- 0:01Speaker 1: This is the mark simone show on 710 wor all right.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Uh hang on we're not really ready yet we had
- 0:16Speaker 2: a little uh studio crisis here uh all right i
- 0:21Speaker 2: think we're all set so uh yeah we couldn't get
- 0:24Speaker 2: the studio out of here uh this is it i
- 0:28Speaker 2: use a separate studio from everybody else and i Whatever
- 0:31Speaker 2: happens on the weekend here, sometimes you come in and
- 0:33Speaker 2: it's all screwed up.
- 0:35Speaker 1: So we've got everything. Everything sounds good now. I can
- 0:38Speaker 1: hear myself. We've got a lot to get to. We'll
- 0:41Speaker 1: get to Maria Bartiromo. What the hell happened there? We'll
- 0:44Speaker 1: get to Iran. What's going on there? We'll get to Canada.
- 0:49Speaker 1: The big battle with Canada. Now, if you watch MSNBC
- 0:56Speaker 1: all morning, it's... This terrible fight with Canada, how it's
- 1:00Speaker 1: affecting Americans. Well, if your house is buying bombardier jets,
- 1:07Speaker 1: it might affect you. But otherwise, I don't really think
- 1:10Speaker 1: it's happening. You really don't buy much of anything from Canada.
- 1:14Speaker 1: And it's just going to be a little, a totally
- 1:18Speaker 1: unnoticeable thing. It's like when you watch CNN or MSNBC.
- 1:22Speaker 1: you'll see this big dramatic, the Iran war. It's not
- 1:26Speaker 1: really a war. I mean, there was a war a
- 1:29Speaker 1: few months ago for a couple of weeks, but this
- 1:31Speaker 1: is just little skirmishes, occasional firing a missile here, and
- 1:34Speaker 1: they wouldn't call this a war. I don't know what
- 1:36Speaker 1: the hell you'd call it. It's a weird situation, but
- 1:40Speaker 1: it's not, you know, and if you look at these studies,
- 1:42Speaker 1: focus group surveys, most Americans paying absolutely no attention to
- 1:48Speaker 1: this Boy, you see so much false reporting all the time.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Here's a great example. President Trump is not coming to
- 1:59Speaker 1: Ground Zero for 9-11. And you remember the New York
- 2:05Speaker 1: Times was the first to report the reason he's not
- 2:08Speaker 1: coming is they won't let him speak. So he's decided
- 2:12Speaker 1: not to come. Well, that's a hell of a story.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Now it turns out it's the fakest news ever from
- 2:17Speaker 1: the New York Times from this idiot Maggie Haberman who
- 2:20Speaker 1: just makes up crap all the time. Now, they don't
- 2:23Speaker 1: have speeches at the 9-11 ceremony. And Donald Trump has
- 2:26Speaker 1: gone to that ceremony dozens of times. He knows there's
- 2:29Speaker 1: no such thing as speeches. Nobody speaks. Only the family speaks.
- 2:33Speaker 1: The families speak and they read the names. No politicians
- 2:38Speaker 1: speak there. They used to do it the first couple
- 2:40Speaker 1: of years. I think it was about 2010, they decided
- 2:43Speaker 1: no politicians will ever speak here again on 9-11. So
- 2:46Speaker 1: he knew that. Just totally fake, ridiculous story. You know,
- 2:51Speaker 1: he was going to close the Kennedy Center for two years,
- 2:56Speaker 1: and all of the fake news, the networks and CNN
- 2:58Speaker 1: and MSNBC said, he's claiming it needs to be rebuilt.
