- 0:30Speaker 1: We'll have the weekend observations as well. And T-Bob going
- 0:34Speaker 1: to join us in hour number two. Taylor, put it
- 0:36Speaker 1: on the poll, please. That's to got 790 on X.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Were you rooting for Belichick? Also put this on the poll.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Has Bill Belichick somehow become a lovable underdog?
- 0:53Speaker 4: The answer to both of those is no.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Well, for me, it was a yes. And also put
- 0:57Speaker 3: this on the poll.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Was that the biggest win of Bill Belichick's storied career?
- 1:04Speaker 5: Stu, let me ask you a question.
- 1:06Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:07Speaker 5: What will you be doing Saturday, December 5th?
- 1:10Speaker 3: I have no idea. Watching football.
- 1:12Speaker 5: I know what I'll be doing. I'll be in Charlotte
- 1:14Speaker 5: watching my North Carolina Tar Heels in the ACC championship.
- 1:18Speaker 5: I just booked my flight and hotel.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Did you really?
- 1:21Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:21Speaker 1: After a 15-10 victory over TCU, we have no idea
- 1:25Speaker 1: if TCU is any good. I still have no idea
- 1:28Speaker 1: if Carolina is any good. But I did find myself
- 1:30Speaker 1: rooting for Belichick. Mikey, you didn't find yourself rooting for
- 1:33Speaker 1: Bill Belichick? He's been through it the last couple of years.
- 1:37Speaker 8: There is nothing that could happen on this planet to
- 1:40Speaker 8: make me ever root for Bill Belichick in any form.
- 1:43Speaker 4: And I happen to like North Carolina.
- 1:45Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Mikey, that's a very dangerous game because I grew up
- 1:48Speaker 5: a Jets fan and I said the same exact thing.
- 1:51Speaker 5: And then Bill Belichick somehow wound up at my alma mater.
- 1:54Speaker 5: And now I'm rooting for Bill Belichick.
- 1:56Speaker 6: You're not though. Yes, I am.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Don't say I'm not rooting for Bill Belichick because I
- 2:00Speaker 5: want this to succeed. It hasn't succeeded. And that's why
- 2:03Speaker 5: I've kind of been at the front line saying that
- 2:05Speaker 5: it hasn't been working.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I don't have to say you're not rooting for Belichick.
- 2:09Speaker 1: You said it plenty headed into the season.
- 2:12Speaker 6: I mean, Mikey, what are we talking about?
- 2:16Speaker 5: I want it to work. Mikey, if Bill Belichick went
- 2:19Speaker 5: to Fordham, if he was the Fordham Rams next head coach,
- 2:21Speaker 5: you're telling me you wouldn't root for Fordham.
- 2:24Speaker 8: He could go be the Fordham Rams head coach, go
- 2:27Speaker 8: take them to the college football playoff. And then in
- 2:29Speaker 8: the off season, take over Brian Cashman's job and Aaron
- 2:33Speaker 8: Boone's job and turn them into the dynasty Yankees.
- 2:37Speaker 4: And I still wouldn't root for Bill Belichick.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I understand what you're doing there. I live with the
- 2:42Speaker 1: same thing. He was the jet coach. He resigned after
- 2:45Speaker 1: a day and then he took the Patriot job and
- 2:47Speaker 1: he won six Super Bowls.
- 2:48Speaker 6: I get it.
- 2:49Speaker 1: It's not a guy you and I should be rooting for.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Yet I found myself rooting for Bill Belichick.
- 2:54Speaker 6: I did.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Just because he's been through. The league has rejected Bill Belichick.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Think about this, Mikey. He won six Super Bowls as
- 3:03Speaker 1: a head coach.
- 3:05Speaker 6: Six.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Eight total.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And yet when he was let go by the Patriots,
- 3:10Speaker 1: the NFL said loud and clear, the entire NFL, you're
- 3:15Speaker 1: not good enough to coach here anymore. And so then
- 3:18Speaker 1: he was forced to go to Carolina. Pablo Torre is
- 3:21Speaker 1: chasing him down. I mean, the guy, he left, you know,
- 3:26Speaker 1: a house shirtless one day, and there was a video.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I mean, the guy has been through it. And so yesterday,
- 3:32Speaker 1: or over the weekend, excuse me, in a 15-10 victory
- 3:36Speaker 1: for North Carolina, and they are clearly, the number one
- 3:40Speaker 1: team in the country right now.
- 3:41Speaker 9: Correct.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I found myself rooting for bill Belichick and I found
- 3:47Speaker 1: myself and my wife is the one who brought it
- 3:49Speaker 1: up to me. Is he the lovable underdog now? And
- 3:53Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, you know what? He kind of is.
- 3:56Speaker 5: So you mentioned that we don't really know what to
- 3:59Speaker 5: really make of either team this year. And I do
- 4:01Speaker 5: think that's right with a week zero game in Ireland
- 4:05Speaker 5: on a pretty sloppy field. I don't know if we
- 4:07Speaker 5: learned if Carolina is good, but it feels safe that
- 4:10Speaker 5: at the very least, they're not bad, which is bad
- 4:14Speaker 5: news for the haters, which there are many, by the way.
- 4:17Speaker 5: College football pundits couldn't wait to dunk on Bill Belichick
- 4:21Speaker 5: and UNC. And then today, guess what was served up
- 4:26Speaker 5: to them?
- 4:27Speaker 7: What?
- 4:27Speaker 5: Humble pie.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 4:28Speaker 5: Couple servants.
- 4:29Speaker 6: Paul Feinbaum.
- 4:31Speaker 3: He actually acknowledged it today.
- 4:33Speaker 5: Paul Feinbaum, come back for seconds, buddy.
- 4:35Speaker 1: He said he was wrong, but we have no idea
- 4:37Speaker 1: if he was wrong. He might still be right, because
- 4:40Speaker 1: I don't know if Carolina's good. And I don't know
- 4:42Speaker 1: if TCU is good. And if Carolina is not good,
- 4:45Speaker 1: what's that say about TCU? How about that?
- 4:48Speaker 8: I'm fairly certain TCU is not good. Their season's over.
- 4:51Speaker 8: I'm fairly certain. I might not know about North Carolina.
- 4:55Speaker 8: I'm fairly certain I know about TCU.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Taylor, how'd you feel?
- 4:59Speaker 6: Like, honestly, you've been blasting Belichick. It's fine.
- 5:01Speaker 3: You could do that.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Now you're rooting for him, and that's fine. That's what
- 5:04Speaker 1: sports fandom is all about. I mean, there are certain
- 5:07Speaker 1: drives where I want to fire the Jets head coach.
