- 2:13Speaker 2: talking and not looking.
- 2:15Speaker 6: We always like will be able to we're able to
- 2:16Speaker 6: glance at each other, but when when we're in the studio,
- 2:19Speaker 6: but right now we can't because I have to keep
- 2:21Speaker 6: my eyes.
- 2:21Speaker 5: On the road.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It feels more awkward, you know.
- 2:25Speaker 6: And the funny thing is is like with the whole
- 2:27Speaker 6: Passenger Princess show, I've been wanting to do and like
- 2:29Speaker 6: have filmed or whatever. Yeah, solo. I did one solo
- 2:32Speaker 6: and it was easiest thing. Everyone I was like sick,
- 2:34Speaker 6: I know I can do it solo. And I really
- 2:35Speaker 6: thought doing it with a guest would be easy because
- 2:37Speaker 6: like I find talking and driving you can like.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Talk real easy, but maybe you won't maybe not.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I feel like just because I don't know something about
- 2:45Speaker 1: a camera and if someone is not like used to
- 2:47Speaker 1: the camera will probably get a bit nervous. Yeah, but
- 2:50Speaker 1: everyone might be wondering why are we driving?
- 2:55Speaker 2: Why are they driving?
- 2:56Speaker 1: If you're an audio listener, we're in Jake's car and
- 2:58Speaker 1: we're on our way to my favorite place in the world,
- 3:00Speaker 1: and I know it's got a high place on Jake's restaurants.
- 3:03Speaker 1: We are going to Corismond why Gomez to pick up
- 3:06Speaker 1: some food for the work Christmas party and.
- 3:10Speaker 2: On the way.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll do it when we get to like terrible, Okay,
- 3:15Speaker 1: let's do my favorite activity.
- 3:17Speaker 2: This is like really good good day for me.
- 3:19Speaker 5: I hate I think it's the funniest thing. Ever, what
- 3:22Speaker 5: we're gonna do.
- 3:22Speaker 1: What we're going to do is lowball some people on
- 3:25Speaker 1: Facebook marketplace, and this is the start of the We'll
- 3:28Speaker 1: go back to the studio, have a bit more of
- 3:30Speaker 1: the normal episode essence, and at the end see if
- 3:33Speaker 1: anyone replied.
- 3:35Speaker 6: The whole episode won't be in the car start, start,
- 3:39Speaker 6: and then the end. So what do you want, Jake?
- 3:44Speaker 6: Is anything particularly you've wanted for Christmas? What I mentioned
- 3:48Speaker 6: it might be a tax deduction.
- 3:49Speaker 2: So might be what are you talking about? This is
- 3:51Speaker 2: our Christmas party?
- 3:55Speaker 6: What have I been wanting? It's actually a great question.
- 3:59Speaker 6: I really wish I thought about this war going into it.
- 4:01Speaker 6: But you know how you were talking about it wanting
- 4:02Speaker 6: like an old final you wan thing.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Okay, so you want like an old vinyl player, because.
- 4:08Speaker 5: Then I want to have an excuse to have vinyls
- 4:10Speaker 5: hung up on my wall.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, old record player. Let's see what we've got.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Do you want one that works or not?
- 4:15Speaker 2: Ah? Look no, I.
- 4:18Speaker 5: Just want to have it sitting somewhere where people can see.
- 4:20Speaker 2: So then when they see the viral of war. What
- 4:23Speaker 2: one hundred? This one hundred, let's go fifty yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 6: It'd be like been looking for one for ages like
- 4:31Speaker 6: Christmas after Christmas.
- 4:33Speaker 2: It's a bit tight, but like fifty is all I
- 4:35Speaker 2: can spendy.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Hey, Frank, wonderful piece. Been looking for a beauty like this.
- 4:42Speaker 6: Brain hit him with a straight up fifty percent discount.
- 4:49Speaker 6: The thing about Marketplace, though, is like I've sold stuff.
- 4:52Speaker 2: On there before. I full sold a car Marketplace once.
- 4:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I've sold stuff on there, and I'll put it
- 4:59Speaker 6: up for double water.
- 5:00Speaker 2: True.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Well, this is already reduced from three hundred.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Frank's been center message.
- 5:05Speaker 2: She was up for one hundred, and we've low board
- 5:06Speaker 2: a half price.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Old player her down to fifty fingers across.
- 5:10Speaker 2: What about you?
- 5:10Speaker 1: Okay, this is a red flag, but I want to
- 5:13Speaker 1: get my hands on an Xbox again an Xbox, and
- 5:17Speaker 1: not for particularly gaming reasons, but one friend in particular
- 5:20Speaker 1: we always like used to play Fortnite and had the
- 5:23Speaker 1: best conversation that we kind of need an excuse, just
- 5:25Speaker 1: like calling shop and talk for like two hours. Is
- 5:27Speaker 1: that gaffy?
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 5:28Speaker 1: So I want to buy an Xbox Xbox over the holidays,
- 5:32Speaker 1: Like I've got a bit of free time, so I'm
- 5:34Speaker 1: gonna play Fortnite with him, and I don't have one anymore.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So I thought i'd low boll some people want here.
- 5:38Speaker 1: So we got new Xbox series as two fifty. What
- 5:41Speaker 1: should I lowball Lisa? She's listed for her son. How
- 5:45Speaker 1: much to video?
- 5:46Speaker 2: To video?
- 5:48Speaker 5: Hit her with, Yeah, one hundred and fifty. That's a steal,
- 5:52Speaker 5: is it?
- 5:52Speaker 2: Like?
- 5:53Speaker 1: Good? Nick?
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah? How much is a brand new one? Like four
- 5:56Speaker 2: fifty eight? Five hundred?
- 5:57Speaker 1: You know what?
- 5:58Speaker 2: That's cheaper than I thought. For some reason, I thought
- 5:59Speaker 2: it'd be like a thousand bucks. I don't think this
- 6:01Speaker 2: is the newest one. I'm not, but this will do
- 6:03Speaker 2: the job for me. I don't need the newest one.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I actually saved a few Xboxes ready for this because
- 6:07Speaker 1: I was ready or so, we just get to message
- 6:09Speaker 1: a bunch of people.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but I want to do the ones that are
- 6:11Speaker 2: on the central coast. The entrance here we go one
- 6:13Speaker 2: to eighty.
- 6:14Speaker 1: That's a bit of a mid one, but it comes
- 6:16Speaker 1: with controllers and everything can control everything.
- 6:19Speaker 2: The controls are expensive, aren't there?
- 6:20Speaker 7: Like eighty bucks? Well, here's its heaps cool turntable. Why
- 6:23Speaker 7: is it Sydney or I go to Sydney Heat. That's
- 6:25Speaker 7: pretty cool. That actually looks like it works. Yeah, it's
- 6:28Speaker 7: a Sony one. Let's bucks. Yeah, give them Tiffany. We've
- 6:32Speaker 7: got a cool Sony bluetooth turntable for Jake.
- 6:34Speaker 6: Biggest tip for marketplaces straight up fifty.
- 6:40Speaker 5: First off, its covering of the world. I am anything
- 6:43Speaker 5: else you want?
- 6:43Speaker 1: So we've got two xboxes message for me and two
- 6:46Speaker 1: turntables message for you.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah, what else?
- 6:48Speaker 1: Do you feel like?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Fuck? What we have? We did? We end up buying
- 6:54Speaker 2: a camera off marketplace or as did the guy be fake? Nah?
- 6:57Speaker 2: It was fake? It was fake.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Yeah. I asked for proof of a video and it
- 7:00Speaker 1: was sent to me. Then I questioned market didn't do it?
- 7:02Speaker 2: He noticed that he's fake. He's been caught out. What
- 7:04Speaker 2: would you like to order? My friend? I'm feeling, oh
- 7:09Speaker 2: I made my order.
- 7:10Speaker 5: For a while, there was like the chicken tenders and
- 7:12Speaker 5: ship but I'm a bit of them.
- 7:14Speaker 4: I'm thinking I need to go a chicken nacho fries,
- 7:18Speaker 4: Najo fries. Yeah, I can do that, nancho fries and
- 7:22Speaker 4: just chicken. Yeah, chicken mild nacho fries.
- 7:25Speaker 5: Bang.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Do you want to drink or anything? Meal? I don't
- 7:27Speaker 2: think so good.
- 7:30Speaker 1: And I will get classic chicken Nacho's connected with the
- 7:34Speaker 1: GYG processing your order?
- 7:38Speaker 6: Productive? This is a productive talk. This, this would be
- 7:41Speaker 6: good talking about GYG. Right, yeah, so Beth's roommate her
- 7:48Speaker 6: she has a I think it was I think it's
- 7:50Speaker 6: her cousin.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Her cousin's mum, so her auntie. I don't know why
- 7:53Speaker 2: they said that.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Her auntie is the personal assistant, right, the head personal
- 8:02Speaker 6: assistant to the CEO of guzmanis you got to connect it?
- 8:07Speaker 6: And I was like, wait, so you're telling me I
- 8:10Speaker 6: have a connection to the head of Guzman. We got
- 8:13Speaker 6: I reckon that's a podcast episode and I was like, fuck,
- 8:16Speaker 6: please give me connected Wait, biggest pet peeve.
- 8:19Speaker 2: They surely they should have gone and then look like yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 2: old fuck that guy wasn't was not making any quickness anytime.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah no, no, no, no no.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Ship.
- 8:32Speaker 2: So yeah, we.
- 8:32Speaker 6: Will have a connection to I have a close connection
- 8:37Speaker 6: to his PA, which is I guess the best person
- 8:39Speaker 6: to be in contact with.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I think you reckon, You've got to do that. You
- 8:42Speaker 2: like you've got a part. If we want to talk
- 8:43Speaker 2: about g y g apparently he's he's American.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Oh really, yeah, that'd be mad interesting. Imagine like the
- 8:49Speaker 1: title owner of Guzman y Gomes.
- 8:51Speaker 5: The biggest Mexican chain in Australia.
- 8:54Speaker 2: It would be bad interesting.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I would be interested in finding out like how it
- 8:56Speaker 1: all started, because it was a tiny franchise that started.
- 8:58Speaker 1: It has taken off.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Yeah when they started.
- 9:01Speaker 6: Because they're on like the Australian Stock Exchange, now they'd
- 9:03Speaker 6: be here huge. Now we could go buy stocks and
- 9:06Speaker 6: goozman the great idea wit Guzman's only going up?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yeah, oh that's a great idea.
- 9:12Speaker 6: Related rules savings account all into goodsman.
- 9:16Speaker 2: What the fuck are we not think of this? They're
- 9:18Speaker 2: on the stock exchange. We want to get into stock.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Wait, it's tax deduction on the pod. Let's right, maybe
- 9:24Speaker 1: I can look it up right now?
- 9:25Speaker 6: How else do we how do we trade in the
- 9:28Speaker 6: ASX Australian Stock Exchange.
- 9:30Speaker 1: This is a sid moment because I was literally set
- 9:32Speaker 1: up my account for the stock market last night.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Or you're gonna do some stocks?
