- 0:18Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Gatesleepers, the pop culture game show
- 0:21Speaker 1: that shines a spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your
- 0:25Speaker 1: games master and two faced bear Matt Watson. I'm more
- 0:29Speaker 1: of a two face twink. Let's be honest. But a
- 0:32Speaker 1: GamesMaster needs games and games need players, so please welcome. First,
- 0:36Speaker 1: she is an actor, a podcaster, and a singer, which
- 0:40Speaker 1: makes them the ultimate performer.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's Caroline or Aweila, Hello, Hello, Hello, thanks for having me,
- 0:48Speaker 2: thanks for being here. And she is a podcaster, co
- 0:53Speaker 2: host of the Ultra Hope Girls, and a nurse, which
- 0:56Speaker 2: not only makes her better than all of us, it
- 0:59Speaker 2: makes her the ulti at medic It's Meren Holslanta.
- 1:03Speaker 3: It's all so nice, but no, we are all equal
- 1:06Speaker 3: and amazing.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Thank you for having me.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Thank you for joining us. But nurses are better people.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Welcome to the two. I guess like two thirds of
- 1:20Speaker 1: the original Ultra Hope Girls the current Ultra Hope Girls
- 1:24Speaker 1: as is in twenty twenty five. How are you both
- 1:26Speaker 1: doing good?
- 1:28Speaker 5: Just hanging out do it? Playing? Ace Attorney?
- 1:31Speaker 6: Nice?
- 1:32Speaker 5: And yeah, Maren, how are you doing doing greed?
- 1:34Speaker 3: I actually were about to go into our next Ace
- 1:38Speaker 3: Attorney game and I was able to play a little
- 1:40Speaker 3: bit more last night, which is very fun. And yeah,
- 1:43Speaker 3: we're doing well on this fine morning. Excellent, excellent. Yeah,
- 1:47Speaker 3: I do love these morning records. I've not got time
- 1:50Speaker 3: to have gotten depressed by the day yet. So Ultra
- 1:55Speaker 3: Hope Girls started as a Danga Rompa podcast, so that
- 1:59Speaker 3: you went through all of the Rumpa games, you were
- 2:01Speaker 3: heavily dangm romper. Now you cover other games of a
- 2:05Speaker 3: similar genre, of a similar vibe. But because it started
- 2:08Speaker 3: out as a dangn Rumpa podcast, I'm going to assume
- 2:11Speaker 3: you're both pretty big fans of Dangan Rumpa, are you?
- 2:14Speaker 6: Hmmm?
- 2:15Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I always say like if you spend like four years
- 2:21Speaker 3: talking about it on a podcast, like then you're like
- 2:23Speaker 3: a super fan.
- 2:24Speaker 4: But you know three in below that's like trump change.
- 2:28Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 2:31Speaker 4: A big fan. Yeah, we love.
- 2:35Speaker 6: Thank you. Yes, that is good to hear.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Is I've got to ask up top Is fangn rumper
- 2:40Speaker 1: a term for like the fans of dang rump or
- 2:43Speaker 1: is that a thing?
- 2:43Speaker 4: I think that's the term for fan games of dang Yes.
- 2:47Speaker 5: That's what I was.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Okay, interesting Okay, that is a term I just want.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I thought of it, and I was like, that's too
- 2:52Speaker 1: good to not already be a thing in the fandom.
- 2:54Speaker 7: Yeah, fangin rompa not necessarily, but fangan is like the
- 2:59Speaker 7: term for like fan games.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Okay, number yeah, okay, good to know. I'm learning new
- 3:06Speaker 1: things constantly. So yeah, thank you, thank you for joining us.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm sure you'll be a great team, but you will
- 3:12Speaker 1: need some opponents, so let's meet them. He is a podcaster,
- 3:16Speaker 1: a fellow games master, and an author, which makes him
- 3:19Speaker 1: the ultimate novelist. It's Aaron Randolph.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Wow, one of these things is not like the others.
- 3:29Speaker 4: I consider myself an unofficial and honorary ultra Hope girl personally.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Okay, nice, nice, that is I suppose that is the
- 3:37Speaker 1: one thing that's not like the other. Because your teammate
- 3:40Speaker 1: she is a podcast host and neuroscientist, which not only
- 3:43Speaker 1: makes her smarter than all of us, it makes her
- 3:46Speaker 1: the ultimate brain genius.
- 3:48Speaker 6: It's Mad Solo.
- 3:51Speaker 7: Wow, my goodness, that age like milk.
- 3:57Speaker 6: Wait, are you not the ultimate brain genius anymore?
- 4:01Speaker 8: I mean, like, so, I was a psych major in
- 4:06Speaker 8: like I in undergrad I double majored in psychology and biology,
- 4:09Speaker 8: and I wanted to go into neuroscience. And then I
- 4:11Speaker 8: totally pivoted and was like, never mind, I don't want
- 4:14Speaker 8: to be a researcher. I don't want to be a psychologist.
- 4:17Speaker 5: And now I'm.
- 4:18Speaker 8: In a physician assistant school, so doing all kinds of
- 4:24Speaker 8: medical things and I'll see what field I end up.
- 4:27Speaker 8: Maybe I'll end up in neurology or neurosurgery, maybe not,
- 4:32Speaker 8: we'll see.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and joining like the realm of physician. That also
- 4:36Speaker 1: makes you smart and better than everyone else, so it's
- 4:38Speaker 1: like you get the best of.
- 4:41Speaker 5: She's still true. Yeah, I don't know about that's true,
- 4:46Speaker 5: but thank you.
- 4:49Speaker 4: We don't need to rank people. And I'm not saying
- 4:51Speaker 4: that because I would lose.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Thanks for thanks for joining us, Maddie. I I'm sure
- 5:00Speaker 1: that's a way to phrase this, but it is it
- 5:03Speaker 1: fant to say you're Caroline and Maren's third in podcasting?
- 5:06Speaker 5: I think so?
- 5:08Speaker 8: Yeah, Because so I'm not active consistently with the podcast anymore.
- 5:13Speaker 8: I am in grad school, which is a lot. I
- 5:17Speaker 8: spend a lot of time studying, so I can't quite dedicate,
- 5:20Speaker 8: and my schedule is also really erratic, so I can't
- 5:22Speaker 8: quite dedicate the podcast.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Time that I used to be able to.
- 5:26Speaker 8: But we did start the Ultra Hope Girls together, the
- 5:29Speaker 8: three of us. We ran strong for four years, you know,
- 5:32Speaker 8: talked about all the games, and then I split off
- 5:37Speaker 8: once it was once we kind of rounded out all
- 5:39Speaker 8: the Donkin Rampa content, and then Carolina and Maren are
- 5:42Speaker 8: still going strong with some other games, and I've been
- 5:44Speaker 8: on one or two episodes every now and then I
- 5:47Speaker 8: might make an appearance. And I'm actually playing Ace Attorney
- 5:50Speaker 8: right now as well, because I'm trying to like still
- 5:52Speaker 8: be able to keep up with them and listen to
- 5:54Speaker 8: the podcast and talk about the games. But but yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 8: I'm not a regular member of the podcast anymore.
- 6:02Speaker 3: To be clear, she will always be an Ultra Hope Girl, right, yes, yes,
- 6:06Speaker 3: thank you, thank you, Yes, permanent title.
- 6:09Speaker 1: And I am absolutely honored to be joined by all
- 6:12Speaker 1: three of the Ultra Hope Girls, and I guess an
- 6:14Speaker 1: honorary Ultra Hope Girl as well. Uh for for this
- 6:17Speaker 1: for Dangan Rumpa. Like Maddie, I assume you're also a
- 6:20Speaker 1: massive fan.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I yes, obsessed. I actually here.
- 6:25Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 6:25Speaker 8: I don't want to mess with the recorder or anything.
- 6:27Speaker 8: But if I carefully turn my computer, you can see
- 6:30Speaker 8: my three dog and Rampa posters on the wall.
- 6:33Speaker 6: Nice of my.
- 6:34Speaker 8: Three favorite characters. So it's for the listeners, it's Kyoko,
- 6:38Speaker 8: Gundam and Showiji.
- 6:41Speaker 6: Nice.
- 6:42Speaker 1: There we go, And the dang Rampa fans listening know
- 6:44Speaker 1: exactly who you mean, and everyone else who's just tuning
- 6:47Speaker 1: in for a good time is like, okay, good stuff,
- 6:54Speaker 1: thank you, thank you for joining us. Maddie and Aaron,
- 6:56Speaker 1: thank you. You're you're wearing a Mona Kuma hats right now,
- 7:00Speaker 1: so I assume you're also a fan.
- 7:03Speaker 4: I am, and I was today years old when I
- 7:05Speaker 4: learned to could flap its ears by pulling on the blogs.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Ahrank you, I'm just I'm over the moon. Yeah I know,
- 7:14Speaker 4: I'm I'm a pretty big fan. I came into danging
- 7:18Speaker 4: room but pretty late, but like all the games were
- 7:21Speaker 4: already out. But when I ran out, I was like,
- 7:24Speaker 4: I need something more. And I came across the Altar
- 7:27Speaker 4: Hope girls and just absolutely fell in love with their
- 7:30Speaker 4: podcast and just joined their community as soon as I could,
- 7:34Speaker 4: and it's been uphill ever since.
- 7:38Speaker 6: Nice word.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Yeah you know, I'm a pretty big fan. I can't say,
- 7:43Speaker 4: and I won't say that I'm any bigger a fan
- 7:46Speaker 4: than these ladies. I will just do my best to
- 7:48Speaker 4: try and keep up.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and we'll see if you can with these these
- 7:52Speaker 1: games and challenges we've got today, and we'll see if
- 7:54Speaker 1: I've made them remotely accurate. After learning about this pretty
- 7:58Speaker 1: expansive fandom in about forty days.
- 8:02Speaker 5: Wow, that is.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Recent.
- 8:07Speaker 1: My primary source is at your podcast, So we'll see
- 8:10Speaker 1: how this goes. This could just be regurgitating things back
- 8:13Speaker 1: at you that you've said over the last four years.
- 8:15Speaker 5: We love it.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Okay, Teams, you've just arrived at your perfectly normal high school.
- 8:20Speaker 1: And my goodness, that bear looks so cute. Oh he
- 8:24Speaker 1: can talk and he's the head master. Also, he's demanding
- 8:27Speaker 1: that each pair comes up with a dank and romper
- 8:29Speaker 1: themed team name for the entrance ceremony. Better listen to
- 8:32Speaker 1: the guy. He looks half mad. Let's start with Caroline
- 8:36Speaker 1: and Maren. Do you have any team name ideas for today?
- 8:40Speaker 5: Maren, you're nodding.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I did. I thought of one. I'm very open
- 8:47Speaker 3: to our brain. Serene Powers, it's punishment time.
- 8:57Speaker 7: I don't think I can do better than It's punishment Time.
- 9:01Speaker 6: That's fantastic.
- 9:03Speaker 5: Thank you, so best.
- 9:05Speaker 7: Team name I've ever been part of on gate Leapers.
- 9:08Speaker 7: I'm just gonna say it.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't argue with that, mainly because I can't
- 9:11Speaker 1: remember them off the top of my head.
- 9:13Speaker 6: But it was also great. It's punishment time.
- 9:16Speaker 1: It sweet and let's uh, let's find out who It's
- 9:19Speaker 1: funishment time will be facing Aaron Mattie, if you got
- 9:22Speaker 1: any ideas well?
- 9:24Speaker 4: The only idea I came up with only because I
- 9:29Speaker 4: know we are both pretty big supporters of the l
- 9:32Speaker 4: g B t Q community. I was thinking maybe poly Kuma.
- 9:40Speaker 6: I like that, Clive would play happening there. I appreciate it.
- 9:49Speaker 4: And white, but I don't know, Matty, if you had
- 9:51Speaker 4: any other ideas.
- 9:52Speaker 8: Honestly I don't, so I'm glad that you had one,
- 9:54Speaker 8: and I like it, so let's go with it.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Polycuma Polyculma.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Sorry, that is sort of a hat on a hat,
- 10:08Speaker 1: but I also like it. Do you want Polycuma?
- 10:12Speaker 6: Okay? Why not?
