Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpis.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Playfake, go to roll right, dumps it off into the
- 0:07Speaker 2: right class to Michael Bumpers, who bounces off of one tackler,
- 0:10Speaker 2: gets inside the forty down of the thirty five yard line.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Matt pumpfake's looking at the god line, he throws it
- 0:17Speaker 2: into the m zone.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Touchdown. Say Hawks, it's.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Michael Thumps with a diving catching the end zone on
- 0:24Speaker 3: ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid out
- 0:27Speaker 3: of Washington State has found himself a place on this team.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Now here's your host, Nasa Joviie.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk.
- 0:37Speaker 5: The Seahawks fall to the forty nine Ers twenty eight
- 0:40Speaker 5: to sixteen in a hard fought game down there in
- 0:42Speaker 5: Santa Clara. It is the fourth loss in a row,
- 0:46Speaker 5: the first time ever during the Pete Carroll era. This
- 0:49Speaker 5: game was a little bit more competitive in the the
- 0:50Speaker 5: last four against the San Francisco forty nine Ers.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Drew Locke gets the start at quarterback.
- 0:55Speaker 5: With Gino dealing with a groin injury, so bump after
- 0:58Speaker 5: looking at the film, taking a day to digest everything
- 1:01Speaker 5: you saw. What stands out the most from yesterday's game?
- 1:07Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:07Speaker 7: Man, what stands out the most obviously the explosive plays
- 1:11Speaker 7: made by the forty nine ers. Man, they got ten
- 1:14Speaker 7: plays where they gained three hundred and sixty five yards
- 1:18Speaker 7: on ten plays. If you eliminate those ten plays, all right,
- 1:21Speaker 7: there's forty three other plays. Those forty three other plays,
- 1:24Speaker 7: they're only averaging three point seven yards per play. So
- 1:27Speaker 7: I'm looking at the explosive and saying, goodness, gracious, the
- 1:30Speaker 7: explosive stood out, and there were explosives that could have
- 1:34Speaker 7: been prevented. Now, sometimes guys just gonna make plays, right,
- 1:36Speaker 7: Degal's gonna make a play.
- 1:38Speaker 6: Kills are gonna make a play.
- 1:39Speaker 7: But some of those I go, well, if a guy
- 1:41Speaker 7: is just where he's supposed to be, then maybe it's
- 1:43Speaker 7: not as an explosive play.
- 1:46Speaker 6: Then I look at Drew Locke.
- 1:47Speaker 7: I thought Drew played all right, man, I thought he
- 1:49Speaker 7: made a few questionable decisions. But I think every quarterback
- 1:53Speaker 7: does that. Rock Perrie through an interception. It wasn't a
- 1:55Speaker 7: bad decision, more of a bad throw. But things are
- 1:57Speaker 7: gonna happen, excuse me. Twenty eight to sixteen. Technically they
- 2:02Speaker 7: were still in this game. Yeah, just didn't feel like
- 2:04Speaker 7: they were in the game.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Yeah, you know when they went up ten to seven
- 2:09Speaker 5: and then it was the debo player was a third
- 2:11Speaker 5: and eleven. That one really hurt because they take the
- 2:13Speaker 5: lead on that play, and every time you felt like
- 2:15Speaker 5: it was kind of a theme. Every time you felt
- 2:17Speaker 5: the Seas were about to get back into the game
- 2:18Speaker 5: or they had an opportunity, they either had to punt
- 2:21Speaker 5: the football or they couldn't get a stop, or they
- 2:22Speaker 5: gave it an explosive because it wasn't like they got
- 2:24Speaker 5: shut down. They had a ton of explosive as well offensively,
- 2:28Speaker 5: but just didn't you know, come through on the final score.
- 2:32Speaker 5: So let's go through that game. See how we got
- 2:34Speaker 5: to twenty eight sixteen.
- 2:35Speaker 4: What had happened. See what happened.
- 2:37Speaker 1: At first was.
- 2:39Speaker 6: What happened was what had happened.
