- 0:10Speaker 2: Podcast Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. FIFA's taken over our building,
- 0:20Speaker 2: not fully yet. Yeah, we've stated, we've.
- 0:24Speaker 3: We've felt it in the parking lots. It's going to
- 0:25Speaker 3: be disruptive to our lives.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Not for me, but that way, I recognize how important
- 0:30Speaker 2: it is for everybody.
- 0:31Speaker 4: On your toe long walk from Lot seven. He's gonna
- 0:34Speaker 4: hate soccer more than he ever has.
- 0:36Speaker 3: We know for sure that the Patriots are going to Munich.
- 0:39Speaker 3: They're going to play the Lions. Are we excited?
- 0:41Speaker 5: I think that's a very advantageous break for us to
- 0:44Speaker 5: not have to play in Detroit.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Indoors in Detroit where they were coming. But it's a
- 0:49Speaker 2: better game than the last time.
- 0:50Speaker 6: We were in Germany with the fans over there like
- 0:52Speaker 6: they deserve to see a good game and to see
- 0:55Speaker 6: the Patriots win a game because they're the they're the best.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I've lost on a film that work.
- 1:00Speaker 7: When I was in Italy, I came back, gone, not
- 1:02Speaker 7: gone to look in the section and the.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Evident usually he.
- 1:09Speaker 7: Didn't get along with some people. I'm not saying it
- 1:11Speaker 7: was his fault.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Paul Perella and Brown at odds with may Listen, I'm
- 1:15Speaker 2: not a football coach, I'm not Evan. I'm not bringing
- 1:18Speaker 2: down all the routes. Why is this?
- 1:24Speaker 7: Why is why does anybody just why does anybody feel
- 1:28Speaker 7: that's That's the biggest bitch call we've ever gotten on
- 1:31Speaker 7: this show.
- 1:32Speaker 8: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for
- 1:36Speaker 8: deals by a Toyota dot com.
- 1:40Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:44Speaker 2: at Hot Gillette. Summer is here, just like that bang.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Yeah, like the big bang, Evan, there was nothing and
- 1:53Speaker 3: then there was summer.
- 1:55Speaker 6: But what was nothing?
- 1:57Speaker 2: I'm you're going back to when I was away there.
- 2:00Speaker 3: But no, it's like in the low nineties, right, Yeah, yeah,
- 2:05Speaker 3: I love it.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Bring it on, bring it on to love it. Love
- 2:08Speaker 2: it too hot.
- 2:08Speaker 6: It's too hot.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I'll take it anytime. Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 3: So we're here with our Tuesday show of Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It's Paul, it's Evan, it's me. Deuce is out, Matt's
- 2:20Speaker 3: in the booth. We're talking Patriots and you know, a
- 2:24Speaker 3: lot has happened since we had our last show on Tuesday,
- 2:26Speaker 3: we had the schedule released Thursday night. Fortune Foxborough dropped
- 2:31Speaker 3: on Friday. We can talk about both of those things.
- 2:35Speaker 3: What else, What else is going on in Patriots world
- 2:37Speaker 3: that you want to put on the table.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think there's anything too pressing.
- 2:43Speaker 6: No, not a whole lot. Obviously, Ota is next week.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll get a chance to get out on the field. Yeah,
- 2:50Speaker 2: next week.
- 2:51Speaker 6: So twenty seven, you know, starting to think of things
- 2:54Speaker 6: that you know you'll be looking for and all that
- 2:56Speaker 6: kind of stuff, But not a whole lot. You know,
- 2:59Speaker 6: we're but two weeks away from aj Brown potentially being
- 3:02Speaker 6: a Patriot potentially the countdown is on.
- 3:05Speaker 2: We're less than a month away from mandatory mini camp.
- 3:08Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah, we're moving along here a little bit. I mean,
- 3:10Speaker 6: that's what happens when you go to the Super Bowl
- 3:12Speaker 6: fread is that everything start, it gets short, it gets
- 3:14Speaker 6: shortened so that it sort of sneaks up. Doesn't feel as.
- 3:18Speaker 2: It is a little bit.
- 3:19Speaker 7: I feel like I'm behind a little bit on some things,
- 3:22Speaker 7: administrative things.
- 3:23Speaker 6: I feel like it's just happening a lot faster, Like
- 3:25Speaker 6: I haven't really felt like this is a true off
- 3:28Speaker 6: season time yet because we haven't really had that, which
- 3:31Speaker 6: is good.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I think I think it's to me it's kind of
- 3:34Speaker 2: off season, right.
- 3:35Speaker 6: I like keeping I like keep him busy because I
- 3:37Speaker 6: don't like the off season gets.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Boring football wise. It does, but yeah, there are other things.
- 3:43Speaker 2: There's a lot to do, right, and there's a lot.
- 3:44Speaker 6: To do on occasion.
- 3:46Speaker 7: On occasion, there are a lot of things to do
- 3:48Speaker 7: in the off season. Sure there is. You know, there
- 3:52Speaker 7: is no off season anymore, Fred.
- 3:54Speaker 6: No days off.
- 3:55Speaker 7: No, but like you know, you got a lot of
- 3:57Speaker 7: you know, like you talked about Fortune and Foxborough.
- 3:59Speaker 1: You just mad.
- 4:00Speaker 7: It's a huge project that you know, we as a
- 4:01Speaker 7: content department do. I'm not intimately involved with the project,
- 4:05Speaker 7: but it's something that our department.
- 4:07Speaker 2: While you hear your voice.
- 4:08Speaker 7: Yeah, I only heard Evans on this episode, but that's okay.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yep, No, I heard Joys. You did. I thought I
- 4:16Speaker 2: heard Patriots are at the Combine?
- 4:18Speaker 6: Oh yeah, that was you.
- 4:19Speaker 2: That was you. That was you. I didn't even recognize
- 4:22Speaker 2: my own voice. Yeah, that was you.
- 4:24Speaker 6: Oh boy.
- 4:25Speaker 2: The sultry tones of Dulce all right. Yeah, So if
- 4:32Speaker 2: anyone wants to you know, give a critique good or
- 4:34Speaker 2: bad about Forge. We're open to it. And then weird
- 4:37Speaker 2: the schedule?
- 4:37Speaker 7: Did it feels like it came out so long ago,
- 4:40Speaker 7: but the last show we did Thursday, it officially hadn't
- 4:43Speaker 7: been released. That's right, So give us your thoughts on
- 4:46Speaker 7: opening Wednesday night NFL kickoff in Seattle as we sort of.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Yeah, so we talked about you know, if they did,
- 4:53Speaker 3: is that a good thing or a bad thing on
- 4:56Speaker 3: the last show, And you know, I'm still ambivalent about
- 4:59Speaker 3: it because I think on the one hand, you get
- 5:02Speaker 3: them early, maybe you know they're they've had some changes,
- 5:07Speaker 3: maybe they're just not gonna be up to speed. But
- 5:09Speaker 3: on the other hand, neither will we perhaps and particularly
- 5:13Speaker 3: Drake May. So I'd love to, you know, get that
- 5:17Speaker 3: second shot at the Seahawks when Drake May sort of
- 5:20Speaker 3: has taken that next step mentally as a quarterback. But hey,
- 5:24Speaker 3: you play them when they when they schedule them, right,
- 5:27Speaker 3: I think I got no complaints.
- 5:29Speaker 6: I think this would probably be better to me, just
- 5:31Speaker 6: because week ones are weird and once they get into
- 5:35Speaker 6: the season, if you're playing Seattle and it's gonna be hard.
- 5:38Speaker 6: Whenever you play Seattle, they're the best team in the league,
- 5:40Speaker 6: so it's gonna be a hard game no matter what.
- 5:42Speaker 6: So if you get into the game and then you
- 5:44Speaker 6: you know, you play them in week twelve and they're
- 5:47Speaker 6: ten and two in their role in my dad, seems
- 5:50Speaker 6: a lot more of a difficult game. Then let's say
- 5:52Speaker 6: playing them in the opener, like we've seen some really
- 5:56Speaker 6: weird results week one.
- 5:58Speaker 7: Week one is weird, as you got, I said, But
- 6:00Speaker 7: I also think there is a an oddity of playing
- 6:04Speaker 7: that game. And I know that the record is really
- 6:06Speaker 7: good for the defending champ, you know. I think I
- 6:09Speaker 7: mentioned last week that the numbers was sixteen and five
- 6:12Speaker 7: since they kind of started that defending champ hosting the
- 6:15Speaker 7: NFL kickoff, So the number, the numbers say, it's really good.
- 6:20Speaker 7: I just think it's kind of a weird emotional game
- 6:23Speaker 7: for the team that's celebrating. It's sort of looking back.
- 6:27Speaker 7: I think Bill used to hate these games. Yeah, you know,
- 6:29Speaker 7: because you know, you're trying so hard to put what
- 6:32Speaker 7: was accomplished in the past and the rearview mirror and
- 6:34Speaker 7: focusing on the future, and then you have this one
- 6:37Speaker 7: last reminder of oh, we're pretty cool, you know, there's
- 6:40Speaker 7: a banner up there that celebrates everything we did.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I think emotionally move on now. Yeah, that'll be his thing. Yeah,
- 6:46Speaker 2: can we move on now?
- 6:47Speaker 7: So I think Kevin said it right. There's no great
- 6:49Speaker 7: time to play at Seattle. Sales a very good team.
- 6:52Speaker 7: Patriots are you know, supposed to be a very good team.
- 6:55Speaker 3: So now here's a wayman week one that I don't
- 6:58Speaker 3: hear anyone talking about out preseason.
- 7:02Speaker 6: Yeah, weird preseason.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 3: So they're playing the Eagles, which we knew, but yeah,
- 7:06Speaker 3: they're playing the Colts and the Browns.
- 7:08Speaker 6: No Giants, Yeah, no giants. No commanders usually are in there, Yeah,
- 7:13Speaker 6: something like that. Something.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I'm not happy the.
- 7:15Speaker 6: Browns in the preseason is a bizarre one that one
- 7:18Speaker 6: I have not experienced.
- 7:20Speaker 2: It's usually look at the network that that commanders. I'm
- 7:24Speaker 2: not happy and I'm not happy about that.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's a nationally or national game, so it
- 7:30Speaker 3: won't be KSP produced and Paul doesn't get it was
- 7:33Speaker 3: Bob's furniture.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Shouldn't have dates, shouldn't. Yeah.
- 7:37Speaker 3: So they're playing the Colts on August thirteenth, that's at home,
- 7:41Speaker 3: seven thirty, it's a Thursday. Then they're playing the Eagles,
- 7:45Speaker 3: preceded by a joint practice. Uh here uh, And that'll
- 7:49Speaker 3: be Saturday, the twenty second at seven, and then they
- 7:53Speaker 3: travel to Cleveland for the last one on the twenty seventh,
- 7:56Speaker 3: and that'll be on a Thursday as well.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I interesting how they handle those two games?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Go ahead?
- 8:00Speaker 6: Yeah, no, I was gonna say the same thing. You know,
- 8:02Speaker 6: five days in between those two games and the Eagles week,
- 8:04Speaker 6: you'll have the joint practice, and you'll have the preseason game,
- 8:07Speaker 6: and then you have the opener. You know, the opener
- 8:09Speaker 6: is a little bit of a quicker turnaround than it
- 8:12Speaker 6: would be normally. So they haven't really played anybody in
- 8:16Speaker 6: that last preseason game anyways in a couple of years.
- 8:20Speaker 6: But how do they handle that preseason finale will definitely
- 8:23Speaker 6: be interesting because it's so condensed.
- 8:27Speaker 3: And you know, they they start, like we just talked about,
- 8:30Speaker 3: in Seattle, so that's a long trip. But then they
- 8:33Speaker 3: have eleven days until the next game because they're playing
- 8:37Speaker 3: on a Wednesday to open the season.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Pittsburgh comes here, and I like that spot.
- 8:43Speaker 6: Aaron Rodgers comes here.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I really like that spot.
- 8:45Speaker 7: I do too, especially after what happened last year here
- 8:48Speaker 7: in a similar time.
- 8:49Speaker 2: If you I think it was Week three last year,
- 8:50Speaker 2: all those turnovers. Yeah, yeah, yes, So I like that spot.
- 8:55Speaker 6: I was another little bit of NFL news.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah, And should I just go down the schedules? Do
- 8:58Speaker 2: you want to just go down? Yeah?
- 9:00Speaker 3: So then then the next week, on the twenty seventh,
- 9:03Speaker 3: they go to Jacksonville, So they got some making up
- 9:06Speaker 3: to do in Jacksonville.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Too, right.
- 9:08Speaker 6: I'm very curious to see the Jaguars have been a
- 9:11Speaker 6: seesaw team. One year they're in the playoffs, the next
- 9:13Speaker 6: year they're picking top ten, and they've gone back and forth,
- 9:16Speaker 6: back and forth for the last like half decades. So
- 9:19Speaker 6: interested to see if they can sustain their success that
- 9:22Speaker 6: they had in the first year with Liam Khane.
- 9:23Speaker 7: So that's one that I think does not fall in
- 9:26Speaker 7: a great spot for the Patriots because of what Evan
- 9:29Speaker 7: just said. Jacksonville's sort of been a jacko and hide team. Well,
- 9:33Speaker 7: they haven't hit a hide spot yet.
- 9:35Speaker 2: You know, if they're.
- 9:36Speaker 7: Going to be a bad team, I would rather wait,
- 9:38Speaker 7: you know, six, seven, eight weeks in, maybe they're two
- 9:41Speaker 7: and six and you know, you feel a lot better
- 9:44Speaker 7: about it.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Week three down there, you know, hot should be pretty hot.
- 9:49Speaker 6: Oh god, I remember.
- 9:50Speaker 7: Not a great spot nineteen right it was or it
- 9:53Speaker 7: was a scatcha it was.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 9: One.
- 9:56Speaker 7: There after we played the Jags in the AFC is
- 9:59Speaker 7: eighteen eighteen.
- 10:00Speaker 6: It was easily one of the hottest games I've ever.
- 10:03Speaker 2: And they got blasted in that.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Yeah, they did, and the place was thought that they
- 10:06Speaker 6: had just won the AFC Championship game.
- 10:08Speaker 2: That was a.
- 10:12Speaker 7: Disappointing year for Jacksonville to evans point. Yeah, but you
- 10:15Speaker 7: didn't know it was a disappointing year yet because they
- 10:18Speaker 7: still had hope at the beginning of the year.
- 10:20Speaker 2: They were good in seventeen.
- 10:21Speaker 7: They started off okay in eighteen again, this is just
- 10:24Speaker 7: don't know, that's not a great spot.
- 10:26Speaker 6: It was unbelievably hot, like hotter than Miami hot. Like
- 10:29Speaker 6: that was terrible.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Next week they go one o'clock to Buffalo. So week
- 10:36Speaker 3: four it's at Buffalo.
- 10:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yeah, And it was similar last year too.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Yeah, one o'clock game o'clock.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 6: Not a not a primetime spot, not a four to
- 10:45Speaker 6: twenty five new stadium, new stadium pills Patriots. I think
- 10:50Speaker 6: that Bill's Patriots has a chance to really be a
- 10:53Speaker 6: legit rivalry in Division rivalry, I think. So, you know,
- 10:56Speaker 6: Josh Allen and Drake made for the next ten years, right,
- 11:00Speaker 6: And so I'm a little surprised that neither Buffalo game.
- 11:02Speaker 6: I know the second one is like the Game of
- 11:04Speaker 6: the Week four twenty five Game of the Week window,
- 11:07Speaker 6: but I'm a little surprised that neither Buffalo game is
- 11:10Speaker 6: in primetime.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I agree. I was a little surprised by that.
- 11:13Speaker 7: To the good best, you know, and I know that
- 11:15Speaker 7: the Denver one, you know, I know Fred will get
- 11:18Speaker 7: to that. The Denver one later is one of those
- 11:20Speaker 7: you know, tbds, But I was surprised that one too.
- 11:24Speaker 6: Yeah, that could be a Saturday night or yeah, it could.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Be it could end up being another primetime game. Yeah.
- 11:28Speaker 3: So then you come home for two games. You got
- 11:30Speaker 3: on the eleventh of October. You got the Raiders here,
- 11:35Speaker 3: so that's another one where you get some making up
- 11:37Speaker 3: to do for last.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Week, the cupcake portion of the schedule.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you got the Jets here on the eighteenth,
- 11:43Speaker 3: also one o'clock games.
- 11:45Speaker 2: So those those two I would put in the must
- 11:47Speaker 2: win gyeah, those those are looking good. Then you get
- 11:51Speaker 2: your night tough again.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Yeah, then you get a Thursday night game. Uh short,
- 11:56Speaker 3: short week, You're going to Chicago, what are we thinking?
- 12:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's love that matchup as they all are.
- 12:05Speaker 6: Really fun game obviously, you know the first pick and
- 12:07Speaker 6: the third pick in the same draft. Both teams are
- 12:10Speaker 6: headed in the right direction. There's all sorts of storylines
- 12:13Speaker 6: of like these coaches easily could have been flipped, like
- 12:16Speaker 6: they Rable could be coaching the Bears and Ben Johnson
- 12:18Speaker 6: be coaching the Patriots. By the way, that whole thing
- 12:20Speaker 6: worked out. So fun game.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I really like my favorite match the whole Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:26Speaker 2: So then you open up November November one, four to
- 12:29Speaker 2: five game on CBS New England at Miami. Are the
- 12:35Speaker 2: Miami w got to be I'm looking at both the
- 12:40Speaker 2: Jets games and both Miami games as wins. But you
- 12:44Speaker 2: can't count on so I am too.
- 12:46Speaker 7: But I will say I'll accept reluctantly three and one.
- 12:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll accept the losing in Miami if it depending
- 12:54Speaker 6: on how it looks.
- 12:55Speaker 7: So I guess because it's just a hot I get
- 12:58Speaker 7: that with Miami, and you know, who know, maybe Malik
- 13:00Speaker 7: Willis is the next thing. Yeah, you know, I was
- 13:04Speaker 7: thinking more in terms of the Jets in that whole
- 13:08Speaker 7: Geno Smith kind of recaptures the Seattle magic thing.
- 13:12Speaker 6: Well, he has killed the Patriots to be fair right now, but.
- 13:14Speaker 7: If he plays the way he did last year, the
- 13:16Speaker 7: Jets are not beating the Patriots. If he plays the
- 13:18Speaker 7: way he did two years ago, then they could once.
- 13:22Speaker 6: I think the Jets and the Dolphins are both teams
- 13:24Speaker 6: that are tanking. They both want to be picking in
- 13:26Speaker 6: the top five. They want one of the quarterbacks. And
- 13:28Speaker 6: next year's training.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Miami certainly is. I don't know about the Jets.
- 13:31Speaker 6: If you want me absolute aspirations to go to the
- 13:34Speaker 6: playoffs again, they win the division, you got to win
- 13:36Speaker 6: those you gotta you gotta go four and I think
- 13:39Speaker 6: and then you gotta beat the Raiders.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I think those fair. I think that's fair. Yeah, that's
- 13:42Speaker 2: a fair point. So then the next week a Sunday game,
- 13:46Speaker 2: another four to twenty five game, the Packers travel to Gillette.
- 13:49Speaker 2: So you're playing the Packers for twenty five November eighth.
- 13:52Speaker 6: The goat will be in the house.
- 13:54Speaker 2: These are that's the one that Brady will do.
- 13:56Speaker 7: Yes, these are the games that I think will separate,
- 13:59Speaker 7: like do you have a another really good year or
- 14:01Speaker 7: you're just Okay, you know, not an easy game. Green
- 14:04Speaker 7: Bay's a good team. Yeah, yeah, you have met home.
- 14:07Speaker 7: I think you should win that game. You know again, Now,
- 14:09Speaker 7: there's a million things can change between now in the
- 14:12Speaker 7: middle of November when they play the game. But those
- 14:15Speaker 7: are the kinds of games to me that differentiate. Well,
- 14:18Speaker 7: we're gonna win eleven or twelve games again and show
- 14:20Speaker 7: you the last weekear it wasn't a fluke, or we're
- 14:22Speaker 7: gonna win eight or nine and you know, well they
- 14:24Speaker 7: were right about us.
- 14:25Speaker 2: It feels like.
- 14:26Speaker 6: A coin flip game to me.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Yep.
- 14:27Speaker 6: I really have a lot of respect for the Packers,
- 14:29Speaker 6: especially in the regular season. I just think that they're
- 14:31Speaker 6: a good regular season team.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Pants coach.
- 14:34Speaker 6: It is it is at the time. That's the time
- 14:36Speaker 6: of season though, where sometimes they do start a little
- 14:38Speaker 6: bit wonky and then they turn it on late in
- 14:41Speaker 6: the year. It's kind of right on the border that.
- 14:43Speaker 6: But it'll be Brady's first game in the booth for
- 14:47Speaker 6: a Patriots game.
- 14:48Speaker 7: I'll think about that, Freddy, any thoughts about Brady in
- 14:51Speaker 7: the booth, Well, I think that's the game and I
- 14:53Speaker 7: don't know anything.
