- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six forty through six forty two
- 0:16Speaker 1: explore Fairies, Island, Green Bit, the Unknown World, the Tontata Kingdom,
- 0:24Speaker 1: and the Stratagem of the Century. Do Flamingo makes his
- 0:28Speaker 1: move in these episodes? I am very excited because these
- 0:35Speaker 1: three episodes have very little of the whole contest in them,
- 0:39Speaker 1: and we get to see what's happening with everybody else,
- 0:41Speaker 1: which made me very relieved. Also, they're nomes according to
- 0:47Speaker 1: the subtitles. Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for
- 1:14Speaker 1: commissioning this episode. So yeah, they're called fairies in the
- 1:20Speaker 1: actual dialogue, but then in the subtitles they are well,
- 1:24Speaker 1: I don't know if it's called I guess it would
- 1:26Speaker 1: be the closed captioning that's different. They are called gnomes repeatedly,
- 1:33Speaker 1: and I was just not sure if it's like a
- 1:38Speaker 1: translation thing and nomes is more accurate to what they
- 1:41Speaker 1: say in the show, or if it's you know, it's
- 1:46Speaker 1: the other way and they got it wrong for the
- 1:49Speaker 1: closed captioning instead. But I just wanted to mention that
- 1:53Speaker 1: because I'm going to keep calling them fairies unless one
- 1:57Speaker 1: of you all tells me to differently, because to me
- 2:02Speaker 1: like it. The thing is that I keep thinking of
- 2:07Speaker 1: is when you lose something like traditionally, what people would
- 2:11Speaker 1: say is it was stolen by one of the little folk.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And that doesn't really call to mind fairies or gnomes specifically,
- 2:22Speaker 1: but I guess it does call gnomes slightly more than
- 2:27Speaker 1: just fairies. Like when I think fairies, I think wings.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I think like butterflies or hummingbird type creatures. Mostly, even
- 2:38Speaker 1: though I have read all of the Dress and Files books,
- 2:40Speaker 1: that's still what I think. And when I think gnomes,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I do think like small statued creatures that live in
- 2:49Speaker 1: the ground, kind of hobbit like. So maybe gnomes is
- 2:53Speaker 1: more correct, but I don't know. I guess I'll go
- 2:57Speaker 1: with gnomes after all. Maybe. I uh, I'm curious how
- 3:02Speaker 1: what you guys think about all of this, The fact
- 3:04Speaker 1: that it's called Fairies Island in the title, But I
- 3:07Speaker 1: know that sometimes with the dub that the titles have
- 3:11Speaker 1: been changed, you know, like Binks's Brew was called Binks's
- 3:16Speaker 1: Beer or something. It was just slightly different. Anyway, I
- 3:21Speaker 1: just really would like to hear from y'all about what
- 3:25Speaker 1: you think on this, because it's not hugely important, but
- 3:29Speaker 1: I would rather go with whatever the fandom has sort
- 3:32Speaker 1: of agreed upon in general, because you know, that just
- 3:36Speaker 1: makes it easier to listen to. I think, when you're
- 3:38Speaker 1: not constantly having to fight against a word that feels
- 3:41Speaker 1: wrong for the subject better. So, yeah, let's let's talk
- 3:46Speaker 1: about green Bit. This was such a weird storyline, and
- 3:52Speaker 1: I'm not entirely clear still on like some of the
- 3:55Speaker 1: way things work with them because of the way they
- 3:59Speaker 1: behave with Robin. But we pick up, like you know
- 4:05Speaker 1: how the show like always starts the episode with a
- 4:07Speaker 1: little bit of the end of the previous episode, and
- 4:12Speaker 1: this one picks up reminding us about how they were
- 4:16Speaker 1: like fishing and caught one of those giant fish and
- 4:19Speaker 1: like saved our friends, it seems inadvertently, and they arrive
- 4:24Speaker 1: on the island and this is once again USOP law Robin,
- 4:28Speaker 1: and oh my god, the mad scientist guy. I cannot
- 4:34Speaker 1: believe I forgot his name. But what I thought was
- 4:38Speaker 1: funny is that Usop's first line in this episode, looking
- 4:41Speaker 1: up at all of this is I've got to say
- 4:44Speaker 1: the landscaping leaves a lot to be desired. And I
- 4:47Speaker 1: was genuinely taken aback by this because when he started
- 4:50Speaker 1: to say the landscaping, I thought he was gonna comment
- 4:52Speaker 1: on how similar this place looks to the island that
- 4:55Speaker 1: he lived on for two years where he like learned
- 4:58Speaker 1: how to do a bunch of things. It just seemed
- 5:01Speaker 1: to me like it looked so very very similar, and yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 1: for him to just be like, well, this place looks
- 5:09Speaker 1: like shit, I was like, oh, well, Jesus, so all
- 5:15Speaker 1: of that. It's sort of weird because like you would
- 5:18Speaker 1: think everything would feel huge to the little people and
- 5:24Speaker 1: be normal sized to the humans, But everything here is
- 5:29Speaker 1: so enormous that the humans themselves are fairy sized, it
- 5:35Speaker 1: seems to me, And that was very very unexpected. This
- 5:40Speaker 1: was sort of reminding me a little bit of that
- 5:43Speaker 1: one piece movie that one of you commissioned for me
- 5:47Speaker 1: to watch. I can't remember, but it had that like
- 5:52Speaker 1: weird vine that like absorbed people and they have this
- 5:58Speaker 1: humongous rose on the end of like a rose vine
- 6:02Speaker 1: with a bunch of thorns, and it just that kept
- 6:05Speaker 1: making me think of it. So what we have here
- 6:10Speaker 1: is this weird situation where a navy battleship I mentioned
- 6:15Speaker 1: this last time is clearly here, and it's like recently here,
- 6:19Speaker 1: it's somehow stuck in the actual undergrowth of the island,
- 6:24Speaker 1: like it jumped onto shore somehow, and they're trying to
- 6:27Speaker 1: figure out how that could even happen. And it's like,
- 6:33Speaker 1: this should all signal that something isn't right about the
- 6:37Speaker 1: way this plan is going, but evidently we're just gonna
- 6:41Speaker 1: go along with it anyway. So when they get here,
- 6:49Speaker 1: they have I love that Caesar, that's his name. I
- 6:53Speaker 1: don't know how I forgot that. Caesar just keeps on
- 6:56Speaker 1: yelling to be saved by the Joke. There's a couple
- 7:02Speaker 1: things about this that I find really funny. First of all,
- 7:06Speaker 1: it's like it seems to me that he appears to
- 7:12Speaker 1: believe that the Joker personally cares about him, Like it
- 7:19Speaker 1: kept sounding to me as if he were yelling out
- 7:23Speaker 1: like hey buddy, I'm here, Hey my friend. You know
- 7:26Speaker 1: like that he really thought you are going to want
- 7:32Speaker 1: to personally make sure that I am okay, which is adorable,
- 7:37Speaker 1: because of course Joker doesn't care about him personally. He
- 7:41Speaker 1: just wants like, whatever the information is that is in
- 7:44Speaker 1: Caesar's head, and then I'm sure he could give a
- 7:47Speaker 1: shit whether the man lives or dies. But also that
- 7:51Speaker 1: he just keeps like shouting and trying to like manage
- 7:57Speaker 1: the situation on his own without really knowing what what's happening.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Caesar is just so so much goofier then I keep
- 8:07Speaker 1: expecting him to be. And there's a part of me,
- 8:12Speaker 1: not a big part, but there's like a part of
- 8:15Speaker 1: me that does kind of want Caesar to do a
- 8:19Speaker 1: mister too and like become a friend to the group.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I it like the fact that he seems to really
- 8:28Speaker 1: believe that he and Joker are on the same side
- 8:35Speaker 1: has me wondering if he's going to be suddenly disillusioned
- 8:39Speaker 1: by the way maybe Joker treats him as disposable eventually,
- 8:45Speaker 1: and then he will turn a corner and be like, oh, well,
- 8:50Speaker 1: screw this guy. Then never mind, I'm gonna throw in
- 8:54Speaker 1: with these guys. But you know, I will say again,
- 9:02Speaker 1: it feels like we don't want to just do that
- 9:05Speaker 1: a second time after doing it with Mister two. It's
- 9:09Speaker 1: it's a little bit predictable, but I just I do
- 9:14Speaker 1: kind of enjoy Caesar and his dynamic with everybody else
- 9:18Speaker 1: and how it's he's just clearly not somebody who is
- 9:22Speaker 1: used to working in a way that requires him to
- 9:25Speaker 1: be on the d L at all. So there's just
- 9:28Speaker 1: this sense of him being very out of his depth,
- 9:31Speaker 1: and after having seen him in his own domain, in
- 9:35Speaker 1: charge of everything and super confident and just the you know,
- 9:39Speaker 1: ruling the roost, for him to have this moment where
- 9:44Speaker 1: it just feels like he doesn't know what to do
- 9:47Speaker 1: and he's just sort of yelling out into the you know,
- 9:50Speaker 1: middle distance, going like can somebody help please? I find
- 9:53Speaker 1: it genuinely very funny. So yeah, the thing that Caesar
- 10:03Speaker 1: keeps saying is like, well, if the fucking Marines are here,
- 10:06Speaker 1: this changes everything, Like what are they going to do
- 10:08Speaker 1: if they get a hold of me? Like, that's the
- 10:10Speaker 1: last thing that I can afford to have happened. If
- 10:15Speaker 1: Joker has resigned, then there's no authority that'll protect me.
