- 0:54Speaker 1: known for a very long time, and he is coming
- 0:56Speaker 1: and kicking with me today. But you guys know how
- 0:59Speaker 1: I like to do. I like to give my guests
- 1:01Speaker 1: the opportunity to introduce themselves. So, hey, friend, how what's
- 1:06Speaker 1: going on?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Class base?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Listen? Tell the people who you are, what you do?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Awesome? Yeah, well, you know they call me Ace now
- 1:14Speaker 2: so hey back in the day.
- 1:17Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean, I'm definitely a graduate from the
- 1:21Speaker 3: wonderful Saint Alena in Greensburg and graduated nineteen ninety five
- 1:27Speaker 3: and been living out here in Green Bay, Wisconsin, you know,
- 1:31Speaker 3: and just had to move out here to try and
- 1:36Speaker 3: live a better life for the family, you know, get
- 1:38Speaker 3: some good opportunities, and which is great because they don't
- 1:41Speaker 3: cook out here, and I cook. So you know, I
- 1:44Speaker 3: started I teach cookie classes, I do private and home dinners.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I have my own cooking show on quite a few channels.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And then recently, about two years ago, I started playing
- 1:54Speaker 3: music really for relaxation and to help with anxiety and
- 2:00Speaker 3: dressed and all these other mental disorders.
- 2:02Speaker 2: And I absolutely love it because it calms me down.
- 2:05Speaker 3: You know, growing up the way we grew up, you know,
- 2:07Speaker 3: I used to punch holes in walls to release my anger,
- 2:11Speaker 3: and you know that just made it worse. So so
- 2:14Speaker 3: this really really helps to give me an outlet.
- 2:17Speaker 1: So I love it. I love that. I'm so proud
- 2:20Speaker 1: of you, and thank you for coming to kicking with me.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Today, my pleasure. I'm proud of you too.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I appreciate it. I appreciated Lizzy shout out the Greensburg
- 2:32Speaker 1: two of its home. People like living a dream of
- 2:37Speaker 1: making their their dreams of reality. So we're going to
- 2:41Speaker 1: get into life a little bit. Okay, now, you just
- 2:45Speaker 1: talked about how you cook and shout out to the packers.
- 2:49Speaker 1: That's my team.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Don't yeah, say he and I cooked for them too,
- 2:53Speaker 2: so you know quite a few of them.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Listen, don't have me to come visit.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Cook some They introduced you to a couple of packers.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Here you go. Yes, So I want to get into
- 3:07Speaker 1: talk about life, love and all on the podcast. Right,
- 3:12Speaker 1: So we're gonna talk a little bit about your love
- 3:16Speaker 1: for food. When did you know that you had a
- 3:19Speaker 1: passion for food?
- 3:21Speaker 3: Actually, my first job was PT truck stopping amen and
- 3:26Speaker 3: I got hired on as a dishwasher and one of
- 3:30Speaker 3: the cooks didn't want to cook my food. He was like,
- 3:33Speaker 3: you cook it. I'm like, man, I can't cook. He
- 3:35Speaker 3: was like, just watch me. And I watched this one
- 3:38Speaker 3: man cook football. It had to be about thirty forty
- 3:41Speaker 3: people in there. And I mean, I think the thing
- 3:44Speaker 3: that impressed me the most was how cool he was
- 3:47Speaker 3: to see someone in the midst of chaos and just
- 3:50Speaker 3: be just cool as ice and putting the orders out.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I said, I want to do that.
- 3:55Speaker 3: So then when I when I actually started cooking, I
- 3:58Speaker 3: first fell in love with it. Adrenaline rush, because there's
- 4:01Speaker 3: something about when there's a pack house and there's all
- 4:03Speaker 3: this cast and you're putting out orders ten minutes at
- 4:06Speaker 3: a time like that really stimulates me very well. But
- 4:10Speaker 3: then as I actually started to see the response at
- 4:14Speaker 3: what people got when they eat, I think that's what
- 4:16Speaker 3: I most fell in love with, you know, to know
- 4:19Speaker 3: that that table over there, that family that's laughing and
- 4:21Speaker 3: having a good time. I played a big role in
- 4:24Speaker 3: that because the food is what they came there for.
- 4:27Speaker 3: So that's really what sparked my passion to know that
- 4:31Speaker 3: I wanted to cook. It's just unfortunately the restaurants kind
- 4:36Speaker 3: of a joke, you know what I mean, I'll be
- 4:37Speaker 3: honest with you. I mean, the pay is bad, the
- 4:39Speaker 3: hours has paid.
- 4:41Speaker 2: You know.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I was that close to walking away because I just
- 4:45Speaker 3: you know, once I got my degree and everything like
- 4:47Speaker 3: that in culinary, I just thought this can't be it.
- 4:50Speaker 3: And that's when I started to start on my own
- 4:53Speaker 3: LLC and start to work for myself. And I've been
- 4:56Speaker 3: fifteen years now self employed and thank.
- 4:59Speaker 2: God, I go.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I haven't had to work a part time job to
- 5:02Speaker 3: sustain it. It's been all just self made money.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And sometimes you just have to know that if it's
- 5:07Speaker 1: aligned to your purpose, God will make a way. You
- 5:10Speaker 1: just have to take the steps and you keep taking steps.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So keep taking those steps, and God is gonna continue
- 5:16Speaker 1: to bless you. It looks good on you. I just
- 5:19Speaker 1: want to let you know that.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you. It feels good. It feels good.
- 5:23Speaker 2: You know when someone's leaving their purpose, you.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Know, absolutely, they just glow. We glow different, We go
- 5:29Speaker 1: through life different, and I love it. How does your
- 5:32Speaker 1: love for food influence your relationships and interactions with others?
- 5:38Speaker 3: Well, really mainly when I started doing the cooking class part.
- 5:43Speaker 3: So you know, when I was cooking in the restaurants
- 5:45Speaker 3: and stuff like that, a lot of times I didn't
- 5:46Speaker 3: even see the people. You know, they table ten say
- 5:49Speaker 3: good job, that's about it. But when I started doing
- 5:52Speaker 3: private in home dinners, I mean I meet people for
- 5:56Speaker 3: the first time, and when I leave there, it's like family.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I mean, like invite me over for Thanksgiving, for Christmas.
- 6:02Speaker 3: You think that I've known them forever because these people
- 6:05Speaker 3: are opening up their homes and almost ten out of
- 6:08Speaker 3: ten times they've never experienced a private chef. So for
- 6:12Speaker 3: me to come in and get the little four year
- 6:15Speaker 3: old and have her help me make mac and cheese,
- 6:18Speaker 3: and you know, get everybody involved, like I get them
- 6:21Speaker 3: all involved, so it really gives them an experience that
- 6:25Speaker 3: they'll remember forever, you know. And then on the cooking
- 6:28Speaker 3: class part, you know, there's so many people it ain't
- 6:32Speaker 3: like Louisiana and Louisiana you know, you frying chicken and folk,
- 6:35Speaker 3: you know what I mean, but.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Not out here. I mean, they truly have lost the
- 6:40Speaker 2: art of cooking.
- 6:41Speaker 3: So you know, in reality, I'm helping these people save
- 6:46Speaker 3: their lives. You know, be honest with you, because I
- 6:48Speaker 3: coach a lot of people that you know, need to
- 6:50Speaker 3: be on special diets.
- 6:52Speaker 2: They just don't know how to make it taste good.
- 6:55Speaker 3: So then when I come in and I know that
- 6:57Speaker 3: I can't just teach them, I have to like motivate
- 7:00Speaker 3: them and inspire them and really like spark something in them.
