- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magi Jadge ninety four nine.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Welcome to another episode of Scotty Abbey Unfiltered. I feel
- 0:07Speaker 2: like this is going to be a train wreck because
- 0:09Speaker 2: we are coming off of a wild Saint Patti's Day night,
- 0:14Speaker 2: well at least half of us in this room. It
- 0:16Speaker 2: was a wild night, and I want to recap it.
- 0:17Speaker 2: But I also in the studio, Abby You said this
- 0:20Speaker 2: phrase that I feel like I'm getting older because there
- 0:24Speaker 2: are phrases that are being thrown out that I have
- 0:27Speaker 2: absolute no idea what they mean, where they started, who
- 0:31Speaker 2: started it, and why it's even a thing. So I
- 0:34Speaker 2: do want to dive into that as well. But I
- 0:36Speaker 2: want to do a recap on Saint Patti's Day because
- 0:38Speaker 2: this is the first time Abby you and I got
- 0:39Speaker 2: to take over mc ditton's in downtown Tampa over and Soho,
- 0:43Speaker 2: and that usually turns into an S show.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Really Yeah, it was surprisingly specifically at mcdnton's, which if
- 0:50Speaker 1: you're like, what's mcdentton's, it's like the US of you
- 0:53Speaker 1: Tampa Irish bar.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yeah, like that's where the college kids go, Like you
- 0:57Speaker 2: go to SOHO. It's going to be the college kids
- 0:59Speaker 2: majority yeah, and there's some of us older folks that
- 1:01Speaker 2: go out there and we have a great time. But yeah,
- 1:03Speaker 2: it's a lot of young'ins.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Yes, it's the under twenty five bar in Tampa. I
- 1:08Speaker 1: mean you can go if you're older. I mean we're
- 1:09Speaker 1: we're not twenty five and I ain't no.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Spring Chicken no more.
- 1:12Speaker 1: But if you look around, the median age is twenty two,
- 1:16Speaker 1: if not younger.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Well here's the thing that's so fascinating to me is
- 1:20Speaker 2: I've been going to that bar one since I was
- 1:22Speaker 2: a college student.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Two.
- 1:24Speaker 2: When I got into radio, I was the young producer
- 1:27Speaker 2: that would go out to mc dittons and they would
- 1:28Speaker 2: give me a bottle and I'd go around the bar
- 1:30Speaker 2: and I'd pour it in everyone's mouth and I turned
- 1:32Speaker 2: all the way up. In those days, I fit right in.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I was the age. I was the perfect age. Every
- 1:39Speaker 2: year they continue to send us back, I continue to
- 1:42Speaker 2: get older, that crowd continues to stay the same, and
- 1:46Speaker 2: so it's always a reminder as soon as I walk in,
- 1:47Speaker 2: I'm like, god, dang man, now I'm getting old. Like
- 1:51Speaker 2: the last time I was there, people were like asking
- 1:53Speaker 2: me when I graduated, and then they would gasp and
- 1:55Speaker 2: when I say I graduated, they're like, that's that's.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Nearly ten years ago.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I'm all right, shut up, what's twenty nineteen.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Let's relax, okay, Because I try to give them wisdom,
- 2:07Speaker 2: because that's what you want to hear at the bar.
- 2:08Speaker 2: You want to hear wisdom from this guy. And when
- 2:11Speaker 2: I did that the last time, I learned immediately that
- 2:13Speaker 2: is not what they're there for. They want no part
- 2:15Speaker 2: of that. And it gives you up immediately that you're
- 2:17Speaker 2: too old to be in that bar.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Oh I felt too old to be there.
- 2:20Speaker 3: You told me yesterday.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I didn't need anybody to tell me I was too
- 2:22Speaker 1: old to be there. I was looking around and I
- 2:24Speaker 1: was like, there's too many fake IDs for me to
- 2:27Speaker 1: be president at this bar. I was like mc loven
- 2:30Speaker 1: to my right, girl with the print out to my left.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I would say, for the holidays, it's probably the best
- 2:38Speaker 2: mixed scene. So we go out there for Gasparilla, we
- 2:42Speaker 2: go out there for Saint Patrick's Day, we go out
- 2:44Speaker 2: there probably you know who knows, Christmas, Thanksgiving, I don't.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Know, Fourth of July, the big holidays.
- 2:50Speaker 2: You'll get a mixed crowd because adults want to go
- 2:52Speaker 2: have a good time too, I say, adults, like these
- 2:54Speaker 2: kids are not adults. But if you go there on
- 2:57Speaker 2: like this upcoming Friday night, all year olds all twenty
- 3:01Speaker 2: two year old, oh, I'm sure very rarely is it
- 3:03Speaker 2: going to be the twenty three year olds? But like,
- 3:04Speaker 2: what were your thoughts as when you're there, like turning
- 3:07Speaker 2: up with these young'ins.
- 3:09Speaker 1: My thoughts were my feet hurt, my lower back hurts.
- 3:14Speaker 1: That drink looks disgusting. Why is that man drinking a
- 3:19Speaker 1: beer out of a shoe? Interesting?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and I almost got in a fight with a guy.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I don't know if you noticed that. I had one
- 3:25Speaker 2: moment where I had to like snap on a dude
- 3:29Speaker 2: because you're dealing with all these you know, very drunk
- 3:33Speaker 2: young adults, and I'm all the way cranked up on entertaining.
- 3:38Speaker 2: So we're walking around with this big old pot of
- 3:39Speaker 2: like gold coins to be able to give out the prizes,
- 3:42Speaker 2: and so I like to go stand in the middle,
- 3:45Speaker 2: of course with the attention, get everyone's attention, and I'm
- 3:47Speaker 2: like giving out the prizes. But I noticed I looked
- 3:50Speaker 2: over as I was about to give out a prize
- 3:53Speaker 2: in this m effort, had his hand up in my
- 3:56Speaker 2: but my bucket, my pot of gold.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Oh I saw that, Yeah yeah, and.
- 4:00Speaker 2: He was like grabbing out prizes. I had to smack
- 4:02Speaker 2: it out of his damn hand.
- 4:03Speaker 1: That was such a small moment. You thought you were
- 4:05Speaker 1: gonna fight him.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I thought I was gonna have to because it could
- 4:07Speaker 2: have been a response where if he's drunk enough to
- 4:10Speaker 2: put his hand into my pot of gold.
- 4:12Speaker 1: He just thought he was being silly and goofy, having
- 4:14Speaker 1: a quirky little time.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't like it. I don't like
- 4:18Speaker 2: those moments. I'm like, are you're ruining the fun for everyone?
- 4:21Speaker 2: Get your hand away from my situation. And so I
- 4:23Speaker 2: had to smack it out of his channd out of
- 4:25Speaker 2: my pot of gold. Well, luckily, you know, nothing even happened.
- 4:28Speaker 2: He continued to move on because I think he realized
- 4:31Speaker 2: how dumb that move was.
- 4:32Speaker 1: No, so dumb.
- 4:33Speaker 2: But there was also a moment where we were like
- 4:34Speaker 2: giving out prizes, and then a lot of these young
- 4:37Speaker 2: dudes started like yelling cusswords in our videos.
- 4:39Speaker 3: As we were giving out prizes. Did you see that?
- 4:41Speaker 1: No? I thought everyone was very well behaved.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Most I would say ninety percent of people.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Nice young gentleman.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Sweet ladies, very sweet ladies, very sweet ladies. I had
- 4:52Speaker 3: a great time talking. We had multiple groups. I would
- 4:54Speaker 3: walk up hang out with us.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Those are moment like moments that I felt cool. I
- 4:57Speaker 2: was like, oh, sweet, Like they don't see us as old.
- 5:00Speaker 2: They see us as peers, maybe like an older brother assistant.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Yea yeah. Like somebody came up to me and they
- 5:03Speaker 1: were like, how did you get into this?
- 5:05Speaker 3: You know?
- 5:05Speaker 1: Can I get your email? I'm looking for an internship.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, she wants to be us. It's so nice.
- 5:10Speaker 1: It is so cool.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And you know what it goes to show is you know, yes,
- 5:13Speaker 2: media has changed, radio has changed. But I'm telling you
- 5:16Speaker 2: one thing, like these are people that are twenty one
- 5:18Speaker 2: to twenty two years old. Every time we go out there,
- 5:21Speaker 2: it is always a holy you guys are on the radio.
- 5:24Speaker 3: What I'm like, thank you.
- 5:26Speaker 2: That's the response that we need to be able to
- 5:27Speaker 2: tell people that are in this building, that are up
- 5:29Speaker 2: in corporate like, young people still want to be a
- 5:31Speaker 2: part of it. You just can't make it hard for
- 5:32Speaker 2: them to be a part of it. Yeah, Like, don't
- 5:34Speaker 2: put up barriers for them to want to listen or
- 5:36Speaker 2: interact and being part of the scene. But I will
- 5:38Speaker 2: give our company credit because that's why they send us
- 5:41Speaker 2: out there. Yeah, like still be in the scene with it.
- 5:43Speaker 2: But I think the mc ditton's part was super fun.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I'm salty. I still didn't get my corn beef. I
- 5:49Speaker 2: was really hoping for that.
- 5:50Speaker 1: You would have had a stomach virus that sent you
- 5:53Speaker 1: into a zembic level.
- 5:54Speaker 3: No, yeah, I have a dude over there that does
- 5:57Speaker 3: all the cooking.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Really Okay, I take that back then.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah, he has a great corn beef. And when I
- 6:02Speaker 2: walked in, I saw him and we dapped up. He's dude,
- 6:04Speaker 2: I'm gonna get you, And they never got me, and
- 6:06Speaker 2: so I never got it.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Well, I was busy.
- 6:09Speaker 2: We were giving out stuff the whole time, but I
- 6:10Speaker 2: would say the whole day in general, that was a
- 6:13Speaker 2: huge highlight.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I thought it was a huge win.
- 6:15Speaker 2: And as I was walking in the hallway just now,
- 6:17Speaker 2: I thought, I'm so grateful to be able to work
- 6:19Speaker 2: with you and Alexia.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Those events I have the most fun.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you were having a great time.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I like to turn on.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Alexi and I were just your bottle girls, Like Scotty's
- 6:28Speaker 1: out there running the mic doing exactly what you would
- 6:30Speaker 1: expect Scotty to do. Be like, my god, let's get
- 6:32Speaker 1: that prices good. And Alexi and I are just standing
- 6:35Speaker 1: there tits out with our neutral neutrals like a like
- 6:39Speaker 1: a white claw with our big cardboard cutouts of the
- 6:42Speaker 1: neutral cans, and we're like, that's right. Going around asking
- 6:46Speaker 1: all the college dudes about their raunchiest memory, trying to
- 6:49Speaker 1: get some social clips.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I'm curious on how that went, because I did see
- 6:53Speaker 2: one first thought. I love like when I look over
- 6:56Speaker 2: and I see y'all like just doing your little chit
- 6:58Speaker 2: chat thing, I'm like, look at our just doing the
- 7:01Speaker 2: thing like the girl chest, you know, like I have
- 7:03Speaker 2: wanted this for so long, where like I work with
- 7:06Speaker 2: people that I truly like being around. We could go out,
- 7:08Speaker 2: the conversations are organic, we like talking to each other.