- 10:20Speaker 1: So if you leave me in these handcuffs, then they'll
- 10:23Speaker 1: find me, and also keeps yelling at him to be
- 10:26Speaker 1: fucking quiet. So Robin, she says to Law, what's going
- 10:36Speaker 1: on with these guys being here? How would they even
- 10:39Speaker 1: know where we were? I think you're hiding something, and
- 10:43Speaker 1: he's like, no, I'm not, and then we have the
- 10:46Speaker 1: flashback to him actually telling Smoker that I'm heading over
- 10:50Speaker 1: to Green Bit maybe the straw hats will be useful
- 10:53Speaker 1: or maybe I'm the one who's useful to them, and
- 10:56Speaker 1: he walks away. So I love the fact that Robin
- 11:01Speaker 1: is sort of on to him. Guys. I just I
- 11:06Speaker 1: just want a little bit more from Robin, you know.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I just want to like her more. I want there
- 11:14Speaker 1: to be more for her to do. I just these
- 11:21Speaker 1: little moments where like, and I know that you guys
- 11:24Speaker 1: have talked about how she has a sort of like
- 11:27Speaker 1: morbid sense of humor and that it doesn't come through
- 11:30Speaker 1: in the translation. I definitely see what you're talking about,
- 11:33Speaker 1: because there have been a couple of times where it
- 11:36Speaker 1: has come through in the translation a little bit and
- 11:39Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, that's what they're talking about, And yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 1: it just wasn't translated very well at all. But I
- 11:45Speaker 1: just wish that somebody had worked a little harder on
- 11:48Speaker 1: getting that right, because these moments where she is able
- 11:52Speaker 1: to suss out something isn't right in a way nobody
- 11:55Speaker 1: else has seems to put together. You guys, know how
- 11:58Speaker 1: much I respond to and tell legs in a character
- 12:01Speaker 1: like this is exactly my jam. So when she kind
- 12:05Speaker 1: of zeroed in and was like that's weird, I was like, yes,
- 12:09Speaker 1: thank you. Uh. And he says, let's see what do
- 12:17Speaker 1: I stand to gain from the straw hats being captured?
- 12:20Speaker 1: And Caesar says, well, if we're all on the same side,
- 12:23Speaker 1: why don't you just take off my handcuffs. So Las says,
- 12:28Speaker 1: you two go hide somewhere and be prepared to snipe,
- 12:32Speaker 1: stay on guard, and because they may be in the
- 12:35Speaker 1: forest as we speak, if you find anything, let me
- 12:37Speaker 1: know as soon as you can. So they go into
- 12:41Speaker 1: the forest and oos Up is like cowering as Robin
- 12:47Speaker 1: just casually walks through, which makes it very funny because
- 12:52Speaker 1: eventually she's acting as if he's being ridiculous about being
- 12:57Speaker 1: so afraid, but like she does get got so maybe
- 13:00Speaker 1: he had a point actually, and they hear some yelling
- 13:05Speaker 1: and then we get to see this group of marines
- 13:08Speaker 1: who are being encircled by the fairies. And the fairies
- 13:13Speaker 1: are so small. I think it's meant to be more
- 13:15Speaker 1: that they're just tiny enough that you don't see them
- 13:18Speaker 1: right away, and that they move super fast, but not
- 13:20Speaker 1: that they're literally invisible. Correct me if I'm wrong on that,
- 13:24Speaker 1: But I get the impression that it's just sort of
- 13:26Speaker 1: like if you can catch one, then you're good, but
- 13:29Speaker 1: not that they can actually make themselves impossible to see.
- 13:35Speaker 1: So Robin and Oosup are watching what's going on with
- 13:39Speaker 1: these uh marines, and all of a sudden, like one
- 13:43Speaker 1: of them fires is gone into the air to try
- 13:46Speaker 1: and scare off whatever's like taunting them, and that pretty
- 13:51Speaker 1: much instigates the whole thing where the fairies jump in
- 13:55Speaker 1: and begin to like take their weapons, take their clothing.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Eventually these guys are standing there in their underwear and
- 14:01Speaker 1: they just run away. Really honestly, I love this solution
- 14:06Speaker 1: to aggression, the idea that like, Okay, you're gonna come
- 14:10Speaker 1: at me with a gun, I am going to strip
- 14:12Speaker 1: you literally down to your skivvies and make you run
- 14:16Speaker 1: home to your mommy. Like I feel like that's not
- 14:19Speaker 1: a bad method of coping overall, and I support it.
