- 1:44Speaker 3: then I'll change the four to five.
- 1:46Speaker 5: That's actually that's uh, that's how many shows we've done
- 1:50Speaker 5: without an accident.
- 1:52Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Oh, okay, great, great, it's right.
- 1:56Speaker 2: We're bound to have an accident soon.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Yeah, so you guys are you guys are frozen to me?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you're frozen.
- 2:02Speaker 5: You're frozen frozen.
- 2:07Speaker 3: We're all pointing at each other like those uh fo
- 2:09Speaker 3: Spider Man.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, he wants to he wants to build a snowman.
- 2:13Speaker 2: He's so frozen.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Oh my god, who is that is that? Louis Armstrong
- 2:17Speaker 5: in the upper left corner?
- 2:19Speaker 2: You, I know, yeah, you're like, there's a Daniel. I know,
- 2:23Speaker 2: man myself.
- 2:27Speaker 5: What a wonderful world.
- 2:30Speaker 2: The thing is, this is better. This is much better
- 2:33Speaker 2: than just a few days.
- 2:34Speaker 5: I know.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's awful.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Your voice is deep. You sound like you should be
- 2:39Speaker 5: telling someone their house has no honor, has no honor. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:43Speaker 5: sure your house has.
- 2:46Speaker 2: You attack.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Well when you're sick, you're really good at making those
- 2:51Speaker 3: kling on you puttack right. I want to I'm hungry,
- 2:56Speaker 3: I want some.
- 2:58Speaker 5: You're still frozen? Are we still frozen? Yeah?
- 3:01Speaker 3: Everybody's still frozen.
- 3:03Speaker 2: We want to get out and get back in.
- 3:06Speaker 3: If anybody is in the chat, are you or just get.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Get you'll get out and get back in.
- 3:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna try and use your mirror, use your mirrors.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Oh man, how you been h Yeah.
- 3:28Speaker 5: You know, skipped a week?
- 3:30Speaker 2: Skip?
- 3:31Speaker 5: Uh, I feel like it's been more. Well, we skipped,
- 3:35Speaker 5: we skipped a week and then I don't think I
- 3:37Speaker 5: was on the week before, that's right, Yeah, something I
- 3:40Speaker 5: can't remember why, but I wasn't on the week before.
- 3:43Speaker 5: So yeah, it's been a minute and a half.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Now we're here.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Other than being sick, how are.
- 3:50Speaker 2: You, I'm good. I I went down to California hung
- 3:54Speaker 2: out with family. I'm pretty sure I got them sick.
- 3:56Speaker 2: So that's great.
- 3:57Speaker 5: Nice. You know when it's nice when you bring a gas.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Right, that's right, that's right. Yeah, yeah, No, it was fun.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It was a good time. So and now we've got
- 4:10Speaker 2: Thanksgiving around the corners, so yep, yeah, getting big plans
- 4:15Speaker 2: for that.
- 4:17Speaker 5: We're going to my parents and my brother and his
- 4:21Speaker 5: family will be there, my sister and her family will
- 4:23Speaker 5: be there. And I don't know why we're going to
- 4:26Speaker 5: my parents because they after everybody moved out. They downsized,
- 4:30Speaker 5: so they're in a tiny little place. Yeah, so it's like,
- 4:33Speaker 5: why are we you know, why are we doing this year?
- 4:36Speaker 5: If mom wants to cook, like come cook at my
- 4:38Speaker 5: house where this place is to sit right right? But yeah,
- 4:44Speaker 5: you know, mom wants to host Thanksgiving, So mom gets
- 4:47Speaker 5: the host Thanksgiving.
- 4:48Speaker 2: There you go, yeah, well that's cool. We should probably
- 4:53Speaker 2: get to the Star Trek.
- 4:54Speaker 5: News then yeah, that's this guy.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Let's go, okay, Star Trek News. All right, so our
- 5:03Speaker 2: first news story, I know almost our first new story
- 5:11Speaker 2: comes us from trekmovie dot com and this has been
- 5:14Speaker 2: making the rounds. Scott was the one who pointed it
- 5:16Speaker 2: out to us. Uh, there is a new Captain Kirk
- 5:20Speaker 2: short film called Unification. It's about an eight minute short film.
- 5:25Speaker 2: It was released on the thirtieth anniversary of Star Trek
- 5:28Speaker 2: Generations and it's kind of neat. I think I can
- 5:33Speaker 2: play a little bit of it without too much of
- 5:36Speaker 2: a YouTube problem, So let me play a little bit here.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I'll just kind of skip around. But what's really cool
- 5:42Speaker 2: is they used CGI and and actors and prosthetics to
- 5:48Speaker 2: recreate old school Captain Kirk. Yeah, there he is looking pretty.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Good and that's Sabac. I think that's like old.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yeah Sabac right, yea, yeah, I think is So.
- 6:01Speaker 5: It's interesting they went with Robin Curtis and.
- 6:03Speaker 3: It was actually I got to give credit what credit
- 6:05Speaker 3: is due. It was from our Facebook group, Kevin I
- 6:09Speaker 3: can't pronounce his last name, l U l e u
- 6:12Speaker 3: n G. He's the one that first posted it.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Oh, okay, okay, and let me know about it.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Is this a fan film as a sanctioned what you know?
- 6:21Speaker 5: What is this?
- 6:22Speaker 2: This is from the Roddenberry archives. Okay, but they've used
- 6:27Speaker 2: they've produced a few of these, so if you look
- 6:30Speaker 2: on this article, there's a few other movies that they
- 6:33Speaker 2: have made in the past. So this, this news story
- 6:38Speaker 2: will be in the show notes so people can watch
- 6:41Speaker 2: these videos that they want to watch them. But yeah,
- 6:43Speaker 2: we're just every now and then they'll produce one of
- 6:45Speaker 2: these things.
- 6:46Speaker 5: And this is this is like Kirk's experience after his death.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Is that is that what's supposed to be happening here?
- 6:53Speaker 2: It's from what I've read, it's just like a celebration
- 6:57Speaker 2: of Kirk for the for the anniversary.
- 7:00Speaker 3: But yes, it's got that feel to it.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Yeah, this is no no, it's not that.
- 7:07Speaker 3: But yes, but yet it is. No, Yeah, I I
- 7:11Speaker 3: agree with Daniel, he's one wrong, got it? Yeah, okay,
- 7:16Speaker 3: I just wanted to avoid any confusion.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Fantastic. I'm glad I'm wrong.
- 7:21Speaker 3: No, no, no, he's right, he's right. It's it's just
- 7:24Speaker 3: a tribute. But it's got the feel like you can
- 7:28Speaker 3: in your mind's eye, in your in your head canon,
- 7:31Speaker 3: you can kind of see it as Kirk going from
- 7:34Speaker 3: purgatory into the great beyond.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Right, yeah, okay, but.
- 7:38Speaker 3: It's about ten minutes long. There's no dialogue. There doesn't
- 7:42Speaker 3: really need.
- 7:43Speaker 2: To be, yeah, because then you get that weird Shatner
- 7:48Speaker 2: AI voice.
- 7:49Speaker 5: So right where they where? They just cut a bunch
- 7:54Speaker 5: of Priceline dot com commercial right together?
- 7:56Speaker 3: Right? Right? Yeah, yeah, it appears that I have died.
- 8:03Speaker 5: I'll tell you what the AI voices are get wha, yes, okay,
- 8:07Speaker 5: the AI voices are getting are getting crazy.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, they're getting pretty good.
- 8:12Speaker 5: You know, half the ads, half the ads I see
- 8:15Speaker 5: on YouTube are for some stupid product and the ad
- 8:19Speaker 5: is narrated by Joe Rogan. But it's not Joe Rogan, right,
- 8:24Speaker 5: but you could tell it's supposed to be Joe Rogan,
- 8:27Speaker 5: and you know, part of me is like, how is
- 8:29Speaker 5: he not suing every one of these every one of
- 8:32Speaker 5: these companies for using it.
