Speaker 1: They basically said that we have one in there's somebody missing.
• 0:03
Speaker 2: Well, they didn't know.
• 0:04
Speaker 1: There was somebody missing until this leaker gave the information.
• 0:07
Speaker 1: So whoever it was, we think we'll be able to
• 0:09
Speaker 1: find it out because we're going to go to the
• 0:11
Speaker 1: media company that released it and we're going to say
• 0:14
Speaker 1: national Security, give it up or go to jail.
• 0:17
Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:21
  Speaker 2: Good Tuesday morning.
• 0:22
Speaker 4: Nice to have you with us on the forty seven
• 0:23
Speaker 4: Morning Update, and we've got two very big stories for
• 0:26
Speaker 4: you this morning. First up, President Trump had a White
• 0:29
Speaker 4: House press conference talking about Iran and multiple other issues,
• 0:33
Speaker 4: including hearing from the Secretary of War.
• 0:35
Speaker 2: We're going to break that down for you as well.
• 0:38
Speaker 4: And then there's a second story which is getting a
• 0:40
Speaker 4: lot of attention, the President saying we're going to find
• 0:44
Speaker 4: out who leaked the story about the second down US
• 0:48
Speaker 4: pilot in Iran. President was very upset about it and
• 0:52
Speaker 4: refer to the person that leaked it as a quote
• 0:54
Speaker 4: sick person. We'll have that for you as well. It's
• 0:58
Speaker 4: the forty seven Morning Update and it starts arts right now.
• 1:01
Speaker 4: Story number one at the White House, President Trump delivered
• 1:04
Speaker 4: one of the most intense and consequential briefings of the
• 1:08
Speaker 4: ongoing conflict with Iran, making it clear that the next
• 1:12
Speaker 4: twenty four to forty eight hours could define everything. The
• 1:15
Speaker 4: President opened by highlighting what he called a historic and
• 1:19
Speaker 4: highly complex military success, the daring rescue of two down
• 1:24
Speaker 4: American airmen deep inside Iranian territory.
• 1:29
Speaker 1: Thursday night, an American F fifteen fighter jet went down
• 1:33
Speaker 1: deep inside enemy territory in Iran while participating in Operation
• 1:39
Speaker 1: Epic Fury, where we're doing unbelievably well well at a
• 1:43
Speaker 1: level that nobody's ever seen before. The entire country could
• 1:47
Speaker 1: be taken out in one night, and that night might
• 1:50
Speaker 1: be tomorrow night. Both members of the crew ejected from
• 1:53
Speaker 1: the aircraft and landed alive on Iranian soil. I immediately
• 1:59
Speaker 1: was asked to make a decision. I ordered the US
• 2:03
Speaker 1: Armed Forces to do whatever was necessary to bring our
• 2:06
Speaker 1: brave warriors back home. A risky decision because we could
• 2:10
Speaker 1: have ended up with one hundred dead as opposed to
• 2:13
Speaker 1: one or two. It's a hard decision to make, but
• 2:16
Speaker 1: in the United States Military, we leave no American behind.
• 2:21
Speaker 5: We don't do it.
• 2:23
Speaker 1: Within hours of our Armed Forces deployed twenty one military
• 2:26
Speaker 1: aircraft into hostile airspace, many flying at very low altitude, being.
• 2:30
  Speaker 5: Shot by bullets.
• 2:32
Speaker 1: You bring rifles into play when you go in that
• 2:34
Speaker 1: low but there are also certain advantages. And in broad
• 2:39
Speaker 1: daylight over Iran for seven hours at times, facing very
• 2:43
Speaker 1: very heavy enemy fire. We have a helicopter. There's got
• 2:47
Speaker 1: a lot of bullets in it. It's amazing. We just
• 2:50
Speaker 1: realized how good those weapons are, those our machines are.
