- 1:28Speaker 1: I'm your host, Rachel Yucatel. Today, we have our very
- 1:31Speaker 1: first happy hour I'm excited to announce. And I have
- 1:35Speaker 1: my producer, Kelly Brink, from the sexy state of Iowa.
- 1:40Speaker 1: So welcome, Kelly.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Thank you so much, Rachel. I'm so excited to be
- 1:45Speaker 2: here co-hosting this with you.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I know. It's so fun. So every week, let's tell
- 1:50Speaker 1: people what this is. So every week now, every Friday,
- 1:53Speaker 1: we are going to have happy hour, which means we're
- 1:55Speaker 1: going to be like going over what happened in the week.
- 1:58Speaker 1: We're going to have a drink with us. You guys
- 2:00Speaker 1: should grab a drink with you. Or if you're driving,
- 2:03Speaker 1: don't do that, obviously. Yeah, don't do that. But we
- 2:06Speaker 1: are going to have all sorts of segments that, you know,
- 2:09Speaker 1: we do every week that we think you guys will
- 2:10Speaker 1: be really interested in. And also it'll recap like the
- 2:14Speaker 1: guests we've had, the news of the week, anything that
- 2:17Speaker 1: we find we want to reconsider a little more at
- 2:19Speaker 1: the end of the week and hopefully make it fun
- 2:21Speaker 1: and interesting for you guys. And we have some really
- 2:23Speaker 1: interesting big announcements today. So I'm really excited for you
- 2:27Speaker 1: to join us.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I am too. And it's a great way to start
- 2:30Speaker 2: the weekend, which I love. So it's like just a
- 2:33Speaker 2: fun thing. People can get to know you better.
- 2:36Speaker 1: That's right. I don't love doing that so much. I
- 2:39Speaker 1: like being on the other end where I can interview people,
- 2:42Speaker 1: but yeah, so they can get to know me, they
- 2:45Speaker 1: can get to know you. So let's start with that actually.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So Kelly, why don't you tell us a little bit
- 2:50Speaker 1: about yourself?
- 2:51Speaker 2: Oh my goodness. Where do I start? Okay. Well, hi,
- 2:55Speaker 2: I'm Kelly. I'm Rachel's producer. I live in Iowa, which
- 3:00Speaker 2: surprises everyone, but Iowa pops, right? It does. So yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 2: I've just been enjoying working in this genre of podcasting.
- 3:10Speaker 2: My background for years has been true crime. So this
- 3:13Speaker 2: is a huge deviation from that, but it's been super fun.
- 3:19Speaker 1: And what kind of shows were you doing in true crime?
- 3:22Speaker 2: So I had a show called True Crime IRL. I
- 3:25Speaker 2: just covered mostly like murder cases, unsolved cases. And then
- 3:28Speaker 2: I started working with some other podcasts like Truth and
- 3:33Speaker 2: Justice with Bob Ruff, True Crime Binge, True Crime Garage
- 3:37Speaker 2: a little bit. So I've worked on all those shows
- 3:41Speaker 2: doing like they're producing, editing videos, things like that, live
- 3:47Speaker 2: shows too.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Who would you say was the most interesting guest you
- 3:50Speaker 1: met or had on?
- 3:51Speaker 2: Oh my goodness. One of the most interesting guests I
- 3:55Speaker 2: had on was Ian Bailey. He lives in, okay, so
- 3:59Speaker 2: he lives in Ireland. There was this documentary done a
- 4:02Speaker 2: while back on Sophie Toscan de Planchier. She was a
- 4:06Speaker 2: French woman who had a home in Cork, Ireland, and
- 4:09Speaker 2: she was murdered. And a couple different networks have done
- 4:14Speaker 2: documentaries on the story. And there was one man at
- 4:17Speaker 2: the center of this case who they honed in on.
- 4:20Speaker 2: He was not found guilty. He actually was in France,
- 4:24Speaker 2: but that's a whole other story. But he's kind of
- 4:26Speaker 2: been a recluse, hiding out in Ireland, hiding away from
- 4:30Speaker 2: the media and stuff because he's been persecuted by the media.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It's just been crazy. So I had him on. He
- 4:37Speaker 2: told his story. He's doing a podcast.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Wait, so does he admit to being involved? Like, what's
- 4:43Speaker 1: his story?
- 4:44Speaker 2: No, he says he had no involvement at all. He
- 4:47Speaker 2: was a journalist at the time, and he was one
- 4:50Speaker 2: of the first journalists on the scene to cover the case.
- 4:53Speaker 2: It was really the court of public opinion that found
- 4:56Speaker 2: him guilty for the most part because they said he
- 4:58Speaker 2: had like a weird fascination with the woman and the
- 5:01Speaker 2: case and that, you know, that he was an odd character.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And he is.
- 5:05Speaker 2: He's an odd person. He will admit that, you know,
- 5:08Speaker 2: he writes poetry.
- 5:08Speaker 1: That doesn't make you a murderer.
- 5:10Speaker 2: That's right. It does not make you a murderer. So
- 5:12Speaker 2: he's been at the center of this focus in the
- 5:15Speaker 2: investigation for decades. He says he had nothing to do
- 5:19Speaker 2: with it. That was pretty interesting, but there've been so many,
- 5:22Speaker 2: so many.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And what about anyone that's come on as an expert?
- 5:26Speaker 1: Like I know you interviewed Nancy Grace, who I'm dying
- 5:28Speaker 1: to have on the show, or you had her on
- 5:31Speaker 1: one of the shows.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I met Nancy at CrimeCon, actually, because I
- 5:36Speaker 2: go to all the CrimeCons. So I've met her a
- 5:38Speaker 2: couple times, talked to her a little bit. I never
- 5:41Speaker 2: got to have her on the show, but I do
- 5:43Speaker 2: like I have talked to her a little bit, but
- 5:45Speaker 2: I had Chris Hansen on the show. And the best.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 1: And you booked him for me, too. And he was fantastic.
- 5:51Speaker 1: What did you?
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I mean, I'm like, awestruck by him. He's such an
- 5:56Speaker 2: iconic figure in true crime with his work on To
- 6:00Speaker 2: Catch a Predator and all of his new stuff. He's
- 6:03Speaker 2: just so smart, so well-spoken.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah. And Chris has a new network out called True Blue.
- 6:11Speaker 2: True Blue. Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 1: And I sat down with him last week. His episode
- 6:15Speaker 1: should be coming out in a couple of weeks now,
- 6:17Speaker 1: but I used to be in awe of him also.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I thought he was fantastic. And I would watch that
- 6:24Speaker 1: Dateline show once a week or whenever it came on,
- 6:27Speaker 1: And I couldn't wait to see who this idiot was
- 6:30Speaker 1: that got fooled into coming to this house and saw
- 6:33Speaker 1: this young girl folding laundry or making cookies and didn't
- 6:38Speaker 1: realize that they were on To Catch a Predator because
- 6:40Speaker 1: it had become such a famous show. And what was
- 6:43Speaker 1: interesting about when I spoke to him, he said that
- 6:45Speaker 1: a lot of people were were kind of fanboy over
- 6:47Speaker 1: him and wanted to tell their whole story to him
- 6:49Speaker 1: because they knew the show, they knew who he was.
- 6:54Speaker 1: And so they almost didn't care about getting caught.
- 6:57Speaker 2: That's like the magic of Chris Hansen. I think he's
- 7:00Speaker 2: so personable and approachable and genuine and people just want
- 7:05Speaker 2: to talk to him. So it's like a natural fit
- 7:08Speaker 2: for him to be in this line of work. He's
- 7:10Speaker 2: been a journalist since like what, literally like his senior
- 7:14Speaker 2: year of college.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Yeah. So that episode, when it comes out,
- 7:18Speaker 1: will be really interesting.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 7:21Speaker 1: So getting back to you, you have three children.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I do. I have three kids. My oldest is grown,
- 7:28Speaker 2: graduated from college, has a career, all of that. But
- 7:31Speaker 2: my two youngest are nine and 10 and I have
- 7:33Speaker 2: all boys.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's crazy that you have such an adult
- 7:38Speaker 1: child because you look so young. How old are you?
- 7:40Speaker 2: Oh, well, thank you. I'm 45. I was young when
- 7:43Speaker 2: I had him. He's 26. So he's literally like my
- 7:46Speaker 2: best friend. We talk every day a couple times a day.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Maybe you're not supposed to be like your best friend
- 7:52Speaker 2: with your kids. I don't know.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I think a lot of people strive to have that relationship.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 1: It's good.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Yeah. I have a daughter, so it's, you met her actually.
- 8:01Speaker 1: So Maya is a lot different because she is, you know,
- 8:04Speaker 1: she's not the type that wants to like cuddle and
- 8:06Speaker 1: snuggle and she's already horrified by me at her age.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 8:10Speaker 1: That's a, a, a. something from growing up in Manhattan, right?
- 8:14Speaker 1: They grow up so much quicker than anywhere else. So
- 8:17Speaker 1: she just turned 11 and she's going on probably 18
- 8:20Speaker 1: or something.
- 8:20Speaker 2: She totally is. She's so sweet though. And she got
- 8:24Speaker 2: a little shy when I met her, which was cute.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Because she- She was so excited you were coming.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah. She's so sassy. I love her. She's awesome. I'm
- 8:33Speaker 2: sending her a little gift in the mail, by the way. Um, yeah, but, um, no,
- 8:40Speaker 2: she's awesome, but she's so different than my kids. Like my,
- 8:43Speaker 2: like my middle is almost the same age as her,
- 8:46Speaker 2: but I'm like, he's really not, he's like seven and
- 8:49Speaker 2: she's literally like 18. I think it's the difference between
- 8:52Speaker 2: like country kids or like small town, Midwestern kids and
- 8:57Speaker 2: city kids. It is a lot different.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Well, and also girls and boys too.
