An empty lot in Milwaukee’s north side is being transformed into the Rufus King Community Garden — a vibrant new source of fresh, affordable produce for struggling families and seniors. What began as a modest plan for twelve garden beds exploded into a major project after Home Depot jumped in, donating $10,000 worth of tools and sending a full crew to build twenty-six beds.
