- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with IR Radio. Hello, guys, welcome to episode two of
- 0:09Speaker 1: the Almost Famous Podcast. This week we are joined by
- 0:14Speaker 1: the one and only Chris Bukowski, the man with the
- 0:18Speaker 1: most Bachelor Nations appearance Bachelor Nation appearances of all time? Chris,
- 0:23Speaker 1: does that still hold? It still holds? Um? Hopefully it
- 0:27Speaker 1: holds forever. Otherwise they're going to force me to go
- 0:29Speaker 1: back on that thing. And you should in that case,
- 0:33Speaker 1: just to like come say something and then leave and
- 0:38Speaker 1: then leave exactly. All right, Well, what are you up
- 0:43Speaker 1: to these days? You're quite the entrepreneur, you know. I
- 0:46Speaker 1: I know you for your restaurant development. What's up right now? Yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 1: same stuff. The restaurants are coming back, you know since
- 0:52Speaker 1: the COVID restrictions have eased a little bit. Um. It
- 0:55Speaker 1: was definitely a tough go for the past year and
- 0:58Speaker 1: a half. But done. He's my new home. I actually
- 1:01Speaker 1: bought a house out in Denver and March, so I'm
- 1:03Speaker 1: living out there about seventy five of the time, then
- 1:06Speaker 1: spending a lot of time in Chicago as well. Okay,
- 1:09Speaker 1: so the last time we saw you on the show,
- 1:10Speaker 1: you're engaged to Katie Morton. We've talked to you caught
- 1:13Speaker 1: up since Is there any other special lady in your
- 1:17Speaker 1: life now that we're going on, like over years since
- 1:19Speaker 1: your breakup with Katie? No, just kind of staying busy. Um,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you're not forcing anything. I know you you know, well,
- 1:27Speaker 1: man be thirty five next month, so obviously feel the
- 1:29Speaker 1: pressure of, you know, finding someone. But at this point, I'm,
- 1:32Speaker 1: you know, happy with who I am, what I'm doing,
- 1:35Speaker 1: So I'm not going to force anything at this point
- 1:37Speaker 1: to see what happens. I feel like, Okay, So I'm
- 1:39Speaker 1: thirty three, you're thirty four. Joe the grocery store, you know,
- 1:44Speaker 1: grocery store Joe, he's um, he's storty five, and we
- 1:47Speaker 1: have Kenny, he's forty. I feel like paradise around like
- 1:51Speaker 1: your mid thirties or in Kenny's case, forty. He's a
- 1:56Speaker 1: whole different thing. You just cannot possibly have as much
- 1:59Speaker 1: tall rance for it as you did beforehand. Could you
- 2:02Speaker 1: imagine yourself in paradise at this age? No, I barely
- 2:05Speaker 1: survived last time I was on there. I swear barely
- 2:08Speaker 1: survived getting out of that place alive. So yeah, I
- 2:12Speaker 1: couldn't imagine being forty because that's you know, six more
- 2:15Speaker 1: years from now, and that just seems like, I mean,
- 2:17Speaker 1: it's like Survivor to me. When I'm out there, it's
- 2:20Speaker 1: basically being on Survivor. It's it's it's a battle, I
- 2:23Speaker 1: would agree. And just watching the heat, like now these
- 2:27Speaker 1: people just sweating and dripping and not getting any relief
- 2:29Speaker 1: from it. I feel like that's something you could tolerate
- 2:32Speaker 1: more as a younger person. I know I'm still young
- 2:35Speaker 1: at thirty three, but like just the comforts of uh,
- 2:40Speaker 1: you know, first world life that you don't always get
- 2:42Speaker 1: there absolutely. I mean, you know, you're sleeping outside bunk beds.
- 2:46Speaker 1: You would think the ocean water is peaceful, but it's
- 2:49Speaker 1: too loud. You know, there's no clocks. I mean, it's
- 2:52Speaker 1: it's I mean, it's literally hell on Earth. And then
- 2:56Speaker 1: you're trying to form relationships while you're doing it, so
- 2:58Speaker 1: it's uh yeah, definitely glamorous. That's so funny that you
- 3:01Speaker 1: mentioned the no clocks thing, because that's something we don't
- 3:05Speaker 1: think about and just like a little Tibet for all
- 3:07Speaker 1: you guys out there, we basically have to tell time
- 3:09Speaker 1: based on the placement of the sun. I compared it
- 3:13Speaker 1: to being in the Las Vegas casino without all the
- 3:15Speaker 1: fun things, right, you know, it's just you just have
- 3:19Speaker 1: no sense of time, and that's like the goal, right,
- 3:21Speaker 1: so you spend more money there. It's just like all right,
- 3:24Speaker 1: no sense of time, so you just are mentally a
- 3:26Speaker 1: wreck the whole time, you know. I think that's what
- 3:28Speaker 1: it is. It's like we just don't have like a
- 3:30Speaker 1: finale to our day or like what is it. It's
- 3:34Speaker 1: because it's so that we live in this like totally
- 3:37Speaker 1: other world, detached from everything. I don't know if I'm
- 3:42Speaker 1: looking forward to going to sleep or if I'm looking
- 3:44Speaker 1: forward to waking up in the morning, because it's basically
- 3:46Speaker 1: someone tells you when to go to sleep and went
- 3:48Speaker 1: to wake up in the morning. So it's, uh, it's
- 3:50Speaker 1: like being at like a really bad summer camp. Did
- 3:55Speaker 1: I was thinking, like, it actually is good for us
- 3:58Speaker 1: to not know the time when it is for or
- 4:00Speaker 1: thirty am during a rose ceremony. That's because that just
- 4:06Speaker 1: like really brings you down. And I was looking at
- 4:08Speaker 1: those girls suffering in last night's rose ceremony. They were
- 4:12Speaker 1: so hot, so sweaty, the makeup is totally melted off,
- 4:15Speaker 1: the hair is totally done. So and it's like my
- 4:18Speaker 1: mom and my mom's friend are like making comments about
- 4:20Speaker 1: like how like the girls look rough, and I'm like, you, guys,
- 4:23Speaker 1: it's four thirty in the morning. They've been up for
- 4:25Speaker 1: hours just sweating. Um, And I think that our theory
- 4:30Speaker 1: been in. My theory is that the host of the show,
- 4:34Speaker 1: like the guest host, isn't doing the rose ceremonies because
- 4:37Speaker 1: like they just can't put in their contracts that they're
- 4:39Speaker 1: gonna do it at four thirty in the sweltering heat.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And then they're just like, well, so you can have
- 4:44Speaker 1: this job because well the professional like he can, he's
- 4:47Speaker 1: done it before, so you can actually get to that
- 4:49Speaker 1: time of the day, you know. But that makes complete sense.
- 4:53Speaker 1: And before we get into this week's recap or this
- 4:56Speaker 1: episode Tuesday's episode's recap, Um, you also are you're an
- 5:01Speaker 1: advisor for a dating app named catch, So can you
- 5:05Speaker 1: tell us about that and what qualifies you Chris Bakowski. Yeah, well,
- 5:09Speaker 1: so it's the Catches shoot that was from a while ago.
- 5:11Speaker 1: It actually got acquired, Um, just my friends started it
- 5:15Speaker 1: and it was pretty successful and obviously I should be
- 5:17Speaker 1: a professional dater by these times. Obviously not a successful
- 5:21Speaker 1: dater because I'm still single. Um, but yeah, I mean
- 5:24Speaker 1: I have my hand just a few different startups and stuff,
- 5:27Speaker 1: but that one was definitely special, definitely kind of had
- 5:30Speaker 1: a little actually bachelor concept to it. So I think
- 5:32Speaker 1: that's why it made sense to tie me in on it.