- 14:55Speaker 3: This is just speculation, but I think that's the game
- 14:57Speaker 3: where you have you celebrate Gronk.
- 14:59Speaker 6: Right, Uh, could be Fox.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Game on Saturday. You do a thing for Gronk on Saturday. Interesting,
- 15:08Speaker 3: Maybe maybe Brady can take part.
- 15:10Speaker 7: I just automatically think of those as being much earlier
- 15:12Speaker 7: in the season.
- 15:12Speaker 2: But that's a great point. Maybe great thoughts.
- 15:15Speaker 6: I don't know if you know, Gronk has his own
- 15:18Speaker 6: Sunday media obligation, so I don't know if he's not.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Pregame, yes, yeah, but I don't know. We'll see. I'm
- 15:30Speaker 2: out of the media loop.
- 15:32Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm looking forward to Brady calling the game because
- 15:36Speaker 7: I just want to hear he's got to actually call
- 15:39Speaker 7: Patriot but we wasn't able.
- 15:40Speaker 2: To hear it. I know, well you will.
- 15:43Speaker 7: You have.
- 15:46Speaker 6: Probably anything that's notable will get clipped or talked about.
- 15:50Speaker 6: But he hasn't really had to candidly talk about the Patriots.
- 15:54Speaker 7: I haven't heard him do a lot of the games,
- 15:57Speaker 7: but I will say that consistently, a lot of people
- 16:00Speaker 7: seemed to be in agreement that it was a really
- 16:02Speaker 7: tough start, but he showed a lot of progress in
- 16:04Speaker 7: year two.
- 16:05Speaker 2: He's gotten better.
- 16:06Speaker 6: It's kind of like his playing career. He got his
- 16:08Speaker 6: getting better and better.
- 16:09Speaker 7: And I don't have a lot of that to toge
- 16:13Speaker 7: on my own. I haven't heard a lot of his games.
- 16:15Speaker 6: I think the issue that they they had is like
- 16:20Speaker 6: they got to figure out how to best like use him,
- 16:23Speaker 6: Like what's the best way to point him as the
- 16:25Speaker 6: play by play guy? As the producers like to me,
- 16:28Speaker 6: the best thing is is like just play quarterback, like
- 16:31Speaker 6: you you're Tom Brady. You're the greatest football mind at
- 16:35Speaker 6: that position maybe in the history of the game. So
- 16:37Speaker 6: just tell me, like, what are you looking at? What
- 16:39Speaker 6: are you thinking? What situation is it? Like, you know,
- 16:41Speaker 6: it's there's thirty seconds ago, you have one time out,
- 16:44Speaker 6: you're down by three, You're on this yard line.
- 16:46Speaker 7: Absolutely, Like what single thing I like the most about
- 16:49Speaker 7: the Manning cast, Yeah, is when they're late half situations
- 16:52Speaker 7: in Peyton and Eli do exactly what Evan just said.
- 16:55Speaker 6: I don't need hot. I don't need him to be
- 16:57Speaker 6: first take like I don't. I don't need him to
- 16:59Speaker 6: be get takes. I want him to be giving seeing.
- 17:02Speaker 2: As a quarterback. Yeah, sure, why not?
- 17:05Speaker 3: Uh So then Week ten, uh, the Patriots traveled to
- 17:09Speaker 3: Munich to play the Lions. It's a nine thirty game
- 17:12Speaker 3: in the morning here on the East Coast.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I think is a huge break for the Patriots. To me,
- 17:19Speaker 2: this is a must win for the fans. Yeah, I
- 17:24Speaker 2: do think that's a that's a huge break for the Patriots.
- 17:27Speaker 7: I think that would be a really difficult road game
- 17:29Speaker 7: that you don't have to play now.
- 17:31Speaker 2: But I will make a prediction, and the prediction is
- 17:34Speaker 2: Detroit's going to have a very disappointing season. So I
- 17:37Speaker 2: think that there's a couple of games. Disappointment last season.
- 17:40Speaker 6: Yep, there's a couple.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Of seasons injuries this season, they're just not going to
- 17:44Speaker 2: play well.
- 17:44Speaker 6: This is one of them. The Lions, the Chiefs. Like
- 17:48Speaker 6: what kind of team are they?
- 17:49Speaker 2: I put them in the Green Bay category.
- 17:51Speaker 7: Yeah, Like these are three games, Like you want to
- 17:53Speaker 7: be a really good team, You want to show the
- 17:55Speaker 7: last year wasn't the fluke.
- 17:56Speaker 2: You gotta win these games.
- 17:57Speaker 6: Yeah, But I just don't know, you know, did the
- 18:00Speaker 6: Lions bounce back and they go back to being a
- 18:02Speaker 6: juggernaut that they were two years ago, or did the
- 18:05Speaker 6: Chiefs get down get back? I would say I have
- 18:08Speaker 6: a better I feel better about the Lions bouncing back
- 18:12Speaker 6: from the Chiefs. I think the Chiefs roster still has
- 18:14Speaker 6: some issues.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I couldn't agree more. But I think the Lions they
- 18:17Speaker 2: did not do enough in the offseason.
- 18:19Speaker 6: But they had problems. You know. They their offensive coordinator
- 18:22Speaker 6: switched from Ben Johnson to uh, you know, Dan Campbell's
- 18:25Speaker 6: calling plays. By the end of the year. On offense,
- 18:27Speaker 6: it was a mess they.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Got they got problems.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Yeah, so must win. Not guaranteeing it because I think
- 18:33Speaker 3: it could be tough. But I think Detroit is going
- 18:35Speaker 3: to have a down year, and I think that's going
- 18:37Speaker 3: to help.
- 18:37Speaker 6: If they have another down year, then Dan Campbell is
- 18:40Speaker 6: getting hot.
- 18:40Speaker 2: You could be, could be maybe that's worn off a
- 18:43Speaker 2: little bit.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Week eleven is the buye, as it usually is when
- 18:47Speaker 3: the team travels internationally.
- 18:48Speaker 2: You get to buy in next week.
- 18:50Speaker 3: So Week twelve, though, is another cross country trip. You
- 18:54Speaker 3: go into LA to play the Chargers Sunday night.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Uh and uh look at a tough game. Yeah, but
- 19:03Speaker 2: we're going to beat those Chargers.
- 19:05Speaker 6: They'll take care of business.
- 19:07Speaker 2: We owe them, we owe them.
- 19:09Speaker 6: Like everybody just keeps telling me that the Chargers are
- 19:12Speaker 6: are Like I'm supposed to be scared of the Chargers,
- 19:16Speaker 6: like emerging, But I think that'll be a tough I'll
- 19:19Speaker 6: believe it when I see it. Yeah, like they they.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Tell me when you've won something. Yeah, yep.
- 19:25Speaker 7: I mean they did win eleven games with you know,
- 19:29Speaker 7: half a roster last year.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Good for them.
- 19:32Speaker 7: So you said, tell me when they win something. I
- 19:34Speaker 7: told you they just won eleven games last year.
- 19:36Speaker 6: I'm just saying that, you know. I think Herbert's a
- 19:38Speaker 6: great quarterback. I love washing him play.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I think he's really good. Okay, that's great. He just
- 19:44Speaker 2: went from it's a really.
- 19:45Speaker 6: Good Yeah, maybe great, strong, really good. I think he's
- 19:47Speaker 6: I think he's top ten. He's okay, I think he's
- 19:49Speaker 6: top ten in the league talent wise, certainly. But this
- 19:54Speaker 6: whole thing that you know, Jim Harbaugh was going to
- 19:56Speaker 6: come in there and turn them into a super Bowl
- 19:59Speaker 6: content their year in a year out.
- 20:01Speaker 2: We'll see. We'll see Week thirteen on Sunday. It's so
- 20:05Speaker 2: a meaningless win if they win. No, no, well, it
- 20:08Speaker 2: depends on it depends on whose.
- 20:10Speaker 7: I just I just like to know beforehand, you guys,
- 20:13Speaker 7: I'm a broken record with this. I like to know
- 20:15Speaker 7: how I'm supposed to feel after the Patriots win. Great,
- 20:18Speaker 7: you guys just crapped all over the opponent five months
- 20:22Speaker 7: before the game. So I don't want to hear you
- 20:24Speaker 7: crowing about the win if they meaning in the NFL,
- 20:29Speaker 7: meaningless hard to win in the NFL, it's actually not
- 20:33Speaker 7: us sixteen teams do.
- 20:35Speaker 6: It every week. Hard to win in the sometimes there's buys.
- 20:38Speaker 6: You said that if you're going to like be a
- 20:43Speaker 6: good team again, there's certain games you have to win.
- 20:46Speaker 6: To me, beating the Chargers is one of those games,
- 20:48Speaker 6: Like if the Patriots are going.
- 20:49Speaker 7: To That's how I feel about the Chargers, the Packers,
- 20:51Speaker 7: the Lions, those those win those I feel like those
- 20:54Speaker 7: are good teams. But if you want to be a
- 20:56Speaker 7: good team, you have to win more of those than
- 20:58Speaker 7: you lose. That's right, So I would put that in
- 21:00Speaker 7: a good win category. You guys disagree.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Meanings we say we disagree. You think stak tell me
- 21:06Speaker 2: when they've won something.
- 21:07Speaker 3: I meant, I'm that because of their Chargers, because of
- 21:12Speaker 3: what people say about it, because I don't think they're
- 21:15Speaker 3: a good.
- 21:16Speaker 7: When we coach, when we move on to the next segment,
- 21:19Speaker 7: when we do this, I'll need you to explain this
- 21:21Speaker 7: to me, okay, because I don't really understand.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Everyone has not smart. They go into every season this
- 21:26Speaker 2: is the year, and they never do it.
- 21:28Speaker 3: But that doesn't mean that they're not competitive and that
- 21:30Speaker 3: you can't play your worst.
- 21:32Speaker 2: And still beat them. You still have to play well
- 21:34Speaker 2: to beat them. As we've seen Week thirteen, Buffalo comes
- 21:39Speaker 2: here for twenty five games.
- 21:41Speaker 6: The game could be for the division, could be Yeah,
- 21:44Speaker 6: those types of.
- 21:45Speaker 3: You're getting down there. There's still a lot of football
- 21:47Speaker 3: to play after that.
- 21:48Speaker 6: But still but tie breakers.
- 21:50Speaker 7: And all that kind of are the only two teams
- 21:52Speaker 7: they have a chance to win the division?
- 21:53Speaker 6: Yep, Yeah, I mean I think that the lost here
- 21:57Speaker 6: last year, even though the Patriots ended up going on
- 21:59Speaker 6: to this Super bowled like that one, I think really
- 22:02Speaker 6: stung for a lot of people in that locker room.
- 22:04Speaker 6: I think they wanted Buffalo to beat Denver so that
- 22:08Speaker 6: they could have another shot at Buffalo because I think
- 22:09Speaker 6: they felt like they they kind of left let him
- 22:11Speaker 6: off the hook and they should have been.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Arrive over with then sort of took a little hit
- 22:16Speaker 2: from me with r A leaving you did you did
- 22:20Speaker 2: hate r I didn't hate him, but why do you
- 22:24Speaker 2: put words in my mouth? You're right, I didn't.
- 22:26Speaker 7: I should hate him? I shouldn't say fun to correct.
- 22:29Speaker 7: That's just much more accurate, much more accurate. I apologize.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I don't hate him, but there's no there's no red
- 22:35Speaker 2: ass anymore. You did you did love to poke at.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I don't know from Brady Well.
- 22:40Speaker 6: He this guy they internally promoted. So it's it's it's
- 22:44Speaker 6: still the same sort of program as we like to say.
- 22:48Speaker 6: It's just like now they have an offensive minded guy
- 22:51Speaker 6: who's a little bit not as strict.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I'll have to look for other reasons to really, you know,
- 22:57Speaker 2: I hate them because I actually like Josh Allen. Yeah,
- 23:03Speaker 2: I like Josh.
- 23:04Speaker 6: You all know it.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I wish he wasn't in our division because I like him.
- 23:08Speaker 7: Just in case you thought it was going to get
- 23:10Speaker 7: any different from Buffalo in general and sports.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Like now, they're just soul crushing defeat.
- 23:16Speaker 7: Last night they Game seven, the completely dominate the game
- 23:20Speaker 7: and find a way to lose because their goalie stinks.
- 23:22Speaker 6: I just said, I said, I'm like, I genuinely feel
- 23:25Speaker 6: bad about it at this point.
- 23:27Speaker 2: I don't the heart, but Brett, it's not just that
- 23:30Speaker 2: they jump through another table.
- 23:31Speaker 6: They have like heartbreaking like the game seven overtime in
- 23:38Speaker 6: hockey is one of the most.
- 23:39Speaker 7: Like everything in the game for like the last two
- 23:44Speaker 7: periods plus overtime, like was completely one sided. Yeah, and
- 23:49Speaker 7: the goalie let's in a harmless wrist shot from forty
- 23:52Speaker 7: five feet like just as when we were.
- 23:54Speaker 6: When I was watching it, you know, Tage had like
- 23:56Speaker 6: a mini breakaway.
- 23:57Speaker 2: He just couldn't get the shot, and I was like,
- 23:59Speaker 2: oh my.
- 23:59Speaker 6: God, like, not even he can do this for you.
- 24:02Speaker 6: It was it's they get.
- 24:04Speaker 7: They don't imagine if a Canadian broke in like that
- 24:07Speaker 7: and got held like that, they would have called seven
- 24:09Speaker 7: penalties on the Sabers, the fans would.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Have the Canadians would have thrown in jail.
- 24:14Speaker 6: It was very weird rooting interests as a Boston fan
- 24:19Speaker 6: because I think the more you know, my age, Boston
- 24:22Speaker 6: fans probably hate Buffalo a.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Little bit more. I can't root for the Canadian.
- 24:26Speaker 6: Right, I can't either, But I think because of the
- 24:28Speaker 6: Bills and because of you know, we probably hate Buffalo
- 24:31Speaker 6: a little bit more than Montreal because the Big Bruins
- 24:33Speaker 6: haven't really played Montreal in a meaningly meaningful playoffs series
- 24:37Speaker 6: or anything in a long time. But the og fans,
- 24:39Speaker 6: obviously Montreal is like the Yankees.
- 24:41Speaker 3: You know, Week fourteen, the Vikings come here for a
- 24:48Speaker 3: Thursday night game, the second Thursday night game of the season.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I'm going to put that one in the must win,
- 24:55Speaker 2: must win.
- 24:55Speaker 7: Yeah, Thursday night home game you shouldn't lose, first of all.
- 24:59Speaker 7: Second of all, Minnesota is a team that if you
- 25:03Speaker 7: don't take care of business, you can get in trouble
- 25:05Speaker 7: against for all the obvious reasons. Brian Floores is a
- 25:08Speaker 7: little bit difficult, but they're not going to have enough
- 25:11Speaker 7: offensively to give you a lot of problems. I don't
- 25:14Speaker 7: care if it's JJ McCarthy or Kyler Murray or whoever's
- 25:17Speaker 7: playing quarterback they have justin Jefferson, make sure he doesn't
- 25:21Speaker 7: go for two hundred on you. That's a game on
- 25:23Speaker 7: a Thursday night that you should win.
- 25:25Speaker 6: Yep, I'm very curious. That's another team. Who are the
- 25:28Speaker 6: Minnesota Vikings by a Week fourteen?
- 25:30Speaker 1: Right?
- 25:30Speaker 6: Yeah? Who's their quarterback?
- 25:31Speaker 1: Right?
- 25:32Speaker 6: What's distrection record wise? Are they going in? You know,
- 25:35Speaker 6: Quezi took the fall for the quarterback situation and he
- 25:39Speaker 6: got fired as their general manager, like cow hots Koc's seat,
- 25:43Speaker 6: Like I think he's a great coach, but they have
- 25:45Speaker 6: him won you know, so like and they really royally
- 25:49Speaker 6: screwed up the quarterback thing by.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know, letting and everybody, everybody watch. Everybody
- 25:54Speaker 2: deserves blame on now then, right.
- 25:56Speaker 6: I mean Koc is the quarterback guru. He could have said, hey,
- 25:59Speaker 6: you know, Daniel Jones can play.
- 26:02Speaker 2: So now you get the mini bye. After that, that
- 26:05Speaker 2: game's on the tenth.
- 26:06Speaker 3: You don't play again until eleven game eleven days later,
- 26:10Speaker 3: Monday night. So this is even not even Sunday, Monday night.
- 26:16Speaker 3: But you're going to Kansas City and you're playing the Chiefs.
- 26:19Speaker 3: And I think the same question that you have about
- 26:22Speaker 3: the Vikings is fair to ask what team will they
- 26:24Speaker 3: be in week fifteen? You know, will they have the resurgence,
- 26:29Speaker 3: will they be back to dominating the AFC West, or
- 26:33Speaker 3: will there be more problems with the Chiefs.
- 26:35Speaker 6: I have concerns about that team, about that their offense
- 26:39Speaker 6: in particular. Now they signed Kenneth Walker that they're trying
- 26:43Speaker 6: to build a running game, but they do they really
- 26:46Speaker 6: have enough around Mahomes even if he's one hundred percent.
- 26:49Speaker 7: It seemed to be lacking some pieces. But I will
- 26:51Speaker 7: say that will be a tough game. Oh I respect
- 26:54Speaker 7: mahomes and read a lot.
- 26:55Speaker 6: And that atmosphere is going to be electric if there rough.
- 26:58Speaker 2: If they're relevant, and I think they will irrelevant.
- 27:00Speaker 6: I'm looking forward to that one. That's one of my
- 27:01Speaker 6: favorite games on the schedule.
- 27:03Speaker 3: So then we're finally back to one o'clock next Sun.
- 27:05Speaker 3: The Sunday after that, December twenty seventh, So no Thanksgiving,
- 27:08Speaker 3: no Christmas.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Games, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Schedule makers go to New Jersey to play the New
- 27:15Speaker 3: York Jets, and that's a breather. Got gotta have that one.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Gotta have it when uh. And then the final two
- 27:24Speaker 3: games are tvds. Didn't in the past, like only the
- 27:28Speaker 3: last game of the season was a TVD.
- 27:30Speaker 7: In terms of the schedule, No, they do the last
- 27:32Speaker 7: two weeks now because.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I know they do.
- 27:34Speaker 7: They move a lot of them, well, like the last
- 27:37Speaker 7: couple of years, last couple of years, how long it's been, Yeah,
- 27:40Speaker 7: but I think that was the case last year too,
- 27:42Speaker 7: which moved on Saturdays and whatnot.
- 27:45Speaker 6: I don't understand it entirely because usually the college Football
- 27:49Speaker 6: Playoff is also being played around that time, and so
- 27:53Speaker 6: like you have end up having like both NFL and
- 27:57Speaker 6: college football playoff games on at the same time.
- 27:59Speaker 7: What I don't understanders, Why can't they just schedule the
- 28:02Speaker 7: games on Saturdays and then flex them out.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Yeah they flex everything else.
- 28:07Speaker 7: Yeah, like you can flex all these other games from
- 28:10Speaker 7: week five on?
- 28:11Speaker 2: Why treat these last I don't know games I don't know?
- 28:14Speaker 7: And so last week I get because I know they
- 28:16Speaker 7: will they want to line up those times. So anybody
- 28:19Speaker 7: that's got playoff implications is playing at the same time,
- 28:22Speaker 7: so that I understand the Week seventeen one I.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Don't get anyway, it's uh so Week seventeen is Denver
- 28:28Speaker 2: coming to should be a good game? Yep, that should
- 28:31Speaker 2: be a good game.
- 28:32Speaker 6: I would imagine that that's going to be an island
- 28:34Speaker 6: game of some sort, whether it's Saturday night or four
- 28:37Speaker 6: twenty five on Saturday or Sunday night or whatever. Like,
- 28:40Speaker 6: that's an AFC Championship game rematch with two teams that
- 28:44Speaker 6: should be buying for the AFC Championship.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Again, what's the date on that right?
- 28:48Speaker 7: Like you know the like the date of the well,
- 28:51Speaker 7: like I know, you don't know, it's the specific Yeah.
- 28:53Speaker 2: So the week before was the twenty seventh, so this
- 28:56Speaker 2: would be what the fourth first week, fourth, third, fourth,
- 29:00Speaker 2: something like that. Yeah.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Uh and then week eighteen it's the Dolphins here. So
- 29:05Speaker 3: you you finished at home the last two weeks.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Yep.
- 29:08Speaker 7: Nice like that, nice way to get ready for the
- 29:11Speaker 7: So there's your So what's your ceiling?
- 29:13Speaker 2: What's your floor?
- 29:16Speaker 6: So I don't think that the schedule is a lot
- 29:20Speaker 6: harder than it was last year, but that doesn't necessarily
- 29:23Speaker 6: mean that it's super hard. It's definitely it's a lot harder,
- 29:28Speaker 6: but I think that we went from Mike super easy
- 29:31Speaker 6: to probably mid normal normal. Yeah, it's but it's not
- 29:36Speaker 6: like some people are talking about it like it's an
- 29:38Speaker 6: it's a what.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Would make it harder? Uh?
