- 0:01SPEAKER_00: If you felt lonely, isolated, disconnected, with an empty feeling inside and just yearning for more, knowing something is missing, then this podcast is for you.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: So here's your host, Joe Mittigan.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Hello and welcome to We.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Have you ever reached a point in your life when you finally begin to understand who you really are?
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Only to discover that instead of feeling excited, you suddenly felt afraid.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Why would discovering who you really are make us feel so scared?
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: Isn't that what we've been working towards?
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: We've spent years trying to heal our emotional wounds, overcome our fears, understand our relationships, and discover the person we were created to be.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: And now, just as we begin recognizing that person, something very unexpected happens.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: We become afraid.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's because discovering who we really are also means discovering who we're no longer willing to be.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Maybe we're beginning to realize that the life we've spent years building no longer reflects the person we're becoming.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Our relationships may begin changing.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Our priorities may change.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: The things we once believed that would make us happy may long may no longer make us happy.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: And suddenly we're faced with the question we're never expected to ask.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: For much of my life, I believed that if I could just figure out who I was supposed to be, everything would finally fall into place.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: I thought discovering myself would eliminate my fears, give me more confidence, and provide the answers I spent so many years searching for.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: But something very different began happening.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: The more I healed, the more I changed, the more I changed, the more I began seeing myself and the world very differently.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: And the more I began discovering who I really was, the more I realized how much of my identity had been built around fear, my emotional wounds, my relationships, and the expectations of other people.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: I was beginning to discover someone I didn't completely recognize.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: And quite honestly, that scared me.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Because even when my old identities caused me pain, there was something comforting about being familiar with who I always believed I was.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: You know how that person thinks.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: We understand that person's fears.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: We recognize their emotional reactions, their relationships, and the way they've learned to survive in the world.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: But what happens when we begin outgrowing that person?
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: What happens when our higher power begins guiding us towards a life that requires us to become someone we've never been before?
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: I began realizing that perhaps I wasn't afraid of discovering who I really was.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Maybe, just maybe I was afraid of losing the person I'd spent my entire life believing I needed to be.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: And there's an enormous difference between those two things.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: One is the fear of discovering ourselves, the other is the fear of letting go of an identity that no longer serves us.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: What if the fear we're experiencing isn't telling us to stop?
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: What if it's simply revealing parts of our old identity that we're still afraid to release?
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: What if learning to trust our higher power means having the courage to become someone we don't completely understand yet?
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: I believe this is where emotional healing begins transforming into something much greater.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: Because healing our past is one thing.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Living, learning to live authentically as the person we're becoming is something entirely different.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: We begin making decisions that reflect our values instead of our fears.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: We begin building relationships around love rather than the need for approval.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: We begin pursuing our passion because they reflect who we are rather than who the world expects us to become.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: And perhaps most importantly, we begin understanding that we don't need to know exactly who we're becoming before we can trust the process.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: We simply need to be willing to take the next step.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Today I want to explore why discovering our authentic identity can feel so frightening, why emotional growth sometimes makes us feel less certain rather than more confident, and how learning to trust our higher power can help us to move through that fear.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: We'll explore how our emotional patterns influence our identity, why we sometimes resist the very transformation we've been praying for, and how we can begin living authentically without needing everyone around us to understand or approve.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Because maybe discovering who we really are isn't about creating an entirely new person.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's about finally having the courage to become the person we've always been beneath all of our fears.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: And maybe, just maybe, the greatest act of faith isn't knowing who we're becoming.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: It's trusting our higher power enough to continue becoming even when we're afraid.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: My name is Joe Mittig, and this is We.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: Welcome everybody.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the We podcast from around the world.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: It's a rainy night here in Atlanta, and I just want to welcome everybody.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: I'm super excited to be here, and you know, life on life's terms, they say, right?
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: And I love the whole idea of being on a spiritual path and emotional growth and one with God, and everything's wonderful.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: And like I say all the time, that's all great and wonderful.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna talk a lot about that today.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: Some of my bigger concerns about facing the world, quite honestly, from a different level of connection and communion.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: And literally, not five minutes before I'm getting ready to hit the button for to start this recording, I get a phone call from my son, Ryan.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: He says, Hey, hey, dad, um, I think you need to come downstairs.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: We got a leak.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: I'm like, What?
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: He's like, Yeah, we got a leak.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: And sure enough, I go downstairs and it is just like it's raining hard here.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: And it is just half of his clothes in his closet are wet, and something sprung a leak on my roof.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: And I look at it and I'm like, you know what, life on life's terms.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: I want everybody to understand that a spiritual path doesn't mean there's not challenge.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: Now, I will tell you, the very first thing that comes to my mind is not fear, not how we're going to handle it, not this, not none of that.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: It's, oh my gosh, another thing added to the many tasks of a given day.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: That's always my biggest challenge, quite honestly.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Single dad, business owner, podcast host, busy all the time in my silence, you know, just all of it.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: Whenever there's a new thing added, that's the initial kind of angst, if you will.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: And then I just kind of don't hold on anymore.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: I don't.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: I kind of go to the place of, well, I wonder what's next.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: And then kind of out of nowhere, I remember a good friend across the street.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: They just got their house re-roofed here recently, not long ago.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: So I'm going to call him tomorrow and he'll guide me.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: And I say all that, right?
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: Because if you're on this podcast, you're a spiritual warrior.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: You've been on a conscious path for a while.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: And, you know, we're human too.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: And there are human challenges every day we have to go through.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: And it's in those human challenges, it's the approach to the humanity of ourselves that that is really the benefit of going through the spiritual process of the whole path.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: It really is.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you, I've been in my sacred silence now for coming up on well, real close to two months.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Tomorrow to be two months.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: And for those of you that don't know, I was guided back into silence a couple months ago.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: And basically, silence for Joe is just spending time with no external stimulus.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: And where I don't have a radio on, I don't have my headphones on, any of that.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: And I encourage everybody to do that.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: For the new people, welcome.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: What I'm talking about is sacred silence.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: The way you really can hear a deeper sense of your higher power is the soft voice you're going to hear underneath all the big, crazy voices in your head.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: And the best practice to be able to start hearing and feeling and sensing that voice is to get into a routine of pursuing silence.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: So I ask all the We podcast listeners on a daily basis to start with five minutes a day.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: And doing it, what'll happen is you'll find that you'll be able to do it more and more.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: And if you hear all the crazy voices, like always, write them down, write them down, but then listen for the soft voice, the all-encouraging voice.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you, right before my my dog Zeus died, which tomorrow will be two months, my 12-year-old German shepherd had to put to sleep August the 5th.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: I was guided back into silence.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: And I will tell you, it was kind of a scary thought because I did it for seven years, literally solitude.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: And I wasn't really guided into solitude, just silence.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: Take the headphones off, Joe.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: And I will tell you, I've been doing it now consistently.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: I work puzzles.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: I'm about 5,000 pieces into a 40,000-piece puzzle.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: And I've been doing it five or six hours a day.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: And I always share my experience because I say, you know, if I can do five or six hours, anybody on this podcast can do five or six minutes.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: And it's a real powerful thing.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: The key is the consistency.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: The key is to get into a habit, a ritual of doing it.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: And the more you do it, the more you're going to be amazed at how you're going to hear and feel and sense a part of yourself that takes a quiet reality to be able to really sense.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: And it's in that quiet reality, that sense of something grander than you, you can hear it, you can feel it, you can sense it.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: The more you practice, the more you connect to it, the more you'll be able to allow that part to guide you.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: And literally, five minutes before this podcast, I'm doing all my notes and I was kind of in a strange place tonight, anyways.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: And I'm going to get into that here in a little bit.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: And then my son Ryan calls.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: So I'm kind of back from a spiritual sense of center to now life on life's terms, and water literally dripping into his bedroom.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: He's got an apartment down in my in our basement.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: So some some flashing or something came off this off our roof above, because it's right above the fireplaces in our house.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: And even though there's an angst, there's a discomfort, there's oh grass, you know, darn it, I gotta add something new, there's no fear.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: And, you know, we'll we'll get it fixed.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: And I hope it doesn't cost a lot of money.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Because to say that I had the money to replace my house, my roof, no way.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: I don't.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: If insurance doesn't replace it, I'm gonna have a wet basement because I don't have the extra money for that.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: It's not about that.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: You know, life is about handling life on life's terms.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: And I share my angst and how I can kind of go through it.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: And then as I by the time I'm back up here getting ready to start this recording, I have the memory of my neighbor, and I'm gonna I'll follow his guidance, whatever he did.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: And that's how it works when we can just stay centered.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: And I will say, I'm practiced because I don't have a lot of the other voices, and I hear you that your path sometimes can be lonely, your path can be confusing, your path can be misunderstood.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: I get that misunderstood a lot.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: My bigness tends to push people's buttons.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna talk about that here a little bit later.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: We're gonna talk about what does it mean to like discover who I really am?
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: Like, what the heck is that?
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: What does that truly mean?
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: Who I really am?