- 14:28Speaker 1: So one of the fairies is yelling like, that'll teach
- 14:32Speaker 1: you big people to boss us, and this is when
- 14:35Speaker 1: we see this like movement in the grass, and Robin
- 14:41Speaker 1: uses her ability to get her hands all coming up
- 14:44Speaker 1: out of the ground and catches one of the creatures,
- 14:48Speaker 1: and USAP can't quite see it, so he does this
- 14:51Speaker 1: like long drawn out, like oh, I guess you're joking
- 14:53Speaker 1: around kind of thing. But eventually he sees it and
- 14:57Speaker 1: is like, oh shit, it really is a person, and
- 15:03Speaker 1: we jump from there over to Zoro and it's sort
- 15:08Speaker 1: of I was a little bit surprised at the way
- 15:12Speaker 1: they have been telling this story. I'm not averse to
- 15:15Speaker 1: it at all, just to be clear, I actually kind
- 15:17Speaker 1: of like this, but the way that they are in
- 15:21Speaker 1: the past, when the crew has been split up and
- 15:24Speaker 1: we have had everybody dealing with a different kind of storyline,
- 15:28Speaker 1: usually what they each have going on is really distinctly
- 15:32Speaker 1: separate from everybody else. They're dealing with like a particular
- 15:35Speaker 1: bad guy or you know, some kind of specific obstacle,
- 15:40Speaker 1: maybe something more personal, and it's told in a very
- 15:46Speaker 1: linear fashion. But here, because of the way that like
- 15:52Speaker 1: we are moving around in time, we're having to like
- 15:58Speaker 1: kind of back up a little bit whenever we jump
- 16:00Speaker 1: to somebody else and or when we rejoin them, some
- 16:05Speaker 1: shit has already happened that has been off screen and
- 16:10Speaker 1: that isn't usual. Oftentimes we see like the whole thing
- 16:14Speaker 1: going on with somebody else except for a couple very
- 16:17Speaker 1: small moments. But like Zoro, the last time that we
- 16:20Speaker 1: saw him, we saw him like falling off that building
- 16:26Speaker 1: and this creature like squeaking, and when we come back,
- 16:31Speaker 1: he's already running and talking to somebody. Eventually we do
- 16:35Speaker 1: go back and we do see it like it's not
- 16:38Speaker 1: like this is just told to us secondhand. The narrative
- 16:43Speaker 1: does one of those sort of like flashback things, But
- 16:47Speaker 1: I just sort of liked handling it this way where
- 16:51Speaker 1: we are meeting with him sort of in media res
- 16:55Speaker 1: and then get filled in and it what it was
- 16:59Speaker 1: that happened was this creature like lands on him. Apparently
- 17:04Speaker 1: it's like very frowned upon for these fairies to let
- 17:08Speaker 1: a human being see them, So as soon as they
- 17:12Speaker 1: were spotted by Zoro, it was like very embarrassing, and
- 17:17Speaker 1: they felt like they were going to get in trouble
- 17:20Speaker 1: and they wanted to just run away and let Zoro
- 17:23Speaker 1: like not like trust that he wouldn't tell anybody or
- 17:27Speaker 1: wouldn't be believed or whatever. But it turns out that
- 17:30Speaker 1: they have injured themselves in their fall and are unable
- 17:34Speaker 1: to run, and it's the like it reminded me a
- 17:43Speaker 1: little bit of the way that belongings are handled by
- 17:49Speaker 1: goblins in Harry Potter. If you don't remember, goblins don't
- 17:56Speaker 1: really believe that a wizard can purchase an object that
- 18:03Speaker 1: a goblin has made. Basically, they believe you pay to
- 18:09Speaker 1: own it while you are alive, and then once you
- 18:13Speaker 1: are dead, it goes back to the goblins, who then
- 18:16Speaker 1: have the prerogative to resell it or whatever. And there's
- 18:25Speaker 1: like a kind of similar like, well, we do a
- 18:28Speaker 1: lot for this island and the community, so anything that
- 18:35Speaker 1: we take is actually a gift in reward for the
- 18:41Speaker 1: services that we do, which, of course, like he does
- 18:45Speaker 1: not live here and he doesn't understand this custom and
- 18:48Speaker 1: is fully like that is super not how this works.
- 18:52Speaker 1: What are you talking about? But I will admit that
- 18:56Speaker 1: I kind of love this idea of it, just being like, oh, yeah, well,
- 19:00Speaker 1: if the little folk do it, it's fine, because honestly
- 19:04Speaker 1: we sort of owe them anyway. I don't hate it,
- 19:07Speaker 1: I'll be real. But when we join him, we haven't
- 19:13Speaker 1: seen any of this yet, and Zoro is just running
- 19:16Speaker 1: down the street yelling to himself. It looks like but
- 19:19Speaker 1: it's because he has the fairy like in the front
- 19:21Speaker 1: of his shirt and nobody else can see it. I
- 19:24Speaker 1: did find it funny when there's a kid asking like
- 19:26Speaker 1: who is he yelling at mom, and his mother saying
- 19:29Speaker 1: don't look at him money, and I was like, yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 1: that's basically whenever you're around people who seem like they
- 19:35Speaker 1: are not stable, that is pretty much how parents treat
- 19:39Speaker 1: their children. It's just like, don't make eye contact. I mean,
- 19:41Speaker 1: that's just how a lot of us behave. Let's being real.
- 19:46Speaker 1: So yeah, we jump back in time here for a second,
- 19:52Speaker 1: and the whole thing with like her yelling at him.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Her name is Wicca according to the subtitles. I'm not
- 19:58Speaker 1: sure if she ever actually introduces herself to him, but
- 20:02Speaker 1: she has a really weird look to her. I'm not
- 20:07Speaker 1: I kind of like these designs of these little guys.
- 20:13Speaker 1: They're a cross between a sort of like ah, it's
- 20:22Speaker 1: like a little no mish, but also like a bird,
- 20:25Speaker 1: which is what gives it that very ish sort of feel.
- 20:29Speaker 1: But she's wearing this like top hat, and she's got
- 20:33Speaker 1: blue hair and like a blue tail. I think I
- 20:37Speaker 1: think it's a tail and like a blue double breasted
- 20:40Speaker 1: suit jacket. Yeah, she's really like specific looking. She has
- 20:48Speaker 1: such a big head. I find her actually kind of adorable.
- 20:53Speaker 1: And the way that she just starts crying is like,
- 20:55Speaker 1: I'm stupid and dumb. I knew this would screw I
- 20:58Speaker 1: would screw this all up somehow. Oh yeah, it says Wicka,
- 21:02Speaker 1: a member of the scouting unit. That's what it is.
- 21:04Speaker 1: So that's it. Yeah, And she's like, don't tell anybody
- 21:07Speaker 1: you saw me, please, And Zorro immediately starts to get
- 21:10Speaker 1: like kind of it feels like he's feeling a little
- 21:15Speaker 1: protective of her. Eventually he puts her down and she
- 21:18Speaker 1: starts to kind of throw a tantrum and she like
- 21:22Speaker 1: breaks the shit out of the road. And I think
- 21:25Speaker 1: that he got impressed by that. It seemed like he
- 21:28Speaker 1: was really oh damn, because you know Zoro, he respects strength.
- 21:35Speaker 1: So the fact that she is this small but she's
- 21:38Speaker 1: pulverizing the cobblestones, I feel like that's pretty notable. And
- 21:47Speaker 1: you know, he's asking her like what is even going
- 21:49Speaker 1: on here? And she tells him, I'm not even allowed
- 21:52Speaker 1: to tell you, Like I can't tell big people. I
- 21:55Speaker 1: need you to see. Take me to see my commander
- 21:57Speaker 1: as quickly as possible. This whole thing's kind of your
- 22:00Speaker 1: fault when you get right down to it, which is
- 22:04Speaker 1: when the whole subject of the sword comes up and
- 22:08Speaker 1: it being a gift. My orders are to report to
- 22:10Speaker 1: my commander on the whereabouts of the don Quixote family.
- 22:14Speaker 1: We're running out of time, please, I saw them. I
- 22:17Speaker 1: know for a fact they're on their way to attack
- 22:19Speaker 1: the straw Hat ship right now. So we've got a
- 22:22Speaker 1: hurry and Zorro is like, wait, excuse me. So, yeah,
- 22:26Speaker 1: we're getting a lot of information from different people. Eventually
- 22:30Speaker 1: when we jump over to Sanji, we get a little
- 22:34Speaker 1: bit more here. But I do want to note that Zorro,
- 22:38Speaker 1: as he's like getting this information, is thinking to himself
- 22:42Speaker 1: about who all is out there, law, Robin, Oosop, and Caesar,
- 22:50Speaker 1: and he thinks to himself those four, huh, that's not
- 22:55Speaker 1: a strong team, you guys. I was so offended, like, look,
- 23:04Speaker 1: they're not the team that I would choose. But Trefalcar
- 23:09Speaker 1: is no slouch. Robin has a pretty bonker's power. Oos
- 23:15Speaker 1: Up is like your mileage may vary, Caesar, it remains
- 23:21Speaker 1: to be seen. I really don't know what to think
- 23:23Speaker 1: of him, because like we just haven't seen him in
- 23:26Speaker 1: a real kind of combat forward situation. He has always
- 23:30Speaker 1: been coming from a different place, I guess. But yeah,
- 23:36Speaker 1: I just I felt like that assessment was a little harsh.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I just you know what I'm saying anyway, So okay,
- 23:50Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I'm trying to like make sure that I
- 23:52Speaker 1: cover everything, because she says, like a bunch of things
- 23:56Speaker 1: sort of mixed in. Let's see, if those guys knew
- 24:01Speaker 1: where to find us, they must have been following our
- 24:06Speaker 1: movements for a while now, is that right? And she says,
- 24:08Speaker 1: but we've been keeping a pretty close eye on them too.
