- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Hello, Leapfrogs. Just a quick content warning up top. The
- 0:07Speaker 2: following podcast contains discussion of sexual assault. Because this is
- 0:11Speaker 2: our annual anime episode and those two things, well, you know,
- 0:17Speaker 2: just wanted to give anyone the option. Who would rather
- 0:19Speaker 2: turn away at this point? Check out Our Witch, a
- 0:21Speaker 2: live episode that's just got lots of sea bombs instead.
- 0:24Speaker 2: But this is still a fun episode with some brilliant
- 0:27Speaker 2: funny people. Don't let the otaku scare you off too much, Okay,
- 0:31Speaker 2: enjoy the show. Roast he is the thing, but sometimes
- 0:36Speaker 2: because of my accent, razing seems like roasting.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Hello, Welcome to Pandemonium, the pop culture game show that
- 1:02Speaker 2: shines the spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your games
- 1:05Speaker 2: master and purveyor of media from the Decadent West, Matt Watson.
- 1:10Speaker 2: But a games master needs games, and games need players.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Always awkward when you say decadent West and it doesn't
- 1:15Speaker 2: get any reaction whatsoever.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I thought I had to be quiet, I had to
- 1:20Speaker 3: be introduced before I could speak.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Reaction, but it was all facial.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Do you need a clean take of Decadent West? I
- 1:28Speaker 2: feel like no, we'll just we'll use what we've got.
- 1:30Speaker 2: We'll use we've got, so please welcome first. He is
- 1:32Speaker 2: a musician who produces our live shows. He also self
- 1:36Speaker 2: identifies as a weeb, which today stands for wash everywhere.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Everyone's bathing. It's Chris Raygan, Hey what everyone's bathing?
- 1:46Speaker 5: Today's an anime day.
- 1:52Speaker 2: And she is an improviser, comedian and tune titan, which
- 1:56Speaker 2: means she can improvise a banger theme song for season three.
- 2:00Speaker 2: It's Julia BOSEI.
- 2:07Speaker 4: That for eighty seconds theme song.
- 2:09Speaker 3: That's a weirly I mean, like it seems it could
- 2:12Speaker 3: fit like SPI's family or something.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You're dropping those we that like weeb cred quit.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I don't know that it's that cred I don't know
- 2:21Speaker 3: that it makes me that credential.
- 2:24Speaker 2: To me, that's credentials. I've never seen that. Julia, Chris,
- 2:29Speaker 2: welcome back as always. How you both doing doing so good?
- 2:33Speaker 4: Nice? You know here here in this space with these people. Great.
- 2:39Speaker 6: Yes, you know, I have to keep reminding myself. I'm like, oh, yeah, no,
- 2:43Speaker 6: we're doing great.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Oh here, yeah, anywhere else in this space during acts
- 2:49Speaker 2: of collective escapism, Yeah, exactly.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Matt and Andre's cat, the really shy one came up
- 2:56Speaker 3: while we were in the living room, So I'm feeling
- 2:59Speaker 3: pretty last right now.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Fantastic. I love that spreading the love from cat to guest.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Yeah, like the cat and the anime a righterence.
- 3:15Speaker 2: So Julia, I will ask you first, are you a
- 3:17Speaker 2: fan for a fan of Dan to Dan?
- 3:22Speaker 4: Yes?
- 3:23Speaker 1: I am.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I am a fan even I you know, I made
- 3:27Speaker 3: it through the first episode, and I feel like that's.
- 3:31Speaker 2: A thing to talk about in that for sure, that
- 3:36Speaker 2: I made it for the first episode.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I'm really glad I did because there's a lot of
- 3:40Speaker 3: things that I really came to enjoy and love about
- 3:43Speaker 3: this show that's actually like tender.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Yes, I was not expecting after that first bit.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Same yeah, first episode, I was like, Wow, this is
- 3:52Speaker 2: everything that I don't like about anime.
- 3:54Speaker 4: But I'm glad.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I'm glad I.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Pussted to be it because it became fun monster of
- 3:59Speaker 2: the week kind of stuff and there was some good
- 4:02Speaker 2: emotional locks in that.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's my official review. So everyone knows up top
- 4:06Speaker 2: I value disavowed, disavowed, disavow, Oh fantastic, Christ what about yourself,
- 4:13Speaker 2: phanto fan, I'm gonna keep saying it.
- 4:14Speaker 1: It's fun to.
- 4:15Speaker 6: Say, yeah, yes, I am. I greatly enjoyed it. I
- 4:19Speaker 6: happened upon it when the first season was airing, and
- 4:22Speaker 6: I was like, oh, this is fucking sick. You know,
- 4:26Speaker 6: first episode, you know, we will dance around that super
- 4:32Speaker 6: random thing that I just kind of stumbled upon, super
- 4:35Speaker 6: niche How many people know met it?
- 4:39Speaker 1: See?
- 4:39Speaker 2: I actually genuinely don't know, Like where does it rank
- 4:42Speaker 2: in terms of like as mainstream as could possibly be
- 4:45Speaker 2: for an anime and as underground as something could be.
- 4:48Speaker 6: I feel like as far as like new anime goes,
- 4:51Speaker 6: it's pretty mainstream.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Okay, it's a breakaway success for sure. Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:58Speaker 6: It's like there's a couple of Netflix anime that just
- 5:01Speaker 6: like popped off. Yeah maybe not Netflix specific maybe, but
- 5:06Speaker 6: like some anime just pop off like crazy on Netflix,
- 5:10Speaker 6: and I think it was this one. It's like Sockamoto days.
- 5:12Speaker 6: They're like not yeah thought of when you think of anime,
- 5:17Speaker 6: but they're just they've just been super popular in the
- 5:20Speaker 6: last couple of years.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, good to know that gives context. That's that's good.
- 5:25Speaker 4: At least that's my perspective. I could be fully fucking run.
- 5:29Speaker 2: You full or a panel of expuds.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I'm not online enough to know how other people that
- 5:35Speaker 3: like anime feel because I feel like I don't want
- 5:38Speaker 3: to engage with other I don't want to.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I like engaging with people in real life.
- 5:41Speaker 3: About anime, but I don't want to engage with people
- 5:43Speaker 3: online about.
- 5:44Speaker 6: I think that's I think that's a very You're correct,
- 5:48Speaker 6: You're correct in doing that shout out to online.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Only meet me in person. I'll like you.
- 5:56Speaker 6: I just I just read people's opinions, and boy, how
- 6:00Speaker 6: do I hate it every time?
- 6:03Speaker 2: Well, Chris Juliet, I think you'll make an excellent team.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I was gonna say a teach team. But if I
- 6:08Speaker 2: start doing it with every word.
- 6:10Speaker 6: You won't be able to start stop stops us up.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, Yeah, and look there's even a few more
- 6:19Speaker 2: in the script. So despite the fact you'll make a
- 6:23Speaker 2: good team, you'll need some bananas to acquire, I mean,
- 6:26Speaker 2: some opponents to face. He is a podcaster, pinmaker, and
- 6:30Speaker 2: voice artist, and if he does an anime voice during
- 6:32Speaker 2: this record, he'll face a three episode band.
- 6:35Speaker 1: It's Drew Shulman.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Oh no, I can't let Matt down and do an
- 6:39Speaker 4: anime voice.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Forever perfect. That's exactly what I wanted.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Reverse psychology still works, got me. And he is a
- 6:50Speaker 2: real person with a proper job. He's a professor, but
- 6:53Speaker 2: thankfully not of anime. As his opponents breathe a sigh
- 6:56Speaker 2: of relief, it's Scott's thanks sweat generous of you to
- 7:00Speaker 2: call professing a real job. It's a it's something I
- 7:05Speaker 2: respect for real surreal job. Maybe sure, sure, absolutely, Yeah,
- 7:10Speaker 2: that's a.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Really I really love that. Yeah, that's yeah, that's clever.
- 7:15Speaker 2: That's the kind of clever that an academic can bring
- 7:17Speaker 2: to this well golf club. Welcome has always Drew, Welcome
- 7:24Speaker 2: for the first time, Corey, how are you both doing
- 7:26Speaker 2: this evening?
- 7:27Speaker 1: Good? I mean the horrors, the horrors.
- 7:30Speaker 4: I am one jet lag too happy to be here
- 7:33Speaker 4: in Canada and slightly further from the horrors.
- 7:37Speaker 2: That's true. Are you looking for a spouse by any chance?
- 7:41Speaker 4: I have one, But polyamory is always on the table.
- 7:45Speaker 3: It's already on our kitchen table.
- 7:51Speaker 4: It up, I make a mean breakfast or come on
- 7:55Speaker 4: down or up?
- 7:59Speaker 1: Oh fantastic.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Well, I'm gonna ask you both the same question up top, Drew,
- 8:03Speaker 2: what's uh? What's your status with Danda Dana, you're a
- 8:06Speaker 2: fan for fan.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Amazingly so peak behind the Curtain for listeners. This was
- 8:11Speaker 4: one of those like we were just like, hey, we
- 8:12Speaker 4: should do an anime episode this year and I was like, oh,
- 8:15Speaker 4: I just started Day today and it's pretty fun. And
- 8:17Speaker 4: I was like, you're doing that episode, like I better
- 8:19Speaker 4: finish it. And I genuinely have not really like lashed
- 8:24Speaker 4: onto a newer anime in the last few years, so
- 8:27Speaker 4: I was kind of like, this is one like i'd
- 8:28Speaker 4: really kind of like Stuck under the Rug is like
- 8:30Speaker 4: e like it's getting that mainstream hype. It seems like cringey,
- 8:34Speaker 4: and I think, like you with the first episode, very
- 8:36Speaker 4: much like, Okay, I'll give it one more because I
- 8:39Speaker 4: promised a friend I would, and I was again glad
- 8:41Speaker 4: I did, and next stuck through. For the first two
- 8:43Speaker 4: seasons they were phenomenal. Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Absolutely, they make a difficult first one as like some
- 8:47Speaker 2: sort of test.
- 8:48Speaker 4: It's almost like we were trying to keep people out
- 8:50Speaker 4: with some sort of gating mechanism. Weird.
- 8:54Speaker 6: Really just got to a muscle through the assault, you know,
- 8:57Speaker 6: you know, yeah, just power through, just power through through it.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I really hate that. I just said that.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Yeah, let's I know, I'll clip it. Oh fantastic. And Corey,
- 9:12Speaker 2: what about yourself? Are you a fan of a fan
- 9:14Speaker 2: of Dan Dan? Yeah, you know, I saw that first
- 9:17Speaker 2: episode and I was hooked immediately. No, I mean modulo
- 9:24Speaker 2: whatever weird anime stuff goes on. It's you know, it's
- 9:29Speaker 2: a visual tour de force. It's weird, which I always appreciate.
- 9:32Speaker 2: It's tender. I really like that word. So yeah, I
- 9:35Speaker 2: love it. It's the first Blake live anime that I've
- 9:40Speaker 2: been like keeping track of. Well, it's airing and night
- 9:44Speaker 2: a long time, like we were sort of out of
- 9:46Speaker 2: the anime game, and it's it's great.
- 9:48Speaker 1: It pulled us back in colorful, wacky what's not to love?
- 9:54Speaker 1: You know? Once we know? Yeah, yeah, what's not to love? Well,
- 9:58Speaker 1: here's a list, But.