- 8:33Speaker 2: It's like it's whack a mole man. There's so many
- 8:35Speaker 2: of these that pop up. By the time he gets
- 8:38Speaker 2: them to court, they're already gone.
- 8:39Speaker 3: You know, But how do you prove it too? I mean, yeah,
- 8:42Speaker 3: you know, I bet I sound like somebody. I bet
- 8:46Speaker 3: I could sound like somebody famous. And who's to say
- 8:48Speaker 3: it's not my voice? I mean, people have been doing
- 8:51Speaker 3: parodies of voices for a long time SNL. I mean.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Yeah, but a parody and using someone's likeness to sell
- 8:58Speaker 5: a product two different things.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Right, they're probably towing a line, maybe going over it
- 9:03Speaker 3: a little bit. You're right.
- 9:05Speaker 2: There was a company that wanted to get Scarlett Johansson
- 9:09Speaker 2: to voice their AI and she said no, and then
- 9:11Speaker 2: they went and got to sound alike.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I mean that's different. That's different. Paying someone
- 9:22Speaker 5: to do a performance is not the same as having
- 9:25Speaker 5: a computer analyze your actual voice and then recreate it. Right.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the weird world we're living in now.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know. Some of these AI videos are
- 9:39Speaker 5: just yeah, it's crazy. You can't. You can't believe anything
- 9:44Speaker 5: unless you look at the thumbs.
- 9:45Speaker 2: We may be AI right now, who knows?
- 9:49Speaker 5: Look at my weird hands. AI. That's right.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Our next story comes tos from Game Rant and there
- 9:56Speaker 2: is some rumored movement on the next Star Trek prequel
- 10:01Speaker 2: movie over at Paramount. So this is the movie that
- 10:05Speaker 2: is set currently for a release in twenty twenty six.
- 10:10Speaker 2: It would be pre Calvin Timeline. So allegedly, according to
- 10:15Speaker 2: Scooper's the script is done. They have a script, they're
- 10:19Speaker 2: happy with it, and they are ready to move into
- 10:23Speaker 2: pre production starting next year with the release in twenty
- 10:27Speaker 2: twenty six.
- 10:29Speaker 5: This is you said some new you said, some new technology.
- 10:32Speaker 5: This is a true prequel in that they're going they're
- 10:35Speaker 5: going to release it five years ago.
- 10:36Speaker 2: That's right.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yep, I'm angry.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Why are you angry?
- 10:43Speaker 5: What are you angry about?
- 10:45Speaker 3: Nobody's asking for this?
- 10:49Speaker 5: You've been asleep for the last ten years. There are
- 10:52Speaker 5: tons of shows and movies coming out that literally no
- 10:55Speaker 5: one has asked for. Yeah, Disney, Disney, them are just
- 11:00Speaker 5: are just throwing these things, yeah at us.
- 11:04Speaker 3: I'm about to throw some things at them. Okay, let
- 11:08Speaker 3: me preface this by saying I love Enterprise. I love Enterprise,
- 11:10Speaker 3: but what was one of the worst performing Star Trek
- 11:14Speaker 3: franchises was Enterprise. They're making it a prequel to what
- 11:17Speaker 3: the original series? What was Enterprise? A prequel to the
- 11:20Speaker 3: original series? And nobody's asking for it and Discovery everybody
- 11:23Speaker 3: hated it except for the three people who are gonna
- 11:26Speaker 3: troll me in the comments. Nobody wants pre sequel, prequel crap,
- 11:32Speaker 3: we want post Picard stuff, right.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Okay, I'm strong beard anger, I like it?
- 11:43Speaker 3: Am I wrong? Does? Does anybody that can hear the
- 11:46Speaker 3: sound of my voice?
- 11:47Speaker 5: Easy?
- 11:47Speaker 3: Disagree with me?
- 11:48Speaker 5: Easy? The Sun's Son's getting low, Son's getting real low.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, he's so angry now. So yeah, so
- 12:01Speaker 2: they're working on it. We don't have a clue what
- 12:03Speaker 2: it'll be about right now, other than it's setting up
- 12:06Speaker 2: the Federation, which that's what Enterprise was. So okay, yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 5: What if they're what if they're just trolling all of
- 12:17Speaker 5: us and it's and it's Enterprise season five?
- 12:22Speaker 3: Oh god, which people, that'd be great.
- 12:24Speaker 5: You've been as literally been asking for if it's twenty years.
- 12:27Speaker 3: If it was if it was Enterprise twenty years, you know,
- 12:32Speaker 3: post whatever. That'd be great if they got Scott Vacul
- 12:35Speaker 3: and a few other people to come back and this
- 12:36Speaker 3: is the this is the lives that we're doing now
- 12:39Speaker 3: and stuff. I would love that they'll never do it
- 12:42Speaker 3: because it would be great.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be great. But no, you're right, all right?
- 12:50Speaker 2: In our last news story, I wanna it's not really
- 12:53Speaker 2: a Star Trek story. But we talk about canon a
- 12:56Speaker 2: lot on this show, right, what what things are canon?
- 13:00Speaker 2: Why cannon matters and all that. Well, there was a
- 13:02Speaker 2: recent interview with James Gunn where he was talking about
- 13:06Speaker 2: the GCU canon and cannon overall in fiction, and I
- 13:12Speaker 2: wanted to get your guys' thoughts on that. So let
- 13:14Speaker 2: me play the clip and then we'll we'll talk about.
- 13:16Speaker 4: It does kind of matter anymore anyway?
- 13:20Speaker 6: Well, you know, one of the weird things to me
- 13:22Speaker 6: is is it none of this is real. It may
- 13:28Speaker 6: be alarming to people, but none of it is real.
- 13:31Speaker 6: It's all just stories that we're telling about characters, and
- 13:34Speaker 6: hopefully there's authenticity and truth to those stories because we
- 13:37Speaker 6: care about those stories. The characters, the actors and performers
- 13:41Speaker 6: and animators, they all care about these stories. But but
- 13:44Speaker 6: it's it's not.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Real, right, So yeah, sounds like a cop out to me.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Well, he's he's got he's got some big problems to
- 13:56Speaker 5: deal with, you think, right, He he as he has
- 14:01Speaker 5: essentially thrown away everything that was d C up until
- 14:07Speaker 5: the point that he took over, and I get it,
- 14:10Speaker 5: that's what he's there to do. But then he's also said, yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 5: but Peacemaker, the show that I just did right before this,
- 14:20Speaker 5: that's all that's all canon. Yeah, except that the Justice
- 14:23Speaker 5: League appears in the in the last episode. Yeah, like
- 14:28Speaker 5: he said of Peacemakers, Cannon and we're gonna we're gonna
- 14:32Speaker 5: deal with how some of it isn't. So I'm kind
- 14:37Speaker 5: of interested to see. You know, Jason Momoa as Aquaman
- 14:43Speaker 5: was in was in that last episode crazy Pants as
- 14:47Speaker 5: a Flash is in that episode. Henry Henry Cavill's stunt
- 14:54Speaker 5: double is in that episode as that version of Superman. So,
- 15:01Speaker 5: you know, short of them writing some scene where he
- 15:04Speaker 5: hallucinated that whole thing, which I guess they could probably
- 15:07Speaker 5: do that he just came out of a wicked battle
- 15:09Speaker 5: he could hit on the head or something, sure, and
- 15:11Speaker 5: and and hallucinated these three superheroes, which who he's never
- 15:15Speaker 5: met them before. You know that he doesn't know exactly
- 15:18Speaker 5: what they look like. I mean, I guess they could.