- 5:10Speaker 1: There have been quarters where I want the Jet head
- 5:12Speaker 1: coach to be fired. And the very next quarter, I
- 5:15Speaker 1: want him signed to an extension. That's how sports fandom works.
- 5:19Speaker 1: So how do you feel today? Not about your opinions
- 5:22Speaker 1: on Belichick. Just as a Carolina alum, you walked onto
- 5:25Speaker 1: that football team. You want Carolina to have success. And yes,
- 5:28Speaker 1: you've been critical of Belichick. But you're off to a
- 5:31Speaker 1: 1-0 start. That has to feel good.
- 5:33Speaker 5: It feels good. One, because right now at offensive coordinator,
- 5:36Speaker 5: Bobby Petrino feels like one of the best play callers
- 5:39Speaker 5: in college football, because I don't really think this, I
- 5:41Speaker 5: still don't really think that this North Carolina offense is much,
- 5:45Speaker 5: but Bobby Petrino found ways to scheme North Carolina open
- 5:48Speaker 5: where the, the, the highlight for me on offense was
- 5:51Speaker 5: their tight end. Jelani Thurman four catches, 94 yards, son
- 5:55Speaker 5: of former NFL linebacker, Odell Thurman and WNBA all-star Cara Braxton.
- 6:00Speaker 5: He transfers in from Ohio state. I think they got
- 6:03Speaker 5: a guy.
- 6:04Speaker 6: He looks good.
- 6:07Speaker 3: And you love the quarterback.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Oh, Billy Edwards Jr. So going into that game.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Mikey is so mad at you right now. Go ahead.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Going into that game, from people that I talked to
- 6:17Speaker 5: in Chapel Hill, they said... The plan is we are
- 6:20Speaker 5: going to play two quarterbacks. We've got a backup quarterback
- 6:24Speaker 5: that we like in McNeil. He is going to play.
- 6:26Speaker 5: And then I think you saw as that game kind
- 6:28Speaker 5: of unfolded, Billy Edwards Jr. was more than sufficient at
- 6:32Speaker 5: the quarterback position to where Carolina never really... had to
- 6:36Speaker 5: take him out and, you know, risk disrupting the rhythm
- 6:39Speaker 5: that he was creating.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I love Bobby Petrino. Everyone is just singing his praises.
- 6:44Speaker 5: He's so back.
- 6:45Speaker 1: 15 points against TCU, three in the second half.
- 6:52Speaker 4: You use the phrase, a lovable underdog. Bill Belichick, Bobby Petrino.
- 6:57Speaker 8: No, no, there is nothing lovable about that coaching staff.
- 7:01Speaker 6: And Lombardi.
- 7:04Speaker 7: And lombardi yes uh dan bryles to coach the defense.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Yes uh dan i know it's a strange thing to
- 7:12Speaker 1: say but on a resume that includes six super bowl
- 7:16Speaker 1: victories as a head coach do you think the victory
- 7:18Speaker 1: over the weekend for belichick was the most important of his.
- 7:21Speaker 9: Career well they brought home the crystal like they had
- 7:24Speaker 9: a crystal trophy they brought home hardware i think that
- 7:27Speaker 9: says enough Yes.
- 7:29Speaker 6: Dan, great point.
- 7:30Speaker 4: The NBA banner.
- 7:31Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Dan, great point because if you presented me two options,
- 7:35Speaker 5: I could win the Super Bowl or the Lombardi Trophy
- 7:38Speaker 5: or I could win the Aer Lingus College Football Classic
- 7:40Speaker 5: Championship Trophy.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:42Speaker 5: I'm taking that trophy every time.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I will tell you this, Dan.
- 7:45Speaker 1: If you ask Belichick before the game, hey, the Aer
- 7:48Speaker 1: Lingus Trophy, you can have it. You're going to win
- 7:50Speaker 1: this game, but you have to give up one Lombardi Trophy.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Do you think he would have done it?
- 7:54Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 7:55Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 7:55Speaker 9: Mix it up a little bit.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Pick one. Pick one.
- 7:59Speaker 9: When I was a kid, I wrestled. I always wanted
- 8:00Speaker 9: a bronze because it was different. It was just different than,
- 8:03Speaker 9: you know, there's gold, silver, whatever. But the bronze was
- 8:06Speaker 9: a tough one to get.
- 8:08Speaker 6: But you understand what I'm saying?
- 8:09Speaker 1: When people start to question whether or not you're good
- 8:11Speaker 1: at this, this thing you have done your entire life,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and they start to question it. You've won six Super Bowls,
- 8:18Speaker 1: and the NFL is rejecting you.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Okay?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Belichick needed validation. He needed to remind people, hey— I
- 8:25Speaker 1: could still do this. I could still do this as
- 8:27Speaker 1: a head coach. I'm doing it in college. I'm doing
- 8:29Speaker 1: it at North Carolina. I'm doing it in Dublin, Ireland.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Okay?
- 8:34Speaker 6: Belichick needed that. He did.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Carolina needed it. Belichick needed it more.
- 8:39Speaker 6: Fair?
- 8:40Speaker 9: Absolutely. And I think he would trade in the Rams
- 8:43Speaker 9: Super Bowl 53 win. Maybe not the 28-3 Falcons and
- 8:48Speaker 9: maybe not Super Bowl 36 or against my Seahawks, but
- 8:51Speaker 9: the one against the Rams in Atlanta, Super Bowl 53 win.
- 8:54Speaker 9: definitely trade that one in for the Aer Lingus.
- 8:58Speaker 1: We were all confused last week that Taylor was offered
- 9:01Speaker 1: a free trip to Dublin, and he turned it down
- 9:04Speaker 1: as a North Carolina alum, as someone who walked onto
- 9:06Speaker 1: that football team, was part of that program.
- 9:09Speaker 6: He turned it down.
- 9:10Speaker 3: He didn't go to the game.
