- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:04Speaker 2: This is the Team Up Play Show podcast.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Previously in the City of Bones.
- 0:40Speaker 2: You also see all the people chained to their desks
- 0:44Speaker 2: and workspaces. Bursting through the south wall, you see a
- 0:50Speaker 2: beast who has the body of a rhino, and where
- 0:54Speaker 2: the rhino's head should be, there is instead the torso
- 0:59Speaker 2: of a man. Flapping down and landing on his back
- 1:03Speaker 2: is a scrawny man in a gymnast leotard. Out of
- 1:07Speaker 2: his back sprout gray wings that flutter in his descent.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Gabrielle shouts back, how about them. We want to see
- 1:15Speaker 2: what you can.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Do, because I think maybe the intent of these animal
- 1:19Speaker 4: people is to hurt the folks that were just chained up.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I think I'm picking up on that too.
- 1:29Speaker 5: I just look at both of you as like, can
- 1:30Speaker 5: we kill them?
- 1:45Speaker 2: The air buzzes with electricity and starfire as the warehouse
- 1:51Speaker 2: feels the energy and the power of Ronnie and jimiir
- 1:57Speaker 2: jumping down from the walkway. In between the monsters and
- 2:01Speaker 2: the helpless now behind you, there is also a phantom
- 2:06Speaker 2: who waits in the rafters, smiling at the foolishness of
- 2:12Speaker 2: those that would face him In a building with so
- 2:14Speaker 2: much paper Ti quanta jimiir. You two look forward. You
- 2:21Speaker 2: see a man who is half rhino in the bottom
- 2:26Speaker 2: half and his upper half is man. And then a
- 2:30Speaker 2: man with gray, dirty wings flapping on his back. The
- 2:35Speaker 2: two of you stand here in your sweatpants, faces covered
- 2:39Speaker 2: with what you could find at home, struck by the
- 2:44Speaker 2: thought that before you jump down here, you didn't really
- 2:47Speaker 2: know how big a rhino is. Now you know, how
- 2:54Speaker 2: are the two of you feeling in this moment?
- 2:57Speaker 4: Veronica jumps down and then immediately her are overwhelmed with
- 3:02Speaker 4: all the feelings around her close up. So the people
- 3:06Speaker 4: that are frightened, some of them who have probably given
- 3:09Speaker 4: up and are despairing, those who you know, want to
- 3:13Speaker 4: do something to save themselves, those who are panicking. And
- 3:18Speaker 4: then I assume also the emotions of the cruel people
- 3:22Speaker 4: here to watch and the monsters here to hurt these people,
- 3:28Speaker 4: And I think, for a moment, it's really overwhelming. And
- 3:32Speaker 4: she's surprised by all that feeling and almost gets like
- 3:36Speaker 4: swallowed up in that.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And then she reaches down to her.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Hip where she has a VHS player and puts on
- 3:42Speaker 4: some headphones to a place of music to help drown.
- 3:46Speaker 2: It out all right.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Samir is confused, his heart is racing, his brow is
- 3:56Speaker 3: sweaty as he's trying to take in these creatures in
- 4:01Speaker 3: front of him and what they might mean, but also
- 4:03Speaker 3: these incredible people that he just met up above, and
- 4:08Speaker 3: is the tiniest bit hopeful having met these folks, that he's.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Not alone in this. And what is Jason feeling? Looking down?
- 4:21Speaker 6: Jason looks sees more powered people than he's ever seen.
- 4:27Speaker 6: He's seen what he's seen in himself, and he's curious, excited,
- 4:32Speaker 6: has has questions for these people, wants to know things,
- 4:35Speaker 6: hungry for knowledge, but the phantom is tugging him.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Saying, we know some of them are bad, some of
- 4:45Speaker 2: them need to be punished. Hochi dok Gabrielle sees the
- 4:50Speaker 2: two of you dropped down, and in his own surprise,
- 4:54Speaker 2: he looks to the onlookers here, the ones that are
- 4:57Speaker 2: meant to bid on this, these monsters as they kill
- 5:04Speaker 2: the slaves, and he says, oh, very well, it looks
- 5:08Speaker 2: like we have some more contenders for tonight. The highest
- 5:13Speaker 2: bidder gets the winning team and he kind of does
- 5:16Speaker 2: a little clap, and the rhino man who has been
- 5:22Speaker 2: pawing at the ground, starts to charge and the flapping
- 5:34Speaker 2: man starts to flap up a little bit into the air.
- 5:38Speaker 2: He says, very well, you take on these newcomers rough.
- 5:45Speaker 3: And I'll deal with our target. Let's go ahead and
- 5:49Speaker 3: roll order.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Right, I'm ready, ready. The stage has been set and
- 5:59Speaker 2: the day woman with lightning reflexes gets to go first.
- 6:05Speaker 2: What are you doing in quanta?
- 6:06Speaker 4: How far is the pigeon as I'm going to call him,
- 6:11Speaker 4: is two l's away from you?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Great?
- 6:14Speaker 4: I would like to attempt with control electricity to block
- 6:21Speaker 4: his brain to his wings so he can't fly.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Very smart. Are you going to do this through just
- 6:28Speaker 2: utility action or you're going to do it through an
- 6:30Speaker 2: attack utility? Great? Yeah, so you'll be rolling a knowledge
- 6:38Speaker 2: check versus his guts check.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:44Speaker 4: I look at him starting to fly away, and I
- 6:46Speaker 4: think he said he'll go after the targets or the target,
- 6:52Speaker 4: so having him grounded might help the folks here. Oh
- 7:03Speaker 4: what do you get?
- 7:03Speaker 1: Eight?
- 7:04Speaker 2: I got a seven? So you beat him by one?
- 7:07Speaker 1: Amazing?
- 7:08Speaker 2: So you block his wings for one turn?
- 7:11Speaker 1: Okay?
- 7:12Speaker 2: Or asking me one one phase? You won one phase
- 7:14Speaker 2: from him? So how do you? Yeah? How do you
- 7:17Speaker 2: do that? What do you do?
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 7:18Speaker 4: I think I just look up at him, focus in
- 7:21Speaker 4: on him in particular. See this the strange connections. I
- 7:26Speaker 4: haven't seen before a humanoid human with wings, but I
- 7:30Speaker 4: see the part of his brain controlling them, and just
- 7:34Speaker 4: give it a zapp to shut it down.
- 7:37Speaker 2: As he's flapping and looking like he wants to fly up,
- 7:41Speaker 2: his wings freeze in the air and he falls down
- 7:45Speaker 2: on the back of his friend, the rhino man. This
- 7:49Speaker 2: is what is Who are these these people? Jamiir? Your turn?
- 7:55Speaker 3: Jamir, seeing this rhino man as a main threat, is
- 8:02Speaker 3: going to try to get his attention and kind of
- 8:04Speaker 3: take try to take some heat off of these people.
- 8:09Speaker 3: So I'll say, big guy, start here, and Jamiir is
- 8:16Speaker 3: going to rush up toward this rhinoman using my movement.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Got it? You want to get within his l Oh, yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 2: I want to get right up in his face. As
- 8:28Speaker 2: you rush up into his face, he says, come on, sir, hold.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Oh, I forgot about the Shakespeare.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Thing paper Phantom. Your turn? All right, So I'm still
- 8:41Speaker 2: up in the rafters. Have they have they seen me?
- 8:44Speaker 6: Am?
- 8:44Speaker 2: I still sneaking around. You are hidden?
- 8:48Speaker 6: And then remind me did Quanta take her face coverings off?
- 8:53Speaker 1: My glasses got shattered when I.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Left, like hood and okay, so can you stop her
- 9:00Speaker 2: because she was on the news, right she was, okay,
- 9:03Speaker 2: but I haven't seen her face all right?
- 9:06Speaker 4: So?
- 9:08Speaker 6: And how far away is a bird boy? If I'm
- 9:10Speaker 6: up in the rafters and he's down there now, he
- 9:12Speaker 6: is four l's.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Away from hails? Yeah?
