- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Hello and welcome to T-Bone Sports One Fan all game.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: This is Wednesday, August 18th.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: So last Friday, the Broncos had their very first preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: It was a, you know, typical first preseason game.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: The defense looked great.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: They only allowed one touchdown the entire game.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: And the other thing they also were able to do is have a pick six at the end of the first half.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Sam Ellinger looked Ellinger looked good, and along with Jared Stinnham.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: You know, Jared Sinnham had had some good passes.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: He was able to connect on some really, really good, clean, crisp passes.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: He had a big one to Cortland Sutton to the seven-yard line, which led to their first touchdown of the game.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: And, you know, all around, you know, good first preseason game.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: We all know Bo Nicks did not play on the Astro Turf there in Atlanta just for safety to make sure his ankle didn't get hurt again.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: But Friday night is the second preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, and we do know that Bo Nicks will be playing in this game.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: How many reps or how many series he gets?
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Not entirely clear yet, but I'm gonna probably guess somewhere between 10, 15 snaps somewhere in there.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: You know, maybe maybe the first quarter.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Most of the rest of the starters will probably play a little bit more into that.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: And then obviously we know the second quarter, second half will between Jared Sinneman and Sam Ellinger again to see who is gonna win that backup quarterback role.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: You know, we we know RJ Harvey and and these guys are are playing well.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Do we see you know Jane Jarrett Waddle, maybe again, you know, is is you know, where where do we think his injuries are?
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: Is is he gonna be well enough to play here?
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: You know, in the preseason.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Again, he he's a veteran, so you know, he doesn't necessarily necessarily need to be to be getting the reps, but it would be good to see him get some, you know, some you know, connection and gel and and and chemistry with with Bonex and and and the quarterback, you know, the other quarterbacks, just to see how how he goes.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: But you know, we we know that you know it's it's always a big risk, you know, playing playing your guys and and and allowing an injury, especially in the in the preseason, which we've seen, I mean, we've even seen injuries, a lot of injuries on on every team, not just the Broncos, but the Packers and everybody else, and and with with really big injuries to big big players, you know, non-contact injuries all the way throughout training camp.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: You know, we obviously know the NFL is looking into that.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: You know, is JK Dobbins gonna play?
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: You know, we know Jared Coleman, we know Josh Coleman's gonna get some more some more plays, and and he played really, really well in the limited factor, he he was able to go in.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: And, you know, we'll we'll see where where some of these, you know, some of these guys really can stack up.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: But that, you know, we all know there was a huge fight yesterday at training camp.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Both the Broncos offense and defense were were trading big plays back and forth, and they they were playing, you know, some some pretty good ball.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: Um Bonex did hit the deck, and their little little scuffle broke out before that, and you know, two different fights, and and that's something that you typically see in in a you know in a in a preseason.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: It it's something you you do you do see, it's something that happens.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: You you do you do get that happening, and and you know, it was one of those things that that happens and and you get a you get fights and and that's what happens.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: You know, you you typically see it, but this late in training camp, you know, we we know that that's a very odd thing, but we also know the big number one rule in training camp is you don't push your quarterback under the ground, you don't hit the quarterback.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: The quarterback is always gonna be protected, you know, in a in a situation in in that matter.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: But so, you know, scuffle ensued.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Benito was actually kicked out of practice um and off the drill, and then he was later on the sidelines when the second scuffle broke out, and apparently he ran off and and came back into the second one.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: He was talked to by his position coach.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Obviously, you know, we we know that, you know, the you know, that he was actually talked to, you know, Sean, we know Sean Payton probably said something to him.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: We know Vance Jofus probab Vance Joseph probably said something to him in, and you know, I'm I'm sure things have calmed down and and you know, we'll see how practice goes today.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: But I'm I'm excited to see how this second preseason game goes.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: It'll be here in Denver along with the other one against the Minnesota Vikings a week from Friday before we have about a week off before September when we start playing real football.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: A couple weeks away from from the 2026-2027 NFL season getting underway.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Uh, we know that the first Thursday night game will be the Seattle Seahawks.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: So we'll be excited to see that.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: And then the first Monday night game is the is our Denver Broncos versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: It should be good.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Are we gonna see Patrick Mahomes week one?
