- 0:00Speaker 1: His job.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Make it all makes sense.
- 0:04Speaker 3: He's marks alone on sevent tenor.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Having a big ceremony as we speak. Right now at
- 0:12Speaker 1: the White House, President Trump is speaking. King Charles is there,
- 0:16Speaker 1: the King, And there's quite an audience on the lawn
- 0:20Speaker 1: at the White House. There many dignitaries. You'll see all
- 0:24Speaker 1: the top Democrats. Again, what happened to the no king stuff?
- 0:30Speaker 1: They're all celebrating the king. He's going to address Congress today.
- 0:33Speaker 1: All the Democrats will be there. There's a big state
- 0:36Speaker 1: dinner tonight. All the Democrats will be there. What happened
- 0:39Speaker 1: to your no king stuff? Here's a real, actual king,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and you're all over him, slabbing all over him, taking
- 0:45Speaker 1: pictures with him. So you just can't try to figure
- 0:51Speaker 1: it out. It's all it's all total hypocrisy. You know,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I almost made the mistake of saying I hate that
- 0:57Speaker 1: stupid phrase. I almost said, you can't make this stuff up.
- 1:00Speaker 1: That's the dumbest phrase in the world. There are people
- 1:03Speaker 1: who do make that stuff up for a living. All
- 1:05Speaker 1: the great writers, screenwriters, they all go crazy whenever you're
- 1:10Speaker 1: to use that expression, Yeah you can't make this stuff up,
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah you can. That's what they do for a living.
- 1:15Speaker 1: They make up stuff even more outrageous than that. So
- 1:19Speaker 1: King Charles will come to New York tomorrow, Mom Donnie
- 1:22Speaker 1: will show him around. Also, you're gonna have the other
- 1:26Speaker 1: controversy with Mom Donnie. You got all this FIFA stuff coming,
- 1:31Speaker 1: which is FIFA is all the soccer stuff and the
- 1:33Speaker 1: World Cup and all that. It'll be here in New York,
- 1:37Speaker 1: it'll be in New Jersey, it'll be all over the place.
- 1:39Speaker 1: It's gonna tie up everything. Hang on, sorry, it's all
- 1:48Speaker 1: those buffets choking to death on something. So it's gonna
- 1:53Speaker 1: just be a snarled up mess. And Donnie addressing that.
- 1:56Speaker 3: These events were not initially set to be free, but
- 1:59Speaker 3: the World's game should belong to the world, and so
- 2:02Speaker 3: we've made the decision together for fans to be able
- 2:04Speaker 3: to watch that together without having to spend a dollar.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Yeah, so, I don't know what doll he's talking about.
- 2:09Speaker 1: He doesn't either. It's going to cost a fortune for everything.
- 2:12Speaker 1: The tickets are outrageous, even to take the train. Everything's
- 2:16Speaker 1: going to cost a fortune. It's going to be totally disruptive.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I guess it's that's good. It brings a lot of
- 2:21Speaker 1: attention to New York. You know, whatever you see the
- 2:25Speaker 1: Grand Prix, the Formula One Grand Prix, Miami, Monte Carlo,
- 2:29Speaker 1: Las Figs. You know, they got to close up the
- 2:31Speaker 1: whole downtown for a week. It's an absolute nightmare. But
- 2:35Speaker 1: but it looks good. It's like a advertisement all over
- 2:38Speaker 1: the world for the city. So we should be proud.
- 2:41Speaker 1: The World Cup is coming.
- 2:42Speaker 3: We will be hosting five free official fan events, one
- 2:47Speaker 3: in each borough, featuring live viewings, local food offerings, and
- 2:51Speaker 3: so much more.
- 2:53Speaker 1: It's funny he gets excited about this, the World Cup.
- 2:57Speaker 1: He's all excited. The World Cup. It's coming. It's going
- 2:59Speaker 1: to be great in New York. Meantime, if you're a
- 3:01Speaker 1: billionaire like Ken Griffin and you're about to pump six
- 3:05Speaker 1: billion into the economy to build an enormous skyscraper, he
- 3:08Speaker 1: hates you. He's mad at you. You know, this Ken
- 3:10Speaker 1: Griffin building he's going to put on fifty second in
- 3:13Speaker 1: Park would employ fifteen thousand people and to build it
- 3:19Speaker 1: will employ six thousand construction workers for about five years.
- 3:23Speaker 1: It's going to take that long to build it. So
- 3:26Speaker 1: he's mad at that guy. But the world couple be
- 3:29Speaker 1: here for a day and a half two minutes, and
- 3:31Speaker 1: he's all excited about that. Go try to figure that out.
- 3:34Speaker 1: So you know, for those of you that that think
- 3:38Speaker 1: New York is dying, it's over. That's it. It's these
- 3:43Speaker 1: big real estate guys, these big billionaires. They're very smart
- 3:47Speaker 1: when it comes to this stuff. They can see into
- 3:49Speaker 1: the future, and they're building or about to build massive
- 3:54Speaker 1: skyscrapers all over New York. This Ken Griffin building would
- 3:56Speaker 1: be it. Fifty second and Park. Remember the old Brooks
- 4:01Speaker 1: Brothers store on Madison Avenue, the original flagship Brooks Brothers
- 4:06Speaker 1: has been closed for a couple of years. It's a
- 4:08Speaker 1: coffee shop. Well, one of the big real estate companies,
- 4:11Speaker 1: one of the great builders in New York. They're going
- 4:13Speaker 1: to tear all that down, that build a massive building.
- 4:16Speaker 1: They're a beautiful new building. And then the Roosevelt Hotel,
- 4:22Speaker 1: which was the Migrant that's probably gonna come down. I
- 4:24Speaker 1: think it's JP Morgan Chase looking at building another skyscraper there.