- 9:15Speaker 6: Nice, Yeah, I'm gonna pieces of the highest quality paper
- 9:20Speaker 6: from my cloak, from courtesy of Elisa's creases. We'll shred off,
- 9:25Speaker 6: twist up into a series of floating swords made of
- 9:30Speaker 6: paper in the shadows of the catwalk above.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I'm just gonna charge charge.
- 9:34Speaker 7: Up, you charge up?
- 9:45Speaker 2: Sounds good. It is Rough's turn. This giant rhino man
- 9:51Speaker 2: holding a mace of rebar and concrete. You did him
- 9:55Speaker 2: the favor of running up to him. He pulls this
- 10:00Speaker 2: thing like an axe behind his head and says, draw.
- 10:04Speaker 2: If you be men, Gregory, remember thy swashing blow, and
- 10:09Speaker 2: he brings it down right on top of your head.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Jimmy, all right, let's let's tango Shakespeare's second most famous quilt.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Let's let go. I wouldn't be surprised like they did
- 10:27Speaker 2: in jolly holding. I wouldn't be surprised if Shakespeare did
- 10:33Speaker 2: come up with the tango. Who's to say? All right, Ben,
- 10:40Speaker 2: only three damage coming at you? Okay, Jimi.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Rolled a nice, a nice, well cut two nice that
- 10:52Speaker 3: gets halfd to one, so I'll take two damage, Jamir.
- 10:57Speaker 3: This thing falls on you, and you've been in fights before,
- 11:03Speaker 3: your shoot kid, you grew up dustin knuckles with the locals,
- 11:08Speaker 3: but this should kill you.
- 11:12Speaker 2: It strikes you. You kind of catch it, but it
- 11:14Speaker 2: still hits your head, and you know what You're okay.
- 11:27Speaker 2: It is Tumble's turn. Tumble can't fly, which is a
- 11:34Speaker 2: bummer for him. That's what he wants to do. This
- 11:36Speaker 2: turn bummer for Tumble. Tumble He's mad he can't fly,
- 11:46Speaker 2: so instead he is going to charge up himself. You see,
- 11:50Speaker 2: he stands from kind of riding his rhino friend like
- 11:55Speaker 2: it's a horse. He stands up on top of its
- 11:58Speaker 2: back and flips off these two like leather bags that
- 12:03Speaker 2: are on his feet, and it reveals these claws with
- 12:08Speaker 2: protruding and growing talents. He chink sharpens those on the
- 12:14Speaker 2: tough rhino hide to charge them up for an attack.
- 12:21Speaker 6: Of course, birds and rhinos have such synergy, especially the
- 12:25Speaker 6: ones on the back of the other.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Yeah, probably clean each other. Yeah, that's why they're friends.
- 12:34Speaker 2: They're specials. Okay, it is the slave Stern, which is big.
- 12:42Speaker 2: They are going to run away. So how I've done
- 12:46Speaker 2: this is they're they're all in groups there. They are
- 12:48Speaker 2: in big groups, but the groups can split up, so
- 12:51Speaker 2: they're going to get as far back as they can.
- 12:53Speaker 2: They start hiding under desks. They that means they're going
- 12:56Speaker 2: to get some resilience. They start just freaking out because
- 13:02Speaker 2: as much as a shock as this stuff is to
- 13:05Speaker 2: you guys who are powered people, these unmpowered people in
- 13:09Speaker 2: this world that is is that that that heroes and
- 13:15Speaker 2: wonders have abandoned. They are in shock, so they start
- 13:18Speaker 2: running in panic, they start hiding.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Now sorry, just as we as we're getting a lay
- 13:25Speaker 3: of the land down here, we and Quanta, who have yes,
- 13:29Speaker 3: as we're kind of looking around. We came in. We
- 13:32Speaker 3: entered from way above, so this is kind of like
- 13:35Speaker 3: a basement vibe, so there's not like a clear exit
- 13:39Speaker 3: for them to try to book to.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Probably right, so this is this is kind of a
- 13:44Speaker 2: ground level warehouse. You guys jumped in from the ceiling,
- 13:49Speaker 2: so there is a door that would lead it leads
- 13:53Speaker 2: to the office area. There's a door there. You did
- 13:56Speaker 2: see Gabriel Lockett on his way in knowing what is
- 14:00Speaker 2: going on. Also, Rough busted a hole inside the back
- 14:06Speaker 2: of the wall, so the way they came in, there's
- 14:08Speaker 2: a big hole in the wall as well. Just out
- 14:11Speaker 2: to the alley or out to the alley. Great, okay,
- 14:14Speaker 2: that's the end of phase one. Baby, Oh we did it.
- 14:17Speaker 2: A couple of still.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Stand cut twos.
- 14:22Speaker 2: We're just looking for cuts.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Quante your okay, Ryan, it's our charged up too.
- 14:29Speaker 2: No, he attacked jam Tumbo charged up. That's okay, don't
- 14:34Speaker 2: be sorry.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Okay. I see Jamiir. I don't know his name.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I see this man in the do rag mask take
- 14:43Speaker 4: this hit and not fall and I'm surprised by that.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Whoa, but he did get hit.
- 14:51Speaker 4: So I'm gonna follow his lead and say like, yeah, yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 4: between the two of us, were your size, pick on
- 14:59Speaker 4: someone your own us, right, I will just move towards them.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Also great, So get in there, L yes, get l
- 15:10Speaker 2: perfect that four of you scrunch in this one L
- 15:14Speaker 2: and are bottlenecking this entryway right now.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Jamiir you're up, all right, Jamiir is just gonna rare
- 15:24Speaker 3: back full telegraph, not disguising this punch at all. I'm
- 15:29Speaker 3: just gonna see what I can do. I've been testing
- 15:32Speaker 3: with my strength over the last several days, but I
- 15:36Speaker 3: haven't really just let loose on another living thing. But
- 15:40Speaker 3: this seems to be the safe place to do that.
- 15:43Speaker 3: So I'm gonna try to punch this Rhinoman grit, all right.
- 15:48Speaker 3: So I I'm gonna use my strength to attack my
- 15:53Speaker 3: powadise a D six and I got a five.
- 15:57Speaker 2: You get to roll with precision, Yes I do.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I'm in the same mail and I got a second five.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Oh no way. Sometimes sometimes I hate this game. I
- 16:13Speaker 2: made things for that reminder. GD Okay, So he just
- 16:18Speaker 2: whacked you and saw that you didn't throw up a defense.
- 16:22Speaker 2: In his pride, he's going to do the same as you.
- 16:25Speaker 2: The two of you just start trading these blows. These
- 16:29Speaker 2: blows that these two strong men are dealing out. It's
- 16:33Speaker 2: not like going to see a boxing match where they
- 16:35Speaker 2: have to add in the punch sounds. These are reverberating
- 16:39Speaker 2: off the walls, and you where do you you punch
- 16:44Speaker 2: this guy? Probably just right in the stomach, like where
- 16:46Speaker 2: the where the rhino meets the man the weeks.
- 16:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I went, says if like that's the balls, and
- 16:54Speaker 4: I'm like, wait what.
- 16:55Speaker 2: His rhido plexus. A thunderous punch ripples through his rhino body.
- 17:06Speaker 2: He rolls his resilience, gets a four, which turns into two,
- 17:10Speaker 2: so you do eight damage with this thunderous Wow. His
- 17:16Speaker 2: man part folds over and he then looks up at
- 17:22Speaker 2: you and his head is right in your face after
- 17:24Speaker 2: this punch, and he says, cowards die many times before
- 17:29Speaker 2: their deaths. The valiant never taste of death, but once
- 17:35Speaker 2: I'm not scared of you man, a paper phantom.
- 17:39Speaker 6: All right, I got a bunch of charged up paper swords.
