  It was like 8 days and it was really nice to see family and

  about me, but I sleep with my doggies and they are like really

  cute and fluffy weighted blankets that are also heated.

  And so it's really nice. And I didn't get to sleep with

  them. And I was on this little twin

  bed that I almost fell off of a couple of times and it was

  rough, but it was good. The weather was great.

  It was like a nice 80° and everybody was complaining.

  Oh my God, it's so hot. And it was hot.

  Come to the South where it's 95° at 8:00 in the morning.

  I saw two shows we saw. We saw Masquerade, which is the

  Webber, which was awesome, and then I saw Cats, the Jellicle

  And it was so good. It was so it was so.

  I think it's the best show I've seen on Broadway, like hands

  down. And I've seen several.

  It was an Andrew Lloyd Webber week, but it was great.

  Spider Man turn off the dark like I did on Broadway and.

  So the Jellicle Ball is a revival of Andrew Lloyd's Weber

  musical Cats. So like I know cats from eon

  eons ago memory and it reimagines the cats as human

  contestants in New York City's underground ballroom culture.

  So it's like really focusing on the Black and Latino queer

  ballroom traditions and like the characters are competing in
• 3:34
  categories and there's like they, they have like guest
• 3:41
  celebrity judges. And so they'll go up on the
• 3:45
  stage and they will actually judge.

  And it's so good. It's so good.

  And like typically on Broadway shows, as you know, because you

  I wish I could see it again, but it ends on August 8th and I'm

  people who are doing masquerade, the Phantom of the Opera

  experience are actually trying to save it.

  In Ballroom and it's and what's interesting is it is because the

  whole thing is like cats are just like you and me.

  And so there was a lot of moments where they're not really

  changing a lot of the original soundtrack, but it's so it's so

  relevant to queer culture and how like the struggles, like

  even seeing even seeing Andre De Shields and he plays Old

  Deuteronomy, he like someone who is a legend in ballroom who has
• 6:42
  like lived through the 80s and, you know, 90s and things got
• 6:46
  better and now they're getting worse.

  The. Hard shit, yeah.

  The hard, hard, hard shit to see a a packed a packed Broadway
• 6:55
  show where everybody is literally clacking their fans

  and screaming. And just like all of these

  there was a couple of acts where, you know, the, the older

  folks were like talking about how they once were as like young

  cats and there was a younger person like doing the same

  movements and the way the lights were.

  I mean, it was really good show. It was a really good show.

  And then to add niceness to it, we were online and Phil already

  clocked the the gay liberties, as he said.

  And it was the guy who played Aaron Samuels in Mean Girls.

  Oh, Jonathan Bennett. He was there with his boyfriend

  and his boyfriend complimented Phil's shirt and he was, yes,

  So Fame of the Opera was one of the longest running shows on

  Broadway. Yeah, I remember it.

  Just like just stopped. Recently, and that was the first

  Broadway show that I had seen and I had I saw it like twice or

  three times because we're we we love a Broadway me and Phil, we

  love a Broadway we've seen fan of the opera.

  I saw rent right before it went off of Broadway which.

  Was why'd they think they just didn't have to pay rent?

  I've seen a whole bunch of Broadway shows.

  And so we, he got tickets for my birthday because he and his

  husband Eddie went to go see it and they loved it.

  And so with Masquerade, it's, it's not on Broadway, it's off

  Broadway. But instead of you just sitting

  down and like watching people, it's interactive.

  So you're moving through rooms as the scenes are going on.

  It, it was, it was really, really good.

  And then like people are talking to you, like the actors are

  actually talking to you. So like Madame Giri like talked

  to us in the first room, like, I mean, and the rooms are really

  like beautiful and like well done.

  Like the first room that you enter in, there's a live

  violinist playing basically like a instrumental version of the

  whole soundtrack. And on the ceilings there's

  these tutus and like it. I mean, really, really, really

  beautiful. You walk into the next room

  after he's playing or whatever every There's also a dress code

  so it's black, white or silver and you have to wear a

  masquerade mask and it is worth it.