- 7:11Speaker 3: And then I look over, I'm.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Like, look at that the girls like the girls, girls
- 7:15Speaker 1: are trilling.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I love those moments. But when you all went to
- 7:17Speaker 2: go walk around, like, what were the interactions like? Cause
- 7:19Speaker 2: I saw the first one and you have to meet
- 7:21Speaker 2: this young UK fella and I thought his accent was fake.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest with you, No I saw the
- 7:25Speaker 1: haircut and I immediately clock them. And maybe it's because
- 7:27Speaker 1: I've now become like the London or the UK experts
- 7:30Speaker 1: I go so frequently, but also I just think they
- 7:33Speaker 1: find me. Like it's starting to become a little terrifying.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Like when I was in Nashville in November, I ran
- 7:41Speaker 1: into so many people from the UK that I'm like,
- 7:43Speaker 1: this is uncanny. It's like I have some kind of
- 7:46Speaker 1: weird magnetism where British people are like one of us,
- 7:49Speaker 1: well one of us, so we me and Alexia. Alexia
- 7:53Speaker 1: is the girl who does middays on Magic ninety four
- 7:56Speaker 1: nine and she's like the social media queen. She had
- 7:57Speaker 1: this really cool camera, tiny mic all the so I said,
- 8:00Speaker 1: let's go around, let's get some social clips, Let's ask
- 8:02Speaker 1: them these guys about their raunchiest spring break memory. So
- 8:06Speaker 1: she immediately goes up to this group of guys and
- 8:08Speaker 1: before they say anything, I go, those are some UK
- 8:11Speaker 1: fellas because of the haircut. Do you know what happened
- 8:14Speaker 1: to talking about? It's the Peaky Blinders haircut.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Yeah, where it's kind of it's not a bowl cut,
- 8:18Speaker 2: but it's kind of like a bullcut.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yes, it's it looks like they have one of those
- 8:22Speaker 1: Newsy hats on their head, but instead of a hat,
- 8:25Speaker 1: it's their hair. It's very long in the front, it's
- 8:29Speaker 1: tight yeah on the sides, but then also has like
- 8:32Speaker 1: a rim around it. Yeah, it looks like they're wearing
- 8:35Speaker 1: a Newsy hat. And nobody in America has that haircut.
- 8:39Speaker 1: For good reason. It looks terrible, but it's very specific
- 8:43Speaker 1: to the UK, like that's all, it's the only haircut
- 8:46Speaker 1: the lads have.
- 8:47Speaker 2: It was a good look. The guy that you talked to.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I was like, that's a good looking dude.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Well, I mean he was like nineteen. I was like, hello,
- 8:53Speaker 1: little boy.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Oh see, I thought, there's all right, Well.
- 8:56Speaker 1: This kid he was a child.
- 8:58Speaker 3: He was out drinking with us at least twenty two.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Well, I'm sure they got him like a fake id
- 9:02Speaker 1: or he's like, well I am allowed to drink. That's one.
- 9:05Speaker 1: The other thing is so we're okay, let me get
- 9:06Speaker 1: back on track with the story. So we approached these guys.
- 9:08Speaker 1: They're from the UK, so one of them is from Ireland,
- 9:11Speaker 1: and I'm like, okay, can I interview one of you?
- 9:13Speaker 1: So I'm interviewing this boy. He's probably nineteen twenty maybe
- 9:16Speaker 1: twenty one, and I'm thinking, why are you here? And
- 9:19Speaker 1: he goes, well, we're here for spring break because our
- 9:22Speaker 1: friend as a girlfriend who lives in America. And we're like,
- 9:26Speaker 1: so you decided to come to spring break in Tampa, Florida. Well,
- 9:32Speaker 1: not that there's anything wrong with it, but I'm like,
- 9:35Speaker 1: I'm assuming you all have money, yeah, because if you're
- 9:38Speaker 1: travel break, if you're twenty one, twenty two and you're
- 9:42Speaker 1: flying to Tampa, you have enough disposable income that you're like, yeah,
- 9:46Speaker 1: let's just go to the beach for a week. Why
- 9:48Speaker 1: not to where? I'm like, you're here in Tampa for
- 9:53Speaker 1: spring break? Like what made you want to come here?
- 9:55Speaker 1: And he was just like yeah, like the girlfriend told
- 9:57Speaker 1: us to come stay, and so we did.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I asked on how that girlfriend even happened, because if
- 10:02Speaker 2: they're from the UK, I had to meet some girl
- 10:03Speaker 2: from America.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I had too many follow up questions that I knew
- 10:06Speaker 1: they would be annoyed with me if I started asking them.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I was because I literally there became a point where
- 10:10Speaker 1: I thought, this is boots on the ground journalism. I'm
- 10:13Speaker 1: sitting there going what are you doing here?
- 10:14Speaker 3: This is my degree?
- 10:15Speaker 1: I need the background story, how did they meet? Are
- 10:17Speaker 1: they love? Do we like the girl?
- 10:18Speaker 3: Like?
- 10:19Speaker 1: Those are the questions I wanted.
- 10:20Speaker 3: He's like, I'm just trying to have a pint.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Might no. Literally He's sitting there like, yeah, we just
- 10:24Speaker 1: wanted to come hang out, and I'm.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Like, Okay, that's it.
- 10:27Speaker 1: That's it. But he didn't have any raunchy spring break
- 10:29Speaker 1: memories because he's never had a spring break.
- 10:31Speaker 2: And yeah, I just I hope he gets the craziest
- 10:34Speaker 2: spring break that he's ever gotten.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I hope so too.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Do you remember your first spring break?
- 10:38Speaker 1: So I've never had crazy spring breaks. I mean I
- 10:40Speaker 1: went on a cruise my freshman year, but it was
- 10:43Speaker 1: like when I tell you, I didn't even really drink.
- 10:44Speaker 1: I just kind of like went on this cruise. I
- 10:46Speaker 1: just I was like, I just want to go sit
- 10:47Speaker 1: by the pool and my cruise my name on a cruises.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And then the other two years, none of my friends
- 10:53Speaker 1: wanted to do anything crazy. So I think one year
- 10:55Speaker 1: I went wedding dress shopping with my best friend from
- 10:57Speaker 1: college because her sister was getting married into Charles Dan.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I think that next year we went to Savannah, like
- 11:02Speaker 1: we were really boring objectively.
- 11:05Speaker 2: My first spring break, we went down to Fort Lauderdale,
- 11:07Speaker 2: and if you've ever gone down to like South Beach
- 11:10Speaker 2: in that area of Florida first spring break, it's thousands
- 11:14Speaker 2: of people on the beach at one time, and it
- 11:15Speaker 2: is the craziest thing you will ever see.
- 11:17Speaker 3: It looks like ants on a hill.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Now, don't put me down for that.
- 11:20Speaker 3: It was so fun. I have never been more insane
- 11:23Speaker 3: in my life.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Really, yes, define what what about it made it fun? Ever?
- 11:28Speaker 2: I mean, one, you're sitting at the beach. Everyone's got
- 11:31Speaker 2: there their coolers just packed with just bags upon bags
- 11:36Speaker 2: of that time liquor, and so we all have liquor
- 11:40Speaker 2: in these bags. We're all turning up on the beach.
- 11:42Speaker 2: There's circles that are forming where it's like either people
- 11:44Speaker 2: are wrestling or fighting or doing that football thing where
- 11:47Speaker 2: they go and run and tackle each other. It's also
- 11:50Speaker 2: I think I fell in love on my first spring
- 11:52Speaker 2: break with who well it was the next girlfriend, but
- 11:55Speaker 2: I do remember it was spring break and like, you know,
- 11:57Speaker 2: we're out in the water and we're kind of tipsy,
- 11:59Speaker 2: and those the first time we were like I think
- 12:01Speaker 2: it was the first time I ever truly meant.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I love you.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Well, that's beautiful Scotty on spring break, it was a
- 12:07Speaker 1: beautiful time.
- 12:08Speaker 2: That's all your friends traveled down together. You get this
- 12:12Speaker 2: crappy hotel, you go and try to get into all
- 12:15Speaker 2: the bars, and I will say, you know, the fake
- 12:17Speaker 2: ideas worked. So it was a great time. But also
- 12:21Speaker 2: one of my best Saint Patty's Day of moments was
- 12:23Speaker 2: down in. We went to Fort Lauderdale as well, and
- 12:26Speaker 2: I think it was a I guess I'll use the
- 12:28Speaker 2: word bender.
- 12:30Speaker 3: I don't know if I usually that in my life, but.
- 12:32Speaker 2: We're out all night, bar to bar, chatting up with everybody.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Me and my best friend.
- 12:38Speaker 2: We went out with his older brother and we started
- 12:40Speaker 2: by hopping on a boat, taking a shot, driving down,
- 12:43Speaker 2: hitting a bar right on the water. Everyone got us drinks.
- 12:47Speaker 2: We were eighteen. Oh my god, it was insane. How
- 12:49Speaker 2: did you survive?
- 12:50Speaker 3: I barely did?
- 12:51Speaker 1: The power of love bits a power power baby. So
- 12:55Speaker 1: back to mcdentton. So we interviewed the UK guys. They
- 12:57Speaker 1: gave us nothing. I was like, all right, Chabs, like
- 12:59Speaker 1: we're on to the next and so then we ran
- 13:01Speaker 1: into these girls and I was like, what's the craziest
- 13:04Speaker 1: memory you had? One of them. I think met Bonnie Blue,
- 13:07Speaker 1: not the prostitute.
- 13:08Speaker 2: The only fans mone the girl that's had intercourse with
- 13:11Speaker 2: hundreds of.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Dute She said that allegedly she was hooking up in
- 13:15Speaker 1: the bathroom wherever she was, which I don't know.
- 13:17Speaker 3: That sounds like the fakest story I've ever heard.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Then there was another guy who wouldn't talk to me
- 13:21Speaker 1: unless I gave him my neutral. So I gave him
- 13:23Speaker 1: my neutral and then he drank it and was like, Yeah,
- 13:25Speaker 1: my ex girlfriend's watching this like I still love you.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Oh my god, it's so.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Sweet, it's so funny.
- 13:31Speaker 2: We got to post that one. We can hook those
- 13:33Speaker 2: two back up together.
- 13:34Speaker 1: No, we're gonna yeah. I don't know that she would
- 13:37Speaker 1: want to get back with them based off my interaction
- 13:39Speaker 1: with him. M what do you think that the red
- 13:40Speaker 1: flag he was he was going through something. The fact
- 13:42Speaker 1: that he took your neutral, h instead of buying you
- 13:44Speaker 1: a neutral he was going through I mean, he's like nineteen,
- 13:46Speaker 1: These these are children, these are little I looked at
- 13:49Speaker 1: all of these guys.