- 5:35Speaker 1: And was there a time of recent that you were
- 5:37Speaker 1: dating a fellow bachelor, a lum name Katrina, which I
- 5:42Speaker 1: mean Bukowski and Bodowski. Come on, guys, I know it
- 5:46Speaker 1: makes too much sense. No, Katrina is a good friend
- 5:48Speaker 1: of mine. Yeah, we dated. I guess you call it
- 5:50Speaker 1: dating for a little bit, but she's more of like
- 5:52Speaker 1: reach other's dates for weddings, you know, if she's in
- 5:55Speaker 1: Colorado or if she has a wedding in Illinois. So
- 5:58Speaker 1: we have a lot of mutual friends as well, and
- 6:00Speaker 1: just kind of a good time together. All right, Well, Chris,
- 6:02Speaker 1: we're gonna say a quick break and then we're gonna
- 6:03Speaker 1: jump into the episode hosted by my friend Lance Bass,
- 6:07Speaker 1: which I was very excited about. Well we're back, alright, guys,
- 6:20Speaker 1: we are back with Chris Bukowski. Chris, how do you
- 6:23Speaker 1: think that Lance handled hosting this episode? I thought he
- 6:26Speaker 1: was fantastic because he came in with this the sense
- 6:30Speaker 1: of being a Bachelor fan. He said in one of
- 6:33Speaker 1: the hot topics that we were discussing yesterday that he
- 6:36Speaker 1: was a little like Bachelor fanboy star struck at first
- 6:40Speaker 1: just seeing the location, like being down in ply at
- 6:42Speaker 1: Escondida and seeing some of his favorite cast members, especially
- 6:47Speaker 1: Joe and Uh. I just thought that he was so
- 6:50Speaker 1: sweet with the entrance, Like I mean, I am, you know,
- 6:53Speaker 1: biggest instinct fan of all time, and like when people
- 6:56Speaker 1: say that it's like no guys, like my room was
- 6:58Speaker 1: so crazy that my mom got the picture of my
- 7:01Speaker 1: room and like me and it in multiple teeny bopper
- 7:04Speaker 1: magazines like this is this is a real real thing.
- 7:08Speaker 1: So the way that they entranced him with the boom
- 7:11Speaker 1: box and when he came out and he was like
- 7:13Speaker 1: your host this week, it's gonna be me, I was like,
- 7:15Speaker 1: oh my god, I would lose my mind. And I
- 7:18Speaker 1: was looking at some of these girls and I'm like,
- 7:20Speaker 1: you guys are too young to appreciate this. Oh. I
- 7:23Speaker 1: would have been dancing my ass off when that music
- 7:26Speaker 1: went out because I love in sync and I know
- 7:28Speaker 1: how much you'd like I remember, like you posting pictures
- 7:31Speaker 1: of your bedroom like on Instagram and stuff, and it's
- 7:33Speaker 1: all just boy band stuff. But I mean I loved
- 7:36Speaker 1: him personally, and I grew up with two older sisters
- 7:38Speaker 1: who two other sisters who also loved them the same.
- 7:41Speaker 1: He was like a boy band lover, even though it
- 7:43Speaker 1: wasn't cool to be when he was at it. I mean,
- 7:46Speaker 1: I would have been all in landspass would have been.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I would have been really excited to see him there. Okay,
- 7:53Speaker 1: so let's see what happens. Starting off in this episode,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you know, we were coming out of the row ceremony,
- 7:59Speaker 1: Lance shows up. I guess the first big thing is
- 8:02Speaker 1: that Thomas walks in, and Thomas is very much hated
- 8:08Speaker 1: by the guys of Katie season, and there are a
- 8:09Speaker 1: lot of guys who had to be with him on
- 8:11Speaker 1: Katie season right there when he walks in, and the
- 8:14Speaker 1: guys are kind of warning the girls, but the girls
- 8:16Speaker 1: at first don't seem to care. They're like, this guy
- 8:19Speaker 1: is he's a stud, he's super tall, Um, we don't
- 8:24Speaker 1: care what he's saying. We'd say yes to a date
- 8:26Speaker 1: with him. And then Joe has a pretty good sense
- 8:30Speaker 1: that he's going to be into Serena, and he was right.
- 8:32Speaker 1: He asked Serena on the date they go on the date, Um,
- 8:36Speaker 1: on the date, did you find how did you find
- 8:40Speaker 1: Thomas to be like? Because he was very open about
- 8:44Speaker 1: the drama that went on during Katie season. Yeah, I
- 8:47Speaker 1: feel I feel like that's kind of him his role.
- 8:50Speaker 1: He I think he kind of eats up the drama
- 8:52Speaker 1: and kind of likes it, right, Um, and kind of
- 8:54Speaker 1: just kind of placed there for that specific reason. I
- 8:57Speaker 1: think we see it every season, right, there's an early
- 8:59Speaker 1: relationship being forms. All Right, here comes a guy who's
- 9:01Speaker 1: gonna try to, you know, put a spin into that.
- 9:04Speaker 1: And obviously that's kind of what he did and what
- 9:07Speaker 1: he was there for. Basically, the wonderful and glorious Ben
- 9:10Speaker 1: Higgins just entered the room. He was he had a
- 9:14Speaker 1: business meeting he had to take care of. But Ben,
- 9:16Speaker 1: we're talking about this week's episode talking about Serena and
- 9:20Speaker 1: Thomas in their date and it seemed to be going well, right,
- 9:24Speaker 1: I mean I could see her being a little turned off.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Um when he made mention of Trey and Trey being
- 9:31Speaker 1: maybe like a little bit emotionally weak. That is a
- 9:35Speaker 1: really weird thing to say about somebody that somebody is
- 9:38Speaker 1: now friends with on a first date with them, but
- 9:41Speaker 1: overall like they were kissing, she was kept talking about
- 9:44Speaker 1: how attracted she was. She even said, like, I had
- 9:46Speaker 1: so much fun on this date. I'm thinking she's gonna
- 9:49Speaker 1: go back and it's gonna be deja vu for Joe.
