- 1:12Speaker 7: who is not what he wants to be.
- 1:15Speaker 4: But is way grateful that is not who he used
- 1:18Speaker 4: to be.
- 1:19Speaker 8: Here.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Welcome Lord, it is that Kevin Show, that kevinshow dot Com.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Very glad to have you with us, very excited for
- 1:33Speaker 4: you to be with us. On such a momentous occasion.
- 1:36Speaker 4: And I call it a momentous occasion because this is
- 1:39Speaker 4: a day where we're going to do something very very important.
- 1:42Speaker 4: I happen to believe with all of my heart, everything
- 1:47Speaker 4: that's in my mind, body, soul and spirit. My children
- 1:50Speaker 4: know this through and through. My bride has heard it
- 1:54Speaker 4: more times than she can even count. But in our
- 1:57Speaker 4: house where we live, for me and my house, we
- 2:01Speaker 4: will follow Jesus Christ as the author, finisher, perfector of
- 2:06Speaker 4: not only what we believe our faith, but also the
- 2:09Speaker 4: guidance for our future, how we should live in the
- 2:11Speaker 4: present and how to deal with the mistakes that we've
- 2:14Speaker 4: made in the past. There's no aspect of life, there's
- 2:17Speaker 4: no element of life that doesn't come under his just
- 2:20Speaker 4: rule and reign, his desire to help us flourish, his
- 2:23Speaker 4: desire to help us know our mission in life, his
- 2:26Speaker 4: desire for us to be the kind of people that
- 2:28Speaker 4: He's called us to be. And there's not that many
- 2:30Speaker 4: people on talk radio that are going to get this
- 2:32Speaker 4: hyper and this excited about what I'm talking about. But
- 2:35Speaker 4: for me, friends, it's not just words. It is something
- 2:38Speaker 4: that I earnestly, passionately, deeply believe, and I want you
- 2:42Speaker 4: to understand, from the deepest part of who I am
- 2:45Speaker 4: to the deepest part of who you are, that it
- 2:46Speaker 4: can be the same for you. You can have great peace
- 2:50Speaker 4: and great joy and great knowledge of God through a
- 2:53Speaker 4: relationship with Him. It's why we do what we do.
- 2:56Speaker 4: I want to see every person listening as best I
- 2:59Speaker 4: can to faith in Jesus so that you can know
- 3:01Speaker 4: the joy that only He can give in its totality,
- 3:04Speaker 4: but in that reality and the understanding that that is
- 3:08Speaker 4: the bottom line, that is the highest good, that is
- 3:10Speaker 4: the furthest goal, that is everything that we can accomplish.
- 3:14Speaker 4: That There are some key components to that that are very,
- 3:18Speaker 4: very important, and not least among them, in fact, I
- 3:21Speaker 4: would say perhaps greatest among them would be the revealed
- 3:25Speaker 4: revelation of who Jesus is personally. And we have no
- 3:28Speaker 4: better source on planet Earth to understand him, to understand
- 3:32Speaker 4: what his life was about, to understand why his coming
- 3:35Speaker 4: was important, why it fulfilled prophecy, why it changed all
- 3:37Speaker 4: of history, why his return eventually is causing the Church
- 3:42Speaker 4: to have to evaluate how we live today and what
- 3:44Speaker 4: we do today. Friends, there is no understating the importance
- 3:48Speaker 4: of what Jesus' plan is, But how do we know
- 3:51Speaker 4: his plan? Well, the best revealed revelation that we have
- 3:57Speaker 4: of that is through the Bible itself. Michael will is
- 4:00Speaker 4: back with us, and Michael, I think a lot of
- 4:03Speaker 4: times it is easy for North American Christians to sit
- 4:10Speaker 4: very comfortably think about it from this perspective for a second.
- 4:13Speaker 4: How many of us in North America still carry a
- 4:16Speaker 4: Bible to our weekly church services? I know in the
- 4:21Speaker 4: service that I go to at the church that I
- 4:23Speaker 4: go to, there are many people that perhaps carry Bibles
- 4:28Speaker 4: on their phones. I happen to be guilty of that myself.
- 4:31Speaker 4: But there's not a ton of people in the American
- 4:33Speaker 4: construct and culture that have a Bible that they open
- 4:37Speaker 4: up and that they read from as a book on
- 4:40Speaker 4: a regular basis. Because of the technology that we have
- 4:43Speaker 4: around us, but there are not cell towers and Internet
- 4:48Speaker 4: portals and electronic hubs data centers where we're talking about
- 4:54Speaker 4: sending these Bibles. It is a completely different universe. And
- 4:58Speaker 4: from that standpoint, I want people to understand that if
- 5:01Speaker 4: they're listening to us talk about this, it's not because
- 5:04Speaker 4: the rest of the world's like here. It's not they
- 5:07Speaker 4: can't have fifty six versions translations all in one app
- 5:12Speaker 4: They are desperate for one copy of the scriptures in
- 5:15Speaker 4: their language Swahili or Mandarin or whatever it may be.
- 5:18Speaker 4: And that's why this is so vital.
- 5:21Speaker 9: Well, Kevin, I'm so grateful that you share our enthusiasm,
- 5:24Speaker 9: our burden to see these Bibles, you know, fill these
- 5:27Speaker 9: empty waiting hands. And that's what we're doing today. We're
- 5:30Speaker 9: filling hard, hungry believers with the precious work of God.
- 5:33Speaker 9: Their hearts are full, Kevin. They've come to saving faith
- 5:36Speaker 9: right there in the first you know, weeks and months
- 5:38Speaker 9: of their walk with Christ.
- 5:39Speaker 1: But again, how much better when.
- 5:41Speaker 9: You have your own Bible to be able to open,
- 5:43Speaker 9: you know, God's precious word, understand as will for your life,
- 5:46Speaker 9: claim those promises in the day to day in places
- 5:49Speaker 9: like China. We're going to take your listeners there in
- 5:51Speaker 9: just a moment. But again, we want to do this
- 5:53Speaker 9: for ten thousand waiting believers that we know by name
- 5:56Speaker 9: it Biblely Kevin, as I recollect, this would be our
- 5:59Speaker 9: life campaign together.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You and I have done this for more than a decade.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Impossible, but we've never parted your word for it.
- 6:06Speaker 9: By the grace of God. And you've not changed one
- 6:09Speaker 9: bit those eleven years, Kevin. I feel like I've aged
- 6:12Speaker 9: a little bit, but you know, we've never parted ways disappointed.
- 6:16Speaker 9: This listening family has been so incredibly generous. And I
- 6:19Speaker 9: suppose they ask themselves, you know, God has used his
- 6:22Speaker 9: word to grow me. I love my Bible, right, I
- 6:25Speaker 9: simply want to give that privilege to others. And is
- 6:28Speaker 9: this the opportunity? This is the opportunity, right. And so
- 6:30Speaker 9: we're praying that when we wrap this up in the
- 6:32Speaker 9: coming weeks that we can circle back to all ten thousand,
- 6:36Speaker 9: eight hundred, just north of ten thousand, ten thousand, eight
- 6:38Speaker 9: hundred waiting believers again that we know by name it
- 6:41Speaker 9: Bible leak. Hey, the Bibles you're praying for, they're coming.
- 6:44Speaker 9: They're on their way.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Eight hundred yes, word is how they get there? One
- 6:48Speaker 4: eight hundred yees word. They're only five dollars a copy, friends,
- 6:52Speaker 4: and I would encourage you. You can't even download the
- 6:56Speaker 4: best Bible app on your app store for five dollars
- 7:00Speaker 4: because they're going to ask you for the for the
- 7:01Speaker 4: additional purchases inside, it's always going to be more than that.
- 7:04Speaker 4: So for less than it costs you to have your
- 7:07Speaker 4: electronic version. You can supply a physical copy, a durable copy.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I've held these copies of scripture in my own hand.
- 7:15Speaker 4: I've been to the Bible League headquarters. I've seen them
- 7:17Speaker 4: with my own eyes. They are made out of a
- 7:19Speaker 4: durable outer covering that is not like the leather or
- 7:24Speaker 4: what you may imagine the leather to be in American
- 7:27Speaker 4: Bibles or in you know, modern bibles. But it's actually
- 7:30Speaker 4: more durable than that. And then when you when you
- 7:33Speaker 4: peel open the pages, the pages have a durability to them.
- 7:37Speaker 4: They're they're they're stronger than average. And so these Bibles
- 7:40Speaker 4: are built to last. They are built for the long haul.
- 7:44Speaker 4: They are built to withstand twelve different people using them,
- 7:47Speaker 4: reading them, coming to faith in Jesus because of them.
- 7:50Speaker 4: And Michael, I've heard for years the stories of how
- 7:54Speaker 4: you know, some churches are so small and the copies
- 7:56Speaker 4: of the scriptures are so rare that they've they've had
- 7:59Speaker 4: to do the heart wrenching thing of tearing a Bible
- 8:01Speaker 4: apart and having one book of the Bible go with
- 8:04Speaker 4: with one family for a week, and another book of
- 8:07Speaker 4: the Bible go with another family. So that they can
- 8:09Speaker 4: study during the week. We don't want to see that.
- 8:12Speaker 4: We want every family to have a copy of God's
- 8:15Speaker 4: Word that are in these communities. And am I thankful
- 8:18Speaker 4: for their thirst and hunger for God's Word? Absolutely, But
- 8:22Speaker 4: for five dollars we should be able to satiate that
- 8:25Speaker 4: pretty easily.
- 8:25Speaker 9: Well, you know, I want to take you to China.
- 8:27Speaker 9: I will do that on either side of the break.
- 8:29Speaker 9: But you know, the main way that we accomplish our
- 8:32Speaker 9: glob weekly Bible study. Somebody will invite somebody to come
- 8:35Speaker 9: learn about Jesus, right. But the other way we do
- 8:38Speaker 9: this is through the gift of literacy. As you engage
- 8:40Speaker 9: people in the world, you find out they can't read,
- 8:43Speaker 9: you have another problem. Right, So we developed a literacy
- 8:46Speaker 9: program about forty years ago that gives the gift of
- 8:49Speaker 9: literacy in the native language of that person, right, And
- 8:52Speaker 9: in places like China, we've been able to offer English
- 8:55Speaker 9: as a second language. And the story is of a
- 8:58Speaker 9: being about twelve years of age. Father a commercial fisherman,
- 9:02Speaker 9: a Confucianist, her mother a Taylor, a bitter atheist, right,
- 9:06Speaker 9: But they desired a better life for their daughter ming, right,
- 9:09Speaker 9: And so they found out about English as a second language,
- 9:12Speaker 9: and there's a lot of people in China eager to
- 9:15Speaker 9: learn English, whites in the international business language. But they
- 9:17Speaker 9: would send Ming to a local community center, not knowing
- 9:21Speaker 9: that that venue is what it was. A church partnered
- 9:25Speaker 9: with Bible League to offer that program without charge, and
- 9:28Speaker 9: so Ming would go to that week after week. I
- 9:31Speaker 9: know we've got to go to break, but let me
- 9:32Speaker 9: come back and tell you what's happened with Ming and
- 9:35Speaker 9: with her father and even with their divided household right now.
- 9:39Speaker 9: But again, Kevin, that's why we're here doing this Kingdom business.
- 9:42Speaker 4: We'll get that update when we come back. He's Michael
- 9:45Speaker 4: Woolworth of Bible League. I'm Kevin McCullough, very very glad