- 17:42Speaker 6: I'm above these guys. A bunch of these these paper
- 17:46Speaker 6: blades are gonna rain down. Specifically, I wanna cut up
- 17:51Speaker 6: this bird fella. I don't know if it's the leotard
- 17:55Speaker 6: or the leather bags he had on his feet before,
- 17:57Speaker 6: but something about his vibe is upsetting, and yeah, I'm
- 18:02Speaker 6: just gonna rain. That's tons of paper, dawns him. So,
- 18:06Speaker 6: because that's charged upping, taking energy from each of my
- 18:11Speaker 6: powers that are charging the other. That is gonna be
- 18:16Speaker 6: seven damage total.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Oh seven damage he sees at the last minute. No, wait,
- 18:23Speaker 2: you're hidden, he can't react. That's right, Oh my goodness.
- 18:28Speaker 2: All right, this is turning into a good ass.
- 18:31Speaker 6: Whooping, a good ass good good ass whipping, or a
- 18:36Speaker 6: good ass whipping. I guess they both weren't. Yeah, that's good.
- 18:39Speaker 2: He's gonna roll his resilience. He gets a two, which
- 18:42Speaker 2: turns into one. You do six damage to the bird.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Many nice paper beats bird. You hear from Yeah, I
- 18:53Speaker 2: say it real loud paper beats bird, and you are
- 18:56Speaker 2: no longer hidden, uh Shakespeare?
- 18:58Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 2: At this point, after this first few rounds, you guys
- 19:03Speaker 2: are feeling good. You're feeling strong playing with these new powers.
- 19:09Speaker 2: The large gentleman who Quanta you know, is camp screams out, hey,
- 19:16Speaker 2: you better get in there. Boys looking bad and coming
- 19:20Speaker 2: from the corners are the four guards that were here
- 19:24Speaker 2: guarding these prisoners. They all pull out pistols and are
- 19:30Speaker 2: getting into the initiative. Two of them are gonna go
- 19:33Speaker 2: ahead and take shots at Quanta and Jamier. The other
- 19:37Speaker 2: two are gonna just take their movements. All right. Four
- 19:41Speaker 2: damage for you, Jamir. Three damage coming to you Quanta.
- 19:45Speaker 1: All right, I'll just with zeal Zeisle Razil.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I rezeal for zero two all four damage Jamir, and
- 19:53Speaker 2: one damage for you, Quanta. It's Rough's turn. He looks
- 19:57Speaker 2: at you, Jamir, breeze. From this punch, the anger in
- 20:03Speaker 2: his eyes spreads up to the red pulsing horn on
- 20:08Speaker 2: his head and it sends out a blast. He's going
- 20:13Speaker 2: to use a utility action to try to make everyone
- 20:18Speaker 2: here afraid of him, and by that I mean just
- 20:22Speaker 2: Quanta and well, no, he'll he knows you're here now,
- 20:26Speaker 2: so he's gonna try to make the three of you
- 20:28Speaker 2: afraid of him. Okay, so utility he'll roll cokes to
- 20:33Speaker 2: get you afraid. You'll rope guts. He's adding his horn.
- 20:37Speaker 2: So if you have something that would keep you from
- 20:39Speaker 2: being afraid, you're welcome to add that.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I think my control electricity or lightning reflexes, controlling the
- 20:46Speaker 4: own my.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Head, Like yeah, I think controlling your own electrical pathways.
- 20:49Speaker 6: Certainly, what if there was like just imagine if there
- 20:52Speaker 6: was a bunch of paper between No, that's not gonna
- 20:55Speaker 6: do anything.
- 20:56Speaker 2: That's a load of crap.
- 20:57Speaker 1: All right, And you said, what was the skill kill
- 21:00Speaker 1: his guts? Guts.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I'm rolling that too, Yes, I got a six. Are
- 21:04Speaker 2: you empowering it anyway by Jamir? No, I don't think so. Okay,
- 21:11Speaker 2: I rolled two ones on my die so I got
- 21:14Speaker 2: two eight three. This pulse of red energy goes out
- 21:19Speaker 2: for a moment, you do start to feel fear, fear
- 21:22Speaker 2: of everything, like today and tomorrow and what's going to
- 21:26Speaker 2: happen and this strange rhino tarn If this is true,
- 21:30Speaker 2: if what you're seeing is true, then what else is true?
- 21:32Speaker 2: But you all push it down and stay in the fight.
- 21:35Speaker 2: It's tumbles turn. He is finally going to fly up.
- 21:39Speaker 2: He is leaving your l Jamir and Quantus. So if
- 21:43Speaker 2: there's anything you want to do here, you can take
- 21:46Speaker 2: a pursuit attack as a reaction, or you can do
- 21:49Speaker 2: a trap action, which is trying to keep him here.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I'm going to pursuit attack. I'll use my reaction for that.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll I'll shoot out a lightning whip around his
- 22:00Speaker 4: waist and try to trap him. Trap him, yeah, okay,
- 22:02Speaker 4: take him down like a hot air balloon.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Okay, so we have a hot air balloon trap and
- 22:08Speaker 2: a pursuit attack, Jamiir. Pursuit attack is any normal attack
- 22:12Speaker 2: rolled low.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Okay, I'm just gonna I'm just gonna try to jump
- 22:17Speaker 3: up and punch at him before he can flap too far.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I rolled two D fours and I got two fours. Oh,
- 22:29Speaker 3: I'll take a picture.
- 22:30Speaker 2: I've not I believe in the first combat we've ever had.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I feel like critting in team up is not as
- 22:39Speaker 2: normal as I thought it would be.
- 22:43Speaker 3: But maybe it is.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I'm not a stat person.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Anybody got stats something, well, So if he's rolling D four's,
- 22:51Speaker 2: he's got a twenty five, it's more likely with D four's.
- 22:54Speaker 3: That's for true D fours probably do crit more.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Absolutely, which that's I think the fun part of Yeah, yeah, okay, Well, geez,
- 23:05Speaker 2: he's got to defend against that, which will use up
- 23:09Speaker 2: his reaction. This is the second phase, right, yep, So
- 23:13Speaker 2: he still has a reaction, so he is gonna defend
- 23:16Speaker 2: against it because he has to. His wings come down
- 23:18Speaker 2: and try to block you and do get in between
- 23:21Speaker 2: your punch and him. But and they are tougher than
- 23:25Speaker 2: just normal flesh. You feel that as you strike. So
- 23:29Speaker 2: he's gonna roll his defense against that eight. He rolls
- 23:34Speaker 2: a D eight for defense. His wings are strong. Okay,
- 23:37Speaker 2: Oh I got a six that saved my ass. Sorry,
- 23:40Speaker 2: that's okay. Everyone knows paper beats burn, not punch. And
- 23:48Speaker 2: he got two on his resilience. He beats all of
- 23:52Speaker 2: this damage. But you did use his next action, which
- 23:55Speaker 2: he has a charged up attack for, so that's big.
- 23:58Speaker 2: That is big. And then going to try to trap him,
- 24:01Speaker 2: you can use uh, this is a this is a
- 24:05Speaker 2: this is a mite check plus your whip plus my whip.
- 24:11Speaker 2: He's using his swift and his wings. Oh boy, what
- 24:15Speaker 2: did you get? You got twenty?
- 24:17Speaker 1: Oh totally miss yep.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Your whip just flings up missus grabs air and he
- 24:26Speaker 2: beats off this attack and also gets up into the air.
- 24:31Speaker 2: It is the turn of the prisoners and the slaves.
- 24:35Speaker 2: They are just going to hang out here and keep
- 24:40Speaker 2: barricaded there there. You could interact with the slaves in
- 24:44Speaker 2: order to maybe give them some more bonus, like like
- 24:48Speaker 2: a greater barricade, but they start like piling up the
- 24:52Speaker 2: desks and just putting themselves with as much distance in
- 24:56Speaker 2: between them and the chaos. Quanta Europe, I use my reaction,
- 25:02Speaker 2: jamiir Europe. I used my reaction, paper Phantom, I have
- 25:07Speaker 2: not used my reaction? Nice?
- 25:11Speaker 7: Uh uh?