- 9:53Speaker 1: She's gonna be torn, she's gonna need the time to
- 9:55Speaker 1: figure out who she wants to be with. But then
- 9:57Speaker 1: walked down the stairs and Serena just like Joe, I
- 10:02Speaker 1: just want to be with you. I told him I
- 10:03Speaker 1: didn't want to pursue a relationship with him, and it
- 10:06Speaker 1: was so nice and it was a surprise, but I
- 10:07Speaker 1: also at the same time I wanted to see her
- 10:09Speaker 1: say that to Thomas. Yeah, I think it's just like that.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You know, you had a little test of, oh, maybe
- 10:15Speaker 1: there's someone else I'd be interested in, and then you
- 10:17Speaker 1: will walk back and you're like, you're totally not. You
- 10:19Speaker 1: just want to be with that original person that you're
- 10:21Speaker 1: kind of formed that early relationship with. And I think
- 10:23Speaker 1: there's a benefit of that actually happening earlier to you.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Then later on, um, you know, with Joe and Serena,
- 10:30Speaker 1: and then Serena being asked being asked out a date
- 10:33Speaker 1: earlier on rather than later on, because I feel like, um,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I don't know. If it didn't work out, then you
- 10:39Speaker 1: can kind of either pursue someone else or just get
- 10:42Speaker 1: off of that island. You know, Ben, what were you
- 10:44Speaker 1: thinking about all the drama when Thomas entered. You know,
- 10:47Speaker 1: it's hard because I guess we now have the benefit
- 10:51Speaker 1: of knowing how the whole story plays out. I was
- 10:54Speaker 1: kind of on Thomas's team when he first came down,
- 10:57Speaker 1: and everybody was like bombarding him with like do you
- 10:59Speaker 1: remember who you are? And He's like yes, but I'm
- 11:01Speaker 1: trying to change and trying to be different, trying to
- 11:04Speaker 1: get better. Uh and and and I was like, okay,
- 11:07Speaker 1: well let's let's deal with that. Like, hey, this is
- 11:09Speaker 1: a chance for that. That's what Paradise is, you know,
- 11:11Speaker 1: it's a redemption time. It's a time to for people
- 11:14Speaker 1: to get to know, you know, in a different light.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And as we said, you know yesterday and the podcast
- 11:18Speaker 1: that happens every season where somebody that's the villain comes
- 11:21Speaker 1: on the Paradise and they they are are ideas of
- 11:25Speaker 1: them change a bit. Well, now, as I said, now
- 11:28Speaker 1: we have the light of the end of the show
- 11:29Speaker 1: where I'm like, Thomas, come on, man, like you had
- 11:33Speaker 1: this sitting in front of this opportunity sitting in front
- 11:35Speaker 1: of you to be that new person, to be that
- 11:37Speaker 1: person that just wanted to be there to pursue somebody
- 11:40Speaker 1: on the beach, and then you have to go on
- 11:41Speaker 1: and talk about these dudes behind the back. Now, did
- 11:43Speaker 1: he know how much that was gonna go back and
- 11:46Speaker 1: like hurt the others? No, I don't think so. I
- 11:49Speaker 1: think he was probably just like loose lipped, which is
- 11:51Speaker 1: probably a thing that he has to work on. He
- 11:53Speaker 1: probably wasn't very wise and what he was saying and
- 11:55Speaker 1: how he was saying it, And so of course Trey
- 11:57Speaker 1: is gonna be hurt. He was already hurt before. Now
- 11:59Speaker 1: you give him a little it of you know, light,
- 12:01Speaker 1: and you know, Thomas comes in and shuts that door
- 12:04Speaker 1: and says, no, I'm gonna keep talking about yet, and
- 12:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna, you know, I'm gonna talk about how you're
- 12:09Speaker 1: emotionally weak. And like I think Serena, I think said
- 12:12Speaker 1: it in the best way where she's like it felt
- 12:14Speaker 1: like Thomas was talking about Tray like Thomas was Thomas
- 12:16Speaker 1: was Tray's dad, which is just never a good place
- 12:19Speaker 1: to speak from about anybody from is like, hey, I
- 12:23Speaker 1: know more, they know less, So I'm gonna teach them
- 12:27Speaker 1: how they can be better. Like that's not ever gonna work.
- 12:31Speaker 1: And so I think that's where like it frustrated me.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I get why people like Thomas. I get why. You know,
- 12:36Speaker 1: he's a big dude. It shows him in the beach
- 12:38Speaker 1: and everybody like infatuated with him. Um, I wanna I
- 12:42Speaker 1: want to know from you too, though, something really interesting
- 12:45Speaker 1: that Joe said, And both of you have been in
- 12:47Speaker 1: this environment before where you know, somebody that you're pursuing,
- 12:52Speaker 1: somebody that you're into, does go on a date with
- 12:54Speaker 1: somebody else? You what you watch that happen? Uh? And
- 12:57Speaker 1: everybody acts like, hey, this is just part of the experience,
- 12:59Speaker 1: and I know it is to some level, but like,
- 13:02Speaker 1: what does that feel like? Can you guys give us
- 13:04Speaker 1: a little bit of an idea of like in the heart,
- 13:07Speaker 1: like how that just feels Not only does it rip
- 13:09Speaker 1: away your confidence or at least would rip away at
- 13:11Speaker 1: my confidence, it would also make me question everything. And
- 13:15Speaker 1: and here's the part that maybe you guys can yell
- 13:17Speaker 1: at me for and say you're wrong, Ben, you could
- 13:18Speaker 1: be better than this. It would be really hard for
- 13:21Speaker 1: me because of having experiences in the past with being
- 13:25Speaker 1: cheated on, with letting that person back in. Well, it's
- 13:31Speaker 1: the worst feeling in the entire world besides like morning.
- 13:37Speaker 1: To me, that was the worst feeling in the entire
- 13:38Speaker 1: world to have to witness it in first person. Um,
- 13:45Speaker 1: I don't know about the cheating thing, but and I
- 13:50Speaker 1: don't mean to say compare it to cheating, so it's
- 13:52Speaker 1: not comparable to cheating. But I'm just my my sensitivity
- 13:56Speaker 1: to that is like, you know, in my mind as
- 13:58Speaker 1: I'm watching this happen with Joe and Syreen and I
- 14:00Speaker 1: don't think she's anything wrong. Um, but what if I'm
- 14:03Speaker 1: sitting with if I'm Joe sitting on the couch, I
- 14:06Speaker 1: was trying to put myself in issues and what I
- 14:07Speaker 1: would what I would probably be doing saying like hey,
- 14:09Speaker 1: you're still great and like I know we probably could
- 14:12Speaker 1: have something, but like I've closed this this in my heart,
- 14:15Speaker 1: like I can't I can't go, I can't see this
- 14:18Speaker 1: again or it takes some work. Like that's where I
- 14:20Speaker 1: would be sitting. It's not saying hey, that's like cheating.
- 14:22Speaker 1: It's not comparable that, but it's like I just know
- 14:25Speaker 1: how fast I say no, I'm sorry, it's done really okay.
- 14:28Speaker 1: So for my experience there, all I did was hope
- 14:31Speaker 1: and pray that he was going to come back and
- 14:34Speaker 1: be like, no, I had fine time, but I want
- 14:38Speaker 1: to be with you. Like I think the entire day
- 14:40Speaker 1: is just like spent trying to have a positive outlook,
- 14:44Speaker 1: which we see Joe and Connor do in this situation.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And I just love Joe's real nous. Holy moly, I
- 14:51Speaker 1: just like pray to the Joe gods. When he says
- 14:55Speaker 1: things like, um, I hope you have a bad time,
- 15:00Speaker 1: like thank you for your realness. Connor is like I
- 15:03Speaker 1: just hope she has fun. It's like, no, you don't.
- 15:06Speaker 1: And then like Joe says fun things like oh leo,
- 15:10Speaker 1: yeah I can hate that guy, and I still can
- 15:12Speaker 1: hate that guy. I'm like yes, Joe. And then when
- 15:15Speaker 1: she comes back and they're sitting on the bed and
- 15:18Speaker 1: he's like, yeah, I figured you could get back to me. Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I figured I was a better kisser than him. I
- 15:23Speaker 1: just love it so much. Chris, how does this make
- 15:26Speaker 1: you feel? Can you explain it? Then? Yeah, I mean
- 15:29Speaker 1: for me, and I was just thinking, all you guys
- 15:31Speaker 1: are talking, I actually never have had that experience on Paradise.
- 15:34Speaker 1: As many times I've been on it, no one that
- 15:36Speaker 1: I was with actually left and went on a different
- 15:39Speaker 1: date with someone else. Um, so I never got to
- 15:42Speaker 1: experience you I got to you know, I was actually
- 15:45Speaker 1: on the other side where I went on the date
- 15:48Speaker 1: and left who I was with behind. And yeah, I
- 15:51Speaker 1: could only imagine, you know, because with with last season Paradise,
- 15:55Speaker 1: when I was on I went on a date with
- 15:57Speaker 1: Jen Saviano when I was pretty far along, you know,
- 15:59Speaker 1: with with Katie, and the whole time, honestly, I was
- 16:02Speaker 1: kind of like thinking of how she would feel right
- 16:04Speaker 1: sitting on the beach while we're out, you know, having
- 16:07Speaker 1: this this date where I was actually throwing up the
- 16:09Speaker 1: whole time. So it wasn't that great. Um, But yeah,
- 16:13Speaker 1: you think about that person, right, especially if you care
- 16:15Speaker 1: about them, So you know, I kind of wouldn't put
- 16:17Speaker 1: myself in the other person's shoes to see, you know,
- 16:20Speaker 1: how they would feel and then how you can interact
- 16:22Speaker 1: with that person when you get back, right, And I
- 16:24Speaker 1: think for me, it was just more of a reassurance
- 16:26Speaker 1: thing that I was actually with the right person, you know,
- 16:29Speaker 1: at that time. I can't imagine it. I don't think
- 16:33Speaker 1: i'd like it. I don't think i'd be good at it.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I think I would really like mess with the with
- 16:37Speaker 1: my my soul or my romantic soul. I think it
- 16:41Speaker 1: would close me up. I think I would be the
- 16:42Speaker 1: guy at the bar with well as the whole time
- 16:44Speaker 1: just being like just talk to me, like just hold me,
- 16:48Speaker 1: let me drink, let me sit here, and let me
- 16:50Speaker 1: just like yeah, just like give me a hug, buddy.