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yeah, just before I was just like learning about it,
- 9:37Speaker 1: said goozmin wagos.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Let me look at much.
- 9:39Speaker 6: It's the Australian Stock Exchange, mates, mate, you can fool
- 9:42Speaker 6: how much is it?
- 9:43Speaker 1: Person stock? Forty dollars?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Mate? Low price?
- 9:47Speaker 1: Oh, it's at a high at the moment. Okay, we'll wait,
- 9:49Speaker 1: wait that a little low. It was at forty four
- 9:50Speaker 1: an ounce on? Is it forty four in June? And
- 9:53Speaker 1: now it's on forty?
- 9:54Speaker 2: Mate? Let's put like ten grand into this shit that
- 9:58Speaker 2: that's so sick. They've gone up heaps.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Five years they've gone up like, what's that fifty? That's heck,
- 10:06Speaker 1: imagine another five years we put ten green, We'll got fifteen.
- 10:09Speaker 5: Let's bucking point some money in and then forget about it.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Imagine your kids, like how did you build all your wealth?
- 10:15Speaker 1: Father?
- 10:16Speaker 2: Let me tell you about good. We're a whale in good? Oh,
- 10:20Speaker 2: I know, whait storyline? We buy a gooseman's.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Stock, We get this guy on the podcast and then
- 10:26Speaker 1: we tell them how much to stock. We own him, Like,
- 10:27Speaker 1: can we make some decisions about what goes on the menu?
- 10:30Speaker 2: We are yes, zero points zero zero three percent of.
- 10:34Speaker 6: And we feel we deserve to at least make one decision,
- 10:36Speaker 6: something small.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Let us choose what color of the straws.
- 10:39Speaker 5: Let's do something or different cover sauce.
- 10:42Speaker 2: They actually don't have many sources. Noon they could change that.
- 10:45Speaker 6: We could come together and we could think of something
- 10:47Speaker 6: store what an idea if?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Okay? Also how about no, I don't know if they've
- 10:52Speaker 2: done this yet.
- 10:53Speaker 6: The decision that we want to make is they start
- 10:56Speaker 6: selling the chipotlee mayo.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Because we've wanted that forever. They do, Oh, they do it,
- 11:02Speaker 2: but I mean, like you can buy a jar of it.
- 11:04Speaker 2: That's a great idea. We need them to do that.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that Chipolmo is like boy and crack. I think
- 11:09Speaker 1: this would be the funnest episode ever. We get the
- 11:11Speaker 1: history of goods and then.
- 11:13Speaker 6: We're like, look, we didn't want to say this, but
- 11:16Speaker 6: we actually own somebody.
- 11:19Speaker 5: How much do you do.
- 11:22Speaker 2: These guys need to make a decision.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Holy ship, he's got laughed at good.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Are you coming in? We had to go take my off.
- 11:45Speaker 2: He's coming out.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Look where is he he's walked away.
- 11:59Speaker 5: He's bad, He's back.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Was that embarrassing? A few locks?
- 12:05Speaker 6: A few lassa, did you get a few laughs?
- 12:12Speaker 1: We're back on?
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, young people were looking at us will laughing.
- 12:15Speaker 1: But that's what lies about living baby.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Okay, I think.
- 12:20Speaker 2: We have a quie.
- 12:21Speaker 6: Okay, guys who've acquired the goods, we have acquired heart
- 12:24Speaker 6: back on. We've acquired the goods. Back to the studio.
- 12:28Speaker 6: It's a race, and we are back. Everybody in the
- 12:39Speaker 6: studio hopefully sounding a bit better.
- 12:41Speaker 1: This is this season two. Be jolly, look at the studio.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Guys.
- 12:44Speaker 6: If you're listening to this on Christmas Day, then.
- 12:47Speaker 1: You're a real one. We went all out.
- 12:49Speaker 6: It's crazy that one of the days we posted actually
- 12:51Speaker 6: landed on Christmas Day.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Crazy. We planned that. Yeah, pretty far advance, literally like
- 12:58Speaker 1: choosing and choosing the choosing the days of what we
- 13:01Speaker 1: post when we post. So that's a perg of posting
- 13:04Speaker 1: two episodes a week. It's more likely. Yeah, true, there's
- 13:07Speaker 1: fifty chance. Yeah, actually no, wait is there because seven
- 13:11Speaker 1: days in a week don't do the mass man.
- 13:15Speaker 6: But if you guys are here on Christmas, then we
- 13:17Speaker 6: understand that not everyone celebrates Christmas. Different religions don't celebrate Christmas,
- 13:21Speaker 6: and if you do, sometimes Christmas isn't always fun for everyone.
- 13:25Speaker 6: So we wanted to come on here for all the
- 13:27Speaker 6: people that have a good Christmas, have a Christmas that
- 13:29Speaker 6: maybe they want to escape or they don't celebrate Christmas
- 13:32Speaker 6: and they still want something to do. Because everyone's like Christmas, Christmas, Christmas.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I feel like even if you do have a good Christmas,
- 13:37Speaker 1: sometimes you want to escape it anyway. Facts because of
- 13:41Speaker 1: all the family, they just want to go in your room,
- 13:42Speaker 1: watch the YouTube and be like, leave me alone. Christmas
- 13:45Speaker 1: for me is always GiB me my snacks. You just
- 13:47Speaker 1: gave me.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Be alone.
- 13:49Speaker 6: In Australia, a lot of the time you get gifted
- 13:51Speaker 6: like a stocking stuffer. It's like one of those stocking
- 13:54Speaker 6: shaped things full of chocolates.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Finish it on the day. I was going to get
- 13:57Speaker 1: you one of them for your Christmas really, but I didn't.
- 14:00Speaker 1: But I did it, Okay. So this episode is going
- 14:03Speaker 1: to be a little bit different, a bit more lax.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Or turn the Christmas light on in the middle, Oh,
- 14:08Speaker 1: the Christmas tree on PowerPoint to your right.
- 14:12Speaker 2: We've got a.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Christmas tree in the middle so anti. I thought that
- 14:16Speaker 1: was gonna be sick. The lights behind it just like
- 14:20Speaker 1: outdo it, Yeah exactly, how funny. But we're just gonna
- 14:22Speaker 1: vibe out, reflect on the year. And this is basically
- 14:26Speaker 1: what's our work Christmas party. Yeah, that's what you guys
- 14:29Speaker 1: heard it least, And you guys are invited because we've.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Never record it's a Saturday night right now. Obviously we're
- 14:33Speaker 6: recording this before Christmas because we can't do it live.
- 14:35Speaker 1: It's going to be relaxed, me and Jack talking having
- 14:39Speaker 1: a bit of fun. Do you want to start with presents? Yes? Okay?
- 14:43Speaker 1: Do you want me to go first or you I think.
- 14:45Speaker 6: I want to go first because mine is like one
- 14:49Speaker 6: of them is kind of cool, little gimmicky, and then
- 14:51Speaker 6: the other one that's supposed to be the good ones
- 14:52Speaker 6: like Andy climactic.
- 14:53Speaker 1: But you're just gonna be like, oh thanks, okay, sweet,
- 14:55Speaker 1: because and I think that yours is yours. I want
- 14:57Speaker 1: you to go first. I don't have to get up
- 14:58Speaker 1: and move it. Oh okay, okay, this is what I oh,
- 15:04Speaker 1: no gout down there the tinsel.
- 15:07Speaker 6: This is my present to you Ati No mummy, mummy,
- 15:11Speaker 6: I got a card that says mummy, shit, oh shit,
- 15:14Speaker 6: I didn't get you a card.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I might Actually this is kind of annoying me. That's better,
- 15:20Speaker 1: That's way better, okay, mummy? Oh is this they know?
- 15:25Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:25Speaker 1: You go for it doesn't matter. Westfield Digital card, fifty dollars,
- 15:29Speaker 1: let's go. I had to print it because you can
- 15:34Speaker 1: choose when it gets emailed to you so you can
- 15:37Speaker 1: redeem it.
- 15:38Speaker 6: But I couldn't choose a specific time, so if I
- 15:41Speaker 6: chose today, it would have just got emailed you would
- 15:43Speaker 6: a random time. And I was like, well, I'm just
- 15:45Speaker 6: gonna have to choose the day after and give him.
- 15:48Speaker 1: You screenshot at a twenty card. But then it says fifty,
- 15:50Speaker 1: which is it?
- 15:51Speaker 6: It's fifty okay, yeah, it's fifty. But so tomorrow at
- 15:55Speaker 6: ten am you should receive an email thank you very much. Man.
- 15:59Speaker 6: I did the same with my parents. I got them
- 16:01Speaker 6: both because they're moving to Queensland.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I got them both.
- 16:04Speaker 6: I combined like two hundred and fifty dollars voucher for
- 16:06Speaker 6: a local massage place. Oh and I got to choose
- 16:09Speaker 6: the exact date and time they get the email seven
- 16:12Speaker 6: am Christmas morning and when they arrive in my door
- 16:15Speaker 6: they should be gett an email.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Wy They're going to think you're a genius. I know
- 16:18Speaker 1: so hopefully not in that technology. But the mess place is,
- 16:21Speaker 1: isn't that weird? That's so weird. I was like, this
- 16:23Speaker 1: is so annoying. But so that we had one hundred
- 16:25Speaker 1: dollars budget each, I think I went under. Really, Yeah,
- 16:28Speaker 1: that's what you wanted. Oh sick a blender. Oh that's
- 16:37Speaker 1: that's cool. I've seen these before. It's a miniature blender,
- 16:39Speaker 1: miniature blender. That's very cool. Pre workout. Oh that's a
- 16:42Speaker 1: good idea. That's what I got it for. I just
- 16:44Speaker 1: saw it. I was at the I was at the
- 16:45Speaker 1: checkout at a TK Max.
- 16:47Speaker 6: Yeah, and I saw it and I was like, I
- 16:49Speaker 6: had paid and everything, and I was looking at it,
- 16:50Speaker 6: and the lady was looking at me, and I go,
- 16:52Speaker 6: I'm gonna.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Get that's very cool. I've seen something similar before. Yeah,
- 16:56Speaker 1: I like that. That's cool. And with there's something else
- 16:59Speaker 1: in here, Satteryes, for key, this even even works. To
- 17:05Speaker 1: be fair, let me get you your present mine.
- 17:08Speaker 8: I have to get up, all right, assume you guys
- 17:16Speaker 8: guys hear me put it on camera.
- 17:19Speaker 2: This is Jake's president and.
- 17:23Speaker 1: At my feet yeah, yeah, yeah, at your feet like this,
- 17:25Speaker 1: and let me explain it before you open it. Oh ship, okay, okay, Actually,
- 17:32Speaker 1: what do you think it is? I think.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Heavy?
- 17:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I think this is a tennis racket, A tennis racket,
- 17:48Speaker 1: that's what you've used. Tennis racket. No, it's not a
- 17:50Speaker 1: US tennis racket.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:52Speaker 1: You can see it's in a basket. Does that give
- 17:54Speaker 1: anything away? It could be just a gift basket. What
- 17:57Speaker 1: were the it was called a bur bar. What are
- 18:00Speaker 1: they called what? I wanted to do my own spin
- 18:04Speaker 1: on it and do it. I was going to call
- 18:06Speaker 1: it like a ger basket or a basket for daddy.