- 29:42Speaker 6: I think some of the teams that we went through
- 29:45Speaker 6: have the coin could flip either way. Like I think
- 29:48Speaker 6: that you know, Detroit, Minnesota, Kansas City, Jacksonville. Like we
- 29:53Speaker 6: look at these games in May and we say, oh,
- 29:55Speaker 6: those could be hard games or they could not be.
- 29:57Speaker 7: Right right, like say this freadho I mean and you
- 30:00Speaker 7: might disagree, but who do you think is better?
- 30:02Speaker 2: Baltimore or Pittsburgh.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Baltimore?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Okay, so they avoid.
- 30:06Speaker 7: Baltimore with the first play schedule because the Baltimore kicker
- 30:10Speaker 7: missed the field.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Goal in the last play of the season. So that's
- 30:12Speaker 2: one game.
- 30:13Speaker 7: Who do you think is better, Houston or Jacksonville.
- 30:17Speaker 3: I think Jacksonville might have a better offense, but I
- 30:20Speaker 3: think Houston obviously has a much better meame.
- 30:22Speaker 7: Okay, so I would say Houston, but I not telling
- 30:25Speaker 7: you that I'm gonna pawn the table saying you're crazy.
- 30:28Speaker 7: I think Houston's a little bit better. That's another break
- 30:30Speaker 7: the first place schedule lined up. You didn't get Houston,
- 30:33Speaker 7: you got Jacksonville. Ok So those are two of those
- 30:36Speaker 7: swing games that I think could have been a little
- 30:38Speaker 7: bit more difficult, made the schedule a little bit harder.
- 30:41Speaker 6: I just think that there's still if you.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Came in second, then you wouldn't be playing a lot
- 30:45Speaker 2: of the teams that you are playing, you know what
- 30:47Speaker 2: I mean.
- 30:47Speaker 7: No, but those are the games that there's only three
- 30:49Speaker 7: games that matter what position you finished fall in.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Those are two of them, right.
- 30:54Speaker 7: I just think that I think you'd be playing a
- 30:56Speaker 7: harder game if you finished in second. Generally, what I'm
- 30:59Speaker 7: saying of it, you play Divisions and Buffalo plays the
- 31:02Speaker 7: same Divisions that you do.
- 31:04Speaker 6: I just think that you it just feels like you
- 31:09Speaker 6: have like five free wins on this schedule between the
- 31:13Speaker 6: Jets twice, the Dolphins twice, and the Raiders, Like those
- 31:16Speaker 6: should all be basically layups. And if you do that,
- 31:19Speaker 6: if you take care of business in those games, to
- 31:21Speaker 6: get the ten wins, you need to go five hundred
- 31:23Speaker 6: and the other eleven games on the schedule like that,
- 31:26Speaker 6: twelve games. That's that seems very doable.
- 31:28Speaker 2: So what's your floor and what's your say?
- 31:30Speaker 7: Yeah, Alex, you know had this was the question in
- 31:33Speaker 7: the newsletter, and my initial thing that I wrote down
- 31:37Speaker 7: was seven was my floor?
- 31:38Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 31:39Speaker 7: And I kind of couched it because I was a
- 31:41Speaker 7: little afraid of the blowback that I would mostly get
- 31:45Speaker 7: from you, Fred, And I said seven or eight? And
- 31:48Speaker 7: then I was stunned when you guys all said seven
- 31:50Speaker 7: or eight?
- 31:51Speaker 6: Yeah, my floor is eight.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:54Speaker 7: I was really surprised. I thought I was going to
- 31:56Speaker 7: be way on the low side. And then you guys
- 31:58Speaker 7: are all in the same neighborhood, or is it? I
- 32:00Speaker 7: would agree that that's that's the floor for me, seven
- 32:02Speaker 7: to eight wins.
- 32:03Speaker 2: What's your ceiling eleven or twelve? I would say eleven, Yeah,
- 32:07Speaker 2: my ceiling's twelve.
- 32:08Speaker 6: Yeah. I think eleven and six. They had a really
- 32:11Speaker 6: good year year.
- 32:12Speaker 7: That's a good that's a good year, bouncing back after
- 32:15Speaker 7: you know, playing a much more difficult schedule than you
- 32:17Speaker 7: did last year.
- 32:18Speaker 6: Yeah, some of the like metrics on the schedule, Like
- 32:20Speaker 6: they last year they played three teams with winning records
- 32:24Speaker 6: the whole year. This year they're projected obviously projected not
- 32:28Speaker 6: we don't know yet, but they're projected to play ten.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's a significant difference. Now.
- 32:33Speaker 7: I would also say the amount of miles that they'll travel, yes,
- 32:36Speaker 7: is twenty seven league plus one.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Game outside of the time zone.
- 32:41Speaker 6: We had a central time zone game last year.
- 32:43Speaker 2: New Orleans, New Orleans.
- 32:44Speaker 7: It was like the only game, Like now you're going
- 32:47Speaker 7: to Munich, You're going to the West Coast.
- 32:49Speaker 2: A couple of times.
- 32:50Speaker 6: Yep, at least they broke them up, you know, like
- 32:52Speaker 6: the bye weeks in between the two Munich and Chargers game,
- 32:56Speaker 6: the Seattle games. Now the opening week of.
- 32:58Speaker 2: The season so played.
- 32:59Speaker 7: Five prime time games for them are on the road,
- 33:01Speaker 7: which I think not just because with selfish media people,
- 33:06Speaker 7: but I think night primetime games are grind.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I especially road ones the international primetime too.
- 33:14Speaker 6: So that's right, so they really have. They have six
- 33:18Speaker 6: Islanders Stand Awards.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Island games, and five of them are on the road.
- 33:21Speaker 7: Yeah, and they also have that one's a neutral site. Well,
- 33:25Speaker 7: I could be in Detroit on Thanksgiving then that would
- 33:27Speaker 7: be a much.
- 33:28Speaker 2: More difficult, but it's on the road.
- 33:30Speaker 6: They also have a Wednesday night game and two Thursday
- 33:33Speaker 6: night games, so there's a little that's a little quirky
- 33:37Speaker 6: in terms of this.
- 33:37Speaker 7: The second Thursday night game, to me, is is a
- 33:40Speaker 7: definite quirk.
- 33:41Speaker 2: The Wednesday to start the season.
- 33:42Speaker 7: That doesn't that's actually good, that doesn't matter because it's
- 33:45Speaker 7: to start the Season's not a short week, right, Yeah,
- 33:49Speaker 7: but again, my second Thursday night game is a short
- 33:51Speaker 7: you know, that's an extra short week game, which makes
- 33:54Speaker 7: it I think challenging those kinds of quirks in the schedule.
- 33:57Speaker 7: I think eleven wins, twelve wins, that'd be a really
- 34:00Speaker 7: good year.
- 34:01Speaker 2: I was thinking about that Seattle game, and you know
- 34:03Speaker 2: what scares me most about that game their coach. I
- 34:07Speaker 2: think their head coach is sneaky. One of the best
- 34:09Speaker 2: coaches in the league.
- 34:10Speaker 6: I don't think it's sneaky, Yeah, but no one really
- 34:13Speaker 6: talks about.
- 34:13Speaker 2: It or quiet confidence about it. Thank you.
- 34:16Speaker 3: That's the exact words I was thinking. You took him
- 34:18Speaker 3: right out of my mouth.
- 34:19Speaker 2: He was gonna yell at me again for no. Those
- 34:23Speaker 2: are the exact words that I was thinking to myself
- 34:26Speaker 2: that describes him.
- 34:27Speaker 6: He was the runner for Coach of the Year, was
- 34:28Speaker 6: he not?
- 34:29Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 34:31Speaker 6: Yeah, so I mean yeah, I mean, especially on the
- 34:34Speaker 6: defensive side of the ball, he's he's the darling of
- 34:36Speaker 6: the league on that side in terms of X his nose,
- 34:38Speaker 6: like everybody's trying to delate them.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 34:43Speaker 7: Fred's been big on what is Drake May's progress and
- 34:46Speaker 7: going against that defense, you know, and you know, can
- 34:49Speaker 7: he show that he can handle some of those things?
- 34:52Speaker 7: And I look at it the way Fred just did
- 34:54Speaker 7: with with Mike McDonald saying, like, I'd be surprised if
- 34:57Speaker 7: Mike McDonald went into that Week one game and just
- 34:59Speaker 7: said we'll just we're going to confuse him the.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Way we did in the Super Bowl.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I think more of him than that.
- 35:04Speaker 7: I think he'll probably go up with some wrinkles that
- 35:07Speaker 7: you know, he hasn't really shown him before.
- 35:09Speaker 6: And they'll be a little bit of different personnel Like
- 35:11Speaker 6: Patriots come into that game with Dobbs and Aj Brown.
- 35:14Speaker 6: Like AJ Brown's a much different type of receiver than
- 35:16Speaker 6: Diggs is and like you you're gonna have to do
- 35:18Speaker 6: different things there. But uh, they're great team, he's a
- 35:22Speaker 6: great coach. And now they lost Koobi actor offensive coordinator.
- 35:26Speaker 7: So I think that the lost Kenneth Walker, who was
- 35:28Speaker 7: probably lost Kennedy in the game.
- 35:30Speaker 6: I think that the OC though you know it's the
- 35:33Speaker 6: Patriots have continuity. They have the same head coach, they
- 35:36Speaker 6: have the same play callers on both sides of the ball.
- 35:39Speaker 6: The Seahawks will have a different offensive coordinator. I'm sure
- 35:42Speaker 6: they're running the same system, but it's going to be
- 35:44Speaker 6: a different play caller. And we know how that goes,
- 35:47Speaker 6: like breaking that in and Darnold and the play caller
- 35:49Speaker 6: getting on the same page and all that kind of stuff.
- 35:52Speaker 6: You know, they drafted the Notre Dame kid to replace
- 35:55Speaker 6: Kenneth Walker, Like is that is he just as good?
- 35:58Speaker 6: Is he close? Is he not? You know? So it's
- 36:01Speaker 6: a it's a little bit of a transition for them,
- 36:04Speaker 6: as we know, with the brain drain and stuff like that.
- 36:06Speaker 6: So I think that's why it's better to play them
- 36:08Speaker 6: early because it might take them some time to transition away.
- 36:12Speaker 2: No, I totally agree. I think it's better to play
- 36:14Speaker 2: them early. Yep, all right, so there's your schedule. There's
- 36:18Speaker 2: your schedule. Reaction eight five five Pats five hundred is
- 36:23Speaker 2: the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com. Is the email address,
- 36:29Speaker 2: and we do have some emails coming in about it.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Jack In and Aba. He's up in Detroit, Lions territory,
- 36:38Speaker 2: staunch Patriots fan, but living in southeastern Michigan. I can't
- 36:42Speaker 2: help seeing lots of news about the Lions. The Lions
- 36:44Speaker 2: had a sneaky good offseason.
- 36:46Speaker 3: They addressed every one of their problems with good players,
- 36:49Speaker 3: albeit players who are not well known nationally. Beware, the
- 36:53Speaker 3: Giants will be a very competitive team this season. The
- 36:56Speaker 3: Patriots better tighten their chin straps for that game the Giants.
- 36:59Speaker 2: I think they're going to have a down.
- 37:01Speaker 6: You mean the Giants.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I was going to say they don't play the Giants.
- 37:04Speaker 2: I meant the Lions. The Lions. Now, the Lions are
- 37:07Speaker 2: a good team.
- 37:08Speaker 7: Like I agree with Ev that if they have another
- 37:10Speaker 7: bad year, Dan Campbell's gonna start hearing some some talk
- 37:14Speaker 7: about whether or not he is just a quick, fixed
- 37:17Speaker 7: raw ra guy, or is he a good coach. But
- 37:20Speaker 7: there's talent on that team, and they've been really banged
- 37:23Speaker 7: up the last two years. I wouldn't sleep on the Lions.
- 37:27Speaker 2: That's what that Detroit. That's a good win. Oh yeah,
- 37:32Speaker 2: that's that was a good team that you plan.
- 37:34Speaker 6: They hired Drew Petsing, who's a local guy. I think
- 37:37Speaker 6: he grew up in Wellesley, if I'm not mistake.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Is accurate, but Bay State league guy.
- 37:41Speaker 6: They hired him as their offensive coordinator because they their
- 37:45Speaker 6: planned last year blew up in their face and they
- 37:46Speaker 6: had to move off of it. So, you know, they
- 37:49Speaker 6: trying to replace Ben Johnson, and I maybe it's a
- 37:52Speaker 6: little bit of a victory laugh because I'm a big
- 37:54Speaker 6: Ben Johnson guy. But like, Ben Johnson might have been
- 37:57Speaker 6: the best coach in Detroit, right like that, He might
- 37:59Speaker 6: have been really the mastermind behind the whole thing. Dan
- 38:02Speaker 6: Campbell to me, still a little bit unproven by himself,
- 38:05Speaker 6: you know, and he had the all star coaching staff
- 38:07Speaker 6: around him.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Yep, they were great.
- 38:09Speaker 6: You know, now that Ben Johnson's gone and you know,
- 38:12Speaker 6: Aaron Glenn's gone, and that didn't look as good.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I agree, Justin Wrightson schedule looks like the ceiling could
- 38:18Speaker 2: be twelve and five and the floor could be nine
- 38:20Speaker 2: and eight. I think we're all saying that kind of
- 38:22Speaker 2: the same thing.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Lots of quality games and tough matchups, but this could
- 38:26Speaker 3: be another season over five hundred in another AFC East title.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Thoughts. Yeah, that's my goal win the AFC East.
- 38:32Speaker 7: That should that should be the goal. You won the
- 38:34Speaker 7: AFC East last year? Yeah?
- 38:36Speaker 2: Everything after that? Should that should be your first goal?
- 38:39Speaker 2: That's icing on the cake after that. I don't think
- 38:41Speaker 2: nine and eight will get that done though.
- 38:42Speaker 6: Now I'm reluctant to put the Bills in the category.
- 38:45Speaker 6: But they changed head coach, so like is you don't
- 38:49Speaker 6: know what Joe Brady in over his head.
- 38:51Speaker 2: You don't know what it's going to look like.
- 38:52Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I think Josh Allen is so good
- 38:54Speaker 6: that they're probably going to be a competent.
- 38:56Speaker 7: I think that too, but the league is littered with
- 38:59Speaker 7: quality coordinators that didn't make the transition as head coaches.
- 39:03Speaker 6: Yeah, and I still think that roster has has holes.
- 39:06Speaker 6: I mean, I guess if Dj Moore is has you know,
- 39:09Speaker 6: a little bit of a renaissance there, then they'll be better.
- 39:12Speaker 6: But I still got some issues.
- 39:15Speaker 2: They didn't do enough.
- 39:16Speaker 6: I just have a lot of respect for Josh Allen.
- 39:18Speaker 6: I think he'll be good no matter what.
- 39:20Speaker 3: All Right, Dustin writes in the off season is always
- 39:23Speaker 3: tough for me because it's just a reminder of how
- 39:25Speaker 3: far away the season actually is. And I don't have
- 39:27Speaker 3: any football questions right now, But I'm here to make
- 39:31Speaker 3: three way too early predictions that I think will happen.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Number one is Remandre will have another eleven hundred yard season.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Number two Gabe Acis will have double digit sacks his
- 39:43Speaker 3: rookie season Illinois Bias.
- 39:45Speaker 2: And number three Drake may Well, I think we read
- 39:47Speaker 2: this already. Yeah, this is very familiar to the email.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Listen to the show. If you're going to send an
- 39:53Speaker 2: email and.
- 39:54Speaker 6: Tell you that we already did you send it again,
- 39:56Speaker 6: same email, he send it again.
- 39:58Speaker 2: If you're going to send an email, at least listen
- 40:00Speaker 2: to us so that you know when we read it.
- 40:02Speaker 2: So you've been.
- 40:04Speaker 7: Scold a double digit sack guy in accush.
- 40:09Speaker 6: He was in college, but you know he used a
- 40:11Speaker 6: lot of a lot of that was power, and like,
- 40:13Speaker 6: you know, is that going to translate and is he
- 40:15Speaker 6: going to be able to bully the NFL.
- 40:17Speaker 7: Ackles That's kind of what my thought process was. Hard
- 40:19Speaker 7: to get double digit sacks. Doing it that way, you're
- 40:21Speaker 7: going to get really good player. I really liked that
- 40:23Speaker 7: player a lot, Yeah, but I just don't necessarily see
- 40:26Speaker 7: him as a dynamic.
- 40:30Speaker 6: Yeah, like more disruptive than like a sack guy. Like
- 40:33Speaker 6: I feel like he's going to push the pocket and
- 40:34Speaker 6: collapse the pocket and be felt on his side. But
- 40:37Speaker 6: I don't know if he's going to be like a
- 40:39Speaker 6: big time you know, double digit sack.
- 40:42Speaker 7: Well, certainly out of the gate now he could develop
- 40:44Speaker 7: into that, yeah, but out of the gate, I'm not
- 40:46Speaker 7: sure he's going to start. You know, he's probably going
- 40:48Speaker 7: to be behind Landry and Jones as a situational guy.
- 40:53Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 40:54Speaker 3: So we talked about the schedule now, the schedule videos.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Obviously we see what the Patriots did. We did the
- 41:00Speaker 3: roller coaster with Six Flags. Thank you Six Flags for
- 41:03Speaker 3: helping us out there. They literally opened up the park
- 41:06Speaker 3: for us and it was just the Patriots there filming this.
- 41:10Speaker 3: So that was really nice the Six Flags to do that,
- 41:12Speaker 3: and they had a lot of fun doing it, the
- 41:14Speaker 3: players did and the staff, so that was really fun
- 41:18Speaker 3: to do.
- 41:20Speaker 2: But what about the other teams. Who do you think
- 41:22Speaker 2: was your winner? I'm going to defer to him.
- 41:27Speaker 6: I just feel like, and this is just my opinion,
- 41:30Speaker 6: but I just feel like we're getting very repetitive yep
- 41:33Speaker 6: with these Yeah, okay, okay, I know everybody loves what
- 41:37Speaker 6: the Chargers do every single year. To me, it's the
- 41:39Speaker 6: same video every single year. Right, So here's an animation
- 41:43Speaker 6: of something. Here's a couple of shots that, you know,
- 41:46Speaker 6: topical pop culturary type of things. Obviously they took a
- 41:49Speaker 6: couple of shots at us and the head coach and whatever.
- 41:51Speaker 6: That's fine. I just think it's the same thing every
- 41:54Speaker 6: single year.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:55Speaker 6: You know, the Titans did the Man on the Street
- 41:57Speaker 6: thing again. There was some funny moments and some funny lines,
- 42:00Speaker 6: but it's the same video that they've done two years
- 42:02Speaker 6: in a row. Yeah, you know, so like just a
- 42:04Speaker 6: little bit more.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:07Speaker 6: I'm not saying that we are is the best or
- 42:08Speaker 6: anything like that, but like we tend to, we had
- 42:11Speaker 6: the retirement house, we had the goodwill hunting thing. Now
- 42:13Speaker 6: we had the roller coaster, like we tend to.
- 42:15Speaker 2: We had Portnoy last year. Do it a little bit
- 42:17Speaker 2: change up? Yeah?
- 42:18Speaker 3: Yeah, so we'll I I thought there were some really
- 42:22Speaker 3: good ones. I really did. The Jets one intrigued me.
- 42:27Speaker 6: I thought the Jets one was very aesthetically pleasing.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but I just had to watch. You had to watch.
- 42:33Speaker 6: I didn't watch the whole thing. I didn't get through
- 42:35Speaker 6: all seventeen of them, but the first like four or five,
- 42:37Speaker 6: I was like, people were clowning it, and I was like,
- 42:40Speaker 6: I don't know, this is like kind of like like
- 42:42Speaker 6: watching somebody Molan or like the Zamboni or whatever it's.
- 42:46Speaker 3: And did you notice did you catch in the knife
- 42:48Speaker 3: reflection of the scary mask in the knife reflection? No,
- 42:54Speaker 3: so every time you can see a reflection in the
- 42:57Speaker 3: knife and it's like like a ghost.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 43:01Speaker 6: I just thought the paint idea is like, oh, when
- 43:03Speaker 6: the brush came down on the paint, I was like
- 43:06Speaker 6: that just that's just nice.
- 43:08Speaker 2: And then I really like the step Brothers take off.
- 43:11Speaker 2: I thought that was well done.
- 43:13Speaker 3: They both bought into it. I think they, you know,
- 43:16Speaker 3: for football players, they acted it well. Yeah, so you know,
- 43:20Speaker 3: a lot of kudos for doing that, you know, really clever. Uh,
- 43:25Speaker 3: you know, to have a guy like Kirk Cousins, you
- 43:28Speaker 3: know who they hope will be backing up Mendoza. You
- 43:32Speaker 3: don't know what kind of situation it's going to be
- 43:34Speaker 3: and how Cousins is dealing the fact that they were
- 43:37Speaker 3: both or he was willing to do that and buy
- 43:39Speaker 3: into it. Hats off to them for that.
