- 1:26Speaker 1: little bit. We had our boo at the zoo, which
- 1:29Speaker 1: we cannot wait to talk about how awesome that was
- 1:31Speaker 1: for all the PT sixers showing up. What else do
- 1:34Speaker 1: we have? We have values homework at the end of
- 1:37Speaker 1: the episode for our quote topic lesson a couple of
- 1:39Speaker 1: weeks ago, we challenged the PT sixers are throwing some comments.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Write some comments for values they want their child to
- 1:46Speaker 1: know throughout life. Yes, some of their favorite values that
- 1:49Speaker 1: they would like to instill. So that'll be fun. We
- 1:51Speaker 1: have a hot line six and one of the dads
- 1:53Speaker 1: if you want to be featured on the show. We

- 2:11Speaker 1: a true Papa Team six or maybe you're a Seman
- 2:14Speaker 1: Team six, or maybe you're not, maybe you're not having
- 2:16Speaker 1: a kid yet, or you're not a father and you're
- 2:18Speaker 1: just part of Semen Team six. St six Chef Jack,
- 2:21Speaker 1: he is the leader of that of that army. But
- 2:24Speaker 1: go shop in our merch store bwtv dot com. Am
- 2:28Speaker 1: I missing anything?
- 2:29Speaker 2: I don't think you're missing anything. Six oh one. The
- 2:32Speaker 2: Dad's at gmail dot com for our international listeners that
- 2:35Speaker 2: want to call in, but maybe it's a little expensive.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Six on one. The dads at gmail dot com write
- 2:40Speaker 2: us an email, and we love reading those on the show.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yes, like we enjoy reading everything on the show. Comments,
- 2:47Speaker 1: engagement on social media, the comments under our YouTube channel
- 2:51Speaker 1: under each episode, we love to dive into those. We
- 2:54Speaker 1: are going to start moving some of those toward the
- 2:56Speaker 1: back instead of taking up so much of the bulk
- 2:58Speaker 1: of the front of the episode. So bear with us.
- 3:00Speaker 1: We're always working through the kings here for the Dead's
- 3:02Speaker 1: very small channel right now, but one day, boys, it'll
- 3:05Speaker 1: be big, really big, all right, especially if it has
- 3:08Speaker 1: any If there's any correlation to the PT sixers that
- 3:11Speaker 1: showed up to Boo with the Zoo.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Dude, the Boo at the Zoo could not have gone
- 3:19Speaker 2: any better, any better. And I'm driving over and I
- 3:21Speaker 2: just a little bit of anxiety. Yeah, like anxiety. I'm like,
- 3:27Speaker 2: you know, Will, what are your expectations here? You're doing
- 3:29Speaker 2: a meetup. You're not doing like a meet and greet.
- 3:31Speaker 2: It's not like a.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Signing photographs something that was very pre planned and and
- 3:39Speaker 1: advertised all over the place. What are you expecting coming
- 3:42Speaker 1: to this Boo with the Zoo while you get the families?
- 3:44Speaker 1: I'm driving over it. I my expectations that I put
- 3:47Speaker 1: in my head is we might have two families that
- 3:49Speaker 1: show up. I know, and I know one of them
- 3:51Speaker 1: and it was Alan the barber. Yeah, it was my
- 3:53Speaker 1: guy Allan over at Culture Cuts. He already texted, Hey,
- 3:56Speaker 1: we're coming. I'm like, hell you, I'm fired up. And
- 3:58Speaker 1: that kind of gave me. It's like, no, no matter what,
- 4:00Speaker 1: we'll have one. The boys at the shop are going, yep,
- 4:03Speaker 1: we'll just have a good time if nobody shows up.
- 4:06Speaker 1: But then show up, and there were quite a those
- 4:09Speaker 1: are quite quite a bit.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Of people quite a bit of people. Derek, thank you
- 4:13Speaker 2: so much. Yeah, I was really really pleasantly surprised. I
- 4:19Speaker 2: told myself that, like the number, and I'm talking in
- 4:22Speaker 2: total busting with the boys, everybody, if we need everybody.
- 4:26Speaker 2: If we had fifty people there there, I was going
- 4:30Speaker 2: to be blown away.
- 4:31Speaker 1: How many fifty?
- 4:33Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah, And I count the group picture, which was like
- 4:36Speaker 2: minus the lul Wan family, there were.
- 4:39Speaker 1: A few there like I saw, I saw, I think
- 4:41Speaker 1: I saw comments or two of like we just missed
- 4:43Speaker 1: it because we were there early.
- 4:45Speaker 2: There were two different couples that got there just a
- 4:48Speaker 2: little too early or not too early, but they got
- 4:51Speaker 2: there a little early the group photos. So those two couples,
- 4:54Speaker 2: the Luwan family, and then there were like four or
- 4:58Speaker 2: five busting with the boys guys that were in the
- 5:00Speaker 2: group photo either. If you count the group photo, it
- 5:03Speaker 2: was like forty six forty seven, so we went above
- 5:07Speaker 2: fifty blown away. I was blown away.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I don't anytime we kind of talked about it or
- 5:13Speaker 1: spoke about it, I just I was always like expectations
- 5:16Speaker 1: low low boys, ain't nobody show and it's kind of
- 5:18Speaker 1: raining outside, it's cloud, it's a little kit it was.
- 5:20Speaker 2: It was an ugly night, ugly night that turned into
- 5:23Speaker 2: a beautiful night.
- 5:24Speaker 1: PT sixers showed up, Bro.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Huge special shout out to And I can't remember everyone's names.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I wish i'd have my notesap out and just had
- 5:35Speaker 2: typed in names of families. But met Steve and his wife,
- 5:40Speaker 2: met Alec and his wife. And what I was blown
- 5:43Speaker 2: away in that conversation were the MT sixers. Yeah, that
- 5:49Speaker 2: were sick of where's Jilly Bean? Yeah, we're starting.
- 5:52Speaker 1: We loved Jill.
- 5:54Speaker 2: We loved Jill. We want to meet Jill. Where's Jill?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Jill and I are just alike?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, I love that. And they were sickos for
- 6:06Speaker 2: the show. Yeah, thank you so much for what you
- 6:09Speaker 2: are doing. Buddy came about I forget his name, but.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Dressed as Willie one shelf Joe Siah, Joe Siah.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Get themedia.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It's comedian Discovery on social media.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yes, go follow comedian Discovery on social media.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yes, we need to pull up his official tag because
- 6:29Speaker 2: it's like Nashville Comedian Discovery. He's in our comments all
- 6:35Speaker 2: the time.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Oh, he's a pos, He's a Tier one. He had
- 6:37Speaker 1: the four the deads At, he had a Papa Team
- 6:39Speaker 1: six shared on he had a shelf around his waist
- 6:42Speaker 1: with a form energy on it, a liquid IV packet.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Like, and as I'm walking up to the zoo, he's
- 6:48Speaker 2: already in the will called I thought it was you.
- 6:52Speaker 2: He has Comedian Discovery and then Comedian Discovery Live.
- 6:55Speaker 1: That seemed both to be We got a photo too, chefs.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I'll send that to you so that way you can
- 7:00Speaker 1: put it up on the episode.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah, they do have a good pick together, but it
- 7:03Speaker 2: just blown away. Dude, and the little ones. There were
- 7:06Speaker 2: two little ones that were born on July fourth, the
- 7:10Speaker 2: day after Scarlet. I got to talk to those dats.
- 7:13Speaker 2: That was incredible of like, bro, we're every step of
- 7:17Speaker 2: the way together, Like every single thing that you're talking
- 7:19Speaker 2: about each week is exactly what I'm going through. And
- 7:23Speaker 2: it makes the show so much fun because it's like,
- 7:26Speaker 2: oh my gosh, yes, yeah, Sherman, tell them what you're
- 7:30Speaker 2: going through, because that's me trying to tell people what
- 7:32Speaker 2: I'm going Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 1: It was it was all time and kind of a
- 7:36Speaker 1: balance too, because I could feel the like Rue wanting
- 7:42Speaker 1: to go into the zoo. Yeah, I feel the family
- 7:44Speaker 1: dynamic of like are we gonna get going into the
- 7:46Speaker 1: zoo because I'm talking to everybody. Part of me is
- 7:49Speaker 1: wanting to bring everybody in and give like a thank
- 7:51Speaker 1: you speech, and then I'm nervous because it's like the
- 7:54Speaker 1: whole public speaking thing. Yeah, so I'm all right, let
- 7:56Speaker 1: me just try to talk to as many people as
- 7:57Speaker 1: I can. Maybe that'll be good enough. Then as I'm
- 8:01Speaker 1: talking to as many people as I can, my wife like, Hey,
- 8:03Speaker 1: are we gonna go? Rus really wanting to go into.
- 8:05Speaker 2: The zoo and their kids like dad did, come on,
- 8:08Speaker 2: we gotta go in y o our et siko friends
- 8:11Speaker 2: like I see their kids are pulling their hands like
- 8:14Speaker 2: YO were going or what? Yeah, Like if we're gonna shoot,
- 8:17Speaker 2: we gotta shake them. Essentially, yes, and so it was
- 8:21Speaker 2: all time.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Thank you guys so much who ever showed up, everybody
- 8:23Speaker 1: who showed up to Boot the Zoo. We will do
- 8:25Speaker 1: more meetups in the future. That was our very first
- 8:27Speaker 1: one trying to embrace Pootober. The turnout was incredible and
- 8:31Speaker 1: exceeded expectations and all the support from the boys uh
- 8:35Speaker 1: here at the shop go was was awesome. But great
- 8:38Speaker 1: time Boo with the Zoo, Great time booth the zoo.
- 8:41Speaker 1: We had to we almost made it to the trigger
- 8:43Speaker 1: treating part, and but that was one where I saw
- 8:45Speaker 1: the trigger treating and I was like, if we enter
- 8:48Speaker 1: into this, it's gonna it's gonna get bad very quickly,
- 8:52Speaker 1: because you're starting to push around bedtime, dinner time. Kids
- 8:56Speaker 1: hadn't really eaten Papa bet sixer right here, didn't pack
- 8:59Speaker 1: a bob, So.
- 9:01Speaker 2: I wasn't like, been there, yeah, been there, yeah.
- 9:05Speaker 1: So you know, I didn't know, like because it's like,
- 9:07Speaker 1: all right, we were gonna start five fifteen, five thirty
- 9:09Speaker 1: five to forty five, so I will probably go around
- 9:11Speaker 1: an hour and then we'll be on our way home.
- 9:14Speaker 1: We'll get home by seven. Not realizing that booth the
- 9:16Speaker 1: Zoo was like thirty five minutes away from my house.
- 9:19Speaker 1: So getting over there, I'm like, sweetheart, we have to leave,
- 9:22Speaker 1: like we're supposed to be taking the photo, Like I'm
- 9:24Speaker 1: already behind five thirty, Like this is this is the
- 9:27Speaker 1: event that we put on. We've got to get going.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Ruse pissed off because she wore this fairy costume. This
- 9:33Speaker 1: dress was like massive, and she's got this crown kind
- 9:38Speaker 1: of like not like a heavy crown, but not the
- 9:40Speaker 1: plastic crown. So it was a little bit more dense.
- 9:43Speaker 1: So I'm trying to get her in the car seat.
- 9:45Speaker 1: And as I get around the door to lift her
- 9:47Speaker 1: up put her in. I pick her up, her head
- 9:49Speaker 1: hits the ceiling in the car bro so the crown
- 9:52Speaker 1: just like goes down on her head.
- 9:54Speaker 2: She's crying and Mom's not out there yet.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I'm like, sweetheart, we just got to get She's like,
- 10:00Speaker 1: it hurts, it hurts something.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Do you want to take it off? Do you want
- 10:02Speaker 2: to take off the ground?
- 10:02Speaker 4: No?
- 10:02Speaker 1: I want to leave it. Okay, then we gotta figure
- 10:05Speaker 1: out what's what's step two here? We gotta get you
- 10:07Speaker 1: in the car seat. It's too tight, sweetheart. You're wearing
- 10:10Speaker 1: this dress. It's gonna be tight. This is what you
- 10:12Speaker 1: you wanted this dress.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Charles like, what happened? What happened? I'll be stung her.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 10:16Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Don't take her danger.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Hey cause she got the stuff, the fluff coming up
- 10:24Speaker 2: on the shoulders.
- 10:24Speaker 1: You're trying to strap her in the car seat, the
- 10:26Speaker 1: costumes like my chim, I shouldn't you know how We're
- 10:29Speaker 1: just everything's.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Got to be off of her face.
- 10:31Speaker 1: She's like her daddy, Yeah, yeah, yeah, everything's got to
- 10:33Speaker 1: be off of her face, and it's this massive costume.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I'm trying to get the bottom part of the buckle
- 10:38Speaker 1: like I'm like squeezing to get strapped down. I'll loosen
- 10:40Speaker 1: it up here in a second, Just give me a second.
- 10:43Speaker 1: And it was a whole shebang, it Sweeter. We have
- 10:45Speaker 1: to we have to go, We have to leave.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I wish that we had a camera on that. And
- 10:50Speaker 2: the young household we were in the exact same shambles. Shambles.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Jill gets the Academy Award like Legacy Academy Award for
- 10:57Speaker 2: having the best attitude once we got there, but I
- 11:00Speaker 2: too showed up. Hey are we ready? Well, when when
- 11:04Speaker 2: do we need to get Well, we need to get
- 11:05Speaker 2: there kind of early. Why aren't you texting me and
- 11:07Speaker 2: tell me that we need to get there kind of early?
- 11:09Speaker 2: You're just telling me right now, honey. I understand that
- 11:11Speaker 2: my communication could have been better, But you need to
- 11:13Speaker 2: get in the shower.
- 11:14Speaker 1: You need to get your She was probably get stuff
- 11:18Speaker 1: to the other shere and probably slowly walks over to her. Hey,
- 11:24Speaker 1: that was on me. She was probably just sitting there
- 11:27Speaker 1: in her mind like I know what it was, Like,
- 11:29Speaker 1: what else do you have to say. He's like, sorry, I'm.