- 9:12Speaker 1: That did not prevent him from putting together a song
- 9:16Speaker 1: that he would have sang had he attended the game
- 9:18Speaker 1: in a pub right after that victory.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Play it.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Oh, Bill sawed off for W with his hoodie and
- 9:27Speaker 5: his frown. He brought the heels from Chapel Hill to
- 9:30Speaker 5: shake that Irish town. The horned frogs came to meet him,
- 9:33Speaker 5: all dressed in purple hue. But Bill had come for
- 9:36Speaker 5: one thing, to show what the heels could do. They
- 9:39Speaker 5: said the man was getting old, they said his time
- 9:41Speaker 5: was through. Then Bill went off to Ireland and beat
- 9:44Speaker 5: the hell out of TCU. They called the team a laughingstock,
- 9:48Speaker 5: nobody gave a chance. They took the fight right to
- 9:51Speaker 5: the frogs and did an Irish dance. They counted out Bibela,
- 9:55Speaker 5: check and said he would go in lists. Well, you
- 9:57Speaker 5: could kiss my Tar Heel ass while I go drink.
- 10:00Speaker 5: a Guinness. A quarterback from Maryland, he's over six feet tall.
- 10:04Speaker 5: He saved the heels in Ireland. His name is Billy Football.
- 10:08Speaker 5: They said his coach was finished. His legacy was done.
- 10:11Speaker 5: He left Lombardi in the States and then he finally won.
- 10:15Speaker 5: Petrino called the offense. Oh, Bill controlled the D. The
- 10:19Speaker 5: Fries came in as favorites, but that meant to me.
- 10:22Speaker 5: They crossed the sea as underdogs with everybody short. That
- 10:26Speaker 5: TCU would roll the heels while 1510 says more. The
- 10:30Speaker 5: time for laughing's over. Coach Bill has got his team.
- 10:33Speaker 5: When Carolina comes to town, they're going to cause a scene.
- 10:37Speaker 5: I hope you had your fun. I mean it sincerely.
- 10:40Speaker 5: You woke the sleeping giant. Next stop, the C-S-P.
- 10:49Speaker 3: It was so good right till the end.
- 10:53Speaker 6: I've heard that song four times now. And every time
- 10:55Speaker 6: I know.
- 10:56Speaker 4: The CFP is coming, it makes me cringe anyway.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but the first couple of minutes.
- 11:00Speaker 4: It's an amazing song. Oh, yeah. One of my favorites.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it really gets you moving.
- 11:04Speaker 5: I started scouting who we might be playing that first
- 11:06Speaker 5: round of the playoffs. I'm thinking Notre Dame.
- 11:08Speaker 6: You wanted to fire Belichick.
- 11:11Speaker 1: By the way, you'll laugh at this. McAfee is on.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I think he's on. Something on ESPN is going on.
- 11:16Speaker 1: And who was being wired up to go on the show?
- 11:19Speaker 1: Bobby Petrino.
- 11:21Speaker 5: He's so back. Never been more back.
- 11:24Speaker 6: 15 points. 15.
- 11:37Speaker 1: All right, we'll do this week's Mount Rushmore in about
- 11:40Speaker 1: 15 minutes. T-Bob going to join us in hour number
- 11:43Speaker 1: two as well. When I was doing the show with Dan,
- 11:48Speaker 1: we had a segment called the Stugats of the Day.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Someone who did something totally insane, ridiculous, and without morals.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I'm not certain if we're bringing it back, but Taylor
- 12:02Speaker 1: tells me, that he does have a Stugatz of the day.
- 12:05Speaker 3: What do you have?
- 12:06Speaker 5: Yeah, so maybe the most viral story on social media
- 12:09Speaker 5: this weekend was a 35-year-old man named Dajon Love.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Ah, yes.
- 12:14Speaker 5: And Dajon Love spent years pretending to be a 49ers
- 12:19Speaker 5: wide receiver on dating apps and social media. And when
- 12:23Speaker 5: he would get matched with women, he would try to
- 12:25Speaker 5: convince them he was in the NFL and then to
- 12:28Speaker 5: try to get them to invest in In bogus scam opportunities.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Really?
- 12:33Speaker 5: So this is a grade A scammer. He would just
- 12:36Speaker 5: basically go to beaches and practice fields and be wearing
- 12:39Speaker 5: a 49ers, what looked like a team issued shirt and
- 12:42Speaker 5: a 49ers helmet.
- 12:43Speaker 10: Right.
- 12:44Speaker 5: And his Instagram was basically just him like talking about
- 12:47Speaker 5: what life was like in the NFL. And none of
- 12:50Speaker 5: the women thought to like... maybe Google him and see
- 12:53Speaker 5: if he was on the roster.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yes.
- 12:55Speaker 5: But Stu, I have this sound. This is when he
- 12:58Speaker 5: would go back and forth with these women on social
- 13:01Speaker 5: media or in text messages. This is him explaining why
- 13:06Speaker 5: you don't see him On the 49ers roster.
- 13:09Speaker 11: You already know how I get down. But by the
- 13:14Speaker 11: fact you don't, cause I'm in the NFL now. I
- 13:17Speaker 11: don't know if I was in the league when I
- 13:18Speaker 11: was with you or I was almost in the league.
- 13:21Speaker 11: So now I'm in the league last year. This was
- 13:25Speaker 11: after me and you stopped talking. I ended up breaking
- 13:28Speaker 11: my pinky on my left hand and I didn't clear
- 13:32Speaker 11: waivers before the The season started. And in the NFL,
- 13:37Speaker 11: you have to clear three parts of a waiver. There's
- 13:39Speaker 11: a mental part of a waiver, an emotional part, and
- 13:44Speaker 11: a physical part.
- 13:45Speaker 3: So you can clear one.
- 13:46Speaker 11: Out of the three or two out of the three,
- 13:48Speaker 11: and you'll still be on the team. You just won't
- 13:50Speaker 11: have an official roster spot on the team, and you
- 13:53Speaker 11: won't be activated to play.
- 13:55Speaker 6: Bravo, sir.
- 13:56Speaker 5: The three-part waiver.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Emotional, physical, mental.
- 14:03Speaker 4: I believe him. I know we're lying.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Yes.
- 14:05Speaker 4: I know he's lying.
- 14:06Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying.
- 14:07Speaker 4: I believe him.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Yes, that's why he's the Stugatz of the day.
- 14:11Speaker 5: What is more embarrassing today? That he spent all this
- 14:14Speaker 5: time scamming people out of their money and now he's
- 14:18Speaker 5: going to jail because the federal authorities have cracked down
- 14:22Speaker 5: on his case?
- 14:23Speaker 11: Or.
- 14:24Speaker 5: The women that got scammed out of over a million
- 14:26Speaker 5: dollars for falling.
- 14:27Speaker 3: For this game.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I don't blame them. I blame him, of course. I mean,
- 14:30Speaker 1: he's the one doing the lying. He's the one doing
- 14:32Speaker 1: the bilking. He's the one who is getting cash from
- 14:35Speaker 1: people by telling him that he's in the NFL.
