- 0:47Speaker 1: Hello lovelies, and happy Monday. I hope you all had
- 0:51Speaker 1: an amazing weekend. I'm guessing I had a great weekend
- 0:56Speaker 1: since I am actually in Paris at the time that
- 0:59Speaker 1: this is being released, and I am pre recording this
- 1:02Speaker 1: for all of you. I am Terry True Crime and
- 1:06Speaker 1: welcome to Midday Missing, where we highlight current missing person
- 1:10Speaker 1: cases that need more attention. We stream every and Monday
- 1:14Speaker 1: at every Monday and Wednesday at noon Central. See me
- 1:19Speaker 1: pre recording. I get all mixed up in my head
- 1:23Speaker 1: because I also have to run the behind the scenes,
- 1:26Speaker 1: which we know I'm not good at. So now our
- 1:30Speaker 1: first case going to start off. Camille Dardaines be a
- 1:38Speaker 1: good girl. Those are the last words that Ashley Dotson's mother,
- 1:44Speaker 1: Camille ever said to her before vanishing in Las Vegas
- 1:49Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety four. Now, Ashley's life had already been
- 1:55Speaker 1: marked by hardship, her mother going missing forever changed her. Now,
- 2:02Speaker 1: most of Ashley's childhood was spent waiting in the car
- 2:06Speaker 1: while her grandmother went into strip clubs and bars looking
- 2:10Speaker 1: for her mother. Camille. Ah, I mean, guys, this is
- 2:16Speaker 1: just more able story. Okay. Now, Camille's early life looked
- 2:24Speaker 1: nothing like the way it ended. She grew up in
- 2:26Speaker 1: Chicago in an upper middle class family and was known
- 2:30Speaker 1: as an intelligent, talented, and strikingly beautiful young lady. Now.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Childhood friends recalled her excelling at school sports, ballet, and
- 2:41Speaker 1: she even skated competitively. They said that she was whip
- 2:46Speaker 1: smart beyond her years. One of her fin friends remembered now,
- 2:52Speaker 1: at age twenty one, Camille became captivated by the story
- 2:56Speaker 1: of Gary Dotson, who is a wrongfully convicted man. He
- 3:01Speaker 1: had been convicted of right now. She attended his clemency hearing,
- 3:05Speaker 1: where she famously presented him with the White Carnation. Their
- 3:10Speaker 1: love story quickly made headlines, and in nineteen eighty five,
- 3:14Speaker 1: Camille and Gary married. They I mean, they were even
- 3:19Speaker 1: interviewed on Good Morning America. They soon had their daughter, Ashley,
- 3:24Speaker 1: and from the outside, most people thought it was a
- 3:26Speaker 1: fairy tale, But it is said Gary's drinking and violence
- 3:31Speaker 1: shattered that dream. Camille separated from him and moved with
- 3:36Speaker 1: Ashley to Las Vegas to start over. Now in Vegas,
- 3:40Speaker 1: Camille worked as a bartender and a dancer at the
- 3:44Speaker 1: infamous Crazy Horse Club. Both have links to mob figures figures. Okay,
- 3:51Speaker 1: I'm just telling you now. She did remarry a guy
- 3:56Speaker 1: named George Cruz Diaz, but that relationship is said to
- 4:00Speaker 1: have been abusive, and Camille sadly fell into drugs and prostitution.
- 4:08Speaker 1: By nineteen eighty four, her life had spiraled out of control.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Her nose had been broken, her teeth were discolored from
- 4:16Speaker 1: substance abuse, and she was paranoid. She confined it to
- 4:20Speaker 1: friends that she felt like she was being followed. That summer,
- 4:24Speaker 1: she sent Ashley to live with her grandmother in Chicago,
- 4:28Speaker 1: an agonizing but selfless choice. I mean, guys, even in
- 4:33Speaker 1: the throes of her own stuff, she still thought of
- 4:36Speaker 1: her daughter, Ashley, like I said. Ashley's last memory of
- 4:40Speaker 1: her mom was a phone call where she was told
- 4:42Speaker 1: to be a good girl. In early September nineteen ninety four,
- 4:50Speaker 1: Camille was arrested alongside her roommate Kiko Fernandez, after police
- 4:56Speaker 1: responded to a disturbance at their apartment. Was released from
- 5:00Speaker 1: jail the next day and was last seen walking near
- 5:03Speaker 1: Casino Center Boulevard. She never made her next court appearance,
- 5:09Speaker 1: and family and friends said that was out of character.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Even in the throes of her addiction. Guys, it was
- 5:17Speaker 1: seven months before her disappearance was reported. Sadly, as we
- 5:22Speaker 1: all know, Camille and a lot of evidence were long
- 5:27Speaker 1: gone now. It is said when Camille's mother reported her
- 5:32Speaker 1: missing that Las Vegas police showed little interest, writing that
- 5:36Speaker 1: there was no reason to believe or suspect foul play.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Even worse, guys, her original missing person report was mysteriously deleted.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It wasn't until nine years later, after pressure from Camille's
- 5:52Speaker 1: childhood friend Ellen, that police finally reclassified her as endangered.
