- 0:00Speaker 1: K y on its.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Culture at least, I guess in Japan sees it as
- 0:29Speaker 2: a tabit, taboo or horrifying or something oh dark and evil.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I guess I'll make it into a monster. And that's
- 0:38Speaker 2: why we're all monster fuckers. That's why we're all monster fuckers.
- 0:44Speaker 3: See that's that is our intro for this episode right there.
- 0:48Speaker 3: That's why we're all monsterfuckers.
- 0:50Speaker 1: That's why we're all monster buggers.
- 0:52Speaker 3: That's why we're all monsterg fuckers. And welcome back to
- 0:55Speaker 3: book watchers. Yeah, hey, what's going on? Uh, I'm your
- 1:01Speaker 3: I'm one of your hosts, Jacob. And of course this
- 1:04Speaker 3: is the beautiful, stunning, very bald wax best friend David's.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Stam and making me blush. Oh my god, what were boy?
- 1:16Speaker 1: What would our boyfriends think? Oh my god?
- 1:19Speaker 3: Wait, I'm sorry, you're blessing. Oh I thought you were
- 1:21Speaker 3: just read.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I mean I am, but oh my god, I thought
- 1:26Speaker 1: that was Oh you're good. I'm not that. Okay.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I may be that pale where I'm so pale, I'm red,
- 1:34Speaker 2: but like I can only make that joke okay about
- 1:38Speaker 2: my complexion. I know I'm pale.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I know I'm pale.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Trying to move back this rocking chairs a nightmare. It
- 1:50Speaker 2: does not move well on the carpet.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Neither does my desk chair. And I definitely need to
- 1:56Speaker 3: get like one of those carpets like those. Yeah, I
- 2:02Speaker 3: definitely need to go one of those classic cars for
- 2:03Speaker 3: my guess share, because I don't want to get one
- 2:05Speaker 3: because those things are pain in the ass. I hate
- 2:07Speaker 3: how like, uh yeah, it's supposed to like protect your
- 2:12Speaker 3: carpet and keep your rolling desk chair from like carrying
- 2:18Speaker 3: up the carpet, and I probably need to do that
- 2:19Speaker 3: because I don't want to damage this carpet. That the
- 2:21Speaker 3: same time, I don't want to do it because I've
- 2:25Speaker 3: used those before. They're not very big and you can't
- 2:28Speaker 3: really move very much with your like you can't really
- 2:32Speaker 3: move around very much with your desk chair, like even
- 2:34Speaker 3: just moving back and forth and like cause the wheels
- 2:37Speaker 3: to like go over the edge and get stuck there,
- 2:39Speaker 3: and you're just like deparent the assay anyway, of course,
- 2:46Speaker 3: look in the little welcome back. You look in the
- 2:48Speaker 3: little description down below, like down here.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Right down here, right there, right there. You know, you just.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Click that little spot, uh huh, yeah, click that little
- 2:59Speaker 3: spot that part of your screen people, that little alert bell. Yeah,
- 3:04Speaker 3: just click, yeah, this little link link will take you
- 3:09Speaker 3: to our to where you can find our other lovely podcasts.
- 3:14Speaker 3: All right, we got we got so many more. We
- 3:17Speaker 3: got book Watchers, we got boy Donica, we have ouk
- 3:21Speaker 3: Aca Lips.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Now, okay, so I think I am going to do
- 3:28Speaker 2: I think we are going to do this. So this
- 3:30Speaker 2: will be the last episode posted on YouTube, because I
- 3:34Speaker 2: will post this episode on YouTube for people who do
- 3:37Speaker 2: watch YouTube video our video podcast for YouTube. So this
- 3:43Speaker 2: will be the last episode posted on YouTube because if
- 3:46Speaker 2: you haven't already heard, I mean obviously, because this is
- 3:49Speaker 2: gonna come out in January. So, but the video podcast
- 3:54Speaker 2: is going to move to our Patreon and then they'll
- 3:57Speaker 2: be posted later.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I think.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I think I like that idea because eventually so yeah,
- 4:04Speaker 2: So basically what we're going to do is with the
- 4:06Speaker 2: Patreon description downscription below. I've been talking about the Patreon
- 4:11Speaker 2: for probably about a month now. A by the time
- 4:12Speaker 2: this gets released, the video portion of that will be released,
- 4:17Speaker 2: of course the same time as the non no ads
- 4:21Speaker 2: version of the episode on podcast audio. And then of course, yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 2: I think we should probably release I don't know, I
- 4:34Speaker 2: don't know. I'm just I don't know yet. I haven't
- 4:36Speaker 2: decided if I want to release it a month after
- 4:39Speaker 2: or just have a strictly beyond the Patreon. You'll find out,
- 4:41Speaker 2: because I'll make an announcement about it. You'll find out.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I need to think on that.
- 4:46Speaker 3: But we'll find out either here or on one of
- 4:48Speaker 3: the other podcasts or one of the other ones.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I'm sure you'll find out, or you'll or listen to
- 4:53Speaker 2: the podcast on Spotify or Apple podcasts and you'll probably
- 4:56Speaker 2: talk about there because those will be updated weekly as
- 5:00Speaker 2: per usual. But with the Patreon, I thinks are going
- 5:05Speaker 2: to change it a little bit. But you know, trying
- 5:08Speaker 2: to make a living off of this, ye, subscribe to
- 5:10Speaker 2: the patreon baby scoop scribe.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Help us out, help us with our budgeting. What is
- 5:17Speaker 3: it budgeting?
- 5:21Speaker 4: Mhm, what I'm trying.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I'm trying to be particulate and articulate the right word
- 5:31Speaker 3: our our but our budgeting careers. We want to start
- 5:36Speaker 3: a career as as content creators. We want to make
- 5:39Speaker 3: this our full time job. Because girls, ladies and gentlemen,
- 5:42Speaker 3: we work, we work customer service.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Well. I recently quit my job at the time of
- 5:47Speaker 1: this recording.
- 5:48Speaker 3: So I'm still here. While I'm still here, and let
- 5:53Speaker 3: me tell you something. There's literally I would literally rather
- 5:56Speaker 3: be doing anything else other than my day job. I
- 5:58Speaker 3: would we would love to be able to do, like
- 6:01Speaker 3: make content like this all the time, be able to
- 6:04Speaker 3: like come up with more episodes, like come up with
- 6:07Speaker 3: more content, more episodes, and be able to just focus
- 6:09Speaker 3: all of our time and if and energy on the
- 6:12Speaker 3: book watchers, yes, and of course and other neonyvoid production uh,
- 6:17Speaker 3: all our other neonicoid productions content all right, Like I'm
- 6:21Speaker 3: not part of spook Aucalypse, but occasionally I may make
- 6:23Speaker 3: an appearance there. We like, do we still do tea
- 6:27Speaker 3: the Gods? No, we haven't done that.
- 6:28Speaker 1: In a minute, it's still there. I still plan on
- 6:31Speaker 1: bringing it back someday. Just haven't done it. Haven't had
- 6:34Speaker 1: the time.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I might try that now, and then we also do
- 6:39Speaker 3: and then of course we have boyd Onaga or D
- 6:41Speaker 3: and D podcast, and there's so much more we want
- 6:44Speaker 3: to do, but we got jobs, we have daylight, we
- 6:47Speaker 3: have daily lives, and honestly, this is the life we
- 6:50Speaker 3: want to make, Okay. We want to be able to
- 6:53Speaker 3: sit here like we want to eventually make like get
- 6:55Speaker 3: our own studio where we can all sit together. We
- 6:57Speaker 3: can all do this in person, all right. Like I
- 7:00Speaker 3: set up my little space here, uh at my new
- 7:03Speaker 3: and my newish house. Okay, Devin has his own little
- 7:09Speaker 3: setup here, but like I set up my own little
- 7:11Speaker 3: this is like my actual reading corner. Like now now
- 7:14Speaker 3: my new house, my my room is bigger I have.
- 7:17Speaker 3: I had like all this empty space here. I bought
- 7:19Speaker 3: these new shelves, this chair because I wanted a little
- 7:21Speaker 3: space for me to be able to read and relax
- 7:23Speaker 3: and just like decompress. And this is also where I
- 7:27Speaker 3: record my podcast from. Yeah, all right, Like we just
- 7:31Speaker 3: want to be we want to be able to do
- 7:33Speaker 3: this for you guys all the time. We want to
- 7:35Speaker 3: be able to like put more, put more of our
- 7:37Speaker 3: time and our energy into it, all right. We want
- 7:40Speaker 3: to like cut out all that negativity from our day jobs.
- 7:43Speaker 3: All right. Well, Devin has already done that.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I literally didn't more than just that. I cut the cord.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Mm hmm. He was hanging by a thread and he
- 7:55Speaker 3: just cut it.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I'm like, I cut it with like fucking I cut it,
- 8:00Speaker 2: like stuff off killed.
- 8:01Speaker 1: What's your face? Fall and Fantasy seven. Oh my god.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Wow.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Oh that's that's dramatic. But yeah, it was. It was dramatic.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and speaking of Final Fantasy, we are that is
- 8:13Speaker 3: exactly what we are going to be reviewing today. No,
- 8:15Speaker 3: I'm just kidding.
- 8:15Speaker 1: We're I mean, you're not wrong the segue was there?
- 8:18Speaker 3: We yeah, true, we are going to be the books.
- 8:22Speaker 3: The books we're going to be reviewing for the next
- 8:24Speaker 3: few weeks. Uh and intermittedly we're not doing them all
- 8:28Speaker 3: in row.
- 8:28Speaker 2: But yeah, I think we're going to do like one
- 8:32Speaker 2: or two a month, depending at least two, at most two,
- 8:35Speaker 2: minimum of one per month. It's like this month will
- 8:38Speaker 2: be two of them, the last two weeks of January
- 8:41Speaker 2: will be this one and then the second book, but
- 8:43Speaker 2: nonetheless continue.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Yep. We're starting a new series today. Series that I
- 8:48Speaker 3: myself had just recently discovered earlier this year twenty twenty five.
- 8:52Speaker 3: So god, so good. I love it so much. We
- 8:55Speaker 3: are reviewing Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dennerman love all right.
- 9:01Speaker 3: I tell you guys, I kept hearing about Dungeon Crawler
- 9:05Speaker 3: Carl on on book talk. I was seeing I was
- 9:08Speaker 3: seeing all these book recommendations, and one that kept popping
- 9:11Speaker 3: up was Dungeon Crawler Carl. And when I first saw it,
- 9:15Speaker 3: I was like that, like, it looks kind of weird,
- 9:17Speaker 3: like seems very random. But then I read I read
- 9:20Speaker 3: like a description on it and based and when I
- 9:23Speaker 3: read the description, I was just like this this that's
- 9:29Speaker 3: I'm intrigued.
- 9:33Speaker 2: And then Jacob was telling me about it, and I'm like, oh,
- 9:36Speaker 2: listen to the audiobook sure, and I'm like.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Oh, uh huh.
- 9:40Speaker 3: So Dungeon Crawler Carl is from a recently more popularized genre,
- 9:46Speaker 3: and that is lit RPG, So literary RPG. So it's
- 9:50Speaker 3: very It's the style of writing the story is very
- 9:53Speaker 3: similar to like like reading something like a table at RPG,
- 9:59Speaker 3: a tabletop RP. All right, so just give you an idea. Uh.
- 10:03Speaker 3: The The book centers around a guy named Carl and
- 10:07Speaker 3: his and his uh Persian cat named Princess Donut love
- 10:14Speaker 3: Princess Don't love her now? What basically takes place in
- 10:19Speaker 3: a sort of post apocalyptic Earth. So one day Carl
- 10:23Speaker 3: is with the regular guy. He was just he had
- 10:26Speaker 3: just literally just broken up with his girlfriend who cheated
- 10:28Speaker 3: on him, and he was making plans to move on
- 10:31Speaker 3: with his life and and literally just right after his breakup,
- 10:38Speaker 3: the world literally the world collapses, so like everything just collapses,
- 10:45Speaker 3: and everybody inside, anybody who was inside the like any
- 10:48Speaker 3: standing structure just gets.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Flattened, crushed.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Carl rushed. Carl was lucky enough to be outside chasing
- 10:56Speaker 3: down his his ex girlfriend's cat who had gotten out.
- 10:59Speaker 3: And when this happened, he just grabbed the cat and
- 11:02Speaker 3: was just turning around to go back inside to his
- 11:04Speaker 3: apartment when all the buildings in Seattle, in Seattle just
- 11:07Speaker 3: completely just drops down into the ground. There's no rubble,
- 11:11Speaker 3: there's no destructive like explosions, just everything just goes straight down. Yeah,
- 11:17Speaker 3: and and everywhere in the world an announcement like this announcer,
- 11:23Speaker 3: they can hear the voice of an announcer telling them
- 11:25Speaker 3: that that Earth has been shows them for the new
- 11:27Speaker 3: season of the Dungeon Crawl. All right, So it's an
- 11:30Speaker 3: intergalactic reality TV show, all right, Like literally like it
- 11:36Speaker 3: there there is a show that every season there is
- 11:39Speaker 3: a new a new planet is selected, and that the
- 11:43Speaker 3: criteria for the planets are usually planets that have not
- 11:45Speaker 3: yet expanded out into the gall into the universe, and
- 11:50Speaker 3: these planets were pre seeded with life long, long time
- 11:55Speaker 3: ago by an ancient now extinct race, and inside the
- 11:58Speaker 3: planet there's there's like a special material that helped propagate
- 12:03Speaker 3: the help propagate life on the planet, and the Galactic
- 12:07Speaker 3: community minds uh comes to the planet and harvests this material.
- 12:13Speaker 3: The thing is is that as part of the harvesting,
- 12:16Speaker 3: they basically completely clear out the population on the planet.
- 12:20Speaker 3: And instead of just instead of just killing everybody outright
- 12:25Speaker 3: and taking the resources, they decided to make a game
- 12:27Speaker 3: out of it.
- 12:28Speaker 1: So every season, there's before we go any further.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Uh, so, we're gonna kind of change the structure of
- 12:39Speaker 2: book Watters a little bit, kind of make it a
- 12:41Speaker 2: little more what's the word organized organized? Yeah, that was
- 12:48Speaker 2: the word we're going to organized. So before going further,
- 12:52Speaker 2: of course, the series is written by Matt Dinniman.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Dem I was gonna look to that. Oh you're want
- 13:00Speaker 3: to get to okay, Yeah, I just wanted to give
- 13:02Speaker 3: like this, just give the basic synopsis first and then
- 13:06Speaker 3: we were going to go into the production and then
- 13:07Speaker 3: get into the story. That's that's what's.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Gonna Okay, I'll cut that part out.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Continue. Yeah, So every season, the Glas community schedules a
- 13:16Speaker 3: different kind of crawl. The series itself is basically just
- 13:19Speaker 3: called a crawl. And whether it's a dungeon crawl or
- 13:22Speaker 3: like some like world like based planet size like competition,
- 13:28Speaker 3: it's always it's always in the style of some form
- 13:30Speaker 3: of game show. Right. In this case, Earth has been
- 13:33Speaker 3: chosen for a literal dungeon crawl. So every structure in
- 13:36Speaker 3: the planet, all the building materials on the planet was
- 13:38Speaker 3: collapsed and repurposed for the dungeon that was built beneath
- 13:43Speaker 3: the surface of the planet, and any surviving human so
- 13:46Speaker 3: any person that was lucky enough to be outside of
- 13:48Speaker 3: their buildings, they are given the chance. They're given the
- 13:51Speaker 3: opportunity to enter the dungeon and compete in the dungeon crawl,
- 13:55Speaker 3: or just stay on the surface and just live out
- 13:58Speaker 3: their life. They're based. They been forced to. They've been
- 14:01Speaker 3: regressed back to a pre industrial state now, so all
- 14:06Speaker 3: like building materials, everything that they had is now gone.
- 14:09Speaker 3: They're basically starting over. So it's either like survive on
- 14:13Speaker 3: the surface of the planet in a pre industrial state.
- 14:15Speaker 3: You're basically returning back to like time before like electricity,
- 14:19Speaker 3: you know, before we had like any of these more
- 14:21Speaker 3: advanced tools and like technology or you can or you
- 14:25Speaker 3: can go down into the dungeon and take uh and
- 14:29Speaker 3: take and like take part in their level based game.
- 14:34Speaker 3: All right, So before we go into the full plot
- 14:37Speaker 3: with the full story with Karl and his ex girlfriend's
- 14:40Speaker 3: Persian cat, uh, we're gonn talking about We're just gonna
- 14:44Speaker 3: talk a little bit about the development of the story. Uh.
- 14:48Speaker 3: So we're gonna we're gonna actually like do some things
- 14:52Speaker 3: a little bit different now because mainly we've just talked
- 14:54Speaker 3: about the stories. And of course, uh, of course we
- 14:57Speaker 3: we give major kudos to the author. So of course
- 15:01Speaker 3: the author of this series is called his name is
- 15:04Speaker 3: Matt Dinneman. And this time we're actually gonna be going
- 15:08Speaker 3: into a bit more of production, like his what inspired
- 15:11Speaker 3: him to write the book, the author to write the book,
- 15:14Speaker 3: production value, like how well it was received, and just
- 15:19Speaker 3: like some little fun facts about the story and how
- 15:24Speaker 3: it was received by the public. So Dungeon Crawler Carl,
- 15:27Speaker 3: of course is lit RPG. So it's literary RPG has
- 15:31Speaker 3: become very very popular thanks thanks to like things like
- 15:36Speaker 3: book talk other social media. All right, it's really popular,
- 15:41Speaker 3: and it's also because of how popular Dungeons and Dragons
- 15:44Speaker 3: has become so more and more people, more and more
- 15:47Speaker 3: authors are writing stories based off of like RPGs, like
- 15:50Speaker 3: role playing style fantasy style stories. Denneman himself was also
- 15:57Speaker 3: inspired in a similar way, so Matt Deniman. He actually
- 16:02Speaker 3: began start. He began writing Dungeon Crawler Carl back in
- 16:05Speaker 3: twenty nineteen, and Dungeon Crawler Carl was originally published as
- 16:10Speaker 3: an e book was published online as an ebook in
- 16:14Speaker 3: twenty twenty. So this series is about five years old.
- 16:18Speaker 3: There are now seven books in the series. And it
- 16:20Speaker 3: wasn't until recently, more recently in about let me see here,
- 16:25Speaker 3: when did he sign his publication?