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Well, the really am is you're a spirit having a human experience, literally.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: And it's happening around the globe.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: And I want to welcome people, brand new rankings now in both Vietnam and India.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Welcome all of you.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: I am humbled that you're here.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: It just continues to reiterate for Joe that humanity, it doesn't matter where you live, it doesn't matter the color of your skin, it doesn't matter if you're man or woman.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: We are all human beings, we are all humanity, and humanity is waking up.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Waking up to what?
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: We're waking up to the feminine side of ourselves, and that's where the spiritual essence of self lives.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: The veil between humanity and divinity is getting thinner and thinner and thinner.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: And how do I know?
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: Because the We podcast and people like all of you are here listening, and the only reason you're here is because there's a part of you guided to listen and guided to be here.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: And what I'm going to ask of all of you is to keep coming back.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Thank you for coming here and supporting, but to share it with others.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: Because together we're doing something extremely unique.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: And for the countries that have been, you know, supporting and been very active, the only reason the Apple systems are now country by country by country exposing the Wii podcast to additional countries is because there's so many tens of thousands of us listening.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: And obviously it started right here in the US.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: It started right here in Georgia.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: You know, my first podcast, I think there were four people on it.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Well, now I don't know where our numbers are.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: We're going to find our numbers soon, but probably well in excess of a half a million downloads.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: And we are literally 11 months old today.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: So thank you all.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: I'm going to talk about some challenges I've been going through.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: You know, it's a wonderful thing being conscious, it is, but sometimes it can be brutal.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: The hardest part of living a conscious path for me is watching people around that they don't know that they don't know they're in destruction.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: People that you care about, people that you want to do good, you know, that you you want them to excel, you want them to just be great in life, and you see their behaviors and you just know they're gonna destruct.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: And it's so hard to watch.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: And I I know I can't fix anybody, I know I can't rescue people, I know I can't stop, I can suggest, I can help, I can support, I can love them.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: And just recently, a friend of the family is in football, my son's in baseball.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: This kid is a year older, stud.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: He was a stud all through his high school years.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: And he was raised in an environment where the whole lifting weights and the quarterback, and you didn't do it.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: And I was like, that's the craziest thing I've ever seen.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Have you seen a professional football player lately?
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Have you seen how big and strong the top athletes in the football world are?
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: And lo and behold, this this young man, which I care deeply about, him and his family, they got stuck in some system of delusion that says, oh no, you can't lift weights because you don't want to get too strong.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: And sure enough, six months ago, he gets hurt.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: Because everybody's bigger, everybody's stronger, everybody was fast as him, or faster.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: And when they catch him, they can slam him because he's not as big.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: And it's like we watched, and I my heart broke because I knew what was gonna happen.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: And did I no no?
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: No, yeah, kind of.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: And sure enough, he gets hurt and he's out, and now he's like the fifth string on a mediocre team when two years ago, three years ago, he was the absolute stud.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: And why does that break my heart?
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Because I wanted to go up to the entire family and just shake them and just say, lift weights, get bigger, get stronger, get as big as you possibly can.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: But I can't change people.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: And when you can predict based on behavior, that eventually destruction is going to be the consequence, it hurts.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: It hurts while I'm watching it, it hurts because I can't do anything about it, and then I find out just the other day, fifth string.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: And all I can imagine, I hope he comes back, I hope he makes it.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: Getting older now, he's a junior in college, had dreams of playing in the NFL, and now he's fifth string when none of it, he was a stud athlete, he was just not big enough or strong enough, and the family believed some something that you don't get you don't want to get too strong.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: And it hurts, it hurts when you can watch and when you can see.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: My son has a stud athlete on his team, and his particular father lives in the delusional ridiculousness that you beat the crap out of the kid emotionally, and that motivates him to be better.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: And I want to just scream.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: I say, now, supposedly, this this particular human, this father, was went to you know a Bible college, and so I'm believing, obviously, believes in God and all of that.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: And this isn't a religious conversation, but literally, my son, this kid is a stud.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: My son says he's one of the best athletes he's ever seen.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: And his dad hammers him, tells him he's no good, tells him he's not good enough, tells him that he's never gonna amount to anything, he has to work harder.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: And we were just at their one of their first games, and the second string kid, who's a good kid, we've known him all, hit a home run.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: The dad immediately texts this stud saying, This kid's a baller, you're finished.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: I want to walk up to the old man and punch him right in the nose.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: If you really want to know my truth, if you really want to know the truth, I want to walk up to that man and say, You miserable, miserable human.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: You're a miserable human.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Now, would I?
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: I don't know who the dad is.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: Do I know what he's doing?
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: He believes if he can just continue to pump the kid full of fear that it's gonna make him work harder.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: It doesn't.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: When the dad's at a game, the kid strikes out.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: When the dad's not at a game, the kid will hit three home runs in a game.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Why do I say it?
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: Because consciously, I have to sit and watch.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: My son has to sit and watch.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: Now I tell my son to go encourage the kid.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: You go tell the kid the truth.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: You go tell the kid you've got his back, you go encourage kid.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: We can't fix the dad.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: We can't fix.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: I could if I could talk to the kid, but I can't fix the relationship between dad and kid.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: But we can offer support, glass, full support.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Have the kids back, tell them you're good.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: You know, I encourage my son, and my son will, he'll go up.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: And we see it a lot.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: And I'm sure if you're on this podcast, you see it a lot, where you just see people around you acting in ways that is so destructive and they don't even know.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: I promise you, this man would swear on a stack of Bibles that he's doing the best thing he could for his kid because that's the way I motivate my boy.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: By beating the crap out of him with fear and destruction.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Well, sir, you're wrong.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: All you're doing is destroying a young man's confidence.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: You're destroying a young man's abilities, and you've destroyed his esteem.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: That's what you're doing, Dad.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: Literally.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: And it breaks my heart because honestly, all we can do is watch.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: And it's hard.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: It's hard.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: Conscious path has a lot of wonderful benefits, a lot of bliss, a lot of wonderment, a lot of flow, a lot of overflow.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: But it also has a lot of challenge.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: And if you're on this path and you're sitting and you know what it's like to love yourself and to love your kids and to love the people around you, and you see others that do it differently, I'm sure your hearts hurt also.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: So for those two young men, my heart hurts for them.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: It hurts for the whole family, but it hurts for these young men because they've got dreams, they've got desires.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: And I'm watching the people that are the closest to them give them advice that is glass empty advice.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: The one kid, we've already watched it.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Now he's fourth string.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: He could have been first string.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: All he had to do is start working out like everybody else did five years ago.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: And now he's fourth string, might not ever come back.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: Brutal.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: We knew it as it was happening.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: And this new kid, our prayer is always that he gets makes enough money, gets away from the dad far enough and long enough, and just gets away long enough to where maybe, maybe he can, you know, make it.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: It's tough.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: Baseball's a tough sport if you don't have mental toughness.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: I mean, where do you get that?
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: You get that from esteem and self-worth.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: Where do you get that?
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: You're supposed to get it from your parents.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: So if you're the parent out there who thinks you're motivating your child by making them wrong by fear, you're not.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: You're destroying them.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: They need to hear that they're loved.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: They need to hear that they're wonderful.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: They need to hear you've got their back.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: They need to hear it's okay to make mistakes because you're here to support them.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: That's what your children need from you.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: And if you haven't done it, start today.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Start tonight.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: Text your kids saying that you love them and you're proud of them.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: I'm not a big I love you to my boys verbally, but I text them and tell them all the time.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Their mother is a big I love you person.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: She is.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: I'm not, but I text them.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: So if you're on this podcast now, tell somebody you love them.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: And if you can't say it verbally, send them a text.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: That's the that's why we are the generation of change.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: We have the opportunity to push a button and share, and it helps, it works.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: It really, really does.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you that this whole idea of becoming who I really am, what the heck does it mean?
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: And why do we need to do it?
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Like literally.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: Well, the truth of the matter is the why is because it's not your life.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: And I remember the first time I realized because I fought everything.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: I was just looking on my Apple.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: The podcast is rated explicit again.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: And I think it's because before I say the way I used to be a God guy, I used two letters.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm not going to use those letters anymore, though, even though that's what I used to be.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: One starts with an F, and then the other letter was a U.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: And then I would put God with it.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm not going to do that anymore.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: I'm just going to say I was a non-God guy, and now I am a God guy.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: Because I don't I don't like those little things by my podcast.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: I'm not cussing, but I don't want to be labeled that way.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: But you know the bottom line?
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: I never had a choice.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: And I guarantee there's a lot of you on this podcast, you didn't have a choice.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: You are growing whether you want to or not.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: You are shifting and changing and becoming a different you all the time because it's happening spiritually in us, truly.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: And, you know, for those people that have that literally have more of a conscious approach to it, it might be a little easier.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: But the discovering who we really are, who we really are is this magnificent spiritual being with all possibility.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: That all possibility is the possibility.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: And how that's lived out in the world is through the emotional sense of overflow of love.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: And however we share that love, we then get the benefit of being who we really are.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: And who we really are is we are created in God's image.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Period.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: How do I know?
