- 0:07Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to No Dribble, the newest.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm going to open with all of that. That's brilliant.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to No Dribble. Yes, this is the
- 0:23Speaker 1: third take on this introduction because clearly I haven't had
- 0:26Speaker 1: enough coffee this morning. My name's Carolyn swind Il'm very excited, obviously,
- 0:30Speaker 1: to be announcing the newest chapter of the Abba Fan Club,
- 0:34Speaker 1: which starts here in No Dribble HQ. I'm joined by
- 0:37Speaker 1: the biggest fan of them all. That's you Coxy. Hello.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Everyone, that's cath Cox and you do need to drink
- 0:48Speaker 3: your coffee. It's sitting right there.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I'm going to everybody into me, and of course a
- 0:53Speaker 1: huge welcome to our very dear friend Sue Gordion.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Again, Hello, and Catherine. Don't tell me you don't want
- 0:58Speaker 2: a man after midnight.
- 1:00Speaker 3: To be fair, I don't want him after midnight because
- 1:01Speaker 3: I'm fastest if he could come over before seven.
- 1:09Speaker 2: In his name Fernando.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Does your mother know?
- 1:14Speaker 3: Is that another EPISNG?
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah? Is it? Yeah?
- 1:16Speaker 3: My mum doesn't know much these days, and I like
- 1:19Speaker 3: to keep it that way. She started listening to Know
- 1:21Speaker 3: Dribble ashally, and I told her.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I talked about it. Yeah, that's so good.
- 1:25Speaker 3: When we started talking about I don't know whatever we
- 1:28Speaker 3: started talking about halfway through. We started quite sensibly, and
- 1:31Speaker 3: then it took a bit of a turn to generate,
- 1:34Speaker 3: said Francie, you don't need to listen this way.
- 1:36Speaker 1: That it did start quite sensibly, because I think in
- 1:38Speaker 1: the very first episode we were talking about Liz getting
- 1:40Speaker 1: it with what was clearly a massager for Mother's Day,
- 1:43Speaker 1: but we were calling it a vibrator. So I'm not
- 1:45Speaker 1: I'm not entirely sure that you know we've misled anyone
- 1:48Speaker 1: as to we can't be discussing here. But she doesn't
- 1:50Speaker 1: need to listen any no, no, Well, I told you
- 1:53Speaker 1: how my dad thinks he doesn't know that I do
- 1:55Speaker 1: a podcast, and when I was doing it when we
- 1:57Speaker 1: were in Vancouver, and he said he accidentally listened to one,
- 2:00Speaker 1: but then later on, as I uncovered it, he accidentally
- 2:03Speaker 1: listened to me on ABC Radio one time. So because
- 2:06Speaker 1: I was doing overnights at one stage, I was a guess,
- 2:08Speaker 1: I don't know what I was talking about, but you know,
- 2:10Speaker 1: this is one in the middle of the night, and
- 2:12Speaker 1: my father, because he's eighty four, doesn't sleep that well.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And wakes up and it's like, puts his headphones on
- 2:17Speaker 1: so he doesn't disturb his wife, and suddenly I'm there
- 2:20Speaker 1: the dulcet tones of his daughter are in his ears,
- 2:23Speaker 1: so I God.
- 2:24Speaker 3: That would have frightened them. Isn't it funny with tech though?
- 2:26Speaker 3: Like my parents are useless, and I feel like I
- 2:30Speaker 3: am already so far behind. I just got to Carolyn's before,
- 2:33Speaker 3: and her son's out there with one of what's what
- 2:35Speaker 3: is it.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Called virtual reality, like with.
- 2:38Speaker 3: The mask and the you know, the hands and they
- 2:42Speaker 3: do all the actions and stuff. I was like, what
- 2:45Speaker 3: is going on.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Here, Kathy?
- 2:46Speaker 4: Know how you're all over your TikTok famous videos, the
- 2:49Speaker 4: ones that you love go and look are like exactly
- 2:52Speaker 4: that people that put on the virtual masks or whatever
- 2:55Speaker 4: they're called, and they knock into things in the kitchen
- 2:58Speaker 4: and over tables. It is absolutely hysterical and painful.
- 3:02Speaker 2: You've got to watch so good.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I just said to Carolyn before I would be so
- 3:07Speaker 3: scared that I'd run into stuff, and she said that
- 3:09Speaker 3: they put a chair at the entrance to the pool
- 3:13Speaker 3: because he could end up in there. Right now, he
- 3:16Speaker 3: could easily end up in the pool.
- 3:19Speaker 2: You need to put Floti's on him. Molly's doing it.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I'm just more worried about the VR goggles being destroyed
- 3:27Speaker 1: if he goes in the pool. It would be quite
- 3:29Speaker 1: funny to do. I actually paid both of my children
- 3:31Speaker 1: twenty bucks to jump in the pool last week. At
- 3:33Speaker 1: one night, we were sitting out there by the pool having
- 3:36Speaker 1: a fire, and I said, I'll give you twenty bucks
- 3:38Speaker 1: if you get in the pool. You have to swim
- 3:40Speaker 1: the whole length of it, because it's just they're so
- 3:42Speaker 1: they're so soft that they've just like they can't. They'll
- 3:45Speaker 1: have this very narrow temperature band that they're happy to
- 3:49Speaker 1: live in. And I just like to see them have
- 3:51Speaker 1: a bit of hardship every now and then.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Did they do it or did they try and range
- 3:54Speaker 3: up to thirty or fine?
- 3:55Speaker 1: Now, no, no, they both did it.
- 3:57Speaker 2: You're sitting there on a Saturday night.
- 3:58Speaker 4: That's your Saturday night, tempting your kids for twenty bucks
- 4:01Speaker 4: to do things jumping fall.
- 4:05Speaker 1: It's poor parenting, but you know, I think it's character building, right.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I did offer Lewis thirty euros to wear a beret
- 4:12Speaker 1: for the day in Paris, but it was not enough
- 4:14Speaker 1: money to tempt him to do it.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Do people rock around in berets over there?
- 4:18Speaker 1: No, only only to rest. But and I said, Tim,
- 4:23Speaker 1: you will not see anyone, you know, if you are
- 4:25Speaker 1: wearing a beret. And but it's like he just wouldn't
- 4:28Speaker 1: do it and look fair enough.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Listen, Lizen, I both rocked a beret when we're in Paris.
- 4:33Speaker 3: A cheese got sick. All the above.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Yeah, Dottie and I got berets. But that was just
- 4:37Speaker 1: for my Valor Dribbler's Tipping comp Weekly video.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Committed speaking of do we get to start with the
- 4:45Speaker 3: big news?
