- 3:26morning. We're here for your Sunday
- 3:28enjoyment. So on that note, we're going to
- 3:31bring my man in, my man, Kevin Shanahan.
- 3:35This is the interview of the week.
- 3:42How's it going guys? He.
- 3:44Is there he is. What's up, man?
- 3:46Cigar crop. My man always got something
- 3:51going on. Listen, Kevin, I got to ask you
- 3:53this question. So.
- 3:56So what made you build a walking humidor in your house?
- 4:06Isn't that what we all want? Isn't that what every cigar
- 4:08smoker? Dreams of That's the dream.
- 4:11I mean that that's that's the dream you know it's you know
- 4:14it's and and that's you know I I didn't want one I I was never
- 4:18going to build this walk in Humidor.
- 4:19My my wife, Jessica convinced me.
- 4:21Yeah, she convinced me to build a a cigar.
- 4:23Lounge. Where is she?
- 4:25At then we should have her on here, not you.
- 4:27She's actually getting ready to head to work.
- 4:29Corona cigar, Yeah. She convinced me to build the
- 4:32cigar lounge and then I wasn't going to build a walk in Humidor
- 4:35and she convinced me to build a she The Walking humor.
- 4:38She's the best wife. I mean how many wives can say,
- 4:41you know after we just got done putting a 500 square foot
- 4:46addition on the House, a new master bedroom, a beautiful and
- 4:50you know six months goes by and she says we should build a cigar
- 4:53lounge. I mean there aren't too many
- 4:55wives out there. OK.
- 4:57That that that can that would say that you know and and then
- 5:01and then as we're designing the the lounge, you know I was just
- 5:04going to have some big cabinets, you know like some, some big big
- 5:07cabinets and she pushed me for months, you know like you got to
- 5:12build a walk in humidor you're not going to be happy with those
- 5:14cabinets. So I'm like, all right, so so we
- 5:17changed the plans you know for you know with the contractor and
- 5:21we decided to build a walk in humidor.
- 5:25That's cool, bro. I mean, I, you know, I was
- 5:28watching you as you were building it, posting up the
- 5:29updates, and it was just, it was awesome.
- 5:32I was like, that's so cool, the fact that you built, you know,
- 5:34basically an entire cigar lounge, you know, in your house.
- 5:40Oh yeah, it's it's it's definitely cool.
- 5:42After the show, I'll actually be be doing more on the hopefully I
- 5:46can get it knocked out today. I'm hoping to get the majority
- 5:49of the wood up today. I don't know if the whole
- 5:51project will be done. It'll be done before this year.
- 5:53That's what my goal is to at least have it have it done so
- 5:57but yeah it's it's been a it's been a hell of a progress you
- 6:00know two years a little over 2 years building this whole thing.
- 6:06It's it's crazy. I've.
- 6:07Been following you and brought out the tres panda cigars.
- 6:12Make sure you get your Tres Panda cigars.
- 6:16My man right there. Order trash panda cigars.
- 6:20That's all I'm going to tell you.
- 6:21Yo, OG, what do you got to say to Kevin?
- 6:24Oh man, that you're set up there, brother.
- 6:27It is everything dreams are made of.
- 6:29That's absolutely amazing. Yeah.
- 6:32Congrats to you, man. And hey, what do you think
- 6:35turnbuckles can appear from there someday?
- 6:39Yeah, yeah. No, no shame in my game,
- 6:42brother. If you if you if, if you guys
- 6:45are ever in the Sarasota area, you know definitely, you know,
- 6:48head on, head on over. We can definitely do a show from
- 6:50here. So let me ask you this and and
- 6:54because shout out to Maddie Robs.
- 6:57So are you a a collaborator of Drew Estate?
- 7:07Yeah, Drew Estate and I are or or us are our partners.
- 7:12You know when when we first got into the cigar industry Jessica
- 7:18and I that that's what she kind of started smoking where the
- 7:21Drew Estate cigars you know the the the infused and I was just a
- 7:25big fan of Dru Estate cigars in in general.
- 7:29So we were always smoking them, always promoting them and they
- 7:32paid attention you know and then when at one of the barn smokers
- 7:38they came to us and like hey if there's anything you guys ever
- 7:40need from us, you know reach out, you know we, we love you
- 7:43guys promote us and that was like start of the relationship
- 7:47you know there this is I'm in the Drew Estate experience acid
- 7:50studios you know so that that that says a lot.
- 7:54You know, as you can see behind me, a lot of lot of Drew Estate
- 7:57stuff. So Kevin, this guy right here,
- 8:02right? So when he started smoking, ask
- 8:05him what he started smoking when he first started smoking.
- 8:08Give. Me one second and I will answer
- 8:10that question. He's he's going to tell you what
- 8:14he started smoking when he first started smoking well.
- 8:19You can tell him he. Started smoking the acid
- 8:22Blondie. I gave him the Blondie.
- 8:25He's like that. This tastes like potpourri.
- 8:28I'm like, OK, I'm like. It's it's a great cigar.
- 8:34I I like the Blondie. I still on occasion smoke a
- 8:37smoke a Blondie. You know, every year Jeff
- 8:40Wershowitz of Corona Cigar. That's who Jessica works for.
- 8:43He's also a sponsor of our show. He puts out a list of all the
- 8:48not the top five top ten of his favorite cigars.
- 8:51He puts out a list each year of like the top 25 cigars sold by
- 8:55Corona Cigar and they sell millions, millions of cigars.
- 8:59And I believe two years in a row that Acid Blondie is the number
- 9:03one cigar sold. It it, I've I've asked quite a
- 9:07few places and that's a big seller because it's not it.
- 9:11It's a very good introductory cigar is why a lot of people buy
- 9:15it and a lot of people smoke it at their everyday cigar.
- 9:18That's what they like. Yeah, it's it's it's a good
- 9:21cigar. I mean, I probably haven't
- 9:23smoked a Blondie in a couple of months, but every now and then I
- 9:27I enjoy. If I'm going to go with an
- 9:29infused, it's usually going to be the the Druid State Acid,
- 9:32Cuba, Cuba, or the Cuba Candela. The, the.
- 9:36The. Yeah, I I do the tobacco every,
- 9:39every Sunday. Actually, I've got one right up
- 9:41here somewhere. After this I got to fill my
- 9:44look. He's like somewhere I got to go
- 9:46over. Here I got to you know, I I
- 9:49don't want to have cigar people over here because I I feel like
- 9:52an asshole because I have got cigars everywhere.
- 9:56I mean just by looking around in various bags.