- 25:12Speaker 2: Is Tumble in the same l as me?
- 25:13Speaker 3: Now or now?
- 25:14Speaker 2: No? So you're still in the middle of the warehouse.
- 25:18Speaker 2: He's three l's away from you. He just flew up,
- 25:21Speaker 2: all right. Cool.
- 25:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm just gonna I'll use my cloak and I'm
- 25:24Speaker 6: just gonna streak towards him. Get in the scene now,
- 25:29Speaker 6: God Tumble, even if he's mid air. Yep, you guys,
- 25:32Speaker 6: two flying creatures in the middle of the air. It
- 25:36Speaker 6: is the guard's turn. Two of them are going to
- 25:39Speaker 6: take shots at Quanta and Jamir again. Okay, okay, three
- 25:46Speaker 6: damage to you Quanta, two damage to you?
- 25:48Speaker 3: Jamir?
- 25:49Speaker 1: How much? Three?
- 25:50Speaker 2: Enemy three?
- 25:51Speaker 1: I rezeal for two.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Okay, so you take one. I for one, so you
- 25:55Speaker 2: take one. Okay. The other two guards are using another
- 25:59Speaker 2: movement to getting closer, so they are all using a
- 26:02Speaker 2: little They're all using one energy here to do this stuff.
- 26:05Speaker 2: It's Rough's turn. He didn't use a reaction, did he.
- 26:09Speaker 2: He just used an attack and a Yeah, he didn't
- 26:11Speaker 2: defend against He just got punched in the man part.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Sometimes you get punched in the man part. He'll use
- 26:23Speaker 2: an energy to go ahead and smash down on Jamiir
- 26:26Speaker 2: again three three damage coming to you, Jimir. Okay, I
- 26:32Speaker 2: reseal for two, so I take one more. Yep, Okay,
- 26:35Speaker 2: it's Tumble's turn. He already used a reaction, so he's done,
- 26:39Speaker 2: and the slaves won't do anything extra either, so we
- 26:43Speaker 2: are fully reset here in round two. Round two, Ding
- 26:49Speaker 2: Ding takes round two to tango. Thanks Shakespeare. Round monte up?
- 27:03Speaker 1: Are you looking Jamir?
- 27:04Speaker 3: Jamir's Jamiir's hurt. Jamir is more just surprised at how
- 27:09Speaker 3: hurt he isn't having speaking multiple blows that last round,
- 27:14Speaker 3: Jamir's like not looking too bad, okay, And yeah it's
- 27:20Speaker 3: shocks by that, Okay, I read that.
- 27:23Speaker 1: On my ally and go for the rhinos.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Are I'm going to attack him by just putting my
- 27:31Speaker 4: hand out so I can like be in contact more
- 27:35Speaker 4: with the electricity in his body. So maybe just on
- 27:37Speaker 4: the same spot that Jamir just punched and just like
- 27:42Speaker 4: short him out, got it, m hm, So in the
- 27:46Speaker 4: hopes of making him pass out.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Sounds good?
- 27:49Speaker 3: Yeah, go for it, all right.
- 27:50Speaker 2: He sees you reaching out, I don't think he registers
- 27:53Speaker 2: this as an attack, all right, because you're just like
- 27:56Speaker 2: trying to touch his stumach stummy yeah, rhino rhino man.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Those as.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I rolled two fours, Oh my god, Okay, he's gonna
- 28:11Speaker 2: roll his resilience. He toughens up the skin. The toughness
- 28:16Speaker 2: of a rhino starts to creep into his man parts
- 28:20Speaker 2: and he tries to just slough this off, but you
- 28:24Speaker 2: do start to find nerves of pain and damage inside
- 28:29Speaker 2: his body. He gets four, which turns into two. So
- 28:37Speaker 2: how much damage?
- 28:38Speaker 1: Eight?
- 28:39Speaker 2: Two six six? Dang y'all critten y'all hitting in critten
- 28:47Speaker 2: on me? Just hit it and Jami or here up?
- 28:51Speaker 1: I say, oh, happy zapper, happy, happy zapper?
- 28:57Speaker 4: This?
- 28:57Speaker 3: She know how far away from me is Birdman at
- 29:03Speaker 3: this point he is two l's above you?
- 29:06Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Seeing that Quanta is now kind of like mixing it
- 29:10Speaker 3: up with Rhinoman and is like doing some damage, I'm
- 29:15Speaker 3: gonna look up at bird Guy and say where are
- 29:19Speaker 3: you going? And I'm gonna shoot a magic blast at him.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Nice yeah and ip whine not I'm gonna burn. I'm
- 29:31Speaker 3: gonna try to do a p A, try to do
- 29:35Speaker 3: a power attribute with my attack. So I'm just gonna
- 29:40Speaker 3: charge up this magic. I kind of breathe out from
- 29:44Speaker 3: my chest. I feel the energy kind of flowing from
- 29:49Speaker 3: this my center down my arm into my hand, and
- 29:53Speaker 3: I kind of plush it out of my palm and
- 29:56Speaker 3: I throw it at this bird freak, and I do
- 30:03Speaker 3: three damage with that?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Got it? He reseals for two of those? No, sorry,
- 30:10Speaker 2: just one of those? So you do two damage? Hey?
- 30:13Speaker 2: Just a nice cut, too, nice cut, too, a.
- 30:16Speaker 4: Nice cut to be We're not cut too exterior?
- 30:25Speaker 2: And what did you already say what kind of damage
- 30:29Speaker 2: you were doing, Jamir? I did not.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I rolled a four for what kind of damage? It
- 30:34Speaker 3: is acid?
- 30:37Speaker 2: And what was the PA connected to acid? Is it?
- 30:41Speaker 3: The PA connects to acid, is mar But I need
- 30:43Speaker 3: to do at least three damage for large to take effect,
- 30:47Speaker 3: So I only did the two.
- 30:48Speaker 2: I believe very close. The acid gets on his feet
- 30:52Speaker 2: and starts to eat away, but he has these bird
- 30:55Speaker 2: feet that are tough and it can't quite hurt him
- 31:00Speaker 2: over time. But you do a couple of damage to him.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Nice paper, phantom, your turn. All right. So I'm in
- 31:07Speaker 2: the same l as bird boy. How's he? How's he looking?
- 31:10Speaker 4: Just? Uh?
- 31:11Speaker 2: How's his feathers ruffled? His feathers are ruffled? Hell yeah, dude,
- 31:14Speaker 2: all right.
- 31:15Speaker 6: I'm gonna get up behind him with my big old
- 31:19Speaker 6: paper cloak, and I want to try I'm going to
- 31:21Speaker 6: attack him, but I'm also gonna use my pa on
- 31:25Speaker 6: my clothes, which is to blind I want to cover
- 31:28Speaker 6: his whole face with paper, like you know, like the
- 31:31Speaker 6: falcons that wear the little hats so they go nine high.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Nice.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Perfect, that's a six plus one seven seven nice. As
- 31:41Speaker 2: you get behind him and cover him with try to
- 31:45Speaker 2: cover him with your paper cloak. He is going to defend,
- 31:48Speaker 2: using his wings to just try to blast your cloak
- 31:51Speaker 2: out of his whole area. He got three on the defense.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Now his resilience is zero. So how much does he
- 32:02Speaker 2: take four? Four damage? Which is enough to blind him?
- 32:06Speaker 2: I needed a deal four damage. Your clothes fully goes
- 32:11Speaker 2: around his head and begins to suffocate him. Not only
- 32:16Speaker 2: does he is he blinded, he also is knocked out
- 32:24Speaker 2: and he starts falling to the ground, taking some of
- 32:27Speaker 2: his death point damage. He takes three death points out,
- 32:30Speaker 2: so he is at three to six death point so
- 32:32Speaker 2: he's not doing great. Wait was that from the fall
- 32:35Speaker 2: damage from him? Yes? The ground? Nice? Wow, Quanta and Jimier,
- 32:40Speaker 2: you guys have just been duking it. Out with this
- 32:44Speaker 2: rhin atar. The paper phantom above you has fully encompassed
- 32:50Speaker 2: this man's head in his cloak and he falls from
- 32:53Speaker 2: the ground like a shot bird and smashes into the
- 32:56Speaker 2: ground next to you, saying we better get paid for this,
- 33:05Speaker 2: and he passes out. Shut up, it is The guards turn.