- 14:39Speaker 6: It's a heady blood.
- 14:40Speaker 5: A mental waiver.
- 14:43Speaker 4: An emotional waiver.
- 14:44Speaker 3: It's just not the end game was cash because I
- 14:46Speaker 3: used to lie.
- 14:47Speaker 1: So back when I moved down here in 97, the
- 14:50Speaker 1: Marlins won their first World Series championship. It is funny,
- 14:53Speaker 1: since 97, the Marlins have won two World Series championships
- 14:57Speaker 1: since 1997. The backup catcher on that team, I worked
- 15:01Speaker 1: for the Marlins, his name was John Wehner.
- 15:04Speaker 6: I got a ring, a World Series ring.
- 15:05Speaker 3: I got one.
- 15:06Speaker 6: Mine said John Wehner.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I spent the entire year not trying to get money,
- 15:11Speaker 1: just trying to hook up by telling every single woman.
- 15:16Speaker 6: In every single.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Bar across South Florida that I was the Marlins backup catcher.
- 15:22Speaker 6: How about that?
- 15:24Speaker 5: Dajon Love before Dajon Love.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yep.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I mean, Mikey, you've walked into a bar at some
- 15:30Speaker 1: point before you were married and told someone you were
- 15:32Speaker 1: a NASCAR driver.
- 15:33Speaker 6: Who has it?
- 15:35Speaker 4: No, I still have pictures of people that people took
- 15:38Speaker 4: with me.
- 15:39Speaker 8: After the draft, when I was working it as a producer,
- 15:41Speaker 8: when I said I got drafted in the third round.
- 15:43Speaker 8: They took pictures with me. I said, yeah, I'm a
- 15:48Speaker 8: guard out of LSU, got drafted by the Titans.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I've been a NASCAR driver, a backup catcher, an astronaut.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I mean, whatever you got to do.
- 15:57Speaker 4: You are all those things, though.
- 15:59Speaker 3: I'm an ass, that's for sure. What do you have, Dan?
- 16:05Speaker 9: Every single video that he had was him mansplaining.
- 16:09Speaker 5: It was, they were getting better and better.
- 16:11Speaker 6: Yes.
- 16:11Speaker 9: And this, what broke Thursday, Friday, last week around that time,
- 16:15Speaker 9: like that we'd found out that he had been arrested.
- 16:16Speaker 9: And then by Sunday we had videos of him in
- 16:18Speaker 9: Rams gear. So he had now made the switch at
- 16:22Speaker 9: some point to being a member of the Rams. It
- 16:25Speaker 9: just kept getting better and better as he was driving
- 16:29Speaker 9: around in his McLaren, as he explained.
- 16:32Speaker 6: You got to sell it.
- 16:34Speaker 9: The Gucci stores that felt like they were like McDonald
- 16:38Speaker 9: franchises that he had like around the country, but he
- 16:40Speaker 9: was saying his parents own majority shares in three Gucci
- 16:44Speaker 9: stores and explained how that worked. Oh, it was a
- 16:47Speaker 9: ride through the weekend.
- 16:48Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 5: He said he was close personal friends with Tyreek Hill.
- 16:54Speaker 5: And then when he was explaining why he was wearing
- 16:56Speaker 5: the Rams gear, like Dan said, he was like, I
- 16:58Speaker 5: just traded myself to the Rams.
- 17:00Speaker 12: Right.
- 17:00Speaker 6: Well, I mean- He's a professional liar.
- 17:05Speaker 9: His three best friends were Tyreek, John Brown, and then
- 17:10Speaker 9: Antonio Brown.
- 17:12Speaker 6: So it was.
- 17:13Speaker 8: Well, that's only because he was related to Jordan Love
- 17:15Speaker 8: and Julian Love.
- 17:16Speaker 4: They were his cousins.
- 17:19Speaker 6: He didn't do that, did he?
- 17:20Speaker 9: Yes, he absolutely did. I thought like the John Brown is,
- 17:25Speaker 9: you know, the Hollywood Brown to throw us off the scent,
- 17:28Speaker 9: you know, like that he would, because if he was
- 17:30Speaker 9: friends with just Tyreek and Antonio Brown, at some point
- 17:33Speaker 9: we'd have to see Dajon Love. But if you throw
- 17:35Speaker 9: Hollywood Brown and.
- 17:36Speaker 6: Then they're like.
- 17:37Speaker 9: Okay, I guess maybe this could work. It got better
- 17:41Speaker 9: and better throughout the weekend.
- 17:43Speaker 1: When you're a professional liar, what you do is you
- 17:45Speaker 1: lay out the lie, and then you think about, hey,
- 17:48Speaker 1: what are some of the follow-ups going to be?
- 17:49Speaker 3: And you figure out your answers to said follow-ups. That's
- 17:52Speaker 3: what you do.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Stu, one of the follow-up questions that these women had
- 17:55Speaker 5: to him was— Let's see you in college. Like, where
- 17:59Speaker 5: are your college highlight tapes? And he just explained it.
- 18:02Speaker 5: I made it to the NFL another way.
- 18:04Speaker 6: What does that mean? It doesn't matter. Just another way.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Not the traditional way. There was also another angle.
- 18:13Speaker 9: That came from his beach workout, which was crazy because
- 18:15Speaker 9: we only saw the one that they were trying to
- 18:17Speaker 9: sell of him running this route where it looked like
- 18:19Speaker 9: he was fair catching a punt. But all of a
- 18:22Speaker 9: sudden this, did you see the one from the parking lot,
- 18:25Speaker 9: Taylor or Mike? I don't know where somebody else was
- 18:28Speaker 9: recording being like, why is a guy working out on
- 18:30Speaker 9: the beach with a 49ers helmet? So it was a complete,
- 18:33Speaker 9: you know, grassy knoll sort of video, but that came
- 18:36Speaker 9: out this week as well. There this weekend as well,
- 18:38Speaker 9: that somebody else actually saw this happening. It was like,
- 18:41Speaker 9: what the hell is going on?
- 18:43Speaker 5: Stew i know he was in the sand but if
- 18:45Speaker 5: you just saw these workouts yes you would say no
- 18:49Speaker 5: way is this guy an nfl player because he was
- 18:51Speaker 5: doing that like karaoke like side shuffle right and again
- 18:55Speaker 5: he's in sand but he might as well have been
- 18:57Speaker 5: in quicksand that's how.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Slow he was moving with the niners helmet on.
