- 0:22Speaker 2: Why are you feeling good this early in the morning.
- 0:25Speaker 4: And I'm feeling good right now because we actually have
- 0:28Speaker 4: somebody wanting to share their joy with us right now.
- 0:32Speaker 2: And I'm feeling good because I'm about to pick up
- 0:34Speaker 2: this phone and say good morning to Evie in Springfield.
- 0:37Speaker 3: So why are you feeling good this morning?
- 0:40Speaker 5: I started out feeling good because I got on the
- 0:43Speaker 5: road to go to work this morning, and I came
- 0:46Speaker 5: all the way out Old keen Mill Road to the
- 0:48Speaker 5: highway and didn't hit one single red light. I hit
- 0:52Speaker 5: a green light all the way to the highway.
- 0:55Speaker 4: That is beautiful commuting karma. The only thing that could
- 0:57Speaker 4: make that better is if you had zero problem finding
- 1:00Speaker 4: parking when you got to your destination.
- 1:02Speaker 6: Well, I'm one of the first ones here, so I
- 1:05Speaker 6: try to have the choice of my parking spot, which
- 1:08Speaker 6: is always a good thing.
- 1:09Speaker 2: And I need to know what you did to have
- 1:12Speaker 2: the traffic gods smile upon you, because sometimes they don't
- 1:17Speaker 2: smile upon me like they just did for you.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Every light green, that's amazing.
- 1:21Speaker 6: I'm pulling through the gate right now and I'm just
- 1:24Speaker 6: shaking my head and going, how did it happen?
- 1:27Speaker 3: DV? Thank you. Hopefully your luck continues through the day today.
- 1:30Speaker 6: All right, all right, you guys, take care and have
- 1:32Speaker 6: a wonderful day. I love listening to you every morning.

- 2:18Speaker 4: County has been charged with first degree murder in the
- 2:20Speaker 4: death of an eighty seven year old resident. Earlier this month,
- 2:24Speaker 4: twenty two year old Marquise James also was arrested for
- 2:27Speaker 4: firing shots at a state trooper during a traffic stop.
- 2:31Speaker 4: The section of natural gas pipeline that failed in Centerville
- 2:35Speaker 4: is being sent to a lab for analysis after air
- 2:38Speaker 4: pressure testing identified a plastic pipe as the source of
- 2:41Speaker 4: the leak. The gas leak triggered a house explosion and
- 2:45Speaker 4: forced dozens of evacuations. A viral video shows a DC
- 2:49Speaker 4: sanitation worker tossing two full trashmans into Bush's near a
- 2:53Speaker 4: home on K Street by Union Station, leaving garbage scattered
- 2:57Speaker 4: on the ground. DPW says it's investigating after a similar
- 3:00Speaker 4: incident was reported Monday.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Well.
- 3:03Speaker 4: The Washington Commanders and Jacksonville Jaguars are going to be
- 3:06Speaker 4: heading across the Pond this upcoming NFL season. The league
- 3:10Speaker 4: says the two teams will each be playing games in London.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Well new data shows that a lot of Americans believe
- 3:17Speaker 4: in legendary creatures, with aliens topping the list. About fifty

- 3:30Speaker 4: percent think the Yetti is real. Forecast today cloudy skies
- 3:34Speaker 4: with some isolated showers. Highs around forty eight right now,
- 3:37Speaker 4: thirty eight in Hyattsville.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And now you know and knowing is half the battle.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Top stories at the top of the hour. That's what
- 3:43Speaker 2: we call the news, and you've got it. With ninety
- 3:45Speaker 2: seven point one wash FM, Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 3:48Speaker 2: How are you doing? How's your head We're going to
- 3:50Speaker 2: check on it coming up in just a few minutes.
- 3:52Speaker 2: With your morning mindset, words that we hope might inspire
- 3:55Speaker 2: you to have a better day, could turn your morning around,
- 3:58Speaker 2: might even turn your week around, or it might just
- 4:00Speaker 2: give you a little extra to help you get into
- 4:02Speaker 2: the weekend.
- 4:03Speaker 3: That's on the way.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Stay with us time now for your morning mindset at
- 4:07Speaker 2: ninety seven point one wash FM with Toby and Chiley
- 4:10Speaker 2: in the Morning.
- 4:11Speaker 4: This is where we share a quote to get you
- 4:13Speaker 4: into a good headspace, something for you to think about.