- 11:33Speaker 2: On all fours. I'm already bowing. I'm already bowing, just
- 11:36Speaker 2: saying we got a hurry and this is my fault
- 11:39Speaker 2: and I'm so sorry and I love you.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Just wasting more time with your apologies.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but we we Hey, we got there, We
- 11:45Speaker 2: got there.
- 11:46Speaker 1: How how long did you guys make it? Dude?
- 11:49Speaker 2: We bet we made it quite a long time. Because
- 11:52Speaker 2: we were trying to keep Scarlet on a later sleep
- 11:56Speaker 2: schedule going into daylight savings, so we're part we're moving
- 12:00Speaker 2: her bedtime closer and closer to eight pm Central so
- 12:03Speaker 2: that when the time flip happened, she's back to seven o'clock.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And heady play all the young dads out there, all
- 12:10Speaker 1: the young dads out there.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a dad hack. That's you know, that comes
- 12:13Speaker 2: from Jill. That was her game plan. But I couldn't
- 12:18Speaker 2: give you an exact time. It was definitely past seven o'clock.
- 12:22Speaker 2: You made the greatest play of all time. We saw
- 12:24Speaker 2: the comptons leaving and we got to say bye to them,
- 12:27Speaker 2: and I'm like, hey, should we head out too, because
- 12:30Speaker 2: her you know, bedtime fee time, Scarlet needs to go
- 12:34Speaker 2: down pretty soon, and Jill and I end up going, well,
- 12:37Speaker 2: there's probably an exit through the trigger, treating like there's
- 12:40Speaker 2: probably a faster way to the exit. We'll just go
- 12:42Speaker 2: through there. Biggest mistake because you get it's like you
- 12:46Speaker 2: walk through the zoo.
- 12:46Speaker 1: There were two crossroads. You go right or left coming
- 12:49Speaker 1: out of the jont Yeah, Rue was dead set on
- 12:51Speaker 1: going right. There's a monster down there. I gotta go
- 12:53Speaker 1: see it. Yeah, sweetheart, the entire group is going left
- 12:57Speaker 1: and we have to go left.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Can I just tell the myspect of it, because I
- 13:00Speaker 4: think I have a good Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Chef was sitting there from afar seeing kind of the
- 13:07Speaker 1: this intense negotiation going down, and it had to be
- 13:10Speaker 1: fast because we're already trying to move. It's like, hey,
- 13:12Speaker 1: we got to get going to the zoo.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 4: So the way that the Boon Zoo works, it's a
- 13:15Speaker 4: big loop and you split. You can go left or right.
- 13:18Speaker 4: And I'm talking to Will. I forget what we're talking about.
- 13:21Speaker 4: But we get to this cross and we're kind of
- 13:22Speaker 4: deciding where we're going to go. Everyone in the group's
- 13:24Speaker 4: kind of like consensus is we're going left, and Uh,
- 13:29Speaker 4: all of a sudden, I see I see Rue looking
- 13:31Speaker 4: down the right side, locked, I mean staring, and she's locked.
- 13:39Speaker 4: I want to go, and then she's starting to say
- 13:41Speaker 4: like I want to go that way and I can.
- 13:42Speaker 4: I look up and I see Will going no. No.
- 13:44Speaker 3: When you go left and she goes. You could see
- 13:47Speaker 3: that instantly.
- 13:48Speaker 2: That was not It was like Ru's dying on the hill.
- 13:52Speaker 4: It's like when the world leaders in the sixties were
- 13:55Speaker 4: getting together and talking about nuclear disarmament, but neither one
- 13:58Speaker 4: one to back down.
- 13:59Speaker 2: You can see them.
- 14:01Speaker 4: For the first time since working here, I saw panic
- 14:03Speaker 4: on my boss's face.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Pure panic.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Was goings Cuba. The missiles are coming to our island.
- 14:13Speaker 4: You need to take years out of Turkey before we
- 14:15Speaker 4: do anything in Cuba.
- 14:17Speaker 3: That was what was happening.
- 14:18Speaker 4: And then so I feel like I made a heavy
- 14:20Speaker 4: play to get I was standing right in front of
- 14:23Speaker 4: all of it, like maybe like three ft. I decided
- 14:26Speaker 4: to walk around kind of do like a little let's
- 14:29Speaker 4: let Will Will and Charo, you know, negotiate further. And
- 14:34Speaker 4: then we ended up going into what's it called with
- 14:35Speaker 4: all the reptiles and stuff.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know the name of that exhibit, but
- 14:40Speaker 2: it's one of their newer exhibits.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Reptile, Yeah, the spiders and the fun stuff.
- 14:45Speaker 4: I went in there with like Jack, Matt and Ge
- 14:49Speaker 4: and then I come back out and I'm like, we're
- 14:51Speaker 4: you know.
- 14:51Speaker 3: We meet up with everyone else and they're like, oh,
- 14:52Speaker 3: the contents. They might have gotten out a little.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Yeah, we should have followed suit.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Well it's not. There's an entire group. We were obviously
- 15:02Speaker 1: in a pack for a minute. It's like, you know,
- 15:03Speaker 1: how is the whole boot, how's the old zoo experience
- 15:06Speaker 1: gonna work out for everybody? At the same time, you
- 15:08Speaker 1: want everybody to stay in the group, have fun. We're laughing,
- 15:09Speaker 1: we're finding different things. Kiddos are being hilarious. But Ru
- 15:13Speaker 1: was lock step on going right. Finally get her to
- 15:16Speaker 1: go left, eventually telling her, Hey, there's gonna be monsters
- 15:18Speaker 1: around here, and I'm like, we're gonna see everything in
- 15:20Speaker 1: this park. We're gonna see everything. You go left, you
- 15:22Speaker 1: go right, doesn't matter, We're gonna see all of it.
- 15:24Speaker 1: We'll go left and we'll get to see the monsters last.
- 15:27Speaker 1: But there's a bunch of other monsters over here that
- 15:29Speaker 1: we gotta go see.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Monsters, candy friends. Yeah, I'm team roue. Yeah, I'm here
- 15:35Speaker 2: for you. Yeah.
- 15:36Speaker 1: And then I was like, we were like, oh, look
- 15:38Speaker 1: at that pumpkin up there, and it was just talking pumpkin.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Some some some workers are just switching throughout the day
- 15:43Speaker 1: and they're just sitting there's this pumpkin voice talking to
- 15:45Speaker 1: kids that come up the entire day.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 1: So we finally get going left where we're catching up
- 15:50Speaker 1: to the crew, but then there's this pumpkin that talks,
- 15:52Speaker 1: so ru has to talk to the pumpkin, has to
- 15:56Speaker 1: talk to the pumpkin. And I'm like, oh god, we
- 15:59Speaker 1: gotta keep it moving. Is this on your way out?
- 16:02Speaker 1: We stopped and talked to the pumpkin way out. Even
- 16:04Speaker 1: on the way in, we're trying to catch everybody else.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you know.
- 16:08Speaker 1: My wife's like, hey, you gotta we got to if
- 16:10Speaker 1: we want to get through. And then you're gonna have
- 16:12Speaker 1: to stop talking to so many people. And I'm like, sweetheart,
- 16:14Speaker 1: I'm with you, But what am I supposed to do?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Like they're pt sixers, Like people are being friendly saying
- 16:20Speaker 1: hello to me. I want to just brush them off,
- 16:22Speaker 1: like I want to engage, I want to talk to them.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I'm trying to keep it together. And then we get
- 16:28Speaker 1: to you know, we finally got to where it was
- 16:31Speaker 1: the trick or Treat and then there was the reptile
- 16:33Speaker 1: exhibit to where there was a bathroom in there. Rooue
- 16:36Speaker 1: had to go potty. She wants Dad added to take
- 16:38Speaker 1: her potty. So I walk her, walk her to this
- 16:41Speaker 1: stall and I'm in this small stall bro with this
- 16:43Speaker 1: massive dress on rue trying to figure it out, trying
- 16:47Speaker 1: to pick her up. I'm my sweetheart, you just have
- 16:48Speaker 1: to stand still for a second so I can get
- 16:50Speaker 1: this entire dress up. I'm like picking it all up.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And I'm picking her up. I'm setting her on the toilet.
- 16:55Speaker 2: It's like, no, you can't. The dress is gonna get
- 16:56Speaker 2: what the just gonna get wet. I was like, I'm trying.
- 16:59Speaker 2: You just gotta stay, but some guy's pooping in the
- 17:02Speaker 2: next Oh boy, we survived. This survived. Came out of
- 17:11Speaker 2: the stall. I was sweating. I'm washing my hands. She
- 17:15Speaker 2: doesn't do anything. Oh my god.
- 17:18Speaker 1: She's like, I want to wash my hands too. I'm like,
- 17:20Speaker 1: all right, you can wash your hands. I'm like, reach
- 17:21Speaker 1: up there, she said, I I can't reach it. I'm like,
- 17:23Speaker 1: all right, Dad's gonna have to pick you up. I
- 17:24Speaker 1: don't want you to pick me up. I'm like, I
- 17:26Speaker 1: don't know what. You're gonna have to grow along her arms. Rue,
- 17:28Speaker 1: if you want to get up under the water, I'm
- 17:29Speaker 1: gonna have to pick you up. How are you gonna
- 17:31Speaker 1: get up.
- 17:31Speaker 3: There to help me?
- 17:34Speaker 1: Yeah? A fellow dad walks outway, Hey, how you doing?
- 17:40Speaker 2: Just say it makes you appreciate that beginning part of
- 17:45Speaker 2: the PT six meetup, there was a single baby crying.
- 17:49Speaker 2: There wasn't a single kid freaking out. Everybody's like in
- 17:52Speaker 2: the best, dude, those those times are rare. It was
- 17:55Speaker 2: like time just stood still for a second. We all
- 17:58Speaker 2: got to mingle.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and she had said patience.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Chaos ensued. Yeah, chaos ensued, But that's that's life, that's parenting. Yeah,
- 18:05Speaker 2: was like, are you sure you.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Don't want we don't want to go through the trigger
- 18:08Speaker 1: treating thing. I was like, I think we need to
- 18:10Speaker 1: get home because Scotty will go sideways at some point. Yeah,
- 18:13Speaker 1: as long as we can get ahead start And also like,
- 18:16Speaker 1: ru's gonna be trigger treating on Friday. Yeah, she's gonna
- 18:19Speaker 1: get her. She doesn't need all the you know, she's
- 18:21Speaker 1: gonna have enough candy. Dad is gonna have enough candy.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I don't need all this candy. So we ended up believing.
- 18:26Speaker 1: But it was a great time.
- 18:27Speaker 2: It was great and Scarlet to the same point. It
- 18:31Speaker 2: took us forever to get out. We went through the
- 18:33Speaker 2: trigger treating loop. Huge mistake. Scarlet dide sach a good
- 18:36Speaker 2: job and the part she never cried. As soon as
- 18:39Speaker 2: we got to the car, it was complete mounthdown. Yeah,
- 18:42Speaker 2: whole car right home, just screaming and Jill's just sitting
- 18:46Speaker 2: back there holding her hands on driving. She's going. I
- 18:48Speaker 2: know that was not fair. Mom and Dad made you
- 18:50Speaker 2: stay up too late.
- 18:52Speaker 1: To talking to your little one, like as you're driving home,
- 18:54Speaker 1: shout out Ruge. She did a great job. As Scotty
- 18:56Speaker 1: was screaming as well. Ru's just kind of sitting in
- 18:59Speaker 1: the pocket.
- 19:00Speaker 2: She was helping.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Well, she'll like talk to her sometimes, but as far
- 19:03Speaker 1: as just sitting there patiently, like sometimes like when one's
- 19:06Speaker 1: going the other can start finding their lane to start
- 19:08Speaker 1: losing their mind too. Yeah, and was just doing a
- 19:11Speaker 1: she was doing a good job of just like staying
- 19:13Speaker 1: patient with us. Wanted to talk to MoMA. You know,
- 19:15Speaker 1: we're all talking back and forth we're trying to like
- 19:18Speaker 1: coach threw up, Hey, Scotty wants you to do this,
- 19:20Speaker 1: or Scotty would love if you saying to her, and
- 19:22Speaker 1: she'll like lean over and try to do a couple
- 19:24Speaker 1: of things, like it's not working. It's all right, sweet
- 19:27Speaker 1: we're almost home. Yeah, like fifteen minutes, Like yeah, fifteen
- 19:30Speaker 1: minutes actually on the dot. Oh now it's fourteen that's
- 19:33Speaker 1: a long time. I know, sweetheart, you're doing an incredible
- 19:36Speaker 1: job back there. She'll she'll get to that age.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I feel like four and five is where she's going
- 19:41Speaker 2: to become like an attachment of you guys all met. Yeah,
- 19:45Speaker 2: I'm seeing JJ really special. Shout out to JJ Klomp.
- 19:50Speaker 1: He shout out JJ Clump.
- 19:52Speaker 2: He is a son of one of our employees here,
- 19:55Speaker 2: Jeremy Klomp, and some of the PT six Sicks may
- 19:58Speaker 2: have met him at the meetup. I actually got invited
- 20:02Speaker 2: by the Clumps to go trick or treating with them
- 20:06Speaker 2: on Halloween night. Had to blast, But I think the
- 20:10Speaker 2: main takeaway from that night was JJ Clump just being
- 20:15Speaker 2: the ultimate big brother that I've ever seen truly as
- 20:18Speaker 2: a was he five Yeah, just best attitude ever During
- 20:24Speaker 2: the trick or treating. He's wanting to hold Jill's hand
- 20:27Speaker 2: the whole time, or my hand the way he treats
- 20:30Speaker 2: Jill and holds doors open, for the way he treats Scarlet.
- 20:35Speaker 2: He was asking for extra kid. He didn't know that
- 20:37Speaker 2: Scarlet was too young to have candy, but he was saying,
- 20:41Speaker 2: Scarlet's back in the street while we're t treating. So
- 20:44Speaker 2: these parents have no idea who Scarlet is. And JJKBS
- 20:48Speaker 2: trick or treat for Scarlet too. They're like, oh for Scarlet, Yeah,
- 20:52Speaker 2: I need one more candy for Scarlet. They're like, oh
- 20:55Speaker 2: for Scarlett, just like Jail, I got it. For Scarlet,
- 21:01Speaker 2: I got it. It's just like, dude, Halloween was so
- 21:06Speaker 2: it was so special to get to share that night
- 21:08Speaker 2: with the clumps because Scarlet's too young to trick or tree,
- 21:11Speaker 2: although she came along.
