- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and it's time right now for today's word. Leave it
- 0:08Speaker 1: at the door, Leave it at the door. Psalm thirty
- 0:13Speaker 1: four to six says this poor man cried, and the
- 0:17Speaker 1: Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.
- 0:21Speaker 1: You know, life brings stress, deadlines, frustrations, and moments that
- 0:26Speaker 1: weigh heavily on our hearts. We deal with people who
- 0:29Speaker 1: misunderstand us, responsibilities that stretch us, and circumstances that seem
- 0:36Speaker 1: beyond our control. But God never intended for us to
- 0:39Speaker 1: carry the weight of the world on our shoulders, especially
- 0:43Speaker 1: not in the place that should refresh and restore us,
- 0:48Speaker 1: our homes. Your home is meant to be a refuge,
- 0:51Speaker 1: a safe place, a sanctuary where God's peace dwells. Yet
- 0:57Speaker 1: many of us walk through the front door carrying every
- 1:00Speaker 1: thing we picked up throughout the day, the pressure, the offense,
- 1:03Speaker 1: the irritation, the disappointment, the worry, and without meaning to,
- 1:08Speaker 1: we allow what happened out there to steal the joy,
- 1:13Speaker 1: the harmony, and the rest within our own walls. There's
- 1:18Speaker 1: a story of a man who kept a small potted
- 1:21Speaker 1: tree beside his back door. Every evening, just before he
- 1:26Speaker 1: walked inside, he would pause and he would touch the
- 1:29Speaker 1: branches of the tree. One day, a friend asked the man,
- 1:34Speaker 1: why were you doing that. The man smiled and he said,
- 1:38Speaker 1: this is my trouble tree. I leave all my troubles
- 1:41Speaker 1: on this tree before I walk into my house. I
- 1:45Speaker 1: refuse to let the stress of the world follow me inside.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I hang it here and then God handles it. Oh
- 1:54Speaker 1: what a powerful picture. It doesn't mean the problems magically disappear.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Means we make a choice to trust God with whatever
- 2:03Speaker 1: we can't fix, and protect the atmosphere of our home
- 2:06Speaker 1: with intentional joy. Come on, Jesus, are you carrying things
- 2:10Speaker 1: you were never meant to carry? Are you bringing home
- 2:13Speaker 1: frustrations that steal peace from your family? Are you allowing
- 2:17Speaker 1: daily stress to shape your mood, your words, or your environment.
- 2:22Speaker 1: You may not have a physical tree outside your door,
- 2:26Speaker 1: but you can have a spiritual one, a place where
- 2:29Speaker 1: you prayerfully leave every burden with God. Before you walk
- 2:34Speaker 1: into your home, you need to pause and say, Lord,
- 2:38Speaker 1: I release the stress, the worry, the heaviness, and the frustration.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I leave it with you. My home is my place
- 2:46Speaker 1: of peace. I will have peace in my home. Psalms
- 2:50Speaker 1: thirty four reminds us that when we cry out, the
- 2:53Speaker 1: Lord hears and saves us out of all of our troubles,
- 2:58Speaker 1: not some, not the ones we can fix, all of
- 3:03Speaker 1: our troubles. He's your burden bearer, he's your problem solver.
- 3:07Speaker 1: He is your rest and your refuge. So today make
- 3:11Speaker 1: a decision to leave it at the door, leave your home,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and let your home be a place where joy lives,
- 3:18Speaker 1: love flows, and God's peace rules and rains. Oh Father God,
- 3:23Speaker 1: thank you that no matter our circumstances, we don't have
- 3:26Speaker 1: to live stressed out or carrying our burdens into the
- 3:28Speaker 1: place where our family needs our best. Thank you that
- 3:32Speaker 1: you are a very present help in trouble, and that
- 3:35Speaker 1: we can leave every worry and concern with you. We
- 3:38Speaker 1: choose joy, we choose peace and gratitude. You are our
- 3:41Speaker 1: refuge and our strength. In Jesus' name. Hey, that's your
- 3:45Speaker 1: word for today. Take it applied to your everyday life,
- 3:48Speaker 1: and you continue to be encouraged and inspired. Here on
- 3:50Speaker 1: your early morning praise party with me, your girl, Sherry Mackie.
- 3:53Speaker 1: As you leave it at the door,
