- 1:15Now it's time for us to go ahead and begin the Phantom Chase Matter parts
- 1:21one and two from Hollywood. It's time now for Johnny Dollar Pat McCrackan,
- 1:30Universal Adjustment Bureau, Johnny Wow, A long time pad. What's on your
- 1:34mind at the moment? One hundred and twenty thousand bucks. Hey, you're
- 1:37really thinking big these days? No correction worrying big? Well, I guess
- 1:42if I had one hundred and twenty thousand clams, I'd worry too. Look,
- 1:45if we had it, I wouldn't be worrying. So who does have
- 1:47it? Thomas Chase coming in a partner in the New York Investments? Did
- 1:51they get Everson the Chase real dignified outfit up till now? Jason Bezzel the
- 1:56money? We think? So? So what do you want with me?
- 1:57I'm no expert enforcing professions? Johnny again, Make a guy confess if you
- 2:01can't find him. Oh, Chase has jumped his bail. He's disappeared.
- 2:07I'll be right over tonight and every weekday night. Bob Bailey in the transcribed
- 2:17Adventures of the Man with the Action Packed Expense ac coud America's fabulous freelance insurance
- 2:23investigator, Yours truly, Johnny Dollar, from Special Investigator Johnny Dollar to the
- 2:40Home Office Universal Adjustment Bureau, Hartford, Connecticut. Following is an accounting of
- 2:45expendit yours during my investigation of the Phantom Chase matter expense account at a one
- 2:54a dollar even taxi from my apartment to the offices of Universal Adjustment where Pat
- 2:59mccragan was waiting for me with a worried look and a handful of papers.
- 3:02How can you figure it, Johnny, and I'll fit Like eversonon Chase goes
- 3:06along for years without a blemish on the record, and then blewie, one
- 3:08of them turns sour. That's what makes horse racist. I guess that's also
- 3:13what gives bonding companies headaches. Yeah, what's the background, Pat, No,
- 3:16it's all in here. Everson Chase investment brokers, real high class clientele,
- 3:22warnership. Oh yeah, George Everson senior partner, forty two years old,
- 3:28pillar of society. All right, No, widower wife died three four
- 3:31years ago. This Thomas Chase is the junior partner there. Yeah, he's
- 3:36thirty eight. It's a big fellow, clean cut all conference football player in
- 3:39college, you know that sort of thing. Everything in his favor looks personality,
- 3:44intelligence, ability, Why, Johnny, Eh, why a guy like
- 3:47that? Oh, you're asking the wrong fellow. I've seen enough embassas ought
- 3:52to know. They come in all shapes and sizes. What turns a man
- 3:55like that sour? Anyway? Well, you know the stock reasons as well
- 3:59as I do. Pad gambling debts. A woman, incidentally, is Chase
- 4:03married. Now that's another thing. I don't get what I mean. I
- 4:06know one of the stock reasons for embezzling is another woman. If that was
- 4:11Chase's motive, he's notti than a fruitcake. Why anyone who had a wife
- 4:15like Lola Chase would even look at another woman is beyond me. Like that,
- 4:17huh? Like that impresses me as a real, real fine woman and
- 4:21has got the looks to go with it. Or you'll be talking to You'll
- 4:25see for yourself, always a pleasure pad. Now about the money that's missing.
- 4:29One hundred and twenty thousand dollars, you see, Yeah, more or
- 4:30less, currency checks, negotiable security. Well, look a deal like that
- 4:34didn't just take place overnight. It must have been going on for a long
- 4:36time, no doubt of it. How to Chase manager? Well, Everson
- 4:40configure in on that better than I could a senior partner. Yeah, now
- 4:44he's still not willing to go along with us. The Chase is guilty.
- 4:46I think he's pretty concerned about the company name, which is understandable enough.