- 13:09Speaker 15: Getting a letter after letter. The lean had been filed

- 14:08Speaker 2: Here he is from New York. Kevin McCullough.
- 14:16Speaker 4: All right, welcome in. It's the Thursday edition. And then
- 14:19Speaker 4: you know, we do some things on Thursdays we don't
- 14:21Speaker 4: do the rest of the week. We're gonna have some
- 14:23Speaker 4: parenting stuff later in the show. Always interested in helping
- 14:27Speaker 4: you with some of the lifestyle parts of life as well.
- 14:31Speaker 4: And that's why we start out with this segment early
- 14:36Speaker 4: in the show called how do We Live? Because asking
- 14:39Speaker 4: the big question of how we do everything else should
- 14:43Speaker 4: then infiltrate everything else that we do. And if the
- 14:46Speaker 4: culture dislikes God, disapproves of his word, looks at us
- 14:49Speaker 4: with suspicion or even hostility, how do we go about
- 14:53Speaker 4: being a good parent? How do we go about being
- 14:55Speaker 4: a great worker. How do we go about being a
- 14:57Speaker 4: good student in the pursuit of what we need to
- 15:00Speaker 4: learn today? And that's the purpose of this section and
- 15:04Speaker 4: this week even more so because we've been speaking with
- 15:07Speaker 4: Pastor Jason Warman of Coast Life Church in Florida, and
- 15:11Speaker 4: we've been looking at Jason this kind of dichotomy of
- 15:16Speaker 4: what it means to live. And there's the kind of
- 15:20Speaker 4: the biological definition of what it means to live, and
- 15:23Speaker 4: that's the technical breathing in and out and you know,
- 15:27Speaker 4: eating and going through the day and just existing. But
- 15:31Speaker 4: there's this other word that Jesus says when he's come
- 15:34Speaker 4: to give us life and to give us abundant life,
- 15:37Speaker 4: there's this idea that there is something more, there's something bigger,
- 15:40Speaker 4: there's a mission, if you will, a purpose for what
- 15:43Speaker 4: it all is about. And that's what we're coming to today.
- 15:46Speaker 4: And I'm pretty excited to get to this part of
- 15:48Speaker 4: the conversation. Where are we going.
- 15:50Speaker 18: Yeah, you know, it's so important, the existence life. But
- 15:55Speaker 18: then Jesus said, hey, I've come to give you that
- 15:57Speaker 18: transcendent life.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Well, with that existence, the other thing doesn't happen. So
- 16:01Speaker 4: you do have to be breeding in and out, and yeah, you.
- 16:04Speaker 18: Know, and God created us. We are you know, we're
- 16:07Speaker 18: His creation. But in our fallen state, we need spiritual
- 16:12Speaker 18: life that nourishes every other part of our life. And
- 16:15Speaker 18: that's why I go to and there's multiple verses that
- 16:19Speaker 18: you could go to, but when I always go to
- 16:20Speaker 18: a Psalm ninety two twelve to fourteen, it says the
- 16:23Speaker 18: righteous flourish like a palm tree and grow like a
- 16:26Speaker 18: cedar in Lebanon. They're planted in the house of the Lord.
- 16:29Speaker 18: They flourish in the course of our God. They still
- 16:32Speaker 18: bear fruit in old age. They are ever full of
- 16:35Speaker 18: sap and green. And I mean, it's a weird prayer,
- 16:38Speaker 18: prayer request or hope for people, but I hope they're
- 16:40Speaker 18: full of sap and green. I hope they're flourishing in
- 16:46Speaker 18: every aspect of our life. But you know, it's just
- 16:50Speaker 18: a scriptural reality is and that is where we're planted
- 16:53Speaker 18: is going to determine what we produce in our life.
- 16:57Speaker 18: And it's oftentimes I find people, you know, because we
- 17:01Speaker 18: are we're living in a world that everything is designed
- 17:06Speaker 18: to feed the BeOS life. It caters to the beaos life,
- 17:11Speaker 18: and so we have to be intentional about finding environments
- 17:15Speaker 18: that nourish that zoe, that abundant life that God has
- 17:20Speaker 18: promised us. And you have to understand, like the Bible goes, hey,
- 17:26Speaker 18: you're planted in the house of the Lord. Psalm Wan
- 17:28Speaker 18: talks about a tree planted by rivers of living water.
- 17:31Speaker 18: Jeremiah talks about a tree. There's multiple It's like, hey,
- 17:35Speaker 18: where you're planted in your life is going to determine
- 17:38Speaker 18: what's getting produced in your life. And God has always
- 17:42Speaker 18: had a pattern of a place where he would nurture
- 17:46Speaker 18: people spiritually.
- 17:47Speaker 12: I mean from the very beginning he put Adam and even.
- 17:50Speaker 18: The garden, and yes they had worked there, they had
- 17:53Speaker 18: you know, obviously man and woman creation together, but it
- 17:56Speaker 18: was communion with God.
- 17:57Speaker 12: They would fellowship with God.
- 17:59Speaker 18: After the fall of Man, God reconstituted Israel in the
- 18:04Speaker 18: Old Covenant, and he put a tabernacle, and all of
- 18:07Speaker 18: the tribes camped around the tabernacle, like if you've ever
- 18:10Speaker 18: seen a picture of it, like the tabernacle was in
- 18:13Speaker 18: the middle, the tribes camped around it. He put the
- 18:16Speaker 18: tabernacle at the centerpiece of the nation. And then today
- 18:20Speaker 18: I think it's really important that people understand that today
- 18:25Speaker 18: the center of spiritual life is God's Church. It's the
- 18:30Speaker 18: church is God's garden, if you will, in a spiritually
- 18:34Speaker 18: dry world, and you know it's the church is God's idea.
- 18:37Speaker 12: It's not man's idea.
- 18:39Speaker 18: It's the one institution on earth that Jesus personally calls
- 18:43Speaker 18: his body and claims that he is.
- 18:46Speaker 12: The head and the lord of it. Now we know.
- 18:48Speaker 18: Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords, and
- 18:50Speaker 18: he's Lord overall. But when it comes to the Church,
- 18:53Speaker 18: that's the one Jesus goes, Hey, that one's mine. He's
- 18:57Speaker 18: like the church is the apple of his eye, according
- 18:59Speaker 18: to Paul in Ephesians, where we are focused on the
- 19:03Speaker 18: world and sometimes the people of God Church, the Kingdom
- 19:08Speaker 18: of God is on the periphery. Like according to Paul,
- 19:11Speaker 18: like God's eye is on his church and the world
- 19:14Speaker 18: is on the periphery.
- 19:15Speaker 12: Like he's concerned about the world. But if you want
- 19:17Speaker 12: to know what.
- 19:17Speaker 18: God's focused on, He's focused on his people, his church,
- 19:22Speaker 18: nourishing his bride, bringing his people to flourishing. And I
- 19:27Speaker 18: believe the church was designed to be the centerpiece of
- 19:29Speaker 18: our nation. Like it's the centerpiece of our life like
- 19:33Speaker 18: it's the place where God plants us. Because you don't
- 19:37Speaker 18: expect a cedar tree to grow in the desert, and
- 19:40Speaker 18: you don't go looking for cactuses in an arcticle, and
- 19:44Speaker 18: so environment matters, and the same is true spiritually. If
- 19:49Speaker 18: we only plant ourselves in places where we're constantly fed
- 19:53Speaker 18: with worldly thinking, with things that feed the just the
- 19:57Speaker 18: mere human existence, then we end up just growing that
- 20:02Speaker 18: that biological existence. But if I plant myself in God's word,
- 20:08Speaker 18: if I plant myself in prayer, i plant myself in
- 20:11Speaker 18: God's church with the spiritual community, then I'm gonna I'm
- 20:16Speaker 18: going to grow spiritually. And it's just it's just a
- 20:19Speaker 18: spiritual principle, Like the spiritual fruit is the byproduct of
- 20:24Speaker 18: being planted in spiritual places right, right fruit is the
- 20:28Speaker 18: byproduct of right planting, And it's it's one of the
- 20:32Speaker 18: biggest lives of our culture right now. That church is optional,
- 20:36Speaker 18: like we want to make we're in an individualistic culture.
- 20:39Speaker 18: We cater everything to the individual. And God is like, hey,
- 20:43Speaker 18: I've called you to be my people, called you to
- 20:46Speaker 18: be my church. And it doesn't say everyone. The Bible
- 20:50Speaker 18: doesn't say everyone flourishes. It says those who are planted,
- 20:55Speaker 18: and what we've what grows in our life is simply
- 20:58Speaker 18: the byproduct of where we planted our lives. And that's
- 21:01Speaker 18: why I tell people all the time. I ask them
- 21:03Speaker 18: all the time. I'm like, hey, give God one year
- 21:07Speaker 18: of your life by getting planted in a local church,
- 21:10Speaker 18: by practicing some spiritual disciplines, like being found in the
- 21:15Speaker 18: Word of God, because man, if you can, if you
- 21:18Speaker 18: can get yourself planted in the right place, it's gonna happen.
- 21:23Speaker 18: Like fruit is going to grow, the fruit of the spirit,
- 21:26Speaker 18: the produce of God in our life. And then that
- 21:30Speaker 18: that affects every area, like our marriages can flourish, our
- 21:34Speaker 18: careers can flourish because we're living out of that abundant
- 21:37Speaker 18: life that God has called us to live well.
- 21:40Speaker 4: And I love that challenge. And my pastor says, on
- 21:44Speaker 4: a regular basis, you know the modern mind that says,
- 21:49Speaker 4: you know, well, I can worship God in the middle
- 21:51Speaker 4: of the forest or at the ocean or wherever else. Well,
- 21:55Speaker 4: I would hope that you are. I hope that you're
- 21:56Speaker 4: looking at creation and saying, God, You're amazing in and
- 22:00Speaker 4: seeing the evidence of your creation. But that leaves out
- 22:04Speaker 4: all the stuff that being part of the church then
- 22:09Speaker 4: is necessary for to teach you, which is encouragement, admonition, discipleship, growth, challenge, correction, instruction,
- 22:19Speaker 4: all the stuff that you only get when you're in
- 22:21Speaker 4: community with other people. And I think your challenge is
- 22:27Speaker 4: a good one. Give God a year, Give them a
- 22:29Speaker 4: year in faithful Sunday attendance, give them a year in
- 22:35Speaker 4: joining a small group, being accountable to other people that
- 22:38Speaker 4: are that are in that body service, serve alongside people.
- 22:43Speaker 4: And if you leave biological life just to grow unattended
- 22:49Speaker 4: in forests and everywhere else, you end up with what
- 22:52Speaker 4: wildfires underbrush that that outgrows its usefulness and other problems
- 22:58Speaker 4: that come along. And the animal kingdom has no sense
- 23:01Speaker 4: of a Zoe life. So it is kill or be killed,
- 23:04Speaker 4: It is eat or be eaten, because they're just living bios.
- 23:09Speaker 4: We're living Zoe, which is that other illumination. It's the
- 23:14Speaker 4: upstairs as you described yesterday, as Francis Schaeffer put it,
- 23:17Speaker 4: but it's that it's that understanding that there's something beyond
- 23:21Speaker 4: here that I get to be part of, and it
- 23:24Speaker 4: actually turns a piece of us on, like the lights
- 23:27Speaker 4: come on in a place that they're not capable of
- 23:30Speaker 4: prior to salvation, prior to the Holy Spirit, prior to
- 23:32Speaker 4: His work in our lives. And so when we're talking
- 23:35Speaker 4: about flourishing, yes, it's discipleship, it's understanding Christ's lordship, it's
- 23:40Speaker 4: coming into a right relationship with Him. But it's also
- 23:43Speaker 4: so much more than that. And if we want to
- 23:45Speaker 4: see human flourishing, we need to be pursuing it in
- 23:50Speaker 4: our in our own walk, and I mean by true flourishing.
- 23:53Speaker 4: But then we need to be agents of that flourishing
- 23:56Speaker 4: for others. And that's where what you've brought out today
- 23:59Speaker 4: is so important. You have one last thought on your
- 24:02Speaker 4: list here, and I want to make sure you get
- 24:04Speaker 4: to that.
- 24:05Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, you know you don't.
- 24:07Speaker 18: You don't transplant dead plants. You transplant living plants. And
- 24:13Speaker 18: that's that's what Jesus came to do. He came by
- 24:15Speaker 18: fifth through grace to make us spiritually alive.
- 24:19Speaker 12: And then he's like, hey, I've made you alive.
- 24:21Speaker 18: Let's let's get you plucked up out of that desert
- 24:24Speaker 18: of the world.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Don't become a dead plant. It's the bottom line, right,
- 24:28Speaker 4: don't don't die.
- 24:30Speaker 12: Yeah, you got to get planted in the right place.
- 24:32Speaker 4: That's it. Oh good Jason, such good stuff. I'm so
- 24:35Speaker 4: sad that tomorrow's Friday and we're bringing all this to
- 24:37Speaker 4: uh summation. But we'll we'll definitely look forward to tomorrow
- 24:41Speaker 4: and thank you for a great week.
- 24:43Speaker 12: Great to be with you.
- 24:44Speaker 4: You got it. Kevin McCulloch, coming right back. Don't go anywhere.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Let's stick around for more of that, Kevin.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Next, that's all right, I do by, by bye.
- 25:00Speaker 19: In Washington, are we headed toward another possible government shutdown
- 25:03Speaker 19: at the end of September? The next major government wide
- 25:06Speaker 19: funding deadline comes then, as the end of fiscal twenty
- 25:10Speaker 19: twenty six arrounds and the start of fiscal year twenty
- 25:12Speaker 19: twenty seven kicks in. The real question, according to the
- 25:15Speaker 19: White House, is whether Democrats planned to try to orchestrate
- 25:18Speaker 19: another government shut down in the interim. Congress is supposed
- 25:21Speaker 19: to pass twelve annual appropriations bills, and there's a lot
- 25:25Speaker 19: of reasons to believe that that may not happen. Republicans
- 25:29Speaker 19: in Congress continue to back the Iran war despite.
- 25:31Speaker 4: The political risk.
- 25:32Speaker 19: The potential political peril has only grown in recent days,
- 25:35Speaker 19: but GOP lawmakers say they want more information from President Trump,
- 25:39Speaker 19: but still support the fact that he went to war
- 25:41Speaker 19: with Iran in spite of the higher gas prices. Right
- 25:44Speaker 19: now on Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and
- 25:47Speaker 19: the other major indexes are struggling. The Dow is off
- 25:49Speaker 19: five seventy six, the Nazact down five hundred and eighty
- 25:52Speaker 19: two points.
- 25:53Speaker 2: This is SRN news.
- 25:56Speaker 20: H I am Kirk Cameron. Christian Healthcare Ministries is not