- 2:41Speaker 5: Was unhowked talk well when you drop how a game
- 2:45Speaker 5: should start, bump, probably not how you'd want to draw
- 2:48Speaker 5: it up against a team like San Francisco.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Couldn't started any worse for.
- 2:51Speaker 5: The Seahawks defense, as they won the toss to fur
- 2:53Speaker 5: to the second half, but on the first play from scrimmage,
- 2:56Speaker 5: Christiancaffrey just takes a little toss to the left, go
- 2:59Speaker 5: seventy two yards down to the three yard line.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Boom.
- 3:02Speaker 5: One play later, Jordan Mason punched it in for a
- 3:05Speaker 5: touchdown that made the score seven to zero. That one
- 3:08Speaker 5: was frustrating because it sucks. You're all, you know, the
- 3:12Speaker 5: players are amped up, you're ready to go in the
- 3:13Speaker 5: first play, and it wasn't like the forty nine ers
- 3:16Speaker 5: hit you with some trickeration, which is something they could
- 3:18Speaker 5: do right with the Shanahan offenses, and that they just
- 3:21Speaker 5: came out and said, hey, we're going a little little toss.
- 3:24Speaker 4: See how to defend this. We have a couple guys
- 3:25Speaker 4: in the same gap.
- 3:26Speaker 5: They hit a play boom seventy two yards in the
- 3:29Speaker 5: end zone a play later. But was really promising for me,
- 3:33Speaker 5: bump was how the Seahawks responded. They responded in a
- 3:35Speaker 5: big way. Drew Locke got the start at quarterback as
- 3:37Speaker 5: we said earlier, and orchestrated in eight play seventy five
- 3:41Speaker 5: yard drive ending with a thirty one yard touchdown DK
- 3:44Speaker 5: metcalf that tied the score up at seven, And I
- 3:46Speaker 5: was just really excited to see the Seahawks do that
- 3:48Speaker 5: because after the first play there, you were thinking, man,
- 3:51Speaker 5: this game can get out of hand and they could
- 3:52Speaker 5: get boat raced.
- 3:53Speaker 4: But it was good to see the offense responding the
- 3:54Speaker 4: way they did.
- 3:56Speaker 7: Yeah, they did respond man, and Drew Luckls what four
- 3:58Speaker 7: for five on that drive as well. Nice to see him,
- 4:01Speaker 7: you know, come off the bench essentially and look pretty good.
- 4:04Speaker 7: The next three drives would end in punts two by
- 4:07Speaker 7: the forty nine ers. Up the Hawks would get on
- 4:09Speaker 7: the board once again, but needed to settle for three
- 4:11Speaker 7: points after fifty yard drives stalled in the Redsulu. You
- 4:14Speaker 7: hate to see it, but it was set up by
- 4:16Speaker 7: two to twenty three yard runs by Zach Sharponey. I
- 4:18Speaker 7: thought he was gonna have a big game the way
- 4:20Speaker 7: he started. The Hawks took the lead. It was ten
- 4:22Speaker 7: to seven. The Hawks will then force a turnover on
- 4:24Speaker 7: then suing drive when Julian Love intercepted brock Purty. Unfortunately,
- 4:27Speaker 7: the Hawks will not take advantage of that situation and
- 4:29Speaker 7: would give the ball right back to the forty nine
- 4:31Speaker 7: to five plays later. Then the forty nine Ers take
- 4:34Speaker 7: the lead on the enduing drive after brock Purty connected
- 4:36Speaker 7: with Deebo Samuel for fifty four yard touchdown, the one
- 4:39Speaker 7: you mentioned on third and eleven going across the middle
- 4:42Speaker 7: of the field that made the score four, ten and
- 4:43Speaker 7: ten as both teams ran through the tunnel at halftimes,
- 4:47Speaker 7: Let's talk about the second half. The first three drives
- 4:49Speaker 7: of the second half ended in punts two by the Seahawks,
- 4:52Speaker 7: and then the forty nine Ers will go on a
- 4:54Speaker 7: seventh place seventy five yard drive ending with another Deebo
- 4:58Speaker 7: Samuel touchdown that made to score twenty one to ten.