- 16:54Speaker 1: And as much as you want them to come back,
- 16:56Speaker 1: you're also dreading the moment that they come back, because
- 17:00Speaker 1: that's like the moment of truth. How supportive his like traditionally,
- 17:06Speaker 1: how supportive are the other people on the beach? I mean,
- 17:09Speaker 1: we saw a little bit of it this episode, and
- 17:11Speaker 1: it felt like people had some good like social awareness,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and they were like, Okay, this has to hurt for Connor.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Let's go talk to Connor. Oh, Joe wants his space,
- 17:19Speaker 1: but this has to suck for Joe. And they weren't
- 17:21Speaker 1: like bashing the people for going on dates that ever
- 17:24Speaker 1: was happening and nor should it, But they were like
- 17:26Speaker 1: very aware and like very family ask and how they
- 17:29Speaker 1: were dealing with a person hurting. We've seen that so
- 17:32Speaker 1: far this season. Do is that something that happens every
- 17:34Speaker 1: season or is this kind of new and unique for
- 17:36Speaker 1: this cast? I think I think it's generally their support
- 17:42Speaker 1: when that person is, you know, on the beach waiting
- 17:44Speaker 1: for you know, the person are with to come back.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I think that's just kind of nature hopefully, like people
- 17:50Speaker 1: are kind of better that way of kind of supporting
- 17:53Speaker 1: people in that situation rather than be like, oh, I'm
- 17:55Speaker 1: glad that you know that person went on the date
- 17:58Speaker 1: and you're suffering. But I feel like it's generally positive.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I agree. I mean, depending on how far along you
- 18:06Speaker 1: are in a relationship, people will take you seriously or
- 18:10Speaker 1: not as seriously. I don't know that I was taking
- 18:13Speaker 1: as seriously you were until you were. I was not
- 18:17Speaker 1: because they were like, actually, you're not in a relationship
- 18:19Speaker 1: with Jared, and I'm like, yeah, well I am a
- 18:21Speaker 1: head um Anyway, Okay, let's go to the Riley and
- 18:26Speaker 1: Marissa date because it's the total antithesis of the Serena
- 18:30Speaker 1: and Thomas date. Because watching it, you're like, Okay, Connor
- 18:37Speaker 1: at home, has no freaking chance. I agree. I watch that.
- 18:44Speaker 1: I mean, as soon as he comes down, right, I mean,
- 18:46Speaker 1: we've had Raley on the podcast, right. He was great.
- 18:49Speaker 1: He's got super kind, um, super like generous with his
- 18:54Speaker 1: time with us. He was a great interview. I just
- 18:55Speaker 1: remember being like that guy, he's got it going on.
- 18:58Speaker 1: So as soon as he walks down the beach, I'm like,
- 18:59Speaker 1: this this trouble um for for whoever he chooses, because
- 19:04Speaker 1: whoever is with somebody is going to be left behind.
- 19:07Speaker 1: And then they go on this date and Chris, it's
- 19:10Speaker 1: it's interesting as you're watching this too, is like their
- 19:13Speaker 1: chemistry felt pretty dynamic, it felt pretty tangible. Um, as
- 19:18Speaker 1: soon as they really opened up and started talking, Uh,
- 19:20Speaker 1: it felt like there was something there. But here's my question, Chris,
- 19:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna pass it off to you to kind of
- 19:25Speaker 1: explain what you felt about the relationship. I also want
- 19:27Speaker 1: you to answer this. Um. You Uh, you've had been
- 19:31Speaker 1: around food for a while. I've eaten tongue in my
- 19:34Speaker 1: life multiple times. I've eaten tongue. Why did they bite
- 19:37Speaker 1: from the back end of the tongue. That's not like
- 19:39Speaker 1: the end of the tongue. I've ever eaten from is
- 19:42Speaker 1: like instead of eating from the tongue, they ate from
- 19:44Speaker 1: like the tendons that connect the tongue in the back.
- 19:50Speaker 1: That was confusing to me. I've never done it that way, Chris,
- 19:53Speaker 1: You've been around food? Is that how you would eat tongue?
- 19:55Speaker 1: And then what did you think about their relationship? So
- 19:58Speaker 1: my thought on that was it's not as rough from
- 20:02Speaker 1: the back, you know, as as um chewy, I guess, yeah, yeah, um,
- 20:09Speaker 1: but yeah, I mean the relationship in general seemed Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I mean Riley's you know, he's a study, so it's
- 20:16Speaker 1: you know, obviously I felt for Connor too. And when
- 20:18Speaker 1: Riley came on and you're just that's just kind of
- 20:19Speaker 1: the guy you don't want to see walk down those
- 20:21Speaker 1: stairs and you just feel immediately threatened, you know. Um.
- 20:25Speaker 1: So yeah, I thought the date was was going well
- 20:28Speaker 1: and stuff, and I fell for Connor. I think Connors,
- 20:31Speaker 1: I think he's a he's a good guy, right, Yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 1: It's kind of funny and dorky a little bit, but
- 20:37Speaker 1: uh yeah, you know, overall, I thought that date went
- 20:40Speaker 1: pretty well. You couldn't have two more opposite guys, though,
- 20:43Speaker 1: like not at all I agree, because like as soon
- 20:46Speaker 1: as they started talking about like the you know, their
- 20:48Speaker 1: date very quickly changed to be talking about sex, like
- 20:51Speaker 1: it went like how many people have you kissed? Or whatever?
- 20:54Speaker 1: And then I was like, okay, let's talk about sex um.
- 20:57Speaker 1: And as soon as that started to happen, and you
- 20:59Speaker 1: saw the like the light in both of their eyes
- 21:02Speaker 1: and the way they were like flirting with each other,
- 21:04Speaker 1: and then Lane's bass even said like, hey, they started
- 21:06Speaker 1: making out and I didn't know what to do because
- 21:07Speaker 1: they didn't really feel like they wanted to stop, and
- 21:08Speaker 1: I was just kind of standing there and I didn't
- 21:10Speaker 1: know to watch them or like leave the room or
- 21:12Speaker 1: which is a great moment as a host because like
- 21:14Speaker 1: you knew, you know, he he just literally probably like
- 21:17Speaker 1: had quarantine, showed up to the beach that day and
- 21:20Speaker 1: then that night gets thrown into his first hosting gig
- 21:22Speaker 1: and it's like I don't, I don't, I don't know
- 21:25Speaker 1: what to do here, Like what do I can't like
- 21:27Speaker 1: do I take on my phone and videotape? Who knows? Anyways,
- 21:30Speaker 1: And as soon as that happened, you could just tell
- 21:33Speaker 1: like you can't picture Connor having that kind of conversation
- 21:37Speaker 1: really like at that depth and at that like kind
- 21:39Speaker 1: of chemistry with her. It just felt like they those
- 21:42Speaker 1: two belonged in that moment and that nobody else mattered,
- 21:46Speaker 1: which means Connor at that point was kicked aside. Oh yeah,
- 21:50Speaker 1: there is like sexual chemistry there that I don't I
- 21:55Speaker 1: don't think that Connor like really omits that. And I
- 21:57Speaker 1: think that that was something that Marissa was probably looking
- 21:59Speaker 1: for him. And um and what I mean, of course,
- 22:04Speaker 1: like they Connor can have sexual chemistry with somebody. I'm
- 22:07Speaker 1: just saying that, like he doesn't admit sexuality in the
- 22:10Speaker 1: way that Riley does, and I think that that is
- 22:12Speaker 1: a quality that Marissa is looking for. Um, but guys,
- 22:16Speaker 1: oh my god, they went to the boom Boom room
- 22:18Speaker 1: on night one. I don't think we've ever seen that before.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I don't think so either, But that I feel like
- 22:25Speaker 1: that it's kind of telling for like those like just
- 22:28Speaker 1: that whole atmosphere, right, you're just kind of you're kind
- 22:31Speaker 1: of looking for that like that quick kind of spark
- 22:34Speaker 1: or that quick even if it's a sexual kind of spark,
- 22:37Speaker 1: just because you're just kind of looking for anything really, right,
- 22:40Speaker 1: And uh, I think Riley obviously gives off those vibes,
- 22:42Speaker 1: So it was kind of easy for that there I
- 22:44Speaker 1: guess happened, um, but no, I think that might be
- 22:47Speaker 1: the first time ever that that that has happened on
- 22:50Speaker 1: night one. I would say the date was set up
- 22:53Speaker 1: for that moment, like you started talking about that stuff
- 22:55Speaker 1: and both of the us started clicking. You're like, where
- 22:57Speaker 1: is this going to end? With like a nice high five?