- 16:28Speaker 1: Oh, when he started ACE. That was back in twenty
- 16:32Speaker 1: twenty four.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Yeah, So originally Denniman began published was more was self
- 16:39Speaker 3: published and he started and he started publishing through a
- 16:44Speaker 3: company called Royal a publisher called Royal Road in twenty twenty.
- 16:47Speaker 3: That's when he first started publishing Dungeon Crawler Carl. So
- 16:50Speaker 3: it was where it was originally published. It was published
- 16:52Speaker 3: as an e book, and it wasn't until last year
- 16:55Speaker 3: that hardcover books were being published like in retails like Barnes, Noble, Amazon.
- 17:03Speaker 3: It was in twenty twenty that he published. He self
- 17:05Speaker 3: published the series on Amazon and an ebook and paperback format,
- 17:11Speaker 3: so it was just like so the series was like
- 17:13Speaker 3: definitely one of those like more like kind of indie.
- 17:16Speaker 3: This was definitely more of an indie book at the time.
- 17:19Speaker 3: But it has since like launched itself into popularity all right,
- 17:23Speaker 3: since its publication, it's sold over. I just had the
- 17:29Speaker 3: number here, excuse me, so, so far since its publication,
- 17:38Speaker 3: since the first four books published through was published through
- 17:42Speaker 3: ace Is, the books have sold over fifty five thousand copies.
- 17:47Speaker 2: That's not bad as of December twenty twenty four. By
- 17:50Speaker 2: now is probably a whole lot more than that.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Definitely a whole lot more than that. And we all
- 17:56Speaker 3: and the seventh the seventh book in the series, the
- 18:00Speaker 3: series This Inevitable Ruin, which we will review sometime later
- 18:04Speaker 3: down the line. We're gonna be pacing ourselves. So that
- 18:06Speaker 3: was published was originally published last year, but it was
- 18:10Speaker 3: also republished this year in hardcome in hardcover format this
- 18:14Speaker 3: year in September, and fun and also great news, we're
- 18:18Speaker 3: getting a We're getting an eighth book. So it's a
- 18:22Speaker 3: parade of horrors and the Parade of horribles Yich will
- 18:25Speaker 3: be published later in twenty twenty six. It's sometime in June, May.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Or June now.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Also, there's a TV adaptation in the works with Seth
- 18:36Speaker 2: McFarland's Fuzzy Door Productions with Universal Studios that was announced
- 18:40Speaker 2: back in twenty twenty four. There's also a webcomic on
- 18:45Speaker 2: Webtune Read it. It's fun. It's fun.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I love it.
- 18:50Speaker 2: And then they're actually making a graphic novel separate from Webtune.
- 18:55Speaker 1: It's different.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Yes, it's called Dungeon Crawler Carl Crocodile.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 3: So it's gonna be published by Vault Comics.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Of course, and then of course they're go on.
- 19:07Speaker 3: So that sele graphic novel was announced earlier this year
- 19:10Speaker 3: in August, and its course following. Another character in the
- 19:18Speaker 3: series is Lauren. He doesn't it. Lauren doesn't really get introduced,
- 19:21Speaker 3: and so I think Lore four three or four.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think it's like three or four. He
- 19:29Speaker 1: gets introduced.
- 19:32Speaker 2: And then of course they're releasing a tabletop RPG, Redungeon
- 19:38Speaker 2: Crawler Carl from the set in the Junger Crawl Carlor Universe,
- 19:42Speaker 2: which is gotted to come out in twenty twenty six
- 19:44Speaker 2: by the same guys by Renegade Games, the same guys
- 19:47Speaker 2: who did I think Power Rangers. Yes, they did the
- 19:51Speaker 2: Power Rangers tabletop RPG, which I love. In one of
- 19:56Speaker 2: these days I will do on the pod later on
- 20:00Speaker 2: between D and D games. But yeah, so they're making
- 20:03Speaker 2: a tabletop RPG of setting in the same universe, and
- 20:07Speaker 2: I can't wait for that because I want that.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Give me, give me. I want to make an AI
- 20:11Speaker 1: an absurd ai. Oh my god.
- 20:15Speaker 3: And speaking of AI's all right, let me tell you something.
- 20:19Speaker 3: We're gonna go ahead and go back to the story.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Start going back into the story. When it for each
- 20:26Speaker 3: dungeon crawl, the Galactic Syndicate sets up an AI to
- 20:31Speaker 3: basically run the entire crawl, right, So it's in charge
- 20:35Speaker 3: of making sure the rules are followed. It's in charge
- 20:38Speaker 3: of setting up the mobs, all right. The mobs are
- 20:40Speaker 3: the are like the monsters, like the the non player
- 20:45Speaker 3: character bad guys that they have to that the crawlers
- 20:48Speaker 3: have to fight and pill and survive against. And you know,
- 20:51Speaker 3: it sets the rules. It controls the shape and form
- 20:55Speaker 3: of the dungeon. All right. It's set it'll set traps,
- 20:58Speaker 3: it'll create like its own little events in the and
- 21:01Speaker 3: quests in the in the dungeon all right, it's designs,
- 21:05Speaker 3: its purpose is to like make it as entertaining as possible.
- 21:09Speaker 3: The problem with this AI, though, is that the deeper
- 21:12Speaker 3: into the dungeon you go, so like typically they's dungeons
- 21:15Speaker 3: have eighteen floors, and now so far in the entire
- 21:22Speaker 3: so far in the entire run of the dungeon crawl,
- 21:24Speaker 3: that no one has ever made it to floor eighteen.
- 21:27Speaker 3: The furthest anyone has ever gotten, and it's later revealed
- 21:30Speaker 3: in the story is like floor twelve or thirteen. It's
- 21:36Speaker 3: one of those two floors. By that point, usually the
- 21:39Speaker 3: surviving crawlers have all died or by that point the
- 21:43Speaker 3: syndicate syndicate sponsors will begin to like make uh give
- 21:49Speaker 3: out contracts to certain like popular dungeon crawlers, so if
- 21:53Speaker 3: they want to, if they reach it, they'll reach a
- 21:55Speaker 3: certain point where it's like, yeah, we're pretty much all dead.
- 21:57Speaker 3: They're pretty much all dead, and the and the story
- 21:59Speaker 3: is in to go on isn't going to go on
- 22:01Speaker 3: any further than this. So the surviving crawlers are given
- 22:05Speaker 3: the choice to can either try to continue through the
- 22:08Speaker 3: next floor and risk their inh with like the high
- 22:13Speaker 3: possibility of dying, or they can take a contract, they
- 22:16Speaker 3: can take like a sponsorship get out of the dungeon
- 22:19Speaker 3: early and basically enter in as sort of like indentureship.
- 22:24Speaker 3: So they'll continue to be in future dungeon crawls, but
- 22:27Speaker 3: the crawlers will be acting as like non player characters,
- 22:30Speaker 3: so like either tutorial guides like store like shop keepers,
- 22:36Speaker 3: other like story guides, or guild or like guild masters
- 22:40Speaker 3: or even like in some in some cases, like there's
- 22:43Speaker 3: like there's like some characters that give out prizes, and
- 22:47Speaker 3: like if if a dungeon crawler is rewarded like a
- 22:50Speaker 3: special loop box and it gives them like an option
- 22:53Speaker 3: to choose from like a kind of like a pinball
- 22:56Speaker 3: machine style like game ward, then that then that former
- 23:00Speaker 3: crawler will just be the person that like oversees that
- 23:03Speaker 3: and gives out the prize. And and that's another thing
- 23:06Speaker 3: about the and that is also another thing about the
- 23:09Speaker 3: dungeon crawl is that it's it's a very like it
- 23:12Speaker 3: takes place. It takes like uh like RPG style gameplay
- 23:17Speaker 3: mixed with like chat based gaming. So like if you're
- 23:20Speaker 3: an online if you're like a PC gamer. You know
- 23:22Speaker 3: a lot of like RP online RPGs have like the
- 23:24Speaker 3: little chat that you commune that you talk with your
- 23:26Speaker 3: other players with. So like that chat based system is
- 23:30Speaker 3: a similar chat based system exists in Dungeon Crawler. In
- 23:34Speaker 3: the Dungeon Crawl, it's level based so as so you
- 23:38Speaker 3: like the players are actually leveling up as they go.
- 23:41Speaker 3: As they go on, they earn experience, they go up levels,
- 23:43Speaker 3: they can choose classes, they can actually choose races, like
- 23:46Speaker 3: different non human races. They can and they can be transformed.
- 23:51Speaker 3: And then also there's a reward style system at like
- 23:55Speaker 3: achievement based reward style system that is given Dungeon to
- 24:00Speaker 3: give into crawlers for like different for like different things
- 24:04Speaker 3: they do in the dungeon. So for example, Carl uh
- 24:09Speaker 3: after after the collapse, and Carl decides to answer the dungeon,
- 24:13Speaker 3: Oh did I lose you?
- 24:16Speaker 4: Okay?
- 24:17Speaker 3: So when so after the collapse, Carl makes the decision
- 24:21Speaker 3: to go ahead and answer the dungeon. The thing is like,
- 24:25Speaker 3: the thing is that when Carl chased Princess Chase, his
- 24:28Speaker 3: ex girlfriend's cat, Princess Donut, Princess Donuts name it's like, uh,
- 24:34Speaker 3: hold on, let me, let me pull up her full name.
- 24:38Speaker 3: This cat has a full name. Okay, it's not just
- 24:43Speaker 3: Princess Donut.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Hold on, it's not. She has a full name like
- 24:51Speaker 1: my cat does.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Yep. So Princess donuts full name is g C B
- 24:59Speaker 3: W A n W. Princess Donut, the Queen Anne Schank.
- 25:05Speaker 3: That is her government name. I usually just most of
- 25:09Speaker 3: the characters in this story in this story referred to
- 25:11Speaker 3: her as Donut or Princess Donut. Occasionally she just introduces
- 25:15Speaker 3: herself as Princess Donut the Queen Ane Schank. But whenever,
- 25:18Speaker 3: but sometimes when she's being extra she'll go for her
- 25:20Speaker 3: full government name. And yes, you must be wondering, wait,
- 25:24Speaker 3: how does a cat introduced herself. We're gonna get to that.
- 25:27Speaker 3: So we will get to that, because when she answers
- 25:30Speaker 3: the dungeon, she's it's a normal house cat. She is
- 25:32Speaker 3: a tortoises bell Persian cat. Love that lovers like, so full,
- 25:37Speaker 3: squash faced cat, all right, really mischievous and like any cat,
- 25:43Speaker 3: an asshole. You're right, So, so what happens so basically,
- 25:50Speaker 3: like what happened leading up to the dungeon crawl, Carl
- 25:53Speaker 3: had broken up with his girlfriend. He saw she had
- 25:56Speaker 3: taken a vacation to the Bahamas without him, and he
- 25:59Speaker 3: saw on a post on social media with her and
- 26:01Speaker 3: her ex boyfriend, clearly they had taken the trip together. Carl,
- 26:07Speaker 3: not wanting to deal with bullshit, breaks up with her
- 26:08Speaker 3: immediately and starts making plans to move out of their apartment.
- 26:12Speaker 3: He's since Donut doesn't belong to him, he has to
- 26:16Speaker 3: figure out something to get like the cat taken care of.
- 26:19Speaker 3: While he's figuring these things out, he's just in his apartment.
- 26:22Speaker 3: You know, he's just at home. He's he's just at home.
- 26:25Speaker 3: You're at home. What do you like, What are you
- 26:26Speaker 3: gonna do? Just sit around? Just sit around playing games
- 26:29Speaker 3: in your underwear? And that's what he was. Then that's
- 26:31Speaker 3: what he's doing. Hey, all right, that's that post. That's
- 26:35Speaker 3: that post. Break of mentality, my guy, all right, he
- 26:38Speaker 3: made some miss The thing is like, it's it's winter
- 26:40Speaker 3: in Seattle, so it's freezing cold outside, all right, and
- 26:43Speaker 3: he makes a mistake of leaving the window open and
- 26:45Speaker 3: Donut escapes, so so he's forced to throw on a
- 26:49Speaker 3: jacket and his and since he has no nothing else
- 26:53Speaker 3: to wear, he didn't have anything else to quickly throw
- 26:55Speaker 3: on for footwear. He ends up throwing on his his
- 26:58Speaker 3: ex's Hello Kitty Crocks Yeah, and runs outside to chase
- 27:04Speaker 3: down donut. He manages to get donut, and this attracts
- 27:07Speaker 3: the attention of one of his neighbors, who sticks her
- 27:09Speaker 3: head out her window to like ask him what's going on?
- 27:11Speaker 3: And this was pretty a gruesome scene because just as
- 27:13Speaker 3: he turns to response her after pick after grabbing donut, wow, wow,
- 27:19Speaker 3: all the buildings yep, because she was sticking her head
- 27:22Speaker 3: out the window. When the buildings all collapse instant decapitation.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Carlo's shocks. He's he there? So there he was standing
- 27:32Speaker 3: on the side on the sidewalk of Seattle. Every building
- 27:36Speaker 3: in the city has completely just flattened, all right, no
- 27:39Speaker 3: rubble there. He was in just a jacket, a wife beater,
- 27:46Speaker 3: some some heart boxer shorts and Hello Kitty Crocks. This
- 27:51Speaker 3: man was literally not prepared for the Dungeon Crawl, right,
- 27:54Speaker 3: He was not prepared to be outside in this cold weather,
- 27:58Speaker 3: was all right?
- 28:00Speaker 6: Then he gets Then he hears the announcement from the
- 28:03Speaker 6: announcement that the the new season of the Crawl has
- 28:06Speaker 6: begun and that all around the world entrance the stairways
- 28:09Speaker 6: have opened up leading.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Down into the dungeon. All right, the announcer, get the
- 28:15Speaker 3: announcer who is a representative of a of a fish
- 28:18Speaker 3: like race called the quats In. All right, or wait,
- 28:22Speaker 3: what do they call again? Let's see the uh so
- 28:38Speaker 3: does they have a yeah, quats In that's what they're called.
- 28:42Speaker 3: So the crawl. So every year, every year the dungeon
- 28:46Speaker 3: crawl is uh the crawl is sponsored by like a
- 28:51Speaker 3: different race, so like they're they're in charge of it,
- 28:53Speaker 3: and depending on the race, they may do like something different.
- 28:56Speaker 3: So the quats In typically do dungeon crawls. So quats
- 29:00Speaker 3: In are basically like fish people. Yeah, think like the
- 29:04Speaker 3: SpongeBob fishes. You know, they're fish people that send on
- 29:08Speaker 3: two feet. Yeah, you think about you if you if
- 29:11Speaker 3: you want like a good image, just think of that. Honestly,
- 29:14Speaker 3: just think of that, or think of that one goldfish
- 29:18Speaker 3: from picking little you know, if you listen, if you
- 29:25Speaker 3: if you want like an image, just think of these
- 29:27Speaker 3: really ridiculous things, because honestly, the quats in are not
- 29:30Speaker 3: really they're not anything like special. They're just fish people.
- 29:34Speaker 3: But they're they're spot they're the ones who sponsor the
- 29:38Speaker 3: who are hosting the Dungeon Crawl. So they've taken over Earth,
- 29:41Speaker 3: create and built the Dungeon and uh that like deep
- 29:44Speaker 3: beneath the surface of the planet. All right. Then the
- 29:47Speaker 3: announcer tells any survivors of Earth that they have a
- 29:51Speaker 3: chance to face to win the planet back the Dungeon Crawl. Like,
- 29:56Speaker 3: if you win the Dungeon Crawl, you have a chance
- 29:58Speaker 3: to basically just get your whole planet back, and they'll
- 30:01Speaker 3: basically put everything back into order, like rebuild everything, and
- 30:05Speaker 3: they'll leave, they'll leave you alone. But you have to
- 30:08Speaker 3: get through all eighteen floors of the dungeon. The first
- 30:12Speaker 3: step sham, yep. So the first, the very first step
- 30:16Speaker 3: is to enter the dungeon, all right. And they're stairways
- 30:21Speaker 3: all over the world there, all over the world. They
- 30:23Speaker 3: were multiple In Seattle, Carl himself managed it was not
- 30:27Speaker 3: that far from one of the from one of the
- 30:30Speaker 3: stairways that opens and the quadsend. Do make it clear
- 30:34Speaker 3: that you don't have to enter the dungeon, all right.
- 30:36Speaker 3: If he's if you were standing outside when the collapse happens,
- 30:40Speaker 3: all right, you're free to do whatever you want. They're
- 30:42Speaker 3: not going to hurt you, all right, They're not going
- 30:45Speaker 3: to help you, but they're you're free to just survive
- 30:48Speaker 3: off of any resources you can gather.
- 30:51Speaker 4: All right.
- 30:51Speaker 3: You'll you'll basically just have to start over from scratch,
- 30:54Speaker 3: Like everyone's gonna have to start over from scratch. Unfortunately.
- 30:58Speaker 3: So Carl realizing that he is not prepared to survive
- 31:02Speaker 3: in a Seattle winter. It's snowing, it is below freezing outside,
- 31:06Speaker 3: all right. He is literally in his underwear, all right,
- 31:11Speaker 3: He's half naked, does not have proper footwear, and only
- 31:15Speaker 3: only kind of protection he has is his coat and
- 31:19Speaker 3: a cat. Yeah, that's it. So Carl makes the decision
- 31:24Speaker 3: to go down into the dungeon. So he finds the
- 31:26Speaker 3: nearest stairwell and enters the dungeon. And upon immediately entering
- 31:29Speaker 3: the dungeon, he gets to the note he immediately gets
- 31:32Speaker 3: an achievement telling him that he congratulations, you were one
- 31:35Speaker 3: of the first like ten thousand, like like five ten
- 31:38Speaker 3: thousand people to enter the dungeon. And also he gets
- 31:42Speaker 3: an achievement for being the first crawler to enter the
- 31:45Speaker 3: dungeon with a cat. And because of that, it awards
- 31:49Speaker 3: him with a legendary loop box, a legendary pet box. Yeah,
- 31:55Speaker 3: so they every time they get a like a loop
- 31:57Speaker 3: like a like a really good achievement, they get a
- 31:59Speaker 3: loop box of some time of some kind, ranging from
- 32:02Speaker 3: a copper loop box all the way up to legendary.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Like the very best loop box you can get in
- 32:06Speaker 3: this series is the is the celestial loop box. Like
- 32:10Speaker 3: there's there, well, there's another one. There's there's a celestial
- 32:13Speaker 3: loop box, and then there's also an infernal loop box,
- 32:15Speaker 3: which is kind of like the celestial but inferno but
- 32:17Speaker 3: it's not as rare and it's not as good, but
- 32:21Speaker 3: still in any case, he answers. The dungeon gets those,
- 32:25Speaker 3: he gets those, not like he gets those achievements, and
- 32:30Speaker 3: he's like, Okay, what do I do from here? He
- 32:32Speaker 3: keeps falling, he keeps going down the he keeps going
- 32:35Speaker 3: down the stairs, and finally enters the dungeon. All Right,
- 32:39Speaker 3: the dungeon looks like nothing fancy really, it's like what
- 32:43Speaker 3: which you It's what you expect with in like an
- 32:46Speaker 3: underground like dungeon style complex. Right, there's tunnels, there's archways,
- 32:51Speaker 3: there's like different doorways lining the path, he notices oddly
- 32:55Speaker 3: enough that they're like every like few dozen feet. There's
- 32:58Speaker 3: bathrooms everywhere. There's bathrooms everywhere.