- 10:13Speaker 1: Yeah, polyculma it makes less sense to therefore.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think either one of us are involved
- 10:21Speaker 4: in a Polycule, but okay, not as I support them.
- 10:27Speaker 4: I support them and support them.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yes, you know, look there's still life. There's plenty of
- 10:33Speaker 1: life left. You never know what's going to happen in
- 10:34Speaker 1: the future. Perfect, Okay, we've got its punishment time versus Polygulma.
- 10:46Speaker 6: Yeah, that's nonsense.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I love it.
- 10:49Speaker 6: All right.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And if you're listening to this and thinking, I don't
- 10:53Speaker 1: know who this Dan guy is, but he sounds like
- 10:55Speaker 1: he's gonna be a rump lovely ten. Yeah, that got
- 11:02Speaker 1: the reaction I wanted. Uh, don't worry. Hey's odra whoa.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Friming Wow.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I was once with a segment we like to call
- 11:15Speaker 1: passing knowledge Absolute Gone.
- 11:19Speaker 6: Dengan Rumpa is a Japanese video game franchise created by
- 11:22Speaker 6: Kazutaka Kodaka and owned by Spike chunt Soft. The series
- 11:27Speaker 6: focuses on groups of apparent high school students who are
- 11:30Speaker 6: forced into murdering each other by a robotic teddy bear
- 11:33Speaker 6: named Mana Kuma. I mean, I've only been to build
- 11:37Speaker 6: a bear like twice, but I definitely do not remember
- 11:41Speaker 6: the homicidal maniac add on the first game. Dangan Rumpa
- 11:46Speaker 6: Trigger Happy Havoc was released for the PlayStation portable in
- 11:49Speaker 6: twenty ten. With the most recent installation in the franchise
- 11:53Speaker 6: being in twenty twenty one. The gameplay is a mixture
- 11:56Speaker 6: of adventure, visual novel, murder, mystery, detective, and dating simulator elements.
- 12:03Speaker 6: It's kind of like those glorious five days when Luigi
- 12:06Speaker 6: was on the run. Good the response I wanted. The
- 12:17Speaker 6: series has received a bit of criticism for its dark
- 12:20Speaker 6: premise and violent execution sequences. They're right, it's definitely not
- 12:25Speaker 6: for young kids or old kids. Are honestly women in
- 12:29Speaker 6: their thirties if they're feeling emotionally vulnerable. Fans of the
- 12:34Speaker 6: series love the creative characters, engaging stories and challenging logic puzzles.
- 12:40Speaker 6: They keep coming back for the fact that regardless of
- 12:42Speaker 6: how dark things get, there's always hope if you keep fighting. Right,
- 12:47Speaker 6: Please tell me that's still true in the real world. AnyWho,
- 12:52Speaker 6: You've had enough time to investigate. Now make your way
- 12:54Speaker 6: through the creepy red doors at the end of the hallway.
- 12:57Speaker 6: It's time to play Fandemonium.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Yes, thank you, Ordra, and your timing was impeccable as well,
- 13:05Speaker 1: by the way, than just appearing here, thank you. Thanks
- 13:08Speaker 1: for teaching us all about Danken rumpa. Would you also
- 13:10Speaker 1: mind sticking around and helping with like the scores and
- 13:13Speaker 1: the games and stuff, so I've got one less thing
- 13:15Speaker 1: to worry about.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Would love to Okay, I would love to thank you
- 13:20Speaker 2: so much.
- 13:20Speaker 6: Just call me the Ultimate Administrative Assistant.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Perfect, You've got it, that's your title. Oh and just
- 13:26Speaker 1: can we shake hands professionally, like we've made an agreement
- 13:29Speaker 1: just to the Internet doesn't label me as a wife guy.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Business?
- 13:33Speaker 4: Would you not want to be labeled as a wife guy?
- 13:36Speaker 1: It's a bad rap in some corners of the internets,
- 13:38Speaker 1: you know.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Yeah, not any corner I'd like to be in.
- 13:43Speaker 6: Stand on my own. I just don't. I don't want
- 13:45Speaker 6: to be Matt's wife.
- 13:47Speaker 4: That's fair. I want to independent woman.
- 13:50Speaker 6: I don't.
- 13:52Speaker 4: I respect that.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, Well, now that the definition of that is decided,
- 13:56Speaker 1: And just before we get to today's games, I've asked
- 13:58Speaker 1: each player to bring in a use something that inspires
- 14:01Speaker 1: them or something they love from this particular fandom. Dann
- 14:05Speaker 1: Rompa is inspiring to me because it normalizes the idea
- 14:08Speaker 1: of gathering groups of people in a room to play games.
- 14:11Speaker 1: That is crucial for me. So Caroline will start with
- 14:15Speaker 1: you what's inspiring you from the world of dan Gun Rompa.
- 14:18Speaker 7: I was thinking about this this morning before we came on,
- 14:22Speaker 7: and I couldn't narrow it down because almost every aspect
- 14:27Speaker 7: of how my life is today not to be like dramatic,
- 14:32Speaker 7: all comes back to Donan Rompa. Because I reconnected with
- 14:37Speaker 7: my two best friends over this game series. I mean,
- 14:40Speaker 7: that's like in their you know, constance in my life still,
- 14:44Speaker 7: and I literally wanted to become a voice actor after
- 14:49Speaker 7: starting our podcast like that, talking to other voice over
- 14:53Speaker 7: actors and getting to hear their performances in the game
- 14:56Speaker 7: and really thinking about it from like an acting point
- 14:59Speaker 7: of view is what made me want to start voice acting,
- 15:01Speaker 7: to the point where now when I like narrate audio books,
- 15:05Speaker 7: I will like assign the different character voices in a
- 15:10Speaker 7: spreadsheet to a don in room book character so that
- 15:13Speaker 7: I remember the voice I'm using for that weird minor
- 15:17Speaker 7: character in the audiobook that only appears in like three chapters.
- 15:22Speaker 7: So like, I literally use it still as like a
- 15:25Speaker 7: tool to like have an anchor to like for different
- 15:28Speaker 7: voices I'm working with and collaborating with voice actors from
- 15:32Speaker 7: the game. I can't believe I'm in a position that
- 15:35Speaker 7: I'm able to say that. So it's like everything. And
- 15:38Speaker 7: even the first project I auditioned for was a Don
- 15:40Speaker 7: and Rompa fan game, So it's like voice acting and
- 15:45Speaker 7: the actors' performances are always the thing that I come
- 15:48Speaker 7: back to with Don and Rompa because I just adore
- 15:52Speaker 7: the characters and they really come to life through the
- 15:54Speaker 7: voice acting.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that is so good, A literal muse like this.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Yeah, every day I think about Dog.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Because yeah, you know, those voices inspire you. You end
- 16:07Speaker 1: up had fantastic voice rolls off the back of just
- 16:10Speaker 1: like having conversations with the voice actors in Dangon Rompa. Yeah,
- 16:13Speaker 1: that's that's amazing. And what this segment is intended for,
- 16:18Speaker 1: I think is to show how it's inspired you. I
- 16:20Speaker 1: mean most most of the times people just say, oh,
- 16:23Speaker 1: here's a funny little joke. But that's that's actually amazing.
- 16:25Speaker 1: That's properly inspiring.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Thank you, my whole career. I love it.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Yeah, oh thanks Caroline, Yeah, of course. Okay, let's let's
- 16:34Speaker 1: check in with your it's funishment time, teammate, Caroline Marion.
- 16:38Speaker 1: What's inspiring you about Dangan Rompa?
- 16:40Speaker 4: Yeah? I mine is also not really a joke.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I could come up with one, but it is there
- 16:47Speaker 3: are a lot of very like deep meanings hidden behind
- 16:51Speaker 3: this game, which, like like Andrew said, it's very like
- 16:56Speaker 3: a silly premise for a game. It is about murderous
- 17:00Speaker 3: bear and kids in a school, and like, that's weird,
- 17:03Speaker 3: that's strange. But there's a lot of kind of deeper
- 17:06Speaker 3: meanings that go alongside the game. And one that always
- 17:09Speaker 3: stuck with me. And I'll do my best not to
- 17:11Speaker 3: spoil anything for anyone who has not played, but there's
- 17:15Speaker 3: a character who everyone forgets at some point, and that
- 17:21Speaker 3: character still manages to impact the group. And I think
- 17:25Speaker 3: that that is a very like lovely life lesson where
- 17:29Speaker 3: even if you don't even if you're not remembered by
- 17:31Speaker 3: people like you make an impact on people along the way,
- 17:34Speaker 3: and like what you do matters. Yeah, that's always stuck
- 17:38Speaker 3: with me. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's great. That's a great
- 17:41Speaker 3: life lesson. You're absolutely right, the game is absolutely right. Yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 3: what you do matter is that's such a big thing.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I've got no wisdom to heap upon that because it
- 17:49Speaker 3: already is wisdom. Thank you, Aron, that's thank you so
- 17:55Speaker 3: much for sharing your muse let's move on over to
- 17:58Speaker 3: a pullyque.
- 18:01Speaker 1: That makes sense. Yes, Maddie. What's inspiring you from Dang
- 18:05Speaker 1: Gram Rompa?
- 18:06Speaker 8: Oh gosh, I mean so many things. I definitely concur
- 18:10Speaker 8: with Caroline about the fact, just the fact that this
- 18:13Speaker 8: game is what brought the three of us back together,
- 18:16Speaker 8: you know, after we had graduated high school and kind
- 18:19Speaker 8: of gone our separate ways and still kind of stayed
- 18:21Speaker 8: in touch. But then, you know, once we started talking
- 18:24Speaker 8: about this game, and really, like when we started the
- 18:27Speaker 8: podcast and we were like talking to each other, the
- 18:29Speaker 8: three of us like every day, it was just such
- 18:31Speaker 8: a like such an amazing, like just way to reconnect.
- 18:35Speaker 8: And that was also during the like during the throes
- 18:38Speaker 8: of the pandemic early on, when we were all like
- 18:41Speaker 8: stuck in our houses and you know, like so that
- 18:44Speaker 8: that was a great way to stay social from far
- 18:48Speaker 8: away and just was an enormous source of joy in
- 18:53Speaker 8: that time.
- 18:54Speaker 5: But also, like so don G.
- 18:56Speaker 8: And Rompa definitely has like a little bit of like
- 18:59Speaker 8: a Lord of the Fly is kind of vibe to
- 19:01Speaker 8: it at times in terms of Okay, you take all
- 19:04Speaker 8: these kids and you put them in this situation and
- 19:06Speaker 8: you you know, make it like life or death, and
- 19:08Speaker 8: you stress them out and you you know whatever, and
- 19:10Speaker 8: you make them turn against each other that bad things
- 19:13Speaker 8: are going to happen, right like obviously done your a.
- 19:16Speaker 8: It's a murder mystery game, so we know people die,
- 19:19Speaker 8: so not everyone, my god spoilers, not everyone behaves themselves.
- 19:26Speaker 8: But in every game, regardless of all the chaos and
- 19:30Speaker 8: death and destruction and pressure that's being put on them
- 19:32Speaker 8: to kill, they always end up, at least some of
- 19:36Speaker 8: them always end up finding some source of hope and
- 19:38Speaker 8: finding some reason to trust each other, to work together
- 19:43Speaker 8: to you know, refuse to give in to the fear
- 19:47Speaker 8: and the despair and the mistrust and everything. And I
- 19:50Speaker 8: just think that that's like a huge I think that's
- 19:53Speaker 8: huge because you know, you can look at the human
- 19:57Speaker 8: You could look at human nature and be like, oh, well,
- 20:00Speaker 8: people are evil people this like you know, people are
- 20:04Speaker 8: prone to chaos, people are selfish. You know, you have
- 20:07Speaker 8: you can have all these kinds of arguments from all
- 20:09Speaker 8: these like philosophers or whatever about how evil inherently evil
- 20:14Speaker 8: humans are. But you can also find so many examples
- 20:18Speaker 8: of even within chaos and even within horrible, horrible circumstances
- 20:24Speaker 8: and horrible times, you can find so many examples of
- 20:26Speaker 8: hope and you know, people having faith, faith in each
- 20:29Speaker 8: other and working for the greater good and resisting those
- 20:33Speaker 8: outside forces that are trying to, you know, push them
- 20:36Speaker 8: in that direction. And I think I think that that's huge.
