- 0:01SPEAKER_00: Crawlers trader review, the spider nightmare is everywhere.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Hey everyone, it's Gilbert K here.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to my channel.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: Imagine waking up in the middle of the night because you feel something crawling across your face.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: You turn on the light and nothing is there.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: So you tell yourself, Gilbert, relax.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: It was probably just your imagination.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Then you look at the wall, there is one spider.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: You look at the ceiling, there are 50.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: You look under the bed, no, don't look under the bed.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Hey everyone, it's Gilbert K here.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to my channel.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Today we're talking about the official trailer for crawlers, the new 2026 horror movie directed by Angel Gomez Hernandez and starring Matilda Lotz.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: And let me warn you right now, if you're afraid of spiders, this trailer is not entertainment.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: It's an eviction notice.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Because after watching this, you may want to leave your apartment, burn your furniture, and personally question every tiny black dot on your wall.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: But is crawlers giving us a fresh horror movie?
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Or is it simply putting thousands of spiders inside the building and hoping we scream?
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Let's break down the trailer.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Paradiso Palms.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Good luck leaving.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: The story takes place inside an apartment complex called Paradiso Palms.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: That name sounds peaceful, doesn't it?
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Paradiso Palms sounds like a place with a swimming pool, free parking, and a manager who remembers your birthday.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Instead, the residents gets poisonous spiders, a police quarantine, and possibly the worst building inspection in history.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Matilda Lotz plays Serena, the overworked and underappreciated manager of the complex.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: After a mysterious death, Serena discovers that deadly spiders are spreading through the building.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: The police place the entire complex under quarantine.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Nobody can leave.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: The spiders continue to multiply, and Serena may be the only person who can save the residents because she knows the building better than anyone else.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: That is a simple setup, but it works.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: The trailer does not waste much time explaining where every spider came from, what universities studied them, or which secret company accidentally created them.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: It says, here are the spiders.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: You are locked inside.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Try not to die.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: I understand this signant.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: The trailer knows exactly what scares us, what I like most about this crawler trailer, it's and it understands why spiders make so many people uncomfortable.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: It's not only about being bitten, it's about not knowing where they are.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: A giant monster is easy to find.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: You can see it smashing buildings from several kilometers or miles away.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: A spider, a spider can disappear behind your pillow.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: That is worse.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: The trailer uses the apartment building like a giant box filled with hiding places.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: We see dark rooms, vents, hallways, furniture, ceilings, and small spaces where the danger could be waiting.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: The residents are not trapped in an empty warehouse, they are trapped inside their homes.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: That makes the idea more personal.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: The home is supposed to be the place where you feel safe.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: But in this movie, every room can turn against you.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Your shower is no longer a shower.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Your bed is no longer a bed.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Even putting on your shoes may become a dangerous decision.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: After this movie, nobody is putting on a shoe without shaking it first.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: Not once, not twice, at least seven times.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: The spiders are the stars.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: The trader gives us many different spider scares.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Some are small, some are larger, some attack quickly, and some appear when the characters and the audience least expect them.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: This is where the movie has a major advantage.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Spiders do not need a complicated introduction.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: The filmmakers do not need to spend 30 minutes convincing us that they are scary.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Many people are already uncomfortable before the trailer even begins.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: The movie simply takes that fear and turns the volume all the way up.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: The creatures also seem fast, aggressive, and very difficult to contain.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Every time the characters think they understand the problem, it appears to become worse.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: One spider becomes several, several become hundreds, and hundreds become, please give me the keys, I'm moving today.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: The trailer also appears willing to have fun with the idea.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: This does not look like a slow, deeply serious film where people sit in dark rooms discussing the meaning of spiders.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: This looks like a fast survival movie that wants the audience to jump, laugh nervously, and yell at the screen.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: And sometimes that's exactly what horror should be.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Matilda Lotz is a smart choice.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Matilda Lotz is an interesting choice for Serena because she already knows how to lead a physical and intense genre movie.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Many horror fans will recognize her from Revenge, where she played a character who went through an extreme fight for survival.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: She also led the 2025 fantasy action movie Red Sungeon.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: In Crawlers, she doesn't appear to be playing a fearless superhero.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Serena is afraid to.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: That matters because the elite character becomes more interesting when she's not magically prepared for every problem.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: She's a building manager, not a spider hunter.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Her main advantage is her knowledge of Paradiso palms.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: She knows the doors, the hallways, the rooms, and possibly the building's weaknesses.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: And possibly the building's weaknesses.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: The same job that made people overlook her could now make her the most important person inside the complex.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: I like that idea.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: The person everyone calls when the elevator stops working is now the person they call when spiders take over the building.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: That's definitely outside her job description.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: The cast also includes Greta Salkin, Melina Matthews, William Miller, and Chris Rogers.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: The trailer moves so quickly that we don't learn much about every resident.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: But it gives us enough personalities to create conflict, panic, and probably a few terrible decisions.