- 0:28Speaker 4: Frank that comes comes, it comes to look is.
- 0:33Speaker 5: It just coming?
- 0:38Speaker 1: I'm a doer. Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way
- 0:40Speaker 1: you made Bill Vegan. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. I be listening
- 0:48Speaker 1: to the Sports Shock Show. I am the Sports Shock
- 0:51Speaker 1: Wayne Candy. Good morning to you out there and listening Lain.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Happy belated Father's Day to all the fathers out there,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and happy belated Dad's Day for all the dad's out there.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Now'm fellows. Some of y'all are just fathers. I can't
- 1:14Speaker 1: tell you which one, but you gotta look in the mirror.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Some of y'all just fathers. All of y'all are not dads.
- 1:25Speaker 1: You know, figure that out while you're in your cheerios
- 1:28Speaker 1: this morning. Some of y'all just father I had a father,
- 1:38Speaker 1: not a dad. Fathers. You just brought them here. Dad,
- 1:45Speaker 1: you've decided to actually put the work in and raise them.
- 1:50Speaker 6: But Greg, this is a sports show. It's too it's
- 1:54Speaker 6: too I don't want to get the people.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I don't want to get too deep. Yeah, well it's
- 2:00Speaker 1: you father a kid. You can father a kid by
- 2:04Speaker 1: going to a clinic. But why they get a day though,
- 2:10Speaker 1: because the mother's got a day. And holidays are way
- 2:14Speaker 1: too bolden the economic stability of the United States of America.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It helps the world. So if you realize they're on
- 2:24Speaker 1: a revolution to try to put at least two holidays
- 2:27Speaker 1: in every month, you should just be one. And now
- 2:33Speaker 1: once you see, they're finding we reasons and ways. Because
- 2:38Speaker 1: holidays push economic growth for a couple of days, more
- 2:45Speaker 1: people are more likely to travel, shop, celebrate. Celebrate pushes
- 2:51Speaker 1: up all kinds of things. That means gas, that means flights,
- 2:55Speaker 1: that means alcohol, food. So when you start off, you
- 2:58Speaker 1: start off with New Years, I give you two weeks
- 3:01Speaker 1: to catch your breath. You go in the King Holiday,
- 3:04Speaker 1: I give you two weeks to catch your breath. I'll
- 3:06Speaker 1: take you to Valentine's Day. I give you about seven days,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and then I take you into President's Day and I
- 3:11Speaker 1: give you about two more weeks, and I take you
- 3:13Speaker 1: into St. Patrick's Day, and then I give you two
- 3:15Speaker 1: more weeks. I take you in the easter. Did we
- 3:18Speaker 1: miss Columbus Day? You, I just run you into No,
- 3:22Speaker 1: I'm talking about federal days. October. I run you into
- 3:28Speaker 1: Memorial Day, Mother's Day. I run you into Father's Day
- 3:33Speaker 1: in June tenth teenth, excuse me. Then I take you
- 3:37Speaker 1: to in two weeks. So we just got off. We
- 3:40Speaker 1: had June tenth and then we had Father's Day. Two weeks.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna take you into the fourth of July. Right
- 3:46Speaker 1: after that. August does not have a holiday, but we
- 3:51Speaker 1: go back to school, right right, right, you gotta.
- 3:55Speaker 6: Be tax free holidays, right school, tax wake free weeks.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Wake up. But that's not every state, okay, you all right,
- 4:13Speaker 1: some people run across the state line. Every state don't
- 4:16Speaker 1: have it true, true fast, but August almost colleges go
- 4:22Speaker 1: back to school in August across the country, and about
- 4:26Speaker 1: half the country go back to school in August as
- 4:30Speaker 1: far as uh elementary in high school, that's correct, correct, Okay.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Then I take you into Labor Day right off the
- 4:39Speaker 1: hills of shopping for that dorm. I give you two
- 4:45Speaker 1: weeks and I take you into labor and then I
- 4:47Speaker 1: gotta go get them. I got to go get them.
- 4:50Speaker 7: For the little Labor Day turn off, and so let
- 4:53Speaker 7: you off with all the stuff that we bought for
- 4:55Speaker 7: the dorm because I'm.
- 4:56Speaker 6: Going through it right now. And I dropped you um
- 4:58Speaker 6: off with dorms full of stuff. And then about a
- 5:01Speaker 6: half a week later, everybody's on. I'll be ready.
- 5:06Speaker 7: At three o'clock on Thursday, and I'm like to come back.
- 5:11Speaker 1: You was just here.
- 5:12Speaker 6: And then Labor's Day is you don't want to as
- 5:15Speaker 6: the last big cook out of the year.
- 5:17Speaker 1: So I got Labor Day and then I have Halloween.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I'm quite sure I'm missing something.
- 5:24Speaker 8: Slow down, Uh well, Columbus Day.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Because we got to buy tiles or for some of
- 5:33Speaker 1: you who have decided to rename it to Indigenous Day.
- 5:37Speaker 7: Or Indigenous People's Day because we had to double up
- 5:41Speaker 7: on the hustle.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I'm saying now, I'm just saying that we just gonna
- 5:44Speaker 1: be happy to be.
- 5:45Speaker 8: From you gotta have you gotta have the opposite because
- 5:49Speaker 8: of what we found out about Christopher Columbus. So now
- 5:52Speaker 8: you gotta flip it.
- 5:53Speaker 1: You still want to be a holiday else you want
- 5:57Speaker 1: to get that, But then you quick to put up
- 5:59Speaker 1: some picture of standing in front of the pyramids, and
- 6:03Speaker 1: I could have sworn the Pyramids was built on the
- 6:06Speaker 1: backs of slavery. That ain't American. Excuse me, that ain't American.
- 6:12Speaker 1: And Cliff Chrystopher Columbus one American either. But he discovered
- 6:16Speaker 1: even though he really so people, I don't even even
- 6:20Speaker 1: he didn't even stay here. Yeah, he left and went back.
- 6:24Speaker 1: He discovered it. He he just went back to get
- 6:26Speaker 1: his check. Yeah, he signed, he had signed the report.
- 6:30Speaker 1: What he got to is what we know is well,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I'm saying I got here. You told me to go
- 6:35Speaker 1: right across all this water to find something, made me
- 6:38Speaker 1: ceo of this little journey. I went back to get
- 6:41Speaker 1: my check.
- 6:42Speaker 7: Because I found something. I left them people in charge
- 6:45Speaker 7: like you told me to. I signed the report. He
- 6:47Speaker 7: go to stamp and you said I was gonna get
- 6:50Speaker 7: fifty three million shekels.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I come to get my shekels. I'm here for my shekels.
- 6:55Speaker 9: Right.
- 6:55Speaker 1: So the holidays are here, yeah yeah, and then you
- 6:58Speaker 1: throw in Thanksgiving, Halloween, Monica, Christmas and whatever else is
- 7:04Speaker 1: in there. So but we're trying to get to two a.
- 7:07Speaker 7: Month because because Halloween, we we got to have a
- 7:10Speaker 7: sluty nine.
- 7:11Speaker 1: That's just every every Halloween we need.
- 7:13Speaker 6: And there was a report that Mother's Day is the
- 7:16Speaker 6: second biggest holiday to Christmas.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Is it?
- 7:21Speaker 6: Yeah, there's a report and Father's Day is twentieth On
- 7:24Speaker 6: that listen, Albert Aubury arbors something tree day is more
- 7:28Speaker 6: important than day. Mm hmmm, I think that's funny. Why no,
- 7:36Speaker 6: it's just there's all there's a couple of holidays that
- 7:39Speaker 6: was more important than Father's Day.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So is it is? It is Father's Day just not
- 7:44Speaker 1: important because fathers don't demand, We don't seem to have
- 7:47Speaker 1: a demand. Most of us just want a peaceful day.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Facts more than they we want a celebrated day. Most fathers,
- 7:56Speaker 1: if you bom into, just want a day where today
- 7:59Speaker 1: I can get my golf clubs without having to give
- 8:02Speaker 1: you any And you leave me alost excuse you leave
- 8:05Speaker 1: me the hell alone. That's what it is.
- 8:07Speaker 6: By the day, What all day?
- 8:10Speaker 1: How you doing daddy? Why typically you're not sitting there
- 8:14Speaker 1: waiting on a gift or you need the meal to
- 8:17Speaker 1: be one thousand dollars or something like that. How you
- 8:21Speaker 1: feel today, daddy? Why what you need? What you want?
- 8:24Speaker 1: I was just happy you can get his favorite thing.
- 8:28Speaker 1: He likes Popeye's Chicken or something Popeye, bring him some
- 8:32Speaker 1: of that exhaust, you know, a driving whatever restaurant he likes,
- 8:36Speaker 1: and bring him. You don't have to take it, you
- 8:38Speaker 1: only have to take him to it. To it. You
- 8:40Speaker 1: could just bring it to Hicco.
- 8:42Speaker 7: Your favorite triple cheese burger, no fries, no soda, just
- 8:46Speaker 7: the triple cheeseburger, daddy, and he be on some boy
- 8:50Speaker 7: he had sold out.
- 8:51Speaker 1: So I think that is something of why we don't
- 8:53Speaker 1: have a We don't have a real demanding spirit about
- 8:57Speaker 1: the celebration now as our or parts they have a
- 9:02Speaker 1: demanding spirit about it's like a full day. They expect
- 9:05Speaker 1: that you're supposed to be engaged with them at least
- 9:10Speaker 1: nineteen or the twenty four hours of that day, like
- 9:14Speaker 1: for Mother's Day and Mother's Day. So it's not it's actual.
- 9:18Speaker 1: We got to go have an adventure and we got
- 9:21Speaker 1: to just have a time where we're just walking and
- 9:23Speaker 1: then we got to get some desserve. That's not how
- 9:25Speaker 1: we functional.
- 9:26Speaker 7: And and and for disclosure, this past Mother's Day, I
- 9:30Speaker 7: had to have a conversation with my wife like you
- 9:32Speaker 7: ain't my mama.
- 9:36Speaker 1: I'm saying, no, we celebrating mothers And I get it.
- 9:39Speaker 7: You you raising the we we But as you're saying,
- 9:44Speaker 7: that's on the kids. Now, I coordinate with the children
- 9:48Speaker 7: and I'll encourage them. Look now Mother's Day coming up.
- 9:51Speaker 7: Your mama solid. Your mama's solid individual. If I was you,
- 9:57Speaker 7: I would because I'm showing my mama love.
- 9:59Speaker 1: The The mother wants everybody that knows she is a
- 10:06Speaker 1: mother to celebrate her, to give her something. Yes, oh yeah,
- 10:09Speaker 1: that's a flat yes. The mother feels like Big Kenny
- 10:13Speaker 1: is saying he should be he's not her kid, But
- 10:22Speaker 1: she's really looking for the biggest gift and the biggest
- 10:24Speaker 1: celebration of her to come from him.
- 10:29Speaker 7: And my mama only gave birth to me. But everybody
- 10:35Speaker 7: line up in the procession line and gives her something.
- 10:39Speaker 1: But welcome to summer. We are in summer as of yesterday,
- 10:43Speaker 1: which was the longest day of sun from what I
- 10:48Speaker 1: read that you have in the year. I think the
- 10:52Speaker 1: report said fourteen hours of son, which yesterday, So they
- 10:55Speaker 1: squeezed a lot into yesterday's That was a big day
- 10:59Speaker 1: with Father's Day and Dad's Day. As I said it,
- 11:04Speaker 1: uh the NBA draft we uh. I'll let y'all educate
- 11:08Speaker 1: me on that. As the show goes because I don't
- 11:10Speaker 1: know anyone in the draft. And it's been that way
- 11:13Speaker 1: for a while, this whole one and done, because typically
- 11:17Speaker 1: it was year two that you learned to tune in
- 11:21Speaker 1: to the kid from Wichitass State because that first year
- 11:25Speaker 1: he missed it.
- 11:26Speaker 7: And then it is Wichitas State got on the radar
- 11:29Speaker 7: because of that first year, and then the next year
- 11:31Speaker 7: we started watching.
- 11:32Speaker 1: And then Mark Making was at Temple right Mark shaking, Bacon,
- 11:37Speaker 1: Mark making.
- 11:38Speaker 7: And by the middle of that second year, you be thinking,
- 11:40Speaker 7: we ain't gonna have a chance to see him at
- 11:42Speaker 7: Temple next year.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Had never seen a Temple game right to leave like
- 11:46Speaker 1: some schools, You didn't.
- 11:47Speaker 3: You didn't.
- 11:47Speaker 1: You wasn't watching Gonzaga. Wait now in eighty two, Wait now,
- 11:52Speaker 1: wait now, what about Stockton was there?
- 11:55Speaker 8: But we didn't know about it until after Stockton retired.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Didn't know where that Wi Gonzaga was when he was
- 12:02Speaker 1: in the Hall of Fame. You still don't know where is,
- 12:07Speaker 1: don't know what that's at, don't know we Belmont, We'll
- 12:09Speaker 1: be back talk about Brandon Marshall. The world couped much
- 12:15Speaker 1: more the NBA Draft as well more the Sports Jock Show.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Right after this.
- 12:34Speaker 10: Jon't Bowl. Wayne Board of the Sports Jock Show with