- 4:46Speaker 2: Well, why don't we?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah? So it is sadly the end of the Valor
- 4:51Speaker 1: Dribblers Tipping Comp. But I have just loved this. I
- 4:53Speaker 1: think it's been so fun. We do have one clear winner,
- 4:57Speaker 1: which is very exciting. The Fascinator has come out on top.
- 5:01Speaker 1: She they actually because it's Lisa and her daughter do
- 5:06Speaker 1: it together. They tip together. But they have absolutely peaked
- 5:10Speaker 1: at the right time and come on through. There were
- 5:11Speaker 1: three people who finished a point below them, so the
- 5:15Speaker 1: Bassinator finished on fifty three points. That is Lisa bass.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Now I've already told Lisa because obviously they need to
- 5:21Speaker 1: get planning because they are planning to come down for
- 5:23Speaker 1: the Grand Final, although I think they might be terribly
- 5:26Speaker 1: disappointed because they're Swifts fans. But we'll talk about that
- 5:29Speaker 1: later on. But Lisa and her daughter Lauren have been
- 5:32Speaker 1: tipping every week and they've been to four home games
- 5:36Speaker 1: this this year, including the one with Steph Fretwell's foot gate.
- 5:42Speaker 1: They're mulling over that one. Found the second half of
- 5:44Speaker 1: the season to be quite tricky to tip, and that's
- 5:46Speaker 1: when they came home strong. So in terms of height,
- 5:51Speaker 1: they're both mid quarters. But yeah, they've said through some
- 5:55Speaker 1: great photos where they caught up with Patrick at one
- 5:57Speaker 1: of the games. Been listening to No dribble since the
- 6:01Speaker 1: very beginning. So we're looking forward to meeting them at
- 6:03Speaker 1: our event on the first of August. And in terms
- 6:06Speaker 1: of scrunchy gait, they're both more likely to go a
- 6:10Speaker 1: hair tie, but they would wear a scrunchy for the team.
- 6:13Speaker 1: So I feel like, you know, we have some awesome,
- 6:16Speaker 1: worthy winners here. I look forward to meeting them in
- 6:19Speaker 1: a couple of weeks.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Well done, because that tipping com was bloody hard. I
- 6:24Speaker 3: thought it was going to be a lot easier. Oh
- 6:26Speaker 3: so on that then, where did wheel and well lunch.
- 6:30Speaker 2: You know where you I know, I.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Know, I just want to hear it out loud.
- 6:34Speaker 2: So that's why you're asking a question.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Well, it's good news for you, Gordy, because we're not
- 6:39Speaker 1: even tied anymore. You pipped me by one point in
- 6:43Speaker 1: the last week, and we both got bingo this week.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Everyone you know, bingo was the most popular score of
- 6:49Speaker 1: the week this week, so a lot of people got
- 6:51Speaker 1: four people got zero points this week, but two hundred
- 6:54Speaker 1: and thirty eight of us got all of them correct
- 6:57Speaker 1: and then the next highest most frequent score was three points.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But we have had five hundred and fifty tippers across
- 7:04Speaker 1: the whole season. We've had nine people who registered but
- 7:06Speaker 1: never put any tipsy, twenty one groups and about twenty
- 7:11Speaker 1: five Queenslanders who joined us for the love of tipping,
- 7:15Speaker 1: not being eligible to win prizes, but our weekly prize
- 7:18Speaker 1: winner for the last voucher fifty dollars voucher is says
- 7:23Speaker 1: A who was sitting in eighty first position. The other
- 7:26Speaker 1: most important announcement, obviously, is the Golden Turkey Award. We've
- 7:29Speaker 1: known this for several weeks, but she has stayed consistent
- 7:33Speaker 1: through the whole thing. Mellie Melrosa scored a total of
- 7:37Speaker 1: eighteen points over the whole season. Just to put it
- 7:40Speaker 1: in context, fascinator got fifty three points.
- 7:42Speaker 3: So crap, that's hard to do.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it's very hard to do. She started round one
- 7:47Speaker 1: with a score of two, and to put that in context,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I started round one with a score of zero. So
- 7:52Speaker 1: she's done very well to lock that in the Golden Turkey.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Kathy finished in fourteenth position on forty nine points. Gordy
- 8:00Speaker 1: two hundred and fifty eighth.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Sorry, so the winner got fifty three.
- 8:03Speaker 1: The winner got fifty three points.
- 8:04Speaker 2: It's got forty nine.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Catherine, I know I'm impressive.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Human.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Oh I'm in real shock.
- 8:11Speaker 4: I don't think I've really kind of listened when you've
- 8:14Speaker 4: been the weeks i've been on all I kind of go,
- 8:18Speaker 4: is I'm not winning?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Move on? It's Catherine, who cares? You're only a full
- 8:21Speaker 2: shy of the actual winner.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Yeah, but there's a lot of there's a lot.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Of there's thirteen people ahead of you. There's not a lot,
- 8:27Speaker 1: but it just goes to show the lengths she'll go
- 8:30Speaker 1: to to not buy lunch or a mate.
- 8:32Speaker 3: More important, which ends up being you.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's me. So I ended up in three
- 8:37Speaker 1: hundredth position, and I'm sad I would like to have
- 8:39Speaker 1: ented in the twos rather than the three hundred three hundred.
- 8:43Speaker 1: But I had thirty nine points. Liz finished in four
- 8:45Speaker 1: hundred and ninety eighth position on twenty nine points. So
- 8:47Speaker 1: if you only tip the home teams, you got twenty
- 8:50Speaker 1: nine out of the possible fifty three points, which I
- 8:52Speaker 1: think is really interesting because it shows that you know
- 8:55Speaker 1: almost half the time it is the away team who
- 8:57Speaker 1: is going to win.
- 8:58Speaker 4: I reckon, that's been better than I'd love to do
- 9:00Speaker 4: a stat on day, is it, Darren Milton?
- 9:02Speaker 2: That's on our.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Darryl Milton, Darryl, Darryl, Can you go and do a
- 9:06Speaker 4: stat of how many away team wins there were last year?
- 9:10Speaker 4: Because I reckon there wouldn't be as much. I reckon
- 9:12Speaker 4: this year has been huge for away team wins.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I'm curious. I just think teams have to learn how
- 9:17Speaker 2: to win.
- 9:18Speaker 1: A one fever doesn't have to learn to win away.
- 9:21Speaker 3: How could your run been, though, Like how many games
- 9:24Speaker 3: at home? Now you've already had four in a row?
- 9:26Speaker 3: Is it we the fourth in the row?
- 9:27Speaker 2: No?
