- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Swilight Podcast.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Thank you for being here.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: Today is gonna be a whole bunch of rambling, but that's what makes podcasting fun.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: So let me ask you this.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Are you like me and like all sports that you just like uh focus on one?
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: And what is your main sport and what's the reason why?
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Well, I focus on one.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: Goes back to what you said in a previous episode because kind of a sense of community, what I know.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: I've played a lot of them.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: I've played a lot of them, so my interest is pretty broad in terms of playing, but I like college football because of the atmosphere.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Uh if you don't mind I don't want to tell you, pro sports often just bores me.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Just bores the heck out of me because I just think we're going through the motions.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: That's my view.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: And although pro foot, I mean, uh although college football has changed a lot due to all the changes recently, it still has that sense and that atmosphere of it's a college sport and it is filled full of people that have that recognition of where they're from and just the the excitement and the energy.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: So I kind of feed off that I'm watching a game and it means something.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: And to me, college football has has those components to it.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: So that's that's my number one.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Do with with me, I look I look at college football and broad sports a little bit different.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: And yes, I do feel like sometimes they go to the motion until you get to the playoffs.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Or if I play through the season, I like their playoff spots online, then you can tell teams are really going after it at that point.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: But I think first sports have more uh technical side of it because you're having you're having that okay, I'm getting paid what I love to do, and that that's now in college sports as well.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Which I'm all for that.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: But and it's funny that in college sports are like a mini a mini what I c what I call Pro League, you might as well say now.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Because you got the transport portal, you got this, you got that, and you got people making more money in college than a bill besides paying off their toys and and which I'm all for that because if you're good at something and you meant to do something, and why not get paid, you know, why not get paid to do it like everybody else, you know, has and I think both more is you have to you have to yes, it's more boring to make it honor to the average person.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: But if you focus on the more technical uh side of things, then you're in the history of it.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: It reminds me when I was introduced to NASCAR only only because I went to a camp.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: That was all about NASCAR and this and the other, all about all about disabilities.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: I talk about big bigger junctions all the time on my own time.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: That's the only reason why I got into NASCAR.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: And the only reason I bring it up is because the radio podcast I can listen to all day long.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: The TV the TV podcast forced me to death.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: Now, some NFL teams do it right on the radio podcast where they can be in a day up, some do not.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: And I'm just like, God, even if you're getting bored out, please give me something like the facts about your, you know, about your school, about, you know, the organization, about a player.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: It reminds me, and this is why I think he loved college about ball money, like what's mortar.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Because he knows it, like I sometimes yelling yelling in the megaphone.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: When you have pros, all they do is like press out, so and so, and like not really showing that enthusiasm.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: It reminds me, I it reminds me of almost like they're in pro, they're more playing for themselves.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Not there's anything wrong with that.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: They're playing for themselves, but you will never lose that.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: I don't think we'll ever lose that college association or that town.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: For example, I could be uh Atlanta Falcons pro, but then a I mean a fan, and then move to Charlotte and become a Charlotte or at Texas wherever.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna move there and I can associate with a college team, but where I grew up or where I went to school, I'm gonna have that affiliation with them.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: And I think that's that that we're gonna we can't I don't know if they're gonna lose that in college.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: That's where some of the excitement comes from.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I I agree with that 100%.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: Which also leads to the fact if you show more emphasism that you want to do something, it comes through versus, oh, I don't want to do this, I don't want to do that.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: I'm so bored.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: If you can find a way to trick your mind into um you know being energetic about one thing, one thing or not, then you don't you you'll be shy on how motivation changes more times than not.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: And if you can change your motivate your motivation, then you get more done.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: And then when you get more done, you're like, oh, this is not really this bad.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: You know.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Again, I think that's what life teaches us on finding immunity to um not only finding community, but finding finding ways to get through those walls, whether it'd be doing something sports or not.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Writing a book, playing a video game, running when money is to play a video game or play a sport, or don't any money s selling limited on the lot, or whatever it is, if you can get past the art set and then remember where you came from, you'll have all the motivation to get where you want to go more something.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: So and then I'm saying a sports team that reading a reading a book and being lost in a career is one of the one of my favorite things to do.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: But I think what no matter what your escape is, always trying to find something.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: And something you don't want to do, dig it past that.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Whoa, whoa, uh I don't want to do this, uh this sucks.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: You know, because once you say I don't want to do I don't want to do this anymore, this sucks, you better find a way out of that real quick.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Because three things are gonna need to happen.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: You're gonna need to find what you wanna do.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: A lot of times you have to figure out what you want to do while you're while you're doing the sucky the sucky thing you don't want to do.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: Because the best life you just can't get up and walk away because you still gotta pay you still gotta pay bills and all that stuff.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: So you gotta figure out ways to reward you to reward yourself while you know while um dealing with this lucky part of what you don't wanna do.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: A lot of times not saying all the time, but a lot of times you end up liking what you want to do if you can figure out a pursuit and or if you don't want to do it for the rest of your life, figure out figure out a goal and stick to that goal and that'll help you get through that season as well.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: So with with that being said always try to find something that you'll be willing to do to get through the talky season Whether read a book, maybe you find your best friend, even though you don't like the job or whatever else But always uh appreciate those moments because you never know when they're getting away.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: With that, I really hope you enjoyed this episode and please leave a thumbs up review perfectly and I I hope you uh like this episode so much where you download this episode.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: Show your appreciation, share with your friends because if we get to a hundred dollars from one episode, we're gonna do a live stream.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: I don't know what day we're gonna have to announce it if that happens.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: But that will really help me out and make me keep on what they could go and get this well up to do and always be counting who you are, no matter what situation you're in.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: I'll get thing.
