- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, Welcome to You Girls Gone Hallmark a bonus
- 0:13Speaker 1: episode of Long Story Short the podcast.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I'm Megan, I'm Wendy and voice sounds different, sorry, guys.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Today were discussing The Wedding Veil Unveiled, also known as
- 0:24Speaker 1: the Wedding Veil two, the second in a three part
- 0:29Speaker 1: Love youary Event.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Oh. I like how you said event. I thought you
- 0:33Speaker 2: were gonna say trilogy. I like event.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been a minute since we've been here.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It has. There was no episode last week. It was
- 0:42Speaker 1: a re airing of The Wedding Veil, which we reviewed
- 0:46Speaker 1: in January, and a number of you we went back
- 0:49Speaker 1: and listened. That's been the most popular Hallmark movie of
- 0:53Speaker 1: twenty twenty two.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Wait on our podcast or oh very exciting?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Oh I do. Was gonna save this for news and notes,
- 1:02Speaker 1: but I think we should talk about it now. I
- 1:05Speaker 1: have some news about New Year New Movies.
- 1:09Speaker 2: You guys. She has a print out like this is
- 1:11Speaker 2: never happen before with highlights. Okay, okay.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I saw this press release and I thought it was
- 1:18Speaker 1: very interesting, and I did print it out and highlight
- 1:20Speaker 1: relevant points. So the headline is Hallmark Channel's New Year,
- 1:25Speaker 1: New Movies programming propels network to become number one most
- 1:30Speaker 1: watched in twenty twenty two to date. So here's some
- 1:33Speaker 1: interesting information. New Year New Movies, which was the January event.
- 1:38Speaker 1: The stunt elevated the channel to be the number one
- 1:41Speaker 1: most watched entertainment cable network in the year to date
- 1:45Speaker 1: among households women eighteen plus number one most watched cable network.
- 1:50Speaker 1: That shocks me in twenty twenty two. As a result,
- 1:53Speaker 1: that Networks delivered the number one most watched entertainment cable
- 1:57Speaker 1: program of the week. So not only were they the number
- 2:00Speaker 1: one channel, they had the number one show every week
- 2:02Speaker 1: for four weeks in a.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Row among them.
- 2:04Speaker 1: In eighteen plus, the average viewers numbers of New Year
- 2:10Speaker 1: New Movies was two point six million total viewers, which, guys,
- 2:13Speaker 1: is a lot. It's a lot we used to get, like,
- 2:16Speaker 1: you know, fifteen million people would watch an episode of Friends.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Two point six million is a lot. In twenty twenty two,
- 2:22Speaker 1: the age of streaming. Okay, oh, and one final note,
- 2:26Speaker 1: the original movie premieres increased by fourteen percent the viewers,
- 2:31Speaker 1: fourteen percent among women and eleven percent among total viewers.
- 2:33Speaker 1: So Hallmark is having a moment. And we are here
- 2:36Speaker 1: for it.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Did they say what their number one movie was? I'm
- 2:39Speaker 2: guessing it was the Wedding Veil.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Well, it doesn't say in this particular press release, but
- 2:44Speaker 1: the Wedding Veil did better numbers, I know than any
- 2:48Speaker 1: countdown on a Christmas movie stop it. So I think
- 2:53Speaker 1: it actually was in the three millions. Don't quote me
- 2:56Speaker 1: on that, but I remember seeing that information. The Wedding
- 2:59Speaker 1: Veil did very well.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Oh I'm not I guess I'm like not surprised, but
- 3:03Speaker 2: I like how they're The press release says, you know,
- 3:07Speaker 2: like it was like a it paid off for them.
- 3:09Speaker 2: They do this every year, you know what I mean
- 3:11Speaker 2: This It wasn't like a one time like new fangled
- 3:15Speaker 2: idea for Homewark channel correct.
- 3:18Speaker 1: We've talked before, like why do they bother to group
- 3:22Speaker 1: these movies? But I do think it has I mean
- 3:24Speaker 1: they called it a stunt. I do, yes, stunt some effect.
- 3:29Speaker 1: You want to watch all the movies in the collection,
- 3:31Speaker 1: even if there's no actual ties binding them together.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I can understand that, and I can understand that I
- 3:38Speaker 2: can get people like excited. I'm not excited about Loveuary.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I think it's the stupidest like stunt theme that they
- 3:46Speaker 2: have come up with thus far.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I don't love the name. And the other issue I
- 3:51Speaker 1: have with Loveuary is it's three movies in a trilogy,
- 3:55Speaker 1: one of which they aired in January, which I find odd,
- 3:59Speaker 1: and then it's a fourth standalone movie like.