- 10:00Like like here's a bag of cigars.
- 10:02I have bags of cigars everywhere.
- 10:03I have loose just in this area. I probably have more loose
- 10:08cigars laying around than most than most people own.
- 10:12I probably. Have 300. 300 cigars.
- 10:15Hold on, just in this area right here, I just got.
- 10:19It right here. That's crazy.
- 10:21Yeah, I I it's probably 300 cigars that are just laying
- 10:24around that I that I have that I have to organize.
- 10:27I have to put in different bags and put away.
- 10:30It's just, I mean, listen, it's disgusting.
- 10:32I'm embarrassed by it. Oh.
- 10:34Yeah, that's so. It's so embarrassing.
- 10:37Wait, that's so embarrassing. It's like when me and Joey went
- 10:40to Sansa's shop, right? So you know Sanj, so.
- 10:44Yeah, I've been to a shop, yeah. Me and Joey walk in the shop.
- 10:47I'm like, man, Sanj, you got a lot of cigars, he goes.
- 10:51I'm embarrassed. He said it was like 70, 70%
- 10:56empty or something like that. Meanwhile, but his walk around
- 10:59the fucking joint. His 70% empty in his humidores
- 11:04is most shops at 100% full. Yeah.
- 11:08You know, so like. And OG was with us.
- 11:14OG tell him about Yes. Yeah, I mean, son, first thing
- 11:20he said. We walked in.
- 11:20He's like, I'm really sorry. I I don't have a lot of
- 11:23inventory And my eyes bugged out of my head and was like, what
- 11:26are you talking about? You got boxes stacked to the
- 11:28ceiling, you know, 10 deep. Like what do you mean this is
- 11:33almost empty? And that was that was the day
- 11:36that OG had smoked his first SP 1014 Red, live on the podcast.
- 11:42Yeah, it's good. Good cigar.
- 11:43I think I got a few of them. I got.
- 11:45I got probably, yeah. I we got a whole Tupperware
- 11:47thing or Tupperdoor full of Saunders scars.
- 11:50He. Was smoking it and he was like
- 11:52on the podcast, like, I don't want it to end.
- 11:53I'm like, well, I mean, there's a lot of boxes outside.
- 11:56You'll probably get another one. Yeah.
- 12:01So, So what? What made you start your own
- 12:05'cause I I this was a question not only from me but from a few
- 12:09people. What made you start your own
- 12:10line of cigars or your own company of cigars?
- 12:12Fresh Panda. I was an idiot, you know anybody
- 12:16that wants to start a cigar company just know there is no
- 12:19money to be had in this fucking game.
- 12:22It's AII don't know. Maybe, you know maybe I had an
- 12:25excess amount of money that I wanted to hide from the
- 12:27government because it wasn't about making money.
- 12:31It was. I think that's, you know, it's
- 12:33it's just like building this lounge isn't it?
- 12:34Everybody's dream to to have their own cigar and and to say
- 12:39that you know this is mine is what I produced.
- 12:42And yeah it was after talking with so trash panned of cigars
- 12:46started off not as making my own cigar.
- 12:50Interviewing hundreds of people over the last year.
- 12:53You know talking with our guests before the show after the show.
- 12:57You know we found out how many like excess cigars there really
- 13:00are from these factories that that they're producing.
- 13:03And there there's there's a lot, you know, someone wants, you
- 13:07know, when I, when I order 5000 cigars, they're not making 5000,
- 13:12they're making 51152 hundred, Yeah, for me and for me, I'll
- 13:16take, I take all of those. I'll take that 5300, you know.
- 13:20But there's some people that says, no, I I ordered 5000, I
- 13:23want 5000. That's it.
- 13:25So the factory's sitting. The factory's sitting on 2 or
- 13:27300 cigars, 100 cigars, and sometimes those just get put
- 13:32away. And so when you make your order
- 13:33next, you get some of those as well.
- 13:35And sometimes the factory just sells them to somebody else.
- 13:38You know, they're, you know, they don't have your band on
- 13:41them, but they're they're going to become somebody else's, you
- 13:44know, cigar. So we are picking up some of
- 13:46those and that's really what, you know, Trash Panda started
- 13:50off with just selling some overruns, kind of like a
- 13:53Caldwell lost and found type of thing, but on a much, much, much
- 13:57smaller scale. Kevin, I think what my question
- 14:02is to you is so now I've seen your your Instagram and
- 14:09everything that you're getting rid of all the the, the top, the
- 14:13top. When I say the top, I mean
- 14:15Fuente and all of that. So why are you getting rid of
- 14:18that and and and putting out transparent cigars?
- 14:23Because we haven't had time to promote our own cigar over the
- 14:26last year or so. And I'm constantly, you know,
- 14:30finding these vintage cigars, you know, promoting those,
- 14:34finding these overruns, selling those and my own cigars have
- 14:39taken a backseat to pushing those cigars.
- 14:43Because when you're finding these vintage cigars and these
- 14:45other deals, you know, to make money, you got to get them and
- 14:48you got to flip them fast. You know, it's like get get
- 14:51them, flip them, make a call. Because if you're sitting on
- 14:53them for six months, if you're sitting on them for nine months,
- 14:55you're not making money. So you're you're getting them
- 14:58and you're flipping them. You know, versus, you know, when
- 15:00I'm buying my own cigars, my profit margin is a lot higher on
- 15:04my on my own stuff. So I can sit on my own cigars
- 15:07for six months, nine months, a year, and plus it.
- 15:10Plus if if nobody's buying them, I have a shit ton of cigars to
- 15:13smoke. I just smoke my own stuff, you
- 15:15know, and and it's not and it's not a you.
- 15:17Know it. Doesn't it?
- 15:20Doesn't cost me that much. Oh Gee.
- 15:24That's not a bad thing that smokes his own stuff.
- 15:26Well, I I will tell you though, but the names that you have for
- 15:30these are are just all like the lace is out.
- 15:32Probably actually my favorite one, because I know exactly
- 15:35where that came from, Lace. Is out, lace is.
- 15:38Out that I know exactly where that came from.
- 15:41So but I I my. Favorite movie.
- 15:45So it's it's perfect. Yeah.
- 15:47So I listen, I don't know and This is why I'm asking him.
- 15:51I'm assuming some of our, our followers or listeners probably
- 15:54have the same question. Where'd you come up with Trash
- 15:56Panda? That is an absolutely killer
- 16:00name. Like, where did you come up?
- 16:01How did you come up with Trash Panda?