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: You know, we know he's not gonna be at all during the preseason.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: You know, I think they want to make sure that nothing happens there, and and and we'll see we'll see how things go.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: We'll see how things go there, and I think we'll we'll be excited to be ready to go and uh and you know we'll we'll see the Broncos go there.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: And you know, again, I think anywhere between 11 and and 12 wins, maybe 13.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: I I just I don't see a 14 game, a 14-win season this year, but like I said at the end of last year, if you would have told me or any any Bronco fan, hey, you know, your team's gonna be 14-3, they're gonna win the AFC West, they're gonna be the number one seed in the AFC in the AFC, they're gonna lose in the AFC championship game, and they're gonna wind up having a backup quarterback, they're gonna lose their starter after the divisional game.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you I I would have I would have said you all are crazy and nuts and and and everything like that, but uh that's where we stand.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: We also do have college football starting here soon, September.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: The University of Colorado will be playing Georgia Tech, and then you know, we'll we'll see Alabama play their first game the very that Saturday afternoon.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: So, you know, let's see how Alabama they play Eastern Carolina and they play on a on the 5th of September, and the CU Buffaloes play on September 3rd, so a couple days, one day, two days in between these two games, and I'm excited to see how that goes.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: And we'll we'll see how, you know, is is the Alabama coach gonna be on the hot seat because, you know, we know last year they they got into the the SEC championship game and wound up all losing to Georgia, and for for a lot of people, you know, and especially in Alabama, not not winning the SEC championship and not being a higher seed in the you know the college football playoffs is is unacceptable and it's not you know uh the the right you know a successful season.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: You know, two losses.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: They had some they had some tough games last year, and you know, obviously this year, you know, the SEC is is always one of the toughest divisions to to play in in college football.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: You know, the other thing is there's always rumor of of them seceding and joining their making their own conference, making their own football organization and and leaving the the NCAA, you know, and if that does happen, do other schools follow suit?
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Do other conferences follow suit?
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Does the Big 12, does the Pac-12, does the Big Ten, do these people really gonna go on their own to do their own thing and and and get away from the SCC or or the N NCA, which is struggling.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: You know, we got the NIL deal now, and and obviously, you know, we know schools some schools have more money, some schools don't.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: So it it's gonna be it's gonna be a crazy season, I think, for for this year.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: But the predictions for the Broncos to play the Packers, I think it'll be I think it'll be a little bit closer.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: Obviously, we know Alant is struggling this year.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: You know, they know they have, you know, Penix Jr., they have, you know, a really big quarterback battle on their hands to see who who does who does what.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: So it'll it'll it'll be a little bit better.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: You know, we know the Packers are a little more established, they got, you know, some better weapons on both offense and defensive side of the bowl.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: So I really think that this is gonna be a very interesting um preseason game.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: You know, again, let's see how long we see Bonex, do we see J.K.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Dobbins, do we see Marvin Mims, do we see a uh Jaden Waddle finally playing in this first pre- in this second preseason game, you know, and and if so, how many reps each buddy get?
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: I bet, you know, most of the starters, like I said, at the beginning, well, probably get 10 to 15 plays, but maybe the first quarter just to see, because now that we are down to two preseason games, this more or less is the dress rehearsal as it is, to see who is 100% gonna make the game, make the team.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: You know, this this is still another opportunity for these young guys, the drafted guys and the undrafted guys on these rookies to to really prove that they they deserve to be in the NFL and that they, you know, deserve a roster spot, or you know, they deserve a spot on the practice squad, you know, and and see to where where where that goes.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: I'm excited.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, I will be at work Friday night, so I won't be able to watch the game.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: I'll just record it and then and be able to kind of watch it at the end or near the end or watch it Saturday morning.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: But it it'll it'll be an exciting, you know, exciting I'm excited to see how the Broncos do this year.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: You know, we know they're gonna have another top rank defense.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: You know, the offense is there, Bonix is in his third year, is he more comfortable?