- 33:03Speaker 1: I mean, i mean, great, fabulous love that. But oh
- 33:07Speaker 1: if the guy pe I's going to the bathroom's one
- 33:09Speaker 1: right there?
- 33:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and uh, he he's as he's searching, he notices
- 33:14Speaker 3: that there are that there's signs leading to what is
- 33:17Speaker 3: called a tutorial guild or like a tutorial guide, and
- 33:21Speaker 3: uh and there's signs pointing into the direction into like
- 33:24Speaker 3: a off into like the distance. So he decides, okay, well,
- 33:27Speaker 3: if he's gonna figure things out, he's gonna need to
- 33:30Speaker 3: go to the editorial guild. So he's also figuring out
- 33:34Speaker 3: that he now has like an heads up display. He
- 33:37Speaker 3: can access a chat, but he since he hasn't met
- 33:39Speaker 3: any other crawlers, any other dungeon crawlers, he can't really
- 33:43Speaker 3: message anybody. He doesn't really know how to act. He
- 33:45Speaker 3: can't access his uh his inventory just yet because the
- 33:50Speaker 3: tutorial guide has to activate that for him. He has
- 33:53Speaker 3: no other weapons to defend himself, so he's trying to
- 33:56Speaker 3: be very careful. But as he's going, as he's like
- 33:59Speaker 3: going deeper into the dungeon, Donut jumps out of his
- 34:02Speaker 3: arms and runs off. He has to chase her. He
- 34:05Speaker 3: tries to chase her down and ends up running into goblins.
- 34:10Speaker 1: M goblins mm hmm.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Now, the thing is is that when he runs into
- 34:16Speaker 3: the goblins, it was an obvious in a very obvious trap,
- 34:21Speaker 3: but it ends up getting tripped anyway because of Donut.
- 34:24Speaker 3: So he has to run away from these goblins because
- 34:26Speaker 3: there's only three goblins. But the thing is is that
- 34:28Speaker 3: these three goblins are driving like a sort of like
- 34:31Speaker 3: stooped up like what are those things called that? Like
- 34:36Speaker 3: they're like they're like these they're basically a motorized sweeper.
- 34:41Speaker 3: They're like a vacuum and a suite mixed together. But
- 34:43Speaker 3: they're like this big kind of like uh, they're like
- 34:46Speaker 3: they're like these big kind of it's what are those called,
- 34:51Speaker 3: like a ATV style like little vehicles like they ever
- 34:56Speaker 3: been into like a warehouse or like at like a superstore.
- 35:00Speaker 3: And you see this dude just driving by and he
- 35:02Speaker 3: has he's basically driving a sweeper, like a backroom sweep.
- 35:05Speaker 3: It's one of those, except it's arms to the teeth.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, are you enjoying him? Struggling because I've
- 35:12Speaker 2: kind of get a little laugh out of it.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I don't know what those empties. I don't know what
- 35:17Speaker 3: those things are called. Okay, don't judge me. I know
- 35:20Speaker 3: what those like. Like I wanted to call it an
- 35:24Speaker 3: ice sweeper, because I know what those ice sweepers are called,
- 35:26Speaker 3: you know, like an ice rings. So they have those
- 35:28Speaker 3: like things that those guys drive to like smooth out
- 35:30Speaker 3: the ice and ship. Yeah, except it just sweeps off
- 35:34Speaker 3: concrete floors. Anyway, he runs. So anyway, the point is
- 35:37Speaker 3: Carl runs into a trap, and the trap is three
- 35:39Speaker 3: goblins riding a fucking sweeper that's arms to the teeth
- 35:42Speaker 3: with like all these kind of spikes and like and
- 35:46Speaker 3: like buzz saws and ship and it ends up chasing
- 35:48Speaker 3: him down and down further into the dungeon. All right, donut.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Surprisingly is like running to like running in the same direction,
- 35:56Speaker 3: and they managed to get to uh, they managed to
- 35:59Speaker 3: find the tutorial ill he goes. He tries to open it,
- 36:02Speaker 3: but it's not it's not unlocked yet.
- 36:04Speaker 7: And he's counting on the door, like begging for someone
- 36:07Speaker 7: to let him in.
- 36:07Speaker 8: And the person that ends up opening the door is
- 36:10Speaker 8: a is a former dungeon crawler named Mordecai. So Mordecai
- 36:15Speaker 8: was a dungeon crawler from one of.
- 36:18Speaker 7: The previous seasons. He was originally from a race called Skyfoul,
- 36:21Speaker 7: which are bird people kind of like if you're a
- 36:24Speaker 7: D and D player. They're like the Ara cocra, except
- 36:27Speaker 7: they're more like instead of like you know, the air cocra,
- 36:30Speaker 7: who are humanoid and then they have wings coming out
- 36:32Speaker 7: of their back.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Ye. The sky fowl are just like they're just more
- 36:36Speaker 3: they look more bird like. They still retain like bird
- 36:39Speaker 3: like features, but they're intelligent. And the thing is Mordecai
- 36:44Speaker 3: is when he was a dungeon crawler, he took on
- 36:47Speaker 3: the he took on a race that allows him to
- 36:52Speaker 3: like a shape shifter race, a changing race. So he
- 36:56Speaker 3: the way he appears. What did he what did he
- 37:00Speaker 3: look like in the first.
- 37:03Speaker 8: Uh?
- 37:03Speaker 2: First floor? Oh god, what was he in the first floor?
- 37:09Speaker 2: I don't think he was a birdman?
- 37:11Speaker 3: No he was, and he was like was he No,
- 37:13Speaker 3: he was a toad in the first floor.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Yes, he was a toad in the first floor.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Yeah he was. He like every for some reason, h
- 37:20Speaker 3: Mordecai now no longer can control his transformations because when
- 37:24Speaker 3: he was a dungeon crawler, Mordecai could like transform himself
- 37:27Speaker 3: at will because being a changeline. But uh, when he
- 37:33Speaker 3: but when he takes his contract to leave, to leave
- 37:36Speaker 3: his dungeon, he became a guild master. He became a guilt,
- 37:40Speaker 3: a tutorial master, a tutorial guide. And when he became
- 37:44Speaker 3: a tutorial guide, part of his contract is like every
- 37:46Speaker 3: floor that he goes through, like each new dungeon. Uh,
- 37:50Speaker 3: he's randomly transformed into a different into a different race.
- 37:53Speaker 3: So he no longer has control over his transformation. So
- 37:56Speaker 3: for the very first time that they meet that, Karl
- 37:58Speaker 3: and Donut meet Mordecai. Guy, he's in the form of
- 38:01Speaker 3: a toad person. Yeah so opens Yeah, he's he was
- 38:06Speaker 3: adorable and he's pretty funny. He's like he's like the
- 38:09Speaker 3: real MVP if you ask me.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Yeah, most definitely love him, love him yep.
- 38:17Speaker 3: So Mordecai lets him, lets him into the guild. The
- 38:19Speaker 3: Goblins almost get into the guild, but Mordecai has to
- 38:22Speaker 3: shot at them and remind uh and remind the mobs
- 38:25Speaker 3: that they cannot answer the guild and he manages to
- 38:27Speaker 3: shut them out.
- 38:29Speaker 8: Uh.
- 38:31Speaker 3: These for some reason, the goblins are like really insistent
- 38:36Speaker 3: on getting into the guild to try to kill the
- 38:38Speaker 3: the two to kill the crawl, the one dungeon crawler,
- 38:41Speaker 3: so Karl eventually shoot like Karl does run back out
- 38:45Speaker 3: there temporarily and manages to kill the to kill all
- 38:50Speaker 3: three of the of the goblins, and he doesn't, but
- 38:54Speaker 3: he he realizes the goblins are not that strong, so
- 38:56Speaker 3: he manages to like just basically ground one and throw
- 39:00Speaker 3: it onto the spikes of their own vehicle. And the
- 39:03Speaker 3: thing is is that the Goblin built the Goblin built
- 39:05Speaker 3: vehicle was not very stable, and without the little Goblin
- 39:09Speaker 3: engineer on it keeping it from blowing up, the machine
- 39:14Speaker 3: event actually blows up and Carl has to quickly run
- 39:17Speaker 3: back in to the Storial Guild before it blows up
- 39:20Speaker 3: and kills him. Yeah, after gett into the Theatorial, Mordecai
- 39:25Speaker 3: helps Mordecai helps Carl by activating his fully activating his
- 39:30Speaker 3: heads up display as well as giving him access to
- 39:33Speaker 3: his inventory. Mordechai is surprised is actually despite being like
- 39:38Speaker 3: a kind of down on his look type of character,
- 39:41Speaker 3: you know, kind of like he's like a borderline alcoholic
- 39:44Speaker 3: without the alcohol you thinking about it, because he has
- 39:48Speaker 3: that kind of mentality. Ah, he's actually really good storial back.
- 39:52Speaker 3: He's a really good tutorial guy. All right. He doesn't
- 39:55Speaker 3: hold anything back. He tells Carl like, listen, you're fucked,
- 39:58Speaker 3: You're fucked.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Literally he holds he does not hold back. You're fucked.
- 40:03Speaker 3: You're you're fucked, You're fucked. All right. The the like,
- 40:08Speaker 3: I think there was what like fourteen million people that
- 40:11Speaker 3: manage that actually go into the dungeon, Like over fourteen
- 40:14Speaker 3: million people that enters the dungeon something like that. There
- 40:18Speaker 3: wasn't there was a lot, but there wasn't a lot.
- 40:20Speaker 3: I think that.
- 40:21Speaker 7: Yeah, And.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Uh, he's he's very blunt and upfront with Carl. And
- 40:29Speaker 3: there are a couple there are a few times throughout
- 40:31Speaker 3: the series where Mordecai like almost says something you know,
- 40:37Speaker 3: you know, non plus towards uh, towards the uh showrunners.
- 40:41Speaker 3: But the thing is that the AI, the AI and
- 40:44Speaker 3: the showrunners really regulate what the what the former Crawler
- 40:48Speaker 3: NPCs can say and do. So if they do anything
- 40:52Speaker 3: that violates their contract, they may get like they may
- 40:55Speaker 3: get to like shoved back into like store in cold
- 40:58Speaker 3: storage and not be let out until the next ball season,
- 41:01Speaker 3: and they may even see like an extension into their
- 41:04Speaker 3: indenture ship. Because the thing is is that dungeon Crawler, like,
- 41:09Speaker 3: if you take a contract, you can be indentured for
- 41:12Speaker 3: thousands of years because it's based on it's by season,
- 41:15Speaker 3: all right. They do it by season, all right, Like you, okay,
- 41:19Speaker 3: so if you take this contract, you'll serve us for
- 41:21Speaker 3: the next hundred seasons. You would think like, oh, okay,
- 41:24Speaker 3: one hundred seasons. That's like one hundred years. That's not
- 41:27Speaker 3: that's no big deal. It's a big deal because seasons
- 41:30Speaker 3: don't happen every year. New seasons don't happen every year.
- 41:33Speaker 3: They happen every few hundred years. They can happen avery
- 41:36Speaker 3: few like maybe every few decades or every few hundred years.
- 41:41Speaker 3: So Mordecai by this point is on like his sixth season,
- 41:46Speaker 3: six or seventh season, which is probably a little over
- 41:49Speaker 3: one thousand years by now.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Probably.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Yeah, so he's been he's been indentured for a very
- 41:56Speaker 3: long time. And Carls even surprised to realize that Mordecai
- 42:01Speaker 3: is surprisingly well, like very familiar with like Earth culture
- 42:06Speaker 3: and you know, like popular culture, popular media, movies, gaming
- 42:12Speaker 3: things like that, like very like he's very educated on
- 42:14Speaker 3: like how human like how human Earth culture was like,
- 42:18Speaker 3: and Mordecai reveals that he was already he had been
- 42:20Speaker 3: sent to Earth like sixty years before the crawl too,
- 42:26Speaker 3: like to learn and observe us, because they already knew
- 42:28Speaker 3: that by like even back then sixty years ago, they
- 42:30Speaker 3: already knew that Earth was going to be turned into
- 42:32Speaker 3: a crawl. And it's kind of fucked up how planets
- 42:37Speaker 3: are chosen for the for the new Dungeon crawls, because
- 42:42Speaker 3: there's a rule in the Galactic Syndicate that if you
- 42:45Speaker 3: do not like properly, if you do not make contact
- 42:51Speaker 3: with the Galactic Syndicate within like seventy years of making
- 42:55Speaker 3: first contact with them, then your planet will be marked
- 43:00Speaker 3: of the Dungeon Crawl. And I'm just wondering, like, wait
- 43:03Speaker 3: a second, if that's the rule, then why hasn't Earth
- 43:06Speaker 3: been given that opportunity, Like there's a timeframe that was set,
- 43:12Speaker 3: but why, like what's going on? They never really I
- 43:16Speaker 3: will give you this little spoiler, even up until like
- 43:18Speaker 3: book seven, they haven't really explained why that happens. YEA,
- 43:22Speaker 3: why Earth was why like Earth wasn't like hadn't been
- 43:25Speaker 3: able to contact the Galactic Syndicate to register with them. Yeah,
- 43:31Speaker 3: there's some bullshitary definitely, Like it's a rule that is
- 43:35Speaker 3: often ignored or like not properly enforced. Basically like okay, well,
- 43:40Speaker 3: you're supposed to give them a chance to like be
- 43:42Speaker 3: able to register and avoid the dungeon crawl, right, but
- 43:46Speaker 3: clearly they don't actually do that, Like they they take
- 43:49Speaker 3: one little like contact from like the news like from
- 43:52Speaker 3: the new planet and consider that first contact like the
- 43:55Speaker 3: official first contact, and then they don't explain the rules.
- 43:59Speaker 3: And then and they're like okay, cool, well like okay,
- 44:02Speaker 3: it's been seventy years, you haven't really needn't do shit,
- 44:05Speaker 3: so we're taking your planet now. So then Mordecai does
- 44:11Speaker 3: explain this to Carl, and he's also explains to Carl
- 44:15Speaker 3: that the first three levels of the Dungeon are considered
- 44:18Speaker 3: the tutorial levels. So this is where crawl. This is
- 44:21Speaker 3: where like it's important for crawlers to really like farm mobs,
- 44:26Speaker 3: build up experience, get those level ups all right, and
- 44:28Speaker 3: also start considering what kind of class and race that
- 44:31Speaker 3: they're going to choose, because when they reach the third floor.
- 44:34Speaker 3: That is when they're going to choose. That's when they
- 44:36Speaker 3: get to choose those classes and there and a new race,
- 44:40Speaker 3: so like the Dungeon Crawl allows them to choose like
- 44:43Speaker 3: a separate race, so you can choose a non human
- 44:45Speaker 3: race like an elf dwarf, but an or not to
- 44:50Speaker 3: like spoil it, but later not to give you guys
- 44:52Speaker 3: too much spoilers. But later on, when Carl reaches the
- 44:54Speaker 3: third floor, he one of the race is that the
- 44:57Speaker 3: AI offers him is a hobgoblin race, which is like
- 45:00Speaker 3: really like a really ugly race. It's hilarious. So after explaining.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Jacob, Jacob, Jacob, we wakes up in the morning
- 45:12Speaker 2: a hobgoblin.
- 45:18Speaker 3: And what are you supposed to be? A dwarf?
- 45:21Speaker 1: My god, thank you, thank you?
- 45:23Speaker 3: Oh wait no no actually hold on, no, no, no, no no,
- 45:28Speaker 3: do you have a pointy hat?
- 45:29Speaker 2: By any chance, I'm gonna kill you. I'm going to
- 45:36Speaker 2: pull the funk up. I knew you're gonna say, fucking gnome.
- 45:40Speaker 2: I don't want to want those stone gnomes. Oh my god,
- 45:46Speaker 2: I'm a gnome.
- 45:47Speaker 1: You.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Speaking of gnomes, there are gnomes in the Dungeon crawls
- 45:51Speaker 3: see them on floor five though yeah anyway, uh so,
- 45:57Speaker 3: either way, Carl is given like the full rundown of
- 45:59Speaker 3: how to use his stats and his leveling like first
- 46:02Speaker 3: two levels, like of course, like he's gonna get experienced
- 46:05Speaker 3: and he can like start setting like points to like
- 46:08Speaker 3: different skills that he has. The AI takes into consideration
- 46:13Speaker 3: like his life skills that he brings in. So like surprisingly,
- 46:16Speaker 3: Carl has a very weak is very is not like
- 46:20Speaker 3: a very weak strength even though he's like a vet's
- 46:23Speaker 3: he is a military veteran post guard. But and he
- 46:26Speaker 3: has other like life skills that are useful for him.
- 46:29Speaker 3: But the thing is is that the a I loves
- 46:33Speaker 3: fucking with you. It loves fucking with you. If you
- 46:38Speaker 3: hate something, it's going to it's going to throw that
- 46:40Speaker 3: thing you hate at.
- 46:41Speaker 9: You complain if you complain about something in the dungeon,
- 46:46Speaker 9: Like in Carl's case, he keeps bitching that you can't
- 46:49Speaker 9: find seem to find a pair of pants to wear
- 46:51Speaker 9: and nope, later nope, but he later gets a freaking
- 46:58Speaker 9: new pair of underwear that gives him a really cool
- 47:00Speaker 9: staff boost.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and the thing.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Is, when he was running from the goblins, he ends
- 47:06Speaker 3: up losing the crocs. So now he's barefoot, and he
- 47:09Speaker 3: starts complaining that he's barefoot, and ladies and gentlemen, this
- 47:13Speaker 3: is where the this Let me tell you something right now, girl,
- 47:17Speaker 3: this this fucking AI is unhinged.
- 47:19Speaker 1: It horrid, horrid and has.
