- 0:06delighted to be joined by my co-host, as always every single
- 0:10week of today's discussions, may be surprising, if any of you are
- 0:13binge-watching Speakers Corner on YouTube or many of you are,
- 0:16you know, looking around, listening to SUNY debate.
- 0:19She either base everyone fighting one another, or more
- 0:22importantly, where do we stand when we want to pursue true
- 0:25knowledge and getting closer to Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala now
- 0:28before I introduce today's guests.
- 0:30It's on a welcome. My amazing co-host cement salaam
- 0:32alaikum. Walaikum Salam.
- 0:43How you doing? I'm good.
- 0:45How are you not too bad? That's been happening.
- 0:47What's the latest they just is enjoying the weather in London,
- 0:51more Sunny. So we're making the most of them
- 0:54and see ya Mindy, no pun intended, it's really, really
- 1:03interesting topic. But before we get into the guys
- 1:05just want to Thank you. Of course, for being so amazing
- 1:09with us on social media online, on YouTube, on all the social
- 1:12media platforms, the amount of Engagement we've had over the
- 1:15last few weeks has been incredible since Shadow, modern
- 1:17ended. And of course, we've been able
- 1:19to ask you guys for questions for ideas, suggestions on
- 1:23speakers on topics and something that's come up in the past is
- 1:27and Charles is something we're talking about today.
- 1:29And what does that say? You mentioned and that is, you
- 1:32know, the theme is, for example, that were being out of control
- 1:35as you know, we get Confused. You know I listen to eggs we
- 1:38listen to why who sing the truth is misleading?
- 1:40Us as I think, let's kick kick, start the conversation today.
- 1:43By introducing, our amazing guest brother has a mother is
- 1:47Salam aleikum walekum Salam years since I've sat beside you.
- 1:55So Each day they grow they grow
- 2:31they get older, don't miss that time was you know sometimes with
- 2:34life you work so much busy with different things projects this
- 2:39and that there's only so much you can give you know I believe
- 2:44every human is born with a certain energy each day that
- 2:48energy needs to be given to the most important things in your
- 2:51life, you only have that energy. It's not you're never going to
- 2:54have like extra. It's not like a charging point,
- 2:57it doesn't work you way. Couple of a certain amount of
- 2:59energy. It's not touches.
- 3:00Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly.
- 3:02So you wake up and everything you have to give it Priority,
- 3:06you have to wake up every day. And you think what is the most
- 3:09important thing in my life family studies?
- 3:13You have to work this a necessity and you give that
- 3:16energy to these main three things.
- 3:18If you have something else I did you give it a certain type of
- 3:22energy and that's the way I try to, you know, balance my life.
- 3:25That's a nice approach, of course, because we get bogged
- 3:27down Lot of time in the rat race of life and at times when we
- 3:33reflect and we sit down and we have that moment of reflection
- 3:35which is why, of course, we understand that reflection is so
- 3:38is I bother in itself, purely? Of course, because we understand
- 3:41that, that that, that neutralization, that that really
- 3:46understanding, that rekindling of oneself, brings you back to
- 3:50reality, you know. Of course, when we like you
- 3:53said, hasn't if you don't mind me calling you.
- 3:57Yeah. It's it with is very easy for us
- 4:00like you said to get bogged down in these things and we lose
- 4:03track of where we're going. But of course, for someone like
- 4:05yourself, you've had such a, an interesting flamboyant CV past
- 4:11that I think that's why we wanted to bring you on.
- 4:14If you don't mind me saying and there's so much in your past and
- 4:17your present and inshallah on your future, which I think we
- 4:19can benefit from can learn from your experiences and Shalom.
- 4:22We can share our own. If we have any, and then
- 4:24inshallah we can find strategize a way to move forward as a
- 4:27community. Right now, I think we've found
- 4:30that the last few years with the rise of social media, all the
- 4:34jolly and also all the goodness. We see on social media means
- 4:37there's a conflict between those who spread truth.
- 4:41You know. And those who spread falsehood.
- 4:43Okay, Where Do We Begin? I want to ask you, your thoughts
- 4:47on, like, the overview of Muslims, engaging in dialogue
- 4:52and discourse on social media and on YouTube, So as you know,
- 4:58I've obviously I've been involved in the scene for what
- 5:01not 31 years old? 11 years now?
- 5:04Hmm, to be honest with you, most of most of the time it's not
- 5:10fruitful The fire in the back and forth is unbelievable and no
- 5:16one can keep their emotions in check, which is a bad thing.
- 5:22And it's I think I think the direction is going like when you
- 5:26see example, social media and back and forth between sunnis
- 5:31and Shiites disgusting. Now this is not to say that
- 5:35maybe my early years, I wasn't, you know, maybe someone that was
- 5:38doing exactly what I'm calling right now, disgusting.
- 5:42I think sometimes it takes a bit of wisdom and growth and
- 5:46development for you to understand.
- 5:48Okay, there's a certain way of doing things you have to learn
- 5:50from that. I think that's a very important
- 5:54yeah, I mean the other day I was going through Tik-Tok and I
- 5:57would just I was like flabbergasted.
- 6:01I was just like what is going on is do people still do this
- 6:04stuff? Yeah, I mean the day and night
- 6:08whatever time you go on social media, you're seeing it.
- 6:11It's like, you know, I have a job, you're not have a life.
- 6:14Are we talking about the sunni-shia?
- 6:16The official band and it's so, like, you know, you got 11 from
- 6:20one side, someone attacking Mota, then the other one replies
- 6:24with attacking I show something. And it's like highs There's a
- 6:29way of doing things. Yeah, officer social media ever.
- 6:32Now, has an opinion, yeah, somehow a matters, right?
- 6:35And yeah, it's I think it's, I think it's gone down a dark
- 6:38road, but I also believe I don't think is controllable, no one
- 6:43can control, it's not nothing you can do.
- 6:47Like I said, is not controllable.
- 6:48That was out of control. They actually like it, honey.
- 6:51I remember, maybe when I was probably 18, 19 20, I've been
- 6:56Speakers Corner a few times. And I think at that time, I used
- 7:01to be a more sensible. I don't know.
- 7:04I think was like, more filtered more calm more, everything.
- 7:07But now, it's more like everyone's trying to score
- 7:08points. Yeah.
- 7:09And try to win an argument and try possibly get more views
- 7:12online. I have no ask you, sorry.
- 7:14Because we've got quite an international audience.
- 7:15Yes. What is because on Speakers
- 7:17Corner? Correct me if I'm wrong now.
- 7:19It's like the only corner and United Kingdom where you can say
- 7:22what you want. Yeah, I know, get arrested.
- 7:24I'm not mistaken. There's certain things.
- 7:26Yeah, as long as it's not like, You know, wouldn't be defined as
- 7:30hate preaching, oki-doki known as a free speech or not.
- 7:34Yeah, I believe I lost speakers Corners, actually, like, on
- 7:36TripAdvisor. The way people actually like
- 7:38recommend this and people. I mean, when it, when it was in.
- 7:42Yeah, once ever, okay, I'm talking to Speakers Corner
- 7:51obviously. I mean, have I gone there when
- 7:54it was like, I don't care about any March or something of
- 7:56course, but not there to discuss our.
