- 0:00Speaker 1: It's a brand new feature on. One more thing. It's
- 0:04Speaker 1: one more thing. I'm strong and getty. One more thing
- 0:11Speaker 1: before we get to the new feature. Michaelangelo, you had
- 0:15Speaker 1: a big birthday over the weekend. Yeah, I turned fifty.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Nice celebration, how to go.
- 0:21Speaker 2: I tried to keep it low key, just to go,
- 0:24Speaker 2: went out to dinner, got some gifts, family friends, you.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Know, just low key, nothing exciting. I'm not a big partier. Yeah,
- 0:33Speaker 1: we know that about you. Yeah. I was thinking I
- 0:37Speaker 1: was going to do something like huge for my sixtieth
- 0:39Speaker 1: and didn't. It was fun, it was great. The kids
- 0:42Speaker 1: were in town, so we just kind of celebrated as
- 0:44Speaker 1: a family and it was fine. I was thinking of
- 0:46Speaker 1: like hiring one of my favorite bands and having them
- 0:48Speaker 1: do a private show. I had visions of grandeur, but
- 0:51Speaker 1: then it's not notale with it sounds like a lot
- 0:53Speaker 1: of work. Yeah, Loki's the best.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I think.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I did have a heck of a wing ding for
- 0:59Speaker 1: my four That was fun. I remember that. Yeah, winging.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Oh it was. It was like a barbecued catering and
- 1:09Speaker 1: a cag and uh, the dead flowers were active at
- 1:14Speaker 1: that point, so I think we may have played a
- 1:16Speaker 1: little bit, just with acoustic guitars and stuff like that,
- 1:18Speaker 1: and other people strummed and and my dog got drunk,
- 1:22Speaker 1: and uh it was it was a good party.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Really, How did how did the dog get drunk?
- 1:27Speaker 1: Well, in the I think it was the next morning,
- 1:31Speaker 1: the keg was still out there in the garbage can,
- 1:35Speaker 1: like with melted ice, and like all of the beer
- 1:38Speaker 1: and foam that had spilled over, So the water was
- 1:40Speaker 1: probably mildly alcoholic. And this was Onyx, are our old
- 1:45Speaker 1: black lab and he was unmistakably intoxicated, which is not
- 1:49Speaker 1: good for dogs. Their livers are not made to take
- 1:52Speaker 1: an alcohol. It's a terrible idea. Don't feed alcohol to
- 1:54Speaker 1: your dog. So we were really concerned about it, but
- 1:57Speaker 1: called the vet. The vet said, how much did he drink?
- 1:59Speaker 1: I'll keep an eye and I'm gonna let us know
- 2:01Speaker 1: if anything crazy happens. It was fine.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Meanwhile, Onyx is just chilling and just really wishes he
- 2:05Speaker 2: had a cigarette.
- 2:06Speaker 1: You know, I was wondering was he an angry drunk
- 2:09Speaker 1: or no, he was a laying around in the sunshine drunk,
- 2:15Speaker 1: which was what he was sober as well. So you know,
- 2:19Speaker 1: when somebody gets drunk, their real character comes out. Yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 1: he wanted to lay in the sunshine. He's a big
- 2:23Speaker 1: black dog, was a big pup dog. God rest his
- 2:25Speaker 1: doggy soul. But anyway, so happy belated birthday, Michael. Although
- 2:29Speaker 1: we wished you happy birthday at the time, hope, yeah, no,
- 2:32Speaker 1: I appreciated wishes. Yeah yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Of course, a bunch of love filled messages telling him
- 2:37Speaker 2: you had one foot in the grave.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yep, skulls and crossbones, that sort of thing, the traditional
- 2:43Speaker 1: I got a lot of those. Yes, Well, we laugh
- 2:46Speaker 1: about the things we fear as human beings. It's it's
- 2:48Speaker 1: part of being a human being. Anyway. So here's the
- 2:51Speaker 1: new feature, and of course it has to have a
- 2:55Speaker 1: theme song. So I've been working on it. I've been
- 2:57Speaker 1: working on this for hours. Sto, what is we didn't
- 3:01Speaker 1: get to today? Stories we didn't get to today? What
- 3:09Speaker 1: do you think? Katie's look says it all abject horror.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I don't like to light you Joel A plate thirty three, Michael,
- 3:21Speaker 1: This is not good. This just should not happen.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Owen Ray was on spring break with a friend in Copenhagen, Denmark,
- 3:28Speaker 3: and the attorney tells us the two were heading back
- 3:31Speaker 3: to their hotel the night of March thirtieth, had a
- 3:33Speaker 3: dispute with their ride share driver. The pair that exited
- 3:37Speaker 3: the vehicle. The driver subsequently got out as well and
- 3:40Speaker 3: kicked Owen. Owen then pushed back and the driver fell.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Owen and his friend ran away and then went to
- 3:47Speaker 3: the airport for their separate flights home the next day.