- 4:16Speaker 2: The entrepreneur Richard Branson says, you don't learn to walk
- 4:20Speaker 2: by following rules. You learn by doing. You don't learn
- 4:25Speaker 2: to walk by following the rules you learn by doing.
- 4:28Speaker 2: You know, experience really is I think the ultimate school
- 4:33Speaker 2: in life. You know, you're not gonna figure things out
- 4:37Speaker 2: unless you step out and you try. And that means
- 4:41Speaker 2: trying things that may be foreign to you at first.
- 4:44Speaker 2: That means breaking the rules when it makes sense, I think,
- 4:47Speaker 2: so that you can figure out what was not a
- 4:50Speaker 2: good thing as you move forward. So, Sir Richard Branson says,
- 4:55Speaker 2: you don't learn to walk by following rules, you learn
- 4:58Speaker 2: by doing. Keep that in mind and let your experience
- 5:01Speaker 2: be what teaches you today. Hopefully that helped and if
- 5:05Speaker 2: it did, you'll find it on the Toby and chilipage
- 5:07Speaker 2: at washefm dot com, also on our Instagram so you
- 5:10Speaker 2: can send it to someone who might need it just
- 5:12Speaker 2: like you. And remember, if you've got something that's inspired you,
- 5:15Speaker 2: we always always want to hear what it is that's
- 5:17Speaker 2: making you find that little extra something, So share it
- 5:21Speaker 2: with us Toby and Chilipage waschfm dot com. Stay right,
- 5:25Speaker 2: there's coming up as we continue this Thursday morning excursion.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Hey, forget about complaining to the manager. The president of
- 5:32Speaker 4: Burger King has given out his cell phone number to
- 5:37Speaker 4: hear your feedback. Does it really work?
- 5:39Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Should we try?
- 5:41Speaker 2: When you have it your way? But how does that
- 5:44Speaker 2: song go your way? Have it your way? Well, I
- 5:47Speaker 2: guess we should.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Why not?
- 5:48Speaker 2: It's early and if he answers, well, we'll ask him
- 5:51Speaker 2: if we can have some breakfast. That's next? Stay with us,
- 5:55Speaker 2: will chili? You could call this good corporate responsibility? Well,
- 5:58Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's not easy up
- 6:00Speaker 2: in point one WATCHFM when a CEO gives out his
- 6:04Speaker 2: personal phone number and says, call me, what's your issues?
- 6:08Speaker 2: That to me screams responsible leadership.
- 6:11Speaker 4: In case you don't know what we're talking about, Burger
- 6:13Speaker 4: King's president has decided to give out his phone number
- 6:16Speaker 4: for any feedback that you have about the restaurant, good
- 6:19Speaker 4: or bad. This could be just a marketing gimmick, but
- 6:23Speaker 4: I am curious what the I guess outgoing message even says,
- 6:28Speaker 4: when you call this number, I.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Wonder if it goes at BKA. Have it your way?
- 6:33Speaker 3: Your role?
- 6:34Speaker 2: I wonder, Well you've got the number right? He did
- 6:36Speaker 2: give it to everybody he did handed me that number.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Let's call here you go.
- 6:40Speaker 8: Hey, Eric's Tom at Burger King. Really appreciate you calling
- 6:43Speaker 8: to share your thoughts on your BK experience or just
- 6:46Speaker 8: on BK in general. Your feedback is really important to me,
- 6:49Speaker 8: and we have tons of calls coming in right now,
- 6:51Speaker 8: which is awesome, but it also means that I can't
- 6:54Speaker 8: return every single call.
- 6:55Speaker 3: But I will tell you this, we.
- 6:56Speaker 8: Are looking at every single one, every single text, and
- 7:00Speaker 8: listening to every single voicemail.
- 7:01Speaker 3: So record your.
- 7:02Speaker 8: Message after the beef, or you can text me at
- 7:05Speaker 8: this number and we're going to get back to you
- 7:07Speaker 8: as soon as possible. Thanks again and have a great day.
- 7:09Speaker 4: By now, Hey Tom, listen, I was wondering, is there
- 7:13Speaker 4: any way that you can have the Cinny Minis on
- 7:16Speaker 4: your menu permanently and not have it be a seasonal dessert.
- 7:20Speaker 4: That would be amazing.
