- 0:26[SPEAKER_03]: a 40-70 season and a season of life in the other in the age of the baseball history from one of the Koenia Junior.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_03]: There's a drive right on the Man of Heaven, the Man of Heaven, the Man of Heaven, a season he is having.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_03]: He hits this one hard, he hits the Man of Heaven, like Trump has ripped him on him.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_03]: What's up, guys?
- 0:51[SPEAKER_03]: Mike Traut, and he lists in the sports car C.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.E.EE.E.E.E.EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
- 0:59[SPEAKER_02]: Here's the copy has ticked in.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna pull up back a tweaking over here.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, I'm tweaking, but it's gonna be a fun episode.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: I look forward to this every week.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_02]: You get to see your pretty face on the other side of the screen here and get rolling here.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: So we've got a fun episode in top today.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: Well, friends, thank you guys for listening so much.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: We really appreciate this and kind of the sports card CEO community.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: Again, thanks to our team at just baseball.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: We are the official collectables podcast of just baseball and we got a lot of exciting things in store for this community.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: We're really working hard.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a lot more focused energy toward the podcast toward our social media.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: And we really just want to be a resource, continue to be a resource for you guys.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to dive into that a little bit later.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: But Bubba in Classic Fashion, I'm going to let you lead off today in kind of the CEO round table to catch up and then we'll dive into the episode.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: All right, baseball is back in the Wilson household.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's been back, honestly, here since probably December.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: But we are hit high gear here, our first tournament is this weekend on Travel Wall.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: And we are grinding over here, literally every afternoon, we're hitting over at the pit
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: I know, by the way, a couple of you have reached out that want to see to hit loud.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm probably going to post something on this workshop or CEO page coming up to show a little preview of that.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: We've got a turf field going in behind it and some other stuff and all that gets done.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to do a post on that.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: Just kind of share kind of what we have there and what we're doing.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, that's the main thing in my life right now.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's kids are obviously grinding through the end of school year.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing that.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: We've got baseball every single night.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: And then honestly, you know, one thing I've really tried to take advantage of in the last couple weeks is eBay saved searches, you know, where I've gone through all my names, I've updated my names, I'm checking those morning and night and I'm buying a lot, I've been buying a lot, but also as we've been talking about it's time to bring the register some as we get closer to the season.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: And so that's really been my life.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm focusing on the health thing as I told you before the episode, I mean that's a core focus of mine right now is getting myself physically right this year and then mentally right with God and man, just really had a great week, feeling better with sick for two or three weeks, it's kind of nasty, flu-covid crap, and just kind of hung on, but I'm getting back in the sauna again, getting right with the lords, so feeling good, man, I'm feeling good.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: Your energy is amazing, Bubba.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: Your energy is amazing.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: I gotta say, I do.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: I love this version of Bubba.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: I love this version of Bubba.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: We all need this version of Bubba.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: But man, it has been a wild, wild week at Ham House.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I have a story that I want to share before that, the personal side of things.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: I told you before the episode, life is so busy right now.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: And the noise is so loud.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like in the atmosphere in the world around us, it's just really loud and noisy.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of stuff going on.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: But I'll tell you this, when I was watching the Team USA and the gold medal game against Canada on the hockey side of things and I'm not a huge hockey fan, I was just watching the overtime.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: When when USA scored and when they won and like free birds playing in the background, there was a moment for me where it was this idea and we're going to talk more about this today redemption, right?
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, it was 46 years since the 1980 gold medal game.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I felt something
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, like there's redemption, there's hope, like, and I felt that for my wife, you know, the mean and I felt it for like the people, I felt this kind of sense of joy and a certainly a spiritual connection with the Lord in that moment.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, man, this is something's going on here.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then as things would have it, this story happened to Hamhouse this weekend.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: So for many of you know, I've shared it here.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: When we first started, little Matt and I first started our car journey, we had a local friend who brought a flea Michael Jordan and a star Michael Jordan rookie card to our house.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: Now this is when we were infants in the game.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: So these were like massive cards for us.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: And both of them were raw as this gentleman had had them since he was a kid.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I was literally like shaking as I was cutting the star card out of the team bag, which everybody in the hobby now calls me an idiot for doing.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: But the guy wanted to grade them.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so we prepping for grading and all this kind of stuff and then our friends said, hey man, I just don't want to pay the fees.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm nervous about this.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you just buy these cards from me.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, well, of course, I will.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: But like, it's a big risk for us.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: And anyway, we bought those cards.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: It was a massive, you know, to mean risk for us.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: we ended up selling both of those cards for like 13, excuse me, $15, $16,000.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, my friend was happy, he got paid, we made some money and it catapulted him how sports.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, fast forward, hamhouse sports takes off, we have plenty of resources and all the sudden I'm like, those are the two coolest cards we've ever had and now they're gone, you know?