- 15:20Speaker 5: That was all in his mind. I guess they could
- 15:22Speaker 5: do something like that. But it kind of If that
- 15:26Speaker 5: show wasn't so successful, so much more successful than it
- 15:31Speaker 5: was expected to be, I think I think it would
- 15:34Speaker 5: have been thrown out along with everything else.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, and that show was successful when yeah,
- 15:41Speaker 3: I mean it did it. On paper, it doesn't look
- 15:43Speaker 3: like something that should be successful, you know, nor rated.
- 15:48Speaker 5: I don't know if you remember, but I do. Yes,
- 15:54Speaker 5: I love John Cena, and I you know, I have
- 15:58Speaker 5: a I'm sorry, Daniel to defend. I have a pretty
- 16:02Speaker 5: low opinion of wrestling what all together? And I remember
- 16:08Speaker 5: I remember being.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Just after aw full gear.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Do what, Daniel.
- 16:15Speaker 5: I remember being ashamed of how much I was enjoying
- 16:18Speaker 5: Make Room in the Basement's cut that show, and and
- 16:21Speaker 5: you know I'm gonna watch it, but I can't talk
- 16:24Speaker 5: about it.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 16:29Speaker 3: I've written themselves into a corner.
- 16:31Speaker 2: No, I think they're gonna make it really easy. I
- 16:33Speaker 2: think someone's gonna point out, Hey, those other guys aren't
- 16:35Speaker 2: the Justice League. We know the Justice League and peace
- 16:37Speaker 2: Maker just says they all look like idiots or whatever
- 16:40Speaker 2: something like that, and that's that's how they write it off.
- 16:44Speaker 2: It's gonna be, yeah, it'll be that so dumb like that.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Or.
- 16:51Speaker 5: They're going to refilm that scene with the new versions.
- 16:59Speaker 5: It's gonna be like it's gonna be like, you know,
- 17:01Speaker 5: the first scene of Back to the Future too. I
- 17:02Speaker 5: was just I was just gonna say that the last
- 17:04Speaker 5: the last scene of Back to the.
- 17:07Speaker 3: They had to replace her with Elizabeth Shot. Yeah, because
- 17:10Speaker 3: they painted themselves into a corner with that final scenes.
- 17:14Speaker 5: James Gunn, if you're listening, that's what you gotta do.
- 17:19Speaker 3: I don't think James Gunn listened to the show. I
- 17:21Speaker 3: think his brother does.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Okay, is that who it is?
- 17:25Speaker 3: Ye? You know what James Gunn's brother is, right, Yes, Yes.
- 17:31Speaker 5: He's a little weasley looking guy.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Yeah, he literally plays the weasel.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Yeah right, yeah, yeah, he's like he's he's like the
- 17:42Speaker 5: next Clint Howard.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Jennif Fisher was married to one of those brothers. She
- 17:48Speaker 3: played him on the Office.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I thought she was married to uh.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Lee Kirk now, but uh she was married to uh
- 17:56Speaker 3: one of the yeah, one of the guns.
- 18:00Speaker 5: I thought she was married to, uh, the Asian FBI
- 18:04Speaker 5: agent from uh amp Man's Yeah, that's a deep cut.
- 18:10Speaker 3: For all m that is a deep cut. Yeah, BacT
- 18:13Speaker 3: when when when it was found out that he was
- 18:15Speaker 3: sexiest man alive, they were showing pictures of uh yeah
- 18:20Speaker 3: that the agent.
- 18:21Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, I couldn't remember his name.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Yeah, Sean Gunn, thank you.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Also, FYI Black Friday sales are going on Amazon
- 18:32Speaker 2: and a lot of Star Trek stuff is on sale,
- 18:35Speaker 2: a lot of the movies. Remember that big Pitcard Legacy collection,
- 18:39Speaker 2: the one that was like two hundred and fifty bucks
- 18:41Speaker 2: or whatever. Heck, yeah, yeah, that's down to one forty
- 18:44Speaker 2: now that's kind of yeah, it's ope, yeah yeah yeah.
- 18:50Speaker 2: But they have all sorts of deals, like you can
- 18:52Speaker 2: get the uh ten film collection, the first ten that
- 18:57Speaker 2: was normally fifty six dollars, it's down to forty. Now.
- 19:01Speaker 5: You know what's crazy. You go, you go into Walmart
- 19:03Speaker 5: or Target and they've they've got they've gotten rid of
- 19:05Speaker 5: just about all physical media except the incredibly overpriced sets
- 19:13Speaker 5: like those. Yeah, they still have all that stuff. It's
- 19:15Speaker 5: like no, no, no, you can't buy Gremlins for five dollars,
- 19:19Speaker 5: but you could buy all ten seasons of ER for
- 19:24Speaker 5: three hundred or something crazy like that.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, it's they're they're they're holding out for the fanatics.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Yeah, all three of them that haven't bottom already exactly. Yeah,
- 19:36Speaker 2: they've got a lot of our DVD sections still there
- 19:38Speaker 2: at our Walmart. But that's because there's a lot of
- 19:40Speaker 2: people that live in the mountains, so they come down
- 19:42Speaker 2: and buy physical media. So the mountain men that dude,
- 19:47Speaker 2: you see them, they show up and they've got like
- 19:49Speaker 2: three or four carts full of stuff because they come
- 19:52Speaker 2: down for their like monthly trip. Yeah, yeah, monthly trip.
- 19:56Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, they scan it all up. It's like
- 20:01Speaker 2: seven hundred dollars and wet it all up in the
- 20:03Speaker 2: SCV and back we go. Yeah, it's crazy. All right, Well,
- 20:11Speaker 2: let's get to our main topic. We've got some shows
- 20:15Speaker 2: to review.
- 20:17Speaker 5: Fun will now come out.
- 20:25Speaker 2: We've got two episodes of Stargic Lower Decks. We've got
- 20:31Speaker 2: five and six Stars eighty and Gods and Angels eighty.
- 20:38Speaker 5: You're cutting out. I don't know if you're scrolling, but
- 20:41Speaker 5: you're you're cutting outah quick.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Just scrolling, Daniel, I'm trying to read the the log line.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah, it says Ransom uses too much disinfectant gel. Well,
- 20:54Speaker 2: Mariner gets paranoid about curses.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Heck yeah, yeah, uh.
- 21:01Speaker 2: You guys want to take over on this. I don't
- 21:03Speaker 2: want to talk too much.
- 21:04Speaker 3: No, yeah, that's okay, you know it's it was a
- 21:07Speaker 3: filler episode. It takes place on Star bas eighty. We've
- 21:11Speaker 3: been to Star bass ad at the beginning of the season.
- 21:14Speaker 3: That's where the the alternate Mariner's mom was the in
- 21:18Speaker 3: the alternate uh, in the alternate universe, she was the
- 21:23Speaker 3: the commander of the station and it didn't turn out
- 21:25Speaker 3: too well for But yeah, there was a lot of
- 21:30Speaker 3: callbacks to two uh you know old They were using
- 21:35Speaker 3: like old Enterprise uniforms and they were using the Star
- 21:38Speaker 3: bas eighty is just a dump. It's just it's the back,
- 21:41Speaker 3: back back door of of Starfleet star bases. Yeah, they've
- 21:47Speaker 3: got there's a picture on the wall of there's a
- 21:49Speaker 3: picture up on the screen of everybody on the bridge
- 21:52Speaker 3: and Boimler is without a shirt. They had to they
- 21:55Speaker 3: had to use the disinfected line from the tagline is
- 21:59Speaker 3: from They couldn't use the regular transporters or when they did,
- 22:02Speaker 3: they didn't have the the biofilters in place, so they
- 22:05Speaker 3: had to they had to use the same kind of
- 22:07Speaker 3: gel that they used in that first episode of Enterprise
- 22:09Speaker 3: that DePaul and Trip had to rubble all over each other.