- 5:02Speaker 5: So, man, coming out of halftime, you're amped up. Everything
- 5:05Speaker 5: you just talked about. That one really hurt because you
- 5:07Speaker 5: were like, they're in this game, and when you're playing
- 5:09Speaker 5: the forty nine Ers at least the last five times,
- 5:13Speaker 5: when you get down by more than ten, it gets hard.
- 5:16Speaker 5: They're so good defensively, they're so loaded on offense that
- 5:19Speaker 5: ten points sometimes feels like thirty against them. But in
- 5:22Speaker 5: this game, again, I love how they Seahawks will respond,
- 5:26Speaker 5: excuse me, Drew Locke on the next drive, and they
- 5:30Speaker 5: took a little page out of Kyle Shanahan's playbook, which
- 5:34Speaker 5: I love. We're going to get that into the film room.
- 5:36Speaker 5: But you run a little double fake screen one a
- 5:38Speaker 5: JSON one of kin Walker Boom you cook up with
- 5:41Speaker 5: Kolbe Parkinson in the end zone for a twenty five
- 5:43Speaker 5: yard touchdown. The Seahawks would go for two, wouldn't get it,
- 5:47Speaker 5: which was tough because then they made them down by
- 5:50Speaker 5: five instead of four. But anyway, it's still one possession
- 5:52Speaker 5: game to one possession game. You are still in the game.
- 5:55Speaker 5: If you get one stop, you know, who knows what
- 5:57Speaker 5: could happen. But of course, boom again to forty nine.
- 6:00Speaker 5: Ers respawn right back with a three play seventy five
- 6:03Speaker 5: yard drive, ending with a forty four yard touchdown at
- 6:06Speaker 5: George Kittle That made to score twenty eight to sixteen,
- 6:09Speaker 5: and again it's big play after big play after big play.
- 6:12Speaker 5: The Niners continue to just execute. But they weren't going
- 6:15Speaker 5: fourteen sixteen plays, which I wouldn't love either, but at
- 6:19Speaker 5: least you tip the cap, say hey, they really had
- 6:21Speaker 5: to earn it. But unfortunately they just had short drives
- 6:24Speaker 5: and kept cashing in.
- 6:26Speaker 7: Yeah, man, three plays seventy five yards, so you go
- 6:29Speaker 7: ins with a forty four yard touchdown. Now they're up
- 6:31Speaker 7: twenty eight to sixteen. Exposive plays and then Drew Lock.
- 6:34Speaker 7: He threw a pick on the following possession. Man, that's
- 6:37Speaker 7: the one where he got tipped right. The ball was
- 6:40Speaker 7: hitting out of his hand. It floats up in the air.
- 6:44Speaker 7: Fred Warner, I believe no Greenlaw catches the football.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I think that was That was the second pick.
- 6:50Speaker 5: You're talking about the second pick. This was the first
- 6:52Speaker 5: one where he's trying to get to DK Metcalf.
- 6:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Yeah, so either way, I mean both were tough.
- 6:57Speaker 6: Yeah, it was bad.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Man.
- 7:00Speaker 7: He throws the interception and they tried to stay in
- 7:02Speaker 7: the game. Julian Left forces a fumble. Great hustle play man,
- 7:05Speaker 7: I thought Brandon and was going to the house for
- 7:06Speaker 7: another six. He forces the fumble, but again they cannot
- 7:10Speaker 7: take advantage of the whole situation. They punk the ball
- 7:12Speaker 7: and then now Drew Lock throws another interception the one
- 7:15Speaker 7: that I was describing, and that pretty much sealed the game.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Man.