- 9:00Speaker 2: That's true.
- 9:01Speaker 1: That is totally true. Girls I think are a little
- 9:03Speaker 1: bit faster than boys. So, um, you know, enjoy it
- 9:07Speaker 1: because when they turn on you, I don't think boys
- 9:10Speaker 1: turn on their moms as much as girls turn on
- 9:12Speaker 1: their moms, but No, I have a great relationship with Wyatt.
- 9:15Speaker 1: As you know, I took her to the Taylor Swift
- 9:16Speaker 1: concert a couple of weeks ago. Yes. It was just
- 9:18Speaker 1: so fun. Like at my age, I would never want
- 9:21Speaker 1: to go do anything with my mom, just me and her,
- 9:24Speaker 1: me and my grandmother or whatever. To me, that would
- 9:26Speaker 1: sound horrifying.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Like now or then?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Well, both.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 9:31Speaker 1: But back when I was her age, you know, it
- 9:33Speaker 1: wouldn't sound fun to just go do something with my mom.
- 9:36Speaker 1: So she was all about it. We drove from New
- 9:39Speaker 1: York to, we took the Amtrak actually and went down
- 9:42Speaker 1: to Philadelphia and Um, we met up with, you know,
- 9:45Speaker 1: one of my friends that she has known for a
- 9:47Speaker 1: really long time and a girl who used to live
- 9:50Speaker 1: in New York. And, um, we had, we just literally
- 9:53Speaker 1: had the best time and we sat in these seats
- 9:54Speaker 1: and the best part about it, even though, to buy
- 9:58Speaker 1: tickets for that, it's like the amount of rent.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Crazy. I know, right? Yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 1: It was crazy. But all that aside, it was so amazing.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I'm not even like, I wouldn't have said I was
- 10:08Speaker 1: a Swifty or a Taylor Swift fan. I thought it
- 10:11Speaker 1: was so amazing, the energy in that stadium, everybody standing up,
- 10:14Speaker 1: knowing every song, being so excited. And I filmed More
- 10:19Speaker 1: than the stage, I filmed my daughter and her reaction
- 10:22Speaker 1: because I thought it was just so cute how happy
- 10:24Speaker 1: she was. And she just had the best time. And
- 10:26Speaker 1: we had the best time. So it was a really
- 10:28Speaker 1: fun bonding moment. And I like spending this kind of
- 10:31Speaker 1: money on this.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Don't miss the USL Championship Final on CBS, November 21st
- 10:36Speaker 3: at noon Eastern. Will the Pittsburgh Riverhounds retain their crown?
- 10:39Speaker 3: Or will a new title winner emerge? Don't miss the
- 10:42Speaker 3: conclusion to the 2026 season, Saturday. November 21st at noon
- 10:47Speaker 3: Eastern on CBS.
- 10:49Speaker 2: It's just like, I know it's like you're spending, like,
- 10:52Speaker 2: it's like what you'd spend on a nice vacation somewhere,
- 10:55Speaker 2: a once in a lifetime thing. I feel like, and yeah,
- 10:59Speaker 2: that's so special. You guys got to share that.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's so funny because Wyatt went with her
- 11:05Speaker 1: friends back to Philadelphia this past weekend and went and
- 11:09Speaker 1: saw Ed Sheeran. And I thought what was crazy was
- 11:12Speaker 1: the tickets were like 90 bucks or something.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 11:15Speaker 2: I love Ed Sheeran. I know he's amazing.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Yes, he is. People would think that he is like
- 11:19Speaker 1: so fun to see in concert, but she was like, oh,
- 11:21Speaker 1: it was okay. It wasn't. And by the way, they
- 11:23Speaker 1: were in the second row on the floor and that
- 11:25Speaker 1: was $ 90 seat. So that's what I thought was pretty crazy.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Wow.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Wow.
- 11:30Speaker 2: So did you know the words to sing along with
- 11:32Speaker 2: the Taylor Swift songs and stuff?
- 11:34Speaker 1: Surprisingly, I did.
- 11:35Speaker 2: You did?
- 11:36Speaker 1: Okay. That's awesome. And she's also a fantastic entertainer and performer.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I mean, I've been to concerts like Celine Dion with
- 11:43Speaker 1: people that have like amazing voices and that's a different
- 11:46Speaker 1: kind of experience. I wouldn't say her voice is anything
- 11:48Speaker 1: like extraordinary, but her songs and her songwriting is extraordinary.
- 11:52Speaker 1: And then the way she performs is really extraordinary. So
- 11:55Speaker 1: I thought that was fantastic. And anyone that gets the
- 11:58Speaker 1: opportunity to go see her should definitely see her because
- 12:02Speaker 1: it really is worth it. And you will not think
- 12:04Speaker 1: of the money in a year from now. Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 2: No, totally agree.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Now, as I've gotten to know you, I have heard
- 12:12Speaker 1: you say sometimes in the evenings, okay, I'm going on
- 12:15Speaker 1: a date and that doesn't last very long. Tell me
- 12:16Speaker 1: about your dating history.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Well, I'm divorced. I've been divorced for four years now.
- 12:24Speaker 2: So the boy's dad is awesome. We're still good friends.
- 12:29Speaker 2: We're good co-parents. We get along really well. But the
- 12:32Speaker 2: last couple of years, I've gotten back into the dating
- 12:35Speaker 2: world and it's so hard. It's so, I don't know.
- 12:42Speaker 1: And how have you been meeting these men in Iowa?
- 12:45Speaker 2: So mostly... dating apps because I live in a really
- 12:50Speaker 2: small town too. I've gone on a couple like local dates,
- 12:54Speaker 2: people I've met just through life, but the dating pool
- 12:58Speaker 2: is very small. And I saw some depressing stats lately
- 13:02Speaker 2: about like your chances of actually finding your person. And
- 13:07Speaker 2: it's like a fraction of a percent of a chance.
- 13:10Speaker 2: So I'm like, how can that be? Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 1: People are talking about how hard it is to meet someone.
- 13:16Speaker 1: no matter where they live. And I just interviewed Nick Ritchie,
- 13:20Speaker 1: as a matter of fact, who's divorced and is looking,
- 13:23Speaker 1: and he has a podcast called Facts, and he has
- 13:26Speaker 1: a media conglomerate or whatever called Facts. And he interviews,
- 13:31Speaker 1: he's really focused on Gen Z. And he was saying
- 13:35Speaker 1: how hard it is to even, and he's attracted to
- 13:38Speaker 1: that age as well, even though he's in his 40s.
- 13:40Speaker 1: but he's like, it's really hard because they're a different
- 13:43Speaker 1: generation than we are. I mean, I'm 48. So you
- 13:45Speaker 1: and I are pretty much the same and, um, they
- 13:48Speaker 1: want different things. They don't give a shit. They like,
- 13:50Speaker 1: you know, they're not into, into it for long-term stuff.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I remember when I was in my twenties, I was
- 13:55Speaker 1: like working and having a cool job just to even
- 13:59Speaker 1: find the guy I wanted to be with. And then
- 14:01Speaker 1: I figured once I found him, I would quit my job.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I would have a kid. I would be a homemaker.
- 14:06Speaker 1: It's like people were interested in finding their person and
- 14:09Speaker 1: getting married back then more than anything. And now people like,
- 14:13Speaker 1: don't give a shit. I don't think as much at
- 14:15Speaker 1: that age. And then people our age are having a
- 14:18Speaker 1: really hard time finding anyone because it's like such quick
- 14:21Speaker 1: gratification and people will move on so quickly. Also at
- 14:26Speaker 1: our age, people have developed really weird patterns or idiosyncrasies
- 14:30Speaker 1: and it's hard to meet someone who's normal.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Quirkiness. Yeah. That's one thing. I mean, I've met people
- 14:36Speaker 2: who are like, yeah, like weird quirks, like too messy
- 14:40Speaker 2: for me or like too clingy or like I've had
- 14:45Speaker 2: a lot of bad dates and I feel like Like
- 14:48Speaker 2: I know right away. Do you know right away?
- 14:50Speaker 1: I know right away.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:52Speaker 1: And remember we had Aliza Ben Shalom on who is
- 14:56Speaker 1: the host of Jewish Matchmaker on Netflix.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Yes.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Or Jewish Matchmaking. And she was really interesting because she
- 15:02Speaker 1: gave some really good advice about trying to give people
- 15:04Speaker 1: more of a chance than thinking that you know them
- 15:07Speaker 1: on the first date. But that is definitely my problem.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I'm either like … into it on the first date.
- 15:13Speaker 1: And if I'm not, then I'm like, oh, forget it. I'm,
- 15:15Speaker 1: I'm like a total shredder about it. I'm like, I'm
- 15:17Speaker 1: not doing this anymore. And by the way, and we've
- 15:19Speaker 1: talked about this. I hate being on dates. It's so uncomfortable.
- 15:22Speaker 1: You're sitting across from the person telling your life story
- 15:24Speaker 1: or trying to be funny. And you don't know if
- 15:26Speaker 1: you have salad in your teeth or whatever. You know
- 15:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying?
- 15:29Speaker 2: Like you just can't do it.
- 15:31Speaker 1: You just can't be yourself. And it's so uncomfortable.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. I know.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Pretend to listen to someone if you're not interested at all.
