Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Fierazzo.
- 0:19Hello, friends, and thank you so much for tuning in and for sharing the podcast.
- 0:24I want to get right down to it, and I've got the list in front of me here of the people
- 0:28that have been calling or donating from different states across the country.
- 0:32I just want to shout out to Maryland.
- 0:35That's one of our more recent ones we heard from Maryland, Ohio, California, Wisconsin,
- 0:41Wyoming, Washington, New York, Georgia, Nebraska, South Dakota, South Carolina, Minnesota,
- 0:50Virginia, Iowa, New York, Minnesota, I already got that, and New Mexico.
- 0:57So if your state is not in there, come on, I know we have listeners there, hopefully.
- 1:03Anyway, I can't wait to talk about this important subject today, God's prophetic plan for
- 1:09Israel.
- 1:10I want to bring in Mike Jenren.
- 1:11He is with proclaimingthegospal.org.
- 1:15It's a phenomenal website if you like information on sharing the gospel and basically the biblical
- 1:20worldview and why we believe what we believe.
- 1:23He's got a bookstore full of tracks to share a lot of video messages.
- 1:28He's got a great newsletter.
- 1:29That's one of things we're going to be talking about today.
- 1:32And Mike is a former Catholic of many decades years ago, and he does great work across the
- 1:38country.
- 1:39In fact, he's leaving tomorrow to go speak at another event.
- 1:42But Mike Jenren, God bless you, brother, happy New Year, and good to see you.
- 1:46Well, it's good to be back with you.
- 1:48Always enjoy your programs.
- 1:49Well, thank you.
- 1:50Where have you been speaking recently?
- 1:53What have you been doing in your ministry?
- 1:54Well, the Lord has taken us all over the world.
- 1:57It's pretty amazing because there's such a demand now for getting the gospel and presenting
- 2:03it clearly.
- 2:04We're living in the last days.
- 2:06It's obvious from all the prophecy that's being fulfilled.
- 2:10And so there's a great demand for equipping and encouraging the body of Christ to reach
- 2:15out to those who are perishing.
- 2:17And I think more and more people now are recognizing the time is nearer.
- 2:22We need to be about the Lord's business.
- 2:25And I really want to have people check out your website proclaimingthegospel.org because
- 2:30it's so important to have Bible tracks with us in our car, in our case, briefcase, wherever
- 2:37you go, and you can carry some with you in your pocket, hopefully.
- 2:40And you've got a lot of them.
- 2:42How long have you been doing that, Mike, printing some and providing gospel tracks?
- 2:48Well, we've been doing the ministry now 33 years.
- 2:52And we now have eight different gospel tracks.
- 2:55Three of them are also available in Spanish, some in Portuguese, some in Korean.
- 3:01So it's truly amazing the global impact that our ministry has had.
- 3:06All, of course, because of the Lord's providence, and we give him all the glory for what he's
- 3:11done with a couple of broken vessels.
- 3:13But David, I really believe that as we give the gospel verbally, we really need to leave
- 3:19a gospel track behind so people can look at it and written form.
- 3:23And so they won't miss anything that was being said.
- 3:27So our gospel tracks really cover the broad spectrum.
- 3:30Three of them are dedicated to reaching the world's largest and most neglected mission
- 3:35field, Nester Roman Catholic religion.
- 3:38We've got one for all the false converts and Protestant churches.
- 3:41It's called, if they're false hope, how can I be sure?
- 3:45We've got another one entitled, Where Will You Spend Eternity?
- 3:48And that's an easy one to give away because everybody knows they're going to spend eternity
- 3:53either in heaven or hell.
- 3:55And so another one has, have you ever been deceived, you know, the very nature of deception
- 4:00is that people do not know they're deceived until they're confronted with a truth.
- 4:05So what we do with our gospel tracks is confront people with the truth of God's word so
- 4:11that they can repent of any false way and believe the true way.
- 4:16Mike, before we get into the topic today, what we had planned to talk about, a very important
- 4:21subject of God's prophetic plan for Israel has chosen people.
- 4:27You said something that really peaked my interest because it's very important to evangelize
- 4:31in our own churches in America.
- 4:35So tell us about true faith or false hope.
- 4:37Can you give us a few bullet points on that for believers that are converted and hold
- 4:46in the biblical worldview and they've got either on sound doctrine and they believe
- 4:51in the whole council of God.
- 4:53But yet there are people that would call themselves Christians that really are not believing
- 5:00some, even some of the basic tenets of the faith.
- 5:02So tell us about true faith or false hope briefly.