- 7:18Speaker 7: It was twenty eight to sixteen. Third downs were an
- 7:21Speaker 7: issue once again. The Hawks were two four eleven. The
- 7:23Speaker 7: Hawks were outgained about the forty nine ers five twenty
- 7:26Speaker 7: seven to three twenty four, but they did win the
- 7:30Speaker 7: time of possession battle. I think that's kind of tricky though,
- 7:32Speaker 7: because the Niners had so many exposive players, I guess
- 7:35Speaker 7: that they need to possess the ball that much. But hey,
- 7:37Speaker 7: we take the wins wherever we can get them. But yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 7: all about those big plays.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Man, Yeah, if you would have told me turnover two turnovers,
- 7:47Speaker 5: win time, possession, sackbrock party three times, I'm thinking you
- 7:50Speaker 5: have a pretty darn good chance of winning that football game. Unfortunately,
- 7:53Speaker 5: the Seahawks just could not get it done. But there
- 7:56Speaker 5: were some people who made some plays.
- 7:57Speaker 8: Playmakers, playmakers totally totown.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Started the quarterback position for the Seattle Seahawks. This time
- 8:13Speaker 5: we're talking about Drew Lock. Drew Lock went twenty two
- 8:16Speaker 5: of thirty one two and sixty nine yards, two touchdowns,
- 8:19Speaker 5: and two interceptions. This was Locke's first start since the
- 8:23Speaker 5: twenty twenty one season, first start in the Seahawks uniform.
- 8:26Speaker 4: He's played a little bit this year.
- 8:27Speaker 5: He played against He got in the game against New
- 8:30Speaker 5: York on that Monday night game when Gino got tackled
- 8:32Speaker 5: kind of weird out of bounds. He led the Seahawks
- 8:34Speaker 5: on touchdown drive. He got in in the Rams game
- 8:38Speaker 5: when Gino got his elbow hit by Aaron Donald. Did
- 8:40Speaker 5: a couple of decent things also through interception in that game.
- 8:44Speaker 5: This game was kind of a you know, the two
- 8:47Speaker 5: sides of a coin, right, There were some really good
- 8:48Speaker 5: things we saw from Drew Lock. Obviously, you don't want
- 8:50Speaker 5: to see the interceptions. You know, it's not an easy
- 8:54Speaker 5: task to play the San Francisco forty nine ers in
- 8:56Speaker 5: your first start in a couple of years. The best
- 8:58Speaker 5: defense in football without question, or just a team in
- 9:01Speaker 5: general my opinion. So that was hard to see. But
- 9:04Speaker 5: I thought he did okay. Like I said, he led
- 9:06Speaker 5: the team on some drives, he kept them in it.
- 9:08Speaker 5: You know, things could have got real bad when Geno
- 9:10Speaker 5: didn't play, So I got to chip my cap to Drew.
- 9:12Speaker 4: I thought he played well enough to keep the Seahawks
- 9:14Speaker 4: in the game.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Unfortunately, just wasn't able to make the plays that you
- 9:17Speaker 5: know needed you down the stretch for the Seahawks to
- 9:19Speaker 5: go over the next step.
- 9:21Speaker 7: Yeah, you couldn't expect Drew to win this game by himself.
- 9:24Speaker 7: He needed a bunch of things to happen, and they
- 9:26Speaker 7: almost did. Another playmaker, Dk Metcalf. He had two receptions
- 9:29Speaker 7: for fifty two yards in one touchdown He's now just
- 9:32Speaker 7: one touchdown away from passing Joey Gallaway for ninth place
- 9:35Speaker 7: on Seattle's all time total touchdowns list. The only thing
- 9:38Speaker 7: I wish is that he got more targets after those
- 9:41Speaker 7: two receptions. There was a while where he wasn't targeted
- 9:43Speaker 7: until the second half. I believe if you want to
- 9:46Speaker 7: win in these big games, DK needs to be a
- 9:49Speaker 7: bigger part of it. And you know, sometimes you just say, look, niners,
- 9:52Speaker 7: you guys did a good job taking him away. If
- 9:55Speaker 7: you bracket him that you press off the line of scrimmage,
- 9:57Speaker 7: you know you have a quarterback who hasn't played in
- 10:00Speaker 7: a while. So if you cloud the coverage a little
- 10:03Speaker 7: bit and you make it look like those windows are open,
- 10:05Speaker 7: you're gonna deterin from throwing the football to DK. Metcalf
- 10:08Speaker 7: Tyler Locke was consistent though six receptions eighty nine yards
- 10:11Speaker 7: on six targets. He is two receptions away from becoming
- 10:14Speaker 7: the second player in franchise history and the ninety fourth
- 10:17Speaker 7: player in NFL history to read six hundred career receptions.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Man, mister consistent, that's a lot. Man.