- 43:42Speaker 6: I agree, and I actually that was my first thought,
- 43:45Speaker 6: was like, this is kind of a way that you
- 43:47Speaker 6: can make it look like this relationship is gonna be okay,
- 43:51Speaker 6: this isn't gonna be contentious, This isn't gonna be Kirk
- 43:54Speaker 6: Cousins thinks it's his job and Mendoza thinks it's his job.
- 43:57Speaker 7: Big difference between his situation now and what took place
- 44:00Speaker 7: in Atlanta.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Yeah, the Atlanta.
- 44:03Speaker 6: There's a definite. You know we're gonna be We know
- 44:07Speaker 6: our roles, we know the situation that this is gonna
- 44:09Speaker 6: be good.
- 44:09Speaker 2: So this one quick prediction, it's week five raiders here.
- 44:13Speaker 7: Yeah, Mendoza or Mendoza by week five, starting week one,
- 44:18Speaker 7: So I'd be surprised if be starting week one starts
- 44:21Speaker 7: week one.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I just think they don't think he's ready. H No.
- 44:25Speaker 7: I think they have this thing in the back of
- 44:26Speaker 7: their heads, but like, you know, we don't want to
- 44:28Speaker 7: ruin him, like this the fear, the fear of it, Like,
- 44:31Speaker 7: let's start the veteran early in the year.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Maybe he can get.
- 44:36Speaker 7: Us, you know, off to a decent start and then
- 44:38Speaker 7: we can slow play. I think that's what a lot
- 44:41Speaker 7: of teams try to do now. Yeah, you know, like
- 44:43Speaker 7: kind of what the Patriots said to May.
- 44:45Speaker 6: I mean, I just think maybe I could see that happening.
- 44:47Speaker 6: I could see him.
- 44:48Speaker 2: They have every intention of playing Mendoza in year one.
- 44:51Speaker 6: I could see that being a drink May situation whereby
- 44:53Speaker 6: was a week five or six. Maybe that's why I
- 44:56Speaker 6: said week five, Yeah, all right, uh.
- 44:59Speaker 2: And then the other one one that were there were
- 45:01Speaker 2: a few that other ones that I really like. Kansas
- 45:03Speaker 2: City's was interesting where they had two actors and that
- 45:08Speaker 2: a man and a woman doing like old school type
- 45:11Speaker 2: of you know, newscaster playing off each other. But they
- 45:15Speaker 2: used to be married and now they hate the divorce
- 45:17Speaker 2: and they hate each other, so it's you know, barbs
- 45:21Speaker 2: mostly her at him, but barbs at each other throughout.
- 45:24Speaker 2: It got a little long and the joke got a
- 45:28Speaker 2: little stale by the end, but it was obviously well done.
- 45:31Speaker 2: These are these are professional actors that they had one
- 45:33Speaker 2: of them is the guy that the pregames, one of
- 45:37Speaker 2: the pregame shows used to do. They do use him
- 45:39Speaker 2: for to do bits.
- 45:40Speaker 6: Oh I know who you're talking about.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Yeah, so so it was well done, a little old. Uh,
- 45:47Speaker 2: the jokes kind of skewed to an older crowd.
- 45:49Speaker 1: I think.
- 45:49Speaker 3: I think the younger kids, you know, don't get the
- 45:53Speaker 3: the married and divorced jokes.
- 45:57Speaker 2: I think that's his name, ye, Rob, Yeah, yeah, I
- 45:59Speaker 2: think he's Chiefs fan. Yeah okay, yeah, okay, Yeah.
- 46:02Speaker 6: He's pretty funny.
- 46:04Speaker 7: I mean, he kinda does the same character a lot,
- 46:07Speaker 7: but he's he's good at it.
- 46:08Speaker 2: And I think the Bears. I give the Bears credit
- 46:10Speaker 2: for what they did. The Bears are another team that
- 46:12Speaker 2: they kind of do different things every year, like really
- 46:15Speaker 2: different things. One year they did the Cooking one Bear.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Round and this year they did a thing off of
- 46:25Speaker 3: Bob Ross, the painter who died, who you know, the
- 46:29Speaker 3: real low key guy, and one of their players they
- 46:31Speaker 3: had him dressed up like Bob Ross and he did
- 46:37Speaker 3: a really good job with with what he did. You know,
- 46:41Speaker 3: there wasn't a big payoff on it. It was you know,
- 46:45Speaker 3: you weren't laughing throughout. It was just they they they
- 46:47Speaker 3: bought into it, and they followed it through and and
- 46:51Speaker 3: it was well produced.
- 46:52Speaker 6: Let's say there's just the other than the repetitiveness of
- 46:56Speaker 6: some of them. Like if I see it on my
- 46:58Speaker 6: timeline and it says like six minutes, I'm out, like
- 47:01Speaker 6: they need to be faster, Like.
- 47:02Speaker 2: I'm not because you're a busy guy. I'm just not.
- 47:04Speaker 2: I don't I'm not that schedule.
- 47:07Speaker 6: I'm not that interesting, right, So like if it's like
- 47:09Speaker 6: a minute and thirty seconds a minute, like I'll sit
- 47:12Speaker 6: through it. But like I said about the Jets one,
- 47:14Speaker 6: I kind of liked the Jets one because I just
- 47:16Speaker 6: liked that kind of stuff like it. I find it
- 47:18Speaker 6: relaxing almost in a way. But I didn't watch the
- 47:21Speaker 6: whole thing because it was like after five or six
- 47:23Speaker 6: of them, I was like, all right, I get the idea,
- 47:24Speaker 6: you mix the pain, and it turns like it just
- 47:27Speaker 6: wasn't needed to watch all seventeen of them. Yeah, some
- 47:31Speaker 6: of these videos I saw there were five six minutes long.
- 47:33Speaker 6: I was like, what are we doing? Like this is
- 47:36Speaker 6: the social media thing? It's not it's not a motion picture.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Like imagine you know six minutes being too long. Now
- 47:42Speaker 2: it's way too long.
- 47:43Speaker 7: Well, it's too long for something like that, bad for
- 47:45Speaker 7: a schedule video, like if it's some sort like.
- 47:48Speaker 2: This isn't an Apple TV series. It's like, I'll take
- 47:50Speaker 2: a six minute what about good good will hunting that
- 47:53Speaker 2: we did? I don't want to see that for six
- 47:55Speaker 2: I don't think it was six minutes. I think it
- 47:57Speaker 2: was up there.
- 47:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't remember exactly else.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Gonna look up, he's gonna look. But I think I
- 48:03Speaker 2: think I think it was. It was good. If it's
- 48:05Speaker 2: really good, it doesn't feel like six minutes.
- 48:08Speaker 6: You know, I don't know it's this is made for
- 48:12Speaker 6: social media, Matt.
- 48:14Speaker 2: I can't hear you, Mike. We'll never know.
- 48:19Speaker 6: We'll never know. This isn't made for social media thing right,
- 48:23Speaker 6: Like it's not this is not meant to be. It's
- 48:25Speaker 6: not a movie. It's not forged in Foxborough.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Like minutes, it's too.
- 48:30Speaker 4: Long for seven.
- 48:35Speaker 2: All right? For four minutes? Four minutes? That okay, still
- 48:38Speaker 2: getting a little That was that's the high end, Okay,
- 48:41Speaker 2: for the high end, high end. Alright, me a minute
- 48:43Speaker 2: and a half schedule.
- 48:46Speaker 7: I so you're gonna make fun of me, Fred, but
- 48:48Speaker 7: I'm gonna let you make fun of me anyway. I
- 48:50Speaker 7: kind of like the Dog one that we did. Yeah,
- 48:53Speaker 7: that was as our secondary.
- 48:54Speaker 6: You liked the Dog one, Yeah, I'm shocked by that.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Yeah. I thought Mike did a nice job with it.
- 48:59Speaker 2: I thought they ran with it.
- 49:01Speaker 7: All the Stephanie and media relations I think was was
- 49:04Speaker 7: instrumental in the idea. Uh. And I thought it was
- 49:07Speaker 7: just kind of simple. Didn't again minute and a half,
- 49:11Speaker 7: like just real quick. It wasn't like the greatest thing
- 49:15Speaker 7: I've ever seen. I kind of liked the Bye Week
- 49:17Speaker 7: where they just show the dog like like that was
- 49:21Speaker 7: kind of funny. I like the Bob Socia and I
- 49:23Speaker 7: liked the Detroit Lione.
- 49:24Speaker 2: People thought that Bob Soci's voice was ai. It wasn't.
- 49:30Speaker 7: I can verify because I was standing there when he
- 49:32Speaker 7: walked in he was speaking of I think.
- 49:34Speaker 6: That's a compliment like your play play guy is supposed
- 49:37Speaker 6: to have.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Like I like the.
- 49:38Speaker 7: Lions thing where he just like Dan Campbell, just gets up,
- 49:41Speaker 7: goes over to the printer, takes the schedule, taxing us
- 49:44Speaker 7: to the bulletin board, like.
- 49:45Speaker 2: It's like we sucked last year, we have work to do.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Let's go. Yeah, you know what I mean Speaking of
- 49:50Speaker 2: AI though.
- 49:50Speaker 3: The Cardinals are getting a lot of blowback for their video.
- 49:54Speaker 3: It's all AI and like you know, pro football talk
- 49:58Speaker 3: and basically they're just aggregate eating what other people are saying.
- 50:01Speaker 3: But for some reason, people are really you know, not
- 50:05Speaker 3: liking the fact that they used AI to do.
- 50:07Speaker 6: People don't like AI. They are scared of it.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot to be scared of. Yeah, the
- 50:13Speaker 2: Houston correctly for that reason.
- 50:16Speaker 6: The so the Colts did the Simpsons and they must
- 50:19Speaker 6: have gotten they must have paid for that, right, like
- 50:21Speaker 6: that you need to pay for the rights for the Simpsons.
- 50:24Speaker 2: They must have done some something.
- 50:25Speaker 6: Yeah, I was. I just know that when it comes
- 50:28Speaker 6: to that kind of stuff that you need to Yeah.
- 50:31Speaker 2: I watched it and obviously they re used a lot
- 50:34Speaker 2: of the opening scenes from The Simpsons and then just
- 50:37Speaker 2: kind of changed it up a little bit. So it
- 50:40Speaker 2: wasn't completely original, But I give them an a for effort.
- 50:44Speaker 6: Maybe that's how you they kept the costs.
- 50:48Speaker 3: It wasn't a new animation, Yeah, exactly. Yeah, So what
- 50:52Speaker 3: did you like? Do you agree with us? Or was
- 50:55Speaker 3: there ones that we missed?
- 50:57Speaker 2: The calls here? Why where are the callers? I think
- 51:00Speaker 2: we got We're working.
- 51:01Speaker 4: I just called them to test they are working.
- 51:03Speaker 2: The Saints one was very good.
- 51:05Speaker 3: They did a weather report update and it was excellent.
- 51:09Speaker 3: It was really really good. If you haven't seen the
- 51:11Speaker 3: Saints one, go watch that. I I I laughed at
- 51:14Speaker 3: that one.
- 51:15Speaker 2: It was. It was very well done, very well done.
- 51:18Speaker 6: My favorite parts of ours were uh well, seeing my
- 51:21Speaker 6: coworkers in the back of all the shots was great,
- 51:24Speaker 6: like Matis. It was on one Alex and Deuce were
- 51:26Speaker 6: on roller coaster, uh and then the other one Marcus
- 51:30Speaker 6: jones reaction to being on the roller coaster was probably
- 51:33Speaker 6: the the best part. And then of course the drake cameo,
- 51:37Speaker 6: you can't. You don't want the quarterback on the roller coaster.
- 51:39Speaker 6: You know he's got he's got stuff to do.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Well, he was on the byeway. Do you see him
- 51:43Speaker 2: in the byewake? Yeah, he had he had all the
- 51:45Speaker 2: stuff toys like, yeah.
- 51:47Speaker 6: That we got him in there, all right.
- 51:49Speaker 2: So that's uh, okay, that's our recap of the schedule
- 51:52Speaker 2: and the schedule.
- 51:53Speaker 7: The Dog one I did because it was a minute seconds,
- 51:56Speaker 7: which shocks me because you're not a dog.
- 51:58Speaker 2: What is it that you're doing that you can't spend
- 51:59Speaker 2: the another three minutes. I just don't have any interest.
- 52:03Speaker 2: So that's just say you're not interested.
- 52:05Speaker 7: Well, I didn't see any of the all these other
- 52:06Speaker 7: ones that you're talking about.
- 52:07Speaker 2: It's not like Mike I had them all lined up
- 52:10Speaker 2: for you all. You had to go to Mike recently
- 52:12Speaker 2: you could go boom boom boom, boom boom and watch
- 52:14Speaker 2: them all. Didn't see a single one.
- 52:16Speaker 7: Why because I don't have any interest in it. The
- 52:19Speaker 7: got to explain that.
- 52:20Speaker 6: The sucking up though from the big the big j's
- 52:22Speaker 6: that like, you know, they're all retweeting it and sharing.
- 52:25Speaker 6: Oh here comes the chargers. What did they say? It's
- 52:29Speaker 6: like the whole thing.
- 52:30Speaker 7: The charges annoyed me, not because of what they did,
- 52:33Speaker 7: because again I didn't see it, but evidently people had
- 52:36Speaker 7: to write explanations of it. Well, yeah, sorry, you're not
- 52:39Speaker 7: doing it right. And you have it, don't used to
- 52:41Speaker 7: have someone decided to settle.
- 52:43Speaker 2: You have to watch it twenty times.
- 52:45Speaker 6: Well, they have these little subtle Yeah, it's a burn
- 52:48Speaker 6: book situation and they have these little subtle.
- 52:50Speaker 2: But people a good burn you should get it.
- 52:53Speaker 6: Well, but they're trying to be they're on a higher level.
- 52:57Speaker 2: Right, I think. I think your lack of interest in
- 53:00Speaker 2: these things is actually resentment to what's become of probabism,
- 53:05Speaker 2: and so in all the social media, it's more that's
- 53:07Speaker 2: deep stuff, lack of interest, not that you just you
- 53:12Speaker 2: just don't like what's going on in the world.
- 53:15Speaker 4: Did you not play Halo as a kid?
- 53:17Speaker 2: What evan?
- 53:19Speaker 4: Did you not play Halo?
- 53:20Speaker 6: Oh? Yeah, a bunch.
- 53:22Speaker 2: But does anyone play Halo anymore? No?
- 53:24Speaker 4: Yes, they do Destiny now? Oh what is it called Destiny?
- 53:29Speaker 2: Destiny? Oh yeah, I still Microsoft.
- 53:34Speaker 4: Sony owns it now bungeee Okay, I think Sony just
- 53:37Speaker 4: purchased them last year.
- 53:38Speaker 6: That was the problem that I had with Halo.
- 53:40Speaker 4: I love that video. The Halo video is really cool
- 53:42Speaker 4: to me. That's my era of stuff.
- 53:44Speaker 6: You know, It's it's cool, it's it's well done. It's
- 53:47Speaker 6: just they do the same thing every single time.
- 53:49Speaker 7: I'm not here to criticize any of these. I'd be
- 53:51Speaker 7: a fraud if I was criticized, even criticized I didn't see.
- 53:54Speaker 6: Yeah, No, I'm not even criticizing it. I'm just saying, like,
- 53:58Speaker 6: you know.
- 53:58Speaker 7: I'm not here criticizing it new One's video. I just
- 54:02Speaker 7: it's kind of deep read that you're going like this
- 54:03Speaker 7: whole like resentment for what the.
- 54:05Speaker 2: World doesn't come like does. I don't think it has
- 54:10Speaker 2: anything to do with it.
- 54:11Speaker 7: I just know the schedule already and I don't necessarily
- 54:13Speaker 7: need to watch these elaborate productions.
- 54:15Speaker 2: Watch them to find out the schedule. You watch it
- 54:17Speaker 2: and see if they're good or not.
- 54:19Speaker 7: And I guess I've watched enough of them to know
- 54:21Speaker 7: that they're not overly entertaining. So why am I going
- 54:23Speaker 7: to watch all of them to find out what? Like
- 54:25Speaker 7: the two of them that you guys are talking about,
- 54:27Speaker 7: you know what, I really liked the Jets like, so
- 54:30Speaker 7: I'll save the time and not watch the other thirty
- 54:32Speaker 7: that are kind of boring.
- 54:33Speaker 6: Well, opinion, I just wait for somebody to tell me
- 54:37Speaker 6: which ones the good ones are, and I watch like
- 54:39Speaker 6: the two or three ones that had a consensus. That's
- 54:42Speaker 6: probably a better way to do it, you probably, but
- 54:46Speaker 6: Fred goes through all of them because he has he
- 54:49Speaker 6: has to get that. That's you know, I don't have to,
- 54:51Speaker 6: Actually you kind of.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Like you do, you should be in the know.
- 54:55Speaker 3: I just think it's respect, you know, like you put
- 54:57Speaker 3: yours out you expect other teams to wor you know,
- 55:00Speaker 3: I just had a courtesy.
- 55:01Speaker 2: I want to see what the other teams are doing.
- 55:04Speaker 6: I think that they're you know, it's like if you
- 55:07Speaker 6: read or listen to you know, I read other people
- 55:09Speaker 6: that I respect their work, and I listen to podcasts,
- 55:12Speaker 6: and you know, you've got to be up on what
- 55:15Speaker 6: everyone else is doing.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it is part of the job.
- 55:18Speaker 6: Yeah, for sure.
- 55:19Speaker 7: Yea, like Greece, I read his Sunday Notes every week
- 55:23Speaker 7: every way respect and like what Mike Greese does.
- 55:26Speaker 6: Every Sunday morning in bed. I read Mike Greese's nuts.
- 55:29Speaker 2: But you speaking just go to Mike Grease got them
- 55:32Speaker 2: all lined up for you ball. You can just watch it.
- 55:33Speaker 6: You don't have to do that fall. This is the
- 55:35Speaker 6: one time that it might be topical.
- 55:40Speaker 7: Okay, back to the that I need to rearrange.
- 55:46Speaker 2: You just don't like them. I don't. I thought I
- 55:49Speaker 2: made that. You are, I don't.
- 55:52Speaker 7: You have a lot of I don't think the schedule
- 55:54Speaker 7: videos are worth the squeeze.
- 55:55Speaker 3: You have a lot of resentment in your heart for
- 55:57Speaker 3: what's going on here. Rodrigo writes in about the Patriots schedule.
- 56:04Speaker 3: Floor to me is ten games. Okay, I hope You're right,
- 56:08Speaker 3: they will make the playoffs. And what's Buffalo without McDermott, Right,
- 56:12Speaker 3: you'll lose a lot of the flavor there. Ceiling is
- 56:15Speaker 3: twelve to thirteen wins and winning the division top two
- 56:19Speaker 3: seed with current AFC landscape, Bill's new head coach, Raven's
- 56:23Speaker 3: new head coach. Although he's a good one, Chiefs have
- 56:25Speaker 3: major questions. Denver is bo going to be one hundred
- 56:28Speaker 3: percent after the injury. Texans may be a dark horse
- 56:31Speaker 3: due to the defense. Wonder how Stroud does with his
- 56:34Speaker 3: new haircut.
- 56:36Speaker 7: So Buffalo is going to take a hit without McDermott,
- 56:41Speaker 7: who Patriots fansers spent the last half dozen years completely destroying, Right,
- 56:47Speaker 7: This is what I mean about. Tell me if it's
- 56:49Speaker 7: a good win or not before the win, because you
- 56:52Speaker 7: guys moved the goalpost constantly.
- 56:53Speaker 3: Got Josh Allen Paul's a good win. I agree even
- 56:57Speaker 3: with McDermott, But.
- 56:58Speaker 7: We're talking about McDermott was a how you lost? He
- 57:01Speaker 7: was he was negative on the team because he's because
- 57:04Speaker 7: he sucked.
- 57:05Speaker 6: Value lost Again.
- 57:07Speaker 2: I never said I'm not you never said.
- 57:09Speaker 7: Patriots fans have consistently written into this show and called
- 57:13Speaker 7: him to the show to tell me how Bill Belichick
- 57:17Speaker 7: is going to destroy Sean McDermott. How many times do
- 57:21Speaker 7: we hear that until McDermott beat him forty seven to seventeen.
- 57:24Speaker 3: They certainly said that after that win game that that
- 57:27Speaker 3: was it for him.
- 57:28Speaker 7: Correct, Yeah, he sucked, he was overmatched. Now he's gone. Yeah,
- 57:34Speaker 7: Buffalo can't replace that. I mean they did have that
- 57:38Speaker 7: both ways, either either get.
- 57:41Speaker 2: A new coach bump or a new coach set. Well,
- 57:43Speaker 2: they hadn't and we'll find out.
- 57:44Speaker 6: I think they had a floor with McDermott that was
- 57:46Speaker 6: very high, like they weren't gonna we don't know.
- 57:48Speaker 7: What Joe Brady is. To Evan's point, I agree with
- 57:51Speaker 7: Evan on this that this is a big.
