- 0:00Speaker 1: When did the mc murray's get into wedding planning? I
- 0:03Speaker 1: wrote in all caps pick a lane? Are you a
- 0:06Speaker 1: wedding venue?
- 0:06Speaker 2: Now?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to you. Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark
- 0:26Speaker 1: review podcast. I'm Megan, I'm Wendy. Today we're sharing our
- 0:30Speaker 1: thoughts on episode eight of Ride Speak Now or Forever
- 0:34Speaker 1: Hold Your Peace? Alternate title too long didn't read totally.
- 0:40Speaker 1: If you want to connect with us outside of the podcast,
- 0:42Speaker 1: you can find us on Instagram. We are Girls Gone
- 0:44Speaker 1: Hallmark and Megan and Wendy jump into our Facebook group
- 0:48Speaker 1: Girls Gone Hallmark. Well, you know, we don't talk a
- 0:50Speaker 1: whole lot about Ride over there because uh, I don't
- 0:53Speaker 1: think a lot of people are watching it. Rumor has it.
- 0:56Speaker 1: There was a post about Ride this week and many
- 0:58Speaker 1: people said they had quit after a couple of episodes.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You can also email us at Meganandwindy at gmail dot
- 1:06Speaker 1: com with this writer strike going on right, and it
- 1:10Speaker 1: was Nina Weinman. Swift said on social media right that
- 1:15Speaker 1: Hallmark had been stockpiling holiday scripts. Yeah, but how many,
- 1:20Speaker 1: I wonder? Well, and you know they're never gonna tell us.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I know, but like over the last several years, haven't
- 1:26Speaker 1: they been pushing the number of Christmas movies from twenty
- 1:30Speaker 1: five to thirty to forty two or whatever it is.
- 1:33Speaker 1: There's no way they have that many, right, I would
- 1:36Speaker 1: say two things. One, Obviously, Hallmark is not the only
- 1:39Speaker 1: network that's going to be struggling with this. And while
- 1:41Speaker 1: Hallmark is always like we have the most, I think
- 1:43Speaker 1: everyone's going to struggle with this. I would be shocked
- 1:46Speaker 1: if Hallmark is able to put out the number of
- 1:49Speaker 1: movies they have in the past, unless there is a
- 1:51Speaker 1: resolution to the strike soon. But I do think it's
- 1:55Speaker 1: possible that in addition to stockpiling scripts, that maybe they
- 2:00Speaker 1: have scripts that never got made. I mean, how many
- 2:03Speaker 1: scripts have they acquired that never went through? Oh no,
- 2:06Speaker 1: and then we might get those. I am gonna say
- 2:09Speaker 1: from the point of a viewer, Hallmark, I understand you
- 2:13Speaker 1: want that sweet, sweet ad money that you can get
- 2:15Speaker 1: running three movies a weekend, But quality over quantity. I agree.
- 2:20Speaker 1: There's a good lesson to focus on here. And if
- 2:22Speaker 1: you have to postpone the launch, like don't show your
- 2:28Speaker 1: Christmas movies in October pre Halloween, maybe wait until Thanksgiving
- 2:33Speaker 1: weekend to launch it. I don't know Indeed, this whole
- 2:36Speaker 1: thought came to mind because I was thinking, how much
- 2:40Speaker 1: we love The Way Home, But we're not gonna get
- 2:42Speaker 1: a new season of the Way Home unless it's already written,
- 2:46Speaker 1: Oh for sure, and for a while, not for a while,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I would. I think originally was anticipating that we would
- 2:52Speaker 1: get it in January next year like we did this year,
- 2:55Speaker 1: and I'm like, I don't think that's gonna happen. And second,
- 2:57Speaker 1: they haven't even announced iff Ryde got picked for a
- 3:00Speaker 1: second season. If we get another season of Ride, it's
- 3:03Speaker 1: definitely not going to be for a while, right, And
- 3:06Speaker 1: that's going to be the case with a number of things.
- 3:08Speaker 1: It's going to be a bleak Fall TV season, I
- 3:11Speaker 1: think the reality. I mean, did you see that ABC
- 3:14Speaker 1: announced they're doing a Bachelor senior version. Oh my gosh,
- 3:18Speaker 1: stop it right now. That makes me so sad. And
- 3:22Speaker 1: I bet it's my age too. They're calling it the
- 3:24Speaker 1: Golden Bachelor. This article from Variety says it seems the
- 3:28Speaker 1: writer's strike pushed ABC over the edge, as the network
- 3:31Speaker 1: is now leaning heavily on unscripted content, bolstering their Fall
- 3:35Speaker 1: twenty twenty three schedule with reality shows. I feel like
- 3:39Speaker 1: the Golden Bachelor is just a super sign of the times.
- 3:42Speaker 1: It's like the first sign of the writer's strike apocalypse. Totally. Hey,
- 3:48Speaker 1: you want to talk viewership for Ride? I do. Sunday's
- 3:51Speaker 1: episode came in thirty seven out of one hundred and fifty.