- 15:02Speaker 4: Year where we highlight an accolade that has taken their
- 15:05Speaker 4: game to the next level.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Face Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the
- 15:35Speaker 1: Sports Shock Wayne and the Gan team. We're doing a
- 15:38Speaker 1: little battle here.
- 15:39Speaker 6: Uh we're not back.
- 15:42Speaker 1: What's going on now? It's great out with the beat.
- 15:44Speaker 6: Didn't come here like he's looking like, oh no, that
- 15:48Speaker 6: that's that Joonas anticipation.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yeah he would, He's right, he wasn't ready for you
- 15:55Speaker 1: play some mind? Tell me what would it be? And
- 15:59Speaker 1: we're doing a little Earth Winning Fire versus Jodasy battle
- 16:03Speaker 1: here today. Greg exentp a list of the fifty top
- 16:08Speaker 1: R and B groups. Some of them are, you know.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I've got the billboard the billboard and they had Earth
- 16:16Speaker 1: Winning Fire at one and I went through the list.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I think Jodasy was maybe about sixteen. No, they were
- 16:26Speaker 1: were they They're like twenty seven, twenty seven and I
- 16:29Speaker 1: was in the top fifty. I just disagreed with that.
- 16:31Speaker 1: They hire you think higher. Yes, Remember music is a
- 16:39Speaker 1: personal a person. So for me, I don't. I'm more
- 16:42Speaker 1: likely to turn on Earth Winning Fire and Jodicy than
- 16:45Speaker 1: I am Earth Winning Fire and the Temptations, Right, okay.
- 16:51Speaker 8: And there towards artists from this sixties and the sixties
- 16:56Speaker 8: and seventies, right right for me. Now tell a person
- 17:00Speaker 8: that maybe seventy.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Five, Why are you pointed me when you said seventy five?
- 17:05Speaker 1: We're like that.
- 17:05Speaker 7: I mean, you got your whole arm out with all fingers,
- 17:09Speaker 7: like pointed directly at me. Where was I can't tell
- 17:12Speaker 7: perus seventy five? I'm not seventy five, sir seventy five?
- 17:17Speaker 1: Where was new addition on the list? We'll grab into
- 17:21Speaker 1: the lists a little later. I was just letting you
- 17:23Speaker 1: know that's why I picked Jodasy because they were just
- 17:26Speaker 1: too far away. I'm not telling you their number one,
- 17:30Speaker 1: but you but they're not number twenty seven.
- 17:32Speaker 6: Yeah, they're in the top twenty. You're telling me there's
- 17:34Speaker 6: twenty five other groups?
- 17:35Speaker 1: Where was? Where was boys? Men?
- 17:37Speaker 8: And they had those differents in there in the top
- 17:40Speaker 8: to nine.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Now, see, I had a debate.
- 17:43Speaker 7: Someone was asking me boys to men or Jodasy and
- 17:46Speaker 7: I said to me, that's apples to oranges, because boys
- 17:49Speaker 7: to men was a lot of romance, a lot of
- 17:53Speaker 7: I've made my choice, you are the one, and Jodasy
- 17:57Speaker 7: was stop playing.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I'm here till about nine thirty am.
- 18:02Speaker 7: And you know what it is. You know what I'm saying.
- 18:04Speaker 7: I'm saying that we gonna get it done. We're on
- 18:06Speaker 7: a time limit, so let's get to work. And that
- 18:09Speaker 7: was the difference to me, and they both did it well.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Speaking of time limits, Serena Williams has decided that not
- 18:18Speaker 1: only she's gonna double up so she must be feeling
- 18:21Speaker 1: real good for Wimbledon with her sister Venus, she's also
- 18:26Speaker 1: going to go and play on the single side at
- 18:31Speaker 1: forty four years old, arguably, And just like in anything,
- 18:38Speaker 1: you kind of have to go with what you've seen
- 18:41Speaker 1: more of your era, as they say, and that don't
- 18:44Speaker 1: mean you don't overlap, but the impact that somebody might
- 18:47Speaker 1: have had on you when you were more open to
- 18:49Speaker 1: be influenced about something. So you could be a Billy
- 18:53Speaker 1: Jeanie King, or you could be a Martina Navatlow, Chris
- 18:56Speaker 1: Everetts stepfree golf. Any of those players were a lot
- 19:01Speaker 1: of people. In today's world of tennis. They've crowned Serena
- 19:06Speaker 1: to be and it's not always you know, I think
- 19:08Speaker 1: sometimes yes, championships can dictate it, but global impact the
- 19:14Speaker 1: pressure of the situation because sometimes the road to the
- 19:18Speaker 1: championship is easier than other times based on opponents. As
- 19:24Speaker 1: you go up, some of the people that you might
- 19:25Speaker 1: have played might have got knocked off in this tournament.
- 19:30Speaker 1: You don't always get that head to head in things.
- 19:33Speaker 1: It's not always number one versus number two kind of situation.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Right because number twenty five had decided this tournament, y'all
- 19:41Speaker 1: gonna learn about number twenty five.
- 19:44Speaker 10: Now.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I ain't gonna ever be in again but today, but
- 19:47Speaker 1: this tournament for two weeks twenty twenty six, I'm about
- 19:50Speaker 1: to be.
- 19:50Speaker 7: They gonna talk about twenty twenty six for a minute,
- 19:52Speaker 7: Yes they will.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Uh so, Serena. You guys happy to see Serena bag
- 19:57Speaker 1: Is this what tennis need? Or is this just the
- 20:01Speaker 1: nostalgia Greg is just just one of those nostalgia things
- 20:05Speaker 1: that we like, the spectacle that we love here in
- 20:09Speaker 1: twenty twenty six.
- 20:10Speaker 8: I think it's nostalgia because I think it's a similar
- 20:14Speaker 8: situation that I think the NBA is in.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Where with the face.
- 20:20Speaker 8: Of the sport, even though we could all agree that,
- 20:27Speaker 8: you know, Victor with Minyama probably can be the face
- 20:30Speaker 8: of the sport, even though he's not not American, but
- 20:34Speaker 8: he's eventually be the face of the sport. But I
- 20:37Speaker 8: think the NBA is still hanging on to Lebron in
- 20:39Speaker 8: a way. I think in tennis there's still like Serena
- 20:47Speaker 8: is still like the biggest name. Just like in golf,
- 20:51Speaker 8: Tiger is still the biggest name. Even though they are
- 20:55Speaker 8: past their prime and they're not it's good to see
- 20:59Speaker 8: them out there belt where you can't expect them to
- 21:01Speaker 8: win anything.
- 21:03Speaker 1: That's that's asking too much at this point.
- 21:05Speaker 8: So I think Serena coming back well, I think primarily
- 21:09Speaker 8: because she just wants to play and go out on
- 21:12Speaker 8: her own terms. But I think there's not that next name.
- 21:17Speaker 8: We know some names, but there's not that next name
- 21:20Speaker 8: that can.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Line and in this interim time bad producer in this
- 21:23Speaker 1: in this like four year window, none of those names really.
- 21:28Speaker 6: Took because they basically they I need a mental date,
- 21:32Speaker 6: you know, you A lot of the ones they expected
- 21:34Speaker 6: to step up, they have been needing these they're not
- 21:38Speaker 6: ready to step up there. They they've shown that and
- 21:41Speaker 6: last week when out, it was like when we saw
- 21:43Speaker 6: that Serena was playing in the doubles, then I was like, man,
- 21:46Speaker 6: she's not playing with the sisters. But then you think
- 21:47Speaker 6: about it, they secretly they could have been working out
- 21:50Speaker 6: and just trying to get to that point to get ready.
- 21:53Speaker 6: But as you said, the names that the Coco golfs
- 21:57Speaker 6: and the other ones, they just hadn't up yet. They
- 22:01Speaker 6: just hadn't want to embrace that opportunity. They look for
- 22:04Speaker 6: more of a way to get their social What did
- 22:09Speaker 6: I call it last week? I said, to find out?
- 22:10Speaker 6: Just did you get that?
- 22:11Speaker 14: Now?
- 22:11Speaker 6: Your social commerce up more than their accolades. As far
- 22:16Speaker 6: as playing the tennis.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Kenny, is it a disservice when we come back from
- 22:21Speaker 1: break hold this thought? Is it a disservice to try
- 22:24Speaker 1: to get gen Z to hold to their principles of winning?
- 22:33Speaker 1: At this time, winning doesn't matter? Okay?
- 22:37Speaker 7: Did you see what I wrote down here? Because I
- 22:39Speaker 7: wrote my thought down so that I wouldn't lose it.
- 22:42Speaker 7: And that's that segue. There is pretty much the direction
- 22:46Speaker 7: I wanted to go.
- 22:47Speaker 1: So yeah, we'll be back more of Serena Williams coming
- 22:49Speaker 1: back for this year's Wimbledon at least on the singles
- 22:53Speaker 1: and double side of This Coin, or the Sports Shock