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: Because that's just how it is.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: Look, all there's all sorts of different phrases in the Bible.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: We are a spirit having a human experience.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: And that's why society is waking up differently.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: Consciousness is shifting into more of a sense of a grander sense of itself.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: I used the example of 200 years ago here in the States, owning a human, perfectly normal.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: The consciousness of the day thought nothing of it.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Well, think about how hateful and hurtful that is.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Well, today, 200 years later, the same concept of humanity, the way we see ourselves, the way we see ourselves relative to everybody else, that in which we perceive ourselves as, that's what consciousness is.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: And we are perceiving ourselves as more of a spiritual communion type of being.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: How do I know?
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: More and more people are associating themselves as a spiritual being versus religious, more spiritual versus religious.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: And does that make religion wrong?
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: Of course it doesn't.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: This isn't about right and wrong.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: This is about acknowledging people's spiritual past.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: That'd be like saying, doctor or lawyer.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: I'm a doctor.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, oh, then lawyers are bad.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: No.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Some people are doctors and some people are lawyers.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: Football, well, no.
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: If you're a baseball player, then football must be bad.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: No.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: Some people are baseball players, some people are football players.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: The exact same experience, religious-based, spiritual based.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: Now I understand there are entire cultural belief systems associated to religion that will say, do it our way, or you are absolutely without question burning in hell and you are wrong.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: Well, that isn't me.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: And that isn't what a spiritual being would say.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: It's just not.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: And I'm not saying there aren't complete religions based on that concept, because there are.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: And they basically say the motivation of doing life in a good way is the fear of burning in hell.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Do it, follow Jesus or burn in hell.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: Well, I don't want to follow Jesus because of the fear of burning in hell.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: I want to follow Jesus because Jesus said that we are all, that the Spirit is in all of us.
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: I have to go sit by my Father because he's going to put the same spirit that guided me in all of you.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: That's a paraphrase that Jesus said in his last moments before ascending.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: The spirit that guided me, meaning Jesus, my father, meaning God, is going to place it in all of you.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: All of you, in you.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: And that spirit is in you.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: That divinity is in you.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: What you call it, don't care.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: What adjective you use, don't care.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: This is always the perfect place for me to tell you.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: I am not talking about your eternal life, folks.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: Whatever your beliefs are around your eternal life, most religions talk about living in a favorable way today, because then for eternity you will live in a wonderful spot.
- 30:43SPEAKER_01: Great, fabulous.
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: I love that for you.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: And I support that a thousand percent.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: My question is, are you doing it?
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: Are you following whatever it is your being, entity is?
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: Are you following it?
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: And the question is, yes or no?
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: And if the answer is yes, then great.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: That's what I'm talking about.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: Because I don't care what you call it.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: I ask, are you following it?
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: And people say, Well, Joe, how do you follow it?
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: Well, that's what the We podcast is all about.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: So discovering who I really am is discovering the how to follow who you really are.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: And who you really are is not your ego.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: It's not your fears, it's not your anger, it's not your emotions.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: It's that isn't who you really are.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: Your ego is a made-up sense of self that separates self from its eternal sense of being.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: Your divinity is connected to all that is.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: And discovering who you really are is you are a part of the eternal us.
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: You're a part of each one of us, are an individual expression of the eternal divinity.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: And that divinity is in each of us.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: Now, in addition to divinity being in you, you have a human self and you have an inner self, the inner child.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: That's why I came up with the concept of a we, W-E.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: Human self, divine self, inner self.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: And the inner self is the emotional side of self.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: It's the emotions in us.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: And why is that an important part that can't be left out of this equation?
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: Because the more you spiritually awaken, the spiritual awakening process happens on the feminine side of yourself, and your emotions are also on the feminine side of yourself.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: So you also have to be able to embrace or at least identify the emotional part of yourself also while you're on a spiritual path.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: And for me, I wasn't pursuing a God of any kind.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: I wasn't pursuing a relationship with a power greater than myself.
- 33:03SPEAKER_01: I simply wasn't.
- 33:04SPEAKER_01: I just wanted to stop healing.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't wanted to stop hurting.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: And the way I stopped hurting was through inner child work, through the dual hand journaling and giving a voice to the darkest, deepest parts of myself.
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: And as I did that, I started to grow.
- 33:23SPEAKER_01: I started to heal.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: And the more I healed, the more I started to follow a different set of voices in my head.
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: And that's what we're going to talk about here today.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: Becoming who we really are.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: What does it mean?
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: What's the process to get there?
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: The process to get there is that you start shifting which set of voices in your head that you're being guided to take your day-to-day actions with.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: And there's different levels of consciousness from completely unconscious to conscious.
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: Unconscious is 90% of people, most people do not know they can hear their own thoughts.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: Most people don't.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: In fact, you might be one out of a hundred.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: If you're on this podcast, you can hear your own thoughts.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: You know you can hear your own thoughts.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: And that whole concept, right?
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: When you're at church, when you're in the grocery store, when you're at the Little League game, when you're at the PTA meeting, you look around the room.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: Most people sitting around you, they do not know they can hear their thoughts.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: Their action steps are basically an unconscious repeat.
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: Whatever they did on Tuesday that they do on Wednesday, whatever they do on Wednesday they do on Saturday, it's just an unconscious repeat.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: Is that bad?
- 34:43SPEAKER_01: No, this is where they are.
- 34:45SPEAKER_01: Well, you aren't that.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: You're not.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: You're a spiritual warrior.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: Because you're on a path that is causing and craving a spiritual grandness, a spiritual communion, a connection with something grander than yourself.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: And the way you create that communion in a grander way is you heal the reason you're separate from it in the first place.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: And the only reason we aren't all living and walking on water, metaphorically, is because the consciousness between where we live today and our eternal self is unconscious.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: There's just layers of stuff in the way.
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: And for me, those layers of stuff were all just based on suppressed emotion.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: That's what it was.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: How do I know that?
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: How can I be so specific about it?
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: Because as I started healing, then things started changing.
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: As I started healing deeper emotional stuff, I would become aware of something, pain in me.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: I would give a voice to the part that was painful in pain.
- 35:49SPEAKER_01: Like I would have a little kid in me, whatever age, and I would let that part talk.
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: And as I let that part talk, it felt safe.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: And as that part felt safe, it would open up.
- 36:00SPEAKER_01: And as it would open up, then it would grieve.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: So literally at 30 and 40, and I still do it now, I can have parts of me that have been the grief has been suppressed in me for 40, 50 years, 30 years sometimes.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: And you grieve it, and when those parts grieve, then there's not those crazy voices that are caused by suppressed grief.
- 36:25SPEAKER_01: 100% of all your crazy voices in your head are because of suppressed grief.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: And we're going to talk about that a little bit later, because I'm getting ready to be interviewed on global podcasts.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: And I'm going to go out there in the world and challenge the social norm.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: Wish me luck, because that's exactly what's getting ready to happen.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: And so this path, the spiritual path we're guided, and it can be challenging even when it's all happening the way you want it to.
- 36:57SPEAKER_01: But what the heck happens when a surprise happens or something that happens that you're not expecting at all, then the spiritual path can be really hard.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: It can be.
- 37:09SPEAKER_01: And I just want to empathize that.
- 37:11SPEAKER_01: I want to empathize with people that go through, you know, you're on a spiritual path, you know you're doing the right thing, you know you're in the right place, but sometimes it just doesn't freaking feel like it.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: Because people around can't acknowledge, people around can't support.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: You feel alone a lot, you feel like you're the only one a lot.
- 37:33SPEAKER_01: And I get it.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: I mean, I really get it.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: I feel that now.
- 37:37SPEAKER_01: And that's why I suggest to people all the time come back to the We Podcast and listen to different episodes, whatever you're going through, whatever voices you're hearing in your head, find those voices in some of my titles and listen to those episodes.
- 37:53SPEAKER_01: Let my voice in the episodes keep you company during your challenging times.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: And of course, get my book, joemitica.com, download my book.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: And, you know, life on life's terms, right?
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: I have been telling the people that have been creating my website, my PR people, and my PR people, they're titans in the industry, and they do it one way.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: And I've told them and I've told them, and people can hear, and sometimes they don't, they can't.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: I don't want any condition on it.
- 38:24SPEAKER_01: I want click download.
- 38:27SPEAKER_01: Well, they couldn't hear me, and we've had more challenge with getting my book out there because of the old belief of no, you gotta do it, and then someone has to put their email address, and then the email address.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: No, no email address.
- 38:46SPEAKER_01: I'm not trying to build the list first.
- 38:50SPEAKER_01: Click, click.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: Well, finally, finally, God has a way of working things out, and you know, I just have to watch.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: I can only do what I can do, and soon my website will be up.
- 39:04SPEAKER_01: You'll go to joemedigat.com.
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: You want my book?
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: Click.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: Automatic download onto your computer right then.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: Poofo.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: Then if you want to join our book club, then yeah, I'm gonna get your email address and I'm gonna send you a bunch of cool stuff, and you can get into the weak community because you want to be here.