- 7:22Speaker 2: And by the way, I wanted you to know that
- 7:23Speaker 2: you're doing a great job with those onion rings and
- 7:25Speaker 2: the new burgers. What is that that bourbon barbecue Burger
- 7:29Speaker 2: Tasty had one just the other day.
- 7:31Speaker 4: And pairs well with the Cinny Mini.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Yes, that's true, and one of those frosted drinks that
- 7:35Speaker 2: you have. Do you think you could send over some food? Tom,
- 7:38Speaker 2: thank you for your time and for your attention to
- 7:40Speaker 2: this matter.
- 7:40Speaker 4: And if you'd like to give us a call back
- 7:42Speaker 4: eight six six nine two seven four three six one.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Thank you, Chillie.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Why don't you tell everybody the numbers so that they
- 7:49Speaker 2: can call Burger King two.
- 7:51Speaker 4: It's three oh five eight seven four zero five two zero.
- 7:56Speaker 2: If you call them up and you leave a message,
- 7:58Speaker 2: let them know that Toby and in the morning sent
- 8:01Speaker 2: you and that we say, Hi, hey, look good marketing.
- 8:04Speaker 3: I think it's.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Definitely good research because they're letting the customers help shape
- 8:08Speaker 4: the brand.
- 8:08Speaker 2: That's right, especially if you like Cinni Mini's much like Chili.
- 8:12Speaker 2: They need to be an all the time thing, not
- 8:14Speaker 2: just to some other time thing. So let it be written.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Give them a call, see what happens, and stay with
- 8:20Speaker 2: Toby and Chili in the morning, because next.
- 8:22Speaker 4: We're gonna update you with Toby and Chili's tap stories
- 8:25Speaker 4: in the news.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Tomorrow five in the afternoon. Sabrina Kanti, you must listen.
- 8:31Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one WATCHFM.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Here's why.
- 8:34Speaker 4: That's when we kick off our best of the eighties
- 8:36Speaker 4: and nineties weekend.
- 8:38Speaker 2: All you have to do is sit back, relax, listen,
- 8:40Speaker 2: and enjoy.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Ninety seven point one WASHFM, Washington, an iHeartRadio station.
- 8:47Speaker 7: Coming up on Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 8:49Speaker 4: The US is investigating after Cuba's coast Guard open fire
- 8:53Speaker 4: on a Florida registered speedboat, killing four. You've got the
- 8:57Speaker 4: latest on that story and others on the way with
- 9:00Speaker 4: Toby and Chile in the morning on ninety seven point
- 9:03Speaker 4: one wash FF.
- 9:06Speaker 7: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 9:08Speaker 4: The US has imposed new sanctions on Iran, targeting individuals, companies,
- 9:13Speaker 4: and also ships allegedly tied to illicit oil sales and
- 9:17Speaker 4: its missile program. This move comes as US officials prepare
- 9:21Speaker 4: for another round of nuclear talks with Iran in Switzerland.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the US is investigating
- 9:29Speaker 4: after Cuba's coast guard open fire on a Florida registered speedboat,
- 9:33Speaker 4: killing four and injuring six. The Cuban embassy, though claims
- 9:37Speaker 4: that the vessel fired first after entering Cuban waters. A
- 9:42Speaker 4: twenty two year old man has been arrested in connection
- 9:44Speaker 4: with the deadly shooting of eighty seven year old Robert Fuller,
- 9:48Speaker 4: junior at the cogar of Potomac's Senior Living facility in
- 9:52Speaker 4: Montgomery County February fourteenth. Marquise James, who worked at the facility,
- 9:57Speaker 4: is also under investigation for a allegedly shooting a state
- 10:01Speaker 4: trooper in Baltimore. A man hired as a professional home
- 10:05Speaker 4: organizer in Montgomery County has been arrested for allegedly stealing
- 10:08Speaker 4: over twenty five thousand dollars in cash and other items
- 10:12Speaker 4: from a client's home. So police are now asking anyone
- 10:15Speaker 4: else who may have hired Asa Brahim to come forward.