- 3:55Speaker 1: It had a little less than one point one million viewers,
- 4:00Speaker 1: which is an actual increase from the week before. And
- 4:04Speaker 1: we also saw an increase to zero point one zero
- 4:08Speaker 1: of the demographic they're holding strong. I mean, the viewership's
- 4:11Speaker 1: not dropping off, no, but unfortunately for you, you know,
- 4:17Speaker 1: I feel a little bit bad. And let me say,
- 4:19Speaker 1: like we mentioned in our Facebook group, we were talking
- 4:22Speaker 1: about Ride and some people were like, I never never
- 4:25Speaker 1: continued watching after episode three, blah blah blah, and I
- 4:28Speaker 1: was like, I have to watch for my job. And
- 4:30Speaker 1: then I was like, I hope it gets canceled. And
- 4:32Speaker 1: I feel bad saying that because there's people who work
- 4:35Speaker 1: on these movies or their livelihood and whatever. Maybe I
- 4:39Speaker 1: don't hope it gets canceled. I just hope that the
- 4:42Speaker 1: problems get fixed, yeah this show. And I was like,
- 4:46Speaker 1: maybe it's me because, like I've said for many weeks
- 4:50Speaker 1: that this show doesn't leave me with like a weekly cliffhanger,
- 4:55Speaker 1: like a binge able show. And maybe I'm just programmed
- 4:59Speaker 1: that way to consume my entertainment that way. So maybe
- 5:03Speaker 1: I need to switch it back a little bit and
- 5:05Speaker 1: just be like I have to take it as like
- 5:07Speaker 1: one episode at a time. Yeah, maybe it's okay to
- 5:11Speaker 1: not enjoy something. It's not like you. It's not a
- 5:14Speaker 1: moral failing, and I like it. I will say episode
- 5:18Speaker 1: eight was a better episode. One thousand percent agree enjoyed
- 5:22Speaker 1: this episode. I'm glad to hear it. All right, you
- 5:24Speaker 1: want to jump into it. Sure, Let's talk about the
- 5:27Speaker 1: number of storylines in this episode. Okay, there were many
- 5:31Speaker 1: a lot going on, and it takes place over the
- 5:33Speaker 1: course of a day. And another thing this show does
- 5:37Speaker 1: that drives me crazy. Oh that's what I wanted to Okay,
- 5:40Speaker 1: this show, like we never the time in space is
- 5:44Speaker 1: very confusing, m M in this show for me, like,
- 5:47Speaker 1: like you said, like all these events happen in one day, right, Well,
- 5:50Speaker 1: listener Michelle had messages and she's like, I'm so confused.
- 5:53Speaker 1: There's snow on the ground when they're riding the horses.
- 5:57Speaker 1: When they're riding the horses, which I think is a
- 5:58Speaker 1: normal thing, like, right, ride horses in the snow. Yeah,
- 6:02Speaker 1: it's not a blizzard. There's like a patch of snow
- 6:04Speaker 1: on the ground behind me, right, But we we are
- 6:08Speaker 1: unfamiliar with, like what kind of time frame are we
- 6:10Speaker 1: working with? Nobody has ever like established that in this show. Right, Yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 1: we don't know this season. I gotta admit the snow
- 6:18Speaker 1: did not throw me, However I did once I saw
- 6:21Speaker 1: that comment, I've done a lot of thinking about it.
- 6:23Speaker 1: So I think a couple of things. One, it could
- 6:26Speaker 1: be fall right heading into winter. We're in Colorado. I
- 6:29Speaker 1: think Colorado has a really long snow season, Like it's
- 6:32Speaker 1: not out of the ordinary to get snow in fall
- 6:36Speaker 1: and snow into spring, right. And then I also think
- 6:40Speaker 1: Missy made the comment like, oh, I liked riding in
- 6:42Speaker 1: the high country on the morning of my wedding too,
- 6:46Speaker 1: So maybe where they're riding is like they've ridden at
- 6:49Speaker 1: a slightly higher elevation. Remember being in organ in the
- 6:51Speaker 1: summer and there was a patch of snow on the
- 6:53Speaker 1: ground at the top of that mountain. I remember being
- 6:56Speaker 1: in snow during the summertime in Oregon, Yes, a couple
- 6:59Speaker 1: of years ago. Yeah, yes, So perhaps that's just a
- 7:02Speaker 1: higher elevation that she was at and there's a little
- 7:04Speaker 1: patch of snow. Yeah. But where do they film this at?
- 7:08Speaker 1: It's in Canada somewhere though. Editor's note, this show is
- 7:12Speaker 1: filmed in Alberta, Canada. So I think it benefits the
- 7:17Speaker 1: show if they don't establish, like what time of year
- 7:21Speaker 1: it is because they're working with the weather elements there,
- 7:24Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So I'm nitpicking here. Yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 1: I'm not sure it matters if there's snow on the ground.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I really I don't think it matters. Yeah, okay, So
- 7:32Speaker 1: moving on to the storylines. Back to the storylines. First,
- 7:36Speaker 1: we have the Booker wedding and the runaway bride. Yeah right,
- 7:40Speaker 1: we have Cash Val Missy love triangle. Yes, we have
- 7:47Speaker 1: the questionable is Booker trying to bamboozle Isabelle? Cody and
- 7:53Speaker 1: Isabelle finally heat up a little bit, Yes, And finally
- 8:01Speaker 1: the return of the bad dude question? Is that the
- 8:05Speaker 1: bad guy with the neck tattoo Docker Clark? Yes? Okay?