- 9:27Speaker 4: So we had two in a row, which was round
- 9:30Speaker 4: thirteen fourteen, and now we'll go first semi at home.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Oh god, I thought it was more than that. Okay
- 9:35Speaker 3: to end the run and well, don't lose that, because
- 9:37Speaker 3: I mean, you will get another game at home, which
- 9:39Speaker 3: would be great, I know, but you'd prefer to have
- 9:42Speaker 3: a week off and just turtle down to Melbourne or relaxed,
- 9:44Speaker 3: wouldn't you.
- 9:45Speaker 1: They won't lose.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Well, Listen, what was really interesting in that Swift's game
- 9:50Speaker 3: was firstly the first extra time game of the year.
- 9:53Speaker 3: What the hell? Why is that taking so long on
- 9:55Speaker 3: gobsmack shot? And that we finally get one in round fourteen.
- 9:59Speaker 3: But it was really interesting in the last huddle they
- 10:01Speaker 3: had Helen Howsby like really reven them up. This is
- 10:04Speaker 3: good for us. We're going to have to do this
- 10:06Speaker 3: in the grund and you know if we're going to
- 10:07Speaker 3: play finals. And I thought, I get what you're doing
- 10:11Speaker 3: in the moment because you're trying to get your team
- 10:13Speaker 3: across the line. But you shouldn't be in this position
- 10:17Speaker 3: to the Wooden Spooners when you're about to go and
- 10:20Speaker 3: play in the major semi final. So I don't think
- 10:24Speaker 3: you will be in the finals preparing that way, you'd
- 10:27Speaker 3: hope you'd just you know, but anyway, they were trying
- 10:30Speaker 3: to put their positive spin on it. You could see
- 10:33Speaker 3: definite frustrations in the team yesterday that I don't think
- 10:36Speaker 3: i've seen all year. And it is going to be
- 10:38Speaker 3: a very hard road trip.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Gordy, Yeah, I think I think, shout out to I
- 10:43Speaker 4: actually agree with your cat, but shout out to.
- 10:45Speaker 2: The five birds.
- 10:46Speaker 4: Go and have a look at their last three games.
- 10:47Speaker 4: I think we spoke about this last week. They just
- 10:49Speaker 4: have to learn how to win in the critical moments.
- 10:51Speaker 4: That'll be a team depending on what their list looks
- 10:54Speaker 4: like next year. If they maintain within reason, they do
- 10:58Speaker 4: need some changes, But if they maintained within reason, there'll
- 11:01Speaker 4: be a vastly different team next year in terms of
- 11:03Speaker 4: critical moments and learning.
- 11:06Speaker 3: You know who made the mistake in the critical moment though,
- 11:08Speaker 3: mister Kitty Wells puts a rookie on time that game
- 11:16Speaker 3: like I'm just not smart.
- 11:18Speaker 1: How devastating for that young woman too, that it's like
- 11:21Speaker 1: this is my first game and she's you know, you
- 11:23Speaker 1: could see that she was blaming herself. It's not your fault,
- 11:26Speaker 1: hunt like this is not the time. Yeah, but I
- 11:28Speaker 1: mean because early on in the game, when I thought that,
- 11:30Speaker 1: when they were, you know, sort of blooding some new players,
- 11:33Speaker 1: I thought, that's great, this really good thing. But it's like,
- 11:35Speaker 1: you're so close to winning. Don't put it on this
- 11:38Speaker 1: kid's shoulders. No, sorry, kid, that sounds patronizing, but don't
- 11:42Speaker 1: put it on this young woman's shoulders on her debut.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Why wasn't Steph Fretwell on in the dying moments of
- 11:49Speaker 1: their game? Either? What the last quarter of the Lightning game?
- 11:52Speaker 1: What happened?
- 11:53Speaker 3: What was the score? There? Was it all over?
- 11:54Speaker 2: No?
- 11:54Speaker 3: They only lost by four. I didn't see the end
- 11:56Speaker 3: of the game.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I reckon, Carolyn. The question actually isn't the
- 11:59Speaker 4: last I reckon. Why take her off in the second quarter?
- 12:02Speaker 2: I don't.
- 12:02Speaker 4: I mean, I imagine, I imagine Steph Frettwell maybe doesn't
- 12:06Speaker 4: have sixty minutes in her at this point in time.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I don't know, but I just could not comprehend. Lightning
- 12:11Speaker 4: looked great against Adelaide for that verse fifteen. Adelaide challenged
- 12:16Speaker 4: slightly in the second and the second that that happened,
- 12:19Speaker 4: Fretwell went off. But I'm like, no, Fretwell's your leader,
- 12:22Speaker 4: leave her on.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I guess weather a storm.
- 12:25Speaker 4: You know, I just felt like they made that they
- 12:27Speaker 4: rolled that dice too early and all be You know,
- 12:29Speaker 4: I agree with you that last quarter.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Why but I go back to you shouldn't have put
- 12:33Speaker 2: yourself in that predicament.
- 12:34Speaker 4: You had a chance to, like I say, weather a storm,
- 12:37Speaker 4: find a way and keep your leader on court. So
- 12:40Speaker 4: I guess what we all don't know as just general
- 12:43Speaker 4: fans from the outside is the circumstances of Fretwell or
- 12:47Speaker 4: whether or not that's just the coaching of their current
- 12:50Speaker 4: coach in terms of trying to find impact moments, don't
- 12:53Speaker 4: I but.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Gordy, were you expecting a retirement from Frettwell? I mean,
- 12:56Speaker 3: it may still come, we don't know. But the postmatch
- 12:59Speaker 3: interview was interesting. She was very clear she wants to
- 13:01Speaker 3: play again next year.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I've got to big care for what I say here, Catherine.
- 13:06Speaker 4: I probably was, but I'm not surprised that she's staying on.
- 13:10Speaker 4: I think I'd love to know where her body is at.
- 13:13Speaker 4: And she doesn't have a contract, so she I don't
- 13:17Speaker 4: think she's got a contract. I didn't have a look
- 13:19Speaker 4: at that, but I don't think she was freely saying
- 13:21Speaker 4: it's a done deal. So I guess if we knew
- 13:24Speaker 4: behind the scenes around where the body's at all. Actually,
- 13:27Speaker 4: what you did hear or say was I understand with
- 13:29Speaker 4: the young ones coming through that my role might need
- 13:31Speaker 4: to change.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and that might be a bad thing.
- 13:33Speaker 4: So you know, again, maybe an impact player off the
- 13:35Speaker 4: bench and Batcheldor becomes a starter and learns to groove
- 13:39Speaker 4: as a starting player, which, as we all know, is
- 13:42Speaker 4: a completely different beast than impacting a game at some point.