- 7:04Speaker 3: And to see that spark when you know, you got
- 7:07Speaker 3: a sixty five year old man that's like, I ain't
- 7:10Speaker 3: cooking it, but let the woman cook that type and
- 7:12Speaker 3: all of a sudden, he tagging me on Facebook age
- 7:15Speaker 3: look what I made?
- 7:15Speaker 2: Look what I made.
- 7:16Speaker 3: You know that that just brings me so much joy,
- 7:19Speaker 3: you know absolutely.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I love that. I love that. I love watching you
- 7:25Speaker 1: talk about it because you just light up so for
- 7:27Speaker 1: the people that's listening going over to the YouTube channel
- 7:30Speaker 1: so you can see his expressions when he's talking about
- 7:32Speaker 1: this this passion of food and you know, interacting with
- 7:36Speaker 1: people because where we come from in Louisiana, like I,
- 7:39Speaker 1: people know how to throw down oh yeah, oh yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 1: So cooking was like a way of life for us.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And to come across people who just don't have that
- 7:48Speaker 1: type of foundation, how do you motivate them to even
- 7:51Speaker 1: start that with their own families?
- 7:54Speaker 2: You really, you really, it all starts with the education.
- 7:57Speaker 2: You know.
- 7:57Speaker 3: I have to make it look you know, And the
- 8:01Speaker 3: problem with some of the chefs these days is they
- 8:04Speaker 3: let the ego get the best of them. So they
- 8:06Speaker 3: want to take a simple, you know, sauce and make
- 8:10Speaker 3: it seem like, oh you gotta do this, you gotta
- 8:12Speaker 3: do to make themselves look big. Versus me, I'm like,
- 8:15Speaker 3: oh no, it's so simple. All you gotta do is
- 8:17Speaker 3: boo boo boo. And when I make it seem that simple,
- 8:21Speaker 3: you see the people be like, oh it really is
- 8:24Speaker 3: not that hard. So really it's me making the education
- 8:28Speaker 3: for them so simple to where like like literally I
- 8:32Speaker 3: can have a seven year old coming there who ain't
- 8:34Speaker 3: never cooked before, and she ain't there throwing down with
- 8:36Speaker 3: me because I'm.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Like, oh, not hold it like this.
- 8:38Speaker 3: You know, sometimes I gotta hold their hand, like literally,
- 8:41Speaker 3: I gotta hold they hand, you know.
- 8:43Speaker 2: But but they get it.
- 8:44Speaker 3: You know, they really just lack the fundamentals of.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Cooking from scratch. You know.
- 8:51Speaker 3: They can cook like they can take something out the box.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I hope they don't hear me say this about that.
- 8:57Speaker 3: They had all like that, they'd all like that. There's
- 9:00Speaker 3: a lot of processed food, eating, eating out the restaurants,
- 9:04Speaker 3: fast food. There's a lot of that going on out here,
- 9:07Speaker 3: you know, And just trying to encourage them that, you know,
- 9:10Speaker 3: now you get to put something healthy in your body
- 9:12Speaker 3: because you know all the ingredients you're putting in there,
- 9:15Speaker 3: and you get to sit down at the table with
- 9:17Speaker 3: your family and break bread versus you know, when you
- 9:20Speaker 3: go out. You know, kids got even Donald's in the room,
- 9:23Speaker 3: mom in the kitchen. You know, everybody eating separate. So
- 9:26Speaker 3: I'm trying to like bring it back to the old
- 9:28Speaker 3: schools where we can all sit down and talk about
- 9:32Speaker 3: what happened to school, you know. But the food gotta
- 9:34Speaker 3: be good though, you know, yeah, don't nobody want to
- 9:36Speaker 3: talk if it's nasty.
- 9:37Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 9:39Speaker 1: Right, all the conversation is going to lead.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah?
- 9:46Speaker 1: And what ways do you find cooking similar to love?
- 9:50Speaker 1: Both in practice and it's emotional impact on the lives
- 9:54Speaker 1: that you touch as well as your own.
- 9:56Speaker 3: See, you know, you know that's funny because you know
- 9:59Speaker 3: that's the I wrote a book in twenty thirteen, Eight
- 10:02Speaker 3: Steps to Your Perfect Meal, and that is the eighth
- 10:06Speaker 3: step is love. And it's funny because oh yeah, oh yeah,
- 10:12Speaker 3: oh yeah. My first book was I didn't want to
- 10:14Speaker 3: do a recipe book. I wanted to do a book
- 10:16Speaker 3: that gave people the tips, because recipe ain't gonna do
- 10:20Speaker 3: you no good if you don't know the fundamentals, you know.
- 10:23Speaker 3: So when I talk about love, I always compare Grandma's
- 10:28Speaker 3: cooking my mom's cooking. You know how you always say, man,
- 10:31Speaker 3: she puts some love in that. Or in Louisiana we
- 10:33Speaker 3: say they put their foot in it. But we also
- 10:35Speaker 3: say love, you know. And I tell people that love
- 10:39Speaker 3: is a serious emotion because I'm a firm believer like
- 10:41Speaker 3: the law of attraction, but you think about you attract.
- 10:44Speaker 3: So if I'm making this food and I'm thinking about
- 10:47Speaker 3: how much they're gonna enjoy it. Oh, they're gonna love
- 10:50Speaker 3: when I hook them up with this, you know, I'm
- 10:52Speaker 3: thinking of mom putting all that into the food. When
- 10:55Speaker 3: they eat that, they eat that energy that I put
- 10:58Speaker 3: in there. And that's where what the grandma's do when
- 11:01Speaker 3: they make the food. They spend twelve thirteen hours making
- 11:03Speaker 3: all this pies. They ain't doing it because they love
- 11:06Speaker 3: to sweat in the kitchen for thirteen hours. They doing
- 11:08Speaker 3: it because they know they gonna bring their family together,
- 11:11Speaker 3: which is love, and they know that they're gonna get
- 11:14Speaker 3: it back, you know what I mean, Because that's how
- 11:17Speaker 3: love works.
- 11:17Speaker 2: You give it, you receive it, you know.
- 11:20Speaker 3: So I teach people that I teach people to, you know,
- 11:23Speaker 3: and I don't mean love like being conceited. I mean
- 11:26Speaker 3: love like you know, love cooking, and not love like
- 11:30Speaker 3: the cooking process, but love the outcome that you're doing.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Love the fact that, okay, I'm doing something healthy for
- 11:35Speaker 3: my body. Love the fact that okay, I'm cooking for
- 11:38Speaker 3: my family. Now I'm giving them something instead of just
- 11:41Speaker 3: here's ten dollars to go to McDonald's. You know, you participating,
- 11:45Speaker 3: you know, so That's why love plays a huge role
- 11:49Speaker 3: in pretty much everything I do, especially cooking.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Well, I love that, Yes, you have to. Like I love.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I don't cook as much as I would want to
- 11:58Speaker 1: because the way that I work, it's just ridiculous. But yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 1: it's rough when I do. That is my whole intention.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I'm cooking this with love so that my family can
- 12:09Speaker 1: experience that, they can taste it when they see the
- 12:12Speaker 1: presentation versus the flavor that you put in. You have
- 12:15Speaker 1: to take some type of thought and behind preparing meals nowadays,
- 12:20Speaker 1: because like you said, fast food is so easy, and
- 12:22Speaker 1: they just pretty much giving it away because they know
- 12:25Speaker 1: that it's so harmful to your body. You know, why
- 12:28Speaker 1: not take a take an extra step by going to
- 12:31Speaker 1: the grocery store, yes, and getting the ingredients and then
- 12:35Speaker 1: coming it back and creating something that you know that
- 12:38Speaker 1: is healthy because you're putting everything in yourself.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yes, And I always tell people when you do cook,
- 12:44Speaker 3: because I know it's rough, cook a big batch up,
- 12:46Speaker 3: you know, because then you got lunch the next day,
- 12:49Speaker 3: and then you can freeze it. People forget remember when
- 12:52Speaker 3: COVID hit, everyone was buying canned beans.