- 13:50Speaker 3: You're never too young to be a gentleman.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Well, I mean yeah, but when you're nineteen, you're not
- 13:53Speaker 1: thinking how can I take care of this old woman
- 13:55Speaker 1: with the MiCT face.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Well, I know, I know, we act like we're like
- 13:58Speaker 3: geriatric up in here. Yeah, we are still part of
- 14:01Speaker 3: that crowd. We're still part of the crowd.
- 14:02Speaker 1: And so we hung out and then afterwards, what I
- 14:04Speaker 1: thought was so funny was we expected the mcdenton's crowd
- 14:08Speaker 1: to be the craziest with all the twenty twenty one
- 14:11Speaker 1: year olds. Were like, Wow, what shenanigans are these U
- 14:13Speaker 1: Tampa kids going to get into? And nothing happens, I
- 14:16Speaker 1: mean except for like a little bit of booze or whatever.
- 14:19Speaker 1: The real trouble came when we went to.
- 14:21Speaker 3: What's that bar called the called Dublinder.
- 14:24Speaker 1: We went to Dublinder way more chill, kind of empty.
- 14:27Speaker 1: We sit down. It's the kind of place that doesn't
- 14:29Speaker 1: even have soda. Like I asked for a Coke zero
- 14:31Speaker 1: and they were like, we don't, girl, we don't have that.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Just beer and wine.
- 14:34Speaker 1: It's just beer and wine. And so I'm like, okay.
- 14:37Speaker 1: So I'm sitting down and we can tell that something
- 14:40Speaker 1: is a miss with this older woman who was at
- 14:44Speaker 1: this bar, because she's in the corner yelling Joe Joe
- 14:48Speaker 1: over at the table behind us, and I'm not thinking
- 14:52Speaker 1: that much of it at first because she's on her phone,
- 14:54Speaker 1: and I'm like, maybe they're in a little bit of
- 14:56Speaker 1: a tiff. They've got to like contact somebody about something.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I don't know, cars extended warranty. And then all of
- 15:03Speaker 1: a sudden, Alexia, who's wearing this fabulous fur coat, recoils
- 15:10Speaker 1: and I looked to my left and the table behind
- 15:13Speaker 1: us is in the middle of a drink throwing fight.
- 15:16Speaker 3: It was insane. Well, she was walking away. She looks
- 15:19Speaker 3: at this guy and she's like, I'm done, takes her
- 15:24Speaker 3: entire cup her beer, shucks it at him, so the
- 15:27Speaker 3: drink goes flying.
- 15:28Speaker 1: The funniest part is the guy was so undeterred.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Well yeah, he looked at her so calm, but also
- 15:34Speaker 3: very rude. He's like, you're a right, He's like, we've
- 15:38Speaker 3: been here before.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Yeah, It's like that definitely wasn't the first time, because
- 15:40Speaker 2: he literally just sat there, said that and then went
- 15:43Speaker 2: back to talking to his friends, literally sitting there so often.
- 15:45Speaker 2: She stormed off into the bar, and we're just like,
- 15:49Speaker 2: what the hell just happened.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I've never seen that happen in real life, So we're
- 15:53Speaker 1: sitting there watching this unbothered king, and I'm actually like
- 15:55Speaker 1: a little afraid. I'm like, is this woman gonna come
- 15:57Speaker 1: out and like start throwing hands? Are we gonna have
- 16:00Speaker 1: to hold her back? So the whole group in the
- 16:02Speaker 1: corner is sitting in the corner in the just in
- 16:04Speaker 1: their little trio, undeterred, securities, walking around going what do
- 16:08Speaker 1: we do? What do we do? What do we do?
- 16:10Speaker 1: She comes back around? What did she say when she
- 16:13Speaker 1: came back around? Do you remember this?
- 16:15Speaker 3: Well? I think she just walked back up into the group,
- 16:18Speaker 3: and you know, it was just kind of mumbling words,
- 16:20Speaker 3: and we're like, are they they're good, They're they're back?
- 16:23Speaker 1: Yeah, because she threw the drink and then there was
- 16:25Speaker 1: no escalation after that.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yeah, like it because we thought security was gonna kick
- 16:29Speaker 2: him out.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But then something else happened, like somebody somebody got upset,
- 16:33Speaker 1: because then she ran out of the bar.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Well, yeah, she ran out, and then her the other
- 16:37Speaker 2: girl at the table, was.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Like, I'm going to beat your ass. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 16:41Speaker 3: beat your ass right now.
- 16:43Speaker 1: There was a skirmish, and so the whole time I'm
- 16:45Speaker 1: thinking what is going on? Also terrified for my life? Oh, yeah,
- 16:47Speaker 1: like slightly. So finally, there's so the people sitting at
- 16:50Speaker 1: the table. It's the guy who got the drink thrown
- 16:52Speaker 1: on him, there's the woman that was yelling, and then
- 16:56Speaker 1: the other woman that was sitting next to I'm assuming
- 16:59Speaker 1: her husband. So there's four people in total. Looks like
- 17:01Speaker 1: it's two couples, and.
- 17:02Speaker 3: They look like they're in their fifties or sixties.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Sixties for sure, yeah, if not seventies is an old.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Which also made it very interesting because again we were
- 17:08Speaker 3: at mcitt's. There's twenty one year olds. Everyone's very peaceful,
- 17:10Speaker 3: very calm.
- 17:12Speaker 2: We go over to the Calmes bar you could go
- 17:13Speaker 2: to on Soho and it's the sixty year olds that
- 17:16Speaker 2: are throwing dress on each.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Other like they're literally fine.
- 17:18Speaker 3: So heck.
- 17:19Speaker 1: The other woman, the one that didn't throw the drink,
- 17:22Speaker 1: is totally fine. She comes over and I'm like, cro
- 17:24Speaker 1: what happened, Like what's the situation? And she just kept
- 17:27Speaker 1: going I'm gonna beat her ass, I'm gonna beat I'm like, okay,
- 17:30Speaker 1: that's great. The people want answers, and Scottie, I think
- 17:35Speaker 1: has this interaction between me and the other woman that
- 17:38Speaker 1: was at the table on tape because I was thinking,
- 17:40Speaker 1: I'm Diane Sawyer. I'm getting the answers for the people.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Trying to get all the tea.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I'm trying to get it up on the laptop, but
- 17:48Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be able to get it just yet.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I'll stall for a second. So again, just to reiterate,
- 17:53Speaker 1: this is two couples. One woman has thrown a beer
- 17:58Speaker 1: on a guy. He's undeterred. There's another woman that's like,
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna beat this woman's ass, the one that threw
- 18:04Speaker 1: the drink. And then there's a man that's just there.
- 18:06Speaker 1: He's just there and I and We're sitting there now
- 18:10Speaker 1: huddled up with this other woman, not the one that
- 18:12Speaker 1: threw the drink, and I'm like, what happened? What occurred
- 18:16Speaker 1: in this moment? We'll call her Nancy. She looked like
- 18:18Speaker 1: a Nancy to me.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I know, we never got anybody's names. And then like
- 18:21Speaker 2: when they got kicked out, what was so fascinating is
- 18:23Speaker 2: that they literally all walked out together.
- 18:26Speaker 1: They did, And so I'm like, are they going to
- 18:28Speaker 1: the swingers bar after this? Like, dude, they Because I
- 18:33Speaker 1: was joking with Alexia that oh wait, no, I can't
- 18:36Speaker 1: even I can't. I can't reveal because it does she
- 18:39Speaker 1: give answers in this audio. I don't want to.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I don't think so. I think she just actually played
- 18:43Speaker 3: the audience.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Boyfriend's girl friend.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Yeah, what does that mean? Her boy friends girl?
- 18:51Speaker 1: She texted her?
- 18:53Speaker 3: Did she tell me?
- 18:55Speaker 1: Why?
- 18:56Speaker 3: Don't tell y'all her?
- 18:58Speaker 1: Why would be done?
- 19:00Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Who's the girl friend? Is she is? She is her girlfriend,
- 19:08Speaker 1: and she his girlfriend me and he's another do you
- 19:18Speaker 1: know the boyfriend about?
- 19:22Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 19:22Speaker 1: So for context, it's me the not the woman who
- 19:26Speaker 1: threw the drink and everybody else. We're all standing in
- 19:28Speaker 1: this huddle and like two other guys who were trying
- 19:30Speaker 1: to eavesdrop and I was trying to get the tea
- 19:31Speaker 1: for them too, absolutely, and I'm looking at her. I'm like,
- 19:34Speaker 1: what's going on? And she goes, well, she texted his
- 19:38Speaker 1: girlfriend and she shouldn't have. And I was like, who
- 19:42Speaker 1: texted who? And he she was like, his girlfriend texted
- 19:45Speaker 1: his other girlfriend and she shouldn't have. And I was like,
- 19:48Speaker 1: so who's the girlfriend? I was like, which one is
- 19:51Speaker 1: the main girlfriend? Who shouldn't have texted who? And when
- 19:54Speaker 1: I asked her because I think in a couple of
- 19:56Speaker 1: minutes after that, I go, so, who's the main girlfriend?
- 19:58Speaker 1: She goes, well, and some as soon. I mean the
- 20:00Speaker 1: girlfriend we saw was the main girlfriend. Making assumption.
- 20:04Speaker 3: It's a good assumption that I'm makingt Why else would
- 20:06Speaker 3: you be mad that, yes, I'm making thrupple assumptions.
- 20:09Speaker 1: She texted the other girlfriend, who I guess lives in Texas,
- 20:12Speaker 1: and she wasn't supposed to unclear as to why the
- 20:16Speaker 1: other woman wants to.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Beat her rest, That's exactly what I'm wondering. I'm like,
- 20:18Speaker 2: oh wait, how does she even have the other girlfriend's number? Yes,
- 20:21Speaker 2: and if it's that close, why is it a big
- 20:23Speaker 2: deal if she's texting her?
- 20:24Speaker 1: Because they know about each other too, Because that's the
- 20:27Speaker 1: other thing. I was like, they know about each other?
- 20:28Speaker 1: And she goes, yes, they know about each other. And
- 20:30Speaker 1: so I was like, so should he have both girlfriends?
- 20:32Speaker 1: And she was like no. So I'm not sure. I
- 20:36Speaker 1: had no idea this guy could get it. I mean,
- 20:38Speaker 1: he just looks like every day Joe Schmoe. It's not
- 20:40Speaker 1: like we're looking at Ricky Bobby or oh no.
- 20:42Speaker 2: This man just looked like a normal dude. But sometimes
- 20:45Speaker 2: it's all it's all about the words.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Dwindling resources. Scotty. This is the state of our society.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Romance, sparks and mysterious ways. But that's why they all
- 20:53Speaker 2: walked out together. And it's like, I think they're fine.