- 10:01Speaker 4: That's kind of the point of the show at this point,
- 10:03Speaker 4: is the like, here's all the bad things, but we're
- 10:05Speaker 4: gonna make you love us.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Anyways. I think that's what the aliens said.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Oh I got it.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I feel like this, I mean, the show felt like
- 10:17Speaker 2: it should have come with a trigger warning. Maybe maybe
- 10:20Speaker 2: the discussion of this episode should as well. Yes, I'll
- 10:23Speaker 2: put something in the intro you' have already heard it.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I'll have cut this all right? Cool and more jokes
- 10:34Speaker 2: like that. Okay, it seems you've just broken up with
- 10:37Speaker 2: your abusive boyfriend and decided the best way to avoid
- 10:41Speaker 2: further abuse is by spending some time with an otaku kid.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Wisen up. You find yourself needing a whiplash change of tone.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So I'd like each pair to come up with a
- 10:50Speaker 2: Dan Todan themed namanam. Please let's start with Chris and Julia.
- 10:55Speaker 2: What have you got?
- 10:56Speaker 1: Okay, Chris, all right.
- 10:58Speaker 6: I gotta I gotta hear you, gotta know I have
- 11:04Speaker 6: I have one that I think will work really well.
- 11:06Speaker 6: But I wrote down a couple to see to see
- 11:08Speaker 6: what to see what we want to work with. First off,
- 11:11Speaker 6: straight down, the straight down the plate nuts, you know.
- 11:20Speaker 4: You know. Second, Heaven's chosen pretty guardians.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I was trying to remember the specific she used because
- 11:29Speaker 1: I want that.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Okay, that's a really big contender for me that you
- 11:33Speaker 3: might not have intended.
- 11:34Speaker 4: No, I love that. It's fully not anything changed about.
- 11:39Speaker 6: It's just straight plucked from the show because I loved
- 11:43Speaker 6: it so much. I know three mannequin testes, you.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Know, testes, nuts tests, and then you might want to
- 11:58Speaker 2: say that will for yourself.
- 11:59Speaker 6: Car My personal favorite, too fast parentheses granny, too furious
- 12:06Speaker 6: parentheses granny.
- 12:09Speaker 1: That is good.
- 12:16Speaker 3: I like the idea of yelling granny when it comes
- 12:20Speaker 3: to the quick fire.
- 12:22Speaker 6: That's just been in my head. I've just been saying
- 12:24Speaker 6: that over and over in my head all day.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Too fast granny, too furious Granny.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Oh the.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Let's send it. Yeah, you're doing it.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Yeah you want to that one?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Okay, I mean, would you prefer what was the Guardians.
- 12:41Speaker 4: One Heaven's Chosen pretty Guardians?
- 12:44Speaker 1: I mean that both bright.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I've already thought of writing too fast parentheses. Is it
- 12:49Speaker 2: too fast parentheses, granny.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Too furious?
- 12:54Speaker 4: Yes?
- 12:55Speaker 6: And then it can be taking a lot of different ways.
- 12:57Speaker 6: You could be talking about turbo Granny. You could be
- 13:00Speaker 6: talking about the multiple grannies within the show.
- 13:02Speaker 1: True, it's a granny heavy piece of baby, the matriarchal
- 13:07Speaker 1: system they have.
- 13:08Speaker 4: I think Seko could absolutely be labeled under furious granny.
- 13:12Speaker 1: So you know, yeah the show.
- 13:14Speaker 2: If I could remember who that character was, then hot,
- 13:18Speaker 2: that's all.
- 13:19Speaker 7: That's all you have to say, baseball bat, there are
- 13:26Speaker 7: multiple hot grannies in the show.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I don't know what.
- 13:31Speaker 4: It was the fact that I was at some point
- 13:32Speaker 4: making like a satirical list of like characters, and I
- 13:35Speaker 4: was like, why is Granny on here so many times? Wow?
- 13:40Speaker 4: This show really had like a specific niche.
- 13:44Speaker 2: All right, So we got too fast Granny USUS too
- 13:46Speaker 2: fast Granny, too furious Groanny. Sorry, it's such a long
- 13:49Speaker 2: team name. I thought we already had both teams.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Parties, almost like I wish we'd gone the other way
- 13:54Speaker 4: where you guys were just too fast Granny, we were
- 13:57Speaker 4: too furious Granny.
- 14:00Speaker 2: This still time, But let's find out what Drew and
- 14:04Speaker 2: Corey are going to go with. Any ideas, Drew go ahead.
- 14:07Speaker 4: So I took to heart some advice from Matt from
- 14:09Speaker 4: the the recap of last year's episodes, and that is
- 14:12Speaker 4: the the the se O and the searchability of names,
- 14:16Speaker 4: and I think again the the too fast, too furious
- 14:18Speaker 4: works really well with that. It's it's very safe. So
- 14:21Speaker 4: I wanted to censor my ideas by using the show
- 14:24Speaker 4: censorship of bananas. So a few ideas were wet bananas,
- 14:28Speaker 4: soggy bananas, long bananas, right bananas, curcu bananas, or person
- 14:32Speaker 4: my favorite plantains are okay and then and then finally
- 14:39Speaker 4: Banana talia or banana.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Toalss is so good.
- 14:46Speaker 4: It's just it's I let's say it's a mouthful.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Okay, So banana toals might be the best option of that.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Less is pretty good, Well so mine. I had one
- 15:02Speaker 2: that I think has been kind of taken over by
- 15:04Speaker 2: the other team, which was instead of Turbo Turbo Granny,
- 15:07Speaker 2: Turbo charger Grandfather.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Is it?
- 15:15Speaker 2: Is it because it implies the existence of a tobo
- 15:17Speaker 2: like a Tobo Granny. It's the lengthened version of turbo Granny. Yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 2: that's that's true, but that is true. Yeah. So the
- 15:25Speaker 2: other one is the metal band that shows up is High.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I see, so we can be then higher simps. Okay,
- 15:32Speaker 2: that's good. Love a bit of what play.
- 15:34Speaker 1: And given who does the English version of the songs,
- 15:36Speaker 1: I'm a simp for them.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Don't worry.
- 15:38Speaker 1: It might come up.
- 15:40Speaker 4: That's like, that's a weird tribute that might come up.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Dang it. You said it was just the first season.
- 15:47Speaker 1: It might come up and might come up.
- 15:49Speaker 4: That is the first season, Well that's the second season.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Well I watched the first season, but I stood eat
- 15:56Speaker 2: the second season. I'm pretty sure it's the second and
- 16:00Speaker 2: core of the first season.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Oh there we go, am ten there. I just learned that. Look,
- 16:05Speaker 1: I got a weed flex on my wife sometimes. Yeah,
- 16:09Speaker 1: ask to show who's the real weave in the house, right.
- 16:14Speaker 4: In my home.
- 16:15Speaker 2: On that one, she's being very gracious by pretending that
- 16:20Speaker 2: there's any competition.
- 16:21Speaker 1: It's one me.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Well, we had to find out my wife is more
- 16:28Speaker 2: well adjusted than I am.
- 16:29Speaker 1: What I'm saying, I didn't grow up with the stuff.
- 16:35Speaker 2: So what team name do we think we're gonna go with?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Here, Drew, I'm happy to let you choose.
- 16:39Speaker 4: I think purely for the amount of joy brought everyone
- 16:42Speaker 4: to the table. I think bananaals. It's kind of the
- 16:44Speaker 4: way to go. Yeah, absolutely love that so much joy
- 16:47Speaker 4: I would.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Be upset if you did it.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Banan atals another fun thing to say. All right, so
- 16:57Speaker 2: we've got too fast Granny too furious has been on Itzels.
- 17:01Speaker 2: It's a classic contest. Hell yeah, all right. And if
- 17:04Speaker 2: you're listening to this and thinking damn to dam it's
- 17:07Speaker 2: time for the annual anime episode already. But I just
- 17:10Speaker 2: canceled my crunchy role, don't worry, his Drew. With a
- 17:13Speaker 2: little segment we like to call passing knowledge.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Cryptids are the subject of cryptozoology. Oh wait, no, wait,
- 17:19Speaker 4: that's my last passing knowledge. Sorry, credit again. Dan to
- 17:22Speaker 4: Dan is an anime about the subject of cryptozoology, more
- 17:25Speaker 4: specifically a bunch of horny aliens who want to steal
- 17:28Speaker 4: the reproductive organs of powerful humans to breathe their species,
- 17:31Speaker 4: but have issues doing so because the Earth's spirits and ghosts,
- 17:34Speaker 4: some of whom are also you know, wish to steal
- 17:37Speaker 4: human reproductive organs for reasons. Beneath his layer of horny
- 17:40Speaker 4: ghosts and aliens is truly a love story between two teens,
- 17:43Speaker 4: Momo and ken Aka Okurun, who are both too awkward
- 17:46Speaker 4: to realize that they like each other, and all the
- 17:48Speaker 4: horny teens around them who just want to date and
- 17:50Speaker 4: kiss each other and know who's dating who and who's
- 17:52Speaker 4: kissing who. Through over the top exaggerated satire of the
- 17:55Speaker 4: genre and the help of hot grandmother's turbo ghost grannies
- 17:59Speaker 4: said turbo ghosts, Granny new stuck in a cat plushy
- 18:01Speaker 4: childhood crushes, and popular girls who thinks they are on
- 18:04Speaker 4: a mission from God to save the world. These kids
- 18:06Speaker 4: might just make it, and we might just make it.
- 18:09Speaker 4: They're this pandemonium.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Yes, it's just hearing it all smelled out like that.
- 18:14Speaker 2: True it is. It is a wild show.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Once in a while, my partner not an anime fan
- 18:20Speaker 4: at all, and once in a blue middle try to
- 18:21Speaker 4: like just like like, oh, yeah, I'm watching this new show.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Here's a little bit about it. Like I started that
- 18:27Speaker 4: sentence that was like no, I'm just not no, you
- 18:30Speaker 4: gotta free past this time. You don't have to hear
- 18:32Speaker 4: about this one. I love. Yeah, you're free.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Just say banana and shrug banana.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Oh my god, are of this?
- 18:45Speaker 6: I mean aliens there? They could be either cryptids or aliens.
- 18:50Speaker 1: It's a crossover has to exist, right Like.
- 18:54Speaker 4: If there if there is not a Dvian art or
- 18:56Speaker 4: Tumblr dedicated to that, I am. I am so sad.
- 19:00Speaker 2: This season's secret theme is Minions. Every single fandom will
- 19:03Speaker 2: connect to Minions, and we will finish with a Minions
- 19:05Speaker 2: finale on Christmas Day.
- 19:13Speaker 4: It's the fact that could legitimately happen both by your
- 19:16Speaker 4: will and against your will.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Well we'll record both. Okay, thank you so much, Drew.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Just before we get to today's games, I've asked each
- 19:28Speaker 2: of our players to bring in a muse, something that
- 19:30Speaker 2: inspires them or something they love from this particular fandom.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Dan to Dan is inspiring to me because it combines
- 19:36Speaker 2: aliens with demons, and no one had ever thought of
- 19:39Speaker 2: that before, apart from every twelve year old ever. Chris,
- 19:45Speaker 2: We're gonna start with you, what's inspiring you from the
- 19:48Speaker 2: world of Triple.