- 15:39Speaker 1: And that can be so irritating. Or, you know, it's
- 15:42Speaker 1: just awful being with somebody that you don't know and
- 15:45Speaker 1: you don't feel comfortable with.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Totally. And that's why, like, I like how you usually
- 15:49Speaker 2: do it in your dating life. You talk to someone, like,
- 15:53Speaker 2: over text or, you know, whatever, chat or whatever for
- 15:57Speaker 2: a while and get a good feel. And Aliza said, like,
- 16:01Speaker 2: that's the way to do it. She was like, yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 2: that's the best way to do it. And, like, so
- 16:05Speaker 2: before you're going into this date, you already know if you, like,
- 16:09Speaker 2: are– attracted to their spirit kind of or not. Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I think that going on blind dates can be really
- 16:16Speaker 1: detrimental because you just literally don't know if you're about
- 16:18Speaker 1: to waste your time. And for me, I found that,
- 16:21Speaker 1: you know, dating online or dating, you know, in a
- 16:23Speaker 1: blind dating pool where you can actually talk to the
- 16:25Speaker 1: person ahead of time makes it so great because then
- 16:28Speaker 1: you can see if you have chemistry unrelated to what
- 16:31Speaker 1: the person looks like, but chemistry of like, they give
- 16:33Speaker 1: good phone there.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Yes.
- 16:35Speaker 2: I love that.
- 16:36Speaker 1: They're good with their timing. They're transparent. They're, responding to you.
- 16:40Speaker 1: You know, they don't disappear. If somebody disappears on a
- 16:42Speaker 1: text message for two days, I'm like, forget it. This
- 16:44Speaker 1: guy's an idiot. Or if, or he's just not available. Or,
- 16:48Speaker 1: you know, if somebody only texts me and they won't
- 16:50Speaker 1: pick up the phone and call, I also think that's strange.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Red flag, I think. Yeah. And maybe it's.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Not, but like, maybe they're just not good on the
- 16:58Speaker 1: phone or they hate the phone. But for me, I
- 17:00Speaker 1: want someone who's transparent enough that they pick up the phone,
- 17:03Speaker 1: they call, they can banter. And I think that's really important.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I think so too. So with you, we decided at
- 17:12Speaker 1: Misunderstood that we are going to do something backwards because
- 17:16Speaker 1: we've both found after having spoken so much about it,
- 17:20Speaker 1: and then obviously knowing a bunch of friends who can't
- 17:22Speaker 1: find normal husbands or dates even online, that we are
- 17:25Speaker 1: making a huge announcement. It is.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:28Speaker 2: It's so huge. You want me to say it or
- 17:29Speaker 2: you want to say it? Oh, you say it. You
- 17:32Speaker 2: announce it. I'm too nervous.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Everybody, this is the biggest announcement we have so far
- 17:37Speaker 1: at our show. Kelly Brink is getting married.
- 17:41Speaker 2: I'm getting married. Yeah. I am getting married. Cheers. Cheers
- 17:46Speaker 2: to my wedding. You're going to be my maid of honor,
- 17:49Speaker 2: by the way.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I'm so excited. I'm so excited.
- 17:53Speaker 4: I know.
- 17:53Speaker 2: You get to pick out your dress and everything.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Okay. So everybody, we're going to explain what we mean
- 17:58Speaker 1: by this. So we've decided after having probably drunken conversations
- 18:02Speaker 1: or being on Ambien and just hallucinating, but we decided
- 18:07Speaker 1: to try something new and we want you to be
- 18:10Speaker 1: a part of this. So Kelly is getting married on
- 18:14Speaker 1: New Year's Eve, 2024. And we are going to do
- 18:18Speaker 1: this backwards. We are going to look for a husband
- 18:20Speaker 1: for her up until then, but we are going to
- 18:22Speaker 1: plan this wedding like it's really happening. And we need
- 18:25Speaker 1: you as listeners to get involved and help send us,
- 18:29Speaker 1: you know, potential suitors, even if they don't live in Iowa,
- 18:32Speaker 1: because she can move.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I mean, I travel all the time for work. Like
- 18:37Speaker 2: I'm gone. I feel like sometimes more than I'm home.
- 18:40Speaker 2: So yeah, totally good with traveling. Geography has never scared me.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Like that's just, just a detail.
- 18:46Speaker 4: So.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Exactly. So, and if it's the right person, wouldn't that
- 18:50Speaker 1: be great that this is the way we found him?
- 18:52Speaker 2: Absolutely. I'm totally on board. Yeah. Okay.
- 18:55Speaker 1: So what we're going to do is we're going to
- 18:56Speaker 1: set up, are you on Bumble already?
- 18:58Speaker 2: I'm on no dating apps right now. So I think
- 19:02Speaker 2: we should set up. Okay.
- 19:02Speaker 1: So we're going to set up a Bumble account. You'll
- 19:04Speaker 1: be on Bumble. I think you should be on Seeking
- 19:06Speaker 1: Arrangement also.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Really?
- 19:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Because we got to try the two different types. So
- 19:11Speaker 1: type where you actually can like sign up like a
- 19:14Speaker 1: menu of what you want and the guy can be
- 19:16Speaker 1: like a billionaire and he could just rescue you or
- 19:20Speaker 1: you could just meet a normal guy on Bumble. But
- 19:22Speaker 1: you don't want to date someone that lives with their
- 19:23Speaker 1: mom and is like a fourth kid for you. You
- 19:27Speaker 1: need a nice man who wants to get involved and
- 19:31Speaker 1: be part of your family. And he could be blue
- 19:34Speaker 1: collar or he could be retired and a millionaire. It
- 19:38Speaker 1: doesn't really matter. But I think it's important to find
- 19:40Speaker 1: your one. So what is your criteria? What should we
- 19:44Speaker 1: be looking for?
- 19:44Speaker 2: Oh, you asked me this and I literally wrote a
- 19:49Speaker 2: list this long. I think, um, Aliza would be maybe
- 19:54Speaker 2: proud of me. I don't know. Maybe that's, maybe I'm
- 19:56Speaker 2: too picky. I don't know, but like, I don't want
- 19:58Speaker 2: to settle. I don't need to settle at this point.
- 20:01Speaker 2: You know, I've done that before and I'm never doing
- 20:03Speaker 2: it again.
- 20:04Speaker 1: So, um, by the way, for people that are just
- 20:06Speaker 1: listening and not watching, you're very pretty. You look much younger.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I'm horrendous. That's why.
- 20:13Speaker 1: And you have amazing hair, by the way. And it's
- 20:15Speaker 1: all real.
- 20:16Speaker 2: This is my real hair.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Which I think is phenomenal because no one has real
- 20:20Speaker 1: hair anymore.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Oh, I have. I do clip-in extensions sometimes.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Don't miss the USL Championship Final on CBS. November 21st
- 20:28Speaker 3: at noon Eastern. Will the Pittsburgh Riverhounds retain their crown?
- 20:31Speaker 3: Or will a new title winner emerge? Don't miss the
- 20:34Speaker 3: conclusion to the 2026 season. Saturday, November 21st. at noon
- 20:39Speaker 3: Eastern on CBS.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I just like started getting too lazy and I've been
- 20:44Speaker 2: taking like major vitamins lately. So I think they're helping.
- 20:47Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I'll, I'll send you a link.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Well, I can attest to the fact that it works.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Cause when I saw you in person, I was like,
- 20:52Speaker 1: Oh my God. And we went to a, a book
- 20:54Speaker 1: signing for judge Janine randomly and major hairstylist be lined
- 21:00Speaker 1: over to you to talk about your hair. So I
- 21:03Speaker 1: can attest.
- 21:04Speaker 2: He was drunk.
- 21:06Speaker 1: No, he wasn't.
- 21:06Speaker 2: He was just being nice.
- 21:08Speaker 1: He might have been drunk, but he wasn't, I don't think. Yeah.
- 21:10Speaker 3: All right.
- 21:10Speaker 1: So go on.
- 21:10Speaker 2: So what's your criteria? Well, okay. So it's going to
- 21:13Speaker 2: be- And everybody.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on. Everybody needs to listen up because
- 21:16Speaker 1: even though we're doing this online and going to look
- 21:18Speaker 1: on dating sites, if anyone has a suggestion of who
- 21:21Speaker 1: they want to put in the pot to potentially meet Kelly,
- 21:26Speaker 1: this could be really fun. You guys should DM us.
- 21:29Speaker 1: We're going to tell you later how to get in
- 21:30Speaker 1: touch with us, but like just, okay. So listen to
- 21:32Speaker 1: her criteria.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Well, there's a whole email set up for it. If
- 21:36Speaker 2: I remember, it's gettingmarriedatmisunderstoodpodcast.com.
- 21:42Speaker 1: And misunderstood is spelled M-I-S-S.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Yes. We'll link to it. But yeah. My list is
- 21:48Speaker 2: going to be way different than what your list would be.
- 21:51Speaker 1: You're going to be like, everyone has their own list.
- 21:53Speaker 2: No, I know.
- 21:54Speaker 4: No, no.
- 21:55Speaker 2: There's so many. I mean, how do I narrow it
- 21:57Speaker 2: down to like five? I don't know.
- 21:59Speaker 1: But first off, you're most important that you're probably not
- 22:03Speaker 1: finding right now. That really means like as a deal breaker.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Gosh, I don't know if I have like a deal breaker.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I would assume you don't want them to be a
- 22:12Speaker 1: drug addict. You don't want them.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Oh, well, no, I don't want that. I want a strong, confident,
- 22:20Speaker 2: I say sigma male. It's a term I never knew
- 22:23Speaker 2: until like the last few months, but it's like an
- 22:28Speaker 2: alpha male, but they're like, I even wrote down the definition,
- 22:32Speaker 2: someone who's more introverted than an alpha male, but they're
- 22:35Speaker 2: like confident, determined, someone who has a clear sense of
- 22:39Speaker 2: purpose and direction and Holds strong to their convictions. Doesn't
- 22:44Speaker 2: let anyone walk all over them.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Oh, I like this type of guy.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I think that's like what every woman actually is
- 22:51Speaker 2: attracted to. Yeah.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Because anti-personalities, I'm attracted to those, but a lot of
- 22:55Speaker 1: those turn out to be narcissists and they don't work out.