- 22:59Speaker 1: And like both them go back to their like corners. No,
- 23:04Speaker 1: I know a place for us to go. Yeah, I
- 23:08Speaker 1: mean that's what I'm saying. It's like as soon as
- 23:09Speaker 1: that date started to be asked those questions and those
- 23:12Speaker 1: they started to respond to the questions and the way
- 23:14Speaker 1: that they did, like this the date doesn't end, and
- 23:16Speaker 1: then like going to hang out back on the beach,
- 23:19Speaker 1: like no matter what happens in the boom boom room.
- 23:21Speaker 1: And you guys tell me, is it always like intercourse
- 23:23Speaker 1: or is it also just like a good place to
- 23:25Speaker 1: like a comfy bed to hang out in. I think
- 23:27Speaker 1: it can be both. I've never been there, Chris, Well,
- 23:32Speaker 1: from my experiences, you know, after like the first time,
- 23:35Speaker 1: after you actually do fully hook up and then you're
- 23:39Speaker 1: after that, you're just like wow, the air conditioning was great,
- 23:42Speaker 1: you know, the beds are bigger, and then it's just
- 23:44Speaker 1: more of like all right, let's just go hang out there.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Maybe I was different, but yeah, I mean generally it
- 23:50Speaker 1: wasn't always hooking up. Um, it was more of like
- 23:53Speaker 1: being more comfortable. I guess, do you Is there multiple rooms? Yeah?
- 23:58Speaker 1: There was, I believe, but only one had air conditioning,
- 24:03Speaker 1: one designated one that they called Boom Boom room, and
- 24:06Speaker 1: then there's other places that you could like find too.
- 24:09Speaker 1: You know. However, there's no privacy still. It's not as
- 24:14Speaker 1: if you're going into some camera less room. As we see,
- 24:17Speaker 1: there's a camera there. Yeah, I mean it's right in
- 24:22Speaker 1: front the bed on the ceiling. I remember. So we're
- 24:26Speaker 1: talking about this now, but me and Katie were in there,
- 24:29Speaker 1: uh and she goes up to the camera and she's like,
- 24:32Speaker 1: welcome to porn Hub. How do you get like, how
- 24:39Speaker 1: do you get past that? I mean, this is like
- 24:42Speaker 1: there's not a lot of like people that would be
- 24:45Speaker 1: just like all right, let's let's like have this moment
- 24:48Speaker 1: together knowing that we're being watched. Like, how do you
- 24:50Speaker 1: not have that in the back of your head the
- 24:51Speaker 1: whole time? Yeah? I think just like in general, right
- 24:55Speaker 1: when we're the cameras are on you for the first
- 24:57Speaker 1: time in your life, you're just like you're kind of shy,
- 25:01Speaker 1: and then you just they're like, not even there. I
- 25:03Speaker 1: think it's the same kind of concept when you're here
- 25:05Speaker 1: in the boom boom room. Yeah, what about like the
- 25:08Speaker 1: control room, Like, let's pretend like we're in there. Do
- 25:10Speaker 1: you think that they're like, Okay, we won't watch right now,
- 25:13Speaker 1: we won't look at this one screen or do you
- 25:15Speaker 1: think that they're like, we're looking at the screen that's
- 25:18Speaker 1: when they start making the popcorn. Actually, that's yeah, they're
- 25:21Speaker 1: dial bit. That's weird to think about. I mean, I
- 25:24Speaker 1: don't know. I mean that feels that feels it feels
- 25:27Speaker 1: odd and like knowing a lot of the people that
- 25:30Speaker 1: do sit in the control room, I don't have a
- 25:32Speaker 1: I don't know if they would like get their jollies
- 25:36Speaker 1: having that going on. I wouldn't be surprised if that
- 25:38Speaker 1: overtime kind of turns off. But like, at the same time,
- 25:43Speaker 1: they probably have to watch it because you never know
- 25:45Speaker 1: what's going to happen, right, they got to see what
- 25:46Speaker 1: tape is being filmed, So I mean wild stuff that
- 25:50Speaker 1: would have to be considered. Um that I've never thought
- 25:53Speaker 1: about until you just brought it up. Anyways. Uh, let's
- 25:57Speaker 1: uh so that relationship seems to be flourishing. The Thomas
- 26:01Speaker 1: and Trade drama sparks up again at the end of
- 26:04Speaker 1: the episode, with the two of them kind of like
- 26:07Speaker 1: we said at the beginning, kind of saying, hey, we're
- 26:09Speaker 1: not gonna like I don't want to talk to anymore.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Now we've seen two different moments here of confrontation so
- 26:16Speaker 1: far this season. This is the second really like direct,
- 26:19Speaker 1: hey I don't like you kind of confrontation. What did
- 26:22Speaker 1: you think of it? Uh? You know, Trey kind of
- 26:24Speaker 1: went down, knew what you wanted to say, said Thomas,
- 26:27Speaker 1: this is over, Like I don't want to talk to
- 26:28Speaker 1: you again. Is that fair? Thomas obviously wanted to say
- 26:32Speaker 1: something he wasn't like really given the opportunity, but should
- 26:36Speaker 1: he have been like what do you guys think of that?
- 26:37Speaker 1: My take is that I was frustrated that he didn't
- 26:40Speaker 1: get to say his piece. Um, I'm just not the
- 26:43Speaker 1: kind of person that would like that, would like even
- 26:47Speaker 1: leave that conversation or argument feeling like okay with it,
- 26:51Speaker 1: left with somebody like begging to say something and then
- 26:53Speaker 1: just walking away from it. I'd probably be like too
- 26:56Speaker 1: curious and like, honestly at the why why not here?