- 16:03You know so going back a couple of years ago I had said some
- 16:08dumb stuff on online when I first started out in this, you
- 16:11know, I I, you know being like you know young media trying to
- 16:16run with the big dogs. I had said some dumb shit and
- 16:20one of the one of the members of another member of the media
- 16:23basically called me trash like like I'm the worst thing that
- 16:26you know and and we've made amends since then and I
- 16:29understand where you're coming from.
- 16:30Like I said, I said some dumb stuff you know so they called me
- 16:33trash. So so and then when I just
- 16:35wanted to start the own the own my own cigar company.
- 16:39You know I remember my daughter in Florida like we have
- 16:44alligators which are called swamp kittens.
- 16:46That's what we call alligators and we and we have names for
- 16:51like all like different names for all different types of
- 16:53animals here in Florida. And then I I remember her
- 16:56posting a picture of of the the swamp kitten she called it.
- 16:59And then I'm like you know trash panda.
- 17:02You know that's just great. That's what a raccoon is trash
- 17:04panda. You know and then I I I'd seen
- 17:08the the I think there's a a baseball team in Huntsville, AL
- 17:12called the Rocket City trash pandas and and I love their logo
- 17:16and I'm like you know what trash panda people think I'm trash
- 17:20trash panda cigars. And you know, then it just felt
- 17:24it just fell in line with what we were doing of doing these
- 17:27lost and found cigars want you know, things that people would
- 17:31throw away. You know, like I said we, you
- 17:34know that that's their trash. It's our treasure, you know, So,
- 17:38so on these missions to go and find these cigars, we would call
- 17:41them our dumpster diving missions, you know to.
- 17:44Save these cigars. Nice.
- 17:47Nice. Excellent.
- 17:49Danny, Danny Nippers said. Here.
- 17:51Good morning, fellas. Lives with WAIT.
- 17:55Hold on. Yeah, yeah, I definitely.
- 17:58I definitely live with a. Camera in my face.
- 18:00In his face. Yeah, Danny was on last night we
- 18:03we, we hosted Steve Socko, the Dumbarton Tobacco and Trust on
- 18:07our on our. Special.
- 18:09On a special show. Last night, because we were, we
- 18:11were actually filming our Christmas and New Year's
- 18:13two-part episode last night, too.
- 18:16Shout. Out to my man Derek Dukes works
- 18:19for protocol. And wait a minute, Derek works
- 18:22for Derek works for protocol now.
- 18:25Yeah, he does, bro. Oh, right, right on.
- 18:28And then and then the issue's on.
- 18:30So here's, here's, I got, I got a story on Derek for you here.
- 18:33So, so sorry. Listen.
- 18:34No, no, no. This is, this is, this is a good
- 18:39story. So no, Like, no, no, no.
- 18:41You'll enjoy the stories on our next two episodes.
- 18:43Then Kevin, Kevin, you'll listen to the stories on our next two
- 18:48episodes. And it's great because even
- 18:51Dennis is like he goes, you know this guy for like 30.
- 18:55Years They, him and Derek wrestled together and and
- 18:58travelled the roads together. So you know the stories that
- 19:02they had, bro. I was just sitting there
- 19:04laughing the entire time. And yeah, so, so I, so I, you
- 19:09know it like in this, like in this business, like we all tell
- 19:12stories, you know, saying sometimes you're like, is that
- 19:15true? You know, so you know, Derek's
- 19:17like, you know, I know all these people And then I really didn't
- 19:20know, Derek that well. I'm like, this guy cannot know
- 19:23all these people, you know, so, so, so, so I'm at an event and
- 19:27Brutus the Barber Beefcake shows up and I take a picture with it
- 19:31and Derek and Derek's like, hey, tell, tell him I said hi.
- 19:34And I'm like, you know what, I'm fine.
- 19:35I'm, I'm a I'm a call out Derek. I walked over there and I'm
- 19:38like, hey, this guy says hi. Do you know him?
- 19:41He's like, Oh my God, that's Derek, you know, and his.
- 19:45Wife and he's like. He's like, you know, so he's
- 19:47like, come here, come here, let's talk, you know, so like,
- 19:49you know, like, you know, I know Derek, you know, and I'm like,
- 19:52I'm friends with Brutus the Barber Beefcake, you know,
- 19:54that's awesome. And I'm like son of a bitch, you
- 19:57know? And that's like he is, he is and
- 19:59I. Love.
- 20:00I love Derek. Like, damn, he is right, he does
- 20:02know everybody. He does know everybody and he's
- 20:05got great stories. I love Derek and I haven't.
- 20:07I haven't seen him in forever. It's it's it's funny because you
- 20:11know, even even my man right there, the OG, he's like, he
- 20:16went to his first barn smoker this year and I broke his
- 20:21cherry. By the way, just don't sleep
- 20:23face down and have something no more, OK?
- 20:25Oh yeah. Whoa, wait, He fell asleep.
- 20:28Kevin. Hotel room Kevin, with his face
- 20:30in the pillow and his ass in the air while I was watching TVI,
- 20:33looked. Over.
- 20:33I was fucking tired. I was tired.
- 20:35I was tired. I was like, listen, if this was
- 20:38another time, I don't know. I'm just saying.
- 20:41Yeah, I'm just saying. Yeah, Derek, going forward,
- 20:45don't worry, I'll be getting my own hotel room.
- 20:47Which, which which barn? Which barn smoker did you go to?
- 20:51He did Connecticut. We went Connecticut, yay and
- 20:54Connecticut. Oh man.
- 20:56Yeah, I I missed all of them this year except Florida.
- 20:58We just, we just didn't have time to travel.
- 21:00We. Missed.
- 21:01We were actually supposed to come.
- 21:02We were actually supposed to come down to Florida for that
- 21:04one. Yeah, it was.
- 21:05It was. Down.
- 21:06It was great. You know it didn't.
- 21:09Look, look, look at what Danny said while you were sleeping.
- 21:12Face down, ass up, he said. Prison rules in the hotel room.
- 21:17So ladies and. Gentlemen, we have a beautiful
- 21:19baby together. Yeah.
- 21:22So ladies, ladies and gentlemen, ring that bell because we got to
- 21:27take a commercial break. So ring that bell and check it
- 21:30out. We'll be back with Kevin
- 21:31Shanahan trash panda cigars. Check it out.
- 21:36Ring that bell? Hey, this is Michelle from Park
- 22:16Lane on Tobacconist. Come on down for a great
- 22:18selection of pipe, tobaccos, cigars, accessories, you name
- 22:23it, come on down and check this out.