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: You know, is he ready to to really make that new new step up?
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: A lot of people praise Webb on his ability to make play calls.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: The play calls were getting in quick, they were getting the ball snapped very quickly.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: There was, you know, there were drives and times that, you know, there were still 12, 13, 14 seconds left on the play clock before getting into, you know, you know, snapping the ball with that much time left.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: But again, what uh again, a lot of people have to understand this is preseason, it's very manila, it's very you're not gonna be showing a whole lot on the offensive side of the ball and the defensive side of the ball.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: So, you know, it it could have just been tuned up, you know, and and you know, I mean, Webb, you know, obviously had some great play calls.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: He obviously knows what works, what doesn't, and you know, he knows what what plays are gonna be, you know, good, good for for Bo Nicks and Sam Ellinger and you know Jared Stenham.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: So he he knows, you know, how to get these in.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: You know, we're gonna get some more reads, we're gonna get some a little bit different look, especially with Bo Nicks, who probably has a little more, you know, lenient in and being able the ability to to make a play call, a change of play, and and we'll see if if that really starts to come into effect where where we can really get you know, really get some th things going on and and we'll we'll see.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm excited to see you know what what happens with the with the Broncos and and we'll see how you know things go and and I'm excited to see I'm excited to see how they go.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: I I I truly do think you'll see, you know, some things you know, really go well and and really really be there and and I'm excited to to see how that that goes.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: We'll we'll we'll see how how the Broncos do.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: But it's it's gonna be a good preseason game and and I think we'll see, you know, we'll we'll see some crazy things happen here and there, especially, you know, we'll we'll we'll see what happens with the Broncos preseason game number two here.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: And you know, I'm excited to see what happens between where where these guys are, you know, let's see how much leaps and bounds, you know, Bonix is gonna be there.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: Let's see how this ankle holds up, let's see how he's able to scramble, let's see, you know, a hundred percent if he's super comfortable or if you know we we do need to, you know, make you know some decisions on our quarterback.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: Do we need to go after you know a Tatum Hill and Taysom Hill and see if he can come into this team and and play and be a backup?
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: And you know, he's played for Sean Payton before in in New Orleans and and Peyton really trusts him.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: And I think he's one of those one of those quarterbacks and one of those players that you can you can utilize him as a tight end, you can utilize him as a running back, as a fullback, as as just extra body out there just to kind of throw the offense, you know, the defense off guard and and and see how you know how that goes.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: You know, we'll we'll we'll see we'll see a lot different team this year, you know.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: We or this game, you know, we know the starters, you know, a lot more of the starters are gonna be playing some of these guys that didn't play in the first first game.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: We know we'll obviously be playing here in the second, and you know, we'll we'll see how we'll see how that goes.
- 14:41SPEAKER_06: I I I truly do think you know, how they're gonna do.
- 14:49SPEAKER_06: Quick little couple tidbits and couple um audios.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna play here via the Denver Broncos website and the Broncos.com.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: This is Davis Webb on how he feels the Broncos did in their early success against Alan in the first preseason game.
- 15:09SPEAKER_11: And half time, were you a lot of spaces you could feed for your kind of your indoctrination there?
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a lot of things.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: I think the starters and the second group really finished that first half well, but there was still a you know some few points that were left out, you know, kicking a field goal at the end.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: Willie Ludz had to balance out once, and the other time we made him kick like a 50-something yard field goal.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: So we could hopefully get a little closer and get more points and allow our pass rushers to go in a in a real game.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: So we're trying to clean up some of those details.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: But man, I I love the way we came out.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: Six plays, go get a touchdown.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: And he felt the energy on the sideline kind of go throughout the team, and that's what we want to do.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: And that was a good start.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: Now we gotta go back to back.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: I guess we're we're you know.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: I think after that one run, we all said on the headside we're gonna do what we needed to do.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: And uh he's been great the last three weeks, just like Sean said.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: He's been consistent, and we've been throwing a lot of installs at him, and he's been great, he's been handling that.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: And yeah, we're satisfied with that entire room.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: I thought they all ran really good the other day because the old line did a good job.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: I'm very, very thankful and blessed to have that because you know, I might have a call that I think has has a chance to work and does it, but I know Vance is gonna give us the toughest look with that because player-wise, we got a lot of good players on defense, and that whole staff has done a great job since year one growing to where they are now and the consistency of the last three years has been a great defense.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: It's been awesome.