- 4:49Well, he's got something. Well, you better save yourself some time,
- 4:53Johnny, meaning meaning you just answered me one question, right, What is
- 4:58it? What? An innocent man. Jump bail expense had him two sixteen
- 5:04dollars and twenty cents transportation and incidentals to New York to the office of Everson
- 5:09and Chase. George Everson was Justice Pat McCracken had described him early forties,
- 5:14a little gray at the Temple's healthy ten, the real solid citizen, tiple,
- 5:18handsome and right now unhappy. I still can't believe it. Mister Dollar,
- 5:26Tom Chase, of all people, Well, he was like a younger
- 5:30brother. I nursed him to the best graduate business school in the East.
- 5:32I took him in with me. How long ago did he become a partner
- 5:36in the firm, mister Everson? For five years? It five years?
- 5:41Next month it would be and Lola, poor Lola, his wife. If
- 5:46I ever saw an ideal, Mary's that was it. As far as I
- 5:48could see. She was. She's all in a man could want. Maybe
- 5:51not for Tom Chase, No, maybe not. And I certainly don't understand
- 5:56it. Tell me how was Chase able to get away with this deal,
- 6:00the embezzlement, Well, it began with mister Dollar. Our firm has always
- 6:03maintained a very fluid relationship with his clients, frequently we're buying or selling for
- 6:09them, or both very rapidly. In a situation like that, the client
- 6:13places a great deal of confidence and trust in us, and we've always had
- 6:16the utmost of both from them, at least we did have, I see.
- 6:21Well, anyway, in a situation like ours, it is possible for
- 6:26a clever man to juggle figures, and that's what Tom Shased did. Yes'mfraight,
- 6:30so you see. More and more lately he'd taken over the personal management
- 6:33of some of our best accounts, oh, sort of taking them under the
- 6:38wing. I encouraged him to. But if I'd realized I was only putting
- 6:42temptation in Tom's way, Well, how did you find out what he'd been
- 6:46up to, mister Effison. Well, Tom had formed a kind of pattern
- 6:49in these accounts. He specialized in handling those clients of ours who were primarily
- 6:55interested in growth investments, growth long range you know, buy and hold it
- 7:00for quite a while. Oh yeah, I see. But one of those
- 7:01clients suddenly decided to liquidate these holdings on short notice. The account turned up
- 7:05short, then quite short, so of course I immediately ordered a full scale
- 7:10audit. The results of that brought the District Attorney's office into it. The
- 7:15rest, you know. Yeah, but I must say that on paper,
- 7:17he'd done a very convincing job. You see, now here are the files
- 7:21on all his accounts. Pardon me. He'd recorded each transaction carefully and correctly,
- 7:28and had written up memos on all of them. These memos, then
- 7:31his handwriting, Yes they are. May I take one of them with me?
- 7:34Yeah, certainly there are, nice, mister Evison, As I understand
- 7:40that Tom Chase wouldn't talk after his arrest. No, that was the most
- 7:45frustrating part of it. If he'd given us some kind of explanation, anything,
- 7:49but he refused to make a statement of any kind. I see.
- 7:53I arranged for his bail, of course, and tried to do what I
- 7:56could, but he jumped ail and disappeared. Yeah, this was four days
- 8:00ago, I understand. Yeah. I one more thing, mister Everson,
- 8:03had he acted it all differently lately? Well, I hadn't noticed anything,
- 8:07but apparently his wife Lola had. Oh yeah, I had dinner with him
- 8:11a week or so before, well before this thing happened. Lola got me
- 8:16off to one side for a moment and asked me if i'd noticed any change
- 8:20in Tom lately. Change. Yes, She said that he'd seemed rather moody
- 8:24and preoccupied, and that made me realize that he had seemed a trifle tants
- 8:28around the office. Apparently, he told her he'd been working extra hard,
- 8:33and I suppose that should have been a danger sign to me, But well,
- 8:37I was afraid i'd so I just passed it off. I kidded her
- 8:39out of it. Yeah. Well, thanks for the information, mister Everson.