- 27:00Speaker 1: Or him out? And then if you don't like what
- 27:01Speaker 1: he says, then just ignore him for the rest of
- 27:03Speaker 1: the time. I agree. I mean, I always want to
- 27:08Speaker 1: hear what someone else has to say, right, It's almost
- 27:10Speaker 1: it's almost like it's fair that way. But even if
- 27:12Speaker 1: it's not what you want to hear back, So yeah,
- 27:15Speaker 1: it ending like that was it was just weird. So
- 27:18Speaker 1: I wish he had a chance to say say what
- 27:20Speaker 1: you wanted to say. I would agree and just and
- 27:23Speaker 1: and also just like for us selfishly, it's like I
- 27:26Speaker 1: want to know what's gonna be. Are you gonna dig
- 27:29Speaker 1: yourself into a bigger hole? Are you going to get
- 27:31Speaker 1: out of this hole? Is this gonna end like just
- 27:33Speaker 1: like cordially or what. But I just wanted to see
- 27:37Speaker 1: what he had to say, because I do I think
- 27:38Speaker 1: he was. I think he got caught again doing something
- 27:42Speaker 1: that hurt Trey, and I think that was the worst
- 27:43Speaker 1: thing he could have done for the moment and for
- 27:45Speaker 1: right after his whole apology. Um, now, Chris, I know
- 27:51Speaker 1: we're we only have a couple of more minutes here
- 27:53Speaker 1: with you, and you get a big day in front
- 27:55Speaker 1: of you, and we want to thank you for your time.
- 27:57Speaker 1: There's a there's a headline this week that I want
- 27:59Speaker 1: to talk to you and Ashley about because it shook me. Um.
- 28:02Speaker 1: There's a headline from David Spade that says what surprised
- 28:05Speaker 1: him most about hosting this show is a few things.
- 28:08Speaker 1: The lemurs, the crabs, a bunch of pretty people in jaguars.
- 28:12Speaker 1: That's why I want to come into this. Have you
- 28:14Speaker 1: ever experienced heard because jaguars do are loud? A jaguar
- 28:18Speaker 1: in paradise. Actually, oh no, I never. I never heard
- 28:23Speaker 1: of wild cats. So we actually saw one on one
- 28:29Speaker 1: of our dates. Even better one was we had monkeys
- 28:35Speaker 1: that made a home in the top of the like
- 28:39Speaker 1: where the guy slept in like our little tepee. On
- 28:42Speaker 1: the third day that I was there, I was sleeping
- 28:45Speaker 1: on the top bunk and I swear I'm like there's
- 28:47Speaker 1: something above me. Like for the first two nights, I
- 28:49Speaker 1: was there two in the morning. I don't know what
- 28:52Speaker 1: time it was, it was, it was the morning, and
- 28:54Speaker 1: this monkey landed on my bed while we were while
- 28:57Speaker 1: we were all sleeping and and I freak out, fly
- 29:01Speaker 1: off the bed. John, Paul Jones and Cam they all
- 29:04Speaker 1: see this happening, and they, you know, they fly out
- 29:06Speaker 1: the you know, the room with me and um we
- 29:09Speaker 1: stopped on the beach at night, and they didn't want that,
- 29:12Speaker 1: so they had like security watching us, like as we
- 29:14Speaker 1: were sleeping on the beach because it was dangerous. But
- 29:17Speaker 1: by the end of Paradise, there was baby monkeys that
- 29:21Speaker 1: were born above the guy's a little hot there. Oh
- 29:26Speaker 1: my god, how big was the first monkey? I mean
- 29:30Speaker 1: it was I mean it was like it looked like
- 29:33Speaker 1: a friendly monkey, but it was like this big with
- 29:34Speaker 1: a long gass tail. Um. But yeah, they come in.
- 29:38Speaker 1: They would you would see them come in the room
- 29:39Speaker 1: and they would steal stuff, like they would take stuff
- 29:41Speaker 1: like out of the room. Um. And they they owned
- 29:44Speaker 1: my whole. Like. I couldn't sleep after that for the
- 29:46Speaker 1: rest of the time I was there because I was
- 29:48Speaker 1: gonna say, could you how did you go to bed
- 29:49Speaker 1: at night knowing there's a monkey? I couldn't. I had
- 29:52Speaker 1: had this. The staff came in, they like barbed wired
- 29:55Speaker 1: the whole up top of the of the roof and stuff.
- 29:57Speaker 1: But they still were like getting around it. Um, but yeah,
- 30:00Speaker 1: I just us. Any of those guys that were, you know,
- 30:02Speaker 1: sleeping at that hot they'll they'll talk about the monkeys.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Oh dude, but you saw the jaguars. So jaguars do
- 30:08Speaker 1: exist down there. Monkeys are So this is the stuff
- 30:12Speaker 1: we need to see. I'm telling you, this is the
- 30:14Speaker 1: stuff that intrigues me. This isn't just paradise. This is
- 30:16Speaker 1: like camp with camp with pretty people. Oh that's so wild. No,
- 30:24Speaker 1: the craziest animal experience we had there was I think
- 30:28Speaker 1: there may have been a I might be being dramatic
- 30:32Speaker 1: by saying it was a rattle snake, but there was
- 30:35Speaker 1: some snake in the rose ceremony Palapa, and like it
- 30:38Speaker 1: was it was like a thing for them to want
- 30:43Speaker 1: to get rid of it. So I feel like it
- 30:45Speaker 1: was kind of dangerous. I couldn't imagine being bitten by
- 30:48Speaker 1: a snake out there. I know one of the girls
- 30:49Speaker 1: had a snake in their suitcase. Um. On last season,
- 30:53Speaker 1: I would pick I would pick up and leave if that.
- 30:55Speaker 1: If there was a snake anywhere near me, I'd be
- 30:57Speaker 1: out there. Ben's like, why do you crazy people go there?
- 31:02Speaker 1: Oh this is insane, guys, Hey, I'm glad you sign
- 31:05Speaker 1: up for this. I'm glad. I'm glad people sign up
- 31:08Speaker 1: to watch their partners go on other days with other people,
- 31:12Speaker 1: for tears, for the heat, for the animals, for all
- 31:16Speaker 1: the good stuff that happens at Paradise. It's still entertaining
- 31:19Speaker 1: to watch. Chris. Thanks for joining us, man, it means
- 31:22Speaker 1: a lot, and I know you've got a lot going on.
- 31:24Speaker 1: So just thanks for coming on, Thanks for talking to
- 31:26Speaker 1: us about your experience. We're wishing the best, of course.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I appreciate thanks and congressful with you guys. Been on
- 31:31Speaker 1: the wedding coming up, Ashley Jared on the baby, Hey,
- 31:36Speaker 1: thanks bye. All right, before we get into hot topics,
- 31:48Speaker 1: and I have two little notes from the episode that
- 31:51Speaker 1: I just wanted to like put out there as random thoughts.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Thomas saying multiple times that he's six six and like
- 32:00Speaker 1: at his nose was going to run into the wood
- 32:02Speaker 1: was like my first sign of me being like, Okay,
- 32:07Speaker 1: so maybe this guy does kind of suck, because you know,
- 32:11Speaker 1: the guys keep trying to convince us that he really sucks.
- 32:13Speaker 1: But that was like it was an action. It was
- 32:16Speaker 1: like something that I finally saw it in action. I
- 32:19Speaker 1: was like, he's that U is? Am I like coming
- 32:23Speaker 1: off on you on this like self describing thing. Is
- 32:26Speaker 1: it starting to bother you too? Oh my god? Ever
- 32:28Speaker 1: since you said it, I now noticed when people self described.
- 32:31Speaker 1: But like he was trying to make it a point
- 32:33Speaker 1: like I'm so I'm a big guy, like I'm I'm
- 32:35Speaker 1: so so hot and sexy I'm six six, and like
- 32:38Speaker 1: don't you want this when like having to bring attention
- 32:41Speaker 1: to it every time? I need to start doing that.
- 32:44Speaker 1: What if I like showed up to my date with
- 32:46Speaker 1: Jess AND's like, Jess, I'm six four, not very strong,
- 32:53Speaker 1: but like uber sexy. You should know it, Like I'm
- 32:57Speaker 1: gonna run in I'm gonna run into walls with my
- 33:00Speaker 1: nose because I'm so tall. I think should like it.
- 33:04Speaker 1: He has such Josh Murray vibe. Is he not? He does? Yeah,
- 33:09Speaker 1: that's a good comparison. Um, that's a great comparison. I
- 33:13Speaker 1: haven't thought about that, but yes, very very similar. Okay.