- 25:28Speaker 3: In the Rainzo you're.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Hate number, Welcome back to this What shock shall I'm
- 26:06Speaker 1: this what shock wing Candy, Good morning to you out
- 26:09Speaker 1: there and listening land. We were talking about the great
- 26:14Speaker 1: Serena Williams coming back. She announced about a week ago
- 26:19Speaker 1: that her and her sister Venus would have a wild
- 26:23Speaker 1: card place with Wimbledon this year, and a couple of
- 26:29Speaker 1: days ago she announced she will also do it on
- 26:33Speaker 1: the single side. At forty four years old, hasn't actually
- 26:38Speaker 1: been on the circuit and four years, I want to say,
- 26:41Speaker 1: has been about the time she's been out dominant. No
- 26:48Speaker 1: real argument about the serve, even the great ones they
- 26:55Speaker 1: might be based women serve. Ever, we saw that in
- 26:58Speaker 1: her last four or five years when she got a
- 27:01Speaker 1: little weight on her age was catching on her. But
- 27:04Speaker 1: she knew one thing, When I serve, it's my point.
- 27:08Speaker 1: So uh, and that's how she was kind of staying around.
- 27:12Speaker 1: When it's my serve. If you don't break my serve,
- 27:14Speaker 1: you're gonna lose. And what a weapon to have, and
- 27:18Speaker 1: I think that's part of why she can steal maybe
- 27:21Speaker 1: make some noise here for a couple of rounds. She
- 27:25Speaker 1: won't know until that constant plane gets on her. Because
- 27:30Speaker 1: that's that is the key with the athlete. It's being
- 27:34Speaker 1: able to regenerate, find that not just physical but emotional
- 27:43Speaker 1: energy to actually do it again. I did it Monday.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Now they saying I got another match Wednesday, and then
- 27:49Speaker 1: I got another match Saturday. So how can is it
- 27:52Speaker 1: still there? And that's the hard part, trying to get
- 27:55Speaker 1: it up. I tell people you're one, You're like a
- 28:01Speaker 1: rabbit on ten hour energy.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yeah. By year twelve, you're standing in the tunnel praying God,
- 28:09Speaker 1: please come down, let me get into this. You know,
- 28:13Speaker 1: you're hoping there's some kind of you know, somebody said
- 28:16Speaker 1: something from the other team, or when the smoke the
- 28:18Speaker 1: PA announcer says your name, you get that back, because.
- 28:23Speaker 7: Are you all ready to have a good time? Please
- 28:25Speaker 7: don't be ready to have it. Please don't be ready
- 28:28Speaker 7: to have a good time. So I'm so ready to
- 28:30Speaker 7: get home.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Mc kenny listening to the bad producer and command you
- 28:34Speaker 1: Greg in that last segment, it just led me to
- 28:37Speaker 1: ask you because we do we do hold gen Z
- 28:43Speaker 1: to provide something that we as a society don't try
- 28:51Speaker 1: to cultivate. We want a certain competitive, certain dogmatic mentality
- 28:58Speaker 1: to be there. But that's something that has to for
- 29:01Speaker 1: most athletes be cultivated. I think it's one of those
- 29:06Speaker 1: parts that we kind of thought that I always, oh,
- 29:09Speaker 1: they'll get it. No, some dogmatic attitudes, personalities are developed
- 29:20Speaker 1: and not just that's how they see it. So when
- 29:23Speaker 1: we look at a cocoa golf, we look at a
- 29:25Speaker 1: name Osaka, we look at what's what's the top lady
- 29:31Speaker 1: in the world around us? Cybolenka, Babyka. When you watch them,
- 29:38Speaker 1: you see that equally because they're the generation of the
- 29:44Speaker 1: computer of AI, right, they spend equally amount of time
- 29:49Speaker 1: trying to exist in that world and become stars in
- 29:53Speaker 1: that world as they do on the tennis court.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Ah.
- 29:58Speaker 7: And this is the thing we were talking about Serena
- 30:01Speaker 7: coming back and everybody being excited about that. I was
- 30:03Speaker 7: wondering if Serena was benefiting from a great deal of
- 30:06Speaker 7: legacy because I don't really remember those who supported her
- 30:10Speaker 7: in her rise to the mount rushmore of sports asking
- 30:15Speaker 7: for this. We were one hundred percent okay with tennis
- 30:19Speaker 7: being where it is now. But I think that during
- 30:23Speaker 7: this time Wimbledon because it is twenty four hour news cycle.
- 30:28Speaker 7: Not only does she benefit from legacy, but the media
- 30:31Speaker 7: is comfortable with that rhythm. I ask you a question,
- 30:36Speaker 7: you answer that question. You have a hard match. I
- 30:40Speaker 7: can catch you before you walk into the tunnel and
- 30:43Speaker 7: ask you a question, and you're going to answer that professionally.
- 30:46Speaker 7: You ain't telling me how I'm all up in your
- 30:48Speaker 7: space and how you need time and none of the
- 30:51Speaker 7: what these winning athletes, we're not talking about their athletic ability.
- 30:59Speaker 1: None of what they are doing.
- 31:03Speaker 7: Is ever going to make it possible for us to
- 31:06Speaker 7: get the story by just describing it. We need somebody
- 31:09Speaker 7: to talk to so they win. We never taught them
- 31:12Speaker 7: they had to go to the Remember when they used
- 31:14Speaker 7: to come to the podium and the Iverson's and people
- 31:17Speaker 7: like that will go, man, y'all tripping and get up
- 31:19Speaker 7: and walk away, and we champion that. Y'all ain't got
- 31:21Speaker 7: to listen to them, folks. I'm just here so I
- 31:23Speaker 7: won't be fine.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Boss. That dude need more endorsements.
- 31:26Speaker 7: And now everybody on that look, Brah, I ain't really
- 31:29Speaker 7: want to say nothing, y'all all in my space. I
- 31:32Speaker 7: got other stuff to do now, they want somebody that, Well,
- 31:35Speaker 7: who do we talk to now and we bring Serena back.
- 31:38Speaker 7: We can't say she ain't had it. We don't know
- 31:40Speaker 7: if she still got it. But it's willing. We're willing
- 31:43Speaker 7: to let her show us. How deep does she need
- 31:46Speaker 7: to go?
- 31:47Speaker 1: Ah man to how to say a success for someone
- 31:51Speaker 1: who knows, for someone who knows what it takes to
- 31:56Speaker 1: come back.
- 31:56Speaker 7: Just the fact that she get out there and finish
- 31:58Speaker 7: a match for me would be commendable. But for her
- 32:02Speaker 7: to go deep, uh sometimes may give folks that are
- 32:05Speaker 7: Serena back. And I don't think she's back for permanently.
- 32:09Speaker 7: She might have it in her for a week, uh,
- 32:12Speaker 7: several matches, but we're talking about professional tennis now. Some
- 32:15Speaker 7: of these matches go three four hours. Uh it's asking
- 32:21Speaker 7: a lot. Because she's doing doubles as well. So I
- 32:25Speaker 7: think in the singles, any if she wins a match
- 32:29Speaker 7: as a success, so she gets to the second round, uh,
- 32:32Speaker 7: that's I think that's a success. In the doubles, they
- 32:37Speaker 7: could make a run like the I think past the
- 32:40Speaker 7: second round for that for that too, But I think.
- 32:44Speaker 6: They'll make a run for the doubles. But if she
- 32:46Speaker 6: reached the quarterfinals. That to push her to continue to
- 32:50Speaker 6: play a little bit more. I think that if she
- 32:52Speaker 6: reached the quarterfinals, Uh, that will make a lot of people.
- 32:56Speaker 6: We I ain't gonna say we will believe, we believe
- 32:58Speaker 6: we would. There were those who believe that she could
- 33:00Speaker 6: do it. She just reached the quarter final. We said, yeah,
- 33:03Speaker 6: we know she still got it.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Sports job. I felt like the ramping up of the
- 33:07Speaker 1: singles and the doubles, it's totally about getting back in
- 33:12Speaker 1: the groove to be able to be more impressive when
- 33:17Speaker 1: the US Open comes. That's what I read it as.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I'm I need a lot of tennis in. I need
- 33:24Speaker 1: to get a lot of tennis in. My crown jewel
- 33:28Speaker 1: is to be at a more of a competitive level
- 33:32Speaker 1: by the US Open, consistent. That's that's her baby, That's
- 33:38Speaker 1: that's her grand stage. That's where her love really comes
- 33:42Speaker 1: out for her. But to be able to a lot
- 33:47Speaker 1: of this for you out there is just I had
- 33:49Speaker 1: four years. I've had four years to get healthy, lose weight.
- 33:53Speaker 1: You have to imagine Venus and Serena, they play tennis
- 33:55Speaker 1: for staying in shape. That is their cardio, right that
- 34:00Speaker 1: is I wish I could play football for our day,
- 34:04Speaker 1: like in a real way. Sometimes I'll be thinking about it,
- 34:08Speaker 1: you know what, I need to go back out here
- 34:09Speaker 1: and just go find where the guys go because that
- 34:13Speaker 1: is good conditioning. But I wouldn't want to be, you know,
- 34:18Speaker 1: I just be the old man out there doing the drills, right,
- 34:22Speaker 1: But it would that's how they were treating like that
- 34:26Speaker 1: at the end. Anyway, you talking breath, Yeah, I'm gonna
- 34:32Speaker 1: be here.
- 34:33Speaker 6: What do you think you think if she make what
- 34:36Speaker 6: Greg says, win one match, canny one match? I mean,
- 34:39Speaker 6: I really think she's gonna try to get at least
- 34:42Speaker 6: to the quarterfinals at the woman.
- 34:44Speaker 1: You think that she can reach that far? I mean
- 34:46Speaker 1: possibly not the doubles. I don't know how good that
- 34:53Speaker 1: they were dominant in doing that. That seemed like at
- 34:56Speaker 1: a pace which they could go further. I didn't think
- 35:00Speaker 1: she could handle singles and doubles, even when she was
- 35:03Speaker 1: currently playing at the end of her career. Because of that.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Typically you pick one because you could have a singles
- 35:10Speaker 1: match today and a doubles match tomorrow. If you won
- 35:15Speaker 1: one of the other, you got another match in forty
- 35:18Speaker 1: eight hours. So to me, it's just trying to get
- 35:21Speaker 1: a lot of tennis in to not this rust off?
- 35:26Speaker 7: Do you think any of this will impact her legacy
- 35:30Speaker 7: in tennis? Like if she gets out here and then
- 35:33Speaker 7: a straight sets, jes get molly wopped.
- 35:37Speaker 6: They did drag her all over the court and people
- 35:40Speaker 6: be like, ah, Serena, you should have stayed home.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Well, people are natural. People that are unhappy always hate.
- 35:51Speaker 1: People that are jealous always hate. Who are you to
- 35:56Speaker 1: determine how long I play something? True? You don't know
- 36:00Speaker 1: the goal of me playing, right. Some people just like
- 36:03Speaker 1: to play tennis and they're allowing me to play. But
- 36:06Speaker 1: you want to decide how I should you go to
- 36:12Speaker 1: the semifinals? Are you didn't but research into your life,
- 36:15Speaker 1: take the thing that you love to do the most
- 36:18Speaker 1: and then call me so I can tell you when
- 36:21Speaker 1: you need to stop doing it. Whether that's telling jokes
- 36:27Speaker 1: d Jane Golfing, I'm gonna be the person who determines
- 36:33Speaker 1: when I've had that enough? Man, Ain't you tied of
- 36:36Speaker 1: that jokes? That's what you're trying to say when you
- 36:38Speaker 1: say that to an athlete. I'm gonna be the person
- 36:42Speaker 1: that tells you when you should stop doing what you
- 36:45Speaker 1: like to do. You ain't hurting nobody. It ain't costing
- 36:48Speaker 1: you no money, ain't no foreclosure sign on your house.
- 36:51Speaker 1: You just want to go do everybody all right? Just
- 36:54Speaker 1: want to do what you do. I just want to.
- 36:56Speaker 1: But I'm gonna sit somewhere on the TV screen and
- 36:59Speaker 1: tell tell you when you should stop it, because how
- 37:03Speaker 1: it's taken away from what you did. If jay Z
- 37:07Speaker 1: want to go make an album at fifty six fifty seven,
- 37:10Speaker 1: make you as many albums, go on tour, you know,
- 37:15Speaker 1: go from Madison Square to the Fox. It's your love.
- 37:19Speaker 8: Tell whatever tickets you sell. I didn't ask you to
- 37:23Speaker 8: come by a ticket. Some people don't even hear that that.
- 37:26Speaker 8: If jay Z or you know doing what do you
- 37:29Speaker 8: what you love to do because you love to do it?
- 37:31Speaker 1: Because I love to do it. Oh, Bill Belichick, Bill
- 37:34Speaker 1: Belichick can go home. Who are you to tell Bill BELLI?
- 37:38Speaker 1: You want to and if you want get him this job.
- 37:40Speaker 1: He'll go down here to Milton High School right and
- 37:44Speaker 1: coach them, right? Who is to tell him he ain't
- 37:47Speaker 1: hurt nobody? I think sometimes that's what he want to do.
- 37:51Speaker 1: He taking that same little eighty grand for the high school.
- 37:54Speaker 1: He why you mad?
- 37:58Speaker 9: It's your four albums Sports, Don't Go Away.