- 8:45It's little enough. I'm afraid, where do you start looking at a
- 8:48case like this. Well, that's a good question. First, I think
- 8:52I'm going to have a talk with missus Chase, find out all I can
- 8:54about her husband's habits, likes and dislikes so on. Sometimes you pick up,
- 9:00well, you'll probably run him down sooner or later. I understand you
- 9:03have quite a reputation to that sort of thing. I wonder if you'd do
- 9:07me a favorite, mister Donner. Sure, as I say, you probably
- 9:11find him. And as for the money, well, I guess whatever part
- 9:13of it we recover, we should be grateful for. That's about the size
- 9:16of it. I guess, frankly, I'd rather not see Tom Chase again
- 9:22unless it can't be avoided. Yeah, I understand it, But there is
- 9:24one question. I guess I'll always wonder about it. Maybe you can find
- 9:28the answer for me. What is it? Why did he do it?
- 9:33Why? Expenser con Item three twelve fifty cocktails in dinner for Lola Chase and
- 9:41myself. I figured she might relax a little more that way, And believe
- 9:46me, taking Lola Chase to dinner was no chore. She was everything Pat
- 9:48McCracken and George Efferson had said she was. Tom Chase must have had some
- 9:54pretty powerful reasons to walk out on her. Wellla and I'm a general conversation
- 9:58through dinner, and she was poised but pretty subdued. After we finished eating,
- 10:03I steered the conversation around to her husband. I don't know that there's
- 10:07anything I can tell you that I haven't already told the District Attorney's office,
- 10:11mister Dollar, but every information I can furnish, Well, what I mainly
- 10:16want to know is, oh, what sort of person was your husband?
- 10:20Tom? I guess I'm the wrong one to be answering that, mister dollarm
- 10:28I thought I knew Tom better than anyone in the world, But as it
- 10:31turned out I didn't know him at all. Funny how you can live with
- 10:37someone for years. Yeah, So when you ask me what sort of personal
- 10:43he was, I guess I have to say I really don't know. How
- 10:48about his hobbies, likes and dislikes, you know that sort of thing.
- 10:52Well, he liked to play golf, he did some sailing, and he
- 10:56had quite a collection of records and an elaborate high five. I said,
- 11:00all, what kind of records? Jazz? Mostly? He used to play
- 11:03them by the hour. I must say he turned them up a little too
- 11:07loudly for me. But then I understand that women's ears weren't built for high
- 11:11fire or something like that. Yeah, tell me, missus chasers. Did
- 11:13you notice much change in his behavior recently? Yes, I did. Ended
- 11:20upset me. What sort of change. Well, for one thing, he
- 11:24became rather moody, I guess you'd call it. He seemed to have something
- 11:30on his mind all the time. Several times he stayed out late at night,
- 11:33said he was working. And then there was the thing about our vacation.
- 11:39What was that. We planned a little trip, but at the last
- 11:43moment he told me he couldn't go. He insisted I make the trip without
- 11:46him. I didn't want to, but he insisted, so I finally went
- 11:52alone. It was when I got back that I found out he'd been arrested.
- 11:58Where did you go on this trip, Martha's Vineyard? Well, thanks
- 12:03very much for the information, Missus Chase. Thank you, mister Dowler.
- 12:07You've been very kind. Quenen if you find Tom well, yes, well,
- 12:16I guess I'm just foolish enough to think he still might be innocent.
- 12:24I took Missus Chain to her apartment and then went back to my hotel.
- 12:28A big question was where to start. What did I really know about Tom
- 12:31Chase. I had a picture of him and a specimen of his handwriting.
- 12:35I knew his hobbies, but what did it all add up to. Oh,
- 12:43mister yeah, I'm sorry to barge in on you at this hour,
- 12:46mister Dollar, No, not at all, Come on, come on out.