- 3:04Speaker 1: He just wants to rebuild. He's claiming there's nothing wrong
- 3:08Speaker 1: with the Kennedy Center. Well, Over the weekend, Friday night,
- 3:13Speaker 1: it rained hard in Washington, D.C., and part of the
- 3:17Speaker 1: ceiling collapsed in the Kennedy Center. As we told you
- 3:20Speaker 1: last week, the big problem with the Kennedy Center, the
- 3:23Speaker 1: reason it's so horribly damaged inside, it's what they call
- 3:28Speaker 1: water intrusion. The way it was built through the years,
- 3:31Speaker 1: they just kept adding on and adding on and adding on,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and all the pipes weren't attached seamlessly, so there have
- 3:39Speaker 1: been so many leaks and pipe bursts that the whole
- 3:42Speaker 1: thing is crumbling mold. The whole, it's one of these
- 3:46Speaker 1: situations where you got to literally gut the whole place
- 3:48Speaker 1: and start over. But when he said that, you know,
- 3:51Speaker 1: the media telling you he's lying, he's claiming that, well,
- 3:55Speaker 1: a big chunk of the ceiling collapsed. Luckily it was
- 3:59Speaker 1: closed and nobody was there. And where the ceiling fell
- 4:03Speaker 1: is right in the lobby where everybody would be walking
- 4:06Speaker 1: in and out. So you would have had a lot
- 4:07Speaker 1: of injury or, who knows what, but, uh, look at
- 4:11Speaker 1: my Twitter. You'll see a picture of a, there's a
- 4:14Speaker 1: big hole in the ceiling. It just collapsed from the rain. Uh,
- 4:17Speaker 1: luckily again, as I say, it was closed. No one
- 4:19Speaker 1: was injured. Uh, in Russia, uh, Putin, uh, had meetings
- 4:25Speaker 1: with Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. These are the president's
- 4:29Speaker 1: two chief negotiators. Now some argue, you know, you should
- 4:32Speaker 1: have more foreign policy guys do these negotiations, not these, uh,
- 4:36Speaker 1: New York real estate guys. What do they know about, uh,
- 4:39Speaker 1: foreign leaders, foreign policy. Well, uh, Kissinger used to tell Trump,
- 4:46Speaker 1: don't use the state department. Don't use these foreign policy guys.
- 4:49Speaker 1: And you used to tell them these idiots with their
- 4:52Speaker 1: briefing books, don't know a damn thing. So, and it's true.
- 4:56Speaker 1: They're just bureaucrats. I mean, these guys are, they may
- 4:59Speaker 1: just be New York real estate guys, but they're doing
- 5:01Speaker 1: billion dollar deals. They're, uh, you know, they're getting things done.
- 5:05Speaker 1: They can't, uh, Do what State Department guys do. Take
- 5:08Speaker 1: 14 years to negotiate something. They got to do it
- 5:10Speaker 1: in a couple of days. So they were over there
- 5:13Speaker 1: negotiating with Putin, which is like negotiating with Iran. No
- 5:16Speaker 1: matter what agreement you get, nobody's going to stick to it.
- 5:19Speaker 1: So I don't know what the point is. You know,
- 5:22Speaker 1: the difference with these guys, these guys are business negotiators
- 5:25Speaker 1: and you're negotiating with another business that has to make money.
- 5:28Speaker 1: So they basically got to follow through. But if you're
- 5:31Speaker 1: Iran or you're Putin, you're just nuts. You're a lunatic,
- 5:34Speaker 1: a violent, crazy lunatic. You don't have to follow any agreement.
- 5:38Speaker 1: But Witkoff doing a few shows to talk about these negotiations.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Can we get the next gen? Let's try it now.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Witkoff talking about these negotiations. No, it's still. Let me see.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Can we do it now? Nope, no audio. Sorry. Studio
- 6:02Speaker 1: completely messed up by whoever was here on the weekends.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Let me know if you ever get it. So what
- 6:10Speaker 1: was the point of all this? Oh, so Witkoff and
- 6:13Speaker 1: Kushner coming back. I don't know. You know, the other
- 6:16Speaker 1: problem with Putin is approval ratings. You see this? Approval
- 6:19Speaker 1: ratings have sunk so low. Now, if you're a politician
- 6:23Speaker 1: in this country, that could be a problem. That could
- 6:26Speaker 1: be a big problem. If you're Putin, it doesn't matter.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Anybody runs against you, just shoot him. You just kill him.
- 6:32Speaker 1: It's a different election system over there. So you really
- 6:34Speaker 1: don't have to worry too much about approval ratings. But
- 6:36Speaker 1: they think he might be looking for a way out
- 6:40Speaker 1: of Ukraine. He's getting killed and slaughtered in Ukraine. Nobody
- 6:45Speaker 1: ever thought they'd live to see this.
- 6:47Speaker 3: But.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You got to give Zelensky, Ukraine credit. They really turned
- 6:54Speaker 1: things around. They learned how to build missiles. They learned
- 6:56Speaker 1: how to build drones. They built their own factories. They're
- 6:59Speaker 1: turning them out like crazy. They have, you know, Russia
- 7:02Speaker 1: was supposed to be the superpower. Ukraine has a lot
- 7:04Speaker 1: more missiles, a lot more firepower and a lot more drones.