- 40:16Speaker 17: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project yellow Light and the
- 40:20Speaker 17: AD Council.
- 40:23Speaker 1: And now back to the sports John Wayne Candy, It's.
- 40:47Speaker 23: Log as you can see a sports jaint. I'll say,
- 40:51Speaker 23: even very canny.
- 40:54Speaker 1: What bake to this boy? Stock show? I'm in this
- 40:56Speaker 1: sport shock. Wayne Agandy Brand Marshall one of our favorite
- 41:02Speaker 1: receivers when he was in the NFL. The forty two
- 41:06Speaker 1: year old making news over the last couple of days,
- 41:13Speaker 1: recorded himself and his son, and punishment that he rendered
- 41:25Speaker 1: to his son. Now, when I read the report, it
- 41:30Speaker 1: doesn't really tell you what his son did, So it's
- 41:37Speaker 1: hard to frame up in the story why he had
- 41:42Speaker 1: his son out jogging at two am. But he did.
- 41:48Speaker 1: He recorded it, put it out on social media. Those
- 41:53Speaker 1: who are against that, now I would agree on that part,
- 41:59Speaker 1: where for me, there's a lot of stuff on social
- 42:04Speaker 1: media that I hear doesn't need to be there. But
- 42:10Speaker 1: in this case a lot of people are saying it's
- 42:13Speaker 1: abuse for him to have his son out running. He
- 42:18Speaker 1: was driving beside him in the car. It sounds like
- 42:23Speaker 1: he had told him he had to run two miles
- 42:26Speaker 1: and I would imagine I would imagine just trying to
- 42:31Speaker 1: be in his Maybe that's when he got home and
- 42:38Speaker 1: he woke him up. Poke curfey, it happens. I'm that's
- 42:44Speaker 1: when Brendan went whatever he had done, he decided to do,
- 42:50Speaker 1: dell out his right at that point, I I forgot
- 42:54Speaker 1: to burn the trash growing up, I forgot to burn
- 43:00Speaker 1: the trash. We used to burn trash in my neighborhood
- 43:03Speaker 1: until they finally put a sanitation restriction where they would
- 43:10Speaker 1: come pick. But it was a moment where they I
- 43:13Speaker 1: lived in an uncunincorporated area and I forgot to burn
- 43:18Speaker 1: the trash. My mom got home about twelve thirty one
- 43:23Speaker 1: o'clock in the morning. She woke me up. She said,
- 43:25Speaker 1: I thought I told you to burn the trash and
- 43:30Speaker 1: I did. It slipped my mind. I probably was about nine.
- 43:35Speaker 1: She told me to go out there and burn the trash. Now,
- 43:38Speaker 1: remember I lived unincorporated, don't have street lights. The feel
- 43:41Speaker 1: we burn is good hundred yards away from the house.
- 43:47Speaker 1: So I'm walking out there, it's dark. I go to
- 43:51Speaker 1: burn the trash. That cut on my arm. There's a
- 43:58Speaker 1: piece of glass sticking out when I went strike the match,
- 44:01Speaker 1: I cut my arm. That reminds me to do what
- 44:05Speaker 1: I need to do now.
- 44:07Speaker 7: And when you went back, when you went back in
- 44:09Speaker 7: the house, bleed, You said, Mama, come my mom. When
- 44:11Speaker 7: I'd burned the trash, he said, if you'd have burned
- 44:13Speaker 7: it in the daylight, it never happened to me.
- 44:16Speaker 1: It No, I didn't say that. You ain't even say nothing.
- 44:19Speaker 1: You went She did say if you had done it
- 44:22Speaker 1: when I told you to do do it. But I
- 44:23Speaker 1: didn't go back with any conversation because the lesson was learned.
- 44:29Speaker 1: So now more proactive than reactive of life, make the
- 44:35Speaker 1: change before I do things when they're supposed to be done.
- 44:39Speaker 1: So in this case, I kept thinking with Brendan, probably
- 44:42Speaker 1: just got home, and I don't want to wait till
- 44:46Speaker 1: tomorrow morning. I'm gonna get this out to wait now.
- 44:50Speaker 1: I can't tell this man he didn't he didn't hit him.
- 44:54Speaker 1: How this is the son looks like maybe he is
- 44:58Speaker 1: about twelve. I don't know that it put its age
- 45:02Speaker 1: in there. Great, did you see an age? I didn't
- 45:06Speaker 1: see an age in the story age and see that.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I'm just going by the picture from the car like
- 45:13Speaker 1: maybe he was in that twelve year range and he
- 45:17Speaker 1: But I didn't see the abuse that some of the
- 45:21Speaker 1: people that saw the story wanted to chime in. I
- 45:25Speaker 1: saw a person trying to discipline with the different tools.
- 45:31Speaker 1: And for you out there just doing that, you don't
- 45:33Speaker 1: know that he hasn't already used those tools that you're
- 45:36Speaker 1: offering him. You know how people like to excuse me, Okay,
- 45:41Speaker 1: ten years old now, but you don't know that just
- 45:45Speaker 1: for you people that like to chime in, oh you
- 45:49Speaker 1: chime in, remember little things like that. I went through
- 45:51Speaker 1: the four things you could suggested, right, Oh he could
- 45:56Speaker 1: have done that. I did that. I did that. I tried.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Oh you could have did that what I tried that
- 46:00Speaker 1: two weeks ago. I did those things. Now we have
- 46:04Speaker 1: moved up to something else. Right with those things, you're
- 46:08Speaker 1: chiming that I started there, and it's still not corporate.
- 46:11Speaker 6: But what he's doing with him by having him run,
- 46:13Speaker 6: that's not It's still not like you said, he's still
- 46:16Speaker 6: not putting his hands or you're not getting the.
- 46:19Speaker 8: Spit right now is saying that, Okay, maybe he shouldn't
- 46:24Speaker 8: have posted online or well, that's what I'm saying that.
- 46:27Speaker 8: It's uh, some people are calling it public humiliation. It
- 46:31Speaker 8: was two in the morning. Ain't nobody really like it's one?
- 46:35Speaker 1: I think they're saying public humiliation because he put it online. Yeah,
- 46:39Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's kind of That's where I am.
- 46:41Speaker 6: But if Brandon Marshall was out drunk himself for doing something,
- 46:45Speaker 6: they would put somebody.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Well, let's not, let's not do that. Let's not we're
- 46:49Speaker 1: still sticking to Brandon Marshall being sober and not using
- 46:52Speaker 1: well as the example, we're using his son, his son.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Let's let's stay there. I know America is always less
- 46:59Speaker 1: fine enough person Brandon Marshall being a dad. No, I'm
- 47:04Speaker 1: not taking it off Brandon marshall All.
- 47:05Speaker 6: I was saying that we're saying that he's embarrassing his son,
- 47:10Speaker 6: but we're quick to put Brandon Marshall or on if
- 47:13Speaker 6: he does something or says something boneheaded, we're quick to
- 47:16Speaker 6: put him on the social media.
- 47:17Speaker 1: So what's the difference. And the difference is that he's
- 47:20Speaker 1: been We're talking about parenting a ten year old. We're
- 47:25Speaker 1: not talking about Brandon Marshall as an adult. We're talking
- 47:29Speaker 1: about Brandon Marshall being a dad and parenting a parenting
- 47:33Speaker 1: a ten year old.
- 47:34Speaker 7: Now, I think a lot of what people comment is
- 47:39Speaker 7: based on their life experience and generationally a father waking
- 47:46Speaker 7: a son up in the middle of the night to
- 47:48Speaker 7: get some strengthening. Hey, you know, my dad was one
- 47:54Speaker 7: of them, coming in the middle of the night. Hey,
- 47:55Speaker 7: hey boy, hey, hey, no place Lee wake up. So
- 48:01Speaker 7: I heard that earlier today as you're talking about it,
- 48:04Speaker 7: noon daddy at three am, and we talked about what
- 48:08Speaker 7: happened at noon and we would have to straighten that
- 48:10Speaker 7: out then. Now, if that meantn't get the belt. We
- 48:13Speaker 7: had to get in the middle of the night, crack
- 48:15Speaker 7: a dawn whooping and go back to bed. If that
- 48:17Speaker 7: meant get up and burn some trash or wash some
- 48:20Speaker 7: dishes or straighten out whatever I told you that you neglected.
- 48:24Speaker 1: We had to do that.
- 48:25Speaker 7: So Brandon Marshall running his son at three in the morning,
- 48:29Speaker 7: I'm looking at his son like you winning, nephew.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Just just get.
- 48:32Speaker 6: Your jog on and everything would be okay, because there
- 48:36Speaker 6: wasn't no hands laid.
- 48:37Speaker 1: On, real league. And that's why I was saying, since
- 48:40Speaker 1: you don't know the whole story, it could have been
- 48:42Speaker 1: so many positive ways. Brandon could have woke up and
- 48:46Speaker 1: his son was supposed to be sleep and I had
- 48:49Speaker 1: told you to stop playing them video games. Uh remember
- 48:53Speaker 1: I came in here eleven o'clock till you put them
- 48:54Speaker 1: video games down and go to sleep. Did you catch it?
- 48:58Speaker 1: I get up and use your restaurant random margin forty two.
- 49:02Speaker 1: I hear you here, Oh I got something to see
- 49:05Speaker 1: the lights flashing? YEA says you ain't since you restless.
- 49:11Speaker 7: Yeah, you got all that energy all going you since
- 49:14Speaker 7: you rest we've been running. Now we not you're wrestless, right?
- 49:20Speaker 7: You look, you are you playing for so you're resting.
- 49:22Speaker 7: You ain't gonna get your shoes, Daddy. I ain't gonna
- 49:24Speaker 7: need my shoes.
- 49:26Speaker 1: And we'll be back more to Sports doc show right
- 49:28Speaker 1: after this. Let say my trips.
- 49:37Speaker 17: Secret.
- 49:38Speaker 10: Come on here, don't go awayne board of the Sports
- 49:43Speaker 10: Josh Show with Wayne Gamsydias coming up next.
- 49:47Speaker 11: Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable,
- 49:50Speaker 11: but it could save a life. Here's a way to
- 49:52Speaker 11: start a conversation. Your family is going over to your
- 49:55Speaker 11: neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would
- 49:58Speaker 11: you ask if there are any unlocked guns.
- 49:59Speaker 12: And hey, hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we
- 50:03Speaker 12: come over, though, may ask if there are any unlocked
- 50:06Speaker 12: guns in your home.
- 50:07Speaker 13: Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that
- 50:10Speaker 13: the kids can't access.

- 50:24Speaker 11: we'll get through this.
- 50:26Speaker 14: Mom, we are so high up.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Pull my hand, No, you hold my hand.
- 50:32Speaker 14: Here we go.
- 50:36Speaker 13: Learn about adopting a team from foster care.
- 50:39Speaker 1: You can't imagine the reward.

- 50:46Speaker 3: I learned patience from my adoptive dad.
- 50:50Speaker 1: All he had to say was, Hey, you got this.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Just breathe. Hey, we're pretty good. I wanted to start
- 51:01Speaker 1: a band.
- 51:03Speaker 11: I got it.
- 51:04Speaker 24: Learn about adopting a team from foster care. You can't
- 51:06Speaker 24: imagine the reward. Visit adopt us kids dot org to

- 51:18Speaker 1: And now back to the sports John Wayne Candy.
- 51:23Speaker 25: Center court on sports news gossip, blah blah, blah blah.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Welcome back to this spot, shock Shop. I'm in the
- 51:50Speaker 1: sports shock Wayne Candy, Big Kennedy to find a man
- 51:54Speaker 1: himself in the building this morning, the bad producer and
- 52:00Speaker 1: command you, Greg Isaiah Thomas, the great point guard of
- 52:04Speaker 1: the Detroit Piston, says Victor women Yama is being chosen
- 52:09Speaker 1: over Jalen Bronson like Jordan was over him as the
- 52:15Speaker 1: face of the league. Isaiah basically feels that the league
- 52:21Speaker 1: always likes to focus on like the bigger as he said,
- 52:25Speaker 1: player six six and up. They love the focus and
- 52:30Speaker 1: make them the face that guys like him and Iverson
- 52:34Speaker 1: and now Jalen Bronson the small guy. They don't really
- 52:39Speaker 1: want to give the crown two as the face of
- 52:44Speaker 1: the league, big Kenny man, she Greg with Victim women Ym.
- 52:53Speaker 1: But now in Victor's case versus a Jalen Bronson, I
- 52:56Speaker 1: think you got more than just size, because you do
- 52:59Speaker 1: have Bronson not being the first pick of the draft,
- 53:04Speaker 1: Victor being a bigger name, you know, advertising, and already
- 53:08Speaker 1: there more of a pheenom something we haven't seen versus
- 53:15Speaker 1: something that in Jalen Bronson is more typical that we see.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Does Isaiah have a you know, y'all always trying to
- 53:26Speaker 1: make the big man, what about those little guys? Commands Greg,
- 53:34Speaker 1: there's certainly some a little bit of bias on Isaiah
- 53:38Speaker 1: thoms side, But I don't think he's He's like, I
- 53:46Speaker 1: don't think Victor's being like chosen over Jalen, But I don't.
- 53:51Speaker 1: I don't think it's like being chosen over him, Like
- 53:53Speaker 1: it's something that's a little that's more marketable as a
- 53:57Speaker 1: guy who looks like he's eight feet tall and there's
- 54:00Speaker 1: a it's a spectacle that people can come, you know,
- 54:05Speaker 1: we want to see. I think with with Jalen Brunson,
- 54:08Speaker 1: while he's a great player, it's it's it's I think
- 54:14Speaker 1: it's a it's an apples the oranges type of thing
- 54:16Speaker 1: as far as like I mean, Jalen brunts his team won,
- 54:20Speaker 1: So I think that's gonna that can go a long
- 54:24Speaker 1: way rather than being this marketable face of the entire league.
- 54:28Speaker 1: But you did give love to the minute bowls and
- 54:31Speaker 1: the yow means these guys became household names over over
- 54:35Speaker 1: the little guards that might have been putting in work,
- 54:38Speaker 1: but just because they walk in it some foe.
- 54:41Speaker 6: All of a sudden, we know, we're not talking about
- 54:43Speaker 6: horse racing all. You know, we're not We're not talking
- 54:47Speaker 6: about we're not talking about soccer. We're talking about basketball.
- 54:50Speaker 6: Who traditionally was basketball designed for? Who are the people
- 54:55Speaker 6: who excelled the most?
- 54:56Speaker 1: The big man? The big man? So we stopped there.
- 55:00Speaker 7: So when we market the game of Giants, are we
- 55:03Speaker 7: gonna go get the Keebler Elf?
- 55:05Speaker 1: Now?
- 55:07Speaker 7: Yeah, but no, no, I'm saying, mister Keebler, you got handles,
- 55:11Speaker 7: them stripes, the Elf and magic we see that you
- 55:16Speaker 7: throw up like thirty points, work for dust every night.
- 55:21Speaker 1: But when we.
- 55:21Speaker 6: Put your face on a shoe, don't nobody feel like
- 55:25Speaker 6: they condunk with your face on the shoe because you.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Five foot nine.
- 55:33Speaker 6: I'm saying the lunch lady, five foot nine. I don't
- 55:37Speaker 6: need that in my on my shoes. I need somebody
- 55:41Speaker 6: that make me feel like I could do that. Sometimes
- 55:44Speaker 6: I dream that he is me what he's the big man.
- 55:52Speaker 6: I can't be Isaiah. I'm already Isaiah.
- 55:55Speaker 7: I'm saying I'm a normal person, and I'm already Isaiah.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Victim. Women you Jaylen Brown, like I said, Victor was,
- 56:04Speaker 1: you know, publicized. He's he's seven four, seven five or
- 56:09Speaker 1: whatever he is. Jalen Bronson is more of the plumbers
- 56:16Speaker 1: kind of point guard. No, it's not. It's not a
- 56:20Speaker 1: high wire act over the rim. He doesn't. His consistency
- 56:26Speaker 1: and physicalness why they call him big body. Bronson is
- 56:31Speaker 1: more of why he succeeds. He knows what kind of
- 56:33Speaker 1: player he is serving New York and strong. He does
- 56:36Speaker 1: he you know, but it's not he doesn't do a
- 56:38Speaker 1: lot of moves. He doesn't do to Michael Jordan or
- 56:41Speaker 1: the ant man type stuff which he's not got. He
- 56:45Speaker 1: doesn't have the highlight. I've never seen him dunk actually
- 56:48Speaker 1: proudly serving New York. Maybe at Connecticut. Uh you seen
- 56:51Speaker 1: him he went to Villanova, to Villanova. I'm sorry. I
- 56:55Speaker 1: actually saw a clip the other day. It was in practice,
- 56:58Speaker 1: but he did dunk it, so the plumber and it's
- 57:02Speaker 1: hard now And just like with Isaiah, it's hard if
- 57:05Speaker 1: you don't have the dunk, they don't really give you
- 57:08Speaker 1: too much. You got to dunk. They only let Steph
- 57:11Speaker 1: Curry because he at half court. If it had just
- 57:16Speaker 1: been the regular three at the three point line, then
- 57:21Speaker 1: I don't know if he would have won us over.
- 57:22Speaker 1: But it was just that it was so far away
- 57:25Speaker 1: we had to pay attention. We've seen people hit three pointers,
- 57:28Speaker 1: we just ain't seen people continually hit from the logo.
- 57:31Speaker 7: That's always the last second and you're trying to throw
- 57:33Speaker 7: it before half. But the dunk, but the dunk has
- 57:36Speaker 7: always been a tool that can get the marketing.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Is that not bad?
- 57:42Speaker 26: Yeah?
- 57:42Speaker 1: Yep, they can j r ryder guys like that. Ara Miner,
- 57:50Speaker 1: whoever won the dunk contest for a little window has
- 57:53Speaker 1: a little opening where Okay, now if you could take
- 57:55Speaker 1: your game up to the next level and something.
- 58:00Speaker 7: Remember when spud Web won it, not only did he
- 58:04Speaker 7: win it, but the big hype around it was he
- 58:07Speaker 7: wanted and he was.
- 58:08Speaker 1: A what short man? That was it.
- 58:12Speaker 7: That was what solidified His dunks weren't like three sixty
- 58:16Speaker 7: jumped over a Kiah did a backflip.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Why choir saying type dunk.
- 58:21Speaker 7: He just got up there and did a dunk and
- 58:25Speaker 7: everybody was like, love man, And that's what solidified spud Well.
- 58:30Speaker 7: And so Isaiah, a lot of that is just the
- 58:32Speaker 7: flea that comes with the dog you've chosen. It's a
- 58:36Speaker 7: big man's sport. You happen to be a little man
- 58:39Speaker 7: that excelled. And one thing I will say I agree
- 58:44Speaker 7: with is the NBA chooses who they push Now Isaiah,
- 58:50Speaker 7: not you had the look, you had the credentials, your
- 58:54Speaker 7: pedigree is blue chip, but you need risers in your shoe.
- 59:00Speaker 7: So Jordan's today, You're still gonna be it. You still
- 59:05Speaker 7: going to the Hall of Fame and all of that, Isaiah.
- 59:07Speaker 7: But when we do this campaign, it's gonna be around Jordan.
- 59:12Speaker 7: When we do the documentaries, will ask you questions about
- 59:16Speaker 7: Jordan's and that's because you got to blame your mom
- 59:20Speaker 7: and your daddy for that.
- 59:21Speaker 1: They do have a Jalen Bronson sandwich, an egg and
- 59:26Speaker 1: cheese sandwich with spicy mayo, big big back sandwich on everything. Yeah,
- 59:32Speaker 1: double egg, double cheese, spicy mayo on everything. Bagel rolls
- 59:38Speaker 1: on the sides of your body said, that's what purple
- 59:43Speaker 1: he said he had with purple doritos. I don't know
- 59:45Speaker 1: what those are.
- 59:47Speaker 6: The purple blazing something that's called all the bowl fat
- 59:52Speaker 6: boy doritos.
- 59:53Speaker 1: That's what they call fat boy doritos. It's a fat
- 59:55Speaker 1: boy sandwich with the fat boy and that Bodego that
- 59:59Speaker 1: he always goes. Those two has named it the Jalen Bruns.
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: And secretly they just come in and go, hey, give
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: me the fat boy combat.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: We'll be back in more to Sports doc Show right
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: after this.
- 1:00:19Speaker 10: On joone Bowl Away Board of the Sports Josh Show
- 1:00:27Speaker 10: with Wayne Gambies coming up next.