- 24:12Speaker 1: You mean you fairies have a beef with Do Flamingo
- 24:15Speaker 1: And she says, that's right. Oh, just forget I told
- 24:18Speaker 1: you that. Okay, So I wonder what's going on there,
- 24:22Speaker 1: the fact that Do Flamingo has the Fay on his
- 24:25Speaker 1: bad side. Like, I kind of love this idea anytime
- 24:34Speaker 1: that you have got like a group of beings that
- 24:37Speaker 1: seem as if they don't really have the wherewithal to
- 24:40Speaker 1: defend themselves, and somebody takes them for granted or steps
- 24:44Speaker 1: all over them, and then it turns out that they
- 24:46Speaker 1: are getting got you know that, I can't resist that,
- 24:50Speaker 1: Like That's just a fun little come up, and so
- 24:53Speaker 1: I'm always gonna be rooting for the underdog and just overall,
- 24:58Speaker 1: how do you dislike that? So okay, oh right, we
- 25:04Speaker 1: jump back to the coliseum for a little while, and
- 25:08Speaker 1: it's like a lot of this is just nothing. We
- 25:10Speaker 1: have so much of Chinjau just being like when do
- 25:13Speaker 1: I get to fight? When is the tournament starting? YadA YadA,
- 25:16Speaker 1: trying to pick a fight with everybody, and once again
- 25:19Speaker 1: his nephews or grandsons or whatever are We're like, dude,
- 25:22Speaker 1: stop it, you're gonna get disqualified, and him being like yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 25:25Speaker 1: you're right, Okay, never mind. And then we have also
- 25:30Speaker 1: like eventually a whole thing with like Loofy. I'm gonna
- 25:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna just kind of talk about a lot of
- 25:40Speaker 1: that right now. But like Cavendish just keeps yelling that
- 25:44Speaker 1: that's loofy. Obviously that's that straw hat, and the way
- 25:51Speaker 1: that everybody in the audience is reacting to him, it's
- 25:54Speaker 1: very clear that it's making things worse in Cavendish's eyes.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Like Lufy is just leaning into so it appears we
- 26:03Speaker 1: know that he's not because he doesn't give a shit
- 26:04Speaker 1: about that stuff, but it seems like he is leaning
- 26:07Speaker 1: into being like a fan favorite. Lufy manages to like
- 26:13Speaker 1: pretty much lay out everybody he comes across, and he
- 26:17Speaker 1: keeps using his rubber powers, and I was like, I
- 26:22Speaker 1: brought this up when he entered. I was like, how
- 26:24Speaker 1: is he going to restrain himself from doing that? And
- 26:28Speaker 1: at the time my thought was that it was because
- 26:31Speaker 1: you can't have a devil fruit power and be in
- 26:34Speaker 1: this contest, which then since had realized like, oh, that's
- 26:37Speaker 1: not a problem at all, actually, but now it's about him,
- 26:42Speaker 1: like his power being so notorious that the moment he
- 26:47Speaker 1: begins to use the rubber power, people figure out who
- 26:50Speaker 1: he is. Now Louviy keeps sort of stopping and being like,
- 26:56Speaker 1: never mind, and then says something like totally normal punch
- 26:59Speaker 1: when he punched somebody, which is genuinely it's very fun
- 27:04Speaker 1: to me. You guys know that when I first started
- 27:07Speaker 1: the series, the fact that everybody just yelled whatever technique
- 27:11Speaker 1: it was they were using right before they used it
- 27:13Speaker 1: felt pretty goofy to me. At this point, I am
- 27:17Speaker 1: quite used to that, but it's way more fun to
- 27:20Speaker 1: have him yell at when it's just a regular punch
- 27:23Speaker 1: and to just say, like a totally normal punch. I
- 27:27Speaker 1: love the idea of, like, if we just were to
- 27:31Speaker 1: watch some like a boxing match today, and if they
- 27:35Speaker 1: just yelled the punch they were about to do every time,
- 27:38Speaker 1: it would be uh an unfair advantage to their adversary,
- 27:43Speaker 1: but it would be very funny in its weird way.
- 27:46Speaker 1: But louviy like, he keeps starting to say gum gum
- 27:50Speaker 1: and then they're like see and he realizes stops himself.
- 27:54Speaker 1: But you've already said gum gum and your arm has
- 27:57Speaker 1: already stretched, and it just it. He feels like by
- 28:02Speaker 1: the end of this, he says, I almost blew my cover,
- 28:05Speaker 1: And I come on, like, he didn't almost blow his cover.
- 28:08Speaker 1: He blew his cover and nobody is like paying attention,
- 28:13Speaker 1: and Cavendish is the one yelling like, is am I
- 28:17Speaker 1: the only sane person here? What the fuck is the
- 28:20Speaker 1: matter with you? Guys? I keep telling you that's loofy.
- 28:23Speaker 1: You can see it's loofy, Like what are you doing?
- 28:27Speaker 1: And nobody is listening to him? And I kind of
- 28:32Speaker 1: I the only reason that I liked. This is because
- 28:37Speaker 1: we are sort of lampshading the fact that everybody should
- 28:42Speaker 1: have figured out that this is loofy by now, with
- 28:44Speaker 1: the fact that Cavendish is so irate at how nobody
- 28:49Speaker 1: is acknowledging it. I do actually like that. But anyway,
- 28:55Speaker 1: so this uh jumps over from a brief interlude where
- 29:02Speaker 1: we are at the contest to Violet and Sanjy and
- 29:06Speaker 1: it turns out that Violet has eaten the Glare Glare fruit.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Now it's very this is the first time that a
- 29:27Speaker 1: power for me has seemed like it wasn't really being utilized.
- 29:35Speaker 1: The way that the author is trying to suggest what
- 29:40Speaker 1: I mean is when we come back to her, you know,
- 29:46Speaker 1: Sanji is all tied up, has just been beaten up,
- 29:50Speaker 1: and Violet says, I've read your every thought from the
- 29:54Speaker 1: moment we met. No one can hide from my all
- 29:58Speaker 1: seeing eyes. And thus she is like alleging, I am
- 30:11Speaker 1: just using you because I know that you are like
- 30:15Speaker 1: not a great guy. But if she were really reading
- 30:19Speaker 1: his mind, don't you think like, we know Sanji and
- 30:24Speaker 1: we know what he's been thinking this whole time, and
- 30:26Speaker 1: it was just like that he is in love with her.
- 30:28Speaker 1: And wants to run away with her and how they
- 30:30Speaker 1: could like live on the run together and he could
- 30:33Speaker 1: be happy with her. Now is that like real? No,
- 30:37Speaker 1: but that's what he was thinking. And so the fact
- 30:41Speaker 1: that she is asserting that she read his mind from
- 30:45Speaker 1: the moment they met doesn't make any sense to me
- 30:50Speaker 1: in light of what we were literally in his head,
- 30:54Speaker 1: like as the audience, we got to see the images
- 30:58Speaker 1: floating across our screen that were floating through his mind.
- 31:02Speaker 1: So why are we pretending that we don't know what
- 31:11Speaker 1: he was thinking? And that anything, she if she were
- 31:14Speaker 1: reading his mind, she should never have betrayed him. She
- 31:17Speaker 1: would have realized that he was actually sincere before this.