• 2:54
Speaker 1: Nobody has, Nobody has the equipment that we have, and
• 2:57
Speaker 1: nobody has the military that we have, not even the
• 3:01
Speaker 1: most powerful military anywhere in the world by far. The
• 3:04
Speaker 1: flight crews and warfighters aboard those aircraft took extraordinary risks
• 3:08
Speaker 1: to rescue their fellow service members. This first wave of
• 3:13
Speaker 1: search and rescue forces successfully located the pilot of the
• 3:16
Speaker 1: F fifteen and he was extracted from enemy territory by
• 3:22
Speaker 1: an H eight sixty Jolly Green two helicopter. Fabulous machine
• 3:27
Speaker 1: as their warriors faced gunfire at very close range. It's
• 3:32
Speaker 1: amazing that when you look at the machinery, what happened
• 3:35
Speaker 1: that nobody was even injured. Meanwhile, the second crew member,
• 3:39
Speaker 1: weapons system officer, a highly respected colonel had landed a
• 3:44
Speaker 1: significant distance away from the pilot. When you're going at
• 3:47
Speaker 1: those speeds, even if you go out two or three
• 3:49
Speaker 1: seconds later, it's miles, it's miles and miles away because
• 3:54
Speaker 1: you're going fast. He was injured quite badly and stranded
• 3:58
Speaker 1: in an area teaming with terrors from the Islamic Revolutionary
• 4:03
Speaker 1: Guard Corps ROUGH group, as well as besieged military militia
• 4:08
Speaker 1: and local authorities of many On top of everything else,
• 4:13
Speaker 1: they told the communities actually withinside of Iran, the people
• 4:19
Speaker 1: of Iran, they were given a tremendous incentive to find
• 4:23
  Speaker 1: this pilot.
• 4:24
Speaker 4: The present praising the US forces for executing a mission
• 4:28
Speaker 4: that involved elite special forces operation units, dozens of aircraft,
• 4:33
Speaker 4: and intelligence deception tactics by the CIA, all while engaging
• 4:38
Speaker 4: enemy forces and bringing both American pilots home safely. The
• 4:43
Speaker 4: Present made it clear America will always bring its people home,
• 4:47
Speaker 4: no matter the risk. The President also wanted to make
• 4:51
Speaker 4: it very clear that he was saying thank you to
• 4:53
Speaker 4: our US armed forces that were involved, and also saying
• 4:56
Speaker 4: thank you to God for protecting them while they were
• 5:00
  Speaker 4: doing this mission.
• 5:01
Speaker 1: I want to thank every member of the USAR forces
• 5:04
Speaker 1: involved in these historic operations. They really were historic. It's
• 5:07
Speaker 1: just not something that's done and you'd understand it. Not
• 5:11
Speaker 1: that they don't want to do it, but when you're
• 5:13
Speaker 1: going into areas, when you look at these helicopters, when
• 5:16
Speaker 1: you look at the amount of bullets and everything else
• 5:18
Speaker 1: that they took, when you go into these areas, you
• 5:21
Speaker 1: don't come out like we came out. God was watching us. Well,
• 5:26
Speaker 1: it was the Easter. We were in the Easter territory,
• 5:30
Speaker 1: I guess, but God was watching us.
• 5:32
  Speaker 5: Amazing.
• 5:33
Speaker 4: Now, the president quickly turned to the warning with Iran,
• 5:37
Speaker 4: President Trump issuing now a direct and unmistakable warning to
• 5:42
Speaker 4: the country, saying the regime is now facing a very
• 5:44
Speaker 4: short deadline to comply with US demands, including halting its
• 5:49
Speaker 4: nuclear ambitions and reopening the critical global shipping routes like
• 5:54
Speaker 4: the Strait of Hormuz. Trump warned that if Iran refuses,
• 5:57
Speaker 4: the United States is prepared to launch massive, overwhelming strikes
• 6:02
Speaker 4: hit key infrastructure, including energy and transportation systems, could be
• 6:07
Speaker 4: targeted as well, and in his words, Iran could be
• 6:09
Speaker 4: taken out in one night if necessary. At the same time,
• 6:14
Speaker 4: Trump emphasized he does not want war, but make clear
• 6:17
Speaker 4: that America is fully prepared if Iran forces the issue.
• 6:21
Speaker 4: The President also claimed intelligence suggests growing internal pressure inside
• 6:26
Speaker 4: of Iran, arguing that many civilians want change and are
• 6:30
Speaker 4: watching closely what happens next, which brings us to the
• 6:34
Speaker 4: Secretary of War Pete Headseth at the White House saying
• 6:37
Speaker 4: this about what Iran has decide very quickly.
• 6:42
Speaker 5: President Trump understands at peace through strength.