- 20:40Speaker 8: I think that's important, and I think that that is
- 20:44Speaker 8: itself a type of hope that is very important, Yes,
- 20:50Speaker 8: especially in these trying times.
- 20:52Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 20:55Speaker 1: That was the sense I got from from the series,
- 20:58Speaker 1: is that, like, obviously hope is the key theme, but
- 21:00Speaker 1: also it's that like, what's that other phrase about, like
- 21:04Speaker 1: the darkness only exists because of light kind of thing, Like,
- 21:07Speaker 1: so it's like the glimmer of light is always going
- 21:09Speaker 1: to be there no matter how much darkness there is,
- 21:12Speaker 1: butcher at that, but whatever. It's yeah, it's it's just
- 21:17Speaker 1: it's such a good concept to be the underlying theme
- 21:20Speaker 1: of a game that is ultimately despair, despair, despair. And
- 21:24Speaker 1: also you're just to touch on it. Your trio's friendship
- 21:26Speaker 1: is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with the world
- 21:30Speaker 1: via your podcast.
- 21:31Speaker 6: Keep that up.
- 21:32Speaker 1: That's great, You're winning life with that, and yeah, thank
- 21:36Speaker 1: you for that, beautiful muse Maddie. Last, but not least
- 21:39Speaker 1: we come to aaron what's inspiring you from Dann.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Like Caroline, I have been blessed that I can blame
- 21:54Speaker 4: or thank Danie Rompa for changing my life in a
- 21:57Speaker 4: very profound way. I'm very fortunate because I didn't have
- 22:03Speaker 4: to bring my muse to the show. My muses are
- 22:06Speaker 4: already here. They're the Ultra Hope girls themselves. When I
- 22:11Speaker 4: found their podcast, I was just looking for more Dang
- 22:14Speaker 4: and Rompa content. I did not expect to have my
- 22:18Speaker 4: life change so positively and revocably. I meekly sought to
- 22:24Speaker 4: join their community, and as a forty year old man
- 22:28Speaker 4: approaching a group of twenty year old women, I admit
- 22:32Speaker 4: to some amount of trepidation, but they welcomed me with
- 22:37Speaker 4: open arms and open minds. Since then, they've inspired me
- 22:42Speaker 4: in countless ways, not least of which is to write
- 22:47Speaker 4: and publish two novels with a third on the way.
- 22:52Speaker 4: I look up to and admire these women, and I
- 22:55Speaker 4: wish I were more like them. Maren's formidable courage and
- 22:59Speaker 4: her ability to lead without ever sacrificing joy or kindness.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Maddie's gentle grace and thirst for knowledge without displaying a
- 23:08Speaker 4: single iota of arrogance or intellectual snobbery, and Caroline's loving
- 23:13Speaker 4: heart an immense talent. Without ever putting those around her down,
- 23:17Speaker 4: she seeks to elevate them instead. These women are heroes
- 23:22Speaker 4: of mine, and I do not say that lightly. That's
- 23:25Speaker 4: not to say that our relationship has constantly been smooth sailing.
- 23:29Speaker 4: For example, in two separate games that I devised and ran,
- 23:33Speaker 4: Maddie has been voted the villain despite being entirely innocent.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Classic Maddie. I just got one of those faces.
- 23:46Speaker 3: You know.
- 23:49Speaker 4: I just hope I'm not giving her a complex. I
- 23:51Speaker 4: can only hope to make it up to her in
- 23:53Speaker 4: the end. I am boundlessly lucky that I am a
- 23:57Speaker 4: part of their incredibly wholesome and uplifting community. But I
- 24:01Speaker 4: hit the absolute jackpot of life that they call me
- 24:05Speaker 4: their friend. Oh that's beautiful, like tearing up.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I know, I know what you expect to get emotional.
- 24:11Speaker 6: I've also written a novel. The whole novel is I'm crying,
- 24:15Speaker 6: you fucking asshole.
- 24:18Speaker 4: That I've written. Is that for sale? I'm sorry? Yeah?
- 24:24Speaker 5: Good?
- 24:24Speaker 6: What's are sold? You?
- 24:25Speaker 4: You asked me about what inspired me about Dangane Roe,
- 24:27Speaker 4: But there could only ever be one answer.
- 24:30Speaker 5: We love you too.
- 24:31Speaker 7: I just want to like give that return that because yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 7: I mean you know how much I know. Yeah, yeah, Yeah,
- 24:41Speaker 7: this is so beautiful.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I mean, this is a great time to say check
- 24:46Speaker 1: out the Ultra Hope Girls podcast. This is the sense
- 24:48Speaker 1: of community that you could be enjoying. Yeah, and also
- 24:52Speaker 1: I can't wait to turn you all against each other
- 24:54Speaker 1: into a series of naturally yeahs. Okay, let's gather our
- 25:06Speaker 1: chairs into a circle for no reason, no reason at all,
- 25:10Speaker 1: as we plummet into the pits of despair aka round one. Okay,
- 25:19Speaker 1: Round one is called game of death. In turn, I
- 25:23Speaker 1: will give our teams a way in which a character
- 25:25Speaker 1: was executed in the Dangam Rompa series. They must then
- 25:29Speaker 1: deliberate and decide if it's true and happened as described
- 25:33Speaker 1: or false and all the details don't quite add up,
- 25:37Speaker 1: plus whether it's true or false, right or wrong. I
- 25:40Speaker 1: will offer a bonus point if our teams can name
- 25:43Speaker 1: the victim in question in the scenario, so we will
- 25:49Speaker 1: begin with its punishment time. Here is your first scenario.
- 25:53Speaker 1: You are tied to a motorcycle and driven inside a
- 25:56Speaker 1: spherical cage after becoming dizzy from the high speed loops.
- 26:00Speaker 1: The cage is electrified, and you are turned into butter.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Did that happen or did it not?
- 26:08Speaker 5: But tied to the motorcycle.
- 26:11Speaker 6: I don't know, I.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Think so Yeah, Yeah, all of that sounds correct. There's
- 26:18Speaker 3: nothing weird about being turned into butter. Yeah, that checks out. Yeah, Caroline,
- 26:24Speaker 3: do you want to say the name of this gentleman?
- 26:27Speaker 7: Oh? Yes, And this execution is for none other than
- 26:31Speaker 7: the ultimate biker gang leader, Mando Awaa.
- 26:36Speaker 1: That is correct for two points.
- 26:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I think the changes I'll make to the ones that
- 26:40Speaker 1: are changed are a bit slightly bigger than Oh. Is
- 26:43Speaker 1: the type of strap the same thing? Hopefully I've not
- 26:46Speaker 1: gone that specific with it. But that absolutely is correct.
- 26:49Speaker 1: And Kaida shows right off the bat for anyone who
- 26:51Speaker 1: has no idea about dangon Rompa, this is how weirdly
- 26:54Speaker 1: cartoonishly violent it is. Okay, correct, Okay, moving on over polyculma.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to look at that one every time
- 27:03Speaker 1: because it's a brand new word. Your scenario, your execution
- 27:08Speaker 1: is thus, you are restrained to a school desk and
- 27:12Speaker 1: placed on a conveyor belt. Slowly, you move backwards into
- 27:16Speaker 1: two giant circular souls that slice you to pieces.
- 27:20Speaker 4: That's so did not happen.
- 27:23Speaker 8: I do not believe so, because so in the first game.
- 27:27Speaker 5: Obviously this is spoilers.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Well there's it's interesting because there's a there's a bad ending.
- 27:32Speaker 4: You can get spoilers. Obviously, it's it's gonna happen for it.
- 27:36Speaker 4: What happens to u Kyoko isn't saws, you know, a
- 27:40Speaker 4: giant it's not.
- 27:41Speaker 5: It's it's the wall like dropping.
- 27:43Speaker 6: She gets crushed.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, same thing almost happens to Makoto and the
- 27:48Speaker 4: good ending of that. A whole massive things happened to
- 27:52Speaker 4: Junko at one point. I do know that she was
- 27:56Speaker 4: tied to a school dirt. No, I don't think she
- 27:58Speaker 4: was tied to the desk in her and I think
- 27:59Speaker 4: she was just sitting in it. But yeah, because she
- 28:02Speaker 4: wants I don't think this happened to anyone. Yeah, you're
- 28:07Speaker 4: saying false.
- 28:08Speaker 5: I agree.
- 28:09Speaker 4: We we both say this didn't happen.
- 28:11Speaker 1: It didn't happen. Yes, it was the crushing. It was
- 28:14Speaker 1: tied to a school desk and then the crushing mallet
- 28:17Speaker 1: or block or whatever a crushing machine is, and not
- 28:19Speaker 1: a slicing machine. And I think you said the name
- 28:23Speaker 1: of one of the characters involved in this scenario.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Well, like I said, it happened three times, so yeah,
- 28:29Speaker 4: you have to be a little bit more specific. But
- 28:34Speaker 4: it could have happened to Kyoko, could have happened to
- 28:37Speaker 4: Makodo but didn't, and it all sorts of happened to Djunko.
- 28:43Speaker 5: It did happen to k and Oshima.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, yeah, I've got those names written down here.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Kyoko was the main one I had written, but all
- 28:50Speaker 1: options correct. There's two points lovely stuff.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I like to think of it as a hydraulic press.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Oh that's what it is, just.
- 29:03Speaker 7: Three dog and Rumpo was doing hydraulic press before it
- 29:08Speaker 7: was even a TikTok Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, back on over to its punishment time.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Here is your next lovely execution. You are tied to
- 29:18Speaker 1: a post in the middle of a wild West town.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Mona Kuma pulls out a varmint rifle and shoots a
- 29:24Speaker 1: robotic wasp at you. This repeats until a giant wasp
- 29:28Speaker 1: violently bursts out of your stomach, killing you.
- 29:33Speaker 4: That's how I remember it does.
- 29:36Speaker 7: The the wasp burst out of Gunta's stomach or is
- 29:40Speaker 7: it just the like mana mano fany giving birth stomach burst.
- 29:49Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought she gave birth to the wasp and
- 29:55Speaker 3: then it like stung him. Is that crazy in his stomach?
- 30:01Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 30:03Speaker 4: It's definitely going.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Yeah, we know.
- 30:08Speaker 7: I just like it's funny when when I knew this
- 30:11Speaker 7: was a game, I was like, man, this is the execution.
- 30:14Speaker 7: I was thinking that I knew the least. It's definitely
- 30:18Speaker 7: wild West themed. He's definitely tied to a poll. Those
- 30:22Speaker 7: are all true. Yeah, I just don't know if the
- 30:25Speaker 7: bug comes out of his stomach or not.
- 30:28Speaker 4: I don't think it does. I think it. I think
- 30:31Speaker 4: it's monophyny.
- 30:32Speaker 5: I think you're right, Okay, I think so. Then this is.
- 30:35Speaker 3: She's the bear that dies with the execution from the three.
- 30:40Speaker 5: So we're saying this is not how it happened.
- 30:44Speaker 1: And you are absolutely right for the exact reason. I
- 30:48Speaker 1: also switched it from pistol to vomit rifle, just in
- 30:51Speaker 1: case the other thing was a bit confusing.
- 30:55Speaker 7: We know our bug berths here, girls.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Yeah, just one of those common media tropes that you're
- 31:01Speaker 1: just experts on, right, bug bird, So did you mention
- 31:07Speaker 1: the name as well of who's in question there.
- 31:09Speaker 5: Aaron, would you like to do the honors?
- 31:12Speaker 4: Who would be honored to be redundant? Yes? Gone to Gokukhara.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Absolutely, two points there as well. Excellent stuff. I'm gonna
- 31:23Speaker 1: have to trip one of these teams up eventually in
- 31:26Speaker 1: this round. Let's see if it's this next one for Polykulma.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Here is your scenario tied to a wooden post and
- 31:33Speaker 1: burned at the stake, but just before you die, a
- 31:36Speaker 1: fire truck arrives to drive through you. It's eighty kilometers
- 31:39Speaker 1: an hour.
- 31:40Speaker 4: Yeah, that all rings true to me.
- 31:43Speaker 8: Yes, Yeah, I'm trying to say I don't think there
- 31:46Speaker 8: are any contradictions in that.
- 31:48Speaker 5: Yeah, are we going with yes, Aaron?
- 31:50Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, I feel like that's one hundred percent accurate.