- 22:58Speaker 2: So like personality, I think is number one. Someone who
- 23:02Speaker 2: loves the outdoors. That's really important to me.
- 23:05Speaker 1: That would definitely not be on my list.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I'm a big kayaker. I love camping and anything outdoors.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Or a wilderness man.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Like someone who's real comfortable, like building a fire
- 23:19Speaker 2: and setting up a tent. Okay.
- 23:21Speaker 1: So we'll, we'll expand our search up into Alaska.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah. Yes. Yeah. I think there was like a
- 23:28Speaker 2: reality show or a calendar or something at one time,
- 23:31Speaker 2: men of Alaska. Yeah. Something like that. There aren't very many.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I know that there's more men than women up there. So,
- 23:39Speaker 1: and they're always looking. So we'll make sure to look for,
- 23:43Speaker 1: maybe there's gotta be a, an online website for Alaskan men.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Ooh, but that's really important to me. I love that.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Like Lake life, you know, whatever. Um, someone who has
- 23:53Speaker 2: like a thirst for life is spontaneous, happy, well-adjusted doesn't
- 23:58Speaker 2: come with a ton of baggage because I feel like
- 24:00Speaker 2: I've mostly worked through all of mine and I don't
- 24:03Speaker 2: want to bring theirs into it. Someone who's like, yeah,
- 24:06Speaker 2: I'll go on a road trip with you this weekend.
- 24:09Speaker 2: That's totally unplanned. That's like, I want someone like that.
- 24:12Speaker 2: I love funny, funny guys. Like we're talking like Jason Sudeikis,
- 24:17Speaker 2: Conan O'Brien, um, There's something about a funny guy.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I like a funny guy too. I like funny more
- 24:24Speaker 1: than I like attractive.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Same. Yeah.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I don't like guys that are too hot. That's annoying.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I think it's much better if they're manly and rugged looking.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I like that. But also funny. I think that's really important.
- 24:35Speaker 2: So personality is biggest for me. Someone who's financially secure
- 24:39Speaker 2: and responsible because... you know, I've dated people before where
- 24:44Speaker 2: I was always the one paying for all the fun
- 24:46Speaker 2: things we did. And like, I don't really, I don't
- 24:49Speaker 2: care how much money someone makes, as long as they
- 24:52Speaker 2: make their money, they pay their bills. They're good with
- 24:55Speaker 2: all of that. I don't want to always be paying
- 24:57Speaker 2: for everything. And cause I have three kids anyway.
- 25:00Speaker 1: So I'm like, well, not to be crude, but nothing
- 25:02Speaker 1: dries up a pussy more than having to like, pay
- 25:06Speaker 1: someone's rent at the end of the month, or they're
- 25:08Speaker 1: always asking you for money. I mean, that's like literally
- 25:11Speaker 1: having a step kid or something. It is.
- 25:13Speaker 2: No, but I agree. Like I went on a date
- 25:17Speaker 2: five months ago, probably now they brought the check and
- 25:21Speaker 2: they put it on this little tray thing and he
- 25:23Speaker 2: like pushed it my direction and I was like, and
- 25:28Speaker 2: I'm like, what? I mean, I don't expect him to
- 25:31Speaker 2: pay always, but like the fact that he did that,
- 25:35Speaker 2: I was like, Really?
- 25:36Speaker 1: I hope you did not go out with him again.
- 25:38Speaker 2: I did. I went out with him several more times
- 25:41Speaker 2: because I was so desperate and he was really hot.
- 25:44Speaker 2: I wasn't desperate. Okay. No, don't say that. No. He
- 25:48Speaker 2: was so hot. That doesn't matter to me. That's why
- 25:51Speaker 2: I only- He.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Sounds like a gigolo. He's probably going out on dates
- 25:54Speaker 1: so he can get free dinners and stuff.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Probably. And he was really dumb and just like total psycho,
- 26:00Speaker 2: total psycho and a lot younger than me.
- 26:03Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 26:04Speaker 1: So- Did he ever end up paying for anything?
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah, he paid for some stuff, but every time he did,
- 26:10Speaker 2: he would like make mention of it a lot. He
- 26:13Speaker 2: was like, so I paid for the tickets to blah, blah, blah.
- 26:16Speaker 2: And it costs this much. And I'm like, thanks. Okay.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Okay.
- 26:23Speaker 1: So yeah, he's out for sure. Do not ever recycle him.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Yeah, no. And then a few other things, not many, sorry,
- 26:30Speaker 2: this is going on too long.
- 26:32Speaker 1: No, this is important. If we're going to find the
- 26:34Speaker 1: husband for you, we need to know.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Someone who doesn't necessarily, if they're like younger than me,
- 26:40Speaker 2: someone who doesn't want their own biological kids because the
- 26:45Speaker 2: bakery's closed, like I'm not having more. They can have
- 26:48Speaker 2: grown kids, whatever. I just want them to like love
- 26:52Speaker 2: and respect my kids and their relationship with their dad
- 26:57Speaker 2: and all of that. So like I should, that should
- 26:59Speaker 2: be number one really. But yeah.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Is it important whether or not they have kids at all?
- 27:04Speaker 1: Like I won't date somebody that hasn't had kids.
- 27:06Speaker 2: No, that's not important to me at all because like
- 27:08Speaker 2: I've known some wonderful men who just never aspired to
- 27:12Speaker 2: have children of their own, but they're like amazing uncles.
- 27:15Speaker 2: They have like nieces and nephews who they are super
- 27:18Speaker 2: involved with and stuff like that. So that's fine. The
- 27:21Speaker 2: main thing is like patience. They need to have patience and.
- 27:25Speaker 2: some understanding of like what it's like to raise kids
- 27:28Speaker 2: a little bit. They don't need their own necessarily. I'm
- 27:31Speaker 2: fine if they don't, but like, I'm not going to
- 27:34Speaker 2: have more of my own. So, and I also like,
- 27:37Speaker 2: if they have kids, I don't want them to be
- 27:40Speaker 2: similar ages because I feel like I don't want a
- 27:43Speaker 2: blended household where the kids are competing for attention or
- 27:49Speaker 2: feeling weird about that. That's really important to me too.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Okay. I would have said that you wanted that, but okay.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:57Speaker 2: I don't want that, which is probably an unpopular opinion.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I just don't want to put that on them, I guess. Yeah.
- 28:04Speaker 1: No, I get it. That's fine. Do you have an
- 28:06Speaker 1: age or a physical age? thing that you're looking for
- 28:09Speaker 1: that you're mostly attracted to?
- 28:11Speaker 2: I have literally no physical type. It's all personality, like
- 28:15Speaker 2: the funny, the spontaneous, that kind of stuff is really
- 28:19Speaker 2: what gets me. But I do like I love someone
- 28:22Speaker 2: with good hair. I love good hair. I don't know why,
- 28:25Speaker 2: but like I.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Am super old.
- 28:28Speaker 2: I mean, no, but I think a shaved head can
- 28:30Speaker 2: be good hair sometimes, too. Like some guys really rock
- 28:34Speaker 2: a shaved head. That's fine. Like someone with their own
- 28:37Speaker 2: sense of style, I guess, basically. I have a lot
- 28:40Speaker 2: of tattoos.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I was just going to say, what are your thoughts
- 28:43Speaker 1: on tattoos for men?
- 28:43Speaker 2: I love tattoos. Love them. Obviously, it's not a deal breaker,
- 28:48Speaker 2: but their attitude towards tattoos would be like they have
- 28:52Speaker 2: to be cool with them and they don't have to
- 28:53Speaker 2: have them, but I do love them.
- 28:55Speaker 1: So like if you met a guy like Tommy Lee
- 28:58Speaker 1: who was just covered in tattoos, that's sexy.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Yes, that would be like. Yes. Physically, I would... And
- 29:05Speaker 2: I love an artsy person. I love someone who loves
- 29:08Speaker 2: good music, knows good music. I'm really into music. That's
- 29:12Speaker 2: something I would love to have in common with a partner.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Someone who's affectionate. I was in a really long-term relationship
- 29:19Speaker 2: where it was very cold, sterile. There was no affection.
- 29:25Speaker 2: And I'm a very... touch focused person. I'm very affectionate
- 29:30Speaker 2: and stuff. So like, I would love to have that
- 29:32Speaker 2: reciprocated and feel like someone likes that. So that's, you know,
- 29:36Speaker 2: in a nutshell, that's it.
- 29:37Speaker 1: And how tall are you?
- 29:39Speaker 2: I'm five. four, but I do like tall guys. Yeah.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Got it. And, and you like them big or skinny?
- 29:46Speaker 1: You said, I mean, I'm picturing like a tall, thin dude.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Yes.
- 29:52Speaker 1: European body. Which is not my type. So I'm just
- 29:56Speaker 1: curious what your type is. What are you attracted to?
- 29:58Speaker 1: You can be open to more things.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I really love a good, I love a dad bod. Honestly,
- 30:03Speaker 2: I like a man with something to hold on to
- 30:05Speaker 2: a little bit. Like a chubby guy. who is like
- 30:09Speaker 2: the life of the party and having so much fun
- 30:12Speaker 2: and funny is so much more attractive.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Don't miss a minute of United Soccer League action. The
- 30:18Speaker 4: USL Championship and USL League One are on CBS Sports
- 30:22Speaker 4: and ESPN platforms. all season long with additional coverage on
- 30:27Speaker 4: Sirius XMFC channel 188 and select matches available in Spanish
- 30:32Speaker 4: on 2DNA. It's your time to take part in building
- 30:36Speaker 4: what's next. Visit uslchampionship.com or uslleague1. com for complete listings. Find
- 30:44Speaker 4: your local club and be part of what's next.