- 16:40SPEAKER_08: Joe has talked in the past about how it can be difficult to incorporate enough of what we're saying.
- 16:45SPEAKER_08: Three, one of the things is that something gonna be thought about the things we have now is.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it's all gonna work itself out.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: But yes, I've had a lot of those thoughts, especially watching Jonah play the way he has the last few weeks, and we all know what JK is, and RJ had 12 touchdowns as a rookie.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I think there's worse issues out there.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: We'll try to figure it out.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: And I know John will be a great voice to lean on when those conversations come up in gameplay meetings.
- 17:12SPEAKER_07: What do you want to see from Paul on Friday?
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: That's a clean operation.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: You know, he hasn't played in a while, obviously.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Just to kind of get all the all the feels back, whether that be pregame warm up to running out with the team, getting your first completion, getting hit for the first time, getting the first down, hopefully a touchdown, like just feel those emotions, deep breathe it out, and then go watch the rest of the guys play.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: What are you telling your guys that's just what's your guys' life?
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's gonna happen.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: You know, we just can't cross the line.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: I think Sean said that, and I agree.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm glad that we're fiery.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: I love the competition out here.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: It's been unbelievable to watch both sides of the ball win some plays and win some periods, but yeah, we can't cross the line, and that's offense and defense.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: That's not just one person and one position group.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: We all had a part in that.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna handle that in this meeting and make sure we understand where the Denver Broncos, not offense versus defense.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: It looks like there's sometimes where maybe like a false start, and I'll be caught together.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: What goes into start deciding how you want it?
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: That's not our standard.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: There's been really good offensive production here in the history of this organization, and we went through that in OTAs.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: And if we're not up to that standard, you you will be taken out.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: I don't care if you're a starter or back.
- 18:26SPEAKER_12: We'll talk to Bone.
- 18:28SPEAKER_12: How much do you think we got up?
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's excited.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: I think you could feel that last week when he couldn't play, which was down.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: I know he's excited, but hopefully there's uh a lot more games of his career, so he'll he'll be just fine.
- 18:43SPEAKER_10: You need to see who and what can you get complicated enough?
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: That's a good question.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: I think the one thing that sticks out is the summer workout they had in Austin as well.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: You know, there's been a ton of communication.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: We meet as a skill group every day, so we're kind of on the same page as opposed to just doing individual position meetings.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: I like having the whole skill together, running back to tight ends and white house.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: So we're on the same page, communication-wise, timing-wise.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: That guy's gonna be open, we'll throw it to him.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: 15 seconds, it's off.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: I think it's play dependent, situation dependent.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: You know, some plays are like reading, you know, like readings in a handbook, like he knows it like the back of his hand.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: And other ones are like Harry Potter, like the fourth book.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: So that'll be a few reminders on that one.
- 19:30SPEAKER_10: But you're just saying stuff.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think every play's different, you know.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: Everyone's got their own little flavor on it.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: So, you know, obviously he Davis Webb there giving praise to the offense and deep you know, the offense in the first game and how well they played and how well they were able to score quickly.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: You know, I think he's excited to see Bo Nicks get ready to get his first reps in preseason, get back on the field, uh, obviously not playing since Buffalo in the divisional round.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Here in a little bit, I'll play the a little bit, the segment of the the Bo Nicks.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: See how you can hear in his voice how excited he is to get back out on the field for the first time since December.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: And I think you'll you'll you'll you'll also you also heard there, you know, he he said, you know, we're gonna keep this fight internal, we're gonna discuss it as a team, we're gonna make sure that these guys know we're the Denver Broncos as a team and not the offense and defense.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: You know, it wasn't just one guy that that started this fight.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: It was, you know, it boiled over, it was a situation, you know, it it it you know started because something happened and players didn't like it, and another player didn't like it, another player, and it just boiled over to the point to where, you know, it happens.