- 1:00:34Speaker 14: Just diebally.

- 1:00:40Speaker 27: may be your turn to guide her.
- 1:00:42Speaker 15: Hey, I'm worried about Mom. She keeps forgetting her famous

- 1:01:04Speaker 15: took lightly, but with everything going on, I really wanted
- 1:01:08Speaker 15: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 1:01:10Speaker 15: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own
- 1:01:12Speaker 15: home too.
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: Me aware your napkins, not that drawer unless anyone needs
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: a gun.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:01:22Speaker 15: I always locked my gun to keep everyone safe. Visit

- 1:01:31Speaker 28: Ever tried balancing a dozen eggs in one hand, or
- 1:01:34Speaker 28: hopping on one foot, or maybe juggling cats while riding
- 1:01:37Speaker 28: the unicycle? Sounds ridiculous, right, but guess what. That's exactly
- 1:01:42Speaker 28: what texting while driving is like. Your human brain only
- 1:01:44Speaker 28: has the capacity to focus on one thing at a time,
- 1:01:47Speaker 28: so when you're behind the wheel, give driving your undivided attention.
- 1:01:51Speaker 11: Don't drive distracted, a message brought to you by the
- 1:01:54Speaker 11: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project yellow Light and the
- 1:01:58Speaker 11: AD Council.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Enough enough, I don't have any serious shuck and we
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: hold the world ranchom for me, excuse me while I
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: whipped this out.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Broadcasting live and Atlanta, Georgia to this. This is the
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Sports Shot Show with Wayne Dandy. You may began.
- 1:02:28Speaker 20: Again the shore We come so far?
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Come fundy comes to mind? Is it just.
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: I'm a doing?
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way you made Pill Vegan,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Welcome back to this What Shock Show. I'm this wort
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Shock Wayne Candy. Good morning to you out there listening Land.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Glad to be here with you. Commands, Greg Brad, Producer,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Big Kennedy, the finny man himself. We have welcomed you
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: to summer the NBA Draft. We'll talk about that in
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: just a second. That's tomorrow and Wednesday, Yes, two nights.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: But one thing, so you know, and we probably have
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: to revisit the Zeke and Michael Jordan thing. There is
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: a part and I think sometimes the friction between Jordan
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: and Zeke, which was a rivaly in the eighties, So
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: sometimes you think whatever Zeke's saying. He's saying from an
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: ill spot, but I think there is legitimacy to what
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: he is saying, kind of like the pitcher in Major
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: League Baseball will always get more credit than the second
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: basement second baseman got to do something. In football, they
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: quickly the quarterback becomes the number one discussion period, not
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: a cornerback or the safety. They the highest payton the league,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: be twenty times Pro Bowl. But whatever quarterback come here
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: will be a household name. They instantly put his name
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: on the everything, on the merchandise, onything, everything you got
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: to order you a cornerback so and so jersey, but
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: they selling the quarterback jersey.
- 1:04:23Speaker 8: They promote the game and have the two best players.
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: It's the quarterback and the quarterback. It's the quarterback in
- 1:04:30Speaker 8: the quarterback.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: It's Peyton Manning versus Tom Brady all way always, and
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: they don't even go against each other. They've always been
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Tom got the upper head on Peyton. How they don't
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: even defend each other. They're not on the field at
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: the same time. They don't do it's mental. Brady throw
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: a touchdown. Peyton Man's like, I gotta respond. That's what
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: they say.
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: Tom Brady threw for four hundred yards in the first half,
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: and Peyton responded with three hundred and eighty yards of
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: his own. And Tom ain't out doing nothing like Peyton
- 1:05:07Speaker 7: looked at Tom like, hold on, hold on, I jumped you.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: NBA draft has decided to do kind of like the NFL.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: I don't think this is a smart move from the
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: sense that it's hard to get people to watch the
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: first round of the NBA draft here lately because most
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: people only know one or two names. A lot of
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: times your bigger names, most people don't get out of
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: the lottery. They watch until about the lottery is over,
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: and then they check out and start just clicking to
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: see when their team might be up. Oh, they almost
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: to the whatever your team is, Like, yo, so I
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: watched the first couple of picks because you might know
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: those names. But then your team is not up to
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: twenty four. So they start naming guys, especially when they
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: start naming foreign born players that you never heard of.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: You start getting bored. Then, man, I don't even know
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: who that is, Like, you don't be knowing who is
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Nobody knew who Luca was. Remember when Luca was right right?
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: Was getting drafted and they trade Luca Man. Who is this?
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: I can't believe they the Hawks, Remember the Hawks drafted Luca?
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: How many how many people? How many teams? How many
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: teams they did? There? Eight?
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: Fourteen, fourteen? See and you said most people watched the
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: fourteen teams that don't make the playoffs?
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: Right, get in the draft and see I barely make
- 1:06:32Speaker 7: it out of the top six or seven when the
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: NBA draft, when they do the lottery picks, maybe top five,
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: because by number three I didn't heard at least two
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: people I ain't never heard of before. By the time
- 1:06:45Speaker 7: they get to number five, I've heard at least two dudes.
- 1:06:48Speaker 7: I don't know that I never heard of that.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Dude the Hawks had here like three years ago, nobody
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: had heard of Zachary. We are really the most known,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: one of the most top two or three unknown first
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: picks of the drafts that you would ever. Nobody even
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: knows how much he's been playing or his impact on
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: the team. He's so unknown.
- 1:07:10Speaker 8: So we remember the other French dude, Sary Alexander Sar
- 1:07:14Speaker 8: who the Wizards took at the second pick. He was
- 1:07:17Speaker 8: projected to be the first pick, and then it came
- 1:07:19Speaker 8: out like, oh, I don't want to play for the Hawks, Like,
- 1:07:22Speaker 8: we don't know who you are.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Well, the NBA has decided they're going to do the
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: first round tomorrow and then the second round Wednesday.
- 1:07:32Speaker 8: What joy I think there's a there's a in a
- 1:07:37Speaker 8: draft where all I know is the Boozer kid.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: And then they have a guy that plays for Kansas.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: But think about but I don't know his name. I
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: just know there's supposed to be this kid from Kansas
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: that's supposed to be a top two or three pick.
- 1:07:55Speaker 8: Right, Yeah, he's he's some people and they this happens
- 1:07:59Speaker 8: every He's like, oh, he's the next Kobe.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Now, don't do that to him.
- 1:08:05Speaker 7: Well, and I'm sure they never saw it coming. But
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: the NBA talks about all that they're trying to do
- 1:08:12Speaker 7: for viewership retention. You think part of that is their
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: own fault because I don't want to spend my money
- 1:08:22Speaker 7: on a product that I don't know if it work.
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: You've done drafted some kid I ain't never heard of before.
- 1:08:28Speaker 7: Now you want me to buy a season ticket to
- 1:08:30Speaker 7: come see him because he was number one? I don't
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: know who he is. I'm not going to buy a
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: season ticket for that. I don't even know if I
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: want to tune in for this, but you keep on
- 1:08:38Speaker 7: telling me that I need to. And now I got
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: to wait two three seasons before I believe enough in
- 1:08:44Speaker 7: this to keep on supporting it. Do you do you
- 1:08:48Speaker 7: think maybe if they went back to a hey, y'all
- 1:08:51Speaker 7: need to stay we yet a year or two, we
- 1:08:54Speaker 7: would generate more interest in the draft. Or is it
- 1:08:57Speaker 7: too late to close those international border doors because we'll
- 1:09:01Speaker 7: never get all that stuff. Too late because we'll we'll
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: never get enough film on those guys. We'll never know
- 1:09:08Speaker 7: enough about the Resar Shres because they're from well.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: The Thompson twins didn't even go to college. They went
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: to overtime et least. Yeah, I remember that. I remember
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: when they got drafted, and I was they have a
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: problem that they most they it's nothing too soft. They
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: don't have any weapons to solve it. All they have
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: to have is the two here and there when they
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: do have a Wimbin Yamba name to be able to sail.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: But most of these drafts have started to be two
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: player as far as them, or you catch some guys
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: like that did end up playing maybe three years in
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: college before they really developed and then you gotta see them,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: but most of it well, and I was just.
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: Doing, are they're like who they projected the top ten?
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: They're running. I don't know if you have anyone else.
- 1:10:03Speaker 6: They're running like a little doing sports center, a little
- 1:10:06Speaker 6: mini bio on these kids, and they let them come
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: on and talk like I.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Just found out the young man from Louisville. But they've
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: got them project the top ten.
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: But I didn't realize Donova Mitchell was the last first
- 1:10:18Speaker 6: round or pick from Louisville, So that was interesting to me.
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: But they are attempting to put a face or try
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: to get us acquainted.
- 1:10:28Speaker 8: That's why it's expanded to two nights because I think
- 1:10:31Speaker 8: like with each pick they're going, they're trying to introduce
- 1:10:35Speaker 8: these players we may not know to America and then
- 1:10:38Speaker 8: to that particular market, whatever team they go to.
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: Even with the American players we talk about, we don't
- 1:10:43Speaker 7: know the players. But you just mentioned the Twins. They
- 1:10:45Speaker 7: came out of overtime and lead. I was like, where
- 1:10:47Speaker 7: the hell is that? I don't even know what is that?
- 1:10:50Speaker 12: A school?
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Is that a?
- 1:10:54Speaker 7: And then one day I was riding through Atlantic Station
- 1:10:56Speaker 7: and I saw Ote and I went, wait a minut
- 1:11:00Speaker 7: in it. That's the school they went to and it's
- 1:11:03Speaker 7: just a big gym and wow, so you know, a
- 1:11:07Speaker 7: lot of that has changed, and you.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: Would have to also start selling that because when you're
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: drafted in the second round in the NBA, it's around
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: where people don't even care. Wow, it's not like the NFL.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: Your team is built on second third rounders. The NBA
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: makes it seem like the really outside of the lot
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: That's why they call it the lottery picks. Yeah that
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: you only get love if you're a lottery pick and
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: tall and tall so got but maybe that'll work Greg
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: and bad producer that they try to give a little bio.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I just didn't see where this draft needed to be
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: two nights. I don't know how they got the commercial people.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: They must have been given a two for one special
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: to get advertisers the even care.
- 1:12:02Speaker 7: Or maybe your contract just got you locked in where
- 1:12:04Speaker 7: you got to support so many to stay up because
- 1:12:08Speaker 7: it's just you know.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Yeah, So NBA trades are up. I know the Atlanta
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Hawks traded for the Thunders Aaron Wiggins to try to
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: boast their team. The Hawks also kept CJ. McCullum for
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: one year, Jannis Sounderstakoupo. Teams like the Heat.
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: Are interested, and the Celtics and the Wolves in Minnesota.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Well it's two teams. I was just watching. I'm quite
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: sure all thirty teams are interested or twenty nine outside.
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: So let me ask actually three that can actually possibly
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: right on Atlanta call Pooh Shisty and what's his name
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: called t I and Jamaine dupri and who else? Fam
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: goon ralloh and all them dudes with all that money
- 1:12:59Speaker 6: and landed.
- 1:13:00Speaker 7: You go get Yannis. Why don't they Why don't they
- 1:13:03Speaker 7: put their bread together and go get Yanni's call Fam
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: going Now you'll be bad. I know you got a number.

