  As we walk with Cody here, there was some dog barking.

  Hey, listen, live is live, right? A lot of dogs walking this morning,

  and you have a lot of dogs that are walking in the same direction.

  Some like to bark. Some like to waggle their tail. Some say,

  hey, what are you doing on my beat?

  What are you doing here? What's going on? And some dogs say,

  hey, what's up, buddy? Haven't seen you forever.

  Yeah, it's kind of like the way the world is, right? We're barking at each other.

  We're not sure who we are, but we fail to remember that we are all part of the
• 2:12
  same body that makes up Christ. That's right.

  One body. That's right. So hopefully everyone is enjoying your morning.

  I know I am. It's a Thursday.

  I have a day off today. And I said, Cody, let's go for a walk.

  Let's enjoy the beautiful fall-like, early spring-like weather where it's just beautiful out.

  A little chilly, but not too chilly.

  And I said, let's do a half-eight, let it begin.

  Walk with Cody style like we haven't done in a while. Folks,
• 2:42
  a couple things I wanted to bring up.

  Just the other day, I was listening to social media.
• 2:47
  And I had an opportunity to listen to a couple channels.
• 2:53
  And as I was listening to those channels, I stumbled upon a couple of creators
• 2:58
  that were voicing their opinions about how they felt that their sobriety or their.
• 3:07
  Their daily goals or challenges that they've overcome are made by them and not by God.
• 3:14
  And also, you know, listen, I love people's difference of opinions.
• 3:19
  I don't take offense. But what was a little bit interesting that really struck
• 3:24
  me was how offended this person got when he would announce that, you know, hey,
• 3:31
  he was, you know, 12 months sober, free, or he was acknowledging something that he did accomplish.
• 3:40
  And people would write on his page and say, that's amazing, God bless you,
• 3:44
  that's great, God is good. And he got offended by that.
• 3:48
  And it got me thinking, I said, wow, I wonder how often when I say things to
• 3:54
  people on social media, when I say things like, oh, that's great,
• 3:58
  God is good, if I've offended them, right?
• 4:01
  And it's interesting because my theory is it's just another way of saying that,
• 4:07
  you know, congratulations.
• 4:09
  And this particular person who respects me, by the way, no problems.
• 4:14
  We always have great debates.
• 4:16
  I've actually invited him onto our show to have an amazing debate.
• 4:19
  But it was very interesting to hear his point of view about how he felt that
• 4:26
  that was the way certain Christians or certain Catholics or certain denominations
• 4:31
  were using that way of trying to force religion on him, which I was able to speak to him about it.
• 4:39
  And I said, I don't think that's the case. I think that that's just their way
• 4:43
  of saying, you know, that's amazing that you've, you've accomplished a goal.
• 4:47
  And because of their faith, they believe that God had, that God was with you and that God, you know,
• 4:55
  and, and he explained to me that he didn't believe that God should be given
• 5:00
  the recognition for something he believes he did on his own.
• 5:05
  Very powerful words right very powerful message and then the the thing that struck me the most,
• 5:13
  is the comments below that that were consistently coming up and that was you
• 5:19
  know the bible was a fairy tale and you know the by uh you know religion is
• 5:24
  a cult and it was and it was this,
• 5:27
  amount of hate but but here's the
• 5:29
  here's the kicker why am i going with all this a lot
• 5:32
  of people that were making those comments and not
• 5:36
  straying away from their creator it was really the
• 5:38
  comments that i wanted to get at and the
• 5:41
  comments that were coming up were people get kept saying that they once were
• 5:46
  spiritual and they have since left spirituality because of the negative things
• 5:54
  that have occurred to them that made them stray away from church,
• 5:59
  where they're hypocrisy, abandonment, being lied to.

  And I said, wow, we really, we really, and again, I don't, there's always two
• 6:10
  sides to every story, right?
• 6:11
  So I don't know what happened there. But I said, wow, we really need to do a
• 6:15
  better job within our faith.
• 6:17
  Well, all of us about how we listen to people.
• 6:23
  How we give our opinions to others, and not to take offense because he also
• 6:30
  said that when he talks about his beliefs on how he believes that there is no God this was his words,
• 6:39
  People of faith get very defensive, and they get very, very angry about these words.
• 6:47
  And I said, well, you know, we feel strongly about our faith,
• 6:53
  so we're going to defend it.
• 6:56
  But I agree, to a certain extent, I agree that we shouldn't be offended.
• 7:00
  Let me tell you why I say we shouldn't be offended. We should be praying for
• 7:04
  everyone that doesn't have that belief anymore.
• 7:06
  We should be saying to ourselves okay here's a
• 7:10
  person that doesn't have their faith anymore or maybe
• 7:13
  who never had their faith before and at that point
• 7:16
  in our lives we have to say how can we help them we don't need to get into a
• 7:21
  debate or discussion that tells them that their way of thinking is wrong because
• 7:26
  let's be honest they think that their way is right just like we know in our
• 7:31
  hearts that our faith, right, is important.
• 7:35
  And we believe what we read in the Bible and what we, our faith and our Holy
• 7:39
  Spirit tells us is right.
• 7:41
  So my theory is, I don't think I'm going to get into a negative discussion because
• 7:47
  let's be honest, no matter what we say, to a certain extent,
• 7:50
  they have their way of thinking.
• 7:52
  So my theory is, let's pray about it. Let's pray for them.
• 7:56
  Let's gather the Holy Spirit that they are encountered by Christ and that they
• 8:03
  find that their new way of life will help them, guide them to the path of righteousness.
• 8:08

  to think about what we talked about. And this is a topic that I think we're

  gonna need to talk about more.