- 8:09Speaker 1: And then we have maybe VAL's secret identity is revealed.
- 8:13Speaker 1: There's a lot happening in this episode. There is a
- 8:16Speaker 1: lot happening in this episode, and you know. That's my
- 8:18Speaker 1: biggest complaint is that nothing happens in these episodes. So yeah,
- 8:22Speaker 1: so big change. So finally, okay, let's talk about the
- 8:25Speaker 1: first storyline the book or wedding. Uh huh. And I
- 8:28Speaker 1: have a question for you. When did the mc murray's
- 8:31Speaker 1: get into wedding planning? I wrote in all caps, pick
- 8:34Speaker 1: a lane? Are you a wedding venue? Now? I think
- 8:37Speaker 1: this show is it trying to do too much while
- 8:39Speaker 1: also not doing enough? I don't know, right. I think
- 8:43Speaker 1: it's like they're throwing things at the wall in the
- 8:46Speaker 1: show to see how they can save this ranch. And
- 8:49Speaker 1: so after having that gallot at the ranch or like,
- 8:51Speaker 1: oh well, maybe we start being the premiere venue in
- 8:55Speaker 1: the location. But again, we just kind of get that
- 8:59Speaker 1: information exposition right. It's just all of a sudden, we're
- 9:02Speaker 1: hosting a wedding and by the way, all of the
- 9:06Speaker 1: ranch operations apparently cease that day and everyone in charge
- 9:09Speaker 1: of running the ranch is now a wedding coordinator? Right?
- 9:13Speaker 1: And did I completely miss the whole reason why they
- 9:16Speaker 1: were having the wedding there? Like, is it established because
- 9:20Speaker 1: Sophie is that the little girl? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 9:23Speaker 1: his niece gus his niece Y. Yeah, they said like, oh,
- 9:26Speaker 1: it's because it's Sophie's favorite place. They made a comment
- 9:28Speaker 1: coming off of the helicopter. Oh okay, and speaking of
- 9:32Speaker 1: the helicopter, I mean, I just don't understand. Well, I
- 9:35Speaker 1: guess I do now if Sophie, if that's Sophie's favorite place,
- 9:40Speaker 1: and we do things for our children, But these people
- 9:43Speaker 1: are bazillionaires, right, unless they come from oil, they're not
- 9:47Speaker 1: going to have it on this broke down ranch. Well,
- 9:50Speaker 1: unless the bride's daughter really wanted that, I guess. I guess. Now,
- 9:54Speaker 1: can we talk about Missy and Voul sure fully dressed
- 9:59Speaker 1: in black? They are planning to pass out or dubs? Okay,
- 10:03Speaker 1: I had to talk about the clothing here. Okay, half
- 10:06Speaker 1: the people are dressed for the wedding. Val isn't her
- 10:09Speaker 1: wedding outfit? Tough isn't a shirt and tie the entire
- 10:12Speaker 1: time he's setting up? But like Missy's and jeans, I
- 10:16Speaker 1: don't Some of them are like fully ready the entire
- 10:18Speaker 1: time they're preparing, and some of them are planning to change. Yeah,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I don't know. How hard is it for Tough to
- 10:24Speaker 1: go throw on a shirt and tie after he's done
- 10:26Speaker 1: all the sweaty work in the barn of moving liquor
- 10:29Speaker 1: bottles and chairs. I don't it's bizarre. Yeah, so yes,
- 10:33Speaker 1: why is she all in black? I don't know. And
- 10:35Speaker 1: then why are they fussing with this wedding dress? Why
- 10:38Speaker 1: do they even take it out? Right? Like I was
- 10:43Speaker 1: thinking this Sree yesterday, I was like, okay, well, if
- 10:45Speaker 1: the dress was delivered to the ranch, I can see
- 10:48Speaker 1: how they were like, let's take it out of the
- 10:50Speaker 1: box and put it on a mannequin so it's not wrinkled,
- 10:53Speaker 1: this thirty five thousand dollars dress whatever? Even put it
- 10:56Speaker 1: on the mannequin. Hang it up. Take it out of
- 10:58Speaker 1: the box. It's on a hanger. I get garantee you
- 11:00Speaker 1: and hang it up. Where did they get a mannequin
- 11:04Speaker 1: from a dress form? Yeah, that's a good question, because
- 11:08Speaker 1: Valeria seems to have some talent in this area. But
- 11:11Speaker 1: she's got a dress form hanging around. Okay, just don't
- 11:14Speaker 1: touch the dress, you dummies. Of course something was gonna
- 11:18Speaker 1: happen to it. And could you not see this coming
- 11:20Speaker 1: a mile away? Classic Hallmark? I jinks. Yeah, so we
- 11:26Speaker 1: got runaway sister. I can't even remember what her name is.