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: And we went back to the guy that we sold both of those cards to and he still had the fleer,
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: although he had sold the star.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: And so he sold us back the flier rookie that we sold him.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: So we have the original 1986 flier rookie that came in the Hamhouse Sports, but the star was kind of long lost.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: And the star had graded a six and a half.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: So it was an $80,000 card now.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: But we're at a local card show a couple years ago and a guy walks up to our table, right?
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: And he says, hey,
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: Do you like this card?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, Oh, let me play that again.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, Hey, do you like this card?
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: And he breaks out this 1984 star Michael Jordan.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: And for our people are watching on YouTube, you can actually see the star right on the screen right now.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, Oh, my gosh, like I love it.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like what do you want for, he said, Well, I'm not really ready to sell it right now.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: And so I engaged in a process of getting to know this guy, local guy, had it since he was a kid for two years and to all of a sudden on Saturday, Bubba.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: This guy says, hey, I think I'm ready to sell the card.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh my gosh.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: So this weekend, Little Matt and Abault, the 1984 Star Raw that completes the kind of redemption story of getting both of those cards back in.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: I shifted off to PSA yesterday, so fingers crossed,
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: PSA 10.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're hoping for a good.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, it won't be a 10, but we're hoping for a good a favor there.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, I wanted to share that story because I think for our listeners like having personal stories within the hobby is what makes the hobby fun is what makes it enjoyable.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: And so that story along with what's going on is kind of a good theme for today.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: But before we move into the episode, go ahead, Baba.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: I want to hit on.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know you were going to bring up the USA hockey thing, but I'm glad you did.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to bring politics ever in our shows.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think there's a place for that on our podcast.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: We're not a political podcast, but I will tell you this.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: It was so refreshing to see the pride he had for our country.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, it was, I mean, it really was the way he talked about him.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: So proud to be on the USA team we had and just the way that they jailed man.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: Just how locked in those guys were for their country, you know, and so just felt really good And I just hope that the country and general we can get to that point.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever side of the ledger you're on Like let's all just hope for the best for our country, you know, and that's I hope we can all I go that and I hope for that for our kids You know, but just some cool to see that when somebody steps up and just loves their country
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: What he kept talking about, too, was the brotherhood, the brotherhood, the brotherhood, the unity.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: These guys play on different teams.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: They're playing against each other.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they come together for the common goal.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's so much in that that kind of relates to the hobby and just the energy that can be around it when we're doing it for the right purposes and we're helping lift others up and educate and all the stuff that we have a heart for.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think that speaks to who we are.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: So that being said, before we dive into the episode though, we want to make a
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just our buddy, our friend, co-host, Mr. Eric Maynnell Kern is expected to be back next week on the show.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: He's feeling good, he sounds good, he looks good, and he's missed the show, and he's missed you guys, but we missed him, you know, right before baseball season, we're getting back hopefully next week on the show, also expecting our on to come back.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_02]: So just want to get a little update on that.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_02]: We know we've gotten a lot of mail, a lot of calls, a lot of questions about
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: about Kern and we're excited to have a bat and we've missed you buddy.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's been watching the show.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's been keeping track of the show.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: We've been talking about the show and so we've got that kind of update coming.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: We've got a lot of exciting stuff coming up, you know, ahead of baseball season, through the season, some stuff to share.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm all kind of let you do that here in the minutes to come, but I just wanted to give that update to have Kern back and we're excited about that.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely it'll be good man.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: Good to have him back in the saddle and dive them back in.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate everybody who's shown that support So before we jump in today's content.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to remind everybody of this little nifty thing We did a little while ago and that is the pod CEOs.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's our it's our 800 number basically 888 pod CEOs 888 POD C E O S you guys can call in and leave us your voice messages We had that role in for a while and quite frankly over the high
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: holidays.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: It just kind of got forgotten about honestly, but it's a huge asset for us.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: 88 pod CEOs, I put it on the screen there for those who are watching us on YouTube, but do leave us your voice messages.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: People a lot of times, Bubba, we've had more messages in the past month from people reaching out to us and we so deeply appreciate that, right?