- 5:06Well, sure, David, it's based on Paul's exhortation in 2 Corinthians 13.5 that we are
- 5:12to examine ourselves to make sure we're in the faith because there's a lot of distorted
- 5:18gospels.
- 5:19People have distorted the gospel by adding requirements to it or by taking requirements
- 5:25away from it.
- 5:26And so we've got churches now that are filled with people that have not heard the true,
- 5:33complete gospel as it's revealed in Scripture.
- 5:37In another way that this false converts in our churches is they may hear of the true gospel,
- 5:43but they may be responding to it not according to Scripture.
- 5:48You know, the first command of our Lord Jesus was to repent and believe the gospel.
- 5:53There are many pastors and well-meaning evangelists today that are not calling people to repent.
- 6:00And that's part of the first command of Jesus.
- 6:02And so it's not a matter of just simply believing.
- 6:05If we're believing a false Christ or a false gospel, then we have to repent, which means
- 6:11change your mind and believe the true gospel and the true Christ.
- 6:16And so it's very important that we call people to repent and believe the gospel.
- 6:21So many churches are believing that you can win people to Christ by having them come
- 6:27forward in an alter call or raising a hand or repeating a prayer.
- 6:31Well, you can repeat a prayer as long as you couple that with repentance and faith.
- 6:37Amen.
- 6:38That's what's necessary in order to be born again.
- 6:40Amen.
- 6:41Thank you for making that point very important.
- 6:44As much as we believe in crusades and evangelistic efforts, we really make sure we are preaching
- 6:53the whole gospel.
- 6:54We got to talk about God's judgment, you got to talk about sin, and you must get to repentance,
- 7:00as you said, very, very important, not just an emotional.
- 7:03The music gave me goose bumps and I think I should raise my hand and go forward.
- 7:08Anyway, we could spend a whole hour on that, Mike.
- 7:10But let's go back to last year, you were in Israel on a tour when they were horrifically
- 7:19and demonically attacked by Hamas and I just want to start off by sharing the very beginning
- 7:24of your newsletter that you sent out at the end of last year.
- 7:29It says in our sovereign lords, amazing providence, the itinerary for our Bible lands, crews
- 7:35to Israel was changed for some unknown reason and then you go on and explain where you were
- 7:42and what happened.
- 7:43So take us back there and just briefly tell us what happened and God obviously spared
- 7:48you and kept you guys safe.
- 7:50So go ahead and share Mike.
- 7:51Well, sure, we actually never made it into Israel.
- 7:54We were on a cruise ship and we had been to Ephesus and Athens and we're on a way to
- 8:00Israel.
- 8:01It was actually doing a message on the ship and it was all about God's prophetic plan
- 8:07for the Jewish people and God's faithfulness to the nation of Israel.
- 8:12And so when I finished my message, I opened it up for questions and one of the people in
- 8:17the audience said, I just got a news feed on my cell phone and Israel is being attacked
- 8:23right now and we were scheduled to dock them very next day and so again in God's providence
- 8:29we were diverted away from Israel and we never were a part of that.
- 8:34We know some people that were there and it was really difficult for them to get out because
- 8:39of everything that was going on.
- 8:41So we praise God.
- 8:42We're disappointed in not being able to go but thankful to the Lord that He redirected
- 8:47us at the last moment.
- 8:49So let's go back now about 2000 years or more actually if you go start at 1948 and
- 8:56go backwards, the Jews were dispersed around the world and that land was basically a desert,
- 9:03a wasteland and the Jews were returning to their homeland after being dispersed for
- 9:11so long.
- 9:12And there's a verse that you shared in Deuteronomy 33 through 5, it says, the Lord your
- 9:16God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the
- 9:24nations where He scattered you.
- 9:27Let's stop right there, Mike Gendron.
- 9:28That's very interesting and obviously prophetic, but it says that God scattered them.
- 9:34In his sovereignty, God allowed his people to be scattered around the world to share
- 9:40your thoughts on that.
- 9:41Well, yeah, I'd rather just quote the scripture from Deuteronomy 28 verses 64 to 67.
- 9:49We read the Lord will scatter you among all the nations from one end of the earth to
- 9:53the other among those nations.
- 9:55You will find no repose, no resting place for the soul of your foot.
- 10:01There the Lord will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing and a despairing
- 10:06heart.
- 10:07You will live in constant suspense filled with dread those night and day, never sure of
- 10:12your life because of the terror that will fill your hearts and the sights that your eyes
- 10:18will see.
- 10:19And so that was the scattering by the Lord because of their disobedience to him, but what
- 10:27a merciful and gracious God he fulfilled this prophetic promise to bring them back to
- 10:32the land.