- 12:48Thanks, mister Donner. You probably think I'm crazy, and I know
- 12:52it's a very slim chance, but it is a chance. What are you
- 12:54talking about. Take a look at this newspaper right here, a feature article
- 12:58on Chez New Orleans. This picture taking in the bar down there, the
- 13:03old guy with a trumpet. No, no, no, in the background
- 13:05the people sitting at the bar. Look at this man right here. Oh,
- 13:07his face is half turned away and it looks like he hasn't shaved for
- 13:11a while. Mister Dollar, that's Tom Chase. You sure you can't see
- 13:16much of his face. I know, I know, But when you've been
- 13:18around a man for several years, you notice little things about him, little
- 13:22mannerism, like what, well, look, look at the way he's got
- 13:24his head sort of cocked to one side. Now, that's just the way
- 13:26Tom always did when he was listening to something. And look at his hand
- 13:30resting on the bar, like one finger was pointing at something. That's the
- 13:33way Tom held his hand. And look he's got one leg sort of drawn
- 13:37up. That is exactly the way Tom used to sit at the bar.
- 13:39Hall. But mister Everson, any number of men and that picture isn't too
- 13:43clear. I know. Maybe it's just a crazy, wild idea, mister
- 13:48Dollar. I'll bet on it that that man is Tom Chase. Crazy wild
- 13:52idea. Maybe, maybe not. But it took less than a second to
- 13:56metally flip a coin and it came up New Orleans Johnny Dollar, George Everson,
- 14:20mister Dollar, Oh, yes, mister Everson, I've been thinking,
- 14:22Yeah, I could have been wrong last night. You mean about the newspaper
- 14:24picture of the bar in New Orleans. Yes, that man in the background
- 14:28of the picture, the way he sits, the way he holds his hands,
- 14:30and he's handed it's so like Tom Chae, that's what you told me
- 14:33last night. Yes, but this morning, well, you know, things
- 14:35always look different in the morning. After all, we can't see very much
- 14:39of his face in the picture. It might be just a wild goose Chase.
- 14:41Well, I've been on plenty of them, believe me. But I've
- 14:45been thinking too, mister Everson. Tom Chase and bezzled one hundred and twenty
- 14:48thousand dollars from your firm. New Orleans would be as good a place for
- 14:52him to hide as any Besides, which his wife told me was very fond
- 14:54of jazz, and there's certainly plenty of that down there, And you really
- 14:58think it might be a possibility. My plane leaves for New Orleans in an
- 15:01hour tonight and every weekday night. Bob Bailey in the Transcribed Adventures of the
- 15:13Man with the Action Packed Expensive Coud, America's Fabulous Freelance insurance investigator yours truly,
- 15:18Johnny Dollar. From Special Investigator Johnny Dollar, Location, New Orleans,
- 15:37Louisiana to the Home Office Universal Adjustment Bureau, Hertford, Connecticut. Assignment the
- 15:43phantom chase matter expense account continue a NUM five three point fifty kmv fair to
- 15:50the airport. George Everson was waiting for me at the passenger ramp. I'll
- 15:56tell you, mister Dollar, before I came out here to the airport,
- 15:58I called the insurance company you represent in this investigation. Oh. I told
- 16:03him, if this pipped in New Orleans did turn out to be just a
- 16:04wild goose chase, that I would assume you're expenses. Oh well, that's
- 16:07very considerate of you, mister Everson, but it is necessary now. Investigations
- 16:12an investigation. My company is willing and anxious to exhaust all the possibilities.
- 16:18And from what you tell me, it's a good possibility that Tom Chase is
- 16:21hiding in New Orleans. Well I hope, so, say, Look,
- 16:23I've still got a minute or two before my plane loads. I want to
- 16:26make sure I've got all the facts straight. All right. Tom Chase was
- 16:30your junior partner. He began to specialize in those clients of yours who made
- 16:33long term investments, right, one of them decided to sell out suddenly,
- 16:37and you discovered there was a lot less in his account than they should have
- 16:41been. He ordered and ordered, and found that other accounts of Tom's had
- 16:44been juggled too, to the tune of one hundred and twenty thousand dollars roughly.
