- 0:41The f A Hey, y'all, welcome today's show. My mental have a
- 1:04little trouble with the pollen from the pear trees this this spring. We have
- 1:11a lot of Bradford pairs that are playing ornamentally. If you're ever in a
- 1:15spring day and you smell this like really awful smell of fish and you're nowhere
- 1:19near the coast, that's a Bradford pair. And so I had to miss
- 1:25a couple podcasts, but I'm back, And before we get into our usual
- 1:29stuff, I want to tell you about a petition. Life site News is
- 1:34the one sponsoring it. You can find on Life petitions dot com. Now,
- 1:41what this is is a petition urging the US bishops to excommunicate Joe Biden
- 1:46for pleasure to restore Roe V. Wade. I've signed it. I feel
- 1:51very strongly about this. A the Catholic Church teaches that abortion is inherently immoral.
- 2:00Joe Biden claims to be Catholic. He supports abortion one hundred percent.
- 2:04So does Nancy Pelosi said a lot of them when they do that, they're
- 2:09creating scandal. They're confusing people about church teachings. But more than that,
- 2:16when they go up for the Eucharist. They're committing a mortal sin. Every
- 2:23single time they receive the Eucharist, they're essentially damning their own souls to hell.
- 2:30And whether you like Joe Biden, pray for Joe Biden, that's great.
- 2:36Pray for the president, you know, pray for all our leaders.
- 2:38The Bible tells us we're supposed to do that. Priests have a duty to
- 2:45instruct their parishioners on matters of morals and doctrine. The priest who is giving
- 2:53Joe Biden the Eucharist is creating a graver moral sin than Joe Biden. The
- 3:00bishops have a duty to instruct those priests to tell Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi
- 3:06and many many more, I'm sorry, you're not in communion with the church
- 3:13right now. What does that mean. It means you can't receive communion until
- 3:17and unless you embrace the teachings of the Catholic Church. You cannot receive communion
- 3:23in the Catholic Church. There's evidence of this in the Bible. Saint Paul
- 3:29wrote to one of the churches, was it Corinth? I think it was
- 3:32probably Corinth, and said that he heard that one of the parishioners in that
- 3:37Catholic church in Corinth two thousand years ago was having an affair with his father's
- 3:44wife, not his mother necessarily, but his father's wife, and that was
- 3:46not allowed. And his words were, give that man to Satan in hopes
- 3:53that his soul might be saved. What that means excommunicate him, cut him
- 3:58off from the sacraments of the church, until he comes to repentance and you
- 4:03know, goes to confession, and then he and changes his ways, you
- 4:08know, actually has to reform his thinking in his way of life, and
- 4:12then he can receive communion again. Until then he must be excommunicated. You
- 4:18know, I'd love for Joe Biden to have a come to Jesus moment,
- 4:21as he recently said about Benjamin Nett and Yahoo, Yeah, that didn't go
- 4:26over real well. But I'd love for him to reform and be able to
- 4:32have a chance at going to heaven. But right now he's committing a mortal
- 4:35sin every time he receives the Eucharist and every time he calls himself Catholic publicly.
- 4:41But his priests and bishops are committing a far more grave sin by allowing
- 4:47this to happen. Encouraging it to happen. Jesus said, woe to you
- 4:53that leads one of these little ones astray. Be better if you had a
- 4:56millstone tie to run your neck and we're plunged into the sea. I mean,
- 5:00there is a higher standard, and it's actually our bishops that are failing
- 5:03it. So if you believe like I do, if you feel like I
- 5:06do, please go to lifepetitions dot com. Look for the petition that says,
- 5:14urge US bishops to excommunicate Joe Biden for pledging to restore Roe v.