- 20:55Speaker 1: That's what I mean is I was telling her Alexey,
- 20:57Speaker 1: I was like, what if this is what if they
- 20:59Speaker 1: do this at multiple bars? This is their foreplay.
- 21:02Speaker 3: That's how they get off.
- 21:03Speaker 1: That's how they get off. Like they love like a
- 21:04Speaker 1: big scene. They love the attention. They're old. No one
- 21:06Speaker 1: really pays attention to them at bars, but if they
- 21:09Speaker 1: make a scene, it gets them all like rouled up.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Because they literally just went home together. They all walked
- 21:13Speaker 1: very peacefully.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Well like got kicked out and then they kept going
- 21:16Speaker 2: down the street together. I do you know, I think
- 21:19Speaker 2: it's a when you set yourself up to be the
- 21:22Speaker 2: attention in a bar or in a restaurant.
- 21:24Speaker 3: I actually love that.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Whenever I find Milady and I do like the whole
- 21:29Speaker 2: proposal thing, I'll probably recreate that proposal ten times to
- 21:33Speaker 2: get like the free bottle of champagne, the free dinner
- 21:35Speaker 2: at a restaurant. I think that's genius and that's like
- 21:38Speaker 2: you and your partner again.
- 21:39Speaker 3: I don't think we're gonna have a public fight for attention. Maybe.
- 21:42Speaker 3: I don't know, Spicy, you just try it out se
- 21:44Speaker 3: if it works, might probably will.
- 21:46Speaker 1: But I just love to fight men for fun like
- 21:48Speaker 1: this is. That's how I came to the conclusion. I
- 21:50Speaker 1: was like, they probably enjoy this.
- 21:51Speaker 2: You should have stayed out with us then, because then
- 21:53Speaker 2: after that, Abby immediately was talking to Alexia and then by.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I've forgotten that I called my uber and I
- 22:00Speaker 1: was like, oh, shoot, I have to run, and so
- 22:02Speaker 1: I literally just went.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Everyone thought you were mad at us.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Really yeah.
- 22:05Speaker 3: At first I was like no, no, no, I think she
- 22:07Speaker 3: just had to go. I think.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But I told Alexia that I called my uber.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Yeah, she had to pop it and be like, oh,
- 22:11Speaker 3: no her uber.
- 22:11Speaker 1: So that's what you meant when you said you guys
- 22:13Speaker 1: were talking shit.
- 22:14Speaker 3: No, no, no, we weren't talking shit.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I was like no, no, everyone, I waved on my
- 22:18Speaker 1: way out, I said bye, but no, I told Alexi.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I was like, fuck, my uber's here.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Well, I thought something happened on the street because we
- 22:24Speaker 2: were all just sitting there talking and then Abby went
- 22:26Speaker 2: running through us and then went to the street, and
- 22:28Speaker 2: I was like, oh, my god, what happened?
- 22:31Speaker 1: She got in the car, she gone, No, I literally
- 22:33Speaker 1: called it. I forgot about it, and then I was taught.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Me and Alexia were getting into a deep conversation about
- 22:37Speaker 1: a collaboration we're going to do for Tampa nice and
- 22:41Speaker 1: I was sitting there. I was like, oh fuck, I
- 22:42Speaker 1: have to go. And so I literally was like, this
- 22:43Speaker 1: guy's been waiting for like five minutes. I'm going to
- 22:45Speaker 1: get the cancelation fee and then have to wait another
- 22:47Speaker 1: twenty minutes.
- 22:48Speaker 3: It was the responsible thing to do.
- 22:49Speaker 1: It was, But no, I wasn't mad.
- 22:50Speaker 3: You guys okay, good, because I was like, do we
- 22:52Speaker 3: do something wrong?
- 22:53Speaker 1: No. I was tired. I needed to go home. I
- 22:55Speaker 1: had things to do. And then I went home and
- 22:57Speaker 1: I still didn't sleep, and I didn't do any work
- 22:58Speaker 1: until like ten.
- 22:59Speaker 3: So that's what I was.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Because we came into DA. I'm like, I was out
- 23:01Speaker 2: till midnight. I'm destroyed right now.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I should be so well arrested. I'm not.
- 23:06Speaker 3: You should have been.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I gotten bed at like a reasonable hour and I
- 23:09Speaker 1: could not sleep and I don't know why.
- 23:11Speaker 2: What's the Joh, my gosh, there's a joke that somebody
- 23:13Speaker 2: said at the Matt Rife showed, It's like, well, have
- 23:15Speaker 2: you tried to take melatonin?
- 23:16Speaker 1: Yeah? I do take I like snort melotonin every night.
- 23:19Speaker 3: It doesn't do anything.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Well, no, I'd love melotonin. But the thing is last
- 23:22Speaker 1: night is I'm so tired that I was like, I
- 23:24Speaker 1: don't want to double up on my tiredness and now
- 23:27Speaker 1: consume some melotonin. I guess what I ended up doing
- 23:29Speaker 1: around midnight? Take melotonin.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Oh, you took it way too late.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Well I know, but I mean I normally take it earlier.
- 23:35Speaker 1: But yeah, this is boring. Yeah, yea sleepabbits. Yeah, I'm like,
- 23:39Speaker 1: and then normally are taken at nine so that I'm
- 23:41Speaker 1: sleepy by two.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Well, the rest of the night actually was super fun
- 23:45Speaker 2: because we kept going. We went to the Corner Bar
- 23:47Speaker 2: and Soho and that was awesome, and we met this
- 23:49Speaker 2: awesome dog named Pepper who had a sweater on. And
- 23:52Speaker 2: then we also went down to Irish thirty one in
- 23:55Speaker 2: Hyde Park in Tampa.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Who knew there were so many Irish bars.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Here's something I want to bring up with you though,
- 24:00Speaker 2: because I was kind of I had so many good
- 24:02Speaker 2: moments of like Scott's learning, Scott's growing, So we were
- 24:08Speaker 2: out with the girl that I've been seeing.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Okay, we need a name for her. What would you
- 24:13Speaker 1: like to I think you should call her.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I'm just gonna go off of base anything you say.
- 24:20Speaker 1: This is fun. No, no, I can't fuck it up now.
- 24:23Speaker 3: This is big because this is going to be what
- 24:24Speaker 3: it sticks to.
- 24:25Speaker 1: On the Bird Show, we would just if we didn't
- 24:26Speaker 1: want to see someone saying, we would just say, my lady,
- 24:29Speaker 1: So you're out with your lady.
- 24:30Speaker 3: How's out with my lady?
- 24:31Speaker 1: But that does that feel too committed to you?
- 24:34Speaker 2: I mean to be honest, I love it because I
- 24:36Speaker 2: think this is where this story's going.
- 24:38Speaker 1: I know you, like you're like obsessed with this girl.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Okay, obsessed with this. You might listen?
- 24:41Speaker 1: Not he does, Okay, she does listen.
- 24:44Speaker 3: You know that for sure?
- 24:45Speaker 1: Well no, I just know that we'd listen. I just
- 24:46Speaker 1: know that, like if my boyfriend had a podcast.
- 24:49Speaker 3: I would listen, because now you're calling me the boyfriend.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Well yeah, well anyway, we I think we're really what's
- 24:55Speaker 2: awesome is so he.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Was out with his lady.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I was out with my lady, and we wanted this
- 24:59Speaker 2: bar at Iris thirty one, and we all of a
- 25:00Speaker 2: sudden we see like a friend that she hasn't seen
- 25:03Speaker 2: in five years.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Well, I know she works in Tampa. I don't remember
- 25:09Speaker 3: her name.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Is it Amanda?
- 25:10Speaker 3: No? I don't think so.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Maybe are we talking about a mutual that we know
- 25:15Speaker 1: who works.
- 25:15Speaker 3: No, it wasn't her, it was another girl.
- 25:18Speaker 2: But those What was so interesting is kind of easdropped
- 25:21Speaker 2: and she's asking my lady like, oh, you guys have
- 25:25Speaker 2: been on a couple of dates, and I like here.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Say yeah, And then I maybe it was.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Because I had a couple too many drinks or I
- 25:33Speaker 2: misheard something, but then I swear I heard her friend go, oh, well, I.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Have somebody else I want to introduce you to.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I think she said something like my friend's a cop
- 25:43Speaker 2: in my heart freaking sank. I was like, are you
- 25:49Speaker 2: eving kidding me?
- 25:50Speaker 1: I'm right here, I am right.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Here, and you're gonna go introduce her to some other dude?
- 25:56Speaker 1: Uh huh? Now how did she respond? Well?
- 26:00Speaker 2: I think I misheard because they walked away for a second,
- 26:04Speaker 2: and then I was like, again, my stomach is just
- 26:07Speaker 2: getting like it feels like it's.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Just getting chopped. I'm like, ow, this this sucks.
- 26:11Speaker 2: This is really weird. But also I get it. We're
- 26:14Speaker 2: just dating. Nothing's like, you know, official, nobody's committed. But
- 26:19Speaker 2: I'm sitting there like, god damn it. So the side
- 26:22Speaker 2: tangent to this is I was like, Wow, I'm way
- 26:25Speaker 2: in like I like this girl a lot because that hurts.
- 26:30Speaker 2: But then I looked over and the two are just chatting,
- 26:32Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, wait a second. Maybe I misheard it,
- 26:35Speaker 2: maybe I misunderstood, but it gave me a little insight
- 26:38Speaker 2: that I was like, Okay, it's time to start actually,
- 26:41Speaker 2: you know, maybe taking this klucking it down, maybe just
- 26:45Speaker 2: having some deeper conversations.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I'm Scott, I'm want to be single for a whole year.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Well, we get back, and I think then the girl
- 26:53Speaker 2: got on my team because she's asking us how we met, Yeah,
- 26:56Speaker 2: what is our little foundation story?
- 26:59Speaker 3: And what I love is that it just came to life.
- 27:02Speaker 3: You know, she's sharing, I'm sharing.
- 27:04Speaker 2: It's very expressive, it's super fun, it's super warm. But
- 27:08Speaker 2: it was also a massive moment, and her and I
- 27:10Speaker 2: talked about this at the end of the night. I
- 27:11Speaker 2: was like, holy crap, Like, yeah, we've seen each other
- 27:14Speaker 2: a couple times. It feels very mutual on how we
- 27:15Speaker 2: feel about each other. But now we've entertangled friend groups.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Like now like you and Alexi have gotten to talk
- 27:22Speaker 2: to her, my roommate's gotten to talk to her, her
- 27:25Speaker 2: friend group has started to talk to me. I'm like,
- 27:27Speaker 2: that is another level to this whole thing.