- 13:45Speaker 2: So interesting, It's good. I'm glad she's going to be
- 13:48Speaker 2: around potentially for another year. Oh.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Likewise, so that game I was really excited about. And
- 13:53Speaker 1: I think I mentioned that I was at the comedy
- 13:56Speaker 1: store last week and so I had everything recorded that's
- 13:59Speaker 1: going to watched on delay. I went dark. I wanted
- 14:02Speaker 1: to enjoy the Giants game, and that, I think is
- 14:04Speaker 1: something else we need to talk about. And I really was.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I was interested to watch this and I got home
- 14:09Speaker 1: and then there was something wrong with the foxtail. It's like, okay,
- 14:11Speaker 1: this has been recorded. It's midnight. I poured myself a cognac.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I settle in to watch a few hours of netball,
- 14:17Speaker 1: and then something happens and like the foxtail, I wouldn't play.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I could see that the game was there. So I
- 14:22Speaker 1: went and poured my cognac back into the bottle and
- 14:24Speaker 1: went to bed. And then the next morning I'm watching it.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I got Pete to do whatever Pete does with unplugging
- 14:31Speaker 1: things and making them work. Then and I was watching
- 14:34Speaker 1: it and Dot comes out. She'd slept in, came out.
- 14:37Speaker 1: She had watched it for a few minutes, and then
- 14:40Speaker 1: she wanted Lightning to win. She'd tipped the Thunderbirds. She
- 14:43Speaker 1: came back in and she said, ah, so do you
- 14:44Speaker 1: want to do you want to have a bit of
- 14:46Speaker 1: a bet as to what the score is going to
- 14:48Speaker 1: be and who's going to win? And then I said,
- 14:51Speaker 1: I don't know. I said, I think the Thunderbirds are
- 14:53Speaker 1: going to win. Lightning were up for it this stage,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and she said, yeah, I think the Thunderbirds will win
- 14:58Speaker 1: and the score is going to be in the field fifties.
- 15:00Speaker 1: And it's like, you little, you've just been and look
- 15:04Speaker 1: and she just wrecked it. So it's like, well, quite
- 15:06Speaker 1: clearly that is what the outcome is, and you've just robbed.
- 15:10Speaker 1: But Oh, I just I just think I'd like to
- 15:13Speaker 1: look like I'm a bit of a legend in predicting
- 15:16Speaker 1: the score in games. It's like, no, you are so transparent.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I thought they would win that too, but I thought
- 15:21Speaker 3: it would be by a bigger margin, to be fair,
- 15:24Speaker 3: like that was a good game from the lightning considering
- 15:27Speaker 3: what they had to deal with in the last couple
- 15:29Speaker 3: of weeks.
- 15:30Speaker 2: So how good was Ramelda Aiken?
- 15:31Speaker 4: So I had about yeah, the quarter about quarter time,
- 15:35Speaker 4: something just like kind of the light bulb went on.
- 15:36Speaker 2: She's like, no, we're not losing this. She just turned
- 15:40Speaker 2: into a beast. She was unreal.
- 15:42Speaker 4: There was a couple of moments where she got a
- 15:44Speaker 4: bit of a wayward ball and she had to run
- 15:46Speaker 4: and like I was watching that big bandage, you know,
- 15:48Speaker 4: that big leak the leg she.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Was, oh yeah, the scaffold race on and at.
- 15:52Speaker 4: One point she didn't pull up overly well and kind
- 15:55Speaker 4: of limped back a bit, but it just didn't stop her.
- 15:57Speaker 4: She she found another gear for the Thunderbird on the weekend,
- 16:01Speaker 4: and I'm not convinced had she not have done that,
- 16:04Speaker 4: that maybe the game could have.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Been a little different. They really needed her big time.
- 16:08Speaker 1: What was going on with Lauren Frew?
- 16:10Speaker 3: Oh question pickle juice needs the pickle juice.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Yeah, but what was what was said to her before
- 16:17Speaker 4: that in that huddle.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Said to you up for this or something like that,
- 16:20Speaker 1: and it's like, yeah, that's happening there.
- 16:22Speaker 4: We were all talking about that off camera. Don't know
- 16:25Speaker 4: what that was about, whether or not she'd been sick.
- 16:26Speaker 4: There's so much sickness in teams, Like you can see
- 16:29Speaker 4: the tissues on the bench, and so I don't know
- 16:31Speaker 4: whether it was that, but she has had calf problems.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Historically, so it looked like cramp.
- 16:36Speaker 4: She was walking okay at the end of the game,
- 16:37Speaker 4: but she was very teary, like she wasn't on the bench.
- 16:40Speaker 2: The camera picked her up. She looked a bit emotional
- 16:43Speaker 2: during the game. Yeah, when she had to come off,
- 16:45Speaker 2: so she went up.
- 16:46Speaker 4: She went up for this rebound and landed and it
- 16:48Speaker 4: looked it looked like cramp cat, you know, when the
- 16:50Speaker 4: muscle kind of just holds that contraction.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Yeah, No, is that after the man after Midnight?
- 17:04Speaker 1: That Jane Fonder thing that she put on Instagram a
- 17:08Speaker 1: couple of years ago, she said, I don't miss having
- 17:11Speaker 1: a man in my life. But I did get home
- 17:12Speaker 1: from this awards ceremony last night and I couldn't un
- 17:15Speaker 1: zip my dress, so I had to sleep in it.
- 17:17Speaker 1: That's when I miss having a man round.
- 17:19Speaker 4: She's a rip of that lady anyhow, So through so
- 17:23Speaker 4: we'll keep eyes on that throughout the week, I think,
- 17:25Speaker 4: and keep eyes on Hadley for the swift. There's a
- 17:28Speaker 4: couple of players we're not sure about.
- 17:32Speaker 3: They need through. I'll tell you what she's If you
- 17:34Speaker 3: had to pick a goal attack for Australia, I mean
- 17:37Speaker 3: we're running low on them. She'd have to be in
- 17:39Speaker 3: the squad.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Do you reckon?
- 17:41Speaker 3: Well, who else is there? You're Austin, Well, she'd be
- 17:44Speaker 3: in the team. Yeah, I mean if you're thinking about
- 17:46Speaker 3: it in terms of Helen Howsey English, I don't think
- 17:50Speaker 3: more's up to the child.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Was about to say what about Emily Moore?
- 17:53Speaker 2: No, and then Sophie Dwyer.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Well she's probably in the squad anyway, but Beckford can't
- 17:59Speaker 3: be selected. Oh she's Jamaican.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I thought, Hang, am getting good getting my
- 18:07Speaker 1: players confuse try will try.
- 18:10Speaker 4: This is like a whole new podcast just chatting about
- 18:13Speaker 4: what do the Diamonds do? Actually, what I mean by
- 18:16Speaker 4: that is so next year is Common Games the year
- 18:20Speaker 4: after being World Cut right for me personally, World Cups
- 18:23Speaker 4: the one like total Games has lost.