- 12:54Speaker 2: I'm like y'all know, y'all like the meat was just
- 12:56Speaker 2: rotting on the grocery store. I bet y'all can buy
- 12:59Speaker 2: some steaks and free he said. Stuff.
- 13:01Speaker 3: You know, now, you can't just freeze a piece of chicken,
- 13:03Speaker 3: throw it out and eat a piece of chicken. No,
- 13:05Speaker 3: you gotta shred that up, Make some chicken tacos, make
- 13:08Speaker 3: some chicken casse toy, you know, get creative to where
- 13:11Speaker 3: So now every time you go into the kitchen and
- 13:13Speaker 3: you cook a good meal, it doesn't feel like you're
- 13:15Speaker 3: starting from scratch.
- 13:17Speaker 2: You have a little bit of a backbone.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Absolutely, some type of foundation to grow from. I love it.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Can you share a memorable experience when a dish you
- 13:27Speaker 1: created brought people together in a meaningful way.
- 13:34Speaker 2: That's so video of them. I mean literally every time.
- 13:38Speaker 3: I go to these people's homes and cook, I mean
- 13:40Speaker 3: it's like I would say, I had to honor the
- 13:44Speaker 3: cook for someone's sixtieth anniversary, and they were like eighty something,
- 13:49Speaker 3: almost ninety years old.
- 13:51Speaker 2: All their kids was there, their grandkids was there. I
- 13:55Speaker 2: think one of the grand kids had a kid.
- 13:57Speaker 3: There, you know, and they didn't want to go out
- 14:00Speaker 3: to eat because you got all the hustle and bustle
- 14:03Speaker 3: all around it. They just want an intimate moment, but
- 14:05Speaker 3: they wanted a spectacular meal. And me, being a private
- 14:09Speaker 3: chef in Green Bay, I'm like the only one I
- 14:11Speaker 3: knew I had a niche. When the first day I
- 14:14Speaker 3: got my LLC, I was ranked number two.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Like, I don't rank number two.
- 14:17Speaker 3: I ain't even I ain't got my website up because
- 14:20Speaker 3: no one does it. So to be able to bring
- 14:23Speaker 3: that experience to this sixty year anniversary, and because you
- 14:28Speaker 3: don't know that could have been, you know, their last
- 14:32Speaker 3: bet that was a memorable I just thought of another
- 14:34Speaker 3: memorable one that I'll shared with you.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I don't mean to give you two, but I got
- 14:37Speaker 2: to give you this one, Okay.
- 14:39Speaker 3: So it was a brother that had He was real,
- 14:42Speaker 3: real sick, and he always did the cooking and he
- 14:45Speaker 3: wanted someone else to do it. And his brother reached
- 14:50Speaker 3: out to me and had me do it, and he
- 14:52Speaker 3: had pacific.
- 14:53Speaker 2: This is how it's gotta be.
- 14:54Speaker 3: So I went over there, I cooked state lobster, big
- 14:58Speaker 3: old meal, and and I played my music for them all,
- 15:02Speaker 3: and they all came into the living room and sat
- 15:04Speaker 3: around this this guy that was getting ready to pass
- 15:07Speaker 3: He passed awaited the next day, and I was like, wow,
- 15:13Speaker 3: just to know that I was able to give them
- 15:16Speaker 3: that memorable moment of relaxing music and the good food
- 15:21Speaker 3: and the breaking bread ver you you. The only other
- 15:25Speaker 3: option was to order out. That would not have been
- 15:28Speaker 3: the same ordering Jimmy John's pizza, you know. So that
- 15:32Speaker 3: was probably my most emotional memory. He literally called me
- 15:35Speaker 3: the next day he said he literally held on for
- 15:38Speaker 3: that one experience.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Wow, that just gave me chills. Oh my good And
- 15:43Speaker 1: I love hearing stuff like that because it was an
- 15:45Speaker 1: impactful moment for not just yourself, with that that family.
- 15:49Speaker 2: The family. Yes, yes, yes, okay, so.
- 15:53Speaker 1: We're gonna switch gears a little bit and we're gonna
- 15:55Speaker 1: talk about both of them. How do you balance the
- 16:01Speaker 1: demands of your career with your personal life and relationships.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Well, I made my career my hobby, so if I
- 16:13Speaker 3: had other hobbies on top of my career, I'll be
- 16:15Speaker 3: all over the place.
- 16:17Speaker 2: So if I.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Want to take a trip up north to the beautiful
- 16:23Speaker 3: Doric County that they got up there, I would literally book.
- 16:26Speaker 2: An event up there.
- 16:27Speaker 3: So then one I ain't got stress about spend any
- 16:30Speaker 3: money because you know, that's always the thing.
- 16:33Speaker 2: And I'll work from like.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Eight to ten two hours, and then I got two
- 16:40Speaker 3: days off and they don't put me up in a
- 16:42Speaker 3: hotel for two days. They done gave me all these expenses,
- 16:45Speaker 3: so I get to have fun, but I'm still working,
- 16:49Speaker 3: you know what I mean. So that's a huge part
- 16:51Speaker 3: of it. I did play semi pro football for about
- 16:54Speaker 3: seventeen years. When brother got old, you know what I'm saying,
- 16:57Speaker 3: I had to give that up, and so I just
- 16:59Speaker 3: really just poured myself into the cooking part. And I
- 17:04Speaker 3: do love it, and I do I do love the
- 17:08Speaker 3: reaction that I get from people. So to bring that
- 17:12Speaker 3: personal into my bus and I know they say, don't
- 17:15Speaker 3: mixed business.
- 17:15Speaker 2: With pleasure and all that kind of stuff. She might not.
- 17:18Speaker 2: You know, if it works time. If it worked, it
- 17:22Speaker 2: don't work for everybody. It don't work for me.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Nice And I think it's important to have that work
- 17:26Speaker 1: life balance so that you don't get burned out or
- 17:29Speaker 1: your family don't feel like that are being neglected and
- 17:32Speaker 1: things like that, because when you are trying to provide
- 17:34Speaker 1: for your family, you have to work the bills. The
- 17:39Speaker 1: bills will be there, and so we have to make
- 17:43Speaker 1: sure that I know. For me, I have to make
- 17:45Speaker 1: sure that I'm setting aside when it's when I when
- 17:47Speaker 1: I'm leaving my office, work is left there, and when
- 17:51Speaker 1: I walk into my living room, I am home and
- 17:54Speaker 1: my family can feel my presence. Because I love interaction
- 17:58Speaker 1: with the people that I love. I love meaningful experiences.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I don't like small talk. So when I have an
- 18:04Speaker 1: opportunity to be present, fully present in the moment, all
- 18:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna do that, and I'm gonna make sure that
- 18:12Speaker 1: they know that I'm there. What is a dish that
- 18:15Speaker 1: represents your idea of love? And why?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Oh? I would say, you know, and I make so many.
- 18:21Speaker 3: I have over one hundred items on my menu, but
- 18:24Speaker 3: I would say my New Orleans bread pudding with my
- 18:27Speaker 3: whiskey cream sauce.