- 19:02Speaker 1: It's a key part of visor too it's a key
- 19:05Speaker 1: part of the cell.
- 19:09Speaker 8: You saying that he looks slow is probably the most
- 19:11Speaker 8: hurtful thing for this whole thing for him.
- 19:13Speaker 6: No, I didn't.
- 19:14Speaker 3: How did it all come crumbling down?
- 19:17Speaker 5: I think eventually he just got himself caught up in lies.
- 19:20Speaker 5: He had like a cake made that had a love
- 19:23Speaker 5: 749er jersey. I want to go on NFL Shop right
- 19:26Speaker 5: now and get a custom love 7 jersey. I think
- 19:28Speaker 5: it's the number one selling jersey this season.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Get me one as well. It's a Mount Rushmore Monday.
- 19:34Speaker 3: We do it next.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gatz and
- 19:38Speaker 2: Company live weekdays at 3 p.m.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Eastern, 12 p.m.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Pacific.
- 19:44Speaker 3: I just saw these Dajon Love. Am I saying that right? Dajon.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Dajon Love videos. during the break. Taylor showed them to
- 19:52Speaker 1: me for the first time. First time I'm seeing them.
- 19:54Speaker 1: And now I blame the woman.
- 19:57Speaker 6: They're bad.
- 19:58Speaker 1: How do you fall for that? No one walks around.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I don't care if they're playing in the NFL. Constantly
- 20:06Speaker 1: wearing their helmet. It's about Rushmore Monday.
- 20:13Speaker 6: Give me the imaging. You can see about Publix. Hey,
- 20:17Speaker 6: you there. Yeah, you.
- 20:20Speaker 2: The guy with the spreadsheet pretending to work.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Do you find yourself.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Needing a pick-me-up as you're dragging in your cubicle to.
- 20:27Speaker 6: Start the week?
- 20:30Speaker 2: Are you ready to put the sports back in sports talk?
- 20:35Speaker 2: Well then, you're in luck because every Monday we climb
- 20:38Speaker 2: the mountain, we talk to legends, and we argue about.
- 20:43Speaker 6: Things you want answered.
- 20:44Speaker 4: I want the truth. You can't handle the truth.
- 20:47Speaker 2: That absolutely do not matter and are completely subjective.
- 20:51Speaker 6: This is Mount Rushmore Monday.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Monday.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Monday.
- 20:56Speaker 5: So the Mount Rushmore Monday today is defensive lineman in
- 21:00Speaker 5: honor of Aaron Donald returning.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:02Speaker 5: Topic picked by me since I'm the Michael Jordan of
- 21:04Speaker 5: Mount Rushmore Mondays. The draft order, Stu, Taylor, Mikey, and
- 21:09Speaker 5: then it snakes back.
- 21:11Speaker 6: Let's do first pick.
- 21:12Speaker 12: Wow.
- 21:12Speaker 3: The least shocking news we heard all weekend. Aaron Donald
- 21:15Speaker 3: is back. Jesus.
- 21:18Speaker 5: I think we called that in August.
- 21:21Speaker 1: He sent a letter to Goodell saying I'm back.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Right. Like Jordan.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:26Speaker 1: All right, so I'm up first here. Easy, Reggie White.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I mean, that's just easy. He's the greatest defensive lineman
- 21:31Speaker 1: of all time.
- 21:32Speaker 6: Reggie White.
- 21:33Speaker 4: That's 1-1.
- 21:33Speaker 5: I had him on 1-1 on my big board. So
- 21:36Speaker 5: my 1-2, Bruce Smith, NFL sack record.
- 21:40Speaker 10: Wow.
- 21:43Speaker 8: That's 1-2, which gives me the wrap. I'm going to
- 21:47Speaker 8: take the guy who just returned. I'm going to take
- 21:50Speaker 8: Aaron Donald.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Great pick. And I'm going to take John Randall. I'm back, baby.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Maybe the best sack celebration of all time.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Four knees, four legs like a dog. Pretending to poop
- 22:03Speaker 3: on you. Who's up, Taylor?
- 22:08Speaker 5: Yep, I'm going to pick two-time Defensive Player of the Year,
- 22:13Speaker 5: Mean Joe Green, centerpiece of that Steel Curtain defense.
- 22:16Speaker 6: Pretty good.
- 22:16Speaker 9: Pretty good.
- 22:19Speaker 6: You guys trying to stick me with J.J.
- 22:20Speaker 7: Rod?
- 22:22Speaker 6: Take him, you won't.
- 22:27Speaker 3: I'm going to take Miles Garrett.
- 22:28Speaker 5: A little bit of a reach here.
- 22:32Speaker 6: How is that a reach?
- 22:36Speaker 4: I mean, I don't argue he's an outside linebacker at times.
- 22:39Speaker 1: No one's going to argue that. And no. And the
- 22:42Speaker 1: man is so good. He got Aaron Donald to come
- 22:45Speaker 1: out of retirement.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Sorry, I'm yelling at you. I'm going to go sack
- 22:54Speaker 3: exchange Mark Gastineau.
- 22:56Speaker 6: How about that?
- 22:58Speaker 3: Stop yelling at me.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Well, I know it's a reach. I don't care if
- 23:02Speaker 1: I win. I don't care if I lose. I'm going
- 23:03Speaker 1: to take Gastineau.
- 23:04Speaker 2: All right.
- 23:05Speaker 3: That's it.
- 23:05Speaker 6: That's all the Jets had for me growing up. That
- 23:08Speaker 6: was it.
- 23:09Speaker 1: It was a couple AFC championship games in the sack exchange.
- 23:12Speaker 6: That's all I had.
- 23:14Speaker 5: So I'm going to make a pick similar to Stu here,
- 23:16Speaker 5: just picking somebody that I liked watching and have an
- 23:19Speaker 5: affinity for. Julius Peppers.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Oh, he's good.
- 23:27Speaker 4: I don't hate it. You could have gotten him in
- 23:29Speaker 4: the next round.
- 23:30Speaker 6: I'm going to.
- 23:33Speaker 8: Go old school a little bit. I'm going to go
- 23:35Speaker 8: Alan Page and Deacon Jones.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Did Deacon Jones have like 32 sacks one year? They
- 23:42Speaker 1: weren't keeping track back then.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Yeah, it says unofficial 173 and a half. Unofficial. who's
- 23:51Speaker 5: up me to close it out Stu you mentioned him
- 23:54Speaker 5: I'm gonna take JJ Watt three-time defensive player of the
- 23:57Speaker 5: year one of the best peaks ever a staple for
- 24:00Speaker 5: hard knocks flipping tires when everybody else hadn't shown up yet.