- 28:08Speaker 2: Here he is from New York.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That Kevin Kevin McCullough.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Welcome back, Kevin mccallough. Let head with us, and grateful
- 28:19Speaker 4: to have Michael Woolworth with us, because while we talk
- 28:22Speaker 4: about getting Bibles to people, we also want to use
- 28:26Speaker 4: the Bible to help determine how we live in a
- 28:29Speaker 4: day in which sometimes the culture is hostile towards the Bible.
- 28:32Speaker 4: But Michael, when you were with us in the opening,
- 28:35Speaker 4: you were talking about the story of a man named
- 28:38Speaker 4: Meng and I want you to have plenty of time
- 28:41Speaker 4: to explain what that was.
- 28:43Speaker 9: Yeah, And as I do that, may I say thanks
- 28:45Speaker 9: to people like Barbara of Brooklyn who said, I'm in
- 28:47Speaker 9: at thirteen bibles. Lyle of New York City said, Michael, Kevin,
- 28:51Speaker 9: call me in a one hundred dollars tax deductible gift
- 28:53Speaker 9: to put Bibles into the empty waiting hands of twenty
- 28:56Speaker 9: believers that we know around the world. And Kevin, that's
- 28:59Speaker 9: how it it gets done today. It's every call, with
- 29:02Speaker 9: every click, and we want to do that ultimately for
- 29:04Speaker 9: just north of ten thousand believers that we know by
- 29:07Speaker 9: name at Bible. Yeah, the story of Meing, twelve years
- 29:10Speaker 9: of age, living just outside of Beijing, China. As I
- 29:13Speaker 9: mentioned her father a Confucianist, a commercial fisherman, her mother
- 29:17Speaker 9: a tailor, a bitter atheist.
- 29:19Speaker 7: Right.
- 29:20Speaker 9: Desiring a better life for Youngming, they wanted her to
- 29:22Speaker 9: learn English as a second language. They saw this offered
- 29:25Speaker 9: at a community center. It turns out that was a
- 29:27Speaker 9: local evangelical church partnering with Bible League to use this
- 29:31Speaker 9: Bible League program that we've had for about four decades now,
- 29:35Speaker 9: and in her case, she would learn English as a
- 29:37Speaker 9: second language. So Kevin, she goes week after week. This
- 29:39Speaker 9: program is offered by caring believers right who are able
- 29:43Speaker 9: to answer questions about the Bible. The Bible is the
- 29:46Speaker 9: source of those reading assignments. And I can tell you
- 29:48Speaker 9: about eight weeks into that program, young Meing would go
- 29:51Speaker 9: home in a very very enthusiastic way, talking about her
- 29:56Speaker 9: new Lord and Savior. Right, she had become a believer.
- 29:58Speaker 9: And again both in Me and in English, she would
- 30:01Speaker 9: talk about Jesus. I can tell you her father, a Confucianist,
- 30:05Speaker 9: turned on to the hope of the Gospel.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:07Speaker 9: He and Ming are now part of the House Church movement.
- 30:10Speaker 9: But the mother, a bitter atheist, wants nothing to do
- 30:13Speaker 9: with Christianity. You've got this audio clip from Micah colleague Esther.
- 30:17Speaker 9: She talks about it's a crime to evangelized children under
- 30:22Speaker 9: the age of eighteen in China. But again, Bible League,
- 30:25Speaker 9: by the grace of God, has been able to be
- 30:26Speaker 9: creative over again four decades and provide English as a
- 30:30Speaker 9: second language. This is Esther, and she is in communist China.
- 30:34Speaker 22: We cannot preach to children under eighteen. That is the
- 30:37Speaker 22: practice and law. When the parents bring kids to the church.
- 30:42Speaker 22: When you can teach them English and then you can
- 30:45Speaker 22: send the gift of Gospel to them, it is a
- 30:48Speaker 22: great joy.
- 30:49Speaker 14: Well, let me tell you.
- 30:49Speaker 9: I tell you where the story of Ming and her
- 30:51Speaker 9: father go. So they Kevin, they joined the House Church
- 30:54Speaker 9: movement there. These are congregations that refuse to register with
- 30:58Speaker 9: the government. When you do that, monitor they give you
- 31:01Speaker 9: a sanitized Bible that essentially strips Jesus of his deity.
- 31:05Speaker 9: Their pastor is a man by the name of Katsu.
- 31:07Speaker 9: We've talked about him before, but Kevin. At the end
- 31:10Speaker 9: of these services, there may be two hundred adults in
- 31:13Speaker 9: that congregation and two Mandarin language Bibles. I've not been there,
- 31:17Speaker 9: I've not seen this with my own eyes, but my
- 31:19Speaker 9: colleague esther that was there. She said, Michael, people will
- 31:22Speaker 9: stay after the worship service. Again, there may be two
- 31:25Speaker 9: Mandarin language Bibles. They will they will painstakingly be handwriting
- 31:29Speaker 9: scriptures from that Bible and the Mandarin language. Again, that's
- 31:33Speaker 9: how desperate they are to have something to take into
- 31:35Speaker 9: their week to grow in the grace and knowledge.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Of Jesus and Kevin.
- 31:38Speaker 9: I've got a Chinese Bible in my studio here with me.
- 31:42Speaker 9: I can tell you that the Christians that we're talking
- 31:44Speaker 9: about today would give absolutely anything. They'd give their left
- 31:48Speaker 9: arm for what we're talking about today. And again that's
- 31:51Speaker 9: why we're here doing this kingdom business. So for young
- 31:53Speaker 9: men her father Daiku, they would love to have a Bible.
- 31:57Speaker 9: And again other two hundred other families in the House
- 32:00Speaker 9: Church movement there just outside of Beijing, China, again would
- 32:03Speaker 9: give their left arm for what we're talking about today.
- 32:07Speaker 4: So I just want to challenge you, if you're someone
- 32:09Speaker 4: who deeply values and loves scripture, imagine the angst you
- 32:17Speaker 4: would have if you were suddenly without it, and then
- 32:20Speaker 4: multiply that times. Two hundred people in a church that
- 32:24Speaker 4: has no access to them can't go down to the
- 32:26Speaker 4: Walgreens and buy one off the bookshelf. Can't just order
- 32:30Speaker 4: one off of the Sam's Club or Walmart website or Amazon.
- 32:33Speaker 4: It doesn't These things don't exist where they are. But
- 32:37Speaker 4: for one thousand dollars, just a single gift of one
- 32:40Speaker 4: thousand dollars, all two hundred people could have a Bible
- 32:44Speaker 4: supplied in their language, in their hands, in their home,
- 32:47Speaker 4: in their life. Why is that significant, Well, because, as
- 32:52Speaker 4: I've mentioned frequently in this discussion, the people at Bible
- 32:57Speaker 4: League have tracked a statistic since the very beginning of
- 33:00Speaker 4: their work eighty eight years ago, and not for a decade,
- 33:04Speaker 4: either two decades or just a few decades, but for
- 33:06Speaker 4: eighty eight years they have been able to trace that
- 33:11Speaker 4: up to twelve people per Bible have come to faith
- 33:14Speaker 4: in Jesus because of each Bible that goes out. So
- 33:18Speaker 4: when you're talking about two hundred people getting Bibles and
- 33:23Speaker 4: eventually reaching twelve individuals a piece for the cause of
- 33:28Speaker 4: the Gospel, you're talking about massive expansion of the knowledge
- 33:32Speaker 4: of Jesus's salvation for them. And I would just encourage
- 33:34Speaker 4: you to throw gas on that fire, keep the flame lit,
- 33:40Speaker 4: and allow the Gospel to do its work one eight
- 33:42Speaker 4: hundred yes word, one eight hundred yes word, one eight
- 33:46Speaker 4: hundred yes word, or go to that kevinshow dot com
- 33:50Speaker 4: and click the Bible League banner that's at the top
- 33:52Speaker 4: of the page. Now, if you call or if you
- 33:55Speaker 4: go online, either way, it shouldn't take more than just
- 33:58Speaker 4: a couple of minutes to give your information. But when
- 34:01Speaker 4: you do call, when you do give, ask yourself the question,
- 34:04Speaker 4: how many people do I want to reach for Jesus?
- 34:07Speaker 4: Because really that's the test. It's not just how many
- 34:10Speaker 4: Bibles you can send, it's how many ultimately do you
- 34:12Speaker 4: want to see coming to faith in Jesus. Well, here's
- 34:15Speaker 4: how it works. You take your monetary money that's available,
- 34:19Speaker 4: you divide it by five dollars. That's the number of
- 34:22Speaker 4: Bibles that you'll be sending out to know the number
- 34:25Speaker 4: of people that you'll reach. Multiply that number of Bibles
- 34:28Speaker 4: times twelve, and that's eventually how many will come to faith.
- 34:31Speaker 4: Because you made this gift today, don't delay, don't wait.
- 34:35Speaker 4: Someone's eternity is hanging in the balance because of it.
- 34:38Speaker 4: One eight hundred yes word, one eight hundred yees word
- 34:42Speaker 4: or go to that Kevinshow dot com that kevinshow dot com.
- 34:46Speaker 4: All one word that kevinshow dot com and click the
- 34:49Speaker 4: Bible League banner on the homepage.
- 34:55Speaker 10: You've probably heard all those ads for life insurance. Just
- 34:58Speaker 10: a few dollars a day, apply on online in minutes,
- 35:00Speaker 10: no medical exam, simple, easy and cheap. Right now you're thinking,
- 35:04Speaker 10: maybe I should get a quote. Smart thinking everyone should
- 35:07Speaker 10: have life insurance. But here's what they don't tell you.
- 35:10Speaker 10: Those few dollars a day rates they're for young people
- 35:12Speaker 10: and perfect health. That's why everyone calls Big Lou the
- 35:16Speaker 10: fifty to sixty year old not so perfect candidates like you.
- 35:20Speaker 10: You take prescription meds and you're overweight, winter Winner, fried
- 35:23Speaker 10: Chicken dinner. Well, Big Lou works with life insurance companies
- 35:26Speaker 10: that want people like you with no surprises after you apply.
- 35:30Speaker 10: In fact, if you're a fifty year old guy with
- 35:32Speaker 10: a few health glitches, Lou could probably find you a
- 35:34Speaker 10: million dollars of term life coverage for about two hundred
- 35:37Speaker 10: bucks a month. So, yeah, you need life insurance. But