- 4:29Speaker 1: If you go to fifty eighth and Madison, you'll see
- 4:34Speaker 1: all the buildings have been torn down. There's a big
- 4:36Speaker 1: hole in the ground. Well, there's a eighty five story
- 4:39Speaker 1: skyscraper about to go up there on fifty seventh between
- 4:44Speaker 1: fifth and sixth on both sides of the street, there's
- 4:47Speaker 1: like seventy five story skyscrapers going up on both sides.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I mean can rattle off about twenty of these skyscrapers
- 4:53Speaker 1: going up, and they're all multi billion dollar projects, billions
- 4:59Speaker 1: for each building. And these real estate guys are spending
- 5:02Speaker 1: it because they know New York is going to have
- 5:04Speaker 1: a big future. They're not moving these buildings somewhere else. Now.
- 5:09Speaker 1: The only one that's questionable this I don't know about.
- 5:14Speaker 1: You know, there's a lot of skyscraper there's a bunch
- 5:17Speaker 1: of skyscrapers in Columbus Circle, and then after that it's
- 5:20Speaker 1: the Upper West Side where there's no skyscrapers, except now
- 5:24Speaker 1: there's one. It's about sixty sixth then Broadway. It's like
- 5:28Speaker 1: a fifty five sixty story skyscraper. It just kind of
- 5:32Speaker 1: stands out. You've never seen a skyscraper on the old
- 5:35Speaker 1: Upper West Side. Well, now there's another one. I think
- 5:40Speaker 1: it hasn't been fully approved yet, but it's where the
- 5:42Speaker 1: old ABC TV was on sixty seventh and Columbus. The
- 5:48Speaker 1: ABC it was actually a campus. It was like three
- 5:51Speaker 1: or four buildings. That's where Live with Regis was every morning,
- 5:56Speaker 1: Channel seven News, all that ABC stuff moved down to
- 5:59Speaker 1: Tribeca because somebody bought all those buildings. They're tearing them down.
- 6:03Speaker 1: They want to build an eighty five story skyscraper. But
- 6:07Speaker 1: that's on the upper West side, in the middle of
- 6:09Speaker 1: all those regular apartments. You'll see these two enormous skyscrapers.
- 6:13Speaker 1: It's kind of jarring. The same thing happened in Queens
- 6:17Speaker 1: and Brooklyn. You know, remember you used to look over
- 6:18Speaker 1: at Queens from Manhattan and there was one little skyscraper,
- 6:22Speaker 1: one little city bank building. Now you look over there,
- 6:25Speaker 1: it's a whole skyline. On both sides of the East River,
- 6:29Speaker 1: there's a skyline. So you're going to see more and
- 6:32Speaker 1: more of that. There's gonna be these skyscrapers everywhere. But uh,
- 6:39Speaker 1: if he asked these big real estate guys, the heads
- 6:41Speaker 1: of these big real estacings. So once you're worried about
- 6:43Speaker 1: mom Donnie Is, I'll tell you he's just a blipping time.
- 6:46Speaker 1: He'll be gone before you know it, because these projects are,
- 6:49Speaker 1: you know, eight year, ten year projects. Now Mam Donnie
- 6:53Speaker 1: wants to do a ticker tape parade for the Artemis
- 6:57Speaker 1: two crew, the astronauts. Well, have you heard anybody talk
- 7:02Speaker 1: about him in the last week? Boy, they got forgotten
- 7:04Speaker 1: about fast, the Artemis two astronauts. You know, it used
- 7:08Speaker 1: to be if you were an astronaut in the good
- 7:11Speaker 1: old days of Gemini Apollo, when you came down from
- 7:14Speaker 1: the Moon, you were on the Tonight Show, you were
- 7:16Speaker 1: on Meet the Press, you were on everything, you were
- 7:19Speaker 1: on the Today Show, you were all over the place.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But we forgot all about these guys. Do you know
- 7:24Speaker 1: anybody could name their names? I don't think so. So
- 7:27Speaker 1: they want to do this ticker tape parade here in
- 7:30Speaker 1: New York. You wouldn't think Mamdani'd be a big parade guy.
- 7:36Speaker 1: You wouldn't think he'd be a big Space program guy.
- 7:38Speaker 1: But he wants to do it. He wants NASA to
- 7:40Speaker 1: pay for it. That's the problem. Ticker tape parades cost
- 7:44Speaker 1: a lot of money, not just the cleanup sanitation, but
- 7:48Speaker 1: you got to have a lot of cops. That's a
- 7:50Speaker 1: lot of overtime. So he wants NASA to pay for
- 7:54Speaker 1: Good luck with that. Hey, Katie Couric, seems like a nice,
- 8:00Speaker 1: you know, perky, nice cute Katie Curk. She definitely has
- 8:03Speaker 1: a weasel side to her. She turned on Matt Lower.
- 8:08Speaker 1: She never did this before. There's a new book that's
- 8:12Speaker 1: come out from one of the alleged rape victims. She's
- 8:16Speaker 1: written a long, detailed book. I can't see the title here,
- 8:25Speaker 1: but it's her memoir and she tells the stories. She
- 8:28Speaker 1: was on the road with Matt Lower. She was like
- 8:32Speaker 1: an assistant, a producer. I guess she was a producer.