- 18:26Speaker 2: It's kind of.
- 18:27Speaker 4: A little bit and so like how many And I
- 18:30Speaker 4: hate using this word, but it has been a bit
- 18:32Speaker 4: of an aging diamonds, right, A little bit of an
- 18:35Speaker 4: aging diamonds. A few injury concerns around how many changes
- 18:39Speaker 4: do the diamonds make now? And potentially blood in Commonwealth
- 18:43Speaker 4: Games to ensure that World Cup isn't a dead bit
- 18:47Speaker 4: moment or or whatever.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Like it's it's a really interesting one.
- 18:50Speaker 3: I'd go one step further though, blood them now this year?
- 18:53Speaker 2: Oh no, no, and I mean this year?
- 18:55Speaker 3: Sorry, I mean now, what do these this series look
- 18:58Speaker 3: like this year?
- 18:59Speaker 1: Like that?
- 18:59Speaker 3: If you're going to changes, do it now?
- 19:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 19:01Speaker 4: Well, phone calls are happening as we speak, guys. Today's
- 19:04Speaker 4: the day the players get their phone call, whether.
- 19:06Speaker 3: They're in the squad, how many in the squad?
- 19:07Speaker 4: Gordy, No, it hasn't been confirmed, Kat, I'd love to
- 19:10Speaker 4: talk to you in detail about it.
- 19:11Speaker 2: I actually don't even get it myself. There's some new
- 19:13Speaker 2: change in the diamonds CPA.
- 19:15Speaker 4: That's kind of my understanding if the Diamonds coach is
- 19:18Speaker 4: a little bit restricting to the way in which she
- 19:20Speaker 4: has to select her numbers. Now, whereas there's been some
- 19:23Speaker 4: flexibility about it in the past, I think has got
- 19:26Speaker 4: to do with payman.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Do you know what? I appreciate they've got to be supported,
- 19:30Speaker 3: But that's that's ball has censored myself then for the
- 19:34Speaker 3: players and their opportunity, I would do that for free
- 19:39Speaker 3: for ever in a day, Like, why does it suddenly
- 19:41Speaker 3: have to be all about them being supported financially or
- 19:45Speaker 3: whatever when players are going to miss an opportunity to
- 19:47Speaker 3: be in that environment. I mean, if that's what it's
- 19:49Speaker 3: coming down to, which it sounds.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Like I've got to be careful what I say here.
- 19:53Speaker 1: So well, I think it's an issue of exploitation, right, So, yes,
- 19:57Speaker 1: these young people who are ambitious will do that for free.
- 20:00Speaker 3: But they're not going to get selected if they're not deserving.
- 20:03Speaker 3: You know, you know what I mean? You like, you're
- 20:05Speaker 3: not flogging every single person for no reason. These players
- 20:08Speaker 3: would only get selected if they were good enough to
- 20:11Speaker 3: be selected. And now, if Stacey Marinkovitch's hands are tired
- 20:14Speaker 3: and she can't give someone an opportunity that deserves it
- 20:16Speaker 3: because of numbers or limits or caps or whatever it is,
- 20:20Speaker 3: that's ridiculous.
- 20:22Speaker 1: They can't sell tickets for money and then say, ask
- 20:26Speaker 1: the people who are playing to have a crack for
- 20:30Speaker 1: free and see what happens. It happens a lot in
- 20:33Speaker 1: the comedy world that it's like, ohh, the promoter gets
- 20:36Speaker 1: paid and the audience is none the wiser that the
- 20:38Speaker 1: comedians are not getting paid, and it's like it's exploiting
- 20:41Speaker 1: someone's ambition and desire to get further along. But I
- 20:44Speaker 1: just think as a general principle, there is a requirement
- 20:48Speaker 1: to be treating professional athletes as professional athletes at all
- 20:52Speaker 1: times and not going unless you want to be unprofessional
- 20:54Speaker 1: or see how we go.
- 20:55Speaker 3: No, I completely disagree because people are missing an opportunity.
- 21:00Speaker 3: If I'm on the edge of that and I'm deserving
- 21:02Speaker 3: of a spot, and I would do it in a
- 21:04Speaker 3: heartbeat to better myself and put my hand up for selection,
- 21:09Speaker 3: but I can't be chosen because of some stupid cap.
- 21:12Speaker 3: That's ridiculous. Yeah, and therefore I miss out. I should
- 21:16Speaker 3: be able to make that decision. You won't be supported,
- 21:18Speaker 3: that's up to you. Do you want to come or not.
- 21:21Speaker 3: I don't know, that's just a yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 4: The key thing here Cat though, is just and again
- 21:26Speaker 4: the detail is the most important thing here. I just
- 21:28Speaker 4: know that there's been a change in the CPA. I
- 21:31Speaker 4: just I would hate to be the Diamond's coach and
- 21:34Speaker 4: have any restrictions, right like, at the end of the day,
- 21:37Speaker 4: your head's on the chopping block. So I would just
- 21:40Speaker 4: want to make sure that as a coach, I'm given
- 21:43Speaker 4: as much flexibility to select when I need to. However,
- 21:47Speaker 4: I need to to ensure that I can be successful,
- 21:50Speaker 4: and whatever pieces of the puzzle and mechanisms that need
- 21:52Speaker 4: to be put in place, whether it's amper in the
- 21:54Speaker 4: CPA or whether it's the budget that supports the Diamonds program,
- 21:58Speaker 4: that's the key to it. I think it just we've
- 22:00Speaker 4: got to find the balance here.
- 22:02Speaker 1: So good chat, good chat, rat chat. So I'm thinking
- 22:20Speaker 1: about the fans who are happy this week. So Fever
- 22:23Speaker 1: fans are happy.
- 22:25Speaker 3: VA fans are doing it. I saw them doing a
- 22:27Speaker 3: conger line.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I reckon the t Birds fans are happy. I think
- 22:31Speaker 1: the Giants fans are happy, and the Firebirds fans are
- 22:34Speaker 1: probably happy. I think the unhappy fans are the fans
- 22:39Speaker 1: of the Swifts, the MAVs, the Vixen's and the other team,
- 22:45Speaker 1: the Lightning. Obviously, Lightning fans are very unhappy.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Vixen's fans will still be happy because they're still in finals,
- 22:52Speaker 3: and I think they were decent in that game.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I think they were decent in that game.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I reckon they will definitely still be happy, but
- 22:57Speaker 3: I feel like this, I mean, the Swifts are going
- 22:59Speaker 3: into a major final. The fans should be happy, but
- 23:02Speaker 3: I think given on form, you're right.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I feel for the Vixens fans because the Vixen's were
- 23:06Speaker 1: heard and they finished fourth, and they've been they've been
- 23:09Speaker 1: assured of a finals position for longer, so it's like
- 23:12Speaker 1: they have a right to think, well, I wish we
- 23:14Speaker 1: were heard and having a home final, And I really
- 23:17Speaker 1: feel for the Vixens having to go back to the
- 23:20Speaker 1: scene of the crime of last year's Grand Final, like
- 23:23Speaker 1: I'm in a different arena, but it's like they've got
- 23:25Speaker 1: to go back into Thunderbird's territory and fight for their lives.