- 33:11Speaker 2: The guards look up at Gabrielle and Camp and Utah
- 33:16Speaker 2: and all those guys that are here. One of them
- 33:19Speaker 2: shouts out, uh, boss, do we stay in this? What's
- 33:23Speaker 2: going on? Yetto says yes, stay in the fight, but
- 33:28Speaker 2: we ought to go. The group of men starts heading
- 33:31Speaker 2: to the front door to leave. Okay, but the guards
- 33:34Speaker 2: are gonna shoot at y'all. One is gonna shoot at
- 33:37Speaker 2: the paper Phantom, two are gonna shoot at Quanta, and
- 33:40Speaker 2: one is gonna shoot at Jamir. Two damage to you,
- 33:42Speaker 2: Paper Phantom. Six damage coming to you, Quanta, and two
- 33:47Speaker 2: damage coming to you Jamir.
- 33:49Speaker 4: Okay, I'm going to defend with my lightning reflexes. I
- 33:53Speaker 4: move in time to the music I'm listening to around
- 33:57Speaker 4: the bullets hopefully, and I got.
- 34:00Speaker 6: A four on my resilience dice hard thick card stock.
- 34:06Speaker 6: He's gonna absorbaltu damage.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Baby nice very nice.
- 34:10Speaker 1: I defend for three and rezeal for zero. It's my
- 34:13Speaker 1: take three, got it?
- 34:15Speaker 2: It's rough stern. He looks down as his friend crumbles
- 34:19Speaker 2: in the ground beside him. He says, I will fight
- 34:23Speaker 2: with him upon this theme until my eyelids will no
- 34:27Speaker 2: longer wag ra and he'll strike down upon Jamier again.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Are you know what?
- 34:36Speaker 4: No?
- 34:36Speaker 2: I think he'll use that action to anger himself and
- 34:40Speaker 2: charge up so he gets a little bit more damage
- 34:43Speaker 2: in the next or tumble is down. Here is the
- 34:47Speaker 2: rule I've made, by the way for villains and get
- 34:50Speaker 2: up checks. If they have a D ten or higher
- 34:55Speaker 2: in guts, they are able to make get up checks,
- 35:00Speaker 2: whereas heroes can always do it because there's a level
- 35:03Speaker 2: of being a hero that is, you know, gutsy. Oh yeah,
- 35:08Speaker 2: but he has a D six in guts.
- 35:10Speaker 1: So stay down.
- 35:12Speaker 2: He's down. It's all. It's all about the gullet for
- 35:15Speaker 2: those birds, no guts, Just give it all. Quanta your turn. Okay.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I see these men leaving.
- 35:29Speaker 4: I think about my parents, especially my father not knowing
- 35:34Speaker 4: where he is and Gabe and in a moment of panic,
- 35:40Speaker 4: trying to fix a mistake I made.
- 35:41Speaker 1: I would like to make utility action to make them forget.
- 35:45Speaker 2: They saw me here. Oh, memory, memory, memory rager. Yeah,
- 35:54Speaker 2: I think that is certainly a branching power for I
- 35:57Speaker 2: think so. But that's exciting. Yeah, I love a branch Yes,
- 36:03Speaker 2: so from you. It's a knowledge check, all right, as
- 36:07Speaker 2: well as your control electricity.
- 36:10Speaker 1: And you have to succeed on a one godly check.
- 36:15Speaker 2: One godly check. So I'm rolling a D twenty plus
- 36:18Speaker 2: a D four.
- 36:19Speaker 1: All right, I'm rolling a D six plus a D four. Okay,
- 36:22Speaker 1: I can't tell if it's good or bad. It is
- 36:24Speaker 1: it good or bad?
- 36:24Speaker 5: Is it good or bad?
- 36:26Speaker 1: He's oh, it's good, it's good.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Okay, here we go. Seven. I rolled a one on
- 36:35Speaker 2: my D four and a one on my D twenty.
- 36:42Speaker 2: There's always a.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Chance, always a chance to branch.
- 36:49Speaker 2: These men who thought you dead. You revealed yourself to
- 36:54Speaker 2: them as you jumped down, and they were terrified that
- 36:59Speaker 2: you were back. You reach into their minds and you
- 37:03Speaker 2: pluck away a few of the things that are keeping
- 37:08Speaker 2: you in their memory. As they walk out of the door. Jamir,
- 37:15Speaker 2: your turn, Jamir is ready though the row some hams.
- 37:21Speaker 2: So I'm just gonna keep punching at this rhino guy.
- 37:25Speaker 2: So I'm gonna have to burn a an energy point
- 37:29Speaker 2: right because I do not I already used my attack
- 37:33Speaker 2: action for the first phase to do my magic blast,
- 37:37Speaker 2: So this time I'm gonna burn some juice. But I'm
- 37:40Speaker 2: gonna just punch at this guy who's still up, and
- 37:44Speaker 2: I got a four. Okay, he sees your punch coming.
- 37:48Speaker 2: He understands that it can do some real damage. He
- 37:52Speaker 2: thought nothing in the world could be stronger than a
- 37:54Speaker 2: rhino tar. But here you are, Jamir. And as the
- 37:59Speaker 2: punch comes in, he turns a part of his rhino
- 38:03Speaker 2: hide to you in order to reseal against you. He
- 38:07Speaker 2: rolls a four on his resilience, which takes him to two.
- 38:10Speaker 2: So how much did you do? Four?
- 38:11Speaker 3: Four?
- 38:12Speaker 2: So he takes two damage from that. Hey, he's looking
- 38:16Speaker 2: beat up, bruised paper Phantom at your turn. Okay, there
- 38:21Speaker 2: are guards closing in on you, guys. The Birdman is
- 38:25Speaker 2: crumpled on the ground, and the Rhino tar is still
- 38:30Speaker 2: raging at jamr and Quanta.
- 38:32Speaker 6: I've seen Quanta use electric power here to try and
- 38:36Speaker 6: lasso him and to cut her way into this room.
- 38:41Speaker 6: And a little little light bulb goes off for Jason
- 38:45Speaker 6: and he's going to use paper manipulation here, gonna give
- 38:51Speaker 6: four support pips to Quanta. Specifically, Jason has a little
- 39:01Speaker 6: bit of gold leaf paper, the only thing that can
- 39:05Speaker 6: conduct anything. And he's just gonna just from above, like
- 39:11Speaker 6: a sheet of gold leaf paper is gonna come out
- 39:13Speaker 6: of his cloak, folding neatly and nicely around the rhinos horn.
- 39:18Speaker 6: Oh very nice, and I'll yell down from above get him.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I think that's Shakespeare. It's the guard's turn. Or did
- 39:30Speaker 2: you want to say something, just.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Tell yeah, that's it.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Hell, yeah, that's Shakespeare. Yeah, it's the guard's turn. They
- 39:39Speaker 2: are gonna run in on you guys and just try
- 39:42Speaker 2: to grapple and tackle you. So they're using a movement.
- 39:45Speaker 2: One of them says that's enough, let's calm this down,
- 39:49Speaker 2: and they're they're acting like mal cop so like there's
- 39:52Speaker 2: a fight that's broken out in our food court. We
- 39:55Speaker 2: gotta stop it. So they're just like, hey, let's calm down, everybody,
- 39:59Speaker 2: and they're gonna try to get a hold of you.
- 40:00Speaker 2: So they're all using a movement and they get within
- 40:03Speaker 2: this l that is busy, busy, busy l. It's Rough's turn.