- 8:35Speaker 1: And they're traveling there, staying in the hotel at the Olympics,
- 8:37Speaker 1: and somehow she ends up in Matt Lower's room and
- 8:41Speaker 1: she says she was raped by him. Then she says
- 8:45Speaker 1: another time in his Today Show office he raped her.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Remember he had that button. When he's at his desk,
- 8:52Speaker 1: he can reach under and touch a button that'll lock
- 8:54Speaker 1: all the doors. Now, who has that kind of a
- 8:57Speaker 1: button in their office. I know big CEOs that have incredible,
- 9:02Speaker 1: unbelievably equipped offices. There's no button under the desk to
- 9:05Speaker 1: lock the doors. That's usually James Bond Villain has that button.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Maybe somewhere in the highest levels of the intelligence department.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Somebody needs that button. But what does Matt Lower need
- 9:18Speaker 1: the button to lock the doors. So she remember this
- 9:20Speaker 1: was the story where supposedly he raped this woman in
- 9:23Speaker 1: the office and then when it was over, she had
- 9:26Speaker 1: passed out and they had a call the NBC nurses
- 9:31Speaker 1: to come drag her out of that kind of stuff.
- 9:33Speaker 1: So she's written a book about this. I wasn't there.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I can't tell you it happened, but sounds to me
- 9:41Speaker 1: like it happened because NBC investigated and Matt Lower was
- 9:45Speaker 1: fired twenty four hours later. Now I remember, he's the
- 9:49Speaker 1: host of the Today Show. He's getting twenty five million
- 9:51Speaker 1: a year. Is a big thing. He's the number one
- 9:53Speaker 1: Today Show. You don't fool around with that. The fact
- 9:56Speaker 1: that they fired him the next day, well, well I
- 10:02Speaker 1: think that means something was going on there. So she's
- 10:06Speaker 1: written this book and they asked Katie Koric about it,
- 10:10Speaker 1: and she didn't defend Matt Lower in anyway. She says,
- 10:12Speaker 1: I feel terrible for her. I think she was very brave,
- 10:16Speaker 1: very brave to write the book. And what can she
- 10:20Speaker 1: say if she knows it's true. I don't know. But
- 10:24Speaker 1: you got to remember something. They all worked with Matt Lawer.
- 10:26Speaker 1: In fact, in fact, if you go back and check
- 10:29Speaker 1: the record. This was during all that me Too stuff
- 10:32Speaker 1: coming out, that Charlie Rose type stuff coming out. I
- 10:36Speaker 1: sat on the air Matt Lower, and I said, it's coming.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It's gonna happen. He's gonna get caught too. So if
- 10:41Speaker 1: I knew about it, I don't even work there. If
- 10:45Speaker 1: I knew about it, why didn't Katie Koric know about it?
- 10:49Speaker 1: If it's happening at NBC News and they're supposed to
- 10:52Speaker 1: be the top investigative journalists of the world and it's
- 10:55Speaker 1: happening two doors down in the hallway, how come they
- 10:58Speaker 1: didn't know about it? How come they didn't anything. It's
- 11:01Speaker 1: a pretty good question. Nobody's nobody's asked. So you want
- 11:06Speaker 1: to feel really old, really old. Remember David Hasselhoff, Remember Baywatch?
- 11:12Speaker 1: Remember him in that bathing suit and the surfboard running
- 11:16Speaker 1: along the beach in Baywatch. Look at this picture David
- 11:20Speaker 1: Hasselhoff now using a walker. He's got gray hair, white hair,
- 11:24Speaker 1: he's got a walker. He's with a for the his
- 11:27Speaker 1: wife is helping him. He's using a walker. Oh, actually
- 11:29Speaker 1: he's only seventy three. I guess he said some medical problems. Hey,
- 11:36Speaker 1: Rob Reiner, you know he had this crazed son Nick Reiner.
- 11:40Speaker 1: But did you know about this one? Ryan O'Neill and
- 11:43Speaker 1: Farah Fawcett have a son. Ryan O'Neill and Pharah Fawcett's
- 11:46Speaker 1: son is named Redmond O'Neill. He was in court last
- 11:52Speaker 1: week with a slew of charges. He's in court for
- 11:55Speaker 1: attempted murder. He looks really frightening. He's got these scary
- 12:01Speaker 1: tattoos all over his face. Apparently struggled with drug addiction
- 12:05Speaker 1: from a very young age, in and out of rehab.
- 12:08Speaker 1: He has all kinds of addictions he can't control. He's
- 12:12Speaker 1: been in asylums and all kinds of rehab for years.
- 12:17Speaker 1: In twenty eighteen, he went on a knife rampage across
- 12:20Speaker 1: Los Angeles, attacked five men, robbed the seven to eleven,
- 12:23Speaker 1: seriously injured two victims, including who was one who was
- 12:27Speaker 1: stabbed in the face. That's not a place, Hollywood, probably
- 12:32Speaker 1: not a place you want to raise your kids. Not
- 12:34Speaker 1: a great environment. Now. The other thing is King Charles
- 12:41Speaker 1: will be here in New York tomorrow, so just remember
- 12:43Speaker 1: that this is I imagine there'll be a lot of security,
- 12:46Speaker 1: be kind of disruptive. So if you're planning on driving
- 12:49Speaker 1: into New York. You probably don't want to do it tomorrow. Hey,
- 12:54Speaker 1: the Sphere in Las Vegas. You've either been there. It's
- 12:59Speaker 1: an amazing thing to see or you've seen it. The
- 13:01Speaker 1: Sphere in Las Vegas built by Madison Square Garden, by
- 13:05Speaker 1: James Dolan. You know they spent two and a half
- 13:07Speaker 1: billion to build it. Kind of a gamble. Well, it's
- 13:11Speaker 1: now officially the world's highest grossing entertainment venue. Remember, the
- 13:17Speaker 1: initial predictions were all doomsday predictions. It's never going to work. Well.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Last year alone, almost two million people bought a ticket
- 13:25Speaker 1: to go to the Sphere. Last year alone, it brought
- 13:28Speaker 1: in about almost four hundred million in revenue. It's the
- 13:31Speaker 1: top grossing venue in the world. It helped push the cup.