- 10:24Speaker 5: When you hear it that way, you go six hundred,
- 10:26Speaker 5: Like obviously, Menego. We know that's a lot of receptions,
- 10:28Speaker 5: but there's a lot of people who've played in the
- 10:31Speaker 5: National Football League month. So when you're gonna be the
- 10:33Speaker 5: second in the history of this franchise, plus in the
- 10:35Speaker 5: NFL history, if you're in a list of under one
- 10:38Speaker 5: hundred people and you guys are the only people in
- 10:40Speaker 5: the world to ever do that, it's a pretty impressive company.
- 10:42Speaker 4: So I expect how to keep balling like he has been.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Then on defense, you know, it's hard to just spot
- 10:48Speaker 5: shadow some of the good things that happen when you
- 10:50Speaker 5: give up five hundred and twenty seven yards of total offense.
- 10:54Speaker 5: But there was some playmakers I want to shine some
- 10:56Speaker 5: light on Julian Love. Seven tackles, five solo, one pass defend,
- 11:00Speaker 5: one interception, one force fumble. He did get beat on
- 11:03Speaker 5: the one play to George Kittle, but I just loved
- 11:05Speaker 5: his I'll use one example. You know, the interception was great,
- 11:09Speaker 5: you make if you're in the right spot, good things
- 11:12Speaker 5: happened to you. But the force fumble, what I love
- 11:14Speaker 5: the most is because that was just a hustle play.
- 11:17Speaker 5: That was a play where you're the game is starting
- 11:20Speaker 5: to get out of hand, Drew had just throwing a
- 11:22Speaker 5: pick on the possession before you're down twelve, you can
- 11:24Speaker 5: easily at that moment pack it up, be like we're
- 11:26Speaker 5: done playing. No, he stays in the play. I think
- 11:29Speaker 5: Mike Jack missed a tackle, he hunts him down, forces
- 11:32Speaker 5: a fumble. So I just love the effort. And if
- 11:34Speaker 5: all eleven guys can play with that effort on every play,
- 11:37Speaker 5: games are going to continue to be close and they're
- 11:38Speaker 5: going to be in him. So shout out to Julian
- 11:40Speaker 5: Love for making plays there. And then Leo Williams probably
- 11:43Speaker 5: at his best game as a Seahawk. I think bump
- 11:46Speaker 5: four tackles, two solo, one sack, one TfL, one pass, defended,
- 11:50Speaker 5: four QB hits, doing things he I think when the
- 11:55Speaker 5: Seahawks traded for him, I was hoping he'd be the
- 11:57Speaker 5: guy that can take this defense to the next level.
- 11:59Speaker 5: And I still think he can be a part of
- 12:00Speaker 5: that equation without question, especially as good as he's playing,
- 12:03Speaker 5: getting more comfortable playing with Draymond Jones and the rest
- 12:05Speaker 5: of the guys up front.
- 12:07Speaker 4: And I feel for Leonard Williams.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Most people don't know Leonard Williams missed his bye week
- 12:11Speaker 5: because he got traded to the Seahawks. He never got
- 12:14Speaker 5: a bye week, so the only days off he's had
- 12:16Speaker 5: consecutively was after Thursday Night football. So happy to see
- 12:20Speaker 5: the big man balling out despite not playing, not getting
- 12:22Speaker 5: his rest time.
