- 0:03Speaker 1: Well, you've got seven time All Star and viral eagle
- 0:09Speaker 1: Man at the pro Brian mccannon with us right now,
- 0:13Speaker 1: so on TV's across the country and on YouTube, all
- 0:18Speaker 1: over all of our platforms. For one minute, we were like,
- 0:21Speaker 1: let's just turn around and look at one shot.
- 0:23Speaker 2: The only shot we honestly, the one shot we looked
- 0:25Speaker 2: at all day.
- 0:26Speaker 3: I heard you, I was, I was teeing off and
- 0:28Speaker 3: heard you said, let's see what be back? That was
- 0:30Speaker 3: on eighteen and I bladed it. I didn't hit the
- 0:32Speaker 3: shot I was. I was looking to him and I
- 0:34Speaker 3: thought I was long, and then I must have. I
- 0:35Speaker 3: called it a groove, a groove low, and I got
- 0:38Speaker 3: lucky there.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Were you were you like, oh man, eight day is annoying,
- 0:42Speaker 1: and now I gotta hit this. It's in my head clearly.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Whatever it was, it worked exactly. Devil on your shoulder
- 0:47Speaker 1: was a positive vibe.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I was looking to put it on the green and
- 0:50Speaker 3: two putt. These greens are no joke fast, yeah, and
- 0:53Speaker 3: you got to no down grain into the grain. I
- 0:55Speaker 3: don't know any of that. So like I'm putting blonde.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Oh.
- 0:57Speaker 5: At the country clubs, you guys play in Atlanta with
- 0:59Speaker 5: frenchie hero.
- 1:00Speaker 2: They don't have they don't have grain. They have a
- 1:03Speaker 2: butler that comes out and makes the green all the time. Uh,
- 1:07Speaker 2: poor me. Yeah, what was you?
- 1:09Speaker 4: B Mac and Jeff Frankcore putting to their heart's delight.
- 1:14Speaker 4: They love it. Jeff, can you come out and play? No,
- 1:17Speaker 4: I'm gonna stay inside and play my xbox.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I haven't played with Jeff and and in two month
- 1:22Speaker 3: three months.
- 1:23Speaker 5: Well, he's been at thirty eight the whole time in
- 1:25Speaker 5: his problem beach house in Pensacola.
- 1:27Speaker 3: He's got he's got four kids under twelve. He's he's
- 1:29Speaker 3: running around.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:32Speaker 6: So how's life for you?
- 1:34Speaker 2: It's great.
- 1:35Speaker 6: What are you up to?
- 1:36Speaker 3: Playing a lot of golf? YEP, I could tell yeah,
- 1:39Speaker 3: coaching my kids. I got a son and a daughter.
- 1:41Speaker 3: My daughter does cheer, so I'm going to practice and uh,
- 1:45Speaker 3: baseball ended, and now my son's into basketball, so we
- 1:48Speaker 3: flip flipped h between baseball and basketball. I coached the
- 1:51Speaker 3: baseball team, so it's Uh, I'm enjoying retirement.
- 1:54Speaker 5: You have to go to the cheerleading events because people
- 1:56Speaker 5: that I know that have had daughters that have been cheerleaders. Yeah,
- 1:59Speaker 5: so you go to the cheerlead event all day for
- 2:01Speaker 5: three minutes.
- 2:02Speaker 2: You just sit there.
- 2:03Speaker 5: You sit there from eight am to eight pm and
- 2:04Speaker 5: they do three minutes like one pm, and then you
- 2:06Speaker 5: have to stay.
- 2:07Speaker 6: Yep, what do you do to kill time?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Sit in my car?
- 2:13Speaker 6: You're like, what, what's what's the kill time for? Brian Mcan?
- 2:16Speaker 1: Is it like just doom scrolling on the phone, listen
- 2:18Speaker 1: to a podcast, rip music, Take a nap.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I take take a nap. I take my sprinter van.
- 2:23Speaker 3: So we went to five locations outside of our city,
- 2:26Speaker 3: Like we went to Louisville, Kentucky, Biloxi, Orlando, and I
- 2:30Speaker 3: get in the sprinter van and take a nap in between.
- 2:32Speaker 3: But it's it's crazy. I mean, it's a it's a huge,
- 2:34Speaker 3: huge business. I didn't know it existed.