- 21:14Speaker 1: How fun is it though, just as a parent now
- 21:16Speaker 1: watching the little kid's trick or tree.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Dude, the magic is in the air. Halloween might be.
- 21:24Speaker 2: It was already at the top of my list. I
- 21:27Speaker 2: love Christmas, I love Fourth of July. But y'all know me,
- 21:31Speaker 2: I'll dress up. Oh sure, we need you to dress
- 21:34Speaker 2: up for this video? Oh, twist my arm. I love dress.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Halloween's your favorite holiday? I think it might be now
- 21:39Speaker 2: just seeing all the magic in the air. And maybe
- 21:41Speaker 2: once I have my first Fourth of July with a
- 21:43Speaker 2: bunch of kids, I'm gonna be like, all right, Fourth
- 21:45Speaker 2: of July is back on top for.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Those I have my first Fourth of July and I'm
- 21:49Speaker 1: giving a kid beer for the.
- 21:50Speaker 2: First I'm handing a bottle Rocket.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Don't tell your father.
- 21:56Speaker 4: We used to blow up Frau for reference for anyone
- 21:59Speaker 4: that's curious. Sherman on like the third day of October
- 22:02Speaker 4: came in and I guess, like a Yellowstone like Dutton
- 22:06Speaker 4: outfit and brought a twenty two gage with unloaded of
- 22:09Speaker 4: course unloaded unload. Yeah, Sherm's all in. He's bought in.
- 22:15Speaker 4: And if you guys watched yesterday's intro busting with the Boys,
- 22:19Speaker 4: if Taylor, I think if there ever was a guy
- 22:21Speaker 4: to do a spook off to take supreme reign of October,
- 22:26Speaker 4: and I don't think you would do it, but I wouldn't.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Gam would be the guy that would be He's the
- 22:30Speaker 4: He's the which Stark was it the.
- 22:33Speaker 3: King of the North?
- 22:35Speaker 4: John snow No Rob Yeah, he's sorry, he's not he
- 22:39Speaker 4: doesn't want the throne, but he.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Could have it.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yoh, Taylor is the king of Spooktober. I want
- 22:45Speaker 2: to be his prince of darkness, if that makes sense.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Like I I kneel, I kneel to Taylor and I
- 22:51Speaker 2: give him my sword. My sword is his.
- 22:54Speaker 1: This is a I see it more as a collective.
- 22:57Speaker 1: That's why you could be a prime you could be
- 22:59Speaker 1: a prime cat in spooped Over.
- 23:01Speaker 2: That's why I'm his prince of dark Like I'm I'm
- 23:05Speaker 2: a lord. Yeah, I'm a lord. Yeah, but I'm a
- 23:09Speaker 2: house young not taking over spoop Chover, not taking home.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I am joining. I'm a bannerman, thank you. I'm a
- 23:16Speaker 2: bannerman of the Luan house Chef.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I love how you just brought up the example and
- 23:21Speaker 1: immediately he's like, no, no, besinech you.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I could never but that. That was my Halloween, and
- 23:35Speaker 2: I would love to hear about yours. And I can
- 23:37Speaker 2: go into mind a bit more. But just seeing the
- 23:39Speaker 2: clumps operate, getting to hang out with the family, getting
- 23:42Speaker 2: a trick or treat. There was one trick or treat
- 23:45Speaker 2: station that had fireball shots for the adults. That was
- 23:49Speaker 2: a blast.
- 23:49Speaker 3: That's that's like a.
- 23:50Speaker 1: New thing that I've learned over the past couple of years.
- 23:52Speaker 1: As we went out the last two years we went
- 23:56Speaker 1: like the bell Meat area, there is the Bell Meat Lynx.
- 23:59Speaker 1: And then this year we went to Nicol Lane. Nicole
- 24:03Speaker 1: Lane or Nicol Lane where they block off the road
- 24:07Speaker 1: and so you're parking outside the shree. Yeah, you're parking outside.
- 24:10Speaker 1: It's like this is a full on like a like
- 24:11Speaker 1: an OG spot. Apparently in Nashville. There's this instagram that
- 24:14Speaker 1: posted like all these og spots that you can go
- 24:16Speaker 1: to in Nashville. So we chose Nicole Lane or Nicol Lane,
- 24:20Speaker 1: and uh, basically every house, bro every house embraces Halloween.
- 24:26Speaker 1: So to our kids are out there running around, ripping around.
- 24:29Speaker 1: We're in a family costume. We're inside out. I'm fear
- 24:33Speaker 1: Charles bing Bong. You know. Lola is sadness, Opah is anger.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Rue is discussed, and I'm so proud of her for
- 24:41Speaker 1: painting her face. She was all decked out in green,
- 24:43Speaker 1: wore the wig, didn't want to wear it first, ended
- 24:45Speaker 1: up wearing the wig. Talked her into how cool it looked,
- 24:47Speaker 1: and she's like kind of shy looking in the mirror
- 24:50Speaker 1: kind of like what do I think of this? And
- 24:52Speaker 1: we're all like, how cool she looks. She's get the
- 24:54Speaker 1: scott the smile on her face. Scotty was joy. Even
- 24:58Speaker 1: though she wouldn't wear anything on her head, like she
- 25:00Speaker 1: would let us put the little like little baby wig
- 25:03Speaker 1: on her. She's kept tearing it off. We bet all,
- 25:05Speaker 1: let's get this famy photo. I'd be like holding it on.
- 25:06Speaker 1: She'd just be scott Zilla would just be trying to
- 25:08Speaker 1: rip it down. But also along the street too, it's
- 25:12Speaker 1: like parents are outside, they're enjoying beverages that like everybody knows.
- 25:16Speaker 1: It's like a tribal effort. So the kids are ripping
- 25:19Speaker 1: around having fun. The older kids are running around. There's
- 25:21Speaker 1: even a couple of houses to where there's just a
- 25:23Speaker 1: note on the door, candies tipped over, and it's like
- 25:26Speaker 1: we're out trigger treating right now. Please take two, you know,
- 25:29Speaker 1: be kind all this stuff. You know, the the hoodlums
- 25:31Speaker 1: are just out there ripping. They take ten piece of candy, they.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Taking it all.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Rue's a lot more shy this year going up to
- 25:37Speaker 1: the doors and saying trick or treat. So it's like
- 25:41Speaker 1: that process of getting her to embrace her like strong
- 25:44Speaker 1: voice and like, hey, here's where you say trick or treat.
- 25:46Speaker 1: You say trick or treat you pick out a piece
- 25:48Speaker 1: of candy the back take two and we'll be standing
- 25:50Speaker 1: there looking down at the looking down at the box
- 25:52Speaker 1: of candy. I'm like, sweetheart, you got to pick a couple.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Like I know, you see those m and ms, Go
- 25:56Speaker 1: pick out some m and ms. She'll pick up the
- 25:57Speaker 1: m and ms and she'll be like, I be like, sweetheart,
- 25:59Speaker 1: you got to pick another one. There's kids behind you.
- 26:00Speaker 1: You got a big one out, Like, why don't you
- 26:03Speaker 1: go ahead and grab that snickers down there for your dad?
- 26:06Speaker 1: She'll grab the snickers, throw it in. But uh yeah, Halloween,
- 26:10Speaker 1: it's like a It is a hot It is a
- 26:12Speaker 1: holiday that climbs the charts fast when you are a parent.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Fast, dude.
- 26:17Speaker 1: You'll get it too again when it comes Christmas time,
- 26:20Speaker 1: especially once she gets like she you know, she's a
- 26:22Speaker 1: few months now, but next year when she's like actually
- 26:26Speaker 1: trying to understand the concept of opening up presence and
- 26:29Speaker 1: this is yours and it's a It's magical.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Bro, It is truly magical. And I already loved the holidays.
- 26:36Speaker 2: But like Scarlett and her little costume, and we did
- 26:40Speaker 2: a DIY cotton candy and she has no idea what's
- 26:44Speaker 2: going on, but she thought it was hilarious that there
- 26:46Speaker 2: was all this fluff around her and it was tickling her.
- 26:49Speaker 2: She was in the best mood. Yeah, and she was
- 26:51Speaker 2: ripping because we just hot glued or Jill hot glued
- 26:54Speaker 2: the cotton on. There. She was ripping her costume apart
- 26:57Speaker 2: the whole night, but like having fun with it. And
- 27:00Speaker 2: she would just get these handfuls of cotton and be
- 27:03Speaker 2: like ad smiling and laughing, and she'd put the cotton
- 27:07Speaker 2: in her mouth and just lose it and just start going.
- 27:11Speaker 2: It was like this mixture of loving her costume hating
- 27:14Speaker 2: her costume, but it was a blast. Dude.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Halloween, Halloween's a great holiday. How was how was
- 27:22Speaker 1: the explain the solo mission? You were on a solo
- 27:24Speaker 1: mission on Saturday. I know you had first day of daycare. Yes,
- 27:27Speaker 1: so we can talk through the anxieties a parent heads
- 27:30Speaker 1: going and taking your kid to daycare for the first time,
- 27:32Speaker 1: the experience of dropping them off at daycare for the
- 27:34Speaker 1: first time.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it was okay, So solo mission Jill is back
- 27:41Speaker 2: at work. She's a nurse. She's a pediatric nurse. She
- 27:45Speaker 2: works on a step down unit, so when the kids
- 27:47Speaker 2: are getting out surgery, they come down to her unit.
- 27:50Speaker 2: She works six to six and so basically from first
- 27:55Speaker 2: feed to like almost tuck in, Like Jill really walked
- 27:58Speaker 2: in the door once I drew the bath, and it
- 28:01Speaker 2: was the first time that I had Scarlet solo that
- 28:04Speaker 2: I truly felt, like, really said like, there was no
- 28:09Speaker 2: notes like last time, There was no somebody in the comments.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Well remember last time that was more of a general
- 28:17Speaker 1: These are general notes for anybody who walks in the door.
- 28:20Speaker 2: True, so true, and there were I love that somebody
- 28:24Speaker 2: was like yo, Jillie bean meal prepped outfits for sure,
- 28:30Speaker 2: zip bags and zip block bags. That comment made me
- 28:34Speaker 2: lose it. That was hilarious. But there was none of that.
- 28:37Speaker 2: It was just like, Dad, what do you got? I
- 28:39Speaker 2: have full trust in you And it was such a
- 28:42Speaker 2: great day. Dude. She's starting to get more active. She
- 28:45Speaker 2: needs a lot of playing. She needs to be moving
- 28:49Speaker 2: from room to room. As she stays in one room,
- 28:51Speaker 2: she starts losing it. Waking your kid up, dude, I
- 28:56Speaker 2: think any parent can agree just the smile you get
- 29:00Speaker 2: when you come and get them out of their crib, dude,
- 29:02Speaker 2: and you're doing the good morning voice. Yeah oh hello,
- 29:06Speaker 2: yeah hello.
- 29:08Speaker 3: She's sweeker.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Grinning, She's kicking full like both legs are just kicking
- 29:15Speaker 2: in the air, and dude, it was an incredible day.
- 29:18Speaker 2: The absolute money move that I made because I was like,
- 29:23Speaker 2: I gotta support Will with this Nebraska stuff. I gotta
- 29:28Speaker 2: support Jill with her first day at work because she's
- 29:32Speaker 2: gonna want to come home and be with me. I'm
- 29:34Speaker 2: just kind of like, how do I go about like
- 29:38Speaker 2: bouncing these two things. And I was like, I can
- 29:40Speaker 2: easily take Scarlet to the shop like nobody, nobody would
- 29:44Speaker 2: have an issue with that, and she needs to be entertained,
- 29:48Speaker 2: like she needs to have things going on. I feel
- 29:51Speaker 2: like the guys would be cool with it. I bring
- 29:53Speaker 2: Scarlet up for the blaackout Stream blackout Stream. Matt Malone
- 29:58Speaker 2: and chef and Ryan Nolan, who are three employees here
- 30:01Speaker 2: at the shop, are all sitting in there and when
- 30:03Speaker 2: I walk in with Scarlet there elated, they're all talking
- 30:06Speaker 2: to her playing PT. Sixers are in the chat and
- 30:10Speaker 2: Scarlett had a ball, dude and It was the perfect
- 30:13Speaker 2: way to keep Scarlet awake right before that bedtime tucking.
- 30:18Speaker 2: And Jill was honestly kind of proud of me that
- 30:20Speaker 2: I brought her up to the shop and like was
- 30:24Speaker 2: gouda got out of the house, was comfortable to do it.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I was sending her pigs of like uh, and you
- 30:31Speaker 2: can use that one for the episode.
- 30:32Speaker 4: I have a video too, I took without you were
- 30:35Speaker 4: somewhere else and me pushing her on the shoulder.
- 30:37Speaker 1: That's hilarious.
- 30:38Speaker 3: She was so well behaved she is.
- 30:40Speaker 4: And there was no sleeping in that stream because it
- 30:43Speaker 4: was five guys screaming at the TV. There's two games,
- 30:48Speaker 4: so Will when I went to commercial break and Will
- 30:50Speaker 4: sat down and started tweeting from his phote, make the
- 30:56Speaker 4: fucking fight to them.
- 30:59Speaker 2: They they kept on looking over at me, and I
- 31:02Speaker 2: was giving y'all like the thumbs up because I'm like,
- 31:04Speaker 2: the dogs go ballistic at our house all the time.
- 31:07Speaker 1: She she's just snoozing.
- 31:09Speaker 2: She's still loud, noisy, like y'all, y'all, do you.
- 31:13Speaker 1: So I sent your wife a text?
- 31:16Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he sent my wife a text.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Do you want to sure him? And just by the way,
- 31:22Speaker 1: for everybody, like you know, I'm trying to figure out
- 31:24Speaker 1: how do I balance supporting my friend in the blackout
- 31:27Speaker 1: and supporting my wife for her first day of work.