- 24:06Speaker 8: Does anybody love the troops as much as JJ Watt
- 24:08Speaker 8: I don't think so.
- 24:09Speaker 1: No one does not a single person on the planet
- 24:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna take man this is tough Cortez Kennedy.
- 24:18Speaker 3: I don't hate it I mean it's pretty good You
- 24:21Speaker 3: left out Warren Sapp.
- 24:23Speaker 5: Ricardo has been begging somebody to take Jason Taylor.
- 24:26Speaker 6: No one's taking Jason Taylor. I mean, Jason Taylor's a
- 24:29Speaker 6: great player.
- 24:30Speaker 5: I wish my mic was just on.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Because Ricardo just made a what?
- 24:35Speaker 6: I'm sorry.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Was there a golden goose, and was it selected Dan Byer?
- 24:41Speaker 6: Yes, it was.
- 24:42Speaker 9: Despite this being a three-person draft, there was a golden ticket,
- 24:47Speaker 9: and it was taken by one Stu Gotts. He went
- 24:49Speaker 9: right to my heart. Cortez Kennedy was the NFL's Defensive
- 24:52Speaker 9: Player of the Year on a team that went 2-14.
- 24:55Speaker 9: That says a lot, the late Cortez Kennedy. So, Stu,
- 25:00Speaker 9: this basically allows you to not finish in last place.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Exciting.
- 25:05Speaker 9: I agree with Mikey. I think Taylor really reached with
- 25:07Speaker 9: Julius Pepper. So Taylor, you're at number three, despite being
- 25:10Speaker 9: the Michael Jordan of this game. So it comes down
- 25:13Speaker 9: to Stu and Mikey.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Jordan never finishing third. I'll say this.
- 25:18Speaker 9: The old, the history, the fact that he did take
- 25:21Speaker 9: what we would consider an interior defensive lineman in the
- 25:24Speaker 9: first round, Mikey, you win today's rush.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Order is restored.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Now, you know, listen, you knew that Dan buyer he's
- 25:35Speaker 3: old school.
- 25:36Speaker 6: He likes old school. You took two old guys. I did.
- 25:40Speaker 9: I really like Steve's team.
- 25:41Speaker 4: And I took somebody who's current.
- 25:42Speaker 9: But Deacon Jones was just such a good pick and
- 25:45Speaker 9: good value at round four. Hard to look past.
- 25:48Speaker 1: That Cortez Kennedy situation is kind of like Andre Dawson
- 25:52Speaker 1: winning the MVP on the last place team, right?
- 25:55Speaker 6: Yes. Love Tez.
- 25:59Speaker 9: I usually don't let you guys play to my heart,
- 26:00Speaker 9: but I did there. That was the golden ticket.
- 26:03Speaker 1: But you cannot be the defensive player of the year
- 26:05Speaker 1: on a team that's 2-14.
- 26:07Speaker 6: Just how good were you?
- 26:09Speaker 5: Dan, would I have been better picking Michael Strahan instead
- 26:11Speaker 5: of Julius Peppers?
- 26:13Speaker 2: No.
- 26:14Speaker 9: That was fine. I didn't want Strahan on this list
- 26:17Speaker 9: for the phony farf sack.
- 26:19Speaker 6: Who'd we leave off?
- 26:20Speaker 3: Warren Sapp? Bob Lilly. Howie Long. Oh, Howie Long.
- 26:25Speaker 9: Jesus.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Dwight Freeney.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Ed Too Tall Jones.
- 26:29Speaker 6: Don't tell Dwight Freeney I left him off.
- 26:30Speaker 9: Helody Nada.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Helody Nada.
- 26:37Speaker 5: He's not on my list.
- 26:44Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Ricardo, about Jason Taylor.
- 26:46Speaker 5: Be sure to check out our new YouTube channel for
- 26:48Speaker 5: the show. Just search Stugatz Live on YouTube. Again, that's

- 26:54Speaker 5: tap the thumbs up icon and comment away. Whether you
- 26:56Speaker 5: agree or disagree, let us know what you think. Again,
- 26:58Speaker 5: just search Stugatz Live on YouTube and subscribe. Also, you
- 27:01Speaker 5: can subscribe to Stugatz 790 on YouTube for videos from
- 27:06Speaker 5: our original podcast.
- 27:07Speaker 1: We will get to Mikey A and his fantasy football punishment.
- 27:10Speaker 3: He served it recently.
- 27:14Speaker 8: I served it, but I wasn't punished.
- 27:18Speaker 1: We'll get to that in a second. The NFL teams,
- 27:21Speaker 1: for the most part, have trimmed their rosters down. Final
- 27:24Speaker 1: cuts were made. Kyle McCord had a big game in
- 27:27Speaker 1: Green Bay. He's now the Dolphins' backup. Odell Beckham Jr.
- 27:32Speaker 1: is a giant. And the reason I bring all this
- 27:35Speaker 1: up is because Evan Neal has been cut by the
- 27:38Speaker 1: New York Giants, and you're probably saying to yourselves, why
- 27:42Speaker 1: on God's green earth would Stugatz be talking about Evan
- 27:45Speaker 1: Neal today being cut by the Giants? And there's a
- 27:47Speaker 1: reason for it. I'll get to it in just a second.
- 27:50Speaker 1: In fact, I'll allow Taylor to get to it, and
- 27:52Speaker 1: then we'll get to Mikey Hay and his fantasy football punishment.
- 27:55Speaker 5: So Evan Neal's a Giants former first-round pick, and in
- 27:59Speaker 5: October 2023— he faced some major backlash because fans were
- 28:04Speaker 5: booing him and booing the team. And then Evan Neal's
- 28:08Speaker 5: response was that, was saying that his critics probably flip
- 28:11Speaker 5: hot dogs and hamburgers somewhere and dangerous game to play
- 28:15Speaker 5: in New York city.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Yes.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Because in that market, those hosts are ready to tear
- 28:20Speaker 5: you apart.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Right.
- 28:21Speaker 5: And at the time on the Michael K show, that's
- 28:23Speaker 5: what Don LaGreca did.
- 28:24Speaker 1: And not only that, a lot of guys in New
- 28:26Speaker 1: York city, flipping hot dogs and hamburgers.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I mean, they are, I mean, every lot put me
- 28:30Speaker 3: through college doing it. That's right. There's no shame in
- 28:33Speaker 3: doing that. You got to do what you got to do. Right.