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: a little bit overwhelming at times because there's a lot of people to get back to, but we want to encourage our listeners to continue to do that, to build community.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I had to reach out the other day and he's like, hey man, I'm a police officer and I'm trying to get a little bit of supplemental income because you know, my wife and I want to have another kid and I see what you guys are doing in the hobby.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm listening to the podcast, I just want to say, and I'm like,
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: Are you serious right now like I mean this is over and over and over and over again these stories of these people who were leveraging their love of sports and leveraging this hobby for good things for their family and so that's why we do this and continue to do this so speaking of the the number here.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: and kicking us into our episode.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: If y'all will remember a few months ago, we had actually thrown it out there to have an impression contest, right?
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: We were talking about doing impressions on the show and we had a listener named Adam and he ended up dropping a great impression.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: And so you guys, this is about a two minute clip, but I want you to listen to this because it's hilarious and then we're gonna talk about something special for Adam, but check this out boys and girls.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_04]: Be as above, I, I might have gotten, you know, you, listen, as you might have remembered, I got into a little, got a little heated about PSA and for good reason, okay, turns.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_04]: Did anybody ask for me on that?
- 11:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you were a little heated.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_04]: Just a little bit heated like I get about the mix and how many prospects fail for them.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_04]: All right, current, that's enough, buddy.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_04]: I got heated.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm sorry, the people I offended, but what I said I'm meant and one of our great listeners is Dana White, you might have heard of him, you had the UFC.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_04]: So I wanted to challenge DSA in the ring this Saturday Madison Square Garden, me, Bubba versus PSA.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_04]: Now, turns what he think.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_04]: He's a sports car CEO.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_04]: Press will be good for this.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_04]: I'm a little hated man.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if it's a good idea.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think we want to burn any bridges.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_04]: We need to build relationships.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_04]: The microscope is on probe steam right now.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_04]: And I think we should leave it that way.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_04]: And we just bought the counter grip.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_04]: And we got a lot of good press going, Baba.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_04]: Don't blow it for us.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_04]: Don't blow this for us, Baba.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sick of PSA and I'm tired of it.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_04]: Dana, setting up, me versus PSA, and after I kick PSA's ass and put them under the turf, the turf that I owned and planted.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_04]: I want Holyfield.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_04]: I want Holyfield.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: That is fantastic.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: So we have to give a shout out to Adam because Adam had sent a couple of these voice texts over and quite honestly man over the holidays and the transition.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: They kind of got lost in the shuffle.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: But we so appreciate Adam doing this.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: Adam is a listener and he loves comedy and stuff and this stuff was funny man.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: So we wanted to give a shout out to Adam and in kind of a special thing, but I'll let you share that.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, we, um, we owed him, you know, because we had this competition, you know, we dropped the ball and, um, so it's not the Adam privately and, uh, I have a Edward Eduardo Quintero true blue autograph going out to him.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and Adam we just appreciate you as a listener number one.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: I thought you a lot about cards a big tiger's fan, big mechanical guy Um, and love to have you as a listener, but you're hilarious too.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: So just having him do that.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: You know, just wanted to just, you know, really give recognition to that A person for much so yeah, it was it was funny to I love what he said is like, I'm a very amount of the turf that I planted
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: You nailed it.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: It was there.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's above us.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: Today, you know, we're talking about these kind of stories and we've got some great stories of redemption that we're going to focus on today for Major League Baseball and kind of life in general.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll let you lead this off because you had brought this up about Zach Thene.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll let you tell the story here.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: But that's going to launch us into today's episode.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so just some redemption in general, I just feel like y'all may have seen on the my Instagram the last two or three days, it's started to post
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: sleep for alerts and I'm planning on doing that pretty much all the way to opening day I actually gonna start trying to link that in the sports car CGO as well for a new y'all that don't follow me But follow the show, but it just reminds me when you think about redemption of whatever spring training is for a lot of these guys I mean these guys, some of these guys, I mean you look at a guy like you know become kind of a guy I know a big brace fan grant homes.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: You look at that redemption story.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: I got it was a first round pick