- 10:20Speaker 4: DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Washington Commanders are urging
- 10:24Speaker 4: local businesses to pursue contracts now for the planned RFK
- 10:28Speaker 4: Stadium project. They say the development will boost the economy
- 10:32Speaker 4: and serve as a year round destination beyond football. Meanwhile,
- 10:36Speaker 4: the Commanders are going to be traveling to London this
- 10:39Speaker 4: year to play, and Southwest Airlines finally giving passengers the
- 10:43Speaker 4: faster in flight Internet they've been asking for, announcing that
- 10:47Speaker 4: Starlink Wi Fi will begin rolling out this summer and
- 10:50Speaker 4: then we'll expand to more than three hundred planes by
- 10:53Speaker 4: the end of the year. Forecast cloudy with isolated showers today.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Highs around forty eight right now thirty in Arlington.
- 11:01Speaker 3: And there you go with the news.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly's top Stories ninety seven point one wash FM,
- 11:06Speaker 2: thanks for waking up with us. Chili's house has gone
- 11:09Speaker 2: to the birds, no pun intended. Remember a few weeks
- 11:12Speaker 2: ago she was telling us about this bird feeder camera
- 11:15Speaker 2: she got. There's something she would like to share with
- 11:20Speaker 2: the class, and I think it's going to create a
- 11:21Speaker 2: run on Amazon.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Well, I mean there was an unexpected benefit to it,
- 11:25Speaker 4: especially if you are a parent. I'll explain more coming up.
- 11:29Speaker 4: As Toby and Chili in the Morning continues, her home is.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Gone to the birds literally, no pun intended. Toby and
- 11:35Speaker 2: Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety seven point one washefm.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Previously on Toby and Chilly in the Morning, Chili shared
- 11:40Speaker 2: with us how she got this very cool bird feeder
- 11:43Speaker 2: that's motion activated and it starts rolling video much like
- 11:46Speaker 2: you know your ring doorknob camera or whatever on birds
- 11:49Speaker 2: as they fly to the feeder to consume the tasty
- 11:53Speaker 2: goodness of bird seed.
- 11:54Speaker 4: And they identify the different birds that come around, so
- 11:57Speaker 4: you get an alert on your tablet or device and
- 12:00Speaker 4: they take pictures and videos. And we got this initially
- 12:03Speaker 4: because our twelve year old wanted a bird as a pet,
- 12:07Speaker 4: and we're not doing that. That's too much maintenance. No parakeets, No,
- 12:11Speaker 4: I'm not doing that. This was like, you know what,
- 12:13Speaker 4: let them be out in the backyard, come visit us,
- 12:15Speaker 4: and we'll enjoy it. That way, a very unexpected benefit
- 12:20Speaker 4: has come about here. Okay, every day after school, my son,
- 12:24Speaker 4: like a lot of kids, I think, will decompress with
- 12:26Speaker 4: the tablet and he'll come home and he'll get on
- 12:29Speaker 4: his tablet and play some rollblocks. But ever since the
- 12:32Speaker 4: birds started visiting, and by the way, we're talking like
- 12:36Speaker 4: sixty visits a day.
- 12:37Speaker 3: That's a lot of birds. They know you've got the
- 12:38Speaker 3: food on the block.
- 12:39Speaker 4: And good food. Apparently, Well, he'll stop what he's doing
- 12:42Speaker 4: when he gets the little thing alert on his tablet
- 12:45Speaker 4: and switch to the camera and watch the video. And
- 12:49Speaker 4: then there's a little tab that you hit to read
- 12:51Speaker 4: what bird it is, and then he'll share it with us.
- 12:53Speaker 4: It has become an amazing educational distraction from him playing
- 12:58Speaker 4: slap battles.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Now your son will one day be an orentthologist. He
- 13:02Speaker 2: will study the birds.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Sure what this leads do? That's great?
- 13:07Speaker 3: Why not?
- 13:07Speaker 4: In the meantime, I'm learning the difference between a house sparrow,
- 13:11Speaker 4: a dark eyed junko, a Carolina wren, and a northern cardinal.
- 13:15Speaker 4: They're all coming by and feeding off our backyard, and
- 13:18Speaker 4: I'm telling you it has brought joy into our household
- 13:22Speaker 4: and a very welcome distraction.
- 13:24Speaker 2: You're very fired up about this. Yeah, you know, if
- 13:27Speaker 2: this radio thing doesn't work out, perhaps you can become
- 13:29Speaker 2: an ornithologist too.
- 13:31Speaker 4: I gotta go get a pair of good binoculars.