- 31:24Speaker 1: The whole way that this goes down is just it
- 31:26Speaker 1: doesn't make any sense to me, And if anybody has
- 31:30Speaker 1: an explanation for it, I am open to it, because, like, overall,
- 31:35Speaker 1: I am pretty into the plot line here. Like, I
- 31:40Speaker 1: love the fact that he fell for this girl right away.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I love the fact that she thought that like she
- 31:51Speaker 1: could play him and it turns out he is totally sincere.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I love the fact that all of the guys on
- 31:56Speaker 1: her side of things really thought that, like they were
- 32:01Speaker 1: going to see another chump get got because they didn't
- 32:03Speaker 1: understand how fully invested Sonjy was. There's there's a lot
- 32:08Speaker 1: of this that in a vacuum. I think is a
- 32:13Speaker 1: great idea, it's just the execution of it doesn't really
- 32:17Speaker 1: work for me. So she starts off saying I heard
- 32:21Speaker 1: you had a soft spot for women, but I didn't
- 32:24Speaker 1: expect it to be that soft. We had a close
- 32:26Speaker 1: up of her legs as she crosses her legs. I
- 32:29Speaker 1: almost pity you. You're nothing but a failure. And how
- 32:34Speaker 1: could you ever think that you could a worm like
- 32:37Speaker 1: you could get the heart of a woman like me.
- 32:41Speaker 1: You're such a joke. How did you not know it
- 32:45Speaker 1: was a trap? And Soanji says, Violet, tell me it's
- 32:50Speaker 1: not true. You wouldn't do this, And when he says that,
- 32:53Speaker 1: she kind of gasps in response. And then it like
- 32:59Speaker 1: that was the first moment that I realize, Oh okay,
- 33:01Speaker 1: I think I see what we're doing here. Is like
- 33:04Speaker 1: he's going to keep on saying our love was real
- 33:07Speaker 1: and she is not ready for that, which is basically
- 33:09Speaker 1: what happens. But he yells to her, deep down, you
- 33:14Speaker 1: have a great and beautiful heart. I can tell, and
- 33:18Speaker 1: she gets up and comes over and says, how could
- 33:20Speaker 1: you say such a thing after all this, and has
- 33:25Speaker 1: him pulled to his feet, and she says, someone must
- 33:29Speaker 1: have put you or no, he says, someone must have
- 33:31Speaker 1: put you up to this. You don't want to be
- 33:32Speaker 1: a part of it? Do you violate? And she says,
- 33:35Speaker 1: you'd think that you still think this is some kind
- 33:37Speaker 1: of love story, Give me a break, and she kicks
- 33:41Speaker 1: him in the face, which, honestly, considering that his whole
- 33:45Speaker 1: thing is kicking, I kind of loved that she just
- 33:47Speaker 1: decided to serve him up some of his own shit.
- 33:52Speaker 1: So he's on the floor and she says, then you're
- 33:54Speaker 1: only pretending to care about me when really you're looking
- 33:57Speaker 1: for a chance to escape. And again, I'm like, you're
- 34:04Speaker 1: saying this so certainly, but you haven't actually read his
- 34:07Speaker 1: mind just now, you're just saying it. So why do
- 34:10Speaker 1: we have the mind reading thing when she's not using it?
- 34:16Speaker 1: And then do you honestly think you can fool me
- 34:18Speaker 1: with your lies? I ate the glare glare fruit. Thanks
- 34:23Speaker 1: to that, I've become quite observant. I can see through
- 34:28Speaker 1: anything now, and you men are all liars. And she
- 34:35Speaker 1: holds her fingers up in that like just putting an
- 34:37Speaker 1: o to her eye and slowly pans across each of
- 34:43Speaker 1: the men that are standing in front of her, and
- 34:46Speaker 1: we see them each like there's like a literal image
- 34:50Speaker 1: at their heart that indicates what they prize the most,
- 34:54Speaker 1: I guess, and what their priority is. So one guy
- 34:57Speaker 1: is like up to his waist and treasure. There's another
- 34:59Speaker 1: guy who as this beautiful woman, another dude who's got
- 35:02Speaker 1: tons of booze, another guy who has like money that's
- 35:05Speaker 1: falling from wherever I'm trying to see. There's one more
- 35:09Speaker 1: that's like just barely out of frame, and I do
- 35:12Speaker 1: kind of want to see what that one was. I'm
- 35:13Speaker 1: trying to catch it before it goes away. I think
- 35:17Speaker 1: it might have been food, but it's unclear. It's too quick.
- 35:21Speaker 1: So she holds her fingers over him and says, let
- 35:23Speaker 1: me see inside your mind, not that it'll be worth
- 35:26Speaker 1: a damn, and she begins to read his mind, and
- 35:31Speaker 1: we get like the really quick sort of flashes of
- 35:35Speaker 1: a lot of the bigger parts of the plot and everything,
- 35:39Speaker 1: and then says, well, we'll figure out all of like
- 35:44Speaker 1: the reasons why you joined up with your foulger law,
- 35:48Speaker 1: and she looks at him. Her men are like so
- 35:51Speaker 1: excited about her doing this, and uses peeping mind. So
- 35:57Speaker 1: we see the crew, we see your algar La, all
- 36:01Speaker 1: of his friends, and then we get this like pink
- 36:07Speaker 1: background and all of these silhouettes of sexy women, and
- 36:15Speaker 1: she screams, and then she says, so dirty. His mind
- 36:25Speaker 1: is totally pink. I've never seen anything like it. And
- 36:34Speaker 1: I've got to admit, guys, this has to be a
- 36:37Speaker 1: translation thing, right, His mind is totally pink. I like,
- 36:43Speaker 1: it feels like it must mean something, and you know,
- 36:48Speaker 1: I'm assuming that this is all just his He's just
- 36:51Speaker 1: so lustful because she follows it up right away with
- 36:54Speaker 1: so dirty. But it's just such a weird way to
- 36:57Speaker 1: say that. And then she says, what's your purpose here?
- 37:02Speaker 1: What could you possibly be thinking about at a time
- 37:05Speaker 1: like this? I can't begin to fathom. I don't understand
- 37:10Speaker 1: how she can say that when she's literally just read
- 37:12Speaker 1: his mind. What do you mean you can't fathom? I
- 37:17Speaker 1: thought that was the whole thing that you just did.
- 37:20Speaker 1: You just read his mind? Do you know what I'm saying?
- 37:26Speaker 1: Like it just feels like I'm assuming this whole time
- 37:29Speaker 1: as I'm relating this all of you, that all of
- 37:32Speaker 1: this is a translation problem. And then actually, if I
- 37:37Speaker 1: were to like watch the sub I would understand what
- 37:41Speaker 1: they're really getting at here. But it just feels like
- 37:45Speaker 1: we're saying on the one hand that she reads minds,
- 37:48Speaker 1: but then she hasn't and doesn't know that he's sincere.
- 37:52Speaker 1: But then she does it and realizes that he's like
- 37:55Speaker 1: a pervert. But then she doesn't and is like, well,
- 37:58Speaker 1: what are you what is it that you're even after
- 38:00Speaker 1: and what do you want? And so then he has
- 38:02Speaker 1: to like explain to her I'm thinking of you, and
- 38:06Speaker 1: she's taken aback and seems to not get it, and
- 38:10Speaker 1: he says about the way you looked at me, and
- 38:16Speaker 1: that takes her by surprise. I don't understand how her
- 38:20Speaker 1: power works. If she doesn't see what's happening here, what
- 38:25Speaker 1: is it that she even does? It just doesn't make
- 38:30Speaker 1: any sense to me. You guys, I don't get what
- 38:32Speaker 1: we're doing here. It feels like we told the things
- 38:36Speaker 1: out of order. It's like the scenes got put in
- 38:39Speaker 1: a bag and shaken up and poured out, and everything
- 38:42Speaker 1: kind of happened in the wrong order. So her her
- 38:48Speaker 1: men are surrounding her, him and her and saying like,
- 38:54Speaker 1: you got to get to like come to terms with
- 38:56Speaker 1: the fact that you got played. She pulled one over
- 38:58Speaker 1: on you, and that's all there is to it. And
- 39:02Speaker 1: she is like clearly moved by what he said and
- 39:07Speaker 1: is sitting there like crying, kind of deciding what it
- 39:11Speaker 1: is that she's going to do. And one of the
- 39:13Speaker 1: men says, if you don't want to deal with him,
- 39:15Speaker 1: we'll take care of him for you, and when she
- 39:18Speaker 1: doesn't respond, they take that as a yes, and they
- 39:21Speaker 1: start to come forward and attack, and she says, she
- 39:26Speaker 1: turns around and uses her ability. I don't remember what
- 39:30Speaker 1: it's called whale tear. She calls it hero lagrima in
- 39:36Speaker 1: the eye whale, that's what it is. Yeah, And I
- 39:41Speaker 1: was just sort of like, if you had only actually
- 39:44Speaker 1: communicated with him, you wouldn't need to do this in
- 39:48Speaker 1: order to stop them. Also, I cannot help but laugh
- 39:53Speaker 1: at the fact that, like Sanja keeps saying, a woman's
- 39:56Speaker 1: tears are all the proof I need and she can
- 40:03Speaker 1: use her tears as an actual weapon. Like guys, it's
- 40:08Speaker 1: a very it feels very pointed because for those who
- 40:14Speaker 1: aren't aware, people of color often talk about the weaponization
- 40:20Speaker 1: of white women's tears. It is a very well documented
- 40:26Speaker 1: phenomenon and it's really gross when you see it in action.
