Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_01: I'm glad our audience knows Mark Twain better than I do because I just had somebody text me two things that are really great ideas for the festival that doesn't exist, but I want it to is I forgot that he was also uh comedian.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: So they said have comedians.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: He also was into cigars.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Now you got me.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Now there's the hook.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Because if you had a big comedy, uh, you know, surpr big comedy event at the end, then you've got me.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Because up until the point dressing as Mark Twain, getting a big mustache, and then sitting down and reading Hug Finn bores the ever-living hell out of me.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: I said bed races! Well, okay, that's got that's good.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: So if you go with the absurd and the funny, now the masses will come along.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying many people don't read.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Well, look around you.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Do you think they do?
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: But I'm just saying if that was gonna be your grand finale, now we're gonna sit at the VFW and all read Mark Twain.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Uh no.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: They said, yeah, good comedians because he was into comedy.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: He was also into cigars.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: You could do like a cigar room or cigar like night or whatever.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: It'd be nice to smell a different kind of smoke in downtown Elmira than what you normally smell.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Hi oh.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Let me ask you about this collaboration.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Which one?
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Would you be into it?
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: So uh have you heard what's going on with Dunkin' Donuts and LL Bean?
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Weird mix, right?
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, I just went to LL Bean last year when I went to on that New England vacation.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: So there was a limited editioned edition miniature coffee sweater.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, one of our listeners sent the they DM'd this to us.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Okay, did you know there's a human-sized version of this?
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: It looks itchy.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what it is.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: It's pink, it's chunky.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: It is very pink.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Uh with like an orange, um, it's like orange on the wrists and the neck.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So most stores ran out of the little coffee sweaters in about 90 minutes, they're saying.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, everybody wanted it.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: It's cute, it's funny, all right?
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: All right, that I get.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Would you spend$80 on the boat and tote bag or$59 on the coffee-sized tote uh for$24 human-sized sweater,$80?
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: LL Bean.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: It's a lot of pink.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: When I went in there, it's so expensive.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: They have real I mean, you you know what they're known for is their duck boot.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: So they have a big duck boot.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: I thought they were known for their backpacks, to be honest with you.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: No, they have this, you know the the little, like they're water, waterproof little boots.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: And they are kind of like a mustardy yellow at the bottom.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: So I thought, I'll get a pair.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: Then I saw it was like$250.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: The what?
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: So no My feet can stay wet.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Three, two, one.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: You're listening to Scott and Allie.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Scott and Allie's big three.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: No, I mean, I I think it's really cute, the little coffee sweater.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: That's that's cute.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: You know, it's a cute little thing to have.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: It'll end up being left on a counter somewhere, so you know, eventually down the road, but kind of a disposable thing.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: The cute.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: I don't need to pay$80 to be itchy.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Oh, the big sweater, though.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: The big three brought to you by E and V Energy.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Call them for your heating needs for your home farm or business.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: They're the no-fee fuel company.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Um, if you thought that voting was a little rigged, I think this story is gonna go.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: See, rigged, it's rigged, told you.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: A Utah postal worker is being charged with throwing away more than 300 ballots.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Not the first time we've heard stories like this.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: No, and honestly, they were found in a church parking lot, and the guy just said, I wanted to go home.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Oh, no, that just got sad.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right?
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: I don't want to work anymore.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: It's too long.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: And those guys work so hard.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: I feel bad.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: And the at Christmas time, oh my gosh.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: At Christmas delivery and mail ballots, no, I'm going home.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: I'm telling you, the letter carriers all around my neighborhood are working all hours.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: It's like, wow.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: When they got those little flashlights on their heads, I'm like, do you need some hot cocoa?
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: And Waymo isn't doing their job quite right because there's a new video showing this Waymo robo taxi that drove through a uh a farmer's market.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: The thing about that was, you know, there's signs usually on a farmer's market saying closed off.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, road closed, yeah.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: But this one, it was so some of the vendors could come through.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: So it's not like it did the wrong thing.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: But it sounds like way more problems than they need.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Yep, no one was hurt, but the incident does bring up some safety concerns.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Law enforcement says no laws were broken.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: And police in Oxford.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: No, no, just some arms and legs.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: No one was hurt.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: No one was hurt.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Police in Oxford, Mississippi are investigating the deaths of two University of Mississippi students after finding packaged kratom during both investigations.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: The students died Monday.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Authorities have not determined how they died or whether the deaths are actually connected to that.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: But investigators are stressing they have no confirmed evidence about the Kratom, but they are seeing, you know, they're obviously going to do toxicology reports and see if there is a connection to this.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: And there's the big three.
