- 0:00Speaker 1: Fox News alert, it is Trumpapalooza time. Night one of
- 0:03Speaker 1: the GOP midterm convention officially underway and it started with
- 0:07Speaker 1: a bang. Introducing the presidential tenor.
- 0:12Speaker 2: America!
- 0:13Speaker 1: America! Tonight, Republicans are going to put on a show.
- 0:33Speaker 1: The main event, President Trump. He'll be speaking later tonight,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and you can watch it here on Fox. But first,
- 0:39Speaker 1: Trump had his top Cabinet officials. They're warming up in
- 0:43Speaker 1: the bullpen. Treasury Secretary Scott Besson is going to hit
- 0:46Speaker 1: the stage soon, but before him... running for governor of Florida,
- 0:50Speaker 1: Byron Donalds. And later, two UFC champs are going to
- 0:53Speaker 1: do their thing. The crowd sold out, over 20,000 in attendance.
- 0:59Speaker 1: 47 gave us a little preview before boarding Air Force One.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I think we're going to have a tremendous crowd tonight,
- 1:07Speaker 2: sold out. Looks very big, looks very exciting. And we're
- 1:11Speaker 2: going to explain what we've done. We've done things that
- 1:16Speaker 2: have never been done in the first term or the
- 1:18Speaker 2: second term, frankly, of a president. The economy is very strong.
- 1:24Speaker 2: The investment in our country is the biggest in the
- 1:27Speaker 2: history of any country, not just our country. We have
- 1:31Speaker 2: factories being built all over the world right now, and
- 1:35Speaker 2: it's very exciting to see.
- 1:37Speaker 1: There was already a surprise. Democrat Senator John Fetterman just
- 1:41Speaker 1: made a stunning cameo, praising Republicans for saving the steel industry.
- 1:47Speaker 1: This is a major coup for Donald Trump. And if
- 1:49Speaker 1: Fetterman switches sides, it's going to leave the Democrat Party
- 1:53Speaker 1: in a state of shock. The Republican Party looking for
- 1:56Speaker 1: a major upset, trying to defy history. The party in
- 1:59Speaker 1: power always loses the midterms. Bill Clinton lost 54 House seats.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Obama lost 63. And in Trump's first term, he lost 41.
- 2:09Speaker 1: It's usually how it goes. It's not supposed to be close,
- 2:13Speaker 1: but this year kind of is. The generic congressional ballot
- 2:16Speaker 1: has Democrats up by about six. It's not a very
- 2:20Speaker 1: big lead and doesn't look like a wave, but anything
- 2:23Speaker 1: could happen. It's still early. Even though Republicans are down,
- 2:27Speaker 1: they still have some advantages. They won the redistricting wars
- 2:31Speaker 1: and have a new strategy and a secret weapon.
- 2:35Speaker 3: We are putting the president on the ballot, and that's
- 2:37Speaker 3: exactly what we're doing with this midterm convention. He is
- 2:39Speaker 3: committed to putting and using his name. He's the best
- 2:43Speaker 3: showman that's ever existed in the Republican Party. We're going
- 2:45Speaker 3: to use him where we can, where it's going to
- 2:47Speaker 3: be advantageous. In order to defy history, you've got to
- 2:50Speaker 3: do things a little bit differently, and that's why we're
- 2:52Speaker 3: doing this Republican convention.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Donald Trump's the most popular Republican president in U.S. history.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Insiders call him a turnout machine, saying, quote, we've seen
- 3:01Speaker 1: that a lot of Trump voters, they'll crawl over glass
- 3:04Speaker 1: to vote for the president. Even though his name's not
- 3:07Speaker 1: on the ballot, the party's going to act like it.
- 3:09Speaker 1: The House, bit of a climb, but the Senate, Republicans
- 3:12Speaker 1: can still hold on. So every vote counts. The president's
- 3:16Speaker 1: gearing up to do over 30 rallies, and he's sitting
- 3:19Speaker 1: on about a $ 400 million war chest that he just
- 3:22Speaker 1: cracked open today. $ 50 million has been wired to key
- 3:27Speaker 1: Senate races. But money can't buy you love. You've got
- 3:30Speaker 1: to be able to talk to them. So tonight, Republicans
- 3:33Speaker 1: are going to talk to the American people and tell
- 3:35Speaker 1: them what they've done. A major theme this evening, the border.
- 3:40Speaker 1: You don't really hear much about it anymore, and that's
- 3:43Speaker 1: a good thing. It's been completely sealed. Two and a
- 3:46Speaker 1: half million illegals were sent home in handcuffs or just
- 3:49Speaker 1: walked out on their own. And for the first time
- 3:52Speaker 1: in 50 years, America experienced negative immigration. Fentanyl deaths are
- 3:58Speaker 1: down and the cartels on their heels, thanks to the
- 4:02Speaker 1: War Department blowing up coke boats. And on top of that,
- 4:05Speaker 1: America's murder rate Is it an all-time low? Violent crime?