- 40:10Speaker 2: The rhino tar mm in desperation with a charged power,
- 40:22Speaker 2: he is going to raise up this mall. He has
- 40:28Speaker 2: the red from his horn, now sparkling with gold, leaks
- 40:33Speaker 2: into his head and then down his neck, into his
- 40:36Speaker 2: shoulders and up his arms, and he is going to
- 40:41Speaker 2: smash his mall into the ground, forming a crater that
- 40:46Speaker 2: rubs and ripples out and is going to hit everyone
- 40:50Speaker 2: within this l including Birdman who is down and the guards.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Yikes.
- 40:59Speaker 2: So he's so he's gonna add a one to this role.
- 41:02Speaker 2: That's his charge up this Jamiir will defend against Oh,
- 41:07Speaker 2: he rolled an eight plus one is nine. So here's
- 41:10Speaker 2: how this works. Everybody nine is coming up against everyone, Jamiir,
- 41:14Speaker 2: you can defend everyone in your l nice who I
- 41:19Speaker 2: want to defend? Correct, But it's minus one for each
- 41:23Speaker 2: person you want to defend. So I think I just
- 41:26Speaker 2: want to defend Quanta, right, everybody else that don't correct?
- 41:30Speaker 1: That would be really great, would be so great.
- 41:33Speaker 3: So I just do minus one, yes, okay? And then
- 41:37Speaker 3: what do I What do I add when I do
- 41:39Speaker 3: my defense reaction GD?
- 41:41Speaker 2: So it's just whatever power you have set up for
- 41:44Speaker 2: defending that power dive right, So you defend and then
- 41:48Speaker 2: you'll also roll your resilience.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Okay. So I'm using my magic as my defense, so
- 41:58Speaker 3: I push out the magic to try to shield myself
- 42:04Speaker 3: in quanta. So I roll for a resilience with power. Wow,
- 42:13Speaker 3: I roll two fives. So do I have the resilience die?
- 42:18Speaker 2: Yes, you always have resilience, so yeah, always have you
- 42:21Speaker 2: kind of first roll your defensive dye and then that
- 42:24Speaker 2: cuts off however much it would, So rolling a five
- 42:28Speaker 2: would turn into four damage coming at you and four
- 42:33Speaker 2: damage coming at quanta okay, and then your resilience would
- 42:38Speaker 2: turn into six, which goes down to three, so you
- 42:41Speaker 2: only take one damage from this huge hit to me? Wow,
- 42:45Speaker 2: do you need help? I have?
- 42:48Speaker 1: So four is coming at me, I have to roll
- 42:51Speaker 1: a four. M I D four.
- 42:52Speaker 6: I'm i'll, I am I close enough to also defend
- 42:55Speaker 6: you are three two l's away. Okay, I don't have
- 43:00Speaker 6: a defensive power with that range, so I know got it?
- 43:04Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I rolled a three. Wait that becomes a
- 43:07Speaker 1: two also, yes?
- 43:08Speaker 2: Yeah three two?
- 43:10Speaker 1: I take two?
- 43:10Speaker 3: Yes?
- 43:11Speaker 2: Great?
- 43:12Speaker 3: Still up take two?
- 43:14Speaker 2: Jamir. Against this massive mall coming down and rending the
- 43:19Speaker 2: air and the ground around you, what do you do
- 43:21Speaker 2: to defend against it? You and Quanta.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah, so Jamir is still just experimenting with this newfound magic.
- 43:30Speaker 3: So yeah, he's just gonna try to push the magic
- 43:33Speaker 3: out of him. But instead of to hurt to try
- 43:36Speaker 3: to shield.
- 43:41Speaker 2: This mall erupts. Jamir's magic shield blocks the incoming damage
- 43:48Speaker 2: from you and Quanta. Quanta, you still feel a bit
- 43:51Speaker 2: of the searing red energy heat off of this, but
- 43:55Speaker 2: I see.
- 43:55Speaker 1: It get stopped by what the guy next to me did.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I just look over and do a quick nod, thank you.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, Tumble the birdman, crumpled on the ground is
- 44:09Speaker 2: eviscerated in this red light and is gone ash. The
- 44:15Speaker 2: guards also running in are going to defend against this,
- 44:19Speaker 2: but it doesn't look good in their defense. They just
- 44:24Speaker 2: they're just normal guys, so they just they're just like
- 44:28Speaker 2: one of them shoots at the red coming at him.
- 44:31Speaker 2: The other ones just kind of like ball up and
- 44:34Speaker 2: curl up trying to stop this wave of energy. No,
- 44:39Speaker 2: two of them are completely eviscerated. The other two get
- 44:43Speaker 2: to roll resilience the one. Another one is eviscerated that
- 44:48Speaker 2: the last one does survive this wave, but three of
- 44:51Speaker 2: the guards burn up in red light. Wow. Nice, they
- 44:56Speaker 2: seemed okay, they seem like very evil sleeved Rough looks
- 45:02Speaker 2: down as this energy, this power eviscerated his friend. He says,
- 45:09Speaker 2: when sorrows come, they come not single spies, but in battalions.
- 45:18Speaker 2: He seems sad to lose his only friend.
- 45:22Speaker 3: Dude, get fucked.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Quanta your turn. There's one guard left and a giant
- 45:29Speaker 2: rhinotar still.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I used my reaction.
- 45:32Speaker 2: Okay, Jamir, you also used your reaction. I did paper phantom.
- 45:38Speaker 2: I have not used my reaction. Wow, classic paper phantom.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Classic peep.
- 45:46Speaker 2: At this point.
- 45:47Speaker 6: So I'm just sort of gliding above the situation. I
- 45:50Speaker 6: think I'm gonna get down into the fray.
- 45:52Speaker 2: At this point, I'm gonna.
- 45:54Speaker 6: Square up with with with uh, these two two sweat
- 45:59Speaker 6: panted people that I've been fighting with, and just get
- 46:03Speaker 6: in the same space back to back.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Great. A phantom drops down next to the two of you.
- 46:10Speaker 2: It's the last guard's turn. He has a gun shaking,
- 46:15Speaker 2: looks at the three of you that are fine, and
- 46:19Speaker 2: he starts to book it. Got you right on the dick.
- 46:24Speaker 2: What nothing, nothing, It's Rough's turn. Raises his head to
- 46:30Speaker 2: the sky and you see a large rhino tier running
- 46:34Speaker 2: down his face. That's from Hamlet, and he's going to
- 46:42Speaker 2: turn around and try to run out of this warehouse,
- 46:47Speaker 2: out of the hole that he knows, sir, So he
- 46:52Speaker 2: gets he gets to move yep, because nobody has a reaction.
- 46:57Speaker 1: No, sadly, how far does he get?
- 47:00Speaker 2: Let me see how fast he is? He's not fast?
- 47:05Speaker 2: Oh good, he gets one l out of here? No
- 47:13Speaker 2: is rhino ass.
- 47:15Speaker 4: I really thought he'd be faster, I say, just really
- 47:20Speaker 4: really thought rhinos moved faster.
- 47:22Speaker 2: I thought I made him. I thought I made him
- 47:25Speaker 2: have like a charge speed.
- 47:26Speaker 1: You know what's fast, hippopotamus?
- 47:29Speaker 3: Really? Yeah? Really yeah?
- 47:31Speaker 2: Birds like to hang out on their backs too. Next time, Quanta,
- 47:35Speaker 2: your turn.
- 47:36Speaker 4: All right, top of the round. Yes, I see him leaving,
- 47:40Speaker 4: and I aim for the gold tip on his horn.
- 47:45Speaker 1: With my lightning whip.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Awesome, roll your damage.
- 47:49Speaker 1: So he's only one l away?
- 47:52Speaker 4: Yes, okay, then I do not have precision because he's
- 47:56Speaker 4: got to be three if it's range, yes.
- 47:58Speaker 1: That's four plus four plus us one is nine?