- 18:10Speaker 1: But it's a basket of things. I thought you'd like.
- 18:11Speaker 6: This is genius, way better than my gift.
- 18:20Speaker 9: What, Audie, You're way better at gifting than I am.
- 18:26Speaker 9: Who guys, guys, stop, look at that tobler.
- 18:33Speaker 2: It's a meter a long.
- 18:34Speaker 1: How sick is that? That is sick?
- 18:38Speaker 6: Second thing in your body's gone hand links theodoran can't
- 18:42Speaker 6: go wrong with link The.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Only Africa made.
- 18:46Speaker 6: This squish melon squish Marlowe, Oh, this is so.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Cool, baby, Yoda. I thought it was cool. I saw that.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I was like.
- 18:55Speaker 6: Okay, that's also hectic.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Love a little bit of lego. This so sick, and
- 19:02Speaker 1: shout out to one of the listeners in the Facebook
- 19:05Speaker 1: Baddies group chat who said I should get that for Jake.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I was like, came up the other day and I
- 19:09Speaker 1: was like, there it is. I have to get it.
- 19:11Speaker 6: So I've got a scrub daddy pack household dust, scrub
- 19:16Speaker 6: scour or score. So I've got something to clean like
- 19:19Speaker 6: a barbecue, tough shit dust. The dust one's interesting.
- 19:23Speaker 1: That's cool. School full srub daddy. That's what I was
- 19:26Speaker 1: going to call it a du basket too, because it's
- 19:27Speaker 1: srub daddy scrub daddy basket.
- 19:29Speaker 6: Oh fuck yeah, guys, spider Man mug very cool, knows
- 19:34Speaker 6: me so well.
- 19:35Speaker 1: This is hectic. That's so sick. And there was my
- 19:39Speaker 1: presence suck. That's all right, man. I got a fifty gift.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I can go buy these things. I can buy a
- 19:47Speaker 1: meat a long toblaone. But I was going to get
- 19:50Speaker 1: you actually, and it didn't come in time. So this
- 19:51Speaker 1: was my second idea. If you guys can see on
- 19:54Speaker 1: the video underneath these microphones, did you when you filled in?
- 19:58Speaker 1: Jake's been filling our tax thing that I didn't the
- 20:00Speaker 1: answers to did you see anything on there? I just
- 20:03Speaker 1: wake to the empty ones that you were that you
- 20:05Speaker 1: hadn't done. I was like, oh, he's done the rest.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I don't need to said what I bought.
- 20:07Speaker 6: I was like, I don't need to fucking read when
- 20:10Speaker 6: I don't need to read, Like why would I read this?
- 20:12Speaker 1: I ordered for the bottom of our microphones, like a
- 20:14Speaker 1: relatables are display, So that's going on here and it's
- 20:17Speaker 1: just a little plate. Yeah, so you won't see all
- 20:19Speaker 1: these buttons underneath our microphone, just the little details. And
- 20:22Speaker 1: I got that, but it didn't come in time. That
- 20:24Speaker 1: is so cool. But I got one of them for
- 20:25Speaker 1: myself too, so I didn't really count.
- 20:27Speaker 6: That's good too, because like I don't. I've never been
- 20:29Speaker 6: a fan of a fully custom microphones people have.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I like the black, I went, well, I went full
- 20:34Speaker 1: black and then a blue eye. Yeah, and I was
- 20:37Speaker 1: going to put in the details like match the black
- 20:39Speaker 1: of the shore, but surely they do that. The sure
- 20:41Speaker 1: microlane is black is black exactly. So I'm excited for
- 20:45Speaker 1: that to come. Merry Christmas, man, and Merry Christmas to
- 20:48Speaker 1: you and everyone else. Is the season two be jolly.
- 20:50Speaker 1: It feels good. I don't know, it feels good. I've
- 20:52Speaker 1: always feel awkward opening presents and then especially I don't
- 20:55Speaker 1: know when like people are watching like a whole family
- 20:57Speaker 1: or even like a camera, But I really enjoy someone
- 20:59Speaker 1: open your presence and seeing like the smile on their face.
- 21:02Speaker 6: Mm hmm, yeah, now I agree, like I kind of.
- 21:07Speaker 6: The only time I'm not a fan of when someone
- 21:09Speaker 6: opens a present i've bought them is when I'm like,
- 21:13Speaker 6: this was last minute, and straight away it's either going
- 21:19Speaker 6: to hit or they're going to think this was last Yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. But sometimes last
- 21:26Speaker 1: minute is really good because usually it's cash good point
- 21:29Speaker 1: and I love a bit of cash.
- 21:31Speaker 6: Were we recording we were doing the podcast when when
- 21:34Speaker 6: I did this? So one year I got my younger
- 21:36Speaker 6: brother and my younger sister. I just gave him fifty
- 21:38Speaker 6: dollars each. And I don't know if I said it
- 21:40Speaker 6: on the podcast or not. If you're an OG listener
- 21:42Speaker 6: who has a.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Good memory, I know what you're gonna say.
- 21:44Speaker 1: You will know this if I said it, and so
- 21:47Speaker 1: I did.
- 21:47Speaker 6: I bought one of them, got to fifty dollars note
- 21:50Speaker 6: and it was in a box in a box, in
- 21:52Speaker 6: a box in a box, and I think I had
- 21:54Speaker 6: like eight boxes and they had to open like eight.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Different presents and they were like by the end, Hayley
- 21:57Speaker 1: was like rolling her eyes.
- 21:59Speaker 6: The fifty dollars wasn't even worth it. She was like,
- 22:01Speaker 6: I had to work for that. And then my younger brother.
- 22:04Speaker 6: It was like a little ball of wrapping paper and
- 22:06Speaker 6: each layer had a dollar or a two dollar coin
- 22:09Speaker 6: that equated up to fifty bucks. And at the end
- 22:11Speaker 6: of it, I had a fifty dollar note and I
- 22:12Speaker 6: was like, oh, here, I'll switch youer, you can give
- 22:14Speaker 6: me the coin, and he goes, no, I want the coins.
- 22:17Speaker 1: He kept the fucking coin good.
- 22:18Speaker 2: It's like a kid thing to do.
- 22:20Speaker 1: And yeah, so he just got to open up this thing.
- 22:22Speaker 1: We're just like to be fair, you wrapping fifty one
- 22:25Speaker 1: dollar coins. That's a lot of effort. Wouldn't call it
- 22:27Speaker 1: last minute.
- 22:28Speaker 6: No, I mean it wasn't a last minute get yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 6: like I had the idea for ages. Yeah, but I
- 22:32Speaker 6: just remember being like, it's like low effort. Yeah, but
- 22:35Speaker 6: it was funny to see with them, like opening.
- 22:37Speaker 1: It up, high reward in the end. But one thing
- 22:39Speaker 1: about your present. I need the basketback. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 1: I took that off my mum.
- 22:44Speaker 2: At the end.
- 22:46Speaker 1: No drama, just see though. But what are we gonna
- 22:51Speaker 1: do on today's episode, Jake, I a bit of reminiscing. Yeah,
- 22:54Speaker 1: let's reflect on our year. We've had a big year
- 22:58Speaker 1: and it's down to everyone listening, which was so grateful
- 23:00Speaker 1: for And what in particular stood out for you?
- 23:04Speaker 6: I mean when we went on, we got flown to
- 23:06Speaker 6: a couple places, which was pretty sick.
- 23:08Speaker 1: But I think, honestly, like that my one of my
- 23:14Speaker 1: favorite things.
- 23:16Speaker 6: More will probably come to me as we like talk,
- 23:19Speaker 6: but I got to say, like this studio getting it ready,
- 23:25Speaker 6: having the ideas, like brainstorming with each other what we
- 23:28Speaker 6: want to have.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Like and doing it.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Like.
- 23:31Speaker 6: Here's what also happened was like we stopped working at
- 23:34Speaker 6: a time where we probably actually couldn't have. Like we
- 23:37Speaker 6: got kind of lucky with like the times payments came
- 23:40Speaker 6: in for stuff to be able to actually kind of
- 23:42Speaker 6: like keep work, keep like not working and paying ourselves
- 23:45Speaker 6: a little bit. But then also just like spending bulk
- 23:49Speaker 6: money on the gear without actually really having the money. Yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 6: and I remember actually what ended up happening was it
- 23:54Speaker 6: took ages to get this done because we were waiting
- 23:57Speaker 6: to be paid for something and we couldn't finish it.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Yeah, we didn't have enough money. Yeah, I forgot about
- 24:02Speaker 1: that too. Yeah, And I remember our cameras. This isn't
- 24:05Speaker 1: like a flex of money at all. But our cameras
- 24:07Speaker 1: are like worth a bit under two grand each. I
- 24:11Speaker 1: think maybe the three they no, they hacked it about
- 24:13Speaker 1: two and a half grand each. We had the two
- 24:15Speaker 1: of them. There's not a flex and we couldn't afford
- 24:18Speaker 1: to buy them, but we want like the best studio
- 24:21Speaker 1: for you guys listening. And we were owed money from
- 24:23Speaker 1: a company, and we spent all of our first paycheck
- 24:25Speaker 1: on the cameras as soon as it came in, so dumb,
- 24:28Speaker 1: like instead of like going probably reasonable cameras, getting like
- 24:31Speaker 1: a thousand dollars ones, we went like for like I'm
- 24:34Speaker 1: big four, buy once and buy right, like we would
- 24:36Speaker 1: never have to buy them again. Yeah, yeah, really exactly,
- 24:39Speaker 1: But I do now. I remember when we had no
- 24:41Speaker 1: money and we'll like live, we'll pay our what were
- 24:43Speaker 1: we paying ourselves at the start, Like I think for
- 24:45Speaker 1: a while we just would pay ourselves kind of when
- 24:47Speaker 1: we had money that we could go two weeks without
- 24:48Speaker 1: being paid.
- 24:49Speaker 6: Yeah, that and we would just kind of try and
- 24:51Speaker 6: then yeah, another big thing this year. Or do you
- 24:54Speaker 6: have a favorite moment.
- 24:57Speaker 2: That was a good one.
- 24:57Speaker 1: I don't know if I can, I won't lie.
- 24:58Speaker 6: Like meeting shits and gigs for me is a very
- 25:00Speaker 6: surreal moment.