- 31:53Speaker 6: Yep, that is indeed acurate.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Celes, it is Coyasa hero nice.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Okay, I don't hand out more extra bonus points, but
- 32:09Speaker 1: I wish I did. That was fantastic.
- 32:11Speaker 7: We have no life, and I'm just kidding.
- 32:16Speaker 3: All of these things that you're saying, they just like
- 32:18Speaker 3: instantly like start to play out.
- 32:23Speaker 7: Our two years of COVID life was just wake up
- 32:26Speaker 7: and eat, breathe, sleep, dong in ra poop.
- 32:29Speaker 5: Also, I was a lobe of my brain that is.
- 32:37Speaker 6: Yes, Oh brilliant.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Okay, I mean, look, both teams have four out of
- 32:43Speaker 1: four points. Maybe this is going to be a full
- 32:47Speaker 1: A full house. What's the term a full pass? I
- 32:49Speaker 1: don't know.
- 32:50Speaker 6: Celestia would know, Celestia would know.
- 32:52Speaker 5: Hell.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Okay, back on over to its punishment time. Here's your
- 32:57Speaker 1: next execution scenario. It's a lot of getting tied to
- 33:00Speaker 1: poles and posts. In this you are tied to a
- 33:02Speaker 1: pole on a beach. Mona Kuma pilots a fighter jet,
- 33:06Speaker 1: hoofs in the air and launches missiles filled with egg
- 33:10Speaker 1: and panco at you, and then drops you into a volcano.
- 33:14Speaker 4: I don't think that's exactly right.
- 33:16Speaker 5: What do you think sounds wrong?
- 33:18Speaker 3: He was tied over a pot like he was. I
- 33:21Speaker 3: don't think he was just on a beach like the
- 33:24Speaker 3: all the food stuff happened. But I don't think he
- 33:29Speaker 3: was on the beach.
- 33:31Speaker 5: Are you mixing up Correchio?
- 33:34Speaker 4: I'm thinking of Tara Taru, right.
- 33:36Speaker 7: I know, But Correk is tied on a post over
- 33:39Speaker 7: a pot. I don't know, but I'm pretty sure he
- 33:42Speaker 7: does get dipped into the volcano. I do know that
- 33:45Speaker 7: that is true, but you might be right about like,
- 33:48Speaker 7: is it on the beach?
- 33:49Speaker 4: Just start?
- 33:50Speaker 3: I just think there's something off about it. I don't know, Okay,
- 33:54Speaker 3: if you're feeling real confident, Well, I'm comfortable with saying yes,
- 34:00Speaker 3: because I agree that the food and the volcano, like
- 34:03Speaker 3: all of that sounds that is right good to me.
- 34:07Speaker 5: But I think I don't know. I'm so sorry, Matt.
- 34:10Speaker 5: Could you just read the very first part of that again,
- 34:13Speaker 5: just the beach part.
- 34:14Speaker 1: You are tied to a pole on a beach.
- 34:17Speaker 7: I think he is tied to a pole on the
- 34:19Speaker 7: beach because I do remember the fighter jam thing too.
- 34:22Speaker 5: I think it's true.
- 34:22Speaker 3: You remember that too, Okay, I think let's go with
- 34:25Speaker 3: it then. And it's territory.
- 34:28Speaker 4: Character.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you are right about the character, but you
- 34:32Speaker 1: are wrong about it being true or false.
- 34:34Speaker 6: It is.
- 34:34Speaker 1: It is false. It wasn't a fighter jet. It was
- 34:37Speaker 1: a helicopter.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Oh well, I feel a little better that we wouldn't.
- 34:43Speaker 5: I didn't know what it was.
- 34:45Speaker 4: At least you were right about the pole on the beach.
- 34:47Speaker 4: I mean that.
- 34:50Speaker 1: It's so funny, but it's good that that's the detail
- 34:54Speaker 1: you focused on. It's there are lots of people getting
- 34:58Speaker 1: tied to poles in this one. Behave good good stuff
- 35:06Speaker 1: still got a point though, for the right character. It
- 35:08Speaker 1: was indeed territory. Okay, back on over to Polycuma. Here
- 35:12Speaker 1: is your next execution scenario.
- 35:14Speaker 6: Andre.
- 35:15Speaker 4: You go ahead and misbehave.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Restrained to a hospital bed. The floor below you is
- 35:24Speaker 1: punctured by a giant hypodermic needle and transforms into a
- 35:28Speaker 1: giant arm, which then fists you into the sun.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Sorry it does what.
- 35:35Speaker 3: This is?
- 35:36Speaker 5: This is not?
- 35:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I didn't I didn't know.
- 35:39Speaker 4: No, there wass no, I'm not even gonna even get
- 35:45Speaker 4: into that.
- 35:46Speaker 6: I thought it.
- 35:48Speaker 4: I thought it stayed a hyperdermic needle. But it did
- 35:50Speaker 4: launch her into the sun. I don't remember it.
- 35:53Speaker 8: Yes, it stayed like the syringe was like a rocket
- 35:57Speaker 8: that like blasted her into the sun.
- 35:59Speaker 5: So this is not and this is this is me.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Kan yeah, Mikan sumiki And no, this did not happen
- 36:07Speaker 4: this way.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Okay, you're right about the character is me Khan. But
- 36:12Speaker 1: I've got that this is true and I did. The
- 36:14Speaker 1: floor does turn into a giant arm that then breaks
- 36:18Speaker 1: off like a rocket. And you know, while not a
- 36:20Speaker 1: traditional act of fisting, one could say that she was
- 36:23Speaker 1: fisted into the sun.
- 36:25Speaker 5: I must have like repressed that then, because.
- 36:31Speaker 1: But you know your characters, so a point for that
- 36:33Speaker 1: for sure. All right, I've got one more scenario left
- 36:36Speaker 1: for each team. It's punishment time. Here is yours. You
- 36:40Speaker 1: are trapped in a helicopter piloted by Monacuma, who crashes
- 36:44Speaker 1: it onto the street below. You crawl out of the wreckage,
- 36:48Speaker 1: but are then surrounded by Monacuma units. You pass out.
- 36:53Speaker 4: What I crazy? Or is this an ultra to spare
- 36:56Speaker 4: girls thing?
- 36:57Speaker 7: I was thinking the same thing. Are there executions in
- 37:01Speaker 7: that game? Though, because, like I know the kids, each
- 37:04Speaker 7: of the kids like something happens, but is it an
- 37:08Speaker 7: execution technically?
- 37:10Speaker 4: Hmmm?
- 37:11Speaker 7: Hold on, I'm just going to do a quick like
- 37:13Speaker 7: think through, so like, okay, first game. The first is Territor,
- 37:18Speaker 7: which we've already done. The second is KARUMEI and that's
- 37:20Speaker 7: not her. The third is me Cow, which we already did.
- 37:22Speaker 7: The fourth is Gunndum.
- 37:26Speaker 4: I'm not sure.
- 37:28Speaker 3: I almost don't want to go through all of them
- 37:29Speaker 3: because that gives them a hint.
- 37:31Speaker 9: Oh oh horse, I think what if it well, Okay,
- 37:40Speaker 9: So Matt said that they pass out at the end,
- 37:44Speaker 9: and so I'm wondering if this is not a death
- 37:48Speaker 9: but because Diamondrump is deader than dead tropes, and so
- 37:53Speaker 9: I'm wondering if it's Makoto's sister the other nyake Oh
- 37:58Speaker 9: when she first passes out.
- 38:00Speaker 4: But I don't know if I'm making that up up, I.
- 38:04Speaker 5: Don't know, but it's not technically an execution.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Then yeah, that would be my character.
- 38:09Speaker 7: I guess I'm confident enough in that that I think
- 38:13Speaker 7: we should take that leap.
- 38:16Speaker 3: And we're saying that it wasn't an like, that's an
- 38:19Speaker 3: incorrect not.
- 38:19Speaker 7: An execution, Yeah, incorrect, but it's for Kamaru Naiagi.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Okay, definitely the point for the character. I'm also taped
- 38:29Speaker 1: to give you it because I'm playing with semantics here
- 38:31Speaker 1: because the fandom wiki lists these specific death moments as executions.
- 38:37Speaker 1: She didn't but but she didn't die, which is why
- 38:40Speaker 1: I kind of chose this one as a bit of
- 38:41Speaker 1: a trixie reason. It's still labeled as an execution, but
- 38:45Speaker 1: it doesn't actually happen. You will uh imbue me with
- 38:49Speaker 1: the power of friendship to open this up. I'm gonna
- 38:51Speaker 1: give you. I'm gonna give you the point. Technically an execution.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Yeah, because they are one hundred percent right. It's it
- 38:56Speaker 4: may be an execution, but they are correct in that
- 39:00Speaker 4: nobody dies. So yes, well, at least tomorrow doesn't die.
- 39:03Speaker 4: A lot of other people do but.
- 39:04Speaker 5: Not why.
- 39:10Speaker 4: Make up in my head?
- 39:12Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly as you described the ultra dispair girls, and
- 39:17Speaker 1: it was indeed the sibling. Okay, final execution scenario for Polyculma.
- 39:23Speaker 6: Here it is.
- 39:24Speaker 1: You are tied up and hanging from the ceiling. You
- 39:27Speaker 1: are spun around until the ties are cut off by
- 39:29Speaker 1: a samurai, sending you down a hole and into a boiler.
- 39:33Speaker 1: You are boiled alive. Your soul then ascends into the
- 39:36Speaker 1: sky where you reunite with the spirit of your deceased mother,
- 39:40Speaker 1: until Mona Kuma appears and throws salt at you, banishing
- 39:44Speaker 1: you to the afterlife.
- 39:46Speaker 8: It was his sister, his mother, So we're going with no.
- 39:53Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's Kaki.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Didn't trick you there. Indeed, it was referenced earlier. I
- 39:59Speaker 1: think the two I've included the two food based things
- 40:03Speaker 1: and to dab their fantastic scene a well deserved two points. Oh,
- 40:10Speaker 1: and that's the end of round one. Well well done, teams.
- 40:14Speaker 4: Can I just say that you've put this against each other.
- 40:16Speaker 4: I kept wanting to help.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Jump in and sometimes I remember too when they're talking,
- 40:24Speaker 3: I'm like, ah, I remember that.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Like sometimes these games have ended with the both teams
- 40:32Speaker 1: turning against me. So if you if you find a
- 40:35Speaker 1: united front, then by all means, so just be reading
- 40:42Speaker 1: that I should be on guard. Okay, that is the
- 40:45Speaker 1: end of round one, Ordra, could you please read the
- 40:47Speaker 1: scores in your best anime protagonist voice.
- 40:50Speaker 6: Its punishment time has seven points and Polycuma also has
- 40:56Speaker 6: seven points.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Lovely stuff. It's all tied up that that is just
- 41:00Speaker 1: it's like an anime protagonist.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Thank you. Yeah, I thought that was very well done.
- 41:03Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Up next is round two. After this section that's full
- 41:07Speaker 1: of doubts, of mysteries of a dense, impenetrable fog aka
- 41:11Speaker 1: a bunch of commercials. See you after. Round two is
- 41:20Speaker 1: called fan Court Class Trials. Addition, in this game, I
- 41:25Speaker 1: will ask our players to speak confidently and provide evidence
- 41:28Speaker 1: for or against a series of statements about Dangan Romper. However,
- 41:33Speaker 1: unlike our usual fan court players won't be making individual cases.
- 41:37Speaker 1: It will be two versus two, with one team agreeing
- 41:40Speaker 1: with the statement and acting four and the other team
- 41:43Speaker 1: disagreeing with the statement and acting against. I will start
- 41:47Speaker 1: a hidden three minute timer. One player will begin speaking,
- 41:51Speaker 1: and as soon as a player on the opposite team
- 41:54Speaker 1: disagrees or has a counterpoint to something they've heard, they
- 41:57Speaker 1: can say truth bullet. After saying truth bullet, they state
- 42:01Speaker 1: their reasoning, and I, the judge, choose to either hand
- 42:04Speaker 1: control of the debate over to the opposite team by
- 42:07Speaker 1: saying I'll allow it, or overrule the objection and allow
- 42:11Speaker 1: the original team to continue with their argument. You score
- 42:15Speaker 1: a point whenever you land a successful truth bullet, and
- 42:18Speaker 1: also for making Audra laugh. Audra will be just in
- 42:21Speaker 1: charge of the scores. If you say something that makes
- 42:23Speaker 1: Audra laugh, she can throw points on. Also, whichever team
- 42:26Speaker 1: has control of the trial when the time is up
- 42:29Speaker 1: will score a bonus three points. So as the time
- 42:32Speaker 1: is getting towards the end, as your sense in that
- 42:34Speaker 1: you might be in the final minute, throw out some
- 42:36Speaker 1: risky truth bullets just to try and gain control. All right,
- 42:40Speaker 1: So the first statement I have written down here for
- 42:43Speaker 1: all of you is Junko is a bad antagonist and
- 42:47Speaker 1: shouldn't be the face of the franchise.
