Private capital is building the stablecoin economy faster than Washington is writing the rules for it. Fasset, a stablecoin neobank, crossed a billion-dollar valuation today. Circle's shares jumped roughly 30%. And large banks are pushing for identity checks on secondary stablecoin markets before those markets scale. All of this lands months ahead of the federal licensing regime. Treasury's comment window closes October 19. The OCC targets a supervisory rule by November. Issuer applications don't open until January 2027.