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: And and you see this in every team in training camp at some point.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: Some are early, some are late, sometimes it doesn't happen at all, but uh at least a couple times in training camp, you do see fights break out between the team and players, and it's just part of the game, it's part of what happens, and you know, you get under each other's skin, you're there every day, you know, it's hot out.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: You you know, things go, things become what they are.
- 21:08SPEAKER_06: So Bo Nicks on how excited he is to play on Friday night.
- 21:15SPEAKER_10: Oh, a little frustrating get knocked around out there.
- 21:18SPEAKER_05: Uh I love it.
- 21:20SPEAKER_05: It's football, it's getting me ready for the games coming up, and it's a physical practice out there played by physical people.
- 21:26SPEAKER_05: So it got intense and we were just really enjoying it.
- 21:29SPEAKER_05: And sometimes in the dog days of summer, practice gets long and the intensity runs high.
- 21:35SPEAKER_03: Are there any apologies?
- 21:49SPEAKER_05: I'm super excited.
- 21:50SPEAKER_05: It's always a blast to play at home.
- 21:53SPEAKER_05: It's great to get in front of our fans.
- 21:54SPEAKER_05: It'll be fun to get out there for the first time this year.
- 21:57SPEAKER_05: Put the pads on and, you know, go out there and play a game and then You know, for for me, all the games feel the same and so it'll be good to get some get some work in.
- 22:05SPEAKER_13: Because your snaps probably aren't, you know, obviously a full game.
- 22:08SPEAKER_13: What kind of goals do you have going into a game in which you're gonna have a limited amount of time?
- 22:13SPEAKER_05: You try to treat it as as a real one and treat like you're gonna go play the whole entire game and then play with maximum intensity until they until they pull you.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: Well what's what was Friday like for you?
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: What are you trying to take from that and what were your impressions?
- 22:27SPEAKER_05: I really enjoyed it.
- 22:28SPEAKER_05: I thought one, the tempo, the pace of play was great.
- 22:30SPEAKER_05: I thought he did a good job, and our offense as a whole did a really good job.
- 22:34SPEAKER_05: Going down and scoring first drive was really cool, and it was just good to have my seat in the house.
- 22:39SPEAKER_05: It was good to be over there, sort of get a couple different vantage points and watch the game as it played out and go through my reads on the sideline from a different point of view.
- 22:47SPEAKER_05: And, you know, just thought it was a good turnout by us.
- 22:51SPEAKER_05: A good job being physical, running the ball, throwing the ball.
- 22:54SPEAKER_05: We were very balanced.
- 22:55SPEAKER_05: I thought he did a good job calling it, but we did a good job executing it as well.
- 22:58SPEAKER_04: The run game's been a big emphasis this offseason to get goal for you guys.
- 23:01SPEAKER_04: Kind of being there on the sideline, seeing it going with with our game a little bit.
- 23:05SPEAKER_04: And then Jonah, what were your thoughts just collecting all that?
- 23:08SPEAKER_05: I thought we did a good job.
- 23:09SPEAKER_05: I thought we were very much balanced in like run pass, very much in tendencies, and those guys did a good job of running the football.
- 23:17SPEAKER_05: So we got really good backs, and we're gonna be excited to use those guys, you know, in the back uh coming out of the backfield, I'm running the football.
- 23:24SPEAKER_05: So we're excited about them and their skill set, and then just grow on what we've been building over the training camp in this offseason.
- 23:30SPEAKER_07: Wait, wait, so he's a model back now on the field for a couple of practices.