- 5:19Wade or life site dot Org. I think it is, but life petitions
- 5:24dot com and the full r r L is lifepetitions dot com for slash petition
- 5:31for slash urge Dash U Dash s Dash Bishops Dash two Dash publicly Dash excommunicate
- 5:40Dash Joe Dash Biden. So that's about us clear of a r L I've
- 5:44ever seen. So just look for that petition urge US bishops to excommunicate Joe
- 5:48Biden for pledging to restore Roe v. Wade. He said, and stay
- 5:53of the union the most public address, and it is absolute heresy and scandal,
- 5:57and it cannot be tolerated. Only forty six thousand people have signed this
- 6:01petition so far. They said they want to get to one hundred thousand before
- 6:06they send it to the bishops. There should literally every single faithful Catholic in
- 6:11America, which is millions of people should have are signed it. So I'm
- 6:15going to ask you to sign it and share it. Share it with all
- 6:18your friends and family, send it to everybody. There's a great explanation of
- 6:23send it to people who disagree with you. Maybe they'll read the article and
- 6:26be convinced. Maybe they won't, but maybe it'll convict their conscience that they
- 6:30need to get right with. You know, they need to go to confession
- 6:32if they're a Catholic who supports abortion. Spread it far and wide as much
- 6:38as you can. And now we'll go ahead and get to the section from
- 6:42Radio Applies for the Day. And you may remember that an Anglican has been
- 6:47questioning the priests, and we'll get a couple of questions and answers. Here.
- 6:54He says, I want to know the difference between the English Catholic Church
- 6:57of the Roman Catholic Church. And they said, if you mean by the
- 7:00English Catholic Church that the Catholic Church in England, which is under the jurisdiction
- 7:04of the Cardinal archbishoph of Westminster, there is no difference. But if you
- 7:10mean the Church of England, I can reply that that church is not Catholic
- 7:14at all. You know. For the past well, first of all,
- 7:19you know, under King Henry and Cromwell, and they tried to exterminate all
- 7:24Catholics from England. They finally kind of found a peace whereas essentially Catholics,
- 7:30which who had once ruled England, you know my family, the House of
- 7:34Wessex, they stripped all their property from them, but eventually a compromise was
- 7:41made that they could continue to be Catholic, but they'd be a lower class,
- 7:46a lower class in society, a lower class in government. For a
- 7:48great period of time, they weren't allowed to teach in schools, or be
- 7:53doctors, or be lawyers. There's a lot of discrimination against Catholics in England
- 7:59that continues to be so to this day. But there is a Catholic church
- 8:03in England. I know several Catholic English Catholics, you know, but the
- 8:09Church of England is not Catholic. And the person continues. You have said
- 8:13that Henry the Eighth started the Catholic Church of England in the sixteenth century.
- 8:20But history shows that the church was in England before Henry the Eighth. That's
- 8:24totally false, they say. History shows that the Catholic Church was in England
- 8:28before the time of Henry the Eighth. Today we have the Catholic Church and
- 8:33the Anglican Church, in addition, of course, to many others. The
- 8:37Anglican Church was unheard of until Henry the Eighth determined to establish it. Previously,
- 8:41he had been subject to the Pope as am I. The church which
- 8:46history records as being in England before Henry the Eighth corresponds exactly to the Catholic
- 8:52Church in England today under the Archbishop of Westminster. Anglicanism is the intruder.
- 9:01Person continues. Henry reformed the church, giving back to England a purified church.
- 9:05If you remove foreign matter from the eye, the eye is not destroyed.