- 11:29Speaker 1: But is it Missy's place to discuss anything with the
- 11:33Speaker 1: sister about her love for her fiance, Like had she
- 11:40Speaker 1: ever met this chick before? I don't think so. Are
- 11:45Speaker 1: you telling me you're gonna get into this deep conversation?
- 11:49Speaker 1: Like I feel like Missy is projecting onto this relationship, right, Yes,
- 11:54Speaker 1: I did think the sister did not. I didn't disagree
- 11:58Speaker 1: with Missy's assessment of this city situation. Yes, but it's
- 12:01Speaker 1: not Missy's place. Shut your mouth. Yes, it's just like,
- 12:04Speaker 1: I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news that
- 12:08Speaker 1: your daughter ran away in the car. Which is this
- 12:11Speaker 1: car storyline going to become something more because the bad
- 12:16Speaker 1: guy Tucker Clark. Eh, I think it just that just
- 12:19Speaker 1: served to remind us if this guy existed. And then
- 12:22Speaker 1: at the end of the episode we get that Valeria
- 12:24Speaker 1: has some big reveal. I kind of think the car
- 12:28Speaker 1: par is done. Okay, good, Well she left in it
- 12:31Speaker 1: a two hundred thousand dollars car apparently, I mean, dudes
- 12:35Speaker 1: can charter a helicopter to fly to a ranch. So right,
- 12:40Speaker 1: so when Missy breaks the news, I gotta tell you,
- 12:43Speaker 1: like Daniel Booker, the dad, it was almost comical how
- 12:47Speaker 1: he freaks the f out. Yes, it's like, we're out
- 12:50Speaker 1: of here. This is on you, Missy and Isabelle. You
- 12:54Speaker 1: gotta deal with the wedding people like what? So I
- 12:58Speaker 1: fully agree Daniel's like, what did you say to her?
- 13:00Speaker 1: I wrote, Daniel, what the hell? And then do you
- 13:03Speaker 1: know how much business is gonna cost me? Ugh? I
- 13:07Speaker 1: wrote I hate these Bookers. Yeah, I don't like them either,
- 13:11Speaker 1: but I will tell you I think Castine is really
- 13:14Speaker 1: great for Daniel Booker because he plays a really unlikable person.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Oh agree with It's good casting. I did love the
- 13:23Speaker 1: final Booker scene at the wedding. The mother is talking
- 13:26Speaker 1: to she tucks to Missy and then she talks to
- 13:28Speaker 1: Hilaria and she's like talking about how she recognized her.
- 13:31Speaker 1: But when she's talking to Missy, Gus is standing outside
- 13:36Speaker 1: and Daniel's in the car, and he like rolls down
- 13:39Speaker 1: the window and peeks out at them. It's hilarious. I
- 13:42Speaker 1: think he's trying to be like, well, go wit. He
- 13:44Speaker 1: doesn't want to get involved anyway. There's just this little
- 13:46Speaker 1: shot of Daniel peeking out the window of their car.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Question what car are they in? They arrived in a helicopter.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm sure they snapped their little money
- 13:54Speaker 1: fingers and someone arrived for them, uber xol. Let me
- 13:58Speaker 1: tell you what I like about this storyline. Hmmm. They
- 14:02Speaker 1: had a whole little quick montage of Valve fixing the dress.
- 14:06Speaker 1: It was very pretty and pink when she was like
- 14:08Speaker 1: sewing the dress and penning the dress like with the music.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I kind of loved it because I like a montage.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I like a montage too. Let me point out, you know,
- 14:17Speaker 1: Valeria is a ranch hand, right you head, ranch hand
- 14:20Speaker 1: or whatever. I liked. Whatever she is, she works with
- 14:23Speaker 1: her hands. Yeah, and while she was fixing this dress, like,
- 14:27Speaker 1: they showed her hands, and I appreciated that she had
- 14:30Speaker 1: like working hands, like she didn't have a fresh manicure.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I didn't notice. I doubt there was any thought put
- 14:36Speaker 1: into that other but I was like, Okay, that makes
- 14:40Speaker 1: it a little believable to me that she actually works
- 14:43Speaker 1: on this ranch. Yes, do you want to talk about
- 14:47Speaker 1: the love triangle? Okay? I do, Okay, go ahead. Earlier
- 14:51Speaker 1: in this episode, val is confiding and Missy about how
- 14:55Speaker 1: she thinks something might be happening right after Cash has
- 14:57Speaker 1: left their house and miss is so transparent. She's like, oh,
- 15:03Speaker 1: you'll like Cash. It was not in the way a
- 15:07Speaker 1: friend has a conversation with another friend about a love interest.