- 12:23Speaker 7: If you will, Yo, and let's end the playmakers with
- 12:28Speaker 7: Jay reid Man. Yeah, four tackles, one sack, one TfL
- 12:32Speaker 7: and a quarterback hit. Again, Man, there were some plays
- 12:36Speaker 7: being made out there. There were just bigger plays being
- 12:39Speaker 7: made by the San Francisco forty nine ers.
- 12:41Speaker 6: Let's go to the wide receiver roundup.
- 12:44Speaker 7: Like mentioned, Tyler Lockett had six for eighty nine, no touchdowns,
- 12:47Speaker 7: but was perfect six receptions on six targets and picked
- 12:51Speaker 7: up the only two third down conversions for the Seahawks.
- 12:54Speaker 7: DK had two for fifty two to one touchdown on
- 12:57Speaker 7: five targets, no OFFMP had two for thirty five, a
- 12:59Speaker 7: big play that led to a touchdown, a twenty six
- 13:02Speaker 7: yard game that Kenneth Walker four for thirty three. He
- 13:05Speaker 7: had one of the more electric runs after the catch,
- 13:07Speaker 7: reversing fills on his big twenty seven yard game.
- 13:10Speaker 6: Kobe Parkinson had two for twenty eight. He scored a touchdown.
- 13:14Speaker 7: Jackson Smith and Jigba had four for twenty five, and
- 13:17Speaker 7: Zach Scharbad and Will Dissy both had one catch a piece.
- 13:20Speaker 6: So Drew lock did spread the ball around.
- 13:23Speaker 7: You got the running backs involved, the Titans evolved, and
- 13:26Speaker 7: the wide receivers involved.
- 13:28Speaker 6: He was spreading the love.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I just the only thing I would love to
- 13:32Speaker 5: see here is I would love to see a little
- 13:34Speaker 5: bit more with the tight ends. You know, I think
- 13:36Speaker 5: every time they kind of get involved, I feel like
- 13:38Speaker 5: we're playing better. And it's not one of those things
- 13:40Speaker 5: where I don't need Noa Fan, Will Dissley and Parkinson
- 13:43Speaker 5: to have fifteen twenty receptions.
- 13:45Speaker 4: No, it's not about that.
- 13:46Speaker 5: I just feel like they can get a little bit
- 13:47Speaker 5: more involved in the past game because I think especially
- 13:50Speaker 5: Noah fan Drew Locke, they already had that connection playing
- 13:52Speaker 5: in Denver. So that's the one thing I would hope
- 13:54Speaker 5: to see a little bit more and continue up those
- 13:56Speaker 5: exposive plays because you still had some twenty four to
- 13:59Speaker 5: Lot thirty one, a DK twenty six to no Fan,
- 14:02Speaker 5: twenty seven to ken Walker, twenty five to Kolby, So
- 14:05Speaker 5: there's explosive plays in there. You just hope to continue
- 14:08Speaker 5: seeing that from that side.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Of the ball.
- 14:11Speaker 4: We allutitude earlier.
- 14:12Speaker 5: We were just talking about Colby Parkinson. Drew lock finds
- 14:16Speaker 5: Kobe Parkinson for a twenty five yard touchdown.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Now, this is what we alluded to earlier.
- 14:20Speaker 5: This was a play that Kyle Shanahan and the forty
- 14:24Speaker 5: nine ers ran against the Seahawks.
- 14:26Speaker 4: So let's get to that right here in the film room.
- 14:28Speaker 9: Drew Lock, out of the shotgun play, fake fakes a
- 14:32Speaker 9: throw to the farcie that throws it down the middle
- 14:33Speaker 9: ball as cought, Parkinson.
- 14:35Speaker 10: Down to ten down of the five. He then touchdown
- 14:39Speaker 10: shay Hawks from twenty five out. What a beautiful play
- 14:43Speaker 10: design the Seahawks and Drew Locke fake to throw one side,
- 14:49Speaker 10: then the other that has been used against us this season,
- 14:53Speaker 10: and then the throw in the middle of the field
- 14:54Speaker 10: to a wide open tight end Parkinson, who scores from
- 14:58Speaker 10: twenty five Yawk's back in this one.