- 39:08Speaker 2: Here he is from New York that Kevin, Kevin McCullough, have.
- 39:15Speaker 4: You with us, It's that Kevin show, that kevinshow dot com.
- 39:19Speaker 4: And very glad to have Michael Woolworth back with us
- 39:21Speaker 4: as well as we are telling people that this is
- 39:24Speaker 4: the opportunity right now to see to it that the
- 39:26Speaker 4: Bible gets into the hands of people who are desperate.
- 39:29Speaker 4: They want a copy of God's word. But here's the challenge.
- 39:34Speaker 4: There are none available. And Michael Woolworth, as we've highlighted
- 39:38Speaker 4: a little bit, there's kind of a variety of reasons
- 39:41Speaker 4: why they may fall into that category. But the point
- 39:44Speaker 4: is everyone that receives a Bible league Bible all fit
- 39:47Speaker 4: that description. They desperately want one and they don't have
- 39:51Speaker 4: access to one.
- 39:52Speaker 9: Well, we just covered a story from China, right, I mean,
- 39:54Speaker 9: the government there wants to be everything to its people.
- 39:57Speaker 9: They have come down hard, you know their firewall there.
- 40:01Speaker 9: You know it's impossible to go on and order a Bible.
- 40:04Speaker 10: Right.
- 40:04Speaker 1: You go into a bookshop, you can't find a Bible.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Right.
- 40:07Speaker 9: You find plenty of books on Buddhism and Confucianism, right,
- 40:11Speaker 9: but not on Christianity. So again, for those and other reasons, Kevin,
- 40:14Speaker 9: I mean, we're doing for these believers today what they
- 40:17Speaker 9: really cannot do for themselves, and that is to put
- 40:20Speaker 9: their hands on the precious Word of God. Today, let
- 40:23Speaker 9: me just say thanks to people like Warren of Queens
- 40:25Speaker 9: who said, I'm in at a dozen Bibles. Marie of
- 40:28Speaker 9: Newark said, Michael Kevin, count me in a fifty dollars
- 40:31Speaker 9: gift today to put Bibles into the waiting hands of
- 40:34Speaker 9: ten believers. And again, we ultimately want to do this
- 40:36Speaker 9: for just north of ten thousand, ten thousand eight hundred
- 40:40Speaker 9: believers that we know by name at the Bible League.
- 40:43Speaker 9: And again it happens with every call and with every clique.
- 40:46Speaker 9: Today Kevin one.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Eight hundred yes word is the number one, eight hundred
- 40:50Speaker 4: yees word. Or go online to that kevinshow dot com
- 40:55Speaker 4: and click the banner at the top of the page.
- 40:57Speaker 4: The Bible League banner takes you directly to the giving
- 41:00Speaker 4: page and you can be as generous as you can.
- 41:03Speaker 4: We're just getting started. The goal is ten thousand Bibles.
- 41:06Speaker 4: It's a lot of Bibles. But I believe that we
- 41:08Speaker 4: can do this and ultimately, Michael, that miracle multiplier is
- 41:13Speaker 4: going to mean that those ten thousand Bibles end up
- 41:16Speaker 4: reaching about one hundred and twenty thousand people for the
- 41:19Speaker 4: cause of the Gospel.
- 41:20Speaker 9: Yeah, we can say with confidence of Bible League after
- 41:23Speaker 9: nearly nine decades in ministry that on average, you know,
- 41:26Speaker 9: a Bible reaches a dozen people. Some money comes to
- 41:29Speaker 9: saving faith on the heels of a twelve week Bible
- 41:32Speaker 9: study with Bible League, and we provide them a Bible
- 41:35Speaker 9: in their own language at a level they can understand.
- 41:37Speaker 9: Then they'll say to others in their village, Look, I've
- 41:39Speaker 9: got a Bible. Come, let's read and grow as believers.
- 41:42Speaker 9: Together they'll introduce others to the hope of the Gospel.
- 41:44Speaker 9: But again with confidence, we can say, on average a
- 41:47Speaker 9: dozen people impacted with every Bible, and so you know'll
- 41:51Speaker 9: be a part of this today. It happens for the
- 41:53Speaker 9: princely sum of only five dollars a Bible. And I
- 41:56Speaker 9: do want to take you to Venezuela here in a moment.
- 41:59Speaker 9: You know, Kevin, we you and I are doing today
- 42:00Speaker 9: is simply taking listeners around the world. You know, it's
- 42:04Speaker 9: fifty Bibles here, one thousand there, five hundred over here.
- 42:07Speaker 9: It's unmet Bible needs and our prayers that you don't
- 42:10Speaker 9: merely say okay, that's an interesting story, or yes, what
- 42:12Speaker 9: a difficult part of the world to live out your faith.
- 42:15Speaker 9: Take that empathy a step further today, become a Bible center.
- 42:17Speaker 9: And again it happens in only five dollars a Bible.
- 42:21Speaker 4: One eight hundred yes word, one eight hundred yes word.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Or that kevinshow dot com the Bible League banner on
- 42:27Speaker 4: the homepage of that kevinshow dot com. Where are we
- 42:30Speaker 4: going next, Michael.
- 42:31Speaker 9: Well, let me take it to Venezuela I know fresh
- 42:33Speaker 9: in our minds, both of those earthquakes that hit just
- 42:37Speaker 9: outside of Caracas, the capitol and Venezuela, only what a
- 42:40Speaker 9: few weeks ago. I think they're still trying to tally
- 42:43Speaker 9: how many people who have died, have been injured, displaced,
- 42:46Speaker 9: and still unaccounted for. But that's the setting for the
- 42:48Speaker 9: next story. You've got a clip from my colleague by
- 42:51Speaker 9: the name of RAFAELI talks about, you know, what Christians
- 42:53Speaker 9: are off and up against in a place where the
- 42:55Speaker 9: drug cartel rules the day. And again, Kevin, here in America,
- 42:59Speaker 9: what do we have religious freedom? We've got loss on
- 43:01Speaker 9: the books right for the most part, we can minister,
- 43:04Speaker 9: we can worship right, we can share our faith with
- 43:06Speaker 9: others without you know, being beaten to a pulp if
- 43:09Speaker 9: you will, or jail. But it is an entirely different
- 43:12Speaker 9: level in places like Venezuela, in.
- 43:15Speaker 24: Latin America, they are violence. Only rich people have safety,
- 43:20Speaker 24: has security. Poor neighborhoods are full of corruption, a full
- 43:25Speaker 24: of mystery, full of poverty, and criminals are almost at
- 43:31Speaker 24: home when they are in the streets. Pastors and Christian
- 43:36Speaker 24: workers face with that problem. Attackers, draws, thieves, gangs, so
- 43:44Speaker 24: that's the problem.
- 43:46Speaker 9: Well, that's a big problem, and when you have to
- 43:48Speaker 9: encounter violence and carrying out ministry. But Kevin, the drug
- 43:51Speaker 9: cartel kind of runs the show down there. They will
- 43:54Speaker 9: funnel a lot of drugs through a prostitution rings. How
- 43:57Speaker 9: do they create those prostitution rings? They forced women, girls
- 44:01Speaker 9: as young as eleven, twelve, thirteen years of age into
- 44:04Speaker 9: this prostitution. These women live in absolute, utter hopelessness.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Right.
- 44:08Speaker 9: But there was a church in that area that said, look,
- 44:10Speaker 9: we've got to do something about it. They worked with
- 44:12Speaker 9: another ministry to be able to learn to forcibly rescue
- 44:16Speaker 9: these women, bring him to a place of safety. They've
- 44:19Speaker 9: learned to do that very very well. But they work
- 44:21Speaker 9: with biblely to be able to introduce these women once
- 44:25Speaker 9: they're brought to a place of safety, to the hope
- 44:27Speaker 9: of the Gospel and listen, Kevin. They've paid an incredible price.
- 44:30Speaker 9: One of the members of that church, in the course
- 44:32Speaker 9: of a rescue, was murdered by the drug cartel. They
- 44:34Speaker 9: dragged his corpse behind a truck down one of the
- 44:37Speaker 9: small main streets just outside of Caracas, Venezuela. They were
- 44:41Speaker 9: trying to send a message, don't mess with the drug cartel.
- 44:44Speaker 9: But this church day's squarely focused on what they believe
- 44:47Speaker 9: God has called them to do. And I can tell you,
- 44:49Speaker 9: by the grace of Gone and through the gumption of
- 44:51Speaker 9: this local church again just miles from the earthquake that
- 44:55Speaker 9: hit down there near Krokos, one hundred and twenty women
- 44:58Speaker 9: have been brought to safety and brought to saving faith.
- 45:01Speaker 9: They're new creations in Christ, Kevin. They're ready to begin
- 45:04Speaker 9: a new life free from all of that oppression.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Right.
- 45:08Speaker 9: But again they need the precious Word of God in
- 45:10Speaker 9: the Spanish language. So I could say I am grateful
- 45:13Speaker 9: for churches willing to pay a price to put their
- 45:16Speaker 9: lives on the line to see people brought to again
- 45:18Speaker 9: a place of safety, but also to a place of
- 45:21Speaker 9: new life in Christ. And that's why we've gathered today
- 45:23Speaker 9: to send the precious Word of God at places like Caracas, Venezuela.
- 45:28Speaker 4: One eight hundred yes word one eight hundred y e s.
- 45:32Speaker 4: Word is how you call to make that gift. Or

- 45:49Speaker 4: copy you send out up to twelve people are most
- 45:53Speaker 4: likely going to come to faith in Jesus because of that.
- 45:55Speaker 4: It's just such an encouraging thing, which is one of
- 45:57Speaker 4: the reasons why I kind of insist that we do
- 45:59Speaker 4: this every year. I want to see the world shape
- 46:02Speaker 4: for the Gospel, and this is one of the one
- 46:04Speaker 4: of the most sure ways that we can do it.
- 46:07Speaker 4: Ninety years of evidence says so one eight hundred yes

- 47:09Speaker 25: There is nothing in the Constitution that says a separation
- 47:13Speaker 25: of church and state. Nowhere in our founding documents that
- 47:16Speaker 25: there is a complete separation. The way people understand it
- 47:19Speaker 25: like that the church can have no relationship to the
- 47:22Speaker 25: government and the government can have no relationship to religion,
- 47:26Speaker 25: which is how people interpret it. When we say separation
- 47:28Speaker 25: of church and state. It means that we have a
- 47:31Speaker 25: government that has no relationship to religion, and that's not true.
- 47:34Speaker 25: What people need to understand is the Constitution just simply
- 47:38Speaker 25: says that there will be no establishment of a national church.
- 47:41Speaker 25: That was a preview of In the Arena with Jason Warman.

- 50:06Speaker 1: the cabin of the show.
- 50:08Speaker 28: I am listed.
- 50:10Speaker 3: I am ten years old and live in Peru with
- 50:12Speaker 3: my mom and sisters.
- 50:14Speaker 4: My dad died last year.
- 50:16Speaker 14: We would like a Bible to read every day when
- 50:19Speaker 14: we wake up.
- 50:19Speaker 4: Thank you Lizabeth in her wonderfully almost totally pure English,
- 50:26Speaker 4: but telling the story of what she and her mom
- 50:28Speaker 4: are dealing with. And I know that for myself, friends,
- 50:33Speaker 4: when I've had some of the darkest times of life
- 50:36Speaker 4: visited upon us, it has been through the pages of
- 50:38Speaker 4: Scripture that I have been most encouraged, and I have
- 50:41Speaker 4: grown through those seasons, even though they have had sometimes
- 50:45Speaker 4: very sad or very dark chapters. Michael Woolworth, as we
- 50:48Speaker 4: round out this hour, that is the great gift that
- 50:51Speaker 4: we're giving everyone. We're not machines. We don't live the
- 50:56Speaker 4: same every day. We have good days, we have bad days.
- 50:59Speaker 4: The Word of God those there for every day, and
- 51:02Speaker 4: it does give us that encouragement to keep going.
- 51:05Speaker 23: Well.
- 51:05Speaker 9: When you know the phone phone's a little like Kevin,
- 51:08Speaker 9: you bring out the big guns in the form of
- 51:10Speaker 9: a ten year old Elizabeth, Right, how about that wonderful plea.
- 51:12Speaker 9: Let me tell you about the man that reached her.
- 51:14Speaker 9: Carlo and I tenor at pastor in the Andyes Mountains.
- 51:17Speaker 9: You know this woman, this young gal, Elizabeth, lives in
- 51:20Speaker 9: the country of Peru. Her father died about a year ago.
- 51:23Speaker 9: She mentioned that in the clip right, it was ill
- 51:25Speaker 9: never recovered from that that left her mother a widow
- 51:27Speaker 9: with four young daughters.
- 51:29Speaker 1: E Lizabeth part of the mix there at ten years
- 51:31Speaker 1: of age.
- 51:31Speaker 9: Right, And she's not asking for our pity today, She's
- 51:34Speaker 9: simply saying, what eating about the gaunt who loves us?
- 51:36Speaker 9: And so that pastor has been Carlo has been beaten
- 51:40Speaker 9: by warlocks male witches right, who have fiercely opposed the Gospel.
- 51:44Speaker 9: He's fallen one hundred feet in the Andys Mountains, been
- 51:47Speaker 9: robbed of everything in his possession. But again he does
- 51:49Speaker 9: all of this to the glory of gone and to
- 51:51Speaker 9: reach precious families like that of young Elizabeth.
- 51:54Speaker 1: And so you know, we're grateful for people like Carlo
- 51:57Speaker 1: and Kevin. We're grateful for people like like.
- 52:00Speaker 9: Miriam of the Bronx, who said, I'm in I want
- 52:02Speaker 9: to bless people like young Elizabeth with God's word. Today,
- 52:05Speaker 9: Steven of New York City said, Michael, Kevin count me
- 52:08Speaker 9: in at a dozen Bibles. And so again, what you
- 52:11Speaker 9: and I are doing, Kevin is just really drilling down
- 52:14Speaker 9: different parts of the world. I love to say no
- 52:16Speaker 9: passport require no jet lag tomorrow morning, right, But to
- 52:19Speaker 9: give you a glimpse into what God is doing in
- 52:21Speaker 9: all of this, pointing to what our ultimate goal as
- 52:24Speaker 9: we've joined together to bless just north of ten thousand
- 52:27Speaker 9: waiting believers, a couple of those as we go to
- 52:30Speaker 9: break here Rohan and India. A former Hindu when he
- 52:34Speaker 9: became a believer, radicalized Hindus at his village beat him
- 52:38Speaker 9: nearly to death, and more than anything, he's praying for
- 52:40Speaker 9: a Bible. Luis is in Ecuador, neighboring to Peru. There
- 52:44Speaker 9: one of those again, another one of those reached by
- 52:47Speaker 9: Pastor Carlo. Now Luis is what as if former crime
- 52:49Speaker 9: boss was part of the drug cartel down there, did
- 52:52Speaker 9: a serious jail time, but he was reached by Carlo
- 52:55Speaker 9: behind prison walls. Today he's a freeman and he is
- 52:58Speaker 9: ministering in part of the world, praying for a Bible
- 53:02Speaker 9: in the ancient Keechwe language. So again, Kevin, that's why
- 53:04Speaker 9: we're here. It's five dollars Bible, and the question remains,
- 53:08Speaker 9: how many will you send today?
- 53:10Speaker 4: Well, right now, one eight hundred, yes word, you can
- 53:13Speaker 4: call that number and give those bibles. One eight hundred

- 53:31Speaker 4: you give right now will make an absolute difference, because
- 53:34Speaker 4: the one thing that all of the recipients of these
- 53:37Speaker 4: Bibles have in common is that they have a need
- 53:41Speaker 4: in their heart to learn more about Jesus. They have
- 53:45Speaker 4: a desire in their heart and mind and soul in
- 53:48Speaker 4: life to be a more fully devoted follower to him.
- 53:52Speaker 4: They know that scripture is the key to that, and
- 53:55Speaker 4: yet they are That's the one thing they are without.
- 53:58Speaker 4: They may be without a number of other things, but
- 54:00Speaker 4: when it comes to what they need for that relationship
- 54:04Speaker 4: to be turned into a discipleship scenario, they need scripture.
- 54:09Speaker 4: They are desperate for the scripture. They want the scripture,
- 54:12Speaker 4: but they don't have access to it. That's what they
- 54:14Speaker 4: all have in common, and we can we can satisfy
- 54:18Speaker 4: that need today by just going and dialing the number