- 25:01Speaker 1: That was bloody surreal. That was in November though, that
- 25:04Speaker 1: was near the end. I think my now that you mentioned,
- 25:08Speaker 1: I don't want to steal your moment. But having our
- 25:11Speaker 1: own studio, yeah, after recording in like we've recorded in
- 25:15Speaker 1: La bally different studios in Sydney, Melbourne, Melbourne hotel rooms,
- 25:22Speaker 1: We've recorded in a lot of studios maybe of a
- 25:24Speaker 1: ten and just having like a place to call your own. Oh,
- 25:28Speaker 1: and like we can do whatever we want in here
- 25:30Speaker 1: and feel comfortable. It's sort of like have you I
- 25:32Speaker 1: don't know, when you move out for the first time
- 25:34Speaker 1: and you have your own space. That's the same equivalent,
- 25:37Speaker 1: and like we have your own space, we can do
- 25:38Speaker 1: what we want. I feel so safe in here and
- 25:40Speaker 1: like I can talk about anything, and just like I
- 25:42Speaker 1: can be myself in here. Not that I don't feel
- 25:44Speaker 1: that in other places, but I feel it more here.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I Ah, god, I it's got a homey feeling in here.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Doesn't know when we were like we know it's our
- 25:52Speaker 1: yeah exactly.
- 25:53Speaker 6: And also I think recording in other places makes us
- 25:56Speaker 6: appreciate this one.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yeah, we've done with like guys like not to tote
- 25:59Speaker 1: our own hall. We've done well with our first.
- 26:01Speaker 6: Studio actually, yeah, like accidentally figuring out how to do it.
- 26:04Speaker 6: Like we've been to studios right, really good ones, like
- 26:06Speaker 6: even there's some there's a beauty in having all your
- 26:09Speaker 6: own stuff and like having your own studio we found
- 26:11Speaker 6: because so we have we have our cameras and we
- 26:16Speaker 6: all the footage is like produced and then like processed
- 26:18Speaker 6: by us after the fact, so we get the highest
- 26:21Speaker 6: quality footage right from the camera, whereas a lot of places,
- 26:26Speaker 6: like the camera footage is being fed and while it's
- 26:29Speaker 6: being fed into like this like storage system, it's being proxied,
- 26:32Speaker 6: which makes it so it's like a lower amount of
- 26:34Speaker 6: gigabytes so you can download it quicker, but it takes
- 26:37Speaker 6: away a bit of the quality. And like wait, Spotify
- 26:41Speaker 6: studios in La Yeah, I was thinking like, oh, they've
- 26:47Speaker 6: got all the money in the world, they're going to
- 26:49Speaker 6: have figured out a way to make it so it
- 26:50Speaker 6: was a small fucking gigabyte, a small amount of gigabytes
- 26:53Speaker 6: and still just better quality than us.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Yeah no blurry. Yeah, we could have footage and it
- 26:59Speaker 1: was blurry. I think that might have been down to
- 27:02Speaker 1: like we got in that studio last minute. Yeah true,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I'm going to given benefit of the debt, but we've
- 27:06Speaker 1: had like other studios which worth like hundreds of thousands
- 27:09Speaker 1: of dollars. We get the footage, like made it like
- 27:13Speaker 1: house looks better. I guess we're trying to be blown
- 27:17Speaker 1: away eage time and like we've done really well, so
- 27:19Speaker 1: I think a place to call our own. And also,
- 27:21Speaker 1: like we found out this year, there's a lot of
- 27:23Speaker 1: value in doing things yourself. I'm trying to think of,
- 27:26Speaker 1: like what's something relatable for people listening, But a lot
- 27:30Speaker 1: of podcasts, like there's two hosts and they come in
- 27:33Speaker 1: and their pure job is to talk to each other,
- 27:35Speaker 1: which I'm sure works for a lot of people. But
- 27:37Speaker 1: we found so much benefit and merit in knowing the
- 27:41Speaker 1: production side of how a podcast operates and how to
- 27:44Speaker 1: get our conversations to a video to sound good to
- 27:48Speaker 1: you guys to listen to, and then get clips to
- 27:50Speaker 1: promote it and do the whole process. Ourself is so
- 27:52Speaker 1: invaluable and we didn't know that from the start. Yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 1: we didn't know that at all. Like we started it.
- 27:58Speaker 6: Thinking like this, whatever one had to do, yeah, which
- 28:01Speaker 6: a lot of people would have had.
- 28:02Speaker 1: To do to be fair, but anyone without money would
- 28:04Speaker 1: have to do that way.
- 28:05Speaker 6: Yeah, and you know that sucked when we so we
- 28:11Speaker 6: keep talking about it. So we spent like a lot
- 28:13Speaker 6: of money. We wanted to get good ship, and we
- 28:15Speaker 6: were like, we need to up the production. It's gonna
- 28:17Speaker 6: up the quality of the podcast, which it does, but
- 28:19Speaker 6: also a lot of it just comes down to the
- 28:20Speaker 6: two hosts. And I don't think we're bad, no, I
- 28:23Speaker 6: think obviously there's room for improvement everywhere with every one.
- 28:27Speaker 6: But the thing that's super annoying is like we we
- 28:30Speaker 6: met no, we didn't met him, but we got to
- 28:32Speaker 6: watch them talk. These two guys that started a podcast
- 28:35Speaker 6: at the same time, if not just after us, who
- 28:38Speaker 6: grew way quicker and still use phones to fucking the visuals,
- 28:43Speaker 6: and we were just like, yeah, but fuck but but
- 28:47Speaker 6: although comparison is the thief of joy, beef of joy.
- 28:51Speaker 1: We shit on them in socials. It's fair because of
- 28:53Speaker 1: the quality of their videos fair like fair by like
- 28:56Speaker 1: one hundred times. Yeah, fair because they were using our phones.
- 28:58Speaker 1: But their podcast audio was a lot better, which is
- 29:01Speaker 1: all down to you can only make audio as good
- 29:03Speaker 1: as like the broadcaster, which is what we use. Yeah, yeah,
- 29:07Speaker 1: but yeah, I think that was a highlight. And then otherwise,
- 29:09Speaker 1: like obviously going overseas was amazing. I'm trying to think
- 29:13Speaker 1: like back like anything else. In particular, I really liked
- 29:15Speaker 1: being invited to the Spotify event felt good. That felt
- 29:18Speaker 1: really good, like you've been recognized a little bit.
- 29:22Speaker 6: I don't even I think like everything we talk about
- 29:26Speaker 6: is it's kind of fun that guests to talk about
- 29:28Speaker 6: what's happened to us, which is really cool. So I
- 29:31Speaker 6: think I don't want to shy away from it. I
- 29:33Speaker 6: think everyone listening most likely is interested, and I probably
- 29:36Speaker 6: doesn't come across as cocky. But just like when you
- 29:39Speaker 6: think about it, when like when we first started, and
- 29:43Speaker 6: even like a six months in or even think like
- 29:45Speaker 6: even a year in, if someone said you're going Spotify's flying,
- 29:51Speaker 6: You're to fuck in LA for an event.
- 29:52Speaker 1: You wouldn't believe it.
- 29:53Speaker 6: In November in twenty twenty four, you'd be like, no,
- 29:57Speaker 6: they fucking aren't. You know, so like you know, what
- 30:00Speaker 6: makes me think is like, so, what's going to happen
- 30:03Speaker 6: next year? It's like so so cool and yeah, it's
- 30:08Speaker 6: just I don't know. I think it's just like really
- 30:11Speaker 6: start to try and enjoy the process.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I think so too. In our next year, we'll be
- 30:16Speaker 1: really trying to enjoy the process. We've said it a
- 30:19Speaker 1: few times. We've got a bit lost this year. We
- 30:22Speaker 1: like the first time, everyone wanted to have a little
- 30:23Speaker 1: piece of the pie, and we're trying to take on
- 30:25Speaker 1: as much advice as possible and find our own pathway.
- 30:29Speaker 1: But what do you reckon? We'll go into our goals
- 30:33Speaker 1: for the new year, but I was going to say,
- 30:35Speaker 1: what do you reckon? We should merit to why we've
- 30:40Speaker 1: got to where we are in particular.
- 30:42Speaker 6: One second, Sorry about that, No, you're right right. I'd
- 30:50Speaker 6: like to point out everyone probably mostly cut down. I
- 30:53Speaker 6: just got a phone call ordered my sister and Huba
- 30:56Speaker 6: for her birthday. They reckon I said it was on
- 30:59Speaker 6: the wrong street. One hundred percent said it was on
- 31:01Speaker 6: the right strat And they're telling me I was wrong,
- 31:02Speaker 6: And I was like, yeah, whatever, but they undred percent
- 31:05Speaker 6: knew I told in the right street, and they weren't
- 31:07Speaker 6: listening because they were busy getting ready. I one hundred
- 31:10Speaker 6: percent said the street name that we won't mentioned in
- 31:13Speaker 6: the podcast, but I said the number in the street game,
- 31:16Speaker 6: and I said across the road because the house is
- 31:18Speaker 6: hard to find.
- 31:19Speaker 1: And they said, okay, yeah, stop my arm starting saying ship. Yeah,
- 31:24Speaker 1: they're up there, they're up there, and they they should
- 31:26Speaker 1: be down there, and I said, obviously they're down there.
- 31:28Speaker 1: That's where the house the dress goes. Anyway, sorry, guys,
- 31:32Speaker 1: that's that's right. Okay, goals Now, I said, firstly, what
- 31:36Speaker 1: do we think has got us to this position where
- 31:39Speaker 1: we are now? Because it's all good and well to
- 31:40Speaker 1: talk about, like going to different places and having expensive equipment,
- 31:44Speaker 1: but like, let me tell you, I know the answer.
- 31:47Speaker 6: Okay, recently a few episodes ago, and also in the past,
- 31:53Speaker 6: we've used the word ego.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and narcissis you reckon that's what we are.
- 32:01Speaker 2: No, no, no, no no.
- 32:04Speaker 6: We've had some questions about starting podcasts or whatever, and
- 32:07Speaker 6: then maybe we've focused on so we've always said, like
- 32:10Speaker 6: you need a level of ego and almost you almost
- 32:12Speaker 6: need a bit of narcissism. And we've said it before.
- 32:15Speaker 6: I think I say it more than you. Yeah, but
- 32:16Speaker 6: like I for some reason, that's what I thought, that's.
- 32:18Speaker 1: What I believed. And we had an email.
- 32:22Speaker 6: Of someone saying, I noticed you guys say that you
- 32:25Speaker 6: guys need a bit of narcissism to get where you are,
- 32:27Speaker 6: and she was like.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Wrong word, right, wrong word.
- 32:34Speaker 6: The word is self efficacy and it's a belief that
- 32:38Speaker 6: you can do what you set your mind to.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Oh, I like that self efficacy, self efficacy. I can
- 32:42Speaker 1: barely say that. Yeah, it's say it twice, self efficacy,
- 32:46Speaker 1: self efficacy, efficacy.
- 32:49Speaker 6: So we have we have self efficacy, just self belief
- 32:52Speaker 6: in the basic way, Yeah, self belief in what we do.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Yeah, And I've put it down to also like manifesting.
- 32:59Speaker 1: It's what I've always wanted and been consumed by everything,
- 33:03Speaker 1: like always thinking about that, and like that's what my
- 33:06Speaker 1: life and yours being consumed by. We're always thinking about
- 33:09Speaker 1: what's the next big thing whenever. Like it's probably it's
- 33:12Speaker 1: not good. It's like the grass is always greener. But
- 33:13Speaker 1: it's also like we're always looking for the next big thing. Yeah,
- 33:16Speaker 1: it's not good because it's hard to like give yourself credit.