- 19:48Speaker 6: Day's um It's been God damn it. It's been really
- 19:55Speaker 6: difficult to figure out amuse for this because I'm I'm generally.
- 20:01Speaker 1: New to the to the world of weebdom.
- 20:05Speaker 6: I've I've only gotten into anime in the last like
- 20:07Speaker 6: two years, so this was kind of like one of
- 20:10Speaker 6: the Like I think I said it earlier, this is
- 20:12Speaker 6: like the first show that I watched like as it
- 20:15Speaker 6: came out, and that was really fun. So I think
- 20:19Speaker 6: I had I got to pick a specific episode actually
- 20:22Speaker 6: from this that I'm gonna use as my muse, and
- 20:25Speaker 6: it is the it's the Composer fight episode, if everybody remembers,
- 20:31Speaker 6: and it's like it's really the art style is it's
- 20:34Speaker 6: most of it is in black and white. It is
- 20:36Speaker 6: some of like my personal favorite animation of the entire show,
- 20:40Speaker 6: which is a lot to say because there's so much
- 20:42Speaker 6: really crazy animation, but something about that episode I just
- 20:47Speaker 6: love watching it just brings me a lot of joy.
- 20:50Speaker 1: So that's that's what I'm gonna say.
- 20:52Speaker 2: It's great to pick a specific favorite episode and great
- 20:54Speaker 2: to shout out the animation. That was something that impressed
- 20:57Speaker 2: me throughout the not just like the art style of
- 21:00Speaker 2: some of the fight sequences or even some of the
- 21:03Speaker 2: more like immortive action sequences where they really paused and lingered,
- 21:07Speaker 2: but they changed up the art style like frequently and
- 21:11Speaker 2: felt like they were remixing and playing with like different
- 21:14Speaker 2: mediums and forms, and that felt very impressive.
- 21:17Speaker 6: Yeah, every every episode, just just watching it is just
- 21:20Speaker 6: a treat.
- 21:21Speaker 2: It's just okay, you think episode one's a treat, Chris,
- 21:30Speaker 2: You're You're cana canceled.
- 21:35Speaker 1: You just say no, we got it, okay. Is a
- 21:42Speaker 1: clean Reid.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Fantastic Chris, excellent views. Let's move on over to your
- 21:48Speaker 2: too fast Granny, too furious Granny teammate, Julia.
- 21:51Speaker 1: What's inspiring you from Dan to Dan?
- 21:53Speaker 3: So is actually something kind of simple, but like the
- 22:00Speaker 3: just the color scheme of it grabs me, and like
- 22:05Speaker 3: it comes up a lot in the anime itself.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But just like the I don't know how to describe it.
- 22:11Speaker 3: I'm not a visual artist or anything, but like I
- 22:14Speaker 3: remember trying to like.
- 22:16Speaker 1: This is how bad I am at Google Search. I
- 22:18Speaker 1: was like uh Art.
- 22:20Speaker 3: In color scheme of Dan to Dam, like just trying
- 22:25Speaker 3: to find something or like what is name of color
- 22:28Speaker 3: scheme from Dan to Dam? I probably should have like
- 22:33Speaker 3: like ast a graphic artist or something, because they probably.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Know, No, we ask computers. It's not experts, now, that's
- 22:38Speaker 2: what we do.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Yeah, oh no, the problem.
- 22:44Speaker 3: But yeah, it's just it's so invigorating and inspiring and
- 22:49Speaker 3: just like it engages me immediately, and that's something that
- 22:55Speaker 3: is not always around and so I appreciate that.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that's great.
- 22:59Speaker 2: I feel I wouldn't know what better word to use
- 23:01Speaker 2: other than color scheme of the opening titles, because that's
- 23:05Speaker 2: that it is really cool looking and I wouldn't know
- 23:07Speaker 2: how to describe it or what to call it. I'm
- 23:10Speaker 2: someone else on the panel.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Might I'm I'm like I was a graphic design student.
- 23:14Speaker 4: I know this shit, I can't think the word right now.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Oh god, it's it's a great thing, and I feel
- 23:20Speaker 2: like it really is combined with the music It's like
- 23:22Speaker 2: an assault on the senses that wakes you up and goes, oh, yes,
- 23:25Speaker 2: new episode start now.
- 23:27Speaker 3: It scratches my brain that combination specifically, But I only
- 23:32Speaker 3: wanted to take the colors in case there's a muse
- 23:35Speaker 3: somewhere for someone else.
- 23:36Speaker 2: So true, that's so true. We can potentially save and
- 23:40Speaker 2: that to chat about the music. But we've just talked
- 23:43Speaker 2: about the colors of the opening titles. But very inspiring, Julia,
- 23:48Speaker 2: We're going to move on over to the banana toals
- 23:50Speaker 2: and find out what's inspiring then, Corey, what's inspiring you?
- 23:53Speaker 1: From Dan to den Well.
- 23:55Speaker 2: I felt like saying animation was going to be too
- 23:58Speaker 2: basic in the answers, so so I wanted to say
- 24:01Speaker 2: that the facial expression animation specifically is just like there's
- 24:07Speaker 2: so many scenes where like characters will be looking into
- 24:11Speaker 2: each other's eyes, and like every part of the character's
- 24:15Speaker 2: face is like lovingly rendered, or like in the Haunted
- 24:21Speaker 2: House sequence of episodes where they're like fighting the Purple dude,
- 24:25Speaker 2: Like there are so many facial expressions that are very
- 24:28Speaker 2: stylized in this like amazing way, and so like it's
- 24:33Speaker 2: a it's a very anime thing to spend a whole
- 24:36Speaker 2: bunch of money animating all the fight sequences and like
- 24:39Speaker 2: kind of cheap out on any talking parts. And this
- 24:44Speaker 2: anime likes to hover in this space of really lovingly
- 24:48Speaker 2: rendered scenes that are just characters looking into each other's eyes,
- 24:52Speaker 2: which is surprising. Yeah, no it is. It's excellent. It's
- 24:55Speaker 2: such a great observation. And I found myself more enthrolled
- 24:59Speaker 2: by the sl all moments of Dan to d Yes
- 25:01Speaker 2: than I was by the actions totally. I'd been kind
- 25:04Speaker 2: of looking down at my phone when some of the
- 25:05Speaker 2: action was happening. I got, I get it, a fight
- 25:07Speaker 2: is happening. I know it's the main thing of the
- 25:10Speaker 2: Shawna genre. But oh well, but those those slower moments
- 25:15Speaker 2: just they were brilliant. No good yes, so yeah, great,
- 25:18Speaker 2: shout out great, Sorry do you need a funny answer?
- 25:21Speaker 1: No, no, it saves our energy for later on. There
- 25:25Speaker 1: we go.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Okay, fantastic, brilliant muse Drew. What's inspiring you from Dan
- 25:30Speaker 2: to day?
- 25:31Speaker 4: I'm cheaping out've been doing a double one here because
- 25:33Speaker 4: it's kind of a two and one deal. Like I
- 25:34Speaker 4: said earlier, I really haven't gotten like into a good
- 25:38Speaker 4: anime in a while. And I also feel like I
- 25:39Speaker 4: haven't watched any anime in like a few years really,
- 25:43Speaker 4: And I'm going to call out a specific friend, a
- 25:47Speaker 4: friend of the show, Jason Wynn, who convinced me to
- 25:50Speaker 4: watch this show but also to go back and watch
- 25:52Speaker 4: a few other classic anime over the last year or
- 25:54Speaker 4: so that I kind of like always knew we're like, oh,
- 25:56Speaker 4: like everyone talks how good they were, like kill a kill,
- 25:59Speaker 4: and like I'll get them eventually. And it brought me
- 26:03Speaker 4: to this very specific news which is the my favorite
- 26:06Speaker 4: genre of anime, which this data end very much falls into,
- 26:09Speaker 4: is the let's satirize anime so much so that it
- 26:14Speaker 4: loops back to being sincere and genuine.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yes, I feel that completely.
- 26:20Speaker 4: And it is just it's the idea that like I think,
- 26:22Speaker 4: like we've danced around that first episode so much, but
- 26:25Speaker 4: like really how this show is like on its surface,
- 26:28Speaker 4: if you just like explained it to somebody or show
- 26:30Speaker 4: them the first episode, it's like all the things that
- 26:32Speaker 4: people go like that's the reason I don't like anime. Yeah,
- 26:35Speaker 4: but it's taking those tropes, those like meme worthy things
- 26:39Speaker 4: and turning them into like the reason why we can
- 26:43Speaker 4: then have a deeper analysis of these characters, why we
- 26:46Speaker 4: can like see past the trope into like the real
- 26:48Speaker 4: heart behind it that makes this show so magical and
- 26:51Speaker 4: worth discussing. And there is a long list of anime
- 26:55Speaker 4: that kind of do the same thing where they take
- 26:57Speaker 4: the like expected trope turn it on its head. But
- 26:59Speaker 4: because of that we then get like really memorable characters
- 27:02Speaker 4: and shows. Uh, and I think a lot of them
- 27:05Speaker 4: are older anime, so having a new one that does that,
- 27:08Speaker 4: it just feels really good.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Great point.
- 27:10Speaker 2: And I spent my journey watching over the first few
- 27:13Speaker 2: episodes was realizing the self awareness of the writing, like
- 27:16Speaker 2: in after the shock of the first episodes and by
- 27:19Speaker 2: episode two being like I think maybe they're a bit
- 27:21Speaker 2: self aware, but I can't really tell. Yeah, And then
- 27:23Speaker 2: episode three, okay, they've said some things that make this
- 27:26Speaker 2: is tongue in cheek okay, and that by episode far
- 27:29Speaker 2: I was like along for the ride.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Yeah, kill a kill is a is.
- 27:32Speaker 2: An interesting pull in that regard because it's like it
- 27:36Speaker 2: loops around that loop many times where it's like self aware,
- 27:41Speaker 2: but then it's also like very much doing the thing,
- 27:43Speaker 2: and then it's self aware again, and then it's doing
- 27:45Speaker 2: the thing like.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it kind of does that thing where like I
- 27:49Speaker 4: think even Dan to Dan like in the I've only
- 27:51Speaker 4: watched it through season two, and I feel like even
- 27:53Speaker 4: it does that a bit where it almost starts to
- 27:54Speaker 4: fall back on itself and then they kind of like
- 27:56Speaker 4: like they kind of keep a weird little like treadmill
- 27:58Speaker 4: going where it's like they can or but they keep
- 28:00Speaker 4: getting closer every pass. But yeah, definitely Kill a Kill,
- 28:04Speaker 4: Gordon Lagan. I think even try Gun I would argue
- 28:07Speaker 4: fits that mold as well of just like.
- 28:10Speaker 2: All right, I don't care, I don't care about for man,
- 28:15Speaker 2: I've I've stopped listening fifteen seconds ago. All right, very inspiring, Drew,
- 28:21Speaker 2: Thank you so much everyone.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Yeah inspired, I listened.
- 28:30Speaker 1: To the muse.
- 28:30Speaker 2: I just as soon as you started listening. Animes that
- 28:32Speaker 2: weren't the assignment for this episode. I'll just we'll get
- 28:37Speaker 2: to them, I suppose again.