- 16:48He was arrested but wouldn't talk. He got out on bail and jumped
- 16:51his bail and disappeared. Yes, all right. His wife La says that
- 16:55for some time before that he was moody, intense. Well, look,
- 17:00I didn't mention this to her, but I will tell you. Do you
- 17:03have any reason to think that Chase was interested in another woman? No,
- 17:07no reason at all, Good Lord, mister Dollar. With a wife like
- 17:10Lola, a man would be out of his mind to even think of anyone
- 17:12else. Well, I'm just mentioning a possibility, mister Everson. H I
- 17:17know, and I suppose that always is a possibility and embezzlement cases, but
- 17:22I certainly hope not in this one. The whole thing's been hard enough on
- 17:26Lola as it did. Yeah, did you tell her about the newspaper picture
- 17:27and that I'm going to New Orleans. No, I decided not to mention
- 17:30it to her for the present. I didn't want to get her hopes up,
- 17:34although heaven no, she doesn't have much to hope for under the circumstances.
- 17:38Yeah, oh, well, my planes loading for so long, mister
- 17:42Everson. If best of luck, mister Dollar, I'll be waiting for word
- 17:45from you. Don't come on much. Oh, people have hit the jackpot
- 17:48on the first nickel, I know, but oftener than not they turn up
- 17:52three lemons instead expense on them six one hundred and fourteen dollars. There was
- 18:00transportation and incidentals to New Orleans. I checked in at the hotel and headed
- 18:03for the quarter. It hadn't changed much, maybe a little more neon here
- 18:11and there, But the same streets, the same lattice work, the same
- 18:15noises. Then, as I was walking along the sidewalk, something came hurtling
- 18:19down through the air at me. I jumped to one side. It was
- 18:22a basket at the end of a rope. A man from a little grocery
- 18:26store came out, put some food in the basket, and the lady in
- 18:29the upstairs window hold it up again. No, the quarter hadn't changed much.
- 18:33It was after dark when I located ASA's Castle, a bar that had
- 18:37been shown in the New York newspaper. There how many people inside, A
- 18:45few couples scattered around, a single or two at the bar, the bartender,
- 18:48and over in one corner of a small band making slow said music.
- 18:52I went over to the bar. Evening soon, hie Scotson sort of praise
- 19:02a little slow tonight. Huh it's early, it'll pick up. Yeah.
- 19:06Nice. This is the bar that was in the New York newspaper picture,
- 19:11isn't it. Yes, this is the place that must have been good for
- 19:15business tourists. This isn't the tourist spot. What kind of a spot?
- 19:19Isn't People from around the street here come in, have a drink or two,
- 19:25nurse their own private troubles. All forget them and listen to pops hops
- 19:30pops hawker, the old man over there with the trumpet. Oh hey,
- 19:34he plays like he means he does. Do you mind taking a look at
- 19:38this newspaper picture? So what about it? Well, this guy in the
- 19:44background sitting at the bar, Yeah, know him? Not particularly? What
- 19:49do you mean not particular? I mean a lot of guys come in here,
- 19:53should I know all of them? All? Right? Here, here's
- 19:56a front view of the man I'm looking for. Recognize him? Afraid,
- 20:03Nasir, afraid, I can't help you ever. Hear the name Tom Chase?
- 20:07Chase? Not that I remember this man in the newspaper picture? Is
- 20:12his name Tom Chase? Well could be, I'm not sure. Well,
- 20:17if he's around the street somewhere, you'll probably run into him sooner or later.
- 20:19How do you think it people on the street don't leave it much?
- 20:23Well, if it's on huh, I suppose sort of an upside down world,
- 20:29But a world I guess seems to be what they want. Sir,
- 20:33you think if my friend Tom Chase is here on the street somewhere or he's
- 20:36lable to stay, most of them do. And it looks like you're gonna
- 20:40have a steady customer for a while. We can always use him. Why
- 20:44don't you go talk to Pops, the old boy playing the trumpet there.
- 20:47He's got quite a memory. Maybe he could help you. Thanks. I
- 20:49welcome. Pop was way off and never never land. He looked as old
- 20:56as after. He wore dark glasses, and the horn he was blowing looked
- 21:02like he either found it or made it real cool, Pops, Thank you,
- 21:12Daddy. Me and the boys just warm enough. That wasn't warm up?