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: didn't get an opportunity didn't get an opportunity didn't get an opportunity never gave up and they show up every spring train with the hopes of a dream they probably had since they were five years old coming true and it's just really cool to think of whatever spring training brings to these guys a chance of redemption and a story came up and most of the people aren't talking online.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: about this side of the story.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: So I wanted to share this about Zach Bean.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's actually guys, Zach Bean, that I've owned some guards, I've sold some guards, I still have a little bit of, but it's just a really cool personal story of redemption.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I was reading it the other day.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: Zach Bean, the story has been, man, Zach Bean's come back home.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he was 200, 200, 200 pounds last season, you know, and he's come back this off season.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think they said he's
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's 240 sick to these jack.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he looks like I mean, he is jack.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's like a middle line backer at the NFL.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: But the story came back about that mean and him after lots of struggled.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: He got a chance at the major league level.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: A little bit struggled.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: They promoted him in the minors.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_02]: It had a point where he even stepped away from baseball a little bit last year.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: had a major substance abuse problem.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he was drinking.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: He said every single night, he wasn't drinking.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: He was smoking marijuana every single day.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_02]: Doing anything, he could get the meals for alcohol and marijuana.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: And he's after the season.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: And he looked in the mirror one day and he's like, you know, I had to make a change.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: God entered his heart and has really cool story of redemption to where he went.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: He got baptized, found God, and he just after that said, you know, I have to have to do this for my career.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: This is what he wanted to do, baseball was a dream and so I said, I'm going to get my body right and he went to work.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he went to work on himself and his body and 246 pounds.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: And yesterday in the spring training game,
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: I walked it off, a 468th of a home run, I mean, a faraway center field.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, walk off yesterday.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_02]: And so just a really cool story.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: Again, a guy who was had it all, you know, the world was his oyster type deal coming out of high school.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: highly talented prospect that's just kind of falling off, you know, which a lot of these guys sometimes happen and they hear the noise about man, you know, on their Instagram, man, you suck Jack, we've wasted this pick on you and it gives to these guys, you know, it gets to him and he kind of succumb he can succumb to that and to see somebody come back, whether there's that being ends up this season being great or not.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_02]: just really cool to see that redemption story and, I mean, honestly, the physical transformation.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: The dude looks like Bryson Dachambo.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a couple years ago when he showed up to the matchers, like two, six and a half.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: So it's just a really cool story and spring training brings that in general.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's something I love, I love research, as y'all know, I love researching prospects, I kind of I love spring training, I check every single box store, I check every single thing I can check, exit the lows and Zach Bean's interesting.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: I posted a day about a manual Rodriguez.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: Very interesting as well, two bombs two days and so a lot of redemption stories and so for you guys that have been kind of hitting me up about, you know, what should I be buying?
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: What should I be looking at?
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: You can go buy some of these guys.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking like low-risk buys.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: You can probably pick up exact being for 99 like 15 bucks Let's say Zack being does breakout at you want to talk about tomorrow.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, there's tomorrow.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you want to talk about a manual Rodriguez for 99 I don't know exactly what they all taught my head, but they're probably 50 to 75 bucks for PSA 9 Those are the type to get get go mercy brought him up the other day.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's a guy right there in himself
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: He probably $15, $20 for a 499.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to keep mentioning those names we go forward on our socials and my socials as well.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm linking that through together, but just for redemption and ham, I know you wanted to talk about it as well, but just felt like for our listeners talking about redemption today, just a really cool topic.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, a quick little compiler here, a manual Rodriguez refractor to $4.99.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the last few sales that I see here are raw or a PSA, you know, six, you know, PSA nine.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: They were doing 45, 35, you know, then one did 60, you know, leading into the end of last year, 40, 60, or whatever, one just sold fixed price by it now at 90 bucks.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: after the last comp be in 60.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're going from 60 to $90, that's a 50% ROI on a single card of a player, literally within a month.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: And that's all happened because of spring training, right?