- 9:09They said. Henry cave no church back to England. He to give
- 9:13back it is to restore what was possessed before. But nothing like the Anglican
- 9:18Church hauld ever previously existed in England. You cannot term Henry's action the removing
- 9:24of foreign matter from the eye. Rather, he removed the eye and filled
- 9:26up the cavity with foreign matter. The Catholic Church was suppressed and a new
- 9:31Church of England was created. All right, So now let's get on to
- 9:37the work. We have been working through a little at a time Thoughspiraga's exhaustive
- 9:43explanation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church written in the eighteen nineties, and
- 9:48it's just such a wonderful book. Today we begin a new topic against the
- 9:52ninth article of the Creed on the Catholic Church. You know, I believe
- 9:58in the Catholic Church. That's the ninth article of the Creed, Number one,
- 10:03the Catholic Church and its Institutions subheading one. The Catholic Church is a
- 10:11visible institution founded by Christ in which men are trained for heaven. The church
- 10:16may be compared with a school. The latter prepares its pupils to become good
- 10:20citizens of the state. The former trains up citizens of heaven. Just as
- 10:24a school has its head master, its staff of teachers as pupils, along
- 10:28with its regulations for discipline and appliances of education. So the church is provided
- 10:35it has a visible head. The visible ceremony of baptism by which members are
- 10:41received, and a visible formula of belief. Hence, Christ compares the church
- 10:46with visible objects, with a city placed on a mountain with a light on
- 10:50a candlestick. It is also called the body Theesians one twenty two, the
- 10:54House of God in for Timothy, a holy city, et cetera. Wherever
- 11:00Catholic priests and Catholics are found, there is the Catholic Church. Two classes
- 11:05of people maintain that the church is not visible, heretics who have been cut
- 11:11off from it yet would gladly belong to the church, and so called freethinkers
- 11:16who wish to shirk their obligation of obeying the visible Church. What a great
- 11:20Pithy's statement. Only two types of people deny that there is a visible church
- 11:26of its Catholic heretics and essentially agnostics or freethinkers. As he puts it,
- 11:35The expression Catholic Church does not imply a mere building of stone or wood,
- 11:39though the comparison is frequently made in the scriptures, such as Ephesians two twenty
- 11:43one. The church is having a living cornerstone, which is Christ, who
- 11:50binds the faith go into one divine family and the foundation stones of the apostles.
- 11:56He gives various references. I'm not going to quote them all, the
- 12:00faithful being the stones of the edifice that is in on Peter. Nor by
- 12:05the Catholic Church do we mean Catholic religion. The church is to the religion
- 12:11as a body is to the soul. The Catholic Church is often called the
- 12:15Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God and the Community of the Faithful.
- 12:20John the Baptist in Christ himself announced that the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand
- 12:24Matthew three two four seventeen. The parables of the Kingdom of Heaven bring up
- 12:28the various features of the church. The gradiation of the offices of the church
- 12:33very important. A kingdom has officers, it's structured, is a hierarchy.
- 12:41Protestants say they reject all hierarchy. Trust me, I was a Methodist,
- 12:45mused minister. They certainly put up a hierarchy in its place. There are
- 12:50actual they're bishops so called in the Methodist Church, and they have their legal
- 12:54institutions. They may I mean, it's like the old song by the who
- 13:00meet the new boss same as the old boss. You know, we won't
- 13:01get fooled again. But in this case they're fooling themselves because the Kingdom with
- 13:07its officers, was founded by Christ and it remains true. And you can't
- 13:11just say like that guy was saying, well, now we have the Church
- 13:16of England, therefore that must be the authentic English Church. No, the
- 13:20Catholic Church was still the real church in England and had been for you know,
- 13:26hundreds of years before King Henry the Eighth came along and got upset because
- 13:30the Pope wouldn't allow him to get a divorce or cut his wife's head off,
- 13:33and so he decided to start his own church, which was an absolute
- 13:37heresy. He is an Antichrist and unfortunately one of my distant relatives. So
- 13:46yes, I have both saints and at least one Antichrist in my family.
- 13:50Saints like King Edward the Confessor, that's one of my ancestors. Well there
- 13:58are others, but I mean, I'm very, very, very hundred you
- 14:03know, to have such men in my in my family. And then you
- 14:07got to King Henry the Eighth, who I won't say he's burning in hell,
- 14:11but you know, most Catholics would have said that quite openly until recently
- 14:16till like Vatican two, and they said, you really ought to be more
- 14:20ecumenical. But you know, the man was a murderer and a genocidal maniac.