- 22:12Speaker 5: So of course they're all wearing the same style of
- 22:15Speaker 5: underwear that they wore two hundred years ago.
- 22:17Speaker 3: That's right, that's right, because underwear styles don't change at all.
- 22:21Speaker 3: But so, yeah, that was uh, that was Icky's And
- 22:27Speaker 3: Star Bas eighty is like full of like retro technology. Uh.
- 22:30Speaker 3: The commander of Starbas eighty, who's an all Orean, is
- 22:33Speaker 3: actually wearing the jumpsuit from Enterprise, and they they have
- 22:36Speaker 3: the same kind of like turbo lifts as the original
- 22:39Speaker 3: series where you have to grab the handle and tell
- 22:41Speaker 3: it where to go. And it's a neglected star Bas
- 22:44Speaker 3: so nothing works.
- 22:45Speaker 4: And.
- 22:48Speaker 5: And Boimler looks every episode he looks a little more
- 22:50Speaker 5: like Joe Dirt.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he's trying to grow his his little beard
- 22:56Speaker 3: and mustache there. But I, you know, this is a
- 23:01Speaker 3: filler episode. It was fine. I I feel like they
- 23:04Speaker 3: didn't have as many jokes in this one. There weren't.
- 23:08Speaker 3: To me, there weren't as many one liners, but as
- 23:12Speaker 3: as much as the previous episodes, and especially in the
- 23:15Speaker 3: next episode. But it was like it was a it
- 23:17Speaker 3: was a serviceable episode. I liked it.
- 23:22Speaker 5: What do you think, Dan, I think I watched it
- 23:27Speaker 5: a week and a half ago. Yeah, it didn't so so.
- 23:34Speaker 3: So give me, give me all, give me all the
- 23:36Speaker 3: plot points. I can't tell me everybody's name.
- 23:40Speaker 5: It was kind of forgettable. Yeah, I'm trying to remember
- 23:44Speaker 5: why they were there.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Oh didn't they They they needed a new part.
- 23:48Speaker 5: The ship blew a fuse and they had to And
- 23:51Speaker 5: their choice was we can limp it to star Base
- 23:53Speaker 5: eighty and be there in a couple of days, or
- 23:55Speaker 5: we can go to a regular star base and it'll be
- 23:57Speaker 5: seventy years and and uh they had to stop and
- 24:01Speaker 5: think about it for a minute. Yeah, that's that's how
- 24:04Speaker 5: bad they did not want to go to Starba. Say,
- 24:06Speaker 5: that's how much of it dumb. So this guy here,
- 24:09Speaker 5: the doctor, Yeah, he said, yeah, this so this was
- 24:14Speaker 5: a callback. He said, he got like a tarcanan uh,
- 24:19Speaker 5: Tarcanan virus or something. Right, that's the thing that yeah,
- 24:22Speaker 5: that's the thing that Jordi had that turned him into
- 24:25Speaker 5: a glowing glowing lizard person from.
- 24:30Speaker 3: The TG episode Identity Crisis.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I don't.
- 24:37Speaker 7: Yeah when when him and one of his former colleagues,
- 24:44Speaker 7: a sister like person to him, they both transformed into
- 24:49Speaker 7: lizard looking creatures that were bioluminescent and.
- 24:54Speaker 2: All right, from.
- 24:55Speaker 3: From parasite that they got. This was a TG episode.
- 24:58Speaker 3: I think it was like season I don't know, five ish.
- 25:02Speaker 2: If somebody puts which episode it is, I'll watch it
- 25:04Speaker 2: tonight because I'm not doing anything after the show.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Okay, yeahy from nineteen ninety one, so uh it was
- 25:14Speaker 3: uh yeah, it was just it was it was a
- 25:16Speaker 3: call like the The episode was about Jeordie and one
- 25:19Speaker 3: of his former colleagues and a and a in a
- 25:22Speaker 3: way mission they had years ago that affected them now.
- 25:25Speaker 5: So he started mutating all that Tom Paris, but he
- 25:28Speaker 5: didn't break the warp ten barrier, right right? All right?
- 25:35Speaker 2: So yeah, Jasmine says, a good episode.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I thought so.
- 25:41Speaker 5: I thought so.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Yeah. So the Star based eighty episode, it was fine.
- 25:48Speaker 2: It wasn't like nothing earth chattering, you know, I think
- 25:53Speaker 2: this is the one. Uh. They didn't mention the space
- 25:56Speaker 2: rifts this time, okay, but they did have you know
- 26:00Speaker 2: that that weird disease that I think that's going to
- 26:06Speaker 2: play into it too, like because this episode, in the
- 26:08Speaker 2: next one, they keep bringing up non corporeal beans. It's
- 26:14Speaker 2: the next piece of that space rifts, right. Yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Yeah. One of the things that we're talking about online
- 26:21Speaker 3: is that these are non poorial life forms made of
- 26:27Speaker 3: anaphasic energy, which is the same energy that that doctor
- 26:32Speaker 3: Crusher's boyfriend was made of in Everybody's favorite episode sub Rosa.
- 26:36Speaker 5: Oh yes, oh so hm, break out the candles people.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Heck yeah, bounch.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, and then the next episode was was it
- 26:57Speaker 2: Gods and Angels or something of Gods and angels were
- 27:01Speaker 2: an unknown force destroys starships and threatens galactic peace. Yes, yes,
- 27:10Speaker 2: where we had cubes versus spears.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, and produced a new character.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I didn't spout the Jordy lady.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I just noticed that she's been on before seeing
- 27:25Speaker 5: that early on.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Yeah, lot of a lot of blind people born in
- 27:30Speaker 3: the twenty fourth century, that's right. So we got a
- 27:35Speaker 3: new character and son Ali, and she is from She's
- 27:42Speaker 3: the grand descendant of the Zeus character from the original
- 27:48Speaker 3: series episode. I don't remember the name of the episode.
- 27:51Speaker 3: But there was an episode of the original series where,
- 27:53Speaker 3: of course the Enterprise came across Zeus and his folks,
- 27:59Speaker 3: his peeps and had a little adventure.
- 28:01Speaker 2: So have you seen that one yet?
- 28:05Speaker 3: You know, I'm ashamed to say I don't remember if
- 28:07Speaker 3: I did or not. Like all these all these horrible
- 28:10Speaker 3: episodes are starting to blood together, and I don't remember
- 28:12Speaker 3: if I'm like if I just saw pictures of it
- 28:15Speaker 3: or we actually saw I think it's a season two episode,
- 28:17Speaker 3: so I think I did see it, but oh my goodness.
- 28:22Speaker 2: And then Joe Beard is growing Joe dirt. Yeah, yep,
- 28:27Speaker 2: he's got a little bit what I got now.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Yeah, grow grown out the little bit of whisker hairs.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, a little bit.
- 28:35Speaker 3: This this episode had some good uh, some good jokes.
- 28:39Speaker 3: One of the jokes I caught early on was when
- 28:43Speaker 3: Rutherford called Boimler out for having the pad from the
- 28:47Speaker 3: alternate universe. Uh he Boyleer tries to play it off.
- 28:50Speaker 3: He's like, huh, you're a comedian, You're a regular. Ronald B. Moore,
- 28:54Speaker 3: who was, of course the h he was Sufficial Effects
- 28:57Speaker 3: Supervisor Next Gen Enterprise Voyage. Yeah, but I m dB
- 29:06Speaker 3: says that Boimler is also referring to a fictional twentieth
- 29:09Speaker 3: century comedian who was named after mister Moore. Oh oh.
- 29:14Speaker 3: He appeared in the season two episode The Outrage Is
- 29:16Speaker 3: of Kona. That's when Data conjured up a comedian on
- 29:21Speaker 3: the holiday.