- 27:29Speaker 1: It's serious.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Like if you don't think somebody's serious, you don't introduce
- 27:32Speaker 2: some to your friends. So that's where my head was, like,
- 27:36Speaker 2: you know what, let me get out of my own
- 27:38Speaker 2: way and not assume other things, you know, like assume
- 27:41Speaker 2: our friend was trying to meet her, give her another
- 27:44Speaker 2: guy to talk to ya. I was like, maybe that
- 27:45Speaker 2: was a misunderstanding situation which old Scott would have overreacted.
- 27:50Speaker 3: He would have overcorrected.
- 27:51Speaker 1: What would you have done?
- 27:52Speaker 2: He would have gotten jealous, he would have started like
- 27:55Speaker 2: a conversation. I think old Scott, to be honest, probably
- 27:57Speaker 2: would have semi started a fight.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Really, I get are you You're not a fight.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Starter, no, But I used to be very self conscious, okay,
- 28:06Speaker 2: And so even in old relationships and the beginning of
- 28:10Speaker 2: old relationships out of trauma. If I saw the person
- 28:15Speaker 2: I was talking to talking entertaining, and my head quote
- 28:21Speaker 2: unquote flirting with somebody else, Oh, my god, my heart
- 28:24Speaker 2: just gets like crushed, and so back in the day,
- 28:27Speaker 2: I'll just be like stand offish or I would, you know,
- 28:30Speaker 2: shut down. Actually that's a better word for it. Shut
- 28:32Speaker 2: down completely, no effort, no energy.
- 28:35Speaker 3: I'm good. I want to go home. Yeah, this version,
- 28:37Speaker 3: this is where I love new version of Scott.
- 28:39Speaker 2: He hears this all goes down, he processes all of it,
- 28:42Speaker 2: and he's like, you know what, ef Yeah, I'm confident
- 28:45Speaker 2: in who I am and what I bring to the table.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So while they're doing that, I'm gonna go strike up
- 28:49Speaker 2: a conversation with her other friends and so I'm introducing
- 28:52Speaker 2: myself to them.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I'm getting close to them.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I'm understanding their story to really make sure that's like,
- 28:57Speaker 2: I'm good. I know where I stand, I know where
- 29:00Speaker 2: we're at. I feel confident, and if anybody is also
- 29:04Speaker 2: there to entertain, I still think I will beat.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Out that battle. Interesting.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it was such a moment of growth or I
- 29:09Speaker 2: was like, this is what all that work was for
- 29:12Speaker 2: this moment right here at a random Irish bar on
- 29:15Speaker 2: Saint Mattie's tap.
- 29:15Speaker 1: How could does that feel to know that you handled
- 29:17Speaker 1: it better today than you would have a year ago?
- 29:19Speaker 3: Oh?
- 29:19Speaker 2: My god, It's incredible because you know what it also
- 29:21Speaker 2: is is I want to make sure that, let's say
- 29:25Speaker 2: my lady decides that I am somebody that she really
- 29:28Speaker 2: wants to commit to. You have to be willing to
- 29:30Speaker 2: show that growth. We could talk about the hard times
- 29:33Speaker 2: and the moments of weakness in the past, but if
- 29:35Speaker 2: you still carry those things over to right now, then
- 29:37Speaker 2: you're literally showing them that you have not learned anything.
- 29:40Speaker 2: And so in that moment, I was like, thank you,
- 29:43Speaker 2: because I've told her that before. I was like, you know,
- 29:45Speaker 2: as what are some things that have made you mad
- 29:47Speaker 2: in the past, what are some things that have made
- 29:48Speaker 2: me mad? And I've shared that I was like, back
- 29:50Speaker 2: in the day, I used to be a little insecure,
- 29:52Speaker 2: self conscious, jealous, a little jealous big time. But I've
- 29:57Speaker 2: done a lot of work on growing. And let's just
- 29:59Speaker 2: say hypothetic cliche hears this, she will, well, hey, you're
- 30:02Speaker 2: all great. That shows that that part of me is healed.
- 30:07Speaker 2: That shows that that inward voice look at you, I
- 30:10Speaker 2: know it just you don't know you've grown until you're
- 30:13Speaker 2: thrown into a moment that like tests you, Like you
- 30:15Speaker 2: can't just tell the universe, hey, I want to be
- 30:18Speaker 2: more patient, and then when you're in traffic and somebody
- 30:21Speaker 2: cuts you off, that's the test to.
- 30:23Speaker 3: See if you become more like patient. Yeah, that was
- 30:25Speaker 3: me at the bar yesterday.
- 30:26Speaker 2: And so the whole entire day was fantastic and we've
- 30:30Speaker 2: taken it to another level because now we've had friend
- 30:33Speaker 2: groups intertwined.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Wow, it's insane.
- 30:34Speaker 1: You guys should get married tomorrow.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I think I think we are. I think you're invited.
- 30:38Speaker 2: You're listening to this podcast. You're invited to.
- 30:41Speaker 1: I think you're proposing this weekend, and then the weekend
- 30:43Speaker 1: after that, and then the weekend after that, so you
- 30:45Speaker 1: get free drinks.
- 30:45Speaker 3: It is just really enjoyable.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Well, that's so great for you, Scottie.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Savvy.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I love that you've entered your eighth relationship in the
- 30:55Speaker 1: last four four weeks, you.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Know, And I'll probably stop talking about it, Yeah, just
- 31:01Speaker 2: to allow you know.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Some time to go.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I enjoy I ask you about it all the time
- 31:05Speaker 1: because I enjoyed the journey. I like knowing where you're at,
- 31:08Speaker 1: what's going on. Seeing people fall in love is a
- 31:10Speaker 1: beautiful thing.
- 31:10Speaker 3: It's just the cool experience right now.
- 31:12Speaker 2: And it was cool to have everybody to like come
- 31:13Speaker 2: together and like watch friend groups kind of form. And
- 31:15Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, this is so dope, because that's what
- 31:18Speaker 2: you want. Yeah, you want your people to be able
- 31:19Speaker 2: to get along with your people.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Do you think you guys would have ever met if? Like,
- 31:27Speaker 1: would you guys have because I know you guys almost
- 31:29Speaker 1: got set up before I came here.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Semi.
- 31:32Speaker 2: I was told about her, yes, and I followed her
- 31:35Speaker 2: and immediately I was like, oh my god, yeah beautiful.
- 31:39Speaker 2: But she didn't live here, and I was like, Okay,
- 31:41Speaker 2: well I'm gonna find a way. I don't know how,
- 31:44Speaker 2: but you know, my way is like I'll like a
- 31:45Speaker 2: couple of pictures on Instagram and hopefully you notice, you know,
- 31:49Speaker 2: hopefully my friend puts in a good word for me. Eventually,
- 31:51Speaker 2: uh huh.
- 31:53Speaker 3: And then moments just happened that you can't plan for.
- 31:55Speaker 2: And so those are the things that happened because of you,
- 31:58Speaker 2: because of videos, because of things.
- 31:59Speaker 3: I'm like, you know what, I.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Just trust the universe is universing, and so I think
- 32:06Speaker 2: that's you know, as my life takes like a semi posits, figure.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Things out, We'll see what happens in your life.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Happy Yeah nothing. Spoiler alert.
- 32:18Speaker 2: We were also talking before this about one of the
- 32:22Speaker 2: things that we talked about on the show, which was
- 32:25Speaker 2: I think was the hair situation. Oh yeah, it was
- 32:29Speaker 2: the moment where I think majority women deal with this.
- 32:32Speaker 1: So here, yeah. I So, while Scott is falling in
- 32:35Speaker 1: love with a beautiful woman, let's talk about my life,
- 32:38Speaker 1: which is far more interesting, which is finding a new
- 32:41Speaker 1: woman to do my hair and my eyebrows and my
- 32:46Speaker 1: nails and everything else I've talked about. I talked about
- 32:49Speaker 1: this a little bit on my substack of how when
- 32:51Speaker 1: I found out that I was going to have to move,
- 32:53Speaker 1: I was like, fuck, I don't want to have to
- 32:56Speaker 1: find somebody else to do my eyebrows.
- 32:57Speaker 2: You have to find somebody for everything. You gotta go
- 32:59Speaker 2: doctor's appointments, new places I don't even know, get gas, like,
- 33:02Speaker 2: get your hair done.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Like this is the dating that I'm doing. You're dating women,
- 33:05Speaker 1: and I'm also dating women, but I'm not having sex
- 33:08Speaker 1: with them. I'm just paying them yet, Like I'm just
- 33:13Speaker 1: I'm paying for them to do my eyebrows, to do
- 33:15Speaker 1: my hair, and you just it's such a gamble because
- 33:17Speaker 1: you have no idea if you're gonna like it or not,
- 33:19Speaker 1: and no one's gonna do anything atrocious. But once you
- 33:21Speaker 1: get used to your hair being done a certain way,
- 33:24Speaker 1: or then you have to make a small talk with
- 33:26Speaker 1: the hair people again, it's so you have to do
- 33:28Speaker 1: the whole life story.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you get to know them, they get to know you.
- 33:30Speaker 3: So now you have a relationship.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a relationship and you're literally dating them. And
- 33:35Speaker 1: the thing is, like, I'm very I have easy hair
- 33:38Speaker 1: to do, but I'm also particular about it, like I
- 33:41Speaker 1: want you to do it right, And so I will
- 33:43Speaker 1: be very ocd about looking at the instagrams determining if
- 33:48Speaker 1: they can do the type of cut that I do,
- 33:50Speaker 1: do they deal with the type of blonde that I am?
- 33:53Speaker 1: But the thing is you have to still have to
- 33:54Speaker 1: test them out absolutely. And so I got my hair
- 33:57Speaker 1: done by a girl last week and she did a
- 33:59Speaker 1: great job, but I still wanted to like go home
- 34:02Speaker 1: and think, like, do let me see how how the
- 34:04Speaker 1: hair feels when I go home, Do I like it?
- 34:07Speaker 1: And then if I do and I feel the same
- 34:08Speaker 1: way in like twenty four hours, I will keep the
- 34:10Speaker 1: other appointment that I made because she books so far
- 34:13Speaker 1: out that I had to book ahead, and I'll keep
- 34:16Speaker 1: the color appointment. But when I was done with my
- 34:18Speaker 1: hair appointment, she goes, Okay, let's book your next appointment.
- 34:20Speaker 1: And I was like, I need to think about it.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Let's lock you in right now.
- 34:23Speaker 1: But the people pleaser and me was like, oh, yeah,
- 34:24Speaker 1: I have an appointment already.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Did you Yeah?
- 34:27Speaker 1: I did, And so I was like, oh, I guess
- 34:28Speaker 1: I'll see you then, which is fine. Like I if
- 34:31Speaker 1: I really was like if there was something wrong with
- 34:34Speaker 1: my hair, I would have been like, oh, yeah, no,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I have an appointment. I'll call you Leona, and that
- 34:37Speaker 1: I would have been canceled or whatever. But I was like,
- 34:39Speaker 1: am I I'm gonna get locked in with this girl
- 34:43Speaker 1: if she does my hair? Like oh yeah, now it
- 34:46Speaker 1: will have been like the second date. And the second
- 34:48Speaker 1: date you can't just go somebody wow. You then have
- 34:51Speaker 1: to give an explanation as to why you're not returning
- 34:53Speaker 1: to get your hair done for a third time.