- 33:17Speaker 1: And then my second thought is like poor Tashwan, Oh
- 33:20Speaker 1: my gosh, the best. She is the best and seeing
- 33:27Speaker 1: her just have to suffer through Riley asking Marissa out
- 33:32Speaker 1: on a date after she was like I've just been
- 33:36Speaker 1: waiting for you. You're the only person that came to
- 33:37Speaker 1: Paradise where she was so open and honest, And I
- 33:39Speaker 1: was like, go, girl, I'm so glad that you're putting
- 33:41Speaker 1: that out there because I really think that's going to
- 33:43Speaker 1: add to him asking you out. And then when he
- 33:46Speaker 1: said Marissa was like, oh my god, poor girl, poor girl.
- 33:50Speaker 1: She Um she might be a top three favorite Bachelor
- 33:55Speaker 1: in Paradise contestant for me. Ever, not only is she,
- 33:59Speaker 1: they're not like the most beautiful mess I've ever seen,
- 34:02Speaker 1: like her staying at the bar and wells his hander
- 34:04Speaker 1: paper towel, just wiping herself and then like doing the
- 34:08Speaker 1: robot arms like I don't know what to do with myself.
- 34:11Speaker 1: I don't know where to go. Just amazing, amazing human. Um.
- 34:15Speaker 1: It was sad. It was sad, but at the same time, um,
- 34:20Speaker 1: you know I Riley asked Marissa, Like it makes sense
- 34:23Speaker 1: now it like that, Yeah, that sucks, um that she
- 34:27Speaker 1: didn't get asked, but it's like everybody should be fine.
- 34:31Speaker 1: I didn't feel that bad for her because I just
- 34:32Speaker 1: don't know, like if if they would have had the connection,
- 34:36Speaker 1: they would not have Now that we see Riley in
- 34:41Speaker 1: his mode with Marissa, it would not have made any
- 34:44Speaker 1: sense and and I hope the taj one like learns
- 34:48Speaker 1: that soon. Enough, Okay, so let's get to some headlines
- 34:51Speaker 1: that we have just a couple some big headlines this week,
- 34:54Speaker 1: just a few. Obviously, we're doing two episodes this week.
- 34:57Speaker 1: If you haven't listened to the first episode, you should
- 34:59Speaker 1: go back and do it. We already broke down that
- 35:01Speaker 1: David Spade said that hosting was wild and weird and
- 35:04Speaker 1: that there's a ton of things going on. We also
- 35:06Speaker 1: have some news on Peter Webber. Peter Webber says past
- 35:09Speaker 1: relationship didn't work because of high expectations. This according to
- 35:13Speaker 1: e Yes, he said that he's had a few, you know,
- 35:18Speaker 1: failed bachelor relationships, and when he talks about this on
- 35:24Speaker 1: his podcast, he says, like, I feel like sometimes the
- 35:28Speaker 1: hopeless romantic in me kind of backfires because I put
- 35:31Speaker 1: such this high level of expectation on in my head.
- 35:35Speaker 1: And so I've been really kind of in the last
- 35:38Speaker 1: eight nine months really just realizing and observing how I've
- 35:41Speaker 1: been in the past and how I want to change
- 35:44Speaker 1: myself in the future and moving forward. I think that's
- 35:46Speaker 1: probably his my biggest achilles heel is honestly the hopeless
- 35:51Speaker 1: romantic in him. He says, it starts off great, it
- 35:53Speaker 1: starts off very passionate, a lot of fire, and I'm
- 35:55Speaker 1: all about that. Um, But if I'm being completely honest
- 35:59Speaker 1: with you, guys, may be I feel like I sell
- 36:01Speaker 1: sabotage relationships. I mean, I gotta give a lot of
- 36:04Speaker 1: respect to anybody that can admit that, and you can
- 36:07Speaker 1: do it from a place of Hey, I've got to learn.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Now he's going to be his worst critic. We all are.
- 36:12Speaker 1: We're are our worst critics are ourselves. But it also
- 36:15Speaker 1: shows when you can come into that criticism and maybe
- 36:18Speaker 1: you know a lot of it's not. Um, he's holding
- 36:21Speaker 1: himself now to a higher staniard than he should, which
- 36:24Speaker 1: he's doing it again, But he's also learning and I'm
- 36:26Speaker 1: hoping he comes from this learning some of the things.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I mean, he believes he did that didn't work out
- 36:30Speaker 1: in the end. Well, um, big story, and I was
- 36:34Speaker 1: able to actually talk to the source of this story.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Bachelor to alum Jason Tartik says he was hit by
- 36:39Speaker 1: a car while walking his dog. Now, um, I've been
- 36:44Speaker 1: hit by a car. We've talked about in the podcast
- 36:45Speaker 1: before in college a minivan, Oh my god, and Jason
- 36:49Speaker 1: minivan two. Yeah. And so I texted Jason. I said, Jason, man,
- 36:53Speaker 1: I'm sorry, like I've been hit by a car too.
- 36:55Speaker 1: I know it messes with your head and if you
- 36:56Speaker 1: ever want to talk through it, like I know it.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I know even today I have some weird moments where
- 37:01Speaker 1: I'll be walking down the street of car will come behind.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I'll like shiver. And he he texted me back and
- 37:05Speaker 1: he said something that I never even thought of. And
- 37:07Speaker 1: then actually you can break down the story here in
- 37:09Speaker 1: a second, cause people don't know. But Jason was hit
- 37:11Speaker 1: by a car, and he said, the thing that scared
- 37:12Speaker 1: me the most was it hit my knee, which is
- 37:14Speaker 1: the same height as Pino's head. And that's where I'm
- 37:17Speaker 1: getting super like, that's what's messed with me the most.
- 37:20Speaker 1: So actually what happened with that caveat so he and
- 37:23Speaker 1: Caitlin were walking to dogs and she was like a
- 37:26Speaker 1: block ahead of him and he just he's crossing the street.
- 37:32Speaker 1: It was go, you know, like he had the right
- 37:34Speaker 1: to go. And he had one dog, he had Pino
- 37:37Speaker 1: and then Caitlin had Ramen and um. Even though like
- 37:41Speaker 1: the light was for him. The minivan did not stop,
- 37:45Speaker 1: and he was able to maneuver Pino in a way
- 37:48Speaker 1: that he didn't get hurt at all. But Jason kind
- 37:51Speaker 1: of rolled up on the car and he just said
- 37:54Speaker 1: like everything was like fine, you know, he felt fine.
- 37:56Speaker 1: He just like really bruised and um. He kind of
- 38:00Speaker 1: like cursed out the driver and he was like I
- 38:03Speaker 1: didn't really even feel like stopping and like having a
- 38:06Speaker 1: chat with them. I just kind of walked away. Uh,
- 38:10Speaker 1: And they did file a police report on it. Yeah, Well,
- 38:14Speaker 1: a scary momentum for all involved. But the final headline
- 38:18Speaker 1: of the week Ashley Victoria Paul, who just saw Go
- 38:22Speaker 1: Home on the latest episode two episodes ago a guest
- 38:25Speaker 1: and she now is continued to deny that she has
- 38:28Speaker 1: a boyfriend back home. So we kind of left her
- 38:32Speaker 1: exit with this, like does she does she not? Well,
- 38:34Speaker 1: she's now saying no, she does not have a boyfriend
- 38:37Speaker 1: back home. Maybe she doesn't have a boyfriend right now.
- 38:40Speaker 1: But according to your pose on Instagram, where she posted
- 38:44Speaker 1: a picture with the guy in question, she said, at
- 38:47Speaker 1: Teddy Rob and I broke up in May, We've remained
- 38:51Speaker 1: great friends, asked the man, and then she calls him
- 38:55Speaker 1: the best dog, dad and friend, so obviously like they
- 38:59Speaker 1: did share a dog together. And then she um also
- 39:03Speaker 1: asked she was asked from a follower about breakup advice,
- 39:07Speaker 1: and she said, truthfully, I'm currently walking through this season.