- 4:09Speaker 1: Way down, thanks to ICE and the National Guard. And
- 4:13Speaker 1: the FBI's 10 most wanted list? We took down nine
- 4:16Speaker 1: in record time. Plus, the top five fraudsters got nabbed. Tonight,
- 4:21Speaker 1: we're not going to hear from politicians. We're going to
- 4:24Speaker 1: hear from working Americans testifying about the impact of the
- 4:27Speaker 1: Trump tax cuts. Big, fat refund checks. No tax on
- 4:32Speaker 1: tips or O.T., And moms set up Trump accounts for
- 4:37Speaker 1: their little kiddos. We'll hear from factory workers about the
- 4:40Speaker 1: blue-collar wage boom. A million private sector jobs have been created.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And foreign investment pouring in at a 50% higher clip
- 4:49Speaker 1: than Joe Biden. Stock market, record high. And inflation's gotten
- 4:53Speaker 1: under control after Bidenomics pushed it up about 21% over
- 4:57Speaker 1: four years. Now, instead of leaving it to the next
- 5:01Speaker 1: president or the next, Trump decided to launch trade wars
- 5:04Speaker 1: and the Iran war, risky bets that we've won, but
- 5:08Speaker 1: the country's still dealing with some blowback. And we'll get
- 5:12Speaker 1: into more of the president's record later and tomorrow night,
- 5:15Speaker 1: but everything we just said, Republicans are confident that they
- 5:20Speaker 1: can frame that up against the Democrat record, which is lacking.
- 5:24Speaker 1: The party's done nothing in 25 years except Obamacare. but
- 5:28Speaker 1: the program went bankrupt and raised premiums. Republicans are calling
- 5:33Speaker 1: their agenda a common-sense revolution. The last administration, exact opposite.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Dylan Mulvaney was like a guest of honor at the
- 5:41Speaker 1: White House. They recognized transgenders on Easter. Sex changes for kids,
- 5:48Speaker 1: guys spiking volleyballs in girls' faces, people concerned about pronouns.
- 5:54Speaker 1: That's all over. But Democrats aren't just going to forget
- 5:57Speaker 1: they lost the culture war. So they're going to be
- 6:00Speaker 1: back and they're going to be weird. So the Republicans
- 6:03Speaker 1: are going to press that advantage tonight and show a
- 6:06Speaker 1: little patriotism. Gallup poll shows that only 27 percent of
- 6:10Speaker 1: Democrats are proud to be American. That's all the way
- 6:13Speaker 1: down from 85 percent at the start of this century.
- 6:17Speaker 1: The Democrat Party and its communist base are running against America.
- 6:21Speaker 1: They want to shatter the pillars of Western civilization. Their words,
- 6:25Speaker 1: not mine. They want to abolish the Senate, police, ICE,
- 6:29Speaker 1: and of course the border. Some of them are even
- 6:32Speaker 1: calling for reparations and rent control. Others have a little
- 6:37Speaker 1: bit of a problem with whites. And a majority of
- 6:40Speaker 1: Democrats don't prefer capitalism. It's like we're fighting the Cold
- 6:44Speaker 1: War here in our own country. Now, when you ask
- 6:47Speaker 1: Democrats what they want to do if they win, they
- 6:49Speaker 1: won't tell you. They keep it a little secret, because
- 6:52Speaker 1: if you heard it, you wouldn't vote for them. Now,
- 6:55Speaker 1: what are they really going to do? They're going to
- 6:57Speaker 1: impeach Trump again and shut down the government again. Oh,
- 7:01Speaker 1: and probably investigate every sneeze, sniffle, and hiccup. How does
- 7:06Speaker 1: that help you? No idea. But that's what they want,
- 7:11Speaker 1: and that's what they'll do. Nothing they've done has worked
- 7:14Speaker 1: in decades. Homeless, global warming, defund the police. Now they
- 7:19Speaker 1: want government-run grocery stores. And free college for everybody, including illegals,
- 7:24Speaker 1: which is crazy town. California giving free breast implants to migrants.
- 7:31Speaker 1: So if Republicans turn out, they can stop all that nonsense. Texas,
- 7:36Speaker 1: key turf. Tallarico versus Paxton, race is tight. Trump's raising
- 7:41Speaker 1: a lot of cash for Paxton, and this convention they're
- 7:44Speaker 1: hoping boosts his support. MAGA hats flying off the shelves.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I'm not a Trump supporter. I'm a Trump fanatic.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I like to attend to think that my job is
- 7:53Speaker 2: to make sure that those hats is on people's heads
- 7:56Speaker 2: when he's up there speaking.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Do hats mean votes? We have no idea. We'll find
- 8:01Speaker 1: out in 55 days.
