Universal City is deploying two high-tech robots called Daxbots next month to scan sidewalks and gather data for safer, more accessible pedestrian paths—especially for older residents. Funded by a $94,000 budget allocation, the project kicks off September 7th, covering 12 miles over one to two weeks with human observers nearby. The robots, which emit R2-D2-like sounds, will measure width, slopes, curb ramps, and hazards—all to ensure compliance with ADA standards and improve walkability for everyone.