- 34:55Speaker 3: See this is where you know.
- 34:57Speaker 2: I had the same situation like three months ago, and
- 35:00Speaker 2: I literally ghosted my barber and I love him as
- 35:02Speaker 2: a friend and I just never went back. I never explained,
- 35:04Speaker 2: I never said a text, I never did anything. And
- 35:06Speaker 2: that was like, how long have I been here? That
- 35:09Speaker 2: was like six years of a relationship. You imagine being
- 35:11Speaker 2: in a relationship for six.
- 35:12Speaker 3: Years on my walk away? Yeah no, yeah, I'm horrible.
- 35:14Speaker 1: I've only done it once, and I think it made sense.
- 35:17Speaker 1: It was easy for me to do because I didn't
- 35:18Speaker 1: live in that city. I think it was when I
- 35:20Speaker 1: was in college, and I think there was sort of
- 35:22Speaker 1: a natural break between the two of us. And I
- 35:24Speaker 1: was like, yeah, I'm gonna find somebody.
- 35:26Speaker 3: How far is this person that you're going to?
- 35:27Speaker 1: Now? She south Tampa.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Oh that's easy, okay, Yeah, try I give you an
- 35:31Speaker 2: easy out, like, oh, it's too far. Maybe I could
- 35:33Speaker 2: feel better about myself if I switch up people. Oh no,
- 35:37Speaker 2: even further.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and no, she did a great job, Like I
- 35:39Speaker 1: don't want this in case she listens, but now your chance.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Your hair looks amazing, because I'm always surprised at who listens,
- 35:44Speaker 1: and I'm like, fuck, I shouldn't have said that. But
- 35:47Speaker 1: I was also like, well, there was another salon I
- 35:49Speaker 1: was considering, and it's the same salon my sister in
- 35:53Speaker 1: law goes to, our future sister in law goes to.
- 35:55Speaker 1: But I remember I drove by it and I was
- 35:56Speaker 1: telling Scotty this. It's in Saint Pete. I was driving
- 35:59Speaker 1: and I turned to my left and I'm like, oh
- 36:01Speaker 1: my God, like, there's that salon. It's so cute. And
- 36:03Speaker 1: then I go, where's the parking. There's only I'm like,
- 36:07Speaker 1: you're telling me there's only street parking, and it's in
- 36:10Speaker 1: Saint Pete. Maybe if it was in South Tampa, I
- 36:12Speaker 1: could have justified it, because I'm like, oh, I live
- 36:14Speaker 1: in South Tampa, so I could just uber if I
- 36:16Speaker 1: needed to. But I'm like, I'm not driving my ass
- 36:18Speaker 1: all the way out to Saint Pete to then not
- 36:20Speaker 1: find parking. And I can just picture myself. I'm running
- 36:22Speaker 1: late for an appointment. It's a fifty dollars cancelation fee,
- 36:25Speaker 1: and I'm like, where's parking, where's parking? Then I have
- 36:27Speaker 1: to park at the wah Wah and then I get
- 36:28Speaker 1: towed because it's at wah Wah. I'm just think thinking.
- 36:31Speaker 3: About worst case scenario.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Worst case scenario, and so I'm like, well, it looks
- 36:35Speaker 1: like a really nice lon. It looks like one of
- 36:37Speaker 1: the top salons in Saint Pete. But I can't can't.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I can't deal with the parking.
- 36:41Speaker 3: God forbid, I can't get a space.
- 36:43Speaker 1: The parking situation was way better at the other salon.
- 36:45Speaker 2: I was like, you got to talk to your future
- 36:47Speaker 2: sister in law, like, where the heck does she park?
- 36:49Speaker 3: Because that that's true. That would be so silly not
- 36:51Speaker 3: to try out.
- 36:52Speaker 2: A new spot simply because you're like, I can't get
- 36:54Speaker 2: a spot.
- 36:54Speaker 3: No, literally, it's too stressful.
- 36:55Speaker 1: It is done. But I've also already committed to this girl,
- 36:58Speaker 1: to the girl that I'm gonna go get my hair color.
- 37:00Speaker 3: You need to cancel with her. No, you need to
- 37:02Speaker 3: give you this one a chance.
- 37:03Speaker 1: But here's the thing. Here's my other thought process is
- 37:06Speaker 1: I've had this appointment booked out for a while. So
- 37:09Speaker 1: the first point in her camp is if she books
- 37:11Speaker 1: out that far, she's probably good. If you can book
- 37:15Speaker 1: like that week, that's not a good sign. So I
- 37:18Speaker 1: want to go to someone good. And if I need
- 37:21Speaker 1: to get my hair done, because like, my roots look
- 37:23Speaker 1: the craziest they've ever looked. If I do not get
- 37:26Speaker 1: my hair done within the next month, I'm gonna lose it.
- 37:29Speaker 1: And if I book with the other salon.
- 37:33Speaker 3: It could be a little much longer.
- 37:34Speaker 1: It could be either much longer to get somebody good,
- 37:36Speaker 1: and I want to establish a relationship with somebody good.
- 37:39Speaker 1: If I book now, they're gonna give me the girl
- 37:41Speaker 1: at the bottom of the totem pole. I don't want
- 37:44Speaker 1: the girl at the bottom of.
- 37:44Speaker 3: The totem pole. Now.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I want the master stylists because I want my hair
- 37:48Speaker 1: look good. And the thing is about choosing a salon
- 37:53Speaker 1: is you have to choose that girl well, because once
- 37:56Speaker 1: you go to that girl, you can't go to another girl.
- 37:59Speaker 3: You're locked in.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean? Like, you're locked into
- 38:01Speaker 1: that girl because if you show up six months later,
- 38:05Speaker 1: she's gonna know. And here's the thing, is that the
- 38:07Speaker 1: end of the world. No, but I don't want to.
- 38:10Speaker 1: I can't deal with the discomfort of Yeah, I didn't
- 38:12Speaker 1: like how you did my hair, so I went to
- 38:13Speaker 1: girl Susie. And then they're gonna talk shit about you,
- 38:15Speaker 1: and then they're You're like they're common enemy.
- 38:17Speaker 3: And then they start whacking at you on the radio.
- 38:20Speaker 3: They're gonna start bashing you.
- 38:20Speaker 2: They probably have a picture of your face in the
- 38:22Speaker 2: window crossed out in an axe.
- 38:23Speaker 3: They're gonna butcher my bang, oh, just on purpose.
- 38:26Speaker 1: But they're gonna be nice to me so I'm gonna
- 38:27Speaker 1: think like, oh, maybe they're trying their best, but really
- 38:29Speaker 1: they're sabotage in my hair.
- 38:30Speaker 3: You're gonna come out bald.
- 38:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna come out bald.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Okay, keep it the same.
- 38:34Speaker 1: That's why I have to keep this girl.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I forget. I forget the new spot. Keep
- 38:38Speaker 2: with the same one. Yeah again, Like I always look
- 38:39Speaker 2: at it, cause my girl. I went to a new
- 38:41Speaker 2: place and I was like, now we're three four cuts in,
- 38:45Speaker 2: and I was gonna start just sampling a bunch of
- 38:47Speaker 2: different places. But I'm like, I looked at my head
- 38:49Speaker 2: and I was like, well, what else would I change?
- 38:51Speaker 2: Like nothing, Like, maybe you don't know what you don't know.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Maybe this other place is like phenomenal. Maybe they do
- 38:57Speaker 2: something in your head and that you never even knew
- 38:58Speaker 2: was possible, Scotty say, unfiltered podcast.
- 39:04Speaker 1: So wait, you're saying I should go to the one
- 39:05Speaker 1: I have the booking with, or I need to move
- 39:07Speaker 1: the booking.
- 39:08Speaker 2: If you wanted to experiment, I would at least sample
- 39:11Speaker 2: a couple well.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Normally I would, but my roots are so dire I
- 39:15Speaker 1: have to get them done.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 39:16Speaker 2: On that case, I'd say keep with the same girl,
- 39:18Speaker 2: get the whole thing done, and if you love it,
- 39:20Speaker 2: then she's locked in.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Okay, because how much different could it be in another salog?
- 39:23Speaker 1: You don't know? And here's the other roadblock that I
- 39:26Speaker 1: have too, is this the weird thing about getting older
- 39:28Speaker 1: is this is the first time I'm getting my hair
- 39:30Speaker 1: cut by somebody younger than me, which psychological, psychologically, I go,
- 39:37Speaker 1: I know you're experienced, and I know you're probably really
- 39:40Speaker 1: good at your job, but it still feels like my
- 39:42Speaker 1: kid's sister is cutting my hair. Does it make sense? Yeah,
- 39:44Speaker 1: where I'm like, normally all the people that have cut
- 39:46Speaker 1: my hair have been maternal figures or slightly older than me.
- 39:51Speaker 2: See in the same way, I think a lot of
- 39:53Speaker 2: guys get this. That's how I feel about watching sports.
- 39:55Speaker 2: When I'm watching football, I'm like, God, I'm like rooting
- 39:58Speaker 2: so hard. I'm like kids nineteen, that kid that's a kid,
- 40:01Speaker 2: Like we're about to watch March Madness for basketball and
- 40:03Speaker 2: I'm like, I can't wait.
- 40:05Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm rooting for kids all am I doing.
- 40:07Speaker 3: They're literally kids.
- 40:08Speaker 1: And your mood is going to be based off of
- 40:10Speaker 1: how well that eighteen year.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Old literally like usf is in I'm like, yeah, I'm
- 40:13Speaker 2: about to be gung ho about this, and I'm like,
- 40:16Speaker 2: the decision of an eighteen year old is going to
- 40:18Speaker 2: dictate my mood for the next month. Is absolutely not.
- 40:21Speaker 2: But that's what it's like to have somebody younger do
- 40:23Speaker 2: in your hair.
- 40:23Speaker 1: That's literally how it feels. And she did a great
- 40:25Speaker 1: job on the cut. I'm really just being over dramatic
- 40:27Speaker 1: because I'm.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Like, she was in a good area. I will say
- 40:29Speaker 2: if she's in South Tampa, she's thriving.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a new salon. It's getting a lot of
- 40:32Speaker 1: good traction. They always give you a fun little drink.
- 40:35Speaker 1: And I do love to support like an up and
- 40:36Speaker 1: coming salon because I feel like when there's really good
- 40:40Speaker 1: salon sometimes they do rest on their laurels. They're like, well,
- 40:42Speaker 1: people are gonna come to us because we're bloop and
- 40:44Speaker 1: blue boom boop, Whereas this looks like a newer salon.
