- 0:26Today, we explore how embracing the good news of Christ transforms not just
- 0:32our spiritual walk, but also how we connect and communicate with our spouses,
- 0:37even through life's challenges. Here's part two.
- 0:42Yesterday, we had a reality check, and we referred to the current trending reasons
- 0:47that challenge meaningful conversations between spouses.
- 0:50If you missed it, be sure to check yesterday's podcast episode before proceeding to this second part.
- 0:55There's a pinch of pain when we intentionally confront the reality of our shortcomings.
- 1:01It's not that we're putting ourselves into condemnation or self-pity,
- 1:04which are not aligned with God's grace, mercy, and love.
- 1:08It's about establishing healthy self-awareness and humbling ourselves to the
- 1:13reality of our shortcomings, which, in fact, we all have.
- 1:17We need to have a clear view of the bad news to better appreciate the good news.
- 1:22Regarding the complicated entanglement of unprocessed pain and disappointment
- 1:26we face, it often feels like we are already grappling with hopelessness.
- 1:31This is a common reaction when encountering difficult circumstances,
- 1:35primarily because we might have strayed and lived a life apart from God.
- 1:39One of the consequences of being away from Him is losing our strong connection
- 1:43to the living hope in Jesus Christ.
- 1:46Two things will take place if we decide to commit to the good news that Jesus
- 1:51Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins and provide us with a living hope.
- 1:56One, our conversion to this truth and the declaration of a change in our path.
- 2:01In this sense, having quality conversations with our spouse.
- 2:05And two, sanctification, which is the continuous choice to affirm our declaration
- 2:10of this good news while facing challenges and tests as we prioritize conversations with our spouse.
- 2:17It is a common mistake to come to faith expecting immediate change in our lives
- 2:22without understanding that our response to the good news is just the beginning
- 2:26of a lifelong journey of restoration, relearning, and rejoicing.
- 2:30We will face challenges along the way such as, 1.
- 2:34The brokenness of this world, which could cause us to lose focus in reference
- 2:39to this week's focus, on establishing a habit of valuable conversation with our spouse.
- 2:442. The weakness of our flesh when we witness our partner losing their attention. Or, 3.
- 2:51The existence of Satan who will tempt us to fail in our commitment,
- 2:55like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5 verse 8.
- 3:00This truth applies not only to our intent to improve our marriage by initiating
- 3:05valuable conversation but to every aspect of our lives that we want to surrender to God.
- 3:10Sadly, many still hold the misconception that merely performing religious activities
- 3:16will change the course of their lives.
- 3:18Coming to faith, recognizing the authority of God, understanding the sacrifices
- 3:23of Jesus Christ on the cross, and embracing the influence of the Holy Spirit
- 3:28is a journey of intentional discipleship in heart and mind.
- 3:32True conversion means allowing God's truth to change our hearts and minds.
- 3:37Initially, we realized we needed help for our marriage.
- 3:41Eventually, this realization led us to a genuine desire for a transformed life.
- 3:46It hasn't been an easy journey and indeed requires continuous learning.
- 3:51So, if you're new to faith or have been journeying through Christianity for
- 3:54a while but have never had a chance to pause and understand what it truly means
- 3:59to have a new life with Christ.
- 4:00We highly encourage you to consider the study course, The True Life Journey,
- 4:05Discipleship, and Mission.
- 4:07Let's change that misconception in faith. Let's embrace a new life and a marriage
- 4:12anchored in Christ Jesus.
- 4:14This defines that it's not about religiosity, but about a true relationship
- 4:18with Christ and the journey with Him toward a transformed life and relationships, such as marriage.
- 4:24Colossians 2 verses 6-7 says, Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the
- 4:30Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him
- 4:35and established in your faith,
- 4:37just as you were instructed and overflowing with gratitude.

- 5:15Thank you for joining us for this powerful step in our journey toward healthier.
- 5:20Christ-centered conversations. Remember, true change begins when we allow God's
- 5:25truth to shape our hearts and minds.
- 5:27Let's commit to a life of ongoing restoration, trusting that with Christ as
- 5:32our foundation, we can create marriages rooted in grace, love, and understanding.
- 5:38Keep walking with Him and keep making time to talk, because in those conversations,
- 5:42we find the real pathway to hope and healing. Until tomorrow,
- 5:47stay rooted, stay encouraged, and stay in Christ.