- 7:58I went there. But I was like, no way not like
- 8:03you know, I will be my friends always to, we will say.
- 8:07So I went through different stages religiously.
- 8:09It was a stage where we call it beast mode, and it was just kind
- 8:13of like, you know, fire fight go.
- 8:18I went there once and I'll still semi beast mode at the time.
- 8:23And I was like, no, no, this this doesn't represent Islam.
- 8:26Like what's going on here? Doesn't represent Islam.
- 8:29I never went back everyday. I don't think I would ever call
- 8:32somewhat about. It doesn't represent Islam
- 8:33because of a lot of us have gone through that.
- 8:35Like you said stages, spiritually in religiously, our
- 8:38opinions, ideologies of evolved have changed over time.
- 8:41A lot of us would either gain or knowledge or question or
- 8:44knowledge on the back of videos, like the ones we see on speaker
- 8:47from speakers corner. So what about it doesn't
- 8:52represent Islam. Is it?
- 8:53The, the platform and the way in which people are engaging and
- 8:57polemics is it The polemicists themselves, is it?
- 9:00The the tone and the way they speak.
- 9:02What is really? Okay three.
- 9:04I'll tell you what, though? They now you imagine that the
- 9:10time I went and what made me go was it was like week after week
- 9:16week after week. I don't want to say, Sony's, I
- 9:20don't want to generalize but they say a group of sunni-shia.
- 9:23So I think it's better better wording to use.
- 9:26So these group was sunnis. He's a, he's a kid walking past
- 9:31shear and then they even tried it with him.
- 9:34It's like I said, leave him alone.
- 9:38And then there was a few times they got physical leave or not,
- 9:42you know, you know, they're beating up a few shirts, you
- 9:44know that, right? I like I know some guy, I don't
- 9:47mention his name, he doesn't like he's not the attacking
- 9:51type, he is not the attack, like he's not the attacking type
- 9:54verbally, like, you know, talking about the revered
- 9:58personalities, know, He's a quiet guy, does his thing, they
- 10:02beat him up, they beat him up. So we kept on seeing in the,
- 10:06he's bullying these, she a kids and things like that.
- 10:11So I was like, okay. Cool.
- 10:15Is that? You don't want to do it?
- 10:16Alright, no problem. So we went in and I have my
- 10:21books ready and I had them in a bag.
- 10:25One of the brothers was holding it for me.
- 10:26Think it was my older brother, but we going to get angry that I
- 10:29mentioned it. But yeah, my older brother was
- 10:31hosted in Philly. We go in and so, I just said, I
- 10:37said, I want to end and they Sunni group was there and I came
- 10:43in, I said, listen, I'll debate 10 Everyone gets a minute and I
- 10:49reply in 10 minutes. They didn't want it.
- 10:55There's that guy. I was just named MC I'm sure you
- 10:58people watch them on YouTube and so on.
- 11:02He was like nah nah we turn our backs of the wrath of her.
- 11:05I said to him you didn't turn your back to the wrath of a last
- 11:08week or the week before. Why?
- 11:09Now right now, what's the difference now?
- 11:13Then we got into like back and forth, but this wasn't the
- 11:17Baton. Now, it was more kind of like
- 11:19discussing. Like, why you hit?
- 11:21They were asking me kind of thing.
- 11:24And then he goes, he goes, yeah, we don't debate a little bit
- 11:27that they've got a principal. Where are they?
- 11:32Whoa, most selfies would abide by is that they don't debate the
- 11:37people of innovation because the people of innovation will make
- 11:40them make the lame man affect them affects them, right?
- 11:44So you know, if you don't mind me interrupting, some of the
- 11:47names you mentioned and obviously some of the like the
- 11:50tactics that you've mentioned are strategic and of confusion
- 11:54like you said, a lot of a lot of Youth Muslim youth, especially
- 11:58share our youth. Around the world are getting
- 12:02targeted directly or indirectly. So whether they're like showing
- 12:05a physical presence or whether they're online, they become
- 12:08victim to either misinformation or aggressive that a lot like
- 12:12you said, say and that kind of tactic, which is employed to
- 12:17make people question, the fundamentals of what we believe.
- 12:21And obviously at the same time trying to shake, you know, our
- 12:26belief system in our community and that's our trust and our See
- 12:29in our speakers and that kind of stuff are books and so on, but
- 12:33on the online scene because outside of Speakers Corner,
- 12:36people don't know about what happens on the ground and have
- 12:40the same sort of story that you do.
- 12:41But on the online community, this continues.
- 12:43So, on a day to day basis, like you said, on Tick-Tock on
- 12:46YouTube, there are series that are produced, there are, you
- 12:49know, one minute Clips 10 reasons to leave shiism.
- 12:51I saw today, you know, things like that.
- 12:54Where do we begin to understand this?
- 12:55What do you reckon say? Because obviously I know you've.
- 12:57Come on, do something. Yeah.
- 13:02But they give ten reasons. I'll give them three reasons to
- 13:05leave soon either by. Okay, thank you.
- 13:08By the way, even then ten reasons that you mentioning it's
- 13:12like each point will get absolutely.
- 13:14That's fair but then doesn't that develop a back and forth
- 13:17which becomes futile so you can give 10 you give stay gets 50,
- 13:21gives 100 and then there's a never-ending cycle.
- 13:23So some might turn around. Say what's the point of this?
- 13:26Have the end of the day like you said, how do you have course for
- 13:28me to more minion, I live in a big pile of Slaughter livestock
- 13:31male ways. Says, of course, I'm
- 13:33paraphrasing again. People don't know the truth and
- 13:39First Look for the truth and look to those who adhere to it.
- 13:42All right, so when we understand how do you like that people then
- 13:46understand think a lot of what's the point of these videos?
- 13:48These back and forth the aggression and the snide remarks
- 13:53GCM coming from. Yeah.
- 13:54Is it an effective strategy? Because honestly, we see a lot
- 13:56of that right now and there's a difference like you said, before
- 13:58the podcast, put in being good at debating and being good at
- 14:01arguing, Presenting your point and I think, I think listen is a
- 14:05free world. Yeah, and you know, when we look
- 14:10back at, like, for example, the time of Imam Sadiq alaysalam,
- 14:13we're like the different schools of theology started to really
- 14:16flourish and establish themselves, thirds and degree.
- 14:19You see the companions of the amounts?
- 14:21You know, you Shaman hackham had a friend, his business partner,
- 14:25my memory serves me, right? Was from the khawarij khawarij.
- 14:30He would sit there and And you know, he would debate them.
- 14:33But there wasn't that kind of you know, belittling kind of
- 14:37kind of thing. Now of course maybe is there a
- 14:41wire to one of the companions? They do that?
- 14:44Maybe. Yeah.
- 14:45But I'm saying generally that wasn't the case now and you know
- 14:50like sometimes people my black eye but you did it to me but I'm
- 14:53like okay guys. I mean, it's that was like five,
- 14:57ten years five, ten years ago. I was finished about know, that
- 15:01approach is wrong. I think like if you want to make
- 15:03a video And you want to refute four examples from these anymore
- 15:08atheism or feminism or whatever it is, do it, this one is be
- 15:14sure what you're saying. Know what you're speaking about,
- 15:18you know, there's a, I tweeted today.