- 55:43Speaker 4: It's Kevin McCollough Monday through Friday on That Kevin Show.
- 55:54Speaker 7: And now from the Counters in Sullivan Broadcast Studios. The
- 55:58Speaker 7: man who is not what he wants to be, but
- 56:01Speaker 7: is way grateful that is not who.
- 56:04Speaker 18: He used to be.
- 56:05Speaker 4: Here, Kella mccaullaugh, glad to have you with us. We
- 56:13Speaker 4: are in the midst of doing something exciting. I think
- 56:16Speaker 4: it's it's one of the most important things that we
- 56:18Speaker 4: do every year, and that is to simply put Bibles
- 56:21Speaker 4: into the hands of those who don't have them, who
- 56:24Speaker 4: desperately want them. And I don't I don't use that
- 56:28Speaker 4: word lightly. I think desperation is a is an important thing.
- 56:31Speaker 4: When people are desperate, they do sometimes dangerous things. We
- 56:35Speaker 4: think of desperate people and going to desperate measures, but
- 56:38Speaker 4: when you when you talk about the heart of people
- 56:41Speaker 4: that truly long for something, the Christians that we are
- 56:46Speaker 4: helping get copies of the Scriptures to, I just desperation
- 56:51Speaker 4: is what they feel because they want to have God's
- 56:55Speaker 4: word that they can put into their life, put into
- 56:58Speaker 4: their heart and pass on to others. That's why we
- 57:01Speaker 4: partner with the Bible League, and I the very first
- 57:05Speaker 4: day of this campaign, I've already heard from one person
- 57:08Speaker 4: who mocked it a little bit. I understand that there's
- 57:10Speaker 4: not going to be there's going to be some of
- 57:12Speaker 4: you that are just not going to understand what we're
- 57:13Speaker 4: doing here. That's okay, God's bigger than you, and he's
- 57:17Speaker 4: bigger than this cause, and he understands that what we're
- 57:19Speaker 4: doing is hugely important because it is that vital. Michael
- 57:25Speaker 4: Woolworth is back with us from Bible League, and Michael,
- 57:29Speaker 4: I have a couple, not many, but I have a
- 57:31Speaker 4: couple of cynical people that listen to the show and
- 57:35Speaker 4: they regularly weigh in on the negativity of anything that
- 57:39Speaker 4: they can find to try to And they said something like,
- 57:43Speaker 4: Kevin's trying to sell Bibles, like it's like it's Russia
- 57:47Speaker 4: and the Soviet Union in the nineteen eighties. Now I
- 57:50Speaker 4: don't know anything about like what the nineteen eighties and
- 57:53Speaker 4: the Soviet Union was like, So I don't even know
- 57:55Speaker 4: if that's a fair comparison or not. But when you
- 57:58Speaker 4: diminished the idea that people who want to have access
- 58:03Speaker 4: to the scriptures don't get it, and you're okay with that,
- 58:08Speaker 4: Like you're okay with that, you don't know much about
- 58:13Speaker 4: number one, the belief of these people and how vibrant
- 58:16Speaker 4: it is and how deep it runs, And you don't
- 58:19Speaker 4: know the real joy that comes from the pages of
- 58:21Speaker 4: scriptures themselves. And I think that one of the things
- 58:24Speaker 4: that I hope we can ask people to tap into
- 58:27Speaker 4: as they're thinking about giving Bibles this year, is that
- 58:30Speaker 4: I would ask every person that knows that the Bible
- 58:34Speaker 4: is true and in their own heart has helped them
- 58:37Speaker 4: see answers to prayer and guidance through its pages, that
- 58:42Speaker 4: they would step up and say, Okay, we're not gonna
- 58:44Speaker 4: let the cynics shout out the needs drown out the
- 58:49Speaker 4: needs of those that desperately and I use that word
- 58:52Speaker 4: unapologetically desperately want a copy of the text for themselves.
- 58:56Speaker 4: You've actually traveled to some of these places, Michael, and
- 58:59Speaker 4: aside from are what we were going to talk about here,
- 59:01Speaker 4: I just want to get your thoughts real quick at
- 59:03Speaker 4: the beginning. These people are genuine that want scripture. This
- 59:08Speaker 4: is one of the most earnest ones that a human
- 59:10Speaker 4: has ever wanted.
- 59:12Speaker 9: Well, we're filling heart, you know, we're feeding heart hungry believers, Kevin.
- 59:17Speaker 9: That's what we're doing today, right, heart hungry believers who
- 59:20Speaker 9: have come to saving faith. Right, somebody in their village said,
- 59:23Speaker 9: come learn about Jesus. They went through a weekly Bible
- 59:26Speaker 9: study from Biblely we have been doing that for more
- 59:28Speaker 9: than eighty eight years. Right, and then at the end
- 59:31Speaker 9: of that studies, they say, I want to follow Jesus, right,
- 59:33Speaker 9: I need to follow Jesus, leaving all the isms of
- 59:36Speaker 9: the world, if you will. They need a Bible what
- 59:39Speaker 9: to grow in grace? And so their hearts are full,
- 59:41Speaker 9: why they're members of our spiritual family. But those hands,
- 59:44Speaker 9: they're empty. They're waiting for God's word. And so yeah, Kevin,
- 59:48Speaker 9: I have travel, we have friends that fund those trips.
- 59:50Speaker 9: You know, I've seen people, you know, when they receive
- 59:53Speaker 9: the Bible. They've sung, they've cried, they've.
- 59:56Speaker 1: Danced for joy.
- 59:57Speaker 9: I remember one woman deep in the bush of Afri
- 1:00:00Speaker 9: when we gave her the Bible. It was complete silence, right,
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: she simply held that Bible close to her chest. She
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: sighed relief, Kevin, that she finally had a Bible. And
- 1:00:10Speaker 9: so again, that's what you're doing with every five dollars
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: gift is again filling the empty waiting hands of heart
- 1:00:17Speaker 9: hungry believers. And you know, I love what you're saying this,
- 1:00:19Speaker 9: We're I'm merely filling a need. But these are Christians
- 1:00:23Speaker 9: who desperately want to read about the God who loves
- 1:00:25Speaker 9: them and understand his will for their lives. This is
- 1:00:28Speaker 9: my colleague building. He is in Porta, Prince Haiti.
- 1:00:31Speaker 29: It's so sad because you can see violence everywhere. Each
- 1:00:36Speaker 29: day when I go, I would I say God is
- 1:00:39Speaker 29: my last day. Every day is my last day. When
- 1:00:42Speaker 29: my wife decided to go, it's so.
- 1:00:46Speaker 30: Sad to say that in her last day.
- 1:00:49Speaker 29: I don't know.
- 1:00:49Speaker 12: When I go to the office, I go somewhere to
- 1:00:52Speaker 12: do some training.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: We do have governments. They can decide to stop that. Yeah,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: that's a big deal.
- 1:00:57Speaker 9: And then when the government can't protect your pretty much
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: on your own, Kevin, there there's misunderstanding that Christians have
- 1:01:03Speaker 9: access to a lot of money. It simply is not true.
- 1:01:06Speaker 9: They live in extreme poverty. They minister from a place
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: of at least a material poverty. Right, spiritually they're rich.
- 1:01:14Speaker 9: But you know there's a church that utilized study materials
- 1:01:17Speaker 9: and Bibles that you know this family has sent in
- 1:01:20Speaker 9: the past. And one of the deacons and his wife
- 1:01:23Speaker 9: were kidnapped, right, they were held for ransom. When the
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: ransom could not be paid, they actually murdered the deacon.
- 1:01:29Speaker 9: They let the wife go knowing that payment would not come.
- 1:01:31Speaker 9: But you know that hits home for us. And you know,
- 1:01:34Speaker 9: I asked Bill I said, building no Bible. He's had
- 1:01:36Speaker 9: a robust ministry in Haiti for many, many years. I said,
- 1:01:39Speaker 9: you know, how do you stay encouraged in the midst
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: of all that violence?
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: He said, Michael, two things. Number One, my wife and me,
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: we love Haitian creole cooking. He said, we will gather
- 1:01:50Speaker 9: people at a large party. Will will celebrate with lots
- 1:01:53Speaker 9: of food. He said, that's the first thing we do.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: He said.
- 1:01:54Speaker 9: The second thing is we've learned to celebrate what God
- 1:01:58Speaker 9: is doing. I said, build a tell me how many
- 1:02:00Speaker 9: people in recent months have come to Christ. And Kevin,
- 1:02:03Speaker 9: I could hear him on the call kind of tabulated.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: He came back on.
- 1:02:06Speaker 9: He said, Michael, nine hundred and thirty two people have
- 1:02:09Speaker 9: said yes to Jesus through the Bible League study in
- 1:02:12Speaker 9: the last few months. He said, Michael, isn't that, you know,
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: in light of all the gang violence, right, the kidnappings,
- 1:02:18Speaker 9: the ransoms that can't be paid, and then harm comes
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: to these believers. He said, isn't that amazing that God's
- 1:02:23Speaker 9: truly at work? I mean, that's something that we all
- 1:02:26Speaker 9: pray for. And Kevin, it's happening in places like Porta,
- 1:02:30Speaker 9: Prince Haitian.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: So again people like a build.
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: The believers down there are not asking for our pity,
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: They're not praying for our protections. What they're praying for
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: is what the precious word of God. I love the
- 1:02:41Speaker 9: specific number that he gave nine hundred and thirty two
- 1:02:44Speaker 9: people have said yes to Jesus again. They're praying for
- 1:02:47Speaker 9: the Bible two languages French and then Haitian, Creole and Kevin.
- 1:02:50Speaker 9: That's why we've gathered to do this kingdom work today
- 1:02:54Speaker 9: well and to supply the nine hundred and thirty two Bibles.
- 1:02:58Speaker 9: If you just that real quickly, it's about forty six
- 1:03:02Speaker 9: hundred dollars. And friends, maybe one of you operate a
- 1:03:06Speaker 9: company that you're looking to really make a difference in
- 1:03:08Speaker 9: how your company allocates its charitable Giving a forty six
- 1:03:12Speaker 9: hundred dollars gift to Bible League would help those nine
- 1:03:15Speaker 9: hundred and thirty.
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: Believers receive a Bible. And then if you take that
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: number and understand that for every Bible that's given, there's
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: a miracle multiplier of twelve that could lead to the
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: eventual salvation of eleven thousand, one hundred and sixty people
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: just from the one Bible League study that has been
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: done with these, with these people who are now believers,
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: you could eventually end up impacting eleven thousand people for
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: the cause of Christ. And maybe you can't do anywhere
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: near that a gift of any size. Right now, Divide
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: it by five, that's how many Bibles you give. Multiply
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: it by twelve. That's the number of people that you're
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: going to impact when you do that. So here's the
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: number one, eight hundred yes word on ye s word.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: It's also very easy, super simple to just give through
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: the website that kevinshow dot com. That kevinshow dot com,

- 1:04:18Speaker 4: off one person of these ten thousand Bibles that can
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: be reached this year. And we're gonna ask you unapologetically
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: to do this without any hesitation, because giving the Bible
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: to people is one of the most important things.
- 1:04:32Speaker 12: We can do.
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: Eight hundred yes word one, eight hundred y ees word.

- 1:06:43Speaker 29: Hi.
- 1:06:43Speaker 23: This is Pharmacists Racelana with your pd Labs pharmacy update.
- 1:06:47Speaker 23: Peptides are predicted to be the next gold rush, but
- 1:06:49Speaker 23: what are they? Peptides are short chain amino acids and
- 1:06:53Speaker 23: typically injected like glps. They are the building blocks of
- 1:06:56Speaker 23: proteins and play crucial roles in various bio life functions.
- 1:07:00Speaker 23: Peptide medications can be naturally occurring or synthetically produced. Pdlabs
- 1:07:05Speaker 23: is proud to announce a breakthrough in the ability to
- 1:07:07Speaker 23: absorb peptides through the skin, not just injectables. The research
- 1:07:11Speaker 23: team at pdlabs Pharmacy has uncovered new solutions for chronic pain,
- 1:07:16Speaker 23: low energy and help with sleep without the side effects.

- 1:07:41Speaker 2: Remember you have a choice in healthcare.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: Here's something most people don't know.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: When Warren Buffett was just thirteen years old, he didn't
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: put his money into his savings account while other kids
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: were earning next to nothing at local banks. Buffett put
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: one hundred fourteen dollars into a little known investment. Today
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: that one hundred fourteen dollars would be worth over fifteen
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: million dollars. And it wasn't a risky trade. It wasn't
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: even insider knowledge. It was an account that's been around
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: since eighteen eighty eight, and over the last twenty five
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: years it's averaged twenty nine percent a year. That's what
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: happens when your money is allowed to compound. Compare that
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: to today's savings accounts paying less than half a percent
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: while inflation quietly eats away at your buying power. Buffett
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: understood early banks are great businesses, just not for savers.
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: If you'd like to see what some investors call the
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: twenty nine percent account, go now to account twenty nine
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: dot com. That's account the numbers two nine dot com. Again,
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: Account twenty nine dot com.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: Here he is from New York. That's Kevin.