- 22:24I want to thank Turnbuckles and Stokies for promoting us on
- 22:27their program and back to them at MBR Radio.
- 22:50And we're back. So listen, we just want to give
- 22:52a big shout out to our our sponsor, Park Lane, for letting
- 22:57us film there last night and just hosting us.
- 23:01You know when, when they're when they allow us to film.
- 23:04There mother fuckers. I wasn't drunk.
- 23:06No. Me and OGI had to drive home.
- 23:14What the? Fuck.
- 23:16Well, that's. Because you're saying that word,
- 23:18so they're using that instead of you saying it, but no shout out
- 23:22to them. We we appreciate all of their
- 23:24hospitality the way they take care of us.
- 23:26You know they they are probably one of the the, you know, the
- 23:30one one of the few lounges that we've been able to kind of go
- 23:33into and basically you know rearrange the furniture and
- 23:37record when they allow us to. So big shout out to them for
- 23:41letting us film our Christmas and New Year's episodes there.
- 23:44Last night that was that was also.
- 23:47Parkland tobacco You heard tears to Parkland tobacco you heard.
- 23:52So, so, Kevin, so another thing I want to ask you.
- 23:58Yo, how the fuck did you get your beard so long?
- 24:02Because Monster is sexy, but you're not.
- 24:07I I I have. I have good.
- 24:08I have good genetics. That's all it is.
- 24:12My, my that the men in my family just grow beards.
- 24:16Period. Hey.
- 24:18Listen. Listen, yeah, I'm trying to grow
- 24:21my shit down to my kneecaps, but that ain't working, so.
- 24:25It will. It will.
- 24:26Yeah. I want to go.
- 24:28Yeah. Yeah, go ahead.
- 24:30What do you use to to make it like like the way it is?
- 24:37So, so I I I manufacture my own product for for my beard.
- 24:41I used to have a a business called Irish Beard Balm where
- 24:45I'd I'd manufacture or leave it a leave in conditioner for men's
- 24:47beards. You know, when I, when I, when I
- 24:49when I when I tore my the MCL on my knee two years ago, I
- 24:54actually had to. I I couldn't make any product
- 24:56for like 10 months and then so I eventually stopped making it.
- 25:00You know, like Walmart, Target, they're they're they're mass
- 25:03producing all of this garbage. It's kind of like the boutique
- 25:06cigar world. You can have these or and like
- 25:08cigar, you have all of these cigars that are just mass
- 25:12produced that you can sell for $5 and people are going to buy
- 25:16it. But like you know, like the
- 25:18these cigars that are $3040 that are just handcrafted just with
- 25:24with all of this exceptional ingredients and very few people
- 25:27are going to buy those. It's the same thing with my with
- 25:29my beard product. It was it was a little on the
- 25:31expensive side but it was handmade with the with the best
- 25:34ingredients. So feel.
- 25:37Free to send some to me because you know I need I need to put
- 25:41that up there and but we will also make trash panda cigars
- 25:47sponsor. You know, but but as, but as in
- 25:50length, you know, like I said, if after about 18 months to two
- 25:54years, if your beard's going to be as long as it's ever going to
- 25:57be, you know, so it's never going to, it's never going to
- 25:59keep growing. Every all, all hair on the human
- 26:02body has what's called terminal length, whether it's the hair on
- 26:05your head, the your hair on your arms, your hair on your arms
- 26:08doesn't keep growing because it has terminal length, you know.
- 26:11So same with the beard on your face.
- 26:13Some guys, it will keep growing forever.
- 26:15Same with their hair, you know, But that's very few.
- 26:19Let's ask this so and I'm going to put this out there because
- 26:26listen, my wife is sleeping, but so when you go down.
- 26:30We're not. Does it affect them?
- 26:33We're not going to talk about. That on here?
- 26:35Yeah. You, you, I'll tell you, you,
- 26:38you, you want to get flagged on YouTube, we're already smoking
- 26:41cigars, says Keep. Keep going with that.
- 26:43Yeah, that. Before so.
- 26:45Yeah, That's it. Yeah.
- 26:46You. You.
- 26:48You YouTube, YouTube will flag my my account, you know, So
- 26:52yeah. We're already in enough trouble
- 26:55because we're on here smoking cigars.
- 26:57Which is? Which is have?
- 26:58Have you guys gotten any strikes or anything yet?
- 27:02Nothing yet. Nothing yet.
- 27:05Nothing yet I I monitor the YouTube account but I haven't
- 27:08gotten anything I don't think. Which?
- 27:11Which is good. The e-mail.
- 27:13Which is good. Yeah, you know the the the best
- 27:16thing is, is making sure you don't have links in your video
- 27:21description to sites that sell tobacco.
- 27:25That's the number one thing. I make sure that that's one
- 27:28thing I don't do is like if I'm doing an interview with you or
- 27:32or ish or somebody, I make sure I don't put.
- 27:35Yeah, what, what? What?
- 27:36What I do is I I put the links to my guest social media because
- 27:40that's not, you know, 'cause you can't.
- 27:41So I'll, I'll put their Instagram link.
- 27:43That's why I always say, hey, in the show notes, you know, you
- 27:46can find the social medias of our guests, you know, so their
- 27:49their Instagram or their Twitter, you know, So if you go
- 27:53to their Instagram, then you can eventually go to their website
- 27:56as well. But it's not a direct link.
- 27:58So YouTube's OK with their Instagram, their Twitter, You
- 28:03know, they're TikTok, They're LinkedIn.
- 28:05So I've even. Done the you know if you Google,
- 28:10you know like like sand I said if you Google SP1014 I said I'm
- 28:14pretty sure you can find his website like.
- 28:17Yeah and and then and then you can you can tell people you can
- 28:19say go to you know sandrasmokeshop.com and you know
- 28:23whatever you know but you know but that's not a clickable link
- 28:27you. Know yeah, I I always make sure
- 28:29to not have a clickable link. Yeah, send.
- 28:33OG send OGA picture that you want and I'm going to I'm going
- 28:39to pay for the fucking box to get done.
- 28:42So send OGA picture that you want on your box.
- 28:47He does. He does travel.
- 28:49Humidors. Custom Travel Humidors.
- 28:52Oh yeah, that's cool. Yeah, I just personalize them.
- 28:58Yeah, I just personalize them to what people want.
- 29:00I I found when I was when I first got into it, you know,
- 29:06everything was mundane and black and you know, all these these
- 29:09plastic humidors are all black and stuff.