- 23:33SPEAKER_07: What's it been like being able to work with him and throw the ball?
- 23:36SPEAKER_05: It's been great.
- 23:37SPEAKER_05: He's an elite player and he makes our room better.
- 23:39SPEAKER_05: And, you know, with him out there on the field, you know, just again adds a different level of explosiveness and just allows other guys to to be better.
- 23:47SPEAKER_05: And you know, core can be better.
- 23:49SPEAKER_05: Jalen's obviously gonna make plays, Pat and Troy, those guys are gonna be be there, and then you know, the rest of the guys are gonna fall in fall in line.
- 23:58SPEAKER_09: When Davis is in your helmet, how does that go?
- 24:01SPEAKER_09: Is it he's he had said he was joking with someplace or he said, I am and somewhere Harry Potter.
- 24:07SPEAKER_09: Are you listening to him if your eyes are shifting?
- 24:09SPEAKER_09: And is that different than how Sean was under your helmet all the way up to 15 seconds?
- 24:13SPEAKER_09: I guess how does that work?
- 24:15SPEAKER_05: You know, I think it's obviously different.
- 24:18SPEAKER_05: They're two different play callers and they're two different people, they're gonna have different mannerisms.
- 24:22SPEAKER_05: I think, you know, Sean did a really good job my first couple years just not distracting me with different things and not being extra and you know, just giving me the play.
- 24:30SPEAKER_05: He would give me a few reminders if I needed them, but really it was just a play, and he kept me in it, and you know, it was very beneficial for me as a young kid getting in the league.
- 24:38SPEAKER_05: Now I think with Davis, he understands where I'm at on my level, and he can also push me, give me a little bit more, and also be a little extra at times.
- 24:47SPEAKER_05: And he's always gonna be the guy that sends me a joke in every once in a while and sort of keeps it lighthearted and you know, just as serious as this game is, it can also be fun at the same time.
- 24:57SPEAKER_11: Well, what's it been like within all these years with Tory Franklin?
- 25:00SPEAKER_11: What's his personality like?
- 25:01SPEAKER_11: He seems to be a real confident guy, you know, he sets a lot of goals, what's that?
- 25:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he's my longest tenure teammate.
- 25:07SPEAKER_05: I've never been on a team, never had a teammate as long as I have with Troy, and so I kind of feel like we've grown up through the years together.
- 25:16SPEAKER_05: We've been through a lot of the same, same journey, same things at the same time.
- 25:21SPEAKER_05: And he was there with me when I was just getting to Oregon, and he was just a young guy, and we sort of flourished together and made a name for ourselves out in Oregon, and he set a lot of records and did a great job.
- 25:32SPEAKER_05: And and then we get drafted in the same class of the same team.
- 25:34SPEAKER_05: So it was pretty, pretty awesome.
- 25:36SPEAKER_05: And Troy's a guy that's he you don't realize how much he's actually picking up.
- 25:43SPEAKER_05: You don't realize how much he's willing to learn, and he asks great questions, very detailed questions.
- 25:48SPEAKER_05: He definitely clears up the air on a lot of things just by the questions he asks.
- 25:52SPEAKER_05: He's a very intelligent football player, underrated knowledge, and I I don't think enough people know that about him, but definitely smart.
- 25:59SPEAKER_05: And then I think now in year three, he's just putting his skill set with that knowledge that he's learned and put together in the NFL, and now you can see he's really starting to shine and really start being a playmaker that we know he can be.
- 26:15SPEAKER_05: It'll be great.
- 26:16SPEAKER_05: He's called two games thus far with the Broncos.
- 26:18SPEAKER_05: He called one preseason last year I didn't play, and one last week I didn't play.
- 26:21SPEAKER_05: So this will be my first time in a in a game with him in my helmet, and you know, I think it'll be fun.
- 26:26SPEAKER_05: I think first times are always fun.
- 26:29SPEAKER_05: Get out there is something new, something to get used to.