- 2:37Speaker 6: Yeah, uh are you watching ball? Oh?
- 2:40Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:40Speaker 6: Do you hear it from Braves fans? Like what's going
- 2:43Speaker 6: on this year?
- 2:44Speaker 3: They got hit with the injury bugger really and and
- 2:47Speaker 3: and they've had some guys go down in big, big
- 2:49Speaker 3: spots and they just haven't really been able to to
- 2:52Speaker 3: to stay consistent or get consistent.
- 2:54Speaker 6: I've got one for you.
- 2:55Speaker 1: So I've been on some radio shows in Atlanta and
- 2:58Speaker 1: one time I guess I've some fans off because I'm
- 3:01Speaker 1: like Braves fans, you're jaded lately. The teams in the
- 3:05Speaker 1: playoffs every year. You keep your players for the most part.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Freddy's different story, but you've kept a lot of your players.
- 3:10Speaker 1: You won a World Series in the last five years. Now,
- 3:12Speaker 1: they most fans would take that.
- 3:14Speaker 3: But they have a great core stuff to build off of.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I mean they you know, Michael Harris has gotten really hot.
- 3:20Speaker 3: That gives them an extra bat to lengthen it out.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I think that's kind of what they've been missing, is
- 3:26Speaker 3: a couple of bats to lengthen the lineup out where Uh,
- 3:29Speaker 3: you know, you got to have production from the bottom
- 3:31Speaker 3: of your order.
- 3:31Speaker 2: You can't.
- 3:32Speaker 3: You can't rely on the same two or three four
- 3:34Speaker 3: guys every night.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Snick coming back, you play, you play, and both. Yeah.
- 3:40Speaker 3: He was my double a manager and he's the one
- 3:42Speaker 3: that told me I was getting called up, and he
- 3:46Speaker 3: he told me to come to his room. And when
- 3:48Speaker 3: when I was getting called up, no shirt on, Harry
- 3:52Speaker 3: Chess and He's like, get over here, hug, just some
- 3:55Speaker 3: just some shorts on. So it was like that's a
- 3:57Speaker 3: memory that I that I take. I'll take to the
- 3:59Speaker 3: grave and you know, you get the biggest news of
- 4:01Speaker 3: your life from one of the best guys I know.
- 4:04Speaker 2: So he's my favorite.
- 4:06Speaker 6: That's cool. Have you been watching cal Riley this year?
- 4:09Speaker 3: It's incredible.
- 4:09Speaker 2: What the fifty, bro, he's got fifteen.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I can't even wrap my head around it.
- 4:13Speaker 2: And he you know, you had a lot of homers,
- 4:15Speaker 2: but fifties way more.
- 4:16Speaker 3: I hit twenty two. He's I mean, this is like
- 4:19Speaker 3: he had that in April or May like it was.
- 4:21Speaker 3: It's crazy what he's doing. I went to the All
- 4:23Speaker 3: Star homer in Derby and he is so in sync.
- 4:28Speaker 3: His whole body is just working perfectly together and like
- 4:31Speaker 3: he's not missing. I can't fathom it. You ever do
- 4:35Speaker 3: you fathom it?
- 4:36Speaker 2: No?
- 4:36Speaker 5: I mean, I know, fifty homers plus homers as a
- 4:39Speaker 5: catchers because most of the time, first of all, catchers
- 4:42Speaker 5: don't get that many of beasts to get to fifty,
- 4:44Speaker 5: you know, he has d h a little bit, but
- 4:45Speaker 5: to hit fifty in whatever, one hundred, he's hitting a
- 4:49Speaker 5: homer in like almost every other game.
- 4:50Speaker 2: It's it's crazy.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Especially I told someone like, I'm anxious to see August
- 4:54Speaker 3: in September because that's no I know, that's the crazy.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I mean, that's when August like fifteenth would come around,
- 4:59Speaker 3: I'd be like, uhh, I don't feel the same, you know,
- 5:02Speaker 3: and then you just grind down through September.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Look at Will Smith in LA right the last three years,
- 5:07Speaker 5: his second half numbers have just plummeted.
- 5:09Speaker 2: It's hard. It's hard. It's hard to keep yourself up.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Yeahs do didn't get that get enough credit for how
- 5:14Speaker 3: tough it is to carry a staff.