- 28:38Speaker 4: For Chris mostly there's some I'm deciding to him. That's
- 28:41Speaker 4: that's that's what this is. I appreciated.
- 28:45Speaker 6: Oh good, bless Actually, Jason was the one he told
- 28:49Speaker 6: me to watch. One of the first shows I watched
- 28:53Speaker 6: was Kill a Kill, And it was because of Jason.
- 28:55Speaker 6: I was like, yo, huh.
- 29:00Speaker 4: I had I had a very similar text to him
- 29:01Speaker 4: after the first few episodes, and I was like to four,
- 29:03Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm sorry, I get it.
- 29:05Speaker 3: I would say that's a wild poll to say this
- 29:07Speaker 3: is your first anime watch killer Kill.
- 29:09Speaker 1: But then again, we made Matt watch Dandard are.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We really can't talk. You can't.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Okay, So let's get into more situations where we can
- 29:22Speaker 2: do more of that with words. Let Jason okay, Teams,
- 29:29Speaker 2: let's get possessed by the spirit of a Grandma and
- 29:32Speaker 2: go turbo mode into round one. Round one is called
- 29:39Speaker 2: IMDb Trivia, just a normal multiple choice trivia game to
- 29:43Speaker 2: kick things off. I've learned a lot of unhinged things
- 29:47Speaker 2: during the research of this, and I think you all
- 29:49Speaker 2: deserve to know them too. No, so I have here
- 29:53Speaker 2: a board of six words. I was I was gonna
- 29:56Speaker 2: draw a banana as well, but it kept looking too rude.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Teams will take turns picking a word, and each word
- 30:03Speaker 2: corresponds to a question, but the word might not be
- 30:05Speaker 2: the piece of trivia that you think it is. I'm
- 30:07Speaker 2: not that good with words. Get the question right for
- 30:10Speaker 2: a point easy, as simple as that point per word,
- 30:13Speaker 2: per question. I think this will help provide a lot
- 30:16Speaker 2: of context about Dan to Den for those of you who,
- 30:20Speaker 2: like me, had no idea about it until this instance.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Whatever this is.
- 30:27Speaker 2: So, we're going to begin with too fast, Granny, too
- 30:30Speaker 2: furious Granny. Would you like to pick a word? Chris,
- 30:33Speaker 2: you pick? Oh, I should probably read the words. Actually
- 30:35Speaker 2: this is a podcast, Julia, would you like to read
- 30:38Speaker 2: the words for me?
- 30:39Speaker 1: Vocal theme style, pitch, ban, and name.
- 30:46Speaker 5: I'm I'm drawing to pitch. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Okay,
- 30:52Speaker 5: we're going for pitch. Here is your question related to pitch?
- 30:56Speaker 5: The originally pitched manga story had one major difference. Momo
- 31:00Speaker 5: was to be the sole main character. But why was
- 31:03Speaker 5: this changed?
- 31:04Speaker 2: Is it a manga publishers felt the comedy of a
- 31:07Speaker 2: hot grandma with big naturals with land more with the
- 31:10Speaker 2: constant presence of a young male protagonist. So O Karun
- 31:13Speaker 2: was reluctantly added. B Manga publishers in the twenty twenties
- 31:18Speaker 2: reaffirmed a cultural belief that shown an anime should only
- 31:20Speaker 2: feature male protagonists. So O Karun was reluctantly added or
- 31:25Speaker 2: see creator tatsu Yukinobo identifies as an involuntary celibate and
- 31:29Speaker 2: felt the series needed a self insert. So O Karun
- 31:32Speaker 2: was proudly added, yo yo, what the fuck?
- 31:41Speaker 4: All three of those seems so plausible but equally wild.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:45Speaker 6: I I'm like, I mean it, obviously, it can't be
- 31:48Speaker 6: the Big Naturals one.
- 31:49Speaker 1: That's the first one that's so insane, And then you
- 31:52Speaker 1: kept reading them.
- 31:53Speaker 6: Yeah, And now that I've come back around to the
- 31:56Speaker 6: Big Naturals.
- 31:57Speaker 1: One, yeah, I feel like it's between and B.
- 32:00Speaker 3: But then again, I think like there's a part of me,
- 32:02Speaker 3: like a really sinister part of me that wants it
- 32:04Speaker 3: to be c.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Uh, there's a dog side and involuntarily sinister part of you.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Yeah, an involuntarily sinister part of me. Okay, So since
- 32:19Speaker 3: I was between A and B, let's do and you're feeling.
- 32:22Speaker 1: A well, he said, he was just feeling Big Naturals. Amen. Brother, Amen,
- 32:31Speaker 1: I'm so sorry.
- 32:32Speaker 4: I'm so sorry.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I've never heard you use them before.
- 32:35Speaker 4: I could see the turning right in my mind as
- 32:39Speaker 4: you did that.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Okay, I genuinely don't even remember what B was. Let's
- 32:49Speaker 4: go B, Yeah, B, you go and B.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Manga publishes in the twenty twenties refunded cultural belief that
- 32:56Speaker 2: shown an anime should only feature male protagonist. So Okaroun
- 32:58Speaker 2: was reluctantly added. Yes, yes, that's correct. That's the soap
- 33:02Speaker 2: box question of my research. But the creator didn't want
- 33:07Speaker 2: the character to be added. It just wouldn't get published
- 33:09Speaker 2: if they didn't add a male teenage character.
- 33:13Speaker 4: That's wild damn.
- 33:15Speaker 1: So they're like, we're gonna make someone that you like reluctantly.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I think it just adds to the self awareness of look,
- 33:21Speaker 2: this is you. Yeah, that's I feel like that's why
- 33:24Speaker 2: most of the story just happens to Oka run.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Yeah there totally.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Yeah, he is very like this.
- 33:32Speaker 4: He's the silent protagonist, but he's some hostal talks even
- 33:34Speaker 4: though it doesn't count or matter half the time.
- 33:37Speaker 1: The male loneliness epidemic. His genitals that get scattered, like
- 33:43Speaker 1: what what happened before that? His genitals are damnl.
- 33:49Speaker 4: They were stolen by a demon? Grandma, No, no, they were.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Scattered to the wind. All right, we're gonna move on.
- 33:57Speaker 1: So that's a point. By the way. Congratulations, you're too furious.
- 34:04Speaker 6: You didn't you didn't get us man with your adding
- 34:08Speaker 6: big naturals to one of the answers. Almost I caught
- 34:13Speaker 6: that you're trying to distract me.
- 34:14Speaker 4: I'm hoping tits are a choice in every answer.
- 34:17Speaker 1: There, I go.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Banana tolls. Would you like to pick a word from
- 34:22Speaker 2: the poet? Okay, I think there's a trick here.
- 34:24Speaker 1: What do you think the trick is?
- 34:25Speaker 5: Drew?
- 34:26Speaker 4: Notice ban and name If you move them together, it's banana.
- 34:31Speaker 4: I think banana is one of the.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Words that tracks. I can't fault that logic. Did they
- 34:36Speaker 1: find the secret word?
- 34:38Speaker 2: Yes, that's absolutely what I say. No, genuinely didn't notice that.
- 34:46Speaker 2: But that's that's a nice thing that I just picked
- 34:48Speaker 2: out that way.
- 34:49Speaker 4: You were going to like say like, oh, you tost
- 34:51Speaker 4: ban you mean banana and erase everything and leave me
- 34:53Speaker 4: in the other category, be me. And I was like, ah,
- 34:55Speaker 4: that's a fun little trick, and I started you. No,
- 34:58Speaker 4: I'm just you're just smarter.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Than this game. It's okay, true, you're banana pilled and
- 35:04Speaker 1: it's fine. I took the red banana pill bana banana
- 35:09Speaker 1: pill in cell.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, take ben. Okay, that's that's so clever. I
- 35:20Speaker 2: should have done that, damn it. Okay, your question about Ben.
- 35:25Speaker 2: How did the Dan to Dan anime avoid a banbaban
- 35:29Speaker 2: in the US by making a change to the first
- 35:31Speaker 2: episode when adapting Oh No, is it a censorship of
- 35:36Speaker 2: the sexual assault scene by not including the throbbing surpor
- 35:40Speaker 2: alien dicks b By replacing the two neighboring abandoned office
- 35:44Speaker 2: buildings with one office building and a dark tunnel to
- 35:47Speaker 2: avoid nine to eleven comparisons when explosions begin and the
- 35:50Speaker 2: buildings collapse, see by removing an image of President Barack
- 35:55Speaker 2: Obama and replacing it with an image of Supreme Leader Trump.
- 35:58Speaker 2: I'm going for my citizenship this year.
- 36:04Speaker 4: I loving this through line too. That's recurring a lot. Wow,
- 36:09Speaker 4: I really think it could be the nine to eleven things.
- 36:11Speaker 4: I could see me the kind of thing where like
- 36:13Speaker 4: it would be overlooked while like drawing it like just oh,
- 36:16Speaker 4: it's a city and buildings exploding.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Also, we're straight up not censoring nine to eleven stuff anymore.
- 36:23Speaker 4: No, you don't think so anymore.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I think that I think America's.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Fifees get hurt. I think banana is the term they
- 36:30Speaker 2: use in this, not fafe.
- 36:32Speaker 4: Sorry, but I still vaguely recalled the aliens having some
- 36:37Speaker 4: pretty like visually upsetting mechanical tools in places.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but like if we watched it online, that's different
- 36:46Speaker 2: than the version that aired on Adult Swim.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Oh I think considered that. So are you? You're leaning
- 36:54Speaker 4: to a the censored.
- 36:57Speaker 2: I feel like if there had been a straight up
- 36:59Speaker 2: Donald Trump shot, it would have been distracting to me
- 37:03Speaker 2: in a way that I.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, no, we would have noticed that. And that's
- 37:05Speaker 1: definitely a match. I cooled that one out.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, So you're feeling a they censor the weird
- 37:12Speaker 4: crotch machines.
- 37:14Speaker 2: I feel like the nine to eleven censoring is something
- 37:16Speaker 2: that would have happened in like the early twenty tens,
- 37:20Speaker 2: but is not like a thing anymore in anime.
- 37:24Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm feeling the first one going with eight.
- 37:27Speaker 4: I know with A I can follow you on that one.
- 37:29Speaker 2: I can go with the alien dick. Yeah, always go
- 37:31Speaker 2: with alien dick. Alien Dick's always an option.
- 37:33Speaker 1: It's not a it's.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Actually c what the log when Okarun is showing his
- 37:41Speaker 2: like magazines and alien things there in the manga, there's
- 37:44Speaker 2: a present picture of Obama, but because of recent media
- 37:49Speaker 2: threatenings and stuff like that, they were like oh shit,
- 37:51Speaker 2: we better change this, and it's like this Trump plucking guy.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Okay, no shit, I thought that was supposed to be
- 37:58Speaker 1: John F. Kenvin.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Remember well, I just assumed that if Okarun was reading
- 38:06Speaker 2: a cryptid magazine, Kennedy would have been about JFK.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it could well be that.
- 38:11Speaker 2: That's what it's intended to be, but a bunch of
- 38:14Speaker 2: red hat people have claimed it as their own.