- 13:37Speaker 1: They actually made it a separate company, Sphere Entertainment. It's
- 13:39Speaker 1: now in the black, big net profit investors have taken notice.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Company stock was twenty six dollars. Now it's one hundred
- 13:47Speaker 1: and thirty eight dollars. It's way way up. I talked
- 13:51Speaker 1: to Dolan maybe it was six months ago, about the Sphere.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I said, you're going to open them all over the place.
- 13:55Speaker 1: He just looked at me like, no, it's a it's
- 13:58Speaker 1: impossible to say much to do. It's too it's too
- 14:01Speaker 1: tough to build them, and kind of said, Las Vegas
- 14:05Speaker 1: is really the only place you can do it. Maybe
- 14:08Speaker 1: you could do it in Florida, because you really need
- 14:10Speaker 1: a lot of cooperation for the land, for the permits,
- 14:12Speaker 1: for the whole thing from the government there. And obviously
- 14:16Speaker 1: you can't do it in New York. They would just
- 14:17Speaker 1: torture you with zoning and regulations and all that stuff.
- 14:22Speaker 1: And also he kind of said, if you build them
- 14:24Speaker 1: all over the place, it takes away the cachet of
- 14:27Speaker 1: the one in Las Vegas. It's not so special. If
- 14:29Speaker 1: it's a chain and there's a whole bunch of them, Hey,
- 14:32Speaker 1: well take some calls in a minute. Eight hundred three
- 14:35Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten is the number, you know.
- 14:38Speaker 1: ICE is the Immigration and Custom Enforcement Agency Customs Enforcement ICE.
- 14:47Speaker 1: And there's all the controversy, all the flack. Somebody suggested
- 14:50Speaker 1: the President Trump and he loves the idea. Somebody suggested
- 14:54Speaker 1: changed the name to the National Immigration Customs Enforcement And
- 15:01Speaker 1: that way it's nice, it's not ICE. It becomes nice,
- 15:06Speaker 1: and on the uniform it says nice, and on the
- 15:08Speaker 1: helmet it says Nice. Uh, he really got excited about
- 15:12Speaker 1: that idea. I think you're gonna see him do it,
- 15:14Speaker 1: so expect that to happen pretty soon. They'll change the
- 15:16Speaker 1: name of ICE to Nice National Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
- 15:21Speaker 1: So we'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three two
- 15:24Speaker 1: one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three
- 15:28Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten. Set up pre set on
- 15:31Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app to double oor to hear Mark live.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Set another for Mark's podcast to hear him anytime.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Now back to Mark Simone on Doubry.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 15:49Speaker 1: seven ten is the numbers. Let's go to George and
- 15:51Speaker 1: Long Island. George, how you doing?
- 15:53Speaker 2: Oh? Highball? Go you can it?
- 15:55Speaker 5: Go cook?
- 15:56Speaker 1: Let me explain for those of you under eighty you can.
- 15:59Speaker 1: And as for referring to Pat Buchanan, wonderful guy used
- 16:03Speaker 1: to be a guest on this show many many, many,
- 16:05Speaker 1: many many many years ago, ran for president a couple
- 16:08Speaker 1: of times. Let's go to Danny and Yonkers. Danny, how
- 16:12Speaker 1: you doing?
- 16:13Speaker 2: Oh what was that all about?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's another one. Now what they do is they
- 16:22Speaker 1: get together two or three of them and they all
- 16:24Speaker 1: call a radio station and they try to sound like
- 16:27Speaker 1: they're a caller. Oh yeah, like that, you know, and
- 16:30Speaker 1: then they go into the goby cannon. Gov you canon.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You guys got to update your act. Come up with
- 16:36Speaker 1: a newer name. Yeah, come up with some name from
- 16:41Speaker 1: this century, not the last century. Let's go to Oh,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I know this guy. This is Gideon from Greenwich, Connecticut.
- 16:47Speaker 1: It's actually a Gideon Fountain. Is this Gideon?
- 16:50Speaker 5: Yes?
- 16:51Speaker 4: Hey, Mark, I think you're absolutely right to highlight these
- 16:54Speaker 4: this Mundania attack on Ken Griffin, But I wonder it
- 16:57Speaker 4: kind of reminds me. You say that they're still building
- 16:59Speaker 4: lots of buildings in New York and they've got the
- 17:01Speaker 4: builders of a vision for its future. But it reminds
- 17:04Speaker 4: me sort of that maybe where or I think makes
- 17:05Speaker 4: me think of we're in an Ugo Chavez moment, like
- 17:08Speaker 4: in Venezuela. You know, I think they were probably building
- 17:10Speaker 4: skyscrapers in downtown Venezuela, in what's the capital of Venezuela
- 17:16Speaker 4: and uh way back when uh and then up to
- 17:19Speaker 4: the minute that guy took over. I mean, I could
- 17:21Speaker 4: we could we be slipping into that kind of.
- 17:24Speaker 1: At least you're talking about the smartest real estate companies.
- 17:28Speaker 1: You're talking about the rudent stuff, Fishers, the uh the
- 17:31Speaker 1: uh well left racks, the the sl Green. These guys
- 17:36Speaker 1: know what they're doing. They wouldn't invest here if they
- 17:38Speaker 1: weren't sure. Steve Roth, Steve Ross, all these guys, they
- 17:41Speaker 1: know what they're doing. Yeah, yeah, all right, thanks for calling.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Let's go to uh Jay in New Jersey. Jay, how
- 17:48Speaker 1: you doing?
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah heymrk uh yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Now I went to listen to me. Listen to me carefully.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I used to be a great prank caller when I
- 17:58Speaker 1: was a kid. You gotta do better. You got to
- 18:01Speaker 1: go up to another level. You can't just call him
- 18:03Speaker 1: go right, you gotta come up with something.