- 30:48Speaker 2: To me than like a supermodel looking guy who's like
- 30:52Speaker 2: doing that with his hair and stuff.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Like that yeah and is being chased by a bunch
- 30:56Speaker 1: of women yes Okay. So this is really exciting. This
- 30:59Speaker 1: gives me, I wrote all these things down as you
- 31:01Speaker 1: were telling me, because I'm going to, so what I
- 31:03Speaker 1: think is going to be fun, we're going to set
- 31:04Speaker 1: up some dating accounts for you and then I'm going
- 31:09Speaker 1: to manage it because you have a bad picker because
- 31:11Speaker 1: you haven't found anybody yet.
- 31:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:13Speaker 1: So I think what would be fun is for me
- 31:15Speaker 1: to go through them and interview the people. Like, have
- 31:18Speaker 1: you seen a mirror has the mirror has two faces?
- 31:19Speaker 3: Yes.
- 31:20Speaker 2: That's what it, yes, we should totally do that.
- 31:22Speaker 1: So fun because sister and the mom, um, you know, take,
- 31:27Speaker 1: I forget the woman's name, but Barbara Streisand's character. And
- 31:30Speaker 1: they put her online and they interview all the guys
- 31:32Speaker 1: and they pick someone to take her out. And they
- 31:34Speaker 1: don't tell her until she's going out on the date that,
- 31:37Speaker 1: you know, they found her on a, him on a
- 31:38Speaker 1: website and blah, blah, blah. But it works out and
- 31:40Speaker 1: they get married and they fall madly in love. So,
- 31:43Speaker 1: I mean, with a bunch of things in between, but
- 31:46Speaker 1: maybe if I'm interviewing them, it would be more interesting
- 31:50Speaker 1: and have more opportunity for you to, to give them
- 31:53Speaker 1: a chance. But also I think like you're going to
- 31:55Speaker 1: come visit me here in Florida. We're going to go
- 31:57Speaker 1: out to bars. We're going to meet different people. We're
- 31:59Speaker 1: actually going to post all this stuff. We're going to
- 32:02Speaker 1: take our little camera with us. We might do, you know,
- 32:05Speaker 1: I might interview some people in person and then send
- 32:07Speaker 1: her on some like speed dates around the bar. How
- 32:11Speaker 1: much fun would that be?
- 32:11Speaker 2: Oh my God. I love that idea. I'm seriously open
- 32:14Speaker 2: to anything. And I think an outside opinion, not my own,
- 32:18Speaker 2: because I do have a bad picker. I mean, I've
- 32:20Speaker 2: had a really bad picker. your perspective would be great.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Yeah. And I think we all have bad pickers for ourselves,
- 32:26Speaker 1: or a lot of us. I do too. So sometimes
- 32:29Speaker 1: I need someone's help. Well, we should be doing this
- 32:32Speaker 1: with you. Well, let's do the experiment with you first.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Okay. I'll be the guinea pig. We'll see how it works. Okay.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Cool, cool, cool.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Okay.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Anything else that's important to make note of?
- 32:44Speaker 2: That's pretty much it.
- 32:45Speaker 1: And I can attest to the fact that Kelly is Obviously,
- 32:48Speaker 1: by being pretty, we all can see that. But you're
- 32:52Speaker 1: also very sweet, very smart, can fit in anywhere. And
- 32:58Speaker 1: you have a good job. I do. So you have
- 33:02Speaker 1: a lot going for you. So literally any guy I
- 33:05Speaker 1: think would be into you. I think it's more about
- 33:08Speaker 1: whether or not you're into the guy.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Well, thank you for all those kind words. I'm not
- 33:13Speaker 2: psycho or anything. I don't have anything– wrong with me
- 33:18Speaker 2: that I, I like that I know of or anything
- 33:21Speaker 2: like that. And, and I do, I'm still friends with
- 33:24Speaker 2: a lot of people I've dated in the past. It
- 33:26Speaker 2: just like, didn't work out as like anything romantic. We're
- 33:29Speaker 2: still friends. And I think that says a little bit about.
- 33:32Speaker 1: A hundred percent. Yeah. I'm not friends with any of
- 33:35Speaker 1: my exes. So maybe that says something about my personality.
- 33:39Speaker 3: No.
- 33:40Speaker 1: We'll get into that another time.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Okay.
- 33:42Speaker 2: No, no. Well, you there, I wouldn't be friends with
- 33:45Speaker 2: them either.
- 33:46Speaker 4: All right.
- 33:46Speaker 1: So we're going to get working on this. If you
- 33:48Speaker 1: guys have anyone to suggest for Kelly in the meantime,
- 33:52Speaker 1: every time we have our happy hour, we are going
- 33:54Speaker 1: to talk about who she dated that week, what's gone
- 33:57Speaker 1: on in the process. But we have a year and
- 33:59Speaker 1: a half basically to find the right guy, find the venue,
- 34:03Speaker 1: find the dress, find the flowers. Maybe we'll get some
- 34:05Speaker 1: sponsors for all this. And who's going to do the food?
- 34:10Speaker 1: Who's going to do the alcohol? Which reminds me, Cause
- 34:13Speaker 1: we're going to start a segment. You tell them about
- 34:15Speaker 1: the segment.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Oh yes. So yeah, it's happy hour. We need to
- 34:19Speaker 2: like have good drinks, things like that. So we're going
- 34:21Speaker 2: to start a segment, you know, we're looking for sponsors
- 34:24Speaker 2: to hook us up with wine or spirits, different things, cocktails.
- 34:29Speaker 2: We're going to have a segment where we make some
- 34:31Speaker 2: cocktails on the show. We're going to have a segment
- 34:33Speaker 2: called spit or swallow because you.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Know, it's happy hour.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Yeah. We can get a little risque. So like if
- 34:41Speaker 2: it's a win or we'll swallow if it's a, if
- 34:44Speaker 2: we don't like it, we'll spit. So, yeah. So we're
- 34:49Speaker 2: going to have some fun segments coming up related to
- 34:52Speaker 2: happy hour and cocktails and things like that. And again,
- 34:55Speaker 2: like if you guys have any sponsors in mind, or
- 34:58Speaker 2: if you are a winery or vineyard or like a,
- 35:02Speaker 2: you know, a spirit company who wants to get in
- 35:05Speaker 2: on the action, go.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Ahead and contact us and send us each a bottle
- 35:09Speaker 1: of whatever you want us to drink. And we'll feature
- 35:11Speaker 1: it on our, show every Friday.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Absolutely. Yeah. We've got so many fun segments coming up
- 35:17Speaker 2: in the show. This is just the beginning. So I'm
- 35:20Speaker 2: super excited.
- 35:21Speaker 1: So let's talk a little bit really quickly about the
- 35:25Speaker 1: guests we've had on so far. So this week we
- 35:29Speaker 1: had Skylar Baylor, who is really interesting because he was
- 35:34Speaker 1: the first division one athlete. He was recruited for swimming
- 35:39Speaker 1: on the women's team He took a year off and
- 35:42Speaker 1: then started up his freshman year on the men's swimming
- 35:45Speaker 1: team because he had transitioned or come out during that time.
- 35:49Speaker 1: And that was a really interesting interview. I think it's,
- 35:52Speaker 1: you know, obviously LGBTQ and transgenders is a hot topic,
- 35:56Speaker 1: but it's a touchy topic. A lot of people who
- 35:59Speaker 1: are not into it, you know, just like shy away
- 36:02Speaker 1: from it and would probably skip that episode. But I
- 36:04Speaker 1: actually think it was a great interview. I mean, as
- 36:07Speaker 1: you know, cause you were kind of sitting there listening,
- 36:09Speaker 1: it was, almost hard for me to do the interview
- 36:12Speaker 1: because I didn't know if I would offend him. I
- 36:15Speaker 1: didn't know the questions I asked, if they were okay
- 36:17Speaker 1: or not, because the stuff that we know about transgenders
- 36:21Speaker 1: is just what we read and it's so controversial. And
- 36:25Speaker 1: so I didn't want to offend him. I really think
- 36:27Speaker 1: he's a great guy, but I just didn't know how
- 36:30Speaker 1: to ask the question. Do you know what I mean? Yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 2: You did a great job. I mean, the key to
- 36:36Speaker 2: ending the stigma and the fear in it is education
- 36:40Speaker 2: and just talking about it. That's the first step and
- 36:42Speaker 2: you did an awesome job. And Skylar was like, that's
- 36:46Speaker 2: his job. Like he is an educator and an advocate
- 36:50Speaker 2: for the LGBT community, the trans community, all that. So
- 36:54Speaker 2: like he, anytime you were like, I don't really know
- 36:57Speaker 2: what to say here. He would be like, that's totally okay.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Here's what I would say or what I'd be good with.
- 37:03Speaker 2: And like, I hope nobody skips this episode because like,
- 37:07Speaker 2: it doesn't matter what your political beliefs are or your
- 37:10Speaker 2: personal or your you know, religious or anything like that.
- 37:13Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. Like this is like a human episode.
- 37:16Speaker 2: It's like somebody's story and their struggle. And we all
- 37:20Speaker 2: have been through struggles and like, he just had just
- 37:23Speaker 2: such a great time. Great inspirational story. And he's such
- 37:26Speaker 2: a positive person. We can all use more of that
- 37:30Speaker 2: for sure in our lives.