- 57:52Speaker 6: Swing for them, Like it's either gonna make it's gonna
- 57:55Speaker 6: elevate them and push them to that next level, or
- 57:58Speaker 6: they're going to backslide, like there's no between. Hey, McDermott,
- 58:01Speaker 6: you knew you were gonna be a perennial.
- 58:05Speaker 7: Playoff team, Josh Allen, they were.
- 58:08Speaker 2: Kind of a mess.
- 58:09Speaker 7: Yeah, and they still found a way to win whatever
- 58:11Speaker 7: it was twelve games.
- 58:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not McDermott, it's Josh Allen. Well, it is
- 58:15Speaker 3: be clear.
- 58:16Speaker 6: It's Josh Allen.
- 58:17Speaker 2: Now, if it was Brady instead of Belichick, it's Josh
- 58:19Speaker 2: Allen instead. At mcdermomy it's Joh I would totally agree
- 58:22Speaker 2: with it.
- 58:22Speaker 6: But it's Josh Allen now. Like in twenty twenty, twenty
- 58:25Speaker 6: twenty one, when Josh Allen was still ascending, they were
- 58:28Speaker 6: a playoff team.
- 58:29Speaker 7: Yeah, I would say before Josh Allen got the McDermott,
- 58:32Speaker 7: to Evan's point, was a playoff coach with Tyrod Taylor.
- 58:36Speaker 2: All right, so he's a good coach.
- 58:37Speaker 7: But if you're asking me, is it McDermott or Josh Allen,
- 58:41Speaker 7: I'll take Allen every day of the week.
- 58:42Speaker 3: All Right, We're gonna take a break. One person wants
- 58:45Speaker 3: to get a deuce update. I know it was a
- 58:47Speaker 3: colon oscarby, but I thought he'd be back by now.
- 58:50Speaker 3: It's got nothing to do, he's got some things he's
- 58:51Speaker 3: taken care of. But he'll be back with Thursday probably hope.
- 58:54Speaker 3: So yeah, so Douce will be back. All right, take
- 58:58Speaker 3: a break, gotta eat, be right back after this.

- 1:01:16Speaker 11: Obviously, I haven't been in this building, but being around
- 1:01:18Speaker 11: coaches that I'm very familiar with. It's been very fun
- 1:01:21Speaker 11: getting to know a lot of my new teammates. A
- 1:01:23Speaker 11: couple of teams I've played with a lot of new faces,
- 1:01:27Speaker 11: really talented teams. So I'm excited to obviously get to
- 1:01:30Speaker 11: the real OTAs and practices and things.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Like that so we can really start to jail together
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: as a team. It's a ben dame to know Craik Woodson.
- 1:01:37Speaker 11: I think he's a very talented player, you know, just
- 1:01:39Speaker 11: watching the film saying some things that he's he's did
- 1:01:41Speaker 11: like that he did last year, trying to build upon that.
- 1:01:45Speaker 11: You know, hopefully we can get us turnoffs this year.
- 1:01:47Speaker 11: But outside of that, man, he's he's a very smart
- 1:01:50Speaker 11: uh he's a mature guy too as well. I know
- 1:01:52Speaker 11: he's only in the second year. He seems very mature
- 1:01:55Speaker 11: how he goes about his business. So I'm excited to
- 1:01:57Speaker 11: be able to play with.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Him this year.
- 1:02:02Speaker 11: Zach Zach was one of the guys that was kind
- 1:02:04Speaker 11: of I think he started out as like an assistant
- 1:02:07Speaker 11: caller control something like that, and it's just very cool
- 1:02:09Speaker 11: to see him kind of move with the ranks to
- 1:02:11Speaker 11: be running the defense.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Same thing with Scott Booker.
- 1:02:13Speaker 11: He was an assistant when he first came to Tennessee
- 1:02:15Speaker 11: and he rolls up to be a secondary coach. So
- 1:02:18Speaker 11: it's very cool from seeing these guys in Tennessee now
- 1:02:20Speaker 11: here they're kind of running their own rooms, running their group. So, uh,
- 1:02:23Speaker 11: you know, it's just a testament to those guys put
- 1:02:26Speaker 11: into work and very trusting them to be able to
- 1:02:28Speaker 11: move up and kind of have their time to be
- 1:02:31Speaker 11: able to run their rooms and call the defense and
- 1:02:33Speaker 11: things like that.
- 1:02:34Speaker 7: What have your impressions been of Mike being back in
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: the building with him and being around.
- 1:02:37Speaker 11: Him, same old guy, honestly, same guy that I you
- 1:02:41Speaker 11: know that I recognized from being back in Tennessee. A
- 1:02:43Speaker 11: guy that's full of energy, coaching the entire team, running
- 1:02:46Speaker 11: back and forth from offense, defense, special teams.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: I don't I don't see a difference whatsoever.
- 1:02:53Speaker 12: Is his like hands on coaching kind of the same
- 1:02:56Speaker 12: as it was in Tessee. I they've grown since he
- 1:02:59Speaker 12: works with him, like college thought.
- 1:03:00Speaker 11: I mean, I wouldn't say that it's grown. I think
- 1:03:02Speaker 11: he's just very consistent with his coaching style. Even today
- 1:03:06Speaker 11: they're doing like some special teams punt drills, he's you know,
- 1:03:09Speaker 11: he's the loudest voice on the field, you know what
- 1:03:10Speaker 11: I mean, just coaching the guys, making sure guy's technique
- 1:03:13Speaker 11: is good, but at the same time still praising them
- 1:03:15Speaker 11: when they do very well. It's not like he's just
- 1:03:17Speaker 11: you know, MF and guys or nothing like that. And
- 1:03:19Speaker 11: then obviously as we get into our competition stuff at
- 1:03:21Speaker 11: the end, pushing sleds, he's out there friend center, yelling
- 1:03:24Speaker 11: and things like that. So no, it's definitely the same
- 1:03:26Speaker 11: guy that I recognized as Tennessee.
- 1:03:29Speaker 13: Kevin, what'd you make the decision to come to New
- 1:03:31Speaker 13: England originally? And having made that decision, tell me are
- 1:03:35Speaker 13: you are you glad to be here?
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: No, I'm very excited to be here. You know.
- 1:03:40Speaker 11: Obviously, when things didn't work out going back to Chicago,
- 1:03:43Speaker 11: you know, obviously New England was always going to be.
- 1:03:48Speaker 11: I was kind of like a dream scenario, you know
- 1:03:49Speaker 11: what I mean, because obviously, as you get a little
- 1:03:52Speaker 11: bit older in this league, you want to be able
- 1:03:53Speaker 11: to play for teams that are contenders, but also you
- 1:03:55Speaker 11: want to be in the bills with familiar faces. So
- 1:03:58Speaker 11: you know, Raves, you know, we had kind of had
- 1:03:59Speaker 11: a common station once Rage he started, and I was
- 1:04:02Speaker 11: very happy he was able to get a deal down.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: I was able to come back and play for him.
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: You were teammates with AJ Brown and Tennessee, and there's
- 1:04:09Speaker 6: a lot of buzz about him potentially.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: Getting traded here.
- 1:04:11Speaker 6: Is that something like the two of you talked about,
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: like how would you feel about the United.
- 1:04:16Speaker 11: No, Honestly, I try to stay out of that part
- 1:04:17Speaker 11: of the business because when you talk about, you know,
- 1:04:21Speaker 11: contracts or players moving teams and things like that, you
- 1:04:25Speaker 11: I want to be as hands off as possible. We
- 1:04:27Speaker 11: trained together in Tennessee, so it's not like I haven't Hey, AJ,
- 1:04:30Speaker 11: was you know what I mean? So, but no, we
- 1:04:32Speaker 11: honestly haven't talked about it directly, and I'm don't know
- 1:04:36Speaker 11: what's the situation there. I hope it can work out.
- 1:04:37Speaker 11: Hope he can come here and play for us, but
- 1:04:39Speaker 11: that remains to be seen. I'm just trying to get
- 1:04:41Speaker 11: to know the guys that we have here, from Rome
- 1:04:44Speaker 11: to Pop and all these other guys that we have here.
- 1:04:46Speaker 11: So but if we're able to get Aj obviously he's
- 1:04:48Speaker 11: incredible talent, somebody I play with. He's a true number
- 1:04:51Speaker 11: one receiver in his league, So that'll be awesome to
- 1:04:54Speaker 11: parable him again.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: What was it like to practice against him when you
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: were in Tennessee. He's unstoppable.
- 1:05:00Speaker 11: I mean this is obviously AJ is very talented still,
- 1:05:03Speaker 11: but then you know, this is young AJ. A lot
- 1:05:05Speaker 11: to prove couldn't be covered in one on ones. I remember,
- 1:05:10Speaker 11: I think his rookie year, you know, when AJ first
- 1:05:13Speaker 11: came out. I think he might have had like a
- 1:05:14Speaker 11: hammy or something like that, and he was getting himself
- 1:05:17Speaker 11: back into shape and things like that. But I remember
- 1:05:19Speaker 11: the first game that he really popped out was against
- 1:05:21Speaker 11: the Falcons and Atlanti scored two touchdowns and I recaught
- 1:05:25Speaker 11: like a slant and took it to the house.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: And at that point I was like, Yeah, he's going
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: to be a dog, He's going to be a really
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: good player. And he basically just took off.
- 1:05:32Speaker 14: How to number one receivers from your perspective, change the
- 1:05:35Speaker 14: way you play defense, Like what sort of impact of
- 1:05:38Speaker 14: the half?
- 1:05:39Speaker 11: I mean, I definitely dictates coverage, you know, and any
- 1:05:42Speaker 11: any time you're playing against team your game planning, a
- 1:05:45Speaker 11: number one receiver dictates coverage, you know, right if it's
- 1:05:48Speaker 11: you know, him being in Philly, Uh, when your game
- 1:05:50Speaker 11: planning against those guys, you still have to make sure
- 1:05:52Speaker 11: you have the safety over top of AJ, which obviously
- 1:05:55Speaker 11: opens up things for a lot of other players. So
- 1:05:57Speaker 11: just imagine the red of his Age or any guy
- 1:05:59Speaker 11: obviously just Chicago, justin Jefferson. You know you're not gonna
- 1:06:03Speaker 11: every coverage and every place starts with knowing where eighteen
- 1:06:06Speaker 11: is and then make sure you almost got somebody right
- 1:06:09Speaker 11: there in front of his face and somebody over the top.
- 1:06:11Speaker 11: So that obviously opens up things, and you may see
- 1:06:13Speaker 11: a guy's stats may not be as.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Great as this it was early in his career.
- 1:06:17Speaker 11: But you know, dictating that coverage is a big thing
- 1:06:20Speaker 11: with receiver ones because, like you said, if you have
- 1:06:22Speaker 11: a really good receiver two or receiver.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Three, now you can win a lot of one on one.
- 1:06:27Speaker 11: So having a guy like him or any other receiver
- 1:06:30Speaker 11: one in this league, dictating that coverage is big for
- 1:06:32Speaker 11: how an offense and the defense's game plans.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: You had a good rush for Mike Age, you had
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: a good relationship with Mike. What is it about him
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: that you know relates to players such as yourself.
- 1:06:42Speaker 11: Well, I think for one, especially if you're a young
- 1:06:44Speaker 11: player in this league and you coming to this organization.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: A guy like Mike Veribel, who's number one.
- 1:06:49Speaker 11: Who's played in his league for a long time, has
- 1:06:52Speaker 11: success Pro Bowls, all pros, won Super Bowls. So when
- 1:06:55Speaker 11: a guy gets in front of the room, he commands
- 1:06:57Speaker 11: the room and command attention. He's coaching this technique or
- 1:07:00Speaker 11: telling you effort and finished and all the things he
- 1:07:02Speaker 11: talks about. It's very easy to buy in because he's
- 1:07:05Speaker 11: done it at a high level.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:07:07Speaker 11: I think for any of us players, you want to
- 1:07:10Speaker 11: be coached by somebody that's going to connect with you
- 1:07:12Speaker 11: as well on a personal level, because I think that's what.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Coaching is about.
- 1:07:15Speaker 11: When you are trying to connect with people on that
- 1:07:19Speaker 11: personal level. People want to know that you actually care
- 1:07:21Speaker 11: about them. You want to get to know them. It's
- 1:07:23Speaker 11: not just hey, how you're doing. You see somebody in
- 1:07:25Speaker 11: the hallways like he's actually want to hey, how you doing,
- 1:07:26Speaker 11: how's your family? This and that and that, And I
- 1:07:29Speaker 11: think it makes it very easy if you don't want
- 1:07:30Speaker 11: to be able to play for a guy like that,
- 1:07:32Speaker 11: And I think that's one thing that might does well.
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: Kevin related to Mike's question about a number one wide
- 1:07:38Speaker 7: receiver Alla Kate Drake, a tight end who can come
- 1:07:41Speaker 7: in and move tight end like last from Chicago.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: What does that do? How does that impact team defensively?
- 1:07:47Speaker 11: It's huge because I think you know, the way you're
- 1:07:50Speaker 11: seeing the league now, you're starting to see a lot
- 1:07:53Speaker 11: more bigger tight end sets, twelve personnel, two tight ends
- 1:07:57Speaker 11: or three tight ends out there because it creates mismatches,
- 1:08:00Speaker 11: you know what I mean, Like there's not a lot
- 1:08:02Speaker 11: of linebackers that can cover tight ends. You know, in
- 1:08:04Speaker 11: some tight ends nowadays, it's hard for safety to cover them.
- 1:08:07Speaker 11: So you know, you have your traditional inline blocking tight
- 1:08:11Speaker 11: end they can catch a little bit. But then you're
- 1:08:13Speaker 11: starting to have these other tight ends coming to the
- 1:08:14Speaker 11: league that they're basically slot receivers, right if it's Coast
- 1:08:17Speaker 11: and Loveland. Last year, I think the Browns had a
- 1:08:19Speaker 11: really good tight end fan in last year who caught
- 1:08:22Speaker 11: a bunch of passes in college. I think that's the
- 1:08:24Speaker 11: biggest difference you're seeing that now. A lot of teams
- 1:08:26Speaker 11: want to have two really good tight ends. If you
- 1:08:29Speaker 11: can have both of them blocked, that'd be great, But
- 1:08:31Speaker 11: sometimes you have the blocker and then you have the
- 1:08:33Speaker 11: receiving one. So that just creates Mitch matches because now
- 1:08:38Speaker 11: you know, we all know this league is a one
- 1:08:39Speaker 11: on one league, you know what I mean. You got
- 1:08:40Speaker 11: a lot of good corners, a lot of good DB's,
- 1:08:42Speaker 11: a lot of good receivers. But when you add an
- 1:08:43Speaker 11: element of really good tight ends in the slot, now
- 1:08:47Speaker 11: you can put them anywhere, you know what I mean.
- 1:08:48Speaker 11: So it just creates Mitch matches. And I think that's
- 1:08:50Speaker 11: what these offensive coordinators are trying to do. Just find
- 1:08:52Speaker 11: a way to create Mitch matches and you know, get
- 1:08:55Speaker 11: favorable one on ones to their advantage.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: What do you see for May? Of course, I mean
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: he's a he's a obviously he's a talented player.
- 1:09:03Speaker 11: But I just think the work ethic that you see
- 1:09:05Speaker 11: him leading from the front, I think that's very impressive
- 1:09:09Speaker 11: for a young guy to do and have the confidence
- 1:09:10Speaker 11: to do that as well. I'm excited to, you know,
- 1:09:13Speaker 11: go along this journey with him as well. And obviously
- 1:09:17Speaker 11: you know he's obviously he's going through his third year,
- 1:09:19Speaker 11: but to see as he continued to progress as a
- 1:09:21Speaker 11: player in this league, I mean, he was already a
- 1:09:22Speaker 11: MVP runner up, so I expect him to just keep
- 1:09:25Speaker 11: growing and getting better.
- 1:09:26Speaker 12: We talk about tight ends. How important is that as
- 1:09:30Speaker 12: a safety room to have someone like Hunter Henry on
- 1:09:33Speaker 12: that other side of the ball, to say, Brian Julian Hill,
- 1:09:36Speaker 12: you know, how important is it to have guys like
- 1:09:38Speaker 12: that to go up against in process?
- 1:09:41Speaker 11: Now it's gonna be huge. Me and Hunter was actually
- 1:09:44Speaker 11: the same draft class. I think he was the second
- 1:09:45Speaker 11: I was third round, so it's number one. It's pretty
- 1:09:48Speaker 11: cool to see him still playing at a high level.
- 1:09:51Speaker 11: But yeah, I know it's important to be able to
- 1:09:52Speaker 11: get those rests with each other, but at the same time,
- 1:09:55Speaker 11: just picking each other's brains. Just try to see how
- 1:09:58Speaker 11: he sees the games from his side of you know,
- 1:10:00Speaker 11: his point of view, and the same thing for me.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: I try to give him tips whenever I can.
- 1:10:05Speaker 15: Uh.
- 1:10:05Speaker 11: But like I said, he's always been a really good,
- 1:10:06Speaker 11: talented tight end, a guy who has really grey hands.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Can work the middle of the field.
- 1:10:10Speaker 11: But I'm also excited to see the young rookie as well,
- 1:10:12Speaker 11: see how they use him as well. So, like I said,
- 1:10:15Speaker 11: every I think every teen wants to have as many
- 1:10:16Speaker 11: talented tight ends as possible.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: And now great moments in.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: History.
- 1:10:24Speaker 16: All right, So this is Jay in Minnesota, he's got
- 1:10:26Speaker 16: a would you rather a tough one? A Tuesday show
- 1:10:29Speaker 16: and hearing all the garbage would you rather questions?
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: I have one for you. Would you rather to give
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: up kissing for the rest of your life? Or give
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: up sauces? Kissing are saucy? Now that's good? What are
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: the merried guys in their vis kisses? There?
- 1:10:47Speaker 15: Bro, I love you, but I love love me some sauces,
- 1:10:52Speaker 15: the suit and sour, buffalo barbecue, honey mustard.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: You guys, are you can't? You can't up on kissing?
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Just yeah?
- 1:11:01Speaker 6: I played the fifth. There's no good answer for me
- 1:11:04Speaker 6: there because she she cooks it and partakes in both things.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: So it's like, which one.
- 1:11:09Speaker 6: Do I say her insult her cooking our hands?
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: The other? The fifth buffalo sauces good stuff.
- 1:11:16Speaker 17: That's another great moment from.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: All right Backhan on Patriots Unfiltered, eighty five five Pats
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: five hundred is the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Is the email address. I don't know, no one's calling.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Next person that calls gets a T shirt? How about that?
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: Eight five five Pats five hundred, you get a T shirt?
- 1:11:36Speaker 6: I don't like that that last question in the brain,
- 1:11:39Speaker 6: I don't. I don't care for those types of questions.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: Why is that? It's the weird question? Does it make
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: you uncomfortable? Okay, it is a weird question. It's supposed
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: to make you uncomfortable.
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: I don't want to be uncomfortable.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: I'll give up kissing as long as I have to
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: give up what comes afterwards. That made me uncomfortable, me uncomfortable,
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: and almost never keep the sauce in the sex. I
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: just don't have to kiss.
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: That's fine, we got it.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: Save that one renee between.
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: The lines of you know, football show.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Uh, Darius and Louisville. I
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: just want to say I would love another show like
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: last week where everybody was cussing. Were we swearing a lot?
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: I know I said the S word, it's slipped out.
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: I might have cursed once.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: It was one of those.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Totally needless S word uses. Paul, Oh, yeah, it was great.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: It was like a peek into your conversations off camera.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: I would love to be on a fly on the
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: wall when you're arguing off camera.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: It's it's a lot the same. You're not missing much.
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: Just more vulgar.
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: Maybe yeah, I have I have a potty mouth. That
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: is true, and I try not to have a potty
- 1:12:51Speaker 7: mouth on air.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: Yea Quig writes in about Forge and Foxborough. Love the
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: latest episode.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: The scouting interviews, draft segments were excellent. I would enjoy
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: seeing even more behind the scenes information. Would you consider
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: doing a mid season episode to recap the first half
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: of the season. Well, thanks for watching the stay tuned,
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: Stay tuned, stay tuned this season. Are there any remaining
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: free agents that you might want to take a peek at? Evan?
- 1:13:23Speaker 6: Some of those linebackers we talked about the last couple
- 1:13:25Speaker 6: of weeks. You know, does Matt Milano have anything left?
- 1:13:29Speaker 6: Does Bobby Wagner have anything left?
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: That was the one other than obiz Or you know,
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: they brought in Cleil Jacobs as a UDFA. They might
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: have missed the boat a little bit on that position
- 1:13:39Speaker 6: in the draft. I don't know if you're counting much
- 1:13:41Speaker 6: on a sixth round pick, but you know, that's that's
- 1:13:45Speaker 6: the one spot I would look at. I really enjoyed
- 1:13:47Speaker 6: this episode of Forge, and I'm not just saying that
- 1:13:49Speaker 6: because my voice was in it. Uh. This even time
- 1:13:54Speaker 6: of year is what things like Forged, I think personally
- 1:13:57Speaker 6: are made for like the in season stuff. We see
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: a lot of the end season stuff just watch the games,
- 1:14:03Speaker 6: like you know, like a lot of it's right there
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: this episode. The scouting, the scouting meetings, the draft room footage,
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: Like I could watch that type of stuff all day long.