- 15:21There's a companion of Imam Aruba And I'll carve on alayhim
- 15:26as-salam. His name is Eunice bin.
- 15:28Abdulrahman this guy was one of the greatest Companions of the
- 15:34amounts. Some reports they're not the
- 15:36most reliable but it says like, I'm just trying to show you what
- 15:40type of status he is or was kind of found about him and I will
- 15:44books where it says he was the Salman Al mohammadi of his time.
- 15:50Lockwood. He said when he said he says,
- 15:54again, this report is not by Elmer Rajasthan, is not
- 15:58considered authentic, but it's not a mom and it has that kind
- 16:05of benefits that you take from. So you mentioned it for from the
- 16:08standpoint of, but I can't say to you and it's been up there.
- 16:10I'm on definitely said it, but you take the benefits benefits
- 16:14from it. He says, 20 years, I listened 20
- 16:19years, I asked, And then I answered.
- 16:23Yeah, many of those that I'm talking, she has now, there are
- 16:27sitting on Tick Tock, Instagram, they're not well verse, they
- 16:33don't even know their own books. Reading an article and then,
- 16:37using the article to reply. Okay, great.
- 16:39I'm sure that some articles are great, like, they do the job.
- 16:42But it's like, have you really understood the whole topic?
- 16:46So we should understand what who we are and what we believe
- 16:48before. We start engaging in these
- 16:50things which are not beneficial other day, right?
- 16:52And it'll Shake one's own opinion.
- 16:54Yeah, there's a saying okay. Sorry sir.
- 17:08No. Know, your position.
- 17:34I think that's the problem, because, for example, the the
- 17:38anti-war movement on Tick Tock is very big, but no one is
- 17:42responding to them. So, the result of this is now
- 17:45kids are going on live responding to these people.
- 17:48And that probably these kids are gonna be read by sunnis, who
- 17:52that they do not, they do not reply to.
- 17:54So who should be responding to these guys?
- 17:57Look, I'll be honest, just ignore them.
- 17:59I'm with you that that's a fair question.
- 18:03I totally get it. Yeah, I'll tell you a quick
- 18:07story, is a funny story. I actually went to learn Arabic
- 18:11alone on my own in 6 months how to read and write.
- 18:14Yeah, obviously we want our books going, things like that,
- 18:16but he'll tell you, I was getting chucked out of every
- 18:18lesson but I want to learn it in six months on my own.
- 18:22You know why? I did exactly what these young
- 18:25Chihuahua doing was on Twitter. And it was, you know, debate
- 18:29debate article found the article, put the scan, you know,
- 18:33other not to read Arabic at the time, put it out.
- 18:36And he's like, the guy started, I was like, well it doesn't even
- 18:38say what you're saying. Hmm.
- 18:40And I looked at and never follow.
- 18:42So like disheartened I must be embarrassing.
- 18:48My heart broke so I was like, okay yeah I know.
- 18:52Okay, leave this you go. Go back to the bookstore.
- 18:55Like it shows the importance that you need to know what
- 18:58you're reading and saying. Before you even share this
- 19:00knowledge, that one things they possess yeah, to the world.
- 19:03But I think a question I want to ask nothing is a serious
- 19:06question. And we, as Muslims ultimately,
- 19:09we want to get closer to Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and Jupiter.
- 19:11Now, I don't think we grow, I think this mainly affects you,
- 19:15as I don't think they use nowadays, want to, you know,
- 19:19spend their lives and hours, and weekends and online time,
- 19:22debating for Who lets first and you know, who's the fourth
- 19:26caliph like for example, I don't what I want on the sun is what
- 19:31drives you to forget. Your solid team for example.
- 19:34What is your what stops you from wanting to?
- 19:36For example on the stand today you die.
- 19:39Darlin Abu ammar but they are more like your main call.
- 19:42You know, what you stand on as a Muslim.
- 19:45Why would you step away from this?
- 19:46If you are seeking knowledge and trying to share knowledge and
- 19:49step into that field, where all you're doing is debating, who's
- 19:53right? Who's wrong?
- 19:54You know, that's a general question for me.
- 19:56Yeah. So I think most of us question
- 19:59is kind of in the center line related in a certain sense.
- 20:02Yeah, there's a beautiful wire and I hope the shabaab are
- 20:06watching this. I know that burn in your heart,
- 20:10you know? They're saying she has him, is
- 20:12this, she has, apparently, you know, this honor, Imam, Ali,
- 20:16this so intimate, how to get gold back from, you know, from
- 20:19your heart, you're going to reply our guests, a defense
- 20:21mode. It's a defense mode.
- 20:24Canary, you know what? Got me into seeking knowledge.
- 20:26So do you. With my friends that were salafi
- 20:30IG. They went to Yemen for like two
- 20:33years. Came back there that you're a
- 20:34cover story. Multiple I used to eat from the
- 20:37same plate as you recover. Are you like mr.
- 20:40King. Sorry your comfort and then you
- 20:44got the bay. And so I started reading because
- 20:46I need to defend by the way, I was like 20 other even know
- 20:49there was a book. Our main book of Hadith is
- 20:52al-kafi by Cheryl Cole a knee, right?
- 20:54I didn't know that existed, awful Bihar was our book what we
- 20:56just did except a little bit like some sweaty.
- 21:00But anyway, when I started to read, I was like, I have to
- 21:05start replying. My whole thing was reactionary
- 21:08but you know, you know, you know if I didn't Change that.
- 21:12My Religion will be destroyed. I'll tell you why, there's a
- 21:15wire and a book called kitab atarid, Tabata him, but not by
- 21:20my real guitar, but I hate the true one.
- 21:26But she has to do one of our classic was called he narrates.
- 21:30And if my memory serves me, right, I think it's a actually,
- 21:32a reliable report from Imam. Muhammad rasul Allah saw from
- 21:36Imam Sadiq to rasulullah. He says the prophet salallahu
- 21:41alihi says as he says those that enter religion basically and to
- 21:47religion through debates arguing and someone will destroy their
- 21:52religion. This is to you young shabaab
- 21:56know that you are going to destroy your religion by doing
- 22:00this. It's a fair point by much, too.
- 22:03By the way, someone needs to do to actually be, if someone needs
- 22:06to go to Speakers Corner because now it is a platform.
- 22:10Have you not seen? I mean, are you sure?
- 22:12I'm see again. The views that he gets the
- 22:15marginal and now he's because it's a platform.
- 22:19I don't think. I think only a certain type of
- 22:23person needs to get involved in this.
- 22:28Do you mean? There's a there's a strategy and
- 22:30you got him in the way you approach, and you've got be
- 22:33strategic when it's discarded, by the way, when it's like a
- 22:37serious. So, nice color and a serious.
- 22:40She asked Allah debating, that won't be the case.
- 22:44Why? Because you know what we need to
- 22:46know is is his methodology in like history?
- 22:50Had the youth Quran and so on that you need to know but these
- 22:54guys they're not they're not Scholars.
- 22:58Well, he shames, he does some crazy things so he goes because
- 23:04a lot of shit I've seen it even on tic-tac-toe.
- 23:06Blocked him. Oh, you were you?