- 29:12And I one day just decided that I needed something for me.
- 29:16So I made my own, brought it to the lounge and well made.
- 29:19Everybody loved it and it kind of took off from there.
- 29:22And then a year later I finally pulled the trigger and started a
- 29:25company making them. So that's kind of the the short
- 29:28of the long in that one. That's cool.
- 29:31Yeah, Jessica does. She does Modge Podge.
- 29:34She does. Just for like us and friends.
- 29:36She doesn't sell. Yeah, I I actually, she just
- 29:38takes my I put a label I one year for Christmas.
- 29:41I took his one of his humidors and I I had 'cause I have bags
- 29:47of labels laying all around my house.
- 29:48So I put labels that he of cigars that I know he likes and
- 29:53I put them all over the humidor and then I sealed it with the
- 29:58the Modge Podge seal. I let it sit and then I went and
- 30:03bought cigars. I put cigars inside of it and
- 30:05then I wrapped it up and gave it to him as a gift.
- 30:08So I basically re gifted him his own humidor that I got.
- 30:12To this day I still got humidor and guess what I have I have.
- 30:17One that I did I have one that I did for myself.
- 30:20My Gurkha 40 count that I it's my Gurkha 40 count that I bought
- 30:28on cigar bid. Now you know that those are now
- 30:32you know that those, those Unidos go for like 50-60 bucks.
- 30:38Easy. I got it on cigar bid for like
- 30:41$17.00. Oh wow, that's a good price.
- 30:48So yeah. What was I that humidor?
- 30:52I use it. I have to, I have to redo it,
- 30:55sit down, put the new put labels on them now and then I I
- 30:58actually have to seal it because I never sealed it the first
- 31:01time. So all the labels that are on
- 31:03there are starting to rip off and and peel off and chip off.
- 31:06So I'm going to wind up having to go through taking all the old
- 31:09labels off, putting all new labels on and then sealing it up
- 31:14and leaving it if I ever decide to use it again.
- 31:17But I I've been using, I've honestly, I've just been using
- 31:21this that I got from Zifi. Yeah, I love this little thing,
- 31:26this 5-6 count humidor. It's great.
- 31:29I don't really travel with my big one too much anymore.
- 31:34Yeah, same here. You know, you talk about labels.
- 31:37You know, if you're ever to break into my house and you were
- 31:39like, looking for stuff. Through all the drawers.
- 31:42You, you, you would every every drawer you would open up would
- 31:45have cigar labels in it. We have 10s of thousands like
- 31:48like just a random drawer like in the kitchen you'd it'd be
- 31:51full of we just run out of like oh let's just pack this drawer
- 31:54cigar. We have garbage bags with cigar
- 31:56labels. Are you saying Are you saying so
- 32:00when you go into the knife drawer, there's cigar labels.
- 32:04There, there's a pretty good chance you're going to find at
- 32:06least a cigar label, and then there are some drawers that that
- 32:08are 100% full of cigars. Do I have labels?
- 32:12Where we're sitting now to do this all over this table,
- 32:14there's probably labels. I have labels in my room on the
- 32:16floor that fell out of pockets. Labels in backpacks, labels in a
- 32:21bag, labels in cups on my dresser.
- 32:24I got labels. I I mean all over my house.
- 32:27Oh Gee. And it just if it's something I
- 32:29haven't smoked or somebody smoked that I haven't had yet,
- 32:32I'll take that label from them. I'll hold on to it until I can
- 32:35get one and then I'll just, I have the next label now.
- 32:40So, OG, what do you got to say to Kevin?
- 32:45Listen, I'm, I'm enjoying listening to him talk.
- 32:49This is fascinating. Listen, I we're, you know, we're
- 32:53newbies in this whole social media podcast thing.
- 32:57So man, any advice you got for us as we March along?
- 33:01I think we just hit our 23rd episode.
- 33:04I feel like we're getting better as the days goes on.
- 33:07But you know, Kevin, do you got any advice for us as we go
- 33:11forward? Just just keep doing it.
- 33:14Keep keep, you know, keeping notes of what you like and don't
- 33:18like, you know, and it's just it's just evolving.
- 33:20I look at you know like like Karen I, my Co host.
- 33:23So you wrote cigars you know cares on the show with me
- 33:25tonight. You know, I I think as in the
- 33:27the the live shows on YouTube. I think we're the second most
- 33:32watched weekly live show on on YouTube right behind Cigar
- 33:36Authority podcast. And I think we do a fantastic
- 33:40job. But if you go back and you watch
- 33:41some of my like earlier shows, I had no idea what I was doing.
- 33:47I mean, I hate watching some of those.
- 33:49It's like, God, you're so dumb and you asked all those fucking
- 33:54questions and but but you you just get better.
- 33:58You just evolve, you know, and that's it.
- 34:01It's. It's funny because, you know,
- 34:05that's my best friend right there.
- 34:07That's my best friend. And I got my son.
- 34:10And guess what? We've never thought that we
- 34:14would be on 23 episodes before the new year.
- 34:19We never thought that. We never thought.
- 34:22Yeah I'm yeah, I thought. I thought this was like you know
- 34:263-4 shows we get bored with it kind of move on you know do you
- 34:30know and and kind of give up on it and it just it we're excited
- 34:34for the every time. We're excited for the next
- 34:36episode you know and and trying to plan on who our guests are
- 34:41going to be, where we're going to do the show from because we
- 34:43we really like being in lounges and kind of pumping the lounges
- 34:47we go to and stuff like that and we're.
- 34:49Going to find lounges that'll allow us to do that.
- 34:51That's the only issue up here, yeah.
- 34:54And and up here, you know, you have to travel a minimum of like
- 34:5745 minutes to get to a nearest. Lounge to a hour.
- 35:01So yeah, you know, and. That's the only part that sucks.
- 35:05Well that's it you know you know it's you know but there's
- 35:08nothing wrong with doing it from where you guys are AT and having
- 35:10having your guest on. Yeah.
- 35:11It's that's always the biggest thing trying to find guest you
- 35:15know you know and and you know and consistently I mean I mean
- 35:19we're usually consistently about two months you know behind but I
- 35:22remember being just a couple of weeks behind you know of not you
- 35:26know like oh who's going to come on and.
- 35:28You know so. We appreciate you coming on
- 35:31Kevin, and thank you for jumping on my brother.
- 35:36Listen, you are the last guy for the the New Year's coming on and
- 35:43we appreciate you coming on. And yes, my son makes fun of my
- 35:47voice because it is what it is. But.