- 21:18What what it used to be? Well, still hold up for a
- 21:22while, I guess I think it will. Yeah, you talk to that
- 21:26horn real pretty, you'd win on talk back to the cow's daddy. Hey,
- 21:33look, maybe you can help me, Pops. You got troubles in
- 21:36a way. I'm looking for somebody. Oh, lots people got troubles,
- 21:40daddy. No, that's not quite what I mean. It's a well,
- 21:42it's a fellow named Tom Chase. Have you heard the name around here?
- 21:48Cheese? There was a side man in Chicago once named Tom Chase. No,
- 21:53in the twenties was no, Sorry, wrong Chase. So the one
- 21:56I'm looking for is under forty only Tom, I remember what was doing?
- 22:03You been around here much? What are you looking for? Maybe? What
- 22:07kind of voice he got? Why? Don't know why I remember voices?
- 22:12Fire is? Maybe I remembers. Well, look I can do better than
- 22:15that. Perhaps I got a picture right here. I don't do me no
- 22:21good? Why not? I'm blinded basin street doors. I think I knew
- 22:38now why he could blow the kind of music he did. It had to
- 22:42make up for a lot of things. I guess it was the only way
- 22:47he could see Adam seven two dollars drinks for me. I sat there and
- 22:53asis canceled for a couple of hours, waiting, waiting for Tom Chase to
- 22:57show up, off the guy who looked like him to show so I know
- 23:02for sure whether this was a wild Bose chase. But nothing happened. A
- 23:06few people sawly drifted in and out. Mostly they huddled around Pops Harker,
- 23:10nursing their drinks and listening. It got to me midnight and I just about
- 23:14decided to give up when a man with a face like a weasel slid into
- 23:17the chair across the table from it. You're named Galla, Johnny Dalla.
- 23:21That's right. Who are you, pretty, queen Tanner? So so you
- 23:23should be glad to see me? Should I any particular reason? Quin Tanna,
- 23:27Oh the beast, it's around the street. It's you're looking for somebody.
- 23:30Dollar. News travels first. Yeah, when it's really interesting, news
- 23:33like that, Oh what's so interesting about it? Whenever I smell though,
- 23:37it is always interesting. Well, maybe I nose it's too sensitive or too
- 23:41long. There was no mention of money. Look hopping around dollar. Oh,
- 23:45I don't doubt that's. Yeah. A lot of people who clued around
- 23:48the street and accorded don't want to be found. So a guy comes looking
- 23:52for somebody, it usually costs him a little money to find him. Nice,
- 23:55and you're looking for a guy named calm Chase. So so I think
- 24:00I got him. Pig worse, not so face, dollard, not so
- 24:03faced. First we talk money. You're wrong, their friend? What you
- 24:06mean? First we make sure you know what you're talking about. Now look,
- 24:08now you look, I've bumped into a lot of characters like you,
- 24:11and more than a fair share of them. We're just trying to asten too
- 24:14a deal for a fans buck without Kenny, Kenny, I got the guy
- 24:15pigs describe him. Yeah, so good deal. Probably a good looking guy
- 24:21when he shaves, curly hair, brown eyes. How am I doing?
- 24:23Not bad? But I take a lot of convincing. Look, you're looking
- 24:26for this guy. You just want to talk about it. I just want
- 24:29proof. Okay, I'll get bring him here. That'll be prooven enough.
- 24:33You kidding? You eat that eating? You knew it. This guy didn't
- 24:37want to be fine. I know that the minute I spotty. He's going
- 24:40under the name of Tom James. Tom James, Yeah, bring a bed.
- 24:45Maybe his full name is Thomas James Chase. He could be using the
- 24:49first two names as another alias. Sure, yeah, that's a familiar pattern.