- 38:16Speaker 4: I just googled the image. My god, it very much
- 38:19Speaker 4: is your correct. The handshake going on that is that
- 38:25Speaker 4: is a Trump one.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Oh sorry, I have to I have to marinate in
- 38:31Speaker 2: a second in the prospect of a red hat Danda
- 38:34Speaker 2: Dan Enjoyer, which is like, they're out there. I'm sure
- 38:38Speaker 2: they're out there, but I'd never considered their existence till now. Yeah,
- 38:42Speaker 2: that mainly in the YouTube comment sections, as we'll find out.
- 38:45Speaker 4: Oh no, I think that such magic of the red
- 38:49Speaker 4: hat culture in America is that, like you could give
- 38:52Speaker 4: them any media, no matter how anti like trumpion it is,
- 38:58Speaker 4: They're like, no, I don't see it that way. Like, no,
- 39:01Speaker 4: the big evil orangeing that's ruling the world and crushing
- 39:04Speaker 4: all of us is totally different. Not it's it's you're woke.
- 39:08Speaker 4: That's why.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Well media literacy. Yeah, yeah, all right, back on over
- 39:14Speaker 2: to too fast Granny, too furious Granny, the word if
- 39:17Speaker 2: you pay, you pick this time, Julia, I want to
- 39:19Speaker 2: go with the vocal. Okay, we're going with vocal. Yeah,
- 39:23Speaker 2: let's have a look at your question related to vocal?
- 39:26Speaker 2: Which real bands lead singer voice is the lead vocalist
- 39:30Speaker 2: of the anime's fictional band?
- 39:33Speaker 1: Is it higher Si Hi Hi?
- 39:37Speaker 4: I think it's she.
- 39:38Speaker 2: I'll be honest, Hiah, that's the I'll leave it all
- 39:41Speaker 2: in h Is it a ex Japan B Dragon Force
- 39:47Speaker 2: or C Mega Death.
- 39:49Speaker 6: I think it's B actually yea, because I just watched
- 39:53Speaker 6: that episode and I was trying to it sounded like
- 39:56Speaker 6: a very familiar voice and I was like, huh, I
- 39:58Speaker 6: wonder who that was, And it does sound like Dragon Force.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Dragon Force is a band, and I know that so true.
- 40:09Speaker 2: So is Yashi, thank you very much, and so is
- 40:15Speaker 2: Extra Panded Mega Death. For what it's with, Nah, no
- 40:19Speaker 2: is okay, So we'll go and be you're going to
- 40:25Speaker 2: be dragon Face. Yeah, it is dragon Face. I think
- 40:32Speaker 2: Drew wanted that question.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I'm so sorry.
- 40:36Speaker 4: No, genuinely, I saw a vocal. I'm like, it's gonna
- 40:38Speaker 4: be a voice acting one and if I get that
- 40:40Speaker 4: really embarrassed, so I'll skip that one. And then as
- 40:43Speaker 4: soon as you picked it, I'm like, that's gonna be
- 40:44Speaker 4: the music one, isn't it.
- 40:46Speaker 3: I thought it was gonna be like, what's the what's
- 40:48Speaker 3: the name of the band that sings the main theme song?
- 40:51Speaker 3: And I was like, oh, as soon as Matt says it,
- 40:54Speaker 3: I'll remember, But it wasn't that.
- 40:57Speaker 1: It probably will what it was?
- 40:59Speaker 4: Thank you? Ye hey?
- 41:03Speaker 1: Do you want to pick theme for oursdai? The whant
- 41:08Speaker 1: to go with?
- 41:09Speaker 4: Theme?
- 41:09Speaker 1: Alright?
- 41:10Speaker 4: Theme?
- 41:10Speaker 2: The opening theme song ohs and okay samples a song
- 41:15Speaker 2: by Bill Murray, not that one an older Bill Murray
- 41:19Speaker 2: from like the nineteen twenties.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I was like, who's older?
- 41:24Speaker 2: But what is the name of the hip hop outfit
- 41:27Speaker 2: who made the song? Is it a creepy nuts? Be
- 41:31Speaker 2: scary seeds? We'll see speaking balls. It's creepy nuts.
- 41:38Speaker 4: It's creepy nuts. But it was Julia just flawed, acknowledging
- 41:42Speaker 4: and nodding onto it like no, no, pretending that like
- 41:44Speaker 4: we were gonna get it, and then the immediate cracking
- 41:48Speaker 4: over b I don't think she heard. See.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I didn't near see because I was about to spit
- 41:53Speaker 1: take with what was it? Seeds? Scary? Scary?
- 41:59Speaker 2: I'm so glad that's pluralized. See with spooky balls. Okay,
- 42:06Speaker 2: if you're if you're.
- 42:07Speaker 4: Interesting, Yeah, if you're interesting, I am not interested in
- 42:10Speaker 4: spooky balls. I'll take my crazy nuts. What was the
- 42:13Speaker 4: first one to get crazy?
- 42:15Speaker 1: Creepy?
- 42:16Speaker 4: The first?
- 42:17Speaker 2: Almost nuts is a cereal creepy nuts is absolutely correct.
- 42:23Speaker 2: It's it's a banger theme song.
- 42:25Speaker 4: Come on, so good. Here's the entire thing right now.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Just everyone doing it a cappella out of sync because.
- 42:37Speaker 4: Dream.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Okay, we've got two words left on the board. It's
- 42:41Speaker 2: a very normal quiz. The trick was that I said
- 42:43Speaker 2: there'd be tricks. Okay those words, ah, style and name,
- 42:51Speaker 2: too fast to granny, too fast granny whatever whatever that is.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Too fast granny, too furious branny, too fast, granny, too furious?
- 43:00Speaker 2: Name?
- 43:00Speaker 1: What do you got?
- 43:02Speaker 4: I love it?
- 43:03Speaker 1: So you know her name isn't fast granny?
- 43:06Speaker 2: Right?
- 43:07Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 43:08Speaker 1: No, for sure. It was just being silly. Yeah, we're Corey,
- 43:15Speaker 1: We're going to have fun. I forgot that's what weaves do.
- 43:22Speaker 4: Show forever.
- 43:24Speaker 1: No, it means I get to be a silly one.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Okay, I kind of I kind of want to pick
- 43:29Speaker 3: style because I'm afraid of name.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Are you afraid of name? I'm always afraid of name.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Let's go style, style. You're going with style? Okay, here's
- 43:38Speaker 2: your question related to style. Author tatsu Yugonobo previously worked
- 43:44Speaker 2: as an assistant on which of the popular manga series
- 43:48Speaker 2: is it a Dora Hedoro b Rascal does Not Dream
- 43:54Speaker 2: of Bunny Girls and Pie or ce Chainsaw Man.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I haven't watch it.
- 44:01Speaker 3: I feel like it's a but just I feel like
- 44:05Speaker 3: I because someone told me that the creator was a woman,
- 44:10Speaker 3: and so I had to fact check it. None of
- 44:12Speaker 3: neither the person that made the anime nor the manga
- 44:15Speaker 3: is a woman, so obviously I have and they were
- 44:22Speaker 3: trying to be like, no, no, it's from the perspective
- 44:24Speaker 3: of a woman, and it's like, it's all I don't
- 44:27Speaker 3: think so again banana pilled, So okay, I'm trying to okay, Well,
- 44:42Speaker 3: you you said it was then was the manga the anime?
- 44:45Speaker 1: Uh manga series? Yes? It was essentially what they did before.
- 44:51Speaker 3: I feel like it looks more like Chainsaw Man, but
- 44:54Speaker 3: I don't know the second one. I don't, only I've
- 44:57Speaker 3: only seen one in three.
- 45:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I agree, I agree that that feels more similar,
- 45:05Speaker 6: But I also feel like it could be a trick.
- 45:07Speaker 4: And that went so deep on tricking us with anime.
- 45:11Speaker 6: He watched all of Chainsaw Man, went to the theaters
- 45:14Speaker 6: to watch the Rais arc.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Yep, you've got me.
- 45:18Speaker 4: Yep, He's all into those arcs just to fuck with us,
- 45:22Speaker 4: even though this is about the manga and not the credit.
- 45:29Speaker 3: My logic sound is that I think every time we've
- 45:32Speaker 3: picked B, it's right, it's been right true?
- 45:37Speaker 1: Is remotely track? Yeah, okay, I mean for us nice
- 45:47Speaker 1: I guide me, Chris. I feel like I feel like
- 45:52Speaker 1: I'm just going.
- 45:52Speaker 6: To meta game out of this one because I have
- 45:54Speaker 6: no I have no idea what the actual answer is.
- 45:56Speaker 6: I feel like B is way too out of wait,
- 46:00Speaker 6: way too out there.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Rascal does not dream of funny girl Simpie.
- 46:08Speaker 6: One thousand reached me as Matt found that name online
- 46:11Speaker 6: and thought it was funny and here. Yeah, I think
- 46:14Speaker 6: you're right, and so that's why I'm at aar C
- 46:18Speaker 6: and I and I do think you that you're right
- 46:20Speaker 6: that see that Chainsaw Man is is more similar, So
- 46:24Speaker 6: I'm down to go with that as well.
- 46:25Speaker 2: I'm not familiar with the c Yeah it's Rascal, No,
- 46:32Speaker 2: it's it's chin saw mine a good censorship, Yeah, alright,
- 46:46Speaker 2: And speaking of bananas, banana tolls on one choice, it's
- 46:50Speaker 2: name and.
- 46:51Speaker 4: It's the secret banana word though I said before, it's.
- 46:57Speaker 1: You got the whole banana.
- 47:00Speaker 4: Flip the board to the minion side.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Only one.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Right, the day that the little minion was born exactly,
- 47:12Speaker 2: and that we all have followed that faith for two
- 47:15Speaker 2: thousand years.
- 47:16Speaker 1: So Amnion millions are actually you know, they do actually
- 47:24Speaker 1: appear in the Old Testament.
- 47:29Speaker 2: I was trying to make a virgin birth joke, but
- 47:32Speaker 2: is better, oh God, that anything but immaculately.
- 47:40Speaker 6: But they are hermaphroditics, so you know, an argument could
- 47:44Speaker 6: be made, I'm.
- 47:45Speaker 4: Sure, which really easy. I want the Jurassic Park crossover.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Life finds Away. Damn it, God, I'm gonna go. I'm God,
- 48:05Speaker 1: God anime. Oh thanks for leaping it back. Okay.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Question related to name is the name Turbo Granny was
- 48:17Speaker 2: inspired by a nickname that the creator had as a child.
- 48:21Speaker 1: But what was that nickname?
- 48:22Speaker 2: Oh?
- 48:22Speaker 4: My god?
- 48:23Speaker 1: Is it a one hundred kilo granny, B young granny
- 48:29Speaker 1: or C slow granny.
- 48:31Speaker 4: I could see the young granny if they were like
- 48:33Speaker 4: a kid with like really like nerdy glasses or something,
- 48:36Speaker 4: and like the way they dressed. The one hundred k
- 48:39Speaker 4: granny seems really mean, like you're already so make them old. Yeah,
- 48:46Speaker 4: And then like the slow granny, like just he was
- 48:49Speaker 4: a really slow kid and they made fun of him
- 48:50Speaker 4: being slow like a granny Like bo seemed plausible. Do
- 48:56Speaker 4: you grain anyway? Go smart man?