- 40:47Speaker 1: They only had like two or three stylists and their
- 40:51Speaker 1: social media is really good, so I mean the people
- 40:53Speaker 1: like them.
- 40:53Speaker 2: When's the coloring happening? Because it's a thing I have learned.
- 40:57Speaker 2: It's crazy how long it took me to learn this. Though,
- 40:58Speaker 2: after a somebody gets their hair done, let's look scotty,
- 41:02Speaker 2: you got to go hit the town like you can't
- 41:04Speaker 2: waste a blowout.
- 41:05Speaker 3: That's what it's called, right, a blowout. April sixteenth, that's
- 41:09Speaker 3: when your blowout is. Okay, we got some time, so we.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Have to We have to go to bool On on April sixteenth.
- 41:14Speaker 3: April sixteenth, we should make it a magic night out.
- 41:16Speaker 1: We should. Oh, also, because we have a station event
- 41:20Speaker 1: on my birthday, we all need to go get really
- 41:22Speaker 1: drunk at brunch on your birthday. We're doing that Tampa
- 41:25Speaker 1: Bay Rays event on April twenty second.
- 41:27Speaker 3: Good lord, I don't have any of these things on
- 41:29Speaker 3: my calendar.
- 41:30Speaker 1: It's that what we just got sent it yesterday, April
- 41:32Speaker 1: twenty second. We literally just got sent yesterday.
- 41:35Speaker 3: That's your birthday.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Yeah wow, okay, I've told you this. How do you forget?
- 41:40Speaker 2: I think it's in my notes somewhere. So a Wednesday,
- 41:43Speaker 2: you want to go get brunch.
- 41:44Speaker 1: It's April twenty second. It's not just a Wednesday, Scotti,
- 41:47Speaker 1: it's your birthday. It's my birthday.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Okay, yes, okay, so forget the twenty second. It's Sabby's birthday.
- 41:51Speaker 2: We're going after the show to get brunch.
- 41:53Speaker 1: I want you to put that on your on your calendar.
- 41:55Speaker 1: We're having alcohol that day.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Okay, deal, I will make that one of the days
- 41:58Speaker 2: I could actually turn up. Is it happens like once
- 42:00Speaker 2: a quarter and it will be.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Funny because we'll go to the station event afterwards at
- 42:03Speaker 1: the Breeze game, so we'll get to booze with all
- 42:05Speaker 1: the salespeople. Okay, that's actually really it's a networking event.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Yeah, no. If we didn't have that, I would be like,
- 42:10Speaker 1: let's just go get brunch and call it today. But
- 42:12Speaker 1: we have a whole afternoon.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Those games are fun though. The whole company comes together.
- 42:15Speaker 3: We go to the game.
- 42:15Speaker 2: It is like free drinks, free food, it's the whole thing.
- 42:18Speaker 2: And it should be back at the Drop, which was
- 42:20Speaker 2: destroyed from the hurricane. They finally rebuilt it, so it's
- 42:24Speaker 2: gonna be brand new and in.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Downtown Saint Pete.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Where should we get brunch in downtown Saint Pete.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Ah, we're gonna have.
- 42:29Speaker 1: To look, that's what we need to do.
- 42:31Speaker 2: I would say June on the Peacock, but okay, that's
- 42:33Speaker 2: my favorite plot. It is pricey, but.
- 42:35Speaker 3: It's your birthday, so my birthday, you know, make your
- 42:38Speaker 3: make somebody else pay for it.
- 42:40Speaker 1: We'll expense it. It's hey, if we have our meeting there,
- 42:43Speaker 1: our Wednesday meeting.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I don't know if the company could afford that.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Can we expense it?
- 42:47Speaker 3: The last time I did it, I think I.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Got the seafood plotter that I was like, oh god,
- 42:51Speaker 2: I don't even know what we did mimosas, which is
- 42:53Speaker 2: at least one hundred dollars just immediately. That was the start,
- 42:56Speaker 2: and then the rest of the food is like, but
- 42:59Speaker 2: it's delicious.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Okay, it's your birthday.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Now.
- 43:02Speaker 2: I do want you to explain because there's also something
- 43:04Speaker 2: we talked about, which is the okay the word that
- 43:07Speaker 2: Abby said in the studio that first off, I got
- 43:09Speaker 2: my taste buzz buzzing.
- 43:10Speaker 1: First of all, it was TikTok okay. I don't think
- 43:13Speaker 1: these words have ever uttered out of my mouth.
- 43:15Speaker 3: What the hell is a banana bread batty?
- 43:17Speaker 1: Hey, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
- 43:19Speaker 3: What is this new phrase?
- 43:20Speaker 1: This is what the kids are talking.
- 43:21Speaker 3: I finally caught up with six seven that's now old.
- 43:23Speaker 1: But yeah, six seven, but nobody knows what six seven
- 43:25Speaker 1: means like even even the kids don't know what's six.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Seven six, even at least.
- 43:30Speaker 1: When we were saying sixty nine, we were like, yeah,
- 43:34Speaker 1: that made more sense. I'm sitting on his face, Okay,
- 43:41Speaker 1: six seven. They're just like, hey me, it's six seven
- 43:47Speaker 1: where it's sixty nine. But it's just one of you.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Oh my god. Yeah.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Actually, if you picture it, they're you know it, don't
- 43:53Speaker 2: picture You're like planking, No, don't picture it.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Don't absolutely do that.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Anyway, back to banana bread batty. So this thing on TikTok,
- 43:59Speaker 1: this phrase that keeps getting used over and over and
- 44:01Speaker 1: over again, it's called banana bread batty. It's this one
- 44:03Speaker 1: guy that keeps talking about it, but everyone in the
- 44:05Speaker 1: comments is talking to him as if they know the
- 44:08Speaker 1: same thing. And what I think, what I've gathered in
- 44:11Speaker 1: my research, what I've gathered in my travels, is that
- 44:13Speaker 1: I think it is a girl that you want to
- 44:17Speaker 1: wife up and she's good at making banana bread because
- 44:19Speaker 1: she has like good homemaking skills. Oh I love this,
- 44:23Speaker 1: like it's kind of tradwify.
- 44:24Speaker 3: I think, wait a second, but I.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Make really good banana bread.
- 44:27Speaker 2: So I'm like, that's me I mean, hey, my acts
- 44:30Speaker 2: used to make a great banana bread. Yeah, like I
- 44:32Speaker 2: would devour and she was wifey.
- 44:34Speaker 1: So wait, let me see if I can find I'm
- 44:36Speaker 1: just going to google the term banana.
- 44:40Speaker 3: You gotta go on an urban dictionary.
- 44:41Speaker 1: For that one bread batty. Now, I'm gonna see if
- 44:43Speaker 1: there's somebody on TikTok that can like explain this to me. Oh,
- 44:46Speaker 1: here we go, okay, TikTok. So, according to the TikTok,
- 44:51Speaker 1: a banana bread batty is a slang term used for
- 44:54Speaker 1: someone who embodies wholesome, down to earth charm, often contrasted
- 44:58Speaker 1: with the more glamorous booth bunny.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Booth bunny booth bunny. The hell is that?
- 45:05Speaker 1: So basically, it's a person with a warm, approachable vibe,
- 45:09Speaker 1: often associated with comfort and authenticity.
- 45:13Speaker 2: So it's somebody that has great qualities that you're looking
- 45:16Speaker 2: to wife up.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I think there's a I think it's a way
- 45:18Speaker 1: for men to be like, no sluts.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Guys are so dumb.
- 45:22Speaker 1: I know we are so dumb. That's essentially what it means.
- 45:24Speaker 2: But I will say as the phrase, I do love
- 45:26Speaker 2: it because that's like again you're finding out the things
- 45:28Speaker 2: you love like a banana bet I want you to
- 45:31Speaker 2: be a batty, but also you know they're if you
- 45:35Speaker 2: could cook.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Really well, a banana bread battie.
- 45:38Speaker 3: God, it's like opening the keys to my heart.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Like does your lady cook?
- 45:42Speaker 3: Yeah? What does she cook anything?
- 45:45Speaker 1: He's like, what doesn't she cook?
- 45:46Speaker 2: Literally, I'm so excited. Well, here's the thing that's the difference.
- 45:49Speaker 2: It's like I want somebody that like actually enjoys it. Yeah,
- 45:52Speaker 2: because one I can't cook. Two I don't enjoy it.
- 45:55Speaker 2: But if you enjoy it and you're really good at it,
- 45:57Speaker 2: I'm like, what a great what a great.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Equation win I could eat, you could cook. I'll also cook.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Dot's not get this mistake, And I'm not want to
- 46:05Speaker 2: lose Dudes' like you have to cook every absolutely not.
- 46:08Speaker 2: I will just don't be impressed. Like, yeah, I'm about
- 46:10Speaker 2: to whoop it up in the kitchen. I'll do it
- 46:11Speaker 2: first before she even tries to cook me a meal,
- 46:13Speaker 2: let me whip it up first.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Does she want to cook for you? Like, does she
- 46:16Speaker 1: have like a meal in mind? What is it?
- 46:18Speaker 2: I believe the first one is tamales tomalay.
- 46:22Speaker 1: She makes good Tomalay's that.
- 46:24Speaker 3: She does give me a blessing on this.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Podcast you think about her Tomalow's not all right, all right?
- 46:32Speaker 1: All I need for my banana bread batty and my
- 46:34Speaker 1: man's to like is a mutual love for pain for
- 46:37Speaker 1: a meal prep service.
- 46:39Speaker 2: You don't want to be able to cook it? What
- 46:40Speaker 2: is the skill that you'd have to have?
- 46:41Speaker 1: Cooking doesn't not that I I don't think it would
- 46:46Speaker 1: not do something for me, but it's not on my
- 46:48Speaker 1: list of domestic priorities. Cooking is not one of them.
- 46:52Speaker 3: I found it.
- 46:53Speaker 2: I find it very interested in this dating process of
- 46:55Speaker 2: asking like what are the things that they thrive at,
- 46:57Speaker 2: their strengths or their weaknesses?
- 46:59Speaker 3: Like that was something that questions. I was like, what's
- 47:00Speaker 3: your living space?
- 47:01Speaker 1: Like yeah, because I have learned because you're very clean, yes, yes.
- 47:05Speaker 3: And I have learned that is a very important thing
- 47:08Speaker 3: to me.
- 47:08Speaker 1: So what are her weaknesses? And they do they frighten you?
- 47:12Speaker 3: They don't frighten me. It was mostly I believe.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Closet could be crazy, which I was like, that's very
- 47:20Speaker 2: typical most women that I know, their closet is like
- 47:23Speaker 2: a wonderland, which it's supposed to be.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Have all the outfits and all the things that you want.
- 47:26Speaker 3: And then it was gosh, laundry. Laundry was a weakness.
- 47:30Speaker 1: I hate laundry.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Everyone does, though, And.