- 18:29Speaker 2: And not that it's the best dessert that I make.
- 18:33Speaker 3: It's just because it's such comfort food, you know, and
- 18:37Speaker 3: out here they drink a lot. So like when I
- 18:39Speaker 3: say whiskey cream sauce, Oh my lord, you just thought
- 18:42Speaker 3: i'd put some liquid gold up in there. I mean,
- 18:45Speaker 3: just the response that you get from people, you know,
- 18:48Speaker 3: it just I mean I have people eat it and
- 18:50Speaker 3: be like man, I feel like I'm home, you know,
- 18:53Speaker 3: and the year that it's like okay, okay, just because
- 18:55Speaker 3: it's so comforting and they don't get real bread puts
- 19:00Speaker 3: then out here. You know, I went to a restaurant
- 19:02Speaker 3: when I came out here, and they had the nerve
- 19:03Speaker 3: to put wonderbread slices and vanilla pudding. That's what I said,
- 19:08Speaker 3: welcome to What's GANSI And so you can imagine pulling
- 19:13Speaker 3: bread out of pudding. I'm like, I don't even know
- 19:15Speaker 3: why they say putting because the ain't nothing putting about it, right,
- 19:19Speaker 3: So you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Wow, Yeah, I love that. I love it. I'm not
- 19:28Speaker 1: I'm not rid of a big fan of bread pudding,
- 19:30Speaker 1: but I did find some like a couple of years
- 19:32Speaker 1: ago that I love and it was made it is
- 19:36Speaker 1: made out of Krispy Kreme donuts. So it was delicious,
- 19:43Speaker 1: and it's like, I'm like, I know it's unhealthy, but
- 19:47Speaker 1: if I had to eat it, I'm gonna eat it.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, I mean, in reality, the only
- 19:53Speaker 3: thing that's not healthy about it I used less brown sugar.
- 19:58Speaker 3: See when I worked in the Louisiana restaurant, I can
- 20:00Speaker 3: tell you why you might not like it. As they're
- 20:02Speaker 3: eating making sandwiches, they have a tub at the bottom
- 20:07Speaker 3: and they throw all the.
- 20:07Speaker 2: End pieces of the bread.
- 20:09Speaker 3: That's what they used to make bread, putting the nasty
- 20:11Speaker 3: end pieces that nobody wants.
- 20:13Speaker 2: See how I love that French bread, real bread.
- 20:16Speaker 1: But I love the M pieces. I love the M pieces.
- 20:20Speaker 2: See I know some people do love it. I'm not
- 20:23Speaker 2: a fan. I'm not. I want that soft, creamy bread.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I don't want that the same way.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Pieces save me. The M pieces, like the N pieces,
- 20:35Speaker 1: hold the whole thing together, and without fling it would
- 20:38Speaker 1: be nothing, it would be falling apart.
- 20:39Speaker 2: So yeah, I guess, so, I guess. So we'll save
- 20:43Speaker 2: the ball for you.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Okay, all right, so let's change Let's change gears. Let's
- 20:50Speaker 1: change gears. We're gonna talk about music. Now we've talked
- 20:53Speaker 1: about the cooking side, we'll talk about the music. Good Buffalo,
- 20:57Speaker 1: How did he come about? And why? Why do you?
- 21:01Speaker 1: Why do you? Why the name? Let's put it like that,
- 21:03Speaker 1: How did good Buffalo come about? And what inspired the name?
- 21:08Speaker 2: Good question? Good question.
- 21:10Speaker 3: So as I'm getting older, I'm starting to realize that
- 21:15Speaker 3: I'm more than the color of my skin. You know,
- 21:18Speaker 3: and Louisiana, they're just like you black, You're black. I'm like, well,
- 21:21Speaker 3: black ain't even a race, that's just a color in
- 21:23Speaker 3: the crown. By what do you mean by that? And
- 21:25Speaker 3: I never really know my heritage. I just know my
- 21:29Speaker 3: mom and my grandmother. Come to find out, both grandmothers
- 21:33Speaker 3: are both sides of Cherokee Indian full blooded. And I'm like, okay,
- 21:37Speaker 3: well I knew all these light skinning people, you know,
- 21:40Speaker 3: they got to be more into the story. They just
- 21:42Speaker 3: like black, they mixed with something. So as I'm getting older,
- 21:46Speaker 3: I'm starting to embrace because I want to embrace.
- 21:48Speaker 2: You know.
- 21:49Speaker 3: My first album is called Know Thyself, you know, so
- 21:52Speaker 3: I want to know all about myself, not my.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Personality, but my DNA too as well.
- 21:56Speaker 3: So ironically, I was at one of those local night
- 22:01Speaker 3: US one stops and I was demoing Buffalo and a
- 22:07Speaker 3: chief from Las Vegas came in and he was so
- 22:10Speaker 3: impressed because you know, I marinated it. I put the
- 22:12Speaker 3: Cajun season on it. He's like, I ain't never had
- 22:15Speaker 3: nothing like this before. And I felt and this is
- 22:17Speaker 3: before I even started playing music. I'm like, I feel
- 22:20Speaker 3: like I need a spiritual name. And he went back
- 22:23Speaker 3: to Vegas. He went into his tent. He said he
- 22:27Speaker 3: meditated for like two days, and he came back and
- 22:30Speaker 3: he said, good Buffalo.
- 22:31Speaker 2: At first, I was kind.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Of like, man, I wanted to be like good wolf
- 22:36Speaker 3: for good tiger, you know, I want to be you know. Yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 3: And then when I looked up what does buffalo mean?
- 22:43Speaker 3: So the buffalo is one of the few animals that
- 22:46Speaker 3: when the storm comes, instead of running away from the storm,
- 22:50Speaker 3: it puts his head down and goes through the storm
- 22:54Speaker 3: because he knows the quickest way through that storm is
- 22:56Speaker 3: to move through it.
- 22:57Speaker 2: I'm like, dog call it.
- 22:58Speaker 3: That's me right there, because I didn't have so many
- 23:02Speaker 3: challenges moving out here, and I literally just put the
- 23:04Speaker 3: head down and just go through it and go through
- 23:06Speaker 3: the you know, it's hard, you know what I mean,
- 23:08Speaker 3: But I just go through it and I always come out.
- 23:11Speaker 3: I feel like I always come out first, you know.
- 23:13Speaker 3: So that's when that name stick with me. So then
- 23:15Speaker 3: when the music came, you know, everyone's like, what's your
- 23:19Speaker 3: stage name? And I'm like, well, Ace is my name.
- 23:23Speaker 3: But it did really make Ace meditation. You know, football
- 23:27Speaker 3: worked great, but this I'm like, I'm gonna go with
- 23:30Speaker 3: good Buffalo. And first I was a little nervous saying
- 23:32Speaker 3: it because you know, out here people were like good Buffalo,
- 23:35Speaker 3: you know, they make a little fun or whatever. But
- 23:38Speaker 3: then it just stuck. And then now, I mean they
- 23:41Speaker 3: introduced it. I was just at the Music Awards. I
- 23:43Speaker 3: was one of the finalists and they they they don't
- 23:47Speaker 3: even say Ace no more. It's it's good Buffalo.
- 23:50Speaker 2: They except it. Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 23:52Speaker 3: So I'm gonna roll with that until this life is
- 23:55Speaker 3: is no more.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Yes, I love that. I love that. So what similarities
- 24:02Speaker 1: do you see between composing music and experience and love.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Well, see, the music allows me to express my soul
- 24:12Speaker 3: and my heart to others. I learned non traditional, so
- 24:16Speaker 3: I didn't learn through sheet music, which is most people
- 24:20Speaker 3: that play instruments, they do.