- 15:01Speaker 4: It's twenty one sixteen.
- 15:04Speaker 7: So one let me say, if I coach high school
- 15:07Speaker 7: football next year, I'm taking this. I'm definitely using this play.
- 15:11Speaker 7: And what makes it special is so many misdirections. Right,
- 15:15Speaker 7: you start off in a two by one formation with
- 15:18Speaker 7: a tight end at to the right of Drew Lock.
- 15:20Speaker 7: He's attaching line of scrimmage. He got two receivers to
- 15:22Speaker 7: the left of Drew Lock. He pushed Jayson in motion
- 15:27Speaker 7: instead of going all the way across the formation.
- 15:28Speaker 6: Jayson loops back around.
- 15:30Speaker 7: Now the ball is snap and Drew Lock is looking
- 15:33Speaker 7: at Jason to his left, faking the screen there. At
- 15:35Speaker 7: the same time, Ken Walker is leaking out to the right.
- 15:38Speaker 7: He's showing screen as well. He fakes it to Ken Walker.
- 15:41Speaker 7: Now you look at Kobe Parkinson. He's engaged with that
- 15:44Speaker 7: DM one one thousand and two, one thousand and three
- 15:46Speaker 7: with thousands. Then he releases. So the defense he's a
- 15:48Speaker 7: fake to left, a fake to the right, and they
- 15:50Speaker 7: are all reacting to that. Kobe Parkinson slips right up
- 15:54Speaker 7: the middle of the field and Drew Lock has composure.
- 15:57Speaker 7: He finds Kobe, and Kobe the rest is all him.
- 16:00Speaker 7: Makes one guy miss dives into the end zone. But
- 16:03Speaker 7: you took the defense left, you took them right. They expand,
- 16:07Speaker 7: they part like the Red Sea. Kobe Parkinson gets the
- 16:09Speaker 7: football and the rest is all him. The Niners did
- 16:13Speaker 7: this against the Hawks last year on Thursday night football
- 16:16Speaker 7: around the same area had the same result, and we
- 16:19Speaker 7: all looked at each other like that was a great play.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean you tell you as a defender, I
- 16:24Speaker 5: don't know what to tell you, because you're reading your keys,
- 16:27Speaker 5: you're doing your job. Both receivers clear out, so the
- 16:30Speaker 5: quarters corners are occupied. And what I love looking at
- 16:32Speaker 5: this play is look at healthy linebackers are influenced. You
- 16:35Speaker 5: already have the best two linebackers in the game of football,
- 16:38Speaker 5: probably right now, and they're going to honor that. You
- 16:41Speaker 5: go screens and you look at the aggressiveness that they do.
- 16:44Speaker 5: They're deep in the backfield ready to attack this thing.
- 16:47Speaker 5: And if you're playing safety or someone else, when the
- 16:49Speaker 5: tight end stays in their blocks for three seconds, your
- 16:51Speaker 5: eyes come off him. He is no longer in the
- 16:54Speaker 5: route or in the concept at all, and all of
- 16:56Speaker 5: a sudden he leaks over the middle.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Of the field. That's just it's a hell of a
- 16:58Speaker 4: play call.
- 17:00Speaker 5: And I want to see more stuff like that, man, right,
- 17:02Speaker 5: that stuff making you guys think making If you play fast,
- 17:06Speaker 5: like as fast as they play, if you make guys
- 17:08Speaker 5: move and have to think pre snap in motions and
- 17:10Speaker 5: take their second read, I'm gonna play a little slower.
- 17:13Speaker 5: I might not jump this next thing. I might be like,
- 17:15Speaker 5: hold up, am I seeing what I'm okay? You know,
- 17:18Speaker 5: so love to see one of the highlights of what
- 17:21Speaker 5: happened against the forty nine ers, But unfortunately, for the
- 17:25Speaker 5: gosh darn it fourth week in a row, the clock
- 17:28Speaker 5: just ran out.