- 5:16Speaker 2: And I think crowds will agree with us too, because
- 5:18Speaker 2: obviously he called.
- 5:19Speaker 5: But when they do, like the ops plus and the
- 5:22Speaker 5: ops against the whole league, it should just be a catcher,
- 5:24Speaker 5: big staff. For me, I agree, because you can't explain
- 5:27Speaker 5: to people how hard it is what a catcher does
- 5:28Speaker 5: compared to you know, you look out there and in
- 5:31Speaker 5: French he's out there working on his batting stance and
- 5:34Speaker 5: you're a backtor chasing balls around.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Try hoping that you know, you don't have to chase
- 5:37Speaker 2: balls at the backstop the whole time. Hitting came second.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah, if you if you could, if if John Smoltz,
- 5:41Speaker 3: if you couldn't, couldn't work with him, you're not catching
- 5:44Speaker 3: Game one in the playoffs and that, so you had
- 5:45Speaker 3: to make sure that was locked down and then whatever
- 5:48Speaker 3: you got offensively was was a bonus.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Yeah, but how much is that heat in Atlanta? Bug?
- 5:53Speaker 6: You too?
- 5:53Speaker 4: You talk about August fifteenth. I remember one series in
- 5:57Speaker 4: August we played against you and d Ross. David Ross
- 5:59Speaker 4: was there and he caught the day game and you
- 6:02Speaker 4: caught the previous three games, and I played the night
- 6:05Speaker 4: game and then day game because Choos was out, and
- 6:09Speaker 4: both of you said the same thing. David Roscos he goes,
- 6:12Speaker 4: oh man, he goes, I'm too old to play these
- 6:14Speaker 4: day games. They gotta let that young guy McCann play.
- 6:17Speaker 4: And the night before you go, man, I can't be
- 6:20Speaker 4: playing all these games in a row. It's too hot
- 6:22Speaker 4: down here. So how bad is that?
- 6:25Speaker 3: It was a grind? It was a grind. But when
- 6:28Speaker 3: Dave Ross was there, he was my favorite backup neo
- 6:32Speaker 3: that I ever had. He taught me so much about
- 6:34Speaker 3: the game and we hung out late night all the
- 6:37Speaker 3: time and talked about the game and how to maneuver
- 6:40Speaker 3: pitchers through games, and he's one of my favorites.
- 6:46Speaker 1: OKKP, this is your first arena club experience. We're gonna
- 6:49Speaker 1: open a slab pack together. So first off, we're gonna
- 6:51Speaker 1: buy one of those twenty five dollars slab packs and
- 6:54Speaker 1: we get to see what is in the pack. There
- 6:56Speaker 1: it is the Grail, which is the best card in
- 6:59Speaker 1: the pack and worth the most. There are some other
- 7:02Speaker 1: cards that we're chasing, and you can see the entire
- 7:04Speaker 1: lineup so that you know what you're in the running for.
- 7:06Speaker 1: There's the Yamamoto signed card. Now let's open up our
- 7:10Speaker 1: pack and.
- 7:11Speaker 6: See how we do.
- 7:13Speaker 1: We have ourselves a really cool graphic and then a
- 7:19Speaker 1: show heo Tani fifty to fifty card from last year.
- 7:23Speaker 1: What do you want to do? Should we sell it
- 7:25Speaker 1: right back to them for sixteen or should we keep it?
- 7:28Speaker 2: You should give it to me, I'll.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Keep good answer, Fine, I will give it to you.
- 7:33Speaker 6: Since the Blue Jays didn't getto Tani, you can get.
- 7:35Speaker 1: This fifty to fifty card instead. Use the code foul
- 7:38Speaker 1: foul to get yourself twenty percent off your first slab
- 7:40Speaker 1: pack or card purchase. Yes, you get to keep that
- 7:43Speaker 1: card if you want it. They send it to you
- 7:45Speaker 1: foul at Arena club dot com slash foul. Hey. So
- 7:49Speaker 1: a lot of times we'll bring on a former player
- 7:50Speaker 1: and be like, actually, we just did that recently with
- 7:53Speaker 1: someone like, Oh, do you like the way this rule
- 7:55Speaker 1: is now or this part of the game is now?
- 7:58Speaker 6: Can't shift anymore? I go, do you watch baseball now?