- 47:32Speaker 2: You know what, my brain goes to immediately because I'm
- 47:34Speaker 2: literally going over to my brothers today to help him
- 47:36Speaker 2: with his laundry because he hates laundry too.
- 47:37Speaker 1: You do so much for so many people.
- 47:39Speaker 2: I know, I got to make sure that people you know,
- 47:41Speaker 2: might have support because I also need support. And when
- 47:43Speaker 2: I do, people are there. And I will say, like,
- 47:46Speaker 2: for my brother, he's the handy guy. Okay, so he
- 47:49Speaker 2: came over and put up all our curtains. You're being
- 47:51Speaker 2: a villager exactly. So I'm going over to support him
- 47:55Speaker 2: on his laundry adventure, okay. And I understood. When she's like,
- 47:58Speaker 2: oh yeah, laundry's my week, I was like, I get same.
- 48:00Speaker 2: My brain went to immediately. I was like, you know what,
- 48:03Speaker 2: I'll pay somebody to do our laundry. I'll find a way.
- 48:05Speaker 2: I'll got a side hustle.
- 48:06Speaker 1: That's what I mean. Like, I don't need you to
- 48:08Speaker 1: be good at cleaning. I just need you to to
- 48:09Speaker 1: go at pain for people to clean.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Yeah, but I just have this envisionment, like you love it.
- 48:13Speaker 3: Come home, you're cooking. I'm like, oh, that's awesome.
- 48:15Speaker 1: My god, this is I didn't think I would like this,
- 48:17Speaker 1: says massagingy Oh no.
- 48:19Speaker 3: If that's why I say breaking news.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Scott wants women to stay in the kitchen, I'm kidding.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I'm joking.
- 48:24Speaker 3: That's so I say I'll cook for her first.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Some people love it, Like my mom really loves to clean. Yeah,
- 48:28Speaker 1: mom's a big cleaner, clean lady.
- 48:30Speaker 3: I'll probably be doing the lawn and cleaning the house.
- 48:32Speaker 3: I don't mind. I'll take out the trash.
- 48:34Speaker 1: The only stereotypical feminine thing I like to do is bake.
- 48:38Speaker 1: I'm a big baker, but that's it. I don't like
- 48:40Speaker 1: the other things. I don't really want to. I mean,
- 48:41Speaker 1: I enjoy cooking. I don't know that I'm necessarily good
- 48:44Speaker 1: at it.
- 48:45Speaker 3: M there's a joy.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Yeah, like if you actually find because the people that
- 48:50Speaker 2: like cooking, they find a peace into it. Yeah, they're
- 48:52Speaker 2: like doing it and they're just they go to another place.
- 48:54Speaker 2: I don't go there, no, no, no, you catch me.
- 48:57Speaker 2: If there was an activity in the house that I
- 48:59Speaker 2: could escape to mowing the lawn, my mind just goes.
- 49:03Speaker 2: It's mindless and I could just do the motions, and
- 49:06Speaker 2: all of a sudden, I'm thinking through great ideas. I'm
- 49:08Speaker 2: listening to good podcasts and music, and I'm like, I
- 49:11Speaker 2: don't mind doing that at all.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Now do I want to anymore?
- 49:13Speaker 1: No?
- 49:14Speaker 2: I will still find a way to, like side hustle
- 49:16Speaker 2: it up to get somebody else to do it that
- 49:17Speaker 2: does it better than me. But like that laundry, I
- 49:20Speaker 2: actually don't mind. I don't mind folding laundry. I will
- 49:23Speaker 2: do it as long as it's not you know, eighteen
- 49:27Speaker 2: loads or it takes you. But you throw on a
- 49:29Speaker 2: show and you fold laundry, I'm like, oh mind that
- 49:31Speaker 2: at all?
- 49:32Speaker 1: Here I am.
- 49:32Speaker 3: That's what I'm there for. You know.
- 49:33Speaker 1: I hate hanging up clothes, putting them back on a hanger.
- 49:37Speaker 2: I don't mind, you know, I don't mind anymore because
- 49:39Speaker 2: I got myself nice hangers. Oh it was like a
- 49:41Speaker 2: silly thing I like spent a little extra money on.
- 49:44Speaker 2: I got wood hangers, and they look nice and they
- 49:46Speaker 2: feel nice. I treat my room.
- 49:48Speaker 3: If you're to ever see it, it looks like a
- 49:51Speaker 3: hotel room.
- 49:51Speaker 1: He's inviting me to his room right now. You should
- 49:54Speaker 1: take a photo of your room and then give me
- 49:56Speaker 1: like a house tour. Okay, this we we'll do. Let's
- 49:59Speaker 1: give each other a house.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Tour without being in each other's house.
- 50:02Speaker 1: No, no, we'll take a video with audio, so we'll play
- 50:06Speaker 1: the audio over the mics or whatever, and on Monday,
- 50:09Speaker 1: we will give each other a house tour and you
- 50:11Speaker 1: will see each other's respective spaces. I think you're gonna
- 50:14Speaker 1: be horrified by mine.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Really, why?
- 50:17Speaker 1: Because my my entire house is clean except for my room.
- 50:21Speaker 3: Is that your weakness?
- 50:22Speaker 1: My weakness is I how do I put this?
- 50:27Speaker 3: What would be the thing that you had warn a
- 50:28Speaker 3: man about before? You?
- 50:29Speaker 1: Probably my room? He's like, but that's where I want
- 50:33Speaker 1: to be, baby.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Room.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Everything's good, so like, for example, shared spaces. This is
- 50:39Speaker 1: my parents' house that I live in. They basically said
- 50:43Speaker 1: our place better be fucking spotless, and so I said, okay,
- 50:46Speaker 1: if that's the conditions of me living here, I will
- 50:48Speaker 1: pay someone to do that because I don't want to.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 50:52Speaker 1: That's so the whole rest of the house is great looking.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I don't want to pay the extra money for someone
- 50:57Speaker 1: to come to my space and like touch my clothes.
- 51:00Speaker 1: I don't like that. And it bothers me. So the
- 51:02Speaker 1: thing is is I will clean my space, but I
- 51:05Speaker 1: need like nothing else on my mental plate for me
- 51:08Speaker 1: to be able to sit down and do it. Otherwise
- 51:10Speaker 1: I will get overwhelmed and I will turn on Netflix.
- 51:12Speaker 2: See I'm the opposite where I can't enjoy anything unless
- 51:15Speaker 2: the house is cleaned, and.
- 51:16Speaker 1: I respect that. I wish I was like that.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Oh, it's not always the best because there are way
- 51:20Speaker 2: more important things to do beside putting away shoes and clothes.
- 51:23Speaker 2: But my brain's like, all right, I got a big
- 51:26Speaker 2: meeting coming up that I should be preparing for, but
- 51:28Speaker 2: there's dishes in the sink.
- 51:29Speaker 1: See. That's what I mean is if I have something
- 51:31Speaker 1: that I have to do, like I put out a
- 51:33Speaker 1: podcast multiple times a week. If I have to do that,
- 51:36Speaker 1: I can't clean and be like this is so enjoyable
- 51:38Speaker 1: because the whole time I'm thinking is this is my paycheck.
- 51:41Speaker 1: I people who rely on like the content that I
- 51:43Speaker 1: put out, like, if it overwhelms me.
- 51:45Speaker 3: We need a blend because I need that thought process
- 51:47Speaker 3: way more.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Oh should we get married?
- 51:49Speaker 3: Yes, actually we're the wedding to watch.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Your lady sitting me here going to fuck up better?
- 51:55Speaker 3: Watch it.
- 51:56Speaker 2: That's literally and that's like the podcast yesterday with the
- 51:58Speaker 2: older woman that was hitting on.
- 51:59Speaker 1: Me at the Okay, so next week, that's what we'll do.
- 52:01Speaker 1: I'll give you a house tour. You give me a
- 52:02Speaker 1: house tour.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Well, I also have a roommate, so I'm gonna make
- 52:05Speaker 2: sure that you know he helps me clean the house
- 52:06Speaker 2: because it needs to look respectable.
- 52:08Speaker 3: I want you to respect our house.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Well, I guess maybe just like a room tour.
- 52:12Speaker 3: Okay, I can do a room to room.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Tour, because all you're gonna see is my parents house
- 52:15Speaker 1: and you're gonna go, well, that's really clean. I'm gonna
- 52:17Speaker 1: I know I'd paid someone on task grab it to
- 52:19Speaker 1: do it.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Oh that's smart.
- 52:20Speaker 1: It's really not even that expensive for a task grabit
- 52:23Speaker 1: for someone to just like because I keep the downstairs,
- 52:26Speaker 1: I mean other than my room, Like I keep everything
- 52:28Speaker 1: pretty tidy. Honestly. The kitchen hit her miss, but like
- 52:32Speaker 1: I'm just I'm good with like clean enough. I know
- 52:37Speaker 1: most people want things to be spotless. So the cleaner
- 52:39Speaker 1: lady just comes in and does the stuff that like
- 52:41Speaker 1: my ADHD brain just like doesn't care about.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess there's for me I'm not obsessive over it,
- 52:47Speaker 2: but it just needs to be organized. Yeah, like if
- 52:49Speaker 2: the blankets folded on the couch, awesome, there's not shoes
- 52:53Speaker 2: all over the floor when you walk in. My biggest
- 52:56Speaker 2: pet peeve is the sink and then walking on our floors.
- 52:59Speaker 2: If I fuel stuff on my feet, ooh, oh my god,
- 53:04Speaker 2: that drives me insane, heinous. I'm actually about to get
- 53:06Speaker 2: online right now and get me like a swiffer because
- 53:09Speaker 2: we have this like I don't know what the kind
- 53:10Speaker 2: of floor is called.
- 53:10Speaker 3: It's not tile, but it's like too sophisticated for me. No,
- 53:15Speaker 3: it's not tile.
- 53:16Speaker 2: It's like a solid stone all the way around. It's
- 53:18Speaker 2: not stone though, porcelain that's it. Well, yes, style, I
- 53:22Speaker 2: don't I don't think that's what it is. Okay, it's
- 53:23Speaker 2: some other thing that you can't mop. But I could swiffer.
- 53:27Speaker 2: I could just get all the dirt and the dust up,
- 53:29Speaker 2: because that's the one thing that drives me absolutely insane.
- 53:32Speaker 2: If I put my bare foot on the floor and
- 53:34Speaker 2: something comes up on my foot with.
- 53:35Speaker 3: It, I don't want to be part of that. That's
- 53:41Speaker 3: the thing that will get me every time. We'll look
- 53:42Speaker 3: forward to seeing that all right, Well then we'll do
- 53:44Speaker 3: a house tour.
- 53:45Speaker 2: All right Abby, what's your social media and mine is
- 53:48Speaker 2: at Scott Tavlin and if you want to fall along
- 53:50Speaker 2: with all the station stuff at Magic ninety four nine