- 31:31Speaker 1: So Wednesday, last Wednesday happens, and the boys are like,
- 31:36Speaker 1: Chef was there too, So Chef can chime in, like, hey,
- 31:39Speaker 1: are you gonna stream the games? Are you gonna go
- 31:41Speaker 1: to the game? Are you gonna stream the game? We've
- 31:43Speaker 1: been We've had weddings the last two weekends, so we
- 31:45Speaker 1: were gonna stay home, and I'm like, yeah, yeah, let's
- 31:46Speaker 1: stream the game. We can go and stream the game,
- 31:49Speaker 1: Like who's gonna be your Chef's kind of rattling down, Hey,
- 31:51Speaker 1: so Jared's gonna be out, Derek's gonna be out like
- 31:54Speaker 1: people that could be out. He's like, but I can
- 31:56Speaker 1: run the stream. He was gonna go to the game,
- 31:58Speaker 1: the Dark Mode game for Tennessee. He's like, but I will.
- 32:01Speaker 1: We can go black out here at the shop and
- 32:03Speaker 1: I'll get in the fox on we'll watch it. He's like,
- 32:05Speaker 1: it's truly no big deal, a true dog. And I'm
- 32:07Speaker 1: kind of sitting that. I'm like, I mean, if I
- 32:09Speaker 1: was like, I'm down to just me and you watch
- 32:11Speaker 1: the game together. If you really want to go to Tennessee.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Then bro go to Tennessee, Like, I'll figure out. I mean,
- 32:17Speaker 1: I'll be able to watch.
- 32:17Speaker 2: The Huskers play.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, she s Sherm's standing there too, and he's like, hey,
- 32:22Speaker 1: we need everybody, we need everything. I was like, oh,
- 32:24Speaker 1: were you in town? Would you be? Would you would
- 32:26Speaker 1: you come? And he's like, I'll be there. I was like,
- 32:29Speaker 1: you're gonna come to the stream. I was like, dude,
- 32:30Speaker 1: let's rip it. We'll rip the stream. So Wednesday, the
- 32:34Speaker 1: expectation of SHRM coming to the stream was there, and
- 32:38Speaker 1: then what was it? Friday when we were kind of
- 32:40Speaker 1: having our for the dad's meeting and talking about weekend
- 32:42Speaker 1: plans and everything else I want to say. STRM started
- 32:44Speaker 1: to say he.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Might was it?
- 32:46Speaker 1: You might not make the stream. Sherman realized, Oh, you
- 32:49Speaker 1: weren't gonna beat like I might come in the second half.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Sherman realized that his wife was working that day. The schedule.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I might come in the second half. What you you
- 32:59Speaker 1: talk about we need everybody and you're gonna be there
- 33:01Speaker 1: on Saturday, and now you're telling me you're not gonna
- 33:03Speaker 1: be there. Maybe you'll show up for the second half.
- 33:06Speaker 1: When Jill gets home, Oh, have you not talked about
- 33:08Speaker 1: this at all with your wife?
- 33:11Speaker 2: The planning of it all to that at that point zero,
- 33:16Speaker 2: and I'm sitting there knees buckling because I'm like, damn it,
- 33:20Speaker 2: I said I was gonna go to this thing. Yeah,
- 33:22Speaker 2: but also have not consulted with my wife, not realizing
- 33:26Speaker 2: that she was gonna be working. Yeah, I've put myself
- 33:29Speaker 2: in a blender.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Shirm's greatness and achilles heel is that Sherman's the people pleaser.
- 33:33Speaker 1: And so even when Scarlet's there and I walk in
- 33:35Speaker 1: and I see Sherm, I thought, I saw, like, I
- 33:38Speaker 1: saw your Chevy sitting out there, and I'm like, I
- 33:40Speaker 1: wonder if Shirm's in the shop. Walk in, He's got
- 33:42Speaker 1: Scarlet in the shop. I'm fired up. I'm like, bro,
- 33:44Speaker 1: let's go. And so I'm thinking, all right, he's probably
- 33:48Speaker 1: My thought in my head was he's gonna have Scarlet here.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Jill might come by and pick up Scarlet. He's gonna
- 33:53Speaker 1: take Scarlett home and then come back to the shop.
- 33:55Speaker 1: So we get close to halftime or something, Sherm's talking
- 33:58Speaker 1: about going to pick up food. But I know in
- 34:00Speaker 1: Sherm's mind and you can can correct me if I'm wrong.
- 34:02Speaker 1: But here's what the game I'm playing in my head is.
- 34:06Speaker 1: There hasn't been a conversation of if he's going to
- 34:08Speaker 1: be here for the second half. I am still assuming
- 34:11Speaker 1: he's going to be here for the second half. In
- 34:12Speaker 1: his mind, he might think like Will still might be
- 34:15Speaker 1: assuming that I'm coming back. Sharam says this thing out
- 34:17Speaker 1: loud outside the stream where it's like I'm gonna go
- 34:19Speaker 1: pick up dinner, get Scarlett home, and kind of leaves
- 34:22Speaker 1: it vague. And so before he leaves, and I just
- 34:25Speaker 1: yell out of the stream room, knowing that he's probably
- 34:28Speaker 1: just in a blender, I'm like, surem, you're coming back
- 34:31Speaker 1: for the second half. Yeah, And he's like.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I said, most likely not. Yeah. It goes and Jill
- 34:40Speaker 2: totally put the ball in my court. Like there was
- 34:43Speaker 2: no part of Jill being like you can't go. She
- 34:48Speaker 2: sends mess.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Text says something a little different.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Well, hold on, hold on, hold on, because that text.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Because they're so you're not coming back.
- 34:55Speaker 2: I said.
- 34:55Speaker 1: He's like, Jill's going to be excited to spend time
- 34:58Speaker 1: with me, and so her first day work and again
- 35:01Speaker 1: I'm pressing my man I'm busting his balls. I'm like,
- 35:03Speaker 1: give me Joe's number, I'll shoot her a message.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Wait wait before, okay, before you read this, because oh
- 35:09Speaker 2: my gosh, my wife had no idea what she did
- 35:12Speaker 2: when she sent that text. Because I read the text later.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Oh really, and I was like, oh no, because of
- 35:19Speaker 2: the result of the game, and she didn't mean anything
- 35:23Speaker 2: by it. It was contemplating if she should follow up
- 35:26Speaker 2: with the follow up text, now go ahead.
- 35:28Speaker 1: So I text Jill it's about eight thirty and I said, honestly,
- 35:34Speaker 1: it's crazy. You won't let me have one of my
- 35:36Speaker 1: best guys when Nebraska is in an absolute dog fight
- 35:39Speaker 1: all caps. She responded to me about ten minutes later, Haha,
- 35:45Speaker 1: Willie see my most sincere apologies. I'm pulling the wifey card.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Nebraska's in her thoughts and prayers. I mean, how do
- 35:52Speaker 1: you lose a blackout game at home? Don't ask Baylor? Oops,
- 35:56Speaker 1: go big Red.
- 35:59Speaker 2: So she is taking a shot at Baylor. But in
- 36:03Speaker 2: that text, Nebraska ends up losing, not like oh no,
- 36:10Speaker 2: Red was internally in my eyeballs. But she sent it
- 36:16Speaker 2: before they lost, correct, she said it.
- 36:19Speaker 1: But maybe I don't know.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure she sent it before.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I remember seeing it, and when I saw I had
- 36:24Speaker 1: to pull the wifey card, I'm like, yeah you did,
- 36:26Speaker 1: because she had to clip my man's balls right here
- 36:28Speaker 1: in front of all them.
- 36:29Speaker 2: She she took a shot at Baylor, and unbeknownst, took
- 36:32Speaker 2: a shot at Nebraska. She wanted to follow up with
- 36:37Speaker 2: an apology text, she's still she still might because she
- 36:40Speaker 2: knows how much he left.
- 36:41Speaker 1: I should shoot her a text. Now looking back at
- 36:46Speaker 1: this text, Uh.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Yeah, FaceTime would work?
- 36:51Speaker 2: All right?
- 36:55Speaker 1: Is she work and you think she'll answer?
- 36:57Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, she'll answer. I hope she answers, and if not,
- 37:10Speaker 2: I can I can face.
- 37:11Speaker 1: If not, tough look for all of us. She doesn't answer,
- 37:19Speaker 1: I'm just gonna text, all right, bet.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Oh, Jilly ban please.
- 37:31Speaker 1: No answer?
- 37:32Speaker 2: Will?
- 37:32Speaker 1: Can I all right?
- 37:34Speaker 3: Bet On?
- 37:37Speaker 2: Will's playing mind drinks on Jill and me a sorry,
- 37:44Speaker 2: what were you gonna say, chef?
- 37:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll make you quick. Not a football podcast, but
- 37:47Speaker 4: on the stream. I do want to make a confession
- 37:50Speaker 4: because I felt like Matt took a bullet and in
- 37:54Speaker 4: the moment while Tennessee was losing, I was not in
- 37:56Speaker 4: the headspace to go, hey, I probably need to clarify
- 37:58Speaker 4: something you.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Don't need to say. You don't need to say it.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I already know, but you don't need to say it.
- 38:04Speaker 3: I pulled the trigger.
- 38:05Speaker 1: I know he threw under the bus right after.
- 38:07Speaker 3: The he did.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Yeah, he said, By the way, I didn't. I wasn't
- 38:10Speaker 1: the one recording. Your chef kind of said, hey, you
- 38:12Speaker 1: should record Will during this fourty one style.
- 38:14Speaker 4: You're kidding, no, get a very Will. Yeah, He's like, hey,
- 38:19Speaker 4: get your phone on you. I was like, yeah, I
- 38:21Speaker 4: just wanted to.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Bust his balls like that. Obviously is a moment you
- 38:24Speaker 1: want to go.
- 38:25Speaker 3: I was feeling bad about it too, motherfucker.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Yeah no, I yeah, I knew. I knew that part.
- 38:31Speaker 1: But tough loss, tough love. I went home and I
- 38:34Speaker 1: kind of said the whole spiel on bus and like
- 38:36Speaker 1: I stood outside, rain hit my face. I walked inside.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Face was still painted, battered and bruised from that game emotionally,
- 38:44Speaker 1: because I felt like the way we looked in that
- 38:46Speaker 1: first half. I know this is in the football podcast
- 38:48Speaker 1: and I'm not sitting here trying to talk about Nebraska,
- 38:50Speaker 1: but God's kind of calling me to right now. Yeah, yeah,
- 38:54Speaker 1: listen to it. Listen to the that first half. We
- 38:56Speaker 1: looked like a playoff team, y'all. Did I mean the
- 38:59Speaker 1: way we were taking it to USC that offense, I'm thinking,
- 39:04Speaker 1: all right, you got u c l A. We'll whoop
- 39:06Speaker 1: them Penn State, we got them now, and then you
- 39:09Speaker 1: got to finish up with a hard fall game at Iowa.
- 39:11Speaker 1: But at that point we'll be playing to get in
- 39:12Speaker 1: the College for wall playoff because we'll be contending too. Yeah.
- 39:17Speaker 1: But I walk inside after the loss and quietly shut
- 39:20Speaker 1: the door. My wife's laying laying in bed reading the book,
- 39:23Speaker 1: and I quietly shut the door, door locks, and she
- 39:26Speaker 1: looks up at me, and she's like, I'm sorry, baby,
- 39:30Speaker 1: like me too. I go and wash my face off,
- 39:33Speaker 1: go lay down in bed next to her. She's like,
- 39:35Speaker 1: how you feeling? Like, I'm just sad and uh, and
- 39:39Speaker 1: I go, you know, there is one thing that makes
- 39:41Speaker 1: me feel better.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Though.
- 39:44Speaker 1: She started giggling. She said, you know it was it
- 39:52Speaker 1: was that time. Yeah, you know, all right, I got you,
- 39:56Speaker 1: I got you. Hey, Maybe in the next couple of days,
- 39:59Speaker 1: for sure, maybe I'll get on that shock wave some
- 40:02Speaker 1: the next couple of days, I will say, six am
- 40:04Speaker 1: this morning.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Rizzo's listening just gone down and Willie, yeah, probably sitting here.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Listen, they're in there listening right now, Like, gosh, damn it.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Who knows who listens to this podcast? And you were
- 40:18Speaker 1: talking about the shock wave at six am. Only the
- 40:21Speaker 1: inside pt sikos know what we're talking about, but everybody
- 40:24Speaker 1: kind of knows what we're talking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, tough, tough.
- 40:29Speaker 1: You know that was the weekend. Oh we had a
- 40:32Speaker 1: matter of fact, do you have anything else, chef?
- 40:35Speaker 2: No.
- 40:35Speaker 4: But by the way, Rizzo commoning was really cool. I've
- 40:38Speaker 4: been trying to play really cool and not talk about
- 40:40Speaker 4: it because it's just at this point it's it's run
- 40:44Speaker 4: its course. But I do feel like that was pretty
- 40:46Speaker 4: cool because he reached out and we talked about it
- 40:49Speaker 4: like this is a niche or podcast, not for long,
- 40:52Speaker 4: but to have someone like that, especially childhood hero of mine,
- 40:56Speaker 4: that was super cool.
- 40:57Speaker 3: So shout out, riz.
- 40:58Speaker 1: We'll get him on this show one day.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Be sick.
- 41:00Speaker 2: It legitimized what Logan had texted us.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Yes, thank god, because you kind of don't know.
- 41:06Speaker 2: There is a part of you that's like, oh, maybe
- 41:08Speaker 2: he just set a one off comment to Logan. Logan
- 41:11Speaker 2: got excited. He texted us, Yeah, maybe fluffed it up
- 41:14Speaker 2: a little bit more. Could still be the case. He
- 41:16Speaker 2: could still be the case. But then you see the comment. Yeah,
- 41:20Speaker 2: and we didn't even tag him in the video.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Both followed each other.
- 41:25Speaker 2: That's huge.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I think we might have tagged him. I posted it
- 41:28Speaker 1: on X.
- 41:29Speaker 5: We didn't tag him on Instagram, where he commented. We
- 41:31Speaker 5: tagged him on the X of it, but the Instagram
- 41:34Speaker 5: he was untaggable. He just saw it.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Okay, okay, that is cool. There was one other thing
- 41:43Speaker 2: about Saturday, Black guy. Oh, very fun being with the
- 41:47Speaker 2: boys with the baby, and I want to do more
- 41:51Speaker 2: of that, Like, yeah, just opportunities.