- 23:08Not believe Allah has a body. And he replies and he starts a
- 23:12bit Twitch in a bit and then like I'm making a sick point, he
- 23:15goes. Yeah.
- 23:19Do you. Do you exist check?
- 23:22I said, yeah, there's all exist. Yeah, is it the same thing?
- 23:26No. So they go Allah has a body but
- 23:29it's not like ours. And heck.
- 23:34What's going on muffled? But you know, she's really good
- 23:37at that. He makes himself seem like he's
- 23:39right when he really hasn't had any pain.
- 23:41I kind of just do this so much time.
- 23:43Do me a favor. Yeah.
- 23:45So I was going to watch this. I want you to put a timer now.
- 23:50So I'm going to I'm going to destroy the point in two
- 23:52minutes. Yeah because I think it's
- 23:54important because don't ever use it again, any coffee back, you
- 23:57know I mean let's let's let's do that or not know when you're
- 24:02editing or whatever do that? Yeah.
- 24:04Yeah. Okay so I've got 2 minutes old
- 24:06120 seconds. Yeah yeah okay cool similar it's
- 24:10been a lot about an alarmist Allah.
- 24:12Muhammad Ali Mohammed. Okay so you have language is
- 24:16limited. The ways you've been beings
- 24:19communicate with each. Other is limited.
- 24:22Yes. Limited.
- 24:24That language is limited. Allah has unlimited.
- 24:28So when I say Allah is merciful and zayde is merciful There is
- 24:33no other word for me to describe Allah except by me saying
- 24:37merciful because even the word mercy doesn't actually do
- 24:41justice to Allah, so it's not the same thing.
- 24:45Now, he said that, right? But we're saying no no, but
- 24:48you're saying oh, but it's not the same thing you exist and he
- 24:51exists. But it's not know.
- 24:53We're saying. Allah is merciful, say this much
- 24:56for language. The way that we communicate us,
- 24:59human beings is limited. So the the way that I described
- 25:03a lot is going to be in a limited way but he is not
- 25:07limited. And his existence is not the
- 25:10same as my existence because if it is, then we have a problem.
- 25:14Second point. Last Point what we on most about
- 25:16how many seconds do keep in contact?
- 25:19Okay, no problem. Hopefully, you can get that
- 25:22second point is okay. One Allah has a buddy.
- 25:27Yeah, yeah. So he has a form.
- 25:29Yes, if you have a form, think about me, shabab.
- 25:32Wherever is what you mean by businesses?
- 25:33The features you're talking about here for not forget
- 25:36features because he says, his hand is not like my hand.
- 25:40Okay, whatever that means, but it has a form.
- 25:44When I say, for example, this cup, this cop has a form.
- 25:49Say, it has a form, right? When you have a form.
- 25:55That means, you are limited to that form.
- 25:58And if you are limited to that form and you are a form, you are
- 26:02limited to the location. You are limited to a location.
- 26:05That means, now you are low. You are limited to location and
- 26:09time. Mmm time is First Have you
- 26:13understood the argument? So you know when he does he
- 26:16usually argue that he touches him that I did a good job.
- 26:19You didn't do a good job. So that's why we say like and by
- 26:23the way I can go even further, you know, like they have a
- 26:26report. Okay the time I has to stop.
- 26:27Now we're just continue, there's a time there's a report they
- 26:31have? They say as I as well that all
- 26:34the jokes. Now not also needs.
- 26:37Let's just be fair, you know? Take it in the literal sense.
- 26:42But no, his you no shame sizes ideology and belief is that, no,
- 26:48he Jabs his the his their Scholars would say to you.
- 26:51He jobs, I think, if my memory serves me right, I've been with
- 26:53a means as it, isn't it? So if you don't want me to talk,
- 26:57isn't the context that I had difficulty or whatever?
- 27:00You take one step towards a light extend towards you.
- 27:03Isn't that? Isn't that pretty?
- 27:07There's one like that. They take literally, and there's
- 27:08another one right here. I think the word is hot.
- 27:12Our job just like so Allah jokes.
- 27:17Sorry, get up but he doesn't talk like us.
- 27:20So we should jogging backwards. These kind of these kind of
- 27:23stories. I want to kind of move the
- 27:24conversation on a bit because like these these stories, these
- 27:29speakers like is ways and I think anyone can go online and
- 27:34obviously they can see these guys and see what their
- 27:36mannerisms are like, see what their approach is like and
- 27:39whether this is the clock of the a little bit of a mussalam and
- 27:42even those who are closest to the holy prophet, Muhammad
- 27:45sallallahu, I did what I lie with sell them.
- 27:47And the ultimate goal like you said say it is to reach a lot of
- 27:51honor to our land to develop that proximity and means for us
- 27:54to do that, is to seek, I'll seek knowledge and taqwa.
- 27:58Now then the question is, where did you get it?
- 28:01Who's you get from putting putting aside, the street
- 28:03Scholars, like you said hasn't like the the street polemics,
- 28:07the street shares, all of that stuff.
- 28:09We now come to a world where as shh, okay, putting aside the
- 28:14other schools are the six. We have so many handle Le Many
- 28:18speakers abundance of speakers. You know, it's hard to keep up
- 28:22with the amount of content online.
- 28:24However, a lot of them, different opinion on ideology on
- 28:27approach on speciality, these things like that.
- 28:30Where do I begin? Let's say I'm 16 years old.
- 28:33I've become by 11 the last few years and now trying to take
- 28:37mice. Really like me, I was Ice,
- 28:39truckey hit me up, point in my teenage years, where I'm like,
- 28:41what am I doing? I'm not praying enough.
- 28:43I'm not fasting. Well, would you go?
- 28:45I'm saying. So I think a lot of 'Well, then
- 28:48get to that stage. For me.
- 28:49It was when I was about seven. I remember like last year, a
- 28:51level first year uni, I went into that Vibes.
- 28:54I did my history research. My will I understanding, you
- 28:57know, that's where you start. We understand stuffy for and
- 29:00then you move from there. That's where I start at least.
- 29:02So for me, that was the right took, where does one begin?
- 29:05How do we judge knowledge? So I want to ask you said, if
- 29:08you don't mind but then we go to hasson because obviously this is
- 29:11like a, it's the foundation for everything we understand and not
- 29:14knowledge never ends. I will yearning for knowledge.
- 29:17Then my understanding has a correct me stop for example
- 29:21Yani. Let's say we are trying to seek
- 29:23knowledge and shallow. That's everyone's goal and we
- 29:25know the rules were and you know we know what a loli, why are you
- 29:28selling M? You know, seek knowledge from
- 29:29Cradle to grave famously. The and as a Muslim this is what
- 29:32we ultimately want. And you mentioned the point
- 29:35where, you know, we have a variety of speakers called as
- 29:37etcetera and a different opinion.
- 29:39And I the way I've understood it, I'm going to has an
- 29:42elaborate on. This is that, for example, any
- 29:43if we have the basic understanding of Quran and Say
- 29:48the shoulder or the teachings of the elevator is not.
- 29:50If what we're hearing contradict score on and that if it
- 29:53contradicts the faculty in of waters, Allah sallallahu
- 29:56alehiwassallaam, left for us, then something is wrong in that
- 29:59opinion, but how can I judge? I don't know.
- 30:01I'm clueless to be honest, because if we looking at these
- 30:06may Allah bless, every available.