- 4:02Speaker 2: A random maybe sort of Well, I guess they're all
- 4:06Speaker 2: kind of have a love theme, but I mean that's
- 4:09Speaker 2: allmarking yet, right right.
- 4:11Speaker 1: So I do feel a little bit badly for Welcome
- 4:14Speaker 1: to Mama's because I think it just gets left out
- 4:17Speaker 1: in the cold. It's not part of the wedding Veil hype.
- 4:21Speaker 1: But today we are here to talk the wedding veil unveiled. First,
- 4:25Speaker 1: we have been telling the listeners that we have some
- 4:27Speaker 1: emails that we've been holding on to from the first
- 4:30Speaker 1: Wedding Veil, and so since we're back to talk wedding
- 4:32Speaker 1: veil too, I thought now it would be the time
- 4:34Speaker 1: to share them. Okay, we have gotten more emails about
- 4:36Speaker 1: this movie than any other movie ever, and I'm not
- 4:40Speaker 1: going to read them all, but I just thought I
- 4:43Speaker 1: would give a random sample of some thoughts on the
- 4:45Speaker 1: wedding Veil. Justin says I thought the movie was Okay,
- 4:48Speaker 1: the movie subject was great and refreshing. However, I personally
- 4:51Speaker 1: think it could have been better with some other faces.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong, the actions were good, but I
- 4:56Speaker 1: would have liked to see some other faces that would
- 4:57Speaker 1: have brought a little more flavor to the movie.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Hmm. Interesting, I have so many questions. Flavor Does she
- 5:06Speaker 2: mean diversity?
- 5:07Speaker 1: Well, that's certainly lacking so far this year.
- 5:11Speaker 2: One percent. I actually really like the actresses that they
- 5:16Speaker 2: say have I mean, I'm a Lacey stan one hundred percent.
- 5:19Speaker 2: But so that's interesting. Okay, what's the next?
- 5:22Speaker 1: Wenesday An says, I'm a fan of the three actresses,
- 5:24Speaker 1: but I thought the movie was lame, weak story, and
- 5:26Speaker 1: lead actor cannot act and has no presence. Now I
- 5:29Speaker 1: should have followed up. Because she says lead actor, I'm
- 5:34Speaker 1: going to assume she means Kevin McGary, although I think
- 5:37Speaker 1: actor is a gender neutral term, so she could have
- 5:39Speaker 1: meant Lacey Schubert. But she does say she's a fan
- 5:43Speaker 1: of the three actresses. I liked Kevin McGary. The only
- 5:46Speaker 1: thing I didn't like in that movie was accent about
- 5:50Speaker 1: them apples. Yeah, I did not enjoy the accent.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I liked him a lot, and I know he's in
- 5:55Speaker 2: another movie that's coming up on the calendar, so I'm
- 5:59Speaker 2: in March looking forward to seeing him again.
- 6:02Speaker 1: This is from Thad. Do we pronounce tjds?
- 6:05Speaker 2: That?
- 6:05Speaker 3: Am I saying his name correctly?
- 6:07Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I loved the movie. I tried to watch all more
- 6:11Speaker 1: Christmas movies this past season, but kept falling asleep. Only
- 6:14Speaker 1: five movies touched my heart. Oh I didn't get to
- 6:17Speaker 1: watch Lacey's Christmas at Castle Heart or Dickens of a
- 6:20Speaker 1: Holiday yet skip those.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Indeed, Oh, that's not true.
- 6:24Speaker 2: I hated it.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I did love the comedic timing and writing of the
- 6:30Speaker 1: resolution of the misunderstanding and the fiance references we talked about.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I thought that was overdone. It was too much.
- 6:38Speaker 1: How confused can you be? Just ask the question you
- 6:41Speaker 1: I love all of the actors in the movie. I
- 6:43Speaker 1: thought they contributed to successful storytelling. I thought Kevin McGary
- 6:49Speaker 1: played the humorous side of his role a bit more
- 6:51Speaker 1: than he should have due to some possible nerves of
- 6:54Speaker 1: working opposite Lacey. Hmmm. He says, I have seen more
- 7:00Speaker 1: sincere or should I use the word serious acting from
- 7:03Speaker 1: him in other roles where he seemingly felt more comfortable.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I think if he gets the opportunity to work with
- 7:07Speaker 1: Lazy again, he will be even better than he already.
- 7:09Speaker 2: What dude, he's probably hung up on using that Boston accent,
- 7:14Speaker 2: you know, like, does it sound good? Does it sound authentic?
- 7:18Speaker 2: You know?