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, well, the last sale is February 16th.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe that was right before
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so then you see, you know, so now everybody's going, ooh, I've got a rod of regas.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna hold it.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna throw it out there a little bit, you know, see what he does.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: I guarantee that card would go for $100.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't be surprised if one didn't go for $100 soon.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, you look at Emerod as a guy whose battle through injury, Zach Vene, you know, it's funny, our buddy who was a scout.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: He gave a Zach Vene's name a couple of years ago when we first started us at, hey, who are the top five hitters that are coming up
- 20:58[SPEAKER_01]: And he, he, Zach Vene was one of the names that he gave us.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: Zach Vene was in 21 Bowman, so he's a little bit older.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: But like I said, I love those kind of stories.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: And it reminds me of another guy that's being slept on a little bit right now.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: And again, whether or not he bounces back, I just love the story.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: And that's Xavier Isaac.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you saw this.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: But Xavier Isaac had massive mega power coming out of high school, big left-handed first basement, had a pretty successful first year in the minor leagues.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: the rays and then started the struggle.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he went into the doctor or whatever and found out he had a brain tumor.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: in last year had surgery on a brain tumor and literally kind of saved his life and his faith became more prevalent for him.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I know he's kind of built through the process of recovery there.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know exactly where he is in all of that, but like that's a guy who has a second lease on life.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think we talked about it with Arama a couple weeks ago and brought his name up.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's a guy who's kind of completely gotten slept on but has a big bat.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: and if he comes back with a little bit of pop, you know, you love to see those redemption stories and it ultimately reminds me of like probably one of the greatest MLB redemption stories that that I knew in my lifetime and that's Josh Hamilton.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you remember Josh Hamilton but yeah, so Hamilton's a North Carolina guy.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Actually Josh Hamilton has hit a home run off of me still to this day.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: The furthest home run I've ever given up was to Josh Hamilton We were 15 years old.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: He was standing all over the plate and I was like screw this guy I don't care who how big of a prospect he is.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not throw a fastball under his hands And he showed me why he was a top prospect and I was not any The dead center field that just like never left anyway I didn't even look at the ball.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: I just held my glove up and there's a gift me another one really
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: But Hamilton had this massive, I mean, I think he was the number one pick and then, you know, had his troubles, but when Hamilton came back.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: and had that home run derby.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was at Yankee Stadium.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: He had 28 bombs.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: That performance shows the kind of athlete that he was.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: And then, of course, won the MVP.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he, you know, had some additional struggles.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: But I love these stories, man.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: I love these stories of redemption.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: And it just, if I had so much inspiration for life, it provides inspiration for business.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: And so just kind of be in that motivational speaker part of me today.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to grab people and say, hey, man,
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, no matter where you are, like, don't quit, don't give up on it, like get your mind right and look at all of these examples of people who have overcome great things to go do great things and I just want to encourage our listeners to that and use the hobby to leverage that kind of influence and inspiration.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I did want to mention one other guy that I mentioned earlier this week is I'm not going to give away my other sleeper alert to come, but I mentioned Brady House, okay, and funny enough, Brady House.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_02]: practices are a played on the same field, my 12 year olds on practices on every week with this team.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: and Brady House was a the 11th overall pick in 2021 by the Washington National.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: Brady House was very similar coming up to like a young Bryce Harper.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: He played on the international team as a kid growing up, U.S.A. teams and a dude was afraid.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, massive power, I mean, a prodigy.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I've noticed that and I just, I think it's, I think it's interesting to share this.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: I've been there too in the card industry.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_02]: We get frustrated.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_02]: We see a guy not performing.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: He's not doing what his expectations are.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: And then we just say, you know what, he's dead to me.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gone.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_02]: He thought I'm done.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: And we talk about redemption.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: And his dad had said that about a year ago.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_02]: He said, man, he's got your kids.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_02]: He said, and they hear the noise.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: And these the scouts give up on them.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: These baseball America's all these shows They're talking down.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: They're getting the Instagram messages and you see these guys come out and Brady last year got his first cup of coffee 261 at bats had a really pretty good year in the minor power wise came up just showed no power in the post I mean, which is crazy because he's got giant foul 234 average played third base and moved him to third from short
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: four homers 29 RBIs, right?
- 25:06[SPEAKER_02]: Not horrible, but not a guy you want to go and bet this on the money in when he's batting 234 is first cup of coffee.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: He's come out in the spring the other day first first game two bombs boom, but there's the power back, right?
- 25:19[SPEAKER_02]: And so I just think this whole story of like and I wanted to share that because it's been on the same on the top of my mind the last 30 days like who's next?