- 49:00Speaker 2: I have no smart man credentials as far as grannies
- 49:04Speaker 2: are considered. I actually I discounted this one right off
- 49:10Speaker 2: the bat. I kind of feel like a hundred was
- 49:12Speaker 2: it kill a gram or killometer? One hundred kilo granny?
- 49:15Speaker 2: So kilo Graham, Okay, I kind of I'm kind of
- 49:18Speaker 2: feeling that, and I can't verbalize why.
- 49:21Speaker 4: I don't know, you know what, it seems weird enough
- 49:24Speaker 4: that among the things we've learned today from this trivia,
- 49:27Speaker 4: it's probably more plausible thanither two.
- 49:30Speaker 1: So again that I'm cool with that.
- 49:32Speaker 4: I'm cool with that one.
- 49:33Speaker 1: That's metagaming. But you know, some might say that that
- 49:36Speaker 1: granny probably has the biggest naturals. Some might say, you
- 49:41Speaker 1: are welcome to say that.
- 49:44Speaker 4: The creator had because he had like man boobs as
- 49:46Speaker 4: a kid, and this is what they called him. I mean,
- 49:47Speaker 4: he's so bad.
- 49:49Speaker 1: But let's take a hundred kilo Grinny.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Yeah, excellent wave of inspiration and excellent backing up the
- 49:56Speaker 2: logic of the madness. It is one hundred kilo Grinny
- 50:00Speaker 2: as her as a child.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Yeah, do we have a reason? Kilogram naturals save us again, Yep.
- 50:05Speaker 4: As they always do. I answered all life questions.
- 50:09Speaker 1: I think just just a husky kid.
- 50:12Speaker 4: I was one of those. That's all. I think.
- 50:14Speaker 1: That's all it was.
- 50:14Speaker 3: I I would I would have bet money that that
- 50:18Speaker 3: was not the answer. Wow, kids are bad at nicknames.
- 50:22Speaker 4: Just classic old bullying, bad at bullying.
- 50:26Speaker 2: This could have been some adult in his life's nickname
- 50:29Speaker 2: punch up. No, punch up is a different anime.
- 50:36Speaker 1: I don't know if you're telling the true that's the
- 50:38Speaker 1: end of round one.
- 50:39Speaker 2: That Let's ask Turbo Granny to calculate the latest scores.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Surely she can do it in record time. It's in
- 50:45Speaker 2: her name. Two fast Granny. Too furious Granny has three points,
- 50:51Speaker 2: but no, it'sals has two points.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Too fast.
- 50:59Speaker 2: And with that inspiring dance out of the way, up
- 51:01Speaker 2: next is round two. After these ads go add free
- 51:05Speaker 2: for free at patreon dot com, slash Gateleapers, or support
- 51:08Speaker 2: us for four dollars a month to see the faces
- 51:10Speaker 2: of these weeds back soon. Round two is called Heroes
- 51:21Speaker 2: and Villains. It's the game where our players will make
- 51:23Speaker 2: the case for who they think the real heroes and
- 51:26Speaker 2: villains if this series are However, they will only have
- 51:29Speaker 2: forty five tight seconds to make their case, because if
- 51:32Speaker 2: you can't convince me of something in forty five seconds,
- 51:35Speaker 2: I don't want to know about it. I'm the modern Electorate. Okay,
- 51:40Speaker 2: So we're gonna start with heroes. We're gonna hear everyone's heroes,
- 51:43Speaker 2: and I think we're gonna have Chris go first for
- 51:47Speaker 2: too Fast Granny, Too furious Granny.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Are you ready, Chris? Yes, The time starts now.
- 51:54Speaker 6: Okay, So we all know that the actual real life
- 51:58Speaker 6: hero of this entire show is my team's namesake, Terribo Grannie,
- 52:04Speaker 6: but specifically cat version of Turbo Granny. Okay, the protagonists
- 52:10Speaker 6: wouldn't be able to do a god damn thing if
- 52:13Speaker 6: it wasn't for Terrbou Greanny Cat form.
- 52:18Speaker 4: She is insightful.
- 52:19Speaker 6: She knows how the world works in a way better way,
- 52:23Speaker 6: in a more nuanced way. She trains freaking can like,
- 52:31Speaker 6: they wouldn't be successful in all of their crazy misadventures
- 52:35Speaker 6: if she didn't slide her little self into their backpack.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Times on sliding self into backpacks. That's that's a great choice.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Christ I'm going to save any judgment analysis at the end,
- 52:51Speaker 2: but you've picked a good path. I enjoyed it when
- 52:53Speaker 2: the cat was on screen.
- 52:54Speaker 4: I also just need to share, like, one of my
- 52:56Speaker 4: favorite things about her real quick is the fact that
- 52:58Speaker 4: she is voiced by the original will read a Orpulsa
- 53:00Speaker 4: from Power Rangers in the English dub Oh like made
- 53:06Speaker 4: me so happy. I was like, I knew I knew
- 53:07Speaker 4: his voice for some reason.
- 53:09Speaker 1: That's really so fun. That's crazy.
- 53:13Speaker 4: So to have her almost in like the Zordon role
- 53:15Speaker 4: but still a villain, was like, Ooh, I like this,
- 53:17Speaker 4: well done.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's cool. Not not not to help my opponent
- 53:22Speaker 1: out stricken all this in the record.
- 53:25Speaker 6: The record, the imposing team says it for me, I
- 53:27Speaker 6: think that's my point. You could just put that on our.
- 53:32Speaker 2: Maybe, Chris, you can offer some help in return for
- 53:33Speaker 2: Drew here as Drew take second to pitch his hero.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Are you ready, Drew, Yes, Dime stops. Now, Okay, we've
- 53:45Speaker 2: beat the dead horse. This show is so bloody weird
- 53:48Speaker 2: and like confusing and strange and like it's such an
- 53:51Speaker 2: easy turn off for people like as an anime, even
- 53:54Speaker 2: if they're fans to come into the show. So I
- 53:56Speaker 2: think the true hero of this anime or like the
- 54:00Speaker 2: fans who understand it in a way where they like
- 54:03Speaker 2: see past the like the the stuff that we all
- 54:06Speaker 2: like laugh at and joke at, and get to the
- 54:08Speaker 2: heart of it. The fans were able to look at
- 54:10Speaker 2: it and understand what the show is and are able
- 54:13Speaker 2: to bring other people into it and make them see
- 54:15Speaker 2: past the like facade of stupidity into the heart of
- 54:19Speaker 2: the show. Because it's fans like that that help other
- 54:21Speaker 2: people who think anime isn't an art form learn that
- 54:24Speaker 2: it truly is art and this show is a great
- 54:25Speaker 2: example of that. And I can give you two seconds back. Oh,
- 54:29Speaker 2: thank you so much, Savings. You've also picked a very
- 54:36Speaker 2: clever root that dream. Because I can't possibly critique too
- 54:39Speaker 2: much the facade of stupidity.
- 54:43Speaker 4: It's how I live by every day.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Why are my hands so sweaty? I'm so sorry.
- 54:51Speaker 4: I have that effect?
- 54:55Speaker 1: Okay, No, I am ready. Yeah, Julia, you can do
- 54:58Speaker 1: forty five seconds of improv.
- 55:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 55:01Speaker 2: Are you ready to pitch your hero of Dan to Den? Yes,
- 55:04Speaker 2: take it away.
- 55:05Speaker 3: This show would be absolutely nothing if it wasn't for
- 55:08Speaker 3: the wonderful rendering of Teenagerdom.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Teenager Dam is the real hero.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Of this because I wouldn't give a fucking damn about
- 55:16Speaker 3: the fights, about even the yokai, about the alien if
- 55:19Speaker 3: there wasn't a groundedness in relationships and caring and personal.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Experience that I've had can relate to.
- 55:25Speaker 3: I too have been in a situation where I don't
- 55:28Speaker 3: know if this is goodbye or goodbye, I'll see you tomorrow.
- 55:32Speaker 3: And then when someone who has more social whatever the
- 55:36Speaker 3: opposite of ineptitude is, uh like, helps me out.
- 55:40Speaker 1: That's aptitude.
- 55:42Speaker 3: It's so good and it feels so good to see
- 55:44Speaker 3: that represented, and it's happy, and they're moving towards a
- 55:46Speaker 3: really happy thing and it's great and it's gratifying.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Fantastic.
- 55:50Speaker 2: I think that's the most justification we've had in a
- 55:53Speaker 2: forty five second period. Fantastic speaking skills I.
- 55:57Speaker 4: Made to point out that I just made a dumb
- 55:59Speaker 4: joke actually corrected me. It was like the opposite aptitude
- 56:04Speaker 4: just dropped the end. You're like a word.
- 56:08Speaker 1: I thought you said aptitude.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Aitudeitudeude YouTube, okay, teenage dumb, fantastic, even if it's just
- 56:24Speaker 2: like a fun list of things that I now have
- 56:26Speaker 2: here of potential heroes. He also thought it was such
- 56:31Speaker 2: sincerity as well. Fantastic. Yeah, you're in it.
- 56:34Speaker 5: I love it.
- 56:34Speaker 1: It's great. Okay.
- 56:35Speaker 2: And finally, Coreydy, you'll pitch you think the real hero
- 56:39Speaker 2: of Dan to Dan's time stots now, okay, I think
- 56:42Speaker 2: the real hero of the show is the Japanese high
- 56:46Speaker 2: school sex ed system. Because O Karoon's dick and balls
- 56:51Speaker 2: fully disappear, and he is able to talk about it
- 56:55Speaker 2: in a frank way with a trusted adult in his life.
- 56:59Speaker 2: He's able to talk about it with like his classmates,
- 57:04Speaker 2: like he doesn't have any kind of internal like, oh
- 57:07Speaker 2: my god, I did this, this happened because I'm having
- 57:10Speaker 2: sexual thoughts or like this is just what puberty is like.
- 57:14Speaker 2: He's like able to parse what happened in a way that, frankly,
- 57:18Speaker 2: I don't know that I would have been able to
- 57:20Speaker 2: as a high schooler because I went through the American
- 57:22Speaker 2: sex head system, not the Japanese one.
- 57:25Speaker 6: Fantastic, Oh my god, do you remember the characters who's
- 57:33Speaker 6: like the principal of the school.
- 57:35Speaker 4: Oh oh yeah.
- 57:36Speaker 1: I just want to say it checks out, It checks.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Out, And I would like to cite that the opposition
- 57:43Speaker 2: has brought that piece of evidence into motions. Now we go,
- 57:45Speaker 2: and now it's all fat and even for both sides
- 57:47Speaker 2: have just done that for each other. Look, my high
- 57:50Speaker 2: school sex head teacher told us that if you had
- 57:52Speaker 2: sex with someone, you gave them a piece of your
- 57:54Speaker 2: soul forever, and you would never get that soul back.
- 57:58Speaker 2: And I should tell from people auras who was missing
- 58:01Speaker 2: pieces of their soul that that's such a roundabout way
- 58:06Speaker 2: of saying, I know which of you kids of virgins? Yes, yes,
- 58:10Speaker 2: oh my god, poor Americans fuck the same straight up, god,
- 58:17Speaker 2: exact same.
- 58:18Speaker 1: Okay, I mean I'm gonna sit in rank these will
- 58:20Speaker 1: you do that? Yeah?
- 58:22Speaker 4: You reminded me of the dominatrix principle of the school.