- 30:08Every student that goes to seek knowledge because we learn from
- 30:11them. Ultimately, that's how do we
- 30:12know. I don't know what I asked you.
- 30:15Can I ask you when you when you're on a journey?
- 30:17To seek knowledge. Okay, what's the first point of
- 30:20call for you? Okay, we said Quran is sudden
- 30:22but what on a personal level where the said, I'll you go to
- 30:26just to get an understanding and it bro, you can be as open as
- 30:29you like you can say you to be transparent.
- 30:31You can say your parents. Like, for me, it's probably
- 30:34online. If I have friends or I have like
- 30:38family who I know are more learner than I will speak to
- 30:41them about you. If sometimes I do this
- 30:44self-learning think. Yeah.
- 30:46Where it can become. Tricky and dangerous.
- 30:49Because sometimes you don't know if you're if you're having the
- 30:51right Source, the best thing I can do if I'm in that situation
- 30:54which I have been on numerous times.
- 30:56Let's ask someone I trust with them right?
- 30:59And I trust a certain, you know, scholar or so I can double-check
- 31:02you. I've read I can.
- 31:04And if it's in line and this more than one scholar saying the
- 31:07same thing to me in Charlotte, that's the right way because I
- 31:10can be wrong as an adult that you agree with me and another.
- 31:14I was kind of just taking in what you're saying.
- 31:16No, I don't think you're wrong. Wrong. look, knowledge is a How
- 31:25do I want to say? So, I don't disagree with
- 31:27anything. You said, I think we have a
- 31:30problem now. Community Salah, when it comes
- 31:33to knowledge, it's terrible. I mean, I sit down with a lot of
- 31:38shabab regularly sometimes. I'll have they'll be like a
- 31:42gathering that we 3040, I'm like, okay, I just need to ask
- 31:46some people some questions. Yeah.
- 31:49Can you tell me four main books of Hadith but this year?
- 31:56You got about two hands, the two hands that you get one of them
- 32:01black Gap. I read them.
- 32:02I go back to them but I don't be like.
- 32:05Okay so You read them. Now, I just know them as
- 32:11realistically, just one. Yeah, so at that level With
- 32:17doing bad to retreat, esta out. Well, she don't know, you know,
- 32:21what? As you were saying this, by the
- 32:23way and I thought I don't wanna go back to this initiative from
- 32:29them from ourselves. Yeah, I think that's dangerous
- 32:32because all, we, truly seeking knowledge over there just to
- 32:35like, School points trying, but, you know, is I have my opinion.
- 32:43The whole shit Sunni. But, you know, suddenly
- 32:47Bookshare books, my opinion on it has kind of changed.
- 32:50I don't believe, I don't believe so, I'm not of the opinion that
- 32:54all your Now by signing your books.
- 32:56No, no, we have to discuss it, because when bukhari Muslim were
- 33:01writing these books, they weren't writing it just for for
- 33:04Sonny's. No, they weren't just fighting
- 33:06for something. They were writing it for
- 33:08Muslims. This is the chain that I have.
- 33:10They had a certain standard. Now, of course, we disagree with
- 33:13them on the criteria of sahay week, whatever.
- 33:17But generally, for example, if you have other wire in Sunni
- 33:21books, that's motor water becomes a hug, and you're going
- 33:23to have to investigate and gonna have to have some type of reply.
- 33:27Now, obviously, we don't want to get into it, I'm so slow, you
- 33:29know? That we have more about to go to
- 33:45sleep. Yeah he's laughing.
- 33:48What's that was about to go to sleep.
- 33:49You go 6.6. Let's say 15 people say it.
- 33:54Then their students, the 15. Each one has a different
- 33:57student, they narrate the same thing, same thing becomes
- 34:00Matawan time, they're legit, can't sit down in one place,
- 34:03like in most cases 99% of the time, let's say you're not going
- 34:07to get people comes sit down. You know what?
- 34:09We're going to gather, we're going to lie about it and then
- 34:11their own array in the same thing on each level China, you
- 34:15know, narrator after narrator. Yeah, and then legitimate
- 34:19reliable people, the trustworthy, the razors are no
- 34:22not so. So there's a discussion there so
- 34:24some of them, some of them would say that all of them need to be
- 34:28trustworthy but from what I've seen it seems like majority
- 34:32don't believe so right. Okay you know because I like it
- 34:34doesn't always like right. Hmm.
- 34:36Okay interesting. This technically is yeah but but
- 34:39we're going back to the initial conversation on seeking
- 34:41knowledge. Yeah.
- 34:42Okay what's like the Layman will do this thing like say it said
- 34:48and I've said I'm definitely a Layman but in a sense of seeking
- 34:50Knowledge from those around us of see them Everyone will grow
- 34:54up and everyone wants this. If I'm not mistaken this Hadith
- 34:57about about being a better parent than your own parent was
- 35:00and that kind of thing and trying to improve on the
- 35:03generations before you. So everyone will ask reflect on
- 35:06what they've been told and then reassess and see if this is
- 35:09something I Implement in my life.
- 35:10This ideology. I accept and adopt geom same.
- 35:13But that, that, that approach might only be a primary form of
- 35:18approach because we lack a means to seek knowledge.
- 35:22When I say that, I mean, for example, Okay, we have, like I
- 35:25said, an abundance of speakers. We have content online, we have
- 35:28courses in some senses and some more skin, some Heusen in the
- 35:31UK, for example. But other than that, other than
- 35:35that, is it case of we lack quality of content as
- 35:38allocating? That quantity quantity of
- 35:40content, but why is it that you said that the majority of our
- 35:44shabaab lack knowledge? Is it because we don't have
- 35:46enough options is because we lack the viral driver.
- 35:50I think it's say, It's like a Domino's effect.
- 35:54Yeah, you know it's a thing that we've picked up from generation
- 36:00after generation now. It's been like this.
- 36:02It seems, it seems like it's been like this for the last few
- 36:05centuries. It's just dying down, and it,
- 36:10and it's kind of more like There is an interest in knowledge.
- 36:16When people want to go modulus, it's just, you know eat more or
- 36:21less want to go to the modulus and you just want to, you know,
- 36:24it's kind of like we're just waiting for that last part cry.
- 36:27A bit. Feel good.
- 36:28You know, when you cry for the imams, a little muscle on that
- 36:31Hill bait, cleanses your soul, it catches your soul, like
- 36:34there's no doubt about the feelings, amazing, right?
- 36:36But growth is the ultimate goals.
- 36:38It's like, like when the Imam says, for example, when your
- 36:41mama Sadiq Ali Sonam and beehive, The last saw the
- 36:44release arm. When he says example cry my
- 36:47grandfather, her saying he's telling you that.
- 36:51Not, because that's the objective, that's the means to
- 36:55the objective. Why?
- 36:57Because one, when you're crying for the Imam, you're crying one
- 37:02cleansing your soul to your attaching yourself to him, you
- 37:07know. You've got an emotional
- 37:09attachment to him not just on a spiritual historical mental, not
- 37:15as spiritual. And when, when your spirit and
- 37:18your emotions, that means you're leaving your physical senses
- 37:22connected to. Yeah.