- 23:29Speaker 3: And they haven't won the last five games against the
- 23:33Speaker 3: Tea Birds, Like, at what point does that become a
- 23:35Speaker 3: mental battle more than anything?
- 23:36Speaker 1: Else, what's happened?
- 23:41Speaker 2: Hello? Hello, hello? Hello?
- 23:43Speaker 3: He he that if she was being quiet or for
- 23:46Speaker 3: we'd lost her? No idea what just happened?
- 23:54Speaker 1: I'm not hearing anything. Goddamn shit?
- 23:59Speaker 3: Are you back, Gordy mother?
- 24:04Speaker 2: Hello? Hello?
- 24:07Speaker 1: Goddamn ship?
- 24:12Speaker 2: Hello hello?
- 24:17Speaker 1: Can you hear us to piss?
- 24:25Speaker 2: Hello? Hello? Hello? Hello? Hello Hello?
- 24:29Speaker 1: We've lost Sue?
- 24:33Speaker 3: Yes, so that will be a big ass to go
- 24:36Speaker 3: back to Adelaide and get that job done. Considering the
- 24:40Speaker 3: last five Wow, yeah, start to add up, start to
- 24:44Speaker 3: play with your head.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Who do you reckon? Will be the grand finalist?
- 24:48Speaker 3: My grand final is the Thunderbirds and the Fever.
- 24:51Speaker 1: What it's looking like for me to jes Swifts?
- 24:55Speaker 3: Come on, well, let's get to the Giants game. Then
- 24:57Speaker 3: the first game of the round. How good and like
- 25:00Speaker 3: Joe Harton to go out, but to play as well
- 25:05Speaker 3: as she did and then finished with this just the
- 25:08Speaker 3: best mess. She's rock solid though not a tear. We
- 25:13Speaker 3: kept we kept looking at her and waiting for some
- 25:15Speaker 3: emotion to creep in. Nothing, not even at the end
- 25:17Speaker 3: when she was having a chat and she was holding
- 25:20Speaker 3: a newborn baby, baby Eddie. Nothing. Oh my god, I'm
- 25:24Speaker 3: over here balling I'm completely out of that.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I was crying through the whole thing. Yeah, I just
- 25:28Speaker 1: thought it was great. I wanted to talk to you.
- 25:30Speaker 1: So you were in your final game, the last few
- 25:34Speaker 1: minutes for you, you knew you were going to win it,
- 25:37Speaker 1: didn't you, Because I remember, like Liz's last game, it's
- 25:40Speaker 1: like it wasn't until the it wasn't until the siren. Yeah,
- 25:43Speaker 1: that you knew you'd won it, and so there was
- 25:45Speaker 1: no time for that emotion to get in. I was
- 25:47Speaker 1: thinking about that with the Giants game because it was
- 25:49Speaker 1: so tight for a long time, and I thought, I
- 25:51Speaker 1: hope they get a little bit of time, you know,
- 25:53Speaker 1: I hope they get ahead and give her some time.
- 25:55Speaker 1: And so she did have that last few minutes where
- 25:57Speaker 1: it's like, look, you're clearly going to win this game now,
- 26:00Speaker 1: and that chance to have that kind of look around,
- 26:04Speaker 1: soakity in whatever.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but no emotion, which was fascinating. And then I
- 26:09Speaker 3: saw her in the hallway underneath Ken Rose all or
- 26:12Speaker 3: in there after the game. I was like, how are
- 26:13Speaker 3: you feeling. She goes, I'm just relieved that was it
- 26:17Speaker 3: got through. They got the win and move on. But
- 26:19Speaker 3: I went back to the Giants headquarters because it's across
- 26:21Speaker 3: the road from the stadium, and they apparently go back
- 26:24Speaker 3: after most games. I've not done it before. And then
- 26:26Speaker 3: the AFL Boys if they've just played as well, they
- 26:28Speaker 3: go back there. And so both had played, both had won,
- 26:31Speaker 3: so the place was packed and it was just so
- 26:34Speaker 3: nice to be able to stop and talk to everybody
- 26:37Speaker 3: and catch up. And they all got their Joe Harton
- 26:39Speaker 3: Faces T shirts on, and the party bus came to
- 26:43Speaker 3: pick them up from the headquarters and off they went.
- 26:45Speaker 3: In my last game, Teagan Philip. She was when she
- 26:49Speaker 3: finished and she had the last shot of the game
- 26:52Speaker 3: in mind, and afterwards everyone was getting into her about
- 26:56Speaker 3: not passing the ball to me, and I was like,
- 26:57Speaker 3: oh god, I was oblivious. I don't care as long
- 26:59Speaker 3: as she goes in and we all get a moment
- 27:01Speaker 3: to celebrate. So it was funny, but that's all I
- 27:04Speaker 3: was thinking at the end of the game as well,
- 27:05Speaker 3: like get.
- 27:06Speaker 1: It to Joe Joe. And she did say she'd had
- 27:09Speaker 1: a wonderful week, which is really nice. And you know,
- 27:12Speaker 1: people express emotion differently, don't they, Like I had tears,
- 27:15Speaker 1: but I thought I thought she was clearly emotional, but
- 27:19Speaker 1: that she just expresses her emotions differently.
- 27:21Speaker 3: She was clenching a butchet exactly exactly.
- 27:24Speaker 1: What we were talking about, Braver, she's using the technique.
- 27:27Speaker 1: But can we talk about Giants HQ. So there's all
- 27:30Speaker 1: this talk about that the Giants might not be the
- 27:33Speaker 1: Giants next year, and that the AFL club might spin
- 27:36Speaker 1: them off again and Mountees. What do we know that
- 27:39Speaker 1: we can share?
- 27:40Speaker 3: Oh, look, we know bits, but we probably can't share.
- 27:42Speaker 3: I think the important wording in it is that there's
- 27:45Speaker 3: a transfer of the license that potentially happens, so it
- 27:49Speaker 3: may still remain the Giants. The Giants AFL doesn't own them,
- 27:54Speaker 3: that body South Wales still does, so that could shift.
- 27:58Speaker 3: I think feel like though, if somebody else was going
- 28:01Speaker 3: to pick it up, you'd probably want to change the name.