- 7:19Speaker 1: He says. Bottom line, those who love Kevin McGary as
- 7:22Speaker 1: the actor Nathan grant On when calls the Heart, really
- 7:25Speaker 1: need all this movie had to offer.
- 7:27Speaker 3: For Kevin McGary fan.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Oh, that's interesting. He's maybe our new up and comer
- 7:33Speaker 2: for twenty twenty two.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm excited to see him in March.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I just noticed that on Hallmark Channel dot com they
- 7:40Speaker 2: have a character quiz. So I want you to pull
- 7:44Speaker 2: it up, and I think we should take it and
- 7:46Speaker 2: then see who we are.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Oh, it's that kind of character I think.
- 7:49Speaker 2: So are you an Avery, Emma or Tracy?
- 7:53Speaker 1: Okay, we are going to link this in our show notes.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I have a guess in my mind. Hold on, I'm
- 7:59Speaker 1: in a.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Right Okay, Okay, okay, okay, this is who I think
- 8:03Speaker 2: I am, and you're gonna write down who you think
- 8:05Speaker 2: you are.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Okay, start your engine.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Do you have your picture up ready? One?
- 8:13Speaker 1: Three? We are both Tracy.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Guess for you, that's who I guess, same for ye.
- 8:26Speaker 2: You know she's a little bit of a skeptic, a
- 8:28Speaker 2: little bit of a pessimist.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Well, she takes a practical approach to love. Wendy hasn't
- 8:35Speaker 1: been known to call me a pessimist. I believe I
- 8:37Speaker 1: am a realist, and that's what I would I would
- 8:40Speaker 1: call Tracy. She's at she takes a realistic look at life.
- 8:45Speaker 2: I was like, oh no, that last question, I said,
- 8:48Speaker 2: would you rather meet a man who was a secret millionaire,
- 8:51Speaker 2: a man who can cook? Or what was something?
- 8:54Speaker 3: An Italian I said, A man who can cook?
- 8:56Speaker 2: Said And I had to think about it for a second.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I was like, a million I hate to cook, So yeah,
- 9:02Speaker 2: a man who can cook one hundred person? Oh my god,
- 9:05Speaker 2: that was so fun. We're gonna definitely link that in
- 9:08Speaker 2: the show notes. I'm a Tracy. I'm excited for her installment.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Indeed.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Okay. Here is the synopsis for The Wedding Veil Unveiled.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Emma travels to Italy to teach and research a wedding
- 9:23Speaker 2: veil said to bring its owner love. While there, she
- 9:26Speaker 2: meets Paulo Poolo. Poolo, the son of a local lace
- 9:31Speaker 2: making family.
- 9:33Speaker 3: That's it.
- 9:34Speaker 1: That's it, short and sweet, that's.
- 9:37Speaker 2: The text notes.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, this movie was filmed on location in Venice, which Burano,
- 9:44Speaker 1: and in Bulgaria.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I'm shocked to read that because when I was watching
- 9:50Speaker 2: it yesterday, I was like, when they were like on
- 9:53Speaker 2: the water boats, I was like, is this green screen?
- 9:55Speaker 2: This is a really good green screen. This is a
- 9:58Speaker 2: green screen.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I think I must have known ahead of time, because
- 10:01Speaker 1: I believed the entire time that they were in Italy.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I mean it was it felt very obvious, I.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Know, but I'm shocked that homework would have like production
- 10:09Speaker 2: dollars to be like, yeah, let's go to Italy and
- 10:11Speaker 2: film this movie.
- 10:12Speaker 1: They have filmed. Lacy has been in a movie in
- 10:15Speaker 1: Italy before, something Venice, We've been in Greece, We've been
- 10:18Speaker 1: in Ireland.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I know. It's just just weird. Look, if they're going
- 10:22Speaker 2: to do it, do it with these actresses, not like
- 10:25Speaker 2: a no name.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Like is it more expensive to film abroad?
- 10:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna say yes, unless they hired all like local
- 10:33Speaker 2: filming crews and all those people. I don't know, you know,
- 10:36Speaker 2: I know nothing about the Maky movies.
- 10:38Speaker 1: So no, when we know a lot of the supporting
- 10:40Speaker 1: cast was Italian.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Yeah, And honestly, as I watched, I was like, are
- 10:44Speaker 2: they all doing terrible Italian accents? But they were all
- 10:48Speaker 2: real ones. I'm guessing real terrible accents. Well, I just
- 10:52Speaker 2: like it was just so funny, like prag you know,
- 10:55Speaker 2: like stuff like that. Like I was like, is that real?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Well? So, Powell Bernardini, who plays Paolo in the movie,
- 11:03Speaker 1: is Italian and the majority of his resume is foreign
- 11:06Speaker 1: language films. So I appreciated the truth.