- 29:22Speaker 5: That was Joe Episcopal.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, yep.
- 29:26Speaker 2: So who If you're gonna learn comedy, that's who you
- 29:28Speaker 2: want to learn it from.
- 29:31Speaker 5: Yeah? That and uh and and and curls.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, yeah.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Well he had a big career after Next Generation. You
- 29:40Speaker 3: saw his last year special, didn't you. Yeah, he's kid,
- 29:46Speaker 3: Yeah is he? Is he dead or is he still alive?
- 29:50Speaker 5: He was, He was a He was a semi successful comedian.
- 29:53Speaker 5: Then all of a sudden he just started going to
- 29:55Speaker 5: the gym and gave up on comedy. Yeah, he was jacked.
- 29:58Speaker 5: He was jacked for a while. He was in the
- 30:00Speaker 5: cover of magazines and then just.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Because every every you know, talented, amazing person has a
- 30:07Speaker 3: choice to make. They can either be funny or they
- 30:09Speaker 3: can be ripped. I made my choice.
- 30:13Speaker 5: Yeah, which are you neither? Apparently?
- 30:21Speaker 3: Sure the hell ain't jacked?
- 30:24Speaker 2: Uh?
- 30:26Speaker 3: All I have is my wit.
- 30:29Speaker 2: And people in the basement.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Yep, it's.
- 30:34Speaker 5: Uh so yeah, this uh, this twist, this twist at
- 30:40Speaker 5: the end was pretty pretty predictable. I mean, you know,
- 30:46Speaker 5: the kids missing, the other kids missing. Yeah, they're together.
- 30:51Speaker 5: It's a Romeo and Juliet situation. The two families hate
- 30:55Speaker 5: each other and the kids and the kids hook up.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Just I don't know, Philip Warren's for a adners. That
- 31:04Speaker 3: was the name of the original series episode.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Okay where Yeah, yeah, I saw that two us coming
- 31:10Speaker 2: a mile away, just just like you, Dan, I don't know.
- 31:13Speaker 5: I hope they're setting up for something big at the end,
- 31:16Speaker 5: because I really feel like I'm falling out of love
- 31:20Speaker 5: with the show.
- 31:21Speaker 3: It's starting to feel more like Daniel's right though. That
- 31:24Speaker 3: that that that space battle in the opening sequence. It
- 31:28Speaker 3: has more and more to do because you know, Corporeal,
- 31:31Speaker 3: and it just feels like there's some big, giant war brewing.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Yeah. So it also feels like the show's limping along,
- 31:39Speaker 2: like Dan said.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And I also I have another prediction. Q
- 31:44Speaker 3: is definitely going to show up at the end of
- 31:47Speaker 3: the season.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Yeah. They brought him up a couple of times now.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Yeah, they have Yeah, when when when Mariner says, uh,
- 31:54Speaker 3: you know Q, Yeah, they're more.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Mm hmmm h yeah. So although the cube brought us
- 32:03Speaker 2: the boorg, so you pretty dangerous.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Right, but the que themselves weren't the danger But no,
- 32:09Speaker 3: I see what you're saying. So the episode ended with
- 32:13Speaker 3: you know, the the cubes and the spheres finding out
- 32:16Speaker 3: that the teenage Cuban sphere had gotten together and made
- 32:19Speaker 3: a little cute cube spheroid ish kind of baby. I
- 32:26Speaker 3: love the line of do not give a juice?
- 32:29Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that was pretty funny.
- 32:31Speaker 3: That was great.
- 32:33Speaker 5: And when it takes a ship on the floor and
- 32:35Speaker 5: and and dad has no idea what to.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Do with right, right.
- 32:38Speaker 3: And the other joke that I liked was when they
- 32:40Speaker 3: were when they when they were looking for the uh,
- 32:45Speaker 3: when Zeus's granddaughter and Marin are looking looking around, they
- 32:49Speaker 3: go into the gym of the of the spheres and
- 32:53Speaker 3: one of them comes out and is not glowing and
- 32:55Speaker 3: he's like, ah, you know, I'm not don't don't look
- 32:57Speaker 3: at me, I'm not glowing. And she's like, oh, is
- 32:58Speaker 3: that your version of being naked? And he's like, oh,
- 33:00Speaker 3: you look great. It's obviously you don't skip radius day. Yeah.
- 33:07Speaker 3: I don't know why it was such a stupid joke.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I just couldn't stop laughing.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Yeah, this this is my favorite scene for the cat
- 33:17Speaker 2: doctor dropped the elbow.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Yeah, she was messing. She was scratching the hell out
- 33:23Speaker 3: of it. Oh yeah, I mean he needed a shot
- 33:26Speaker 3: after that.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Yeah, he's pretty bad.
- 33:30Speaker 5: Yeah, but he you know, he made it. He made
- 33:33Speaker 5: it to the book club, so it was all worth it.
- 33:35Speaker 3: He did make it to the book club.
- 33:38Speaker 2: He's following that that pad pretty good.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Yep.
- 33:41Speaker 2: And I like at the end where they're like, oh,
- 33:43Speaker 2: to get ahead, we just need to pretend to be
- 33:46Speaker 2: somebody else or like that. Yeah tape, No, that's not
- 33:51Speaker 2: the lesson. Yeah. Yeah, but we only got a few
- 33:58Speaker 2: more episodes left. We're on seven next week.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Yeah, we have four episodes left.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Yeah, seven on Thanksgiving. Yeah, I'd love to see what
- 34:11Speaker 2: the numbers are for what it releases. Do people go
- 34:14Speaker 2: and watch it right away with family or not?
- 34:17Speaker 5: You know, I don't think so.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think.
- 34:22Speaker 3: It'll definitely be like after you know, it's gonna be
- 34:25Speaker 3: an eight o'clock. You know, I got the day off
- 34:28Speaker 3: and we're doing Thanksgiving, and it's gonna be a after
- 34:32Speaker 3: the Lions have won and the Turkey is settled and
- 34:35Speaker 3: all that. It's gonna be like an eight thirty kind
- 34:38Speaker 3: of like, oh yeah, is that a new episode?
- 34:40Speaker 5: The Lions are playing the turkeys, Yes.
- 34:43Speaker 3: The lines are playing the turkeys on Thanksgiving Day?
- 34:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll watch it. Everybody's gonna watch it.
- 34:54Speaker 2: That's right.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I'm not, although that's a bad omen when people are like, yeah,
- 34:59Speaker 3: I guess watch it to a series that you know,
- 35:04Speaker 3: we really loved at the beginning, so hopefully they're hopefully
- 35:07Speaker 3: they're winding up for something big at the end, hopefully.
- 35:12Speaker 3: And I still stand by my I still stand by
- 35:14Speaker 3: my prediction that the series finale is going to feature
- 35:17Speaker 3: live action Mariner and this is all going to be
- 35:21Speaker 3: her retelling.
- 35:23Speaker 2: It's possible, we'll see. But yeah, all right, well we
- 35:31Speaker 2: should probably get into listener feedback then.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Right, well, we do have one other thing if I
- 35:36Speaker 3: could talk about.
- 35:37Speaker 5: Oh yeah, go for it. Okay.
- 35:39Speaker 3: So I went to the twenty twenty four Grand Rapids
- 35:42Speaker 3: Comic Con Thanks last weekend.
- 35:45Speaker 5: I thought you were going to talk about your butt again.
- 35:48Speaker 3: I mean, I can find my colon oscovir results are
- 35:52Speaker 3: around here somewhere, I'm sure. Uh so. Uh, as far
- 35:58Speaker 3: as the panels and everything. I did record a couple
- 36:01Speaker 3: of short videos. I did a short interview with the
- 36:03Speaker 3: one of the captains from one of the fan clubs,
- 36:06Speaker 3: Star Trek fan Club Start Trik International, and I posted
- 36:10Speaker 3: those on the Facebook group. So if you want to
- 36:13Speaker 3: watch some of those videos, check out our Facebook group.