- 48:02Speaker 2: Wow? Four plus four him? Yeah, name damage. He has
- 48:09Speaker 2: his back turned you and he's running away, moaning into
- 48:13Speaker 2: the air. This whip comes out, strikes his face the
- 48:19Speaker 2: horn that you can still see protruding off the top
- 48:22Speaker 2: of his human head. He only gets to roll his resilience,
- 48:26Speaker 2: the toughness of his rhino skin against this attack. He
- 48:33Speaker 2: rolled a one, which turns into zero. Now comes the
- 48:37Speaker 2: important choice for our fledgling heroes. In Team up, you
- 48:43Speaker 2: always have the choice to do lethal or non lethal damage,
- 48:49Speaker 2: classic superhero style. What do you do?
- 48:52Speaker 1: Oh, they did not want this to be my choice.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Seems to Kwanta that no one got hurt here except
- 48:59Speaker 4: for or the bad guys, the people who are going
- 49:04Speaker 4: to do these folks harm, and so as like the
- 49:10Speaker 4: lightning whip is connected to her hands, connected to the horn,
- 49:13Speaker 4: she feels everything like shutting down in this guy's odd body,
- 49:21Speaker 4: but she stops it. She stops it from completely shutting down.
- 49:40Speaker 2: You knock out rough the man, Rhino man, rhino.
- 49:46Speaker 1: Rhin no man.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Man crumples into the ground, and I.
- 49:50Speaker 1: Say good night, sweet ladies with hamlet, I tell you.
- 49:57Speaker 2: And we come out of combat. The three of you
- 50:02Speaker 2: standing here at this hole, smashed into the wall. What
- 50:07Speaker 2: do you do?
- 50:09Speaker 6: I'm gonna grab I guess Jimmy or I don't know
- 50:12Speaker 6: his name, but I'm just gonna grab him by the collar.
- 50:14Speaker 5: What do you know?
- 50:14Speaker 2: It's like shaking.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Oh hey, hey, hey, hey, get to get off.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Of me, freak. Hey.
- 50:21Speaker 4: I uh am kind of concerned about that. But then
- 50:23Speaker 4: I turn around, remembering that there's a whole crowd of.
- 50:26Speaker 3: People in here, and yeah, I'm not gonna hurt the
- 50:30Speaker 3: pep this this strange paper clad man. But I will
- 50:36Speaker 3: use my strength to just pull his hands off me
- 50:42Speaker 3: and say, I don't know anything.
- 50:49Speaker 1: My mind is blak.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, paper fantay no without a role. Two
- 50:58Speaker 2: things that one this man is so much stronger than
- 51:01Speaker 2: you God, and two that he doesn't know anything.
- 51:07Speaker 6: All right, great, yeah, just pull my cloak up over
- 51:11Speaker 6: my face to hide my shame.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Okay, okay, cool, what about you? What do you know?
- 51:19Speaker 4: I take off my headphones and say, can we can
- 51:22Speaker 4: we say this from maybe after everyone here is okay.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I turn around and look at all these people.
- 51:32Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of people here. They most of
- 51:35Speaker 2: them are in shock. One of them comes up to
- 51:38Speaker 2: you guys and starts a conversation. He says, hey, even
- 51:44Speaker 2: by the color, do you.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Kick the paper phantom?
- 51:51Speaker 2: You guys, show the paper phantom of the Guy's like, hey,
- 51:56Speaker 2: keep that guy away. From me. I don't this and
- 52:00Speaker 2: this has been a weird night.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Are you okay?
- 52:03Speaker 2: Well no, I mean no, we're not okay, right, this
- 52:08Speaker 2: is our what we what are we supposed to do?
- 52:13Speaker 2: This is we live here, This is we get food
- 52:16Speaker 2: from here?
- 52:18Speaker 1: Oh this is your home?
- 52:20Speaker 2: Well kind of yeah, most of us criminals are or homeless.
- 52:28Speaker 2: This is how well, this is how we eat right now.
- 52:32Speaker 2: They keep us, they keep us high, and they keep
- 52:34Speaker 2: us happy.
- 52:37Speaker 1: They were going to kill you in a horrible way.
- 52:40Speaker 2: When the Rhinoman busted in. I think a lot of
- 52:43Speaker 2: us had a little bit of a revelation.
- 52:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:48Speaker 3: I can't promise anything, but if you're willing to work,
- 52:55Speaker 3: if you go to the shoot, maybe someone from the core.
- 53:00Speaker 3: We'll take you guys in find something for you guys
- 53:03Speaker 3: to do. If you have any skills that would be useful,
- 53:07Speaker 3: that helps. We could someone can get you set up
- 53:12Speaker 3: in a communal living pod. There's options.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, I mean they trained us how to do
- 53:18Speaker 2: this stuff so we can make clothes, fancy clothes. Is
- 53:22Speaker 2: that all you were doing here? Making clothes? Yeah, go
- 53:27Speaker 2: to the chute.
- 53:28Speaker 3: You don't need papers there or anything.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Nothing, nothing else, just making clothes for Gabrielle.
- 53:35Speaker 2: Right, he I was. He looks at all the people.
- 53:42Speaker 2: I was kind of the I don't know his foreman, Yeah,
- 53:47Speaker 2: foreman he talked most to me. He deals with people
- 53:55Speaker 2: in the city that are no good but sometimes they
- 53:59Speaker 2: need to be dressed nice and he can give them
- 54:03Speaker 2: a good price because us. Either of you know this, Gavrielle, No, I.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Just give a small nod. I look back to the
- 54:11Speaker 4: man who's been speaking with us. What about those other
- 54:14Speaker 4: men who were here? Have you seen them often?
- 54:18Speaker 2: Yeah? Sometimes, those are the guys that he dresses up.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Do you know anything about them?
- 54:22Speaker 2: He shakes his head. No, okay, Gavrielle's got an office, though,
- 54:26Speaker 2: you should check it out.
- 54:28Speaker 4: They were leaving, so I don't know if they they
- 54:31Speaker 4: might have taken things, they might have deleted things. I
- 54:36Speaker 4: just immediately start searching the electricity in the building to
- 54:39Speaker 4: lead me towards like a computer in office, that kind
- 54:42Speaker 4: of thing.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Mm hm.
- 54:43Speaker 2: As you do that, as you start to search, the
- 54:46Speaker 2: gentleman you've been talking to comes up to you, Jimir,
- 54:48Speaker 2: and he just says, is there anybody I should talk
- 54:52Speaker 2: to specifically in the shoot or he said, the core?
- 54:55Speaker 2: Where did I find them?
- 54:58Speaker 3: It won't be hard. They run things over there. They're
- 55:02Speaker 3: not perfect, but they'll get your work. If you work,
- 55:06Speaker 3: they'll get your food, place to sleep, get you set up. Okay,
- 55:10Speaker 3: we're just gonna let them go. He said they were
- 55:13Speaker 3: criminals too. I mean, I kind of look at these huddled,
- 55:18Speaker 3: scared people and say, I'm.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Okay letting them go.
- 55:25Speaker 4: We do.
- 55:26Speaker 1: I calls I'm running.
- 55:27Speaker 2: You get off free this time if I see you
- 55:31Speaker 2: again as part of the city. Got you right on
- 55:35Speaker 2: the dick. Okay, hey, get this guy away from me.
- 55:39Speaker 4: What the hell.
- 55:41Speaker 2: He comes up to you, Jimmy one more time, and
- 55:44Speaker 2: he says, Okay, I'll try to lead as many of
- 55:46Speaker 2: these people out of here as I can. We'll take
- 55:48Speaker 2: them to the station. But there's something you should know.
- 55:52Speaker 2: None of us got here on accident. There's a like
- 55:56Speaker 2: a food bank. They tell us come there for a
- 56:01Speaker 2: night's sleep, come there for a warm meal, and then
- 56:05Speaker 2: they choose certain of us to bring here or other
- 56:08Speaker 2: places in the city. It's on the north side, all right,
- 56:14Speaker 2: of course, Yeah, in between right on the line, I ask,
- 56:19Speaker 2: and kono. It's connected to the Catholic church there. Thank
- 56:24Speaker 2: you for telling us this. Yeah, He turns around to
- 56:27Speaker 2: everybody and says, hey, everybody, we got a plan. Now
- 56:30Speaker 2: we had food and work here. They say, there's another
- 56:33Speaker 2: place we could give food and work.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Follow me.