- 11:10Speaker 3: In art in using an Italian.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Actor in this role, and I felt like it lent
- 11:16Speaker 1: believability to his use of that language.
- 11:20Speaker 2: So you're telling me you do not want Tyler Hines
- 11:23Speaker 2: doing an Italian accent? Did she even imagine? Oh my gosh,
- 11:29Speaker 2: I can't even imagine. Okay, here is a funny note
- 11:32Speaker 2: that I had to add on. A reser has said
- 11:36Speaker 2: he loves to correct my Italian. She's talking about is
- 11:39Speaker 2: her co star Paolo? And to that, I say, no,
- 11:44Speaker 2: nobody wants to be corrected. If you are in a
- 11:47Speaker 2: foreign country and you are trying your darnedist to speak
- 11:52Speaker 2: the language, do you want to be corrected?
- 11:55Speaker 1: Now? It makes me feel very embarrassed to speak another language,
- 12:00Speaker 1: and it.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Makes me embarrassed to speak English. Have you heard this podcast?
- 12:05Speaker 1: I feel very put on the spot, so I would
- 12:07Speaker 1: be embarrassed were someone to correct me. I do not
- 12:11Speaker 1: take constructive criticism of that type. Well, so it would
- 12:16Speaker 1: make me not want.
- 12:16Speaker 3: To even try. I would stop.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yeah. So I'm just wondering if she was just being
- 12:21Speaker 2: very nice for her co star here who was correcting
- 12:23Speaker 2: her the entire time.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I thought she did a nice job. I mean, she
- 12:28Speaker 1: speaks a little bit of Italian and does it with
- 12:30Speaker 1: a little accent.
- 12:31Speaker 2: And bats prague she's trying, which made me wonder, is
- 12:36Speaker 2: prago thank you?
- 12:37Speaker 3: Okay?
- 12:38Speaker 1: It feels like the Italian version of a looha because
- 12:40Speaker 1: it seems like they used it to mean a number
- 12:43Speaker 1: of things.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I only know it as like spaghetti sauce, So
- 12:46Speaker 2: I was like, why would they call spaghetti sauce prey goo?
- 12:50Speaker 2: If it means thank you.
- 12:51Speaker 3: It means you're welcome.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Oh now that's funny, you're welcome. Here's my sauce. O.
- 13:00Speaker 1: The many meanings of the word pray go in Italian,
- 13:05Speaker 1: it means come in, it means after you, which I
- 13:07Speaker 1: do know that there were times when he would it
- 13:09Speaker 1: felt like, let's go. It means please, how can I
- 13:13Speaker 1: help you? I beg your pardon.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I think it's like what in English? You know what
- 13:18Speaker 2: I mean?
- 13:18Speaker 3: Okay?
- 13:19Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, definitely, okay, okay, So are you ready for
- 13:22Speaker 2: first impressions? Yeah?
- 13:24Speaker 1: My first impression is this felt like a very standard
- 13:27Speaker 1: Hallmark love story, neither distractingly bad nor knock my socks
- 13:30Speaker 1: off good.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Okay, mine is less than that. I hate apple pie.
- 13:36Speaker 2: What I don't like apple pie? I think it's the
- 13:39Speaker 2: most boring pie ever.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Hot apple pie, no ice cream on top, No, thank you.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I don't like many pies, but I like a hot
- 13:48Speaker 1: apple pie with a scoop.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Of ice cream.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Nope, nope.
- 13:51Speaker 1: What kind of pie do you like?
- 13:53Speaker 2: Lemon meringe, yes, ma'am. And cherry pie, yeah, because I
- 13:56Speaker 2: like a tart berry cherry.
- 13:58Speaker 1: There when we go apple picking, they sell an apple
- 14:02Speaker 1: cherry pie that is to die for, just delicious.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I just don't apple pie is so boring, and I
- 14:08Speaker 2: hated that it was like a part of this like movie.
- 14:11Speaker 2: She said, I'm a miherricane, I'll make you an apple pie.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I was like, God, shut up, beautiful oh, can.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I borrow your kitchen? I was like, what for, what's
- 14:21Speaker 2: happening here?
- 14:21Speaker 1: I knew exactly what she was doing, did you.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I you're smart. You can just see it coming like
- 14:28Speaker 2: a freight train. What's gonna happen in these movies? Okay?
- 14:31Speaker 2: So can we talk about what we like to them? Is? Well,
- 14:34Speaker 2: I gotta say location, location, Location, indeed very sweet and romantic.