- 18:05Speaker 6: No, I'm no prank caller. I'm I'm just I just
- 18:08Speaker 6: found that. I just found that humorous before. But about yeah,
- 18:12Speaker 6: the Secret Service, I think that this guy, this sic
- 18:14Speaker 6: of Service director Sean Curran. He something's wrong with this guy.
- 18:17Speaker 6: You know, they messed up with Butler the perimeter there,
- 18:20Speaker 6: then there's the golf course. Then the guy broken Tomorrow Lago.
- 18:23Speaker 6: Now there's this So why is this guy still why
- 18:25Speaker 6: does he still have his job?
- 18:26Speaker 1: Mark? Well, that's a good question. You know, you got
- 18:31Speaker 1: to realize every time we've had this happen. Uh, after
- 18:37Speaker 1: it was over, you look back and say, what the hell,
- 18:39Speaker 1: why were you so relax? Why were you so crate?
- 18:42Speaker 1: You know, the Kennedy assassination really was the first time
- 18:45Speaker 1: where after it was over, he said, why would you
- 18:47Speaker 1: have the president riding in an open car like that?
- 18:51Speaker 1: You're just asking for trumpel It's so he's so vulnerable
- 18:54Speaker 1: righting around that open car. I know they had that
- 18:58Speaker 1: bubble top they could put on, but you know the
- 19:00Speaker 1: bubbletop wasn't bulletproof. That bubbletop was really for the rain,
- 19:05Speaker 1: not anything else. But after that was over, you realized
- 19:08Speaker 1: riding around in an open car this was insane. So
- 19:12Speaker 1: when they built the new presidential limousines, there was no
- 19:14Speaker 1: way to open the top and they were bulletproof, bomb proof.
- 19:20Speaker 1: And then the next assassination was the gerald Ford two
- 19:24Speaker 1: assassination attempts on gerald Ford. And you look back at
- 19:27Speaker 1: the Reagan assassination attempt you think that was crazy. Why
- 19:32Speaker 1: would you walk President Reagan out into the driveway where
- 19:35Speaker 1: there's a million people standing around him and walk him
- 19:39Speaker 1: past that crowd like that? Why didn't you know you
- 19:41Speaker 1: look nowadays, they take him through a tent you can't
- 19:44Speaker 1: see him, or they pull the car like inside the
- 19:46Speaker 1: garage and he gets in in there and this White
- 19:49Speaker 1: House Correspondents dinner. This has been going on for years, decades,
- 19:53Speaker 1: decades in that ballroom. And now you look back and
- 19:57Speaker 1: you say, well, this was crazy. You haven't it in
- 19:59Speaker 1: a hotel. It's open with a thousand people staying upstairs
- 20:03Speaker 1: that haven't been screened. It's crazy. But nobody ever thinks
- 20:08Speaker 1: of all this stuff ahead of time. But it's just
- 20:12Speaker 1: you know, now when the president, you ever see this
- 20:15Speaker 1: presidential limousine, This videos online, it'll show you in detail
- 20:19Speaker 1: what's in there. It's bomb proof, it's bulletproof. It can
- 20:23Speaker 1: launch missiles, it can literally launch missiles. It can withstand
- 20:27Speaker 1: a poison gas attack. You know, when you're in that beast.
- 20:31Speaker 1: You can't open the door. In fact, the other day
- 20:35Speaker 1: President Trump and Missus Trump went to the car and
- 20:38Speaker 1: he got in and she got in. On the other
- 20:40Speaker 1: sid people were saying, well, why didn't he open the
- 20:42Speaker 1: door for you can't open the door. In fact, the
- 20:46Speaker 1: door it's so thick and so bombproof, the door weighs
- 20:49Speaker 1: almost three hundred pounds. So when you're riding in the Beast,
- 20:53Speaker 1: the Secret Service will say to you, don't try to
- 20:55Speaker 1: open the door yourself. We'll open it for you. And
- 20:57Speaker 1: it's like two burly secret Service guys have to open it.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Let's go to Dennis in Boundbrook. Dennis, how you doing?
- 21:04Speaker 5: Yeah? Good morning, Mark? Yeah. Mark. My question is this
- 21:07Speaker 5: with regards to the shooting in Washington. This guy had
- 21:10Speaker 5: a room at the hotel. Supposedly, let's say his room
- 21:13Speaker 5: was facing the street. Yeh, couldn't he just go to
- 21:16Speaker 5: his windows since there's no security, He's got guns and
- 21:19Speaker 5: start shooting people like fish in a barrel, And.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Yeah, wouldn't have been stopped right, Very good point. You know,
- 21:24Speaker 1: there was a white House Coursepondent a few years ago
- 21:26Speaker 1: where they were Palestinian supporters and as the press approached
- 21:32Speaker 1: the hotel hanging out of the windows, these protesters rented
- 21:36Speaker 1: like ten rooms in a row on one floor and
- 21:40Speaker 1: they were able to unfurl an enormous Palestinian flag in
- 21:44Speaker 1: front of the hotel for everybody to see as they
- 21:47Speaker 1: walked in. I mean, it's a lot of people, about
- 21:51Speaker 1: two thousand people come to this dinner. That's why it's
- 21:54Speaker 1: in the Washington Hilton because it's the only ballroom big
- 21:58Speaker 1: enough in DC to get two thousand people there. Now,
- 22:00Speaker 1: people will say, well, want they cut it down to
- 22:02Speaker 1: like six hundred or so. The real purpose of the dinner.