- 10:34And now, of course, 1948, let's just go right there.
- 10:38That's when they were reestablished and fascinating history.
- 10:42As you said, I think in your newsletter, you said the prophetic time clock started ticking
- 10:48again when Israel became a sovereign nation in 1948.
- 10:53And so not that prophecies were still not being fulfilled elsewhere, but that was very important
- 10:58for them to get back to the land that God promised them, Israel, Jerusalem.
- 11:04Share more about that, Mike.
- 11:06Well, the eyes of the world are focused on Israel and its capital, Jerusalem, just as
- 11:11it was prophesied, or declared behold, I'm about to make Jerusalem a cup of trembling
- 11:17to all the surrounding peoples.
- 11:20And so part of my message on the cruise ship was how Israel would be attacked by the
- 11:25nations surrounding it, all the Europe nations.
- 11:29And so we're seeing the prophetic time clock moving forward at a very rapid pace as far
- 11:34as we're concerned.
- 11:35But in God's eyes, it's all taking place according to his plan in David.
- 11:40But I think we're a very blessed people because we may be the very people that see prophecy
- 11:45fulfilled.
- 11:46I think we may be the most blessed generation in 2000 years because we really do see
- 11:53the networking of God's plan.
- 11:56We are getting really close, Mike.
- 11:58That's why we started off by sharing the importance of loving your neighbor enough to tell
- 12:03them the truth and to share the gospel with them because we do not know.
- 12:07We know.
- 12:08I mean, most every believer you talk to would recognize to some degree that we are really
- 12:13close to the end and the return of Christ.
- 12:17And we are in a very, like you said, prophetic time.
- 12:22Things are happening in our world today that we, that Mike, I wouldn't have imagined if
- 12:28you would have said, you know, 30 years ago, this was going to be happening in your country.
- 12:33And then this is what the global outlook would be like.
- 12:36Global is going to be attacked and all these other things.
- 12:39And first of all, going back to the attack by Hamas, a lot of what we've seen since then
- 12:47has shown that we really haven't learned from world history and such to some degree it's
- 12:54being repeated on our own college campuses.
- 12:57You've got protests or, well, I guess you come protests against Israel, but pro Hamas,
- 13:04pro Palestine and these people don't even know world history, let alone biblical history.
- 13:08We know that.
- 13:10But there's some ignorance there when it comes to who has the right to the land.
- 13:14And you talked about that in your newsletter, who has the right to the land of Israel.
- 13:19So I think we need to go back, Mike, there's a lot of people that need to be reminded what
- 13:24the Bible teaches and who has the right.
- 13:28Well, the Bible, God's word, is the title deed to the land he gave it to Israel.
- 13:35And anybody that has a Bible can search it out for themselves.
- 13:40The Lord made a covenant with Abraham saying to your descendants, I have given this land
- 13:46from the river of Egypt as far as the Great River, the River Euphrates.
- 13:51That's Genesis 1518.
- 13:53And then later on he declared, I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land
- 13:59where you live as a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession.
- 14:05And I will be their God, Genesis 17, eight.
- 14:08And so I raised my voice because it is an everlasting possession for Israel,
- 14:15even though God scattered them around the world, the title deed still belonged to the Jews.
- 14:21So he's re-gathered them and it belongs to their nation forever, the Jewish people.
- 14:28So there's a verse that you share after that or you actually make the point that no human solution
- 14:34to this ongoing conflict over the rights of the land exists, but there is a divine solution.
- 14:42The things will not be resolved until Jesus turns the king of kings to set up his earthly kingdom
- 14:46from the throne of David and Jerusalem 2 Samuel 7.
- 14:50When we come back from this brief break, we're going to talk about who are the Palestinians
- 14:56on World View Matters with Mike Gendron.
- 15:17So friends, again, go to Mike's website for gospel tracks and a whole lot more,
- 15:22lots of great information at proclaimingthegospel.org and check out the store.
- 15:28But Mike, there's a lot of confusion about Palestine, but the Palestinian people who in world history
- 15:36didn't exist. And it's really amazing because we're not surprised what happens on college campuses
- 15:43because they went through the K through 12 system and then they went to the leftist
- 15:47Marxist universities and got more of the propaganda. So just share your thoughts on
- 15:53you mentioned the emperor Hadrian, you know, in Rome.
- 15:57Mention that who are the Palestinians and go back as far as you need to there.