- 35:51You know what? So, so Kevin, I I just got a
- 35:55text. I got a text from somebody who's
- 35:57watching. I need to apologize to you.
- 35:59I apparently earlier in the show called you Derek, so I
- 36:03apologize. I was told to apologize to you
- 36:05for that. Did you?
- 36:06I I didn't. I didn't even.
- 36:07I didn't even catch it. I I apparently I didn't either,
- 36:10but it was just brought to my attention and there's some
- 36:13expletives in there that you're in basically a dummy in the kind
- 36:18of words. So my apologies my friend.
- 36:22No, no, no worries at all. I didn't even didn't even catch
- 36:25it, you know and thank you, thank you Karen.
- 36:27Thank you Ish for the for the kind words.
- 36:31So we got ish coming on here, Ishmael Olivan for January 7th.
- 36:37We got him coming on on on podcast.
- 36:40And Kevin, please tune in. And everybody that follows us,
- 36:45make sure you follow Kevin. My man, Trash panda cigars.
- 36:50Yo, all I got to say is this. Yo, I'm going to order trash
- 36:55panda cigars. I I kind of, I kind of want the
- 36:58laces out just because it's where it's from, that's all.
- 37:01Wait, wait, wait. I want the laces out because,
- 37:04you know, it's it's, listen, laces have to be out.
- 37:07It's Ray Finger. Laces out, Dan.
- 37:10You know, it's every time. So everybody, you know, so I
- 37:14could be in a conversation anywhere and I, you know, and I
- 37:17can pull out a quote from from that movie no matter what.
- 37:22Then I'll be somewhere. And then someone will talk about
- 37:25like, like the pressure of what they're going through in their
- 37:28lives. And if and if I'm with my buddy
- 37:30Brian, you know, sort of like, oh, I'm under so much pressure
- 37:32and I'll be like, what do you know about pressure?
- 37:34And then, like, my buddy Brian is like, well, he goes, well, I
- 37:37have kissed the man. So if you don't know, like that
- 37:40movie, like you'll look at like him, like, wait, what?
- 37:44You know, what are we talking about?
- 37:45Here, you know I do with that is I turn around and do just like
- 37:48he does and I talk with the other end, yes.
- 37:50Yeah, yeah. If you don't talk with your
- 37:53other end, are you actually doing it right?
- 37:55Yeah, yeah, so. Laces out, yo.
- 38:00Trash man. The cigars, yo.
- 38:02On that note, we're going to take a commercial break.
- 38:05Yo. Ring that fucking bell, yo.
- 38:14We're back. We're back.
- 38:15We're back. We're back.
- 38:17We're still live, ladies and gentlemen.
- 38:19So so Kevin tell us about laces out and how you how you came
- 38:25about. Well, we.
- 38:26Know how we know how he came up with the name.
- 38:29We just discussed how you up with the name.
- 38:32Yeah so I mean that that that's that's my that's my favorite
- 38:34movie you know when I when I was looking to to make a laces out
- 38:39as a one and done cigar you know it uses a a very rare Dominican
- 38:43broadleaf. It's only grown as like 1 crop
- 38:46and it was like a test crop and so I only had an X amount of
- 38:49cigars. So we're always trying to come
- 38:51up with cool names, you know, for for our cigars.
- 38:54And yeah, I just, I'm a big Miami Dolphins fan, big fan of
- 38:58the Lace Ventura, you know. So yeah, Lace is.
- 39:03Did you see what Danny said? Oh, what?
- 39:06What did it Where? He said Either this is a man or
- 39:09she has the worst case of hemorrhoids I've ever seen.
- 39:11Oh, exactly. There's.
- 39:14Tin Winky, Yeah. So, yeah.
- 39:16So I was asking, yeah, the Einhorn Finkle Finkle is
- 39:22Einhorn. Yo-yo, come here.
- 39:26You got to put out, you got to put out your fucking, you got to
- 39:29put out Cigar called Iron Horn. Iron Horse.
- 39:35No, I think what he was trying to say was Einhorn.
- 39:38Oh, Einhorn. Or come up with one that says
- 39:41Finkel is Einhorn, yeah. Yeah so so we we've got we've
- 39:45got some some cigars coming out with other movie references as
- 39:49well. You know we'll you know we'll
- 39:51we'll leave Ace Ventura and we'll go on to another one.
- 39:53We've got some cool some cool names that that once once you
- 39:58hear the name you automatically know the movie.
- 40:01You know, it's just, you know, so it's yeah, so yeah, yeah,
- 40:05we've got a few different ones coming out.
- 40:07You know, I want to like when I've seen that lace, when I saw
- 40:10laces out and I went on your website and did a little, you
- 40:13know, poking around just to see what was out, like just to see
- 40:15what you know what other ones you had.
- 40:18I saw the laces out and then I saw that it comes certain ones
- 40:22come with the the trash can. I think that's a that's a cool
- 40:27thing. You know, yeah, yeah that's
- 40:29yeah, that's our other cigar. The that that's actually what
- 40:32I'm smoking right now is the the cert myth Bruce Gar you know
- 40:35which is Irish for real good trash and that's you know so
- 40:40yeah that one comes like a little a little trash can.
- 40:43That that's cool. I mean he.
- 40:44Said real good trash. You know, I definitely will.
- 40:49I definitely will be ordering at least the leases out because you
- 40:54know, I just, I just want them just to put in the humidor just
- 40:57to say that they're there to know that they're there.
- 41:00You know, this way when they're when you know, when you don't
- 41:03have them anymore or anything like that.
- 41:04I could say, well, you know, hey, I got some.
- 41:06Don't worry about it. Yeah, yeah, 'cause, yeah,
- 41:08they're they're one and done. So once they're gone, they're
- 41:10they're gonna, they're gonna be gone.
- 41:11You. Don't have any.
- 41:12I mean, that's your problem. I have some.
- 41:13But hey, listen, that's that's not my problem.
- 41:15That's your problem. You don't have any.
- 41:17Yeah. Well, OG, what do you got to say
- 41:21to my man Kevin, right? There, Listen, man, I I, I'm
- 41:27just like I said, I'm just a a big fan.
- 41:29Just sitting back and just having a good time listening and
- 41:33hearing the stories and where he's come from and where the
- 41:35cigars come from and still oogling his set up there.
- 41:40That's just that's just absolutely killer.
- 41:43And the fact that now you got to walk in Humidor, now jealousy is
- 41:48just running fire through my body right now.
- 41:51Jealousy. Said it.