- 7:08Speaker 1: And they've been pushing Russia back, not just holding them,
- 7:11Speaker 1: but pushing them back. They've killed, I think, something like
- 7:14Speaker 1: 100,000 Russian soldiers in the last couple of months. So
- 7:18Speaker 1: Putin's got a real problem. So that's why they're over
- 7:20Speaker 1: there negotiating now. They just think maybe he's looking for
- 7:24Speaker 1: an exit ramp from this mess. Now, of course, he
- 7:26Speaker 1: would start up again in a year or two. But
- 7:30Speaker 1: we'll see if they come through with anything. Maria Bartiromo,
- 7:35Speaker 1: what the hell happened there? Well, it's been a rocky relationship,
- 7:42Speaker 1: Maria Bartiromo and Putin. Fox, and before that with CNBC,
- 7:47Speaker 1: you know, she ended up leaving there. Now, sometimes she
- 7:53Speaker 1: gets into a little too much controversy, you know, like election, this,
- 7:56Speaker 1: remember with Dominion, election tamper, she jumped into that a
- 8:02Speaker 1: little too much. There was an incident a couple of
- 8:04Speaker 1: months ago where Kevin O'Leary was on, making all kinds
- 8:06Speaker 1: of claims about China, and then Fox had to issue
- 8:09Speaker 1: 12 different apologies, so it She was always pushing the
- 8:14Speaker 1: envelope a little too much on certain things. And, you know,
- 8:18Speaker 1: she didn't have the highest ratings in the world. In fact,
- 8:21Speaker 1: the show averaged about 120,000 viewers. That's not a lot.
- 8:26Speaker 1: You know, there's other shows on the network that do much,
- 8:29Speaker 1: much more than that. So it was a tricky situation.
- 8:34Speaker 1: So she's now being accused of, the word is that
- 8:39Speaker 1: she leaked out memos to the White House. And that
- 8:43Speaker 1: she leaked them to Peter Navarro, who's a very nice guy.
- 8:47Speaker 1: But that's the last guy I'd pick to keep a
- 8:48Speaker 1: secret about anything. That's the last guy I'd... If I
- 8:53Speaker 1: had to pick somebody to be really discreet, I don't
- 8:55Speaker 1: think he'd be my first choice. So apparently word got
- 8:58Speaker 1: out she's not there anymore. But Fox Business doing very, very,
- 9:02Speaker 1: very well. Just crushing CNBC around the clock. Big shows there.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Varney does real well. All the evening edit is getting
- 9:11Speaker 1: big numbers now. And the biggest show of all in
- 9:13Speaker 1: the history of business television, Kudlow, is just killing it
- 9:17Speaker 1: every day. So they're doing better than ever. Actually, I'll
- 9:20Speaker 1: be on Kudlow later today. Four to five on the
- 9:23Speaker 1: Fox Business Network. Mamdani, well, 9-11 ceremonies are Friday. He's
- 9:32Speaker 1: planning to go. It seemed like... It was just not
- 9:39Speaker 1: appropriate to have him there. I mean, this vicious anti-Semite,
- 9:44Speaker 1: this guy who seems to always be supporting terrorists or
- 9:49Speaker 1: terrorist lawyers or anybody on that side. The families don't
- 9:54Speaker 1: want him there. They had a petition to keep him out.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Hundred thousand signatures now, buddy. still going. Why? Well, does
- 10:03Speaker 1: he feel it's just the right thing to do to
- 10:05Speaker 1: be there, that it's important for the mayor to be there? No,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I don't think that's it. Late last week, there was
- 10:12Speaker 1: a ceremony where he signed a bill. I increasing security,
- 10:20Speaker 1: increasing terrorist watch, increasing terrorist tests, something like that. He
- 10:25Speaker 1: signs the bill, and there's about 42 people standing there. And,
- 10:31Speaker 1: you know, when the president signs a bill, he uses
- 10:33Speaker 1: a few different pens, and then he hands the pens
- 10:37Speaker 1: to certain people because it's a great souvenir of the
- 10:40Speaker 1: president signing that bill. Now, for Mamdani to think anybody
- 10:46Speaker 1: wants a pen from him. You ever see those Trump pens?