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: But that that stuff's awesome.
- 1:14:16Speaker 7: You get a good peak, you know, Senior Bowl, combine, draft,
- 1:14:20Speaker 7: good stuff, good offseason recap, free agency. I thought some
- 1:14:24Speaker 7: of the footage we had of the free agents coming
- 1:14:26Speaker 7: and their interaction with Rabel with May a little bit
- 1:14:29Speaker 7: good stuff.
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: I thought the best parts are just you know them
- 1:14:33Speaker 6: in the scouting meetings just talking about players, Like I
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: could listen to the whole that for three hours, like
- 1:14:40Speaker 6: just you know, we're on tight ends. We're just here's
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: this player, Here's the next player, is the next player.
- 1:14:46Speaker 6: I just think that that stuff is great TV.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Robin Willemantic, Connecticut, enjoyed the new episode of Ford's the
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: best part of seeing some of the behind the scenes
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: conversations with the coaches scouts, even though you don't always
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: know who they're talking about, but it's still really interesting
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: hearing their analysis of the players. This might be a
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: stupid question, Fred, but I saw you listed as an
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: executive producer. What exactly does that mean in the context
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: of the show. In other words, what's your role in
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: getting the show to air for us to watch? Nothing
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: means nothing. Everybody else does the work. I just look
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: at it seriously. I mean, we have planning. You're headed
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: the project.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: No, No, I certainly did. You were the VP of
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: content like in a show. Absolutely, But there's a lot
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: of other people doing all the work. And Nick McCain,
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: you know, we talk about my show down and what's
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: going to be in it and things like that.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: There's a lot of people behind the scenes making that
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: clock tick. All right, so asking I shall receive the
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: phones are lit up.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: Now, I figured there had to be something going on people.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: It wasn't listeners are ready. It wasn't a technical issue.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: It's stacked, all right.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: The first caller who wins a T shirt? But let's
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: send everyone a T shirt, Matt. Everyone, these four callers,
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: the first you get a car. These first four we got.
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: If you're on old email your address.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Tim in New Hampshire, Mona in Pennsylvania, Mark in Venice, Florida,
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: and Johnny in Atlanta.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: Uh you four people? Uh email Matt or web radio
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: your address. But let's go to Tim in New Hampshire first.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: What's up Tim?
- 1:16:29Speaker 14: Hey, gentlemen, Hey, thank you for thank you for the
- 1:16:32Speaker 14: content keeping us thinking about Patriots all summer. I'm interested
- 1:16:40Speaker 14: about you know, you guys have been talking all morning
- 1:16:42Speaker 14: about the schedule and what what. What I'm curious about
- 1:16:50Speaker 14: is half when we when we go to Germany, we
- 1:16:54Speaker 14: were coming back and then we get to buy God,
- 1:16:58Speaker 14: I'm just some.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: What happens there?
- 1:17:01Speaker 9: What?
- 1:17:02Speaker 14: How do you guys, how do do the Patriots they
- 1:17:05Speaker 14: fly on their private jet fly out to Germany. Do
- 1:17:09Speaker 14: you guys actually get to go to Germany as well?
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: Yeah, so if everything works the way it did, usually
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: when you go to overseas, we've taken a bigger plane,
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: you know, like whether it's Virginaires or you know, Delta
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: or whatever. Yeah, we take a larger consa plane and
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: we go over there, and yes, we travel, you know,
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: we'll be over there. It's just like any other game.
- 1:17:33Speaker 15: Uh.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: And for this one, we might do a little extra
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: content because Germany is our home market in Europe, so
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: we'll be producing a lot of content while we're over there.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: But otherwise, it's just like any other game.
- 1:17:47Speaker 14: Oh fantastic. Yeah, that really was my only question today.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: Okay, keep up a good work, Thanks Tim, and enjoy
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: your T shirt. Thanks Tim.
- 1:17:54Speaker 6: Usually the those planes that that's the league, the league.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Puts the league, League pays a lot of it. Yeah.
- 1:18:01Speaker 6: Yeah, and the playing different planes Virgin Atlantic.
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: Yeah. So let's go next to We'll go to Florida
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: where Mark is? Mark, what's up?
- 1:18:11Speaker 9: Hello? How are you doing good? I really enjoy your show,
- 1:18:16Speaker 9: listen every week and it's great to have Pats on
- 1:18:21Speaker 9: content all summer long. My question, or actually my statement
- 1:18:26Speaker 9: was about the Fortune in Foxborough. Great great video. It's
- 1:18:31Speaker 9: it's what I call Patriots Born.
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: There you go. You know, it's an hour, so Paul's
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: not interested, it's too long. You watch it.
- 1:18:39Speaker 6: I listened.
- 1:18:41Speaker 9: I'm with heaven though. I love that that background about
- 1:18:45Speaker 9: the scouting and all the work that they do, and
- 1:18:47Speaker 9: that was that was a great insight.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good stuff. Well, thanks for watching.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: Mark, got more episodes, more episodes coming out, so thank
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: you for watching. Let's go now to will go down
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: to Atlanta where Johnny is?
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: Hey Johnny, Hey, guys, how you doing good?
- 1:19:05Speaker 18: I'm not here from uh PAULI welcome back to the state.
- 1:19:09Speaker 18: So Legg you ma it back stains and.
- 1:19:10Speaker 9: Sir sir, Yeah, welcome Freddie.
- 1:19:14Speaker 18: You may remember me as well. This is Johnny Evan.
- 1:19:16Speaker 18: I haven't talked to you before, but I love that
- 1:19:19Speaker 18: you are a new addition to the show. If they
- 1:19:20Speaker 18: could do a great job. I used to sending beats.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: To the show.
- 1:19:24Speaker 18: They used to play some of my music during the
- 1:19:27Speaker 18: intro of the post gaming show and the pregame show.
- 1:19:31Speaker 18: So nice to meet you.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: Watch Forge.
- 1:19:36Speaker 18: I watched Forged twice. I had to watch it a
- 1:19:40Speaker 18: second time just to make sure I did this anything.
- 1:19:44Speaker 18: I let all my all my Patriots fans know down
- 1:19:47Speaker 18: here in Georgia that that's on there and that they
- 1:19:51Speaker 18: should check it out. My take from it was I
- 1:19:54Speaker 18: really enjoyed Caleb low Move's reaction and Gabe Gacus's reaction
- 1:20:00Speaker 18: into getting that call. I showed my wife and I said,
- 1:20:04Speaker 18: this is why I love football, because they both got
- 1:20:06Speaker 18: so emotional. U Yakus's Mother's screaming, thank you Jesus, you
- 1:20:12Speaker 18: know what I mean. It was just awesome. And then
- 1:20:16Speaker 18: one more comment that I think it's overshadowed because you
- 1:20:20Speaker 18: guys are up there and I'm in Atlanta've been down
- 1:20:23Speaker 18: here over ten years.
- 1:20:24Speaker 16: Right.
- 1:20:25Speaker 9: What we need to.
- 1:20:26Speaker 18: Realize, folks, is people outside of the region. And I
- 1:20:31Speaker 18: say this to say because I heard Kevin Bayer speak
- 1:20:35Speaker 18: during The Ford Show. He said something to the fact
- 1:20:39Speaker 18: that you know Rabel's he knows Rabel He's gonna get
- 1:20:41Speaker 18: the guys all ganged up and say, hey, you know,
- 1:20:43Speaker 18: don't remember, don't worry about it about last year. This
- 1:20:47Speaker 18: is the new year.
- 1:20:48Speaker 9: Uh.
- 1:20:49Speaker 18: And he said some to the efect of yeah, you know,
- 1:20:51Speaker 18: we're going to get everyone's best shot. Boston sports teams
- 1:20:55Speaker 18: get everybody's best shots all the time. That's what makes
- 1:21:00Speaker 18: it so hurtful when we lose, but it's so passionate.
- 1:21:02Speaker 18: But being outside of the market, we hate it. I
- 1:21:05Speaker 18: went to the Red Sox game on Sunday, UH to
- 1:21:08Speaker 18: see the Braves. Took my sons for the first time.
- 1:21:11Speaker 18: Socks fans everywhere they can't stand us. So maybe that's
- 1:21:15Speaker 18: why we need to let these new players know where
- 1:21:18Speaker 18: they free agent signings, know that, no, we get everybody's
- 1:21:21Speaker 18: best all the time, because that's just what we are
- 1:21:24Speaker 18: with the city.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: Of Champel We're in a place where people care.
- 1:21:28Speaker 18: Yes, so that was just my thought, you know, like
- 1:21:30Speaker 18: they need to let these new players know that, look,
- 1:21:33Speaker 18: we get everybody's best shot all the time.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: So all right, thanks Johnny, appreciate it. How about Mona
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: in Pennsylvania? What's up, Mona?
- 1:21:44Speaker 19: Hi, this is the first time I've gotten through, so
- 1:21:46Speaker 19: exciting for me. I'm a bit nervous about calling in,
- 1:21:50Speaker 19: but mostly I was just calling because I just so
- 1:21:53Speaker 19: so loved last year's team, the way they came together,
- 1:21:57Speaker 19: young team, new coaches, and just like, oh they built
- 1:22:01Speaker 19: on that. I'm just super excited about this coming year.
- 1:22:05Speaker 19: And one thing I've been doing is kind of like
- 1:22:08Speaker 19: re listening to the old shows when this podcast when
- 1:22:12Speaker 19: you guys aren't on live, and kind of like revisiting
- 1:22:16Speaker 19: some of the old moment. The one thing I did
- 1:22:19Speaker 19: want to comment on was the draft shows from last year.
- 1:22:22Speaker 19: I think Evan was about to but when Harry met
- 1:22:25Speaker 19: Sally restaurant moment, when Travon Henderson and Kyle Williams got picked.
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I mean, yeah, were those guys that you targeted?
- 1:22:36Speaker 6: I yeah, I liked both of them. I remember with
- 1:22:39Speaker 6: Travon Henderson, I thought it was a little high for
- 1:22:42Speaker 6: them to take a running back, and when I was
- 1:22:44Speaker 6: making we were making our big boards, me and Duce
- 1:22:47Speaker 6: just said to each other like he's too good, Like
- 1:22:50Speaker 6: we got to keep him on because he's just too
- 1:22:51Speaker 6: good of a player. We like him too much. And
- 1:22:54Speaker 6: it was cool when they got him. And then Kyle Williams,
- 1:22:57Speaker 6: we were down at the Senior Bowl and that's when
- 1:22:59Speaker 6: he got my radar. I was at the Senior Bowl,
- 1:23:02Speaker 6: and I guess they he enforged. Actually they showed them
- 1:23:07Speaker 6: talking about him looking good down at the Senior Bowl too,
- 1:23:10Speaker 6: So just kind of like one of those. That was
- 1:23:12Speaker 6: cool that I was on the same page with them
- 1:23:14Speaker 6: on those because I don't think running back as early
- 1:23:17Speaker 6: as they took him was really expected with Rimandre and
- 1:23:20Speaker 6: Tonio Gibson still here. But he was just too talented,
- 1:23:24Speaker 6: I think to pass up.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: Well, I'm, you know, welcome a board. Yeah, thanks for
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: finally getting through.
- 1:23:31Speaker 19: Yeah, And one other thing I'll say about Patriots stans.
- 1:23:34Speaker 19: I agree with previous caller, and I live in Pennsylvania.
- 1:23:37Speaker 19: When surrounded by Eagles stands, and they are the worst.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: Yep, no doubt, Yep, They're a different breed for sure. Yeah.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: All right, thanks Mona appreciate that. Let's go to Jacob
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: in Nashville. We're getting a lot of first time callings.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: That's up, Jacob.
- 1:23:54Speaker 18: This is my second time calling. But I am down
- 1:23:58Speaker 18: with the stomach bug. Thanks to my toddler. I love
- 1:24:01Speaker 18: the show. You guys are helping me get through. I
- 1:24:04Speaker 18: had just a real off season thing.
- 1:24:07Speaker 17: So I watched two movies, The Phoenician Scheme and the
- 1:24:11Speaker 17: last New Star Wars movie, and they both have quick
- 1:24:14Speaker 17: stand in them.
- 1:24:16Speaker 14: What really deal?
- 1:24:17Speaker 18: What is Hollywood trying to tell us?
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: They're trying to tell us that they listen to pu
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: is what they're trying to tell us?
- 1:24:25Speaker 9: That was it?
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: Honestly?
- 1:24:26Speaker 18: All right, thanks for helping me get through this job.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: Okay, thanks Jacob. Is Grogu out yet? Mandalorian and Grogul
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: two more weeks?
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: Twenty second?
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: The twenty second Okay, I was wondering what he I
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: should have asked him what he meant by.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: The New Star Wars?
- 1:24:41Speaker 6: Yeah? That was vague.
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: Yeah, so I think he meant Rise of Skywalker.
- 1:24:46Speaker 6: Oh that was a while yo.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: Yeah the l yeah yeah yeah. Are you going to
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: see Mandalorian and Grogul? Yeah?
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: And I'm gonna take my son to. I'm very excited
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: about that. It's the first Star Wars movie we can
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: enjoy together in theaters.
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: See, yeah, that was great. Here's somebody who's emailed before
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: and written in shutters is in Manchester, A.
- 1:25:07Speaker 20: Hey, guys, how are you doing good? I don't know
- 1:25:09Speaker 20: any list. So it's the Batsmber went up and but
- 1:25:15Speaker 20: this is a strange offseason question for you. It feels
- 1:25:19Speaker 20: like with the number of international games now and multiple
- 1:25:25Speaker 20: games in those locations in the countries, it feels like
- 1:25:29Speaker 20: we're getting closer and closer to that seventeenth game. Every
- 1:25:33Speaker 20: team is going to play one of the international games.
- 1:25:35Speaker 20: Maybe we'll get there, but it feels like it's going
- 1:25:38Speaker 20: in that direction the question I've got. Then, it's also
- 1:25:43Speaker 20: anticipated that in the not too distant future will rise
- 1:25:46Speaker 20: up to eighteen games. So that would again if you
- 1:25:49Speaker 20: had one international game and then obviously an odd number
- 1:25:53Speaker 20: of either home or away games. Is there another alternative
- 1:25:59Speaker 20: for eighteenth game to try and balance up the sort
- 1:26:02Speaker 20: of impartiality and as aligning the side of the pond.
- 1:26:06Speaker 20: Maybe you can correct me if this is a crazy idea,
- 1:26:09Speaker 20: But what if it was touring sort of college schools
- 1:26:12Speaker 20: and using those grounds, those those stadiums for the eighteenth
- 1:26:17Speaker 20: game for an maybe in cities where there isn't NFL teams,
- 1:26:23Speaker 20: I'm trying to tap into those markets.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: You say college.
- 1:26:27Speaker 6: Yeah, like so like I'm playing at the big House
- 1:26:29Speaker 6: and things like that.
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's not a bad idea, you know,
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: the ticket sort of like taking it on the road
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: like NHL does.
- 1:26:37Speaker 6: With the stadium series.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:26:38Speaker 6: I think the concern that I said I would have
- 1:26:41Speaker 6: and I was reading something the other day about this,
- 1:26:44Speaker 6: So you used to be able to protect a certain
- 1:26:46Speaker 6: amount of home games, like actual home games. You know,
- 1:26:49Speaker 6: let's say the Patriots, I don't want to lose, you know,
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: the Bills game lose, the Broncos lose, you know, these
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: big marquee games. But they actually have dwindled that numbers
- 1:27:00Speaker 6: nificantly to like one or two protections per team, and
- 1:27:03Speaker 6: they want it to be zero. So I think the
- 1:27:05Speaker 6: biggest problem with all of this is like if you
- 1:27:07Speaker 6: start having international games stadium series games, you're losing like
- 1:27:11Speaker 6: these big marquee matchups that were supposed to be home games,
- 1:27:15Speaker 6: And how does that affect the ball.
- 1:27:18Speaker 7: For the home I agree, Yeah, there's there's just there
- 1:27:21Speaker 7: are not enough games. There's not enough inventory that it's
- 1:27:24Speaker 7: okay that you take home games away. And that's one
- 1:27:27Speaker 7: of the problems that I have with the International Games.
- 1:27:29Speaker 7: And I understand why they do it, yeah, you know,
- 1:27:32Speaker 7: and the league is probably doing the right thing to
- 1:27:34Speaker 7: grow the game internationally. I understand that, and I understand
- 1:27:38Speaker 7: it's about revenue and growing the game and all that stuff.
- 1:27:42Speaker 7: But there is a part of me that I don't
- 1:27:45Speaker 7: like the fact that teams lose games, teams lose home games,
- 1:27:49Speaker 7: you know.
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: To play internationally.
- 1:27:52Speaker 7: I don't love the fact that, you know, I don't know,
- 1:27:55Speaker 7: a half dozen times you get a nine to thirty
- 1:27:57Speaker 7: am game like the Patriots are going to play this year.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that.
- 1:28:04Speaker 7: There was a lot of talk about this last week
- 1:28:06Speaker 7: Freddy on my shows, just sort of the oversaturation. You know,
- 1:28:12Speaker 7: we're looking at like Thanksgiving in particular. This year, there's
- 1:28:16Speaker 7: gonna be games Wednesday, three on Thursday, a game on Friday,
- 1:28:22Speaker 7: and then whatever many games on on Sunday, Sunday night,
- 1:28:26Speaker 7: and then Monday. Like there's gonna be like ten windows
- 1:28:31Speaker 7: of games in that one week now for one off.
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: You know, if you're can tell me that that's a
- 1:28:36Speaker 7: one time just Thanksgiving. I suppose I could say, okay,
- 1:28:40Speaker 7: that that that makes some sense.
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: You know, what's you know where it's going.
- 1:28:44Speaker 7: You know, they're going to start playing games on Wednesdays regularly,
- 1:28:46Speaker 7: and on Fridays regularly, and and and it's just going
- 1:28:50Speaker 7: to continue to build and build and build. I just
- 1:28:53Speaker 7: wonder if the thing that I appreciate the most about
- 1:28:57Speaker 7: the NFL is the fact that.
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: You can watch the whole league.
- 1:29:01Speaker 7: You can really watch and get almost as much enjoyment.
- 1:29:04Speaker 7: I'm not saying as much, but almost as much enjoyment
- 1:29:07Speaker 7: of watching, you know, Detroit play Kansas City as you
- 1:29:11Speaker 7: do watching the Patriots play the Jets. You know, it's
- 1:29:14Speaker 7: not the same. Your team is your team. But you
- 1:29:18Speaker 7: don't do that in any other sport because there's so
- 1:29:20Speaker 7: many games. So you can have a stadium series in
- 1:29:22Speaker 7: the NHL because you have eighty two games and there's
- 1:29:26Speaker 7: forty one home games, So what if you lose a
- 1:29:28Speaker 7: home game? So what you know, there's still forty others.
- 1:29:32Speaker 7: You know, baseball obviously, that's the part that I'd be
- 1:29:35Speaker 7: afraid of if I were Roger Goodell. I understand what
- 1:29:39Speaker 7: the almighty dollar means, and I'm not here to tell
- 1:29:41Speaker 7: you shouldn't try to grow as much revenue as you can,
- 1:29:45Speaker 7: but i'd be careful that you're going to sort of
- 1:29:48Speaker 7: ruin what makes the NFL great.
- 1:29:50Speaker 6: I think the two things that you know are along
- 1:29:52Speaker 6: those same lines. You don't want to lose Sunday as
- 1:29:57Speaker 6: the day.
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: Sunday at one o'clock is becoming like the old person game.
- 1:30:02Speaker 6: And I think the issue with that is is that
- 1:30:06Speaker 6: a good chunk of your audience is still red zoning.
- 1:30:09Speaker 6: They're still fantasy football fans, they're still betting people. But
- 1:30:13Speaker 6: most importantly the red zone element and all that type
- 1:30:16Speaker 6: of stuff is probably the best thing that the league
- 1:30:18Speaker 6: has going for it is that it has that Sunday
- 1:30:21Speaker 6: where it's just from one o'clock to midnight you can
- 1:30:24Speaker 6: sit on your couch and watch football all day long.
- 1:30:27Speaker 6: And if you start moving all these games around, and
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: you start you're having games on Wednesdays, having games on
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: you know, Saturday, Sunday, Friday, Monday like that, you're gonna
- 1:30:36Speaker 6: lose that luster. Like you know, growing up before I started,
- 1:30:40Speaker 6: you know, working and covering all these games, watching the
- 1:30:44Speaker 6: Patriots at one o'clock with my with my dad was
- 1:30:47Speaker 6: like it was like going to church, like it was,
- 1:30:51Speaker 6: we were on the couch every single week. Now it's like,
- 1:30:54Speaker 6: you know, you gotta you have all these different games
- 1:30:57Speaker 6: and primetime games and this and that. Now selfish, I
- 1:31:00Speaker 6: like the primetime games because I get to watch more
- 1:31:03Speaker 6: football because on Sundays the Patriots are playing. Then we're
- 1:31:07Speaker 6: focused on the Patriots. But I think that they don't
- 1:31:09Speaker 6: want you don't want to lose the ritual aspect of
- 1:31:12Speaker 6: it of Sunday at one we're all sitting down and
- 1:31:15Speaker 6: we're watching the page.