- 1:19:27Speaker 1: died in the car accident with I think two of
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: her kids. But I don't really watch those shows. But
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Top fifty groups by bill Board. As we talked about Earth,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Winn and Fire was one, The Temptations was two, sly
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: and The Family Stone was three. As Greg alluded to,
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: a lot of these groups were in the seventies, so
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: this must be an old writer who came up with this.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: You imagine. The Eisley Brothers was four, the Supremes five.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: As you can see, we're still in the sixties and seventies.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Parliament Funkadelic is seventies, the Jackson five sixties and seventies. Finally,
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: a group of modern time New edition is at eight, Boys,
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: The Men at nine, Destiny Child at ten, which I
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: see is a little high on me. Where Destiny Child
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: as a group, not as a overall with Beyonce and
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: Kelly no Rowland, it's what they did as singles, but
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: as a group, and that's what they go high. There's
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: a couple of girls groups. TLC is eleven, O Jays's
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: twelve Ohio Players, And as I said, I basically because
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: you had so many groups like the four Tops, by
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: Its ninety Pips, sw V, Guy Sam and Dave his sisters,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: the Ohio Players, the Staple Singers, pool In the Gang,
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: and then finally at twenty seven you got the Jodasy.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: It was just too many of those groups that I
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: just didn't see for me. As I said above, Jodasy.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: Nothing against those groups, but you can't tell me that
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: those twenty five groups are ahead of Jodasy. It's not
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: for me. What about you, guys?
- 1:21:31Speaker 8: I thought Jodasy would be a little higher some of
- 1:21:35Speaker 8: the groups like Mason and Frankie Beverly, they're at number fourteen.
- 1:21:44Speaker 8: I think most people know maybe four songs from them.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: I think, really, let's come on, I don't know what song,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: but maybe you probably could say something. You know, something.
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: That that's Rufous without Chaka Khan, not without Yeah, but
- 1:22:12Speaker 7: asked Rufus.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: I didn't even know was a group. Yeah, that's the
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: name of the group. I thought it was just it's
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: interesting that.
- 1:22:22Speaker 7: Uh yeah, I just learned that to what the guy.
- 1:22:26Speaker 7: I think the bassist, Andrew matthew Man is the leader
- 1:22:30Speaker 7: of the group. She's the lead singer, but they named
- 1:22:33Speaker 7: the band after her. The name of the band is
- 1:22:36Speaker 7: Shad and her name is Shad.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: So they're trying to get double dip. Well are you? However,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: you get on, but you get on. But unless you
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: read paragraph three, you don't know. They presented as Asy
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: as a solo artist that these dudes just backing her up.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: So Jodasy Earth Winning Fire with you guys going with
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: Josy earth Winding Fire. See this, this, this is what
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: I think people, Jodases and one Earth Winding Fire.
- 1:23:10Speaker 7: And see this was I think Jodasy For me, Earth
- 1:23:13Speaker 7: Winning Fire was an era when everybody just was no shirt,
- 1:23:17Speaker 7: they all had their chest out. Well, Jodacey came along
- 1:23:20Speaker 7: when ripping your shirt off became a thing, and what
- 1:23:23Speaker 7: calmed down and win at all conservative and everybody was
- 1:23:26Speaker 7: doing good. Here comes Jodasy with combat boots and then
- 1:23:29Speaker 7: ripped a silk shirt Paul to reveal a bird chest.
- 1:23:33Speaker 6: Hell yeah, and I can see why Earth Winning Fire.
- 1:23:36Speaker 6: They're one of the I could say pop R and
- 1:23:41Speaker 6: B groups that was went out there that they had
- 1:23:43Speaker 6: a wide audience. First time I ever heard earth Winding
- 1:23:48Speaker 6: Fire was with my boy scout than he was. He
- 1:23:52Speaker 6: ain't lit nothing like me, and I'm like, who is that?
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: So that's why I said. And that was at a
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: young age, so you know, earth Winding Fire has that.
- 1:23:58Speaker 6: But Jodysy is like you said.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: It like, we'll be back more to Sports Jock Show
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: right after this, right, don't go away.
- 1:24:20Speaker 10: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Ganvidios comming
- 1:24:23Speaker 10: up next. Hurting the game, We tough it out, feel exhausted,
- 1:24:28Speaker 10: we push on feeling down.
- 1:24:31Speaker 5: We pull ourselves up by the bootstraps. But there are
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: times when bootstraps aren't enough, when stress gets to us
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: and we need to talk to someone about what we're
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: really going through. So we're going to reach out because
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: sometimes mental health is not a one person job. Is
- 1:24:47Speaker 5: it Love your Mind Today?
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: Dot org? That's Love your Mind Today dot org.

- 1:24:53Speaker 5: the head counsel.
- 1:24:54Speaker 14: All right, son, till I'm going to put out this campfire.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: God, we learned about this in school.
- 1:24:58Speaker 14: Oh did you now Okay, what's first?
- 1:25:01Speaker 28: Smokey Bear said, to.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: First drown it with the bucket of water, then stir
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: it with a shovel.
- 1:25:06Speaker 14: Wow, you sound just like him, he said.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: If it's still warm, then do it again.
- 1:25:12Speaker 14: Where can I learn all this?
- 1:25:13Speaker 27: It's all on smokeybear dot Com with other wildfire prevention tips,
- 1:25:18Speaker 27: because only you can prevent wildfires.
- 1:25:20Speaker 14: Brought to you by the USDA for Service, your state Forester,

- 1:25:24Speaker 7: But that means do not to.
- 1:25:27Speaker 20: Stop and going.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I need you. They say, Please don't always sing with me.
- 1:25:36Speaker 25: That means do not.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: And going.
- 1:25:41Speaker 20: I JA They say, please don't always remember.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: Don't drive distracted.
- 1:25:47Speaker 19: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 1:25:49Speaker 19: Safety Administration, Project yellow Light, and the AD Council.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: And now back to the sports John Wayne Gandy.
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: Players Lounge.
- 1:26:04Speaker 25: You have been given full access to the players Lounge
- 1:26:07Speaker 25: on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: You both my love. Welk back to this Worstock show.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: I'm the Sportshock Wing Kendig. Morning to you once again,
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Big Kenny Comanchi, Greg Bad producer in the Building Atlantic
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: League team forfeits after some players refused to wear a priecher.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: See this is something last week that was kind of
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: in the news. Major League Baseball also having a little
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: issue where Josh Howley us senter To wrote a letter
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: to Major League Baseball Commiss Rob Manfred about Major League
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: Baseball players being warned that they couldn't wear religious messages
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: on their Pride hats or uniforms on Pride. Now, just
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: a lot surrounding. We've kind of been in a vein
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: with Pride Nights and a lot of nights where sports
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: intersects with trying to promote different nights to celebrate different things.
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: I know we talk here in Atlanta, Atlanta's big they
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: have Pride Night up all the way up to Jamarin
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: Jermain do pre Night. It's like it's a whole division
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: of marketing for the teams. You go to Falcon games.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: Each game they try to put a theme on Hawks, Falcons, Braves,
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: Bobblehead Night for outcast, and you'd be thinking, well, what
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: they have to do with, you know, two men on
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: bottom of the ninth. I don't know, but okay, it's
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: bottle Ahead night. But anything to promote different groups to
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: come out and join and using that as we saw
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: magic City Night become a thing where controversy around the
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: country for the Hawks, controversy everywhere once again Pride Night.
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: I think this becomes Some players for the Giants when
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: they did their Pride Night, either didn't wear the uniform
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: or just didn't play at all that night and brought
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: some attention to this of where does this fit to
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: me as an organization. It seems to be where you
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: have to give the player, still give the player their
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: right nothing. To me, that's the intersection of you can
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: have your night, but you also have to give that
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: player his freedom that if he doesn't want to wear
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: or be part of that, you have to be open
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: maybe to have a discussion of you know, that kind
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: of thing, because this isn't just like a team owner
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: died and you put the patch on. You know, one
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: of your teammates died and you put the patch on.
- 1:29:54Speaker 7: This is a philosophy, a lifestyle, a greatly challenged way
- 1:30:00Speaker 7: of life. I think that sometimes we always talk about
- 1:30:05Speaker 7: overcorrection when you talk about inclusion. When we started talking
- 1:30:10Speaker 7: about Pride Nights, I think the inception of it was
- 1:30:13Speaker 7: to make fans and players alike who were part of
- 1:30:18Speaker 7: the LGBTQ lifestyle, understand that they were comfortable being themselves.
- 1:30:26Speaker 7: You could come as you are, but having a pride
- 1:30:30Speaker 7: night where you got to stand up and champion that
- 1:30:34Speaker 7: diversity takes away my coming as I am. Maybe I'm
- 1:30:39Speaker 7: not a rainbow guy. Maybe I don't like how I
- 1:30:43Speaker 7: look in rainbow. Give me a solid color. Any one
- 1:30:46Speaker 7: of them colors out of the rainbow I'm fine with,
- 1:30:49Speaker 7: But just give me a solid one. Or maybe I'm
- 1:30:51Speaker 7: super religious. Whatever my views are, I should be allowed
- 1:30:55Speaker 7: to feel how I feel and still play for this
- 1:30:58Speaker 7: team and still support the team and are getting a win.
- 1:31:01Speaker 7: But for you to somehow ostracize me, penalize me, or
- 1:31:05Speaker 7: exclude me because I'm not out here.
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: Like Yay for gay, I think it's very unfair. I think, uh,
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: it's I don't know.
- 1:31:22Speaker 8: I think it's it's when these kinds of things happen,
- 1:31:27Speaker 8: you know. I think the players want to have more
- 1:31:30Speaker 8: of a more of a say in how they are
- 1:31:36Speaker 8: integrated into these kind of promotions, and like you said,
- 1:31:42Speaker 8: there a conversation needs to be had to where the
- 1:31:45Speaker 8: players feel more comfortable or they can be given a choice.
- 1:31:48Speaker 7: Don't you think that's fair for them to be to
- 1:31:51Speaker 7: have more input into how they're integrated into these central I.
- 1:31:55Speaker 8: Think it's fair to at least have the have the
- 1:31:59Speaker 8: conversation or to get the players perspective because on any
- 1:32:02Speaker 8: of these teams you got a lot of different personalities
- 1:32:04Speaker 8: and perspectives and beliefs someone made you. You have to
- 1:32:10Speaker 8: consider that there may be one or several players who
- 1:32:14Speaker 8: are not comfortable and say, well, they need to get comfortable.
- 1:32:21Speaker 8: You still need to talk to them and have some
- 1:32:23Speaker 8: kind of understanding. Don't just like force it out there
- 1:32:26Speaker 8: because you could, uh, it go a long way to
- 1:32:31Speaker 8: be a detrimental.
- 1:32:32Speaker 6: And well, I think they should cancel all the nights.
- 1:32:37Speaker 6: I'm with let's display ball because you got too much controversy.
- 1:32:41Speaker 6: You got people who don't who like say they you're
- 1:32:44Speaker 6: not giving them a choice. You canceled the one thing
- 1:32:47Speaker 6: because you thought it was bad because of the kids
- 1:32:51Speaker 6: are going to be there. But then you will have
- 1:32:52Speaker 6: a pride night. Then you got your kids to ask
- 1:32:53Speaker 6: the questions, well why is that? And why is this
- 1:32:56Speaker 6: and that? So you're getting all these questions out here
- 1:32:58Speaker 6: and different things. I applaud the team out of Pennsylvania,
- 1:33:02Speaker 6: the minor league team. They stood together as a whole
- 1:33:04Speaker 6: team and said we're not wearing it. They had to
- 1:33:06Speaker 6: cancel the whole game. So we're gonna cancel the Junie
- 1:33:08Speaker 6: game two, We're gonna canceled. We're gonna cancel. Like I
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: said in the beginning when I started, I said, let's
- 1:33:15Speaker 6: cancel all. Okay, Okay, I said not just that, I said,
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: let's cat so you can get away from.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: Well, let's make sure now, because we are in business,
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: we run the number Name nights make thirty percent more
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: than none Name nights. Right, then we are not gonna
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: do what you're saying at all, Okay, because remember everything
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: starts with that. They're also like, there could be discount
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: prices on tickets.
- 1:33:47Speaker 6: Okay, and that's fine, but that should be But me,
- 1:33:51Speaker 6: as a I should have a choice as a consumer
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: and as a player a person if I want to participate.
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: What no, this this is and this is my thing.
- 1:34:01Speaker 7: That is my stance is that that is one hundred
- 1:34:04Speaker 7: percent a fan activity. For you to make the players
- 1:34:11Speaker 7: compulsory in participating is unfair, unfair. The same way they
- 1:34:16Speaker 7: have Divine Night, Divine nine Night. I can come to
- 1:34:20Speaker 7: the game with my Omegasi Fi T shirt on. You
- 1:34:23Speaker 7: might give me a discounted ticket. If I don't want
- 1:34:26Speaker 7: to be identified as connected to my organization, I can
- 1:34:29Speaker 7: come in my regular clothes. But any player on the teams,
- 1:34:34Speaker 7: on the field or the court, they don't have to
- 1:34:37Speaker 7: come out. And they and the NFL's replete with Omega
- 1:34:41Speaker 7: sci Fi members, the NBA has them. I'm sure Major
- 1:34:44Speaker 7: League Baseball They're not required to acknowledge their membership. And
- 1:34:50Speaker 7: I'm saying for you to be made to wear something
- 1:34:54Speaker 7: that says I support something that I may not even
- 1:34:57Speaker 7: know anything about.
- 1:34:59Speaker 6: And then and then you're and then you're out there
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: and you look like I support. No, I don't support.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: I'll just I gotta work. I got to do my job.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: They told me I have to wear this well, And
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying. The conversation needs to be had,
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: and the players union and the owners need to get
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: down and it should be either you're going to add
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: everybody's night, but you should always have an option that
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: that's not what you want to be. You can't make
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: somebody's sensibilities be yours on everything, right, And if I
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: don't agree, I can't.
- 1:35:40Speaker 8: If it was the Yeah, the Pride Night and the
- 1:35:44Speaker 8: first However, many fans get this hat or shirt or
- 1:35:48Speaker 8: something like that, and the players aren't wearing that, this
- 1:35:51Speaker 8: probably isn't an issue. And then you know in minor
- 1:35:54Speaker 8: league baseball there's or just lyric motion every single game
- 1:35:57Speaker 8: like they're they're trying to get people every leave.
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: It to the fans and leave the players out of it. Yeah,
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: because I doubt I doubt participation. I doubt here that
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: I can't imagine that the Hawks was going to put
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: Magic City on their jerseys patch. And remember, most of
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: this is surrounding that the players just don't want to
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: wear patches, patches or the labeling of it. They don't
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: mind playing. Now one or two stories where they just
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: didn't want to play at all, but it typically seems
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: like it surrounds that I don't want to have the
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: brand of it. I just want to come out here
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: in my San Francisco regular uniform. The crowd can have
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: pride night, right, but I don't have to be We
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: don't have to label the players. We don't seen this
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: come up with We saw this in the NFL with
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: the breast cancer awareness. That's kind of how that started
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: to become because some players like Cameron Hayward are the
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: stills he wanted on camp. He wanted to show his
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: father Ironhead got of brain cancer. So now we're in conflicting,
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: you know, in the same But we saw the NBA
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: after that Black Lives Matter, they have moved away from
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: the players themselves kind of promoting something right and letting
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: the people in the stands. They moved it off the
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: floor because on the floor it's on the So it
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: seems like either we're going to be neutral or we're
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: going and half the night. That's half the night because
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: I can't tell you the Magic City situation if you
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: were kind of maybe cleared up that there was not
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: going to be any dancing or the that the Hawks
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: as themselves, but they were going to make a lot
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: of money off the merchandises. The game was a bigger seller.
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: That That is our decide. That is our departments job
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: to find ways to get people out. Speaking of making money,
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: where the hoodie go? You still got the hoodie?
- 1:38:06Speaker 7: Yes, you ain't offended by that whole Magic City thing
- 1:38:09Speaker 7: enough to give it away.
- 1:38:11Speaker 6: I'm still shot. Are you going to keep it or
- 1:38:16Speaker 6: auction it off? Or I was hoping you'd be outraged
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: and money.
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: Man, he pulled it out. I'm sorry, blessing me.
- 1:38:25Speaker 7: No, I'm saying I know you don't like to dip
- 1:38:28Speaker 7: into that section of life, and I have more experience
- 1:38:32Speaker 7: than maybe I should have in that world.
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: So, Kiri, Remember my biggest point was that the Hawks
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: should not be promoting the abusiveness of women, the exploitation
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: of women. And then the next game talk about women empowerment. Right,
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: no matter how frequent you go to the strip club,
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: for my sensibility, that's not women's empowerment. Women's empowerment is
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: something that you would encourage your own daughter or your
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: sister to do. I haven't met that person, right. They
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: want to see it, but they wouldn't promote it to
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: who they're So you're not empowering. I don't. I doubt
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: that any of us have offered a family member or
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: sister or best friend when they fall on hard times. Girl,
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: you need to go down to city. No, yeah, okay,
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: but that's a known on the hoodie we just got
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: next to. It won't fit you, you know I tried
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: it all. No, you're too big in the Wow combo,
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: don't go away. More of The Sports Josh Show with
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: Wayne Dant videos dumbing up next Brad Gazan on a