- 16:01Well, in the second century, the Roman Emperor decided to punish the Jews by changing the name
- 16:07of Judea to Palestine. So this is nothing to do with modern-day Palestinians. They didn't even
- 16:13exist at the time, but at the time of the conquest of the land by the British Empire in 1917,
- 16:19many Arabs from neighboring countries made their way into the land of Israel as migrant workers.
- 16:25Years later, after Israel declared itself independent in 1948,
- 16:31Arab armies invaded the land with the goal of eliminating every Jew.
- 16:36In the six-day war of 1967, Arab nations tried again to destroy Israel,
- 16:42but Israel miraculously prevailed and took the Golden Heights, Judea,
- 16:47Samaria, the Sinai Peninsula, and the Gaza Strip. All this to say, there has never been a Palestinian
- 16:54state, a Palestinian language, a Palestinian culture. So for the Palestinians to say they have
- 17:02a right to the land, it's just absurd because they never existed until recently.
- 17:08It really is astounding. It really is. And you mentioned, obviously, we've talked about this
- 17:12on the podcast for several months now, the fact that Palestinians as a people group were not
- 17:19mentioned until about 75 years ago, but people have short memories, and they do not know true
- 17:24world history let alone the Bible, but it's propaganda. It's what the left has been putting out
- 17:30there for so long. And by the way, very interesting point you make, the Quran never mentions Jerusalem.
- 17:39The Bible mentions Jerusalem some 800 times, and yet they are claiming they have a right to
- 17:49Jerusalem and right to the land. And people are going, oh yeah, you know, they make a good point.
- 17:54And you just have to shake your head, Mike, this like this delusion going on.
- 17:59What are your thoughts on that?
- 18:02Well, we have to always go back to this spiritual warfare between God and Satan. Satan
- 18:09hates everything about God, including the Jewish people. Obviously, he hates the Lord Jesus Christ,
- 18:14he hates the Christian church. And so we know that the whole world lies in the power of the devil,
- 18:211 John 5.9. And so when we look at what took place with Hamas coming in and trying to destroy
- 18:29the Jewish people, that was inflicted by really Satan with his willing pawns. He's the one that's
- 18:37behind all of this anti-Israel, anti-Jewish, anti-Semitism. And so when we recognize that,
- 18:46we know that the enemies of God are constantly on the move, trying to destroy God's
- 18:54prophetic plan. That's right. I'm from the beginning. There's nothing new under the sun.
- 18:59And now there's just different ways, different methods, different people now.
- 19:04So very important point that I've heard often, I think, I don't think you can say this often
- 19:10enough. I think even Benjamin Netanyahu and others have been quoted saying this, if Islam puts
- 19:17down her weapons, there would be no more terrorism. If Israel puts down her weapons, there would be no
- 19:26more Israel. Now, Mike, if you just take that at face value and we know most people, most honest
- 19:34people that would reason and say, okay, yeah, that's, you know, that's probably right. But yet,
- 19:40they still, they won't change their worldview, you know, or they still believed the talking points.
- 19:46But doesn't that say something that Israel does want peace? But they have to defend themselves.
- 19:52They have a right to defend themselves and the land. Go ahead.
- 19:56Well, they do. They have every right. And when you look at the map, they are surrounded
- 20:02by millions of hostile Arab people that their number one goal as Palestinians and Muslims is to
- 20:13destroy Israel. They don't want to take over the land. They want to destroy the Jewish race.
- 20:19That's right. And so that's why there will be no peace in Israel until the Prince of Peace comes
- 20:24back. And we know that right before he does word before the rapture of the church that will be a
- 20:31peace treaty that's affirmed by the Antichrist and it will be a false peace in the land of Israel.
- 20:38But at the midpoint of the tribulation, the Antichrist will turn against Israel and they will not
- 20:45be spared until the Lord returns. And he will save a third of the people that are remaining in
- 20:52Israel. And it's so tragic to know that two-thirds of the Jewish population will be
- 20:59destroyed in the tribulation period. But always like what the Lord said, you know,
- 21:05looking over Jerusalem when he was here the first time 2000 years ago, he wept over
- 21:12Jerusalem and he said, you will not see me again until you say, blessed is he who comes in the name
- 21:18of the Lord. And then all Israel will be saved when they look upon the one they pierced.