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: And I told them and I told them and I told them I want to give the book away for free.
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: Well, we are.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: No, you're not.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: Having somebody put their email address first is not free.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: That is conditional.
- 39:38SPEAKER_01: Well, God has a way of working out.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: So soon it'll be up there.
- 39:44SPEAKER_01: And life on life's terms, right?
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: I can only do so much.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: My goal 100 million downloads of my book, each book.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: I've got three books already written.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: I've got a dozen books that once they get this whole system up, and everybody can have them for free.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 40:02SPEAKER_01: Because I they were given to me for free.
- 40:04SPEAKER_01: They're not mine.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: I channel it through me.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Now, bottom line, you want it in book form, click, click, go to Amazon, Amazon sends it to you.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: That costs money.
- 40:17SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 40:17SPEAKER_01: If I had the money I could pay for everybody to have a book, I would do it.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: I don't have the money.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: I don't know if I have enough money to do my own roof, right?
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: So if you want the book free digitally, boom, you'll have it immediately.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: If you want it in book form, like it me, you're gonna spend 15 bucks like everybody else does.
- 40:35SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 40:35SPEAKER_01: Because that's just how it works.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: And like I said to my people, I want to give away a hundred thousand books and maybe sell a thousand.
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: I don't care.
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: I want people to have the book.
- 40:47SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: Because that's what God asked me to do, and that's what I'm doing.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you just on this path, I really thought I was going to be doing what I'm doing now 30 years ago.
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: But my path led a different way.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: So I really believed 30 years ago I was discovering who I was.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: Well, I did.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: But who I was in that moment in time was not author speaker, go out on the road and become, you know, follow in the footsteps of Tony Robbins.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: My path was about go build a business, go get a find a wife, have two great kids, blah, blah, blah.
- 41:24SPEAKER_01: We're gonna talk about that.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: Because sometimes we really think that we know, but we don't really know.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: It's not our life.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: It unfolds in a way to where there's a God and it's not us.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: And as we can really sit back and watch, it gets easier.
- 41:42SPEAKER_01: Now, did I want my roof to leak today?
- 41:45SPEAKER_01: Right before I'm on this podcast?
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: No, I didn't.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Is my roof still leaking as we're speaking?
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: Yes, it is.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: Do I have major concerns about it?
- 41:54SPEAKER_01: Nope.
- 41:55SPEAKER_01: Do I know it'll get handled over time?
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 41:58SPEAKER_01: Is there going to be a lot of work?
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 42:00SPEAKER_01: Will it get figured out?
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: Sure it will.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: That's the benefit.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: It doesn't mean I don't have a leaky roof.
- 42:07SPEAKER_01: It means that I don't have to stress out, I don't have to be fearful, I don't have to, you know, have a hard night, I don't have to not sleep.
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: Because I've surrendered enough.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: The voices are gone in my head 99% of the time, and life on life's terms.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: So the unfolding process, why fear?
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: Why is there fear?
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: And I will never forget how freaking confusing that was for me.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: Because I would say, I'm doing it all right.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: Now, in my world, every person I got close to just left, literally.
- 42:47SPEAKER_01: Anybody that I had an attraction to would choose somebody else.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: And we're talking for a long time.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: And even my past wife just left after 10 years.
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: I tend to outgrow people, and I tend to, I'm just strong.
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: So my past wife is a different topic, but in the past, previous to that, right?
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: My path was never simple.
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: It was never like, oh, well, you get to choose, Joe.
- 43:14SPEAKER_01: Let's kind of nurture ourselves along the way, and we'll kind of see how it unfolds.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: Absolutely zero.
- 43:19SPEAKER_01: Things that just get yanked out of my life, something I wanted, something I needed, something that was important to me.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: The house that I was living in would get sold out from underneath me.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: The job I had, the whole company would go bankrupt.
- 43:31SPEAKER_01: The girl I was really attracted to chose somebody else.
- 43:35SPEAKER_01: And it would just yank out like massive, just kept throwing me deeper and deeper and deeper into pain.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: And I say that because a lot of you know what that feels like.
- 43:46SPEAKER_01: You do.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: You're on a great place, you think everything's great, your bank account's growing, and things are going great, and your company shuts down.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: Or everything's going great.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: And life is happening well, and your kid goes to a party and accidentally takes drugs, and now he's hooked to heroin.
- 44:10SPEAKER_01: That's a real life thing.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: I could go on and on.
- 44:13SPEAKER_01: Well, that's life on life's terms.
- 44:15SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: So the unfolding of our path is hard enough when we're doing it in a gentle way, when we're doing it how we want it to do, let alone when we have these massive life experiences that just that things get ripped away, which makes it really hard.
- 44:34SPEAKER_01: But for the normal emotional growth, what does it mean?
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: Kind of the original phase of it all is going from unconscious to conscious.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: Unconscious is when you can't hear your thoughts, you don't even know that you don't even know.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: And then over time you can hear your thoughts.
- 44:51SPEAKER_01: And that's it, that's probably the single largest display of difference in the conscious path, going from not knowing to knowing.
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: And I'll never forget it.
- 45:04SPEAKER_01: In the beginning, that was a very bizarre thing because once I was became consciously aware that I could hear my own thoughts, that's when I, it's like then I could hear them all the time.
- 45:17SPEAKER_01: And then it got very almost disruptive because I couldn't control them and they were so crazy, and there were so many of them.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: And in mine, they were always so hurtful and hateful and shameful and blaming and criticizing.
- 45:30SPEAKER_01: And I could hear it more and more.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: Now I didn't associate criticizing other people as a wound for a long time.
- 45:40SPEAKER_01: I didn't.
- 46:33SPEAKER_01: Fear.
- 46:34SPEAKER_01: Because I thought, oh my God, that can't be good.
- 46:37SPEAKER_01: Those voices are huge.
- 46:39SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of them.
- 46:40SPEAKER_01: I must be riddled with pain.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: Well, I was.
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: And that was really the first time I can say that I felt fear because the growth now was I have to take responsibility for my voices.
- 46:57SPEAKER_01: I can't just continue to randomly blame everybody else for my stuff.
- 47:01SPEAKER_01: I have to take responsibility for it.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: And that was hard, it wasn't easy, it was scary, literally.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: So, in the opening where I said, you know, I'm I'm growing, that's a huge growth when you go from no responsibility of your voices to full responsibility.
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: Well, that should feel empowering and confidence.
- 47:20SPEAKER_01: Look at me, I'm taking responsibility.
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: Nada.
- 47:23SPEAKER_01: I felt terror.
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 47:25SPEAKER_01: Because there were so many of them.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: And I didn't know what the heck I was going to do with all that.
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: I didn't.
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: And needless to say, the next seven years, I dealt with a bunch of that.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: But that was a very scary time.
- 47:37SPEAKER_01: You know, as we live life and things kind of shift and things kind of change.
- 47:41SPEAKER_01: I went from a drinker to a non-drinker.
- 47:44SPEAKER_01: And my compulsions for my addiction, my powerlessness to drugs and alcohol were removed in a burning bush moment, February the 20th, 1994.
- 47:57SPEAKER_01: And in the beginning, it was kind of cool.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: I thought it would be a lot harder than it was.
- 48:02SPEAKER_01: And now they had me that day.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: I don't know what I'd have done if God went and removed them.
- 48:06SPEAKER_01: I'd have just I would have used and drank drugs right there that day.
- 48:10SPEAKER_01: But for those next 30, 40, 50 days, life was pretty simple.
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: It was.
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: I went 40, 50 days, didn't even think about it.
- 48:18SPEAKER_01: It was like no big deal.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: Pretty easy.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: So on the 54th day, powerless again, April the 15th, have memories of being sexually abused.
- 48:28SPEAKER_01: My sobriety date is April the 16th.
- 48:31SPEAKER_01: And in that moment, I knew my life would never be the same.
- 48:36SPEAKER_01: Literally, never be the same.
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: And it wasn't.
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: Fear, terror.
- 48:44SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: Because I just knew it was time I had to do something different.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: So a big position of growth, consciously growth, but was I empowered and confident and strong?
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: No, I was terrified.
- 49:00SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 49:01SPEAKER_01: Because I didn't have any idea what that meant.
- 49:04SPEAKER_01: And I just kept moving forward.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: That's why I say to people all the time, make sure you have help, make sure you have support.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: Because if you're on a path to really go deeper into the depths of stuff, if you have memories of like real severe abuse since a kid, don't be afraid of the abuse, folks.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: Don't you can heal it.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: If I can, you can.
- 49:30SPEAKER_01: That's for sure.
- 49:33SPEAKER_01: And all I can say is, is it easy?
- 49:37SPEAKER_01: No.
- 49:38SPEAKER_01: It doesn't hurt.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 49:40SPEAKER_01: Does it hurt more than if you hit your hand with a with if you hit your finger with a hammer?
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: No.
- 49:45SPEAKER_01: It doesn't hurt like that.
- 49:46SPEAKER_01: It doesn't.
- 49:47SPEAKER_01: It's just pain.
- 49:48SPEAKER_01: It's loss.