- 24:53Okay, Quentina, suppose you do give me some proof. What do
- 24:56you want? Five hundred bucks? Oh that's a lot of mone I think
- 25:00he wants Chase. I'd have to get an okay for my company. You
- 25:03could arrange it, maybe maybe, And that brings us back to the question
- 25:07of proof again. I'll be back an hour dollar which proof? Yeah,
- 25:18okay, what is the boss? And man you was talking to me?
- 25:22He's a bad one. I can tell him his verse. Daddy, Yeah,
- 25:27I know what you mean. You don't want to mess around with a
- 25:30bad one like that. Unfortunately, he could have something I need. Is
- 25:36that the reason? Oh? Well, maybe not a good one, but
- 25:37it's part of my job. Maybe you got yourself the wrong kind of job
- 25:42then, Daddy. You know, Pops, sometimes I think you're right.
- 25:56I don't know. Freddie right back on time with the goods too. Yeah,
- 26:00take a look, so I'll crumpled up what is smooth it out?
- 26:03I think it's a letter he started writing and threw it away. Where'd you
- 26:07get it? I paid a little visit to his room when he was out,
- 26:10I pieced it out of the waist back. Lola, when you get
- 26:15this, I'll be far away. Don't try to find me. It's better
- 26:18this way. I don't know how to explain, but ends there. Well,
- 26:22what you think is he your boy? I can tell you in about
- 26:26ten seconds. I fished the sample of Chase's handwriting out of my pocket and
- 26:33compared it to the half finished letter. I'm no expert, but I didn't
- 26:38have to be. There was no doubt about it. It was Chase's handwriting.
- 26:44So it looked as though my trip was going to pay off after all.
- 26:47Som Chase was right here in New Orleans. Now here's our star to
- 27:07tell you about the next exciting episode of this story. There's a little game
- 27:11of chance called Dealer's Choice. Fine until the dealer gets dealt out the hard
- 27:15way. Join us, won't you yours truly? Johnny Dollar? Yours truly?
- 27:33Johnny Dollar is Stirring. Bob Bailey is transcribed in Hollywood. Written by
- 27:37Robert Rife, It is produced and directed by Jack Johnstone. Be sure to
- 27:41join us tomorrow night at same time in station for the next exciting episode of
- 27:45Yours Truly. Johnny Dollar roy Rowan speaking welcome back. I had kind of
- 28:47a head slapping moment when Johnny asked the guy with the dark glasses, who
- 28:53was clearly the stereotypical blond jazz musician, offered to show him the picture.
- 29:00I don't know, maybe folks listening to it may have missed it. It
- 29:04was also interesting that kind of the narration we get as we go into part
- 29:08two, New Orleans hadn't changed much, would kind of indicate that it's been
- 29:15a while since Johnny has been in New Orleans, but it hasn't relatively been
- 29:19that long. In fact, Johnny was in New Orleans longtime listeners will remember
- 29:25for the Valentine Matter, just about a year ago. At any rate,
- 29:29we're just at the beginning of this story, so we'll continue on Wednesday now.
- 29:33Listener comments, and this comes from Steven asking Bull whether we would run
- 29:38Bulldog Drumming and Boston Blackie. We have Boston Blackie planned on deck as soon
- 29:45as we finish up with Nick Carter, which is still quite a ways away.
- 29:52We're probably about a year and a half or thereabouts away from finishing Nick
- 29:56Carter The Bulldog Drumming I'll have to be admitted. I listen to it,
- 30:04and truth be told, the show just seem boring to me, so will
- 30:10not end up playing a bulldog drumming radio show. Doesn't mean that I wouldn't
- 30:15be open to doing some bulldog drumming video theaters. It's I've not quite got
- 30:22around to watching the bulldog drumming movies yet, but I will take a look
- 30:30at them and see if they might be good. But the yeah, the
- 30:33audio of the show just really did not appeal to me. So all right,
- 30:37Well that'll do it for today. As I said Wednesday, we continue
- 30:41on with the Phantom Chase matter, and be sure and join us tomorrow as
- 30:45we bring you the Casebook of Gregory Hood. In the meantime, send your