- 1:09:15Speaker 4: guest will be in sitting in for me as one
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: of my guest hosts, and I'm so excited that she
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: gets to do it because I've wanted her to have
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: this chance to be my guest host for a long time.

- 1:09:37Speaker 4: like all you ladies. You all do such important work.
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: And I had to submit the list of who was
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: going to get to sit in for me to my
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: lovely bride and she gave you the biggest thumbs up
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: that so you're double approved all the way through. So
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: I hope you have fun next week sitting in for me.
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: There's a lot that you're working on, and we're going
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: to start hearing this phrase back to school a lot
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: over the next forty five days. So there's some things
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: that came out of I'm thinking it's the Big Beautiful Bill.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: There's some things related to tax holidays and other things
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: just kind of what would need what do we need
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: to be thinking in terms of back to school right now?
- 1:10:17Speaker 8: Absolutely well in the back to school shopping season has
- 1:10:20Speaker 8: already kicked off, and I actually did.
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: A selfiees moms know this, Dad's clueless. That wouldn't that
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: be like the week before September? But no, moms are
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: like mid July, it's on more.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: Not anymore.
- 1:10:32Speaker 8: Literally, I was in Target and some of the shelves
- 1:10:35Speaker 8: have already been cleared off of the school supplies.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: So we at Independent Women, we wanted.
- 1:10:41Speaker 8: To get ahead of the curve this year, and we
- 1:10:43Speaker 8: have put together a week long suite of information for parents,
- 1:10:47Speaker 8: particularly moms, but all parents on everything from that checklist
- 1:10:52Speaker 8: of you know, financial tools for your kids' educations, to
- 1:10:55Speaker 8: where are the sales?
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: Tax holidays.
- 1:10:57Speaker 8: We've got about seventeen states that are due them this year,
- 1:11:01Speaker 8: and we've got things around data privacy and also accessive
- 1:11:05Speaker 8: screen time because that's one of those issues that a
- 1:11:07Speaker 8: lot of schools are dealing with and parents are grappling with.
- 1:11:10Speaker 8: So what you can do about that?
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: So let's start with the shopping because that's where it
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: all kind of begins. And I do notice that they
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: start these sales earlier and earlier, and how can we
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: best maximize that kind of idea with the tax holidays,
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: et cetera.
- 1:11:27Speaker 8: Well, first off, you need to figure out when your state,
- 1:11:29Speaker 8: or even if your state has a sales tax.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: Holiday, they vary.
- 1:11:34Speaker 8: Maryland where I live, for example, has a two day
- 1:11:37Speaker 8: sales tax holiday.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: It's in late August.
- 1:11:40Speaker 8: Unfortunately, when frankly, most people have already done their shopping
- 1:11:43Speaker 8: all right.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: Picked over stuff is gone and you just have the
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: prom You.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: Just have a couple of highlighters left.
- 1:11:49Speaker 8: So that said, we have a full resource on our
- 1:11:51Speaker 8: website of every state and the dates and the items.
- 1:11:55Speaker 8: Because some items are our tax exempt. Some states are
- 1:11:58Speaker 8: just reducing the tax is on backpacks and rulers and clothing.
- 1:12:03Speaker 8: So it's good to figure out which what your state
- 1:12:05Speaker 8: is doing if they're doing anything. But I mean, frankly,
- 1:12:08Speaker 8: the first place you go, Kevin is in your closet.
- 1:12:12Speaker 8: Last year, you probably brought a lot of extra school
- 1:12:14Speaker 8: supplies and they haven't been finished. The kids maybe have
- 1:12:18Speaker 8: a couple of highlighters or a couple of gluesticks. Gather
- 1:12:21Speaker 8: that stuff together, figure out, okay, this is what I have,
- 1:12:24Speaker 8: and now now make your list based on what you
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: need and head out there. You could go online Amazon
- 1:12:31Speaker 8: Prime Day is gone, but that was also a big,
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: a big time I think over the next I would
- 1:12:36Speaker 8: say week or two weeks, you're going to see a
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: lot of sneaker sales and a lot of clothing sales. Frankly,
- 1:12:41Speaker 8: to get ahead of I think some of the shopping
- 1:12:45Speaker 8: sales holidays, and a lot of them are in August
- 1:12:48Speaker 8: and over weekends. Florida with the exception, Florida gives you
- 1:12:52Speaker 8: a whole month of sales tax holidays.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: So you know, again, Florida is the leader when it
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: came talking about stuff like that.
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: People are going to move there.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:13:04Speaker 8: But Jill taxes are a good thing. Sales tax I
- 1:13:06Speaker 8: mean holidays. Sales tax holidays are a good thing. And
- 1:13:09Speaker 8: I think we should be nudging our policy makers to
- 1:13:12Speaker 8: cut our sales taxes in general.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: So was there anything that the federal government did this
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: year in the big beautiful bill that are assisting families
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: in this season?
- 1:13:22Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:13:23Speaker 8: So when we think about our financial checklist, there are
- 1:13:26Speaker 8: three things that every family needs to start thinking about.
- 1:13:29Speaker 8: Number one, that Trump account. I believe I was on
- 1:13:31Speaker 8: to talk with you about those Trump accounts if you
- 1:13:34Speaker 8: had a baby that was born between twenty twenty five
- 1:13:36Speaker 8: and twenty or will be born before twenty twenty eight.
- 1:13:39Speaker 6: The end of it.
- 1:13:40Speaker 8: You get one thousand dollars grand right into a Trump account.
- 1:13:43Speaker 8: But every child under the age of eighteen can open
- 1:13:46Speaker 8: up a Trump account very simple on your phone. I
- 1:13:49Speaker 8: did it for two of my kids already. It took
- 1:13:51Speaker 8: me about thirty minutes. You need a Social Security number
- 1:13:55Speaker 8: for you and your child and a current address, and
- 1:13:57Speaker 8: they're able to match that information back to tax records,
- 1:14:01Speaker 8: which is really important to cut fraud the opportunity for fraud.
- 1:14:04Speaker 8: But these accounts are Ira accounts. You can contribute the
- 1:14:07Speaker 8: money grows, So everybody needs a tax a Trump account
- 1:14:11Speaker 8: for their child. Five twenty nine plans those are also
- 1:14:14Speaker 8: a compliment to Trump accounts. These are typically state based accounts,
- 1:14:19Speaker 8: but you can use them compared to the Trump accounts,
- 1:14:21Speaker 8: which are just used for you know, when you turn
- 1:14:23Speaker 8: your child turns eighteen and after five twenty nine plans
- 1:14:27Speaker 8: or K through twelve education expenses. And the One Big
- 1:14:30Speaker 8: Beautiful Bill actually expanded the types of expenses you can
- 1:14:34Speaker 8: use your five twenty nine money for. So now you
- 1:14:37Speaker 8: don't just have to be it doesn't have to be
- 1:14:39Speaker 8: private school education. You can have homeschool and you can
- 1:14:43Speaker 8: get your homeschool curriculum, your books, your online materials, all
- 1:14:47Speaker 8: of that can be used through.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: Your five twenty nine plans.
- 1:14:49Speaker 8: So that was actually another great change out of the
- 1:14:51Speaker 8: one big beautiful bill is.
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: The five to twenty nine. Is that what they referred
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: to as education savings accounts.
- 1:14:57Speaker 8: Esays similar similar, what kind of thing to five twenty
- 1:15:01Speaker 8: nine plans?
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: So what does five twenty nine? Why was it established?
- 1:15:06Speaker 8: It was a way for families to be able to
- 1:15:08Speaker 8: have some school choice when you think about it, So
- 1:15:11Speaker 8: it's really money that you could put aside for education
- 1:15:14Speaker 8: that is not traditional public school task free exactly. And
- 1:15:18Speaker 8: so your five twenty nine plans can be used for
- 1:15:21Speaker 8: college or it can be used for those expenses from
- 1:15:24Speaker 8: kindergarten all the way up to the twelfth grade. And
- 1:15:27Speaker 8: they've been expanding and what you can use them for.
- 1:15:29Speaker 8: And I think that flexibility in five twenty nine is
- 1:15:33Speaker 8: really great until your child turns it becomes an adult.
- 1:15:36Speaker 8: And so that's what we're seeing some of those additional
- 1:15:38Speaker 8: changes to meet the different types of students, where they
- 1:15:41Speaker 8: are and how they're learning.
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: Where do you apply for the five twenty nine plans?
- 1:15:44Speaker 8: Typically a lot of states have five twenty nine plans
- 1:15:46Speaker 8: and some investment companies. Can you can also open them
- 1:15:49Speaker 8: through that vehicle as well, but you put your money
- 1:15:52Speaker 8: in there.
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: They lock a Trump account where you've got to register
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: with the government.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: No different from a Trump account.
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, very interesting. Well, there's a lot of people
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: that you know, this comes up every year, but the
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: cost of childcare and pre school and post school and
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: all the rest. What are some things you're encouraging families
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: to consider as that relates to the school year.
- 1:16:18Speaker 8: Well, some kids are not quite ready for kindergarten, they're preschoolers,
- 1:16:23Speaker 8: or they're just babies, and so you know, look for
- 1:16:25Speaker 8: the different options that are available. You've got daycare, You've
- 1:16:29Speaker 8: got in home care. For some people, hiring a nanny
- 1:16:32Speaker 8: and a babysitter is a great.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: Way to do that.
- 1:16:35Speaker 8: By the way, the one big Beautiful bill takes off
- 1:16:37Speaker 8: that VENMO tax that was being attached to you know, any.
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: Insane like anybody made more than six hundred dollars in
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: gig earnings had to report And I got so irritated
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: at having to every time we paid a babysitter, like
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: go in and fill out the extra information about I
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: just want to pay the babysitter and send her on
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: our way, like, well, that's all part of it.
- 1:17:00Speaker 8: I mean, for a lot of families, childcare is not
- 1:17:02Speaker 8: just sending a child to daycare. Childcare could be you're
- 1:17:05Speaker 8: working remotely for a couple of hours, or maybe you
- 1:17:08Speaker 8: have a babysitter for a few hours while you're taking
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: professional meetings. And so, you know, it's important that we
- 1:17:13Speaker 8: don't think that just a subsidy is going to solve
- 1:17:16Speaker 8: the childcare problem.
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: It will not.
- 1:17:18Speaker 8: When you force more government money into something, you actually
- 1:17:23Speaker 8: find fewer choices that you really want, and then it
- 1:17:27Speaker 8: raises the cost for everybody. So we kind of talk
- 1:17:30Speaker 8: about the fact that childcare is expensive not because there
- 1:17:33Speaker 8: isn't enough subsidies.
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: But because of too much regulation.
- 1:17:36Speaker 8: And so that's an area where we want to see deregulation, safe,
- 1:17:40Speaker 8: safe deregulation. But you know, common sense regulations around childcare,
- 1:17:46Speaker 8: in home care, things like that.
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: Well, and you know, one of the things that was
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: kind of and Trump has attacked this from both ends,
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: both from the end that you were just talking about
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: the Venmo tax kind of thing. But you know, well,
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: when you think about a working mom, who would she
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: most prefer to have watch her kids complete strangers, even
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: if the daycare is like really super highly rated and
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: you know, she's paying a lot of money for it.
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: But it's like they were trying to interfere so badly
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: in all of the minutia and the micro management of
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: how a person was going to have their children watched
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: that it felt kind of like Soviet Era like weirdness,
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: like you know, what business is it of yours? How
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: you know I send my kids to childcare?
- 1:18:37Speaker 8: It's that nanny state to another degree. And I mean
- 1:18:40Speaker 8: it's an interesting point because when we survey parents about
- 1:18:44Speaker 8: the types of childcare that they want, it is family.
- 1:18:48Speaker 8: It's the grandmother, it's the aunt that is their primary
- 1:18:51Speaker 8: choice of the types of people who they want to
- 1:18:54Speaker 8: watch their children. You know, manage daycare centers are not
- 1:18:58Speaker 8: really where parents want to go. But when the government
- 1:19:00Speaker 8: has to pick and choose, it is going to choose
- 1:19:02Speaker 8: the managed center because it can control through the regulations
- 1:19:07Speaker 8: what they do exactly. And if you don't meet the regulations,
- 1:19:10Speaker 8: you get shut down. Whereas if you take the regulations,
- 1:19:13Speaker 8: and that includes a lot of the indoctrination that we
- 1:19:17Speaker 8: were seeing through the K through twelve education driven down
- 1:19:20Speaker 8: now to the preschool level. That's what the Biden era
- 1:19:25Speaker 8: Tree childcare.
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: Was really all about.
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: I'm want to pick up on that thought and we
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: come back from this break. She's Patrice Sung. Look, I'm
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: Kevin mccullis. There are here.
- 1:19:33Speaker 31: Let's stick around for more of that. Kevin next, Well,
- 1:19:44Speaker 31: that's our news boy, I knew.
- 1:19:46Speaker 19: In Washington, Freddy Mack says that the average mortgage rate
- 1:19:50Speaker 19: for a thirty year fixed rate mortgage is wake rose
- 1:19:52Speaker 19: six point five eight percent. That is a third consecutive
- 1:19:55Speaker 19: weekly increase and takes those mortgage rates up to the
- 1:19:58Speaker 19: highest level they've been in just about one year according
- 1:20:02Speaker 19: to the latest numbers. It's making it more difficult for
- 1:20:05Speaker 19: many people to afford a mortgage at this time, and
- 1:20:08Speaker 19: it's also putting a damper on would be home sellers
- 1:20:11Speaker 19: from getting a good price for their home because nobody
- 1:20:13Speaker 19: can afford to borrow very much money. The next major
- 1:20:17Speaker 19: government wide funding question will be the end of the
- 1:20:20Speaker 19: fiscal year at the end of September, and the White
- 1:20:22Speaker 19: House's warning Democrats may use that deadline about two months
- 1:20:25Speaker 19: away now to try and push for another government shutdown.
- 1:20:28Speaker 19: Congress needs pass a total of twelve annual appropriations bills
- 1:20:32Speaker 19: in the meantime if they want to keep the government
- 1:20:34Speaker 19: up and running into fiscal year twenty twenty seven. On
- 1:20:37Speaker 19: Wall Street, the downsdown five hundred points.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: This is SRN News.
- 1:20:42Speaker 10: You've probably heard all those ads for life insurance. Just