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: We talk about McDonald, we've been building them guys up since last summer.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know, that window time of getting those guys cheap is gone.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: The Connor Griffin window of getting them cheap is gone.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: Getting the window of getting Jesuit weather-hole cheap is gone.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: Not that you can't make money there anymore, but the window of getting them cheap.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's gone.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, and so thinking that you're going to go walk in there and find the steel video on those cards.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody knows who they are.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody knows the potential now.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody knows what that is.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: And when those guys have big news, a call up, a home run, a spring training home run, or performance, there's stuff going to fly.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's who is next.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: That has been the big question and I think that's where spring training right now you get that opportunity to see some of these cheap who's that's got checking the bot scores and I'm seeing that in the market right now I think with spring training starting a little earlier this year than normal WBC coming up I see the market right now kind of in the last week to week and a half.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: Almost has this kind of like April first feel to it instead of Mark's first feel.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think people are kind of doing that right now.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: Where do we put our money?
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: Where do we go next?
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the opportunity, and I've been breaking down my list.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: And we're next week, probably going to tease this out, the top 20, 25 players we think.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: who are next.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: But outside of those guys, it's going to be those sleepers and those people to look at.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: I've never been so excited about a spring training.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: Just have a baseball on.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the whole country on the eastern seaboard is getting blitzed.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, even Wilmington, you guys near a beach getting blitzed with snow, Georgia, snow, wind, coal, current and up there.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_02]: They got 30 inches of snow.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's in New York.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_02]: So when you see baseball on right now, send my parents out to the 9th off Sunday night, and you see these guys in Arizona and Florida and get the game is on.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, it gets me jacked.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like jack for light.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: So it gets the blessing.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: through the veins.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, it's interesting too.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like I want to talk a little bit about what you said, you know, this idea of seeing these stories and these guys with these comeback stories and stuff is super encouraging.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: And again, we're always talking about prospects and stuff, but you're talking about like MLB guys, like who had the debut and who are coming back, and you look at this like, there's a sophomore slump, right?
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: People that come out in the second season, they struggle, but then there's the guys that have like the sophomore rebound.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I look at Gunner Henderson, what Gunner Henderson did in his, you know, after he got the debut late had a nice little pop and then, you know, came back, struggled the first part of that year and then ramped up, you know, and had that first half of that season where it's like he was going to be the MVP.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: And so you've got guys like this who could come out and have just massive hot starts and you can do really well there.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: So that's something to definitely keep in mind for our listeners.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: You don't always have to buy a prospect.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you can buy a little bit of a deep sleep or guy who you feel like has that kind of upside potential to kind of get in the spotlight a little bit I think of a guy from a couple years ago like Chandler Simpson and Chandler Simpson is kind of like the epitome of a non hobby guy.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's got.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: no power, but like duty's beaten out in filled singles, and people started talking about him, and you turn around and watch his card values just like, you know, pop off a little bit.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: So keep your eye on these types of opportunities, and it gives us something to kind of chase.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to talk a little bit about the market right now, Bubba, as we kind of close out the show here.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like you said, it's been a bit of a consolidation a little bit.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a little bit of a, I want to say it's softening per se, but I think what happens is when baseball starts,
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: and people kind of come to the table, they go, oh my gosh, there's a lot of players here.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of opportunities here.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: So the capital kind of gets diffused across the market and you see people and stuff falls through the cracks.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: So you'll see a couple of auctions go low and you'll see some things kind of like happen.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think it's necessary as shift in the market.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's actually the buyers kind of deciding where they want to put their capital and kind of assessing everything through spring training.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I assessed the market daily, right?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: We have says where we thought the market was going to go on the show, you know, a month ago when Nick was on the show, right?
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's going to be really interesting to see the next 30 days.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for me, the last 10 days, I have felt it's felt weird.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't really feel weird in what we heard about it.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of into your point.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: Some cars are going high.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: All the sudden, it's a weird car will go high.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then a car will go low.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: it's just a really interesting time right now.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think there was a little bit of the teag from football, you know, a super ball that ended and some of them got a teag for people there and now there's just kind of like, where am I going to put the money, right?
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: I will say this, I think on eBay right now, if you're selling carbs, we've talked about this before, but it's an interesting time right now to try this tactic.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: When you see there's low inventory of a player, the good way right now to probably get the most bang for your buck.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: is taking put a guy about 110% of the last column, 115 of the last column.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: Because even I find myself right now, if I really feel convicted on a guy, I will pull the trigger at 1-10, 1-15.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: And there's some names that I'll mention as sleepers coming up, that I'm doing that on right now.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: Guys that I just feel like they're sitting there, there's an opportunity for them to rise, there's no availability to speak of, and because what happens when you bet, and this is where a market gets tough.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: when there's no options, nobody's auctioning them, and they're all buying now, and everybody's 10, 15, 20, 30% of our comp.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's generally where the cops go, start going up because there's no available.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: And so what's happened on some of these guys, Connor specifically, there's been a lot of the inventory hit the market.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: And so when inventory hits the market, it makes it a little less special to people in that moment.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's going to start taking,
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to take some special attention.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to take Connor.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: Did you see the interview the other day with Brice Archer on?