- 10:51Speaker 1: The most beautiful pens. He had them specially made with
- 10:55Speaker 1: the White House logo, with the president's signature. Unbelievable. So
- 11:01Speaker 1: people display that. They build a case for it. They
- 11:04Speaker 1: show it to people. Look at this. This is the
- 11:05Speaker 1: president of the United States. This is the pen he
- 11:07Speaker 1: signed the big, beautiful bill with. It's very impressive. But
- 11:11Speaker 1: could you picture anybody holding up a crappy little pen saying, hey,
- 11:14Speaker 1: this was Mom Donnie's pen. What an ego on this
- 11:17Speaker 1: guy to think anybody would want a pen from him
- 11:20Speaker 1: signing a bill. But the key to this is there's
- 11:25Speaker 1: like 42 people standing there. He could hand it to
- 11:28Speaker 1: the police commissioner. Well, that would have been the most
- 11:30Speaker 1: appropriate one. He could hand it to somebody. But he
- 11:34Speaker 1: does hand it to the police commissioner. He says, pass
- 11:36Speaker 1: it on to him. And he points to the lawyer
- 11:38Speaker 1: for the terrorists. The 9-11 Al-Qaeda type terrorists, he's the lawyer.
- 11:44Speaker 1: He defended a few of these Al-Qaeda guys. He hands
- 11:48Speaker 1: the pen to him, which indicates this is all an
- 11:52Speaker 1: attack on us. He's on the other side when it
- 11:56Speaker 1: comes to 9-11. He's against the families. That's why he's going,
- 12:00Speaker 1: just to cause trouble. Now, I wouldn't have said this
- 12:03Speaker 1: last week, but when he handed the pen, you got
- 12:05Speaker 1: all these people standing there you give that pen to.
- 12:07Speaker 1: He gives it to the terrorist representative. What does that
- 12:11Speaker 1: tell you? There you go. He really is on the
- 12:16Speaker 1: other side when it comes to 9-11. He feels they're
- 12:20Speaker 1: the victims of 9-11. He feels they were justified somehow.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Why else would you give it to their lawyer? And again, look,
- 12:28Speaker 1: the lawyer's not even standing next to him. It has
- 12:30Speaker 1: to be passed down because the lawyer's so far away.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Why would you look at all these people and say,
- 12:34Speaker 1: give it to him, the 9-11 terrorist Al-Qaeda lawyer. Give
- 12:39Speaker 1: it to him to That tells you what he's really,
- 12:42Speaker 1: really up to. Oh, we got the sound fixed. Steve Witkoff,
- 12:44Speaker 1: back from meeting with Putin.
- 12:46Speaker 3: We came to see President Putin first. We needed to
- 12:48Speaker 3: hear where he stood. We had good concrete.
- 12:52Speaker 1: We waited five minutes for that. Not that exciting. How
- 12:54Speaker 1: about Jared Kushner? You ever hear Kushner talk?
- 12:57Speaker 3: There is a pathway. There is a dialogue. And it's
- 13:01Speaker 3: a really hard problem. I mean, this is a war
- 13:04Speaker 3: that started before Putin. Obviously, President Trump took office, but
- 13:08Speaker 3: he seems to.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if that's the guy you should send.
- 13:10Speaker 1: You know, Putin's like a vicious, murderous, unbelievable world dictator, killer, murderer.
- 13:15Speaker 1: And you send this guy to talk like this to him.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I don't know if— He might not be the right guy.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Might not be the right choice. Iran, well, there was
- 13:23Speaker 1: a few. They fired at a ship or two. I
- 13:27Speaker 1: think two ships they fired at. So we took out
- 13:29Speaker 1: three of their ships, three big tankers. We just blew
- 13:31Speaker 1: them right out of the water. We were very nice
- 13:34Speaker 1: about it, actually. quite nice about it we actually uh
- 13:39Speaker 1: broadcast with a big loudspeaker a huge announcement to the
- 13:43Speaker 1: tanker they flew low over the tanker and said get
- 13:45Speaker 1: off the ship abandon your ship it's about to be
- 13:47Speaker 1: blown up uh i assume they did it in the
- 13:51Speaker 1: right language so these people could understand it but they
- 13:54Speaker 1: told everybody abandon the ship it's about to be blown
- 13:57Speaker 1: up they waited a few minutes for and some people
- 13:59Speaker 1: did abandon the ship and then they just blew up
- 14:01Speaker 1: three tankers uh they let iran know anytime you hit
- 14:06Speaker 1: a ship, we're going to take out three of yours.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And they'll keep increasing that ratio. You take out one,
- 14:11Speaker 1: we'll take out 10, that kind of stuff. I don't
- 14:13Speaker 1: know if these lunatics care. But a tanker is a
- 14:16Speaker 1: couple million bucks. It might have had oil on it.