- 5:59Speaker 1: What the hell, Las Vegas? Just because she was addicted
- 6:04Speaker 1: to drugs and she had turned to sex work, That
- 6:07Speaker 1: is not a reason to forget that she's a person
- 6:11Speaker 1: and that she deserves to be found. Okay, several people
- 6:16Speaker 1: remain under suspicion. Her roomate Fernandez, the last person known
- 6:21Speaker 1: to live with her, has a record of domestic violence,
- 6:25Speaker 1: including attempted strangulation. Now Diaz, her husband, was later convicted
- 6:34Speaker 1: of attempted murder in an unrelated case, and he had
- 6:38Speaker 1: never reported Camille missing. He's never divorced her, and Guys,
- 6:43Speaker 1: when he was contacted decades later, denied ever knowing her.
- 6:49Speaker 1: What the hell you were married to her, Sir, you
- 6:54Speaker 1: can't claim he didn't know her. Put my glasses on.
- 6:57Speaker 1: It might make it a little easier to see. Sorry, guys,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I hate my glasses now. Others suspect biker gangs, mobsters,
- 7:06Speaker 1: or even maybe a police officer that there's been rumors
- 7:09Speaker 1: she was romantically involved with.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Others believe she was pressured into becoming a confidential informant,
- 7:18Speaker 1: which could explain her repeatedly petty arrest. Now a number
- 7:22Speaker 1: found on her phone book even trace back to the FBI.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Okay, guys, that's if she was.
- 7:30Speaker 1: A confidential informant and someone found out. It's not good,
- 7:35Speaker 1: but still, the possibility of a random attack can't be dismissed.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Sex Workers are far more likely to be murdered than
- 7:43Speaker 1: the average woman, and Camille's risky lifestyle did put her
- 7:48Speaker 1: in extreme danger. But guys, it doesn't mean she wasn't
- 7:54Speaker 1: a human and that she doesn't deserve to be found. Okay. Today,
- 7:58Speaker 1: her daughter, Ashley continue and used to carry the weight
- 8:01Speaker 1: of her mother's disappearance. She has kept posters up, made
- 8:05Speaker 1: public appeals, and has even given DNA in case her
- 8:09Speaker 1: mother's remains are ever found. And guy with little help
- 8:14Speaker 1: from law enforcement, it is said Ashley and volunteers have
- 8:18Speaker 1: built their own investigation team, retracing the final days of
- 8:23Speaker 1: Camille now. Camille was just thirty years old when she disappeared.
- 8:27Speaker 1: She was a daughter, a mother, a sister, and a friend.
- 8:33Speaker 1: And she deserves justice, and her family deserves answers, and
- 8:38Speaker 1: Ashley deserves to know what happened. At the time of
- 8:42Speaker 1: her disappearance. Camille had brown hair, brown hazel eyes, five
- 8:48Speaker 1: foot seven, weighing one hundred and twenty five to one
- 8:50Speaker 1: hundred and forty five pounds on her right hip. She
- 8:54Speaker 1: has a tattoo that says Cruise. She is known to smoke.
- 8:58Speaker 1: She also sometimes used the names Nicole Renee, Kim Clark,
- 9:05Speaker 1: or Diaz. I remember she was last scene walking near
- 9:09Speaker 1: Casino Center Boulevard in Las Vegas in September nineteen ninety four. Guys,
- 9:16Speaker 1: it's been thirty one flipping years, Okay, if you have
- 9:22Speaker 1: any information, please contact crime Stoppers at seven O two
- 9:26Speaker 1: three eight five five point five five five five five.
- 9:31Speaker 1: That's right, and let's help help Ashley, her daughter and
- 9:35Speaker 1: family get the answers that they deserve. And guys, I'm
- 9:40Speaker 1: going to tell you now If any of you are
- 9:42Speaker 1: judging her because she wound up in an addiction situation
- 9:49Speaker 1: or sex work, I'm going to tell you shame on you.