- 40:32Speaker 1: I have personally seen this happen with a member of
- 40:35Speaker 1: the unspoiled community actually, who decided that they were going
- 40:40Speaker 1: to use them their tears and pretend they were a victim,
- 40:44Speaker 1: and a lot of people believed them, And it was
- 40:47Speaker 1: honestly so sad to watch how effective it was for
- 40:53Speaker 1: this person to do this, and this woman actually having
- 41:00Speaker 1: tears that turn into physical weapons. Is It's like, I
- 41:07Speaker 1: wish that this were being done with the consciousness of
- 41:11Speaker 1: the white women's tears thing, Like, I think this is
- 41:14Speaker 1: kind of amazing in terms of being a literal analogy, metaphor.
- 41:21Speaker 1: I'm not even sure the word I want here, but
- 41:24Speaker 1: I know that it isn't and so a part of
- 41:29Speaker 1: me is kind of grossed out by it, do you
- 41:31Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So I'm very torn on this.
- 41:35Speaker 1: There's a part of me that thinks that this is genius,
- 41:37Speaker 1: and yeah, another part of me that is sort of like, ooh,
- 41:40Speaker 1: but I don't know. So her tears like they're pouring
- 41:45Speaker 1: out of her eyes and they become whale shaped and
- 41:51Speaker 1: become the size of whales and also turn bright red
- 41:56Speaker 1: like they are super heated. And then she like pinches
- 42:01Speaker 1: them at the end so that they are released from
- 42:03Speaker 1: her eyes and they just go flying after these men,
- 42:08Speaker 1: and it seems like crash into them, and that's kind
- 42:11Speaker 1: of all they do, is just like pound them into
- 42:15Speaker 1: the ground. If I'm not mistaken, I might be missing
- 42:18Speaker 1: something else, but it seems like it's basically just there's
- 42:21Speaker 1: sheer masks and weight of them landing on these guys
- 42:24Speaker 1: and knocking them out. So this is when she releases
- 42:31Speaker 1: Sanjy from his what do you columns? Oh my god
- 42:38Speaker 1: handcuffs and is like, so you didn't want to work
- 42:41Speaker 1: for do Flamingo, right? I was right all along? And
- 42:46Speaker 1: she tells him you have to forget me and get
- 42:48Speaker 1: the hell away from here, and he's like, don't say that.
- 42:51Speaker 1: How can I just leave you here? And she says,
- 42:55Speaker 1: because there's no way your plan will work. You're walking
- 42:58Speaker 1: straight into a trap, and you were trying to protect
- 43:03Speaker 1: one of your own enemies. You're hopeless. I don't know
- 43:08Speaker 1: why you believed in me. And then she makes eye
- 43:13Speaker 1: contact with him and is like, let me show you
- 43:15Speaker 1: what's going on here. And it's really fun to me
- 43:22Speaker 1: that we have this means of communicating, because I've always
- 43:26Speaker 1: been sort of a fan. Anytime that this is one
- 43:31Speaker 1: of those things that when I stop and think about it,
- 43:32Speaker 1: I'm like, this probably comes from that like neurodivergent part
- 43:36Speaker 1: of me that is extremely afraid of being misunderstood. I
- 43:40Speaker 1: am a person who wants to over explain everything, and
- 43:46Speaker 1: my father, when I was crowing up, always interpreted me
- 43:49Speaker 1: attempting to explain things as arguing or excuses, and like,
- 43:54Speaker 1: maybe that's some of it, but I also just deeply
- 43:57Speaker 1: want to give somebody every piece of information that they need,
- 44:02Speaker 1: because I think that context really matters. So I want
- 44:07Speaker 1: to describe them like as much as I can, and
- 44:12Speaker 1: that way, it feels like they're coming into things with
- 44:14Speaker 1: all the information and they can make a judgment and
- 44:18Speaker 1: understand why I made the judgment that I made. And
- 44:21Speaker 1: so anytime that I run into a character in fiction
- 44:25Speaker 1: who's got this sort of power where they can just
- 44:27Speaker 1: show you what happened without having to use words, it's
- 44:33Speaker 1: like such a relief, you know. This is something also
- 44:36Speaker 1: in the Ray Bearer story, she is able to see
- 44:39Speaker 1: what has happened to people or show them things that
- 44:42Speaker 1: have happened to her via touch, and it just it's
- 44:46Speaker 1: also a much more interesting storytelling device as well, like
- 44:49Speaker 1: not having to just rely on an info dump and
- 44:52Speaker 1: a monologue. Not that that really applies here because we
- 44:58Speaker 1: don't actually see what it is that she shows Sangy.
- 45:02Speaker 1: She just holds his face and says, gaze into my mind.
- 45:06Speaker 1: You're going to see that everything is going according to
- 45:09Speaker 1: do Flamingo's plan. And she does her like fingers around
- 45:15Speaker 1: his eye, and that way he is able to like
- 45:19Speaker 1: get the history of things. Here's my memory from dress
- 45:22Speaker 1: Rosa this morning. And he says it can't be and
- 45:26Speaker 1: we get a lot of like little bits of you know,
- 45:30Speaker 1: something that he's seeing some kind of image, and then
- 45:34Speaker 1: he says this is bad, which combined with what's going
- 45:36Speaker 1: on with Zorro, we've got a bunch of people working
- 45:38Speaker 1: with pieces of information. So I want to jump over
- 45:43Speaker 1: really briefly over to Frankie because I guys, I just
- 45:49Speaker 1: really don't understand why we have this toy that Frankie
- 45:56Speaker 1: is talking with say you need to learn the history
- 45:59Speaker 1: of Rosa in this dramatic fashion. End the episode on
- 46:03Speaker 1: that and we have still not gotten that history. This
- 46:08Speaker 1: is so bizarre the way that they set this up.
- 46:12Speaker 1: It's like, so we come back to him and he's
- 46:15Speaker 1: like fading into view and he says, until the day
- 46:20Speaker 1: your heart is filled with happiness once more, I will
- 46:24Speaker 1: always be by your side, and just like a falling
- 46:28Speaker 1: flower pedal. And I thought we were doing a sort
- 46:33Speaker 1: of similar thing that we had just done with Zorro,
- 46:35Speaker 1: where we're coming in on the end of a story
- 46:38Speaker 1: and we're going to eventually get filled in on what
- 46:42Speaker 1: the rest of the story is, but we're just seeing
- 46:45Speaker 1: like the romantic, tragic end of it. But then it
- 46:49Speaker 1: fades out and it's actually focused on this girl that's
- 46:53Speaker 1: going to be fighting in the tournament, Rebecca, and she
- 47:00Speaker 1: says to herself that dream and I'm like, so wait,
- 47:08Speaker 1: we're not even coming back in on their conversation. He
- 47:11Speaker 1: says this thing to Frankie about how like you need
- 47:14Speaker 1: to learn this history, and then we just depart and
- 47:19Speaker 1: it's just such a strange what why are we handling
- 47:24Speaker 1: things this way? And when she turns and looks at
- 47:30Speaker 1: the window, eventually she sees him and it seems like
- 47:34Speaker 1: her and this toy soldier are in love with each other.