- 47:24Speaker 3: An unhealthy obsession with.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Feet, unhealthy obsession.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Like so much, so much so that it will like
- 47:35Speaker 3: actually force Karl to use foot base attacks. Uh huh,
- 47:39Speaker 3: like like it was. And it's like, in fact, you
- 47:41Speaker 3: know where it all started. It started with those three goblins,
- 47:44Speaker 3: because when Carl was fighting those goblins, he knocked one off,
- 47:47Speaker 3: that little that little sweeper and that little death trap
- 47:50Speaker 3: and then he jumps down and smushes it with his
- 47:52Speaker 3: bare foot.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he sure did.
- 47:56Speaker 2: And then.
- 48:04Speaker 1: Not the AI.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Let me tell you, let me tell you the audiobook.
- 48:08Speaker 2: The AI is so unhinged. It's it's vile. I feel
- 48:14Speaker 2: like my ears got assaulted.
- 48:17Speaker 3: By some of the achievements that it gives that it
- 48:21Speaker 3: gives you. They're hilarious, unhinged, unhold like oh some of
- 48:29Speaker 3: the things like you're just reading this and the thing
- 48:31Speaker 3: like some of the things that it's just it's just
- 48:33Speaker 3: telling Carl through the achievements is like.
- 48:37Speaker 1: That AI is a gutter gutter goblin. Fagot a gutter goblin.
- 48:43Speaker 3: So here's some of the things. Like, here's one achievement,
- 48:45Speaker 3: the very first achievement he gets as uh that he
- 48:50Speaker 3: gets from entering the dungeon. This was the one I
- 48:52Speaker 3: told you about getting. He got an achievement for entering
- 48:54Speaker 3: the dungeon. The first person from for entering the dungeon
- 48:57Speaker 3: with a cat. This is the achievement. Congratulations, you've earned
- 49:00Speaker 3: your first achievement. Crazy cat Lady, you have entered the
- 49:05Speaker 3: World Dungeon accompanied by a cat. Ah, it is that
- 49:08Speaker 3: sweet reward. You received a bronze pet box. New Achievement, Trailblazing,
- 49:13Speaker 3: Crazy Cat Lady, you are the first crawler to have
- 49:17Speaker 3: entered the World Dungeon accompanied by a cat. You must
- 49:20Speaker 3: really love that thing too bad. You're both probably gonna
- 49:22Speaker 3: die a horrible death at any moment, or maybe not.
- 49:25Speaker 3: Look at the brines you just received. You received a legendary.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Pet box, Oh my God.
- 49:30Speaker 3: And new achievement. Early Adoctor, you were one of the
- 49:33Speaker 3: first five thousand crawlers to enter a new World Dungeon. Sucker.
- 49:37Speaker 3: You received the Silver Adventure Box New Achievement empty pockets.
- 49:41Speaker 3: You didn't bring any supplies none. You know, you still
- 49:44Speaker 3: gotta eat right. Reward, You received a Bronze of ventre box.
- 49:48Speaker 3: New achievement. Why aren't you wearing pants? You entered the
- 49:51Speaker 3: dungeon wearing no pants? Dude, seriously. Reward You received a
- 49:57Speaker 3: gold apparel box. You received a gold one for that.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:01Speaker 3: New achievement unarmed combat. So you're just gonna waltz right
- 50:06Speaker 3: into something called a world dungeon and you're not even
- 50:08Speaker 3: gonna bring a weapon. You're either braver than you look,
- 50:11Speaker 3: or you're just an idiot. Good luck with that, then, damn.
- 50:15Speaker 3: You received a Bronze weapon box. New Achievement loner. You
- 50:18Speaker 3: entered the dungeon without any human companions. Didn't anyone teach
- 50:22Speaker 3: you that their safety in numbers? Reward none? Ha ha,
- 50:26Speaker 3: You're so dead. Now. These are not let me say something.
- 50:31Speaker 1: These are teams.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Yeah, they may seem a little unhinged, but these are team.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Compared to some of those, it gets worse. Let's see,
- 50:42Speaker 3: uh here, let me let me see hold on there,
- 50:44Speaker 3: there's let me look for that achievement are there? Let's
- 50:48Speaker 3: see like some of them are just like are just
- 50:54Speaker 3: meant to just piss you off or just like assault you.
- 50:57Speaker 3: Like this one new achievement you've you've discovered an read
- 51:00Speaker 3: an official dungeon sign. Wow, you can read me? What
- 51:03Speaker 3: mean you? All official dungeon sign and will now be
- 51:07Speaker 3: highlighted and easier to spot nearby. Guilt look here anything
- 51:10Speaker 3: mat Oh my god, there is like hold on, there
- 51:14Speaker 3: is a oh oh hey that I actually answered our
- 51:18Speaker 3: question earlier. So the first time they meet Mordecai, he's
- 51:20Speaker 3: actually transformed into a rat hooligan. So he's a rat.
- 51:24Speaker 3: He's my dad, all right? Hold on, where's that achievement?
- 51:29Speaker 3: He gets a really he gets a really gnarly achievement
- 51:31Speaker 3: from killing those those goblins. Hold on.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Sealed the person who does the voiceover for the audiobook,
- 51:44Speaker 2: You have no right to voice the Ai like that
- 51:49Speaker 2: when it comes to Carl's feet. It's so wrong.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Oh here it is. So I'm gonna go ahead and
- 51:58Speaker 3: read you the line of achievements that he gets for
- 52:01Speaker 3: killing those three goblins. Yes, new achievement, you've inflicted damage
- 52:05Speaker 3: on a mom hopefully on a mob. Hopefully it won't
- 52:08Speaker 3: hit back reward. It's probably going to hit back new
- 52:13Speaker 3: Achievement Kill. You killed a mob. You're a murderer. You
- 52:17Speaker 3: probably had a family reward. You can now gain experience.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Get enough of it and you might even go up
- 52:24Speaker 3: a level. New Achievements. You've killed an armed mob with
- 52:29Speaker 3: your bare fucking hands. Holy crap, dude, that's kind of
- 52:33Speaker 3: fucked up. Reward. You received a Bronze Weapon Box New Achievement.
- 52:38Speaker 3: You've killed a mob a higher level than yourself. You're
- 52:42Speaker 3: getting the hang of this. Don't let it go to
- 52:44Speaker 3: your head. Reward. You've received a Bronze Adventurer Box. New Achievement.
- 52:49Speaker 3: You've entered a guildhall. Congratulations. You know how to open doors.
- 52:52Speaker 3: Reward that sense of fulfillment you feel that's reward enough.
- 52:59Speaker 3: This is the now, this is the one.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Oh God.
- 53:03Speaker 3: New achievement photophilia. You've used your bare feet to crush
- 53:08Speaker 3: and kill an opponent. Hey, that's my finish. Seriously, keep
- 53:13Speaker 3: doing it and you'll be rewarded. This will help. Reward.
- 53:17Speaker 3: You received a gold shoe box New Achievement Boom. You've
- 53:22Speaker 3: caused a wall shaken explosion within the dungeon. The last
- 53:24Speaker 3: time the wall shook like this was when your mom
- 53:26Speaker 3: came over for a visit reward. You've received a silver
- 53:30Speaker 3: Goblin box. Level up, baby, you've received enough experience to
- 53:34Speaker 3: gain a level reward. Leveling up is your job. You
- 53:37Speaker 3: don't get rewards for doing your.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Job, savage.
- 53:40Speaker 3: And then yeah, so I mean I probably should have
- 53:44Speaker 3: just I could have just stopped with the photophilia. But
- 53:47Speaker 3: this is the kind of ship that the dungeon ai.
- 53:50Speaker 3: There was one in this book alone, where like the
- 53:55Speaker 3: achievement was just so like I'm just reading this and
- 53:59Speaker 3: I'm like.
- 54:00Speaker 1: So raunchy, Like.
- 54:04Speaker 5: Excuse me.
- 54:06Speaker 2: The audio, yeah, the audiobook. The audiobook whereas it's like
- 54:14Speaker 2: I can't remember the exact one, but I think it's
- 54:17Speaker 2: in the first book, see in the first book, or
- 54:19Speaker 2: we're on the other ones. But who He's just like, yeah.
- 54:22Speaker 1: That's right, you dirt, it looks.
- 54:27Speaker 2: Something like that, And I'm like, I need a shower
- 54:30Speaker 2: with holy water. I was mortified.
- 54:35Speaker 10: I was like, ew, what the book I'm pretty sure
- 54:39Speaker 10: that was on that's in book four when they're on
- 54:43Speaker 10: floor five. Because so I will say book one takes place,
- 54:47Speaker 10: it covers book covers floor one and two, and then after.
- 54:51Speaker 7: That each book is just a single floor.
- 54:54Speaker 3: But Book four and when they're on floor five. H
- 55:00Speaker 3: the AI. I don't want to like spoil too much,
- 55:03Speaker 3: but the AI was getting very pissed that Carl was
- 55:05Speaker 3: not like stepping on shit. So it literally unleash shoes
- 55:09Speaker 3: a swarm of these uh like rabbit like ravenous uh
- 55:16Speaker 3: like murder like murder gerbils. Yeah, and like at that point,
- 55:23Speaker 3: these murder gerbils are like too low level to like
- 55:25Speaker 3: be a threat to Carl, but like there was so
- 55:28Speaker 3: much of them that they were doing damage to him
- 55:29Speaker 3: and his friends, and like he was just punching them,
- 55:32Speaker 3: but like, uh he by that point he stops like
- 55:36Speaker 3: using his bare feet to kill anything because it was
- 55:38Speaker 3: just grossing him out with how much the AI liked
- 55:42Speaker 3: it fetishized it. And then like but the thing is
- 55:45Speaker 3: that the mobs were not They just wouldn't stop coming.
- 55:48Speaker 3: The gerbils kept coming, and finally, like like finally he
- 55:54Speaker 3: just like fuck it and then he starts squashing them
- 55:58Speaker 3: with his feet and then they stopped coming. And the
- 56:01Speaker 3: achievement he gets after that was just vile, vile, vile.
- 56:07Speaker 3: It was just like basically it was like the AI
- 56:11Speaker 3: was coming in his ear.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why it sounds like on the audiobook too.
- 56:16Speaker 2: But I mean, I'm not gonna say I love the
- 56:19Speaker 2: AI that the AI does that, because it's it's kind
- 56:22Speaker 2: of a it's a flip on this type of genre
- 56:27Speaker 2: because when you play like those RPG games, half the
- 56:30Speaker 2: time the female characters are wearing literally nothing and they're
- 56:34Speaker 2: very sexualized, and in this.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Book it's the opposite. It's the man man.
- 56:43Speaker 3: Yeah, he's running around, he's going through this entire dungeon
- 56:45Speaker 3: half naked. Yeah, no shoes, this pair of boxers. He
- 56:50Speaker 3: does have like a just a regular like shirt on,
- 56:53Speaker 3: and he has his coat and he still keeps his
- 56:55Speaker 3: coat with him, but that's pretty much it.
- 56:58Speaker 2: And then is thirsting over him, like the fan boys
- 57:03Speaker 2: thirst over these type of characters are sexualizing female characters.
- 57:07Speaker 2: So it's I'm like, I see what you're doing here,
- 57:10Speaker 2: but you don't have to.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Why did that make it so vile?
- 57:13Speaker 3: Why? Like, I'm just like, this is not a door,
- 57:17Speaker 3: this is this is this is not the mirror, This
- 57:21Speaker 3: is not this is not the mirror. This is just
- 57:25Speaker 3: just vile. So to get back to this book, Carl
- 57:31Speaker 3: is now like getting his he's starting to level up
- 57:34Speaker 3: and since entering the tutorial guild, Mordecai encourages him to
- 57:38Speaker 3: go ahead and open the loot boxes he's already gotten.
- 57:41Speaker 3: He opens them and the very the very first loot
- 57:43Speaker 3: box that opens is the legendary pet box he got, yep.
- 57:48Speaker 3: And in the pet box is like, uh, like, I
- 57:51Speaker 3: think it came with like one or two, like a
- 57:52Speaker 3: couple other things like U like you know, groom like
- 57:55Speaker 3: pet and roomy supplies, but the main thing it came
- 57:57Speaker 3: with was a single pet treat. This is legendary pet tree.
- 58:01Speaker 3: So if you feed this to your pet, it will
- 58:05Speaker 3: give them a power up. So it's a random power
- 58:08Speaker 3: up basically, like it's going to transform them into something else. Right, So,
- 58:13Speaker 3: like when the pet eats the tree, the pet is
- 58:17Speaker 3: going to go through in an immediate transformation. So but
- 58:20Speaker 3: the thing is, the transformation is random, so and there's
- 58:24Speaker 3: no real one hundred percent guarantee that the pet will
- 58:26Speaker 3: still be friendly by the time the transformation is done,
- 58:29Speaker 3: but there's still a high it's there's still gonna be
- 58:32Speaker 3: a high chance that it'll still be friendly to you
- 58:34Speaker 3: after the transformation, but there's a high possibility that it's
- 58:37Speaker 3: going to be a lot more powerful, and it might
- 58:40Speaker 3: either it might turn into something very useful, so like,
- 58:44Speaker 3: feed this to your pet cat, and you may end
- 58:47Speaker 3: up with a sabertoothed tiger once the transformation is done. Yeah,
- 58:51Speaker 3: So Carl was like was mulling it over. He wasn't
- 58:53Speaker 3: sure if he wanted to feed Donut the pet treat.
- 58:56Speaker 3: But Donut immediately jumps up and like bites his hand
- 58:58Speaker 3: off just to get to the tree, and she eats
- 59:01Speaker 3: a treat and just as soon as she ingests this,
- 59:03Speaker 3: it ingests it, she disintegrates into goop.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Yep, she like.
- 59:11Speaker 3: Immediately turns into this like puddle of goop, and Carl
- 59:16Speaker 3: thinks he killed his cat, but Mordecai and Mordecai shirt
- 59:20Speaker 3: reachers in that. Oh, she's fine. This is part of
- 59:23Speaker 3: the transformation process. She's literally her entire genetic structure is
- 59:27Speaker 3: being rewritten at the atomic level. So when it when
- 59:31Speaker 3: it's done, she's going to be completely different, right, So
- 59:35Speaker 3: Carl like, So Carl get like continues like getting like
- 59:43Speaker 3: going through the toil with Mordecai, and after a few minutes,
- 59:45Speaker 3: like he hears someone else in the guild starts speaking
- 59:49Speaker 3: to him, and he turns around and looks down and
- 59:51Speaker 3: he sees there's Donna again. She's exactly the same as
- 59:54Speaker 3: she was before, except now she can talk. So what
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: the pet bistic biscuit ended up doing was it didn't
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: change her from a regular house cat. So she's still
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: a tortoiseshelled Persian cat, but now she is fully in
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: she's fully sapient because of this. Because of this transformation,
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: she's now considered a dungeon crawler. So she too gets
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: her own like you know heads to display her own inventory.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: She can level up just like Carl can, and surprisingly
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: her like like, her stats are higher than his. Like
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: her charisma is insanely high for her level. She has
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: like a twenty. She starts off with a twenty five
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: to her charisma and her and she gets a few
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: other things too, a few other her own power ups.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: As soon as she like comes up, the AI immediately
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: gives her an achievement for being like the first cat
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: dungeon crawler, and she gets a legendary loop box. And
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: in this loop box, it gives her a crown. It's
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: called the Crown of the Sultanate.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: Hold on.
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: What is the crown called let's see.
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: Mm hmm mm hmm.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: Sorright, future Devin.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Got this bort up.
- 1:01:47Speaker 11: A blood of like crowd of the blood Sultan for
- 1:01:50Speaker 11: or something. Okay, she's got a little bigger, but.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: Not by much. Either way, she was still decidedly a cat,
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: except for the talking part. First off, Carl, my name
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: is g C B bw R NW Princess Donut. The
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Queen anschank, and I'm gonna have to insist you call
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: me by that, by my proper title. I will not
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: except just a princess or even Princess Donut, but not
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: if we're in the presence of high company. H I
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: suppose Princess Donut will do for now. So like her
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: stats starting off was like, she has a eleven for
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: her strength and eleven for her intelligence, making her stronger
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: both stronger and smarter than Karl. She has a ridiculously
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: low constitution though she only has a two for her constitution.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Dexterity is pretty is pretty average for with an eight,
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: and her charisma is insanely high at twenty five, which
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: for the first floor is ridiculously high.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: Uh, let's see.