- 15:12Speaker 1: It's in a digging way and about Valeria's like, well,
- 15:16Speaker 1: I know might be odd, and she's like, no, what
- 15:18Speaker 1: are you talking about. I'm his coach. I'm like, Missy, no,
- 15:22Speaker 1: you are a terrible actress in this moment and not
- 15:24Speaker 1: on the show, but to your friend. I agree. I
- 15:28Speaker 1: think they needed to establish that, like Missy was not
- 15:32Speaker 1: okay about it, but like in the know about it yet.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I feel like Valeria needed Missy's like approval before fully
- 15:43Speaker 1: pursuing or going in on Cash. But now we're talking
- 15:46Speaker 1: like weeks. They've been going back and forth over flirting
- 15:49Speaker 1: and whatever for weeks now, so I'm not sure that Valeria.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I think it's a nice move on Valeria's part that
- 15:58Speaker 1: she clears it with Missy because obviously she's seen the
- 16:01Speaker 1: way Cash looks at Missy. Yeah. But on the other hand,
- 16:05Speaker 1: I don't think Missy has any rightful claim. It's not
- 16:08Speaker 1: like she's dating her ex, whether or not there's unresolved
- 16:12Speaker 1: feelings there. Missy doesn't have any actual claim right on Cash.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Right now. I gotta tell you, I feel like Cash
- 16:20Speaker 1: is a real dick in this episode. Oh yeah, my
- 16:23Speaker 1: heart broke for Valeria. They have this moment right where
- 16:28Speaker 1: she's like, basically like what are we doing? And he's
- 16:31Speaker 1: like I'm all in. They kiss, yes, Then within a
- 16:36Speaker 1: couple hours he's like best friends forever, you know, or
- 16:40Speaker 1: something like that. I was like, how heartbreaking? How heartbreaking? Yes,
- 16:45Speaker 1: I wrote oh vow with a heartbreak emoji next to it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: She's just like collateral damage, like and it makes my
- 16:52Speaker 1: heart hurt, you know. I have to say that. I
- 16:54Speaker 1: think that the demise of Gus and Missy and Cash
- 16:59Speaker 1: and Valaria happened a lot faster than I thought it might.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I thought Cash and Valeria would see it through to
- 17:05Speaker 1: an actual relationship before it fell apart. Oh interesting, Well,
- 17:10Speaker 1: I think that's what they needed to do. Like, if
- 17:12Speaker 1: you really want this love triangle to be, like, if
- 17:14Speaker 1: you want your viewers to be invested in it, it
- 17:16Speaker 1: needs to be drawn out. Wait, you need to see
- 17:19Speaker 1: them with the wrong people for a little while. Yes, exactly,
- 17:22Speaker 1: And here it's all happening in one episode and even
- 17:25Speaker 1: Gus Gus is like I need a break, Like first
- 17:27Speaker 1: of all, your sister running out on this wedding. It's
- 17:30Speaker 1: not about you, dude, Like he was all like PTSD
- 17:34Speaker 1: about it, right, Yes, what a disappointment, I said, I know,
- 17:37Speaker 1: I know you've been like writing hard for Gus since
- 17:40Speaker 1: the beginning of this show, I like, and for him
- 17:42Speaker 1: to be like I need a break now or I
- 17:45Speaker 1: know he didn't say those words, but it just is like,
- 17:48Speaker 1: what does this have to do with you? Also, her
- 17:52Speaker 1: fiance never shows up right, so they're like, apparently the
- 17:56Speaker 1: wedding is about to start because she was getting into
- 17:59Speaker 1: her dress right like she was getting ready, they must
- 18:02Speaker 1: be closed. They're all at the venue except for the
- 18:04Speaker 1: fiance who's not there. But Gus has to be like
- 18:08Speaker 1: the emotional collateral damage there. And then he blames Missy.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Oh is this all about you and your commitment issues?
- 18:15Speaker 1: What the hell? Gus? Yeah? Yeah, So do you think
- 18:17Speaker 1: like that's the end of Gus and Missy? Then I
- 18:20Speaker 1: could see him coming back and apologizing. I hope Missy
- 18:24Speaker 1: is like, I'm sorry, I can't be with anybody who
- 18:26Speaker 1: would do that to me in an emotional moment, like
- 18:29Speaker 1: put all that blame on me. I mean, I hope
- 18:31Speaker 1: she does I hope she does too, But again to
- 18:34Speaker 1: your point, I do think we need to drag out
- 18:36Speaker 1: the tension between Missy cannot be immediately available for Cash, right,
- 18:41Speaker 1: I hope she's not. There's so many moments here, like
- 18:46Speaker 1: with the ring box is back and she's like, it
- 18:50Speaker 1: showed me that he knew be better than anybody else.