- 37:31Speaker 1: And he's so well-spoken. I mean, he really gets to
- 37:34Speaker 1: the point and knows his facts. And then his story
- 37:37Speaker 1: is so interesting. So everything about him was interesting. So
- 37:39Speaker 1: I really liked that episode. And I want to encourage
- 37:42Speaker 1: people to listen to it, even if it's not something
- 37:44Speaker 1: they normally would. And then we had Kara Alloway come
- 37:46Speaker 1: out on Wednesday who used to be on Real Housewives
- 37:49Speaker 1: of Toronto. She has a new book out. She's so
- 37:52Speaker 1: fun and sweet and interesting. And that was just a
- 37:54Speaker 1: fun episode. So I really appreciate her. And I hope
- 37:57Speaker 1: everyone listens to that. I'm sure that's something everyone will
- 38:00Speaker 1: listen to just because all those topics are so hot
- 38:03Speaker 1: right now of everything on Bravo and the scandals. But
- 38:07Speaker 1: she really talks about what it was like to be
- 38:09Speaker 1: in reality TV and how she got the job and
- 38:11Speaker 1: why it ended and all that stuff. And so that
- 38:13Speaker 1: was a really cool interview. What are some interviews in
- 38:17Speaker 1: the past, maybe name one or two, that was your
- 38:19Speaker 1: favorite for people that are just sort of learning about
- 38:22Speaker 1: us that they can go back and listen to?
- 38:24Speaker 2: One of my top favorites was Kato Kaelin. With my
- 38:28Speaker 2: true crime background, I was so obsessed with the OJ
- 38:32Speaker 2: Simpson case and everything. Like I remember where I was
- 38:35Speaker 2: when the white Bronco was barreling down the highway. I
- 38:37Speaker 2: was in my dad's den. Yeah. I was a senior
- 38:40Speaker 2: in high school about ready to go out. I remember
- 38:42Speaker 2: what I was wearing even. That's like how obsessed I
- 38:46Speaker 2: was with court TV and true crime. So having Cato
- 38:48Speaker 2: Kaelin on telling his personal story about the, his involvement
- 38:53Speaker 2: in that was awesome to me. I loved that.
- 38:55Speaker 1: And what a great guest. He's so fun. And then
- 38:58Speaker 1: I did his show and he's just like the nicest,
- 39:01Speaker 1: most interesting guy who really has, you know, a narrative
- 39:05Speaker 1: has been written about him and he's just had to
- 39:07Speaker 1: become known as like the most famous house guest, but
- 39:11Speaker 1: he really His personality is like no other.
- 39:15Speaker 2: He's so great.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:17Speaker 2: He's so funny and goofy. I love his humor, like
- 39:20Speaker 2: dad jokes for days. He was awesome.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:23Speaker 1: So was there another one that you liked too?
- 39:26Speaker 2: Um, another one, well, you're probably going to agree with me.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Lee Asher was great. Yeah. And I loved his story,
- 39:34Speaker 2: his backstory of how he like struggled with learning disabilities
- 39:38Speaker 2: and things like that, because my middle child is, you know,
- 39:42Speaker 2: on the spectrum and struggles with developmental delay and things
- 39:46Speaker 2: like that. And life has been hard for him. And
- 39:48Speaker 2: there were so many parallels with his story and Lee's.
- 39:52Speaker 2: And I was like, wow, my kid can grow up
- 39:55Speaker 2: to do these amazing things. It was, yeah.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:58Speaker 1: And for people that don't know, his name might not
- 40:01Speaker 1: be so recognizable on our list of names, but he
- 40:05Speaker 1: has like over a million followers on Instagram. I think
- 40:08Speaker 1: he has three to 4 million on YouTube. And he
- 40:12Speaker 1: drove across country or, you know, and quit his job
- 40:15Speaker 1: and now has a animal sanctuary in Oregon. All right.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Yes.
- 40:20Speaker 1: And it's just one.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Don't miss the USL championship final on CBS, November 21st
- 40:26Speaker 3: at noon Eastern. Will the Pittsburgh Riverhounds retain their crown
- 40:29Speaker 3: or will a new title winner emerge? Don't miss the
- 40:32Speaker 3: conclusion to the 2026 season, Saturday, November 21st at noon
- 40:37Speaker 3: Eastern on CBS.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Of the most inspirational guys because he shows the rescue
- 40:42Speaker 1: of these animals and how he takes them in, how
- 40:45Speaker 1: he either gets them adopted or lets them live with
- 40:50Speaker 1: him and becomes their protector for the rest of their lives.
- 40:52Speaker 1: A lot of them have been abused, left on the
- 40:54Speaker 1: side of the road. Some of them have actual physical
- 40:56Speaker 1: ailments because of their abuse. It's really awful. But to
- 40:59Speaker 1: watch these, you know, episodes and then follow, uh, watch
- 41:03Speaker 1: his videos and then follow the story of these dogs.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Cause then you see this pack of dogs and you see,
- 41:08Speaker 1: you know, Matilde and you see, you know, all these
- 41:11Speaker 1: different dogs that you become, you know, their name, how
- 41:15Speaker 1: they're doing it. So great. And he announced on our show,
- 41:18Speaker 1: some breaking news for him that he's going to be
- 41:20Speaker 1: partnering up with a place where you can adopt animals.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:25Speaker 1: We're going to, I think, put his name on it
- 41:27Speaker 1: and the Asher house. And that's something he normally hasn't
- 41:31Speaker 1: been doing a lot of. He was taking animals in
- 41:33Speaker 1: and not adopting them out, but now he's going to
- 41:36Speaker 1: start that. And I think he said that it's going
- 41:38Speaker 1: to drop middle of next year or something. Yes. Is
- 41:42Speaker 1: that what he said? And I'll have to watch the episode.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Again to listen to that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 1: But he is... like just such an interesting guy and
- 41:49Speaker 1: really inspirational. So that was, it was a two part episode.
- 41:52Speaker 1: You definitely should listen to both parts. So I was
- 41:54Speaker 1: going to say for me, Lee was my favorite. And then. Um,
- 41:59Speaker 1: one that hasn't come out yet that I'm really excited
- 42:01Speaker 1: about was Rudy Giuliani. He was on my bucket list for, um,
- 42:04Speaker 1: someone to interview even before I started this podcast. He
- 42:07Speaker 1: and I share, um, you know, the tragedy of nine 11.
- 42:11Speaker 1: He was part of it. He obviously knew people in it,
- 42:13Speaker 1: but he became a hero that day. And I lost
- 42:16Speaker 1: my fiance that day. And I was working at Bloomberg news.
- 42:18Speaker 1: My boss, Mike Bloomberg was, um, about to come in
- 42:21Speaker 1: as mayor. And Rudy was leaving the office as mayor.
- 42:26Speaker 1: So it was a very interesting day. I ended up
- 42:29Speaker 1: buying a dog two days later, naming him Rudy Giuliani.
- 42:32Speaker 1: So Rudy stayed in my life for 20 years or
- 42:34Speaker 1: 19 years. And he was like the one true man
- 42:37Speaker 1: I had in my life, my dog. So it was
- 42:41Speaker 1: really special for me to meet Rudy, to walk through
- 42:44Speaker 1: September 11th with him and And then also be able
- 42:46Speaker 1: to ask him some questions because obviously he's been in
- 42:48Speaker 1: the news a lot. I got to ask him some
- 42:51Speaker 1: questions about what he thought about New York, what he
- 42:53Speaker 1: thought about, you know, being misunderstood and, you know, being
- 42:57Speaker 1: accused of a lot of different things. So we got
- 42:59Speaker 1: to hear from his perspective. So I think that that's
- 43:03Speaker 1: a really interesting episode. And I'm looking forward to that.
- 43:06Speaker 1: I'm also looking forward to Sarma from Bad Vegans. If
- 43:10Speaker 1: anyone hasn't seen Bad Vegan yet on Netflix, it's a
- 43:13Speaker 1: really interesting documentary about a woman who was an owner
- 43:17Speaker 1: of a vegan restaurant, a very famous celebrity hangout vegan
- 43:21Speaker 1: restaurant in Manhattan. And it ended up that she got
- 43:24Speaker 1: into a relationship and got married to this guy and
- 43:27Speaker 1: ended up funneling out almost $ 2 million of the company's money,
- 43:30Speaker 1: wasn't able to pay people at her company and then
- 43:33Speaker 1: kind of looked like she was on the run with
- 43:35Speaker 1: this guy and ended up getting put in jail for
- 43:40Speaker 1: fraud and a bunch of other things. And now it
- 43:43Speaker 1: came on our show to tell her story, her side.
- 43:47Speaker 1: So at the end of the documentary, you kind of
- 43:50Speaker 1: don't know whether or not she's a complete criminal and
- 43:52Speaker 1: she was in on it or if she just made
- 43:54Speaker 1: a really bad decision with men and she might have
- 43:57Speaker 1: been psychologically abused and what that means. So she came
- 44:01Speaker 1: on and really explained herself. And I actually really like
- 44:03Speaker 1: her as a person. So I was really happy to
- 44:05Speaker 1: have her. And we have some really interesting guests that
- 44:08Speaker 1: are on our books going forward that we're looking forward
- 44:12Speaker 1: to interviewing. And so I think everyone will be really
- 44:15Speaker 1: excited as this podcast grows. We're just getting in the
- 44:18Speaker 1: incoming phone call business of people that want to be
- 44:20Speaker 1: on the show and give their narrative from from themselves
- 44:26Speaker 1: as opposed to having somebody else reduce them to a
- 44:29Speaker 1: single headline. So I think it's really going to be interesting.
- 44:32Speaker 2: That's what this show is all about. I mean, everyone's
- 44:34Speaker 2: got a story to tell and they want to tell you.