- 41:53You know but yeah I mean we we start we started off in my
- 41:56garage you know with a with a little back with a backdrop you
- 41:59know so I mean you don't have to have you know a fancy lounge or
- 42:03you don't have to have a a a great space.
- 42:05Like I said, we just start, we just started off in the garage
- 42:08and then you know and then built our our last office which we
- 42:11outgrew that pretty quick and now we're in here and you know
- 42:14it's just all about progression. It's all about trying to do
- 42:16better, trying to be better and just and and and you know
- 42:20keeping keeping at it. Listen, I'm going to shout out
- 42:24to Kevin's wife because she's the one that said to Kevin, Make
- 42:30sure you make that that humidor shout out to Kevin's wife.
- 42:35Yeah, yeah, she she's definitely been my, my biggest cheerleader,
- 42:39you know, of just, just. We say hello.
- 42:45Yeah So yeah just when when just to keep pushing me to to do
- 42:50better and and to just keep innovating and you know it's and
- 42:55just being there to and same with my buddy care.
- 42:58Care is my best friend that that's on there and and and he's
- 43:00helped me out a lot as as well and it's just not always giving
- 43:05advice but just listening because sometimes I you know I
- 43:08just throw up words and just start talking and then that's
- 43:12what that's what you need When you're and you're innovative you
- 43:14don't necessarily need somebody to to give you their input.
- 43:18You know you just need somebody to listen.
- 43:20You know because I'm the type of person I just I just keep
- 43:23talking. I was on a a conference call
- 43:27Thursday night you know with with a guy that we want to have
- 43:31him make some 3D parts for us for trash panda cigars and just
- 43:35talking with him and and we were just both talking back and forth
- 43:39and then it just we each came up with different ideas him for his
- 43:43company. I'm like, oh, hey, I got
- 43:43something for your company. So sometimes you just need
- 43:46someone to talk to, to just just throw up words just throw up.
- 43:50Not even bouncing. I didn't just throw up words.
- 43:52And then it just clicks. You're like, Oh my God, yes,
- 43:55let's do this, let's do that. And that's what Jessica's is
- 43:58really good at. I when I texted you and through
- 44:03Instagram, when I texted you through Instagram, it said, hey,
- 44:07do you want to come on my life with our podcast?
- 44:11What was your answer? Yes, because because because I I
- 44:17was where you guys were at, you know at one time, you know it's
- 44:21just starting off and and you and you you always need to get
- 44:24you know a guest to come on. And it's just sometimes it's
- 44:27it's it's tough, you know, and you guys are real tough because
- 44:30you guys go live at 9:00 or 8:30 in the morning on a Sunday.
- 44:34Well, and that's, you know, that's what we've been learning.
- 44:37Thankfully, you know MBR has kind of split off two separate
- 44:45stations. They have a a talk station and
- 44:47they have hours where we are, you know and and we have the
- 44:51time to play around with the time slots which is nice.
- 44:54So you know we always tell our guests, you know we can go live
- 44:59at 8:30 is our normal time. But if you know you need to go
- 45:03live later, let us know so that we can schedule it and do the
- 45:07advertisement right. You know, put.
- 45:09In. Yeah, or the the studio, you
- 45:13know, we created on here. It gets sent out to our
- 45:18Facebook, YouTube, you know their Facebook, YouTube, Twitch,
- 45:22wherever. This way, people know what time
- 45:25we're coming. So now let's.
- 45:27Go to and and I like view of the week.
- 45:29This is the interview of the week.
- 45:30I like Danny. I like Danny's comment the make
- 45:34a wedding crasher cigar called Stage 5 Clinger.
- 45:37Or you can make one called Ouch. Ouch.
- 45:38Yeah, yeah. This is that one.
- 45:43So yeah, so, so I got to say, I got to say though, what's
- 45:48fantastic about my experience with the podcast so far is to go
- 45:54back to what I'd said earlier. I didn't imagine coming this
- 45:57far. I don't think we would have if
- 45:59we weren't friends in real life. Meaning if we only if I only
- 46:04knew these guys through Instagram and we never met in
- 46:06person and never got to know each other, I don't know that we
- 46:11would have made 23 episodes. What's comforting is knowing I'm
- 46:14coming on here with these guys, these my friends, and it makes
- 46:20it so much easier. So when we don't have guests and
- 46:23it's just the three of us, we can take the ball and run with
- 46:25it, which is really comforting from a newbie in in podcast to
- 46:31be able to do that. The second thing is you know
- 46:35we're we're using this time slot right now for what it is to
- 46:38build up an audience. And then once that audience is
- 46:41built up then we'll look at different time slots and like
- 46:44you said, the progression of you know, improving the show and
- 46:49getting more into what do you want to call it a like a prime
- 46:53time, you know, time slot versus an 830 on a Sunday, you know.
- 47:01Yeah, yeah, 'cause you're not, you're not going to get Steve
- 47:03Socca to come on at 8:30 on a Sunday.
- 47:05I can tell you that right now. Yeah, I will.
- 47:07No, listen, listen. You know, Kevin.
- 47:11I'm going to get Steve Socca coming on.
- 47:13Steve's going to come on here, 'cause when I send him a
- 47:16message, I'm like, yo, Steve, come on, We just had Kevin on
- 47:19and he's going to be like, at 8:30 in the morning.
- 47:22I'm like, Yep, he's like, so I'm going to put, I'm going.
- 47:27To not. Not a chance.
- 47:29In hell? Not a chance.
- 47:31In. The morning.
- 47:34Hold on, hold on, hold on. So.
- 47:36Are we taking Are we taking wagers on this?
- 47:39I'll put some money on this. Let's let's take a bet.
- 47:46I'm going to bet with. I'm going to bet with Kevin
- 47:49right here. I'm going to bet with Kevin
- 47:51right here. We going to do a bet right?
- 47:53Now we're not. I'm not.
- 47:55I'm not. I'm not taking your money.
- 47:56I'm not taking your money. I'm.
- 47:59I'm. I'm friends with Steve.
- 48:01Steve. She's a friend.
- 48:02I know Steve. Yeah, you know Steve.
- 48:05Steve. Steve, Steve was pissed, pissed
- 48:09off that he was on that I took off.
- 48:12We were on last night, 730 on a Saturday night.
- 48:15He was already pissed off, but I was taking, you know, his his
- 48:18Saturday night away from him. So yeah, you want to take his
- 48:21Sunday morning? Yeah, Yeah.