- 18:52Speaker 1: And we see the night before Missy and Austin's wedding,
- 18:57Speaker 1: with Cash telling Austin you don't even see her out
- 19:01Speaker 1: of her relationship to him, and bull riding like she
- 19:04Speaker 1: exists to further his career, and Cash sees her for
- 19:09Speaker 1: who she is. You don't love her the way she
- 19:11Speaker 1: deserves to be loved. Cash says, yeah, well, I gotta
- 19:14Speaker 1: tell you in this scene here, in that flashback scene,
- 19:18Speaker 1: Marcus Frossner is super gorgeous. Yeah, smoking hut. I mean,
- 19:23Speaker 1: I was like really looking at him, and I felt
- 19:25Speaker 1: like uncomfortable, like I was looking at a real person
- 19:27Speaker 1: in real life, but it was on my TV and
- 19:29Speaker 1: I was like, wow, he's got like these really nice
- 19:31Speaker 1: dimples and scruff and a nice jaw line. And I
- 19:35Speaker 1: looked him up on IMDb because I was like, what
- 19:36Speaker 1: do I need to watch him in because he's super fine.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Uh huh, but he doesn't have a ton of like
- 19:43Speaker 1: Hallmark movies, Like what how does the Hallmark community know
- 19:46Speaker 1: him so well? Was he in the Love Club movie
- 19:48Speaker 1: that we watched? We just watched him in that Romance
- 19:52Speaker 1: to the Rescue we watched that. Maybe it's just the scruff,
- 19:57Speaker 1: Maybe it's just this bde energy he's got going on,
- 20:01Speaker 1: and I don't know, I don't know what it is.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Oh he was in Unreal, Oh shocker. Oh he was
- 20:06Speaker 1: in Once Upon a Time, a show I never seen. No,
- 20:10Speaker 1: but he's got all of the Hallmark actor bingo card moments.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Can we talk about Gus being married really quickly? I
- 20:18Speaker 1: just want to say, what terrible friend or family member
- 20:21Speaker 1: let him stand at the altar for thirty minutes waiting
- 20:25Speaker 1: for her to show up? Though? You let him get
- 20:29Speaker 1: to the altar and then stand there for thirty minutes? Yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 1: your family sucks. She's gonna come, She's gonna call me
- 20:36Speaker 1: many minute now, gonna walk the mile. Moving on. Do
- 20:40Speaker 1: we think Daniel Booker is trying to bamboozle Isabelle for
- 20:44Speaker 1: the naming rights? Do you think he's serious? Do you
- 20:47Speaker 1: think he's just like I'm gonna throw this out here
- 20:49Speaker 1: and see if this chick fights me, because Hank's not
- 20:51Speaker 1: available for filming today, so he's gone fishing. So I'm
- 20:56Speaker 1: just gonna see what I can get away with some
- 20:58Speaker 1: name recognition here. If that is the motive that really
- 21:02Speaker 1: pisses me off, yeah, well one other motive is nice
- 21:05Speaker 1: though there's no nice motive. No, there's no nice motive.
- 21:08Speaker 1: But I was like, are you going to be slimy?
- 21:11Speaker 1: Like that's what I hate when white businessmen who like
- 21:17Speaker 1: take advantage of people. Sure, at the beginning, when they
- 21:21Speaker 1: have the plans for McMurray Stadium on the table, my
- 21:25Speaker 1: first reaction, to throw back to last week's episode when
- 21:29Speaker 1: you said Austin's cheating is going to come back, my
- 21:32Speaker 1: first reaction was, Ooh, this might be a bad idea
- 21:35Speaker 1: naming it after themselves, right, uh huh. But then as
- 21:39Speaker 1: soon as Daniel Booker comes through and calls it Booker Stadium,
- 21:43Speaker 1: I immediately get defensive of their desire to name it
- 21:46Speaker 1: McMurray Stadium. Yes, I feel the same way, but I
- 21:50Speaker 1: feel that Isabel leaned in hard again in this episode
- 21:56Speaker 1: about the reputation of the McMurray's and I think it's
- 22:02Speaker 1: going to come back and bite them in the butt.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Austin's cheating. I think you're right. I just have a feeling.
- 22:09Speaker 1: But I don't know two episodes are we gonna I
- 22:12Speaker 1: don't know. That could be a real cliffhanger moment, and
- 22:15Speaker 1: I think Booker's gonna go in for the kill in
- 22:18Speaker 1: that moment, He's gonna take their property or I don't know.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I don't know. Something's gonna happen. It's gonna have to
- 22:24Speaker 1: do something with that. I think Booker's just a bad
- 22:28Speaker 1: guy and his wife. I go back and forth on
- 22:32Speaker 1: throughout the episode, but the moment, though I strongly disliked her,
- 22:38Speaker 1: was as the Bookers are arriving and Gus is introducing
- 22:42Speaker 1: everybody to Missy. She goes, yes, dear, I've met your
- 22:45Speaker 1: girlfriend many times on the computer. Not I Missy, nice
- 22:48Speaker 1: to meet you, like any normal human would behave. Did
- 22:52Speaker 1: you see that scene when she comes in and she's like,
- 22:54Speaker 1: these chairs need to be a certain distance apart from her.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Can she excuse me? That's almost three feet That doesn't
- 23:02Speaker 1: even make sense. Okay, But the part that I mean
- 23:05Speaker 1: she's talking to Isabelle and they walk over to this table.
- 23:08Speaker 1: She pours herself a glass of champagne, and you see
- 23:10Speaker 1: Isabelle has an empty glass too, Like she goes to
- 23:13Speaker 1: have it filled up and the lady doesn't fill it up.
