- Brandon: Well, welcome once again to another episode of the Daily Word Podcast. My goodness, it is so good to be able to be hanging out with you today, whoever you are and wherever you are listening from. I'm telling you, I just love the Bible. Hopefully, that's the reason you're listening to this podcast because you love the Bible as much as we love the Bible. There's just something about God's word. I was recently sitting with a group of guys, we were reading the Bible together. And man, God was just speaking to me. He was kicking my butt, if you will, in a couple areas that I just needed to be challenged. And I just under my breath at this coffee shop, reading the Bible to a bunch of guys, I just said, Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord, for your word. Thank you for your word. I'm so thankful that God has given us his word, so thankful that it speaks to us in real time. And that little by little, God's commitment to us is that if we will give ourselves to his word, that little by little he's gonna change us, transform us, and equip us with everything we need to be and do everything God's called us to. that being said, Daily Word Podcast, if it's your first time joining us, we're just taking time to share with you from our daily Bible reading and journaling. been doing the same Bible reading plan personally since like 2003. Four, two thousand five, you know, kind of close to or a little over 20 years now. And I love this Bible reading plan. I love this way of journaling, writing down scripture, observation, application, prayer has literally changed my life. And we're just taking time every day to share with you from the New Testament portion of the life journal reading plan and hopefully to encourage you and also remind you that God wants to speak to you. That being said, today, September the 24th, September the 24th, Luke chapter 7 is the reading. And I want to share with you from verses 7. Well, let's just go verse 7, and then let's go verse 9. We'll just, for time's sake, skip over verse 8. Not that it's not important, but you get it. verse 7, it says, Therefore, I did not even think myself worthy to come to you. But say the word. Say the word, and my servant will be. Healed. Here's the story. This man, this century, this centurion, he comes to Jesus and says, Jesus, my my servant is sick. they need to get healed. And Jesus says, Okay, I'll come right now. And he goes, No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I I don't even feel worthy for you to come to my house. But here's what I know: I know there's power in your word. And I know spiritual authority is real, and I know that everything is spiritual. And here's what I know: if you will just say the word, if you'll just say the word, then my servant will be healed. Say the word, and my servant will be healed. You don't gotta come to my house, just say the word. In verse nine, it says this: Jesus, when he heard these things, he marveled at him and turned around and said to the crowd that followed him, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel. Verse 10, and those who were sent returned to the house found the servant well who had been sick. This is faith. This is faith. My observation: this is faith. That faith is confidence and trust in who God is and what God has said. Numbers 23:19, God says, I'm not a man that I should lie. I'm not like you that I need to repent or change my mind. No, if I've said it, I'm committed to do it. And Jesus said, even in the house of Israel, see, the centurion wasn't part of God's people, wasn't part of Israel. We're now Israel that were, you know, we're now all part of Israel that were in Christ, but here before Jesus had had died and had was resurrected, it was different. He goes, Not even amongst my people. Have I experienced this kind of faith? Faith that says, I don't need you to come, I just need you to speak because I believe in the power and authority of your word. Jesus goes, Wow, this is this is great faith. This is faith. Trusting and believing in who God says He is and everything that God has said. In Christ Jesus. That every promise God has made, it's yes. Hey, hey, do you think that God wants for us to be healed? Yes. Do you think God wants to provide for my needs? Yes. Do you think God wants to give me wisdom, comfort, and counsel? Yes. Like all of God's promises, they're already yes. Why? Because God said it. And God's not a man that he should lie, and he's not like us, that he changes his mind. No, God, when he said it and what he has said, he's committed to it. The Bible says all of God's promises are yes, and we add the agreement, Amen, Amen just means so be it. They're yes, and we go, I believe it, so be it. And all of God's promises, they're yes, and they're received or accessed by us saying, God, I believe your word and so be it. My application is that we need to have faith like this man had faith. We can't always see it, it doesn't always make sense. We rarely know how it's gonna all work out, but here's what we know: God is faithful to his word. And if I have the word of God, it's enough for me to believe God and for me to stand on that word. And so faith is believing who God is and believing with confidence everything God has said. How do I grow in my faith? Well, Romans 10:17 would say that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So the more time I spend with God. And the more I ask God to speak to me and and by his spirit talk to me, the more it builds my faith up. And so my my application for you and really the response is let's commit ourselves to grow in our faith. Let's commit ourselves to stop being so tossed to and fro by what we can see and feel and hear, the circumstances. Now let's not be driven by the circumstances of life. Let's be anchored, rock solid. On the word of God. Why? Because God is not a man that he should lie. He's not like us that he changed his mind. If he said it, he will do it. If he spoke it, he's committed to it. And like this centurion, we can have great faith to go, here's what I know. I don't need to see it, hear it, feel it, or even understand it. Simply say the word, and my servant will be healed. Well, we have the advantage because we have the word of God. And we can say, I don't need to see it, hear it, feel it, expert, you said it in your word, so yes and amen, I know that it shall come to pass. That's faith. Faith is believing in our heart, confessing with our mouth, living according to this is what God said. It's truth. And so I receive it and I'm standing on it. What what are you walking through today? Do you need God to provide for your needs? Well, the Bible says, Ask and you shall receive. D do you need healing? The Bible says, by his stripes we are healed. Do you need wisdom? The Bible says, let it let him let anyone who needs wisdom, let him ask of God and he will receive wisdom. Do you need peace? The Bible says Jesus has gifted us peace beyond all understanding. Do you need comfort? Do you need counsel? The Spirit of God gives us What what do you need today? Can I challenge you just right now, just stop? Maybe even pause the podcast, make a list. What do I need today? What are the things I'm stressed about? What are the things I'm worried about? What do I need today? Because there's a word for that. There's a word for that. There's a promise in the Bible. There's a word from God that God wants to give you. So like this centurion, you can stand on the word and have faith that causes even Jesus to go, wow. That's faith right there. That's faith. He didn't need me to go to the house. He said, say it and I believe it. would we have that kind of faith? Say it and I believe it. Lord Jesus, I pray for everyone listening, for your people today, God. God, for everyone who is in need of physical healing, everyone who's maybe in need of relational, emotional healing, everyone who's struggling with depression or anxiety today. Everyone who's suffering loss from grief, just just just they're they're tore up on the inside. Those who need financial provision, those who need comfort or count. God, whatever their need, I pray for them today, whatever their needs are. And I pray that Holy Spirit, the one who leads and guides into all truth, you would lead them into the truth of your word, remind them of your faithfulness, and give them the ability by your spirit to in faith stand on your word. Say it, and it shall be done. That that's our confession, God. That if you said it, it is reality. We stand on it. We receive it in the name of Jesus. Well, hey, today I hope you were blessed by God's word, and I hope you're leaving today more stirred up to be a man or a woman of faith. We love you so much. We'll see you tomorrow on another episode of the Daily Word Podcast.