- 3:50Speaker 3: That's when authorities prevented them from boarding their flights, deeming
- 3:54Speaker 3: them to be a flight risk. The attorney says, the
- 3:56Speaker 3: pair has been in custody since that time.
- 4:00Speaker 1: You know, I would have to say to the authorities,
- 4:03Speaker 1: I'm about to walk on an airliner and you're calling
- 4:07Speaker 1: me a flight risk. Get how funny that is? I mean,
- 4:12Speaker 1: do you understand how funny? How Why are you hitting me?
- 4:17Speaker 1: Those cuffs are tight? Oh, I'm a guaranteed flight risk.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I'm literally getting ready. Oh you get it, I get Oh,
- 4:25Speaker 1: stop hitting me. So that reminds me of ages ago.
- 4:32Speaker 1: So back when Jack drank Katie, we would occasionally like
- 4:39Speaker 1: go out on the town, particularly if we were we
- 4:42Speaker 1: would go to our affiliate in San Francisco at the
- 4:44Speaker 1: time a fair amount and do meetings and broadcasts from
- 4:48Speaker 1: there and meet clients and that sort of thing, like
- 4:51Speaker 1: at the beginning, once a week overnight. Okay, we'd be
- 4:54Speaker 1: there for a couple of days and then it was
- 4:56Speaker 1: less and less. But so we would often we were
- 4:59Speaker 1: young and wrong and hardy at that point, but we
- 5:01Speaker 1: would often go out and get our drink on and
- 5:06Speaker 1: I would I would always bow out, you know, like
- 5:10Speaker 1: it was already two hours later than I should have stopped.
- 5:14Speaker 1: But I'd be like I going back.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Oh.
- 5:16Speaker 1: So Jack would plunge on through the night. I mean
- 5:20Speaker 1: that doesn't shook me at all. He would barely sleep
- 5:23Speaker 1: at all, and it would have killed me. I just
- 5:25Speaker 1: don't have the constitution for it. But so the one
- 5:27Speaker 1: time we parted company and he just continued on doing
- 5:31Speaker 1: whatever he did, and he got a cab ride home
- 5:35Speaker 1: from this. You know what, stealing somebody else's story is terrible,
- 5:39Speaker 1: it's plagiarism. But he had a cabby and the ride
- 5:43Speaker 1: share thing reminded me of it, who had some sort
- 5:46Speaker 1: of accent. And Jack said, so, where are you from?
- 5:49Speaker 1: And Cabby said, you know whatever, here San Francisco. He said, no, no,
- 5:53Speaker 1: where are you from originally? And he's like, I've lived
- 5:56Speaker 1: in San Francio. No, your family where they're from, and
- 5:59Speaker 1: this guy took a fence to it and he started yelling,
- 6:04Speaker 1: what do you want me to do? Dig up my
- 6:06Speaker 1: parents and show you their bones?
- 6:10Speaker 3: My own family.
- 6:11Speaker 1: You insucked my family, and he went crazy and Jack
- 6:15Speaker 1: thought he was gonna have to fight him, and the
- 6:17Speaker 1: guy just heaved him out of the cab, said get
- 6:18Speaker 1: out of my cab, set him somewhere in the middle
- 6:21Speaker 1: of San Francisco to make his way home again. Oh
- 6:25Speaker 1: my gosh, I do you want me to dig up
- 6:27Speaker 1: my parents' bones bones? Yes, yes, I howl in that
- 6:32Speaker 1: at you. They're pissed off. Throws you out of the cap.