- 49:50SPEAKER_01: It's angst.
- 49:51SPEAKER_01: Do you get over it quickly?
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: Yes, you do.
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: So I want you to hear me.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: If you're on this podcast right now and you know there are there is really intense pain and abuse of your past that you haven't dealt with, please get help.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: Hang up right now.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: Click this thing off now and call somebody.
- 50:14SPEAKER_01: 1-800 call somebody.
- 50:16SPEAKER_01: There is so much help out there.
- 50:18SPEAKER_01: There's so many societies out there, so many groups, so many 12-step social groups.
- 50:24SPEAKER_01: If you're a woman and you've had trauma before, there are millions of other women that have done it and they will hold your hand and your head as you go through it.
- 50:36SPEAKER_01: I want you to hear me.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: If I can, you can.
- 50:41SPEAKER_01: I did it, and I did it all alone, in absolute solitude.
- 50:48SPEAKER_01: I don't suggest that.
- 50:50SPEAKER_01: We are the generation of change, folks.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: But what I'm telling you is if I can heal the pain of my sexual abuse, you can heal the pain of any abuse you went through.
- 51:01SPEAKER_01: Because all this is suppressed emotion.
- 51:03SPEAKER_01: It's the crazy voices in your head that make it 10 times worse than the actual pain we'll feel when you emote it.
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: And anytime you hear the voices, whatever those voices are, oh, and the voices are going to sound like this, and this is all part of the mental side.
- 51:20SPEAKER_01: Why are we afraid every time we emotionally grow?
- 51:25SPEAKER_01: Are we in the process of becoming a grander us, in the process of truly remembering who I really am?
- 51:33SPEAKER_01: The who I really am is a grander am.
- 51:36SPEAKER_01: Why is there fear?
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: Is there emotional fear?
- 51:39SPEAKER_01: No, not no.
- 51:41SPEAKER_01: It's the voices in your head.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: It's the voices that say, oh no, you can't do that.
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: Oh no, you can't feel that.
- 51:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's too scary.
- 51:48SPEAKER_01: Oh no, that's going to hurt too much.
- 51:50SPEAKER_01: Oh no, don't you know you're not good enough to feel that?
- 51:53SPEAKER_01: It's the voices in your own head that will persecute you.
- 51:58SPEAKER_01: They will.
- 51:59SPEAKER_01: Where does 98% of the fear come from with emotional growth and spiritual awakening?
- 52:05SPEAKER_01: Are the voices in our head?
- 52:07SPEAKER_01: And those voices are our ego that want to try to keep you small.
- 52:13SPEAKER_01: They're trying to keep you small.
- 52:15SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 52:16SPEAKER_01: Because every time you transcend the voices of your yesterday and become a grander you, then those voices have to go through a psychic death.
- 52:25SPEAKER_01: And those parts don't want to die.
- 52:27SPEAKER_01: They want to dominate, they want to control, they want to be in control of you.
- 52:31SPEAKER_01: So where does the fear come from?
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: Typically, the fear isn't about the emotional growth.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: It's certainly not about the spiritual awakening.
- 52:40SPEAKER_01: It's from the voices in your head.
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: So every time you have a new awareness that you can tell something is shifting, something is growing, something needs to change.
- 52:52SPEAKER_01: Make sure you are writing down the glass empty voices you're hearing in your head.
- 52:58SPEAKER_01: Because those are false flags.
- 53:01SPEAKER_01: They're false.
- 53:04SPEAKER_01: It's stuff made up.
- 53:06SPEAKER_01: And it's not the truth.
- 53:08SPEAKER_01: It's made up.
- 53:09SPEAKER_01: And as you write them down, bullet point, I can't.
- 53:13SPEAKER_01: I'm not good enough.
- 53:14SPEAKER_01: It's too scary.
- 53:15SPEAKER_01: It's too painful.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: I can never feel that.
- 53:17SPEAKER_01: I can never heal that.
- 53:18SPEAKER_01: No one ever heals that.
- 53:19SPEAKER_01: Ever on and on and on and on.
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: I had thousands of them, literally hundreds of them.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: Get my book, please, folks, filling the void, joimitica.com.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: Click, click.
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: Finally, click, click.
- 53:34SPEAKER_01: Um, because I go through the whole process and then join the book clubs.
- 53:39SPEAKER_01: We've got book clubs where people are going to be able to do this process with each other, you know, globally around the world.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: And we're going to talk about the global expansion here in a little bit because it is pushing my buttons in a big way.
- 53:52SPEAKER_01: I'm not kidding.
- 53:53SPEAKER_01: It's causing me to expand in a way they didn't even know I had to, but I do, and I am.
- 54:00SPEAKER_01: So write down the fear-based voices, folks.
- 54:03SPEAKER_01: Write them down because the voices in your head are, if we don't write them down, they're the only voice.
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: And you're not practiced enough yet to hear the small, encouraging voice yet.
- 54:14SPEAKER_01: So if all you hear is I can't, and I'm not good enough, and I'm a loser, and I'm this, that, and the other thing, then it's the only thing you have to believe.
- 54:22SPEAKER_01: No wonder you're afraid.
- 54:23SPEAKER_01: Because if the only thing you're hearing is glass empty voices, it's impossible not to be fearful.
- 54:30SPEAKER_01: And write them down.
- 54:33SPEAKER_01: And any emotional fear, literal, I'm feeling literal emotional fear.
- 54:40SPEAKER_01: I honor that fear.
- 54:42SPEAKER_01: But just because you feel fear does not give you permission not to move forward.
- 54:46SPEAKER_01: Fear is not a stop sign.
- 54:50SPEAKER_01: Fear is a red flag that says, I'm feeling fear.
- 54:54SPEAKER_01: I need to ask my divinity for strength and courage.
- 54:59SPEAKER_01: Emotional fear is not a stop sign.
- 55:03SPEAKER_01: Emotional fear does not give you permission to stop.
- 55:08SPEAKER_01: No.
- 55:09SPEAKER_01: A lot of people say, Well, I have to heal the fear before I can move forward.
- 55:13SPEAKER_01: Falsehood.
- 55:15SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you, you can continue to move forward, fear in tow.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: Fear and move forward at the same time.
- 55:23SPEAKER_01: You can ask for strength and courage from your divinity.
- 55:26SPEAKER_01: And the divinity is the part that you're working to become grander with, become who you really are with, in communion with.
- 55:34SPEAKER_01: And that divinity in you will give you the courage and the strength to keep moving forward, to keep growing, to keep shifting, to keep emoting, to keep hearing the voices, to keep having the courage to write the voices down, let alone the humility to tell those crazy voices to somebody else.
- 55:50SPEAKER_01: That's the hardest part.
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: Telling the voices to somebody else because it's embarrassing.
- 55:56SPEAKER_01: Those voices are embarrassing, they are.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: And that's great.
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 56:01SPEAKER_01: Because humility and fear cannot live in the same spot.
- 56:04SPEAKER_01: When it feels so uncomfortable to tell those voices, that's humility.
- 56:08SPEAKER_01: And when you're in a humble place, fear is not present.
- 56:12SPEAKER_01: Get those voices out of the way.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: You're going to feel some emotion, ask for strength and courage, and keep moving forward.
- 56:18SPEAKER_01: What does moving forward look like?
- 56:20SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 56:20SPEAKER_01: Taking action steps maybe in a new job, taking action steps and maybe getting rid of an unhealthy relationship, taking action steps of going back to school, taking action steps of doing something.
- 56:30SPEAKER_01: I don't know what your action steps are.
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: A lot of times it's taking action steps to find therapy, to go deeper, to heal more.
- 56:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sometimes.
- 56:39SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: But I can promise you, the more you keep moving forward and the more you keep asking for strength and courage, that's where for me, I kept asking, asking, asking.
- 56:50SPEAKER_01: And then eventually I realized, man, I when I actually have this God thing in my life, life's easier.
- 57:00SPEAKER_01: The emotional part of the process is hard, but I'm able to accomplish it anyway.
- 57:05SPEAKER_01: That's where I went from a non-God guy to a God guy.
- 57:09SPEAKER_01: I didn't have any more belief.
- 57:11SPEAKER_01: I always believed there was a God.
- 57:12SPEAKER_01: Always.
- 57:13SPEAKER_01: But before, when I was in so much pain, I said there's no way there could be a God if I'm in that much pain.
- 57:17SPEAKER_01: That's why I had so many adjectives, ugly adjectives associated with God.
- 57:22SPEAKER_01: But I was a non-God guy because I didn't have a relationship.
- 57:27SPEAKER_01: Well, in the beginning, the only relationship I had was me asking all the time, give me strength and courage.
- 57:33SPEAKER_01: I would say, dear God, give me the strength and courage to feel what I need to heal.
- 57:38SPEAKER_01: Strength and courage to feel what I need to heal.
- 57:41SPEAKER_01: I'd say that 400 times a day.
- 57:43SPEAKER_01: And of course, I was in an intense place in my path.
- 57:46SPEAKER_01: I really was.