- 1:03:31Speaker 12: After initial blah blah blah, she's forever stuck with a
- 1:03:44Speaker 12: two a constitution two.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Oh here it is. Yeah, she gets a loop fox
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: and in it and in this loop box she gets
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: a magical crown, the enchanted Crown of the Sepsis four.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: Then let me read you the description of this crown. Okay,
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: because first things first, when she gets this crown and
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: they read the description, Mordecai tells her not to put
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: it on just yet because it's it's going to be
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: dangerous later on down the line. So what does so
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: what does don'n it naturally do plan on? She puts
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: it on. She puts it on. So anyway, this is so,
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: this is the description that the AI gives for the
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: Crown of the Sebstance four. Who's a dirty girl? You're
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: a dirty girl. This is a fleeting item. This is
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: a unique item and views where with a plus five
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: intelligence grants the user plus five to the good first
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: Impression skill. All attacks, including magical attacks, now have a
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: fifteen percent chance to inflict the Sepsis deba warning. Seriously, though,
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: I'm going to have to I'm going to say this again. Warning,
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: Read this shit before you put it on. Place this
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: crown upon your head permanently places you within the royal
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: line of succession for the Blood Sultanate on the ninth
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: floor of the World Dungeon. Removing this item will not
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: remove this status. Royal members of the Blood Sultanate will
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: be required to slay the Sultan in all other members
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: of the royal family before descending to the tenth floor.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: You'll only want to wear this if you're a bloodthirsty,
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: raging psychopath. And Parl after reading that, immediately was like that,
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: I don't I'm not so sure you should put that on.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: And Donna's like, it's purple. Purple is my color. Do
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: you know how many purple ribbons I won? Do you
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: know what it takes to get a purple ribbon? But yes, Yeah.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: The funny thing is is that she put it on
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: before reading that. Yeah, let's see. Yeah, mort guy sees
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: what she got and she's like, the other item is very,
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: very powerful and valuable, but it's also very dangerous. Before
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: you decide to put on, she takes special note that
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: it who immediately goes on her head. Yeah, so that's
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: pretty much like Donut is very she's very impulsive, and
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: she does have a lot she does get a lot
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: of character growth throughout the series, But the thing is
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: that she has that very like like she has a
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: very self important attitude. She's very entire, she's very entitled,
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: very like uh like, like she's told she's a spoiled cat.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: That's what she is.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: Yeah, literally, all right, But.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: She gets set So she gets set up with her
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: own stats. She has now her own items. She gets
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: like from her loop boxes, she gets a she gets
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: some magic missile ability and other a few other useful
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: spells and uh she gets She starts setting up her
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: stats in her inventory with Mordecai. Before the two of
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: them finally leaves to start their journey through the dungeons,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: Mordecai advises them that technically the first two floors after
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: several Like, the thing about the floors is that they
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: get they're supposed to get shorter, right and you go
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: deeper into the level, or they get longer.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: I think they get longer.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: They get longer.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: I think they get longer.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I think, yeah, they got longer. All right. So
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: Mordecai advises them that up to a certain point, the
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: staircases leading down to the second floor aren't open, but
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: they do open pretty early after a certain point. Now
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: he tells them that it's actually not it's not really
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: a good idea to go down into the next floor
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: until you're nearing the end of the time limit, because
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: every floor has a time limit, a designated time limit,
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: and after a certain time now, like with the first floor,
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: I think it's only like a few days, like up
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: to a week or so before it's supposed to collapse.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: And then the next floor it gets more time before lapses,
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: and so on and so forth. The floors get pid,
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: get longer, a little get longer and longer. The floors
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: get slightly longer, the time limit gets slightly longer with
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: each floor they go down to.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: Now, Okay, I'm gonna have to go to the restroot
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: real quick, but you can continue if you want.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: You're gonna edit it up.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: No, I'm no, I'm gonna add this part out me leaving,
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: But if you want to continue on the plot, I'm
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: just gonna have it edit it where it's just showing you.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: I'll be right back.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: I really need to be all right, So you have
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: to start over. Okay, don't cut that last one up.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: So the so Carl and Dungeon. Eventually, after finishing their
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: first aptoral with Mortar Kai, they leave the They leave
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: and begin to explore the dungeon more. Now having better
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: understanding of how they are to defend themselves, how to
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: use their stats, how to love up, they start exploring
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: the dungeon and clearing out mobs on their own. Right
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: after they leave the tutorial guild, Carl tries to separate
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: from Donut because since now Donut is intelligent and is
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: capable of fending for herself now as an intelligent drawler
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: instead of just a regular house cat, he feels like
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: he doesn't that she doesn't need him, and also he
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: doesn't really want to stick with her because her attitude
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: is pretty insulting. She's kind of being mean to him.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: But Donut immediately gets scared and doesn't want to separate
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: from him and apologize and promise and make promises that
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: she'll be nicer and not treat him that way. So
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: he agrees reluctantly because there's a part reluctantly maybe not
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: so much so much reluctantly, because this part of Karl
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: that still cares about the cat. It's his cat. It's
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: his cat. I mean, it may belong to his ex girlfriend,
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: Donut may have belonged to his ex girlfriend, but he
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: still cared for the cat and still want it and
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: still on some level wanted to look out for her
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: well being. So the two of them continue through the dungeon,
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: killing mobs as they go, and they eventually come across
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: what is called a neighborhood boss. So throughout the dungeon
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: there are different types of bosses they can encounter. There's
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: neighborhood bosses, borough bosses, city bosses, country bosses, and even
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: floor bosses like city country and floor bosses are the
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: ones that you don't want to run into because they
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: are insanely powerful and insanely strong. As they near the
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: end of the first floor, they are actually horrified to
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: find out that over that there was over like fourteen
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: million crawlers that enter the dungeon initially, and by the
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: end of the first floor ten million have died. So
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: a lot of crawlers are being killed, and they every
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: time that they enter like a safe like a safe room.
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: The safe rooms have like bulletin boards that have like
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: the these alien announcements, and near the end of the floor,
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: they see that like they see like initially how many
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: crawlers entered the dungeon, and then how many crawlers are
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: still alive? So like the number of crawlers that die
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: and just the first floor alone is insanely high, so
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: a lot of them were killed either because of like
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: faulty traps or because they keep it. They've encountered bosses
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: that are way too strong for their levels, for their
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: level of striketh. So Carlin Donut finds a neighborhood boss
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: who is still a strong mob. It was still a
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: very powerful mob, but they were able to at the
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: very least defeat it, and they're they're actually very shocked
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: to realize that the neighborhood boss was actually wasn't just
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: like a mob that was grown and birthed just for
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: the dungeon, but the mob it's but the neighborhood boss
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: was actually a person from Earth. So they learned that
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: they made that the that the AI it does fuck
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: with them. And when the collapse happened, people who were
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: inside those buildings they were actually put in cold storage,
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: so they're not technically dead. They're dead, they're not dead,
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: but they're being repurposed. There's a chance that they've been
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: repurposed for the for the dungeon itself, So in some
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: cases they'll encounter mobs that look like regular people that
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: have been just warped and twisted into like like powerful
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: bosses or mobs. Like this neighborhood boss was a Spanish woman.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: She was a she's called like a she was like
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: a hoarder boss, like her little boss Arena was like
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: a kind of like a like basically what her home
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: used to be, like filled with junk and everything, and
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: like she was very grotesque looking, but she was babbling
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: in Spanish, and it seemed like she had some kind
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: of like awareness of that, like something's wrong, and like
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: she's she's kind of aware of like where she is,
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: but she doesn't fully understand it. Carl and Donut do
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: end up defeating her and put her out of her misery,
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: but the two of them are still like the two
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: of them are deeply disturbed by this. Yeah, yeah, I
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: was too.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: I was like, that's kind of fucked up.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: And we see more of this later on, like the
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: the AI and the Syndicate. They they do this to
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: the crawlers, especially really popular crawlers. So like the crawl
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: is like it's a reality show, so there are trillions
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: of alien people watching tuning in and watching them. Later
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: on in the in the story Carl and Donut actually
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: can see get like a little viewership meters put onto
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: their heads at display so they can see like how
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: many people are tuning into like their feed specifically, and
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: because like the Unsurprisingly, these two become very popular later
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: on in the story, and they actually start getting their
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: own sponsors and Uh when he becomes sponsored and he
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: become popular, the syndicate starts pulling you between levels, like
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: like when you go to and go down to a
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: different floor, you will actually get pulled for like talk
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: shows and other entertainment shows kind of like meet and
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: greets for like for fans and dungeon crawlers. It's really
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: fucked up because these people are like they're literally it's
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: it's the hunger Games, all right. You got these people
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: who are true who are placing bets on their favorite crawlers,
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: seeing like who's gonna live the longest or who's gonna
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: die the fastest. All right, they make merchandise and money.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: They merchandise these and monotonize these crawlers and their deaths.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: You know, It's it's insane, all right. Eventually, Carl and Uh,
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: before going down into the second floor, Carl and Donut
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: encounter a couple other mobs. They noticed that, but most
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: of them, I'm sorry, a couple other crawlers. But most
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: of the crawlers they keep coming across are dead, so
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: they think that these people. The thing is that they
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: can actually see, like the AI will put like descriptions
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: over dead over the dead crawlers, and it'll tell them
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: who killed them. So some of the crawlers they come across,
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: of course, were killed by by other mobs, but in
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: some cases they notice that these crawlers were killed by
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: other crawlers. And eventually they do encounter other live crawlers,
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: a guy named Frank and his wife Maggie. And when
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: they first encounter the two, the two are in there,
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: they're in a safe zone, and Maggie and Frank, as
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: it turns out, are player killers. So it later on
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: it does it does go into the bit of their
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: backstories later on in the in the story, we don't
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: really learn their full story until like after book four.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: I think it's like book four, Like it was like
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: book four when we learned the full story of like
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: how they got there, how they became player killers, because
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: the two of them actually used to be law enforcement officials,
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: like two of them used to work in law enforcement.
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: But when they answered the dungeon that they're their tutorial
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: guide actually encouraged them to kill other crawlers. Yeah, like
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: that's part of the game, you got to kill other crawlers, which, like, yeah,
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: it was just fucked up, but U And so Frank
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: and his wife try to ambush Carl and Donut while
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: they're in the safe room. But the thing is is
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: that Donut and Carl's tutorial guide, Mordecai, actually explained to
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: them that while in the safe zone, any kind of
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: violence against crawlers is taboo, and if you if you
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: try to attack another crawler while in the safe room,
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: the system will just freeze you for a few minutes,
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: like as a bit of a time out, and won't
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: let you do anything else until after that. And if
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: you continue to try to attack another crawler, it'll just
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: teleport you to a random location outside of the safe room.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: So h So Frank and Maggie try to attack Carl
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: and Donut, but they immediately get frozen. So Carl and
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: Carl and Donut leave the safe room. And when they
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: leave the safe room, they do they actually found some
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: other bodies of they find some mobs, they quickly kill them,
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: and Carl sets a trap. So Carl has begun has
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: is starting to become a bit of a demolitions expert
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: after because a lot of the mobs he's and he
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: ends up killing our goblins, and these goblins are demolition experts.
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: They use a lot of explosives, so he ends up
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: collecting a lot of their bombs, their traps, and he
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: sets a trap in the mobs, and some of the
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: mobs he kills, and he sets one where it basically
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: like if they pull a specific item out of its inventory,
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: have a mobs in inventory, it'll explode. It'll it'll basically explode.
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: So uh, and it does actually work because they get
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: far enough away from them from Frank and Maggie and
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: they and while they get far enough, while they got
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: far enough away from them, they do hear an explosion
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: from back from back where they came. So as far
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: as they know, they the two Frank and Maggie did
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: trigger the trap and it exploded, but they don't know
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: if they killed him or not. Oh yeah, they got
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: they did get some experience, but they like they didn't
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: really like get credit for killing something, so they'll they
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: they're not really sure. Uh, let's see, now Carl and
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Donut do Eventually, like Carl and Donut realize that they're
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: they've entered the main Goblin neighborhood. So like this the
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: neighborhood that they're in is just strictly Goblin mobs, and
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: they with an idea that they the thing is, the
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: first floor is very big, right, it's there's a lot
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: of space, there's a lot of areas they can explore,
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: and they realize that the goblins have machines, they have mechanics,
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: they have vehicles, right, so they get the idea that
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: they should get Donut to try to like convince the
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: goblins to let them to help them out. Because part
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: of it is all the reason why it's gonna work
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: is also because in one of Carl's loop boxes he
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: gets he actually gets a tattoo, a little it's a
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: little perk that he got from one of his loop boxes.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: It's a tattoo that basically allows him to enter goblins
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: territory and goblins won't attack him. Yeah, but if he
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: encountered goes into like a territory that's controlled by fairies
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: and they it's on site, so so using Carl's Carl's
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: tattoo and donuts charmed. They actually managed to trick the
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: convince the goblins to build them a motorcycle, cold powered motorcycle.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: And while after it's built, they want to they decide
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: that they want to try to like they decided, like,
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: you know what, fuck it, let's just try to clear
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: out this area and get as much and get as
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: much XP as possible. Right, And they know that like
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: on like just beyond the workshop that they were in
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: to get their motorcycle, uh is the borough boss, is
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: the neighborhood boss, and it's the goblin boss. So they decide, like,
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: all right, instead of just fighting all of these goblins,
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: including like these two powerful goblin shamans, let's try to
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: trick them. So while they were paid, while they were
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: haggling over like how they're going to pay for the motorcycle,
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: they revealed that they collected some dungeon strength drugs from
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: some from some law party lamas. Wait what do they call?
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: They were called what crazy lamas are?
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: Like, oh my god, I don't know, I don't remember
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: what the what those fucking insane lamas were called. But
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: they cause the drug war between the Lamas and the goblins.
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: Yeah, because while they while they were haggling over prices,
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: the goblins noticed that they had these dungeon strength drugs
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: and their inventory, and the goblins were like, where did
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: you get this? And they were like, oh, we got
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: them from the from the murder Lamas. And the goblins
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: are like, we fucking do it. They've been holding on
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: I don't know so this whole time. So the two
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: shaman ladies get like rally all the goblins in the
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: neighborhood and they all go off to and invade the
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: Lama territory. These murder Lamas, yeah, these murder Lamas spit lava.
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: The yeah, they they spit lava. Karl and h Donnut
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: have killed a few of them, but mostly have avoided
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: their territory. So the goblins realize like, oh, they the
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: Lamas have the good ship. Let's go get them. So
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: all of them leave the neighborhood, leaving just the neighborhood
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: boss area, and Carl immediately starts looting everything in the
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: worst shop, every like all the coal he can grab,
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: all to power his motorcycle, all of the uh like
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: explosive material he can get his hands on, materials like metal,
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: even like some contraptions that he doesn't know what he's
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: gonna use them for. But hey, there's there's no limit
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: to how much shit he can hold in his inventory,
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: so he just takes everything. And then they put together
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: a shopping cart filled with explosives and ship like high
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: grade goblin ship. Right mh and uh, he has donut
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: open the door and like, honest, cue opens the door,
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: like look quickly look into into the neighborhood bossroom to
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: just to confirm nobody's just that the neighborhood boss is
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: in there, right yeah, And as soon as they confirm
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: that she's gonna put he's gonna push the part in
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: there and ignite it and they're gonna take cover, right,
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: so they start the plan. She opens the door, looks aside.
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: He says, is he in there? She's like, yes, the
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: neighborhood boss is in there. He's like cool. He kicks
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: the car through through the door and jumps behind cover.
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: He jumps behind cover with them, and she's like, boy,
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: there were here a lot of goblin babies in there too.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: Boom, baby killer.
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: He does get a he does get an achievement over that,
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: and it's funny because Carl ends up getting his own
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: cash phrase. So, like the syndicate really like like really
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: cashes in on a lot of like like dungeon crawl,
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: like any kind of dungeon crawler shit right, anything that
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: becomes like tonic, like their look, their image, things they
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: say right. So Carl ends up getting his own catchphrase,
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: something that the that his fan that his future fans
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: just come to love and always demand him to say.
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: But and it's him basically just angrily going God damn it, donut.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: Because all the things he says that he'll say to her,
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: that is the most common thing he says to here.
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: She does something, she does something stupid, she does something
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: that pisses him off, she does something that gets them
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: in trouble. It's always the first thing out of his
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: mouth is like, god damn it, donut. I will tell
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: you when I got to that part, like as soon
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: as like they pushed the card of explosives into the
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: into the Goblin boss room and donnuts. Like man, there
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: was a lot of baby goblins in there. The cart explodes,
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: Carl screams out, God damn it, donut, like that, I
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: lost it. I was losing I lost it. That was
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: the funniest thing I read in this book. Just God
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: damn it, donut. Hold on, let me see what do
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: let me I need to pull that part up again. No,
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: that's war two.
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: Mhm okay, mm hmmm mm hmm.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: Okay, fight the Juicer. Yeah, there's Yeah. There was also
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: another neighborhood boss they probably called the Juicer.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and.
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: Goblins goblins? Is that on for two or is that
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: on for one? Wait? Was that on floor two?
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: I don't remember, it's been so long.
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: No, No, this is still on four one. But I
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: thought I thought the goblins pretty early.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: I think it's still on floor one.
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: It is their floor one, Yes, it is. Come on,
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: all right, here you go.
- 1:26:05Speaker 13: I want you far.
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: Cool, cool, cool, cool, Look at that. There's sure. Ok
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: here we go. They're sure. We're a lot of babies
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: in there too, don't said in that last moment before
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: the blast, like that was the end of the chapter,
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: and then the next chapter the first thing, it's like,
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: God damn it, donut. So let's see where's the achievement,
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: new achievement. Here you go, new achievement, you monster, You
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: have killed an infant and infants? Okay, okay, unless you're
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: a complete psychopath. We know you probably didn't wake up
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: this morning and tell yourself today's day, I'm gonna slaughter
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: a child. Let's put your mind at ease. All children
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: mobs who die within this dungeon don't actually perish. They're
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: transferred to a holding area where they're safe and treated
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: nicely and gently, and so they can be reunited with
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: their loving parents at the end of the season. Feel
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: better good reward these past twenty seconds, when your conscience
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: started to ease, that was your reward. It was also
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: a lie that baby is dead, and it's dead because
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: of you. You're totally going to hell. You've also received
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: a Bronze Assholes Box New Achievement or Criminal. You have
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: killed more than twenty non combatants in a single attack.
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: What's the only thing question? What's the only thing standing
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: between an innocent child and a happy, fulfilling life. Answer you,
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: The answer is you reward. You received a gold assholes box. Yep,
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: damn m yep. So that was funny. After killing this boss,
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: they do encounter other neighborhood bosses. Like they're trying to
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: level up as much as they can. They encounter another
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: neighborhood boss called the Juicer, who's literally like a Jim.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: Bro Yeah, the Juicer.
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: And later they start coming across signs throughout the dungeons
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: made which have been left by other dungeon crawlers. They
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: follow the signs on their motorcycle and so they eventually
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: come to a group of people. Turns out these people
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: mainly consist of a bunch of elderly individuals who are
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: being taken care of by a bunch of nurses. So
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: these nurses or caretakers were once they were all once
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: from a Metal Lark a community called Metal Lark Senior Community.
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: So this was like a retirement home for a bunch
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: for like a bunch of old and senile people. And
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: when the dungeon crawl happens, they're had act there'd been
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: a fire in their nursing home and they had to
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: evacuate all of the elderly outside of the building. And
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: then while the fire was going on, the collapse happened.
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: So they had like they had like several dozen elderly
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: individuals and they had nowhere to They were out in
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: the like freezing cold winter. They had nowhere to take them.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: But then the dungeon the dungeon stairways opened, so they
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: unfortunately were forced to take these elderly people down into
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: the dungeon. Yeah, so now what they've been trying to
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: do is they've been trying to survive as much as
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: they could. They were trying to keep the elderly safe.
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: For the most part, they kept them safe by hiding
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: them in the safe rooms, but they weren't but the
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: caretakers themselves weren't able to do much leveling up. They
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: were more focused on just taking care of the elderly carl.
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: The thing is, though, they the middle art community had
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: managed to find one of the one of the stairways
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: leading down into the second floor. Now this these communities,
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: the thing is that they could not get to the
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: stairway because the stairway was being blocked by a borough boss.