- 28:04Speaker 3: But this is the whole discussion.
- 28:05Speaker 1: It's just got my scarf.
- 28:06Speaker 2: No.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Well, this is my point though, because it's the same
- 28:08Speaker 3: thing with the mav Though. If that does happen, all
- 28:11Speaker 3: the players that played for them, that history is lost.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Yeah, like you're.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Kim Green's, you're Joe Harten's, you're Susan Pettitt's. All of
- 28:18Speaker 3: that history is lost. Someday people will stop talking about
- 28:21Speaker 3: the Giants because they've forgotten about them. Yeah, and I
- 28:24Speaker 3: was so sad.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Rugby League has shown us and the AFL has shown us.
- 28:29Speaker 1: So the Sydney Swans were the whatever blah blah South
- 28:32Speaker 1: South Melbourne? Yeah, yeah, was it South Melbourne that they were?
- 28:36Speaker 1: And they've still got a lot of people who are
- 28:38Speaker 1: connected with them because of that, because they've kept the
- 28:40Speaker 1: colors and they've kept a lot of that same identity,
- 28:43Speaker 1: and there are people from Melbourne who are fans of
- 28:47Speaker 1: the Sydney Swans because of that history and that connection.
- 28:50Speaker 1: And it's like we can actually have a different management
- 28:54Speaker 1: structure and governance processes and still maintain those traditions and
- 28:59Speaker 1: that history and keep those fans Like someone who recently
- 29:03Speaker 1: got their giant scarf.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Yeah, well it could be worth more.
- 29:07Speaker 1: It might be a collectors it could be a collect design.
- 29:10Speaker 3: So yes, we'll keep across that one and bring it
- 29:12Speaker 3: to you as we find out and if it does happen.
- 29:16Speaker 1: This is not netball related, but it did. It actually
- 29:19Speaker 1: cut across a little bit of my netball watching on
- 29:21Speaker 1: the weekend. I had to watch more on delay. I've
- 29:23Speaker 1: got a little thing that started in lockdown that is
- 29:28Speaker 1: a lot of fun. So there were a bunch of
- 29:29Speaker 1: a friend of mine set up this cooking club and
- 29:32Speaker 1: we would get together on a Sunday afternoon and we
- 29:35Speaker 1: would all cook the same recipe and we'd all have
- 29:37Speaker 1: gin and tonic or variations on a theme this on
- 29:41Speaker 1: zoom and cook dinner. And so we did it again
- 29:44Speaker 1: last night, and I chose the recipe this time, which
- 29:47Speaker 1: I've never done before and I won't be ever chosen
- 29:50Speaker 1: to do it again, I don't think. And it was
- 29:52Speaker 1: a Lambshank recipe. And then we're all meant to put
- 29:55Speaker 1: it on the table at our respective houses and share
- 29:57Speaker 1: the photos of it or whatever. And it was really
- 29:59Speaker 1: fun because one of the women who was originally in
- 30:01Speaker 1: at her daughter was doing HSC at the time during lockdown,
- 30:05Speaker 1: and sometimes Lucy would come on and you know, do
- 30:07Speaker 1: the chopping for her mum and whatever, and a mum
- 30:09Speaker 1: would have the gin and tonic. Anyway, this time, Lucy's
- 30:11Speaker 1: living independently in Canberra and a mum was driving down
- 30:14Speaker 1: to see her and Katie said, I can't be in.
- 30:16Speaker 1: It's like, well, Lucy needs to make you dinner. So
- 30:18Speaker 1: Lucy joined us. Now as an adult showed us around
- 30:21Speaker 1: her sharehouse. But my dinner on the table at a
- 30:24Speaker 1: quarter to ten last night. So yeah, the Lambshanks were
- 30:28Speaker 1: not free. Don't know. It was meant to be a
- 30:30Speaker 1: two and a half hour recipe, a two and a
- 30:32Speaker 1: half hour cooking after the thing went in, but you know,
- 30:37Speaker 1: just hours of the lambs must be the size of
- 30:40Speaker 1: t rex this dam because they were so huge. But
- 30:43Speaker 1: it just took forever.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Take me back to Lockdown though, because all the recipes,
- 30:47Speaker 3: did they end up even though it was the same recipe,
- 30:48Speaker 3: did they end up vastly different depending on how much
- 30:51Speaker 3: people are drunk?
- 30:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 30:52Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, some people could play up something that
- 30:55Speaker 1: looks pretty fancy. Mine's always a bit slapdash. But it
- 30:59Speaker 1: was one of the things that came out of COVID
- 31:02Speaker 1: and Lockdown that it's like, this is nice. I quite
- 31:06Speaker 1: like to hang onto this because it's so hard for
- 31:08Speaker 1: us all to get together. But it's like, well, if
- 31:10Speaker 1: we do this on a Sunday afternoon at four o'clock,
- 31:13Speaker 1: we're on this zoom thing for an hour and a
- 31:15Speaker 1: half together and then we're all in our homes, We're
- 31:18Speaker 1: not you know, it just was it an easier way to
- 31:20Speaker 1: catch up, and it was so fun.
- 31:22Speaker 3: I love this though, because I can imagine the camera
- 31:24Speaker 3: pans to Carol and and she's given up. She's got
- 31:26Speaker 3: the gin and bag of chips to sit there at
- 31:29Speaker 3: the corner of the kitchen.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Well, one of my friends, Laura, who was involved, she
- 31:34Speaker 1: actually had forgotten about it and she put a cake
- 31:36Speaker 1: in the oven so she couldn't cook. She just had to.
- 31:39Speaker 1: She just sat there with her gin and tonic talk.
- 31:41Speaker 1: We love it, said, it's actually boring when you're not cooking.
- 31:43Speaker 1: It's like I will piss off.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Then, oh that's so good.
- 31:46Speaker 1: On one st, we call ourselves the Fermented and Demented
- 31:49Speaker 1: Cooking Club.
- 31:50Speaker 3: I feel like I could qualify for that.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you could too. Actually thought about you,
- 31:53Speaker 1: but I thought, oh, she so, Catherine. Something we haven't
- 32:03Speaker 1: done in a little while, and in part our fault,
- 32:08Speaker 1: in part because we haven't had the nominations, is win
- 32:10Speaker 1: beneath our wings.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Get out.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I have one this week?
- 32:13Speaker 1: How good?
- 32:13Speaker 3: How did you know that?
- 32:15Speaker 1: And you know I've also got one too, so but
- 32:17Speaker 1: I think that because this is the week where we've
- 32:20Speaker 1: done the big announcement of the Valor Dribblers, tipping comp winner.