- 6:35Speaker 2: The amount of money I would pay to go back
- 6:37Speaker 2: in time and have one of those nights out with
- 6:39Speaker 2: both of you guys.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, man, Yeah, well you could. You could probably
- 6:46Speaker 1: get some fairly accurate accounts of it from Jamie Coffee,
- 6:51Speaker 1: who was our news person at the time, who would
- 6:54Speaker 1: go with us on these tracks. Believe it or not. Yeah,
- 6:58Speaker 1: there was budget for three people's hotel rooms. No way. Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I know. Well I think it was trade like you other,
- 7:05Speaker 1: in exchange for advertising, but it was almost always at
- 7:08Speaker 1: the Fabulous Handlery Hotel. Ye shout out to John Handlery
- 7:11Speaker 1: and the crew always nice right off of Union Square,
- 7:15Speaker 1: beautiful hotel and just lovely anyway, good times. But yeah,
- 7:19Speaker 1: we would all go out and Scott our producer, Scotty
- 7:23Speaker 1: shout out to you too, my friend. It was just
- 7:26Speaker 1: it was crazy, stupid, unnecessary, excessive.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, this industry kind of creates that sometimes though.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and we would we at least once we're all
- 7:45Speaker 1: out together, and and somebody decided it was a good
- 7:48Speaker 1: idea as we walked along the pavement to stop in
- 7:51Speaker 1: one of the well sex shops in San Francisco that
- 7:58Speaker 1: had various toys and elements and accessories for you to
- 8:03Speaker 1: enjoy intimacy's with the partner of your choice, and just
- 8:07Speaker 1: walked around, giggling, looking at all the devices and and
- 8:11Speaker 1: talking about them and suggesting what could be done with them.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Which again it's it's three dudes and a woman. Although Jamie,
- 8:17Speaker 1: God bless her, Katie, you would get along with great
- 8:20Speaker 1: because she is no shrinking violet. Okay, I mean, if
- 8:23Speaker 1: something truly offensive were said in that setting, it was
- 8:26Speaker 1: Jamie saying.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yes, okay, well she sounds like my spirit animal.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Then yeah, yeah, yeah, you're you're a sister from another
- 8:33Speaker 1: mister or something. Yeah, what, Oh I love Jamie anyway?
- 8:37Speaker 1: Uh dur where was I?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Oh?
- 8:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and so it was just it was one of
- 8:41Speaker 1: those nights. Got a great song out of one of
- 8:44Speaker 1: those nights, post Street Blues. Look it up on Apple
- 8:47Speaker 1: Music or wherever you get your music.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Okay, just.
- 8:51Speaker 1: So hammered.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Is there another track called do You Want Me to
- 8:54Speaker 2: Dig Up My Parents' Bones?
- 8:56Speaker 1: It's an instrumental? Yeah, okay, all right, back to stories.
- 9:01Speaker 1: We didn't get to this thirty four. I think it's
- 9:08Speaker 1: self explanatatious, Michael, if you'd play that for us.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Several groups supporting crime victims are how speaking out against
- 9:14Speaker 4: resentencing for Lyle and Eric Menendez. A judge in Los
- 9:18Speaker 4: Angeles ruled Friday that process should move forward, which could
- 9:21Speaker 4: ultimately lead to their.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Release from prison.
- 9:24Speaker 4: The Menendez family says the brother's aunt, Terry Berralt, is
- 9:27Speaker 4: hospitalized in critical condition. They say she became upset when
- 9:30Speaker 4: the DA showed an image of Jose Menendez's lifeless body
- 9:34Speaker 4: during a hearing last week.
- 9:36Speaker 1: All right, so you got the whole Menendez brothers thing
- 9:40Speaker 1: and all here's the headline. I did not see coming
- 9:44Speaker 1: Rosi O'Donnell says convicted killer Lyle Menendez is the first
- 9:48Speaker 1: straight man she could love and trust.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Oh good, good, very good. I'm sure she's thrilled about
- 9:57Speaker 2: that headline.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Roso Donald, who I believe lives in Ireland now because
- 10:02Speaker 1: Trump got elected, has said that Lyle Menendez is the
- 10:07Speaker 1: first straight man she could love or trust. They've been
- 10:12Speaker 1: longtime friends. While he remained behind bars, he started calling
- 10:16Speaker 1: me on a regular basis from the tablet phone thing
- 10:19Speaker 1: they have. He would tell me about his life, what
- 10:20Speaker 1: he's been doing in prison, and for the first time
- 10:23Speaker 1: in my life, I felt safe enough to trust and
- 10:25Speaker 1: be vulnerable and love a straight man.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Well, I don't there's even words for that.
- 10:32Speaker 1: What I know? What is she trying? He's just everything?
- 10:38Speaker 2: Is she trying everything she can to be a headline
- 10:41Speaker 2: or relevant or something?
- 10:43Speaker 1: I don't know. This is bizarre. Yeah, I think she broke.
- 10:48Speaker 1: She's had a psychic break because the real estate developer
- 10:52Speaker 1: with whom she had a long and bitter feud is
- 10:54Speaker 1: now the most powerful man in the world, and she
- 10:56Speaker 1: just couldn't take it anymore. She's the female on you now. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:02Speaker 1: you know, there's there's a great deal. More to the story.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Maybe we'll hit it on the on the Armstrong and
- 11:07Speaker 1: Getty Show, the radio show tomorrow. But Rosie, get help, Darling.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Do they have help in Ireland? I think they probably
- 11:15Speaker 1: have a pretty good health plan. Get help. You're crazy,
- 11:18Speaker 1: cuckoout well. I guess that's it.