- 36:16Speaker 3: I also recorded both panels of both Denise Crosby and
- 36:20Speaker 3: Walter Koenig. The audio is a little bit light on
- 36:24Speaker 3: the Walter Koenig panel. He's eighty eight now, so he
- 36:30Speaker 3: speaks kind of softly. And it's not gonna be posted
- 36:33Speaker 3: on the trek Cast YouTube channel. It's gonna be posted.
- 36:38Speaker 3: I'm gonna post links of it from my YouTube channel
- 36:41Speaker 3: onto Facebook and the show notes and there right right
- 36:48Speaker 3: we were having little technical issues getting the video to
- 36:51Speaker 3: transfer for me to to Daniel to post on the
- 36:55Speaker 3: trek cast YouTube channel. So I'm going to post links
- 36:58Speaker 3: to both panels on the Facebook group and you'll post
- 37:02Speaker 3: links on the show notes.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Okay, So I'll just go over this real quickly. The
- 37:08Speaker 3: comic con was great. If you want a little preview,
- 37:10Speaker 3: I actually posted it's pretty much was the same as
- 37:13Speaker 3: last year. So I actually made a video that's on
- 37:16Speaker 3: the trek Cast YouTube channel of the twenty twenty three
- 37:19Speaker 3: Comic Con. Go and check that out. But the two
- 37:22Speaker 3: panels were Denise Crosby and Walter Koenig. Denise Crosby talked
- 37:26Speaker 3: about you know a little bit about a track, a
- 37:29Speaker 3: little bit about pet sermon cemetery, a little bit about
- 37:32Speaker 3: her appearance in Playboy, and if you'd like to hear
- 37:36Speaker 3: about that, check out the video. But she also echoed
- 37:42Speaker 3: a sentiment that we all have been echoing and that
- 37:46Speaker 3: a lot of the Star Trek actors and celebrities have
- 37:49Speaker 3: been echoing. She wants to do Legacy. She said, I
- 37:54Speaker 3: already talked to the showrunners about it. She's already apparently
- 37:57Speaker 3: talked to God. I almost said, Kevin Faie the show
- 38:01Speaker 3: runner for track right now? Is Kurtzman, Yeah, Alex Kurtzman.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Apparently they've already talked a little bit, and she wants
- 38:11Speaker 3: to do She has an idea to do legacy where
- 38:15Speaker 3: she would return as Sela. And the audience was all
- 38:19Speaker 3: about it. I mean, we all wanted it, she wanted it,
- 38:22Speaker 3: so hopefully, hopefully that all happened. That was a really
- 38:25Speaker 3: good panel. And I went up and I asked the
- 38:29Speaker 3: hard hitting question, and so if you want to see that,
- 38:32Speaker 3: check out the check out the video. The next one
- 38:37Speaker 3: was Walter Koenig, and I had never I'd never heard
- 38:41Speaker 3: any of the original series people talk at any of
- 38:43Speaker 3: these panels. Sulu has been there. All he did was
- 38:47Speaker 3: sign autographs. So it was nice that Walter cone, like
- 38:51Speaker 3: I said, he's eighty eight years old, and he had
- 38:53Speaker 3: some fantastic insights. He talked about his opinion of William Shatner,
- 39:00Speaker 3: talked about how he got a start in Star trek
- 39:05Speaker 3: Uh and I also went up and to the mic
- 39:08Speaker 3: and asked him the hard hitting question. So definitely checked
- 39:12Speaker 3: that out.
- 39:13Speaker 5: It was a great It was a great pan Is
- 39:15Speaker 5: a hot dog a sandwich that one, or.
- 39:18Speaker 3: It's hot dog a sandwich is hot dog a sandwich adjacent?
- 39:22Speaker 5: So got it.
- 39:24Speaker 3: It was it was good. The first day of the
- 39:26Speaker 3: comic con, my wife and I cosplayed as we went
- 39:31Speaker 3: his Beetlejuice. I went his Beetlejuice, and she went as
- 39:35Speaker 3: a win on a writer's character as from the wedding scene.
- 39:39Speaker 3: So she had the red wedding dress and I had
- 39:42Speaker 3: the velvet suit on. So it was we got a lot.
- 39:46Speaker 5: Of a lot of comments Joe Pesci's tuxedo.
- 39:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I had Joe pet Texas tuxedo. So it was
- 39:53Speaker 3: it was interesting. I'd never I'd never dressed up for
- 39:55Speaker 3: a comic con, and I was. It was so much
- 39:57Speaker 3: fun having people hell can I can I get your
- 40:00Speaker 3: picture taken? And a lot of I had a lot
- 40:02Speaker 3: of parents with like little tiny kids that are like, oh,
- 40:04Speaker 3: can can we get your picture taken? It like absolutely,
- 40:07Speaker 3: so it was. It was a lot of fun. So
- 40:10Speaker 3: really enjoyed it. But yeah, check out check out the
- 40:13Speaker 3: Facebook group. The show notes are.
- 40:17Speaker 2: For next year.
- 40:20Speaker 3: You know, it all depends on what kind of character
- 40:22Speaker 3: I can do as a you know, as a larger man.
- 40:26Speaker 3: You know, so if anybody has any suggestions.
- 40:28Speaker 5: Ghostbusters come in every shape and size, my friend.
- 40:31Speaker 3: That's true. Uh, speaking of Ghostbusters, I I talked to
- 40:36Speaker 3: the I actually went to a small panel with the
- 40:38Speaker 3: Ghostbusters of I think it's a Ghostbuster to Kalamazoo or
- 40:42Speaker 3: Southwest Michigan. They're a Ghostbuster fan club that does a
- 40:46Speaker 3: lot of charity work.
- 40:47Speaker 5: You know.
- 40:48Speaker 3: They they dress up in full gear. And when I
- 40:50Speaker 3: say gear, I mean they've got they've got the packs,
- 40:53Speaker 3: they've got the traps they've got, you know, the suits
- 40:58Speaker 3: and a lot of them are screen accurate. Some of
- 41:00Speaker 3: them are just screen accurate, plus whatever little things they
- 41:04Speaker 3: wanted to add on to. These people are passionate about Ghostbusters.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Uh they've got then they've got a mock up of
- 41:10Speaker 3: the Containment Unit there. I mean, it's it's great. And
- 41:14Speaker 3: like I said, they do a lot of charity work.
- 41:17Speaker 3: So you know, if you, if if any of you
- 41:19Speaker 3: are Ghostbusters fans, you're interested in doing charity work. There's
- 41:22Speaker 3: chapters all around the country of these Ghostbuster fan groups.
- 41:27Speaker 3: And uh so, yeah, that was a lot of fun,
- 41:30Speaker 3: so awesome. Yeah, I think that's about all all I've got.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Okay, so check.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Out the Facebook group. I'll post all those videos.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Okay, we've got Jazz was waiting, so let's get till
- 41:40Speaker 2: the surve feedback.
- 41:45Speaker 5: Listener feedback. There he is there.
- 41:49Speaker 3: What's up, Chaz biz?
- 41:51Speaker 4: What's up?
- 41:53Speaker 5: It's a little dark. You look like the guy from
- 41:55Speaker 5: the future from Enterprise, Yes, the one we never found out.
- 42:00Speaker 2: We're like like for protecting his identity change g U wars.
- 42:11Speaker 5: He so like Dan?
- 42:13Speaker 4: All right, which Enterprise? Am I on?