- 42:51Speaker 6: Go.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I saw a lot of lot of hot takes online
- 42:53Speaker 1: about this, a lot of strong opinions. We'll see if
- 42:56Speaker 1: that stands here, and I think we'll have its punishment time.
- 43:00Speaker 1: You will be full this statement. You'll be agreeing with
- 43:02Speaker 1: this statement that Junko is a bad antagonist and shouldn't
- 43:05Speaker 1: be the face of the franchise, and then Polykioma will
- 43:09Speaker 1: have you go against that statement. You think she's a
- 43:12Speaker 1: great antagonist and should be the face of the franchise.
- 43:15Speaker 1: And I think we'll have the people agreeing with the statement.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Stop first, So whoever from punishment would like to take
- 43:21Speaker 1: this away, I will start the timer as soon as
- 43:23Speaker 1: you start talking.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Yeah, you go, all right.
- 43:28Speaker 3: I think that the overall prompt is to question whether
- 43:31Speaker 3: Junco was a good antagonist for the entire series, which
- 43:35Speaker 3: means that we have to take into account all four games,
- 43:39Speaker 3: including V three, where Junco is not the antagonist at all.
- 43:43Speaker 3: It is us, as the viewers and the people at PVS.
- 43:49Speaker 8: It is up for debate as to whether Junco actually
- 43:52Speaker 8: is the antagonist in V three, because there is lots
- 43:56Speaker 8: of debate as to whether v three is has actually declared,
- 43:59Speaker 8: you know, the original Dunk and Rufe series fictional within
- 44:02Speaker 8: the fiction or not. But regardless, Junko is still very
- 44:06Speaker 8: much influential over especially Sumugie, who is the other antagonist
- 44:11Speaker 8: in that game, and everything is kind of done for
- 44:15Speaker 8: Junco according to Sumugie. So I will say personally, I
- 44:20Speaker 8: think Junko is a fantastic antagonist because she's very much
- 44:24Speaker 8: not what we'd expect from an antagonist. She's like this
- 44:27Speaker 8: kind of almost like girly girl. Whatever, it's not, it's
- 44:30Speaker 8: it's it's a unique take on an antagonist.
- 44:33Speaker 3: And not only that, truth bullet, truth bullet. I actually
- 44:38Speaker 3: disagree because I think that female antagonists in media tend
- 44:42Speaker 3: to be shown as like kind of this same type
- 44:47Speaker 3: of Junco character. I've that to me is classic female antagon.
- 44:51Speaker 6: I agree, I'll allow.
- 44:52Speaker 7: It, yes, And I will say, like doing voiceover, we
- 44:57Speaker 7: talk about archetypes a lot, and one of the literal
- 45:01Speaker 7: like twenty main archetypes and female animation voiceover and video
- 45:05Speaker 7: games is the psychotic girl, like the psycho girl, and
- 45:10Speaker 7: Junko is she fits that trope almost perfectly. Like all
- 45:15Speaker 7: the lines that I read for that were like very
- 45:17Speaker 7: much that bullet.
- 45:21Speaker 4: I don't think Junko actually does fit that perfectly. I
- 45:24Speaker 4: think her association with despair and the the the importance
- 45:30Speaker 4: of that in her life and how it has driven
- 45:32Speaker 4: her and created her alternate personalities makes her unique against
- 45:38Speaker 4: the pantheon of female psychotic villains.
- 45:41Speaker 6: Yep, I'll allow it to be fair.
- 45:43Speaker 4: I can't really, I can't really speak to those because
- 45:45Speaker 4: I can't think of any others.
- 45:47Speaker 5: Off the top truth bullet. But there is also another
- 45:52Speaker 5: character in the series, Togufukawa, who also has multiple personalities
- 45:56Speaker 5: and she's not an antagonist.
- 45:58Speaker 6: Yep, definitely, that's facts. I'll allow it.
- 46:02Speaker 5: Thank you. Anyway, Let's talk about the real star of
- 46:05Speaker 5: the show.
- 46:07Speaker 4: Truths.
- 46:10Speaker 10: Yeah, Toko is not this topic of discussion here, No,
- 46:14Speaker 10: but you know that's where the discussion's gone. I've overruled
- 46:17Speaker 10: Caroline still, but let's talk about the real and that's
- 46:22Speaker 10: your time.
- 46:24Speaker 6: Your time is up, sorry, Aaron.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I appreciate you going in for the truth bullet at
- 46:29Speaker 1: the end that I just wasn't fully convinced because I
- 46:32Speaker 1: like the debate going where the debate goes.
- 46:34Speaker 3: I have to know, Caroline, who were you going to
- 46:36Speaker 3: bring up just now.
- 46:38Speaker 7: I was just flying with it. I actually didn't know
- 46:40Speaker 7: where I was going. It was like Michael Scott, like
- 46:42Speaker 7: I didn't know where the sentence was going to end up.
- 46:44Speaker 7: I think part of me was like, might bring up Monacuma,
- 46:47Speaker 7: but then that could have been truth bulleted because people
- 46:48Speaker 7: would be like, well do But then I was thinking
- 46:53Speaker 7: about being like, oh, actually it's the kids. The kids
- 46:56Speaker 7: that the real antagonist. And that is a nice little segue.
- 47:00Speaker 7: Find you say so much, I've left that so much.
- 47:06Speaker 1: All right, let's let's do that one more time, because
- 47:08Speaker 1: I had so much fun presiding over this court of
- 47:12Speaker 1: law that we have created. Should have just been a
- 47:15Speaker 1: lawyer if I wanted to do that instead of playing games.
- 47:17Speaker 1: So well, okay, so the next statement I have here
- 47:22Speaker 1: is it's actually the children's fault. So this time I
- 47:27Speaker 1: think we'll have its punishment time argue against this statement
- 47:32Speaker 1: that it's actually the children's fault, and we'll have Polycuma
- 47:36Speaker 1: agree with the statement that it is actually the children's fault.
- 47:39Speaker 1: And in conditions.
- 47:46Speaker 4: That's true. That's the main except now it's false.
- 47:49Speaker 3: So right, forty six for no, yeah, forty sixty the.
- 47:56Speaker 6: Kids, it's good.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Okay, so we'll we'll just crack straight on with this polyguma.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Are you ready to argue for this statement?
- 48:07Speaker 5: I think so.
- 48:09Speaker 10: Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna let Mattie take the reins
- 48:11Speaker 10: on this one. Take it away, Maddie. As soon as
- 48:15Speaker 10: you start your argument, I will stop the tima.
- 48:18Speaker 8: In order for us to believe in free will, we
- 48:21Speaker 8: have to acknowledge that people are ultimately in charge of
- 48:25Speaker 8: their own actions, even when outside forces are influencing them.
- 48:30Speaker 8: The decision to murder another one of your classmates, you know,
- 48:34Speaker 8: that is a decision that these students had to make
- 48:37Speaker 8: and then plan, and then plot, and then act upon
- 48:40Speaker 8: and then carry out and then also try to hide
- 48:42Speaker 8: and lie.
- 48:43Speaker 7: To But what about when they're all starving to death?
- 48:49Speaker 7: That that there is a scenario where they are starving
- 48:52Speaker 7: to death?
- 48:54Speaker 1: What about that I accept carry on.
- 48:56Speaker 7: Yes, Karl, where they're trapped in a house with no
- 48:58Speaker 7: food and they're forced to exercise every morning. And obviously, yes,
- 49:04Speaker 7: something or someone is going to snap in that situation,
- 49:07Speaker 7: because that is in humane circumstances. And perhaps we would
- 49:10Speaker 7: act a little bit differently if we are put in
- 49:13Speaker 7: a scenario where where we are.
- 49:16Speaker 5: Deprived of our most basic needs.
- 49:18Speaker 7: And the murder was committed in that instance because the
- 49:22Speaker 7: two people involved wanted to save the rest of the group, right, I.
- 49:27Speaker 4: Think if I may add on top of that, truth
- 49:30Speaker 4: Bullet for Mattie.
- 49:31Speaker 8: So, yes, they acted on that because they wanted to
- 49:33Speaker 8: save the group. But it was still their choice to
- 49:35Speaker 8: do that, regardless of their motivations, whether they had, you know,
- 49:38Speaker 8: pure desire to act to help the other people rather
- 49:42Speaker 8: than to hurt their classmates, they still made the choice
- 49:46Speaker 8: to have a duel and knowing that one of them
- 49:48Speaker 8: was going to die and one of them was going
- 49:49Speaker 8: to be a killer.
- 49:50Speaker 1: True, Yeah, I'll allow it. Individual free will carry on.
- 49:53Speaker 5: So I think, yes, they were starving, they were.
- 49:56Speaker 3: To truthful Mary, is there free will in these kind
- 50:01Speaker 3: of like scenarios are in place? If you say that
- 50:03Speaker 3: everyone will die by starvation, do you even have free
- 50:07Speaker 3: will anymore to make any other choice? If the are
- 50:11Speaker 3: gone counter, Yes, has just chosen to die?
- 50:20Speaker 6: Okay, I'll allow it.
- 50:21Speaker 1: They could have just chosen to die Bullet, Yes, yes, Caroline,
- 50:25Speaker 1: Truth Bullet and Buffy The.
- 50:26Speaker 11: Vampire Slayer Season two, episode seven, there is some boy
- 50:32Speaker 11: named Ford who has literal cancer, so he decides to
- 50:36Speaker 11: become a vampire, okay, because he would rather live forever
- 50:39Speaker 11: as an evil being.
- 50:40Speaker 7: As Buffy says in that episode, you may not have
- 50:44Speaker 7: a good choice, but you have a choice. And the
- 50:47Speaker 7: choice that the two yes argument that I'm trying to make.
- 50:52Speaker 7: Even when you're.
- 50:55Speaker 8: And you, they still made a choice.
- 51:00Speaker 7: So Bullet, however, the choice was two people die or
- 51:06Speaker 7: everyone dies.
- 51:07Speaker 5: This is a classic trolley problem situation. Yes, Maren, truth bullet.
- 51:11Speaker 12: I remember in an episode argued for bullet, that's your time.
- 51:17Speaker 12: I do like the marriage truth bulleted her own team
- 51:21Speaker 12: at the end that.
- 51:24Speaker 4: If you are going to allow that, Matt, I said
- 51:26Speaker 4: truth bullet before the time ran out, so it should
- 51:29Speaker 4: be given.
- 51:30Speaker 1: But you know, for an extra point, for an extra point,
- 51:32Speaker 1: what would your truth bullet being because you did say
- 51:33Speaker 1: truth bullet at one second.
- 51:35Speaker 4: We do not know for certain that Montacuma would have
- 51:38Speaker 4: let them die.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Look, I'll take it for an extra point, but the
- 51:41Speaker 1: three points again are gonna go to its punishment time
- 51:45Speaker 1: because they ended with.
- 51:48Speaker 3: I have to be honest in that argument. I had
- 51:51Speaker 3: such a tough time remembering what side I was on.
- 51:54Speaker 4: I wanted to argue.
- 51:57Speaker 3: The other side and so I had to keep like stopping.
- 52:01Speaker 4: Don't speak, man, Caroline. I love you bringing Buffy into
- 52:06Speaker 4: this Thank you so much. I love this season.
- 52:09Speaker 3: An episode drop on that too, like wondering.
- 52:18Speaker 5: Caroline.
- 52:19Speaker 8: See Caroline has an entire lobe of her brain dedicated
- 52:21Speaker 8: to Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
- 52:22Speaker 5: Correct, yes, yes.