- 58:26Speaker 4: And just like the fact that that was a thing
- 58:29Speaker 4: that occurred and is like so swept under the rug
- 58:32Speaker 4: and forgotten about that it doesn't even come up in
- 58:35Speaker 4: like insanity of the sort. Oh yeah, there's schools principles
- 58:38Speaker 4: of Dominatrix and they're wrapped up.
- 58:41Speaker 3: In their own little teenagery lives.
- 58:43Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. The world is crazy, but they're just
- 58:46Speaker 1: thinking about each other.
- 58:49Speaker 2: If you had a teacher that did a BDSM sex
- 58:52Speaker 2: scene to another teacher while you were at school in
- 58:55Speaker 2: front of you, it would not fade into the background, no,
- 58:59Speaker 2: but it.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Did for them.
- 59:01Speaker 4: Point because it's so there you go, and as fans
- 59:05Speaker 4: of the show, we understand what that means and we're
- 59:08Speaker 4: able to discern the message behind it and look past
- 59:12Speaker 4: the silly penis jokes.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Okay, Chris, now your turn.
- 59:17Speaker 4: Granny was also there. She was on campus.
- 59:22Speaker 5: Sorry.
- 59:22Speaker 2: I wasn't paying attention to any of your extra points.
- 59:28Speaker 4: The best I made really good extra points. I love
- 59:33Speaker 4: extra points.
- 59:34Speaker 2: You all made such good cases for who the real
- 59:36Speaker 2: hero of the fandom is. I think I'm going to
- 59:39Speaker 2: go Drew. I'm gonna give you two points. I like
- 59:43Speaker 2: that you you played into the breaking through the silliness,
- 59:47Speaker 2: but it felt like, as a non fan, out was
- 59:48Speaker 2: being lectured a little bit, and I didn't like that.
- 59:53Speaker 2: We're gonna go with cat version of Turbo Granny for
- 59:55Speaker 2: three points. For Chris, it's shouting out a character. It's like, look,
- 59:59Speaker 2: I was glad it started us off so that everyone
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: can understand how this round is supposed to go, and
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: then everyone else could subvert it. You played an excellent role,
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: but I can only got three points for that.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: I'm surprised I got that many.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: So we're gonna go four points for Julia for teenage
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: and dumb. Great concept, earnestly shouted out, and it is.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: It's absolutely true. The show would be not much without
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: it be shit but for pointing out the excellent Japanese
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: high school sex education system.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: The five points are going.
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: To Corey.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: A team Wise, that means we each get seven.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: Yes, all right?
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Is everyone ready to pitch their villains? Should we get
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: a bit negative?
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: That's what people like.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Tests, all right? And I think we're gonna go in
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: reverse order this time. That seems like the fairest. So Corey,
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: we're gonna start with you pitching your villain for Dan
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: to Dan.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: Are you ready?
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Yes? Yes? Cool?
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Forty five seconds start now.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: I think the villain is the relationship between Momo and
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: her grandmother because The fact that they can't have an
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: earnest conversation and they are so caught up in conflict
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: with each other contributes a huge amount to basically everything
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: else that happens and the suffering that the rest of
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: the characters experience. So we don't see all of that relationship.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: We come in part way. But I think that the
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: fact that they are constantly like fighting and that that
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: I mean, it has to be resolved on screen, but
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: the fact that it's not resolved when this like spiritual
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: scary thing happens to Okarun is what kicks off everything.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: So I think that's the villain excellent point. I'm glad
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: you're back to serious academically. You threw me off with
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: the quite big naturals minions.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Immaculate conception of Minion just granting with a pair of
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: minions talked to her chest. That's big natural. Yeah, those
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: are the big naturals I'm talking about. That's what I meant,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: That's that's what that's what you ben.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: It's a It's a great point about the relationship, though,
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: is uh is an upsetting part of the series, and
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: how much could be resolved if they just they just
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: just talked yeah, and.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: They like stick to it too. They don't like let
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: it just like magically go away because you said things
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: just get better. It's it's like their relationship is still
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: hindered by everything before this.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Julia, you ready to pitch your villain
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: for Dan to den Yes, time starts now.
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: The actual real ass villain is uh Okoroon because he
- 1:02:47Speaker 7: is pushing away everyone as much as possible, and Momo
- 1:02:51Speaker 7: has to drag him by his teeth.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: That's not a phrase, but just to like be a
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: normal ass human.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: And also, as was pointed out before things happened to him,
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: he's not doing anything and when he tries, he's not
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: that great at it, and it's only because of Turbo
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Granny that he has any kind of all relevance to
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: this story. And every he's obsessed with getting his balls
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: and his penis back. Okay, why is there so much
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: like h genitalia like necessity? You know, if once he
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: gets that one ball, that should be fine.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: I can't.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: I can't believe that you said that the hero was
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: teenager dumb, and then you condemn Okoroun for acting in
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: very classic like male teenagery ways, like the two are
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: one and the same. Hey, he could still be a villain. Yeah,
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: I didn't say the arguments needed to be consistent. Ah,
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: I was obsessed with getting my dick and balls back
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: as a team.
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: Backstory time.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Well, you see, I gave too much of my soul
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: to somebody. Damn.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Oh shit, No, that was great, Julia, excellent. I basically
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: felt like he was the villain of the piece. So
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: you're playing to your audience very well. Uh okay, so
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: we are going to now move to Drew, who will
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: be pitching his villain.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Are you ready ready? Time starts now.
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: So I'm gonna regret this because you already said you
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: didn't like the first round of this, and I'm gonna
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: double down on my previous one. And the villain of
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: the series is the rest of the fucking anime community
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: and fans, because there are so many people who watch
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: this show just for the shits and giggles of penis
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: are oh my god, they're in their underwear for a
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: full fucking episode, or the really creepy episode in season
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: two with the bath house thing, which like people have
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: like been way too into in a creepy way, but
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: like the fact that this show has this whole idea
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: of like, let's subvert expectations and like play with the
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: genre and like ho arize it. And then there's people
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: with no media literacy watching it going like, no, this
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: is good because girls show boobies and not the the
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: important story stuff that is amazing and heartfelt while having boobs.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Excellence find a line while having boobs.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: I think you might have done well to stick to
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: your argument and do the other side of the coin.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: The I don't read into that how I feel about
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: anime fans. But yeah, and Chris had to reminisce about
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: the Bathhouse episode for a second.
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: I realized what face I made. I couldn't.
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: I genuinely can't even remember what scene that was. That
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: was me not remembering, But it didn't look great from
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: his zume perspective. To realize that after it very much
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: seemed like the what episode? Oh yeah, Oh no, I
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: didn't remember that memory.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Oh Chris, are you ready to pitch your villain? I'm
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: ready the time stats now, So the the the real
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: villain of this show is the fear of the unknown.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: It's the unknown that is the villain. Just think about
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: it time in Memoriam.
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: It's it's it's aliens, it's cryptids, it's what people have
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: always been afraid of, and even more so on like
- 1:06:20Speaker 6: a more interpersonal way, it's the it's okaroon, his fear
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: of He doesn't he never had any friends before, he
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: never had any close relationships before.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: He's terrified of that.
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: Uh momo, she's terrified of of committing anymore. Like she
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: she's always afraid of what other people are going to
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: think of our very like teenage things. But that's essentially
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: you boil all of it down, is to the fear
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: of the unknown. And that's all I got. And the
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: and Turbo Granny is there too.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: Bringing it back.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: Brilliant stuff. Yeah, I mean fear of the unknown. Yeah,
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: it's a big one. It's I'll say it's a big figure.
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: It's it's something that I could think of in the moment.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: So I'm not doing this to prove my point, but
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: it does invertly prove my point though. With the fandoms
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: and like people who don't read the show properly, how
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: we've had such amazing conversation about the show, and I
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: don't think we've once touched on aliens or monsters in
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: the slightest with the exceptionally like Turbo Granny and even
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: then like he cat.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Form character.
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: Like just there on. They like this is a show
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: where an alien merges with a fucking luckness monster who
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: can fire super lasers, and that is just unnecessary information
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: for anything.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: I mean, I do like Salaryman Shrimp.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: Show. Have you talked about Man Shrimp yet?
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: Fuck in the second season is the cutest fun thing
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: I watched the second season a little bit just to
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: see you. I could have named him as a hero
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: or a villain.
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: He's just kind of there.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: I was trying to think of how to make him
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: a hero, but I just didn't have enough juice.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: You didn't have enough milk milk.
- 1:08:05Speaker 8: We are in sync, and I don't know that's a
- 1:08:08Speaker 8: good thing or a bad thing. Milk milk is bloody,
- 1:08:15Speaker 8: Milk is.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Blood all right, I got some got some rankings here, Drew.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: It's paid off. I'm giving you the five points down.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: It's some of those points are retroactively for the previous
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: one as well. It's one collective thing. Yeah, it's a
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: body of work. Thank you to the academic. It's replacing collective.
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: Thing with balls, big natural. It's not the same thing, and.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: Then we're gonna go with I'm gonna get four points
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: to Julia for okarroom because that's who I actually feel
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: like is the villain of the piece.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Matt, I knew that that's I did it well, it worked.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: We're gonna go three points to Chris for fear of
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: the unknown, because yes, the unknown does cause some fear
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: the relationship. Look, I think it's a smart answer. I
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: think it's a really clever being punished for being earnest, genuinely.
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: That's happened twice now in a row. I'm senting a theme.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: Okay, that is the end of the round. Let's ask
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: Ara to calculate the latest scores. Oh, she's busy crying
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: at her own backstory. Fair enough to speak to her
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: a lot. You sit down with a cup of tea.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: I've got the scores, so too fast, Granny, too furious.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Grannie have seventeen points. Banana Itals are just behind with
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: sixteen points.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Nice.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Round three next after these commercials from Chakita, or as
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: I call them, Big Banana back soon.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: Round three is called answers in the comments. It's the
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: guessing game where we venture into the second worst place
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: on the internet. The YouTube comments section the first worst
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: place for Chancha Chan. I've been so down with this
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: joke the whole time, but I think that for Chana,
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Chan just has turned it around.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: For me, it makes sense. I want more. It's come
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: back around.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Okay, I will start reading a genuine YouTube comment that
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: I found in the comment section below a scene from
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: the Dan to Dan anime. When you think you recognize
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: the scene, buzz in by yelling out your team name
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: and describe that scene for me. Get it right, and
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: you get lots of points if you get it early,
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: and then a middle amount of points if you get
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: it in the middle of the comment, and a small
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: amount of points if you need to hear the full comment.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: You only get one buzz in per player per comment,
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: so you could take the risk of have one person
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: go in early, knowing that maybe your partner could save
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: you and buzz in a bit later on. But if
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: you get it wrong, you're out of that comment.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: Chris, this is going to be really embarrassing since we
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: were both watching today.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't remember shit, dude, damn thing.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: So here is the first genuine YouTube comment in Japan.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: This song is associated with sports festivals and in America
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: it's associated with horse racing. Between the spotlight the bananatles. Yes, Corey,
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: the scene where they are fleeing the big crab after
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: they've escaped the baths, that is exactly what I have
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: here because I of big crabs, so I had to
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: crab sequence absolutely yeah, where they played like that.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Uh, it just it just hit and you finally arrived
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: at my level. I'm so sorry.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: N Oh brilliant And because of that, and forgetting it
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: so early, four points yeah early in the comments, deserve
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: fantastic four points for banana toles.