- 42:16Speaker 5: Like the X or you're on you're on the Triple
- 42:22Speaker 5: X baby the.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Triple Well, so what just what'd you think of the
- 42:31Speaker 3: two episodes? Yeah?
- 42:33Speaker 4: What'd you think were totally forgettable?
- 42:36Speaker 2: Yeah that's what you want.
- 42:43Speaker 4: I know, they were filler episodes, like Scott said earlier,
- 42:48Speaker 4: and like I was goning to rewatch him and I
- 42:52Speaker 4: just didn't care. Yeah, I was like, well, I kind
- 42:56Speaker 4: of saw him and I didn't laugh.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Yeah. I watched both of them twice, but only because
- 43:02Speaker 3: of homework.
- 43:04Speaker 4: I mean A little bit starby Citie, you know, was
- 43:07Speaker 4: probably the funniest one, you know, but I don't know.
- 43:13Speaker 4: This last one. I didn't really chuckle at all. That's
- 43:15Speaker 4: up maybe the sphere of parts m.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Yeah, there are a couple of one liners I thought
- 43:20Speaker 3: were funny, but yeah, overall episode I didn't.
- 43:23Speaker 4: But I don't know if some of the writers already
- 43:26Speaker 4: left early or what, or are they just don't care, you.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Know, they're having a I write the episodes, or or.
- 43:34Speaker 4: This could have been the writer's strike. This might have
- 43:37Speaker 4: been a part of that.
- 43:42Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 43:42Speaker 4: So this season, I.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Just had a great idea, I'm going to talk to
- 43:46Speaker 3: chat GBT and have it right. An episode of Lower
- 43:50Speaker 3: Decks do it and then next week I can give
- 43:55Speaker 3: you guys a synopsis. I'm writing it down. That's a
- 43:58Speaker 3: write down in my notes. Worthy idea.
- 44:03Speaker 5: We should assign parts and do a table read on
- 44:07Speaker 5: the show.
- 44:09Speaker 3: That is great. All I can email you the transcript.
- 44:14Speaker 2: I was thinking about getting a magic eight ball, so
- 44:17Speaker 2: the next time we do a prediction show, we can
- 44:19Speaker 2: do us and then the magic gate ball. Yeah that
- 44:27Speaker 2: might work. Yeah, but you might have to do a
- 44:30Speaker 2: prediction show for section thirty one because that's right around
- 44:34Speaker 2: the corner. That's literary.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that's one of those that's like Wolf.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yeah, why why would we do a prediction show?
- 44:45Speaker 4: Or or why would they make Green looked this thing?
- 44:49Speaker 2: Like, we'll find out. I'm hoping it's good.
- 44:53Speaker 5: When did they first talk about it? Has it been?
- 44:56Speaker 5: I feel like it's been like five years.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Seven years.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it was when Discovery first came out.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Yeah, so like seven years. Yeah, because they're like, hey,
- 45:06Speaker 4: we got Michelle.
- 45:07Speaker 2: You know, it's like the Flash Movie. They announced the
- 45:10Speaker 2: Flash Movie when the first season of the Flash came out.
- 45:12Speaker 3: Mm hmm was that long ago?
- 45:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's when they first announced the Flash Movie.
- 45:21Speaker 5: Ten years.
- 45:23Speaker 4: It's like Blade and they finally gave up on Blade.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Yeah, they're like, uh, black Adam was that they announced
- 45:31Speaker 2: it years and years and years before came out.
- 45:34Speaker 4: I like Flash better than Black Adam. Black Adam was awful.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Black Adam was just generic. Yeah, you can watch it
- 45:41Speaker 2: and not remember that you watched.
- 45:42Speaker 4: It, yes, yes, in the theater and I was like.
- 45:45Speaker 2: It's not great, it's not terrible. It's just it's it's generous.
- 45:48Speaker 2: It happened, it happened.
- 45:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Yeah. And that's the last time we see Henry.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Cavill so yeah. Or Pierce Browsing. He made a great
- 45:57Speaker 2: Doctor Fate. Yeah, awesome in there. He was wasted in
- 46:02Speaker 2: that movie, man.
- 46:03Speaker 4: Yeah, and I thought Michael Keaton was kind of wasted.
- 46:06Speaker 4: And the Flash. Yeah, I love seeing Keaton again. That's
- 46:11Speaker 4: the whole reason why I watched that maybe last year.
- 46:15Speaker 2: No, totally fine with that. I forget what it is.
- 46:24Speaker 2: There's an actor where they asked him like, why did
- 46:26Speaker 2: you make that movie? Because yeah, I barely remember making it,
- 46:28Speaker 2: but I remember the summer House I bought with the
- 46:29Speaker 2: track exactly.
- 46:32Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, take that cash.
- 46:37Speaker 3: That's why I do this show, just for the.
- 46:41Speaker 4: I know the money is just pouring in, right, always those.
- 46:45Speaker 5: Residuals working working on my truck cast, my truck cast pension.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 46:52Speaker 4: The Star Trek's so popular right now, and it's just
- 46:54Speaker 4: all these people are just clamoring.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Keeps so much more popular right now.
- 47:00Speaker 4: It could be Oh my god, That's why I'm I'm hoping, like,
- 47:04Speaker 4: is there like a billionaire or somebody that just like.
- 47:08Speaker 2: A lot of the billionaires love Star Drink. That's the
- 47:10Speaker 2: crazy thing. I think Elon loves it, and.
- 47:17Speaker 4: Did Jeff Bezos.
- 47:21Speaker 2: A lot of the billionaires love love Star Trek.
- 47:24Speaker 4: Sounds like somebody just buy it out and hire a
- 47:26Speaker 4: good shot runner.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Well, can somebody email Bezos or Musk?
- 47:32Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 47:32Speaker 2: Yeah, let me get right on it.
- 47:33Speaker 5: I'm on it.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Yeah now, Dan, Space Force works with space X, right, Hey,
- 47:40Speaker 3: just just tweet it.
- 47:41Speaker 5: Can't I can't co mingle.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Oh come on, you can't cross the streams dogs and
- 47:48Speaker 2: cats living together?
- 47:50Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, is here? You must be a lieutenant sergeant
- 47:54Speaker 3: by now in the in the Space Force.
- 47:56Speaker 5: Definitely, I'm definitely a lieutenant sergeant.
- 47:59Speaker 4: He been to Mars.
- 48:02Speaker 5: I can't talk about it, just like.
- 48:09Speaker 4: Are aliens real?
- 48:12Speaker 5: I can't.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I can't talk about talk about it.
- 48:16Speaker 3: They declassified it like three years ago. It's like the
- 48:18Speaker 3: government said, yes, the aliens are real, we have their bodies.
- 48:23Speaker 5: That's what they wanted to think.
- 48:25Speaker 3: And the population was like yeah, yeah, yeah, let's get
- 48:27Speaker 3: on with this COVID conspiracy.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Stuffy populations like whatever, I stuff to go to work tomorrow.
- 48:33Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, nobody cared.
- 48:34Speaker 5: They they admitted.
- 48:35Speaker 3: The government admitted that they have alien technology, like, yes
- 48:39Speaker 3: we do. We got all that roswell stuff is pretty
- 48:41Speaker 3: much true. We've got bodies and ships. And the American
- 48:44Speaker 3: the world population was like ha what yeah whatever, going
- 48:48Speaker 3: back to I gotta get back to TikTok. Nobody believes that.
- 48:56Speaker 2: It's not until they actually like trot them out and
- 48:59Speaker 2: like you go.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Even then, I think people are gonna be.
- 49:02Speaker 5: Like, yeah, that's that's a I. Yeah.
- 49:09Speaker 4: Or the way my dad calls it a one, not
- 49:12Speaker 4: a I. I'm like, because he's only read it.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Yeah the other day, put a little bit of AI
- 49:22Speaker 2: in there.