- 24:21Speaker 2: The sheet music.
- 24:22Speaker 3: But the problem with that is every time they play,
- 24:25Speaker 3: they play someone else's song. Someone wrote that song for them.
- 24:29Speaker 3: So the old school, most of the flutes that I play,
- 24:32Speaker 3: some of them go back fifteen thousand years. I mean
- 24:35Speaker 3: they're so ancient and back then they didn't have sheet
- 24:39Speaker 3: music in papers and all. In orchestra, they literally drill
- 24:44Speaker 3: some holes in a piece of bed and figured out
- 24:48Speaker 3: how to make it sound good, and they sit and
- 24:50Speaker 3: they played from their art. They call it. In Chinese culture,
- 24:54Speaker 3: it's called suiz. So that's blowing and playing from your soul.
- 24:59Speaker 3: So then when people will hear me, they literally get
- 25:02Speaker 3: a chance to express and to feel my soul because
- 25:05Speaker 3: I don't know what I'm playing. I just closed my
- 25:07Speaker 3: eyes and whatever comes to me, that's what comes out.
- 25:11Speaker 2: And they feel that.
- 25:12Speaker 3: I mean, they cry, they say they're inspired, they say
- 25:16Speaker 3: some people say their life is on a different path.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Now. I had a one lady, she was almost eighty
- 25:21Speaker 2: years old.
- 25:22Speaker 3: I was playing an African drum and she said, that
- 25:25Speaker 3: was the first time I didn't feel angry. I felt
- 25:28Speaker 3: like I belonged on this earth and here this woman
- 25:31Speaker 3: been here eighty years. Wow, that's the love that I'm
- 25:35Speaker 3: able to bring because I'm able to express my love
- 25:39Speaker 3: through the music my soul.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Wow.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Wow, that was so deep. For the first time in
- 25:46Speaker 1: eighty years, she felt like she belonged while she was angry.
- 25:51Speaker 2: And this was the white lady.
- 25:52Speaker 3: This wasn't like, you know, a black person living in
- 25:55Speaker 3: a white world trying know she she you know, all
- 25:58Speaker 3: her peers or all just like her. She just didn't
- 26:01Speaker 3: feel because those the music is so ancient to where
- 26:06Speaker 3: even if you've never heard it before, you're gonna feel like, man,
- 26:10Speaker 3: I feel this because in reality, it's in your DNA.
- 26:13Speaker 2: You're great great great great great great great great.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Great grandmother or grandfather probably knew this type of music.
- 26:20Speaker 3: You just didn't hear it, but it's in your DNA.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Right absolutely. Can you describe a song you've written that
- 26:28Speaker 1: whole significant personal meaning related to life.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Well, my first song that I wrote was the name
- 26:35Speaker 2: of my album, Know thy Self.
- 26:40Speaker 3: And to be clear, I don't technically write songs, so
- 26:45Speaker 3: it's not traditional. Normally a musician will go in there,
- 26:48Speaker 3: they'll write it all out on paper, they'll practice it
- 26:50Speaker 3: like fifty million times before they record it. When I
- 26:54Speaker 3: record my first album, I literally took my cell phone.
- 26:57Speaker 3: I didn't even have a speaker and none of my
- 27:00Speaker 3: phone and put it right next and I close my
- 27:03Speaker 3: eyes and I thought of the moment, like how do
- 27:06Speaker 3: I feel?
- 27:07Speaker 2: And I just play it.
- 27:09Speaker 3: And then once I play it and I'm editing and
- 27:11Speaker 3: I'm listening to it, the names come to me, you know,
- 27:15Speaker 3: you know, Spirit of the Soul or whatever it might be.
- 27:17Speaker 2: The names just come to me.
- 27:19Speaker 3: I am actually right now writing my fourth album, you know,
- 27:22Speaker 3: with about twelve fourteen songs in each one. So know
- 27:25Speaker 3: thatyself was the biggest connection because it wasn't just a song.
- 27:30Speaker 3: It's a message, you know, that I want people to
- 27:33Speaker 3: know because they don't. People a lot of times these days,
- 27:36Speaker 3: they don't really know theirself. They know this ego that
- 27:38Speaker 3: they try and present. But I always tell people, if
- 27:41Speaker 3: if you put on a different mask when you go
- 27:45Speaker 3: to work and when you go to church, and when
- 27:47Speaker 3: you go out with your friends and when you come home,
- 27:49Speaker 3: if these are all different.
- 27:50Speaker 2: People, you don't know yourself at all. You're not being yourself.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Neither, right, you know, So to find your true self
- 27:57Speaker 3: and trust that some people might not like your true self,
- 28:01Speaker 3: and that's okay, you know, but it's very important to
- 28:05Speaker 3: release that soul from his body and let it express itself.
- 28:08Speaker 3: I was able to do that, and it's just been
- 28:11Speaker 3: a magical journey because I'm doing things that I never
- 28:14Speaker 3: in a million years thought i would be playing an
- 28:17Speaker 3: instrument yet alone, meditative flutes from China and Ukraine and
- 28:22Speaker 3: all these different exoety but I played the multiple different
- 28:26Speaker 3: ones because the message is if I can bring all
- 28:30Speaker 3: these cultures together and play these flutes and make them
- 28:34Speaker 3: all sound harmonious, like they belong together, how is that
- 28:37Speaker 3: any different than how the world should be. Everything's so
- 28:40Speaker 3: separate now, you know, Chinese people over here, black over here,
- 28:43Speaker 3: white over here, Mexican over here. No one's wanting to
- 28:46Speaker 3: like dance together anymore. So I'm trying to bring that
- 28:49Speaker 3: back through the music.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I love that, and music is like a love language
- 28:54Speaker 1: of mind. It has helped me through so many challenges.
- 28:58Speaker 1: And I know a couple of years ago I have
- 28:59Speaker 1: went on a spiritual journey that helped me heal from loss,
- 29:04Speaker 1: and I found out so much stuff about myself. So
- 29:07Speaker 1: as you became a musician and playing all of these
- 29:11Speaker 1: different divice, you know, instruments and things like that, encountering
- 29:14Speaker 1: different people and giving them different experiences, how has it
- 29:18Speaker 1: helped your life when you come when it comes to
- 29:21Speaker 1: mental help wise? Because I know, you know we all
- 29:23Speaker 1: have some form of anxiety and mental illnesses not talked about,
- 29:27Speaker 1: especially in our community. So but how has your love
- 29:31Speaker 1: for music and making people feel good helped you stay
- 29:35Speaker 1: in a good hitspace.
- 29:38Speaker 3: As I see that, I'm actually resurrecting these people's cultures.
- 29:42Speaker 3: I mean perfect example, in January, I played for the
- 29:45Speaker 3: Chinese New Year. I'm the only brother there. They I'm
- 29:49Speaker 3: dressed up in Chinese atower. They think I'm a costume person.
- 29:52Speaker 3: They think I'm like entertainment, go dance around. I'm like,
- 29:55Speaker 3: oh no, I'm fish to play some Chinese instruments. And
- 29:58Speaker 3: then I'm playing these instrum and I'm like, have you
- 30:00Speaker 3: ever heard of the Chinese show?
- 30:02Speaker 2: Nothing?
- 30:03Speaker 3: So I was like, none of these people don't even
- 30:05Speaker 3: know these is they instruments, but because they're so Americanized,
- 30:09Speaker 3: they forgot. So it's like being able to help them remember.