- 14:24I mean, what do you think, a glutton, a drunk of
- 14:28cruel. He loved he liked having people tortured and be at it. He
- 14:31was not a good guy. You know. Sorry, if you're a proud
- 14:37englishterer and you know, as we say in the South English, you know,
- 14:39if you ever watched Andy Griffith, it's a reference to that. But
- 14:43sorry, if you're a proud englishman or an englishwoman and you think everything the
- 14:46English do is just wonderful. He was a really bad dude, and there
- 14:52were several after him who were arguably even worse. I mean when they started
- 14:58taking power away from the Church and increasing their power, yeah yeah, it
- 15:05really was bad, really really was bad. And then of course what they
- 15:09did to the Irish. I mean, that's a genocide. The Irish are
- 15:13the most enslaved people on the face of the earth thanks to the English,
- 15:18well and the Vikings before them. The Vikings were pretty tough too, but
- 15:22yeah, yeah, there's nothing holy about the Anglican Church. Sorry, there's
- 15:28not. There may be. You know Christians in it, well meaning good
- 15:31Christians that I know. There are some great writers, great Christian writers come
- 15:37out of it. But the institution of that church was not holy. It
- 15:41was apostasy and heresy and pure evil. Anyway, where was I the gradation
- 15:54of the offices in the church i e. Pope, cardinal, bishop's priests
- 15:58and ordinary Christian It is very suggestive of a kingdom in which the aim is
- 16:03to leave been to heaven. The Church is the people of God scattered throughout
- 16:07the world, says Saint Augustine, or in the words of Saint Thomas aquinas
- 16:11the community the faithful. Our Lord compares it to a fold where he wishes
- 16:15to keep all his sheep. The Church is very properly called the Mother of
- 16:19Christians, because she gives to men the true life of the soul, and
- 16:23because she trains her members as the mother brings up her children. The Church
- 16:27confers in baptism the grace of sanctifying. The Church confers in baptism the gift
- 16:33of sanctifying grace, the true life of the soul. For this grace gives
- 16:37a claim to heaven. As the father who goes away on journey leaves all
- 16:42his power in the hands of the Mother. So Christ and leaving his church
- 16:47on earth, gave it full power. And that's John twenty twenty one.
- 16:53We should love God as our father, says Saint Augustine, and the Church
- 16:57is our mother. If we love our native land so dearly, says Saint
- 17:00Leo the thirteenth, because we were born and bred there, and are even
- 17:06ready to die for it, how much deeper should our love be for the
- 17:10Church which has given us the life which has no end. Point Number two.
- 17:15The Church prepares men for heaven by carrying out the threefold office which Christ
- 17:21conferred upon her, the office of teacher, priest and shepherd. The Church
- 17:26teaches the doctrine of Christ, ministers the means of grace appointed by Christ,
- 17:32and as a guide in shepherd to the faithful. This teaching is carried on
- 17:37by sermons. The means of grace consists in the holy sacrifice of the Mass,
- 17:41the sacraments, blessings, and the holding of special devotions. The guidance
- 17:47consists in laying down certain precepts e g. The Commandments of the Church and
- 17:51the prohibition of what is sinned for dangerous. That's what our bishops are falling
- 17:55down on and that's why you need to sign that petition. And also includes
- 18:00the reading of bad books. Yes, the Catholic Church used to keep a
- 18:03list of books that said Catholics, Uh, if you're going to be a
- 18:07faithful Catholic, you shouldn't read this book. It's sinful, it's bad.
- 18:11That's not a bad thing. Okay. I'm not a free speech absolutist now.
- 18:15In terms of government, you know, government can do it at once.
- 18:21But if the Catholic Church says you shouldn't be putting, you know,
- 18:23child porn in schools and gay all this gay stuff, then you shouldn't.
- 18:29If you think that's a good thing to have drag Queen story Hour in your
- 18:33elementary school library, you probably need to go back and read your Catechism.
- 18:40I mean, you probably need to have a strong, good conversation with a
- 18:44priest who has some sense, and you really shouldn't receive communion until you've changed
- 18:48your opinion and gone to confession. I'm not saying that is me. I'm
- 18:52saying that's because the Catechism says there are immoral books and movies and television shows.