- 41:54Speaker 1: We just we got to get the crews together, got
- 41:56Speaker 1: get the cruise together. We gotta do it number one.
- 41:58Speaker 1: We also got to do like a game night. Oh
- 42:00Speaker 1: just the parents. We got around here.
- 42:01Speaker 2: And we got to Jill is working this Saturday and
- 42:05Speaker 2: the Dowas Stars. The Coop and I are big fans
- 42:07Speaker 2: of the dows Stars. They're playing the Preds this Saturday.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Coop invites me to go with him and his girlfriend,
- 42:15Speaker 2: and uh, he's like, you should bring Jill and Scarlet.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Jill can't go because she's working. But since it's a
- 42:21Speaker 2: two thirty tip off. She was like, hey, you should,
- 42:25Speaker 2: uh just take Scarlet. And so I'm taking Scarlet to
- 42:29Speaker 2: that Stars game. It's gonna be fun.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gonna be a good time. It'll be a
- 42:32Speaker 1: good time. And all parents out there know, like, if
- 42:34Speaker 1: we're gonna do a game night, we have to intentionally
- 42:38Speaker 1: plan we have because we sound like every friend group
- 42:41Speaker 1: right now that says we gotta get together, we gotta
- 42:43Speaker 1: do something, and it just doesn't happen. You know why,
- 42:45Speaker 1: because life happened. Life happens. Then you're there the next
- 42:48Speaker 1: year or then you're we're sitting here at New Year's
- 42:51Speaker 1: and it's gonna be a New Year's resolution. It's been
- 42:53Speaker 1: one of mine before, like a quarterly game night. But
- 42:57Speaker 1: it has to get like intentionally planned out for and
- 43:01Speaker 1: everybody's got to be just lockstep, arms locked. Hey this childcare,
- 43:07Speaker 1: we're all on deck. Bro.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Night for the parents, Night for them. Oh we're doing
- 43:11Speaker 2: night for the parents.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I think so, yes, because your parents need their time,
- 43:15Speaker 1: they need their social time. We need our community outside
- 43:17Speaker 1: of kids. We need to do stuff with kids. Yeah,
- 43:20Speaker 1: like bringing the families together, but also like community for
- 43:22Speaker 1: the parents and socializing, just getting out of the house
- 43:25Speaker 1: feeling young.
- 43:26Speaker 2: This is a good step forward too with Jill and
- 43:29Speaker 2: I because we've yet to do a babysitter night. We
- 43:32Speaker 2: have not done one. We need to, we need to
- 43:36Speaker 2: make an ash.
- 43:36Speaker 1: So I was I would say too, like just get
- 43:40Speaker 1: a rep as soon as you can, like start getting
- 43:42Speaker 1: reps before the actual separation anxiety sinks in for the
- 43:47Speaker 1: little one, like when rue forget when it is, but
- 43:51Speaker 1: probably like in the one year old time, or maybe
- 43:54Speaker 1: around two, but the moment they realized you were leaving
- 43:56Speaker 1: and they're very sad, yeah, and like scared or they
- 43:59Speaker 1: don't want to be with the babysitter. You just you
- 44:02Speaker 1: feel so bad as a parent leaving and going to dinner.
- 44:05Speaker 1: And so I would just I would just tell you
- 44:08Speaker 1: or advise or encourage you just to get in some
- 44:11Speaker 1: kind of rhythm or at least have an experience or
- 44:13Speaker 1: two of it before it gets to a point where
- 44:16Speaker 1: separation anxiety kicks in. Yeah, because it's gonna hit you
- 44:18Speaker 1: hard no matter what. But if your first one comes
- 44:22Speaker 1: when they're already very aware and it's a babysitter coming
- 44:25Speaker 1: over for like the first time, or somebody that could
- 44:27Speaker 1: be unfamiliar with or not as familiar with. It just
- 44:30Speaker 1: hits you hard.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Bro.
- 44:32Speaker 1: You kind of don't even enjoy the date night because you're,
- 44:34Speaker 1: like you you feel like you got to get home
- 44:35Speaker 1: because your little one feels like they're in prison right now.
- 44:37Speaker 2: You should have seen me yesterday dropping off Scarlet at
- 44:42Speaker 2: daycare that that separation anxiety hit hard, hard for you.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it was I fully expect. So Jill ended
- 44:56Speaker 2: up moving a shift around to be able to come
- 44:59Speaker 2: to the very first drop buff as well, which I'm
- 45:01Speaker 2: very thankful for because there were a ton of moving parts.
- 45:05Speaker 2: I'm ready now, like I can do the drop offs
- 45:08Speaker 2: super easy, getting her bottles ready in the morning, having
- 45:11Speaker 2: the bagpack the extra diapers, extra outfits, like you give
- 45:16Speaker 2: it to the daycare so now they have all the
- 45:19Speaker 2: extra stuff. But dude, I was not expecting the emotions
- 45:25Speaker 2: that hit me when I dropped off Scarlet.
- 45:27Speaker 4: It was like.
- 45:29Speaker 2: She's never been with without me or Jill before. She's
- 45:34Speaker 2: been with our parents before, which that's a little different.
- 45:38Speaker 2: But I'm just sitting there in that classroom and the
- 45:40Speaker 2: teachers are so sweet, the daycare workers are so sweet.
- 45:45Speaker 1: There's a completely new environment. Was zero history with anybody
- 45:48Speaker 1: in the building.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Anyone in the building. And there's these like five little
- 45:52Speaker 2: precious baby girls in this So the class is five
- 45:56Speaker 2: girls and two boys, and all the they have all
- 45:58Speaker 2: the girls like in this little with each other, and
- 46:01Speaker 2: they're all four to like seven months old. And I'm
- 46:05Speaker 2: looking at the little group, I'm like, those are gonna
- 46:07Speaker 2: be her friends. Like look how excited they are sitting
- 46:10Speaker 2: in their little thing, Like that's the rug rats, right,
- 46:13Speaker 2: those are the rug Rats. Like She's gonna be one
- 46:15Speaker 2: of the girls. And then I look up and there's
- 46:17Speaker 2: a little apple with scarlet y and that has like
- 46:19Speaker 2: a little hanger under it, and I'm like, I'm like,
- 46:22Speaker 2: she's going to school. She's going to school.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Four months old.
- 46:26Speaker 2: I'm like, she's she's gonna be great, she's gonna do
- 46:30Speaker 2: a good job. And now the teachers holding teachers holding there,
- 46:34Speaker 2: and I'm just I'm restraining so much. I'm over here
- 46:38Speaker 2: because i want to like go up and give her
- 46:40Speaker 2: one more kiss. But then I'm like, I'm gonna kiss
- 46:42Speaker 2: my baby while somebody else is like holding her. Is
- 46:44Speaker 2: that weird? I don't want to, But now I like,
- 46:50Speaker 2: really I won her back, like give her back to
- 46:52Speaker 2: me so I can kiss her. Dude.
- 46:54Speaker 1: That's so funny, dude, because I'll think about it, even
- 46:57Speaker 1: with her nanny, and still it comes to my mind
- 46:59Speaker 1: when I'm even like hugs and kisses and three squeezes.
- 47:02Speaker 1: She might be holding Scotty and I'm giving her hug
- 47:04Speaker 1: kissing three squeezes, and while Audrey's holding in her give
- 47:07Speaker 1: her a hug, kissing three squeezes. And part of Me's like,
- 47:09Speaker 1: do I tell Audrey I love her.
- 47:12Speaker 4: Too?
- 47:14Speaker 2: Hey, do you want to hug too?
- 47:15Speaker 1: I just.
- 47:18Speaker 2: I'm like, this lady doesn't know me. She's gonna think
- 47:21Speaker 2: I'm a freak. And then they put scarlet down on
- 47:24Speaker 2: the little pillow, like the little U shaped pillow, and
- 47:29Speaker 2: we're like walking out of the classroom and it's very obvious.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Now it's like, okay, now, y'all go check out because
- 47:35Speaker 2: we got to do some paperwork and get the app downloaded,
- 47:38Speaker 2: get our fingerprints scanned, all that fun stuff. And they
- 47:42Speaker 2: have one of those like real long horizontal windows to
- 47:45Speaker 2: like look into the classroom. And as we're walking out, dude,
- 47:49Speaker 2: I stopped and I stood there for five minutes. While
- 47:52Speaker 2: Jill was talking to the people. I was just watching
- 47:55Speaker 2: there every with scarlet as they're like laying her down
- 47:58Speaker 2: on the pillow. She's smiling, she's loving it. She's like
- 48:02Speaker 2: taking in the new environment and kind of looking around,
- 48:05Speaker 2: has a smile the entire time. Yeah, it starts hitting
- 48:08Speaker 2: the eyes. So I'm like, I gotta go back to
- 48:11Speaker 2: the to the front desk. I got and I'm standing
- 48:14Speaker 2: there at the front desk, and the entire time, I'm like,
- 48:16Speaker 2: I gotta go back. I gotta go back and look
- 48:18Speaker 2: at her in the classroom. I looked at her again,
- 48:21Speaker 2: and then do when I walked out that building, I
- 48:23Speaker 2: lost it. I was not I thought Jill was gonna
- 48:28Speaker 2: be losing it. It was gonna be crying. She didn't cry once.
- 48:31Speaker 2: It was me. The whole time she drove back from
- 48:35Speaker 2: the daycare, I just sat in the passenger seat, not
- 48:39Speaker 2: like sobbing, but just like so quiet. And she was like,
- 48:41Speaker 2: what's hitting you right now? Like why are you? And
- 48:44Speaker 2: I was like, life is just gonna be a bunch
- 48:46Speaker 2: of those It's just gonna be a bunch of moments
- 48:49Speaker 2: of like her getting older and older and older and
- 48:53Speaker 2: doing all these steps, and I'm just gonna be like
- 48:57Speaker 2: imagining her under this little billy lights in the hospital
- 49:01Speaker 2: room and like holding her hand and she's always going
- 49:03Speaker 2: to be that small to me, and it just, dude,
- 49:07Speaker 2: it chattered me. I was like, oh my gosh, I
- 49:11Speaker 2: know she's only four months old, but like it felt
- 49:14Speaker 2: like she was going off to college in a way,
- 49:16Speaker 2: like and I know that's so different those these things.
- 49:19Speaker 1: I truly, I really enjoy hearing about you embracing the
- 49:24Speaker 1: moment because it's funny to think about knowing she's four
- 49:27Speaker 1: months picking her up and like, hey, did you learn
- 49:30Speaker 1: anything to day and.
- 49:31Speaker 3: She knows it.
- 49:32Speaker 2: She knows nothing of her environment other than these people
- 49:36Speaker 2: are nice and give me a baba too. They let
- 49:39Speaker 2: me not to these guys are sick. You know, she
- 49:42Speaker 2: knows dad is struggling right now. Oh struggling. Oh dude.
- 49:48Speaker 2: But I mean, daycare is what it is, and people
- 49:53Speaker 2: you know, aren't like against it or like maybe they
- 49:57Speaker 2: just don't do daycare, maybe they do a different style
- 50:01Speaker 2: of daycare with people coming to their house, but just
- 50:04Speaker 2: like that true daycare of like dropping off your kid.
- 50:08Speaker 2: It is like, I'm excited to see how that helps
- 50:13Speaker 2: develop Scarlet. Because when we were dropping by for the
- 50:17Speaker 2: very first time, for like the pre drop off, This
- 50:22Speaker 2: little one year old. As soon as the classroom door,
- 50:25Speaker 2: the daycare door, you know, opened up, this one year
- 50:27Speaker 2: old just crawls up to us and is just talking
- 50:31Speaker 2: and she's not making any sense, but she's just so
- 50:34Speaker 2: excited to see a new face is and we're like, yeah,
- 50:39Speaker 2: I was like, that's gonna be scarlet, Like she's gonna
- 50:41Speaker 2: be okay with like hanging out with new people and
- 50:45Speaker 2: excited to talk to people, and I don't know, it
- 50:49Speaker 2: just got me excited for her development. It got me
- 50:51Speaker 2: excited for her growing up. But it also made me
- 50:55Speaker 2: really sad. It made me really really sad in a
- 50:58Speaker 2: good way. Pt. Sichos Chef just got shocked. He's been
- 51:06Speaker 2: getting shocked. And we're not talking static electricity. We're talking
- 51:10Speaker 2: full on voltage coming from a power strip. What else
- 51:15Speaker 2: is shocking? What else is shocking? Stock market? Maybe true classic?
- 51:23Speaker 2: The way it makes men look true classic, the way
- 51:26Speaker 2: it makes men feel comfy. It looks sharp, it's great
- 51:30Speaker 2: for any outing guys, and hey, look at me, I'm
- 51:32Speaker 2: dressed with these guys that will be hitting BWTV dot
- 51:36Speaker 2: com very soon. I'm also dressed in a true classic hoodie.
- 51:41Speaker 2: True Classic not only has great shirts, guys, it also
- 51:44Speaker 2: has hoodies. True Classic has pants. They will get you
- 51:47Speaker 2: ready for the fall, winter, spring, summer having you look
- 51:51Speaker 2: good no matter what, guys. And here's the cool part
- 51:55Speaker 2: about True Classic. They just launched a boys line boy
- 51:59Speaker 2: Dad's you can match, and honestly, it looks way better
- 52:04Speaker 2: than those awkward family photo outfits or cheesy pajamas. Imagine
- 52:07Speaker 2: a Christmas card in True Classic outfits that might hit home,
- 52:11Speaker 2: That might make that one aunt that's always putting out
- 52:14Speaker 2: the best Christmas cards look bad this year. Because you
- 52:18Speaker 2: outdit her. You get to show up together, you get
- 52:21Speaker 2: to feel comfortable and actually look good doing it. The
- 52:25Speaker 2: crazy thing is True Classic has already sold over twenty
- 52:28Speaker 2: five million shirts to more than five million customers with
- 52:32Speaker 2: over two hundred thousand five star reviews, So I'm definitely
- 52:35Speaker 2: not the only dad who has figured this out.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Guys.