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: A borough boss is uh is a lot stronger than
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: the neighborhood boss and so far the metal art community
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: they tried to make it past this boss. But the
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: thing is is that other crawlers have also tried to
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: get past it, but they all immediately get killed. So
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: the boss itself is literally a giant meatball. It's like
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: a fleshy meatball. Composed of like of these mobs that
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: got stuck together. It's insane. It rolls insanely fast. It's
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: like the Indiana Jones, like like rock trap thing, and
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: no matter how much they try to, like how much
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: they try to get past it, they can't. Unfortunately, there's
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: not another staircase close enough for them to be able
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: to make get all of these senior individuals out in time,
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: so their only option is through the borough Boss's layer. Yeah,
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: but the at this point, Carl and Carl has started
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: like tinkering around with like building stuff and like trying
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: like using crafting tables that were available in the h
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: in the safe rooms. Uh So he comes up with
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: a plan to create something like something of a bit
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: of like a speed bump, because because in Borrow Boss's
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: boss room, it's like a series of like little tunnels
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: where it like just rolls around kind of like a
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: little baze, and uh he figures out a way to
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: create like kind of like a stop gap where it
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: forces the borrow Boss to like when it crashes into it,
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: it gets stuck and wedged into the like get wedged
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: into its tunnel, its own tunnel. And when that happens
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: Carl and Carl and the team would attack it and
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: try to kill it. Yeah, uh so it was very
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: dangerous because it involved them going involved Carl and several
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: of the other caretakers from Metal Arc to go in
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: and put together the little stop gap. So they use
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: like building materials that they that Carl had stolen from
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: the goblins. They form this stop gap kind of like
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: it's kind of like a scaffold built kind of like
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: a scaffold that creates like this like like stop gap
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: thing that like as soon as the Boro Boss hits it,
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: the stop gap becomes wedged and keeps it from going
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: any further and keeps it from crushing them to death.
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: And when that happens, it surprisingly works. It stops the
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: Boroughboss in its track, and Carl and the others immediately
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: start attacking the Borough Boss as much as they can,
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: and surprisingly the Borough Boss is not that hard to
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: kill once they stop it in its place. And when
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: it once the Borough Boss dies, like an unfortunate covea
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: of the Borough Boss is that because it's like literally
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: a amalgamation of a bunch of other mobs stuck together.
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: As soon as it dies, they split apart into their
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: separate mobs. But cool thing is is the mobs are
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: in like a stunned deva have a stunned debuff, so
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: they're confused and aren't able to like attack back, So
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: Carl and the and the Metal Arc people are all
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: forced to like kill the mobs again. They kill the
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: borough boss and now has to kill them mobs that
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: it's split into. After they do that, the stairway is
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: now free Carl and Carl helps the Metal Art team
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: get there, helps the Metal Art Team get down into
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: the second floor, and from there they do split off.
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: But funny thing is is that by the end of
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: the first of this floor they learned that they had
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: actually risen into into some popularity and as a result,
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: they start getting they haven't really gotten any sponsors yet,
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: but they've gotten a lot of viewership and they're invited
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: onto a new onto one of the onto they're invited
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: onto one of the talk shows that are hosted between
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: the different floors, so like uh so, the particular talk
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: show that they get invited on is what they is,
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: a talk show that's hosted by a former very popular
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: Crawler named Odette. Odette is like a huge Odette is
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: human see actually, so there are actually other worlds that
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: have human populations outside of Earth.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: But they're way different than Earthling humans.
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: Yeah, they have like different like physical traits. You know,
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: they're still a human, but just like of the different
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: of like different worlds. So Debt is a human from
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: a from a different from a different planet that would
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: that had experienced a crawl. She had made it as
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: far as level twelve before stopping and taking a sponsorship,
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: and she she got out of the dungeon. She was
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: indentured for thousands of years, and when she finally got out,
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: she was given the opportunity to be a She was
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: given an opportunity to host a dungeon crawl talk show.
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: It's very popular. Whenever she's on the talk show, she
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: is always wearing like the armor set that she wore
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: when she's when she was in the dungeon. She was
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: in the dungeon, he actually got cut in half, so
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: she lost the lower half of her body. And the
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: sponsors she had and while she was in the dungeons
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: gave her a like a power up boost, so she
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: was able to like she was able to heal herself,
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: but she couldn't grow her legs back. And she was
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: given like a special of her chair that lets her
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: move around more easily. But they also give her a
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: power up that allows her to attach her body to
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: the bodies of other mobs, so she can like basically
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: like parasite off of them and take control of their bodies.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: That's kind of cool actually.
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: Yeah, So there was a particular mob that she would
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: use that she would use this ability on, which was
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: like a giant crab mob, so he would run around
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: like when she was still in the dungeon, she would
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: run around like basically kind of like a crab centaur
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: like creature. Uh, and she'd get pretty bad assd and
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: like so now so but now like she when she
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: comes back onto the show, uh, when she's on when
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: she owns her show, she's always wearing her armor set
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: so like she has she's always sitting on her crab
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: little her crab mouth, and she's wearing like this bug
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: like helmet and ship and that's how she usually like
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: presents herself. Also, for some reason, she's always she's always
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: like you know, rocking her tits out because she's like
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: when they first see her, like she's actually like naked
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: from the waist up like, well, she's she's nothing but
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: waste uff unfortunately. But so it's like she's over here
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: like fucking titties hanging out all right, which was an
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: iconic look of hers, and you know, she interviews them,
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: you know, and Carl, and Carl doesn't really say anything.
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: He's like kind of sitting there, like what the fuck
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: is this ship? And don't don'nut being a former showcat,
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: like a competent, like a cat she used to do
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: like pageants and stuff. She's charming the crowd and everything.
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: People love her, and they love Carl, maybe not so
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: much for her his personality, but for like, well they
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: like his personality, but not like you know, people more
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: mainly like what he does the ship, he does in
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: the in the dungeon. Yeah, after the interview, they get
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: sent back to the second floor. And in the second floor,
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: when they get to the second floor and they see
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: the recap, the floor recap episode in the safe room,
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: they learned that level one has killed over ten million
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: people and there was an additional one point two million
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: people who died when the floor collapse. So like by
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: the end of the floor, the floor collapses, and if
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: you're stuck on that floor, you die. So there was
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: like well over fourteen fifteen million people that entered the dungeon,
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: and in that first floor alone, it killed over like
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: three quarters of them.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: Yeah, most definitely, Yeah, poor people.
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: And the thing is, unfortunately a lot of them were
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: killed not because they were killed by mobs, but they
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: because they were killed by like faulty traps. Like there
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: was a hiccup with the bathrooms that was causing them
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: to either like was causing like traps to go off
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: in the bathrooms, so people would go to relieve themselves
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: and they would get killed or teleported it into a
- 1:38:05Speaker 3: mob infested area.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and they had.
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: To fix that. Also, the showrunners kept warning the crawlers
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: to make sure they're using those bathrooms that have been
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: provided because they do not want to. Because the bathrooms
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: are the only place in the in the dungeons that
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: they are not being televised. Like that's the only private
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: place you have, Like even the safe rooms you're not,
- 1:38:27Speaker 3: you don't they can still see you in the safe room,
- 1:38:30Speaker 3: Like people can still watch you in the safe room,
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: but when you're in the bathroom, that's where like you
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: get complete privacy.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:38:37Speaker 3: Well, because of this, they enforced strict bathroom rules while
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: you're in the dungeon, like you need to. If you
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: go to the bathroom, just use one of the literal
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: millions of bathrooms we provided you, right, Because for some
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: reason there are still issues of people just urinating or
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: defecating like and just bare ass in the in the
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: dungeon halls, and so when they get to the floor too,
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: the showrunners initiated a new rule that if they if
- 1:39:05Speaker 3: a crawler relieves themselves outside of a bathroom, then the
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: game will the game will immediately summon a high level
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: elemental from the from the like the thirteenth floor or
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: something like the twelve or thirteenth floor. So basically these
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: rage elemental they're called rage elementals like level ninety three
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: arrangement elementals. So if you piss in the hall, if
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: this murder elemental is gonna show up and kill the shitty,
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: period as it should, just point blank period. The second
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: floor was actually like, it wasn't as long. I don't
- 1:39:48Speaker 3: remember it being as long like they actually like they
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: go through the second floor pretty quickly. It was just
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: more of Carl and Doughnut like mob farming, getting their stats.
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: Carl's trying to like get his strength up to beat
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: Donuts because for some reason, Donut is a lot stronger
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: than him. Yeah, he gets more, like he starts getting
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: more stats that help him with his like demolitions abilities
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: because he's using a lot of like traps and a
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: lot of explosives, and he gets.
- 1:40:22Speaker 13: Let me see here.
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Floor two goes by a lot quicker, even though
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: lasts longer. I'm just sorry, I'm just reviewing rung over
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: my notes from everything. So while they're going through the
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: floor and they're cleaning out mobs, they actually run into
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: the metal Ark people again. The metal Arc. The caretakers
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: had managed to like have found like some carts that
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: they were able to set all of the elderly people
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: in so that way they can just like pull the
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: carts along and keep everyone together. Because some of these
- 1:41:03Speaker 3: old bucks are like senile, so they're a little difficult
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: to handle. They're confused, all right, you know, some of
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: them are really sweet. But there was one elderly guy
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: who is a total asshole, right, like problematic and unfortunately,
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: like when Carl and Donut show up and run into
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: them again, this guy decides to drop his pants and
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: piss all over the walls, but does Yeah, as soon
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: as he does that, oh my god, dude, as soon
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: as he does that, one of the caretakers, unfortunately, she's
- 1:41:41Speaker 3: forced to shoot him because because they they take that
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: that warning seriously. If they piss on the if they
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: piss in the dungeon like outside of the bathroom, then
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: there there's gonna be or rage elemental. It's gonna be
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: somemon and it's gonna kill them all, all right. So
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: as soon as that caretaker sees this old dude drop
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: his pants to start nearing to start pissing on the wall,
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: she shoots an arrow into his into him, killing him instantly. Unfortunately,
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: his stream started, Yeah, and almost immediately a level ninety
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: three rage elemental appears. It's this ugly fiery beast. It
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: it shows up it and it managed it does manage
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: to kill one of the caretakers. Her name was Linda.
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: And the remaining like two or three caretakers were horrified
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: and there and they struggled to get the to rush
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: the rest of the of the seniors into the like
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: into the safe rooms. A few more of the seniors
- 1:42:44Speaker 3: unfortunately get killed by the elemental. Carl and Donut managed
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: to distract it and h they also managed to get
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: back into the get into the safe room. The thing is,
- 1:42:55Speaker 3: the Rage Elemental is very persistent, and it continues to
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: try to attack them from while they're in the safe room.
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: Like it will. It manages to pull open the door
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: so they're not able to close the door, but it
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: keeps trying to enter the room. But every time it enters,
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: the Dungeons mechanic will instantly teleport it to a random
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: space like far away from the safe room, but that
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: doesn't stop it. As soon as it teleports a way,
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: it immediately makes a b line back to the safe
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: room and tries to enter it again. And while they're
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: like going through this, they also like notice that there's
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: a lot of these like strange like bug mobs or
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: like maggots that keep appearing like everywhere, like they're being
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: like spammed. They're getting spammed with these with these maggots
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: like these like big grubs. They learned that those grubs
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: are also like gonna mutate into like these murder hornets,
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: and they need to kill as many of them as
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: possible before that happens, because these murder hornets are going
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: to be a lot stronger and a lot harder to
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: deal with the thing is they they realize they can't
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: they're not going to be able to Carl, they're not
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: gonna be able to escape the escape the safe room
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: while the Elemental is still there, because the Elemental is
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: not gonna is not going to despawn. So Carlin donut
- 1:44:13Speaker 3: wait for come up with a plan, and they wait
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: for the Elemental to get teleported away, and once it does,
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: they go outside. Carl pulls out his motorcycle from his
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: from his inventory. He starts laying these explosive traps everywhere
- 1:44:29Speaker 3: as he goes, and he waits just long enough for
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: the Elemental to come back or into view, and as
- 1:44:34Speaker 3: soon as it sees him, he throws a he checks
- 1:44:36Speaker 3: an explosive at it gets its attention and it starts
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: chasing them. Like he says, in this chase was pretty
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: like it was intense, Like this Elemental is fast and
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: they're barely able to keep to keep ahead of it.
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: So don't don'tant to keep shooting it with her with
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: her magic missiles and just keep it in sit in them. Uh,
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: they have to like navigate around the grubs that keep
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: popping up the grub mobs that pop up, and some
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: of the grub mobs are starting to cupate. I mean
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: they're about to transform into the murder hornets and they
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: so Carl. So Carl and Donut or Boat are now like, crap,
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: we have to not only deal with the Elemental, but
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: we have to deal with these grubs too, because they're
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: also creating like a rough terrain, So they have to
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: keep like navigating around them just to keep while keeping
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: ahead of the Elemental. And uh, early on in the
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: dune in the floor when they found the next staircase
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: leading down into level three. So they'd already found it,
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: but then they kept a note of its location, so
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: that way when the time comes and the floor's about
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: to collapse, they're gonna go ahead and go down it,
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: all right, So they've just been spending their time just
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: mob farming.
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and leveling up.
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: Uh. They learned pretty early on that there is a
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: way to that mobs cannot go down the stairways. If
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: they do, they die. So Carl had come up with
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: a plan. They're gonna lure the Elemental to the staircase
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: and they're going to try to like get it to
- 1:46:09Speaker 3: like go down the stairs like like try to trip
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: it into the staircase to kill it, and they actually succeed.
- 1:46:17Speaker 3: Unfortunately they do. Unfortunately for them, the motorcycle gets destroyed
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: in the process because Carl had to like stop and
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: like basically trip the motorcycle, so it flips up in
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: the air, and when it does that, the elemental like
- 1:46:31Speaker 3: jumps at them, crashes into the motorcycle and like gets
- 1:46:35Speaker 3: thrown into the staircase, and when he falls into the staircase,
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: it instantly disintegrates. So and Carl and don't like since
- 1:46:45Speaker 3: Carl was the one who like Unfortunately, they don't actually
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: get any that I don't get that much experience from
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: it because they didn't technically kill the elemental. He does
- 1:46:56Speaker 3: get into the AI does take pity on him. He
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: gives him a pretty decent achievement with the loop box. Uh.
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: They they take the they go back to the metal
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: Ark people and they decide, like, all right, this floor
- 1:47:11Speaker 3: is too dangerous for them, so they helped the metal
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: Ark people go down the second staircase. The two of
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: them spend the rest of their time leveling up as
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: much as possible. Near the end of the second floor,
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: they come across ah they come across a neighbor another
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: neighborhood boss and uh, which neighborhood boss was this?
- 1:47:32Speaker 14: It was this, it was a it wasn't a gnull.
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: Is it the null? No, it wasn't. I don't remember.
- 1:48:00Speaker 3: H oh that's what it was. So uh so this neighborhood.
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: So the neighborhood Boston particular. There it was in a
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: neighborhood that was controlled by Cobalts, which were like these
- 1:48:41Speaker 3: hyena like Uh the cobalts were like basically like murdered. Uh.
- 1:48:49Speaker 5: Hold on, Oh, it's the Frenzy Gerbil.
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: The Frenzy Gerbil. Yeah.
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: The last neighborhood they fight before going down and said
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: before this book ends is uh, it's called it's called Ralph,
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: the Frenzy Gerbil. It's literally a ravenous little Gerbil. Yeah,
- 1:49:21Speaker 3: and it's a level eleven, which at this point is
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: still higher than Carl and Donuts. So it was pretty
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: it was. It's a pretty tough little ship.
- 1:49:28Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: The thing is the Gerbil itself was is in a
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: what's called Cobalt territory. I forget where the COBALT's like
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: these lizard guys or are they like dogs? Hold on,
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: I hate.
- 1:49:44Speaker 2: I don't remember if they classify them as like Hyena
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: or the dragon like cobolts we know that we know
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: of from D and D.
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see.
- 1:50:05Speaker 13: I don't find like the when they fought the Cobalts,
- 1:50:07Speaker 13: because there is like a description. Okay, will you step
- 1:50:17Speaker 13: back a bit, yes, mm hmm uh, because I actually
- 1:50:25Speaker 13: forgot an important thought that was when they Okay, oh.
- 1:51:05Speaker 3: Yeah, Cobalds are cobalts in this are like they're like
- 1:51:08Speaker 3: dog people. M hm, like the minutes of dog people.
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: Like here's a low, here's a yeah, it's a here's
- 1:51:16Speaker 3: a description, here's an here Cobald rider level five. Here's
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: an interesting fact. The DNA of a Cobald and the
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: DNA of a Chuala are almost identical. That's to tell
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: you almost everything you need to know about these happy,
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: little assholes, small, angry, they think they're think they're bigger
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: than they really are. There's nothing more terrifying than a
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: pack of these little bastards charging at you across the battlefield,
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: at least in their own minds, at least in their
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: own minds. Don't but don't underestimate them either. They are fearless,
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: they are intelligent and they bite first, ask questions later.
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: Their mounts the danger Dingoes should probably worry you. So
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: cobalts are like these Chuala like humanoid creatures, while the
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: and they often ride danger Dingos, which are just dingoses.
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: Uh so yeah, so they didn't encounter cobalts and danger
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: dingoes uh near the somewhere close to the end of
- 1:52:08Speaker 3: the floor. They actually get invited onto a onto one
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: of the Dungeon Falls game shows. This game show is
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: run by a Orc prince who calls himself the Maestro.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: I hate him so much, so fucking much.
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: This dude is dick, he calls. He brings uh Carl
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: and Dona on this show, but he also brings two
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: other crawlers onto the show as well, And that's Frank
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: and Maggie, the player killers. And the thing is that
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: may Astro is like is taunting them all, and he
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: brought them all all on purpose. Because the thing is
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: that that trap that Carl had set for the two
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: player killers, it did go off, but it didn't hurt them.
- 1:52:52Speaker 3: It hurt their.
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: Daughter, yep, sure did.
- 1:52:56Speaker 3: So. What Carl didn't realize was that Frank and Maggie
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: had gone into the dungeon with their daughter. And the
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: thing is that while they they quickly took to the
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: player killing role, their daughter refused to level up by
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: killing other players. She didn't really want to fight or
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: do anything. She was just a scared fourteen year old girl.
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: And when Frank and Maggie had ambushed Carl and Donut,
- 1:53:28Speaker 3: her their daughter was hiding in the safe room's bathroom.
- 1:53:32Speaker 3: And when they came out, here's the thing, when they
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: went to chase Carl and Donut, they had made their daughter.
- 1:53:41Speaker 3: Frank had gone to check the corpse that Carl had trapped,
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: and when he found the explosive, he managed to get away,
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: but the explosion did a lot of damage to them,
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: and it fatally hurt their daughter. Now, the thing is,
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: they could have healed their daughter because they had healed
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: potions and scrolls, right. But the thing is is that Maggie,
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: who had really like gone off the deep end, thought
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: that their daughter was holding them back. So she ends
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: up killing her own dollar, her own daughter. Yeah, they
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: blamed Carl for it, and I'm like, yeah, Carl set
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: the trap, but because he thought because it was for
- 1:54:22Speaker 3: you too, Yeah, it was for those two.