- 1:31:16Speaker 7: Don't you feel like that that's kind of going away?
- 1:31:18Speaker 7: I mean, first of all, as pure attrician, it used
- 1:31:20Speaker 7: to be seven, eight, nine, one o'clock games on Sundays.
- 1:31:24Speaker 7: They're all going to different times. Now there aren't there
- 1:31:27Speaker 7: aren't as many, there's not as much inventory of one
- 1:31:29Speaker 7: o'clock games.
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: And now I think it's also.
- 1:31:33Speaker 7: The new partners, the new corporate partners that are you know,
- 1:31:36Speaker 7: the Amazons and Eat all the Beasts. They're paying so
- 1:31:39Speaker 7: much money, you know what. You know, you can't just
- 1:31:42Speaker 7: give me Jacksonville and Indy every Thursday night. You've got
- 1:31:46Speaker 7: to give me something. Yeah, So now they're getting better games.
- 1:31:50Speaker 7: And in turn, you're getting stuck with the NFC South
- 1:31:54Speaker 7: game of the week at one o'clock on a Sunday, right,
- 1:31:57Speaker 7: which used to be the lifeblood of the league. I mean, listen,
- 1:32:00Speaker 7: I know I'm an old dinosaur, and no, I think
- 1:32:03Speaker 7: not going to be the way it was like, but
- 1:32:06Speaker 7: I just feel like the league is in danger of
- 1:32:09Speaker 7: losing what I think makes it really special.
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: I can watch the whole league at once.
- 1:32:13Speaker 6: You watch like, you know, you look at Scott Hansen
- 1:32:15Speaker 6: put up like what the splits are for Sundays now,
- 1:32:18Speaker 6: and it's just like that schedule is just getting smaller
- 1:32:20Speaker 6: and smaller. And if you lose that, then that's that,
- 1:32:24Speaker 6: to me, is at its core as the NFL is
- 1:32:26Speaker 6: that Sunday one o'clock four teen can watch.
- 1:32:30Speaker 7: From I can watch from one to eight, even if
- 1:32:32Speaker 7: I don't watch the Sunday night game.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: If I watch from one.
- 1:32:35Speaker 7: To eight, I've seen over two thirds of the league
- 1:32:38Speaker 7: that week.
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: Now it's not even closer. I also just I don't
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: love and you know, when.
- 1:32:43Speaker 6: It falls on a Thursday, it falls on a Saturday,
- 1:32:47Speaker 6: falls on a Sunday. Okay, I can live with it,
- 1:32:49Speaker 6: but like, did you really need to take over Christmas,
- 1:32:52Speaker 6: Like did you really need to target Christmas?
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: Think that was the point of no return for me.
- 1:32:55Speaker 7: It was the night game on Thanksgiving coupled with the
- 1:32:58Speaker 7: Christmas games really.
- 1:33:00Speaker 6: Kind of I'm a basketball like Christmas to me is
- 1:33:03Speaker 6: the NBA's day. Like they usually have five marquee games
- 1:33:07Speaker 6: on Christmas. This alltics play a lot on Christmas, Like
- 1:33:10Speaker 6: that's supposed to be. Like it's okay to let them
- 1:33:14Speaker 6: just like to have to not have to take over
- 1:33:17Speaker 6: that holiday, like this Wednesday night thing before Thanksgiving, Like
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: we're all sick. Oh, so we're all probably gonna watch
- 1:33:24Speaker 6: it and then we're the problem, right Like but like really,
- 1:33:27Speaker 6: like is that necessary?
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: That's not you guys are the problem.
- 1:33:30Speaker 7: Yeah, will watch everyone Christmas Day. I'm gonna be on,
- 1:33:35Speaker 7: but it'll be white noise in the background, Like no
- 1:33:37Speaker 7: one's going to actually be watching the game. It'll be on,
- 1:33:40Speaker 7: but people are just going to be going about they
- 1:33:42Speaker 7: where its.
- 1:33:43Speaker 6: Like I usually missed the Dallas game on Thanksgiving. I
- 1:33:45Speaker 6: usually watch the Lions game. I watched the night game
- 1:33:49Speaker 6: because we're a home at that point and whatever, But
- 1:33:52Speaker 6: usually the Dallas night game.
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: Has to be a matchup that I'm really interested in.
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: Yeah, I just watch any of that.
- 1:33:57Speaker 7: Yeah, that's the same with the Thursday nights. Like if
- 1:34:00Speaker 7: you give me the like the Rams and Seahawks on
- 1:34:02Speaker 7: the Thursday night, I might watch that game.
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: I watched games.
- 1:34:06Speaker 6: I think it's different though, I am.
- 1:34:07Speaker 7: Watching the Falcons and the and the Panthers on Thursday night.
- 1:34:10Speaker 6: I watch every single Thursday night game, but that's because
- 1:34:12Speaker 6: we're working on Sunday most of the time. So, like,
- 1:34:15Speaker 6: the only times that I have to watch other games
- 1:34:18Speaker 6: are when are the prime time standalone games the Patriots
- 1:34:21Speaker 6: aren't playing in.
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: Do you watch them all?
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I do, not all, not all of them when
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: I watch, but I what I turn on every one
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: of them. Yeah.
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: Where I thought Shutters was going with the international games
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: was that maybe division.
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: How long will it be before we have a Super
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: Bowl overseas?
- 1:34:38Speaker 7: There's been talk of that and talk of it, you know,
- 1:34:41Speaker 7: a European division of teams, which I don't thought the.
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: Patriots having an overseas game in the Roman Coliseum, that
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: would be great. How about that? Kind of tough to
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: play a games?
- 1:34:51Speaker 6: Ready, it's not function.
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: I know the seats aren't comfortable, but that's okay.
- 1:34:56Speaker 6: I mean it's not you know, you can't refurbish it,
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: and then yeah, you don't have to.
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: We just dump a little money into it. We got
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: the coliseum and ready to go.
- 1:35:07Speaker 6: I have to I think that one of the coolest
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: parts about this game is that we're playing where Byron plays,
- 1:35:12Speaker 6: and like all these European soccer teams I was thinking,
- 1:35:15Speaker 6: have these legendary stadiums like and not and like also
- 1:35:18Speaker 6: just hav insane technology within the stadiums, Like these stadiums,
- 1:35:22Speaker 6: like real Madrid Stadium makes us our stadiums look like,
- 1:35:25Speaker 6: you know, high school Like it's like Real Madrid has
- 1:35:28Speaker 6: like this like state of the art playing surface and
- 1:35:31Speaker 6: retractable roof and all this like crazy stuff. I imagine
- 1:35:34Speaker 6: Byron is is pretty cool.
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: No, no, it's good. It's it's a great stadium. You've
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: been there, But there's better stadiums in the United States.
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:35:43Speaker 6: Really, oh yeah, that surprised me because of how much
- 1:35:45Speaker 6: money this team just make.
- 1:35:49Speaker 2: The world so very traveled.
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: I know, uh yeah, so good stuff, good stuff. Thanks cheddar.
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: Let's go to New York and we'll talk to Arthur.
- 1:35:59Speaker 21: What's up our there, how's it going I'm just looking
- 1:36:03Speaker 21: at our depth chart right now, and I've noticed that
- 1:36:06Speaker 21: a lot of our edge rushers kind of have similar
- 1:36:08Speaker 21: characteristics and that they're not particularly speed rushers. They kind
- 1:36:12Speaker 21: of have you know, a mixed whether that's Harold Landry,
- 1:36:15Speaker 21: you know, Draymond Jones obviously started as an interior guy
- 1:36:19Speaker 21: and then moved to the edge atus who we just
- 1:36:21Speaker 21: drafted as well. I was wondering because, you know, looking
- 1:36:24Speaker 21: at some of the other teams that have these great
- 1:36:26Speaker 21: edge combos, like the Steelers they have like the power
- 1:36:29Speaker 21: guy and TJ. Watt and then the speed guy in
- 1:36:31Speaker 21: Alice Highsmith, or the Cowboys they have like a you know,
- 1:36:34Speaker 21: had a power guy in DeMarcus Lawrence and then a
- 1:36:37Speaker 21: speed guy in Micah Parsons. I'm wondering, if you think
- 1:36:39Speaker 21: some of our edge rushers are kind of, you know,
- 1:36:42Speaker 21: not that complimentary. Should we have kept a guy like
- 1:36:44Speaker 21: Chase On who has that ability, you know, to to
- 1:36:47Speaker 21: really rush with speed on third downs or is that
- 1:36:50Speaker 21: just not what they're looking for and they're afraid of
- 1:36:51Speaker 21: getting abused in the run game or what your thoughts
- 1:36:54Speaker 21: are there?
- 1:36:55Speaker 6: I would do I think Carol Landers, the speed rusher
- 1:36:57Speaker 6: I don't know if Harold Landers at this age is
- 1:37:00Speaker 6: a speed rusher, but Arab Landry is not a power rusher.
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: I would say he's the closest to that.
- 1:37:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:37:07Speaker 7: Yeah, he's more of a speed guy. But I think
- 1:37:09Speaker 7: his point, his larger point, I think is accurate. I
- 1:37:12Speaker 7: do think that they have similar kinds of pass rushers. Now,
- 1:37:16Speaker 7: there was a thing today I saw Pro football talk, Uh,
- 1:37:20Speaker 7: Genarious Robinson.
- 1:37:21Speaker 6: Yeah, and kind of built like Chase On a little
- 1:37:24Speaker 6: bit more sort of more in that kind of a mold.
- 1:37:26Speaker 7: Now, he's not really an established NFL player, he's a
- 1:37:29Speaker 7: former fourth round pick. I think it's been injured a
- 1:37:32Speaker 7: lot a special team but he I mean he's got
- 1:37:35Speaker 7: one the guy that.
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: Brought in for the tryout.
- 1:37:37Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, yeah, Well he's a he's a pass rusher
- 1:37:41Speaker 7: by trade, by trade, like that's what he is.
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: He's a defensive end and he's a rusher.
- 1:37:45Speaker 7: Now, he's been hurt a lot, so he doesn't think
- 1:37:47Speaker 7: he only has like two sacks career, But they brought
- 1:37:51Speaker 7: him in to give him a look to see. So
- 1:37:53Speaker 7: maybe they think, like the caller, they might need a
- 1:37:57Speaker 7: little bit more sort of juice off the edge in
- 1:38:00Speaker 7: terms of the death chart. Now, I don't know if
- 1:38:02Speaker 7: this guy would provide that. I'm just saying, well, they
- 1:38:04Speaker 7: talked about.
- 1:38:05Speaker 6: It, you're looking for They talked about it before the draft,
- 1:38:08Speaker 6: and I I you know, Elliot Wolf said that they
- 1:38:10Speaker 6: would like to get some speed to compliment their their room. Uh,
- 1:38:14Speaker 6: you know, they look at Draymond Jones like the caller
- 1:38:16Speaker 6: is more of a power guy, more more of a
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: bull rusher, rugged player. But I think they just fell
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: in love with Akis just the character, the player, the guy,
- 1:38:25Speaker 6: you know, and.
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: I fall in love with that.
- 1:38:28Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I just think his story is is you know,
- 1:38:31Speaker 6: they he's just a patriot, you know, a very able
- 1:38:33Speaker 6: enforce in Foxborough said he's scouting report just reads like
- 1:38:36Speaker 6: a patriot. And I think that that trump, you know,
- 1:38:39Speaker 6: getting a lighter, kind of faster guy. But to me,
- 1:38:42Speaker 6: if he's healthy and he's the guy that he was
- 1:38:45Speaker 6: before his knee, you know, took a downward turn last year,
- 1:38:48Speaker 6: that that is Landry.
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: He's more of a speed guy.
- 1:38:51Speaker 6: And I would say Elijah Ponders got a little bit
- 1:38:53Speaker 6: of juice too. So those two guys I think bring
- 1:38:56Speaker 6: a little bit. But to his point, there's no.
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: It's hard to get like the guy that everyone's thinking about,
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: like Michael Parsons.
- 1:39:03Speaker 6: Yeah, that one's tough.
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Chris with a T I A n is calling,
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: And what's up, Christian? That's not Christmas Christian in l A.
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: Oh sorry Christian, I an, I'm so sorry.
- 1:39:17Speaker 18: You don't want to associate him with me?
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: No way, he would agree, Yeah, even though even though
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:39:23Speaker 18: Like him, even though he talks to smack some time.
- 1:39:25Speaker 18: And hello, Paul, how are you anyway?
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: Guys? I'm all right, how are you?
- 1:39:32Speaker 17: I'm doing okay today, Paul? So I looked at the schedule, right,
- 1:39:38Speaker 17: and it feels so good, guys, to not see a
- 1:39:42Speaker 17: team that we can't beat, and to not see a
- 1:39:45Speaker 17: game that we shouldn't win or it used to be, well,
- 1:39:48Speaker 17: you know, we should probably lose that one. That's no
- 1:39:51Speaker 17: more with us, and it feels really good as a
- 1:39:53Speaker 17: Patriot fan to be back there again. So with that still,
- 1:39:56Speaker 17: I have a would you rather?
- 1:39:58Speaker 13: Okay, The wider brother is this, would would.
- 1:40:01Speaker 17: You rather win five championships in a row but nothing
- 1:40:05Speaker 17: for the for the next twenty years, or win one
- 1:40:09Speaker 17: championship every five years for the next twenty years.
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: I'll take it up the air.
- 1:40:12Speaker 6: Okay, okay, not a bad one one every five years.
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: When every five years for the next twenty years.
- 1:40:18Speaker 6: Yeah, because then you're sustained successful, Like you're not going
- 1:40:21Speaker 6: to just win one every five years and then drop
- 1:40:23Speaker 6: off a cliff in between.
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: So it's the same amount of championships either way.
- 1:40:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: I don't know what if you win five in a
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: row like Immortal for Yeah, but that one year went
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: five in a row, and then the next twenty years
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: you're in the AFC Championship every year.
- 1:40:36Speaker 6: Okay, well that's different.
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: Well, or you just don't win out a super Bowl.
- 1:40:39Speaker 6: That could happen, But like five in a row to
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: me is like that you you know, that was dynasty
- 1:40:46Speaker 6: that you had, and then most the dynasty you had,
- 1:40:49Speaker 6: but most likely then they crash it. It's no one's
- 1:40:51Speaker 6: ever done it, and no one's ever come close to that.
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: I understand. It makes you more. It's like the undefeated season.
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: I like to I want to sustain and by the way,
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: in that five maybe one of the seasons are undefeated.
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: You're adding things.
- 1:41:06Speaker 6: I think one of the like best arguments for mister
- 1:41:11Speaker 6: Kraft to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame
- 1:41:13Speaker 6: is that they've had six same success through multiple coaches,
- 1:41:17Speaker 6: multiple quarterbacks now throughout his entire ownership. Like to me
- 1:41:20Speaker 6: that that's the hallmark of a great franchise is when
- 1:41:23Speaker 6: you were in it every single year, and if you're
- 1:41:25Speaker 6: winning one every five years over a twenty year period,
- 1:41:28Speaker 6: that means for that twenty year period you were a
- 1:41:31Speaker 6: contender of the whole time.
- 1:41:32Speaker 7: I'm yeah, I'm not turning down either one, but one
- 1:41:36Speaker 7: of them kind of happens. The other one has never
- 1:41:39Speaker 7: even come close to happening. Yeah, I think I would
- 1:41:41Speaker 7: take the immortality of five in a row, but you
- 1:41:45Speaker 7: know you're telling me I can't have that. I gotta
- 1:41:46Speaker 7: I gotta settle for five and twenty five.
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: I'll take that. Christian in La not a bad one.
- 1:41:51Speaker 6: Not a bad one.
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: Although we're kind of curious why the whole pall because
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: of the way you last week, because you wade him down.
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: He was mad because I didn't agree with him last week.
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: Okay, let's see Dan and Virginia and Michigan. Right, said
- 1:42:03Speaker 3: a couple of weeks ago, it was the meeting of
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: life in UFOs. Today it's Fred and Paul arguing about
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: why Paul doesn't watch the schedule videos. These are the
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: latest indications that this is one of your best off seasons.
- 1:42:14Speaker 3: Yet you readily hit your stride, and I don't think
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: there was any dip in the quality after the football
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: season ended.
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: Bravo, he says Fred. With the Bills having a sort
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: of new head coach, has Buffalo's window opened up a little?
- 1:42:29Speaker 6: I don't know it could have.
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: Maybe, you know, you get that bump, You get that
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: bump a little bit. If he's good. If he's good, yeah,
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: that's what said. Maybe if he's a clown, yeah, your
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: window is shut and locked. All I know is that
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: they wouldn't have done it unless Josh Allen bought it,
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: because I think Josh Allen runs that team well.
- 1:42:47Speaker 6: I think that's why they hired it internally or promoted internally,
- 1:42:51Speaker 6: because he likes Joe Brady and right rather than bring
- 1:42:54Speaker 6: in But I'll.
- 1:42:55Speaker 2: Say that, I mean Josh. By the way, I like
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: the Bill's schedule these video too.
- 1:42:59Speaker 7: He could be the biggest fraud ever, Josh Allen.
- 1:43:02Speaker 6: I have no idea you mean Joe Brady. No, Josh,
- 1:43:04Speaker 6: you think Josh Allen's a fraud? No, No, I'm just
- 1:43:06Speaker 6: saying he.
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: Could be a fraud.
- 1:43:08Speaker 7: I don't think he wanted McDermott fired. I don't think
- 1:43:10Speaker 7: you show that kind of emotion when the guy loses
- 1:43:12Speaker 7: his job, and there was something that in the behind channels,
- 1:43:16Speaker 7: back channels you were lobbying.
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: Maybe he was crying because he lost his excuse for
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: losing everything. Now, he absolutely wanted Joe Brady to get
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: the job. That I agree wholeheartedly.
- 1:43:28Speaker 7: He was if not him, then him, he was yeah, okay,
- 1:43:31Speaker 7: But I don't think he wanted McDermott to get fired.
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: Maybe he did, It.
- 1:43:34Speaker 6: Doesn't seem like that kind of guy. He doesn't seem
- 1:43:36Speaker 6: like a spiteful, you know, power hungry type of guy.
- 1:43:41Speaker 6: I think the McDermott firing came from him and Brandon
- 1:43:45Speaker 6: Bean going sort of their separate ways. I think there
- 1:43:49Speaker 6: is friction between the two of them and why haven't
- 1:43:51Speaker 6: we gotten over the hump. McDermott blamed the roster, being
- 1:43:55Speaker 6: blamed the coaching.
- 1:43:55Speaker 7: I agree that to me is not on Josh Allen,
- 1:43:58Speaker 7: not like Josh Allen pulling the strings behind the scenes.
- 1:44:01Speaker 7: I think it was more that rift and then the
- 1:44:03Speaker 7: owner coming in and seeing the way McDermott acted with
- 1:44:07Speaker 7: the call and the Denver game and.
- 1:44:09Speaker 6: All that from the airplane to the media.
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: He was unhinged.
- 1:44:15Speaker 6: I have to think though, that he went like scort
- 1:44:17Speaker 6: shret like that because he knew he was getting fired,
- 1:44:20Speaker 6: like I probably or maybe he thought that that I'm
- 1:44:23Speaker 6: probably gonna get fired, so maybe I'll try to save
- 1:44:25Speaker 6: my job by standing up.
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: Showing how ridiculous it was that we lost this game.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:44:31Speaker 6: True.
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: Dan also says you've discussed Florence's ceiling in terms of
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: number of games won and loss. How about the team's
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: ceiling in terms of accomplishment at the end of the year.
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: What do you think is a realistic expectation in terms
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: of winning the division, making it the Division round, making
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: it to the AFC, or getting to the super Bowl.
- 1:44:47Speaker 7: Well, I mean, Forlorn's ceiling is the same FLOORA is
- 1:44:50Speaker 7: not making the playoffs. The ceiling is winning the super Bowl, Right.
- 1:44:53Speaker 6: I think they could win the Super Bowl. I don't
- 1:44:54Speaker 6: think it's true they could.
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: No, that's the ceiling. Absolutely. You just went to the
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: super Bowl.
- 1:45:00Speaker 7: If you're as good as you were last year, and god,
- 1:45:02Speaker 7: you know the natural progression of improvement, you can win.
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: It this year.
- 1:45:06Speaker 6: You could.
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: Yeah, let's see.
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: Jeff says, I understand the world works on a budget,
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: and Forge and Foxboro was a big ticket item. I'm
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: sure because the schedule release video this year felt like
- 1:45:17Speaker 3: a teenage son coming home and saying, I have a
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: huge project.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: Doing two days. What should we do?