- 14:38Speaker 2: And I love that we were actually in these like
- 14:41Speaker 2: small Italian towns and we were not in some small
- 14:44Speaker 2: Canadian town pretending to be an Italian town. I mean
- 14:48Speaker 2: no offense to Canada. I love Canada.
- 14:52Speaker 1: It's gorgeous. They find the most beautiful spots. But yes,
- 14:54Speaker 1: it was nice to film a movie about Italy and Italy.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Speaking of beauty, I loved Emma's wardrobe.
- 15:02Speaker 2: That's funny. Okay, so I agree, I have that written
- 15:05Speaker 2: down to you. I really enjoyed her clothing. I thought
- 15:07Speaker 2: she looked cooler in the first movie. In the first movie,
- 15:11Speaker 2: she was wearing like these cool like pants and blouses
- 15:16Speaker 2: with these like cool kind of like jackets. In this
- 15:19Speaker 2: she was just all in like very romantic dresses. Right,
- 15:23Speaker 2: still beautiful, but I thought she was gonna be cooler
- 15:26Speaker 2: and edgier.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yeah, she definitely had like a classic romantic vibe.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Mm hmmm.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I loved her wardrobe. I thought she looked great.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I appreciated that she wore the same jacket several times,
- 15:38Speaker 2: and I was like, yeah, you would only bring one jacket.
- 15:40Speaker 2: You wouldn't bring like a you know, clothing rack of jackets.
- 15:44Speaker 3: So brava, you're on the plane.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I did hate her hats, though I enjoyed her hat. Okay, listen,
- 15:52Speaker 2: I just I'm a hater because I want to wear
- 15:54Speaker 2: hats and I look ridiculous in hats.
- 15:56Speaker 1: So I made you mad that she looked cute and hat.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Yeah, And then I thought like, how did she carry
- 16:03Speaker 2: How does she pack that? How does she carry that
- 16:05Speaker 2: without it getting crushed?
- 16:06Speaker 1: I bet she carried it on?
- 16:08Speaker 2: What a pain. I would never.
- 16:10Speaker 1: They sell these little magnetic clips that you can like
- 16:14Speaker 1: loop onto your carry on and then it like magnets
- 16:17Speaker 1: closed over the lip of your hat so you can
- 16:20Speaker 1: like haneah. Interesting, I've seen I do not travel with hats.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I don't need such a thing, but I have seen.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I need a foldable hat. Yeah, packable, yeah, otherwise it's
- 16:30Speaker 2: being crushed.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Shop them there.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Wait whatever, fine shit, I mean, the look was cute.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I loved Emma's wedding dress.
- 16:39Speaker 2: And don't you dare say it? Go ahead?
- 16:43Speaker 3: Well, of course it was lace.
- 16:44Speaker 2: No, Okay, I thought you were talking about that flower crown,
- 16:47Speaker 2: and I have some notes about that.
- 16:50Speaker 3: The flower crown was unremarkable to me.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Okay, her dress was very pretty.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and it made sense that the lace maker's bride
- 16:59Speaker 1: wore lip.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Sure. I just thought it was pretty because it was
- 17:02Speaker 2: like form fitting, fitting for that outdoor wedding. Zerm m hmmm.
- 17:06Speaker 2: But there are twelve people that were there. The last
- 17:11Speaker 2: thing I liked about it, I was a little bit
- 17:12Speaker 2: worried at the end. I was like, this movie is
- 17:14Speaker 2: almost over. Are they going to get married? Or what
- 17:16Speaker 2: is this going to trickle into part three? Like I
- 17:18Speaker 2: didn't know what happened. So I liked that they skipped
- 17:21Speaker 2: forward six months and then we got a wedding.
- 17:23Speaker 1: But six months. Were you surprised by the length of
- 17:25Speaker 1: dting aage.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yes, because I was engaged like many years, so we're well,
- 17:30Speaker 2: we were together many years and then we were like
- 17:33Speaker 2: engaged a full like eighteen months.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I think I was only engaged six months, so I
- 17:39Speaker 1: can understand that timeline. Also, they can't drag it out
- 17:41Speaker 1: too long because poor Sammy Brady needs to get married.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I know, I know.
- 17:45Speaker 3: I was like, well six months, they dine there for
- 17:47Speaker 3: a week.
- 17:47Speaker 1: They don't even live in the same country at this point.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I enjoyed Luca's storyline the student artist.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Why though, why was it necessary?