- 52:38Speaker 2: You can find True Classic at Amazon, Target, Select Costco,
- 52:42Speaker 2: and Sam's Club locations, or just head to True Classic
- 52:47Speaker 2: dot com forward slash for the dad's special special guest
- 52:53Speaker 2: Willie see on the True Classic ad that was True
- 52:56Speaker 2: Classic dot com forward slash for the dads Trust me
- 52:59Speaker 2: grab one and you'll thank me later. Will this is
- 53:01Speaker 2: actually your hoodie. I stole your true classes.
- 53:03Speaker 3: Good.
- 53:04Speaker 2: It's a good hoodie. Shut, I'm a mop one it
- 53:07Speaker 2: back to the episode.
- 53:09Speaker 1: I ever told you my daycare story.
- 53:12Speaker 2: I've heard I've heard you. Yeah, I've heard Tail you
- 53:16Speaker 2: sent via text message what had happened, but I've never
- 53:19Speaker 2: heard you verbally tell it.
- 53:23Speaker 1: We might have to save it for next week because
- 53:25Speaker 1: it's a wild one. Because it's a very wild it's
- 53:27Speaker 1: a very wild story. It's the reason we have you know,
- 53:30Speaker 1: we had to big thing happened. Yeah, we had to
- 53:35Speaker 1: transition very quickly in the middle of like you know,
- 53:37Speaker 1: work schedules and everything else to where we ended up
- 53:39Speaker 1: going the nandy route. But I'll talk to my wife
- 53:43Speaker 1: see if I can tell the story. Yeah, because it
- 53:46Speaker 1: is a crazy story. It is one of those types
- 53:49Speaker 1: of stories. And for listeners at home, I know you've
- 53:52Speaker 1: touched on this, but Charloe like is full time working
- 53:55Speaker 1: as well. You both of you guys are very very busy,
- 53:58Speaker 1: so childcare is a necessity. Absolutely, Yeah, But it is
- 54:03Speaker 1: a We joke around on this pod a lot. We
- 54:07Speaker 1: get serious on this pod, but I do not say
- 54:09Speaker 1: this lightly. This story is insane.
- 54:12Speaker 2: It's insane, and I think that that's also what was
- 54:15Speaker 2: hitting me in the moment, was like having to release
- 54:19Speaker 2: like the fear that I had of like somebody else
- 54:23Speaker 2: caring for my child. And it really was almost like
- 54:26Speaker 2: I was having to purge myself of worrying fear in
- 54:30Speaker 2: that the.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Fear is justified. I mean, again, you're giving your entire
- 54:35Speaker 1: world to people that they're not your parents, they're not
- 54:38Speaker 1: your family, you have zero relationship with them. You're just
- 54:42Speaker 1: trusting you know, the building, the reviews, stuff you've heard.
- 54:48Speaker 2: I'm on a first name basis with this Miss Christie, yeah, yeah,
- 54:51Speaker 2: Miss Angela. Yeah, and they seemed like sweethearts. I trust them,
- 54:56Speaker 2: but I'm also like, oh my god, oh my god.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but I'll see if I can. I can
- 55:02Speaker 1: tell the story next week or something. Ye, yeah, because
- 55:04Speaker 1: it's a wild story and I don't want to say
- 55:06Speaker 1: anything that I'm not supposed to say, or maybe I
- 55:09Speaker 1: don't be some things being shared.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:11Speaker 5: Yeah, it's cool to hear you say that, Schrum, because
- 55:13Speaker 5: we had this old coach back in the day that
- 55:14Speaker 5: would talk about the transfer of moments like every day
- 55:17Speaker 5: in high school soccer, like each Friday, you get to
- 55:19Speaker 5: play a game in front of people. And as you
- 55:21Speaker 5: get older, the moments are far and few between and
- 55:24Speaker 5: they're no longer about you and your day, but they
- 55:26Speaker 5: become about your kids and become about that. So for
- 55:28Speaker 5: hearing you say, like, my life is just going to
- 55:30Speaker 5: be a bunch of little scar scar moments of her
- 55:33Speaker 5: growing up and stuff, is the first time I've heard
- 55:34Speaker 5: somebody talk about that transition of moments, like it's no
- 55:38Speaker 5: longer about what sherm gets to do Friday, it's like
- 55:40Speaker 5: the daughter she's at daycare for the first time.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Like, that's a cool thing to hear you say, dude,
- 55:44Speaker 2: thank you. It was. It was a cool moment. It
- 55:47Speaker 2: needed to happen. It was a good thing. It's also
- 55:51Speaker 2: helping in jill and ize development. It is a great
- 55:54Speaker 2: precursor to the babysitter stuff and the like yeah, you know,
- 55:59Speaker 2: just being able to like let go get trust others.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and also just feeling, like Derek was saying, just
- 56:06Speaker 1: feeling the depth of the moment, Like as funny as
- 56:09Speaker 1: it is, like she's four months all that stuff, but
- 56:11Speaker 1: just being able to truly be where your feet are
- 56:14Speaker 1: is a you know, is like a skill, and you
- 56:18Speaker 1: doing that and feeling the way of the moment and
- 56:19Speaker 1: kind of foreseeing everything else in the future and knowing
- 56:23Speaker 1: that this is, this moment is as special as any
- 56:26Speaker 1: other moment that will come, even when she's talking or
- 56:28Speaker 1: does understand stuff. Yeah, so it is. It's it's It
- 56:32Speaker 1: was cool to see it on your face. Almost came
- 56:34Speaker 1: out of your eyes. I was waiting, I was waiting
- 56:36Speaker 1: for I'm always waiting for some tears going.
- 56:38Speaker 2: I'm getting a bit better at holding back the tears.
- 56:40Speaker 1: Are you You just said you were You just said
- 56:43Speaker 1: Jill didn't cry, hold on tear, and you hold holding
- 56:46Speaker 1: back the tears on the show. This is twenty four
- 56:50Speaker 1: hours ago when you just dropped Scarlet off.
- 56:54Speaker 2: I have no tears to get because guys, I was
- 56:58Speaker 2: parked once once wet to the house. I needed to
- 57:01Speaker 2: get back here because we had interviews and stuff up. Yeah,
- 57:04Speaker 2: I'm about to walk in looking like a psychopath. I
- 57:07Speaker 2: need to get it together. And I'm driving to the
- 57:10Speaker 2: shop and I have a Spotify playlist and the Lahla
- 57:12Speaker 2: by that I seeing the Scarlett is adel VISs. I'm
- 57:16Speaker 2: seeing it to her all the time when I'm putting
- 57:18Speaker 2: her down and Spotify is just going off random songs.
- 57:23Speaker 2: And right before I pull out the shop, adel Vice
- 57:26Speaker 2: starts playing like what are we doing? I walk in
- 57:32Speaker 2: very first seeing Chef says it you good? Yeah, I'm great.
- 57:37Speaker 2: I'm really good. Are you sure?
- 57:40Speaker 1: Yeah? I'm good?
- 57:42Speaker 2: And then like ten minutes later, I fessed up and
- 57:44Speaker 2: said that I was crying from daycare and Chef was like, yeah,
- 57:47Speaker 2: I could tell, Like damn it.
- 57:51Speaker 1: You gotta love chef. Chef is, do we have outside
- 57:55Speaker 1: of the core value stuff that will be going over
- 57:59Speaker 1: that people uh sent to us? Do we have other
- 58:01Speaker 1: comments that we'll be reading? We do?
- 58:03Speaker 2: What piles?
- 58:03Speaker 1: Do you do you have any piles?
- 58:05Speaker 2: I do have a pile. And right before we go
- 58:08Speaker 2: into that, uh, let's hit him with a nice little
- 58:11Speaker 2: crack of cold one from our friends at Liquid IV.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Let's hit him with a crack of cold one. I
- 58:18Speaker 1: have water, I got some mixing. I got some mixing
- 58:20Speaker 1: right here. Oh yeah, absolutely, buddy, you already got me one.
- 58:23Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 58:23Speaker 2: That was actually our boy Derek uh dee Deek, who
- 58:28Speaker 2: was absolutely killing it.
- 58:30Speaker 6: Uh.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Not to revisit stuff that we've already talked about, but
- 58:33Speaker 2: it's got to be the trigger treating for me. Uh
- 58:36Speaker 2: this past week, my cracker cold one was just getting
- 58:39Speaker 2: to watch the little kids absolutely slay it. It was
- 58:45Speaker 2: just a blast to get to see all the like laughs,
- 58:48Speaker 2: all the magic at Halloween Night, all the costumes. By
- 58:52Speaker 2: the way, dude, a costume that we very much missed
- 58:56Speaker 2: out on was seventh themed costumes. I saw Helena and
- 59:02Speaker 2: Mark costume and was like, oh my god, did I
- 59:06Speaker 2: strike out this year?
- 59:08Speaker 3: You just gave me the opportunity to say it.
- 59:10Speaker 4: The costume that I saw online that I thought was
- 59:12Speaker 4: the coolest thing ever was a couple's costume. The guy
- 59:15Speaker 4: was dressed as Randy Johnson in a diamondback uniform and
- 59:18Speaker 4: the girl was dressed as a bird.
- 59:21Speaker 1: No, that's all.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Yeah, a little fucked up, but I mean, I mean.
- 59:26Speaker 1: That moment is one of the craziest moments in sports issues.
- 59:30Speaker 3: Doesn't make sense.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Randy Johnson is just throwing a heater and the bird
- 59:33Speaker 1: perfectly flying in at the right moment, just getting disintegrated.
- 59:36Speaker 1: He's and piece of that bird in their family.
- 59:38Speaker 2: Control deleted the bird.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Control deleted the bird.
- 59:41Speaker 2: There was no carcass, there was just feathers.
- 59:43Speaker 1: Yeah, my crack of cole One's going to go to
- 59:47Speaker 1: And this was honestly a very subtle surprise, and I
- 59:49Speaker 1: think I'll be able to try and use a couple
- 59:52Speaker 1: broken things as we do the core values thing. Because
- 59:55Speaker 1: Charle and I went to this positive discipline kind of
- 59:59Speaker 1: class workshop, seminar or whatever it is for a couple
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: hours on Saturday morning and it was cool out. Your
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: boy was locked in, engaged the entire two hours and trying.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I went to do at the school that Rugoes Too
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: offered it, and so there were several parents and you're
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: kind of sitting in a circle, kind of sitting in
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: a circle. They have a couple speakers, a couple like
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: people who are leading the entire thing talking about positive
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: discipline and going over goals and challenges and what positive
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: discipline looks like, like being kind and firm. Kind is
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: a nice, firm, isn't mean? Like all these different scenarios
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: to where I'm up there. They're given roles. So I'm
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: up there as the kid like hearing parents say, like
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: you know, they had scripts to read on what parents
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: would say, and then I would react to where how
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: it would make me feel for what they're saying. So
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: we did all these different like skits and learned a
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: lot of cool things. So my correct could one goes
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: to my wife getting me out and going to this
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: positive discipline workshop because it was Saturday, huskers were about
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: to play that night. Wasn't like fully aware what we're
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: going to be doing, and it turned out to be
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: really cool. Yeah, there's apparently a positive discipline app. I'll
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: say that for my survival kit. I haven't put it
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: on my phone yet, but apparently there's this positive Discipline
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: app that you can download and it's got like, you know,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: some teachings or learns that they give you kind of daily.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: But I would encourage, Yeah, I would encourage parents if
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: there's like a positive discipline workshop or just like parent
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: workshops for you and your wife to go to. Highly encourage,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: highly recommend. It was kind of one of those things
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: like looking back on it, I thought is really cool
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: because it's like we're all very intentional for how we
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: want to be better in our career with ourself, whether
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: it's diet and working out structure for our own self,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: our own individual sanity for our career. We have ambitions
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: in our career to where hey, this is what our
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: vision is what does our process look like? What are
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: things and places that I'm going to to learn and
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: get better at my craft? For work? You have the
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: same thing with parenting your relationships. You want to tap
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: in and figure out, you know, if you feel like
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: you're in a rupt relationship wise or in a marriage
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: relationship wise, and people who are very intentional about whether
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: it's getting it back on track doing some like continued
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: education or learning on having a better marriage, or just
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: like checking in. Yeah, couples go and do that. And
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: I as I'm leaving and thinking about it, I'm thinking,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: this is no different. It's like we should be doing
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: something like this a few different times a year at
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: least on us challenging ourselves to learn something new, and
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: then as we're driving home kind of challenging ourselves like,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: here's what I'm thinking that my blind spots where here's
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: one area where I want to get better in based
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: on what I learned from the positive discipline workshop that
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: we just did. Is there anything that you were hearing
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: that I wasn't. I haven't said out loud yet because
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: I would love to hear if you have any feedback
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: from myself and we're doing that kind of vice versa.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: So I just thought it was very cool in general,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: and now we've already identified a couple of things. I
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: know me for myself. It's like the way I talk
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: to Rue when she has a dress on it. She
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: looks super pretty, and all I do, kind of as
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: a dadd is give her praise because I don't know
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: necessarily know what else to kind of give her other bag,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, you look so beautiful, And I'm just
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: telling her all these praise things versus like I could
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: be asking her questions on why did you pick out
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: that dress? Or I love those colors? What made you
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: like you know the color blue? In this one, I
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: let them kind of tap around and think about it
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: as to where you're not fully giving them their identity.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: And they're just coming to dad because ru Love's walking downstairs.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: She loves seeing the look on Dad's face. And I'm
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: calling her pretty and beautiful all the time, And how
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: can I because I want to say, I even brought
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: papers over from the notes. I took your boy over
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: here taking notes. Look at that, but changing my like
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: praise to encouragement, Yeah, to get them opening their minds
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: and thinking to where they're not seeing they're tying their
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: identity off of what Dad has telling me. Anytime I
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: think I look pretty, I want to go get Dad
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: as words of affirmation. Yeah, so really cool. That's where
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: my Craik of cole One goes to, We'll be able
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: to dive into it more because there's like stuff that
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I'm leaving. I'm like, oh, we're doing a core values
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: You're doing it more like a core values thing for
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: quote lessoner topic. And I would just love to share
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: some of the things I was learning in this class
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: that helped give me a lot of like correlation and
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: breaking things down to just kind of keep things simple
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: because you think about values and the core values and
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: all that, and it's like, how can we cover all
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: this other than reading what people's values are being like yeah,
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: I love that, I love that value. Here's what mine
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: would be, and then kind of just stopping there. But
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: it'll be fun, it'll be fun to jump.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Into very fun. And God's just a reminder that Cracker
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Cold one segment was brought to us by Liquid IV.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Don't let the grind drain You Ditch the glitch with
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: zero sugar and zero crash from Liquid IV. Tear poor
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: live more and go to liquidiv dot com and get
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: twenty percent off your first order with code busting at checkout.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: That's twenty percent off your first order with code busting
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: at liquidiv dot com. Sixteen ounces of water. That's pretty hydrating,
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: but it's even more hydrating when you got some liquid IV.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: And that's it. Scene ounces of water.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: And just for clarity, you have comments or values.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: I have comments.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: It's only value. Only have comments on value. So let
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: do what we want to do.