- 30:13Speaker 3: It really gives me a full purpose. And then as
- 30:15Speaker 3: far as for myself, it is amazing. When I say,
- 30:19Speaker 3: Kiki is amazing. Like if you think of this, whenever
- 30:22Speaker 3: you get upset, what do they tell you.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Take a deep breath, calm down, relax.
- 30:29Speaker 3: I have to do that to play these flutes, and
- 30:32Speaker 3: like the Chinese, Japanese flutes, the shakahachi, this is what
- 30:36Speaker 3: the Buddhist monks play, this is what the Samurai warriors
- 30:38Speaker 3: play to get into these different states of conscience. And
- 30:41Speaker 3: I understand why because every time I play, I have
- 30:45Speaker 3: to take a deep breath in, I have to type
- 30:47Speaker 3: my stomach muscles. I have to hold it and release
- 30:50Speaker 3: it as slow as possible. Well, what that's doing is
- 30:53Speaker 3: that's leaving the oxygen in my body more.
- 30:55Speaker 2: That's zenim it.
- 30:56Speaker 3: When I'm done, I might play for There's sometimes I
- 30:59Speaker 3: play for lie five hours straight and I'm talking about,
- 31:03Speaker 3: ain't a stress in the world.
- 31:05Speaker 2: I could literally have the worst day.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I'll come upstairs, I put on my headphones, I'll pick
- 31:10Speaker 3: that flute up and within seconds, I'm talking like thirty
- 31:13Speaker 3: forty seconds, it's gone. Because I studied not just the music,
- 31:18Speaker 3: but I study how frequency and sound affects the body
- 31:23Speaker 3: when you're dealing on a on a on a micro level,
- 31:26Speaker 3: and it works for all. My daughter will call me
- 31:29Speaker 3: in and all the babies will be just crying, and
- 31:31Speaker 3: all they won't shut up. She threatens them now and says,
- 31:34Speaker 3: Papa gonna get them flutes. And I'm talking about when
- 31:37Speaker 3: I hit them with the flutes. I mean it's like
- 31:39Speaker 3: I slapped them with the vibrations and they just and
- 31:42Speaker 3: then about five minutes later they all.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Sleep sleep, yes, you.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Know, And that brings me joy to know that you know,
- 31:50Speaker 3: there's other options.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I mean, you know, we grew up there, like running
- 31:53Speaker 2: vacuum cleaner. I don't want to hear no vacuum cleaner,
- 31:55Speaker 2: you know, can you know?
- 31:58Speaker 3: Or they played piano music or something something that has
- 32:01Speaker 3: its own frequency, but I understand, you know, are you
- 32:04Speaker 3: familiar with the chakra system? Yeah, so each seven crimematic
- 32:09Speaker 3: musical note is connected to the chota. So when people
- 32:12Speaker 3: are like, oh, I'm having heart issues, We'll let me
- 32:14Speaker 3: go get my kia F you know what I'm saying,
- 32:17Speaker 3: Or I'm having digestive stomach, well, let me get my
- 32:19Speaker 3: kiya D.
- 32:20Speaker 2: And it works, It really works. It's just a matter
- 32:24Speaker 2: of getting people to believe it, you know, absolutely.
- 32:26Speaker 1: And that's the thing though, we are so close minded
- 32:29Speaker 1: about the things that we don't know. And I know
- 32:32Speaker 1: when I started liking, like, you know, zen work and
- 32:35Speaker 1: yoga and getting to know myself on a more spiritual
- 32:39Speaker 1: level through meditation and stuff like that, I had to
- 32:42Speaker 1: explain to some family members just because I'm meditating, that
- 32:45Speaker 1: does not mean that I'm trying to conjure up any
- 32:47Speaker 1: type of spirits or if you go into something with
- 32:51Speaker 1: a negative outcome or a negative intention. Guess what you're
- 32:55Speaker 1: gonna get. You don't get that if you go through life,
- 32:59Speaker 1: moving through any thing with love and good attention, positivity
- 33:04Speaker 1: and spiritual growth and fulfillment, that's what you're gonna get.
- 33:09Speaker 1: So you know, I used to suffer from my grains
- 33:11Speaker 1: all the time. Started when I was fifteen years old.
- 33:14Speaker 1: But to know, the more I learned about the shock
- 33:16Speaker 1: wards and the different pressure points on the body and
- 33:19Speaker 1: how frequency is to listen to, I don't get them
- 33:22Speaker 1: as much as I used to because I'm tapped into that.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I know how to press myself right here or something
- 33:28Speaker 1: and then close my eyes and take myself to a
- 33:30Speaker 1: different place, and I'm coming to mind so that the
- 33:33Speaker 1: blood can flow freely and it just releases all of
- 33:37Speaker 1: those negative toxins and all the other stuff, and that
- 33:41Speaker 1: energy just flows out of you. So I love that
- 33:45Speaker 1: I'm married.
- 33:46Speaker 3: You just did the perfect example of my album Know Thyself.
- 33:51Speaker 3: You knew, you know what you need to do to
- 33:54Speaker 3: fix it, versus people just complain about it.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Oh my head hurt. What you're gonna do about it?
- 33:58Speaker 2: You know?
- 33:59Speaker 3: They did the same way when I played the flutes,
- 34:01Speaker 3: but look I hit them with the Bible. I'm like,
- 34:03Speaker 3: they're like, well, you know, we don't get you know,
- 34:06Speaker 3: I was trying to get into the churches.
- 34:07Speaker 2: I'm like, let me play some of this music. They're like,
- 34:09Speaker 2: oh no, that's that's that's the devil. I'm like, wait,
- 34:12Speaker 2: hold on, now, hold on now.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Let me get my liar heart that King David played.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Let me get my trumpet that the angels played. Let
- 34:20Speaker 3: me get my flute that this person played. They like, oh,
- 34:23Speaker 3: I'm like, you think they had a drum set in
- 34:25Speaker 3: the middle of the Middle East back in two thousand BC.
- 34:28Speaker 2: You think they had an organ out there.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Let me bring you back to the original music that
- 34:32Speaker 3: Jesus was listening to.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Okay, I want to hear that.
- 34:35Speaker 1: They don't want to hear that, because what were we
- 34:37Speaker 1: supposed to hear?
- 34:39Speaker 2: This is what they listened to two thousand years ago?
- 34:41Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah, And I love, I love, I love. I
- 34:46Speaker 1: love to hear you talk about that because they say
- 34:48Speaker 1: the same thing about crystals and stuff like that, and
- 34:50Speaker 1: it's all from the earth, but it's all about how
- 34:53Speaker 1: you perceive it. I got my anthist and I got
- 34:58Speaker 1: a table for right.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's my burstone. Yes, yeah, because God don't make
- 35:04Speaker 2: no junk. Everything has value.
- 35:06Speaker 3: I'm like, why can they Why can they use crystals
- 35:09Speaker 3: to power your TV and power your watches and make
- 35:12Speaker 3: weapons of mass destructure. They're using the same crystals. The
- 35:15Speaker 3: first radio was broadcast through a freaking crystal. But yet
- 35:20Speaker 3: I want the means of the earth calm me. Well,
- 35:22Speaker 3: guess if God has something dis he wouldn't have made
- 35:25Speaker 3: us of crystals because we have the copper in our body.
- 35:27Speaker 2: We have the zinc that's in our body.
- 35:29Speaker 3: So if I want to wear a zinc necklace, can
- 35:32Speaker 3: you explain to me what is wrong with that?
- 35:34Speaker 2: Because it is in my body and God created me.