- 37:23You see how beautiful it is? But that's all that you're doing
- 37:27it. Why to reach Allah subhanahu
- 37:30wa'ta'ala. You know, the first verse that
- 37:33came down upon those who didn't extra credit, mr.
- 37:36Baker, Lady of color color palette, read knowledge.
- 37:40Seek every single Prophet came to teach you knowledge.
- 37:43What are we doing? There's our wire from my memory.
- 37:48Says, you might even amount of background in homicide up.
- 37:50He says he said, I don't mind. I wouldn't mind to whip the
- 37:54heads of my companions until the have to fuck bull.
- 37:59Understanding of Dean. There's a, you know, there's a
- 38:02beaut for a while, I'll read it to you because as it's it's
- 38:06around these days that it's the martyrdom of Imam, al-sadiq a.s.
- 38:11So there are wires found in coffee, one of our most reliable
- 38:16book and the chain is as authentic as it can get.
- 38:21I read the chain because I always like to do that because
- 38:24what in most cases so that people get familiar with these
- 38:27person at these are the people that are giving us our Dean
- 38:30without them. We don't know what Assad has
- 38:33said. So alkaline in a raid for
- 38:35Muhammad. When you hear his teacher from
- 38:37Ahmed bin Mohammed, it would be. I might be Mohammed bin Isa Al a
- 38:43Sharia law and even a Beyond male most reliable narrator.
- 38:49Yeah, from his Sean been silent for maybe Abdullah says when my
- 38:54father was about to leave this world, so Mom and Barbara was
- 38:57about to die. He said, o jodphur.
- 39:01I recommend you to be good to my companions.
- 39:06Wow. A listen to the reply, a lot of
- 39:08work but I then said may Allah take my soul in service for your
- 39:13cause by Allah, I will educate them as much as such that in any
- 39:20City where any of them would live, he would not need to ask
- 39:25others for knowledge of religion.
- 39:28Yeah, Allahu Akbar. We're going to get us on the
- 39:31water. Oh no.
- 39:45- do you think, let me ask you this question?
- 39:48Yeah, as a community, have we become so cocooned, like you
- 39:53said, generationally passed down, especially if you don't.
- 39:56Mind me saying, as an honor, Rocky.
- 39:58And we talked a lot about culture and identity on this
- 40:00podcast, but Jenny, for example, your car.
- 40:03But I said, yeah. Well your your your ancestors,
- 40:08you see. Here we go.
- 40:15Sisters have been born and bred above the letter saying
- 40:19alaysalam, and the sense that they cannibalize does it, but
- 40:23this is now a city created for about the dollar saying, right
- 40:26now, when that becomes their lives, their livelihoods, their
- 40:30Community, their family, their interaction, the social game,
- 40:32everything is built around that, and then it's built into your
- 40:36blood safety. And your DNA is become a
- 40:38journalist, you get me. So maybe it gets to a point,
- 40:41very much certain communities. Yeah, but maybe with all of our
- 40:44communities as well. That we become.
- 40:46So like swamped in the love that we have for the elevator the
- 40:51Muslim specifically in Muharram that we stop there and we don't
- 40:55have a yearning to go further. You go on saying I don't
- 40:58disagree because I don't know if you recall, I think it was the
- 41:01kick start of season 2 of the podcast.
- 41:03Yeah. Where I bring this point in and
- 41:06I was like, you know, I feel like a shiera we make our
- 41:10believe very cultural rather than, you know, based on a la
- 41:13spada. I'm going to I'm going to call
- 41:14it out as it is. Yeah.
- 41:16And I say, again, I'll take a look on any day, but there is
- 41:18more to lot on just morning. You have to understand the
- 41:21semester because for example you bring up your mother for saying
- 41:24earlier and your conversation here correct or why did the
- 41:28amount of saying go to karbala we like a lot throughout the
- 41:36purified. If we take only, you know, our
- 41:51belief cultural, of course, all we're gonna have is lawful I
- 41:54need to be more than that. I know.
- 41:55We've really sunk as it can be, I would say, well that without
- 42:00this, I don't think I am who I am know that keeps us where we
- 42:06need to hear. Brings us back.
- 42:18so, you know, I said we have to start to look at history on
- 42:29studying history in a very natural way.
- 42:32We look at it a lot like special.
- 42:35Now a Pulpit as an outside, the least and then another I'm to
- 42:38eat for in from the outside, the inside the wherever you want to
- 42:41go to column and every angle, we've made even made a lot into
- 42:46this Marvel Avengers, you know, Avengers versus panels and we
- 42:51have, I'm not happy. We look at History in a very
- 42:55natural way. So I was trying to explain it to
- 42:57my father said, look, we're looking at in a very natural
- 42:59way. I was like let me give you an
- 43:01example. So as she as we don't take our
- 43:06Dean from the second caliph, we don't not someone that we see
- 43:11him. As you know, someone we take our
- 43:13religion. Actually we stay away from him
- 43:15so varied, only. Yeah.
- 43:18So I was like, okay, What he done in essence is evil.
- 43:27It's against what Allah and his Messenger to, he won against the
- 43:30Commandments of rasulullah. There's our beliefs sir, I said,
- 43:33no down, I need the conclusion on him as a she I is that we
- 43:37don't accept this person. So.
- 43:39Yeah. So I was like well if it's
- 43:42proven method in that the second caliph was, there's a narration
- 43:47in water water, you know, game. That was 32 water.
- 43:51Weight was walking down Medina. He saw a lady.
- 43:53That was poor. He gave her a house fed her and
- 43:57you know, it's a good thing. I was like, for me it's just be
- 44:02like, okay I did a good thing but still don't take anything
- 44:05from him because that's the way the it doesn't.
- 44:07It's the same thing. When I have when I have Hitler,
- 44:11you like if there was a story that was confirmed, he was
- 44:14walking down the street one day. Sorry lady.
- 44:17He told his, you know, cameras wherever feed her clothes, her
- 44:21make sure she's good look after her family, but okay, but I
- 44:24still think Hitler's evil person.
- 44:27Hmm. My dad actually take it and he
- 44:29was like, To my brother because I've changed a lot in my
- 44:33opinions, right? If like hustling, okay, you're
- 44:35right. It doesn't mean he didn't have a
- 44:54human side where it doesn't mean he's good, like Harley been
- 45:00wedding. Again, our shares we don't take
- 45:05anything from him. We stay away from him.
- 45:07So far away far away. But he was one of the greatest
- 45:11generals under, you know, when we say in Islam and Islam in the
- 45:16sense of the umbrella is some write the title Islam, right to
- 45:20question. If you look at if you look at a
- 45:23CV wow it was a real politician. Yeah it's like yeah it's like
- 45:28please but there's solar no. Wow, we are.
- 45:33Okay as he was a good poet so relax.
- 45:36Oh it was the worst Posse ever. No it's okay.
- 45:42He's better. No Richard are.
- 45:43Let's say, you know, I mean so it's just
- 45:59like guys. I'm just trying to explain to
- 46:01you that even though it is difficult this.
- 46:05Yeah. So yeah, I mean not even
- 46:08certain. We've gone so far.
- 46:11You know the event of karbala Habibi.
- 46:14Karbala from the pole. So tragic?
- 46:16Yeah of course of course. Yeah.