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: And no one told you to kill your daughter. Exactly,
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: you could have healed her exactly. You did that your
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: own damn self.
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: Mm hmm.
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: But now Maggie, now Maggie and Frank both have like
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: a vendetta against.
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: I hate Maggie and Frank so much.
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: Maggie is the worst. Later on, Frank actually, like Frank
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: is the one who actually feels guilt over what happened,
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: because he was the one who.
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: In like book four three or four yeah.
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: Yeah, and he feels like he still wants to kill Carl.
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: But it's Maggie who's the one who turns into a
- 1:55:02Speaker 3: total murder hobo literally literally yeah. So uh, Karl manages
- 1:55:10Speaker 3: to piss off the Maestro, and the Maestro reveals that
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: he and his family, the Royal who are like the
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: Royal family of like the Orcish Empire the Skull Empire. Uh,
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: they participate in the war games on the ninth floor.
- 1:55:27Speaker 3: So like, uh, I forgot what are the war games
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: called the I'll remember it later. It's not important because
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: it's not important now, but they participate because later on
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: in the in the game, as you go deeper into
- 1:55:46Speaker 3: the dungeon, UH, Syndicate syndicate members can take it can
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: actually participate in the dungeon crawls, so like on the
- 1:55:54Speaker 3: fourth on the sixth level, the sixth level is known
- 1:55:57Speaker 3: as the hunting grounds, and the hunting grounds is where
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: the syndicate hires hunters to go into the dungeon and
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: start hunting crawlers. Now they do this because the syndicate,
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: the Syndicon has different factions, and the ninth floor is
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: known as the faction wars. So you have a bunch
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: of these syndicate factions like orcs that uh, you have Orcs, elves,
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: the Naga, the Mantids, the reavers, all these different like
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: alien species will like set up factions in the dungeon
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: and like just basically play a war game where they
- 1:56:35Speaker 3: all like uh send their armies against each other, and
- 1:56:38Speaker 3: the crawlers often get caught up in the middle. Most
- 1:56:41Speaker 3: of most crawlers have to like try to escape the
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: areas where the wars are going, and if they don't escape,
- 1:56:45Speaker 3: the factions can actually conscript them to fight for them.
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: So it's it's a mess. But like before the faction
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: wars happened, the hunting grounds, uh, the sixth floor, which
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: is the hunting grounds, is hosted that and they send
- 1:57:01Speaker 3: their hunters in to kill as many Crawlers as possible
- 1:57:03Speaker 3: and steal their chances at equipment so they can use
- 1:57:07Speaker 3: it for the Faction Wars now, and my instrovial is
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: that he is participating in the Faction Wars and he
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: personally is going to enjoy killing Karl. Yeah, but after this,
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: so after their being hosted on this talk show, they
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: get sent back to the krawl and they go deeper
- 1:57:29Speaker 3: into the into the COBALT's territory and they find the
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: neighborhood Boss and it's in the When they're approaching the
- 1:57:35Speaker 3: Neighborhood Boss room, they kill more of the Cobalts and
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: they find that a lot of the danger Dingos are
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: being locked up in cages, and Carl learns that you
- 1:57:44Speaker 3: can actually befriends. He's like like pet type mobs, right
- 1:57:49Speaker 3: because the danger Dingos are considered pets. So he manages
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: to befriend a bunch of them by feeding them and
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: unlocking their cages and letting them go free. But they
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: go deeper into the neighborhood Boss room and they find
- 1:58:02Speaker 3: the actual neighborhood Boss, which is Ralph the frenzied Gerbil.
- 1:58:08Speaker 3: So it's a literal Gerbil teeny little palm sized gerbil,
- 1:58:12Speaker 3: but it's a level eleven and it's insanely strong, and
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: it almost kills Carl and Donut. The thing is like,
- 1:58:20Speaker 3: after befriending the and the danger dingos, the one they
- 1:58:24Speaker 3: there was one particular danger dingo that they befriended, like
- 1:58:26Speaker 3: it was the very first one they befriended. It comes
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: back and it actually eats Ralph, like snaps him up
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: and swallows it. Hole. This gives Carl and Donut a
- 1:58:37Speaker 3: temporary reprieve, but unfortunately that did not kill Ralph the Gerbil.
- 1:58:43Speaker 3: So I feel bad for the danger dingo because like,
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: even though it ate Ralph, Ralph ends up seeling its
- 1:58:49Speaker 3: way out of the out of the dingo's stomach and
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: like literally just shoots out of the danger Dingo like
- 1:58:56Speaker 3: a bullet and tacks Carl, and Carl manages to knock
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: it down and stuns it, and oh god. The thing
- 1:59:06Speaker 3: is is that like in order to like, it was
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: almost dead and Carl has to kill it, and uh,
- 1:59:15Speaker 3: he's like, and well, the best way to kill it
- 1:59:18Speaker 3: is by stepping on it, and he squished it with
- 1:59:21Speaker 3: his foot. Ladies and gentlemen, it's not just the it's
- 1:59:26Speaker 3: not just the the achievements that the AI will give
- 1:59:31Speaker 3: that are unhinged. It's the fact that, since it has
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: control over the shape of the dungeon itself, it can
- 1:59:38Speaker 3: cause the dungeonsy like react. It can actually cause the
- 1:59:41Speaker 3: dungeon to react. And when when Carl, when Carl kills
- 1:59:46Speaker 3: the frenzy Gerbil by smushing it with his foot, the
- 1:59:51Speaker 3: dungeon grown it fucking groans.
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: Cross I read.
- 1:59:57Speaker 3: I'm reading that verbatim.
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: Yeah, ground, yeah, is shirted.
- 2:00:02Speaker 3: Groaned is shirted. I'm mm hmm. His actual heads, his
- 2:00:10Speaker 3: hud Ronald's heads of display actually flickers like the entire
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: let me let me read you this, Let me read
- 2:00:18Speaker 3: you this. The dungeon growed it fucking groaned. I saw
- 2:00:24Speaker 3: it as I watched my foot on the metal bar
- 2:00:26Speaker 3: of the cage. The entire dungeon rumbled as if it
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: was experiencing a small earthquake. My hud flickered. I feel
- 2:00:34Speaker 3: I felt dirty and sick. I rubbed my foot over
- 2:00:37Speaker 3: and over, but the blood wouldn't come off. And hold on,
- 2:00:41Speaker 3: it's a freaking achievement for this. Let's see here, has
- 2:00:52Speaker 3: he not get an achievement? For killing the Okay, it
- 2:00:58Speaker 3: doesn't Okay, so the he didn't get a fucked up
- 2:01:02Speaker 3: achievement from that, but he literally made the entire dungeon grown.
- 2:01:07Speaker 2: Oh oh god, no, no, I need an adult.
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: We are adults.
- 2:01:18Speaker 3: I'm in danger.
- 2:01:20Speaker 1: I would scream and panic.
- 2:01:24Speaker 3: Oh oh god, AI is unhinged.
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: This a need this Ai needs to be put down.
- 2:01:36Speaker 3: Uh huh. Anyway, the cool thing is is after killing
- 2:01:41Speaker 3: the the the Gerbil, they not only get the neighborhood
- 2:01:46Speaker 3: map because after killing uh, after killing the neighborhood boss,
- 2:01:49Speaker 3: they get a map that will reveal all like secret
- 2:01:52Speaker 3: locations and the location of any moms within that neighborhood
- 2:01:56Speaker 3: and uh, they also get a master penkey. So the
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: thing is the Colbald Neighborhood Boss room was basically it's
- 2:02:04Speaker 3: like like a big old kennel full of animals, mainly
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: the danger dingoes, but this kennel had a bunch of
- 2:02:11Speaker 3: like had other pets in it too, And it turns
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: out that they discovered a reward. They after killing the
- 2:02:22Speaker 3: neighborhood boss, they had discovered a reward reward room reward.
- 2:02:30Speaker 3: I'm not having a stroke or something. I can't talk
- 2:02:32Speaker 3: right now. A reward, a reward reward room. They discover
- 2:02:46Speaker 3: a reward room and it's filled with several options for
- 2:02:51Speaker 3: them to pick for a new pet. Sou so they
- 2:02:56Speaker 3: so they get a new achievement, the new achievement. I'll
- 2:02:59Speaker 3: I'll take the ceramic Dalmatian pat You've discovered You have
- 2:03:03Speaker 3: discovered a reward room. Scattered throughout the dungeon. Reward rooms
- 2:03:06Speaker 3: offer crawlers items generally not available within loop boxes. Most
- 2:03:10Speaker 3: reward rooms only allow one choice. So if you're in
- 2:03:13Speaker 3: a party of multiple people, tell them I said you
- 2:03:15Speaker 3: should get the prize, not them reward. Don't be a
- 2:03:18Speaker 3: greedy bitch. The goddamn room is in is the reward,
- 2:03:22Speaker 3: and then they get another they get another achievement. So
- 2:03:25Speaker 3: this chief, this next achievement like specifies the kind of
- 2:03:28Speaker 3: reward room they discovered. New achievement menagerie, you have discovered
- 2:03:33Speaker 3: a pet reward room. From caterpillars who secret who secrete vodka,
- 2:03:37Speaker 3: to vassilist who can turn mobs to stone, a good
- 2:03:41Speaker 3: pet can make the difference between survival and the end
- 2:03:44Speaker 3: of the road. Just remember what happened with Harambi, not
- 2:03:48Speaker 3: fucking Harambi.
- 2:03:49Speaker 1: No harambe not harame.
- 2:03:54Speaker 3: There ain't no zoo keepers around to shoot the monsters.
- 2:03:56Speaker 3: Ass If you buy off more than you can chew
- 2:03:59Speaker 3: reward you have you have a key. It opens only
- 2:04:02Speaker 3: one cage. Figure it out, Einstein, who all right, So,
- 2:04:09Speaker 3: uh so they figure it out. So they got a key,
- 2:04:11Speaker 3: and they can open one of the kennels in the room,
- 2:04:14Speaker 3: so they can pick. They can pick a pet. They
- 2:04:16Speaker 3: get a new pet, and uh so they so there's ten.
- 2:04:21Speaker 3: There was ten cages. Carl didn't really think any of
- 2:04:25Speaker 3: them looked really impressive, mainly because, like they these pets,
- 2:04:31Speaker 3: I guess because they're on the second floor. The pets
- 2:04:33Speaker 3: don't really look that interesting. Yeah, so let's see here.
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: The first animal was a parent thing with a long beak,
- 2:04:42Speaker 3: a jew it's called a juvenile ribbon wing. And then
- 2:04:46Speaker 3: the next one was a green slime, and then a rap,
- 2:04:49Speaker 3: and then a meatball with two legs and a mohawk
- 2:04:51Speaker 3: called a tummy archer. Tommy archers are actually very useful
- 2:04:55Speaker 3: in this game. H Of the first four, only the
- 2:05:00Speaker 3: slime in the rat had white dots. So the if
- 2:05:03Speaker 3: the dot on the map is red, it's they're an
- 2:05:05Speaker 3: enemy or they're a hostile and if they're white, that
- 2:05:08Speaker 3: means they're neutral. And then there was a row of
- 2:05:11Speaker 3: equally pitiful animals followed up, including a white tagged brindled grub.
- 2:05:18Speaker 3: So the brindle grubs are the ones that they that
- 2:05:21Speaker 3: turned into those murder hornets.
- 2:05:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and.
- 2:05:27Speaker 3: The murdered hornets are are called brindled vespas. All thought
- 2:05:34Speaker 3: that the brindled vest that having a brindled vespa would
- 2:05:37Speaker 3: be a good choice because after fighting them, he knows
- 2:05:40Speaker 3: that they're pretty they would be pretty useful. Donut, on
- 2:05:44Speaker 3: the other hand, who was the who is because her
- 2:05:48Speaker 3: staffs are higher than carls, she gets the final She's
- 2:05:53Speaker 3: technically the party leader, so she gets the final say
- 2:05:56Speaker 3: of who gets to open the cage with the key. So,
- 2:06:01Speaker 3: and the thing is she noticed the the pet in
- 2:06:05Speaker 3: the very last cage, the tenth cage, which is a
- 2:06:09Speaker 3: which was a chicken dinosaur thing with pink downy feathers.
- 2:06:15Speaker 3: It was ugly. That's an ugly.
- 2:06:18Speaker 1: Little thing and so great I love him.
- 2:06:24Speaker 3: So here these are these are carls like internal this
- 2:06:28Speaker 3: is like this is the all first person, by the way,
- 2:06:30Speaker 3: from like the it's written from the first person. The
- 2:06:32Speaker 3: thing looked pitophal. I immediately saw why why don't liked it?
- 2:06:36Speaker 3: It landed firmly in the it's so damn ugly, it's
- 2:06:40Speaker 3: cute category. It was probably seven inches tall. It stood
- 2:06:44Speaker 3: on two legs and cocked its head at me. The
- 2:06:47Speaker 3: damn thing looks like a raw piece of chicken with
- 2:06:49Speaker 3: a few random pink hued feathers attached to it. It
- 2:06:51Speaker 3: had two tiny foe arms instead of wings, and a
- 2:06:55Speaker 3: long serpentine tael. It squawks, opening its beach's mouth, revealing
- 2:07:00Speaker 3: a row of tea. It was called a Mongolian esis,
- 2:07:05Speaker 3: a Mongolian Mongolian cis. I think it really did have
- 2:07:15Speaker 3: a stroke. It was also red tagged. I can't pronounce
- 2:07:23Speaker 3: that ship u h anyway. So let's see, Yeah, so
- 2:07:39Speaker 3: you can guess which one it? Which one donut chooses.
- 2:07:44Speaker 1: The murdered chicken, the murdered chicken.
- 2:07:48Speaker 3: Yep. The thing is is that uh don'ut like they
- 2:07:52Speaker 3: don't have much time to like the donuts taking your time,
- 2:07:56Speaker 3: like making their decision, and they and there's like a
- 2:07:59Speaker 3: short time limit like when on how long they have
- 2:08:01Speaker 3: to pick a to pick a pet. If they don't
- 2:08:04Speaker 3: pick it, then sit out of luck, So of course
- 2:08:08Speaker 3: she picks the murder chicken. And the thing is that
- 2:08:15Speaker 3: the murder chicken is uh is hostile, so they have
- 2:08:19Speaker 3: to tame it, and it bites Donut a few times,
- 2:08:22Speaker 3: and Donut names the little Uh it's a dinosaur. It's
- 2:08:26Speaker 3: a dinosaur dinosaur, so yes, it is a dinosaur. And
- 2:08:33Speaker 3: Karl has to grab it and restrain it, and it's
- 2:08:35Speaker 3: still kind of hostile, and like after it bites, after
- 2:08:44Speaker 3: it bites Donut a couple of times, Karl has to
- 2:08:47Speaker 3: really like struggle not to laugh his ass off. Carl
- 2:08:51Speaker 3: reads a subscription UH male Mongolian Nieces level one. This
- 2:08:56Speaker 3: is a pet class mob. The pet has not yet
- 2:08:59Speaker 3: been bought with the crawler. The stubborn and hot headed
- 2:09:02Speaker 3: Mongolian Nieces is not. It is not the type of
- 2:09:05Speaker 3: pet to be to ever be pained. The best one
- 2:09:09Speaker 3: can hope for is mutual respect, and even then they
- 2:09:13Speaker 3: still might try to eat you if the fancy strikes them,
- 2:09:16Speaker 3: especially powerful, fast, and vicious when they're fully grown at
- 2:09:19Speaker 3: level fifteen. Getting them to level fifteen is about as
- 2:09:22Speaker 3: likely as a cheerleader from West Virginia reaching her eighteen
- 2:09:24Speaker 3: birthday as a Virgin they will immediately attack any mobs
- 2:09:29Speaker 3: they see. They will fight to the death. Good luck.
- 2:09:35Speaker 4: Damn.
- 2:09:35Speaker 3: Yeah, Carl was not happy that she chose the little
- 2:09:39Speaker 3: murdered chicken.
- 2:09:40Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god.
- 2:09:45Speaker 3: But eventually they managed to take They managed to go
- 2:09:49Speaker 3: through the process of getting Mango, Mango the dinosaur to
- 2:09:53Speaker 3: bond with them. They have to actually they have to
- 2:09:56Speaker 3: let it like basically they have to feed it and
- 2:09:59Speaker 3: basically like it attack any mobs it comes across, this
- 2:10:02Speaker 3: tiny little murder chicken attacking mobs. It's cute. But they
- 2:10:06Speaker 3: do eventually bond to it, and later on they finally
- 2:10:12Speaker 3: figure out what kind of pet, what kind of dinosaur
- 2:10:15Speaker 3: it is. It's a velociraptor.
- 2:10:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's a velociraptor. I called it.
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: I reading it.
- 2:10:24Speaker 1: I'll let's do it.
- 2:10:25Speaker 2: And I'm like, that's gonna be a velociraptor. Bet yep, yep,
- 2:10:29Speaker 2: sure was.
- 2:10:30Speaker 4: Sure fucking was mm hmm yep.
- 2:10:33Speaker 2: Play with the feathers and everything, and I'm like, oh,
- 2:10:36Speaker 2: love it.
- 2:10:38Speaker 3: Yeah, So they do eventually, So they have to. They
- 2:10:42Speaker 3: do have to spend the rest of their time on
- 2:10:43Speaker 3: the floor to taming Mango, but they eventually they eventually do,
- 2:10:47Speaker 3: and that's when they realize it's a velociraptor. And because
- 2:10:50Speaker 3: as they're attaining it, it's leveling up and starting to
- 2:10:53Speaker 3: get bigger. As it's getting bigger, it's feathers are starting
- 2:10:56Speaker 3: to like fill out more, and they start to realize, like,
- 2:10:59Speaker 3: wait a second, does that look familiar to you?
- 2:11:04Speaker 1: That's as.
- 2:11:06Speaker 3: It's a velociraptor. So Mango is a male velociraptor, and
- 2:11:11Speaker 3: he actually becomes like a pivotal character to like as
- 2:11:14Speaker 3: part of the story. You know, he's he When he
- 2:11:16Speaker 3: gets to full to his full size at level fifteen, uh,
- 2:11:21Speaker 3: Donut ends up turning him into her mouth, so she'll
- 2:11:24Speaker 3: ride on his back into battle. Because Donut is a
- 2:11:28Speaker 3: caster shed she remains as like a caster type crawler,
- 2:11:32Speaker 3: so she doesn't really like fight that.