- 39:11Speaker 1: I know that joy can still be found in the
- 39:13Speaker 1: midst of uncertainty. Give him or her grace and some
- 39:16Speaker 1: for yourself as well. So she is talking about still
- 39:21Speaker 1: having gone through a breakup now and just the note here,
- 39:26Speaker 1: you know, Victoria was very honest about her going through
- 39:32Speaker 1: therapy and working through some things, not only just from
- 39:35Speaker 1: her life. So there is like a sensitivity of this
- 39:38Speaker 1: that we have to give, right. I mean, it is
- 39:39Speaker 1: a show and she does go home and we're all
- 39:41Speaker 1: confused on that she have a boyfriend? Does she not?
- 39:43Speaker 1: Is as fair ass not whatever, But like, um, the
- 39:46Speaker 1: point to all of it being is like, give her
- 39:48Speaker 1: some space now she's home. She she in my opinion,
- 39:51Speaker 1: and I know it might have felt like some the
- 39:53Speaker 1: safe choice, but in my opinion, she did the right thing.
- 39:55Speaker 1: She went home. She said, I'm out of here, like
- 39:57Speaker 1: this isn't for me anymore. I'm maybe he went here
- 40:00Speaker 1: to explore relationship. Maybe I didn't. Maybe already had a
- 40:03Speaker 1: relationship back home whatever, but she let home. She separated
- 40:06Speaker 1: herself from which I thought Blake Hortsman should have done
- 40:08Speaker 1: a few seasons ago. She should just gone home like
- 40:10Speaker 1: leave it, like leave it and go and deal with
- 40:13Speaker 1: this some other place because this isn't gonna work out
- 40:15Speaker 1: well for you. So Um, now that she's home, give
- 40:18Speaker 1: her space, give her grace. She's now Instagram officially said, Hey,
- 40:21Speaker 1: they're done, and they ended in May. Now I don't
- 40:24Speaker 1: know how long they were dating to have a dog together,
- 40:26Speaker 1: that's I mean, Jess and I don't have a dog together,
- 40:27Speaker 1: even though she love to have one. Pretty there you go. Well, uh,
- 40:33Speaker 1: but yeah, give her some grace, give her some space,
- 40:34Speaker 1: let her breathe. Um, no reason to just like continue
- 40:37Speaker 1: to open up wounds when they've already been opened up. Hey. Um,
- 40:42Speaker 1: that's all the headlines we got for today, Ashley. Uh,
- 40:45Speaker 1: thank you for filling in for me earlier as I
- 40:48Speaker 1: had to step away and take on some other responsibilities.
- 40:51Speaker 1: But it's always good to sit down with you. Um.
- 40:55Speaker 1: We haven't done this yet. I just want to hear
- 40:57Speaker 1: as we close, what is your thoughts on Paradise so far? Like,
- 41:01Speaker 1: how are you feeling about it, and how do you
- 41:02Speaker 1: feel about Lance? Oh well, okay, So we talked about
- 41:05Speaker 1: Lance earlier in the episode, and I just love the
- 41:06Speaker 1: fact that he was such a fan boy, and I
- 41:08Speaker 1: love the fact that he talked to like I didn't
- 41:10Speaker 1: mention this. I love the way that he talked to
- 41:12Speaker 1: the girls, like he just sat around the kitchen table
- 41:14Speaker 1: and was like, so, what are we feeling? And I
- 41:17Speaker 1: feel like he was intuitive, and I just feel like
- 41:20Speaker 1: he is super enthusiastic and excited about it. Even the
- 41:24Speaker 1: way that he like hosted the one on one day,
- 41:26Speaker 1: you can just tell that he was like, oh my god,
- 41:28Speaker 1: I can't believe I'm posting a one on one UM,
- 41:32Speaker 1: And what do you think about Lance? I thought it
- 41:35Speaker 1: was great. I thought he was just what this show
- 41:37Speaker 1: needed this week. I thought he did interact well with
- 41:41Speaker 1: the cast. You know, I'm imagining that when you get
- 41:45Speaker 1: asked the guest host, it's kind of up to you
- 41:46Speaker 1: and how much you guest host, because I'm assuming it's
- 41:49Speaker 1: a flat fee, and you're like, you just get paid
- 41:51Speaker 1: to host this week, and here's your core responsibilities. Say
- 41:54Speaker 1: hi to everybody, host a date, close it out right.
- 41:59Speaker 1: And Lance like went above and beyond, Like he's not
- 42:01Speaker 1: getting paid for that chat with the girls. He's like,
- 42:03Speaker 1: I just want to be here. Hey, I'm already here.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I'm hanging out like I'm a big fan of Paradise.
- 42:06Speaker 1: I see the bar that wells you know Barton's from.
- 42:09Speaker 1: I'm seeing the table and the command is in the
- 42:12Speaker 1: booming room, and I just want to hang out the cast. Um.
- 42:15Speaker 1: I thought it was great. I thought he was fantastic.
- 42:17Speaker 1: I thought I fit it well. I'm excited to see
- 42:19Speaker 1: what he does next week with it. I thought it
- 42:21Speaker 1: was hilarious though. I just thought I was laughing when
- 42:23Speaker 1: he was in that room hosting that I was thinking about,
- 42:25Speaker 1: you know, me standing in that room as two people
- 42:27Speaker 1: making out, being like, this is where my hosting skills die,
- 42:30Speaker 1: Like I don't know what to do now. That is
- 42:34Speaker 1: such a good point. And then your other question, how
- 42:36Speaker 1: do I feel? Overall? I definitely find myself more intrigued
- 42:39Speaker 1: in certain storylines than others. Um maybe okay, so obviously
- 42:44Speaker 1: like Joe and Serena. And that's because I know Joe personally. Um,
- 42:49Speaker 1: that's the one I'm drawn to the most. It's whatever
- 42:51Speaker 1: Tajuan is on the screen. I am dialed in. Um.
- 42:55Speaker 1: I also like I'm pretty invested in Natasha and where
- 43:00Speaker 1: things are and where Brendan's at and how he's going
- 43:04Speaker 1: to get so so caught next week? Can I comment
- 43:08Speaker 1: on that? We know Natasha, She's beautiful, beautiful, what a catch?
- 43:13Speaker 1: I mean, like that girl out of any girls and
- 43:16Speaker 1: I don't know many of them on the beach, but
- 43:18Speaker 1: like she should be pursued and like she should be
- 43:20Speaker 1: the one that everybody's like on Natasha, Like I get
- 43:23Speaker 1: to take her on the date, Holy moly, Like she's
- 43:25Speaker 1: just awesome, and it feels like right now she's in
- 43:28Speaker 1: a place where she's gotten herself in a situation where
- 43:30Speaker 1: she's not being pursued. He's not kissed her yet, Like
- 43:34Speaker 1: what that that's a dead giveaway that he's waiting for
- 43:37Speaker 1: pipe rating. Yeah yeah, so like let her go. That
- 43:40Speaker 1: would be my comment is like let her go so
- 43:42Speaker 1: that she can figure it out. Because Natasha is incredible.
- 43:46Speaker 1: She showed up to the beach, has a lot going
- 43:48Speaker 1: on in life, she's a rock star. Like then let
- 43:51Speaker 1: her have her space, you know, end it and let
- 43:55Speaker 1: her move on. I don't know. That frustrated me because
- 43:57Speaker 1: I'm a big fan of her, big fan. All right, Ben,
- 44:00Speaker 1: Well until next week and I see your lovely face again.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Until then, I've been Ashley, and I've been Ben. Talk