• 6:45
Speaker 6: It's not a slogan, it is a doctrine that saves
• 6:48
Speaker 6: American lives. He's on wavering commitment to rebuilding our military
• 6:52
Speaker 6: and restoring the warrior spirit. Has paid dividends in missions
• 6:57
Speaker 6: just like this one. Under his America projects power with
• 7:01
Speaker 6: confidence and brings our people home with victory.
• 7:05
Speaker 5: And that continues today.
• 7:07
Speaker 6: By the way, per the President's direction, today will be
• 7:10
Speaker 6: the largest volume of strike since day one of this operation.
• 7:13
Speaker 6: Tomorrow even more than today, and then Iran has a
• 7:17
Speaker 6: choice choose wisely, because this president does not play around.
• 7:24
Speaker 6: You can ask Solimani, you can ask Duro, you can
• 7:28
Speaker 6: ask Kimani. To those heroes who planned and executed these rescues,
• 7:33
Speaker 6: your nation stands in awe.
• 7:35
Speaker 5: I stand in all. The Chairman stands in all.
• 7:38
Speaker 6: We all stand in awe of your professionalism and bravery.
• 7:41
Speaker 5: We serve for you.
• 7:43
Speaker 6: You embody the very best of America To the rescued
• 7:46
Speaker 6: airmen and their families.
• 7:47
Speaker 5: Welcome home your courage and endurance.
• 7:51
Speaker 6: The quiet declaration of faith amid the storm inspires us
• 7:55
Speaker 6: all God is good every day.
• 8:00
Speaker 4: The President also ended by saying that yes, Iran is
• 8:03
Speaker 4: an active participant in cease fire negotiations last week.
• 8:11
Speaker 7: Last week you suggested that Europe should take the lead
• 8:13
Speaker 7: on reopening the straight up our moves. Has circumstances changed
• 8:16
Speaker 7: now that you're issuing a direct forty eight hour I
• 8:19
Speaker 7: mean forty eight hour ultimatum. And secondly, what a new
• 8:23
Speaker 7: ceasefire food Israel? And would it just be between you right here.
• 8:26
  Speaker 2: We're talking about But I.
• 8:28
Speaker 1: Can tell you that we have a active, willing participant
• 8:33
Speaker 1: on the other side.
• 8:35
Speaker 5: They would like to be able to make a deal.
• 8:36
Speaker 5: I can't say any more than that.
• 8:39
Speaker 4: One thing is for sure. The President has set a
• 8:41
Speaker 4: deadline and he's not flinching. And now the big question
• 8:45
Speaker 4: is what will a ran do next. We'll have it
• 8:47
Speaker 4: all for you that I can promise you.
• 8:49
Speaker 3: Now. Story number two, there was a.
• 8:51
Speaker 4: Part of the White House press conference with Donald Trump.
• 8:54
Speaker 4: That should stop every American in your tracks, and frankly,
• 8:58
Speaker 4: it should really make you angry. President Donald Trump shocked
• 9:03
Speaker 4: the world when revealing that while the world was watching
• 9:06
Speaker 4: the rescue of one down American pilot inside Iran, there
• 9:10
Speaker 4: was actually a second pilot still on the ground, alive,
• 9:14
Speaker 4: hiding and waiting to be brought home.
• 9:16
Speaker 2: And here's the key.
• 9:18
Speaker 4: The United States had kept that information secret on purpose.
• 9:23
Speaker 4: Why because every second mattered, because the pilot's survival depended
• 9:28
Speaker 4: on Iran not knowing that he was even there.
• 9:31
Speaker 2: But then someone leaked it.
• 9:34
Speaker 4: According to President Trump, a media report exposed the existence
• 9:38
Speaker 4: of that second pilot while the rescue mission was still unfolding,
• 9:43
Speaker 4: and just like that, the entire situation changed. Suddenly Iran new,
• 9:50
Speaker 4: Suddenly people on the ground in Iran new.
• 9:52
Speaker 2: And according to Trump, there.
• 9:54
Speaker 4: Were even reports of rewards being offered to find and
• 9:57
Speaker 4: capture that American pilot. Now think about that, an American
• 10:02
Speaker 4: literally behind enemy lines trying to survive, and a leak
• 10:07
Speaker 4: back home in America may have just told the enemy
• 10:10
Speaker 4: exactly what to look for. The President did not hold back.