- 57:48SPEAKER_01: For most of you, that's not really how it is.
- 57:50SPEAKER_01: You know, you're going through a challenging time, you know, like right now.
- 57:53SPEAKER_01: I got to get a new roof on my house.
- 57:55SPEAKER_01: That's not going to be easy.
- 57:56SPEAKER_01: You know, I'll ask for the strength and courage.
- 57:58SPEAKER_01: I'll ask for the guidance.
- 58:00SPEAKER_01: You got life on life's terms.
- 58:02SPEAKER_01: Quite honestly, it's harder for me emotionally watching a young athlete get hammered by his own father than spending what after spent on a new roof.
- 58:12SPEAKER_01: It's harder for me emotionally watching humans destroy each other.
- 58:18SPEAKER_01: It's hard.
- 58:19SPEAKER_01: It breaks my heart.
- 58:20SPEAKER_01: It really does.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: And I'm sure it does yours too.
- 58:24SPEAKER_01: You know, if you're here, you know what I'm talking about.
- 58:27SPEAKER_01: You do.
- 58:28SPEAKER_01: And this whole idea of the more we move into and we create that sense of a God of our understanding, right?
- 58:39SPEAKER_01: The more we start literally living as that part.
- 58:44SPEAKER_01: And eventually the emotional part becomes kind of the afterfact, if you will.
- 58:54SPEAKER_01: I was on an emotional growth process forever.
- 58:58SPEAKER_01: There was never a me giving back truly.
- 59:02SPEAKER_01: Now I sponsored people, I supported people, I've sponsored and helped people for 35 years.
- 59:07SPEAKER_01: I still do that now.
- 59:09SPEAKER_01: But the real idea of living it, like living who I'm truly meant to be.
- 59:18SPEAKER_01: And I can tell you, some of my most uncomfortable thoughts in the beginning were with this whole God thing, because I was such a non-God guy, at least in my own mind, not that anybody else cared.
- 59:35SPEAKER_01: I'm going to have people on here over time that share their experience, strength, and hope.
- 59:39SPEAKER_01: You know, when I got sober, I basically disappeared for seven years.
- 59:43SPEAKER_01: All my drunk and drug addict friends, I'd never talk to them again.
- 59:46SPEAKER_01: They went on their way.
- 59:48SPEAKER_01: I went on my way.
- 59:49SPEAKER_01: Besides my family, no one even knew I was missing.
- 59:52SPEAKER_01: And I have a deep empathy.
- 59:54SPEAKER_01: There's some very well-known, famous people that millions and millions and millions of people know that went through the process of getting sober while in the eye of the public.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_01: I can hardly wait to hear their stories.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_01: Because I think to myself, they actually had people that loved them.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_01: They actually had people that cared about them.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_01: They actually had family and fans and workers and coworkers and productions.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_01: Some of these are movie stars and athletes and musicians and family people that when they were removed, people actually missed them.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: When I was removed, nothing changed.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_01: The world just kept going.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_01: I was in solitude in the world, no one cared.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_01: So I can hardly wait to hear the challenge of people that when they were removed out of their lives, their kids missed them, their wives missed them, their husbands missed them, their co-workers, people that worked for them.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_01: I can hardly wait to hear how they dealt with that.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_01: Because that wasn't me, that's for sure.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_01: So, but as I started coming out the other side, and now more what I've been living these past, you know, five or six years, literally, but when I wrote my books, I never wrote the book.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_01: That's why I always say it's not mine.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_01: And in the very beginning, the whole idea of telling the world that I channeled the book, that God channeled the book through me, that was a very uncomfortable thought.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_01: Very uncomfortable.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_01: I thought, who the heck are you, Joe?
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_01: You low life nobody, that nobody cares if you're alive or dead.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_01: Nobody.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_01: My mother, and she didn't talk to me for nine months after she read my book.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_01: She called me a liar.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_01: And it's funny.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_01: I write my book, my therapist, never talk to me again.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: Called me a thief.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_01: She called me a thief.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_01: Filling the void.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_01: Originally it was called the inner child has rights too.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_01: Everything in there, the inner all the inner child work and all that came, was taught by one man, John Bradshaw.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_01: Everything that my old sponsor, Nancy, knew, she learned from John Bradshaw and others like her.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_01: She read my book, she called me a thief.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_01: She told, she said that I stole her work.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_01: I'm thinking to myself, how can I steal your work when I'm telling my story?
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_01: Filling the void is Joe's story.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_01: She never talked to me again.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_01: Ever.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_01: Never did.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_01: She died, never, never talked to her again.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_01: My mother read it, same two weeks.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_01: My therapist at the time called me a thief.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_01: My mother called me a liar.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_01: Joe, your book's full of lies, and you know it.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_01: I'm like, wow, mom, great.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_01: Hope you have a good Tuesday afternoon.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_01: That was a very challenging time for me emotionally.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_01: Was I fearful then?
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_01: Kind of.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_01: But what did it force me to do?
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_01: It forced me to really rely even more on a higher power.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_01: It's because both those very important women got very aggressively blaming me for their stuff.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_01: That then they both left my life for a long time.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_01: Nancy, forever, my mother for nine months, that I turned to a higher power even more.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_01: Back then, when I was in solitude, besides those two women, I talked to nobody.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_01: So for a long period of time, I literally spoke to nobody, me and my higher power.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_01: And many years came back, got in the world, got you know, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_01: And now fast forward to now.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_01: So some of those most uncomfortable experiences as I'm becoming who I really am.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_01: And who am I?
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_01: Like who am the real Joe, the highest version of Joe?
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_01: Well, the highest version of Joe is somebody who's going to speak my truth, is somebody who's going to tell the world that God's inside.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_01: Is somebody that his heart breaks for a kid I don't even know because his dad thinks he's helping him, but he's not.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_01: He's destroying a good kid.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_01: That's the real Joe.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_01: So I go through the highs and the lows.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_01: I can literally be sitting there in silence and feel like the presence of God is in every essence of me.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_01: Me and a power greater than myself, completely one most of the time.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_01: And the more I do that, the grander that sensation is, the deeper the pain feels when I see the world around me hurting itself.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_01: And there's nothing I can do except watch.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_01: And I know each person, because I know each person is on a spiritual path, I know each person has their own God of their understanding.
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_01: So it's not about that.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_01: I know they're on spiritual paths, but just because they're on spiritual paths doesn't mean I don't have an emotional consequence.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_01: Our family friend, who's fourth string now, because he didn't work out three years ago, four years ago, like everybody else did.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_01: He just didn't because of some random ass belief.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_01: Quarterbacks don't have to be big and strong.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_01: And now his dreams are almost dead.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_01: I we knew it was going to happen four years ago, and he's living it now.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_01: Heartbreaking for me.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_01: And same time, I can be emotionally heartbroken.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_01: I can I can know they have a God, I can know they're on a spiritual path, I can feel the presence of God in myself.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_01: And that whole concept of oneness and starting the We podcast.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_01: Basically, in the We podcast, what I do on a daily basis here is I just share my experience, strength, and hope.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_01: I shared how it happened for me.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_01: And the way it happened for me, my communion with a power greater than myself is very different than the social norms.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_01: That positive affirmations heal a thing.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_01: Don't believe it.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_01: Because the voices in your head aren't from your head, they're from a hurt in your heart.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_01: Heal your heart, voices go away.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_01: How do I know?
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_01: Because that's what happened for me.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_01: I don't have voices in my head anymore because I healed my heart.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_01: We're one with a power greater than ourselves.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_01: The divinity is us.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_01: How do I know?
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_01: A last thing Jesus said, Father's going to put the spirit that guided me in all of you.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm guided by that spirit.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_01: The same spirit in me is in all of you.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_01: And now the We podcast is happening.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_01: It's growing in such a way that Apple puts the We Podcast through different types of scrutinies because the explosion of growth around a guy with no big, big background, no media support, the woman who published it, Wendy, she's got her types of support.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_01: But the Apple Podcast system, because all of you are coming here at such massive rates, that country at a time, Apple keeps exposing.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_01: And every time Apple exposes a new country to the Wii podcast, it goes to the top rankings of that country.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_01: And every time that happens, in my silence and in my solitude now, my heart explodes.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, it's just, it's I don't know how to explain it.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_01: It's like I'm having to expand myself every time a new country comes on and is listening.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_01: And what happened this past week with Vietnam?
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_01: Vietnam was like not even on, I didn't even know people were listening in Vietnam.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_01: I don't get my numbers that much.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_01: Then I've got this thing that tells me where the We podcast is ranked, and the We podcast is ranked number one in the how to in Vietnam out of nowhere.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, I about fell over.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_01: I think it's number two today, four or five days later, which means people in Vietnam, which means the Apple system, because of all the rest of us, there's just enough people that Apple just keeps expanding the Wii message to country at a time.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_01: Well, before Vietnam, it happened in India.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_01: India wasn't even, I didn't even know.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_01: India is one of the largest groups of podcast listeners on the planet.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_01: Somebody said like 179 million listeners in India.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_01: The Wii Podcast ranked in the top 10 in India.