- 19:00There are a lot of them that Catholics really and all Christians really shouldn't
- 19:07watch Really, nobody should watch them or read them. But the Catholic Church,
- 19:11under the authority of Christ, does have the authority to do what's called
- 19:15a censorship list that is actually required by the words of Christ. Like I
- 19:22was saying, one of those who would lead one of these little ones to
- 19:26astray, or you know, Saint Paul saying, look on what's good and
- 19:30decent and beautiful. Don't look on these bad things because they're bad for you.
- 19:37In terms of books, they banned a lot of books that were like,
- 19:40you know, Communist Manifesto in Mind Kemp, which people probably ought not
- 19:45to be reading unless they're reading them. And this was always a caveat if
- 19:48you're reading them for an academic purpose. You know, if you need to
- 19:53know in order to counter what Marx did, you need to know what he
- 19:57taught. Okay, that's an exception. If you're you know, a high
- 20:03school teacher and you're telling your students to read the Communist Manifesto and encouraging them
- 20:07to become communists, that's really bad. Does that sound like an extreme example,
- 20:15Well, that's actually what's going on in our public schools. Right now
- 20:18with all these drag queens, scory hours and all this like child porn that
- 20:22they're pumping into I mean mostly gay porn that they're pumping into the libraries,
- 20:27and they're literally trying to they're groomers. I'll just put it that way.
- 20:34You don't like that word. Sorry, They're grooming these students to embrace a
- 20:38gay or transgender whatever lifestyle. That is immoral and those books should be banned
- 20:45from schools, and the Catholic Church should be taking a much stronger role in
- 20:52saying no. Catholics, you're not allowed no through the authority given to us
- 20:57by Jesus Christ. You can't allow your kids to read these books. You
- 21:03can't have them in your home. You certainly can't have men in your schools,
- 21:07and you should be taking a public role in your community to make sure
- 21:10they're not in public schools, public libraries, etc. You know, you
- 21:15cannot keep someone from spending their own money and buying it from themselves, but
- 21:22you can definitely say this should not be promoted by public institutions, especially anything
- 21:27calling itself Catholic. Anyway. He goes on to say this triple office was
- 21:34first exercised by Christ and then passed on to the Apostles and their successors.
- 21:41Christ used to preach, as we see in the Sermon on them Mount.
- 21:45He dispensed the means of grace, for giving Magdalene her sins, giving his
- 21:49body and blood to the apostles, and the last Supper blessing the little children.
- 21:55Christ was the guide of men. He gave commandments, sent He gave
- 21:59command the apostles on missions, instructed them, and reproved the tyranny of the
- 22:03pharisees, et cetera. He gave the apostles commission one to teach all nations,
- 22:08it's Matthew twenty eight nineteen. And also to exercise the power of the
- 22:15priesthood and to offer sacrifice Though twenty two nineteen, and to forgive sins John
- 22:22twenty two, twenty twenty three, where he said, those who sins there
- 22:26forgiven. Those who sends you retain. They are retained. Very important passage
- 22:30to somehow all Protestants seem to miss. In addition, the apostles received the
- 22:37office of pastor and with it the power of reproving and correcting. That's Matthew
- 22:44eighteen seventeen. I mean, it's actually a duty it's not just a power,
- 22:48but a duty to reprove and correct, and the power of binding and
- 22:52loosing, i e. The power of making and revoking laws. The words
- 22:57of Christ include the successors of the Apostles as well as the Apostles themselves.