- 8:02Speaker 2: Like?
- 8:03Speaker 6: Are you kidding me?
- 8:04Speaker 3: I mean my average went from two eighty five to
- 8:06Speaker 3: two forty two thirty five quick And then it was
- 8:09Speaker 3: hard to change your what you've done your whole life
- 8:12Speaker 3: and the cutter. I felt like I had to cover
- 8:15Speaker 3: that first and I couldn't go the other way with it.
- 8:18Speaker 3: And if I had that approach, I was going to
- 8:19Speaker 3: hit twelve to fifteen home runs. Chipper pulled me in
- 8:22Speaker 3: his room one night and goes, hey, look what type
- 8:25Speaker 3: of hitter do you want to be? You want to
- 8:26Speaker 3: try to hit three hundred with fifteen or you want
- 8:28Speaker 3: to try to do to eighty with like twenty five.
- 8:30Speaker 3: And I was like, I'll try to eighty with twenty five.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I couldn't. I couldn't leave to the opposite field left center.
- 8:36Speaker 3: My best ball would go to the track. So I had
- 8:38Speaker 3: to figure out and I was like, I could take
- 8:39Speaker 3: that same pitch and pull that for a homer.
- 8:42Speaker 2: So I sacrificed average for power.
- 8:45Speaker 6: They would just create this vacuum.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Yeah, when that first started, I was not pretty for
- 8:50Speaker 1: the fan experience.
- 8:50Speaker 3: And then in New York it's so short and right
- 8:53Speaker 3: field it looks like there's four out infielders over there,
- 8:56Speaker 3: so there was no there was not many hits over there.
- 8:58Speaker 6: For me, it was crazy.
- 9:01Speaker 4: So would you So do you think Royce Lewis just
- 9:03Speaker 4: said the other day, he was like, ah, I don't
- 9:05Speaker 4: want to I don't want to change mid season because
- 9:08Speaker 4: I'm giving up thirty games of arbitration numbers. And it
- 9:11Speaker 4: was kind of, you know, kind of a moment where
- 9:14Speaker 4: he said the truth, but it was hard to hear
- 9:16Speaker 4: a player say that. Would you have had to have change?
- 9:20Speaker 4: Would you have been able to change if the shift
- 9:22Speaker 4: was implemented early in your career, say year two before
- 9:26Speaker 4: you had a contract.
- 9:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:28Speaker 3: When I first came up, my first two three years,
- 9:31Speaker 3: I was left center, left center, left center, and my
- 9:34Speaker 3: average was was better. And then as I as I
- 9:37Speaker 3: tried to, you know, leave the Dopps away, it wasn't happening.
- 9:41Speaker 3: And I would have just stayed to left center, and
- 9:44Speaker 3: it probably would I probably would have been a better
- 9:45Speaker 3: player if I would have done that.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I got I got to pool happy.
- 9:50Speaker 3: And if I could go back, I tell people, if
- 9:51Speaker 3: I could go back, I would I would do it.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Freddie Freeman does, I would have hit every ball in
- 9:55Speaker 3: VP and in the cage to left center field and
- 9:58Speaker 3: then try to pull in the game. But it would
- 10:00Speaker 3: have kept my front shoulder tucked in a little better.
- 10:02Speaker 3: But when I was in New York, I was literally
- 10:04Speaker 3: I tried to hit a home run on the upper
- 10:06Speaker 3: deck every every.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Bud in May Right, you get all right, Hey, the
- 10:15Speaker 1: Braves are split and playing time with their catchers pretty evenly.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Do you think that's the future in the sport? Related
- 10:21Speaker 1: to what you're saying, a lot of guys can't hang
- 10:23Speaker 1: through the whole season, and then the playoff numbers recently
- 10:27Speaker 1: post catchers are brutal.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd like to see them go back to our
- 10:32Speaker 3: days of one hundred and thirty games. If you're an
- 10:36Speaker 3: elite guy, when you look around the league, I mean,
- 10:39Speaker 3: it's the position is you know, it's in a good
- 10:42Speaker 3: spot at the top, and it's it's a tough one,
- 10:44Speaker 3: you know. And I think that the framing has become
- 10:47Speaker 3: such a big, a big part of the game, and
- 10:51Speaker 3: you know, so split in time, Like I'd like to
- 10:54Speaker 3: see guys catch catch more. If you're a frontline guy.