- 22:06Speaker 1: All the big news organizations take a table. Washington Post
- 22:10Speaker 1: takes three tables, Fox News takes three tables, four tables,
- 22:14Speaker 1: the NBC takes four or five to the real reason
- 22:17Speaker 1: they take these tables is to invite their advertisers. It's
- 22:20Speaker 1: a big perk for the advertisers you bring them to
- 22:23Speaker 1: the dinner. So that's why they can't cut it down.
- 22:25Speaker 1: That's why it's two thousand people. Every news organization wants
- 22:28Speaker 1: to bring fifty advertisers to the dinner. Now, Bill O'Reilly
- 22:32Speaker 1: was there in the room right near where the gunshots happened,
- 22:37Speaker 1: so we'll talk to him next. He can tell us
- 22:38Speaker 1: what really happened there that night. We'll get to that
- 22:41Speaker 1: in a second. On seven to ten WR.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Here's more of the Mark Simoon Show on wor Well.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly, of course, the number one television anchor in
- 22:54Speaker 1: America for decades, the number one best selling author nonfiction
- 22:59Speaker 1: author in in the world for years, and he's got
- 23:02Speaker 1: a you know, you can watch the TV show, get
- 23:05Speaker 1: the column. Everything's at billoreilly dot com. But he's got
- 23:09Speaker 1: a great new podcast called We'll Do It Live. Latest
- 23:12Speaker 1: episodes Janine Pira. But I'll go watch all the episodes
- 23:16Speaker 1: We'll Do It Live and check out Bill O'Reilly's YouTube channel.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Great content there, Bill O'Reilly. How you doing.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I'm pretty exhausted after that intro simone. I didn't know
- 23:28Speaker 2: I was doing all that.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Yeah, not only that, you've been in the middle of
- 23:33Speaker 1: combat before, and then Saturday night, you're standing in the
- 23:37Speaker 1: Washington Hilton ballroom. You were right near those gunshots, weren't you.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Yeah. I was right at the back door, and I
- 23:44Speaker 2: heard those gunshots pretty clearly and looked up to the escalator.
- 23:51Speaker 2: That's the only way down into the ballroom, and I
- 23:54Speaker 2: knew there was a frank is going on upstairs. But
- 23:58Speaker 2: everybody dove under the table. You know, in hindsight, I
- 24:03Speaker 2: did not dive under the table. I wish I had.
- 24:06Speaker 2: I would have been there with Wolf Blitzer. Maybe we
- 24:09Speaker 2: could have had a chat. Was he was deeply embedded
- 24:13Speaker 2: under the table. You know, I never for one second
- 24:18Speaker 2: thought I was going to hit the carpet. You know,
- 24:22Speaker 2: it's a story. You got to see the story. And
- 24:25Speaker 2: then it happens so rapidly because after the gunshots couldn't
- 24:30Speaker 2: have been more than twenty seconds with the Secret Service
- 24:33Speaker 2: con barreling through the doors and down the aisle to
- 24:39Speaker 2: whisk President Trump away. So I hope everybody enjoyed themselves
- 24:46Speaker 2: under the table.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Well, now, but you were a war correspondent in the
- 24:51Speaker 1: middle of the Falkland's battles. You were in the middle
- 24:53Speaker 1: of covering riots. But so you're a trained war correspondent.
- 24:58Speaker 1: But if you're a TV anchor from MS now, you've
- 25:01Speaker 1: never been through that. So I guess that's why they
- 25:03Speaker 1: were under the table. They didn't know what else to do.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I just don't think I'm smart enough to go into
- 25:08Speaker 2: the table. As my son said to me, he said,
- 25:11Speaker 2: you're going to get your head balloon off. I said, look,
- 25:14Speaker 2: they've been trying to do it for fifty years, so anyway,
- 25:21Speaker 2: I don't I'm making fun of the people who hit
- 25:24Speaker 2: the ground. But they did the right thing, and you
- 25:27Speaker 2: want to get out of the fire zone. But my
- 25:31Speaker 2: first instinct is always to cover the story.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Yeah, they just explained to people that ballroom the way
- 25:37Speaker 1: it's set up, the tables are crammed together like you can't. Yeah,
- 25:41Speaker 1: you can barely walk between them. It's tough to get
- 25:43Speaker 1: out of that room.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Two thousand people in the ballroom, three thousand people upstairs
- 25:49Speaker 2: in the hotel rooms, five thousand all together. Nobody canntroll
- 25:54Speaker 2: a crowd like that. Nobody. Yeah, this was my I
- 25:58Speaker 2: think sixth dinner that I went to. And you know,
- 26:05Speaker 2: I never really said, like some people did, well the
- 26:09Speaker 2: security is this or that? I thought it was pretty
- 26:12Speaker 2: well designed. That guy had no chance to get down
- 26:16Speaker 2: a stairway into the ballroom none. So he's a loon
- 26:21Speaker 2: and he had to know that if he case the place,
- 26:25Speaker 2: the news is no way that he was going to
- 26:27Speaker 2: get down into the main lobby and then get down
- 26:31Speaker 2: an escalator. Whether we're eighteen checkpoints with secret Service in
- 26:36Speaker 2: US marshals, there's no way it could happen. But he
- 26:40Speaker 2: wanted to inject a terrifying scenario and he did.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but would you agree there's no way to ever
- 26:48Speaker 1: hold that event in a hotel with people.
- 26:51Speaker 2: That'll never happen again. And it also get Trump his
- 26:54Speaker 2: ballroom billed because it's too risky. Now there's just many
- 27:00Speaker 2: crazy people all over the place, and there are. And
- 27:04Speaker 2: my theory is social media is responsible for most of
- 27:08Speaker 2: that or much of it, but it's exacerbated by television
- 27:12Speaker 2: and you know, crazy idea logs all over the place,
- 27:16Speaker 2: not just on the left. But that's the primary melting
- 27:21Speaker 2: pot for them right now.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, with that ballroom, you know, the President says, well,
- 27:26Speaker 1: the East Room, you can only do one hundred and forty.