- 33:18Speaker 1: But also I think that's merit to where we've got
- 33:20Speaker 1: because we're always looking to improve and do one better thing.
- 33:22Speaker 1: If new technology comes out, we get it. If a
- 33:25Speaker 1: new idea is there, we're open to try new things.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Like we're always just like, oh yeah, let's give that
- 33:29Speaker 1: a crack. Yeah. And I think that's also down to
- 33:31Speaker 1: being so young in the industry.
- 33:33Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, I think, So what what else do you look?
- 33:38Speaker 1: I want to also point out luck. Oh h it's gotta
- 33:40Speaker 1: be a lot of luck.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Whoy.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I will tell you my dad says it.
- 33:44Speaker 6: So, my dad had a successful he's left his business,
- 33:46Speaker 6: but he had a successful business. And I've even asked him,
- 33:48Speaker 6: like what do you put it down to, like do
- 33:50Speaker 6: you reckon? You just grind it, and like if you grind,
- 33:52Speaker 6: you grind, you grind, you're going to get it. And
- 33:53Speaker 6: he was like partially, but he was like, we got
- 33:57Speaker 6: fucking lucky with just like some of our tenders, which
- 34:01Speaker 6: is like our quotes for jobs just so just so
- 34:04Speaker 6: happened being the ones that got chosen because thirty other
- 34:07Speaker 6: companies can do the same price, same job, same thing,
- 34:09Speaker 6: and that they just got chosen.
- 34:11Speaker 1: I've thought of that before. So you've got to be
- 34:13Speaker 1: remember that segmented ages ago. You've got to be in
- 34:15Speaker 1: it to win it. Yeah, so you've got to be
- 34:17Speaker 1: in it to win it. But then it's also a
- 34:19Speaker 1: lot of luck. But luck comes when you're in it,
- 34:22Speaker 1: So you're not going to get lucky without trying that thing.
- 34:25Speaker 6: True, So the luck comes, like, Yeah, luck isn't just
- 34:30Speaker 6: going to come if you just like don't actually do
- 34:32Speaker 6: anything and don't start something. Yes, you need to give
- 34:34Speaker 6: the luck the opportunity to be there to be lucky. Yeah,
- 34:38Speaker 6: you need to give yourself the opportunity to be lucky.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I think, I think. And a big thing on
- 34:43Speaker 1: social media is luck and mat wait and massively. Yeah,
- 34:46Speaker 1: and it's constantly turning up, so the luck can be
- 34:49Speaker 1: more present. But it's a lot of luck, definitely. And
- 34:52Speaker 1: now we've got we've written down a few goals for
- 34:55Speaker 1: the New Year for the podcast. Yes, I've got three.
- 34:59Speaker 1: How many of you have three? Well, me, we go first,
- 35:01Speaker 1: all you you go first. Okay, so these are goals.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I remember. This is always good because we forget about
- 35:07Speaker 1: our goals. It's sort of like New Year's resolutions. But
- 35:08Speaker 1: someone will go back and listen to this episode like
- 35:10Speaker 1: next year and be like, guys, remember when you said
- 35:12Speaker 1: this and you did it? Yeah, and then you can
- 35:13Speaker 1: put it in the Facebook group and we'll definitely see it.
- 35:17Speaker 1: So one of my goals for twenty twenty five. That
- 35:21Speaker 1: sounds so crazy to say. I hate the fact that
- 35:23Speaker 1: I'm going to be halfway to a century. Yeah no, okay,
- 35:26Speaker 1: so no, wait, halfway to a half century? Sorry, go on,
- 35:31Speaker 1: we should stop doing that. Yeah, like, just refrain from
- 35:34Speaker 1: it. It sounds smarter math. My first goal is to a
- 35:38Speaker 1: USA or England podcast guest tour, so we purely go
- 35:44Speaker 1: to another country to guest on like five or ten podcasts.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Love that and then like come back because that's I
- 35:50Speaker 1: think our next way to grow is to go on
- 35:53Speaker 1: other people's podcasts.
- 35:56Speaker 6: North American Christmas. You have your Christmas in New York.
- 36:02Speaker 6: I'll have mine with my mum in Canada. But for
- 36:04Speaker 6: the start for the first bit of December twos podcasts,
- 36:09Speaker 6: we disperse. I'll go up Me and Beth will go
- 36:11Speaker 6: up to Canada, Great White North, and you'll go to
- 36:13Speaker 6: New York because of where else you want to.
- 36:14Speaker 1: It's not a bad idea. But I kind of was thinking,
- 36:16Speaker 1: we've done America now, Okay, England, fuck it. I feel
- 36:19Speaker 1: like a lot of more England pods would want us on.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I think we're are humor. We
- 36:24Speaker 1: have better connections with that already. Yeah, our humor sort
- 36:27Speaker 1: of corresponds a bit better too. And also, like I
- 36:29Speaker 1: don't know, I feel like i'd be a bit more
- 36:30Speaker 1: comfortable talking to some English people, like we'd have good banter,
- 36:33Speaker 1: whereas like America's a little bit harder.
- 36:36Speaker 6: I find English people just like I think I would.
- 36:39Speaker 6: I think I could go on a serious podcast over there,
- 36:42Speaker 6: yeah and laugh because of their accent. It's not that
- 36:45Speaker 6: much different to ours, but it's like a bit different.
- 36:49Speaker 6: My first one simple, grow Patreon.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Grow Patreon. I want Patreon to become what it can be.
- 36:56Speaker 1: That was one of our downfalls. So we talked positive
- 37:00Speaker 1: things on the start of the episode. One of the
- 37:02Speaker 1: negative things on the episode was because we started to
- 37:04Speaker 1: do so many episodes for free, Patreon start to decline. Yeah,
- 37:09Speaker 1: because you'll get so much free content, which we figured out,
- 37:13Speaker 1: so we've got to find a balance where they both
- 37:16Speaker 1: even out, where you're getting enough content for free, but
- 37:18Speaker 1: also you had that little bit of like, oh, I
- 37:21Speaker 1: wouldn't mind a little bit more.
- 37:22Speaker 6: Yeah, and Patreon dot come forward slash relatables probably find
- 37:25Speaker 6: it there, sign up five dollars a month.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Patreon's good And it sounds a bit shallow saying
- 37:30Speaker 1: like pay for an episode, but that allows us to
- 37:33Speaker 1: do all this, yeah, and do the best job possible
- 37:36Speaker 1: without asking to do brand deals, which we love doing
- 37:39Speaker 1: brand deals. But we can be a bit more what's
- 37:42Speaker 1: the word, Like, we can choose which ones we actually want.
- 37:44Speaker 6: To do, pick and choice which one you want to
- 37:45Speaker 6: do the ones really like instead of doing it because
- 37:47Speaker 6: you're like you're like, oh, yeah, we need money to live,
- 37:50Speaker 6: you do it because it's like we align with this
- 37:52Speaker 6: brand real Yeah, we like we think our listeners will
- 37:54Speaker 6: want this. We think that if we can get them
- 37:55Speaker 6: a discount code, we're actually helping them and stuff like that,
- 37:59Speaker 6: which we.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Do, dude, with a lot of brand deals.
- 38:01Speaker 6: True. Yeah, like we have turned down actually think think
- 38:03Speaker 6: we've turned down a few that we're just like, yeah, yeah,
- 38:06Speaker 6: we've done a couple that we're just like, but it
- 38:11Speaker 6: is what it is, you know, But I just I
- 38:13Speaker 6: And also for the fact that like obviously you so
- 38:18Speaker 6: like Patreon is a is a paid platform, but it's
- 38:20Speaker 6: like on Patreon we do get to be like more
- 38:26Speaker 6: guards down, like like it's just fun editing.
- 38:30Speaker 1: The last probably three Patreon episodes, Yeah, they've been better
- 38:34Speaker 1: than the main episodes, and we hate it because.
- 38:38Speaker 6: We're always like, we want the main episodes to be
- 38:40Speaker 6: really good because that's like that's the that's the avenue
- 38:43Speaker 6: where the funnel.
- 38:44Speaker 1: We want them to go to Patreon.
- 38:46Speaker 6: Yeah, and we want the Patreon episodes to be really good,
- 38:48Speaker 6: but when the Patroon episodes are.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Fucking way better, we're like, I don't even want to
- 38:52Speaker 1: post something. Literally. That sort of comes down to we
- 38:56Speaker 1: put a lot of pressure on ourselves because we have
- 38:58Speaker 1: listeners now and people who like look forward to our
- 39:01Speaker 1: episodes every week. We put a lot of pressure on
- 39:04Speaker 1: those Monday, Wednesday, Friday episodes. I don't know why we
- 39:08Speaker 1: did it. Yeah, why we just put pressure on ourselves
- 39:10Speaker 1: and we didn't put pressure on Patreon because we know
- 39:13Speaker 1: we could be ourselves and we realized that, fuck, these
- 39:16Speaker 1: Patreon episodes are better.
- 39:17Speaker 6: Patreon ended up being like the Escape, Yeah, where it
- 39:19Speaker 6: was like we could go into an episode of Patreon
- 39:22Speaker 6: unplanned without feeling guilty about it because it was like, well,
- 39:25Speaker 6: we'll just let ourselves chat.
- 39:26Speaker 1: For an hour anyway. Yeah, Like it was just and
- 39:29Speaker 1: I feel like I found it better Shake and my relationship.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Some of the best moments to listen to when we're
- 39:34Speaker 1: just talking, like we have no pre planned anything. Yeah,
- 39:39Speaker 1: and like there's just a bit of magic in like,
- 39:40Speaker 1: oh fuck, that was good. Yeah.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Rather than giving informative information, which we like to do,
- 39:46Speaker 1: we've got to find that balance of like which is
- 39:49Speaker 1: also coming into the first episode. If you're looking forward
- 39:52Speaker 1: to in the New year's going to be the sixth
- 39:54Speaker 1: of January. Sorry, guys, we're having a short break. Yeah,
- 39:56Speaker 1: we having a week. I think it's a week. Yeah,
- 39:59Speaker 1: it won't even be week because we have to record
- 40:01Speaker 1: the episode. Yeah, true, it won't even end up being
- 40:02Speaker 1: a week.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Will I think it.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Worked out well because that's the first Monday of the
- 40:06Speaker 1: New year and we meet just like, I think it
- 40:08Speaker 1: worked out really well because the six is the first
- 40:10Speaker 1: I like it. Yeah, that works out. I love it.