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_01: And I say that because that just means a lot of people in India were exposed to the Wii Podcast.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_01: And it isn't the exposure, it's when people click and listen and listen all the way through.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_01: And the way it gets ranked is not just by the number of people exposed and click, it's by the number of people that are exposed and then click and then listen to multiple multiple episodes.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_01: So part of the spiritual growth I'm going through personally right now, as I'm sitting here, is the humility and just I'm humbled.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_01: And it's like literally, every time a new country comes on, I imagine the divinity in me speaking with a whole new country of people and the divinity in that country.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_01: And I don't really know how to explain it other than that way.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_01: But I've been in a lot of grief, a lot of psychic death, a lot of humility, a lot of truly understanding this has nothing to do with the man, and everything to do with the message.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_01: And that expansion continues to happen.
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_01: And I say it like that because everybody listening is identical to me and grander, all of you, wherever you are, everything I'm saying here that you keep listening to and you're acknowledging as truth in you, you wouldn't be here if what I was saying didn't feel right for you.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_01: The one kid, that that person, whoever it was, snores, snore, yeah, grandpa self-help heard it all before.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_01: I laugh every time I see that.
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_01: And it's interesting because the rankings are so high.
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_01: And what rankings mean to green mean to Joe, the only thing they mean to me is that people are connecting to the message.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_01: And it every time another country comes in, it just continues to expand in me.
- 1:10:48SPEAKER_01: The grander sense of humanity is waking up.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_01: And I say it all the time, but I have a deeper and deeper, true, literal, factual understanding of it every time a new country comes on.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_01: So welcome everybody here from India.
- 1:11:07SPEAKER_01: Welcome, everybody here from Vietnam, Canada, United Kingdom, Norway, Kenya, Malaysia, South Korea, China, Germany, Oman, Taiwan.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_01: And the list goes on and on.
- 1:11:24SPEAKER_01: And those are just the countries that the Wii podcast is ranked in the top hundred.
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_01: I don't even know all the other countries yet.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_01: And why do I keep saying it?
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_01: Because we, as humanity, are waking up.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_01: And everything you're hearing here that you're connecting with, you can share with the people in your community.
- 1:11:44SPEAKER_01: You can share with the people in your household.
- 1:11:48SPEAKER_01: You can be the mom who tells their son they're proud of them.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_01: You can be the dad who tells somebody else's kid, hey, your dad's doing the best he can, but I'm sure he's proud of you.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_01: But I know I'm proud of you.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_01: If I have a chance to talk to this kid on my boys' team, I'll walk right up to him and say, son, I am proud of you.
- 1:12:08SPEAKER_01: I hear you're one of the best players in the country.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_01: I can't heal his relationship with his father, but I can give him an overflow that gives him the possibility of another voice in his head.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_01: And so can you.
- 1:12:24SPEAKER_01: You can tell somebody you're proud of them.
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_01: You can tell somebody you're there for them.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_01: You can mirror back when somebody's in pain.
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_01: If you're a 20-year 12-stepper, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_01: My ability, since I've been on this path so long, I can support people in the deepest and darkest sense of their pain.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_01: I shared the story of my friends out of Connecticut, which they're both doing good.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_01: When I shared with this person, he was in demon land.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_01: And in his world, you know, Christian guy, he just knew the devil had taken him over.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_01: And I said straight up, hey, listen, John, which is not John, that's not the devil, dude.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_01: That's you.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_01: Those voices are yours.
- 1:13:09SPEAKER_01: Stop placating, acting like those are something else.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_01: That isn't no devil.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_01: Those voices are yours.
- 1:13:17SPEAKER_01: Your self-hate voices, John.
- 1:13:19SPEAKER_01: Those are yours.
- 1:13:21SPEAKER_01: And you better pray like a warrior.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_01: And he did.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_01: And he made it.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_01: He basically was going through alcohol withdrawal.
- 1:13:29SPEAKER_01: That's what he was.
- 1:13:30SPEAKER_01: His wife stayed on a couch.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_01: She graved her stuff.
- 1:13:34SPEAKER_01: He made it.
- 1:13:35SPEAKER_01: He got enough pain, he reached out.
- 1:13:37SPEAKER_01: He got enough pain that his humility finally kicked in.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_01: Reached out to a sponsor.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_01: And as far as I know, he's in a program now.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_01: So because of my practice, I can support people like that.
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_01: Everybody on this podcast, everybody here has the ability to tell somebody you care about them, to tell somebody you're proud of them, to tell somebody you love them.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_01: Everybody on this podcast has the ability to continue to grow into the grander you, even though you have fears.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_01: Of course you have fears.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_01: It's called being human.
- 1:14:16SPEAKER_01: Now I will tell you, did I have fears about any of this podcast thing?
- 1:14:21SPEAKER_01: No, I didn't.
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_01: Because I didn't know anything about it.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_01: That's why I like poking fun at myself.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_01: I'm like, what the heck?
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_01: If I can do it, anybody can do it.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_01: I just found out what a Spotify was not long ago.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_01: And now I'm like, the We podcast is was ranked number one in the trending podcast on Spotify.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_01: I didn't even know what a Spotify was 60 days ago, literally.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_01: Well, people on Spotify now know what the Wii Podcast is.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 1:14:47SPEAKER_01: Because we're all the same and we're all waking up, and humanity is waking up.
- 1:14:51SPEAKER_01: We're doing this all together, literally.
- 1:14:54SPEAKER_01: And as it happens, we are all asked to become a grander us, however, that looks.
- 1:15:04SPEAKER_01: And is there going to be fear?
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_01: Ask for strength and courage.
- 1:15:09SPEAKER_01: Are you going to hear all the voices that say you can't?
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_01: Write the voices down.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_01: Voices in your head are not emotions, those are projected belief systems of your yesterday.
- 1:15:21SPEAKER_01: And please understand, the grander you become today does not mean you automatically have the availability to predict your tomorrow to be grander than your today.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_01: Hear what I just said.
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_01: Even though you're becoming grander as you're speaking, every time you listen to the podcast like this, you're expanding and you're becoming grander.
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_01: But just because you're becoming grander right now in this now moment, it does not mean you have the availability to predict your tomorrow to be grander.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_01: In fact, most of you are going to predict your tomorrow to be less than.
- 1:16:04SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 1:16:04SPEAKER_01: Because your entire life, your glass empty voices have been your guidance system.
- 1:16:09SPEAKER_01: And when you're being guided by your glass empty voices, your glass empty voices predict today to be bad and tomorrow to be worse.
- 1:16:17SPEAKER_01: Period.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_01: Today not to be good and tomorrow to be even worse.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_01: Period.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_01: Metaphorically, in some way, somehow.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_01: Well, as you learn how to not be guided by those glass empty voices because we're all practicing silence and we're hearing a different voice, and we're learning how to be guided by our glass full voices because we're writing down the other voices, and we're truly becoming who we really are, to truly live as we really are.
- 1:16:47SPEAKER_01: You want to be guided by that soft, gentle voice, and let that voice, which is going to be an all-inclusive voice, guide you.
- 1:16:54SPEAKER_01: And you can be perfectly guided and expanding into a glassful you in this now moment and still hear the voices, your glass empty voices predicting your tomorrow to be less.
- 1:17:07SPEAKER_01: It's normal.
- 1:17:08SPEAKER_01: Write those voices down and take action, anyways, whatever your action is.
- 1:17:14SPEAKER_01: And your action might be you might live in a village, and there might be a kid who doesn't have a house, and you figure out a way to get that kid some shoes.
- 1:17:25SPEAKER_01: On my next podcast, I'm gonna talk about how I support two caregivers in Uganda.
- 1:17:30SPEAKER_01: I've got 80 kids that I support.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_01: You might live somewhere where I've got a I've got a young man in India that he lives in kind of an okay family, and he took the money, he's 24.
- 1:17:43SPEAKER_01: He took the money from his his birthday and he took it and he got he went to one of the local schools, the orphan schools, and he gave all those kids something.
- 1:17:52SPEAKER_01: I don't remember what it was, and literally said, in the idea of Project Smile, which is my nonprofit.
- 1:17:59SPEAKER_01: So I don't know what your thing is.
- 1:18:01SPEAKER_01: Maybe when you're cooking, you make just a little bit more for your next door neighbor because she doesn't have as much.
- 1:18:09SPEAKER_01: Maybe when you're buying stuff for your kids, you buy an extra book and you give it to your neighbor kid because they don't have.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_01: How do you know when you're actually living who you're really supposed to be?
- 1:18:25SPEAKER_01: Because you're gonna crave giving back some way, somehow.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_01: Now, if you're a big brand and a big name, and no, you might go out and raise$100 million, fabulous.
- 1:18:35SPEAKER_01: For the rest of us, it's gonna be more on a daily basis, take a little bit grander act to make any given person's day a little better.
- 1:18:48SPEAKER_01: And the last thing I want to share about, and because this is a real life thing.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_01: I'm literally the Wii podcast is making all sorts of headlines.
- 1:18:57SPEAKER_01: I just had a press release.