- 23:15Speaker 1: And Isabel's like, okay, this is funny. It was funny.
- 23:19Speaker 1: It was like to me there, I was like I
- 23:21Speaker 1: could be reading into it, but like it. This is
- 23:23Speaker 1: where we have two different kinds of people. You have
- 23:25Speaker 1: a very self centered, rich woman and then you have
- 23:28Speaker 1: Isabelle who's like a very of the people, you know
- 23:30Speaker 1: what I mean. Like we're gonna we're gonna break bread together,
- 23:32Speaker 1: We're gonna have a drink together, and like talk about
- 23:35Speaker 1: family or whatever. Shall we talk about sweet Cody and Isabelle.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I was so happy about this story. Oh I'm so glad.
- 23:44Speaker 1: It's an extremely slow burn. Yeah. But what I love
- 23:49Speaker 1: about Cody is his presence. And he is just someone
- 23:54Speaker 1: that Isabelle can trust and rely on. Yes, he's always
- 23:58Speaker 1: there right, yeah, And he's there for her. Everyone else
- 24:02Speaker 1: has their own other agenda going on, even the kids,
- 24:05Speaker 1: m m. But he's only there for her. Now, two things,
- 24:10Speaker 1: why would this guy be doing the floral arrangements. Very
- 24:13Speaker 1: curious why he's even there. This is the horseshoeer. I
- 24:16Speaker 1: don't understand why he's there, But I'm glad. I'm happy
- 24:20Speaker 1: that he came through. But you're telling me the bookers
- 24:22Speaker 1: didn't hire a florist for this wedding. McMurray's. You need
- 24:27Speaker 1: to have a wedding punting staff on hand. You need
- 24:30Speaker 1: to have a relationship with vendors. This is the florist
- 24:34Speaker 1: we contract with. These are our caterers. Like, is she
- 24:37Speaker 1: cooking all the food for this event? Maybe? Yeah, I
- 24:40Speaker 1: don't know. Yeah, it was weird, but I loved at
- 24:43Speaker 1: the end where he was like you basically like no,
- 24:46Speaker 1: I am asking you out. We are going to do
- 24:48Speaker 1: this plus one. Yeah, that was real sweet. It was
- 24:51Speaker 1: real sweet. Yeah. I really liked that moment because he's
- 24:54Speaker 1: been very respectful and very reactive. He doesn't make any
- 24:59Speaker 1: first moves, and I liked in that moment where he
- 25:02Speaker 1: made the moves. Now, let me tell you earlier, I
- 25:05Speaker 1: was poking fun at everybody wearing black, like they were
- 25:07Speaker 1: wearing their caterer outfits. Yeah, Isabelle too had to toe black,
- 25:11Speaker 1: but she looks smoking hot. Nancy Travis looked really good.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And we always see Isabelle in like a flannel and
- 25:18Speaker 1: jeans and you know, very on the ranch. She looks
- 25:23Speaker 1: really sexy here. Yeah, I did think a lot of
- 25:26Speaker 1: their outfits were all for different occasions, like Valeria's wearing
- 25:30Speaker 1: this like cocktail dress, where missus dress is very like
- 25:32Speaker 1: afternoon barbecue. Yes, in the snow. Yes, it was like
- 25:37Speaker 1: what's happening here? I mean they all looked good. I
- 25:39Speaker 1: didn't hate Missy's dress, but I just thought, like, we're
- 25:41Speaker 1: not all dressed for the same event here. Yes, and
- 25:43Speaker 1: Missus a or pageant queen. I mean she knows how
- 25:45Speaker 1: to dress. Return to the bad dude. Well, we already
- 25:48Speaker 1: talked about this really, Yes, he did you notice that
- 25:52Speaker 1: he had the buckle that Isabelle noticed was missing. Oh,
- 25:55Speaker 1: I was wondering. I couldn't figure it out. I was like,
- 25:58Speaker 1: why is he showboating this buckle? Which was a scene
- 26:01Speaker 1: that almost looked like he was gonna grab his balls? Yes,
- 26:04Speaker 1: do you know what I mean? Yes, Okay, I do.
- 26:07Speaker 1: It was like what's happening here? But I didn't realize
- 26:10Speaker 1: there was a missing buckle. Isabelle had commented on it
- 26:13Speaker 1: earlier when they were looking at the memorabilia, and she goes, oh,
- 26:17Speaker 1: one's missing, and mother Booker notes exactly which one is missing?
- 26:21Speaker 1: She's done her homework. Yes, cut to Tough in the
- 26:25Speaker 1: bar and the car arrives and Tough goes, where'd you
- 26:27Speaker 1: get that buckle?
- 26:28Speaker 2: So?
- 26:29Speaker 1: Where did he get that buckle? Did vlaria I have
- 26:33Speaker 1: something to do with it? How long had it been missing?