- 27:28Speaker 1: This will do two thousand people. Has he thought about
- 27:31Speaker 1: you also have to have parking spaces for two thousand cars.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I don't think you thought about that part, did he?
- 27:37Speaker 2: Well, are you talking about the blareroom at the White House? Yeah,
- 27:41Speaker 2: now you get there's no parking. You gotta walk it.
- 27:45Speaker 2: So you want to go to the White House, there's
- 27:46Speaker 2: no parking. You get out of your uber or wherever
- 27:50Speaker 2: you're going and you walk in. Yeah, so you know
- 27:53Speaker 2: to worry about that. There was parking at the hotel
- 27:58Speaker 2: underneath it. But I don't believe that was a fact.
- 28:01Speaker 2: That this guy got dropped off from the train station.
- 28:06Speaker 2: He went from the from Chicago to DC on the train,
- 28:13Speaker 2: got off the train, lugged his gear, checked into the
- 28:16Speaker 2: hotel a day before, and you know, obviously it was
- 28:20Speaker 2: planned out, but it was pretty poorly planned out.
- 28:24Speaker 1: So half an hour after the gunshots, what was going
- 28:27Speaker 1: on the bottom? Were people still there? And when did
- 28:29Speaker 1: you leave?
- 28:31Speaker 2: I left after I couldn't get any more information because
- 28:37Speaker 2: I had befriended a US Marshall who was giving me
- 28:42Speaker 2: pretty good information. At the point I was passing along
- 28:45Speaker 2: the News Nation, their correspondence were on the air. I
- 28:48Speaker 2: didn't want to hot shot it, so I gave them
- 28:52Speaker 2: the info that I had. So I was there, I
- 28:55Speaker 2: would say about twenty minutes watching journalist Steele want I
- 29:00Speaker 2: ain't off the table, which they did, and they absolutely did.
- 29:06Speaker 2: And uh then everybody filed out and the steak and
- 29:10Speaker 2: lobster was donated to almost I guess food places, which
- 29:16Speaker 2: is which is fine, But the whole thing was surrealed
- 29:20Speaker 2: to a lot of people. In fact, they got a
- 29:22Speaker 2: follow up quill the next day from News Nation and
- 29:26Speaker 2: he goes, are you okay? I said, look, I spent
- 29:29Speaker 2: time in El Salvador in jungles. This wasn't even close
- 29:35Speaker 2: to that. Okay, I'm fine, but thanks for asking.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Hey, let's change subjects. Bill O'Reilly, Jimmy Kimmel, you're the
- 29:42Speaker 1: chairman of Disney. What would you do? Would you take
- 29:44Speaker 1: him off the year?
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah? The first time Kimmel got into this kind of
- 29:49Speaker 2: trouble was Charlie Kirk and I cut him a little slack,
- 29:55Speaker 2: and I was wrong in doing that. The guy's just
- 29:58Speaker 2: a hater. So Michael is to Disney, not to Jimmy Kimmel.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Why is he on the air. So if you had
- 30:06Speaker 2: a conservative of a right winger every night spouting hate
- 30:11Speaker 2: against somebody on the left, you think that person be
- 30:13Speaker 2: on the air. No, okay, So I like an explanation
- 30:18Speaker 2: from Disney why this man is on the air. Not funny,
- 30:22Speaker 2: not a satirist. He's just there to mean the president
- 30:27Speaker 2: in the Office of the Presidency. That's all he's there
- 30:31Speaker 2: to do. He's got a very small audience, less than
- 30:34Speaker 2: two million. Okay. Why is he there for what reason? Disney?
- 30:40Speaker 2: I'm asking Disney, and they don't have a reason. I mean,
- 30:44Speaker 2: this has hurt their business, So what the deuce are
- 30:47Speaker 2: you doing?
- 30:49Speaker 5: Now?
- 30:49Speaker 2: I'm not a big censorship guys. You know people thrown
- 30:54Speaker 2: off the air because they mock politicians. I mock politicians
- 30:58Speaker 2: all the time. This guy's not in business to mark,
- 31:01Speaker 2: he's in business to hurt.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody put their sponsor list up. And I don't
- 31:07Speaker 1: believe in sponsor boycott. You shouldn't do that. But I'm
- 31:10Speaker 1: looking at the list McDonald's Chevy. Why are they advertising
- 31:13Speaker 1: on a show like that?
- 31:14Speaker 2: They bought bulk, which in the television industry. Then I
- 31:19Speaker 2: don't even know what they're buying. Yeah, they buy prime time,
- 31:23Speaker 2: they buy late night, they buy mornings. They're not going, oh,
- 31:28Speaker 2: let's advertise on Jimmy Kimmel. That doesn't happen. However, they
- 31:34Speaker 2: know they're on Jimmy Kimmel. The sponsors know, and they
- 31:41Speaker 2: don't care. And that's the big thing. Disney does not
- 31:46Speaker 2: care about this at all. If it did, Kimmel would
- 31:50Speaker 2: have been, you know, gone into Albuquerque after the Kirk thing.
- 31:57Speaker 2: They don't care.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, big ceremonies for King Charles Dinners receptions. I
- 32:04Speaker 1: see all the Democrats there, Pelosi. What happened to this
- 32:07Speaker 1: no kings thing? They're all over, slobbering all over King Charles.
- 32:11Speaker 2: They love the King. I kind of like him. I
- 32:14Speaker 2: never met him, but you know, as an Irish Catholic
- 32:19Speaker 2: don't we take Jim view of the British Royalty, that's
- 32:24Speaker 2: for sure. But I don't think he's a bad man.