- 9:52Speaker 1: It can happen to anyone, and no judgment. She deserves
- 9:57Speaker 1: to still be found. Guys, if you know of or
- 10:03Speaker 1: have a loved one missing and are interested in having
- 10:06Speaker 1: their story featured on an upcoming episode, or maybe you
- 10:09Speaker 1: want to join us for a live interview, contact Amy,
- 10:13Speaker 1: our assistant producer, by email at Amy at tcwmedia dot com,
- 10:20Speaker 1: or you can send us a DM on our Facebook
- 10:23Speaker 1: page or any of our social medias. Now. On May nineteenth,
- 10:29Speaker 1: two thousand and twenty four year old Kinsey Maxfeld auto
- 10:34Speaker 1: vanished from Las Vegas, Nevada. He has never been seen
- 10:39Speaker 1: or heard from again. Look at this guy, good luck
- 10:42Speaker 1: and young man, now excuse me. Kinzie also is known
- 10:49Speaker 1: to have gone by Trent, but he lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- 10:55Speaker 1: He boarded a Sun Country Airlines flight on May thirteenth,
- 10:59Speaker 1: two and headed for mccairn International Airport. Authorities have confirmed
- 11:05Speaker 1: he landed it safely and was seen visiting several clubs
- 11:09Speaker 1: in Las Vegas in the days that followed. Now, guys,
- 11:12Speaker 1: he wasn't traveling light, Okay, he carried a blue Devil
- 11:17Speaker 1: bag with at least ten thousand dollars in cash. Okay,
- 11:22Speaker 1: I mean go into Vegas, you take money for the tables. However,
- 11:27Speaker 1: investigators believe potentially the purpose of this trip was to
- 11:32Speaker 1: take that ten thousand dollars and buy a large ecstasy stash.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Now, after May thirteen, Kinsey phoned his father claimed he
- 11:45Speaker 1: was back in Minneapolis visiting a hospitalized friend who had
- 11:50Speaker 1: been in a car accident Guys. Investigators later determined this
- 11:55Speaker 1: story was not true. He was still in Las Vegas
- 11:59Speaker 1: at the time of that hall now. His father also
- 12:03Speaker 1: shared that Kinsey had signed a modeling contract with the
- 12:06Speaker 1: Chicago Agency before May two thousand and he had been
- 12:11Speaker 1: planning and move, but he didn't have the money. So
- 12:15Speaker 1: police believe Kinsey hoped that that Las Vegas drug deal
- 12:20Speaker 1: would provide him the funds he needed to start the
- 12:23Speaker 1: new chapter. Oh. Sadly, Kinsey was never seen again. He
- 12:31Speaker 1: was scheduled to fly back to Minneapolis on May nineteen.
- 12:36Speaker 1: His return ticket was never used. He simply disappeared. Now
- 12:42Speaker 1: the man authority suspect Auto met with in Las Vegas
- 12:46Speaker 1: was uncooperative with investigators, and he did have an active
- 12:50Speaker 1: warrant for drugs and weapons charges, but still didn't didn't
- 12:55Speaker 1: give anything up. Now, Kinsey's family says he never would
- 12:59Speaker 1: have walked away voluntarily. He was devoted to his young son.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Investigators belief oul play is most likely the explanation and
- 13:11Speaker 1: suspect he maybe was murdered after a drug deal went wrong. Guys,
- 13:16Speaker 1: once again, no judgment, Okay. People make bad decisions. Okay.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Making a bad decision does not make you any less
- 13:25Speaker 1: of a human or for you deserve to be found.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:30Speaker 1: At the time of his disappearance, he was twenty four
- 13:33Speaker 1: years old, five foot eleven, one hundred and fifty pounds,
- 13:37Speaker 1: brown hair, blue eyes. He had several small scars on
- 13:42Speaker 1: his back from moles being removed. He did have a
- 13:46Speaker 1: silver naval ring and a silver tongue stud. The last
- 13:51Speaker 1: time he was seeing he had on a gray button
- 13:53Speaker 1: up shirt, jeans, blue hat with yellow lettering. Like I said,
- 13:57Speaker 1: He also used the name Trent cacasionally. Now, both Nevada
- 14:02Speaker 1: and Minnesota authorities continue to investigate Kinsey's disappearance. Guys, all
- 14:09Speaker 1: these years later, they still have nothing and the case
- 14:13Speaker 1: remains unsolved. If you have any information about the disappearance
- 14:19Speaker 1: of Kinsey, please contact Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at