- 1:42:11Speaker 23: sing even Jenny, Welcome back to the Sport Shock Show.
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: I'm this sport Shock Wing again. We talked about Jayleen
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: Bronson and his sandwich. Caitlyn Clark dropped her first shoe
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: this weekend and og and Anobi from the next He
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: has a new sketcher out, so people got new shoes.
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: I saw Caitlyn Clark at the game. Went to the
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: Dream Game the other day. Great crowd the fever was
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: in town. And it's just the one thing about Caitlyn Clark.
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: I think the advantage she has, the curiosity of men
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: is more peaked when she comes to arena Because I
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: went to the Aces Versus Dream game a couple of
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: weeks ago, as way, y'all, and the same amount of people,
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: but different gender of the crowd. You could see more
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: men have interest to see it. To them, they say
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: the same sellout. Men anticipate a.
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: More competitive game maybe when she comes. I just think
- 1:43:18Speaker 6: they want to maybe witness what she's doing. The curiosity
- 1:43:22Speaker 6: of her.
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: Is she really that good? Or yeah, y'all just hyping her? Right?
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: Is she really that good? Is she just good for
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: a girl?
- 1:43:30Speaker 27: No?
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: She she is, as I said, And so I'm saying,
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: and then they see her and go, yeah she good.
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: She is good as and the and that's the thing
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: you get to see that there's a lot of great
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: players in the league.
- 1:43:42Speaker 26: Uh.
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: And and it's so funny. I was sitting there watching
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: the game and they do that whole box in one
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: like they do to Steph Curry, Like whoever defends her
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: never leaves her. They don't care what to play. It's
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: going on she just she stands like Steph does and
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: pulls and just creates a hole in the defense and
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: Kelsey Mitchell goes to work because the defender is way
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: wherever she is, they over here, and just creates this
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: caveat that you can drive down some dude in the tunnel, like,
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: what are you doing back here in the tunnel?
- 1:44:16Speaker 15: Right?
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: Oh, she in the bathroom. I'm just waiting on her
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: to come out of the bathroom. Right. But a great game.
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: The Dream have a team that truly if they stay
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: healthy and keep Angel Reese out of foul trouble, yeah,
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: they could do something for a championship that that's their
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: biggest thing in health and can they keep her out
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: of those early files she gets a lot of early
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: first quarter she putting in a lot of she's the
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: first w filing to this is not one of those
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: they just they just call it really hacking, hacking compete
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: get gets some money's worth. Yeah, she she that's her attitude,
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: and that's her that's her attitude because the money gonna
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: play in my face. So she's bigger and taller than
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: you would imagine, right, and she played with that and
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: she plays intimidating style is it didn't.
- 1:45:12Speaker 7: I heard she's the first in w NBA history to
- 1:45:16Speaker 7: reach the thousand rebounds that quickly. Yes, and in the
- 1:45:19Speaker 7: in a career, so she don't play what seventy three
- 1:45:22Speaker 7: games or something in the yeah, and thousand so like thirteen, Yeah.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: You don't get that being nice and and her game
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: and the thing. But because I just love watching she
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: is still more of a true uh low post person,
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: meaning like she is not gonna be too far away
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: from the rim right, especially like her offensive game is
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: at the rimy it's not outside. She ain't bring the ball,
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: not going to bring it up right really, and if
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: she does, she's probably gonna go and shoot it. She's
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: trying to get to the rim like a traditional eighties
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: nineties power forward, the old power forward. So she's always
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: in a better position to rebound the ball than most
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: bigs are because most bigs now have more of a
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: small forward game. They're tall and they have the size,
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: but their game is shooting. She's going to be Everything
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: is going to be below that dotted line for her.
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: But a great crowd came out in a great atmosphere.
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: I did notice between the two games that both would
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: sellouts and great atmosphere, but there was more men at
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: the Dream Fever game than at the dream Aces game. Kenny,
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: we got a couple of comments here.
- 1:46:45Speaker 7: Yeah, our loyal online listeners have been listening from the
- 1:46:49Speaker 7: top of the first hour sports Jack and when we
- 1:46:52Speaker 7: talked about FEE, I believe it was the top fifty
- 1:46:56Speaker 7: greatest R and B groups we had, Elder Casey Hwe
- 1:46:59Speaker 7: asked what about eight Town and the Isley Brothers and
- 1:47:02Speaker 7: we found out that they of the brothers number four
- 1:47:05Speaker 7: number four H Town did not make the listen and again,
- 1:47:09Speaker 7: music subjective, but I'm surprised that a group like I
- 1:47:13Speaker 7: only remember for that one, but that was a super
- 1:47:18Speaker 7: impactful album. But again again, uh, maybe Ready for the
- 1:47:24Speaker 7: World wasn't on that list. Yeah, they literally had a
- 1:47:28Speaker 7: full body of body of work and Sho did ment Condition,
- 1:47:32Speaker 7: which has two or three albums.
- 1:47:34Speaker 17: Uh.
- 1:47:36Speaker 7: He said that he thought that when we were talking
- 1:47:38Speaker 7: about Serena that number one, uh, Cocoa Golf was about
- 1:47:41Speaker 7: that life. And then he said, maybe that's why Serena's
- 1:47:44Speaker 7: doing it because of those comments y'all and others have
- 1:47:47Speaker 7: expressed concerning her that is she too old? That how
- 1:47:50Speaker 7: far will she go? And his thing is just you know,
- 1:47:54Speaker 7: all things are possible to them that believe.
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:47:57Speaker 7: He figures that going deeper with soleidi her professionally, but
- 1:48:02Speaker 7: as far as her legacy, that's already established. And for
- 1:48:06Speaker 7: people saying quit, he says he's about to release his
- 1:48:09Speaker 7: at fifty five years old, on the thirtieth, he's releasing
- 1:48:13Speaker 7: his first album of music. He said he's still recording.
- 1:48:17Speaker 7: Uncle Charlie said for her ability and courage confidence to
- 1:48:22Speaker 7: make a return is already great, and so the return
- 1:48:27Speaker 7: would be successful if she can win and the w
- 1:48:31Speaker 7: the World Tennis Association loves it.
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: And then we had.
- 1:48:36Speaker 7: From Uncle Charlie. He said punishment, and he said, work
- 1:48:39Speaker 7: with me. At eight years old, I was trying to smoke.
- 1:48:42Speaker 7: My dad caught me and killed me. I was thirty
- 1:48:46Speaker 7: two years old before I tried it again and found
- 1:48:49Speaker 7: out it was not worth it and not healthy. So
- 1:48:52Speaker 7: I'm thinking in that spirit, he's saying, sometimes we don't
- 1:48:55Speaker 7: know what leads a person to punish a child in
- 1:48:58Speaker 7: a specific way. There may have been some people that
- 1:49:00Speaker 7: saw him get whooped and go, oh man, you should
- 1:49:03Speaker 7: be whooping a kid like that, But from eight to
- 1:49:06Speaker 7: thirty two is a gap and so the lesson was learned.
- 1:49:12Speaker 7: We have Jared Lloyd said, Earthwinded, Fire sos band and
- 1:49:17Speaker 7: loose Ends. Say Gillham wanted us to know that sweep
- 1:49:21Speaker 7: Back is the name of Shade's band, and then I
- 1:49:23Speaker 7: told him that that's actually three quarters of Shade's band
- 1:49:26Speaker 7: that's named sweep Back. She's not with the group, So
- 1:49:30Speaker 7: that's Shade. And freedom of convictions. When we are talking
- 1:49:36Speaker 7: about players being allowed to not support Pride night, Jared
- 1:49:43Speaker 7: Lloyd says, they altered the uniforms, which is not allowed.
- 1:49:46Speaker 7: So we really which is the major League Baseball stance.
- 1:49:49Speaker 7: We ain't mad at you because you don't support Pride.
- 1:49:52Speaker 7: We just don't like you touching the uniform once it's made,
- 1:49:55Speaker 7: so which kind of gives them.
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: Easy out.
- 1:49:59Speaker 22: And and.
- 1:50:02Speaker 7: Elder Casey wanted to know when it comes to that,
- 1:50:04Speaker 7: as a seasoned ticket holder, when it comes to theme nights,
- 1:50:07Speaker 7: do they have a voice and what do you say
- 1:50:10Speaker 7: to that?
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: No, they you can emails incumbents of Knights that you
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: don't appreciate. You can make your voice be heard. I
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: think they do take that into account and alter. Typically
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: they will add to try to satisfy what you like
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: and one thing I do notice, they'd stay away from
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: any kind of specific religion.
- 1:50:38Speaker 6: Night Right and our man Walter Eccleschef said, Angel is
- 1:50:42Speaker 6: a power forward slash center that traditional cut from that claw.
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: We'll be back more to sports Jock Joke right after this.
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: Don't Go Away Born of the.
- 1:51:01Speaker 10: Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gandy is comming up next.
- 1:51:07Speaker 12: When I smoke, I get lost in the music. I
- 1:51:11Speaker 12: like to isolate each instrument, the rhythmic bass, the harmonies
- 1:51:15Speaker 12: on the piano with sticky melody.
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: Than Hana.
- 1:51:22Speaker 20: Careful, babe, there's someone crossing the streets.
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: Sorry, I donsume it. If you feel different, you drive different.
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: Don't drive high. It's dangerous and illegal everywhere unless it's
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: from NITZA and the ad Council. And now back to
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: the Sports John Wayne Gandy. Now it's time for.
- 1:51:45Speaker 25: The school board when we put a spin on LFE
- 1:51:48Speaker 25: and sports and how they intermingle on the Sports Jack
- 1:51:53Speaker 25: Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: Welcome back to this what Shock Shun this war Shock
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: wing can tea. One thing happened the bad producer sent
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: me a story. I was already on it and I
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: appreciated the confirmation of him Uh, when he sent me,
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: uh the story about uh the fans being thrown out
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: of the golf tournament over the weekend. I found that
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: very interesting that when them Wyndham Clark winning his second
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: US Open title, but they were removing fans because of
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: the heckling, the taunting and heckling, and you can't heckle
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: on the golf course. Well as you know, going to
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: golf tournaments in the man's back swing, you know, And
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: it's not like sports. Everybody said, well they being solid
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: football games. We hauled basketball.
- 1:53:07Speaker 6: But in the sport of golf, which is a gentleman sport,
- 1:53:12Speaker 6: they apparently the New Yorkers who are very posters and
- 1:53:16Speaker 6: they love their sports. But when you when there's a favorite,
- 1:53:20Speaker 6: Scotti Schffler was a favorite, they want him to do the.
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: Complete cycle of winning all four majors.
- 1:53:28Speaker 6: It's at that time, but uh, there was a gentleman
- 1:53:31Speaker 6: that and several of them that was basically in his
- 1:53:34Speaker 6: back swing.
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: Hauling.
- 1:53:36Speaker 6: And then when he one time when he didn't reach
- 1:53:39Speaker 6: the green, they was all, oh yeah, yeah, you know
- 1:53:41Speaker 6: they was And it turned into a point where.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: Why don't why don't they like Wyndam Clark. I don't
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: think that they don't like Wyndom Clark. They love Scotti Scheffler.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: It was Scotty. No, I'm saying Scotty had a chance.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: He Scotti Schffler has came back before. They seen it.
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: When you see someone, it's like a tie if I
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: yell doing a particular players backhand.
- 1:54:06Speaker 6: I'm telling you was he just the closest competitor. Was
- 1:54:09Speaker 6: the closest competitors like, they didn't want him to win.
- 1:54:12Speaker 6: They wanted no, they wanted Scotti to win.
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: It was somebody else they would have yelled at him.
- 1:54:17Speaker 6: Well, we'll see, And I'm gonna tell you why they're
- 1:54:19Speaker 6: a little mad at Wyndom Clark too.
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: While he's not. He's a hot head.
- 1:54:22Speaker 6: Last year he busted up the locker room when he
- 1:54:25Speaker 6: didn't play well at Oakmone at the US Open. He
- 1:54:27Speaker 6: won the year before at the La Country Club.
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: He's been he's a temperatation. Well media and it's out there.
- 1:54:35Speaker 6: He's he throws temper tantrums when he was on the
- 1:54:38Speaker 6: last year, when he was at beth Page. That's why
- 1:54:40Speaker 6: the New Yorkers are on him right up in New Yorkers.
- 1:54:44Speaker 6: Is he acted a fool at the Roder Cup last year.
- 1:54:47Speaker 7: So the New Yorkers to beat the same people that
- 1:54:49Speaker 7: beat up San Antonio. Fans just for wearing san Antonio's jerseys.
- 1:54:53Speaker 7: Don't like that this man is spirited? Is that when
- 1:54:56Speaker 7: I'm here, That's what I'm here. But Scotti a fans
- 1:54:59Speaker 7: favorite right now.
- 1:55:00Speaker 6: Scotty Scheffler, he had a chance to do something that
- 1:55:03Speaker 6: only like eight or nine people have done, which is
- 1:55:05Speaker 6: to win all four majors as a complete completion. And
- 1:55:10Speaker 6: that's and it was his birthday yesterday, and that's what
- 1:55:12Speaker 6: the fans they wanted to see. But it was another
- 1:55:14Speaker 6: man's birthday, player Tom Kim. And even like I said,
- 1:55:18Speaker 6: I don't think the fans don't like Wyndam Clark because
- 1:55:21Speaker 6: Wyndham is a great player. I think it was just
- 1:55:23Speaker 6: that it was more or less that they wanted Scotty
- 1:55:26Speaker 6: and they came in with that mindset Scotty could come from.
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: He was five shots down. If you do something that
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: distrupt me because you want somebody else to win, means
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: you don't like me at that moment. How about that?
- 1:55:45Speaker 6: If I'm playing, if you want to competing, I don't
- 1:55:48Speaker 6: care if you don't like me yet it's the only moment.
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: I'm saying.
- 1:55:53Speaker 6: But I'm saying if you and Kenny out you're playing
- 1:55:55Speaker 6: one on one, I would be if I start heckling
- 1:55:58Speaker 6: Kenny and in the game and y'all playing, that means
- 1:56:02Speaker 6: at that moment, I'm pulling. Yeah, I'm pulling for you.
- 1:56:04Speaker 6: I don't want it. Don't mean I don't dislike Kenny.
- 1:56:07Speaker 6: I just want I'm pulling for you. I doubt that
- 1:56:10Speaker 6: if I'm playing and I see that you are throwing
- 1:56:14Speaker 6: stuff at me and yelling at me that I'm going
- 1:56:16Speaker 6: to give you an autograph on the.
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: Way out of the game, you can't then tell me
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: when you're just the guy that was throwing Oh man,
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: you cool, you just not as cool. Yeah. Yeah, that's
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: basically so, which you mean you don't like me? That's
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: that's that thought. That's what that meant. Florida is expanding
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: their gang member laws. Command you, Greg got asked about
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: that whole Nick Spurs thing to several people that we
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: were discussing, and I waited with you. I understand, well,
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: I asked. I went to some younger people and they
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: said that the law should expand too, because it's the
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: same difference. Remember, the gang. Put it on. Put it on.
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: Put it on the books. The gang. You're saying that
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: make it like a gangster. We were talking about the
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: hate when the Nigs fans beat up the Spurs because
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: he had on the jersey said that was gang activity.
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: Put it on the books.
- 1:57:15Speaker 8: But what about when they're fighting each other. That's not
- 1:57:18Speaker 8: It's not a thing now, but if you make it
- 1:57:21Speaker 8: that part of the law, all right, and we good?
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:57:25Speaker 6: Chick fil A has lost its number one rating for
- 1:57:29Speaker 6: quick service restaurants has been dethroned by Jersey Mikes. When
- 1:57:35Speaker 6: I read this story, I just didn't know if Jersey
- 1:57:37Speaker 6: Mike's actually gets enough traffic traffic to compare it for this.
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: Come on now, that's come on now, that's not You
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: never tore it down, the Jersey Mikes and had to
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: rebuild it because you was blocking off traffic from these
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: other people's business.
- 1:57:53Speaker 6: That's stopping Jersey Mike. I ain't fit, no, stop playing
- 1:57:56Speaker 6: in my face now, drive through.
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: And went to the city.
- 1:58:06Speaker 7: It's almost Atlanta to say, these people hating on me
- 1:58:10Speaker 7: because Burger King and Popeye started a petition to say
- 1:58:15Speaker 7: y'all so efficient and get so much business that is
- 1:58:18Speaker 7: blocking people from ordering chicken at my place. Chick fil
- 1:58:23Speaker 7: A has been through that in several locations in this
- 1:58:26Speaker 7: city alone. That's how successful they are. I don't think
- 1:58:30Speaker 7: Jersey Mics should.
- 1:58:32Speaker 6: Be equated with that type of volume because they don't
- 1:58:37Speaker 6: do that type of volume nowhere.
- 1:58:39Speaker 7: I'm convinced even that they're busy location, you got to
- 1:58:44Speaker 7: have a certain you got to meet a certain amount
- 1:58:46Speaker 7: of attempts. You can't be in the who won the
- 1:58:50Speaker 7: percentage for field goals with two attempts. They have a
- 1:58:55Speaker 7: minimum amount of time.
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: You can't.
- 1:58:57Speaker 6: And I kept thinking, Jersey Mike's that's like, and what's
- 1:59:00Speaker 6: that other one? That's another might sandwich is a day
- 1:59:08Speaker 6: customers Jimmy Johns. Yeah, I think Jimmy Johnson is a
- 1:59:12Speaker 6: little bit of fishing than the Jersey Mike.
- 1:59:15Speaker 7: And see everything is becoming like social media now with
- 1:59:18Speaker 7: the algorithms where you can pay and sponsor your business
- 1:59:22Speaker 7: popping to the top. So if I search for sandwiches,
- 1:59:26Speaker 7: Jersey Mics pop up, not because they the best and
- 1:59:28Speaker 7: most efficient, but because they've paid.
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: A search and we are in the ocean. The truth
- 1:59:37Speaker 1: is he will throw your in the ocean.
- 1:59:41Speaker 25: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports jug
- 1:59:44Speaker 25: Show with Wayney, we.