- 23:03He said, I am with you all days, even to the consummation of
- 23:07the world. That's Matthew eight twenty point number three. And I think we
- 23:12can wrap this one up here. The Lord and King of the Church is
- 23:17Christ. The prophets had foretold in Psalms too that the Messiah should be a
- 23:22great king, whose kingdoms should last forever and embrace all other kingdoms. The
- 23:26archangel Gabriel told Mary that the Redeemer should be a king and that his kingdom
- 23:30should be eternal Luke one thirty three. Christ calls himself a king to pilate,
- 23:34but denies that his kingdom is of this world. Christ directs the Church
- 23:40through the Holy Ghost, hence he is called the Head of the Church Ephesians
- 23:42one twenty three, of which Christians formed the body, each one being a
- 23:47member of the Body one Corinthians twelve twenty seven. He is also called the
- 23:52invisible Head because he no longer mixes personally with man on earth. On account
- 23:56of his love of the Church. He called her as he called her bridegroom,
- 24:00and she is called his bride. In Revelations or a Book of the
- 24:04Apocalypse as it used to be called twenty one to nine, Christ compared himself
- 24:10to a bridegroom on several occasions Matthew twenty two. Like Jacob who served seven
- 24:15years for Rachel, Christ would serve many years for his church and even gave
- 24:19his life for it. The Catholic Church consists of a teaching and hearing body
- 24:26to the former beloe, the pope, bishops and priests to the latter of
- 24:29the faithful. The word pope comes from the Latin papa i e. Father,
- 24:33bishop, from the Greek episcopus i e. Overseer, priest from the
- 24:40Greek word presbyter, meaning elder. In Latin priest is sacridos. So we'll
- 24:47wrap that up this one. That was the first section of this chapter.
- 24:51And yeah, I'm just gonna say one more time, please take a look
- 24:55at that petition you just heard about the teaching authority of the church, the
- 25:00correcting authority of the church, the duty I mean, you may love your
- 25:06parish priest just like a you know, a brother or a father. I
- 25:08mean, you know, and I'm you know, we always have a fondness
- 25:11for our priests, even when they can be really difficult people. I had
- 25:15one that was well, he was a character. But if they're not doing
- 25:22their duty in enforcing the teaching of the church, literally enforcing, I mean
- 25:27you know, you could say, well, they should discipline Joe Biden and
- 25:33others because they're providing a bad example. Well know, they actually have a
- 25:36duty to save them from hell, and as Saint Paul said, that means
- 25:42excommunication, give them over to Satan until they're willing to go to confession and
- 25:49change their ways, and then they can receive community again and be part of
- 25:55the church again. That's if you're beloved. Parish priest is not doing that,
- 26:02he's, as I said, committing a greater sin and really putting himself
- 26:07in danger of hell. He's going to be held accountable for all the souls
- 26:11he didn't instruct and discipline and correct. I mean, that's part of being
- 26:18a shepherd. That's his pastoral duty. But we got to start with our
- 26:22bishops. You know, there was a priest in Florence, South Carolina who
- 26:26denied Joe Biden communion back during the primary Democrat primary. But three and three
- 26:34months ago, three years and three months ago, whatever, and it,
- 26:38I mean, people were just like freaked out. How dare he refuse Joe
- 26:41Biden the Eucharist? Well, it was his duty, and he said that
- 26:45this is my pastoral duty. I looked yesterday to see if he was still
- 26:52at I think it is Saint Anthony or St. Andrew. I don't remember
- 26:57the church in Florence, so Carolina, and apparently he's now retired and just
- 27:03kind of helps out occasionally in a smaller parish. I hope very much that
- 27:08he was not disciplined, you know, through being forced into retirement, because
- 27:17he stood for what was right. If he was, the bishops, the
- 27:21Bishop of Charleston needs a one hundred thousand, very strongly worded phone calls and
- 27:26emails. If he I mean, I don't know his age, I never
- 27:33met him. If he was ready to retire, hey, that's his business.
- 27:36If that was some kind of disciplinary action, that is shameful and actually
- 27:41very sinful. So we as the laity need to encourage our pastors and bishops
- 27:51to actually follow the teachings of the church. And you know what, if
- 27:56they want, don't put any money in the plate on put a note in
- 28:02telling them why you didn't. All right, y'all, have a good one.
- 28:07Remember the words of Saint Padre Pio, pray, hope and don't worry,
- 28:10and I'll talk to you next time.