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: I'm assuming budget had a lot to do with it. No,
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: not really, No, we just thought it would be a
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: fun thing to do. In fact, yeah, no, I had
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: nothing to do with budget.
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: That said, I don't really care because I'm much more
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: into winning games in the regular season than one night
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: in May.
- 1:45:40Speaker 6: Okay, well, yeah, we don't care. We don't care about
- 1:45:44Speaker 6: schedule videos.
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: Socials.
- 1:45:49Speaker 6: They always win in May, don't they.
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: Here is my schedule prediction, because both US and Buffalo
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: have a brutal schedule all the same, except we get
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: Seattle Jacksonville Steelers. They get Rams, Texans and Ravens.
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: The event is kind of what I was talking about
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: with how.
- 1:46:05Speaker 7: Those are the three games that are different, And you
- 1:46:08Speaker 7: can make an argument that Buffalo's three games are tougher
- 1:46:10Speaker 7: than the Patriots three games except for.
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: The Seattle one. That's a wash.
- 1:46:14Speaker 7: They just played each other Settle at Rams like that's
- 1:46:18Speaker 7: a wash, and I think the other two I would
- 1:46:20Speaker 7: say tougher amosphere and because of the fans.
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, the eventual AC Championship will be ten and
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: seven and at least one wildcard team from another division
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: will have a better record. So we're saying a down
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: year for the AFC, just like the AL and baseball.
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: The AFC East oh saying okay, and baseball is the.
- 1:46:42Speaker 6: Red Sox are like two games out of the playoffs,
- 1:46:44Speaker 6: but they've been terrible.
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: Because it's like seven teams between them and the players
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: I know, but.
- 1:46:47Speaker 6: It's I mean, there are seven games below five hundred.
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: They stink, They're terrible. They are terrible. Let's go back
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: to the phones. Let's see what do we got here.
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: We Pat in Pennsylvania. What's up, Pat?
- 1:47:05Speaker 22: Yeah, hey guys. As a Patsman who does not live
- 1:47:07Speaker 22: in the New England region, I do try to make
- 1:47:09Speaker 22: my pilgrimage to Gillet at least once a year. Looking
- 1:47:13Speaker 22: at our home schedule, keep his tickets right now that
- 1:47:15Speaker 22: are for a decent opponent, so that doesn't count. The
- 1:47:18Speaker 22: Dolphins in the Jets is the Broncos game. I think
- 1:47:21Speaker 22: that's strictly due to the daytime. Aspect being to be determined,
- 1:47:25Speaker 22: as well as it being like the New Year's Eve weekend.
- 1:47:29Speaker 22: Should I pull the trigger on that or do you
- 1:47:30Speaker 22: guys see it differently? How would you guys rank our
- 1:47:33Speaker 22: current home games from most desirable to least desirable, taking
- 1:47:38Speaker 22: all things into account like opponent, time of year, time
- 1:47:42Speaker 22: of day, and et cetera.
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: Okay, home games most desirable, least desirable? Well, Green Bay, Denver, Yeah, desirable.
- 1:47:51Speaker 6: I think it depends, you know, if you really don't
- 1:47:53Speaker 6: want to be cold.
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: Pittsburgh, if you really don't want to.
- 1:47:56Speaker 6: Be cold, the Denver games out if you if you're
- 1:47:58Speaker 6: worried about being cold that late in the year. The
- 1:48:01Speaker 6: Green Bay game feels like the perfect happy in.
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: The middle there.
- 1:48:06Speaker 7: I like the Green Bay one because it's not a
- 1:48:08Speaker 7: game that you get a lot. They only come to
- 1:48:10Speaker 7: Foxborough once every eight years, right, So that's why that
- 1:48:13Speaker 7: would be the one I would lean.
- 1:48:15Speaker 6: Rady'll be in the booth. Fred could be right. Maybe
- 1:48:17Speaker 6: it's ground weekend as well, and you know that might
- 1:48:19Speaker 6: be a fun weekend.
- 1:48:21Speaker 10: I know.
- 1:48:21Speaker 7: That's the one game that I've already had people reach
- 1:48:23Speaker 7: out to me for. It is the Green Bay game.
- 1:48:26Speaker 6: Oh yeah, game Yeah, Okay, it's a good one.
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: Rodrigo has, responding to Paul, says, I've never given credit
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: or torn down McDermott. All I'm saying is there's no
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: guarantee of consistency with a new head coach. All I'm
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: saying is there's big concerns. It's not like they replaced
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: him with McCarthy or Tomlin. First time head coach, there's
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: a reason to question whether they'll be good or not.
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: I have respect for McDermott. Maybe not the other Patriots fans,
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: but I do.
- 1:48:53Speaker 7: And this was not necessarily directed at new Rodrigo. It
- 1:48:56Speaker 7: was directed at the vast majority of the Wo'd say
- 1:49:01Speaker 7: analysis of Sean McDermott during his time as the Bill's
- 1:49:04Speaker 7: coach was not your shows.
- 1:49:05Speaker 2: No, No, no, here on it. Where do you think
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: ra came from?
- 1:49:09Speaker 14: No?
- 1:49:09Speaker 2: You No, it came from Felger. He can't he made
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: that up?
- 1:49:14Speaker 9: Oh?
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: Did he?
- 1:49:14Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: I always gave you credit.
- 1:49:16Speaker 15: No.
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: Once again, another thing I'm giving Fred credit for that
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: he had nothing to do with.
- 1:49:20Speaker 10: No.
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: I got that from Felger and I agree with it. No,
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: I would say that largely our listeners have been.
- 1:49:27Speaker 7: Pretty derogatory towards Sean McDermott, And I'm not telling you
- 1:49:30Speaker 7: he's a great coach. I don't think he's a great coach.
- 1:49:32Speaker 7: I think he's okay. I think he's just okay. I
- 1:49:35Speaker 7: think that some of the late game things are overblown,
- 1:49:38Speaker 7: like the whole thing in Kansas City.
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: That year with thirteen seconds left.
- 1:49:42Speaker 7: Like, if you want to get on Sean McDermott the
- 1:49:45Speaker 7: defensive coordinator for allowing those three completions the way.
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: He did have at it.
- 1:49:50Speaker 7: He gets killed for kicking off into the end zone,
- 1:49:53Speaker 7: and I don't really understand that. Like if they had
- 1:49:56Speaker 7: allowed to kick off return for a touchdown, the guy
- 1:49:58Speaker 7: would have been fired before he got to the locker room,
- 1:50:01Speaker 7: right yep, Like I'm sorry, you should be able to
- 1:50:04Speaker 7: prevent a team from going thirty five forty yards in
- 1:50:06Speaker 7: thirteen seconds. The defensive coordinator deserves criticism for that. And
- 1:50:10Speaker 7: if that's McDermott, because that's the side of the ball
- 1:50:13Speaker 7: that he is on, then that to me is fair.
- 1:50:16Speaker 7: But he gets killed on my shows, on this show
- 1:50:19Speaker 7: in New England, he has consistently gotten killed. So I'm
- 1:50:23Speaker 7: not saying Rodrigo felt that way, but a lot of
- 1:50:25Speaker 7: Patriots fans think he wasn't a very good coach, and
- 1:50:28Speaker 7: now that he's gone somehow that's going to be a
- 1:50:31Speaker 7: big loss for Buffalo.
- 1:50:32Speaker 6: I mean I looked at it. You know, he mentioned
- 1:50:34Speaker 6: Tomlin and McCarthy. I I kind I know those guys
- 1:50:37Speaker 6: won super Bowls, but they won super Bowls with handmade
- 1:50:40Speaker 6: teams to like Tomlin inherited the team that he won
- 1:50:44Speaker 6: a Super Bowl with and McCarthy had Aaron Rodgers like
- 1:50:47Speaker 6: you know, so I I look at that as kind
- 1:50:50Speaker 6: of similar as these like they're kind of floor coaches
- 1:50:52Speaker 6: to me, like their teams are never gonna stink. But
- 1:50:55Speaker 6: I don't know if those are guys that are elevating
- 1:50:57Speaker 6: their teams to making them great.
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: German is very similar to that. Yeah, I think they're
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: all going to bottom out and go three and fourteen,
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: but I don't know if you're going to get where
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: you want to go. What's he doing now? Did he
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: get a job now?
- 1:51:08Speaker 6: He's gap bearing?
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's not like hooking up with a team
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: cracking like a Rabel thing.
- 1:51:15Speaker 6: I don't think so. I think he might be doing
- 1:51:17Speaker 6: meati maybe Yeah. I don't know exactly what his plans are,
- 1:51:20Speaker 6: but I haven't seen him pop up that ass radio baby.
- 1:51:24Speaker 2: Like in all seriousness, this blows me away. I always know.
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: I think he came up with that thirty third team.
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: Pretty sure he was the one. I just thought.
- 1:51:33Speaker 6: I just know it was after that.
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: But you used to call him Papa Smurf too, didn't you. No,
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: never that, those words have never left my bat. It's
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: definitely a felgerism. Yeah, okay, No, it.
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: Was after the win game. I think Felger or No,
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: it might have been Tony. Tony might have done it.
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: It was one of the two.
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: It's probably Jim Murray because he's the one who comes
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: up with the clever red ass and I thought, oh,
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: that's perfect, Like that's perfect, like Roaman Garoppolo.
- 1:51:56Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I think Papa Smurf's a little bit cruel
- 1:52:00Speaker 6: for for us. You know, I don't think we know.
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: We can't do that.
- 1:52:04Speaker 6: I don't think we normally do that.
- 1:52:05Speaker 2: But what is that? What miss kind of looks like
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: Papa Smurf? Who's Papa Smurf from the Smurfs. You never
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: heard of the Smurfs? Oh, I know the Smurfs. There
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: was one called Papa Yeah, like the gray Beer. Oh okay, now,
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: now I'm all Evan's got me all nervous. I didn't
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: think that was all that controversy. Yeah, I don't know,
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: like it was some rapper that you know, killed somebody
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: or something.
- 1:52:28Speaker 6: No, I just I don't know Ellen Wisconsin.
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: Because he knows the raps he does. His rap game
- 1:52:36Speaker 2: is strong.
- 1:52:37Speaker 7: Yeah, speaking of which, thoughts on the on the Drake stuff,
- 1:52:41Speaker 7: The Drake, not our Drake, the Drake.
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: Actually listened to it today. It's I'd give it like
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: a six.
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: Did he really he was sorry? He dropped three albums out?
- 1:52:52Speaker 6: Yeah, so he had a contract with a I don't
- 1:52:55Speaker 6: know the exact music label or whatever. So basically he
- 1:52:58Speaker 6: wanted out of that deal, so they he owed them
- 1:53:02Speaker 6: three albums. Has dropped three albums.
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: Must have had the utmost. Uh, there'll be a lawsuit
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: about that. And let me tell you it sounded like
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: he dropped three albums at once.
- 1:53:12Speaker 6: Yeah, they got a ten according to Matt, like Iceman,
- 1:53:15Speaker 6: the actual hip hop album is like not terrible, like
- 1:53:20Speaker 6: I tolerated it.
- 1:53:23Speaker 2: The other I'm not a tolerated.
- 1:53:25Speaker 4: I actually only listened to Iceman and that's what I'm
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: giving a six out of ten.
- 1:53:27Speaker 6: Two the other two or are not music.
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: That's not that Fred's right, then this is probably a
- 1:53:34Speaker 2: lawsuit coming.
- 1:53:35Speaker 6: I'm team Kendrick.
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: Obviously, he destroyed his career because he took a shot
- 1:53:38Speaker 4: at doctor Dre on this album, which means he woke
- 1:53:39Speaker 4: them in him up. So watch out Drakie.
- 1:53:42Speaker 6: I mean, Kendrick called him a pedophile in front of Hendrick,
- 1:53:47Speaker 6: in front of the Super Bowl audience of like one
- 1:53:50Speaker 6: hundred million people.
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: Everybody scared. They're not scared of Kendrick.
- 1:53:55Speaker 6: They should be scared of Kendrick.
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: Okay, Ellen Wisconsin about Sunday night games. For a moment,
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: I thought it was crazy that neither Buffalo game was
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: a Sunday night game. Then I remember neither of the
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: teams playing in that game is Dallas, So getting on
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: the Sunday night lineup is an uphill battle. It's a
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: good point.
- 1:54:13Speaker 6: So I'm assuming that the four to twenty five games
- 1:54:15Speaker 6: a CBS jim NANTZ Tony Romo type of game, and
- 1:54:19Speaker 6: usually they those are like protected, like the CBS has
- 1:54:23Speaker 6: the rights to some of those marquee matchups and they
- 1:54:25Speaker 6: can say we want this game, and that.
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: Was the first one, so it's not flexible.
- 1:54:30Speaker 6: Now, last year, they played in Sunday Night Football in
- 1:54:33Speaker 6: Week four?
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: Speaking of flexible, did you notice that on every Denver
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: road game there's an asterisk that it could be flexed
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: to Denver?
- 1:54:41Speaker 6: But that's why they haven't decided. I notice that they
- 1:54:43Speaker 6: haven't decided the time of the week, seventeen games.
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: Or the education. Yeah right, it could be playing in
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: Denver because everyone knows.
- 1:54:51Speaker 6: You can't win in Denver. Though Paul can't win that.
- 1:54:54Speaker 7: Well, you can if Jared still can't win their impossible
- 1:54:58Speaker 7: place to play. It really astounds me that you that
- 1:55:02Speaker 7: you're still digging your God, was that same on the
- 1:55:05Speaker 7: game with a guy who hadn't played in like eight
- 1:55:07Speaker 7: years ten to seven, and you still don't think they
- 1:55:10Speaker 7: had anything to do with playing in Denver? O?
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: God, I mean, I don't even have one.
- 1:55:14Speaker 6: By fifty, I don't even know how we survived. Like,
- 1:55:17Speaker 6: I can't believe we made it out Fred, Like, I
- 1:55:19Speaker 6: was really surprised that we even were even there.
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: I can't not submitting even the weather gods tried to
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: keep us from winning.
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: In that one.
- 1:55:29Speaker 6: Hey, we really lucked out there, man, I mean I
- 1:55:32Speaker 6: don't know how we did. I don't know how he
- 1:55:34Speaker 6: survived my breathing Still, isn't that.
- 1:55:37Speaker 7: We're a bad referee call away from losing. If they
- 1:55:40Speaker 7: don't call that rightly a lateral, you might not have
- 1:55:44Speaker 7: ever scored.
- 1:55:46Speaker 6: I wanted to you know that they had that that
- 1:55:48Speaker 6: stupid horse outside the airport. Yeah, I wanted to put
- 1:55:51Speaker 6: a Drake May jersey on it. And you know, as
- 1:55:54Speaker 6: we were leaving, I liked I.
- 1:55:55Speaker 2: Like bitter Evan. Is there another kind?
- 1:55:59Speaker 15: Uh?
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: Travis in West Virginia. Anyone who calls her emails a
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: show just to get a free two shirt should be
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: ashamed of himself. I email for the love of the game.
- 1:56:09Speaker 7: Nice will send your I do have to say that
- 1:56:12Speaker 7: the phone is lit up what they did give him
- 1:56:15Speaker 7: free stuff?
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: Freddy Eldred who also calls for the love of the game.
- 1:56:19Speaker 2: What's up Eldred's and.
- 1:56:22Speaker 13: We're an original podcast. How y'all doing good?
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: How you doing?
- 1:56:26Speaker 13: I'm doing okay? Hey, I'll listen to a lot of
- 1:56:29Speaker 13: Patriots podcasts like Nick Cattle's and Bernard and a couple
- 1:56:33Speaker 13: other people. Well, this one guy keeps saying with the
- 1:56:37Speaker 13: booty trade, there's uh, there's gonna be an arm race
- 1:56:42Speaker 13: for a j Brown a beating war on June. On
- 1:56:46Speaker 13: June the first, I'm like.
- 1:56:47Speaker 9: You gotta be kidding.
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: Who said that? Eldred?
- 1:56:51Speaker 13: Uh, it was like a little young guy. I can't
- 1:56:53Speaker 13: remember his name, but on June first, it's going to
- 1:56:56Speaker 13: be a batting war.
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: Maybe I have heard the opposite. I heard the only team.
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: Everything I've heard is what Fred just said. Yeah, I
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: heard that just the other day.
- 1:57:05Speaker 13: Okay, I'm hoping that what that is. And my other
- 1:57:07Speaker 13: question is, I know, iybody want to get rid of
- 1:57:10Speaker 13: Booty because hum, and I ain't. Matt Holland's the same,
- 1:57:15Speaker 13: but and he's older. I mean, why can't you get
- 1:57:18Speaker 13: rid of Mat?
- 1:57:19Speaker 15: Well?
- 1:57:20Speaker 6: I think Matt Collins a little more versatile, a little
- 1:57:22Speaker 6: bit better blocker, yeah than those guys, Josh. He can
- 1:57:26Speaker 6: play a little bit more point though, like inside the slot,
- 1:57:29Speaker 6: play a little more tight end point.
- 1:57:31Speaker 7: And they're both going into the last year of their contracts.
- 1:57:34Speaker 7: And Booty is younger. You know, he seemed to be
- 1:57:37Speaker 7: a guy that you would want to, you know, invest
- 1:57:40Speaker 7: in for the future.
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: But yeah, I just don't know. I do think that
- 1:57:43Speaker 2: I don't look at them as Collins does different things than.
- 1:57:46Speaker 6: Hollins is a really movable piece.
- 1:57:50Speaker 7: Any and I think that his blocking ability all right,
- 1:57:54Speaker 7: But I was kind of felt like Booty does a
- 1:57:56Speaker 7: decent job in that too.
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: I mean, he's not gonna go on dig out the
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: nickel for you. That's why I was just about to say,
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: paulin David Bethlehem, the travel on the schedule concerns me.
- 1:58:05Speaker 2: Twenty seven thousand miles. Really, guys can break discipline when
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: routine is disrupted. Can a young team stay straight?
- 1:58:12Speaker 6: It's fair? I wonder how we you know, how they
- 1:58:15Speaker 6: handle that. You know, when Belichick was here and even
- 1:58:21Speaker 6: the year would drow Mayo like we would leave early
- 1:58:23Speaker 6: a lot of the time for those longer trips. Obviously
- 1:58:26Speaker 6: we'll leave early for Germany. But Seattle Chargers, like Bill
- 1:58:31Speaker 6: would leave on Friday night for a Sunday West Coast game. Yeah,
- 1:58:36Speaker 6: I don't. We haven't had that experience. When they went
- 1:58:39Speaker 6: to Denver, they left late because of the altitude. They
- 1:58:41Speaker 6: it was a science thing. So he didn't really get
- 1:58:44Speaker 6: that last year. So I'm interested to see, you know,
- 1:58:47Speaker 6: especially that Charger game. Well that would that's Thanksgiving weekend,
- 1:58:53Speaker 6: so leaving early would be Black Friday, and you know,
- 1:58:55Speaker 6: leaving on Black Friday, and you know, yeah, we'll see.
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: James Pettig, the most interesting Patriots fan in the world,
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: has the last word of McDermott. He says he's a
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: good coach who made mistakes. I'd say he's a second
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: tier coach who should get another job. This new guy
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: is a joke and it will implode only the least
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: screwed up worse.
- 1:59:14Speaker 6: Okay, only leaves a little straw and the leaves really
- 1:59:18Speaker 6: screwed up. That that's they're getting laughed at it by
- 1:59:22Speaker 6: in all directions.
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: All right, that's gonna be it for this edition of
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: Patriots and Filtered Cash twenty two.
- 1:59:28Speaker 6: Tomorrow Tomorrow, a lot of schedule talk again tomorrow, we're
- 1:59:31Speaker 6: gonna go through the whole thing.
- 1:59:33Speaker 2: And I got an email complaining about Barth. Oh God,
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: while you're showing press conferences, you can hear him typing,
- 1:59:39Speaker 2: man that that dude does type loud, so we need
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: to move his mic away when he's doing He literally
- 1:59:45Speaker 2: like there.
- 1:59:45Speaker 6: I think there's broken keys on his keyboard because he's
- 1:59:48Speaker 6: such a beat because he types.
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: So remember Andy, he's just like Andy. He picked things
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: up and put them down.
- 1:59:56Speaker 6: Yeah, right, Like that's not We're not really talking about
- 1:59:58Speaker 6: the same thing here in terms of that.
- 2:00:01Speaker 2: And it was a violent type.
- 2:00:02Speaker 6: I've never heard anybody type louder than Barth. It used
- 2:00:05Speaker 6: to drive tracks absolutely nuts, trags, used to dislike tracks.
- 2:00:09Speaker 6: The most agreeable guy ever, every like thirty minutes tracks
- 2:00:12Speaker 6: would be can you stop tighting?
- 2:00:14Speaker 2: So it was great, all right to fixed up today,
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: peeps it. We will see you on Thursday.
- 2:00:24Speaker 4: Hey, this is Deuce.
- 2:00:25Speaker 2: Thanks for tuning into the show.