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: I thought I had it too, and I was like,
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: the worst case he gets it wrong, Oh buzz it
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: and save the day.
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: Nope, Corey came to play everyone wake up. Here is
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: your next scene and the comment below that scene. Again,
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: these are real comments found in the wild bro. I
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: was watching episode three last night and fell asleep around
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: the part where GG cussed body was defeated, and woke
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: up in the middle of night binge watching and I
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: could not comprehend where I was. I still had the
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: TV on max volume when I went to sleep, and
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: when I woke up, all I heard was loud ass
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: rock metal music.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: Granny, Granny, Granny. I was going to say that it
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: was Drue.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I heard Banana before Granny.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I said, oh oh yeah, Granny.
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: I guess in that cause is it was me? Because
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: I will then describe this as the this person clearly
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: woke up during the heavy metal dragon Force performance of
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: the band whose name I'm already forgetting as they tried
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: to expel Gg's evil eye.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: That's what I was looking for, attempting to rid the
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: evil eye from Gg's body. Yes, for two points, you
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: absolutely get that.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Gotta say I can't say, oh, I have to say granny.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: All right, next genuine YouTube comment, what scene are they
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: referring to? The animation is very cool, Stop saying peacor right,
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: that's fairy enough gobbling balls. But got to say her
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: skill is in redibly creative. Clap emoji, clap emoji, clap emoji,
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: hiddan vibes. And I really liked how smart the fighting was,
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: the detail of predicting move and not the sped was brilliant,
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: and that even if Turbo has superior speed, she was checkmated. Incredible,
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: weak but skilled moment.
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: Granny is this whenever they finally get Turbo Granny and
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: Giant Crab on the train tracks in Granny.
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: Know what this is?
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: I'm afraid, but thank good, guess good, guess It's back
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: open again. As I continue the comment, could you start
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: the comment over?
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: I can't.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: I'm afraid.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: Okay, I suppose for one point afterwards, but here's the
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: rest of the comment. Incredible, weak but skilled moment. The
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: era of the only sin has ended, The era of
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: the guilf has begun again.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Genuine YouTube bananas.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: I mean it's from one point, we're kind of the
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: other of the thing. Is this when uh her grandmother
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: shows up to beat up coming and save the day?
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: It is Indeed, it's Granny Vsus Grannymo's grandma arrives to
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: fight to about Granny.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: Wait, wait, that's not That's not what I said.
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: I said.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: The demon before that.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: I was describing when Granny When when Momo's Granny came
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: and defeated Turbo Granny on the train?
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: Yeah, on the train, Yeah like she.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: Oh, I thought it was I thought it was outside
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: the house, but maybe I'm thinking of a different let
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: me scene. There's the scene outside the house with the
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: bat where she's beating possessed okaroon. And then there's the
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: scene on the train where she's like.
- 1:15:44Speaker 4: Set up all the cursed thing he's and the train
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: will pull her through.
- 1:15:48Speaker 6: Yeah, because Julie said that, I was like, I genuinely
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: can't think of anything any other point where they fought
- 1:15:54Speaker 6: us granny clash.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: Oh it's whenever, Okay, this is whenever uh the grandmother
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: first shows up and like, uh, Momo is knocked out.
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: Oh, into the curse circle on the ship.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: It is when the era of the Guild starts. True,
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: that's the episode title, right.
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: Genuinely I would believe that.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: No points, no points, Yeah, okay, no points.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: But there are still two more genuine scenes and two
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: more genuine YouTube comments. Let's move on to scene number four.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Here it is I wanted to go to Japan my
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: whole life. I finally went recently. My mom loves to travel,
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: so she surprised me with a trip. We went and
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: we had a blast. We went to a cafe. She
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: has no idea what's about to happen. We are in
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: there as foreigners, laughing at what we experienced. We are
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: laughing at the energetic energy these girls are doing to
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: this fuck Oh my god, that was at the exact
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: same time. I had Beenana and Grinnie at the same time.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: But Dre is coming the second time.
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: Just I'm just gonna double down, maybe mathematically if I
- 1:17:10Speaker 6: if I say it twice, if I say the second time,
- 1:17:14Speaker 6: maybe that.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Was just because what I'm it was at the same time.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: We're gonna give it to Chriss.
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: For granted, it's when uh, this is I believe this
- 1:17:23Speaker 6: is a scene where O Karoon goes to where Momo
- 1:17:25Speaker 6: works at the Weird Tea House and they uh, and
- 1:17:29Speaker 6: it's and they're all very uncomfortable.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: Banana banana bana. That's the correct not a weird tea house.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: It's a made cafe.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: Yeah, that is.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: It is technically true. But he was describing this accurately enough.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: If this was actually you would have gotten if this
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: was I'm very unactually, codd.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I'm married to that. That'smate.
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: That's that's one hundred percent of compliment that it's out
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: of respective. I'm currently binge watching the show myself.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so this person describes how they, as a foreigner,
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: were laughing at the situation that was happening, and then
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: the rest of the comment they talk about like douchebag
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: American influencers who are disrespectful, and it's like, mate, that's you,
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: but you're not making any money off of it.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: I don't exploit them. I just laugh at them without
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: for no money. Yeah, we gotta find the guy who
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: did this.
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: My villains.
- 1:18:28Speaker 8: This is it?
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: Yeah, Oh my god, this was the comment I thought
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: of when you mentioned that.
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: Okay, we have three points, by the way, Chris, three
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: nice hell yeah, one one fight? You did, one final scene,
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: one final comment here it is? Are they trying to
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: show off how perfectly they translated the lines and selected
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: the dubbed voice actors. Are they trying to boast about
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: the dubbed version? Dan to Dan is originally an anime
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: produced for terrestrial bro cast, so please don't treat it
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: so carelessly?
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: Are you bat at advertising? Netflix?
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: Does the order of the episodes matter for streaming? Why
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: are they promoting season one episode eight now? It's fine
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: if your original anime exclusives flop, but please don't cause
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: trouble for the Japanese industry. Is this an announcement that
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: one ball has returned and they're now searching for a
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: second one?
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Get it together? Granny, Yes, Julia.
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: Good luck whenever uh Momo thinks that she sees the
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: ball on tarro the mannikin, No.
- 1:19:37Speaker 6: That's not it, but that's a good guess. Ah uh Greennie, Yes, Chris.
- 1:19:42Speaker 6: Is this the scene closing slash recap at the end
- 1:19:47Speaker 6: of episode seven?
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: Could you describe it? No?
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: I thought you were trying to trick us.
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: No, but I like that again, far more clever than
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: I put into this game, Drew Corey, and he yes,
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: true guessing for a point? Is this the like end
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: of episode recap? Like next time?
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: On moment where it reveals I can never remember her
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: fucking name the pink haired girl finding the gold ball?
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: Ira think you don't know why I can never remember
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: her name her finding the gold ball.
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: It's not her finding the gold ball. No, Corey, there's
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: one last potential guess. I I got nothing. That's okay.
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: This was the clip titled Playball. After finally retrieving one
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: golden ball, the group looks to return it to Okaroon
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: in an unconventional way.
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: Oh fun when they do the when she pitches it?
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: When Yeah, not that you'd have been able to tell
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: that from the comments, because this person chose to spend
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: their life and time ranting up corporations.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: On a clip of a hot milk g mill throwing
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: a golden ball at a child.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: It's way, that's why you post things to change the world.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: You gotta put it in the YouTube comments. Otherwise how
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: are people going to know?
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: I think actually the cat was throwing the ball, and
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: the grand and is.
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: She was.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: She was trying to prevent it from happening for some reason,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: for fun. Yeah.
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: Also the fact that turbo granny with no powers, that
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: a cat body can still pitch a ball. That that
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: fast is like saying something for a plushy.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: I mean magic.
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: Did not consider she magic?
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: All right? That is the end of round three? She magic.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: Let's inexplicably hot grandmother to calculate the latest scores anyone else.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: I can't explain why she's hot.
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: There are really solid reasons, her ability to kick so
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: much ass and her great tits.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're just saying, no, we've we've devolved to
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: big TETs.
- 1:22:03Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: I miss it when we said now Yeah, same crime,
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: crab trels, big really bigs. You can tell it's almost
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: time for the final round. Yeah, too fast, granny, too
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: furious Granny, you are on twenty points, but Bananatals are
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: now in the lead with twenty two points. Oh yeah, faster,
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: but it can all change in the quick fire round.
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: Before we get to the quick fire round, let's talk
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: prizes this episode. Star Prize is the concept of found
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: family via shared traumatic experiences. It's not funny, but it's
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: the theme of the show. Penalized for being earnest earlier.
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: Yeah, puts away from you.
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I've honestly don't know what role I'm supposed to
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: play this whole time. So but all the anime tropes
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: not at all, but our winning team will all will
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: receive their opponents bananas. Up next is our crucial quick
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: fire around. But first we must play one final set
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: of ads, and then when we return, we'll repeat the
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: last three minutes of plot and action before moving on
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: to a new plot point. Even though you were in
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: fact paying attention.
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: Alchemist, I'm definitely leaving Grandmarmar.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: Our final quick fire around will test your broader pop
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: culture knowledge and it's called Canka. Can you recognize these
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: Danda Dans? In this game, I will give our players
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: clues to a Dan from pop culture history. Thus close
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: will be in the style of an otaku anime protagonist
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: confidently confidently describing the dan in question, which is something
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: I set myself a week ago.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: What's I'm an anime protagonist? Is that how they talk? Sweet?
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: There is a classic gate Leapers twist. You need to
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: say Dan Da before the Dan in your answer.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: But we have to but we have to buzz in
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: by saying our name, So I would be like Granny
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: Danda and then the last name or then the.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: Run it onto Dan wherever it falls in the name. Okay, yeah,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: so yeah, okay, I'm not gonna name. I was like
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: thinking of saying it.
- 1:24:36Speaker 6: I can only think of one right now, and I'm
- 1:24:38Speaker 6: keeping it locked. I've got two up here.
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: Well, we'll do an example question to see if it's
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: one of the ones you each have like it.
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: Oh, I know this Dan.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: He's got a gun and a suit and a car
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: and a banana banana banana. Yes, Cory Danda, Daniel Craig
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: is indeed, and that's exactly how you would answer it.
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: I feel I'm safe. This was not yours.
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: No, it wasn't mine.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: Okay, uh interrupt me at any point, just as Corey
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: did so perfectly.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: Are we ready? Yeah, yeah, okay, let's do this. Oh.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: I know this Dan.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: He's really good at hailing a taxi, especially in the
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: city of Philadelphia. A little short in stature, which makes

- 1:25:23Speaker 2: indeed Danny Devita.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: Oh I was like Stuart Little, wasn't.

- 1:25:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I have been on a first This is the
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: only one I had locked up.
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: This is Dan to Daniel Radcliffe.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: All right, we've used Updrew's ances, but it is Radcliffe. Okay.
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: Oh I know this Dan.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: He's a half a but not like Danny DeVito is ha.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: His friend Nick gave him lots of powers, which makes

- 1:26:06Speaker 1: that being an extra Dan.

- 1:26:17Speaker 2: these last few years because he joined a cult, but