- 52:26Speaker 1: And do you check out the Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- 52:27Speaker 1: episode of this very podcast.
- 52:30Speaker 5: Which me and Aaron all right, hell.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, that was a lot of fun for me.
- 52:36Speaker 1: I hope it was a lot of fun for you.
- 52:38Speaker 1: That's the end of the round, Ordra. Could you please
- 52:41Speaker 1: read the scores like you're an exasperated court stenographer.
- 52:44Speaker 6: I should have been doing the math during this time,
- 52:46Speaker 6: so give me like two seconds.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Okay, oh yes, I've got exasperated here. But you could
- 52:53Speaker 1: do bored if you want.
- 52:55Speaker 6: I think that's what I'm capable of. So uh have
- 53:00Speaker 6: a statement from its punishment time of eighteen points and
- 53:07Speaker 6: response from Polycuma of thirteen thirteen.
- 53:13Speaker 4: Very angry, but I'm not angry at Caroline and Marrin.
- 53:15Speaker 6: I'm angry at Matt, of course.
- 53:16Speaker 3: I'm very pleased with Matt, and I don't plan to
- 53:19Speaker 3: fight you Matt. I'm not against you.
- 53:21Speaker 7: Actually, Matt. My brother's name is Matt, so I miss
- 53:26Speaker 7: true you even more.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, give more points to.
- 53:35Speaker 6: The objection of a.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Round three next after these ads. Remember capitalism will kill
- 53:42Speaker 1: you before the bear does. You're safer with the bear.
- 53:46Speaker 4: Do you pick the man, the bear or the capitalism exactly?
- 53:50Speaker 1: Back after this? Round three is called fan fickle. In
- 54:00Speaker 1: this game, I will ask Audra, who I think is
- 54:03Speaker 1: still seated to my right. Yes, she is, She's still here,
- 54:06Speaker 1: good stuff. I will ask Audra to read our team's
- 54:09Speaker 1: extracts from some genuine pieces of Dangan Romper fan fiction.
- 54:14Speaker 1: At the end of the extract, there will be a blank,
- 54:16Speaker 1: and I will offer three options to fill in the blank.
- 54:19Speaker 1: Simply debate and decide a B or C. It's a
- 54:23Speaker 1: game of how well you know your fellow fans, or
- 54:26Speaker 1: at least how well you know your fellow fans who
- 54:29Speaker 1: haven't upped their prescriptions recently. I've also been instricted to
- 54:34Speaker 1: say the following by the dang Rompa fan community, just
- 54:37Speaker 1: so that any fans listening are aware, we've not included
- 54:41Speaker 1: anything from the fifty eight chapter piss fick. I hope
- 54:44Speaker 1: that calms some nerves. Okay, this, yeah, I had to
- 54:52Speaker 1: tell we've stuck to the more silly sort of crack
- 54:55Speaker 1: fix here.
- 54:56Speaker 6: There's some this it was an iceberg for sure. Okay.
- 55:01Speaker 1: And with that the first each each team will get
- 55:05Speaker 1: an extract from each fix. We've got three fix six extracts.
- 55:10Speaker 6: Sorry, Eric, the phrase.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Periodic is very funny as well, that crat I read
- 55:26Speaker 1: it for the first time this past week.
- 55:28Speaker 7: That doesn't shock me that Don Rombo is your introduction
- 55:31Speaker 7: to that.
- 55:33Speaker 4: Unfortunately, welcome to the front yep.
- 55:37Speaker 1: It's been a crazy wild ride. And now let's introduce
- 55:41Speaker 1: you to the first of three fix that we'll be
- 55:43Speaker 1: looking at today. This first fix is called The lions Den.
- 55:46Speaker 1: I'll read the synopsis and then order will read the
- 55:48Speaker 1: extracts The Lion's Den. After the Killing Game, Kamda realizes
- 55:53Speaker 1: he has no choice but to bring the Ultimate Hope
- 55:56Speaker 1: under his care. The world has become a very dangerous place,
- 55:59Speaker 1: after all, and there's no way he can allow nag
- 56:03Speaker 1: Makoto's light to blink out. Apologies for my pronunciations, and
- 56:08Speaker 1: with that, let's have an extract for its punishment. Time
- 56:12Speaker 1: or dry to take it away.
- 56:13Speaker 6: The giant monacuma smashed through the front window and ambled
- 56:17Speaker 6: down the city streets. His eyes caught something. His brain
- 56:21Speaker 6: scanned every image, searching, hunting. It ignored the screams caused
- 56:27Speaker 6: by it and its brethren, and waded through the rubble
- 56:30Speaker 6: until at last it spotted a figure through the alleyway.
- 56:34Speaker 6: A girl's face came into profile. Target identified, secure, apprehend.
- 56:41Speaker 6: The Monacuma charged the girl finally saw it. She scrambled backwards,
- 56:45Speaker 6: nearly tripping in her haste. The Monacuma's claws slid back
- 56:49Speaker 6: into their hiding places, but they were replaced with a
- 56:54Speaker 6: grappling hooks B six big guns. See reaching arms and
- 57:02Speaker 6: grabby hands.
- 57:04Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh.
- 57:06Speaker 7: Checking arms and grabby hands.
- 57:10Speaker 3: I think I need to include the word brethren in
- 57:12Speaker 3: my vocabulary more often.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Yes, always, all my brethren.
- 57:18Speaker 1: That you only find in fan fiction, I think, and
- 57:21Speaker 1: brethren is one of them.
- 57:22Speaker 7: Oh yeah, So okay, Maren, here's what my train of
- 57:26Speaker 7: thought here. Because the person that they're approaching is female,
- 57:31Speaker 7: and this is anime, it would make me think that
- 57:35Speaker 7: it is Richie. Arms and grabby hands because that sounds
- 57:40Speaker 7: very anime to me.
- 57:42Speaker 3: I am specifically and unfortunately thinking about chapter three of
- 57:47Speaker 3: Ultra Despair Girls, and I am pretty confident that that
- 57:51Speaker 3: is what they're referencing.
- 57:53Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 57:56Speaker 4: And if I don't know what I'm talking about, maybe
- 57:58Speaker 4: don't find out.
- 57:59Speaker 7: Yeah, perhaps I don't look more into that because ye wow.
- 58:04Speaker 5: Anyway, yeah, I agree with you, though.
- 58:07Speaker 3: I think I think Caroline and I would like to
- 58:09Speaker 3: go with see Ricci arms and grabby hands.
- 58:14Speaker 1: You go with Ricchie arms and grabby hands. It is that.
- 58:17Speaker 10: It is absolutely correct, probably for the reasons you said. Ah, unfortunately,
- 58:23Speaker 10: Oh no, yeah, I was just reading through this thick
- 58:26Speaker 10: and that was just a horrible phrase. Okay, from the
- 58:31Speaker 10: same thick, also from the Lion's Den. Let's have another extract,
- 58:35Speaker 10: this time for Polyculma Oldre.
- 58:38Speaker 6: He had been such a fool. Though he was destined
- 58:41Speaker 6: to destroy Despair, he needed it. Despair wasn't his enemy.
- 58:46Speaker 6: Despair wasn't a monster hiding under his bed. Despair was
- 58:51Speaker 6: Despair was his mother. He had been a fool. His
- 58:55Speaker 6: body still twitched and jerked with the motions of laughter,
- 58:59Speaker 6: but what came out of his throat were gurgles. Back
- 59:02Speaker 6: and forth. He went, eyes rolling up into his skull.
- 59:06Speaker 6: He was a fool, such a fool. His chin dipped,
- 59:10Speaker 6: his body went still like a a lifeless clown doll.
- 59:17Speaker 6: B robot entering shutdown. See newborn puppy not meant for
- 59:23Speaker 6: this world.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Oh my God, snaps to the writer.
- 59:34Speaker 6: Poetry is meant to be read out loud.
- 59:36Speaker 1: I'll say that any idea what's happening here in this
- 59:40Speaker 1: in this thick no.
- 59:45Speaker 4: Was his mother clown doll is not that interesting. So
- 59:52Speaker 4: I can see that writing it shots fired robot that
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: it appears to be entering shutdown is the one I
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: would probably go with.
- 1:00:07Speaker 6: But I as much as I wanted to, I can't.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: I can't say that the other one, that the dog
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: one is, isn't possible.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: A struggling to even say it, Aaron.
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: I No, I don't, I know.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: I don't want to hear it again. Honestly, show.
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: I could see it potentially being the robot one, because
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: robots have already robot manicumas have already been referenced in
- 1:00:31Speaker 8: the fix. So maybe, but I really don't know. Do
- 1:00:35Speaker 8: you want to guess the robot one?
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I think we'll go with the robot one.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Going with B robots like a robots entering shut down,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: not like a newborn puppy, not meant for this world. Sorry, Aaron, No,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: it is bait. It is robot entering shut down. You
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: walked around. I did write lifeless clown doll, thank you
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: very much.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: Caroline and I were privately chatting. We were unsure if
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: they were referencing Jatro, the kid whose mom was like
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: really mean to him.
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: Oh you guys remember that.
- 1:01:08Speaker 7: Oh Okaya mask on his face?
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: He yeah, they were not.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: They were referencing a robot, right.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: Thank you, Baron much of course, not a problem.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Well did hece Maddie for a robot was mentioned earlier
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: in the fix, So this author probably has robots on
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: the brain.
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: Okay, let's move on. Let's let's get unhinged. Now, let's
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: on that hinge. Your next thick is called Dangan Rompus
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: sixty nine.
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: There's more.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Goddamn hope, I think I see that.
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: Their title.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: The synopsis is, after waking up in a mysterious school,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: Luigi is forced into a killing game. Who will survive,
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: who will perish? And more importantly, will God forgive me
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: for this?
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: The Mario brother or okay, I'm human?
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: Shit you not.
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: I've read this one, all right. Somebody posted it in
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: the Ultra Girl's Discord and checked it out, and I
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: read it from beginning to d I don't know that
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: I'm going to remember.
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: A goddamn thing. This was years ago, but she said
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: it was Luigi.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: I was like, oh no, oh, yes, with that, let's
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: have the first extract for its furnishment. Time Ordre take
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: it away.
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: And with that Mario dragged Luigi away once more. They
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: ended up going down a corridor that led to a dormitory.
- 1:02:56Speaker 6: The brothers found that their rooms were next to each other. Mario, Hey,
- 1:03:01Speaker 6: that's a pretty good more of the voice.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: I'll do the voice of this character this question mark one.
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: Okay, I'm gonna do it the exact same, and we're
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: gonna accept it. Okay, Mario, Hey, that's a pretty good Luigi. No,
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: it's not Mario who's expecting us to stay here.
- 1:03:19Speaker 10: I the Laddie's right. This place seems fishier than Davy
- 1:03:24Speaker 10: Jones's locker.
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: The brothers turned to yet another new voice, which was
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: gravelly yet warm. The owner of said voice belonged to
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: a crab of sorts who bore a distinctly crinkled nose
- 1:03:37Speaker 6: with a very large clause. He examined the two and
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: placed his claws on his hips.
- 1:03:43Speaker 10: You too look like a couple of good wranglers. I
- 1:03:46Speaker 10: don't suppose you'd be me makeshift crew Boyos.
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: Luigi crew for what Mario Bowser's crew?
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: Where are me? Manners?
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I'm Eugene Crabs ultimate blank.
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: Entrepreneur, b franchiser ce crustacean.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: Okay, it's not see, it's gotta be one or the
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: other two.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: I am obviously not an expert. If whoever wrote this
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: is listening to this, I just like to think that
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: God will forgive you for this, I actually say, but I.
- 1:04:27Speaker 7: Would go a step further and say God will immediately
- 1:04:30Speaker 7: let you into heaven for this.
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: This is the key.
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: This is the key to the pearly gates.
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: If not, I don't want to believe in that God.
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: Speaking of pearl We've got mister Crabs here and grit saguay,
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: thank you, and pretty rather Yeah, Ultimately it was franchise.
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: Franchiser an entrepreneur.
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: Okay, entrepreneur, Risty Crab entrepreneur, franchise entrepreneur.
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: I don't think franchised the Krusty Krab as much as
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: he probably wanted to. There's we only see the one.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: I don't think this never leaves the site.
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: Wait, is this is Eugene Crabs the name of mister Crabs.