- 1:18:59SPEAKER_01: I'll find out on Tuesday.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_01: I've got one of the big brands, one of the big newspapers or something.
- 1:19:04SPEAKER_01: Want to do a story like how the heck, man with a microphone, how is it working?
- 1:19:08SPEAKER_01: Well, what that means also is that I'm starting to, people are starting to question.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_01: I outrank the We podcast.
- 1:19:17SPEAKER_01: I say I, we outrank.
- 1:19:19SPEAKER_01: This podcast outranks some podcasts that have been around for 10 years.
- 1:19:25SPEAKER_01: Massive audiences.
- 1:19:27SPEAKER_01: Well, what it means is that the We podcast is growing faster and has more daily downloads than those.
- 1:19:33SPEAKER_01: Well, these people are curious, they're wondering what and why.
- 1:19:36SPEAKER_01: And I'm starting to get asked to be interviewed on some of those shows.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_01: I was telling my producer or my PR later, I said, you know, I'm gonna be on some of these shows.
- 1:19:46SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna be kind of starstruck.
- 1:19:48SPEAKER_01: I'm just a guy.
- 1:19:50SPEAKER_01: I'm the guy sitting next to you at church.
- 1:19:52SPEAKER_01: I say this all the time.
- 1:19:53SPEAKER_01: I'm that guy at the Little League game.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_01: I'm the guy in the grocery store.
- 1:19:56SPEAKER_01: I'm just a normal guy.
- 1:19:57SPEAKER_01: I'm no star.
- 1:19:58SPEAKER_01: I'm none of that.
- 1:20:00SPEAKER_01: I'm not.
- 1:20:00SPEAKER_01: I'm a guy that can share my experience, strength, and hope practice on a path.
- 1:20:04SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna be asked to be on some of these shows, and I'm gonna be asked questions, and I'm gonna give answers that these people have never heard.
- 1:20:13SPEAKER_01: And I know I'm gonna be challenged.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_01: And am I afraid of that?
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_01: Kind of uncomfortable to think about?
- 1:20:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is.
- 1:20:21SPEAKER_01: It is kind of.
- 1:20:23SPEAKER_01: But they're gonna say, you know, Joe, I've been doing, I've been doing these interviews for 30 years, and the positive affirmation I've had 3,000 people come on here and tell me positive affirmations are the way to work.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_01: And Joe, you're saying they don't work?
- 1:20:38SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say, no, I'm not saying they don't work.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_01: I'm saying they don't heal anything.
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_01: But Joe, they've got the science, they've got the technology, they've got the this, they got the that.
- 1:20:47SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_01: Great, that's fine.
- 1:20:50SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you, the voices in your head aren't in your head.
- 1:20:54SPEAKER_01: They're because of a hurt in your heart.
- 1:20:56SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna be sharing answers that the world's never heard.
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_01: They heard it 50, 40 years ago with John Bradshaw.
- 1:21:02SPEAKER_01: John Bradshaw would have said the same thing.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_01: So is it uncomfortable for me to?
- 1:21:08SPEAKER_01: Is it a stretch for Joe to know I'm gonna be on these podcasts that have a lot of listeners that I'm gonna be sharing things they've never heard?
- 1:21:18SPEAKER_01: Is that a stretch for me?
- 1:21:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is.
- 1:21:21SPEAKER_01: Wish me luck.
- 1:21:22SPEAKER_01: When I'm on, I'll tell you, you can watch.
- 1:21:24SPEAKER_01: And you know, a lot of these, a lot of these shows, they might not be as ranked on podcasts or on Apple, but they've got millions of followers on social media.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_01: I don't have any.
- 1:21:35SPEAKER_01: And that's why the We Podcast is so unique.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_01: Most people have a massive social media presence and then they start a podcast, or they've got national television recognition and then they start a podcast, or they're a billionaire in success, and then they start a podcast, or they're a top researcher, and then well, I'm none of those things.
- 1:21:56SPEAKER_01: I'm not a doctor, I'm not a researcher, I'm not a therapist, I'm certainly not a billionaire.
- 1:22:00SPEAKER_01: None of those things.
- 1:22:02SPEAKER_01: And you know, I can't even take claim to writing my book.
- 1:22:04SPEAKER_01: God wrote those books through me.
- 1:22:06SPEAKER_01: And we are doing it.
- 1:22:09SPEAKER_01: We are creating this.
- 1:22:11SPEAKER_01: And because of all of you and all of us, the Apple systems are exposing the Wii message to more and more countries, countries that probably wouldn't have been exposed if the We podcast wasn't as big as it is and it wasn't growing as fast as it is.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_01: And that is such a humbling thing.
- 1:22:34SPEAKER_01: And when I realized that with both Vietnam and India these past weeks, I don't know what countries next.
- 1:22:41SPEAKER_01: Germany is one that is it's been on there for a while, but Germany is it's getting more and more popular in Germany.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, you think about all the countries in Europe.
- 1:22:51SPEAKER_01: I think there's like 169 countries.
- 1:22:54SPEAKER_01: And for me to sit here in Atlanta and feel the feeling of a message going out around the globe with a click of a button.
- 1:23:04SPEAKER_01: I say it over and over, 100 million downloads a month is the goal.
- 1:23:08SPEAKER_01: Well, as it continues to go from Joe's desire and Joe's intention to the facts, it becomes a different thing.
- 1:23:20SPEAKER_01: Not that I haven't always believed it, I have, but there's a big difference in going from hope to belief to fact.
- 1:23:30SPEAKER_01: And per country, the whole we movement is getting bigger.
- 1:23:35SPEAKER_01: Per country, and per country that gets ranked and gets up there, which means a lot of people are listening.
- 1:23:41SPEAKER_01: And every time that happens in my silence, I'm feeling myself expand, and I'm feeling myself connect more and more with a larger and larger group of us out there, and that experience has been challenging for me.
- 1:23:59SPEAKER_01: I'm not complaining, but it's sometimes it's not easy.
- 1:24:03SPEAKER_01: It's not, you know, I look around, there's no one in my world, and it's okay.
- 1:24:08SPEAKER_01: I'm not opposed to silence.
- 1:24:10SPEAKER_01: I'm certainly not opposed to stillness.
- 1:24:13SPEAKER_01: And the expansion, though, each time I spiritually expand, sometimes I go through the emotional what about me?
- 1:24:22SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, when will there be a person in my world?
- 1:24:25SPEAKER_01: I don't even have anyone to share the glory of my world with.
- 1:24:30SPEAKER_01: I share it with you, all of you, my friends.
- 1:24:33SPEAKER_01: And it's because of all of you that are on this podcast and all of us that are doing this, that now the country of India is being exposed to the We podcast, the country of Vietnam is being exposed to the we podcast.
- 1:24:47SPEAKER_01: Who knows what countries will be next?
- 1:24:49SPEAKER_01: And the more of us that do it, the more of us do it.
- 1:24:53SPEAKER_01: And as all of you understand the exact same divinity in Joe that is causing a global movement of healing and creating the we community and the we podcast, and go to my website, joemidica.com.

- 1:25:28SPEAKER_01: Maybe you've got a podcast you want to put out there, maybe you've got a book you want to put out there, whatever it is.
- 1:25:34SPEAKER_01: As more and more of us do it, more and more of us will do it.
- 1:25:38SPEAKER_01: As more and more of us grow, more of us grow.
- 1:25:42SPEAKER_01: And literally trusting your higher power, how do we do that?
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_01: Basically, by just keep moving forward.
- 1:25:52SPEAKER_01: Roof leaks and all.
- 1:25:53SPEAKER_01: You just keep moving forward.
- 1:25:55SPEAKER_01: And as you keep moving forward, the end result is you start seeing and literally witnessing your life living something grander than you ever thought it could be.
- 1:26:09SPEAKER_01: When the gentleman downloaded my book in Nigeria and I see it on LinkedIn, I never in my wildest imaginations thought I'd ever see my book with a man's testimony.
- 1:26:22SPEAKER_01: The book that God channeled through me 30 years ago, I could have never imagined that.
- 1:26:27SPEAKER_01: Well, there it was, right on LinkedIn, out of Nigeria.
- 1:26:30SPEAKER_01: Well, you've got the same part in you that I have in me.
- 1:26:34SPEAKER_01: We are the same.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_01: Together, it's happening.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_01: And as you live it, we all live it.
- 1:26:42SPEAKER_01: As we grow together, we heal together.
- 1:26:45SPEAKER_01: And as we heal together, we literally continue to become and live and become who we are truly meant to be, and that is to live in God's image.
- 1:26:59SPEAKER_01: The grandest you is to live from the divinity called you.
- 1:27:06SPEAKER_01: And how do you know you're doing it?
- 1:27:07SPEAKER_01: By looking at the people around you.
- 1:27:10SPEAKER_01: As you live from your divinity, you give back.
- 1:27:13SPEAKER_01: The more you give back, the more you have to give.
- 1:27:16SPEAKER_01: And the more you have to give, the more you literally help heal humanity one smile at a time.