- 2:11:35Speaker 1: Yeah she's a glass Yeah she's a glass cannon.
- 2:11:38Speaker 3: Yeah do you do a lot of damage? But if
- 2:11:40Speaker 3: you if you smack her, she dies, yeah, pretty so much.
- 2:11:44Speaker 3: He so much as look at her wrong she does. Yeah, wizard,
- 2:11:50Speaker 3: he's like a D and D wizard.
- 2:11:52Speaker 2: These wizards out of this. I know where you're going
- 2:11:55Speaker 2: with that. Leave that out of it. Leave my glass
- 2:11:57Speaker 2: cannon out of it. She's she's a fucking sun but
- 2:11:59Speaker 2: tall power or lesbian, love her, leave her alone, thank you,
- 2:12:05Speaker 2: thank you.
- 2:12:06Speaker 3: So the two of them do have a do go
- 2:12:10Speaker 3: on one final talk show with Odette before finally descending
- 2:12:14Speaker 3: into the third floor and permissions when they realized that
- 2:12:18Speaker 3: their little murdered chicken is a velociraptor and uh, they
- 2:12:23Speaker 3: now now they have a good idea of what they
- 2:12:25Speaker 3: want to be in terms of class, and uh, this
- 2:12:30Speaker 3: is where the book is going to end. Let's see,
- 2:12:35Speaker 3: I just want to let me look at like some
- 2:12:36Speaker 3: quick details, real quick. Okay, yep, they'll go on one
- 2:12:59Speaker 3: final talk show with Odette, and it's it's when they're
- 2:13:02Speaker 3: on the top. It's actually when they're on the talk
- 2:13:04Speaker 3: show that they're that their borring, their borring company assigned agent.
- 2:13:13Speaker 3: So uh, the so the showrunners, uh is the quats
- 2:13:18Speaker 3: In the Race of the quats In. But there's an
- 2:13:21Speaker 3: actual company with from the quats In that runs the
- 2:13:24Speaker 3: that actually runs the show, which and they're called the
- 2:13:27Speaker 3: it's called the Boran Company. And certain high value uh
- 2:13:33Speaker 3: like certain like high value crawlers, crawlers with a lot
- 2:13:36Speaker 3: of popularity, they get assigned an agent so their agents,
- 2:13:39Speaker 3: So Carlin don't get assign an agent named.
- 2:13:44Speaker 5: I love her.
- 2:13:45Speaker 3: She's a younger quats In and she's actually pretty sympathetic
- 2:13:48Speaker 3: to their cause because like she she's not fully on
- 2:13:51Speaker 3: board with the dungeon crawl, but because of like the
- 2:13:55Speaker 3: very like fascist style regime that the that the Syndicate
- 2:14:00Speaker 3: runs on. Yeah, she has no she can't really like
- 2:14:05Speaker 3: be very outspoken about it, sadly, but she's sympathetic to them.
- 2:14:10Speaker 3: She's very like she tries to help them as much
- 2:14:12Speaker 3: as she can. And uh she tells them about like
- 2:14:17Speaker 3: what uh what mango really is, and they learn a
- 2:14:21Speaker 3: few more things about uh, not just the Borant company,
- 2:14:26Speaker 3: but another company called the Vaulty. The Vaulta Company is
- 2:14:28Speaker 3: owned by another faction in the Syndicate, And uh, I
- 2:14:34Speaker 3: don't know what their actual species is called. They just
- 2:14:36Speaker 3: call them valty worms. So the Vaulta are like have
- 2:14:40Speaker 3: you ever seen Stargate?
- 2:14:44Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, like.
- 2:14:45Speaker 2: The little parasites that like little worms are going people's
- 2:14:49Speaker 2: into hosts bodies, brains, and they kind of hijack them yep.
- 2:14:54Speaker 3: Basically yeah most of the time, yeah, most of the time,
- 2:14:56Speaker 3: the Vaulty like they take they take willing hosts, but
- 2:15:00Speaker 3: acasionally the Volta will like sign contracts with people, so
- 2:15:04Speaker 3: like with some people and basically like you, they won't
- 2:15:06Speaker 3: get implanted with a Vaulty worm yet, but if that
- 2:15:09Speaker 3: person were to die, then their corpse will be given
- 2:15:12Speaker 3: to uh, their corpse will become property of the Volta
- 2:15:15Speaker 3: and the Volta Worm will like take over the corpse
- 2:15:18Speaker 3: and reanimate it so they can bring a person back
- 2:15:21Speaker 3: to life. But they're now under the total control of
- 2:15:24Speaker 3: the of that Vaulty worm. Yeah, so it's not really sure.
- 2:15:29Speaker 3: There's not there's not really I'm not really sure if
- 2:15:32Speaker 3: like that corpse is basically resurrected as they were, or
- 2:15:35Speaker 3: if like they're just dead and now the and now
- 2:15:37Speaker 3: the Vaulty Worm is just like running the show. Who knows.
- 2:15:42Speaker 3: But there's like some po behind the scenes politics, like
- 2:15:47Speaker 3: we you'll you'll later learn that the Boran Company is
- 2:15:49Speaker 3: in a lot of debt, like the Quwatson in general
- 2:15:52Speaker 3: is in a lot of debt, mainly towards the towards
- 2:15:56Speaker 3: the Vaalty, and they Carlin don't learn. We'll later learn
- 2:16:02Speaker 3: that the Boran Company had rushed this season of The
- 2:16:07Speaker 3: Dungeon Crawls as like a cash grab because since they're
- 2:16:11Speaker 3: so in debt and they're about to become bankrupt and
- 2:16:13Speaker 3: their system is about to be repossessed by the vaulty
- 2:16:16Speaker 3: like seize their assets are about to be seized by
- 2:16:18Speaker 3: the VAULTA, so like one big hostel takeover. They were
- 2:16:21Speaker 3: hoping that this crawl would make them enough money to
- 2:16:24Speaker 3: like keep them out of like uh like keep them
- 2:16:28Speaker 3: from beginning having all their assets seized and keep their
- 2:16:31Speaker 3: autonomy and not get taken over by the Vaulte. So
- 2:16:35Speaker 3: they start you'll start to see some interference from like
- 2:16:37Speaker 3: the game, We'll start seeing interference from these other alien factions,
- 2:16:42Speaker 3: like the Skull Empire, like you know, the Orcs and
- 2:16:46Speaker 3: the Skull Empire. They tend they do some shady stuff.
- 2:16:49Speaker 3: Later on, they almost assassinate Carl a couple of times
- 2:16:53Speaker 3: by trying to blow up his trailer because whenever they
- 2:16:56Speaker 3: get transported to like a talk show, they're not actually
- 2:16:59Speaker 3: transported to a studio across the galaxy. They're transported into
- 2:17:04Speaker 3: a kind of like a trailer on a boat on
- 2:17:07Speaker 3: the surface of Earth, and it's from there that they're
- 2:17:10Speaker 3: holographically broadcasted to the talk show, like like to the
- 2:17:14Speaker 3: actual talk show, so they're only like remotely being interviewed,
- 2:17:17Speaker 3: but they're not they're not actually physically there. And the
- 2:17:21Speaker 3: Skull Empire tries to assassinate Carl a couple like a
- 2:17:24Speaker 3: couple of times, but only manages to like kill somebody
- 2:17:26Speaker 3: else instead, and that puts them in deep ship.
- 2:17:31Speaker 2: Drama, political drama.
- 2:17:34Speaker 3: Some of the sponsors of other dungeon crawlers try to
- 2:17:40Speaker 3: like sneak in like information to give them the advantage
- 2:17:43Speaker 3: over Carl, and that causes like that's a big no no. Yeah,
- 2:17:47Speaker 3: there's a lot of drama this book. I have to
- 2:17:50Speaker 3: say it was it was really good. I was reading it.
- 2:17:53Speaker 3: I was hooked, and uh, like, it was funny and
- 2:17:58Speaker 3: it's satirical. It's very like it's it's it's it's kind
- 2:18:03Speaker 3: of it's definitely like a it's holding up a mirror
- 2:18:05Speaker 3: to how like entertainment, the entertainment industry has become how
- 2:18:09Speaker 3: we like, especially with my with reality television, Like myself,
- 2:18:13Speaker 3: I hate reality TV. Like if I sort of got
- 2:18:17Speaker 3: if someone turns on to the Kardashian if I want
- 2:18:19Speaker 3: to just like I just want to throw a rock
- 2:18:20Speaker 3: at the TV.
- 2:18:23Speaker 2: I'm a mild kind of stewer of reality television now.
- 2:18:29Speaker 2: Back in the day, I will say, back in high school,
- 2:18:31Speaker 2: and shit, I did watch The Jersey Shore religiously because
- 2:18:35Speaker 2: I was like a train rack and I couldn't stop
- 2:18:37Speaker 2: watching it. Watch Flavor of Love, I Love New York,
- 2:18:40Speaker 2: the whole VHS uh VH one, s I VH one
- 2:18:45Speaker 2: reality bubble that they created in the two thousands. I was,
- 2:18:49Speaker 2: I was up in that, and of course, I guess.
- 2:18:51Speaker 2: I mean, the only reality show I've watched really now
- 2:18:53Speaker 2: is drag Race. But drag Race and Dragula that's about it.
- 2:18:59Speaker 3: I can't with any of those reality shows or like
- 2:19:03Speaker 3: game shows, like I can't even watch Dancing with the Stars.
- 2:19:07Speaker 1: It's such trash.
- 2:19:10Speaker 3: Like the only I only like recently watched some clips
- 2:19:14Speaker 3: from Dancing with the Stars because because Robert Irwin was
- 2:19:17Speaker 3: on it. Yeah it was on this past season and
- 2:19:19Speaker 3: he won, which I'm happy for, like good brand. But
- 2:19:23Speaker 3: I just can't with reality shows. Every time I watched it,
- 2:19:25Speaker 3: I'm just like, okay, So, like I'm seeing these people
- 2:19:28Speaker 3: A lot of them are like well off, rich or
- 2:19:31Speaker 3: like in better positions in life where you think like
- 2:19:33Speaker 3: they have their shit together, right, No, they're fucking train wrecks. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:19:39Speaker 3: all right, No, like, if I have to, if like
- 2:19:41Speaker 3: you want to torture me, just like time my ass
- 2:19:44Speaker 3: to a chair and make me watch reality TV.
- 2:19:47Speaker 2: Don't threaten me with a good time, I'll do it.
- 2:19:52Speaker 2: I'm sure Alex knows some real and your boyfriend knows
- 2:19:55Speaker 2: some reality shows that that you could probably force you
- 2:19:58Speaker 2: to watch.
- 2:19:59Speaker 3: Ye, I'm not sure if he watches reality shows. I
- 2:20:02Speaker 3: gotta ask him.
- 2:20:03Speaker 1: I'm sure he does at some point in his life.
- 2:20:06Speaker 3: I mean he watches YouTube a lot. So I mean
- 2:20:08Speaker 3: some YouTube. Yeah, there's a lot. There's some content on
- 2:20:12Speaker 3: YouTube that are pretty much reality shows. But yeah, So
- 2:20:18Speaker 3: that was Dungeon Crawler Carl. I love this series. I
- 2:20:25Speaker 3: binge this. I've binge read this series within two months.
- 2:20:29Speaker 3: I'm still on book seven right now. I'm still reading, uh,
- 2:20:32Speaker 3: The This Inevitable Ruin. So that's the seventh book. There
- 2:20:36Speaker 3: is an eighth book coming out in June of next year,
- 2:20:39Speaker 3: the The Parade of Horribles, that's what it's called.
- 2:20:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:20:44Speaker 3: So yeah, it's funny because each like after Dungeon Crawler Carl,
- 2:20:49Speaker 3: each book has like the names of each book is like, uh,
- 2:20:53Speaker 3: it's pretty much gives away the theme of like what
- 2:20:57Speaker 3: they're dealing with in that floor, because after this book
- 2:21:01Speaker 3: one was just the first two floors. Yeah, all right,
- 2:21:03Speaker 3: the tutorial floors, all right. Book floor three is the
- 2:21:08Speaker 3: last is also a tutorial floor, but it's the very
- 2:21:10Speaker 3: last one, and it's the one that the that the
- 2:21:13Speaker 3: Dungeon Crawlers can start picking their races and their classes.
- 2:21:17Speaker 3: All right, So it's a lot more fun. We get
- 2:21:19Speaker 3: to see what class and race the two of them choose,
- 2:21:23Speaker 3: Carl and don't choose. The next book is gonna be
- 2:21:26Speaker 3: called the Dungeon Crawler, the Dungeon Anarchists. Oh no, no, no,
- 2:21:30Speaker 3: I'm sorry, that's book three, Book two. I'm sorry. I
- 2:21:35Speaker 3: forgot I took my I was looking up at them
- 2:21:36Speaker 3: like I have them on my top shelf up here. Yeah,
- 2:21:38Speaker 3: I forgot. I took this one. I forgot. I was like, oh,
- 2:21:40Speaker 3: I took this one down, so I was looking at
- 2:21:42Speaker 3: the third one. No, okay, next, okay, So next time
- 2:21:46Speaker 3: we are gonna be reviewing book two, and that is
- 2:21:50Speaker 3: Carl's doomsday scenario. Yeah, so it's gonna be a lot
- 2:21:55Speaker 3: of fun. It's uh, I think I like after this one,
- 2:22:00Speaker 3: it's gonna become it's gonna be a lot more straightforward
- 2:22:02Speaker 3: in the story because this one had like a lot
- 2:22:04Speaker 3: of world building and had a lot of like it
- 2:22:06Speaker 3: set the stage of like the different alien races that
- 2:22:08Speaker 3: are involved, and also like the not just the dynamics
- 2:22:12Speaker 3: that go on in the dungeon, but also the dynamics
- 2:22:14Speaker 3: that go behind the scenes or like the backstage, right, yeah,
- 2:22:18Speaker 3: that goes on backstage. Now. I do want to point
- 2:22:22Speaker 3: out that if you buy these hard coffees, the Dungeon
- 2:22:27Speaker 3: Crawler series, especially the hard coffees, you can get them
- 2:22:30Speaker 3: at Barnes and Noble, or if you could be like me,
- 2:22:32Speaker 3: who's cheap, I buy them from Amazon because they're a
- 2:22:35Speaker 3: lot cheaper on Amazon. These hardcover books come with a
- 2:22:39Speaker 3: little extra at the end of each book. So I
- 2:22:43Speaker 3: don't know, does the ebook have that too, I don't.
- 2:22:46Speaker 1: I don't think, so what's the extra stuff at the end.
- 2:22:51Speaker 3: So the extra stuff at the end, so like right here,
- 2:22:54Speaker 3: there is bonus material for at the end of each book,
- 2:22:57Speaker 3: and it's for the backstage at the Pineapple Cabaret. Oh,
- 2:23:03Speaker 3: so I'm not gonna I'm I'm not going to review
- 2:23:08Speaker 3: this little snippet because I don't want to give any
- 2:23:10Speaker 3: spoils but spoilers, but it's like a but I'll just
- 2:23:14Speaker 3: give you an idea. Like after each floor, certain mobs
- 2:23:19Speaker 3: that they had interacted with or like major mobs that
- 2:23:22Speaker 3: they had to fight but may not have necessarily killed,
- 2:23:25Speaker 3: we'll get taken to the backstage and begin setting up
- 2:23:29Speaker 3: some sort of like new like level. I'm not gonna
- 2:23:33Speaker 3: go too further into details, but there's but in this one,
- 2:23:37Speaker 3: a pair of and this like from the first two levels,
- 2:23:40Speaker 3: a pair of a certain pair of Goblin shamans, a
- 2:23:47Speaker 3: party Lama, and a few other and a few other
- 2:23:49Speaker 3: mobs that they had encountered get taken to this backstage
- 2:23:53Speaker 3: area and and begin an opportunity to level up. So
- 2:23:59Speaker 3: if you want to read the bonus materials, you can
- 2:24:01Speaker 3: read it on these editions, the hardcover editions of the
- 2:24:06Speaker 3: Dungeon Crawler series. So like I have them all so far,
- 2:24:10Speaker 3: So I have all the hardcovers and each one has
- 2:24:14Speaker 3: the bonus material in it. So it's setting it's definitely
- 2:24:17Speaker 3: setting up for some sort of climatic, some sort of climax.
- 2:24:21Speaker 3: We don't I don't know exactly where it's taking but
- 2:24:24Speaker 3: so far like it's it.
- 2:24:29Speaker 2: What we'll probably do is, instead of doing the bonus
- 2:24:35Speaker 2: content after each at the end of each book, because
- 2:24:39Speaker 2: I'm sure some of them do have spoilers think I have,
- 2:24:41Speaker 2: we should probably do like a whole episode of just
- 2:24:43Speaker 2: strictly the bonus content because I don't know any of
- 2:24:47Speaker 2: this bonus content, because I'm pretty sure the audiobooks don't
- 2:24:50Speaker 2: have that.
- 2:24:51Speaker 1: So I'm like, no, I'm like, huh.
- 2:24:53Speaker 3: If you've never if you've never heard of backstage at
- 2:24:56Speaker 3: the at the Pineapple Cabaret, they know you know, Nope,
- 2:25:00Speaker 3: you brought.
- 2:25:00Speaker 2: In the Shamas now Shamans and the Lama And I'm like, huh,
- 2:25:04Speaker 2: I don't remember that.
- 2:25:06Speaker 3: Mm hmm, yeah, listen, Yes, that's right. People make sure
- 2:25:11Speaker 3: to read, not listen to audiobooks.
- 2:25:14Speaker 1: Hold the funk up.
- 2:25:16Speaker 2: Actually, actually I could read the first one because I
- 2:25:18Speaker 2: had the first book. There's a first book somewhere in
- 2:25:20Speaker 2: the house on this bookshelf, so I can go read it.
- 2:25:23Speaker 1: I actually will go read it, you know what, It's fine,
- 2:25:24Speaker 1: I'll go read it.
- 2:25:26Speaker 2: But uh, that is the first book of the series,
- 2:25:30Speaker 2: Dungeon Coler Carl called Dungeon color Carl Book one, same
- 2:25:34Speaker 2: me the book. Anyway, catchy'll next time to talk about
- 2:25:37Speaker 2: book two, which is Carl's doomsday scenario.
- 2:25:41Speaker 3: That's the one yeah scenario.
- 2:25:44Speaker 1: So until then, y'all peace out, good