- 21:23And so that's the future of Israel. It's a glorious future. But before they get to the end,
- 21:30they're going to have to suffer quite a bit more. It's hard to imagine what Jesus felt when he
- 21:37said that, looking over Jerusalem saying you rejected the truth. You killed the prophets and those
- 21:44sent to you. It's hard to imagine God in the flesh, what he felt at that moment were his own
- 21:52people. The Messiah was right in front of them, walking among them and doing miracles. And anyway,
- 22:00Mike, you referenced Zechariah 13, 8 and 9. I think before we wrap up today, it's important to
- 22:06talk about that because not all Israel is going to be saved, which is very sad. And Jesus
- 22:14words are full of warning, full of rebuke for those who who would reject him or put their
- 22:22traditions above the word of God. And oh, my goodness, don't you have a whole testimony on your
- 22:29days as a Catholic, putting the traditions of man before God's holy word? Your quick thoughts on
- 22:35that or whatever you want to share? Well, sure. We know that there's a partial
- 22:42heartening of the heart on Israel until the Lord removes that. And so we know that there are some
- 22:49Jewish people that are being saved and converted to Christ now. But most of them will not
- 22:55be converted until they look upon the one they have pierced. What a joy that will be for all of
- 23:02them when they recognize that they had been deceived for so many years. They'd listen to their
- 23:08false teachers, the apostate Jewish leaders. And so much of that can be related to the church today.
- 23:15We have so many false teachers in our church today that are leading people down the wide
- 23:20road to destruction all in the name of Christianity. And of course, we know the Roman Catholic religion
- 23:26represents 1.3 billion precious souls. But there's also many in our Protestant churches that have been
- 23:33misled by false teachers. And so more than ever, I think we need to have discernment.
- 23:39We need to test every man's teaching with the word of God. And if it doesn't line up with the
- 23:45word of God, we need to reject it. And those that don't have discernment really need our help.
- 23:51Because those that have been abiding in God's word, they know the truth. And the truth is
- 23:57that I'm free from any religious deception. We just need to help those who are being deceived,
- 24:03David. And I know that your heart beat as well in your ministry.
- 24:07That's right. And one of the biggest problems in our church is today. I think one of them
- 24:12is progressive Christianity. You might say liberal Christianity. You might put another. It's
- 24:18an oxymoron. If you ask me, but there's an interesting quote that Owen Strayon shared recently.
- 24:25He said, the greatest threat to biblical Christianity today is not atheism, militant Islam,
- 24:32the sexual revolution, or a hostile public square. He said, the greatest threat to biblical
- 24:38Christianity today is weak, soft, man-centered, sin-affirming, ear-tickling, flesh-pleasing,
- 24:47self-help theology. And what that is also a religion of works. And people mean, well,
- 24:55I think a lot of times, but that's not going to save you. We've got a problem in our churches
- 25:00where you've got the best life. Now theology, you've got the prosperity gospel. Mike, it's a mess.
- 25:07And not surprising to God in the pages of scripture where Paul warned, Peter warned,
- 25:13Jude warned, you know, about mockers, about false teachers, about those who'd want their ears
- 25:17tickled. So share your final thoughts on how we believers and people that support your ministry
- 25:24and our audience here can reach people that think they're good to go, but their theology is a
- 25:31little off. Well, the Lord said the signs of the end times would be great deception, false
- 25:37teachers, false prophets, false Christ. He also in scripture has talked about the growing apostasy,
- 25:43and so we're seeing that now. And yet, most people in our Protestant churches don't see an apostasy
- 25:50because they're right in the middle of it. They've got to see it with a false gospel and a false
- 25:55Christ. And you articulated that very well. And so those who have discernment, we need to lovingly
- 26:01confront those who are being deceived. And we need to ask them, where you go to church?
- 26:07What is your church teach about salvation? How can you know for sure that you are saved? And,
- 26:13you know, the promise of the gospel is eternal everlasting life. Many Protestants believe you
- 26:18can lose your salvation. So they haven't heard the true gospel promise I need to believe. So
- 26:25more than ever, our work has cut out for us. We need to sow the seed of God's imperishable word
- 26:30because it's a promise that it will bring forth life when it finds fertile soil. Amen, brother.
- 26:35Amen. Mike Gendron proclaiming the gospel.org. So you're heading to California. Where are you
- 26:41going to be speaking there? I'm speaking at Revolved Bible Church, which is the church that
- 26:47put out my message last year that now has a million five hundred thousand views on YouTube.
- 26:53So we're looking for another viral message to go for this weekend. My message is very
- 26:59tied into what we've just talked about. The title of my message is discernment
- 27:05against the Seekful Talk Friends of demons. And one of the things we've got to get right friends
- 27:11is our worldview on Israel at the Bible teaches about Israel. That's why Mike, I wanted to have
- 27:15you on because I wanted to talk to you for a while again, but when I saw the newsletter on
- 27:21God's prophetic plan for Israel, we've got to continue to talk about this. It's not going to go