- 14:19Speaker 1: That's another couple million. So if you take out three
- 14:22Speaker 1: of them, you probably cost them 12, 15 million bucks.
- 14:26Speaker 1: And the good news is they think Iran has got
- 14:29Speaker 1: about two months left before it totally collapses. They think
- 14:34Speaker 1: it has about two months of oil left. We've cut
- 14:38Speaker 1: off their... We use the Strait of Hormuz. We've got
- 14:41Speaker 1: tankers coming and going out of the Strait of Hormuz.
- 14:45Speaker 1: In fact, we're doing about 8 million barrels a day
- 14:47Speaker 1: through there. We think some days it's up to maybe
- 14:51Speaker 1: 15 million. Pre-war, it was 20 million a day. But
- 14:55Speaker 1: we've cut off the Strait of Hormuz from Iran. We've
- 15:00Speaker 1: cut off their other routes to get oil in and out.
- 15:03Speaker 1: And it's believed now they're down to just the last
- 15:06Speaker 1: two months of fuel. And when that goes, a lot
- 15:11Speaker 1: of things are going to happen. Right now, there are
- 15:13Speaker 1: gas lines that go for like 10 blocks in Iran.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Inflation is at 90%. Once they run out of fuel,
- 15:20Speaker 1: things could change dramatically. Hey, we mentioned Maria Bartiromo. You
- 15:24Speaker 1: ever watch CNBC? Anybody watch that anymore? A couple of
- 15:28Speaker 1: great guys there. Joe Kernan's a great guy. And Rick Santelli, well,
- 15:32Speaker 1: he announced he's retiring. Been there since 1999, 26 years. October,
- 15:37Speaker 1: he'll retire. And look at this, Channel 4 at WNBC,
- 15:42Speaker 1: Sarah Wallace, the great investigative reporter, she's retiring. She didn't
- 15:46Speaker 1: know it, but they told her you're retiring. It's been
- 15:50Speaker 1: there 11 years. But remember, before that, she was at
- 15:54Speaker 1: Channel 7 for like three decades. So she's been on
- 15:56Speaker 1: the air for many years in New York. She's very good.
- 15:59Speaker 1: She was told she's decided to retire. She's not retiring.
- 16:05Speaker 1: She's looking for a new outlet. She'll find one. She's
- 16:08Speaker 1: very good. WNBC General Manager Eric Lerner said, the move
- 16:14Speaker 1: was very difficult, but it was necessary after we looked
- 16:18Speaker 1: at our long-term financial planning, which means they're losing a
- 16:21Speaker 1: hell of a lot of money at Channel 4. You've
- 16:23Speaker 1: got to remember, when it comes to the local news,
- 16:26Speaker 1: millions of people used to watch the 6 o'clock news.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Millions of people used to watch the 11 o'clock news.
- 16:32Speaker 1: And if you were Roger Grimsby or Ernie Anastas or
- 16:36Speaker 1: those guys, you know, Warner Wolf back in the big
- 16:38Speaker 1: days of local news, you were getting paid a fortune.
- 16:40Speaker 1: They were getting millions of dollars, these anchors. Well, now,
- 16:45Speaker 1: everything's different. Nobody watches primetime. Nobody watches network TV. Nobody
- 16:49Speaker 1: watches local TV. I mean, they watch, but it's way,
- 16:52Speaker 1: way down. You're lucky if you've got 200,000 viewers. So
- 16:55Speaker 1: it's like, One-tenth the viewers you used to have. And
- 16:57Speaker 1: the salaries had to come down a lot. That's why
- 17:00Speaker 1: you see a lot of big anchors that all of
- 17:01Speaker 1: a sudden weren't there anymore. They're just not going to
- 17:03Speaker 1: pay anybody anymore. So they get rid of them. They
- 17:06Speaker 1: hire new, young, cheap anchors. Local TV dying. Network TV dying.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Radio actually not dying despite what you hear. More people
- 17:17Speaker 1: listen to the radio today than 20 years ago. Radio
- 17:20Speaker 1: listening at an all-time high. Even AM talk radio, 63
- 17:23Speaker 1: million people. Listen to AM Talk Radio every day. Anyway,
- 17:28Speaker 1: we've got a lot to get to, so don't go away.
- 17:31Speaker 1: It's 9 to noon now, three hours every day, 9
- 17:35Speaker 1: to noon every day. Hey, we'll get to the ballroom.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Interesting developments there and more. It's Mark Simone, 9 to
- 17:41Speaker 1: noon on 710WOR.