- 26:37Speaker 1: Did she steal it to pay off her debts? Is
- 26:40Speaker 1: there something else going on? Because we get another flash
- 26:44Speaker 1: forward of a flash back like scenes from next week
- 26:47Speaker 1: of a flashback of Austin saying to her, I know
- 26:50Speaker 1: your secrets. I think her secret's bigger than gambling debts.
- 26:54Speaker 1: As a reminder, we know that Valeria comes from money
- 26:57Speaker 1: have some sort of hidden backstory. In the very bigin
- 27:00Speaker 1: of this episode, she makes a comment about the lace
- 27:03Speaker 1: and Missy's like, since when are you an expert in lace?
- 27:05Speaker 1: And Valeria is like, hmmm, how does Missy either? Does
- 27:08Speaker 1: Valeria have an expert backstory? Like? Is she just like, oh,
- 27:11Speaker 1: my family's dead, like you'll never see them again. Where
- 27:14Speaker 1: does Missy think she came from? Yeah? She just poof
- 27:17Speaker 1: out of thin air. Yeah, it's almost like the way
- 27:20Speaker 1: home where, Like what the hell is her name? No
- 27:22Speaker 1: one questions that Alice doesn't have a home exactly. She
- 27:26Speaker 1: just always emerges out of the woods every single time
- 27:29Speaker 1: with wet hair. Yeah, it's like that. It's like nobody
- 27:32Speaker 1: asks questions of Valeria, like tell me, but where are
- 27:35Speaker 1: you from? Where's your story? Like nothing. I think Valeria
- 27:39Speaker 1: is the key storyline in this episode. The wedding drives
- 27:42Speaker 1: it forward, but obviously we don't care about the wedding,
- 27:46Speaker 1: just all of the effects of the wedding and from
- 27:50Speaker 1: Gus's mom recognizing Valeria I never miss a face and
- 27:53Speaker 1: she assumes that she worked somewhere that they used to
- 27:57Speaker 1: go and she says it'll come to me. And there's
- 28:01Speaker 1: all these little moments that are adding up and val
- 28:04Speaker 1: breaks down to Tough. Do you well this scene was
- 28:08Speaker 1: very nice where Tough was like you're our family, Like
- 28:11Speaker 1: I thought that was really nice. Do you think she
- 28:14Speaker 1: like finally tells him everything? I do? Okay, I think
- 28:19Speaker 1: it has to be because they go into the house
- 28:21Speaker 1: and they have to tell Isabella and Missy. I think
- 28:24Speaker 1: they do. But is she just gonna tell who she is?
- 28:28Speaker 1: Or are we finally going to get the big secret too.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I don't think who she is is enough of a
- 28:33Speaker 1: revelation that tough needs to have this. We need to
- 28:36Speaker 1: have a talk with Isabella and Missy. Yeah, there has
- 28:40Speaker 1: to be something bad. I was formerly a rich girl
- 28:43Speaker 1: and my mom died, and for some reason, I'll be interested.
- 28:45Speaker 1: This is the first time. This is the first time.
- 28:47Speaker 1: The end of this episode, I was like, Okay, now
- 28:49Speaker 1: I'm interested to see what happens next week. I have
- 28:51Speaker 1: a couple questions that we didn't address, and I just
- 28:53Speaker 1: want to throw out there. Okay, one, why do you
- 28:56Speaker 1: Cash and Valeria run out the back door of the
- 28:58Speaker 1: house and through the feel with the dress. I don't know,
- 29:02Speaker 1: hang it up in a closet. Ybozo's yeah, hide it.
- 29:05Speaker 1: You don't have to run away with it. Valeria asking Missy, oh,
- 29:10Speaker 1: are you going to be in the family photos? They've
- 29:12Speaker 1: been dating for like an hour and a half. No,
- 29:14Speaker 1: she is not going to be in the family photos.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I don't know if you caught it, but when Isabel
- 29:19Speaker 1: rolls up the McMurray Stadium plans, she rolls them diagonally,
- 29:23Speaker 1: like she's just trying to roll them up quickly, and
- 29:25Speaker 1: she does it diagonally in the end of a cone
- 29:26Speaker 1: and it drives me bananas did not notice that. Nope.
- 29:31Speaker 1: At one point when the dress was ruined, I wasn't
- 29:33Speaker 1: sure if they were going to be able to fix it.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I wondered, is she gonna wear Missy's dress?
- 29:37Speaker 2: Oh?
- 29:38Speaker 1: That would have been weird. Mmmmmm. I likes the final
- 29:42Speaker 1: conversation between Isabelle and Missy. They're talking about relationships, and
- 29:48Speaker 1: Isabelle says, I just like to skip the whining and
- 29:50Speaker 1: dining part, and Missy's like, I like the whining and dining.
- 29:54Speaker 1: I just want someone to wake up to. I liked
- 29:56Speaker 1: that conversation, but if I had a date again, I
- 29:59Speaker 1: agree with Isabelle. I don't want to do the whining, dining,
- 30:02Speaker 1: getting to know you nonsense, the dating actual part of it, yes, no,
- 30:06Speaker 1: thank you, just skip to the comfortably in a relationship part. Hey, friends,