- 35:37Speaker 3: But you're right, it's because they don't know and they
- 35:39Speaker 3: don't have the knowledge, and they fear what they don't know,
- 35:43Speaker 3: and don't.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Get us That's exactly, And don't get us wrong. There
- 35:47Speaker 1: is for everything that is good, there is something that's
- 35:50Speaker 1: not good. So they do have people out there that's
- 35:53Speaker 1: using things that are supposed to be beautiful for something
- 35:56Speaker 1: that's negative and evil. Don't buy into that. Ask God
- 36:00Speaker 1: to protect you, protect you from all of that, and
- 36:02Speaker 1: you shall pete protect it.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, everything has side.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Everything We can heal you and food can kill you.
- 36:12Speaker 3: A gun can protect you, and a gun can kill you.
- 36:14Speaker 3: It's all about your intentions. You said that right on
- 36:17Speaker 3: the money.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely, absolutely, So what how do you navigate the
- 36:23Speaker 1: challenges of maintaining professional and personal relationships when it comes
- 36:28Speaker 1: to pursuing your music career. Have you found any challenges?
- 36:32Speaker 1: I know you just talked about one of not being
- 36:34Speaker 1: able to go into churches and through the stuff like that,
- 36:37Speaker 1: But have you found any other challenges when you informed
- 36:41Speaker 1: like your family, Hey, I'm getting ready to tap into
- 36:44Speaker 1: a new career right here.
- 36:46Speaker 2: I mean, be honest with you, you know.
- 36:48Speaker 3: I you know, I just separated myself from those people.
- 36:52Speaker 3: If you ain't on my vibe, then we just I
- 36:54Speaker 3: don't care if you're my first cousin, second cousin. It
- 36:56Speaker 3: just it is what it is. I can't let you
- 36:58Speaker 3: push me off the boat, you know. So the people
- 37:01Speaker 3: that are in my circle, really it's just my mom,
- 37:03Speaker 3: my sister, you know, my wife, my kids. You know,
- 37:05Speaker 3: they've all been real, real supportive. None of them knew
- 37:10Speaker 3: it was gonna turn into such a career. They just like, oh,
- 37:13Speaker 3: look at Ace. He got a little flute, you know,
- 37:15Speaker 3: he trying to play a little something so and then
- 37:17Speaker 3: all of a sudden, I'm on the news for mental
- 37:19Speaker 3: health Awareness Day, you know, because it I'm telling you
- 37:24Speaker 3: that the first first time I picked up and blew
- 37:26Speaker 3: into the flute, I knew it was gonna be I
- 37:29Speaker 3: looked at my wife for said, I'm gonna be a
- 37:30Speaker 3: famous flute player, and not famous because I want to
- 37:33Speaker 3: be on TV, famous because I want this message out
- 37:36Speaker 3: to the world. And I would tell people that and
- 37:39Speaker 3: at first they would laugh because you know, I wasn't good.
- 37:42Speaker 3: But then they remember when I told them I was
- 37:45Speaker 3: gonna be on TV and have my own cooking show too,
- 37:47Speaker 3: So they was.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Like, okay, well you said that, you did that.
- 37:50Speaker 3: What they didn't realize is I got a little bit
- 37:52Speaker 3: of an exception obsession from him, which makes me practice
- 37:58Speaker 3: every day most music this you know, you thirty minutes here,
- 38:03Speaker 3: thirty minutes when they can in between breaks. Oh no,
- 38:06Speaker 3: I'm every day. If I can't sleep at night, I
- 38:08Speaker 3: picked the flute up and play for an hour. I'll
- 38:10Speaker 3: be playing the flute and be dozen off, you know,
- 38:12Speaker 3: and then I'll go to sleep. So the amount of
- 38:15Speaker 3: time that I put into it really has just made
- 38:18Speaker 3: my career expand. So now when people were like, you know,
- 38:21Speaker 3: I got to kick back. You know, oh what, you're
- 38:23Speaker 3: trying to be a musician, but you don't want to
- 38:25Speaker 3: cook no more. So I had to educate them and
- 38:27Speaker 3: be like, no, I don't have to be as the
- 38:30Speaker 3: chef for the rest of my life. And that's why
- 38:32Speaker 3: I think people go wrong. They get this one identity
- 38:35Speaker 3: you the doctor. So what that's all you good for?
- 38:38Speaker 3: That's your purpose in life is just to be a doctor.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Why can't you be a musician too? Why can't you
- 38:43Speaker 3: play a sport or do anything? Because we just train
- 38:47Speaker 3: and just like the B movie. You see the B movie,
- 38:49Speaker 3: pick your one job for the rest of your life
- 38:51Speaker 3: and be happy with it.
- 38:52Speaker 1: I'm like, I refuse right absolutely, because you missed out
- 38:56Speaker 1: on different columns that you are attached to. Your purpose
- 38:59Speaker 1: is big to you. And when people understand their purpose,
- 39:02Speaker 1: they know that I have different layers to this purpose.
- 39:05Speaker 1: And it's about helping others tap into a new mindset
- 39:09Speaker 1: to understand that hey, you can have this too. Yes, yes,
- 39:14Speaker 1: but this has been amazing. So we know that you
- 39:17Speaker 1: are a chef, we know that you are an artists,
- 39:20Speaker 1: we know that you are an author and all the things.
- 39:24Speaker 1: So tell the listeners how they can support you. Where
- 39:26Speaker 1: you hang out on social media? How can we get
- 39:29Speaker 1: the album, the books, all the things. Go ahead and
- 39:32Speaker 1: plug Ace Good Buffalo.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Yeah yeah yeah right right yeah, well, I mean, you know,
- 39:39Speaker 3: you can definitely go onto my website Chefchampion dot com.
- 39:43Speaker 3: I have everything on there. All my social media handles
- 39:46Speaker 3: are on there. My YouTube channel on demand videos, you know.
- 39:51Speaker 3: My my YouTube channel for my music is Good Buffalo
- 39:54Speaker 3: Spirit eleven eleven, you know, Facebook, Ace Champion, you know,
- 40:00Speaker 3: and just check it out. You know, my albums are
- 40:02Speaker 3: on there. I make them really cheap for you to
- 40:04Speaker 3: do a digital down. I ain't got no CDs. People
- 40:06Speaker 3: like where you see these at? I'm like, where your
- 40:08Speaker 3: CD player at? First of all? You know, so I
- 40:11Speaker 3: have it on digital download. They can download right today phone,
- 40:14Speaker 3: and I just encourage people, you know, just to listen
- 40:17Speaker 3: to it. You ain't got to like turn meditation relaxing
- 40:20Speaker 3: music on once you get all crazy, like you're kind
- 40:24Speaker 3: of too late. You want to like incorporate in your
- 40:27Speaker 3: every day just music repertoire. You know, when you go
- 40:30Speaker 3: into bed, play that music when you get up in
- 40:32Speaker 3: the morning. Play that music that's going to set the tone,
- 40:35Speaker 3: and eventually your cells are going to start getting used
- 40:38Speaker 3: to that common frequency and the body has to follow
- 40:41Speaker 3: and then you'll be calm. But if you want to
- 40:43Speaker 3: listen to the rap game and rock music and all
- 40:46Speaker 3: this up here, that's where all the stress is. I'm sorry,
- 40:50Speaker 3: you know, and stresses is very dangerous. People don't realize,
- 40:54Speaker 3: and especially in our culture. I mean, we be stressing.