- 46:18Yeah it's so tragic. It doesn't need.
- 46:20We know what needs to add spices to it.
- 46:23Arabella is karbala Allahu Akbar.
- 46:27ABI abdillah al-hussein stood in front of the army of yazeed.
- 46:34And you know, his whole family got it doesn't need, we don't
- 46:37need to do these things. It's a problem 11.
- 46:41But you know, you know, I'll tell you something, it's very
- 46:44hard. What was very hard because you
- 46:46know, we was talking about before, you know, we turned on
- 46:49the cameras and so on, is that You know, especially now I'm not
- 46:54really having become mainstream anymore, right?
- 46:58I'm very like, in My Own Lane in a certain sense.
- 47:00Not in my own lane like I'm this, show us your journey.
- 47:02Great, great personality. Yeah, but you know what, you
- 47:05know, what really makes me stronger.
- 47:07I got attacked by, you know, these extremists sunnis and I
- 47:12didn't sweat, not even sweat and that's for two reasons.
- 47:19I come from a very masculine household.
- 47:21My dad is like a army, General Paula.
- 47:26I hate to ask manhood, I'm young back when I used to get sent
- 47:30home from for fighting positive masculinity.
- 47:33Of course. Yeah.
- 47:34This is just to clarify. Yeah.
- 47:36Yeah, of course, of course, no 100%.
- 47:39You can't be a share on have toxic masculinity and represent
- 47:42that mr. John, you know, you you care
- 47:46about your honor and your dignity.
- 47:47I still can get some home for fighting from school.
- 47:50The door got opened you win? Yeah.
- 47:52All right. Come in.
- 47:55Now and this is not to say when I came into this area where we
- 48:07was like one of the first Muslim family.
- 48:09Hmm. You know, they will try to pull
- 48:11my sister's, her job of I was a young kid.
- 48:14How long was my brother that had to deal with it?
- 48:16So from the get-go, Yeah, the men in the house is like 78
- 48:21years old saurabh gadgil, you know, be a man, but isn't there,
- 48:26you know, what is the stories of the companions of the amount?
- 48:28You know, why I say Companions of the imams?
- 48:31Because the Imam is much soon Yes, I'm Lettin me, right?
- 48:36Yes, that Divine knowledge. And if there's actually a
- 48:39revived where the Imam at Lisa, he says I'm paraphrasing.
- 48:42I can't remember exactly why. But he said something along the
- 48:44lines of The the is the shit out of that our own greatness is
- 48:53like because we're in Mom's. Yeah.
- 48:55Again a afraid. I'm not, it's not what I work
- 48:58but we're wearing mom's worried. Do they wear red today?
- 49:02You look, you know, working with trying to strengthen your heart
- 49:06you know, but I always go back to the companion but there's a
- 49:09really nice little why. I think the Hadith is found in a
- 49:13book called agile kitschy or some take cash.
- 49:16She, and it's about the companion.
- 49:20Mentioned before your own has been up there, a man mmm.
- 49:24So it says the righteous slaves, so sometimes in the required,
- 49:28when you go to it. So just for those that know,
- 49:30inshaallah and they're reading more Hadith, there's certain
- 49:34titles for the imams that you that maybe Jack for a thawing.
- 49:38Hmm, you know, Harry says, I love the solid, so I've decided
- 49:41hey means Imam will cover what he says.
- 49:44He says, oh, Eunice sent to the word.
- 49:46But this one really makes me not care about what others.
- 49:49Say listen to the word, help you.
- 49:52Oh Jonas, be more lenient towards them.
- 49:57For your words, a hard hitting on them.
- 50:00A lot of the companions of the imams, the other ones is the
- 50:03hate on Eunice. He was so great in his knowledge
- 50:06and support. He said so you only says I said,
- 50:11but they call me as India. He said to me, so the Imam says
- 50:17them, what will it harm you if you have in your hands a pearl,
- 50:23but the people say to you it is a stone and what will it benefit
- 50:28you if you have in your hand, a stone at the people say, it is a
- 50:32poem Allahu Akbar and he's a solid wall is a lot.
- 50:43This one that I just mentioned is a authentic one. this one is
- 50:47not the most reliable, but it continues for my mother and he
- 50:50says, he says, What does it matter?
- 50:54If you have a or a stone. It's like, I mentioned.
- 50:57But then he says, What matters is that you are upon the truth
- 51:02and your Imam is pleased with Isis.
- 51:05And that's how you push forward in life.
- 51:08Is that you give priority to certain things in your life.
- 51:12Because it's like yeah, has a no card.
- 51:15There is this that you did you become this, you become that.
- 51:19Doesn't matter as long as I know Allah and his messenger and my
- 51:23Imam. Ali Ahmad Salem are pleased with
- 51:25me. That's the most important and
- 51:27that's how we should live our lives.
- 51:29I run those one time a conversation.
- 51:30I had with Hudson here and he didn't want to because I think
- 51:36you left Speakers Corner then you started a YouTube channel.
- 51:38I'm alone, I don't know what phase it was here.
- 51:41Not sure what stage are. You were like, you know what,
- 51:44I'm trying to you know, do some self growth, I'm trying to do,
- 51:49I'm On my journey right now to understand a lot of what I can
- 51:52like, I'm paraphrasing, but searching the word for word and
- 51:54I was like, you know what, I don't know many people like us.
- 51:57Mm-hmm. Because we can become sheep and
- 51:59we can take anything as gospel and believe everything and it's
- 52:03a dangerous world out there. Yeah.
- 52:04And seeing house in here today, I want you to share maybe for
- 52:08myself. Maybe I meant of anyone out
- 52:10there, listening, how can one truly self-learn?
- 52:14Get closer to Allah more importantly on the path of truth
- 52:18because this is dangerous. Swamp is a danger up.
- 52:22You know just as a side note honestly in this journey of
- 52:26seeking knowledge and being involved in that where religion
- 52:29I must say, this is not just tough, you me the weirdest
- 52:34people and you encounter with crazy crazy people, honestly.
- 52:38Hmm, But the Journey of self-discovery and seeking
- 52:44knowledge, it truly begins in the heart But heart is only one
- 52:53doctor for that heart. A lot of paranoia Tad and there
- 52:57are only a few surgeons that know how to talk to the heart.
- 53:01Muhammad Ali Mohammed. And once you start to be in line
- 53:08with the Quran and Sunnah, by the way, just for those because
- 53:12we're used to like when I say I mentioned quite a lot on my
- 53:15social media, I get messages we work so meal plan has on that.
- 53:19Yeah, we know you just that like you know how many I had eat, we
- 53:25have where the Imam mentions put on and soon, it will not saying
- 53:28that they're sort of like I didn't leave in Israel where he
- 53:30said, any Target vehicle mythical a table at rattle bait.
- 53:33We're not saying that because you know, so nice.
- 53:35No score on and said, no, but Quran and Sunnah is the balance
- 53:39in our team. That's where we take our Sharia,
- 53:42our ethics, morality Dean, akka, and philosophy, everything.
- 53:47The Journey Begins I think with the heart, heart requires
- 53:53sincerity. Hmm no matter what happened to
- 53:56my heart, what? No matter what happened in my
- 53:59heart, and my life. I just continue pushing in this
- 54:04world, you have to Have a purpose.