- 40:11Speaker 1: And are we going to tell them what we're doing
- 40:14Speaker 1: or not yet? Na, let's surprise them. But with the
- 40:16Speaker 1: first episode, will in now through our goals. Let's tell
- 40:19Speaker 1: them what we're giving the fans for Christmas too, because
- 40:22Speaker 1: that's going to be released. I know how I'm going
- 40:24Speaker 1: to do it, Okay, but just remember, yeah, Jake's organized
- 40:27Speaker 1: as president, and I've got the way to give it
- 40:29Speaker 1: to you. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay. My next goal
- 40:32Speaker 1: is this one's quite simple and good because we did
- 40:36Speaker 1: it today a little bit, so let me know if
- 40:37Speaker 1: anyone liked it more in real life sort of podcast things. Yeah,
- 40:43Speaker 1: so either segments where we go out into the real
- 40:45Speaker 1: world or we have a little segment idea and I
- 40:47Speaker 1: go do something or Jake does something and then we
- 40:49Speaker 1: bring it back and then talk about it a little
- 40:52Speaker 1: bit more, and it's more in real life and it's
- 40:54Speaker 1: related to and I feel like it adds another layer
- 40:56Speaker 1: to the podcast. And that's just the golf men do
- 40:59Speaker 1: more of them, yeah than just completely like sitting here
- 41:01Speaker 1: and talking, which I love doing, but I feel like
- 41:03Speaker 1: it adds a different layer that you can come up.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Oh that's cool. I would be very key for thatwet.
- 41:09Speaker 6: My next one, care less about social media views and
- 41:16Speaker 6: post a bit more of what the pod is really about.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Oh that's a good point. That is a great point
- 41:22Speaker 1: because if you go on our clips, like it does
- 41:25Speaker 1: depict us to a certain extent, we have a.
- 41:30Speaker 6: There's an angle, there's a there's a plan, there's a reason,
- 41:32Speaker 6: there's a we have some yet like it's like there's
- 41:35Speaker 6: a plan in place, we do.
- 41:37Speaker 1: We have an angle with every single clip too. It's
- 41:40Speaker 1: sort of we sort of still are utilizing as much
- 41:43Speaker 1: new viewers as possible without really showing the essence of
- 41:47Speaker 1: what Jake and I and our podcast is. Like, Yeah,
- 41:50Speaker 1: I think that is going to be a good transition.
- 41:53Speaker 6: So yeah, because like when you think about because I
- 41:55Speaker 6: really like doing the stimulated episodes and so in that
- 41:58Speaker 6: there's like three quote unquote TikTok clips that we like
- 42:00Speaker 6: to call them. Yeah, and so the segments are fun
- 42:03Speaker 6: to do, and then they just so happen to translate
- 42:05Speaker 6: great over to like TikTok because it's fast book book.
- 42:08Speaker 6: Because we usually just do three segments. I was thinking
- 42:12Speaker 6: like in the new year, we should start going like, okay,
- 42:15Speaker 6: it's like three or four clips of that where we're
- 42:17Speaker 6: like relying on them nearly to get some views, and
- 42:21Speaker 6: then three clips to fill in the seven days of
- 42:24Speaker 6: like they're probably going to do crap views. And we've
- 42:27Speaker 6: talked about this before where we're like, we need to
- 42:30Speaker 6: stop worrying about views and get crap views on socials
- 42:32Speaker 6: just because people will see us more and there'll be
- 42:34Speaker 6: a higher conversion rate to actually listeners. But there's something
- 42:37Speaker 6: about the comfort of knowing what we're doing and like
- 42:42Speaker 6: holding onto.
- 42:43Speaker 2: That I find.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I have an idea. It's probably semi
- 42:48Speaker 1: going against what you just said. Yeah, but also we
- 42:51Speaker 1: win win. It might be too much work too. Is
- 42:55Speaker 1: we could post is taking it's harder for you to
- 42:59Speaker 1: clip or easy for the conversations that won't get as
- 43:02Speaker 1: many views.
- 43:03Speaker 6: Well, I mean it could be like I could just
- 43:05Speaker 6: do it in a way where I make it not hard.
- 43:08Speaker 1: You could we could do it in a way is
- 43:09Speaker 1: keep like stimulating clips the same five six episodes a week,
- 43:12Speaker 1: five six six, five or six clips a week, and
- 43:15Speaker 1: then you could do like clip two clips one day
- 43:20Speaker 1: and then at night post a talkative one. Oh, it's
- 43:23Speaker 1: probably not a bad idea actually, so we're still getting
- 43:25Speaker 1: growth with the stimulus nine.
- 43:26Speaker 6: Clips, yeah, one week instead of just like six or seven.
- 43:29Speaker 1: And then like Thursday, Friday, Saturday night you post like
- 43:31Speaker 1: clips of us she's talking of, like's not a fucking
- 43:34Speaker 1: bad idea, the actual essence of the podcast. Yeah, that's
- 43:36Speaker 1: actually really not about idea at all, just a little
- 43:39Speaker 1: bit more work. But yeah, yeah, I mean this is
- 43:41Speaker 1: what it is.
- 43:41Speaker 6: Well, you want to go, oh, do my last one then,
- 43:43Speaker 6: because it goes off a little bit more work I
- 43:45Speaker 6: would like because we've decided to stay independent. Yeah, by
- 43:50Speaker 6: the end of next year, maybe give us some time.
- 43:53Speaker 6: I want to have one full time employee.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Full time, full time. Maybe that's a big but we've
- 44:00Speaker 1: got to pay them, Like what's the minimum wage, like
- 44:03Speaker 1: seventy k year after tax? Sixty k. That's more than
- 44:07Speaker 1: we make. Hopefully by that time we make more than that.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Good point, good point, last goal. This one scares me,
- 44:15Speaker 1: but I want to do it. So you want to
- 44:16Speaker 1: hire one employee. I want to do one live show.
- 44:21Speaker 1: You want to do a live show? One by next year?
- 44:25Speaker 1: One live shows? Scary eight? We could I okay.
- 44:29Speaker 6: The thought process I have with the live show, though,
- 44:32Speaker 6: is like I think that it's a cop out to
- 44:38Speaker 6: go up and just do what we would do on
- 44:40Speaker 6: a normal money.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, no, we plan it like we'd make
- 44:43Speaker 1: it interactive with the fans. It'd be sort of like
- 44:45Speaker 1: a concert. I reckon we like pre planned some sick
- 44:47Speaker 1: music to come on before is like have like you
- 44:50Speaker 1: do it like sort of how Hamish and Enity did
- 44:53Speaker 1: their tax was that that thing called co con con
- 44:57Speaker 1: like how they planned it so thoroughly. You'd have snap
- 45:00Speaker 1: their biscuits would talk about on the pot would be
- 45:01Speaker 1: like dde shit like that and have things under your
- 45:03Speaker 1: seat and make it mad interactive.
- 45:05Speaker 6: Also, I think a lot of people do live shows
- 45:07Speaker 6: as a way to have another income.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I don't want to do it for that.
- 45:11Speaker 6: I think what I would want to go into it
- 45:13Speaker 6: with it breaking even and it not being for the income,
- 45:16Speaker 6: it being for the person.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to make it a sick experience. I
- 45:19Speaker 1: want to like people to walk away with like that hour,
- 45:20Speaker 1: I'm like funk, I was editained. Yeah, well like these
- 45:23Speaker 1: guys areas but I love them. Yeah, so there go.
- 45:27Speaker 1: That's it scares me. But I also want to do
- 45:29Speaker 1: it for like growth as like a host. I guess
- 45:31Speaker 1: this next year, I really want to like practice my
- 45:33Speaker 1: art a host, yeah, and get better like talking to
- 45:36Speaker 1: other people other than you, because that's fucking scary. Few
- 45:40Speaker 1: guests a few guests, go on a few pods and
- 45:42Speaker 1: then do one live show. Would be nice. Even if
- 45:45Speaker 1: it was like thirty people, I'd be happy.
- 45:47Speaker 6: May I think I would be pretty chuffed with thirty people.
- 45:49Speaker 1: We went to a stand up comedy thing in La.
- 45:53Speaker 1: It was like improv yeah, and it was just a
- 45:55Speaker 1: little I don't even know, like a little den in
- 45:57Speaker 1: like under this fucking groundling since famous yeah, famous people
- 46:01Speaker 1: have come out of it, and I assume like that's
- 46:02Speaker 1: like not a thing in Australia. We didn't. I don't
- 46:04Speaker 1: know if it didn't wish it was. It was fun,
- 46:06Speaker 1: but it was just like a little studio with like
- 46:08Speaker 1: maybe there was fifty sixty people in our so this
- 46:10Speaker 1: is perfect. And then there's a little stage and it
- 46:11Speaker 1: felt so niche and like us and like family friendly. Intimate.
- 46:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 46:15Speaker 1: It wasn't like this big stadium like you go watch
- 46:17Speaker 1: the footy or soccer. I was like, I just want
- 46:18Speaker 1: some intimate thing where we can just be ourselves. It
- 46:20Speaker 1: was really nice. Meet everyone afterwards, yeah, yeah, talk after like, yeah,
- 46:24Speaker 1: have an intermission. We come out and talked to everyone. Yeah,
- 46:27Speaker 1: fuck bro, where could we do it? I don't know.
- 46:30Speaker 1: A Voker theater would be good. Do you think people
- 46:32Speaker 1: would come here to the Centta Coast. Well, the good
- 46:35Speaker 1: thing with that is like we could get our friends
- 46:37Speaker 1: that come to it. Look like we have people people coming,
- 46:39Speaker 1: friends and family. I'd actually probably be more scared in
- 46:42Speaker 1: front of my friends. I don't think I want anyone
- 46:43Speaker 1: I know to be Maybe we'll go somewhere random like
- 46:45Speaker 1: girl friends. We'll go to like Gold Coast or something. Yeah,
- 46:49Speaker 1: or we just look at the stadio. I'm going to
- 46:51Speaker 1: be shitting myself.
- 46:52Speaker 6: Ay.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I remember talking in school, like talking from the class
- 46:56Speaker 1: as you get mad, nervous. It's just a different art form.
- 47:00Speaker 6: I think thinking about it right now, like I think
- 47:02Speaker 6: I'd be scared, but I also do think like that
- 47:05Speaker 6: I could get up and talk in front of a crowd,
- 47:07Speaker 6: like if I had something to read that I've practiced.
- 47:11Speaker 1: We've got a free run. Because we have to go
- 47:13Speaker 1: up and free run, there'd be a lot more pressure.
- 47:15Speaker 1: I think the first five minutes would be so scary,
- 47:18Speaker 1: but as soon as like we'd somehow do it with
- 47:21Speaker 1: headphones on or something so we're in our own world. Well,
- 47:23Speaker 1: like they do with when you go with to live show,
- 47:25Speaker 1: they have little earp so they can hear themselves. Yeah, yeah,
- 47:27Speaker 1: we'd have the same thing and we'd just get in
- 47:29Speaker 1: our own little bubble like we're on, which is what
- 47:31Speaker 1: we do when we got new studios, which obviously we
- 47:33Speaker 1: would think of some cool things.
- 47:34Speaker 6: I think I would want it to be like you
- 47:36Speaker 6: come on and we do like maybe a normal show segment,
- 47:40Speaker 6: and then we go, okay, next thing is like obviously
- 47:42Speaker 6: crowd's getting involved. Yeah yeahah, and then like the next
- 47:44Speaker 6: one you do is like a little show segment kind of,
- 47:47Speaker 6: so they get the podcast live, but they also get
- 47:49Speaker 6: a show.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Do you reckon? We would record it and put it
- 47:52Speaker 1: out to like everyone in the audience as well, or
- 47:55Speaker 1: just only a love event. I think just the people
- 47:58Speaker 1: that paid. They should be the only ones that get
- 48:00Speaker 1: to listen. A good idea.