- 40:58Speaker 3: I mean all the time and that and I tell
- 41:01Speaker 3: people that that's really this flight or fight stage. You know,
- 41:05Speaker 3: you're releasing all this quartisol in your body. And then
- 41:08Speaker 3: you wonder why you sick all the time. You think
- 41:10Speaker 3: it's because something you ate, because you got a cold.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Now it's all that negative energy that is a real
- 41:15Speaker 3: thing that's just built up and you have no way
- 41:17Speaker 3: to release it. So it's releasing itself through a disease
- 41:20Speaker 3: or through a running nose or whatever that might be.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Absolutely, listen, man, we have so much in coming. I'm
- 41:28Speaker 1: so excited that I didn't realize that.
- 41:30Speaker 2: I'm proud of you.
- 41:32Speaker 3: That's awesome, because I guarantee you if we go down
- 41:35Speaker 3: to Greensbury, hey, we might not find too many people
- 41:38Speaker 3: on a level that we all right now and everybody.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Everybody's got their purpose and they got their time and
- 41:44Speaker 3: stuff like that. But I'm glad that you you found
- 41:47Speaker 3: the crystals and you found the act pressure, and you
- 41:49Speaker 3: learned about the chakras. And it's like you know that
- 41:53Speaker 3: that's that's that's you like, it's it's And then they
- 41:56Speaker 3: say chakras, Oh, that's all because the Buddhists thought of it.
- 42:00Speaker 2: No, when you look at it, it's really an energy center.
- 42:03Speaker 2: These are things.
- 42:04Speaker 3: This is no different than me talking about my heart,
- 42:06Speaker 3: are no different than me talking about my lungs. It's
- 42:09Speaker 3: just on a more of a smaller level that we
- 42:11Speaker 3: just weren't taught about.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Or it's called something different. It has caused something different,
- 42:16Speaker 1: and it's not referred to as a chakra. It's referred
- 42:19Speaker 1: to as what it is. Like you said, you know,
- 42:22Speaker 1: they call it.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Energy centers or the medical term.
- 42:25Speaker 1: But yeah, but it's like again when people don't know,
- 42:29Speaker 1: when they don't know, they don't know, and they're afraid
- 42:32Speaker 1: to become open for fear of liking it because it's changed.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and once you open that door, you can't
- 42:39Speaker 2: go back exactly. And they don't want to change you
- 42:42Speaker 2: right there.
- 42:43Speaker 1: It's the thing like you have to want better to
- 42:45Speaker 1: do better. And I'm so glad that I am better
- 42:47Speaker 1: because you know, my life has been a perfect reflection
- 42:51Speaker 1: of embracing the calmness instead of the chaos.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Yes, yes, because you brace the chaos, what's going to happen,
- 43:00Speaker 3: and you're gonna get more of it because that's.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Where your energy's going exactly. And you know what, I
- 43:04Speaker 1: found that most people, when you are unbothered, they get
- 43:08Speaker 1: bothered by you not being bothered by that.
- 43:11Speaker 2: They don't understand I'm good.
- 43:14Speaker 1: You good like I don't need to argue, I don't
- 43:18Speaker 1: need to raise my voice, I don't need to.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Be a that's the toxic civity that lives around us,
- 43:23Speaker 2: you know.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but this isn't a they do.
- 43:28Speaker 2: It bad so they want you to do bad.
- 43:30Speaker 1: That misery loves company, right yeah yeah, but I refuse
- 43:35Speaker 1: to take up residence and know the hotel are on
- 43:38Speaker 1: that property at all, So miss me with that.
- 43:42Speaker 2: We should do it.
- 43:43Speaker 3: We should do a meditation session together, you know, invite
- 43:45Speaker 3: all your viewers on here for like a listen, listening
- 43:48Speaker 3: learn or whatever, you know. Fifteen twenty minutes, thirty minutes,
- 43:51Speaker 3: whatever that might be, and just kind of introduce them
- 43:54Speaker 3: to the different ways of listening to music.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Absolutely, I would love that we would talk about this
- 44:00Speaker 1: when the camera started rolling, for sure. Yes, but before
- 44:04Speaker 1: we get out of here at as, are there any
- 44:06Speaker 1: words of encouragement or empowerment that you would like to
- 44:09Speaker 1: lead with the listeners today about life, love and all
- 44:14Speaker 1: that other shit.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Yeah, just I mean, take responsibility of your life, you
- 44:19Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 44:19Speaker 2: There's there's so many things that's.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Happening for the mental from the you know, gain weight
- 44:26Speaker 3: or might be and it's so easy to blame it
- 44:29Speaker 3: on somebody's or look for somebody else to help guide you.
- 44:33Speaker 3: But just know that that you are the only guy
- 44:36Speaker 3: that you need, everything that you need, all the answers
- 44:38Speaker 3: that you need. Yeah, you can pray to God, but
- 44:40Speaker 3: you also got to participate in your prayer too as well.
- 44:43Speaker 3: You can't say God, send me a new job and
- 44:45Speaker 3: then not go out there and go look for the job.
- 44:47Speaker 3: You know, you got to participate in the goals that
- 44:51Speaker 3: you set and and self motivate yourself. I had to
- 44:55Speaker 3: learn that I was looking for someone to matter. I'll
- 44:58Speaker 3: be telling my friends motivate me, man, tell me it's
- 45:00Speaker 3: gonna be all right. And then they would tell me
- 45:02Speaker 3: and it just went right through me. It didn't really stick.
- 45:04Speaker 3: It was only when I started motivating myself and visualizing
- 45:08Speaker 3: my future how I wanted to be. I would get
- 45:10Speaker 3: excited for what's not even here yet because I know
- 45:13Speaker 3: it's coming, because I know where to go get it at. So,
- 45:16Speaker 3: like you said, like Martin Luther King said, you don't
- 45:19Speaker 3: have to see the whole staircase.
- 45:20Speaker 2: You just gotta take the first step. So take that
- 45:23Speaker 2: first step. Start trying to know yourself.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Like Kiki said, you know, if you got a headache,
- 45:28Speaker 3: let's figure out what's causing that headache. You know you're
- 45:30Speaker 3: gaining weight, Let's figure out why you're gaining weight, Like
- 45:33Speaker 3: figure out the wise and then you'll start to see
- 45:35Speaker 3: your life start to transmit transform because of you. And
- 45:39Speaker 3: that ain't nothing going against Christ, that ain't nothing going
- 45:42Speaker 3: against God.
- 45:43Speaker 2: God wants you.
- 45:44Speaker 3: He made you as this superior being to do these things,
- 45:48Speaker 3: not just to cry out help me, help me, help me,
- 45:51Speaker 3: help me. You're not a You're not a help case.
- 45:53Speaker 3: You know you're you're the children of God. I mean,
- 45:57Speaker 3: come on now, let's.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Act yeah, act like it. Yeah, yes, listen, you're gonna
- 46:08Speaker 1: drop the mic on that ace and I will be
- 46:11Speaker 1: working on something for you. Guys can participate in learning
- 46:14Speaker 1: how to meditate and get into the music that will
- 46:17Speaker 1: help come to mind, body, and soul so that you
- 46:20Speaker 1: can live with the great Spirit. Because you only get
- 46:22Speaker 1: one body, so why not be good to it so
- 46:25Speaker 1: that it can continue to be good to you. With
- 46:27Speaker 1: that being said, you guys have been listening to another
- 46:29Speaker 1: episode of Kicking with Kiki, Life, Love and all that
- 46:32Speaker 1: other ship. I am back every Thursday for a new
- 46:34Speaker 1: episode on all streaming platforms as well as YouTube, so
- 46:40Speaker 1: make sure you tap in all right later and purple
- 46:44Speaker 2: Hug all right, all right,