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Because every horror movie needs at least one person who says, let's split up.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: And that person should immediately lose the right to vote.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: The director understands horror crawlers, it's directed by Spanish filmmaker Angel Gomez Hernandez, who previously made Don't Listen, also known as Votres, and The Boogeyman, The Origin of the Myth.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: His earlier work shows that he enjoys using familiar places and turning them into something frightening.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: That makes him a good match for this story.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: An apartment building gives him a controlled location, but it also gives him many ways to create tension.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Residents can be separated by different floors, elevators can stop, stairways can become blocked, power can disappear, help may be standing outside, but the quarantine prevents anyone from escaping.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: The building itself can become part of the trap.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: And there's another interesting name behind the movie.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Crawlers is the first feature from Badlands, a genre label created through a collaboration involving Scott Strauss and Thunder Roads, Basile Iwanick, and Erika Lee.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: The producers connected to the John Wick franchise.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Now I'm not expecting the spiders to wear black suits and demand gold coins.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Although I would absolutely watch that movie.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: But the producing team understands the speed, pressure, and action.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: You can feel some of that energy in this trailer.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: The characters are not simply hiding and waiting, they appear to be running, fighting back, and trying to escape while the situation keeps growing.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: What worked for me, first, I love the setting.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Keeping the characters inside one apartment complex gives the story a clear identity.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: It's familiar, contained, and easy for the audience to understand.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Second, the trailer has strong pacing.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: It begins with Mystery, introduces the quarantine, reveals the infestation, and then keeps raising the danger.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: It doesn't feel like a two-minute summary of the entire movie.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Third, Matilda Lotz looked believable as Serena.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: She brings strength to the role, but she also looks vulnerable enough for us to worry about her.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: I want to see how she goes from an exhausted building manager to the person leading everyone through this nightmare.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: And finally, the movie is not the shame of its main attraction.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: This is a spider movie.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: The trailer gives us spiders.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: A lot of spiders.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: And nobody bought a ticket to crawlers hoping for a quiet story about rent control.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: What concerns me, my biggest concern, is whether the movie can keep escalating without becoming repetitive.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: There are only so many times a spider can jump out of a dark corner before the audience starts expecting it.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: For the full movie to work, we'll need more than creature attacks.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: We need residents we care about, we need different personalities trapped together.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: We need arguments, difficult choices, and surprises that go beyond there's another spider in the room.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: The movie also needs clear rules.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: How deadly are these spiders and how quickly do they multiply?
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: Why was the building quarantined instead of evacuated?
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: And if the police know people are trapped inside with deadly spiders, why is nobody arriving with enough bug spray to create a weather system?
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: The trailer does not need to answer everything.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: That's what the movie is for.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: But the answers need to make sense.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: I hope the digital effects remain convincing during the larger scenes.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Small spiders hidden in darkness can look terrifying.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Thousands of computer-created spiders running together can sometimes start looking like a video game.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: The best approach would probably be a mix of suggesting close-up scares, practical work, and digital effects when the story needs a larger infestation.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Show me enough to scare me, but leave enough unseen to let my imagination make it worse.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: Fun facts The movie was originally developed under the title Anarchid.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: The movie was originally developed.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Fun facts.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: The movie was originally developed under the title Arknid, which is accurate but sounds like the name of a science textbook.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Crawlers feel more active and uncomfortable.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: You hear that title immediately check your neck.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: The movie was filmed in Portugal during a five-week shoot in 2024, even though the story appeals to take place in an American apartment complex.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: It was written by Jason Rothwell, whose previous credits include Polar and John Wu's Silent Night.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: And according to early reporting, the official trailer quickly passed 1 million YouTube views and reached around 20 million views across platforms.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Horror creators also began posting trailer reactions, which suggests that the film's very simple hook is connecting online.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: People may disagree about ghosts, aliens, or cursed dolls, but spiders, spiders bring people together, usually in another room.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: My final take the Crawler's trailer knows what kind of movie it is, and that confidence works in its favor.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: It has a strongly, a simple survivor story, a contained location, and one of the most common fears of the planet.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: This is not trying to invent horror, it's trying to take something small, familiar, and frightening and multiply it until nowhere feels safe.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: The movie looks tense, fast, nasty, and entertaining if it can give its human characters enough personality and avoid repeating the scene, same scare.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: The movie looks tense, fast, nasty, and entertaining if it can give its human characters enough personality and avoid repeating the same scare crawlers could become a very fun theatrical horror experience.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: It's the kind of movie where the entire audience may jump at the same time and then go home suspicious of every corner.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: The trailer does its job.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: It got my attention, it made me uncomfortable, and it reminded me that owning a flamethrower should perhaps be discussed with my insurance company.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Crawlers is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 16, 2026.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Now I want to hear from you.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Did this trailer scare you?
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Do you think crawlers could become the next great creature horror movie?
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: Or did you stop watching the moment the first spider appeared?
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: Let me know in the comments below.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: And here's my today's question: what would you rather face inside your apartment?
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: One giant spider or 1,000 tiny spiders?
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: Choose carefully.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: There's no good answer.
