- 32:47Speaker 14: It's absolutely probably the most fun interview I've done.
- 32:51Speaker 1: That's that's quite a label. That's quite a label.
- 32:54Speaker 5: I would not expect anything less from somebody as colorful
- 32:57Speaker 5: as us. If what a what a name, amazing talent,
- 33:01Speaker 5: and of course his big show Deli Boys, and what
- 33:04Speaker 5: a conversation that must have been for you.
- 33:07Speaker 14: Yes, it's always so exciting when I can come full
- 33:10Speaker 14: circle with an artist I've admired for a while. So
- 33:13Speaker 14: it was just a truly an honor to have him
- 33:15Speaker 14: on the show.
- 33:16Speaker 5: Yeah, he comes across like a very funny, colorful guy.
- 33:20Speaker 5: Share some of those kind of moments with us if
- 33:23Speaker 5: you don't mind. What was it like being in the
- 33:24Speaker 5: room with him?
- 33:26Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean, listen, I've been talking with him off
- 33:30Speaker 14: and on for a couple of years, and I knew
- 33:32Speaker 14: that he was going to be funny, but I didn't
- 33:34Speaker 14: know that he was almost going to turn around the
- 33:37Speaker 14: interview and started asking me questions about things that I
- 33:41Speaker 14: love to talk about. Honestly, we were talking about Heatherbody
- 33:44Speaker 14: food and how Hetherbobbi Biriani is the best Briyanni out there,
- 33:47Speaker 14: and how our dads cook Brianni and it should be
- 33:50Speaker 14: the men in the family who make the very Yanni.
- 33:52Speaker 14: And I thought that was such a fun conversation to
- 33:54Speaker 14: get into, and how he was talking about what is
- 33:58Speaker 14: it with Indian weddings and everyone brings their real jewelry
- 34:01Speaker 14: and nobody tries to protect it, and then he started
- 34:03Speaker 14: going into hey, this is a time spot for people
- 34:07Speaker 14: to come in and Robbia, so, hey, here's my advice
- 34:10Speaker 14: to people at any wedding.
- 34:11Speaker 25: Maybe sleep of all the jewelry you wear.
- 34:14Speaker 15: It's crazy, it's.
- 34:15Speaker 14: Crazy, He's like, because after Brianni, we all know we
- 34:18Speaker 14: get into that coma sleep. It was just like a
- 34:20Speaker 14: full circle conversation. He was so good at kind of
- 34:23Speaker 14: just bringing it all back around. And then of course
- 34:25Speaker 14: we did talk about Deli Boys and him working on
- 34:28Speaker 14: that show for two seasons now, which is always so fun.
- 34:31Speaker 14: And then he had a really interesting take on Manifestation
- 34:34Speaker 14: that you guys are just gonna have to go to
- 34:35Speaker 14: the episode to listen to because it was very interesting.
- 34:39Speaker 5: It's really interesting because his background to me, you know,
- 34:43Speaker 5: he's been on a few shows, but now he's arrived
- 34:46Speaker 5: in what I think is the perfect role for him,
- 34:49Speaker 5: you know, and I agree, you know, it's it's such
- 34:51Speaker 5: a great role. Of course, it feels like a character
- 34:54Speaker 5: that's written for him as well. But he's had quite
- 34:57Speaker 5: a journey, you know, WandaVision, don't worry, Darling. I mean,
- 35:02Speaker 5: this is somebody that has been around in Hollywood for
- 35:04Speaker 5: a while, making varieties Top ten comedies to watch in
- 35:08Speaker 5: twenty twenty four. I mean, as If is no joke
- 35:12Speaker 5: and no pun intended, And so for him to sit
- 35:15Speaker 5: down and share his story with you, you know, would
- 35:18Speaker 5: you take away from that?
- 35:20Speaker 44: You know?
- 35:20Speaker 14: What I took away from it is that there are
- 35:23Speaker 14: artists inspired by all sorts of things, and Assis seems
- 35:26Speaker 14: to be very much inspired by his culture, his surroundings,
- 35:30Speaker 14: and his upbringing.
- 35:31Speaker 1: And I love that.
- 35:32Speaker 14: I love that he's able to talk about his family
- 35:35Speaker 14: and he's able to talk about his culture in this
- 35:38Speaker 14: way that showcases his pride in it, but also that
- 35:42Speaker 14: he's able to make fun of it a little bit
- 35:44Speaker 14: and to educate people about it through comedy. And I
- 35:47Speaker 14: thought it's so inspiring because I always want to do that.