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm pretty confident.
- 1:05:22Speaker 7: Yeah, Oh, okay, because I well, I guess this is
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: the moment when we find this out. It wasn't allowed
- 1:05:28Speaker 7: to watch SpongeBob as a child, so I don't really
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: know a lot about then.
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: I so he is mister Crabs? Confirmed?
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: Yes, especially with that fantastic voice acting from Audrey's husband.
- 1:05:41Speaker 13: His name is But thanks for the compliment, right right, Caroline?
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: Did your parents have a shelfitch allergy?
- 1:05:54Speaker 7: They thought cartoons were bad for my brain? Isn't that funny?
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: We are here, we are.
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: How's that load doing?
- 1:06:08Speaker 7: So I'm gonna say, I, oh, franchiser, I gonna say entrepreneur.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: I think it's entrepreneur. I just we don't see the
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: Christy Krab franchise really from what I remember from SpongeBob
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: and so I believe the moneymaker himself would consider himself
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: an entrepreneur. Right, I hope that's correct.
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: Okay, that's gonna be.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: He is indeed, correct couldn't even tempt you with Crustacean
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: that was just gone immediately. So that's a point there.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Well done, You clearly know your fellow unhinged fans. And
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: we'll stick with Rump for sixty nine and have another
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: extract from it, this time for Polykulma or d take
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: it away.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: Luigi had placed the gun in his room the night
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: the motive was announced. However, when checked this morning, the
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: gun was missing. Peter Griffin back to what Luigi said,
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: how do you know the gun was the murder weapon? Now, Luigi, Well,
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: there's a couple of things that lead me to believe
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: this way. First, the amount of obscuration on the wound
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: being switched up and being covered by Fluttershy's own hair
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: means that the killer didn't want us to find out
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: about it. PaRappa, That means this is a murder, right,
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: Fluttershy couldn't have stitched up her own wound Yonderi Chan
- 1:07:31Speaker 6: well as well as that she's a blank, there's no
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: way she could use a gun. A pacifist B representative
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: of kindness, ce.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Horse, there's no way she could use a gun.
- 1:07:55Speaker 8: That's just logic. Sorry, I'm not undertains is that what
- 1:08:00Speaker 8: we're Aaron, I'll trust you on this one. Are we
- 1:08:04Speaker 8: going with horse?
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: So I will say that, like, even though this this
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: ridiculous fan fic, like it just just uses properties from
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: all over and just as care everything, I think that
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: Suny Miko shows up to the the murder mysteries were
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: all like they were all logical, Like they weren't the
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: greatest murder mysteries ever written of all time, but they
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: were all based on logic. So I feel like she's
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: a horse. She couldn't possibly have used a gun. Is
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: accurate for the kind of mysteries that this person was
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: trying to write.
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: But that's that's a guess.
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: If you feel strongly about either of the others, Maddie,
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: I'm willing to entertain it.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: I'll just say that BoJack Horseman uses a gun, so.
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: How like get the tip of it under the trigger?
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: I mean, I have no idea, so I'll just guess too.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: So not pacifist, not representative of kindness to canonically true
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: things about Fluttershy. You're going with seahorse even though Fluttershy
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: is canonically a pony.
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: Yeah it is sea horse.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: I just loved how serious this because Aaron, you've read it.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: This VIC is actually solidly well written for what is
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: completely as pretty pretty tight. I just loved that it
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: was like very serious talking between these ridiculous characters and
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: it's like, well, she's a horse, so she couldn't.
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: It was. I did enjoy reading it.
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: It was very funny, but it was you know, you
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: couldn't take it seriously, but the author very clearly took
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: themselves very seriously.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: And look, out of the three, fix it, it's the
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: one i'd recommend out of the three of.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: Them, I'd like to read it. I would.
- 1:10:07Speaker 10: I'm in yeah, link in the show notes.
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: I guess yeah.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: I certainly wouldn't suggest you read this. Last one, Thick
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: three is called bowl Monacuma ex Reader and Bowl Monacuma
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Senpi was the most sexy guy you knew. His round body,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: that's all. How you desired to be squashed underneath his boldness.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: That's the synopsis. So now I was like the first
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: the first extracts of this for its furnishment time.
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: I'm at a loss for why you don't want us
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: to read this one.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: I'm just.
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: Why on earth you and ball Monacuma decide that this
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: was all boring, So you decide to go back to
- 1:10:59Speaker 6: the house club. You stare into his sexy eyes. Hey love,
- 1:11:04Speaker 6: you say, lustfully, causing ball Monacuma to get f to
- 1:11:09Speaker 6: get fuck you eyes, fku fuck you up?
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: That's what I mean.
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: Yeah, opinions on arson oo Wu ball Monicuma says in
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: his deep sexy voice, Yeah, great, we should go burn
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: down an orphanage. Okay, you suddenly start to make out
- 1:11:27Speaker 6: with baal Monacuma. His lips taste like blank, a exotic
- 1:11:33Speaker 6: murder b the souls of the innocent see.
- 1:11:37Speaker 7: Ass because let's taste like ass because he's fresh off
- 1:11:44Speaker 7: of eating someone else's.
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: I guess.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: Didn't in the synopsis. Didn't he say that he would
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: like sit on you or like crush you in some capacity?
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: But in the synopsis there was how you desired to
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: be squashed underneath his boldness.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: Okay, I probably didn't make that up. It would be
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: killing the author of this. Okay, So that reason I
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: think it could be asked. Go ahead, Carolyn, So okay.
- 1:12:14Speaker 7: I hear your your argument for ass. However, feel like
- 1:12:21Speaker 7: the first two answers have like a similar ring to them.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: I agree, one of them talking about burning an orphanage right.
- 1:12:32Speaker 7: Right, exactly, And I don't think it's the souls of
- 1:12:34Speaker 7: the innocent. That just sounds to me like a mattin
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: Audra answer. I don't know why. I'm just saying, So,
- 1:12:41Speaker 7: what was the first one? What was a A was
- 1:12:45Speaker 7: exotic murder?
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: That's we're going with.
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: Mona Kuma has a sexy voice, right, and his lustful.
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: Eyes and exotic murder.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: Right, it's giving exotic murder.
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: To me, Yeah, we wish it was c but we
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: are doing there.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: I think it's it going with a exotic murder.
- 1:13:04Speaker 6: It's not.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: It's actually the souls of the innocent. It doesn't bode
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: well for me denying that I wrote this big.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: It sounds like you might have.
- 1:13:16Speaker 6: God, did you write a whole fic so that you
- 1:13:18Speaker 6: could use it in a round?
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Hey, Caroline said, it sounds like a mat and dolgoranza
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: you helped.
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you both.
- 1:13:26Speaker 6: And that hill.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Okay, let's have one final extract from that exact same thing.
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: Cannot get Caroline sake, I see your argument for out
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: of my head?
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Okay, odro, when have you already this final extract?
- 1:13:43Speaker 6: You and baal Mona Kuma are chillings on the couch.
- 1:13:47Speaker 6: It does have a Z. Suddenly the door is kicked in.
- 1:13:51Speaker 6: It's Dio Brando from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, a Japanese manga
- 1:13:56Speaker 6: series written and illustrated by kiro Hiko Araki. It points
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: to you both. I took the kid's balm on a kuma,
- 1:14:06Speaker 6: take the l piss babies, he says in a thick
- 1:14:10Speaker 6: th h, I C C British accent. You gasp and
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: blank a piss on the floor. Be ship your pants,
- 1:14:20Speaker 6: see ass, you gasp an ass verb. It's a verb.
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: It's a verb.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: I love to ask any ideas that I.
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: Don't want to rule out as quality of writing so far,
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: introduce the character and then describing in detail exactly what
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: they're from.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: Yeah, his classic fine face. Oh my god, I.
- 1:15:03Speaker 6: Took the kids buma.
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: The kids ball. I'm kind of leaning towards ship your pants,
- 1:15:14Speaker 5: but personally.
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: It feels it feels a little too classic, like it
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: feels a little too root one to me, for the
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: the way this person writes everything. Okay, I'm leaning towards
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: piss on the floor another classic.
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: Okay, okay, I mean you're just everything else.
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: No, no, no, I don't know I don't want to
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: make the decision, but I will.
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: Okay, I'll make it.
- 1:15:45Speaker 6: Then you're going and.
- 1:15:49Speaker 10: I'm going with it to piss on the floor. I
- 1:15:51Speaker 10: guess it's the piss one. It is pissed on the floor.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: Character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Didn't they call them piss babies?
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: Yes?
- 1:16:06Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, Yet I was like, well, maybe that's too
- 1:16:10Speaker 8: many pisses in like too or whatever.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: But not for this right their brains one paragraph? Okay,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: that is the end of round three. Mercifully, qudra could
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: you please read the latest scores in the style of
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: an AO three fanfic Polycuma quivered.
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: They're sixteen points, bursting.
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: This is too much. It's too much.
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: No, it's exactly that's exactly how they go. It's punishment time.
- 1:16:42Speaker 6: Couldn't handle it anymore with their twenty points.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: I don't know, ass very good, So twenty to sixteen. Yes,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: it's close, okay, any one could win as the final
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: quick fire round still left to go, and that is alwaysaos.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Anything could happen. But before we get to the quick
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: fire around, let's talk prizes. This episode's star prize is
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: the concept of hope mentioned earlier and something I think
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: the world could use a little more of at the moment.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: And I think hope is often found in community. So
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: if bonding over a video game series about killing teenagers
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: is what allows you to access that hope, sincerely, you
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: do you, You do you. But our winning team will
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: also receive a printed and signed copy of the fifty
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: eighth chapter pissfiic Yay Caroline. We have to win up
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: next this crucial quick fire around after this final set
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: of ads. I hope the ad block includes the ted
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: Ex Dangon Romper DVD commercial from twenty twelve. That's real,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: look it up, Okay, back soon. Our final quick fire
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: around will test your broader pop culture knowledge and it's
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: called bed wed Behead. In this game, I will give
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: our players clues to a fictional murderer from pop culture history.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Those clues will be in the style of Monacuma describing them,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: and we'll find out if I can do a Monicuma voice,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: because I've not worked on this impression since I wrote
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: this text. Oh and there's of course a classic Gates
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: leaper's twist that's actually an ultra hope Girls twist. After
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: you say your answer, you need to say if you
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: would bed wed or behead them. These are all preferences,
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: so there's no wrong answers there. But if you don't
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: also include your preference after saying the murderer can't give
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: you a point. It's quick fire, so you buzz in
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: by yelling out your team name. Let's practice that now punishment,
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: and thankfully Ordra is here to help decide who who
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: said it first and fastest. Let me just work on
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: my monocuma voice that I'll then edit this bit out.
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: Make sure you bring the sides.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, that that kind of works, right, It's kind
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: of like that kind of voice. Yeah, I think you
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: should leave that in. Yeah, okay. For example, if I said.
- 1:19:19Speaker 10: Make sure you bring the sides for this guy, he's
- 1:19:22Speaker 10: got a taste for human flesh and he helps the cops.
- 1:19:27Speaker 6: Wow, astonishment, Yes, yes, Caroline.
- 1:19:32Speaker 7: Oh god wait, I know the actor's name. But what
- 1:19:34Speaker 7: Hannibal Lecter behead?
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: Nice good stuff. That's exactly how you answer it. Correct
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: answer followed by bedwear will behead. Most of these are
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: probably going to be beheads.
- 1:19:46Speaker 5: Do you never know?
- 1:19:47Speaker 6: You never know. We'll find out. Interrupt me at any points.
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: I'm gonna interrupt you now, Matt, I you know I'm
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: just sat here and I put up with it this
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: whole game. But you broke up the Ultra Hope girls
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: and you forced us to fight against each other.
- 1:20:01Speaker 6: It's all your fault.
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: I'm not gonna say villain. I'm not gonna be ahead
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: all right. As official captain of Polycuma. I am cutting
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: Maddie loose, and I'm sending her over to punishment.
- 1:20:25Speaker 6: Is worse.
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: I'm not gonna play your game. If I come up
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: with the correct answer, I'm gonna tell them what it
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: is so they can buzzn't even get the points. The
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: people listening, we obviously know who's gonna win. They're not
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: gonna be entertained. They're gonna hate this. They're gonna hate you.
