Speaker 1: Super Rugby semi final time Blues and Brumbies to night
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Eden Park tomorrow, Hurricanes, Chiefs and the Capitol. Of course,
• 0:05
Speaker 1: sports commentator Sam Ackerman is with us on all of this. Sam,
• 0:08
Speaker 1: very good morning to you and to you as well.
• 0:11
Speaker 2: It's a big weekend looking forward to it.
• 0:13
  Speaker 1: Well, I was going to say, here's here's the here's
• 0:15
Speaker 1: the game. I'm going to play with you. You can only
• 0:16
Speaker 1: watch one game, which.
• 0:17
  Speaker 2: Is oh, listen, I almost I won't take Warrior's Storm
• 0:24
Speaker 2: if I can only watch one. If I can watch
• 0:25
Speaker 2: one game, if I can, if I can watch one
• 0:27
Speaker 2: and Super Rugby, I'm definitely taking the Hurricanes versus the Chiefs.
• 0:32
Speaker 2: It's it's got blockbuster written all over it, and the
• 0:36
Speaker 2: Hurricane has been so impressive this year. Can they win
• 0:39
Speaker 2: a Super Rightby title with the britty style of rugby
• 0:42
Speaker 2: that they've played for so much of the season. I
• 0:45
Speaker 2: think yes. I think they're very capable. But the Chiefs
• 0:47
Speaker 2: are aside that you can't sleep on. They've done so
• 0:50
Speaker 2: well to the start of the season, and while they
• 0:52
Speaker 2: win as dominant towards the back end, how they performed
• 0:54
Speaker 2: against the Red show that they can shake it up
• 0:56
Speaker 2: with anyone daytime rugby as well. It's what fans love
• 0:59
Speaker 2: to watch. I think it's a classic Rittal overyte.
• 1:02
Speaker 1: When you say it's what fans love to watch, you're correct,
• 1:06
Speaker 1: And so why haven't they worked that out more? Is
• 1:08
Speaker 1: that all about television and we're watching the TV at
• 1:10
Speaker 1: night and you need the eyeballs.
• 1:12
Speaker 2: It is as well as fitting into international audiences now.
• 1:15
Speaker 2: I know it's Australia as your new other team involved now,
• 1:19
Speaker 2: but it still needs to fit into there and be
• 1:21
Speaker 2: accessible to international on the other side of the planet
• 1:25
Speaker 2: as well, so that they think about that, whereas a
• 1:27
Speaker 2: lot of other competitions wouldn't keep us in mind, would they.
• 1:30
Speaker 2: So I think that it feels like a throwback and
• 1:34
Speaker 2: a funny kind of way to see a daytime game
• 1:36
Speaker 2: like that, But hopefully it's successful enough and allows for
• 1:40
Speaker 2: that kind of flow on for those making the calls
• 1:43
Speaker 2: to remember it's how we grew up watching how rugby
• 1:46
Speaker 2: and not everyone wants to go late at night in
• 1:48
Speaker 2: the cold to watch it exactly.
• 1:50
Speaker 1: Blues Brumbies, Is that even a contest? And if it isn't,
• 1:52
Speaker 1: what does it say about the quality of the overall comp.
• 1:56
Speaker 2: Listen, I'll set the Blues for sure, but typical are
• 2:00
Speaker 2: start getting out of our head that we think the
• 2:02
Speaker 2: Union Zealand teams can win. We can't sleep on the Brumbies.
• 2:05
Speaker 2: They have been doing very well this season. They only
• 2:07
Speaker 2: had a couple of losses as well, including knocking over
• 2:10
Speaker 2: the Hurricanes in a real shock this season, so they're capable.
• 2:13
Speaker 2: But you can't the Blues at home even without Patrick
• 2:16
Speaker 2: Tupelow too. They look too strong and the concept of
• 2:19
Speaker 2: wedding right through to another Super Rapy final, our team
• 2:22
Speaker 2: that's come so close for so long. I talk about
• 2:25
Speaker 2: the pretty of the Hurricanes, it's the gritty of the
• 2:27
Speaker 2: Blues that I'm really interested in and looking forward seeing
• 2:30
Speaker 2: if this is finally the style of football that delivers
• 2:33
Speaker 2: a title back at Teton Park.
• 2:35
Speaker 1: Okay, so you're tipping the Blues. We didn't get to
• 2:36
Speaker 1: the Hurricaneschoops, who wins it.
• 2:39
Speaker 2: I'm going to stick with the Hurricanes while the chiasa
• 2:43
Speaker 2: quality of the Hurricanes haven't given us a reason to
• 2:46
Speaker 2: back against them, and that's where I always consider. With
• 2:48
Speaker 2: the team playing as well as they have for so long.
• 2:50
Speaker 1: All right, good stuff, you have a good weekend, Sam,
• 2:52
Speaker 1: and he was right. And initially wasn't he worried's storm?
• 2:54
Speaker 1: I mean, that's the real game of the weekend, for
• 2:55
Speaker 1: goodness sake, Sam Akerman.