- 10:58Speaker 6: Can most of them handle it? Though?
- 11:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Anyone, So, yeah, you guys did it, but a JD.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I mean you're around the clubhouse every week. You think
- 11:07Speaker 1: most guys can handle it and want to.
- 11:09Speaker 5: And most guys haven't been brought up to do it,
- 11:11Speaker 5: right the cross shacking it said, they haven't been brought.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Up to do it.
- 11:14Speaker 3: I think one hundred and twenty twenty games of years
- 11:17Speaker 3: is a good number for for a frontline guy.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just hard. Now it's one hundred. Now that
- 11:22Speaker 5: you get you guys can say, oh it's a hundred,
- 11:23Speaker 5: you're gonna get tired.
- 11:24Speaker 3: But I just and if you can really hit now
- 11:26Speaker 3: that now that we didn't have a DH, so like
- 11:28Speaker 3: I was always coming to pinch it on the eighth.
- 11:30Speaker 3: But if they had a if they had a if
- 11:32Speaker 3: we had the d H, I would have probably I
- 11:34Speaker 3: would probably played one hundred and sixty two games, I think,
- 11:36Speaker 3: I mean I would have caught it.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I was, eh, how bad was it?
- 11:39Speaker 5: When was there anything worse than you know? You you
- 11:41Speaker 5: caught a lot, I caught a lot. You'd be losing
- 11:45Speaker 5: and in the manager be like, b Mac, I need
- 11:48Speaker 5: you to come in an eight, try to get it,
- 11:51Speaker 5: and then you got to catch the night.
- 11:52Speaker 2: You're just like, oh whatever.
- 11:53Speaker 6: My day off.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Yeah, and then it's a mental like when you go
- 11:56Speaker 3: in and you go you know, you don't get the knock.
- 11:58Speaker 2: You're like, all right, They're like, but you got to get.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Your your mind. It's more for your mind. Yeah, all
- 12:03Speaker 3: days are more for like us just sitting back. But
- 12:06Speaker 3: that was David Ross.
- 12:07Speaker 2: He's like that.
- 12:08Speaker 3: He said it all the time. My goal is to
- 12:10Speaker 3: make sure you get a full off day. And he
- 12:12Speaker 3: was the best. He was the best.
- 12:14Speaker 4: I'm impressed that your beard still looks exactly the same
- 12:18Speaker 4: and you haven't put on a pound since you've been
- 12:20Speaker 4: done playing. That's all I have to say. And I've
- 12:22Speaker 4: just been watching. I've just been looking at the screen.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Some people age. You haven't aged a bit. I thought
- 12:28Speaker 4: you looked like you were forty years old when you
- 12:31Speaker 4: were twenty six.
- 12:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 3: And you know what the crazy part if you go
- 12:34Speaker 3: back and look when I was in New York when
- 12:35Speaker 3: I had to shave, I looked like I was fifteen.
- 12:37Speaker 3: So I got an ace in the hole when I
- 12:39Speaker 3: get older, when this comes off. I look like I'm
- 12:41Speaker 3: twenty five, twenty three. Yeah, you like we get older,
- 12:44Speaker 3: But I got a little gray, I got some gray.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all great.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I'm holder for a while and then you blitz everyone
- 12:49Speaker 1: with the clean shave, like, hey, I just went backwards
- 12:52Speaker 1: ten fifteen years you got.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I got ace in the hole for m Yeah, down
- 12:54Speaker 3: the road.
- 12:54Speaker 2: All right, I got two more questions for you. One
- 12:57Speaker 2: Hall of Fame.
- 12:58Speaker 5: You were on the ballot last year, right, yeah, how
- 13:01Speaker 5: many votes did you get?
- 13:02Speaker 2: I know he wasn't five us. Yeah, it wasn't enough
- 13:04Speaker 2: to I don't understand.
- 13:06Speaker 5: For a catcher and you played in the same air,
- 13:08Speaker 5: close to the same area, you're a little bit behind me.
- 13:09Speaker 2: But seven All.
- 13:11Speaker 5: Stars, six Silver Sluggers, World Series champion. And this is
- 13:16Speaker 5: kind of a personal thing too. Why are catchers so undervalued?