- 17:32Speaker 9: On me. Taken by huny. They're just gonna left the
- 17:35Speaker 9: clock wind down, but it's not even gonna bother They're
- 17:37Speaker 9: taking that last time out.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Seahawks are a lot more competitive in this rematch with
- 17:42Speaker 5: the forty nine Ers, forced multiple turnovers, made the forty
- 17:45Speaker 5: nine ers punt the ball five times, but gave up
- 17:48Speaker 5: too many big plays in too many quick scores bump
- 17:51Speaker 5: we talked about earlier.
- 17:52Speaker 4: The forty nine ers.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Longest scoring drive was seven plays and they racked up
- 17:56Speaker 5: five hundred and twenty four yards of total offense.
- 17:58Speaker 4: That's it's gonna be hard to win that way.
- 18:00Speaker 6: Yeah, it's gonna be tough, man.
- 18:01Speaker 7: But on the positive side, Drew Lock had a decent day, man,
- 18:05Speaker 7: but he did have two turnovers, but other than that,
- 18:08Speaker 7: I thought he was okay.
- 18:09Speaker 6: The Hawks were also two four eleven on third downs.
- 18:11Speaker 7: You're not gonna win at many games with that stat
- 18:14Speaker 7: and they just can't put all together. When they needed
- 18:16Speaker 7: to stop on stop on defense, they couldn't get it.
- 18:18Speaker 7: When they needed to move the ball, they couldn't do it.
- 18:21Speaker 7: It was like when one side of the ball did
- 18:23Speaker 7: their theme, the other side couldn't seal the deal.
- 18:25Speaker 6: And they kept taking turns with that.
- 18:28Speaker 5: Yeah, it's hard, man, it's I mean, let's be real.
- 18:31Speaker 5: The Seahawks backs are against the wall. And I've said
- 18:33Speaker 5: this before. When Pete Carroll coach, teams are in this situation,
- 18:37Speaker 5: they respond, you know, they and you you could say
- 18:40Speaker 5: this team has responded the last two weeks. What we
- 18:42Speaker 5: saw on Thanksgiving wasn't the Seahawks best performance, right, but
- 18:45Speaker 5: they've looked different the last two weeks. Unfortunately, you weren't
- 18:48Speaker 5: able to get it done. But you're also playing two
- 18:49Speaker 5: best teams in the NFL. So it's hard. But there's
- 18:54Speaker 5: always hope if you'll give for optimism. Seahawk fans, me
- 18:56Speaker 5: and Bomb gotcha, the Seahawks can win out. The player
- 19:00Speaker 5: are still in front of them. I know the Eagles
- 19:02Speaker 5: are coming to town. The Eagles are limping in a
- 19:04Speaker 5: little bit. They've lost two in a row. Maybe not
- 19:06Speaker 5: thinking that the you know, indestructible team that went to
- 19:10Speaker 5: the Super Bowl last year coming into Looming Field next
- 19:12Speaker 5: Monday night. So I'm optimistic, Bump, I'm optimistic. I feel
- 19:17Speaker 5: like the only way to be man, the only way
- 19:19Speaker 5: to live. Why live in doubts?
- 19:21Speaker 7: Why why live with a with a with a black
- 19:23Speaker 7: cloud over your head?
- 19:25Speaker 5: No, you're right though, because they I truly believe the
- 19:28Speaker 5: Seahawks can get it done. Me and Bump will be
- 19:30Speaker 5: back with you later this week breaking down everything about
- 19:32Speaker 5: the Eagles matchup and tell you more specifically why we
- 19:35Speaker 5: think the Seahawks can get this done and what that
- 19:37Speaker 5: would do for this season and the run of teams.
- 19:39Speaker 5: The Seahawks get out of this scontlent, maybe the season
- 19:41Speaker 5: can change.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Remember if you're.
- 19:43Speaker 5: Listening on Apple Podcast, to give us a five star rating.