- 2:00:28Speaker 1: is going on. We still got about another month ago USA,
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: but interesting story. The Iranian coach left a message about
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: the unfair treatment his team has been receiving. Why engaged
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: in the World Cup here in the United States? Really
- 2:00:54Speaker 1: unfair treatment? Unfair treatment. Y'all still flogging people. Y'all still are.
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: It's against the law for same sex consensual relationships. Women
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: that are married and iran still have to have permission
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: from their husband to travel. You're marrying girls that are thirteen.
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: Pump the brakes. It's what I'm really trying to say.
- 2:01:30Speaker 1: You come here and think a little booing and hassle
- 2:01:34Speaker 1: at the airport, But in your country, y'all are still
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: hanging people for protesting. Don't think I missed the story
- 2:01:47Speaker 1: about two months ago when you hung the seventeen year
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: old because he disagreed with policy. Have any of you
- 2:01:57Speaker 1: seen a report that an Iranian soccer player got hung
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: here in the US. No, I have not seen that. OK.
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: It feels a lot like it though, where they be
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: acting feel a lot like it. So take that back
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: to Iran. I don't Maybe y'all should fix yourselves before
- 2:02:15Speaker 1: trying to get sympathy and let the gas through, trying
- 2:02:19Speaker 1: to get sympathy over here and put letters together to
- 2:02:25Speaker 1: condemn the US because you wanted good treatment. I don't know.
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: Y'all always want us to be the bigger person in
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: a country. Go look it up. I didn't make this up.
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: These are the rules of their country. They're giving death
- 2:02:43Speaker 1: penalty to people for the most We over here upset
- 2:02:47Speaker 1: for fifty dollars fines. Our fifty dollar fines is death penalty.
- 2:02:53Speaker 1: Y'all over here worried about the boot, you know all
- 2:02:58Speaker 1: y'all with the boot. I can't believe. I can't believe
- 2:03:01Speaker 1: they booting cars around here, man, I went in and there.
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: It's real invenience. It's reconvenience. I was just trying to
- 2:03:07Speaker 1: go to Jersey, Mike, that's all. It's not it's not
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: like hanging from a light pole with a news stuff.
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: But if you're in a rush, now rush, no rush, rushing.
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: We're in our country to go where I want to
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: be because I want to be there. And I guess
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: that's why they wrote the note, because they thought that
- 2:03:28Speaker 1: it was equal. Y'all fall but for the running team soccer.
- 2:03:33Speaker 3: Team, walk the plank.
- 2:03:47Speaker 1: A woman's testimony in court and I ran, it's only
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: valid if a man says it is, so she has
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: to go find another man to go to court with
- 2:03:59Speaker 1: her to say her testimony is true.
- 2:04:04Speaker 7: Dear FIFA, As I was sitting at the hanging this morning,