- 32:23Speaker 1: We will get back into our win beneath the Wings
- 32:25Speaker 1: next week. But of course, all right, yeah, of course,
- 32:27Speaker 1: don't forget dribblers that we do need nominations for win
- 32:30Speaker 1: beneath our Wings, and we are deep in the community
- 32:33Speaker 1: netball season, so obviously there are lots of people on
- 32:36Speaker 1: your mind who have done a wonderful job at keeping
- 32:38Speaker 1: our game alive at the community level. If you get
- 32:41Speaker 1: on the web page no dribble dot com dot Au,
- 32:44Speaker 1: there's a little record thing there. You can send us
- 32:46Speaker 1: a voice message if you want to do it that way.
- 32:48Speaker 1: We're like that because then we can play it. Or
- 32:51Speaker 1: you can email us at info at no dribble dot
- 32:53Speaker 1: com dot Au. Or you can get on the Instagram
- 32:56Speaker 1: page which is no Underscorre Dribble Underscore podcast.
- 33:00Speaker 3: It's a bit problematically, I've seen.
- 33:01Speaker 1: To be problematic. Try that one. Or you can DMUs
- 33:05Speaker 1: through the Facebook page. You can slide into my DMS
- 33:09Speaker 1: and send me a message there. We've still got some
- 33:11Speaker 1: scrunches from last year. We did such a good job.
- 33:15Speaker 1: These are the real collector's items. They are rustic and.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Hand by integrated by now no, that's still there. We've
- 33:27Speaker 3: lost gaudy momentarily that I don't know what's happening in
- 33:30Speaker 3: the wild West, but something's going on.
- 33:32Speaker 1: As the world ended outside our studio and we don't know,
- 33:34Speaker 1: but the internet has gone offline. I wanted to ask
- 33:37Speaker 1: her something and this is something I will I will
- 33:38Speaker 1: have put up on the Facebook by the time this
- 33:40Speaker 1: episode goes to it, because we're running out of time.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Triple J has their Hottest one hundred every year, but
- 33:46Speaker 1: now there is a thing on the ABC the Hottest
- 33:48Speaker 1: one hundred Australian songs of all time, and you pick
- 33:52Speaker 1: your top ten and it's such an interesting exercise and
- 33:55Speaker 1: I want all the Dribblers to do it. One because
- 33:58Speaker 1: I want us to influence what the hottest one hundred
- 34:01Speaker 1: Australian songs are with the netball community, because I think
- 34:04Speaker 1: we've got good taste. But two, I want everyone to
- 34:07Speaker 1: do their top ten and then share it in the
- 34:10Speaker 1: Facebook group and then I or possibly Darryl Milton will
- 34:14Speaker 1: do some stats on it and will work out what
- 34:16Speaker 1: is the No Dribble hottest one hundred Australian songs.
- 34:20Speaker 3: We're only doing ten, though, aren't we do we pick ten?
- 34:23Speaker 1: You only have to pick ten which is very hard
- 34:25Speaker 1: because for me, some of the songs that were my
- 34:28Speaker 1: favorite and most meaningful songs to me that I think
- 34:30Speaker 1: are absolute bangers, I don't think they that necessarily the
- 34:34Speaker 1: national classic like I put Ksan and Thunderstruck there, not
- 34:38Speaker 1: because they're necessarily the songs that are my favorite. I
- 34:41Speaker 1: think they're both fantastic songs, but because I think, well,
- 34:44Speaker 1: they are kind of transformative Australian songs. So I feel
- 34:48Speaker 1: like I had to vote for them, even though and
- 34:50Speaker 1: some of the other ones that I voted for niche
- 34:53Speaker 1: sorry Where's Land down Under? That I didn't have it
- 34:57Speaker 1: in my top ten. I didn't have any in excess
- 35:00Speaker 1: my top ten, Like it's been hard in your top ten?
- 35:02Speaker 1: Have Midnight Oil, No No, I had Paul Kelly. I
- 35:06Speaker 1: had Crowded House, which I think is a little bit
- 35:08Speaker 1: contentious because it's Kiwi's, but well, Paul hest is not
- 35:12Speaker 1: not a Kiwi. I didn't have any Hunters and Collectors.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Like ten is hard because you've only got room for
- 35:17Speaker 1: so much, So get around because I think they're voting
- 35:20Speaker 1: closes on Wednesday or Thursday, so I'm going to put
- 35:23Speaker 1: this on the Facebook group. I was really keen to
- 35:25Speaker 1: hear Gordy's thoughts on this, because I know she loves
- 35:27Speaker 1: a bit.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Oh she's some choose in the Yeah for sure.
- 35:30Speaker 1: But I think we're going to have to just sign
- 35:32Speaker 1: off without like we need to go send out a
- 35:34Speaker 1: search party, maybe Western Australia, go and find Sue Gordian forrest,
- 35:38Speaker 1: let us know that she is still alive.
- 35:40Speaker 3: You know what I'll do, I'll commit. I'm going to
- 35:42Speaker 3: fly over there this week and I'm going to find her.
- 35:45Speaker 1: You're a giver. Well, actually, when Liz went missing, we
- 35:47Speaker 1: didn't go and find her, but we've learnt from that
- 35:49Speaker 1: and now you need to go to Western Australia. So
- 35:51Speaker 1: you are calling the game on Sunday.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Yes, and I get to do it with Gordi my
- 35:55Speaker 3: first one.
- 35:56Speaker 1: How fun year?
- 35:58Speaker 3: Oh, very excited.
- 36:00Speaker 1: I have such fomo.
- 36:01Speaker 3: I'm so I wish I was there.
- 36:03Speaker 1: That's going to be great. I'm pumped.
- 36:05Speaker 3: So yes, s Gordie, I'm coming for you.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Well, I'm sure God is fine. We will make sure
- 36:09Speaker 1: that we can report on her whereabouts. So it's just
- 36:12Speaker 1: an Internet connectivity thing, but we've lost it. But dribblers,
- 36:14Speaker 1: thanks for joining us again for another well it's been
- 36:17Speaker 1: tumultuous from a technological perspective here, but a great chat.
- 36:21Speaker 1: And yes, congrats to Lisa Bass winner at the Valor
- 36:25Speaker 1: Dribbler's Tipping comp and big thanks to Valor for supporting
- 36:27Speaker 1: that with us. Have a great week. If your team
- 36:30Speaker 1: is not in the finals, get behind another team. It's
- 36:33Speaker 1: going to be three interesting weeks, I think, and I
- 36:36Speaker 1: hope that we see some some upsets.
- 36:38Speaker 3: So your tips of the weekend. Just before we go
- 36:41Speaker 3: quickly you're going fever and.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, have a great week. See you GOLs.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Bye. Hello, Hello,