- 44:37Speaker 2: I just love it. Yeah, we have a lot of
- 44:39Speaker 2: great guests coming up.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 1: And I think what people should be aware of too,
- 44:43Speaker 1: because we're always open to hearing your thoughts and suggestions
- 44:47Speaker 1: of who you want to hear interviewed. It doesn't necessarily
- 44:50Speaker 1: have to be someone like that's a household name that's
- 44:52Speaker 1: super famous, like a Pamela Anderson or something. It could
- 44:55Speaker 1: be someone that or a topic that you really want
- 44:58Speaker 1: to know more about, like something that Kelly and I
- 45:01Speaker 1: are going to get involved with this in the next
- 45:04Speaker 1: month or so. We're doing an interview with somebody who
- 45:07Speaker 1: assists in deaths in the state of California. And I
- 45:13Speaker 1: don't know anything about that. I find it interesting. I
- 45:15Speaker 1: think the whole topic is misunderstood. Some people think it's suicide.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Some people think it's horrible. Some people think it's great.
- 45:21Speaker 1: And I don't even know the details of it. So
- 45:23Speaker 1: I'm so excited to have this guest on and listen
- 45:28Speaker 1: to her speak about it and be educated on the topic.
- 45:32Speaker 2: I'm so excited about that too. There are two certainties
- 45:36Speaker 2: in life. You're born and you die. And we don't
- 45:39Speaker 2: really know much about either of those things because, you know,
- 45:43Speaker 2: and I just think that's going to be an episode
- 45:45Speaker 2: that appeals to everyone just because it's so interesting. It's fascinating.
- 45:49Speaker 2: And one thing I wanted to say about this show
- 45:52Speaker 2: that I'm so proud of and that I love about
- 45:54Speaker 2: you and that I love about the show is. There
- 45:57Speaker 2: are no political lines. There's no subject that we won't tackle.
- 46:02Speaker 2: It doesn't matter if you're left, right, red, blue. We
- 46:07Speaker 2: just want to have the conversations about all of it,
- 46:09Speaker 2: just all of it. And I love that you're tackling
- 46:12Speaker 2: all of that.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think it's so important. My background is
- 46:15Speaker 1: I started at Bloomberg News. I was at CNBC before that.
- 46:18Speaker 1: And I learned that good journalism is just the facts.
- 46:22Speaker 1: You shouldn't put your opinion in on it. And I'm
- 46:25Speaker 1: somebody who, by definition, you know, nature or whatever is
- 46:29Speaker 1: inquisitive person. So I ask a million questions no matter what.
- 46:33Speaker 1: So I try to put my, you know, everyone has
- 46:35Speaker 1: judgments about things or they think, you know, they have
- 46:37Speaker 1: their opinions, but I really, you know, I've taken guests
- 46:40Speaker 1: that I haven't been interested in because I don't like
- 46:43Speaker 1: their perspective. But, and some people have said, well, how
- 46:46Speaker 1: could you interview this person? You know, that's, why would you,
- 46:49Speaker 1: listen to their side. But because I'm curious about their side,
- 46:52Speaker 1: you know, people don't understand why humans make the decisions
- 46:55Speaker 1: that they do. And I feel like I want to
- 46:57Speaker 1: get to the bottom of that so that I can
- 46:58Speaker 1: make my own decision as opposed to just reading about
- 47:01Speaker 1: who that person is. That happened to me that many people,
- 47:04Speaker 1: you know, made the assumption of who I was, they
- 47:06Speaker 1: still do, just from reading about me in the press
- 47:09Speaker 1: or seeing things about me. And, you know, I realized
- 47:12Speaker 1: I have to tackle one person at a time by
- 47:14Speaker 1: meeting them in person. But when they meet me in person,
- 47:16Speaker 1: I'm They're always like, oh my God, you're so much
- 47:17Speaker 1: different than who I thought you were. So I think
- 47:20Speaker 1: that's an important platform to give other people. So people
- 47:22Speaker 1: can also email or DM myself or Kelly with questions, suggestions.
- 47:29Speaker 1: We also have an email address.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Info, misunderstoodpodcast at gmail.com. So I'll put it on the
- 47:36Speaker 2: screen and in the notes of the show. Yes.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Okay, perfect. So normally I think one other segment we
- 47:41Speaker 1: would do is our happy hour headlines.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:45Speaker 1: The news, but we can maybe start that next week because,
- 47:48Speaker 1: you know, I don't want this to be too long
- 47:50Speaker 1: for people, but there's so many interesting stories that we
- 47:53Speaker 1: will capture, cover. And again, anything you guys suggest where
- 47:59Speaker 1: we would love to hear from you. By the way,
- 48:02Speaker 1: which reminds me, it means so much to us when
- 48:06Speaker 1: you guys go in and write reviews and give us
- 48:08Speaker 1: five stars or if you hate it, you can give
- 48:10Speaker 1: us one star. But I would really appreciate it if
- 48:13Speaker 1: more people did that or tell people about the show
- 48:15Speaker 1: because obviously that's the way that we grow. So I
- 48:18Speaker 1: would love to make the request that when you are done,
- 48:22Speaker 1: if you're watching on YouTube, if you like it, subscribe
- 48:25Speaker 1: to it, right? Or is that how you say it?
- 48:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, subscribe, rate, review, all the things.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Yes.
- 48:32Speaker 1: All the things. They're super important. They're super helpful. We
- 48:35Speaker 1: read those things and we are really appreciative. So sometimes
- 48:38Speaker 1: I wish I could write back and I don't really
- 48:40Speaker 1: know how to do that, especially on the Apple reviews
- 48:42Speaker 1: or whatever, but like we get such good reviews from
- 48:44Speaker 1: people and they're really helpful and I love reading what
- 48:47Speaker 1: people have to say.
- 48:48Speaker 2: So.
- 48:50Speaker 3: Okay.
- 48:51Speaker 1: So. The lightning round.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Yes. So I want to do a lightning round because
- 48:55Speaker 2: you've talked to, too much about me so far. Let's
- 48:58Speaker 2: talk more about you.
- 48:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 49:00Speaker 2: I'm going to take you off guard a little bit,
- 49:02Speaker 2: I think. So first question, what was your favorite subject
- 49:06Speaker 2: in school?
- 49:08Speaker 3: Music.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Music. Really?
- 49:10Speaker 1: I was a really good singer. Yeah.
- 49:12Speaker 2: Well, then you still are.
- 49:13Speaker 1: I was, no, I'm horrible. I'm horrible now. And when
- 49:17Speaker 1: I sing, my daughter like literally runs in the other room,
- 49:19Speaker 1: but I used to have a great voice. I was
- 49:21Speaker 1: the lead singer in my band called the Arcadians in
- 49:24Speaker 1: high school. And also I was a lead in our
- 49:27Speaker 1: eighth grade musical. You know, you have like a … Yeah.
- 49:31Speaker 1: you know, a musical that everybody, I was in Iolanthe,
- 49:34Speaker 1: which was a Gilbert and Sullivan and I was the
- 49:36Speaker 1: lead in it. So, and that by the way, got
- 49:38Speaker 1: me to go to school because there was a time
- 49:40Speaker 1: in my life in eighth grade where I wasn't so
- 49:43Speaker 1: happy in my life and my home life and in
- 49:45Speaker 1: the school life. And it got me to go to
- 49:47Speaker 1: school because they gave me the lead part and I
- 49:48Speaker 1: just loved music. So that's amazing.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Oh my God. I didn't know that. Okay. Um, what's
- 49:54Speaker 2: your go-to comfort food?
- 49:56Speaker 1: Cereal.
- 49:57Speaker 2: Cereal. Is there any particular kind?
- 50:00Speaker 1: I love cereal. So right now I'm really into the
- 50:01Speaker 1: Special K with the strawberries in it. I love that.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Yep.
- 50:05Speaker 1: It's so good. And then sometimes I mix pops in
- 50:09Speaker 1: it or like cinnamon life on top of it just
- 50:13Speaker 1: for a little mixture. And I'll put some like blueberries.
- 50:16Speaker 2: Those are all great.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Okay. I love Fruity Pebbles.
- 50:21Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Those are good.
- 50:22Speaker 3: Okay.
- 50:23Speaker 2: So if you had a million dollars to donate to
- 50:25Speaker 2: any charity, which charity would you donate to?
- 50:28Speaker 1: The Asher House.
- 50:30Speaker 2: I knew you were going to say that.
- 50:32Speaker 1: I'm a sucker for animals and I'm a sucker for Lee.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Yes. Lee's great. Yeah. Hi, Lee.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Hi, Lee.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Describe your perfect meal, appetizer, entree, and dessert.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Oysters to start. Entree, steak tartare with a side of fries.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Are you a dessert eater? Do you have a sweet tooth?
- 50:54Speaker 1: Not really. I do, but it's like gummy bears or something.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Nothing you can get at a restaurant. Yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Once in a while, I'll like a really good like cobbler.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Like if they have a berry peach cobbler or something,
- 51:07Speaker 1: I could get into that. That's nice. Or like coffee
- 51:09Speaker 1: ice cream or something.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's good. What's your favorite holiday?
- 51:14Speaker 1: Christmas.
- 51:15Speaker 2: What's the weirdest thing in your refrigerator right now?
- 51:19Speaker 1: Clamato. Clamato. Do you know what that is?
- 51:20Speaker 2: Oh, yes, I do.
- 51:22Speaker 1: It's a clam juice and tomato juice mixed. I love it.
- 51:26Speaker 1: It's so good. And this is even weirder. I stick
- 51:29Speaker 1: a hearts of palm in it.
- 51:31Speaker 2: It's like a Virgin Bloody Mary, basically.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Sort of, yeah.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it.
- 51:34Speaker 1: So good. People should try it. And there's also one
- 51:36Speaker 1: called Beefamato, which is more rare, but it's really good.
- 51:40Speaker 1: They're great to make Bloody Marys with, but they're also
- 51:42Speaker 1: good as just like an alternative to V8.
- 51:45Speaker 2: If you could travel back to any time period, when
- 51:48Speaker 2: would it be?
