- 0:00Speaker 1: Kyle, what do we need to know today?
- 0:01Speaker 2: So you know the FAA's job is not just keeping
- 0:04Speaker 2: planes safe in the air. They also regulate how airlines
- 0:06Speaker 2: operate on the ground, especially when boarding procedures can affect safety, accessibility,
- 0:11Speaker 2: evacuation rules, passenger rights. So now they want to completely
- 0:15Speaker 2: rethink how we board airplanes. So they've been studying all
- 0:18Speaker 2: different types of like boarding methods to figure out whether
- 0:21Speaker 2: changing who gets on first and in what order can
- 0:23Speaker 2: actually reduce congestion in the aisles and shorten turnaround times
- 0:27Speaker 2: and make everything safer for everything. I guess the research
- 0:30Speaker 2: they've been doing includes variations on boarding by seat position
- 0:33Speaker 2: rather than the giant groups that we're all used to hearing.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Called at the gate no that makes sense because my
- 0:38Speaker 3: brother and i we were flying over the weekend and
- 0:41Speaker 3: we we literally were watching people come on and it
- 0:44Speaker 3: seemed as if southwest specifically was struggling with the overhead
- 0:47Speaker 3: bin space because i know that it used to be
- 0:49Speaker 3: first come first serve you would go and sit and
- 0:51Speaker 3: put your stuff up but it seems now is with
- 0:53Speaker 3: the new assigned seatings that they're gonna have to revamp all.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Of that so yeah it should be interesting because like
- 0:59Speaker 2: oh my gosh hello hello are you there you guys.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I hear you kyle please keep talking all right Now.
- 1:06Speaker 2: You're like, sorry.
- 1:07Speaker 1: What's happening? Oh, Rich just turned me off. I did not.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I don't understand what's happening. Can you say it again?
- 1:15Speaker 2: So right now you're like boarding group five and everybody
- 1:18Speaker 2: goes up, right? And it's usually by the section of
- 1:21Speaker 2: the airplane that you're on. Now they're talking about maybe
- 1:24Speaker 2: by position. So all aisle seats or all window seats first,
- 1:28Speaker 2: then all middle seats. They want to completely revamp how
- 1:32Speaker 2: everyone does it because they're seeing that it's not super efficient.
- 1:35Speaker 1: You know what happened? Wait, online is a pain. So
- 1:37Speaker 1: my wife and I were on a flight and we
- 1:39Speaker 1: were boarding group eight. And there was another gate obviously
- 1:43Speaker 1: next to ours. And I thought they said boarding group eight.
- 1:45Speaker 1: So I got up and I said, Blake, they're calling us.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Let's go. So we go. And the lady goes, whoa,
- 1:51Speaker 1: hold on a minute. We're not at boarding group eight yet.
- 1:54Speaker 1: And I go, oh, I thought I saw boarding group eight.
- 1:56Speaker 1: She goes, no, you heard wrong. And I go, okay.
- 1:59Speaker 1: And then she goes, boarding group seven. And nobody boarded.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And then she goes, boarding group eight. And I go, here.
- 2:07Speaker 1: The whole time I was standing right there. There was
- 2:10Speaker 1: no board of group seven. There was six. I was
- 2:12Speaker 1: in eight.
- 2:13Speaker 2: And then I had to go. Where did seven go?
- 2:15Speaker 1: There was nobody.
- 2:16Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Netflix, you guys, they are testing something that sounds a
- 2:20Speaker 2: lot more like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. They're experimenting with
- 2:24Speaker 2: more short form vertical videos inside their app. So using
- 2:28Speaker 2: clips from shows and movies that you can just swipe
- 2:30Speaker 2: through to find something to watch. They've played with clips before,
- 2:34Speaker 2: but the bigger push here is making the app increasingly
- 2:36Speaker 2: resemble the endless scroll time. They want you to get
- 2:40Speaker 2: into your like little, I don't know. There's not really
- 2:44Speaker 2: rabbit holes, but like maybe TV rabbit holes different. They
- 2:47Speaker 2: want you to spend more time on the app basically.
- 2:50Speaker 2: In the meantime, Meta knows that a lot of people
- 2:53Speaker 2: find some of their smart glasses a little creepy, right?
- 2:56Speaker 2: So they feel like they've found a workaround. They just
- 2:59Speaker 2: unveiled a new version of their AI glasses without the
- 3:02Speaker 2: outward facing camera. So that's probably the biggest thing.
- 3:06Speaker 1: So people are just.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Filming people without them knowing. And you know, some creeps
- 3:09Speaker 2: were like filming ladies and like, like yeah and so
- 3:12Speaker 2: yeah so they said this there was a lot of
- 3:15Speaker 2: backlash over it so we feel like we are minimizing
- 3:18Speaker 2: and getting rid of the part that everyone found creepy
- 3:19Speaker 2: you still get ai assistance you get audio you get
- 3:22Speaker 2: voice features but removing the camera actually changes that biggest
- 3:25Speaker 2: objection that a lot of people had but yeah rich
- 3:28Speaker 2: it does change but it's.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Also kind of the reason you you personally want the
- 3:31Speaker 1: glasses so you can capture what you're seeing without having
- 3:34Speaker 1: to Hold up a phone.
- 3:36Speaker 2: People aren't ready for everyone to have the spy glasses
- 3:38Speaker 2: right now. The Diamondbacks just made their playoff situation even
- 3:42Speaker 2: more insane. They won last night, keeping their wildcard hopes alive.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Like I said, every win and every loss of all
- 3:47Speaker 2: of the people they're in competition with are keeping us alive.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And we've got five games left in the regular season.
- 3:53Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens there. If you've ever driven
- 3:56Speaker 2: from Phoenix to Vegas, you know that part in Kingman
- 3:58Speaker 2: where suddenly everybody gets backed up at that light. Well,
- 4:01Speaker 2: they're finally getting rid of it. There is a huge
- 4:04Speaker 2: new interchange. It's about 80% finished right now. Once it's
- 4:07Speaker 2: done next year, you'll just be able to go straight
- 4:09Speaker 2: between I-40 and US-93 with ramp without like ramps.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You don't have to stop at the light, like no
- 4:14Speaker 1: more light.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It's pretty amazing. They've actually already opened part of it,
- 4:18Speaker 2: including like a massive new tunnel. So our Vegas road
- 4:21Speaker 2: trips are officially getting closer to being a little less annoying,
- 4:24Speaker 2: which I'm all for.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yes, that drive is not fun.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I know.
- 4:27Speaker 2: This will make it a lot easier, a lot smoother. Like,
- 4:29Speaker 2: just go, go, go.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And that's what you need to know. Also, go on.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Guess who's going to see that interchange for himself on Saturday?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Of course.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Are you kidding me?
- 4:38Speaker 2: Of course.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Are you serious? How far of a drive is that
- 4:42Speaker 3: for you just to see the interchange open?
- 4:44Speaker 2: You're just going?
- 4:45Speaker 1: I'm not even going from the West Valley. I'll be
- 4:46Speaker 1: going from the East Valley because I'm staying at a
- 4:48Speaker 1: friend's house. So you're going to go up there and
- 4:50Speaker 1: they're going to go, okay, row's open now. You're going
- 4:53Speaker 1: to go, yeah!
- 4:55Speaker 3: A party, guys.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Will you please film it? Can you please post it?
- 4:57Speaker 1: I'd like to see a video of that. Bring us
- 4:59Speaker 1: back a t-shirt. Thank you.