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Matthew little Matt told me about it.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't watch it, but little Matt said, did you at Brice Archer said about Connor Griffin?
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, it's happening now.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: Paul Scheme, Brice Archer, everybody.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know, obviously, trout talked about drift in like,
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: everybody knows the potential there, right?
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: Even the major league players that are playing against this guy, for sure.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: But it's going to take, it's going to take that whole month.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to take that big hit.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to take that positive news.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, most people realize now that he's probably not going to come out and start with the big league squad.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's just what the pirate plan is because they would be dumb to start him opening day, considering that after they come a year earlier,
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: For his lead time.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_02]: I just think again, a lot of this stuff going to be news related from here.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: Spring training hype, you're seeing guys getting the buzz.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, look at Judge come out the first to that bomb bomb.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: His orange is going nuclear right now and golden top 100.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: Pete, you're going to see that.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to see performances start to enter in.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's just human nature.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: And so I do think
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: that you're going to see this, you know, I don't know if the pop is going to be as mediocre as maybe we thought it was going to be.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's going to go back to what it was a little bit last year that we saw the whole season.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: If a guy is performing or a guy is getting the news in the headline, his stuff is going to flop.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: When I say flop, I'm not talking about 10%, I'm talking 30, 40, 50% swings on good news.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where the hobby I think is come with
- 33:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's catching that wind where I think you got to play the game is who is going to catch that wind right that's the game to be played not try to catch that wind on the backside you got to be ahead of the next wind and so that's you know that's what I think we're going to be talking about here next week as well is where's the wind going to be on some of these guys when did their back pushing these guys forward for twenty twenty seven you know and that's
- 33:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we got so much feedback on our last episode with Brent Wyer, the value investor.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: And thanks to everybody who listened to that episode, share that episode or whatever, but dude, it proves that the hobby is getting smarter, that people are getting more refined, that people are bringing an investment strategy to the table with this type of asset and they're getting sharper.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: They're not doing as much emotional buying.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's more strategy buying.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: And so in that space, you have a bit of a refined market.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what we're seeing right now is the market's getting a little bit sharper is getting a little bit more fine, which means you have to elevate your game, you know, and you always have to learn how to adapt.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: And when you have that kind of.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: you know idea you start to see okay these these cards that are truly low population rare cards we talk about the parallels and kind of the ratios and stuff on the last episode I think it matters one of the things I will say though Baba we stop by our local card shop port city collectibles on ripnight of the other night for top trip night whatever was Saturday night
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: and dude, I'm talking crazy in there.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: Crazy in there, wall to wall, kids, parents.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: I sat across from a kid at a table and his mom was like, hey, what are we paying on this case hit?
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, this, you know, this gym, this mom was on it.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: And she didn't embrace the hobby with her son and you know they had all their stuff out and they were trading and they were making stuff happen the shop was given stuff away and so there there is an energy around the hobby right now that is this dynamic and I think people need to understand that it's just that the market on the higher end stuff is getting a little bit more refined and I think we just have to be aware of that like you said next week's episode will focus a little bit on kind of diving deep and get to mostly what.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly it makes me stupid as we sit here.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's it's my passion.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: So I get some stupid in one way because but I just love prospecting in a love moment, but honestly
- 35:29[SPEAKER_02]: what the reality is is the best and the best, the smartest of the smartest, come to the prospecting game now.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: They all realize where what the opportunity or why can be, you're right on a prospect, what it can be, but the skill set is elevated.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it is drastically elevated from where I entered this space two or three years ago and two knows everybody out there because it makes it
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: But it is challenging.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: It is a challenging game right now out there in this base and honestly the ROI probably is drastically higher.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_02]: And if we went over and started playing topscrown, or we went over here, started playing some of these other products that, and no offense to anybody that does that, but I don't think that the playing field is quite a top.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: And so moving some of these lower-end kind of cards that I don't really play in, and you don't really play in day-to-day, but it's probably also not a bad place to be right now, because the Bowman space is tough.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it is like,
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: It is like we're on Wall Street and everybody's sitting there on Wall Street.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_02]: They got their Wall Street Journal out and they are scanning and they are smart.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I just will say that again, I think, as a the buyer right now.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_02]: There are opportunities to be had.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_02]: You need to open your eyes beyond what you're looking at.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: And so we talked about it last week with Brett.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_02]: And little Matt honestly is who could have this in anybody in the bit.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_02]: And he's honestly made me better about it.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: is you might be looking for an orange, okay?