- 17:59Speaker 1: Well, because there's not a lot going on in this movie,
- 18:01Speaker 1: and so we have multiple storylines. We've got the providence
- 18:06Speaker 1: of the Veil, We've got a Poollo trying to expand
- 18:09Speaker 1: the company. We've got Emma trying to make her class successful,
- 18:15Speaker 1: and we've got her student who struggles, and we had
- 18:17Speaker 1: to bring in the friends. Needed a way to help,
- 18:19Speaker 1: and so we had in the first movie, the friends
- 18:21Speaker 1: were called in to help with the art restore, and
- 18:24Speaker 1: so we needed a way to bring in the friends
- 18:26Speaker 1: to help in this movie.
- 18:27Speaker 2: So they help that kid get his scholarship. Yes, Lacey's
- 18:32Speaker 2: Oh I didn't even make scholarship, I am, I did
- 18:36Speaker 2: not even get that.
- 18:39Speaker 1: I thought it worked well. I thought in both movies.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Now knowing this is a thing that we're carrying through
- 18:44Speaker 1: the movies, I thought they did a nice job finding
- 18:47Speaker 1: a reason to bring in the friends, and I thought
- 18:49Speaker 1: it made sense, and I thought Lucas's story was well
- 18:51Speaker 1: realized from start to finish. She meets him on the street,
- 18:54Speaker 1: she discovers he's this artist. He's been accepted to this school.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Cut to oh, no, I can't pay my tuition.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I'm not gonna be able to graduate and not to
- 19:05Speaker 3: the rescue.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Would you have felt obligated to buy one of his
- 19:08Speaker 2: art pieces if you were on the street and found it,
- 19:12Speaker 2: for sure? Yeah? Me too.
- 19:14Speaker 3: But they were beautiful? Were they?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Remember? Okay? Yes? They were perfume bottles? I was like
- 19:26Speaker 2: hand blown glass. Maybe, yeah, okay. I would have been like, yeah,
- 19:30Speaker 2: now I gotta buy one of these and two for
- 19:32Speaker 2: my friends too.
- 19:33Speaker 1: What did you wish for?
- 19:34Speaker 2: I only have one thing? This story got way too
- 19:37Speaker 2: confusing for me. Oh, I was like great great grandparents,
- 19:42Speaker 2: chambermaid's illegitimate children. Who is Claudia? I don't know. It
- 19:46Speaker 2: was too much for my brain to handle.
- 19:49Speaker 1: She's the illegitimate child of the artist and the woman
- 19:53Speaker 1: in the painting who was raised by the woman in
- 19:56Speaker 1: the painting's maid.
- 19:58Speaker 2: It's stif yeah, and how is she related to this family?
- 20:03Speaker 1: Because the woman in the painting is a member of
- 20:06Speaker 1: this family.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it was too complicated for Wendy, who probably fell asleep.
- 20:14Speaker 2: I had to watch it in two parts.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Wat yet it while she was in the shower.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Through the shower door on full blast. By the way,
- 20:24Speaker 1: By the way, Wendy watches TV in the shower. My
- 20:29Speaker 1: husband listens to music in the toower. I bought him
- 20:31Speaker 1: a shower speaker a couple of years ago. It was
- 20:33Speaker 1: one of his favorite gifts. I try and listen to
- 20:35Speaker 1: a podcast in the shower. That's what it sounds like.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I can't differentiate a single word. It doesn't matter how
- 20:43Speaker 1: loud it is. It just sounds like noise to me.
- 20:45Speaker 1: So I don't know how you do that.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Well, I told you, I just prop it up. We're
- 20:50Speaker 2: talking my phone, which is a three by five screen
- 20:53Speaker 2: or whatever. I just prop it up on the glass
- 20:54Speaker 2: and then I put the subtitles on, so I can't
- 20:57Speaker 2: read it.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Shampoo in your hair real?
- 20:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I need to focus.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Yeah, man, watch everything. I did not watch this movie
- 21:04Speaker 2: in the shower, but yes, I do consume a lot
- 21:07Speaker 2: of my media like that.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I did watch it while delirious with COVID. Yes, I did,
- 21:12Speaker 1: you are forgiven. Oh well, that's funny that you talk about.
- 21:17Speaker 3: You put on the captions for everything.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah, watch now. I put on the captions serverything that
- 21:21Speaker 1: I watched too. But the wish I have for this
- 21:24Speaker 1: movie is that we would get subtitles when they were
- 21:27Speaker 1: speaking in Italian.
- 21:28Speaker 2: They did it one time.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I had that in my notes. I saw one set
- 21:31Speaker 1: of subtitles. Yes, but otherwise we were either supposed to
- 21:34Speaker 1: infer what they were talking about based on context or
- 21:37Speaker 1: not care. Yeah, I would like to know the little
- 21:40Speaker 1: jokes they were making.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, isn't that weird that I caught that too.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I was like, oh, there's a subtitle.