- 28:35Speaker 5: So Don LaGreca got on the Michael K show and
- 28:39Speaker 5: absolutely ripped into Evan Neal and put himself on the
- 28:43Speaker 5: Mount Rushmore of dismissals with this rant.
- 28:47Speaker 9: What does he do? Flip hot dogs and hamburgers somewhere?
- 28:51Speaker 4: Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? I'd cut
- 28:56Speaker 4: his ass.
- 28:56Speaker 2: I would.
- 28:57Speaker 4: How dare you?
- 28:59Speaker 6: How dare you?
- 29:01Speaker 4: These people pay your salary.
- 29:03Speaker 12: They pay an obnoxious amount of money to park, an
- 29:06Speaker 12: obnoxious amount of money for PSLs to sit there and
- 29:09Speaker 12: watch this pap, and you call them hamburger flippers?
- 29:12Speaker 6: What, you're so much better?
- 29:15Speaker 12: I'd rather have a guy that's flipping hamburgers block than
- 29:17Speaker 12: your piece of garbage ass.
- 29:20Speaker 10: Who the hell are you to talk to fans like that?
- 29:23Speaker 10: You piece of garbage. I hate when players do that.
- 29:28Speaker 10: You're not above us. What, because you happen to play
- 29:30Speaker 10: a sport? You make them, you're better than me. You're
- 29:33Speaker 10: better than the people that pay your salary. These giant
- 29:36Speaker 10: fans were here before you and they'll be here after
- 29:39Speaker 10: your sorry ass is cut.
- 29:42Speaker 12: What a piece of human trash. And I don't want
- 29:45Speaker 12: to hear some apology. I don't want to hear, oh,
- 29:47Speaker 12: I was taken out of contact. I didn't mean, I
- 29:49Speaker 12: don't want to hear, done, done. I would cut his
- 29:53Speaker 12: fat ass. Oh, if I'm John Mara, I call him
- 29:58Speaker 12: into the office and say, you were a first round pick,
- 30:01Speaker 12: but you're not worth anything.
- 30:02Speaker 4: You don't talk to our fans that way. You don't
- 30:05Speaker 4: talk to me that way. You are out of a job.
- 30:09Speaker 9: You should boo him.
- 30:10Speaker 6: If you see him in the mall at Willowbrook, boo
- 30:13Speaker 6: his ass. If you see him on the DMV, boo him.
- 30:18Speaker 6: Don't stop booing him.
- 30:19Speaker 4: If he goes to the Pro Bowl, boo him.
- 30:22Speaker 1: If he wins a Super Bowl, boo his sorry ass.
- 30:28Speaker 6: Screw that guy.
- 30:29Speaker 4: I mean, that angers me. We're not nobody. Flippin', but
- 30:33Speaker 4: how do you condescend to people that pay to watch
- 30:37Speaker 4: you play? Poorly, I might add.
- 30:43Speaker 6: And that is why I brought up Evan Neal.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Boo-woop! Boo-woop!
- 30:49Speaker 4: You see him as a DMV.
- 30:51Speaker 3: You see him crossing 7th Avenue. Boo him.
- 30:55Speaker 6: The DMV.
- 30:58Speaker 5: You see him picking up his kids from school.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Boo him.
- 31:01Speaker 6: Boo him.
- 31:03Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 31:04Speaker 3: 12 shares.
- 31:04Speaker 5: I love LaGreco.
- 31:07Speaker 6: He's so good.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Hearing that sound made me think of a new segment
- 31:11Speaker 1: called Are You Kidding Me?
- 31:12Speaker 5: I thought you were going to say boo him.
- 31:15Speaker 6: Or boo him. Two new segments.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Play like the first 15 seconds. There's something that he emphasized.
- 31:22Speaker 1: He had to say something twice just to hammer it home.
- 31:25Speaker 6: Let me hear it real quick.
- 31:26Speaker 9: What does he do? Flip hot dogs and hamburgers somewhere?
- 31:31Speaker 4: Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?
- 31:34Speaker 6: I'd cut his ass.
- 31:36Speaker 3: I would.
- 31:37Speaker 4: How dare you?
- 31:39Speaker 2: There.
- 31:39Speaker 1: It was the second how dare you. Because no one
- 31:44Speaker 1: understood him the first time around. So we had to
- 31:47Speaker 1: give you a second dosing of how dare you.
- 31:51Speaker 5: The best part of that, the sneaky best part, is
- 31:54Speaker 5: when Don LaGreca makes fun of Evan Neal's blocking ability
- 31:57Speaker 5: by saying he would rather have the Hamburg and hot
- 32:00Speaker 5: dog flippers at tackle than Evan Neal.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Who was the poor soul trying to get a word in?
- 32:05Speaker 6: Who was that? Do we know? Rosenberg.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Yeah, well, LaGreca wasn't having it. Know your teammate.
- 32:10Speaker 5: It was Rosenberg trying to be a good teammate, trying
- 32:13Speaker 5: to hype him up and partake in the conversation. LaGreca's
- 32:16Speaker 5: just looking at him like, stay out of this. I
- 32:18Speaker 5: got about two more minutes. Let a shooter shoot, man.
- 32:20Speaker 6: Let a shooter shoot. I got this.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Rosenberg, I got this one.
- 32:26Speaker 6: I'm good.
- 32:27Speaker 4: Go to the bathroom.
- 32:28Speaker 6: Come back in 10. Are you kidding me? How dare you?
- 32:36Speaker 5: The best part of this is if Evan Neal has
- 32:39Speaker 5: those comments in Jacksonville, nobody says anything. But the fact
- 32:43Speaker 5: that you had the audacity to say it in the
- 32:46Speaker 5: New York market, I think LaGreca kind of went easy
- 32:49Speaker 5: on you.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Well, it's the New York market. It's their special brand
- 32:53Speaker 1: of media. It's Don LaGreca. It's the city that leads
- 32:58Speaker 1: the league, leads the cities, and people who flip hot
- 33:01Speaker 1: dogs and hamburgers for a living.
- 33:04Speaker 6: It's ridiculous. What was Evan Neal thinking?
- 33:07Speaker 8: There is a moment as a producer when you hand
- 33:10Speaker 8: somebody like Don.
- 33:11Speaker 4: LaGreca, hey, did you see what Evan Neal said?
- 33:14Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 33:14Speaker 8: And you watch the fire burn, and you just go,
- 33:17Speaker 8: going to be a good show today.
- 33:18Speaker 4: It's going to be a good show today.