- 47:38Speaker 1: You guys, I do not know what to think about
- 47:43Speaker 1: these two, Like, I am deeply uncomfortable with this humans
- 47:51Speaker 1: and toys having sexual relationships story. It's so weird and
- 47:57Speaker 1: uncomfortable and I do not like it. Also, this soldier
- 48:00Speaker 1: seems very short, and it may just be that in
- 48:02Speaker 1: comparison with Frankie, who is giant, maybe he's the exact
- 48:07Speaker 1: right size for her, but it gives him the appearance
- 48:09Speaker 1: of being like a child, and I just the whole
- 48:13Speaker 1: dynamic here feels really really creepy, like she has a
- 48:19Speaker 1: flashback to her being a child herself, and it looks
- 48:26Speaker 1: like he is the same height as her in the memory.
- 48:32Speaker 1: So then we hear Frankie and he's like, are you
- 48:35Speaker 1: gonna tell me about this flower field place? And the
- 48:38Speaker 1: toy soldiers just keep running you'll find out soon enough,
- 48:41Speaker 1: and I was just like, oh my god, come on.
- 48:45Speaker 1: So they're passing under her window and she yells down
- 48:52Speaker 1: and is like soldier, which, uh, he doesn't have a name.
- 48:58Speaker 1: I guess that sucks, but yeah, he looks up and
- 49:02Speaker 1: she's crying, and it's just like I entered the tournament
- 49:07Speaker 1: because I'm gonna win, and I just want the two
- 49:11Speaker 1: of us to be together, and he says, if you
- 49:15Speaker 1: cry this easily, how can you expect to win, which
- 49:18Speaker 1: is cold blooded honestly, And then it's just like, come on,
- 49:24Speaker 1: let's hurry up, and Frank is like, are you sure, okay?
- 49:28Speaker 1: And they just keep going, and I was like, that
- 49:30Speaker 1: was such a bizarre interaction, like are we supposed to
- 49:34Speaker 1: think that there's this tragic love story between the two
- 49:36Speaker 1: of them. I just cannot care about that. I just
- 49:39Speaker 1: just for the record, guys, this is going to not
- 49:42Speaker 1: interest me at all, I think, and it's gonna be
- 49:44Speaker 1: tragic anyway. Yeah, the tragedy will be how little I
- 49:48Speaker 1: give a shit. So we jump back to Oosap and
- 49:52Speaker 1: Robin and the two of them get gassed by the
- 49:57Speaker 1: fairies who are using some kind of like flower and
- 50:01Speaker 1: esthetic I think is what they call it to hit
- 50:04Speaker 1: the two of them, and the fairies are gathered around them,
- 50:10Speaker 1: and it's weird because like they're saying, we must eliminate them.
- 50:14Speaker 1: But later on, I don't know what's going on with Oosop.
- 50:18Speaker 1: It seems like they have only tied her down and
- 50:21Speaker 1: it is the most like fetishy thing I have ever seen,
- 50:25Speaker 1: so first of all, she is tied down. Secondly, these
- 50:33Speaker 1: creatures are like climbing all over her and are very
- 50:38Speaker 1: much like under her clothing, climbing over her boobs. And
- 50:42Speaker 1: it just was y'all, know, especially like the sounds that
- 50:47Speaker 1: she's making because she's sort of like coming back to
- 50:50Speaker 1: consciousness and it's very sexual sounding. The whole thing is
- 50:55Speaker 1: just so incredibly creepy, and it looks fully like there's
- 51:00Speaker 1: somebody's hand under her shirt. But then they climb out
- 51:04Speaker 1: and it's like a person. So she screams when she
- 51:08Speaker 1: wakes up. They all scream in response, and then you
- 51:12Speaker 1: get to see the fact that she's like sewn to
- 51:14Speaker 1: the ground because one of them has like a weird
- 51:17Speaker 1: stitch power, and we have this interaction that I cannot
- 51:24Speaker 1: figure out. So they're talking to her about how like,
- 51:28Speaker 1: you don't hurt yourself by moving because you're stitch down
- 51:33Speaker 1: pretty snug with the stitch to power, so you're not
- 51:35Speaker 1: going anywhere. I'm assuming because it's a double word stitch
- 51:39Speaker 1: stitch that this was a double fruit and it's interesting
- 51:45Speaker 1: to me, like a fairy eating a double fruit power.
- 51:46Speaker 1: I kind of like this, but once someone gets a
- 51:49Speaker 1: taste in my trusty needle. They can't move an inch.
- 51:51Speaker 1: You people were up to no good again, weren't you?
- 51:54Speaker 1: And she tries to say, I'm not your enemy. I
- 51:57Speaker 1: don't even know who you are. And he says I'm
- 52:01Speaker 1: Leo of the Tanata tribe, a warrior, and she's like, okay,
- 52:06Speaker 1: well where are we and where's Oosop and realizes that
- 52:13Speaker 1: he isn't here. Is he all right, your tall friend
- 52:18Speaker 1: with the long nose? You mean we captured him too,
- 52:21Speaker 1: in accordance with our kingdom's rules. Okay, so they did
- 52:26Speaker 1: get him. I could not remember exactly how that went down.
- 52:30Speaker 1: This place is known as the Tanata Kingdom, and it's underground.
- 52:36Speaker 1: It lies under the great forest, which we made with
- 52:38Speaker 1: our own hands. So you grow those giant plants, the
- 52:44Speaker 1: ones that cover the whole island. That's right. There's no
- 52:47Speaker 1: plant great or small the Tanata can't grow. And this
- 52:53Speaker 1: is the thing where she starts arguing with him and
- 52:59Speaker 1: says like, I'm not going to hurt you, and they
- 53:02Speaker 1: don't believe her until finally she says I mean it.
- 53:07Speaker 1: And immediately as soon as she says but I mean it,
- 53:12Speaker 1: they stop say, okay, and then unstitch her and everybody
- 53:19Speaker 1: is like, wow, what a relief, because apparently they did
- 53:23Speaker 1: not want to kill her. This was not something that
- 53:26Speaker 1: they like were excited about doing. They just thought they
- 53:29Speaker 1: had to do it. And Robin is left sitting there like, wait,
- 53:33Speaker 1: that's it? Like it how what? So I'm a little
- 53:37Speaker 1: confused because it's not long before they're yelling at her again,
- 53:41Speaker 1: and one of them eventually, when us up comes back around,
- 53:46Speaker 1: they say something like he said, he means it. And
- 53:48Speaker 1: I was like, is that just like the magic word?
- 53:51Speaker 1: If you say you mean it, then they believe you.
- 53:55Speaker 1: It's like, you know, I don't know. Uh, she said
- 54:00Speaker 1: she means it, so it's true, right, Okay, then works
- 54:04Speaker 1: for me. That's right. They say this to the leader
- 54:07Speaker 1: and Robin is like, this is wild. This is how
- 54:11Speaker 1: they work. So their leader comes forward and is just
- 54:14Speaker 1: like we don't get to see a big person close up,
- 54:17Speaker 1: so just saying hi, I'm the chief gun show and
- 54:23Speaker 1: you can stay down here as long as you like.
- 54:27Speaker 1: They offer her food and everything, and eventually when she
- 54:33Speaker 1: gets in touch with like I think Law is the
- 54:36Speaker 1: person that she calls. She explains that they are underground,
- 54:39Speaker 1: but It's very adorable how they're having like these tiny
- 54:43Speaker 1: little lunches and tea parties, and they keep offering her
- 54:46Speaker 1: these huge serving bowls, which for her are just like
- 54:48Speaker 1: a little thimbleful of food. I'm trying to find, Oh, yeah,
- 54:55Speaker 1: the transponder snail. It has been released into the wild.