- 1:22:54Speaker 2: Here he is from New York.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: That's Kevin.
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: McCalla, welcome back. It's that Kevin Show of prison wokes
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: with us from the Independent Women's Forum. What you were
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: just saying there at the end of the last segment
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: was so spot on, and it's it also spoke to
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: kind of like the minimalist idea that the left has
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: about both Americans and the American economy, because they thought
- 1:23:21Speaker 4: the way to grow the earnings of the federal government
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: was to go in and find all these gig workers
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: that supposedly weren't paying their taxes and try to try
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: to milk out, you know, these every last dime they
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: could get from these people. And it's it was basically like,
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: how can we take more from what's there? Instead of
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: thinking how can we open up the floodgates of earnings?
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: How can we make small businesses more profitable that that
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: mother who's opening that small business, who might depend on
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: a babysitter, might make both herself and the babysitter more
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: wealthy if she's able to launch the business idea that
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: she has, and the earnings of the off the business
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: and the taxes that come from the prosperity will far
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: outweigh the next three and a half percent you're going
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: to get from the babysitter for that two hours of
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: watching her kids. And it always spoke to me Patresea's
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: kind of this backwards way, Like it was very obvious
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: that the Trump administration the four years before saw the
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: opposite potential. They said, let's make the economy white hot.
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: Covid acide that that economy that he had in the
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: first year and a half to two years of that
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: first term, it literally went white hot in terms of
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: how revved up it was. Obama or the Biden team,
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: which was both mostly in Obama administration comes in and
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: reverses all of that progress and then says, now we're
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: going to drill down and like just really put the
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: screws to everybody that we possibly can, and that depresses
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: America's prosperity and even the optimism of trying new things.
- 1:25:00Speaker 8: Well, you know, when you look at business formations, small businesses,
- 1:25:03Speaker 8: I'm not talking yet the coffee shops, and I'm also
- 1:25:06Speaker 8: talking about people with their computers at home, or the
- 1:25:08Speaker 8: mom who decides to start making cookies in her kitchen
- 1:25:12Speaker 8: and sell them online. We have seen an explosion recently
- 1:25:17Speaker 8: in small business formation. People are getting into creating for
- 1:25:22Speaker 8: themselves in part because of AI.
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: Both maybe because they.
- 1:25:26Speaker 8: Worry there won't be opportunities, but more because AI has
- 1:25:29Speaker 8: made them more efficient and it's easier for them to
- 1:25:32Speaker 8: be able to do a lot of the tasks that
- 1:25:35Speaker 8: you know they would have had.
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: Regulations have been reduced too, and that's normally the environment
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: in which small businesses thrive.
- 1:25:41Speaker 8: Exactly, so deregulation when you cut, when you cut the
- 1:25:46Speaker 8: unnecessary burdensome regulations. And right now the Trump administration they
- 1:25:50Speaker 8: have a rule for every one new federal regulation, you
- 1:25:54Speaker 8: have to cut ten. They have mapped that out, and
- 1:25:56Speaker 8: I believe that right now at about twenty five regulation
- 1:26:00Speaker 8: out for every new one implemented in the federal Register.
- 1:26:03Speaker 8: That's amazing because now that's saying we are unhandcuffing small
- 1:26:08Speaker 8: businesses in America. We're saying to you, if you have
- 1:26:11Speaker 8: an idea, if you have a dream, if you have
- 1:26:13Speaker 8: a passion, go run with it. The government doesn't have
- 1:26:16Speaker 8: to be a stumbling block in the way. And so,
- 1:26:19Speaker 8: I mean it's a different ethos, but it trickles down
- 1:26:23Speaker 8: into how regular regulators at every level, from your local
- 1:26:27Speaker 8: government to the federal government are treating the businesses that
- 1:26:31Speaker 8: are out there, the gig workers that are out there,
- 1:26:33Speaker 8: the small entrepreneurs, the people who are just side hustling
- 1:26:36Speaker 8: take dropping off groceries just to make a couple extra
- 1:26:40Speaker 8: hundred bucks for their family budget. All of this happens
- 1:26:43Speaker 8: because of deep regulation, so that innovation can move forward
- 1:26:48Speaker 8: and that entrepreneurial spirit is unleashed in regular Americans.
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: It's a new age in terms of screen tam So
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: what's some like what do we need to know about
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: how to help manage it well?
- 1:26:58Speaker 8: First, parents, you have to be really active when it
- 1:27:01Speaker 8: comes to the screen time at home. But we're also
- 1:27:03Speaker 8: working on what happens at the screen time and the
- 1:27:05Speaker 8: school level. So at home some tips. First off, you
- 1:27:08Speaker 8: can set limits and time limits through your computer, your app,
- 1:27:12Speaker 8: your phone, and the directly in the apps as well,
- 1:27:15Speaker 8: so that they shut off they stop working. Maybe you
- 1:27:18Speaker 8: set a rule in your house that at nine o'clock,
- 1:27:20Speaker 8: the apps are left outside in the basket on the
- 1:27:22Speaker 8: console table. I think parents really do need to take
- 1:27:26Speaker 8: that first step and that ownership. I take my boys
- 1:27:29Speaker 8: I've had after about an hour, I give them some
- 1:27:31Speaker 8: time to watch cartoons.
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: Or play games, but after that they're reading.
- 1:27:35Speaker 8: And we need it to as parents, to be empowered,
- 1:27:38Speaker 8: but also to know we are the frontline when it
- 1:27:40Speaker 8: comes to what our kids are doing online, how much
- 1:27:42Speaker 8: time they're spending online.
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: We own that.
- 1:27:45Speaker 8: But then there is a role here that government is playing.
- 1:27:48Speaker 8: And we saw during the pandemic the Biden administration utilize
- 1:27:52Speaker 8: some different federal programs and money to be able to
- 1:27:55Speaker 8: give out a lot of technology to schools.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: With it, I would say a good intention of.
- 1:27:59Speaker 8: Insuring that kids education wouldn't be disrupted by the pandemic.
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: But they haven't taken that back.
- 1:28:06Speaker 8: And when you look at the surveys and the outcomes
- 1:28:08Speaker 8: for kids education, the screen time has not necessarily helped.
- 1:28:13Speaker 8: Having the chrome books, the laptops, the iPads they can help,
- 1:28:17Speaker 8: but they haven't been you know, the results have been mixed,
- 1:28:21Speaker 8: so to speak, and so a lot of schools are
- 1:28:23Speaker 8: moving away, including Los Angeles, which is the biggest school
- 1:28:26Speaker 8: district in the country.
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: They have moved away from. They've banned cell phones for
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: students in.
- 1:28:32Speaker 8: The school and a lot of systems are moving away
- 1:28:34Speaker 8: from that because they want to bring back in Kevin,
- 1:28:37Speaker 8: listen to this writing penmanship things that you know we
- 1:28:42Speaker 8: grew up with learning how to sign a chance.
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: I have my children have friends that do not know
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: how to write their signature. Yes and yes, well, my
- 1:28:52Speaker 4: oldest is a high schooler, so and he has friends
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: who cannot write their signature because they've not had to exactly.
- 1:28:59Speaker 8: And so I think I think there's a course correction
- 1:29:02Speaker 8: going on right now in education the Trump administration again,
- 1:29:06Speaker 8: they are trying to look at how we can pull
- 1:29:08Speaker 8: back on the accessive screen time in schools, take the
- 1:29:12Speaker 8: hawk slots off of school buses. Kids don't need to
- 1:29:15Speaker 8: have a government tax.
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: Pas don't even know they had them.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: Look they did.
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: Until I get an internet everywhere I need it, I
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: don't want it on the school bus. All right, patreesa Muka,
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: thank you as always, and be listening to that Kevin Show,
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: the radio version Tuesday of this coming week. She's going
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: to be with us and lots of special guests and
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: everything else. Thank you, Patrise, It's good to see you.
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: Thank Kevin, good to see you.
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: Thank Kevin McCulloch, coming right back, uncle, what hi, Kevin McCullough.
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: I don't know about you, but I've noticed that health
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: insurance has just blown the roof off in terms of expenditure,
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: just keeps getting higher, getting worse every single year. Less coverage,
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: more money. And that's when I met Vic of DFW
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: Direct Insurance. Everything changed. Saving four hundred dollars a month,
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: almost five thousand dollars a year on our health insurance.
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: Call Vic's cell number right now eight one seven four
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: four nine five five five seven. That's a one seven
- 1:30:09Speaker 4: four four nine five to five five seven.
- 1:30:12Speaker 31: Scott Jennings fearlessly fights back against the mainstream media of
- 1:30:16Speaker 31: the Scott Jennings Podcast.
- 1:30:17Speaker 32: So the Democratic message for the twenty twenty six midterm
- 1:30:21Speaker 32: is we don't love America.
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:30:24Speaker 32: The message from the left is, as long as people
- 1:30:27Speaker 32: that we don't like are allowed to win elections, we
- 1:30:31Speaker 32: hate America. It's a heck of a thing to be
- 1:30:33Speaker 32: running an election on we hate America.