- 21:46Speaker 3: But time once.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder if that was a mistake. They just
- 21:49Speaker 1: ran out of the budget for it. I forgot to
- 21:55Speaker 1: cut something. Cut that we're going to figure out what
- 21:57Speaker 1: we're talking about.
- 21:58Speaker 2: We were all location in Italy. He's not a four
- 22:00Speaker 2: sub titles. Guys, did you see that? I have a few. Okay,
- 22:06Speaker 2: are we to assume lace purses are enough to open
- 22:10Speaker 2: like a New York location for this lace making family?
- 22:16Speaker 2: Evidently I just don't get it. Don't get it. I
- 22:19Speaker 2: don't own anything lace, so I don't know it doesn't
- 22:23Speaker 2: didn't like it.
- 22:25Speaker 1: They already knew that the purses were selling.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Well, oh really, well, are they just applying lace to
- 22:33Speaker 2: like a Satain handbag?
- 22:36Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:37Speaker 3: They never showed the purses. I don't believe.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I think they did. Oh but I don't remember exactly.
- 22:41Speaker 3: I sometimes play candy Crush while I watch these.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Oh my god, you're bagging on me for taking a shower.
- 22:47Speaker 3: While watching this.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Maybe she's doing something completely different.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I was just explaining the movie watching experience for you.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Oh my goodness.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Okay. You may recall that in the Wedding Veil Part one,
- 22:59Speaker 1: Wendy had beef with the selfie they take in the beginning.
- 23:03Speaker 1: It's on my notes, So in the Wedding Veil part too.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Apparently this is a thing and another thing they carried
- 23:08Speaker 1: through the movies.
- 23:09Speaker 2: I like that.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I like the little nods that tie the movies together.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I'm fine with that. The friends are together. They take
- 23:13Speaker 1: a selfie. Now, I don't remember what the picture looked
- 23:17Speaker 1: like in the first movie. I remember your discussion of it,
- 23:19Speaker 1: I remember them taking it, I don't remember the outcome. However,
- 23:22Speaker 1: in this movie, I see them about to take their
- 23:25Speaker 1: selfie and I'm like, I'm ready. I'm ready for it
- 23:27Speaker 1: because I know I'm gonna want to see it. And
- 23:30Speaker 1: they take the photo, and like they do in television
- 23:34Speaker 1: or movies when they take a photo, they like snap
- 23:36Speaker 1: to the still photo, and the still photo is photo
- 23:39Speaker 1: of them taking the photo. Yes, it's not their photo.
- 23:42Speaker 2: No, it's so dumb. Right. I thought the same thing.
- 23:45Speaker 2: But in the first movie they actually show a selfie.
- 23:48Speaker 2: But it's that terrible.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Yeah, so I wonder if they learned that lesson. But
- 23:54Speaker 1: I was like, just let the girl take a selfie.
- 23:56Speaker 1: My gosh, it doesn't have to be perfect. It's two
- 23:58Speaker 1: seconds of your movie. I know, let Autumn actually snap
- 24:01Speaker 1: a photo.
- 24:02Speaker 2: I need to talk about that flower crown that Autumn
- 24:04Speaker 2: Racer is wearing during her wedding. I thought it was terrible.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I just thought it was so ugly compared to like lace.
- 24:11Speaker 2: You had this beautiful like jeweled something or other, like
- 24:16Speaker 2: headband or something with it. Okay, the flower crowd was
- 24:21Speaker 2: just a lot. It was huge. It was like, I
- 24:23Speaker 2: didn't like the colors of it. I hated it so funny.
- 24:28Speaker 2: It was, as I said, it was unremarkable.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I noticed it. I thought, huh, I think the rest
- 24:35Speaker 1: of her dress is so simple. I mean, the lace
- 24:38Speaker 1: is intricate, but it's very form fitting. It's not she
- 24:41Speaker 1: doesn't have this big, poofy princess. She has short, simple hairstyle.
- 24:45Speaker 3: So that was kind of her like wow moment.
- 24:47Speaker 2: But I hated it. Okay, automn Racer's hair. Look. I
- 24:51Speaker 2: don't like to talk at a lot about people's hair
- 24:54Speaker 2: because it gets me in trouble. On this podcast, Aaron
- 24:59Speaker 2: Cracow Tyler hines, but she had the same hair do
- 25:03Speaker 2: every single scene, including her wedding day.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah. I thought her hair was super cute. That's just
- 25:09Speaker 1: her style. I have the same hair do every day.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Not on your wedding day. How'd you wear your hair
- 25:14Speaker 2: on your wedding day?