- 32:29Speaker 2: He's done some good environmental work. I think he's got
- 32:31Speaker 2: problems with his kids, as everybody does. So he's over here,
- 32:37Speaker 2: but he's only here for one reason, and that's to
- 32:39Speaker 2: patch up the NATO thing with Trump. That's the only
- 32:43Speaker 2: reason he's here, and I hope they do. We need
- 32:48Speaker 2: the UK as our ally.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Hey Bill O'Reilly, you can go to Bill O'Reilly dot com.
- 32:53Speaker 1: You can see his TV show, get his column the
- 32:55Speaker 1: message of the Day. Watch his YouTube channel. There's great
- 32:58Speaker 1: content there and the new podcast, We'll do It Live.
- 33:01Speaker 1: The latest one is Janine Piro and what else you
- 33:04Speaker 1: got coming up on there?
- 33:07Speaker 2: We go week to week about I'm trying to contemporize it.
- 33:13Speaker 2: So we got lucky with Piro because she's deeply involved
- 33:17Speaker 2: now in the prosecution of this assassin and people didn't
- 33:24Speaker 2: really understand what she was doing there or what her
- 33:27Speaker 2: title was. Get lucky. But what I try to do
- 33:30Speaker 2: is we don't book ahead too much anymore. We're trying
- 33:34Speaker 2: to get right, cutting edge stuff and that's really working well.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I got a little plaque simone from YouTube congratulating me
- 33:43Speaker 2: for a million subs in record time, and now we
- 33:48Speaker 2: have close to two million. And the reason is that,
- 33:52Speaker 2: you know, when I interview somebody, it's no bs, I'm
- 33:55Speaker 2: not wasting your time. I'm getting where we're supposed to get.
- 34:00Speaker 2: And with that amount of time, it's kind of fun
- 34:04Speaker 2: because you can go a lot of different places.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Well, it's very good stuff. Everybody, go to Bill O'Reilly
- 34:09Speaker 1: on YouTube. Bill O'Reilly on YouTube, and we're going to
- 34:12Speaker 1: get your third plaque to make sure you yes, right.
- 34:16Speaker 2: We need as many plaques as we can get.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly on YouTube, and then billoreilly dot com. You
- 34:23Speaker 1: get everything else there. Hey, Rumor, is you got another
- 34:25Speaker 1: book you're working on?
- 34:27Speaker 2: Yeah, confronting America? What has to change? And beyond mid September,
- 34:34Speaker 2: that's when we try to do. Each September we try
- 34:38Speaker 2: to drop a book. I don't know how many more
- 34:40Speaker 2: I'm going to do that. It's hard with this one,
- 34:43Speaker 2: you know, really tough to write. But it links in
- 34:48Speaker 2: my experience, personal experience running around the world and meeting
- 34:54Speaker 2: all these people with how to solve the problems that
- 34:59Speaker 2: are vexing the United States, and I think people will
- 35:03Speaker 2: enjoy it because it's not just like, well, we got
- 35:07Speaker 2: to do this, this and this. I was here, This
- 35:10Speaker 2: is what happened this, this is screwed up, this is
- 35:14Speaker 2: who did well? You know, bum bum bum. Their's storytelling
- 35:18Speaker 2: involves here. So if it's the Lab's book, I'm going
- 35:21Speaker 2: out on fire.
- 35:23Speaker 1: It's never the last book. You always say that there'll
- 35:26Speaker 1: be many more books coming. But everybody, Hey, check out
- 35:30Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly on YouTube, watch the new podcast We'll do
- 35:33Speaker 1: It Live. Go to billoreilly dot com and get everything
- 35:36Speaker 1: there links to everything there. Bill O'Reilly, thanks for being with.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Us, Thanks for having me, Mark Well, I appreciate it.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Take care, Hey, coming up, don't forget at noon, Buck Sexton,
- 35:47Speaker 1: Clay Travis, and I. Most of you probably known, but
- 35:52Speaker 1: in case you don't know, Curtis Leiwa is back. He's
- 35:54Speaker 1: here every morning. It's Curtis Leewa and Larry Mente every
- 35:58Speaker 1: morning six to ten on seven w R.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Will Mark Simone Show continues WR.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Hey had so many things going on, we didn't really
- 36:09Speaker 1: get into this. We'll do it tomorrow. Anthony Fauci, you
- 36:13Speaker 1: remember that dirty, sleazy Anthony Fauci, his chief advisor, has
- 36:17Speaker 1: been indicted by the Department of Justice. You know, there
- 36:20Speaker 1: was a lot of funny business going on with that
- 36:23Speaker 1: Fauci and his team. This indictment has to do with
- 36:27Speaker 1: covering up the origins of the virus. It came from China,
- 36:30Speaker 1: it came from a lab in wu On, and they
- 36:34Speaker 1: were being accused of covering up that, covering up the
- 36:36Speaker 1: fact that they funded the lab funded the development of
- 36:40Speaker 1: the virus. The chief scientific advisor to Founcy, Fauci, has
- 36:46Speaker 1: been indicted. Now, usually they start low and indict their
- 36:50Speaker 1: way up the chain, so Fauci, this could be next.
- 36:53Speaker 1: We'll see what they get out of this guy. But
- 36:56Speaker 1: keep an eye on that developing story. King Charles address
- 37:00Speaker 1: Congress today, State Dinner tonight. He'll be in New York tomorrow,
- 37:03Speaker 1: which probably means some kind of traffic problem tomorrow in Manhattan. Hey,
- 37:08Speaker 1: we're out of time. Mark Simone here every day ten
- 37:11Speaker 1: to noon or listen anytime you want, day or night.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Just get the podcast. See tomorrow. I'll be back at
- 37:18Speaker 1: ten on seven to ten. Wo