- 1:34:00Speaker 17: Come on.
- 1:34:02Speaker 4: All right, Welcome back, Kevin mccallaugh. Glad to have you
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: with us. And you know, on Thursdays we like to
- 1:34:07Speaker 4: talk about parenting and we are grateful to have Shelley
- 1:34:13Speaker 4: Goldberg with us, who was a parenting reporter for New
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: York One for many years now she's just a really
- 1:34:19Speaker 4: happy grandma and she loves spending time with her grandkids
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: and her children still, but she's helping other people be
- 1:34:27Speaker 4: better parents with one idea each week, just something simple.
- 1:34:31Speaker 4: We don't want to overload you with stuff. And Shelley,
- 1:34:34Speaker 4: you and I were talking, I think we were talking
- 1:34:35Speaker 4: off air last week about how important it is to
- 1:34:38Speaker 4: help our kids understand money, and it's a major issue
- 1:34:43Speaker 4: in their life. But going through school and stuff, I
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: don't remember getting a lot of instruction on how to
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: be wise with it, and so that's something parents need
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: to do.
- 1:34:51Speaker 6: Kevin, you're absolutely right. And if you think that your
- 1:34:55Speaker 6: kids are learning this at school, you're absolutely crazy. Yeah,
- 1:35:00Speaker 6: And if they are, it's misinformation. Disinformation. This is critical
- 1:35:07Speaker 6: and what happens if our kids don't learn it, They're
- 1:35:10Speaker 6: going to have serious struggles with saving. There's going to
- 1:35:14Speaker 6: be a lot of tension in their lives, a lack
- 1:35:17Speaker 6: of savings, arguments with their wives over finances, depression, possible depression.
- 1:35:26Speaker 6: And by the way, these are the kinds of conversations
- 1:35:29Speaker 6: your children should be having with the people that are
- 1:35:31Speaker 6: dating when they're at that stage, so that they make
- 1:35:34Speaker 6: sure that they're both aligned with their values when it
- 1:35:37Speaker 6: comes to money before they make a decision to marry
- 1:35:41Speaker 6: that person, because you can get into real trouble with
- 1:35:45Speaker 6: your credit score, with debt, with a lack of savings
- 1:35:48Speaker 6: and arguments. So this is really critical and just the
- 1:35:51Speaker 6: way we spend time teaching our kids to read, getting
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: reading tutors, soccer coaches. We need to invest the same
- 1:36:00Speaker 6: amount of time teaching our kids the concepts about money,
- 1:36:04Speaker 6: the vocabulary words. You want to start early, Kevin, The
- 1:36:07Speaker 6: most important thing is start early repetition. This is not
- 1:36:10Speaker 6: a one and done, it's over and over again, real
- 1:36:13Speaker 6: life experiences. You want to couple that with concepts and
- 1:36:18Speaker 6: vocabulary words. So where would I start earnings? What is
- 1:36:22Speaker 6: earning mean? Teaching the kids about earning? So what do
- 1:36:25Speaker 6: I mean by that? For sure, there are things in
- 1:36:27Speaker 6: the the color household that they just have to do
- 1:36:30Speaker 6: because they're part of your family. But see if you
- 1:36:33Speaker 6: can find things where you could you will pay them,
- 1:36:36Speaker 6: call it and allow and call it whatever you want.
- 1:36:38Speaker 6: But maybe it's taking out the trash, mowing the lawn,
- 1:36:42Speaker 6: but something where you're compensating them for a skill or
- 1:36:45Speaker 6: something around the house and they get to put that
- 1:36:49Speaker 6: in a piggybank. Now we're the second concept, savings versus earnings.
- 1:36:53Speaker 6: Now it's savings. If it's going to be a piggy bank,
- 1:36:56Speaker 6: let it be a clear piggybank so the kids can
- 1:36:58Speaker 6: see the money, the quarters, the dimes, the dollars actually
- 1:37:02Speaker 6: accumulating inside that piggy bang. Then it's spending. How are
- 1:37:07Speaker 6: they going to choose to spend that money? They're going
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: to make foolish decisions at the beginning, but that's how
- 1:37:12Speaker 6: they're going to learn. But you want them to learn
- 1:37:14Speaker 6: when there are five, six, eight, nine, ten, not when
- 1:37:18Speaker 6: they're thirty five. Take them shopping with you. Let them
- 1:37:22Speaker 6: see that mom buys one jar of tomato sauce over
- 1:37:25Speaker 6: another because it's less expensive. Let's ask your kids to
- 1:37:30Speaker 6: estimate when you get to the checkout counter, how much
- 1:37:33Speaker 6: do they think everything is going to cost?
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: Place store?
- 1:37:36Speaker 6: With your kids. With older kids, you want to talk
- 1:37:39Speaker 6: about credit and what the danger of a credit card,
- 1:37:44Speaker 6: what a credit card actually does. You want to teach
- 1:37:47Speaker 6: kids about debt and about budgeting. So sit down with them,
- 1:37:52Speaker 6: Kevin and show them how you budget. What do you
- 1:37:55Speaker 6: set aside each month for bills you don't have to
- 1:37:58Speaker 6: show them the exact dollar, amun. But you can show
- 1:38:01Speaker 6: them mom and dad, and we put aside money kids,
- 1:38:04Speaker 6: for the rent, for food, you know, for the car payments,
- 1:38:09Speaker 6: and then the other stuff. I mean, it's you know,
- 1:38:11Speaker 6: there's a wonderful category of need versus wants. This is
- 1:38:15Speaker 6: what we need, boys and girls. We need the food,
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: we need the clothes, we need the shelter. We need
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: the car, but we would like we want to have
- 1:38:25Speaker 6: a new couch, but we don't really need one. We
- 1:38:27Speaker 6: would like a new car, but we don't really need one.
- 1:38:29Speaker 6: We would like to go to Italy, but we don't
- 1:38:32Speaker 6: really have to go. So need versus wants very very critical.
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: When kids are older, or maybe when they're even younger,
- 1:38:39Speaker 6: get them used to going in a bank, show them
- 1:38:41Speaker 6: a bank statement, let them talk to the banker, Teach
- 1:38:44Speaker 6: them about investments, taxes, tax implications, filing penalties. Have the
- 1:38:50Speaker 6: right friends around you, Kevin, people who can have discussions
- 1:38:55Speaker 6: with their kids about finance. Maybe you know it's an account.
- 1:39:01Speaker 6: You also want to make sure that you share with
- 1:39:03Speaker 6: your kids those stories where finances affected someone's life. Maybe
- 1:39:09Speaker 6: Uncle Ned got into trouble, you know, with his spending
- 1:39:13Speaker 6: and had to sell the family farm. Share those stories
- 1:39:16Speaker 6: with your kids when they're older so they can see
- 1:39:19Speaker 6: what happens if you don't have financial literacy. Be a
- 1:39:22Speaker 6: great role model, and I think that also keep in
- 1:39:26Speaker 6: mind you want to consistently think of ways to help
- 1:39:29Speaker 6: your kids to think about ways to make money. So
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: again it's the vocabulary words, it's real life experiences, and
- 1:39:38Speaker 6: you being a great role model. Kevin, your thoughts.
- 1:39:41Speaker 4: I think all of this is excellent, barely scratching the
- 1:39:46Speaker 4: surface on all of it. The most important thing I
- 1:39:48Speaker 4: think that we said in this discussion thus far is
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: to start early. And I will say out of personal
- 1:39:56Speaker 4: regret that you know, that's one those things that my
- 1:40:01Speaker 4: parents did not did not do with me early enough,
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: In fact at all, I don't I don't remember certainly
- 1:40:09Speaker 4: my schooling didn't do anything on money or how to
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: manage or you know, think about money. But my parents
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: really didn't either. I guess the one thing that I
- 1:40:21Speaker 4: knew about my mom and dad is that they were
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: consistent Tithers. So like I knew that Dad took the
- 1:40:27Speaker 4: first amount of whatever we earned as a family, and
- 1:40:31Speaker 4: he always, you know, gave ten percent to God. But
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: Aside from that, he didn't really teach me anything about investing,
- 1:40:39Speaker 4: didn't teach me anything about long term savings and thinking,
- 1:40:44Speaker 4: you know, further down the road. And I think that's
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: part of what I think part of getting the kids
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: to help get it right is to help them to
- 1:40:52Speaker 4: think long term. So we've tried to make some adjustments
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: in the McCullough household, and that is that when we
- 1:41:00Speaker 4: do the chore thing Jonathan does recycle, James does trash,
- 1:41:04Speaker 4: you know, there's a certain incentive to keep rooms neat
- 1:41:07Speaker 4: and that sort of thing. So and I think that
- 1:41:11Speaker 4: I think that's reasonable and responsible. But how do I
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: give the right job to every dollar that I have
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: and making sure that it's doing what he needs to do. So, Shelley,
- 1:41:21Speaker 4: we're gonna have to talk about this some more because
- 1:41:22Speaker 4: we're out of time and there's so much more that
- 1:41:24Speaker 4: we could.
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: Discuss, so much to be continued, for sure, Thank you.
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: Calvin McCullough, coming right back. Don't go anywhere.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: Let's stick around for more of that. Kevin.
- 1:41:36Speaker 4: Next, you know, when you've been struggling with the decision,
- 1:41:44Speaker 4: but you just finally have that eye popping moment that
- 1:41:46Speaker 4: says you're going to decide now. That hit me when
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: I saw the number two sixty six on my bathroom scale.
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: Calvin McCullough here, I didn't want to be at that
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: number at fifty six years old. I want to be lean,
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: I want to be active, I want to be healthy
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: for my kids, and so I committed to doing something
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: about it. And that's why two weeks ago I started
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: my PhD Weight loss. PhD Weight Loss of Nutrition is

- 1:42:37Speaker 4: the scale scares you. Eight six four six four four
- 1:42:40Speaker 4: nineteen hundred. So I knew I'm Bob Agnew in Washington.
- 1:42:47Speaker 19: Mortgage rates on the thirty year fix now up to

- 1:42:52Speaker 19: consecutive weekly increase puts those rates now just about as
- 1:42:55Speaker 19: high as they were one year ago. The US military

- 1:44:25Speaker 10: unless you're young and healthy, you got to call Big

- 1:44:48Speaker 1: Serving it up with a no drenth middle. It's that
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: cabinet show.
- 1:44:58Speaker 33: When it came time to to give out Bibles, the
- 1:45:01Speaker 33: Bible presentation, it is hard to describe the joy. We
- 1:45:05Speaker 33: were with a group of women who were receiving their
- 1:45:07Speaker 33: first Bibles and they were dancing around the room with
- 1:45:11Speaker 33: crazy excitement over receiving their first Bibles. It was just
- 1:45:14Speaker 33: such a fun time and it really spoke to their
- 1:45:19Speaker 33: newfound passion for Jesus.
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: We have over the years that we've done this, I've
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: heard people weep. I've heard people wail, I've heard people
- 1:45:29Speaker 4: delight in dance. I've heard people laugh. These are some
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: of the reactions of immense and intense joy and gratitude
- 1:45:39Speaker 4: that come out of people when they are given those Bibles.
- 1:45:41Speaker 4: And Michael Woolworth, I want to know what is your
- 1:45:44Speaker 4: opinion as to why it derih It delivers such emotion
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: for these people when they receive them.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: Well, I've traveled the world, Kevin.
- 1:45:53Speaker 9: We have friends in fund those trips, right, been able
- 1:45:56Speaker 9: to come back and share the reaction, you know, when
- 1:45:58Speaker 9: they find out there is a God who loves them.
- 1:46:01Speaker 9: You know, again, if if you've left you know one
- 1:46:03Speaker 9: of the isms we've talked about today over the course
- 1:46:05Speaker 9: of our time together, right, and you come to know
- 1:46:08Speaker 9: there's a God who loves you right as a plan
- 1:46:10Speaker 9: for your life. Right, there's promises that you can claim,
- 1:46:13Speaker 9: there's strength for the journey that you need, especially if
- 1:46:16Speaker 9: you live in a place where you're persecuted, right to
- 1:46:19Speaker 9: finally hold that Bible, Kevin, I've been in places where
- 1:46:22Speaker 9: the pastor was the only one in the congregation to
- 1:46:25Speaker 9: have a Bible. How do you turn your congregants into
- 1:46:28Speaker 9: faithful Bereans, Jim, Remember Paul singled out, you know the
- 1:46:32Speaker 9: the Beoreans in the New Testament, right, they were faithful.
- 1:46:35Speaker 9: Why they didn't merely take what they heard at face value.
- 1:46:38Speaker 9: They used the scriptures they had available to them at
- 1:46:40Speaker 9: the time, and they were able to verify what they
- 1:46:43Speaker 9: were hearing as one as the gospel truth, if you will.
- 1:46:46Speaker 9: Paul called them out as faithful Bereans. So again, every
- 1:46:49Speaker 9: five dollars gift today is one.
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: It's the answer to the.
- 1:46:51Speaker 9: Prayer of a waiting believer who's again not praying for
- 1:46:54Speaker 9: our pity or for protection. They're praying for the precious
- 1:46:57Speaker 9: Word of God. Let me just give you a handful
- 1:46:59Speaker 9: of names as we wrap up this hour today, Kevin.
- 1:47:02Speaker 9: Why she is in communist China. She and her husband
- 1:47:04Speaker 9: of Rice Patty farmers. They have two children they want
- 1:47:07Speaker 9: to raise them in the ways of the Lord in
- 1:47:09Speaker 9: the country that fiercely opposes the Gospel. They're praying for
- 1:47:12Speaker 9: a Bible in China. Alicia is in Madagascar, Africa. That's
- 1:47:16Speaker 9: the island nation just off the now southeast to a
- 1:47:19Speaker 9: part of that continent. She's a widow, she has three children. Again,
- 1:47:22Speaker 9: she wants to lead her family in the ways of
- 1:47:25Speaker 9: the Lord. She's praying for a Bible. And then, Kevin,
- 1:47:27Speaker 9: some of your wonderful listeners doing something about it today.
- 1:47:30Speaker 9: Barbara of Brooklyn said, I'm in at thirteen Bibles. Lyle
- 1:47:34Speaker 9: of New York City said, Michael, Kevin count me in
- 1:47:37Speaker 9: a gift of one hundred dollars to take care of
- 1:47:39Speaker 9: twenty waiting believers today. And I'm thinking of Isaiah fifty
- 1:47:42Speaker 9: two as we wrap things up. How beautiful are the
- 1:47:45Speaker 9: feet of those who send good news, Kevin. That really
- 1:47:48Speaker 9: characterizes your listening family, who over the years has given
- 1:47:52Speaker 9: so sacrificially right to look even half a world away
- 1:47:55Speaker 9: to send waiting believers exactly what they're praying for. And
- 1:47:59Speaker 9: that is thene that is so that is so encouraging.
- 1:48:03Speaker 4: And friends, I just want to ask you, don't be
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: caught left behind here, get in early, pray hard. We
- 1:48:11Speaker 4: have a big goal. There's ten thousand people on the
- 1:48:14Speaker 4: list to receive bibles. Three hundred here, one thousand over there,
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: fifty over here, five here, twelve there, whatever the amount
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: is that you can do. If you can do twenty bibles,
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: that's one hundred dollars gift. If you can do sixty bibles,
- 1:48:29Speaker 4: that's a three hundred dollars gift. And I think that
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: that because of that, we could lead a revival around
- 1:48:35Speaker 4: the world by making sure that Bibles got into the
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: hands of the people that desperately need it but they
- 1:48:41Speaker 4: don't have access to it. Don't fault to their own
- 1:48:43Speaker 4: They're born in a place different and separate from where
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: you are. Who got to pick you to grow up
- 1:48:50Speaker 4: in a place where Bibles were easy to come by
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: and easier to sometimes ignore or disregard. These believers that
- 1:48:56Speaker 4: we're talking about, do not think about the Bible that way.
- 1:48:59Speaker 4: They are desperate for it, they don't have access to it.
- 1:49:03Speaker 4: And my pleading with you today is help us get
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: to that ten thousand Bible mark, because there are just
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: that many people and more that so desperately want to
- 1:49:12Speaker 4: have a copy for themselves. One eight hundred yes word
- 1:49:15Speaker 4: one eight hundred yes word or that kevinshow dot com.