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: Don't just look at the orange.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: Last time, you need to see, you might be wanting to buy the orange, but then you need to look at the gold, you need to look at the blues, you need to look at the 499s because the opportunity, and I'm going to give you a guy right now, Churio, Chatsin, Churio,
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: and they're underpriced compared to everything it just it's look at Roman Anthony's 499's underpriced some of these colors for 99 to blue the ratios just don't make sense yeah and eventually the market if the player is performing it's going to catch up is round so and that's it that's something again that I've never played a lot of because you know I've been hyper-focus
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: on the orange and the red game.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_02]: But I think I'm starting to understand as well and I'm giving away again, I'm an idiot.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_02]: I come on this show and then people are like, I mean, I don't know, whatever, I'm an idiot.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm giving you all like a real, like a tip I need to be using for myself.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_02]: But the red and the orange game is getting so hyper competitive, the super-practor game.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it is like that, the premium there on those cards now is real.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: Because if you have an orange or red or super, you have something.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: When you get down sometimes to, and I'm going to say, Bluech, for I need not even yellows now.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: There's value, there's value in some of these other type cards.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody asked the question yesterday about Sapphire.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: When a true orange is selling for eight grand of a player, and a Sapphire is going for 1500, that's an opportunity.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: And so that is just another way to play this game.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_02]: But then I think we all should open our eyes in the ears too and I think if you do it that way and you scan all the color variations you will generally find there's an opportunity.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_02]: Some players there's not and I do want to say that because I've looked at I'm I'm looking almost every player.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_02]: and some guys are just not an opportunity.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_02]: They're just, they're perfect.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like the way their valuations are, but there are a lot of opportunities out there.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the thing you have to remember about like a Cheerios, he's like a Bessayo, is neither one of them have blues.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: So you bought from a Fractor to Gold on True Color, you know?
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: And when you have a guy like that with a limited population because he literally did not have that parallel in the product, you take his population now and you're,
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: drastically reducing it by, you know, at least 150 copies of available cards that have serial numbers on them.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_01]: And so you start to see and understand value there.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: So just a little tidbits for folks to remember.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: But again, go ahead, Baba.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: Well, as you'll say, one other thing on that same note, when a car goes nuclear, you saw Roman Anthony's read the other day, and what it does, it sets the tone for every other card on his collection.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: When you get a Luis Pena orange, which...
- 39:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna give me started on that sale.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_02]: I would ridiculous sale.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: How high that $0.6300 went.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's set over to the tone for everything else that we're spending.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: You look at every other option that's gone around now and cards are getting sold.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's reset his market.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_02]: And you're gonna see that on these gaps.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna see that as the season starts here as big keep your eyes open for these big sales because when they happen, it hits every other card.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, that's something that I think we gotta keep the back of our month.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: Well, a few little nuggets for our listeners today.

- 42:06[SPEAKER_02]: And we've seen a little bit of that on the show we've had a phenomenal first year to all the naysayers bring it because we're going to keep doing what we do.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to have fun with this.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to keep providing hopefully insight and sometimes to our own detriment and our own card businesses, but I love that stuff.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: I love being here every Wednesday.

- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: Every morning, I wake up and this is my routine.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: I wake up and drink my coffee and I scan for a
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: opportunities every evening.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_02]: And that's that's do it.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: I've made this like rule that I got pretty bad and I this is like my last step of the day for devices in general.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: I got pretty bad there for a while where I've find myself a what card just came up.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I got to get to it.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we could do it any time of the day.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_02]: We were just eating my time up with family and other things I didn't need.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: It became a distraction and now I've done with the safe search.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a morning routine.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_02]: Now, how am I nightly routine?
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what I do.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: I do it in morning and night.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_02]: And if I if I miss one, I wake up the next morning.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: I missed it at night.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: I wake up and it shows me all the stuff I'm looking for and saved in search.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: And there it is for me.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe I missed a card or.