- 48:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I like that we could record it and keep
- 48:02Speaker 6: it for future things of like if we want to go,
- 48:05Speaker 6: we could watch it back. Yeah, like react to our
- 48:07Speaker 6: first live show and just be like we fucking suck.
- 48:10Speaker 1: We should probably go to some live shows like next year,
- 48:12Speaker 1: just to get like some references. Yeah, well, she goes,
- 48:14Speaker 1: she's thinking he's a company. Were able to do that,
- 48:16Speaker 1: we know, But one thing that happens with Christmas is Sannah,
- 48:25Speaker 1: and we thought that we should give back with a
- 48:28Speaker 1: bit of a present from Jake, myself and Sannah. Yes,
- 48:33Speaker 1: and Jake came up with this. So if you want
- 48:35Speaker 1: to explain what we're giving away, and I'll explain how
- 48:38Speaker 1: you can enter. I think the only way.
- 48:45Speaker 6: I can explain it is I was going to try
- 48:47Speaker 6: and sing it, but I haven't listened to her for
- 48:49Speaker 6: a while.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Am I connected? I wait, it's a sign. I've already
- 48:55Speaker 1: got her on my thing. I was listening on the car.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Let's listen to a banger butt. I could come and
- 49:01Speaker 1: read your mind, think about your dumb basis all the.
- 49:04Speaker 5: Time, living in your glasshouse sign outside.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Looking into big blue eyes. Did it just hurt me?
- 49:12Speaker 1: Make me cry? Yeah, that's my life.
- 49:18Speaker 2: It's such a vibe. We're going to be fucking I
- 49:23Speaker 2: should go.
- 49:29Speaker 1: She is so cool.
- 49:32Speaker 2: I can come back on your couch again. Ice.
- 49:34Speaker 1: From across the.
- 49:38Speaker 6: Guys, two of you, you, one person and a friend
- 49:43Speaker 6: are going to be going to Gracy Abrams.
- 49:45Speaker 1: So it's only going to be one of you, basically.
- 49:47Speaker 2: One listen.
- 49:49Speaker 6: One person is gonna win and they get to take
- 49:50Speaker 6: a friend because they will be winning two tickets to
- 49:51Speaker 6: Gracy Abrams that we have got while she is in Sydney, Australia.
- 49:55Speaker 1: And the way to enter is in the first episode of.
- 50:00Speaker 2: The New Year.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Somewhere within the video version of the episode, there will
- 50:05Speaker 1: be a QR code which you have to scan with
- 50:08Speaker 1: your phone or screenshow or do whatever to scan a
- 50:10Speaker 1: QR code and enter there. But with that means you
- 50:13Speaker 1: have to fucking watch it. So a win for us
- 50:18Speaker 1: and a potential win for you. Yes, yes, yes, And
- 50:21Speaker 1: there might be a few decoys in there. You never know,
- 50:25Speaker 1: you never know. We're fun guys. We obviously want to
- 50:29Speaker 1: give back, but we want to do it in a
- 50:30Speaker 1: fun way too, because with the New Year, we're having
- 50:33Speaker 1: a few new things we want everyone to see. And
- 50:36Speaker 1: rather than doing like the classic Instagram giveaway we're trying
- 50:39Speaker 1: to do, we've thought of something that we could do
- 50:41Speaker 1: on the podcast for the whether the actual listeners benefit,
- 50:44Speaker 1: because also all the people who are listening right now
- 50:46Speaker 1: are probably going to listen slash watch the episode anyway. Yes,
- 50:49Speaker 1: so you're going to see it and you guys actually
- 50:51Speaker 1: get the benefit from it, rather than not that we
- 50:53Speaker 1: don't love our Instagram and TikTok followers. But you guys
- 50:55Speaker 1: are more of the real ogs because you're here every
- 50:57Speaker 1: single week, back to back and you love the long
- 51:00Speaker 1: the form content. So hopefully you like Gracie because I
- 51:03Speaker 1: love it.
- 51:03Speaker 6: Yeah, one hundred percent same.
- 51:05Speaker 1: And I think it's a really good giveaway.
- 51:07Speaker 6: We never went through our Spotify raps, did we? No
- 51:12Speaker 6: mine proves I love it.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Yeah. I was surprised too, because I was like, Noah
- 51:16Speaker 1: carn we went to no Okap.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Was that this year?
- 51:17Speaker 1: We went to know Khn Yeah it was.
- 51:18Speaker 6: It was on my birthday last year, January twenty fourth.
- 51:20Speaker 1: We went to Okhan this year then so this year, Yeah,
- 51:23Speaker 1: I was thinking we grinded Noah Can after that because
- 51:25Speaker 1: we were in love with him. Yeah, and Gracie still
- 51:26Speaker 1: won for yours because how many minutes did you have?
- 51:28Speaker 6: Though I owned to music, I only listened to like
- 51:32Speaker 6: thirty three thousand minute's big on podcasts.
- 51:35Speaker 1: That's still a lot. Because I was thinking when I
- 51:36Speaker 1: saw Gracey Avery, like this guy must listen to like
- 51:38Speaker 1: ten thousand minutes of music. He still had thirty three. Yeah,
- 51:40Speaker 1: it's not a lot. I still had a lot to
- 51:42Speaker 1: take over. I was Noah Can won all mine. Still
- 51:45Speaker 1: he did. Yeah, New Perspective was my number, and then
- 51:47Speaker 1: he got all the top five. Yeah, I went I reckon.
- 51:51Speaker 1: So after we went to Know a Khan, I think
- 51:53Speaker 1: as soon as we went into a carn that's when
- 51:55Speaker 1: my Peter rout started to happen. I just slowly. I
- 51:58Speaker 1: feel like it gets like that. Hey, I gets so
- 52:00Speaker 1: addicted to a song or an artist, and I listened
- 52:03Speaker 1: for like weeks or months, and then after I can't
- 52:06Speaker 1: do that anymore. I will say that role model is
- 52:11Speaker 1: my current. I've been liking. Have I showed you him?
- 52:13Speaker 1: This guy from the gym. He reminds me of Biggie Small. No,
- 52:17Speaker 1: you have you have?
- 52:17Speaker 2: You have?
- 52:18Speaker 1: His name's big X and the pug Big X and
- 52:21Speaker 1: the gym. But I've been grinding him through, fucking though.
- 52:28Speaker 1: What we're going to do now is we're going to
- 52:29Speaker 1: eat our gyg and have a bit of a muck
- 52:32Speaker 1: bang and recall any of the marketplace deals, see if
- 52:37Speaker 1: any came through. So if you want to stop listening now,
- 52:39Speaker 1: we're going to be eating, so it might not be
- 52:40Speaker 1: as good to listen to, but stop listening. Yeah, We're
- 52:44Speaker 1: just going to have some fun. It's going to be
- 52:46Speaker 1: a bit more relaxed. Now I'm key for this. Yeah,
- 52:54Speaker 1: hopefully there's a knife before. If not, I can run down.
- 52:58Speaker 1: I'm scared to eat him on. Now what chairs?
- 53:01Speaker 2: Mate?
- 53:01Speaker 1: We'll be getting new chairs one day soon. Anyway, these
- 53:03Speaker 1: white chairs, these chairs were a disappointment.
- 53:05Speaker 6: Ah, these chairs cost us again. We waited and waited
- 53:09Speaker 6: and waited for a paycheck and then we went and
- 53:10Speaker 6: bought chairs that we couldn't afford.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, And they bought these chairs before the whole setup,
- 53:15Speaker 1: and we built the set up around these chairs. We
- 53:17Speaker 1: sat in like twenty chairs and like, how does it
- 53:19Speaker 1: feel right? Who the fuck?
- 53:22Speaker 6: Who goes to We went to James Lane. Fuck, then
- 53:24Speaker 6: we don't want to give a shout out. I should
- 53:26Speaker 6: give us money. We did James Lane and we were like,
- 53:29Speaker 6: let's have a look, let's have a look around here.
- 53:31Speaker 6: And some guys trying to sell us ship. They sold
- 53:32Speaker 6: us Protector but didn't work.
- 53:35Speaker 1: So we sit in these chairs what three times a
- 53:38Speaker 1: week for an hour max? And you I was talking
- 53:41Speaker 1: to Jake about this the other day and like, think
- 53:43Speaker 1: of imagine if you're watching TV on this every single night.
- 53:45Speaker 1: These are worn like a lot where you guys can't
- 53:48Speaker 1: see it because it's where our bums go. But they're
- 53:51Speaker 1: expensive chair. I was like, this is a fucking rip off.
- 53:53Speaker 1: They're expensive chairs. But also we got them half priced,
- 53:57Speaker 1: like I think we Yeah, we paid it with half priced,
- 53:59Speaker 1: so would have been even more expensive if not, but we.
- 54:03Speaker 6: I was thinking about it as well, like my lounge downstairs,
- 54:07Speaker 6: like if you fluff up the pillows and just like
- 54:09Speaker 6: fold everything near.
- 54:10Speaker 1: Good Loud, it looks brand new. I like, good Alan,
- 54:12Speaker 1: How much was that so much?
- 54:15Speaker 2: No?
- 54:15Speaker 1: Really, it's like me.
- 54:17Speaker 6: And trying to win halves in it, and it was
- 54:18Speaker 6: like I think it was like fourteen hundred each, I'll
- 54:22Speaker 6: tell you what, and it was on set was thirty
- 54:23Speaker 6: percent off.
- 54:24Speaker 1: One of the good characteristic traits and terrible characteristic state
- 54:27Speaker 1: traits about having Jake as the co host is he's
- 54:31Speaker 1: always down to do everything, which means like no one
- 54:35Speaker 1: will hold us back. So if I'm like, oh, should
- 54:36Speaker 1: we buy, He's like, yeah, let's sucking do it, or
- 54:38Speaker 1: like I want it if I actually want something, and
- 54:40Speaker 1: he was like yeah, let's fucking like yeah, he'ps hyped.
- 54:42Speaker 1: But then I'm also like, oh, I feel like I
- 54:44Speaker 1: should have like a good angel on my shoulder, be like,
- 54:45Speaker 1: oh maybe not fuck that.
- 54:47Speaker 6: You don't get anywhere in life to doing that. I
- 54:52Speaker 6: am shocking like that.
- 54:53Speaker 1: It's good and bad. But no, no, I'm oh that could
- 54:57Speaker 1: be another goal I wanted for twenty twenty five. We
- 54:59Speaker 1: should start like a do you know how to make
- 55:01Speaker 1: a new account on Westpac? I can't figure it out.
- 55:03Speaker 6: Maybe you can't do it without going in for a
- 55:05Speaker 6: business account.
- 55:06Speaker 1: We should start a savings account. That could work. It's
- 55:13Speaker 1: a good idea. Well how about savings account? And we
- 55:16Speaker 1: put like a certain amount of money away each week,
- 55:18Speaker 1: but we'll also put the equivalent in gyg stock.