- 35:49Speaker 14: I always want to try to educate people about our
- 35:52Speaker 14: culture or our faith through entertainment, through something light, and
- 35:55Speaker 14: so it was just so perfect to have him on
- 35:57Speaker 14: the show. And like you said, he's had such a
- 36:00Speaker 14: stellar career, and I'm so proud of him, and I'm
- 36:03Speaker 14: proud to have witnessed his journey and to be a
- 36:05Speaker 14: part of it in some way, and I hope to
- 36:07Speaker 14: continue to be a part of it because I know
- 36:09Speaker 14: he's going to go on and do some really incredible things.
- 36:11Speaker 5: Yeah, you get the feeling watching his career just unfold
- 36:14Speaker 5: and just the success of Deli Boys and just what
- 36:17Speaker 5: it's done.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Uh.
- 36:18Speaker 5: You mentioned that he was asking you questions and the
- 36:20Speaker 5: two of you guys were going back and forth a
- 36:21Speaker 5: little bit. Tell me about a little bit of the
- 36:23Speaker 5: conversation that may have floated outside the world of entertainment here.
- 36:27Speaker 14: Yeah, he was like, so are you bringing your husband
- 36:30Speaker 14: on the show? Which was so perfect because that was
- 36:32Speaker 14: the last episode.
- 36:33Speaker 20: So I was like, yeah, you know, actually I did
- 36:36Speaker 20: that and he.
- 36:36Speaker 14: Was like what I think. He's like, oh, ah, bit
- 36:38Speaker 14: your husband. And we were able to have a mental
- 36:41Speaker 14: health for a little bit, and then he started asking me,
- 36:45Speaker 14: what's the weirdest DM you ever got? You guys are
- 36:47Speaker 14: gonna have to go to the show to hear that,
- 36:48Speaker 14: because that conversation was so fun because we talked about
- 36:51Speaker 14: Harry Styles for a second because he worked with him
- 36:53Speaker 14: and don't worry dying. Yeah, he had a fun story
- 36:56Speaker 14: about that.
- 36:57Speaker 1: That's so cool. That must have been a very interesting
- 36:59Speaker 1: story for him to share there.
- 37:00Speaker 5: That's really cool, you know, if you're looking at his
- 37:05Speaker 5: career now and where you see it going. Of course,
- 37:08Speaker 5: television continues to be a space there, and I know
- 37:11Speaker 5: that he has been predominantly known in that space. But
- 37:15Speaker 5: you get this feeling by watching him that you know,
- 37:18Speaker 5: of course is improv work that he's done with Hassan
- 37:20Speaker 5: and goat Face and so many other cool things like that.
- 37:22Speaker 5: You get the feeling that he's going to evolve into
- 37:25Speaker 5: a little bit more of a comedic personality, if you might,
- 37:28Speaker 5: If do you get that feeling that he'll probably take
- 37:30Speaker 5: on some stand up and maybe there's a film or
- 37:33Speaker 5: two in the future here. You get this feeling that
- 37:35Speaker 5: he's opening up to a bigger plane in his career.
- 37:38Speaker 14: Oh absolutely, I think you know, having a Netflix comedy
- 37:42Speaker 14: special in his future is very, very possible. He's definitely
- 37:47Speaker 14: really funny, and he's got a lot of really amazing
- 37:50Speaker 14: comedians like backing him and giving him the platform constantly,
- 37:54Speaker 14: not to mention, he's got a great team of people
- 37:56Speaker 14: and just a lot of people who support and follow
- 38:00Speaker 14: him for.
- 38:00Speaker 23: A long time.
- 38:01Speaker 14: And I do believe movies is his future more and more.
- 38:04Speaker 14: I mean, we saw him in Don't Worry Darling and
- 38:07Speaker 14: that was a really interesting film. And I really hope
- 38:10Speaker 14: that he gets more interesting roles like this and continues
- 38:13Speaker 14: to get roles that it doesn't matter that he's South Asian,
- 38:16Speaker 14: it doesn't matter that he's Mustlim. Is just a role,
- 38:19Speaker 14: it's just a guy. I think that's one of the
- 38:21Speaker 14: best qualities he has is that in Wanda Vision Agatha
- 38:24Speaker 14: all along in New Girl, he had these roles that
- 38:28Speaker 14: his name was normal or his name was Jeremy. It
- 38:30Speaker 14: wasn't like, oh, he's Ali or he's you know, Foottaiale
- 38:33Speaker 14: or whatever.
- 38:34Speaker 40: You know.
- 38:34Speaker 14: There wasn't It wasn't a type cast. And I really
- 38:36Speaker 14: hope that really opens a lot of doors for him
- 38:38Speaker 14: in the future do really funny and fun things.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody go check out that interview.
- 38:44Speaker 5: And by the way, shout out to Niezu by the
- 38:45Speaker 5: way for the big honorable mention there as part of