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: The hotline we got thirty five minutes, so I think
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: we have time for one hotline and then we'll go
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: into the values and now winter our show.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Okay, sounds good, let's park And the only reason we're
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: on a time crunch is we have an awesome guest
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: coming into the shop that we're going to be doing
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: an interview on busting with the boys. So that's the
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: reason we're kind of in a structured like a time zone.
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: Really see really one shelf shift cooking it up.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Sure we got met fast stafford.
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: I got a little dad hacked for you guys that
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: I actually picked up from my mom when I was
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: a kid.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: I'm hacked.
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: So where you get a you have a bunch of kids,
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: or even just one kid. You're trying to save a
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: little money, your son, your daughter, two, three, four years old,
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: you're going out to eat. You don't want to spend
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: that extra money. Ten dollars for a buffet, fifteen dollars
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: for this buffet, No, sir, let him know how old
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: your kid is. Yep, he's three and under. How old
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: is he actually four or five?
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: But he looks three.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: They can't tell. They don't check IDs.
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: They don't have IDs yet.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: Let him know.
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: We used to go to see these pizza Chinese buffets
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: all the time.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: As a kid.
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: I was about three years old till till I was six.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: So they save a few hundred a year that way,
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: maybe even thousand.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: You have just a little dad hack out there.
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: Might not be the most ethical one, but it'll keep
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: your pockets a little fatter.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: It's six out fellas.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great dad act. That's all time. That
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: might be number one right now.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: They don't check. Yeah, they don't have IDs.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: Bro.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: That made me laugh to where I had tears in
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: the side of my eyes. That was really funny.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: Dude, he's three, he's got a mustache.
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: Imagine CCS gets a child bouncer sitting at the front.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I love this, doesn't got it. I have a
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: great video that I'll send you. You have to remind
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: me of a guy doing the outside of a Toys
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: r us. It's one of the funniest videos I've ever
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: seen of a kid bouncer.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: But yeah, dude, and shout out CCS. Shout out CC's Pizza.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: Man, Oh my god, I wish I could go back
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: to lill League days and see a young Willie c
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: just tearing apart of meats Budy, I bet you were
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: a demon demon the Creative Pizzas.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Oh that's a mac and cheese pizza. Let me get that.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: And I know you're just fist full of pizza with
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: one end and you're in the arcades.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: At our CC's had the little hockey game, you know how,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: it's kind of like, what what's the what's the game?
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Yeah, like foosball.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: We're moving or you're kind of moving the hockey players around.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: That that is a good game. Shout out that caller
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: to you.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I think what is it the cinnamon rolls at CC's Pizza.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: Come on, man, Oh.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Yeah, we might Hey, that might be our next Pizza
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: six meet up, just saying.
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: Say, pizza is still alive. Oh, it's got Yeah, it's
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: gott revamped. Oh really we're talking about CC's pizza. We're
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: talking about all you can staple. What's the price of
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: it now?
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: Probably sad?
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I know back in my day, I want to
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: say maybe six bucks, seven bucks. That's crazy. All you
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: can eat pizza moment.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: Can order.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: I mean, that's not that. Ain't the experience?
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't look like they do all you can
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: eat anymore.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: Okay, we'll we'll figure Yeah, we'll get into we'll do
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: some detective.

- 1:09:22Speaker 1: We will shut it down. We welcome all.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: We have our fast ones. I was thinking for the
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: fast ones, we can read names and then just kind
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: of find in the comment like what that value is like.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: N M.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: Cola fifty six hundred says dreaming big, working hard, and
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: staying humble g L three as nine and just.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: For just for context, two people that are tapped in
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago, we talked about what is
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: a core value you would love to instill on your
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: kid for the rest of time? Yes, and not to
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: get overwhelmed. I know there's a bunch out there that
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: everybody wants to do, but just to give us some
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: some thought topics, some stuff to give the audience.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: Absolutely from you guys. Absolutely. Do you want me to
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: go into mine and then we can go boom boom
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: boom on the fast ones.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Sure?
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Yeah so, I said. Nm Cola fifty six hundred on
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: YouTube said dreaming big, working hard, and staying humble are
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: the values they would want.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: I got one here from Uncle Tony two on Instagram.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Be the hardest worker in the room. With whatever it
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: is you're doing. It's very difficult to outperform hard work.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Am into that, amen?
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Amen. Gl three as nine to one on YouTube said
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: determination with a flex emoji.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Got one here from a Drew oh ninety on Instagram.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Above all else, be kind.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Peyton Headwald three two zero six on YouTube said gratitude.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Gratitude, and then I'm going to write the down as well.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: Oh I like that.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: Gratitude, hard work, kind, humble.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: The Turning Company on Instagram said resilience.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Resilience. That's yes, that's my favorite resilience. Oh, I got
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: one here from from Weber Leaf of value strength emotionally, physically,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: in brain power and brain power or whatever. I guess,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: just value themselves.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: That's a pt sixer right there. That's not an empty
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: six The Big Veldt on Instagram said curiosity tempered with
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: kindness curiosity.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Oh, we.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Just value yours to themselves.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I guess, just value themselves respect or respect for themselves
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: others in the journey for life.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Ooh respect and who did that?
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: That one came from Roddy thirty one on Instagram.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Aj Jacobson eighteen on Instagram said courage and authenticity. I
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: freaking I love those. Yes, courage and authenticity, especially the authenticity.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: Great job, ajam My.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Here for one from erect d erect d erect d
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: on Instagram sick work ethic, talent and likability only get
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: you so far. Those who put their head down and
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: grind will always rise to the top. Both my parents
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: had excellent work ethic and were amazing examples to me.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: My wife's work ethic is impeccable. I hope I am
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: upholding my part. Oh shut out Eric, especially giving credit
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: everywhere else.
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: Steven Barrera forty nine on Instagram said accountability own everything
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: you do or don't do.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: Accountability. Every day I asked my girls, what are you?
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: This is the this is values homework from hollow hollow
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: point hollow point forty five on YouTube.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: Here's the values homework.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: He even timestamped it the two hour ten mark from
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: a couple episodes ago.
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: Every day I asked my girls, what are you? Smart? Strong, beautiful?
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: Flex muscles, point to the head, hand on cheeks to
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: teach them when they're toddlers. What do you do? They respond?
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: They respond, pay attention, work hard, do the right thing.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: We've recently added, how do we eat good, eat effort, attitude, toughness.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: That is fire one hollow point.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: Yeah, keep that one.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: That's a that's a dad hack for everybody too. What
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: are you strong? Smart, beautiful? What do you do? Pay attention,
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: work hard, do the right thing? How do we eat? Effort, attitude, toughness? Dude?
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: Those girls are so lucky they got they got some
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: parents like that.
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: I love that He comments on almost everything we post, too,
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: especially so big siko hollow point.
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Thank you for being a siko dude, it sounds like
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: you're incredible dad as well. H grees on Instagram set persistence.
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: If I had to pick one, I want her to
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: be a dog fight for whatever she wants, needs and
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: finds a way to make it happen.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: So we have Mets Camfield here. Value the process more
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: than the results. If you work hard and treat people well,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: that's a great process and should be all you need
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: to focus on. You can only control your controllables and
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: you can't control the results. But having a sound process
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: such as treating people well and working hard will put
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: you in a great position to be successful. So I'm
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: going to write down process over results what I'm going
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: to try and do here if I can regurgitate or
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: broken Lee put together some of the things I was
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: learning in this positive discipline class. So one thing we
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: went over at the very start was like everybody like
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: the class had to answer like what are challenges that
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: you're currently going through as a parent? And so you
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: have people like sure, if I were to ask you,
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: what is a challenge right now as a parent that
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: your kiddo is giving you a challenge with? You have
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: a four month old, so that's kind of hard. But
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: if there was one like, let's brainstorm challenges that are
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: out there for me. I stood up there like if
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: you could, if you can break it down and not
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: give us a few sentences, but if it was a
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: headline in a newspaper, what would it be?
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: And I was, like.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: I said, whining the epidemic that's taking us all down
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: as parents and using it. So whining and using your
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: strong voice was one for Reu. Okay, so like we
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: had whining, you had, we had like breakdowns at the
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: grocery store. Breakdown like breakdowns, tantrums.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: Give me some more sure mine is during feeds, just
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: not wanting to feed, like fighting the feed back.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: I guess. So we can say generally if we're if
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: we're grouping it together with like toddlers or older kids, like.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: Yeah, dinner time, oh, dinner time. Yeah yeah, yeah, I
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: like that bedtime. I would say, is has it hasn't
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: been a full challenge, but there are It's difficult.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: And that one is one that will very much spike
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: up when they you know, when they're like getting more
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: aware and they're becoming toddlers and everything else. Yeah, not
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: getting what they want. Yes, dude, moms are speaking up
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: and it was like, uh a, mom was just saying
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: the challenge that she was having, which I think all
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: parents go through. But it's like mom is the comfort zone.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: So they cling to mom a lot. Oh dude, during
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: times where they're breaking down and everything else. It's like
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Mom is the one that gets drained because Mom is
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: like seen as a safe space. Dude.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: I'm going through that big right now, we're Scarlet. When
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Scarlet's in a temper tantrum type thing, she does not
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: want Dad. She wants chili band. Yeah.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: Yeah, bro, it's uh we yeah, we battle. We battle
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: that too. It's like Rue, I'll be in the bedroom, like, say,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: we just got done eating dinner. I came across this,
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: like this water flosser hire just shoots through your uho,
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: shoots through your teeth. Yeah, I love it. So when
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: I get done eating dinner, we had some beef last night,
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: so I had some some be stuck in the molars
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: back there, so I'm going in and using the flosster.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: Yeap.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: She was around seven o'clock. We're about to start prepping
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: for bedtime. Rue walks her little ass in to the
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: bathroom and she's like, uh, Dad, there are you doing
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: bedtime tonight. And I was like, you know, as I'm going,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: I know she asks us every night because she wants mom,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: and do you want that to do bedtime tonight?
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: No?
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: Why don't you want that to do bedtime? I want
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: mom to do bedtime? All right, go tell mom. But
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: as a small example, it was mom's turn to do bedtime. Yeah,
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: but just as a small example of like this clinging
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: to mom as just always Mom is what they want
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: at all, Like I'll go up to wake her up
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: in the morning. They're like, where's Mama? I want to
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: see mom, And I'll beg moms at work right now.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: It's you know, dad has getting out of bed and
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: getting you go in this morning? Did you sleep well?
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: I want mama.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: I don't want to get out of bed. And it's
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: just it's just a fight all the time, not like
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: a fight all the time, but just a lot of whining,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: a lot of things that's like I want mom in
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: this situation. I see on mom too. It's draining because
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: Mom's always got to be got. The one that's like
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: that's like their self soon is going to mom.
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay, So.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: What I gathered from this is first we talked about
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: what challenges we went across, and then it was all
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: about all right, now that we have our challenges lists
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: that they're writing on the board, doing some white board
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: work and some notework. Then it was they were going
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: around the classroom and saying, what are goals that you
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: have for your kid? Like, imagine talking to your kid
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: in thirty years they're thirty five years old, what goals
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: or what would you want them to represent? What characteristics?
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: So essentially the values and the goals that we've been
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: sitting here talking about. So people are going around the
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: room and my one was resilience because I love resilience
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: above most. I love a lot of core values, but
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: resilience always stands out to me because life is always
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: going to be unfair to you, and it's always about you,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: know how you respond to when life hits you in
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: the mouth. So if I could teach anything to my daughters,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: it would be mine was resilience that I gave.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: And so we just use our.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: List from breaking it down into one word by everybody
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: that chimed in, we have on our list kind, gratitude,
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: hard work, humble, dream big, resilience, curiosity, respect, courage, authenticity, accountability, eat, effort, attitude, toughness,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: process over results.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: So we have our listening.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: Here where we have our challenges list things you're kind
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: of going through as a parent, and I would encourage
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: you and your wife to kind of talk about what
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: challenges you might be going through to where it's like
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: things that you can tap into, because this is going
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: to be a full circle reminder on how you can
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: go about handling like those next situations together as a
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: team lock an arm. But we have the challenges whining,
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: breakdowns and tantrums, dinner time, not getting what they want, bedtime,
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: and clinging to mom. So as there's a quote that
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: I said a while back that a gentleman gave me
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: somebody that was associated with the school, and I was
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: kind of meeting him for the first time at the
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: park when us going around and playing with the kids,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: and he gave me those quotes where it's like, it's
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: those moments where whether you're trying to get their shoes on,
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: they're pissed about what clothes they want to wear, shoes, YadA, YadA, YadA,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: talking to them in the next thirty seconds the way
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: you want to see them thirty years down the road
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: instead of the short term animal brain. We all get resistant,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: we all get upset about things. It's like when I'm
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: sitting there trying to put rou in the car seat
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: and everything else, a moment is happening, and it's it's
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: how you grab to the goals and the values that
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: we have, connecting with the goals versus correcting the challenges.