- 55:21Speaker 6: Whit I stand by this gyg stock thing because there's
- 55:27Speaker 6: no other way.
- 55:27Speaker 1: For it to go. But oh yeah, exactly is it's
- 55:30Speaker 1: still on like the come up still it's got to
- 55:31Speaker 1: be like it's not everyone that just went fucking public.
- 55:34Speaker 1: They have to be. There's no other reason too. I mean,
- 55:36Speaker 1: recinentally went public this year.
- 55:39Speaker 6: Halfway through this year, have do you know that? I
- 55:41Speaker 6: kept seeing stuff on TikTok about it. I don't even
- 55:43Speaker 6: know why. It didn't clock to me like I'm going
- 55:44Speaker 6: to buy that stock.
- 55:45Speaker 1: You've got to follow up on getting the GYG owner,
- 55:48Speaker 1: the part owner on the pot. A.
- 55:50Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I actually think that would be so sick,
- 55:54Speaker 6: especially if we buy ten thousand dollars weather stock.
- 55:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna hmm, it's sick. Could because I actually love
- 56:02Speaker 1: it exactly, I'll be passionate to be in there. We
- 56:05Speaker 1: would be promoting something that we genuinely, genuinely love. Are
- 56:09Speaker 1: we promoting it?
- 56:10Speaker 5: Like?
- 56:11Speaker 1: It's probably beneficial for him, cause guess to talk about
- 56:12Speaker 1: GYG for an hour.
- 56:14Speaker 6: Let's fucking okay, let's do this. Let's let's talk. Let's
- 56:20Speaker 6: get him on, Let's talk to him. Let's say we've
- 56:22Speaker 6: bought stock stock, right, we won't buy ten thousand dollars
- 56:26Speaker 6: if that's a big chunk, but we'll buy some.
- 56:28Speaker 1: We got to buy enough so we have like a
- 56:30Speaker 1: solid percentage of the company.
- 56:32Speaker 6: So we yeah, we want to we want to actually
- 56:33Speaker 6: work out what sort of percentage we have of the company.
- 56:35Speaker 1: Like, if it's point zero percent, that's not good enough.
- 56:38Speaker 1: We actually know, if it's point one percent that's good enough.
- 56:40Speaker 1: We won't at point one. We need to get like
- 56:44Speaker 1: zero over zero point zero zero one percent something like that,
- 56:48Speaker 1: Like we need like a number two somewhere because there'd
- 56:49Speaker 1: be a lot of money in that company. Yeah yeah,
- 56:51Speaker 1: like so probably worth I don't know. Is it worth
- 56:53Speaker 1: over like one hundred million dollars?
- 56:54Speaker 2: Probably?
- 56:55Speaker 1: Well, I don't know.
- 56:55Speaker 6: So they've got a whole bunch of them in Australia
- 56:57Speaker 6: and then they have a couple in Singapore and a
- 56:58Speaker 6: couple in America, so.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Going world wide. But here's what I want, right, relatables.
- 57:07Speaker 1: You're sponsored by GYG.
- 57:09Speaker 6: We don't get paid via cash, We don't get paid
- 57:12Speaker 6: via invoice.
- 57:13Speaker 1: We get paid in GYG stock speak equivalent language.
- 57:17Speaker 6: All right, mate, think about how much we can charge
- 57:21Speaker 6: for like six weeks of hosting on the podcast. That's
- 57:26Speaker 6: the equivalent in stock.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Oh man, that'd be sick. I get paid dividends, it
- 57:31Speaker 1: goes up. Yeah, I didn't care about dividends. This is
- 57:33Speaker 1: in financial advice. Do you reckon if you get a
- 57:36Speaker 1: certain percentage of the company, they like send you a
- 57:39Speaker 1: card and you get a like unlimited GYG.
- 57:42Speaker 6: Oh that's all we want to talk to him about too.
- 57:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 57:44Speaker 1: So when we met name Drop, when we met ships
- 57:48Speaker 1: and gigs, best air ja Club, best day of my life.
- 57:51Speaker 6: They they had this thing called a Nando's Black Card. Yeah,
- 57:58Speaker 6: and it means that like Nando's gives it to a
- 58:00Speaker 6: couple of big customers, like just famous people really and
- 58:02Speaker 6: you just get to go in the Nando's.
- 58:03Speaker 1: You flash that card and you don't pay ever, like
- 58:05Speaker 1: there's no amount of money on it. Feel like a boss,
- 58:07Speaker 1: like you could go in every single like apparently they
- 58:09Speaker 1: just give it to you for like a year or
- 58:10Speaker 1: something like I'm pretty sure it can get taken off them.
- 58:12Speaker 6: So but I think Gyg needs to make a card.
- 58:15Speaker 1: I think I would like actually get fat because I
- 58:17Speaker 1: love it so much. Well, I saw right, because he's
- 58:19Speaker 1: something to like a goal to when it gets taken
- 58:21Speaker 1: off after the year, I'll be like I've been boker.
- 58:24Speaker 2: For a year.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Guys, I was gonna say, was do you know like
- 58:29Speaker 1: Christmas traditions, family traditions, like you always have like a
- 58:32Speaker 1: roast chicken, la la la la whatever turkey on Christmas?
- 58:35Speaker 1: Who cares? I reckon with my kids?
- 58:38Speaker 2: I reckon.
- 58:40Speaker 1: I'm going to like brainwash them and tell them like
- 58:42Speaker 1: GYG on Christmas Day is the tradition that's a good idea.
- 58:46Speaker 1: And so then when they like get to an age
- 58:48Speaker 1: where they start talking about it with their friends. Their
- 58:50Speaker 1: friends are gonna be like, what the fuck are you
- 58:52Speaker 1: talking about? Like who got to choose that? Like chicken
- 58:55Speaker 1: ham and Turkey with a Christmas edition? I know some
- 58:58Speaker 1: old English fart like why don't we have that's so stupid.
- 59:01Speaker 1: I'll tell you what the podcast I did and I
- 59:04Speaker 1: didn't think it had the capability to do, was like
- 59:07Speaker 1: help us see the world. Yeah, actually I've never thought that.
- 59:11Speaker 1: What had a good year? Like I went to Bali
- 59:14Speaker 1: for a month. I went to Melbourne twice. Yeah, South Korea. USA.
- 59:21Speaker 6: Never went to Melbourne before a podcast. Never had plans
- 59:24Speaker 6: Yeah no, no, we've never planned on.
- 59:25Speaker 1: Going to South Korea.
- 59:27Speaker 6: I think like in my head I was like, I'll
- 59:28Speaker 6: go to America one day, but I didn't have it
- 59:31Speaker 6: planned neither.
- 59:31Speaker 1: It wasn't on my agenda anytime soon. No, And yeah,
- 59:34Speaker 1: like I don't think I would have ever gone to
- 59:36Speaker 1: South Korea in my lifetime if it wasn't for that
- 59:38Speaker 1: year and it was sick me neither. I had Japan
- 59:40Speaker 1: in my mind.
- 59:41Speaker 6: I wonder why, like does Korea actually like I feel
- 59:46Speaker 6: like Japan is a thing where it's like, oh well,
- 59:49Speaker 6: Australians love the snow.
- 59:51Speaker 1: True, it's that little bit closer. It's like an hour
- 59:53Speaker 1: and a half or two hours closer, isn't it?
- 59:55Speaker 2: Nine hour flight be fair?
- 59:56Speaker 1: As soon as you get over that ten you're like,
- 59:58Speaker 1: oh no, I'm good.
- 1:00:00Speaker 6: Since you get over yeah, and hows you know what's
- 1:00:02Speaker 6: a shitty flight that? Like I would prefer to flight
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: to Canada, which is like fourteen hours, then Hawaii, holf
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: fus Hawaii.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: It's only ten hours. But for some reason, it's just
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: the shittest fly. Why is that? I have no idea.
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: I just remember when I went I got My parents
- 1:00:15Speaker 6: took me when we were younger, which was like hectic,
- 1:00:17Speaker 6: super lucky, and I remember, I think it's because you
- 1:00:20Speaker 6: leave in the morning time or something, so you just
- 1:00:23Speaker 6: like don't sleep.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll tell you what I want to do. He's
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: another goal for next year. It's get like the best
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: sleeping pills ever, just fake like in some insomnia for
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: flights that would be sick. Like, you don't realize how
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: important sleeping pills are for flights because like that many
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: things wake you up, and to be able to knock
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: yourself out for eight ten hours on a flight is
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: like time travel. It's wild.
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: Actually, the only thing I will say is because my
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: mom has given me like a hectic sleeping pip once and.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: She said take half, and I was like the whole thing.
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: And I had one of those neck pillows that straps
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: to the back of it. I was in economy straps
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: to the headrest, and then I did it up in
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: front of my next so I wouldn't get like a
- 1:01:02Speaker 6: kinkneck from falling on it. So I just slept like this,
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: and I did sleep for about ten hours, but I
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: did wake up feeling like I was not really asleep.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: I was just like out tranquilized. Still time travel butt.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Should we check out marketplace?
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we'll.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Finish on that. We'll finish on that. Oh no way,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: we just got one three minutes ago. What good timing? Okay,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: full shit? Ooh oh okay, oh shit, we got heaps.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: So it is. I didn't think we were gonna get
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: a reply. My first Xbox one was four fifty high
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: load board with three hundred no sorry fuck, but Jake's
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: antique record player up for a hundred bucks, said we
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: will take fifty. He said eighty two steep let it go.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: But ooh ooh, so this is the Fighter one, and
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: he's actually come back with a counteroffer. Xbox Series S
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: said two fifty. It was up for three fifty. He said,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: three hundred is my lowest. Sorry, you actually genuinely want
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: an Xbox for a good reason though, Yeah, but I
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: don't want to spend three hundred bucks. If you're not
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: spending anything, you want to use it? I mean, yeah,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck. You can co ownership. It's introgle.
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: How do we I mean spend up a voca it's
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: in a vocal.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: Yeah we get.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Cash?
- 1:02:28Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Oh no, I don't.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: We'll go do it another day.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: It's fine, that's hilarious. No, I get it three hundred bucks.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Should I try and make it like, actually, try and
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: make it a tax deduction? Bro, this guy looks like
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: a kid. Tell him why we bought it? Well, tell
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: him why we bought it? Should get it? Might be
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: like a handwritten receipt. Make him I do this, Say
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: to tend him a message and be like, okay, I'll
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: get it. I'll spend three hundred.
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: But you have to set up an ab and you
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: have to set up yourself as a Soult trader, and
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: you have to invoice.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Me no, if we say it with the pot, I
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: think fine.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: I reckon.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: We could try. We'll see what our accountan says. He
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: might just be like you, dickare I think about I
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: feel bad's been surrounded when you don't. Maybe I just
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: give you threead to bucks to spend on something else.
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't care. I literally don't care. Just speak,
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: I'll just yeah, we can just give me three hundred
- 1:03:13Speaker 6: bucks and then sweet.