- 13:18Speaker 5: Like you look at Jorge Basadi, you look at you,
- 13:21Speaker 5: you look at some of the great catchers that we
- 13:23Speaker 5: played against in or around. Yeah, and they get two
- 13:26Speaker 5: percent pen votes, twelve votes? Why why is that a thing?
- 13:30Speaker 5: Why don't they they to me they need to compare
- 13:32Speaker 5: catchers to catchers in every era, right, yes, because they'd say, oh, well,
- 13:36Speaker 5: dada da, he didn't do this and his ops plus
- 13:38Speaker 5: was this.
- 13:39Speaker 2: But also you only you played less games.
- 13:41Speaker 5: You were getting the crap beat out of you behind
- 13:42Speaker 5: the play all these things that they look at your
- 13:45Speaker 5: wars down, your wars down because you don't play as
- 13:47Speaker 5: many games.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah, for me, I think what we did thirty years
- 13:52Speaker 3: down the road is going to look way better than
- 13:56Speaker 3: it does now because of what you just said.
- 13:57Speaker 2: There's not a lot of guys that are playing the games.
- 14:00Speaker 3: It up the numbers that were put that we put,
- 14:03Speaker 3: you know that we were able to put up. So
- 14:04Speaker 3: I think down the road, when guys look at the game,
- 14:07Speaker 3: I think it'll change the way they look at it.
- 14:10Speaker 3: But I think right now, uh, you know, you're just
- 14:12Speaker 3: in that era of you know, there's not there's how
- 14:15Speaker 3: many how many catchers are in the Hall of Fame.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Not many. There's like what, I don't that third basement
- 14:20Speaker 2: like yeah.
- 14:21Speaker 3: But yeah, it's just it, it doesn't get the uh,
- 14:25Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:25Speaker 6: I'm with you.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Every they should all it should all be just compared
- 14:28Speaker 3: to us, to the catching position, not not first base.
- 14:32Speaker 1: And twenty twenty twenty game has been around a long time,
- 14:38Speaker 1: twenty it's the second fewest third base third base.
- 14:43Speaker 6: It's crazy crazy. What was your other one? Oh?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Mine's on golf? Can I ask a golf question?
- 14:48Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 14:48Speaker 5: Okay, First of all, they want to know easier to
- 14:50Speaker 5: catch small Tutson Tanaka.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Who was the easiest? See who was the easiest guy?
- 14:55Speaker 2: The easiest? Yeah, not the toughest. We can name a
- 14:58Speaker 2: million guys are tough.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Out of those, as you just mentioned. I never caught man.
- 15:03Speaker 2: He never came, never was he was.
- 15:08Speaker 3: He didn't leave your glove. Yeah, he literally, Like the
- 15:12Speaker 3: sinker ballers were tough. The lefties for me were the hardest.
- 15:15Speaker 3: The cutters in and holding that I don't I did.
- 15:18Speaker 3: I worked better to the right than the left. So
- 15:20Speaker 3: like to hold that cutter, you know, anything coming this way,
- 15:23Speaker 3: I did well, But anything going that way, like my
- 15:25Speaker 3: hiffs didn't work. To block that slider down this way.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Cec was hard for me to catch. But I just
- 15:32Speaker 3: those sinker ballers when you don't get that bottom of
- 15:34Speaker 3: the zone, you don't stick it, and you get that
- 15:36Speaker 3: look and you're like, all right, dude, my bad, I'll
- 15:37Speaker 3: get it. But you know, Honey would get that thing.
- 15:41Speaker 3: He threw a one seamer that just you'd have to
- 15:43Speaker 3: get under it and and.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Really really fight. Hey here, I got a question for you.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Do you think if you caught on a knee your
- 15:49Speaker 3: whole career you would have played longer?
- 15:51Speaker 2: I mean, I played nineteen. I don't know, I know,
- 15:52Speaker 2: do you think? But I think I think it would
- 15:54Speaker 2: have been different. I don't know. If people ask.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Body would have heard him, I think I would have
- 15:58Speaker 3: I could have played a couple more years.
- 15:59Speaker 2: If I probably could have stole a couple more years
- 16:01Speaker 2: at the end. Yeah, you know, but I don't know.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I don't know. You never know. It's easy to say that.