- 13:33Speaker 2: And everybody's gonna want to go to Amazon now and
- 13:35Speaker 2: get themselves this bird feeder. So if you want to
- 13:38Speaker 2: know more about it, Toby and chilipage WASHFM dot com
- 13:42Speaker 2: all of the birds, all of the time, much like
- 13:44Speaker 2: this show.
- 13:45Speaker 3: We're going to the birds now. Stay with Toby and
- 13:48Speaker 3: Chilly in the morning.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Because next, I don't know if you saw this on
- 13:51Speaker 4: Netflix yet, but it's called Famous Last Words and it's
- 13:55Speaker 4: an interview that Eric Dane did before he passed away,
- 13:59Speaker 4: And the whole concept behind this is pretty powerful, I think,
- 14:02Speaker 4: and I wanted to kind of see what your take
- 14:05Speaker 4: is on this.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Oh, mad some thoughts.
- 14:06Speaker 2: We'll get to those coming up with Toby and Chilly
- 14:09Speaker 2: in the Morning, Stay close. Netflix generates a lot of
- 14:13Speaker 2: buzz with everything that they do, and people are talking
- 14:16Speaker 2: about Netflix and famous last words today Toby and Chilly
- 14:20Speaker 2: in the Morning. It's ninety seven point one was chef
- 14:22Speaker 2: And the reason why is because of what Eric Dane
- 14:26Speaker 2: had to say as he set down to film this
- 14:31Speaker 2: show recently.
- 14:32Speaker 4: So the premise behind this is Eric Dane, who recently
- 14:35Speaker 4: passed away from a battle with als. He is in
- 14:38Speaker 4: a room with a producer and at the beginning of
- 14:40Speaker 4: this interview he is well aware that this will only
- 14:43Speaker 4: become public after he passes, and the hour long interview
- 14:49Speaker 4: talks about his life and any regrets and what he's
- 14:52Speaker 4: most proud of, and then in the very last few minutes,
- 14:55Speaker 4: the producer leaves Eric is alone and speaks directly to
- 14:59Speaker 4: the camera. Has a message for his daughters.
- 15:02Speaker 9: Remain saying, I have to live now. Fallen, fall in
- 15:07Speaker 9: love with something, find your passion, your joy, find the thing,
- 15:12Speaker 9: and make sure I want to get up one.
- 15:14Speaker 3: And that's Eric Dane's message to his two daughters.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Yeah, and a lot of people on social media were
- 15:19Speaker 4: sort of sharing that speech that he had for them.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Did you buy any chance, get a chance to watch
- 15:24Speaker 4: the conversation?
- 15:25Speaker 3: I tried. Then I realized, I'm afraid to watch it.
- 15:28Speaker 4: You're afraid why?
- 15:29Speaker 2: It's pretty close to home. This is a guy that's
- 15:31Speaker 2: not too much older than me. I felt like if
- 15:33Speaker 2: I watched it that I'd be looking kind of in
- 15:35Speaker 2: the mirror, because I wonder at times with my own
- 15:38Speaker 2: health stuff, have I said enough? Is there something else
- 15:41Speaker 2: I need to say to my daughter? The reflection and
- 15:43Speaker 2: then knowing I would be facing that reflection totally made
- 15:46Speaker 2: me run for the hills. How did you feel watching this?
- 15:49Speaker 4: I definitely get where you're sort of having to face
- 15:52Speaker 4: your own mortality, But I also looked at it through
- 15:54Speaker 4: the lens of how much comfort and closure it could
- 15:56Speaker 4: bring to people in my life after I'm gone. Of course,
- 16:00Speaker 4: I love to tell all these things in person, but
- 16:03Speaker 4: it's like that one final goodbye that I think a
- 16:06Speaker 4: lot of people need after they lose someone.
- 16:08Speaker 6: You know.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I hope that I can overcome this fear that I've
- 16:11Speaker 2: got Chile and have a conversation a very similar conversation
- 16:15Speaker 2: with my daughter, and hopefully it won't be under the
- 16:17Speaker 2: same circumstances Eric Dane found himself in when he recorded
- 16:21Speaker 2: that message to his kids. Just really hits hard. It's
- 16:25Speaker 2: on Netflix right now, Famous last words. Tell us what
- 16:27Speaker 2: you think eight six six ninet two, seven forty three
- 16:30Speaker 2: sixty one. You can also leave a talk back message
- 16:32Speaker 2: if you want to. And coming up with Toby and