- 56:37Speaker 2: He's gonna make his own glory check to try to
- 56:40Speaker 2: get people to follow him.
- 56:42Speaker 1: What was his name.
- 56:44Speaker 2: I don't know if he said, but his name is Robbie.
- 56:47Speaker 2: Come on. Robbie rolled a four. Everyone else rolled a
- 56:50Speaker 2: two against this, So he is going to lead a
- 56:56Speaker 2: good number of these people out of here and towards
- 56:59Speaker 2: the shoot.
- 57:00Speaker 4: Ok.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Quanta, you sense the energy in the building, Go ahead
- 57:05Speaker 2: and roll a vision check plus your sense. This is
- 57:09Speaker 2: an average check for you.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Three three.
- 57:13Speaker 2: That's a failure. You don't sense a computer. You don't sense.
- 57:19Speaker 2: I mean you can sense the rooms, you can see
- 57:22Speaker 2: where there are doors, but nothing stands out. Ah.
- 57:26Speaker 4: I am feeling the pain of where bullets hit me.
- 57:32Speaker 4: I'm feeling and noticing, like the adrenaline still pumping through
- 57:36Speaker 4: my body, and as much as I tried to drown
- 57:41Speaker 4: it out, all the emotions present during that, the rhino
- 57:45Speaker 4: man's grief at killing the pigeon man, our anxiety, and
- 57:53Speaker 4: I just fall to my niece wherever I am.
- 57:57Speaker 1: In the building.
- 58:17Speaker 2: Do any of the people, are there any of them left?
- 58:20Speaker 2: They've all followed Robbie away. There's a few that are
- 58:24Speaker 2: just kind of hanging out. You see, a crowd does
- 58:26Speaker 2: go out the whole, but then also some of them
- 58:30Speaker 2: split off and don't follow the group. But you could
- 58:33Speaker 2: catch someone if you want.
- 58:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I wanna. I want to try and catch someone.
- 58:38Speaker 6: I'll approach someone and kind of away from everyone else
- 58:42Speaker 6: and away from the group. The paper around Jason's mouth
- 58:46Speaker 6: kind of folds away.
- 58:48Speaker 2: Are you okay? Yeah, yeah, I'll be okay. Hey, do
- 58:53Speaker 2: you know if there's an office somewhere here? Yeah, there's
- 58:58Speaker 2: there's If you go out to the front, there's the store,
- 59:02Speaker 2: and there's just a staircase to the left. It takes
- 59:06Speaker 2: you up to the office. I think, thanks, appreciate your help.
- 59:11Speaker 2: And I fold him up a little paper crane and
- 59:13Speaker 2: to him, oh all right bye. My paper refolds around
- 59:17Speaker 2: my face. It's up the stairs. You start like drifting
- 59:22Speaker 2: my feet, don't move. You're just watching my cloaks go
- 59:25Speaker 2: that way towards the office.
- 59:29Speaker 1: Left myself up standing and go up the stairs.
- 59:34Speaker 2: Tamir, what are you doing to me?
- 59:36Speaker 3: Or is kind of watching these people all walking out
- 59:42Speaker 3: is watching the paper Phantom with his powers, just manipulating
- 59:48Speaker 3: these things around him. I definitely am like checking my
- 59:52Speaker 3: do Rag and Pandana, making sure that my face is
- 59:56Speaker 3: somewhat obscured as I'm kind of observing when when when
- 59:59Speaker 3: I get a lull, I do want to try to
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: walk up to Quanta or to this day woman.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: So yeah, you follow them up the they both gone
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: up to the office. You follow them up there.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just kind of watching and following at a distance,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: but I definitely don't want to like lose lose them.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: I definitely want to like talk to them a little more.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Right. Yeah, you you walk up to Quanta as you
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: guys open the office door.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Hey, hey, I don't know what's going on here, but
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: thank you for your help with all that insanity.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: Yeah that was I put my hand tentatively on his shoulder.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: I don't know who you are, but I'm really really glad.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: You showed up.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Same. Sorry, I don't know how to do this, but
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: who are you?
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: I'm a dead odd That was? That was That was
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: really weird.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: Let's let's uh, let's see what's going on here and
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: then maybe we all could go somewhere we could talk.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, okay, I'll let you guys go ahead. I
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: gotta step back and let the rifle through this office. Yeah,
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: I am going to the office. What are we What
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: are we see in here? There's a nice desk. It's
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: not that fancy or elaborate.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: The downstairs is very beautiful and like beautiful mannequins and
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: beautiful clothes. Up here, it's very simple. It's just a desk.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: There is filing cabinets that seemed to keep some sort
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: of ledger of what has gone on? What are you
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: guys looking for?
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: I'm gonna run my hand over the desk and the
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: file cabinets, and I want to try and sense all
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: the paper paper, Give me that, Give you that paper,
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: tell me what's on that paper?
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Is there? And seek and it's not a paper?
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: WHOA, I didn't know you were a what's I called
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: an auctioneer?
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: Gone on, going to the paper going. I got a
- 1:02:12Speaker 8: three three beds walls. If I do see six, roll
- 1:02:16Speaker 8: an investigation check plus your paper. This is wait, hold
- 1:02:23Speaker 8: on before you do that.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Okay. I could roll a difficult check, or I could
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: roll a challenging check. M O.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: I love a gamble.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go for it. Let's go crazy. Why not
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: so difficult? Difficult? It's the harder one. Oh sorry, that's
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: what I want. Okay, So I'm rolling a D twelve. Okay,
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: got a D eight and a D four.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: Okay, this I believe, according to math, you have the advantage.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: I should, but I didn't do great three I rolled ten. Ah,
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: don't come on, man, you stand in here. Both of
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: you have used your powers to try to gain information.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: You stand here, run your hands across the paper, paper, phantom.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: You realize that quantus fear has been realized, that they're
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: the important. Stuff has been taken, and you don't gain
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: anything other than numbers for imports and kind of a
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: track of what has been spent and what has been sold,
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: et cetera.
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: Damn it, slam my fist down on the desk. What
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: It's just a bunch of numbers gobbledygook as far as
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: I can tell.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: While they're kind of looking through this, Yeah, Jamir's gonna
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: just quietly step out the office, throw down a flight star,
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: and I'm gonna hover down over to where the rhinoman is. Yeah,
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: do I see some kind of chains? I want to
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: try to tie him up in some way. Yeah, while
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: he's knocked out. Yeah, there are definitely chains around. Go
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: ahead and make a street Smart's check to tie him
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: up good with chaino cool. Yeah, I'm gonna try to
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: use my strength and my ingenuity to tie this guy up.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: It's a challenging check. I rolled a D ten.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: I also rolle a D ten on my Street Smarts.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: I got a six. I rolled a three. Hey, you're
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: able to tie him up. You feel pretty secure about
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: it while you're doing so. Make an investigation check on
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: this this monstrosity.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: Okay, let's good at that. I got a three, all right,
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: I also rolled a three. It's a close fail for you.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: You look over this body and nothing really sticks out
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: other than the craziness that it is, you know.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: Yeah, with that is he he like made it outside
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: to the alley, right, I just want to drag him
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: just to be like under a street lamp so that
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: he's seen and hopefully taken care of.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: Yeah. You use the combination of your flight star and
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: your strength to just kind of brute force this giant
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: beast into a street light.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: Yeah, glow, And I think after I do that, I
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: will collect the remains of the Birdman and toss it
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: out there too.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Yeah, he's mostly eviscerated. You find some bones and some feathers, Yeah,
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: some feathers, they're definitely hollow from the wings.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: And again, as someone who's fascinated by superheroes and by
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: this whole world, Yeah, Jamir is like kind of putting