• 10:15
Speaker 4: He called the person responsible for the leak sick and
• 10:19
Speaker 4: he made it clear this wasn't just irresponsible. He also
• 10:22
Speaker 4: believes that it was dangerous and says that there should
• 10:26
Speaker 4: be consequences. Here's the President in his own words.
• 10:30
Speaker 1: But these two extraordinary rescues because it was too and
• 10:34
Speaker 1: as you probably know, we didn't talk about the first.
• 10:36
Speaker 5: One for an hour.
• 10:38
Speaker 1: Then somebody leaked something, which will hopefully find that leaker.
• 10:42
Speaker 1: We're looking very hard to find that leaker and talk
• 10:45
Speaker 1: about there's somebody missing. They basically said that we have
• 10:51
Speaker 1: one and there's somebody missing. Well, they didn't know there
• 10:53
Speaker 1: was somebody missing until this leaker gave the information. So
• 10:57
Speaker 1: whoever it was, we think we'll be able to find
• 10:59
Speaker 1: it out because we're going to go to the media
• 11:02
Speaker 1: company that released it and we're going to say national security,
• 11:07
Speaker 1: give it up or go to jail. And we know
• 11:11
Speaker 1: who and you know who we're talking about, because some
• 11:14
Speaker 1: things you can do. Because when they did that, all
• 11:16
Speaker 1: of a sudden, the entire country of Iran knew that
• 11:21
Speaker 1: there was a pilot that was somewhere on their land
• 11:25
Speaker 1: that was fighting for his life. And it also made
• 11:29
Speaker 1: it much more difficult for the pilots and for the
• 11:33
Speaker 1: people going in to search for him. All of a sudden,
• 11:37
Speaker 1: they know that there's somebody out there, they see all
• 11:40
Speaker 1: these planes coming in. It became a much more difficult
• 11:42
Speaker 1: operation because a leaker leaked that we have one, we've
• 11:48
Speaker 1: rescued one, but there's another one out there that we're
• 11:52
Speaker 1: trying to get. So actually, the country Iran put out
• 11:58
Speaker 1: a major notice you all saw it, offering a very
• 12:02
Speaker 1: big award for anybody that captures the pilot. So in
• 12:06
Speaker 1: addition to a hostle very talented, very good, very evil military,
• 12:12
Speaker 1: we had millions of people trying to get an award.
• 12:17
Speaker 1: So when you add that to it, but we have
• 12:20
Speaker 1: to find that leaker, because that's a sick person. Probably
• 12:23
Speaker 1: didn't realize the extent of how bad it was. I
• 12:26
Speaker 1: can't imagine that the person did. But we're going to
• 12:29
Speaker 1: find out. It's national security and the person that did
• 12:33
Speaker 1: the story will go to jail if he doesn't say
• 12:36
Speaker 1: and that doesn't last long, and I think everybody would
• 12:39
Speaker 1: understand it. They put this mission at great risk, They
• 12:42
Speaker 1: put that man at great risk, and they put the
• 12:44
Speaker 1: hundreds of people that went in looking for him. Because
• 12:47
Speaker 1: everyone now knows that we're going.
• 12:50
Speaker 4: In the president saying exactly what needed to be said,
• 12:54
Speaker 4: there will be consequences. The administration launching this full investigation
• 12:58
Speaker 4: to find out exactly who leaked that information, and he
• 13:01
Speaker 4: wentn't even further warning the media outlet involved could be
• 13:04
Speaker 4: forced to reveal its source or face legal consequences. Now,
• 13:08
Speaker 4: if you just step back and look at the bigger picture,
• 13:10
Speaker 4: this wasn't politics, This wasn't spend. This was a real
• 13:15
Speaker 4: time military operation with American lives on the line, those
• 13:19
Speaker 4: that were trying to rescue the individual and the individual
• 13:22
Speaker 4: on the ground behind enemy lines. According to President the
• 13:26
Speaker 4: at operation was made more dangerous because someone decided to
• 13:29
Speaker 4: lead classified information in the middle of it. And in
• 13:33
Speaker 4: the end, both pilots were brought home safely, and that's
• 13:36
Speaker 4: the part we should all be grateful for. But the
• 13:38
Speaker 4: question now is simple, who leaked it? And why would
• 13:41
Speaker 4: anyone take that kind of risk with an American life, Because,
• 13:45
Speaker 4: as we learn today, the battlefield isn't just overseas. Sometimes
• 13:50
Speaker 4: the danger comes from inside our own country.