- 26:31SPEAKER_05: And, you know, obviously it'll be similar to practice, won't be much different as far as the headset or just being a game like setting.
- 26:37SPEAKER_03: But what have the challenges been of having as many different centers as you've got to work with the uh thus far?
- 26:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:43SPEAKER_05: I think uh, you know, that's been a uh a good thing.
- 26:47SPEAKER_05: I think you can't always anticipate what's gonna happen in a game, and it's keeping us all on our toes.
- 26:52SPEAKER_05: It's allowing me to be a little bit more in on the mic points and in on the communication, and that it may it's forcing me to be a little bit take a bigger role in in that.
- 27:03SPEAKER_05: And you know, like at the end of practice, we're we're with our our rookie Ortega and go out there and we gotta execute a two-minute drill.
- 27:10SPEAKER_05: And I have it's my job and our job to make whoever's in there feel confident and comfortable.
- 27:15SPEAKER_05: And so that's what I hope we did.
- 27:17SPEAKER_05: And you know, whether it's a center, whether it's a new receiver, whatever position it may be, you're not always gonna be able to pick the lineup.
- 27:24SPEAKER_05: You may have some guys that are banged up or can't can't go, but whoever's out there, it doesn't matter.
- 27:30SPEAKER_05: We still have one obligation that's to go score.
- 27:32SPEAKER_13: Oh, you're Nick Benito and Patrick.
- 27:34SPEAKER_13: Between Nick Benito and Patrick's hand, how do those two players in particular help you deal with the thrush and also attacking you?
- 27:41SPEAKER_13: So sticky.
- 27:42SPEAKER_05: Well, it's it's great for us in practice.
- 27:44SPEAKER_05: As annoying as it is, it's great because they're the best of the best.
- 27:48SPEAKER_05: You're not gonna find two better than them.
- 27:50SPEAKER_05: And like you said, in the past rush, we gotta our tackles and our our line have to face, you know, the best edge rushers and best interior rushers in the game, and they've statistically proven that over the last couple years.
- 28:01SPEAKER_05: And so it makes us better up front and challenges us, and I think that's why we've been really good in protection.
- 28:07SPEAKER_05: And then receivers, it makes them better because they have to confront the challenge.
- 28:11SPEAKER_05: And you know, him and Riley do a great job with J Mack.
- 28:14SPEAKER_05: They pretty much everything looks like man with our defense, and so everything's match, and our guys have to get separation, and our guys are constantly having to get open.
- 28:21SPEAKER_05: And I think the more you do that, the more reps you get, having to go against the best, the better you're gonna be.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: So, you know, again, Bonex sounds excited to be ready to go.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: They did they did ask him about that that little scuffle.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Obviously, he doesn't apologize for for throwing the ball at Roach Roach, who who just happened to be there, and and I think it was a frustration of everything going over he made a bad play and he made a bad interception, and and it just goes there.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: But we'll we'll see how preseason game number two goes against Green Bay Packers Friday night at Mile High Stadium.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: Thank you for listening to T-Bone Sports One fan all game.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: And as always, Go Broncos.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: Just a real quick side note here that both those things came off the Denver Broncos.com.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: I do not work for them, they do not pay me to use that.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: I'm grateful that I was able to use their stuff.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: So giving them props for letting me do that.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: Again, thank you.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: Anytime I do do Bronco stuff here, we'll we'll be playing stuff off of them.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: I will also try to use some Denversports.com 104 The Fan here, the best radio station in Colorado, to listen to Denver Sports Talk.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: I do know some of the know some of the people on that radio show and and so give my props to them.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: But quick PSA here also as well.

- 30:03SPEAKER_01: We are still a democracy.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: We are not going in the direction that a lot of people think we're going.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: We're not gonna let that happen to our country.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: We're not gonna let one person in the White House try to take over this country.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: He is not the ruler.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: He was voted in by the people, he will be voted out by the people, and we will make sure that he does what we want.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: This is a country in the United States.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: Just a quick PSA, not a very political person, but just want to make sure people understand.