- 55:01Speaker 1: And we see that there's like a piece of metal
- 55:06Speaker 1: on the ground in front of him, So I'm assuming
- 55:08Speaker 1: that basically they for to make a transponder snail, they
- 55:12Speaker 1: like install something into the snail and it's been undone.
- 55:18Speaker 1: This transponder snail looks really happy, And now I'm kind
- 55:22Speaker 1: of upset, guys at the notion that are all transponder
- 55:27Speaker 1: snails like unwilling slaves that have been genetically altered or
- 55:31Speaker 1: something like. I don't like this idea at all. I
- 55:35Speaker 1: was very much into the idea of transponder snails as
- 55:39Speaker 1: a means of communication, just for the novelty and it's fun.
- 55:43Speaker 1: But now I'm just sort of like, wait, is there
- 55:44Speaker 1: something sort of terrible happening here? But she's looking at
- 55:49Speaker 1: her clock and she's like, oh my god, I have
- 55:52Speaker 1: to figure out how to get out of here so
- 55:54Speaker 1: I can talk to Law and This is when he's,
- 55:57Speaker 1: wait a second, you can't be leaving already here. I
- 56:00Speaker 1: thought you were nice if you leave and hand over
- 56:02Speaker 1: your weapon, and she's like, I don't have a weapon,
- 56:06Speaker 1: and they argue again until Leo says, then you leave
- 56:09Speaker 1: me no choice, and Leo says, we're gonna bleed you dry,
- 56:17Speaker 1: take it all, and they like jump up and take
- 56:22Speaker 1: all of her possessions. It's like a really weird way
- 56:27Speaker 1: to say this. The whole interaction, you guys, it's back
- 56:32Speaker 1: and forth so much. I don't know what the vibe
- 56:36Speaker 1: is at all, Like it feels as if they're saying,
- 56:40Speaker 1: we're going to hurt you. But then when they just
- 56:42Speaker 1: take her sunglasses, Initially I think bleed you dry just
- 56:45Speaker 1: means like we're gonna strip you of all your possessions.
- 56:49Speaker 1: But it's still such an aggressive way to say it.
- 56:52Speaker 1: And I assume that had she said I don't have
- 56:55Speaker 1: a weapon, I mean it, that would have solved the problem.
- 56:58Speaker 1: But she doesn't seem to have caught on that. That's
- 57:00Speaker 1: like the magic words, I guess. And finally another one
- 57:05Speaker 1: of the fairies runs up and is like, her friend
- 57:08Speaker 1: is our greatest hero. You can't hurt her the person
- 57:12Speaker 1: with the long nose told me, and he said he
- 57:15Speaker 1: meant it too. He's a legendary hero come to save
- 57:18Speaker 1: us at last. Finally, finally, our hero came when we
- 57:24Speaker 1: needed him most. And I think they're talking about Louviy.
- 57:29Speaker 1: I don't know what is going on here, but yeah,
- 57:33Speaker 1: Robin is just kind of like, wait, us up, what
- 57:37Speaker 1: did you say to them? Like, I don't think she
- 57:40Speaker 1: seems to believe that they are correct. She's just assuming
- 57:42Speaker 1: that us Up came up with some sort of story, which,
- 57:46Speaker 1: like he's a giant liar. That makes sense. So maybe
- 57:50Speaker 1: it's more likely that he just made up some shit
- 57:53Speaker 1: than it is that they got this right. I don't
- 57:56Speaker 1: know anyway. So this is when we have the final
- 58:01Speaker 1: scene out on the beach, the transponder snail starts ringing.
- 58:06Speaker 1: I don't know if she had like a second snail.
- 58:08Speaker 1: I think she must have had. But oh no, no, no,
- 58:12Speaker 1: Sanji's the one calling law here. That's right, I'm sorry,
- 58:15Speaker 1: And Sanji's yelling to him, you've got to get out
- 58:18Speaker 1: of there. It's a trap. The factory is the least
- 58:20Speaker 1: of our concerns right now. And just as he is
- 58:24Speaker 1: saying this, Oh my god, you guys, I'm making sure
- 58:28Speaker 1: that I got to the right Did I get to
- 58:30Speaker 1: the right episode here? Yes? Okay, we have the revelation
- 58:36Speaker 1: that Do Flamingo did not actually like resign his position.
- 58:43Speaker 1: They just circulated the rumor that he had resigned so
- 58:48Speaker 1: that they could lure Law out. And actually this makes
- 58:55Speaker 1: so much sense, and it is kind of funny that
- 58:57Speaker 1: Law didn't foresee that he could work with the Marines
- 59:02Speaker 1: and do this and circulate this misinformation. Eventually, Law is like, well,
- 59:09Speaker 1: then it has to be the celestial dragons that you're
- 59:12Speaker 1: working with, and he says, as if it's like this
- 59:14Speaker 1: giant revelation. I'm like, you knew that he worked with
- 59:17Speaker 1: the most powerful people, Like, that's the point of what
- 59:19Speaker 1: you're doing. So the fact that you were not prepared
- 59:25Speaker 1: for this eventuality in him being able to trick you
- 59:27Speaker 1: is actually kind of sad, Like I didn't expect him
- 59:32Speaker 1: to do it, and when he did it, I took
- 59:34Speaker 1: it seriously. But really Law should have been thinking ahead
- 59:39Speaker 1: a little bit more. And I'm trying to like jump
- 59:47Speaker 1: ahead here because there's a lot of filler of like
- 59:50Speaker 1: the whole thing with the the CP zero guys, I
- 59:54Speaker 1: think is what they're This group is called like informing
- 59:57Speaker 1: everybody that the information in the newspaper was incorrect. And
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: then the pirates that are chasing Sanjy and Violet and
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Robin uses like that her ability to make a clone
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: of herself so that she can go up and talk
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: to him on the surface. I forgot that's the way
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: that she does this, which is actually really fun, and
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: I wish that she had used this power more because
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: this is a really efficient way of communicating. So, yeah,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: he is yelling about how like the deal is going
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: to be off if what he's saying about Do Flamingo
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: is true. But it's just too fucking late, man, You
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: only have like minutes left, and Do Flamingo is already here,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: so they're about to turn around and run off, and
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: it's like, Bud, we're literally on an island. She is
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: underground with Oosop, like what do you think is going
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: to happen here? And she's like, if you're gonna escape,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: you're gonna have to do it without us. We'll just
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: catch up with you when we are able too. This
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: is when Fuji Toura shows up. I forgot that he
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: is also here. This whole thing is so like, there
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: are so many people involved, and I have honestly sort
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: of like lost the thread a little bit at this point.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: I love when Caesar celebrates because Joker is here. He
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: just really assumes that this guy is gonna save his ass.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Let's say, I'm trying to find the spot where must
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: have taken an effort to get an actual Navy admiral
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: to show up, and since I'm no longer a war lord,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: I'm really shaking in my boots. But he's a liar haa.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: So let's see, I'm trying to make sure that I
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: didn't miss anything because like pretty much the rest of
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: this episode is like taken up with the the Colisseum stuff,
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: and I talked about all of that already. Uh yeah,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: that's basically it. It's like tons of posturing. The third
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: of these three episodes really has like very little going
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: on in total. It's just people relating to one another
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: the things that we have already started to figure out.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: So all right, everybody, I am going to wrap this
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: one up, but I'm engaged in the story, so I'm
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: eager to see where we go with this, and I
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: just I want some explanations for some of the weirdness
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: that's going on with Sanchis story, and if you have them,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: let me know. All right, everybody, thank you so much
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: for listening. Appreciate you all. Until next time to the
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Loo motherfuckers. That was an unspoiled Network podcast.