- 51:49Speaker 1: Okay, I can already answer this.
- 51:50Speaker 2: The 80s.
- 51:51Speaker 1: I wish that the whole, every decade was the 80s.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I love the 80s. I love the music. I love
- 51:56Speaker 1: the outfits. I love the big hair. I'm all about that.
- 52:00Speaker 2: That's a great answer.
- 52:01Speaker 1: I didn't like turtlenecks, but maybe that was like end
- 52:03Speaker 1: of 70s or 80s.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Turtlenecks kind of make you go like that.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but the 80s were so fun.
- 52:09Speaker 2: They were great, yeah. Morning person or night owl?
- 52:14Speaker 1: As I've gotten older, I'm not as much a night
- 52:17Speaker 1: owl like going out, but I'll stay up late. I
- 52:19Speaker 1: love my shows. So like I'll stay up late and
- 52:21Speaker 1: I'll watch the things that I'm into. I'm not someone
- 52:24Speaker 1: who will go to sleep early, but that doesn't mean
- 52:26Speaker 1: I go out late at night.
- 52:28Speaker 3: Right.
- 52:28Speaker 1: And I've actually become a morning person, which is scary because,
- 52:30Speaker 1: you know, like we all hear like your grandparents get
- 52:33Speaker 1: up like at the crack of dawn or five or
- 52:35Speaker 1: six in the morning. I've been waking up at like
- 52:37Speaker 1: 536 in the morning and Yeah. And I'm wondering if
- 52:40Speaker 1: it's a sign of age, but also I've moved to
- 52:42Speaker 1: Palm Beach and it's, you know, the sun comes out
- 52:45Speaker 1: early and I have dogs and they want to go outside.
- 52:47Speaker 1: So I've been getting up earlier.
- 52:50Speaker 2: I've noticed that by your text messages.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 52:53Speaker 2: No, I'm just kidding. What's one thing that most people
- 52:58Speaker 2: don't know about you?
- 53:01Speaker 1: That I have my master's in forensic investigation.
- 53:04Speaker 2: I love that.
- 53:05Speaker 1: I moved right after I got my license, but I
- 53:08Speaker 1: was going to stay there and work with the guy
- 53:10Speaker 1: who trained me or headed up the program. He had
- 53:14Speaker 1: a detective agency and I wanted to be an undercover
- 53:17Speaker 1: detective or whatever, a PI. And we would do for
- 53:21Speaker 1: our lesson plan or whatever, we would actually go and
- 53:24Speaker 1: do things with him. So it was really fun.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:28Speaker 2: The true crime girl in me loves that. I love that.
- 53:31Speaker 2: What's your most memorable travel experience?
- 53:35Speaker 1: My favorite place is going to Chiang Mai. I went
- 53:38Speaker 1: by myself. It's the northern part of Thailand, near the
- 53:42Speaker 1: Golden Triangle. A lot of people don't know that area.
- 53:44Speaker 1: If they go to Thailand, they're going to Bangkok or
- 53:46Speaker 1: they're going to Phuket down south. I loved going there.
- 53:50Speaker 1: There's an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Rai, which is right
- 53:54Speaker 1: near there and driving distance. I stayed at the Four
- 53:56Speaker 1: Seasons there and Elephants are literally just roaming around that
- 54:00Speaker 1: they've saved from being in Bangkok. And then I was,
- 54:04Speaker 1: I went on like a three day trek on them
- 54:06Speaker 1: where they teach you how to climb up its trunk basically.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. And it commands to say to it
- 54:11Speaker 1: to get on its back and you like go in
- 54:13Speaker 1: the water with them and they. bathe themselves. You almost
- 54:16Speaker 1: think you're going to go all the way underneath because
- 54:18Speaker 1: they go underneath, but you're sitting on them. It was
- 54:20Speaker 1: so fantastic. It was like one of the best experiences.
- 54:22Speaker 1: And I would love to go there again with somebody
- 54:25Speaker 1: in my life to like witness it with me because
- 54:28Speaker 1: I did it by myself. So I'm dying to get
- 54:30Speaker 1: back there. I think it's so amazing. Oh, and I
- 54:32Speaker 1: met like, I had a shaman that I worked with
- 54:35Speaker 1: every day. And I went to this place called Tao Garden.
- 54:38Speaker 1: I wonder if it's even still there. It was like
- 54:40Speaker 1: a medicine place. They like take your blood out, they
- 54:43Speaker 1: spin it, they tell you what's wrong with you. They
- 54:45Speaker 1: put you in all these different scenarios and to make
- 54:48Speaker 1: you healthier, but they're kind of medicine. It was just
- 54:50Speaker 1: so cool. I loved it.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Wow.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Oh, and I, sorry, I got to tell you one
- 54:53Speaker 1: more thing. I studied with, I got a personal trainer
- 54:56Speaker 1: every morning who was a Muay Thai kickboxing instructor. And
- 55:00Speaker 1: he told me about his business or whatever. And so I,
- 55:06Speaker 1: because I was there for a week and a half,
- 55:08Speaker 1: I actually extended my trip, but I would go hang
- 55:11Speaker 1: out at his business. And then they had matches on
- 55:16Speaker 1: Friday and Saturday night. So I would go with them.
- 55:18Speaker 1: And this is how I met like the locals or
- 55:19Speaker 1: the people that had literally flown in from everywhere, from Germany,
- 55:22Speaker 1: Russia to come in. And I would watch their matches
- 55:26Speaker 1: and I would help like rub them down with the
- 55:29Speaker 1: oil and stuff so that if they got hit, they
- 55:31Speaker 1: wouldn't get hurt. It was so fun. And I got
- 55:34Speaker 1: so fit in the two weeks that I was there.
- 55:36Speaker 2: I bet you did. That's amazing. I love mixed martial arts.
- 55:38Speaker 2: That's so interesting to watch. It's so like such a
- 55:42Speaker 2: beautiful dance. I love that. So yeah. What's your current
- 55:45Speaker 2: TV binge?
- 55:47Speaker 1: Well, at the moment, Selling Sunset came out. So season three,
- 55:50Speaker 1: I guess it is. So I have been watching that.
- 55:53Speaker 1: But my current binge over an arc of time right
- 55:55Speaker 1: now is Grey's Anatomy because I never watched it the
- 55:58Speaker 1: first time it was around. So now I'm convinced that
- 56:01Speaker 1: I'm like, as qualified as a surgeon or a doctor.
- 56:05Speaker 1: So like I'm always trying to diagnose people, but I
- 56:07Speaker 1: feel like I'm fully invested in that show. I love it.
- 56:10Speaker 1: And I'm almost caught up to where it is now,
- 56:13Speaker 1: I guess on live TV. So I'm getting very anxious
- 56:16Speaker 1: that it'll be, you know, the end of my run
- 56:18Speaker 1: with Grey's Anatomy, but I have really enjoyed that. And
- 56:21Speaker 1: actually it's really cute because I watch it with my
- 56:22Speaker 1: daughter and she, I just read her like graduation thing
- 56:27Speaker 1: because she's ending lower school right now and she's going
- 56:29Speaker 1: to start sixth grade next year. And what I didn't
- 56:32Speaker 1: know when she put it on her thing is that
- 56:33Speaker 1: she wants to be a surgeon because she has a
- 56:35Speaker 1: special connection with her mom and they watch Grey's Anatomy together.
- 56:39Speaker 1: And now she wants to be a surgeon for a living.
- 56:41Speaker 1: I thought that was so cute.
- 56:42Speaker 2: That's so sweet. Oh, I love that. Oh, that's awesome.
- 56:46Speaker 2: That show has been around forever. It's been going for
- 56:50Speaker 2: so long.
- 56:50Speaker 1: And every season is like 26 episodes. It's crazy.
- 56:53Speaker 2: It is crazy. That is all I have for you probably.
- 56:57Speaker 1: So every week we'll have some new lightning round, whether
- 57:00Speaker 1: or not I ask you or we bring in our
- 57:04Speaker 1: tech guy Richard here and ask him, get him involved.
- 57:07Speaker 1: We'll figure out what our lightning round will be. If
- 57:09Speaker 1: you guys have any questions for us, you can always
- 57:11Speaker 1: submit them. You might go through my phone and see
- 57:14Speaker 1: what celebrity needs to get a random prank call. Actually,
- 57:19Speaker 1: we think it's more fun when we have a fun
- 57:22Speaker 1: celebrity guest for them to prank someone. We should have
- 57:25Speaker 1: done that with Rudy Giuliani. We should have had him
- 57:27Speaker 1: call Ryan Seacrest, who's in my phone, or Derek Jeter.
- 57:30Speaker 1: That would have been hysterical.
- 57:31Speaker 2: That would be amazing. I don't know why. I just
- 57:33Speaker 2: love that kind of humor. I love prank calls. I
- 57:35Speaker 2: think they're the funniest thing ever. Well, I think we're
- 57:39Speaker 2: wrapping it up for this week's episode of Happy Hour
- 57:42Speaker 2: with Misunderstood. Yes.
- 57:44Speaker 1: So I hope you guys enjoyed it. I hope you
- 57:46Speaker 1: guys are going to settle in for your weekend. Have
- 57:49Speaker 1: a good time. Definitely please share our show with other
- 57:53Speaker 1: people and let people know about it. We will be
- 57:55Speaker 1: doing this every Friday and we look forward to having
- 57:59Speaker 1: you be a part of it.

- 58:48Speaker 1: Kelly on her impending marriage. And I hope that we
- 58:51Speaker 1: are setting off a new way to find your husband, um,

- 58:58Speaker 1: guy to fill in the spot.
- 58:59Speaker 2: I mean, why not? I've tried everything else.
- 59:01Speaker 1: So marking it on my calendar. Yes.