- 16:05Speaker 5: But also, dude, they're so exposed, Like the lower there's
- 16:09Speaker 5: so much more body exposed. Like I always tried to
- 16:11Speaker 5: like hide behind my shine guards too, right, I was
- 16:13Speaker 5: always like, all right, let me seek it. So I'm
- 16:15Speaker 5: trying to hide behind my chest protector, my shine guards,
- 16:17Speaker 5: so the ball would hit something that was protected.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Yeah, nowadays everything is out.
- 16:21Speaker 3: My last year in Atlanta, I work with South Asano
- 16:23Speaker 3: all spring training, so like to do the knee. And
- 16:25Speaker 3: then I was calling a game in spring training and
- 16:27Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm more worried about my setup than like, yeah,
- 16:29Speaker 3: getting the reaction of the hitter, and you know, so
- 16:32Speaker 3: I was just like, I can't do it.
- 16:34Speaker 2: All right, can you win this thing golf? You make
- 16:36Speaker 2: the eagle? No, I can't win it. How many points
- 16:39Speaker 2: twenty eight? That's good.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I'm looking to get top twenty five. That was my goal,
- 16:43Speaker 3: top twenty finished with all these great golfers, like, I'll
- 16:45Speaker 3: be very happy.
- 16:46Speaker 2: With how much have you improved? Okay?
- 16:48Speaker 5: Because yeah, we played together golf. What it's been almost
- 16:51Speaker 5: it had been ten years, but it's been seven or
- 16:53Speaker 5: eight years.
- 16:53Speaker 2: And I played with you and it was yeah, it
- 16:55Speaker 2: wasn't great. It wasn't great.
- 16:57Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, the big you played, the big high was
- 17:00Speaker 5: Skippy your cat.
- 17:01Speaker 2: You remember, Oh yeah?
- 17:02Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 17:03Speaker 2: And now now I look and I see you making
- 17:05Speaker 2: eagles on eighteen.
- 17:07Speaker 3: My driver's gotten better every You never hit driver, You
- 17:09Speaker 3: always hit three one. I know. So I'm hitting my
- 17:11Speaker 3: driver now, that's like my best club in my back.
- 17:13Speaker 3: I don't hit it far, but I it's I love it.
- 17:16Speaker 3: My kids go to school and I go, ready, is
- 17:18Speaker 3: it true?
- 17:19Speaker 5: Frenchy told me that you just go as soon as
- 17:22Speaker 5: your kids leave. You have a simulator in your house.
- 17:23Speaker 5: You just go downstairs and you just hit balls in
- 17:25Speaker 5: the simulator all day long.
- 17:26Speaker 3: No, I go to the court, but yeah, I'm on
- 17:28Speaker 3: the simulator when i'm I go on the similar when
- 17:30Speaker 3: when I'm struggling, Oh, like when I when I'm but
- 17:32Speaker 3: I'm at the course a lot.
- 17:34Speaker 6: Simulator at night, right is that more of a night bench?
- 17:36Speaker 2: She said, he goes there any anytime he has two minutes.
- 17:39Speaker 2: B Max down there whacking balls in the simulator.
- 17:42Speaker 6: I am, oh, that's it's one minute. You can go
- 17:44Speaker 6: down there and you.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Can turn it on and let's go exactly.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Well, be Max, thanks for joining us, Thanks for being
- 17:50Speaker 1: part of the experience for us here calling one.
- 17:53Speaker 2: I can't, we can't another shot.
- 17:57Speaker 6: Did you get it on?
- 17:58Speaker 3: Did you get it on the camera?
- 17:59Speaker 2: I don't know if we have care. So there was
- 18:01Speaker 2: a drone watch.
- 18:01Speaker 1: There was a drone too. Yeah, there were cameras on you.
- 18:04Speaker 1: It's almost like you were back in the big leagues,
- 18:06Speaker 1: like ninth. They didn't clutch moment. Everyone's watching for one
- 18:09Speaker 1: second and I worked out I had looked put it
- 18:11Speaker 1: together like it's it.
- 18:12Speaker 2: I was like, no, it rolled night. It was nice.
- 18:14Speaker 2: It was nice. One hop little was perfect right right.
- 18:17Speaker 1: It took some time yeah, you didn't think it was
- 18:19Speaker 1: going in and then it dropped down.
- 18:20Speaker 6: It was nice.
- 18:21Speaker 2: I know it was gonna be closed, I just didn't