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: So connection over correction. So in those thirty in that
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: thirty second spanner, it could be a few minutes long
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: as you're sitting there with your child, breaking it down
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: and trying to mold them into these human beings they want,
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: we want them to be based on all these values.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: It's how can you connect with them away in those
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: thirty seconds or in those tough moments that isn't going
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: to correct the next thirty seconds, but mold them into
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: what you want them to be in the next thirty years.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: So I thought that was like a good full circle thing.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: And the way I broke it down on my mind
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: before the dads is that space right here is good. Yeah, whining,
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: good breakdowns, tantrums, good dinner time. They don't want to
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: eat their food, they're negotiating with you. They want a cookie,
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: They're not gonna eat, You're gonna have to sit there
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: at dinner table with them for a while, and they're
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: giving you a hard time good not getting what they want.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: You're going to the grocery store, they want a toy.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: You're trying to teach them the value of a dollar.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Just teach them anytime you walk in somewhere you're not
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: going to pick out something, and they're giving you a
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: lot of trouble about that in front of everybody. You
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: feel embarrassed. Good, are you going to snap and try
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: and correct the behavior for just thirty seconds and just
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: be very like disconnected, or are you going to connect
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: with them about, Hey, I know you really want this,
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: and right now we're not buying anything, so you know
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: then like me, I would think, I know you really
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: want this right now and we're not here to buy anything.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: So help that really needs your help picking out X,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Y and Z. Can you help me go find that,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: try and redirect their brain a little bit, and then
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: I'll follow up in the car. Hey, the reason why
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: we don't things at the grocery store is YadA, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: Whatever value you're wanting to instill and connect with them
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: when their brain is ready to go because they're also
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: teaching you. Like the brain like with the hand, when
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: everything gets when everything gets heightened, your brain is like this,
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: like the emotional part of the brain is firing. Nobody's learning,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: nobody's connecting, nobody wants to hear what you have to
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: say or talk. It's just about how do you not
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: match that energy as a parent, keep poised and keep
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: controlled here and get them to where it Now they're
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: in a calm state and you can talk to them
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: about what happened and what a moment and an opportunity.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: We now have to teach them a good value or
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: start instilling those values and start molding them into the
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: adults we hope that they become one day. So I
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: thought it was very good and just to go out
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: this giving you a hard time of bedtime, good clinging
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: to mom, you see your daughter, your son cleaning to mom.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: And moments where it's like it kind of pisses me
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: off right now as a dad that it's almost like
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: you're taking it as a sign of disrespect to where
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: at times I've been more of like state and officers
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: like fine, go to mom, or I just act mad
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: in front of herr to let her know she hurt
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: my feelings, which is what am I trying to accomplish
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: right there as a grown ass adult when my kid
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: is losing her mind or she's wanting mom and just
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: not me in that moment. Yeah, yeah, I'm not doing
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: anything conducive to either of us. I'm just I'm being
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: as petty as she is, so I'm like removing myself.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: I'm removing myself from it versus just staying in the pocket,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: staying present, letting her know. Heysweetart. I know you really
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: want mom right now. Whenever the time calls for you
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: to want to hug from dad, I would really love
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: to read your story. If you want dad at a
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Regia story, I will come back upstairs and Regio story.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: I know you don't want me to right now, and
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: that's okay, but just I'm going to be right outside,
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: so you just let that Dad know that usually comes
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: full circle to you at some point they might use
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: mom up and then they I'm going to get the
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: second parent dad in right now, But you just start
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: bridging that gap of those moments of frustration instead of
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: leaning into the correction of every challenge that parents go through.
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: All of this stuff right here.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: It's good in your brain and you we have to think,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: how can we connect with our kids to find these
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: moments of opportunity to teach them what we want them
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: to be in the future.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Yes, and having the values. I love this strategy from
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: the standpoint of having those values that right call them
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: if you want to show them again, will of let's say,
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: with dinner time and she's not eating. Not only the
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: not eating part, I'm sure is frustrating, but if you're
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: wanting them to have curiosity and trying new foods, like
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: what is the end goal? And being able to identify
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: a value that you want them to exhibit, it's not
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: only how can I get them to eat? But how
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: can I have them be more you know, have a
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: more curious palette. And I know that that's like a
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: weird example.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: But also like it's like, you know, the whole thing
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: of positive discipline, and it's like, you know, it's like
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: one of those things like when you were in the
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: army back in the day, there were hard skills and
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: soft skills. Back in the day, the hard skills is
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: what men wanted to do. It was you know, the gun,
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: it was the flying the helicopters. It was the shit
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: that sounded manly. Now that we know, over time, with
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: a lot of data and everything else, we've realized that
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: the soft skills are where the success comes from for people.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: When those hard skills are done and gone and you
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: can't do them anymore, do you have those soft skills developed,
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Whether it's with people, whether it's with communicating, whether it's
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: understanding what empathy looks like, the whole just being kind thing,
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: being kind and firm. But so I say that to say, like,
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: I don't know how positive discipline comes off the lips
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: to some parents, because there's a lot of old school
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: parents that might hear positive discipline. What a weird way
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: to just be like, you know, to not try and
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: discipline your kids. You want to be in a really
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: kind Hey, here's a ribbon way. It's not that at all.
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: It's like when you're learning to be kind and firm
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: in a dinner example, it's like, hey, I can sit
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: here and talk kindly to my child and be very
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: firm about what the boundary is, sweetheart. There is no
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: piece of a cookie if you don't eat your dinner.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: And how the can be nutritious to your body like
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: you're trying to teach them, like why it's important to
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: eat your food, Why we sit down as a family
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: and we eat dinner together. Why there's no options of
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: a buffet that you get to choose from, or you
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: get to eat pasta or chicken nuggets every night. You're
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: going to eat what is being served. There's going to
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: be values that you learn in that. And if you
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: want to give us a very hard time about it,
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: instead of lashing back at them or being very corrective
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: in the state just because you're frustrated, you're trying to
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: teach them what those lessons are and teach them that, hey,
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: your opportunity to eat is now, and if you do
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: want this dangly carrot at the end of the tunnel,
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: like that doesn't happen unless you're part of the clean
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: play club, or unless you do eat. If they give
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: you a very hard time and they don't want to eat,
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: they're not going to starve. Going in the nighttime. That
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: was one that my wife and I were going back
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: and forth, and I was like, I was kind of
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: glad to hear the lady talk about your kid's not
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: gonna starve, because char would think like she needs to
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: get something in her stomach at some point, because what
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: we'll do is she'll manipulate. She'll choose, all right, I'll
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: go to bed and not eat dinner. Should go up
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: to bed, and then all of a sudden, after a
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: Harri's brushed on her teeth brush, it's I'm hungry. I
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: want to snack. So then you feel like you've got
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: to give them something because they didn't eat dinner. Where
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: it's now we understand that there's even an extra layer
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: of the boundary there to like, hey, sweetheart, you missed
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: out on your opportunity. There are natural consequences in life.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: There are a logical consequences in life, and you kind
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: of gave them a logical consequence. We explained what had
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: to be done or what you needed to do. You
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: failed to do. So, you say, in any way you
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: want to you failed to do so tomorrow we'll have
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: another opportunity to eat in the morning for breakfast. You
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: have the other opportunity. That's why we pack your lunch
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: to go to school. We know you eat your lunch
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: when it's time that you get that thirty twenty thirty
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: minute window at school. And then it's the same thing
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: for dinner, but it's a way to be the whole
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: positive discipline, learning how to be kind and firm. Those
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: words that come off your lips as a man doesn't
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: feel tough, it doesn't feel masculine. This make you feel
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: like a man. It's like, oh, this is a way
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: to coddle this next generation. So where I'm sitting there,
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: open minded, learning as much as our pos possibly can,
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: taking notes and everything, and I'm walking away like, man,
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: that is some really good shit to understand, because even psychologically,
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: they're teaching you to use the as soon as not
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: if then if you eat your food, then you'll get
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: your cookie. Hey, as soon as you eat your food,
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: you will get your cookie. And getting away from adding
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: and and not butt like saying all the things and
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: then saying, but you didn't do X, Y and Z
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: therefore blah blah blah blah blah. Because even psychologically, as humans,
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: if you read any negotiation book, they teach a skill,
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: a soft skill of using and and not butt. Because
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: most adults, when you hear, whether it's an apology or
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: a conversation, you hear everything up to the butt, but
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: then when the butt comes everything before the butt you
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: forget about whatever the compliment was because now you're focused
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: on the negative outcome. Yep versus Hey, this happened, and
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: here's what we do. They kind of like weirdly like
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: we rewires your brain. So I'm walking away from this
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: workshop being like, Yo, this shit is all I'm all
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: about it, So I hope you guys got something out
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: of that. I love sitting there for two hours kind
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: of breaking all this stuff down, figuring like, Hey, how
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: can I come into for the dads and give whatever
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: I can what I learned again. I would highly encourage
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: any couple, any parent out there, to go to a
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: positive discipline course or any type of workshop in the
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: world of parenting because I was fired up trying. I
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: kind of walked away, kind of fired up together a
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: couple of fist pounds on things that we feel like
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: we do well, Hey, here are things that we can
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: get better at. I'm immediately my brain immediately went to
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: my dad was like, you know, people like I hate
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: to say I'm proud of you because they have, you know,
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: their own background or own upbringing. Something like I'm proud
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: of you like kind of triggers them and like I know,
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: I say it to my kid, and I kind of
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: hate that I say to my kid, you do no.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: This was another, this is another bringing it up, and
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: so that got into the conversation of praise versus encouragement.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: And I'm sitting there, I'm like, you know, they're sitting
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: there wearing dresses. Dad's not a big dress guy. There's
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: kind of this battle back and forth at home that
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: Dad doesn't want her to wear dresses. She loves to
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: wear dresses, so he kind of doesn't know what to
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: say or how to handle it. So it kind of
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: opened up that conversation on praise and encouragement to where
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: I'm sitting there. I'm like, I do this all the
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: time because I almost don't know. I know Ruth feels pretty.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: I'm glad she feels pretty. She loves she's a lady.
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: When she sees the look on dad has face of
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: being beautiful and oh my gosh, you're so beautiful. But
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: I'm sitting there and I'm like, I know that in
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: the long run, that's not I'm not wanting her Just
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: to know that you show up and somebody tells you
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: that you're beautiful, that's what makes you feel beautiful is
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: an external being or another person or something else telling
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: you that you're beautiful. So I'm like getting equipped with
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: some of these tools of like, you know, oh my gosh,
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: look at that dress? Does that how does the dress
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: make you feel? Or like why did you pick out
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: those colors? Of just asking her questions to encourage her
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: to speak on what makes her feel so good in
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: the outfit that she's wearing. Long rant, long spill.
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: No, that's a great it's a great rant. And if anything,
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: it's just an example of communication. The communication with your child,
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: the communication with your partner. Got to have an open
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: line of communication in order to succeed as a team.
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: And I love this strategy from the standpoint of all
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: it is doing is opening that line of communications that
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: what do we want, what values do we want our
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: child to have? How are we going to go about
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: having them exhibit those values? How are we going to
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: go about fixing these things? What are some things that
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: I don't do very well? What are some things that
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: I have been doing well? You have to be communicating
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: at all times because when you are in the trenches,
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: you get stuck in the same routine, same routine. If
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: I check these things off if they eat shit, piss
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: and go to bed. I did it, you know, and
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: hey it may have been hell and I had a
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: terrible day, but we're going to wake up and we're
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: just going to do it again. Whatever, And you get
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: stuck in those cycles. I love that it's getting broken
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: up by annow you know, analysis of how did I
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: do today? What could I get better? Yeah?
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: Yeah, to go off the communication and having that open
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: mind in like welcoming blind spots that you could have there.
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: You know, they're definitely parents. I can I can be
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: one of those at times to where there might be
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: a judgment that I'm feeling, to where it's like all parent,
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: how I want a parent versus actually sitting with myself.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: Is anything they're saying of substance to where I can
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: check myself or look into a different formula or a concept.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: But yeah, that's the thing. The biggest takeaway is in
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: those moments of challenge, how do you keep yourself from
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: correcting the next thirty seconds and connecting to a value
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: you want to instill over the next thirty years. That
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: was the biggest takeaway from this workshop for myself, and yeah,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: of everybody, hope everybody enjoyed.
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: The episode Good sewed great, so, good sowed good? So
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: and so yours was resilience correct?
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: Mine was resilience? Okay? Cool?
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: What was yours? Confidence? But like with coupled with humility
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: and strength coupled with kindness.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: I love that and I'm totally sorry for not having
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: that and like writing it down on the list or
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: just checking in on my boy of like hey, what
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: was your value?
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: No, You're fine.
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: I kind of just it kind of got away from
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: me and it kind of just got going. I'm sitting here,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: I'm like, this is all very broken. I'm also very
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: excited to talk about it. I didn't prep for how
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: to talk about it.
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: Okay, I thought you I thought you one nailed it.
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: I thought too, this developed into something totally like the
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: higher tiered than what we were even going to do.
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: And I learned something today, Like I truly was sitting
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: here just listening to you talking was like this is
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: we would.
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: Have been in there doing the skits together. Man, it
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: was cool. It was cool. We will have to find
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: We'll have to find something where it's like hey, another
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: PT six meetups, we're going here to learn it.
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: This workshop you guys, and maybe you can test me
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: on or not test me, but you can run me
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: through some of those here on the pod too.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: Yeah, we all will have to get out try and
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: figure out some some of the scripts.
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: Yeah, sounds like we should host one that was that
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: was really well done.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: Well, yeah that could Yeah, that could be fun. That
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: could be fun, Professor Compton. That's the thing too, it's
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: like I'm going through that and we say it all
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: the time. We never want to come off as like experts.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: It's more like I'm taking in all this information. I'm
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: very excited to share with everybody. I you know, you
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: hope you do a great job at the same time
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: not coming off as like this is the authority. Yeah,
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: but yeah, that'd be a lot of fun. Make sure
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: you take out your trash, big hugs, tiny kisses, and
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: uh yeah.
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: Quick episode. We brought it up at the top, but
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: we aren't getting away from reading comments, we aren't getting
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: away from reading emails. This was just it was going
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: to be a quick sode because of the schedule, and
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: we can't wait to read y'all's comments and emails and
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: call ins, et cetera.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: And we read a bunch and we right, We yeah,
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: we still ride and we still run. But yeah, make
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: sure you take out your trash. We love you, we
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: appreciate you. Papa team sticks out. See you next week.