- 54:09A reason to why you exist? What is your /?
- 54:12You can't wake up and have no reason to why you exist.
- 54:16How you fulfilling that purpose? I went through a lot in my life.
- 54:22I went through so many changes. Like you might know, maybe I'm a
- 54:26dozen I I came from the streets. I came from the sheet, like we
- 54:32used to be on the streets. I've seen killing stabbings
- 54:35shootings, everything I pushed forward in my life, I got to a
- 54:39point where I saw someone getting.
- 54:42Think it was either stabbed beaten up and it was that
- 54:45turning point in my heart. And I looked at him and I said,
- 54:48and I stopped my old friends have liked, stop it, leave him.
- 54:52It was like, I am not willing to die nor kill for this for this
- 54:57cause And I used to go home every night.
- 55:02My mom. I'll see my mom, praying Salat
- 55:04Elaine and I was crying. Cause some umbrella, mama was a
- 55:08white crying. So I don't know.
- 55:11But what kept me going in this journey is the heart and being
- 55:15sincere, there was another thing.
- 55:18No matter what, sins are committed.
- 55:20I've never missed a prayer in my life.
- 55:23Like I mean, I would come from the worst places you can think
- 55:26of I'll come home and pray. That extent, no matter what
- 55:32happened, I continue pushing, I mean, I barely three.
- 55:36Kids, three children are very free kids.
- 55:39I had a boy and then I had twins even that it never broke me, I
- 55:44had to push forward. Yeah.
- 55:45But these kind of things. Do they come in Peaks and
- 55:47troughs? Like you go through?
- 55:49These is these Jihad so you come out stronger.
- 55:54You know, speaking to a friend yesterday, he always he told me
- 55:58as a son, which stuck with me was a bit.
- 56:00Slightly out of context. But he said, he said, I always
- 56:03think about the parallel version of me alternative version of me
- 56:07in another life where I would have been doing this.
- 56:09This and this hat on. And I was a shocker for I've got
- 56:12to and where I know I need to improve.
- 56:15I'm conscious of that now and I work towards it.
- 56:17We're in that generation between 25 and 35.
- 56:20We're getting married, we've got young kids handed La.
- 56:23We're trying to put bread on the table and more than that.
- 56:27We're trying to stain our family provide and protect.
- 56:29We talked about this before. The Podcast, bro.
- 56:31But we're in that phase of life where we're going to have to
- 56:34like pasta is this? Yeah.
- 56:36Well we're gonna have to ask. We're gonna have to make ends
- 56:39meet and this is the balance bro.
- 56:40Like we have we're going to this is going to be our struggle.
- 56:44We're going to be asked. What do you do if your family
- 56:45like that? Knowledge will come bro.
- 56:47That that the skill that you have to consume the knowledge at
- 56:52a faster rate than you'll do six hours worth of learning in three
- 56:55hours in years to come and shot a lot, of course, and that
- 56:57you'll catch up on that. So I don't think it should be
- 56:59hard on yourself, honestly. You've come a long way.
- 57:01It is. Sorry, brother.
- 57:02Say if you said when you're 20 you thought stable Hardy was a
- 57:04shower book and now you're 31 but while I don't have no idea
- 57:08how you did all that in 11 years.
- 57:11If I was you know I there was a especially when covid here we're
- 57:16at home, right? Honestly, there was days I would
- 57:20read. Probably I'll be in the library
- 57:21for about 11 hours. This is whole Blackberry back
- 57:25from the morning are homeless. On the morning tonight.
- 57:31The only time I wasn't reading socialites a lot, like I would
- 57:34even forget to eat, you know, imagine me forgetting T, right?
- 57:37I forgot to eat but its to that extent.
- 57:43The human, I see like this. What is, what are you really
- 57:49worth? If every day you don't develop
- 57:53what what what what 100-plus life is it, you don't develop,
- 57:59you don't grow, you don't, develop you don't change any for
- 58:02the better, we have to wake up. And and reassess what we're
- 58:06doing in life is very true and I will come to an end and the
- 58:11start, there is one thing Think I want you to share as I, you
- 58:15have a project going on. Yeah.
- 58:17And it's called purify truth, the purified rupiah.
- 58:20And you talk about it. Yeah.
- 58:23So we, what we did was I visited.
- 58:28So obviously for those that know, my journey more person I
- 58:31was with a different organization.
- 58:35Problems happened, I start disagreeing.
- 58:37And so on I left was a very difficult time in my life
- 58:40because that's all I knew. I entered this like World of
- 58:44seeking knowledge and so on through you know, this
- 58:48organization and so on As I left them, as I left them.
- 58:55I, you know, I still felt like there needs to be something
- 58:58there. So, I went to Saudi Arabia, in
- 59:032018, I think it was. I said, I went to South.
- 59:06Yeah. Oh man.
- 59:07I've got stuff another story. Like he's someone.
- 59:18I look up to and learn from. And yeah, he kind of motivated
- 59:23me the actual name. It was a name that I had from
- 59:29years ago. That was like my Twitter name
- 59:30from years ago, it was actually a sister that converted to.
- 59:35She has. Mm it was like oh why don't you
- 59:38do change your name to like the purified?
- 59:39Truth was, and yeah, and they started from there and we've
- 59:46been like, we translated a mocktail.
- 59:50Imam sajjad of what happened in, karbala no one knew about it.
- 59:53I don't know. Yeah yeah so we is no one.
- 59:56Even the rates on the pulpit it's found in a book called a
- 59:59tamale. We translate it now as well
- 1:00:02brother could feel and Muhammad translated it for for us.
- 1:00:08But yeah, it's found in that book and we translated it out.
- 1:00:14The got someone to recite it model a shit.
- 1:00:17He recited it. And And we got it sent out in
- 1:00:21PDF. Now we published it and I'm
- 1:00:24personally working on different projects on translating a one of
- 1:00:27our classical Works. Can't say the name to our
- 1:00:30release it Cliffhanger. Huh it's a cliffhanger.
- 1:00:32Yeah. So yeah and we just continue
- 1:00:36pushing from there translating. I decided to only work with
- 1:00:41specific Scholars. Because they are Scholars that I
- 1:00:45trust their knowledge. I know what they're saying now
- 1:00:48that you know, they the best of their ability.
- 1:00:52They continue with that standard that they have with, you know,
- 1:00:56academic integrity and so on. I work with Chef Ahmed, Salman
- 1:01:01said I will Hassan Sheikh, Mohammed rubbish, AR-15 and then
- 1:01:06obviously, I'll do some videos in there as well, but like I
- 1:01:09said, it's been so busy. I haven't been able to upload a
- 1:01:11lot of like, if you more Shahla Berlin, I'll always protect you.
- 1:01:16Continue to guide all of us inshaallah and forgive us as
- 1:01:20well for for anything we've done.
- 1:01:22Not just in in the podcast and for the viewers to forgive us as
- 1:01:26well and shall love anything. We said to offend anyone also,
- 1:01:30of course, for all of our pasts and all of our if slip-ups,
- 1:01:34which are bound to happen, right in the future, for all of us,
- 1:01:38but thank you, bro. I think you've really taken
- 1:01:40after marketed to kind of nude. Dimension and the sense like we