- 25:14Speaker 1: Down?
- 25:15Speaker 2: Did you really? You didn't have anything?
- 25:17Speaker 1: I had that but a little tiny, like slight half
- 25:20Speaker 1: up like a full half of it.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Okay, see, yes, I know.
- 25:24Speaker 1: But it was down and curled like I do every day.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Because I wanted to look like myself on my wedding day.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, I didn't want an updo.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Yeah, my hair is my thing.
- 25:32Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be like, yeah, i'll tie it back.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I'm not like litlet my hot bod. That's not me
- 25:37Speaker 1: on my wedding day. I got one thing.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Oh my god, stop it, you're so funny. Well, I
- 25:44Speaker 2: don't think her hair is her one thing. She has
- 25:46Speaker 2: a beautiful smile, she has a beautiful face, like beautiful body,
- 25:50Speaker 2: Like I just.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Has short hair. What else is she gonna do with it?
- 25:53Speaker 2: As a girl with short hair? I don't know. Put
- 25:55Speaker 2: some extensions in it.
- 25:57Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Her wedding day she to have tear extension.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I don't have some pretty extensions. Put half half. I
- 26:04Speaker 2: don't know. I don't know.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Yeah, like a little tiny bit like twisted.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Bath something something like got a they needed a bed
- 26:13Speaker 2: for that flower crown. Dude, it was awful. God, Okay,
- 26:16Speaker 2: one last thing? Where was Avery's husband? Peter did not
- 26:19Speaker 2: make the trip to Italy?
- 26:20Speaker 1: Did not make the trip. He was off talk in
- 26:22Speaker 1: sports with Did they say with Finn?
- 26:24Speaker 2: I don't know who's finn?
- 26:25Speaker 1: Finn is Ali Sweeney's dude that she's going to break
- 26:28Speaker 1: up with In the next.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't, No, I didn't. I don't know. I
- 26:31Speaker 2: didn't catch that's funny.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Off talking something with somebody, and as I'm saying that
- 26:36Speaker 1: right now, I'm wondering if it was Finn, because it's
- 26:39Speaker 1: weird that Finn's never been, like, wouldn't he have been
- 26:41Speaker 1: at these weddings her boyfriend of course? And I'm guessing
- 26:45Speaker 1: that's not Finn. In the commercials for this next movie,
- 26:48Speaker 1: she's definitely not getting married to Finn. They've been so
- 26:50Speaker 1: heavy handed with the oh we're not there yet. Oh
- 26:53Speaker 1: it's been like two and a half years. But she
- 26:54Speaker 1: meets like some beefy dude.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Then in the in the new.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Movie Wait Bye, Finn, she clearly doesn't love him, and
- 27:02Speaker 1: at the end of this movie, Tracy says, Oh, well,
- 27:05Speaker 1: Finn and I are talking about getting engaged. I mean
- 27:07Speaker 1: it's about breaking time.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Oh my god, gump him. Yeah, anything else for you?
- 27:13Speaker 3: Just a rating?
- 27:14Speaker 2: Let me hear it, two point five stars. We need
- 27:19Speaker 2: to talk about that, because I didn't really like this
- 27:22Speaker 2: movie and I gave it a three star, okay, but like,
- 27:26Speaker 2: I just didn't find it that super entertaining, right compared
- 27:29Speaker 2: to the first one. I gave the first one four stars,
- 27:33Speaker 2: so I was like, I couldn't knock it down to
- 27:35Speaker 2: like a d A two.
- 27:37Speaker 1: The Wedding Veil I gave three point seven five stars.
- 27:43Speaker 2: This story just wasn't that interesting to me. I was not.
- 27:46Speaker 2: It could have been on movies and mysteries because I
- 27:48Speaker 2: was like, uh, who made this and who made that?
- 27:50Speaker 2: And we're gonna find this and I'm not, no, not
- 27:53Speaker 2: into it.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I found it pleasant, but not overwhelmingly.
- 27:57Speaker 2: So okay, Well, I'm hoping Sam he brings it home
- 28:00Speaker 2: for me.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And we will be back next week with the Wedding
- 28:03Speaker 1: Veil Legacy, the final installment in our Wedding Veil event,
- 28:08Speaker 1: so be sure to come back for that while you're here.
- 28:10Speaker 1: We love your five star ratings and reviews, so please
- 28:13Speaker 1: leave us one on your way out the door. Thank
- 28:15Speaker 1: you so much. Have a great weekend, friends. Goodbye bye