- 1:20:41Speaker 6: Matt. You found a way to break my game.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: I have, oh my gosh.
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: Back, Thanks for thanks for having me.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: It is now three puss one with a reluctant one
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: on the other side. We'll see how this goes. I'm
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: still gonna raid all these clues so we still have
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: a show to put out. But know that Aaron I
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: can't think of a counter to this, so you've already
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: beaten me.
- 1:21:09Speaker 6: Here we go.
- 1:21:12Speaker 10: I hope the guy knows how to analyze pink blood splatter,
- 1:21:16Speaker 10: because even if he sticks to the code, he's gonna
- 1:21:19Speaker 10: need to glad this vigilante killer is on our side.
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: Oh, it's funny, fun time dexter. I was gonna say
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: it might be dexter.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: Yep, I heard Maren first. Marin came through. I do
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: you think Maddie is on a bit of a lag?
- 1:21:36Speaker 8: Sorry, Madie, I've been getting notifications about my WiFi not
- 1:21:39Speaker 8: being great, so I apologize.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: I think we'll give that give that one to Maren,
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: and if Maddie comes in with like two or three
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: seconds after, we'll give the next one to Maddie.
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: Sorry, I should have waited. That's on me. I got.
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: I'm the same team now, so it doesn't matter. So
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: your win is our win.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: I think we all I think we all went Donald Rumba.
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: I think that's a win.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: And I'm the loser, not just because I've actually now
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: lost against both teams, but because I have to do
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: this voice for eleven more.
- 1:22:15Speaker 10: This romance novel fan will surely nurse you back to
- 1:22:19Speaker 10: good hell.
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: John, Yes, it's Kathy Bates bo what's her name?
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: Oh, Nurse Ratchet.
- 1:22:27Speaker 7: Yes, Nurse Ratchet.
- 1:22:31Speaker 6: Behead is not Nurse Ratchet.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: I know what you think it of, but it's not
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: Nurse Ratchet.
- 1:22:36Speaker 5: Wait wait no, no, it's misery.
- 1:22:37Speaker 8: Misery, guys, I know that it's it's I think it's
- 1:22:41Speaker 8: Annie Wilkes Behead.
- 1:22:43Speaker 5: Yes, she's the biggest.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: Fan, Annie Wilkes Behead. Perfect, that's what I needed to hear.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: There's a points whichever team Matty is on.
- 1:22:50Speaker 10: Now, come on, they're all killers on wall Street. So
- 1:22:55Speaker 10: this one checks out your edgy jen Z cousin loves
- 1:22:59Speaker 10: how he disrespect women is an alpha and listens to
- 1:23:02Speaker 10: Huey Lewis.
- 1:23:03Speaker 6: In the news.
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: It's punishment time.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: The Wolf of Wall Street is the movie I believe, No,
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: do I have to get the person?
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Yeah, the person. But if you say the movie that
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: this is from, but it's not Wolf of wall Street.
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: I was kind of hopping Aaron would get some of these,
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: but he's no anticipate.
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: I genuinely have no idea, has no idea.
- 1:23:28Speaker 6: Okay, I knew it.
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: I can tell them what it is.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: This was Patrick Bateman from American Psycho.
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: Next to that come up on Instagram recently. I haven't
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: seen it, and.
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: That's all that story should remain.
- 1:23:44Speaker 10: This fella is doing the work of Kira, whatever that means.
- 1:23:48Speaker 6: But like Dexter.
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: Fish Light, Oh bed.
- 1:23:57Speaker 6: There we go our first beds.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: That is correct.
- 1:24:03Speaker 6: This lady is a new killer or is she old?
- 1:24:07Speaker 6: Not what?
- 1:24:07Speaker 10: She's being played by Mario during his edgy phase. Mi
- 1:24:11Speaker 10: a gough.
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: Don't clutch her just because misery.
- 1:24:16Speaker 7: Oh wait, what's my name? Foundation? Funishment? Uh, Maxine and.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: Behead.
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: I don't really know a lot about her.
- 1:24:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll take that Maxine slash Poe Karl.
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: Yeah, uh good stuff Behead better safe that Sorry.
- 1:24:34Speaker 6: I guess.
- 1:24:36Speaker 10: This guy wants to play a game more than I do.
- 1:24:39Speaker 10: Careful you don't get caught in one of his traps.
- 1:24:42Speaker 7: Oh hate punishment, punishment, Jigsaw and Behead?
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: Nice perfect? This is now just I do a bad
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: impression and then Caroline.
- 1:24:53Speaker 10: This guy is technically a spree killer, but he kept
- 1:25:00Speaker 10: popping up on lists because people have the hots for
- 1:25:03Speaker 10: Evan Peters.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: He also likes to paint his face with a skull.
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: It's punishment time. It's American horror story. But I don't
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: know his character's name. He's a ghost. Sorry though, yeah, spoiler.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: I know you know the character so that I'll give
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: you that bed wed wed wed.
- 1:25:25Speaker 10: I'm sick of this laugh. Hey, you should book an
- 1:25:28Speaker 10: appointment in this guy's chair. He'll give you a short
- 1:25:32Speaker 10: back and insides before turning you into pie buzzing.
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: All right, Sweeney Todd.
- 1:25:39Speaker 8: Guys, it's go Maddie sweet Sweeney Todd.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Behead and there's a behead. Yeah, Aaron's working against me.
- 1:25:53Speaker 10: This crime novelist has always been horny on Maine. I
- 1:25:57Speaker 10: don't know what's more dangerous, the ice pick for the
- 1:26:00Speaker 10: leg cross. Let me know if you have any instincts
- 1:26:03Speaker 10: on this one, basic or otherwise.
- 1:26:07Speaker 4: Oh, I mean it's it's the killer from basic instinct,
- 1:26:10Speaker 4: but I have no idea what her name is.
- 1:26:12Speaker 10: I take that as an answer from the other team.
- 1:26:18Speaker 4: It's punishment time.
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: Actually, yes, basic instinct singular and behead because I don't
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: know anything about them.
- 1:26:29Speaker 6: There we go. Always always sayin.
- 1:26:33Speaker 10: That I've heard of mummy issues, but this guy's a
- 1:26:37Speaker 10: real psycho. Still reasonable motel rates if you don't mind
- 1:26:42Speaker 10: a messy shower.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: Oh, it's the bait's motel. But I don't know the
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: character's name. Probably not either something Baits.
- 1:26:51Speaker 6: You're halfway there.
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: And behead. Yeah, we got time.
- 1:26:58Speaker 6: It's Norman Bits, good stuff.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: I love that this is the most chaotic quick play
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: around we've ever done.
- 1:27:08Speaker 10: She's one of the most violent killers in the history
- 1:27:11Speaker 10: of cinema. She better be the only woman in your
- 1:27:14Speaker 10: life and don't leave her alone with piano wire. I
- 1:27:20Speaker 10: think you either know this one or you don't. It's
- 1:27:22Speaker 10: a it's just the most violent, one of the most
- 1:27:24Speaker 10: violent films. It's not Gone Girl, but that's a very
- 1:27:26Speaker 10: good guess. This is a Sami Yamazaki from Audition and
- 1:27:32Speaker 10: Quick before the buzzer poooo. This guy is bizarrely polite
- 1:27:38Speaker 10: and that he only targets other murderers, just like Dexter
- 1:27:41Speaker 10: and that other guy I mentioned. He's from my franchise,
- 1:27:45Speaker 10: but it's more on the animated side. And if no
- 1:27:47Speaker 10: one knows it yet, I'm just gonna start reading from
- 1:27:50Speaker 10: his Wikipedia page. He is tall, with an average build
- 1:27:53Speaker 10: and a bored expression. He has short black hair with
- 1:27:56Speaker 10: a noticeable hogi and dark red eyes.
- 1:27:59Speaker 6: He where's the standard furniture Future? Where's the standard future foundation?
- 1:28:04Speaker 10: Suit and tie uniform?
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: Fun? What is our names? He's a Kamakura and.
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: That's that's not the name I have here. But I
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: still want this game to be over so correct. I've
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: got to cumyji.
- 1:28:28Speaker 7: Haa from I'm gonna look him up because he described well,
- 1:28:33Speaker 7: it's a fangan.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: It's Outrageous Killer Killer, which is a spinoff manga.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: Interesting, it's a fangan.
- 1:28:43Speaker 6: I know what that is.
- 1:28:44Speaker 4: Now, you stumped us?
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: I got I mean, I'm not taking any kind of
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: win there because I got absolutely stumped by I guess
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: the gameplay, the meta play.
- 1:28:56Speaker 5: And that is the despair of Don and.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: It all comes back around before we get to the
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: final scores. I'd like to thank a play as you've
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: all killed it. You absolutely killed it. Let's talk Ultra
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: Hope Girls first and foremost. I think it's a fantastic podcast.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: It helped me so much with writing the chaos that
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: was this episode. Caroline Maren. Where can people find Ultra

- 1:30:14Speaker 1: only step you need to take. Caroline, let's talk upcoming projects,
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: anything you'd like to announce. What have you got going
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: on in your life?
- 1:30:22Speaker 7: Yeah, I am hard at work at a couple of
- 1:30:24Speaker 7: different things right now, but I can talk about I
- 1:30:27Speaker 7: just found out that a show I was in called
- 1:30:31Speaker 7: Tyo the Little Bus, which is a preschool show I
- 1:30:34Speaker 7: play at the Titular Bus, just got released so you
- 1:30:38Speaker 7: can watch it on YouTube. Season seven is when I
- 1:30:40Speaker 7: start voicing Taio, which is very exciting. It is for children,
- 1:30:45Speaker 7: so you know it's for preschoolers.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: But friends who have preschoolers will be getting a link
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: sent to them. Absolutely nice, that's lovely. I will also
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: include a link in the show notes for anyone listening
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: who has preschoolers. You know, that could be true, that
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: might be a thing.
- 1:31:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Personal socials, Caroline, Maren do you want to be found online?
- 1:31:08Speaker 5: I can be found.
- 1:31:09Speaker 7: I can be found at Caroline O r j E

- 1:31:38Speaker 1: Nice beautiful stuff. And Maddie, do you want to be
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: found as a result of this podcast?
- 1:31:45Speaker 5: Why not?
- 1:31:46Speaker 8: So I am on Instagram. I'm at Mattie Sarlow m
- 1:31:50Speaker 8: A D I S A R L O. I don't
- 1:31:53Speaker 8: post very often though, so people are welcome to follow me.
- 1:31:56Speaker 8: It's not a private account, but you might not see
- 1:31:59Speaker 8: much from me. I usually I just mostly use my
- 1:32:01Speaker 8: Instagram to like hunt and gather for memes to show
- 1:32:05Speaker 8: my fiance and.
- 1:32:07Speaker 6: That's for sure.
- 1:32:08Speaker 5: But every now and then, nice, I'll post something.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, look, just follow Mattie as well to
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: complete the set of Ultra hopekills them all and Aaron
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: very exciting. Can we talk? Sequel to Fane.

- 1:32:27Speaker 4: release date March fifteenth. We'll be dropping in physical and
- 1:32:31Speaker 4: ebook form, Thane, it's prequel because Raka is a sequel
- 1:32:37Speaker 4: is out now in regular book, ebook and audiobook. If

- 1:32:52Speaker 4: Thank you to these incredible women, my dear friends. It's
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: always a joy working with you, and it was such
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: a joy to watch you triumph yet again. And I
- 1:33:01Speaker 4: can't wait to see what else you guys are going
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: to do in the future. But I gotta go, bye
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: bye ah.
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: All right, and looks it's fitting that Aaron won't necessarily
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: be here for the final scores because Aaron left left
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: his team and Maddie's joined its punishment time, so there
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: is only one team and therefore there is only one winner,
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: but Oldra could you read those final scores? Just for.
- 1:33:30Speaker 6: Aaron of Polyculma had sixteen, but it's punishment time absolutely
- 1:33:36Speaker 6: with the ultimate victory with twenty nine points.
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: Yeah, the Ultra Hope girls.
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: When you are a united friends, you have defeated this Monacuma.
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us for this. This
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: has been an absolute blast. I'm sorry the quickfire round
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: was so weird, but the rest of it was a
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: lot of fun.

- 1:34:04Speaker 5: was just a lot of fun.