- 33:20Speaker 6: I got one.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Don's got it.
- 33:21Speaker 6: Don's got this one.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 33:27Speaker 1: That is so good. LaGreca is a classic. He really
- 33:30Speaker 1: is just a classic New York sports radio host. He
- 33:33Speaker 1: is so good. His act would not work in any
- 33:36Speaker 1: other market, but it works there, and it works unbelievably well.
- 33:41Speaker 6: Get him on the show. I want LaGreca.
- 33:45Speaker 1: And I want poor Peter Rosenberg. All right, Mikey, what
- 33:50Speaker 1: happened to you? So it's fantasy season here. Field Yates
- 33:53Speaker 1: is going to join us this week to get you
- 33:54Speaker 1: ready for your fantasy drafts coming up.
- 33:57Speaker 3: But you are paying off something from last year's fantasy league.
- 34:00Speaker 6: Is that what happened?
- 34:01Speaker 8: So I did not lose my fantasy.
- 34:04Speaker 4: I've, I have lost in the past. This was not
- 34:06Speaker 4: my loss.
- 34:06Speaker 8: And we have a, a few punishments. If you are
- 34:09Speaker 8: the loser of our fantasy league that you can choose from.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Right.
- 34:13Speaker 8: And the person who lost in our league chose, he
- 34:17Speaker 8: had to perform seven minutes of standup comedy.
- 34:20Speaker 4: At a comedy club.
- 34:21Speaker 7: Wow.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Okay. Okay.
- 34:23Speaker 7: Yep.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Now, I thought this.
- 34:26Speaker 8: Was a punishment for him. Like, ha ha, you have
- 34:28Speaker 8: to go up there and you have.
- 34:29Speaker 4: To do seven minutes of standup and you're not a comedian.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:32Speaker 1: And seven minutes seems like a short amount of time
- 34:34Speaker 1: until you're on stage and the entire place is looking
- 34:37Speaker 1: at you.
- 34:37Speaker 6: And it feels like three hours, you know?
- 34:41Speaker 8: And I went down there where we're all sitting. We're
- 34:43Speaker 8: right by the stage. I mean, I've got my foot
- 34:46Speaker 8: on the stage. He's going to see me and it's
- 34:49Speaker 8: a packed house. And then he texts us the lineup.
- 34:53Speaker 8: from backstage right and there are 13 comedians all of
- 34:57Speaker 8: them amateurs.
- 34:58Speaker 6: He is up 11th.
- 35:03Speaker 8: And it turned out to be a punishment for me
- 35:05Speaker 8: really because yeah 11 comedians that aren't comedians trying to
- 35:13Speaker 8: fill seven minutes.
- 35:14Speaker 6: Each yeah let's do yeah it was bad that's tough It.
- 35:19Speaker 8: Was so quiet during some jokes that it made me
- 35:23Speaker 8: laugh out of being uncomfortable.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Right.
- 35:25Speaker 1: And when you get that lineup, you want your friend
- 35:27Speaker 1: to be first, second, third, fourth, so you're out of
- 35:29Speaker 1: there in like 45 minutes, right?
- 35:31Speaker 6: Sneak right out.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Hey, listen, I'm going to.
- 35:34Speaker 8: I mean, two drink minimum wasn't enough. Like there was
- 35:37Speaker 8: no amount of alcohol that was going to save whoever
- 35:40Speaker 8: that girl was that was up fourth.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Right.
- 35:43Speaker 8: I don't know that she got anybody to smile and
- 35:46Speaker 8: her parents were in the audience.
- 35:47Speaker 3: So your friend was 11th. That's funny.
- 35:50Speaker 6: Your friend was 11.
- 35:51Speaker 1: So 10 amateur comedians in front of your friend, who's
- 35:53Speaker 1: also an amateur comedian trying to fill seven minutes.
- 35:56Speaker 6: Were all the acts seven minutes?
- 35:59Speaker 4: Yep. Some of them went long.
- 36:02Speaker 6: They thought they were killing it, so they went long.
- 36:06Speaker 8: And, Stu, this might be a little inside baseball for
- 36:08Speaker 8: some of our– they were all so Long Island because
- 36:11Speaker 8: this was on Long Island.
- 36:12Speaker 12: Yes.
- 36:13Speaker 4: They were– I mean, just– and.
- 36:14Speaker 7: I'm talking to my daughter, and she comes over. I
- 36:18Speaker 7: got to go to the OBGYN. I got to get
- 36:20Speaker 7: a pap smear. And I'm just sitting there going, oh,
- 36:22Speaker 7: my God, this is so bad. I just want this
- 36:24Speaker 7: to end. I'm being punished, not him.
- 36:27Speaker 3: So 10 Don LaGreca's.
- 36:30Speaker 5: Sounded like diana rossini's mom that impression.
- 36:34Speaker 6: That's kind of what it sounds like i.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Mean she's jersey right uh don la greca giving that
- 36:39Speaker 1: take on stage.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Would be more entertaining i would have laughed you would
- 36:44Speaker 2: have laughed.
- 36:46Speaker 6: He would have stolen the show oh.
- 36:49Speaker 1: My god so figure like what 80 minutes before your
- 36:53Speaker 1: friend came on right maybe.
- 36:55Speaker 6: Yeah at least yeah that's that's so bad.
- 36:57Speaker 1: It's like those dance recitals. Like, you know, Emma was
- 37:00Speaker 1: a dancer. Rachel played lacrosse. But the dance recital, the
- 37:03Speaker 1: lineup would come out, and you would pray that your
- 37:05Speaker 1: daughter's dance was one of the first three or four.
- 37:08Speaker 1: If she was placed at, like, 27, oh, is that right?
- 37:11Speaker 1: You have to sit through 26 dances before you get
- 37:14Speaker 1: there for the only reason you're there, which is to
- 37:16Speaker 1: see your daughter dance. And she would have four dances.
- 37:19Speaker 1: They would sprinkle them out. It was ridiculous.
- 37:22Speaker 3: I would go play nine holes in between dances and
- 37:24Speaker 3: come back.
- 37:25Speaker 6: How about that?
- 37:25Speaker 3: Huh?
- 37:26Speaker 4: There was one guy who came out that was so
- 37:29Speaker 4: stage fright.
- 37:30Speaker 8: I think it was immersion therapy where he was just
- 37:32Speaker 8: kind of going like this in the microphone.
- 37:36Speaker 6: So... Mikey.
- 37:38Speaker 5: You know what you should have done?
- 37:41Speaker 6: Boom! Are you kidding me?