- 49:24Speaker 5: On there. Everything's better with a little AI on it.
- 49:29Speaker 3: That's right, that's not chopped ham, it's chop steak. All right, Well,
- 49:41Speaker 3: can I do a little bit of quick show and tell?
- 49:43Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I do it?
- 49:44Speaker 3: Okay, I uh one of the last things I bought.
- 49:47Speaker 3: I bought a whole bunch of comic books in their
- 49:50Speaker 3: original original packaging as they came out, Like these have
- 49:55Speaker 3: never been opened. So the first time I got I
- 49:58Speaker 3: found this, Uh, these are like I haven't even opened
- 50:01Speaker 3: them up yet. It says Personality presents the New Crew,
- 50:04Speaker 3: and it says Jonathan Franks number one from the New
- 50:06Speaker 3: Star Trek. And I got one from Jonathan Franks and
- 50:10Speaker 3: one for Little LeVar Burton. And then I picked up
- 50:15Speaker 3: and I didn't even realize. I was just looking through
- 50:17Speaker 3: the bins. It was the fifty cent bin at this one,
- 50:20Speaker 3: collector at this one, you know, because like I said,
- 50:22Speaker 3: the Comic CON's basically big flea market, and it was
- 50:25Speaker 3: fifty cents of comic And I found like a little
- 50:28Speaker 3: section where head Star Trek and I've got Star Trek
- 50:31Speaker 3: the Next Generation number one. It's got Picard and Q
- 50:35Speaker 3: on the cover and then it skips to number ten.
- 50:38Speaker 3: But I've got number ten, eleven, twelve. So I've got
- 50:45Speaker 3: one that were cards in the brig. I've got one
- 50:48Speaker 3: with Data and Picard and they're looking at an alternate enterprise.
- 50:54Speaker 3: I've got one with Picard and it looks like he's
- 50:58Speaker 3: dead in one of the evac suits. I got one
- 51:02Speaker 3: with Troy and Bryan. Here's here's one with Riker and
- 51:07Speaker 3: he's parasailing on a planet, which I thought was a
- 51:11Speaker 3: little kind of cool. One where it's about the Feringhi,
- 51:16Speaker 3: and then one where it's called Melstorm with a bunch
- 51:20Speaker 3: of enterprises on it. I just, yeah, I just bought
- 51:23Speaker 3: these for the for the artwork on the front. So
- 51:26Speaker 3: I haven't opened I opened the first one just to
- 51:28Speaker 3: thumb through it a little bit, but I don't know,
- 51:31Speaker 3: maybe there were something. But if anybody's got a good
- 51:34Speaker 3: bead on Star Trek the next generation, uh number two
- 51:38Speaker 3: through nine, this is These are from nineteen nineteen ninety nice.
- 51:45Speaker 3: So yeah, if you go to these, if you go
- 51:48Speaker 3: to these comic cons, there's there's these. These dealers are
- 51:51Speaker 3: all over the place. You can get comic books cheap.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Really, I guess I can on you guys. No, he's
- 51:57Speaker 2: coming back.
- 51:58Speaker 4: He's just it's like I'm going to Thanksgiving.
- 52:01Speaker 2: That's right. No, So I can announce this because we
- 52:04Speaker 2: got it scheduled. So later this week we're gonna be
- 52:08Speaker 2: interviewing Brian volk Wise. He is the CEO of Nacell Toys.
- 52:16Speaker 2: They're going the uh this new star trek line. So
- 52:20Speaker 2: we're interviewing him later this week and uh so I
- 52:23Speaker 2: will put a thing in the group. See you guys,
- 52:25Speaker 2: if you have any questions for him, we can pass
- 52:28Speaker 2: thus along. I'm pretty excited to interview him.
- 52:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm I'm available at that time. Do you want
- 52:35Speaker 3: me to yeah?
- 52:37Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Well we can make an anatomically correct data.
- 52:44Speaker 2: One can only hope, you know, not everybody hopes. Oh man, Dan,
- 52:55Speaker 2: do you have any questions for Brian when we interview him?
- 52:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I would like to know if.
- 53:01Speaker 4: They are.
- 53:03Speaker 3: He remember a conversation we had about a month ago, Like,
- 53:06Speaker 3: I know you, I know what question you want to know?
- 53:08Speaker 3: You want to know if if the data has a detachable.
- 53:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I would like to know how they scale with
- 53:18Speaker 5: the diamond select.
- 53:19Speaker 2: I knew that was gonna be your question.
- 53:21Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. Yeah, because you don't want him, Like.
- 53:29Speaker 5: Yeah, that is the factor as to whether I will
- 53:34Speaker 5: buy one or more than one. Got to get it.
- 53:37Speaker 3: Out, get the strong beard. But who's d t X,
- 53:43Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't know. He gave me a

- 54:00Speaker 3: No, oh no, it's Xenomorph, Zeno Grift. It's Zeno Griff. Okay,
- 54:04Speaker 3: he's emailed me before. Yep, that's Zeno Griff.
- 54:06Speaker 5: Oh okay, okay, all right.

- 54:52Speaker 3: Yep.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Absolutely on his logo, is that supposed to be a
- 54:56Speaker 2: fork for a wing? Looks like a fork?
- 55:00Speaker 4: What a spork? Maybe?
- 55:01Speaker 5: Ye?
- 55:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that's cool. I like the logo.
- 55:07Speaker 5: Is that griffin holding holding two pistols?
- 55:10Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 55:10Speaker 3: Maybe I like it. I like it.
- 55:15Speaker 2: It's a random image.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Random image. Okay, fair enough, cool?
- 55:21Speaker 4: Cool?
- 55:22Speaker 3: All right for tuning in.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Well, anything else we want to bring up before we
- 55:25Speaker 2: wrap it up.
- 55:26Speaker 4: What's everybody doing for Thanksgiving?
- 55:28Speaker 2: I have no idea yet, no idea.
- 55:31Speaker 3: We're gonna switch it up a little bit. We're gonna
- 55:33Speaker 3: have some family over for some turkey. Nice and we're
- 55:36Speaker 3: gonna watch football. So I know that's not what people
- 55:38Speaker 3: usually do on Thanksgiving.
- 55:40Speaker 4: Well, your your Lions are doing good.
- 55:42Speaker 5: Hey, you you do what's right for your family, right right?
- 55:46Speaker 3: Yeah, the Detroit Lions, go Lions. They're doing fantastics this year. Uh,
- 55:50Speaker 3: they're going to the super Bowl.
- 55:52Speaker 4: Yeah, my Dallas Cowboys tickets.
- 55:55Speaker 3: Heck, no, have you seen how much super Bowl tickets are? Oh?
- 55:58Speaker 4: Man, No, I mean there are a lot for.
- 56:03Speaker 3: I could line my entire I could line my entire
- 56:05Speaker 3: living room with TVs.
- 56:06Speaker 4: Yeah, you can line the whole outer exterior of your
- 56:09Speaker 4: house with TVs.
- 56:12Speaker 3: Just look. I've I've been to I've been to some
- 56:15Speaker 3: live games, not not to trap into some Michigan games
- 56:18Speaker 3: live about a half a dozen of them, And it's
- 56:20Speaker 3: cool to go to the big house, but it's still
- 56:23Speaker 3: much more comfortable to watch them in my living room. Yeah,
- 56:27Speaker 3: and cheaper, just a wee bit cheaper.
- 56:33Speaker 4: And then when you leave, it takes probably like an
- 56:36Speaker 4: hour and a half just to get out of the
- 56:37Speaker 4: parking lot. Yeah, that's the most wort.
- 56:42Speaker 5: Thing I went to. Uh, I went to the I
- 56:46Speaker 5: went to the m v P Arena in Albany on
- 56:48Speaker 5: Wednesday night to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Oh yeah,