- 48:23Listen, let's do, let's do Sunday morning, yo, Steve,
- 48:29Steve, come on Sunday morning. That's not happening because I'm
- 48:32going to, I'm going to bet Kevin right now.
- 48:35He already said he's not taking your money.
- 48:37Excuse me? But.
- 48:38You don't listen, so I have to repeat it.
- 48:41You're. Right.
- 48:42I don't listen. So, so, so you're not going
- 48:45back. Because he's not making your
- 48:46money so. I'm going to right?
- 48:50Now there's no back. So yeah, yeah, yeah the first
- 48:56time. But yeah it's it's so it's it's
- 48:59tough It's, I mean it's tough we we do Monday nights at 7:30 and
- 49:04sometimes it's tough to get a Monday night.
- 49:06You know that that's not a that's that's not a good, that's
- 49:09not the greatest time you know, but you know you know you know
- 49:12it's it's tough. We got other shows that are on
- 49:14Friday nights. Saturday nights.
- 49:16We just try never to compete with with other shows.
- 49:18You know, it's how we started off at the beginning.
- 49:21Yeah, I know. It's it's definitely tough.
- 49:23I mean, we've played around with different time slots.
- 49:26You know, like we did, we did a show on a Saturday because the
- 49:32guest wanted to come on on Saturday.
- 49:33They said, no, that's not that guest.
- 49:37You dummy. Do me a favor, be quiet while
- 49:41I'm talking. Thank you.
- 49:43No, we've done Saturdays. Sunday mornings is is definitely
- 49:48tough because it's just it's it's early and you can't go
- 49:54later on into Sunday 'cause then you're competing with football
- 49:57season right now. So it's really.
- 50:00Tough. It's really.
- 50:02Yeah you know it it it is tough. I mean I I don't think football
- 50:05season with with most, I think most guests that that we have on
- 50:08most people in the cigar world. You know, it's not like they
- 50:11don't care about football. But you know, if if it's to
- 50:13promote their brand, you know they're, they're not going to
- 50:16Care. Now your live viewer, your live
- 50:19viewers, might. Here's Derek Dukes.
- 50:24Yeah, what's going on, Derek? So.
- 50:27Yeah, there you go, he said. Kevin, you sexy son bitch.
- 50:31I think one of my favorite pictures I ever got when I I I
- 50:34have my my belt, my my WWE style belt that I won from the Battle
- 50:39of the bands at Smoke In. And I got to take a picture with
- 50:42Derek at Smoke in Boynton Beach. He had his, he, he had his, he
- 50:46had his legit belt. And then I had my belt that I
- 50:49won and I got to take a picture with Derek and his belt and and
- 50:53that was one of my favorite pictures and and and favorite
- 50:56moments. I'm like, oh, this is so cool,
- 50:57you know that? I have, I have pictures and I
- 51:02couldn't post them up because my my wife said no, don't put.
- 51:06She said don't, She said don't hang them up because they are,
- 51:08they're old, they're nice pictures.
- 51:10They're blown up, they're not in the frame.
- 51:12So she doesn't want them to get, you know, dirty or anything like
- 51:15that. Oh yeah, He has pitchers under
- 51:17his mattress of him with the smoking guns and with Medusa.
- 51:24Oh. Yeah, under under your mattress.
- 51:26That's kind of a weird place. Well.
- 51:28Because that's the only that's the only place.
- 51:31That's the only place that keeps them totally flat.
- 51:34Slow down. Cameron We need to keep them
- 51:37flat. Because get your holes.
- 51:39I haven't found a frame big enough.
- 51:42I haven't found a frame big enough for them and right now we
- 51:45have nowhere to hang them in here.
- 51:47OK. So the plan is eventually to
- 51:50redo this little room that we're in and hang up.
- 51:53You know, as you can see, I got the barn smoker, the sun growing
- 51:57in the Herrera Estelle flags behind me.
- 51:59The plan is to eventually make this kind of a little studio or
- 52:04at least have, you know, a backdrop with different pictures
- 52:07and stuff like that. So eventually that's the plan,
- 52:10but the ultimate plan would be to get into a house and have a
- 52:12set a a room like you have, you know, dedicated to just this.
- 52:16Oh yeah, gonna. Buy a big house?
- 52:19No. And I got to buy a big house and
- 52:22I got to make the garage. No, you.
- 52:24Don't. No, you don't do all that.
- 52:27You don't have to do all that. What I'm saying is, you know,
- 52:31even if you make a room, a studio, you know what, That's a
- 52:34place for us to go smoke, you know, and and not have to worry
- 52:39about, you know, what lounge we're going to film in that week
- 52:42because we have a built in one. Yeah, that, that makes it nice,
- 52:46you know, with a dedicated camera set up, you know, like,
- 52:49you know, like I have here, like dedicated camera.
- 52:52I mean, I can go live in five seconds, you know, someone you
- 52:55know says, hey, I need you to come on the show.
- 52:58I have dedicated cameras set up all the time, computer here in
- 53:03in a matter of seconds I can be up and running and that's and
- 53:07that's what makes it nice. Kevin, can you show us all the
- 53:14cigars that you have in your humidor right now?
- 53:18There actually there are Humidor.
- 53:19So I don't have anything in the walk in Humidor because we're
- 53:22still building that. So I have, I have cigars.
- 53:25I have two Igloo coolers in here like the big 180 quarts.
- 53:30I I I have two of those. So I do.
- 53:33I I I do have two like an an 800 count humidor of a 1200 count
- 53:39humidor in here. But then in in our bedroom right
- 53:42now is where my big My Big Humidor is.
- 53:45That's got a couple. 1000 you. Got to have a lot of cigars,
- 53:49that's you know. They're, they're natural.
- 53:51We we we probably have 24 tupper doors, you know full of full of
- 53:56full of cigars. I've probably got a dozen
- 53:59desktop humidors. Those are all in my bedroom
- 54:01right now, but. That's that's a lot of cigars.
- 54:05It it's a lot. That was the reason why we
- 54:06really needed a a walk in humidor is because like I said
- 54:09it's just I'm constantly, at least a couple times a week I'm
- 54:13going through all, I don't know what I want to smoke.
- 54:16So it sometimes it'll take me an hour to go through all my
- 54:19humidors Tupper doors just to find a cigar that that that I
- 54:23want, that that I want to smoke. That's the website for everybody
- 54:27that was wondering. That's the website.
- 54:32That's the website. See, you guys want to know where
- 54:36you can get them. That's where you can get them.
- 54:39That's it. I appreciate that.
- 54:40You can get the merch everything.
- 54:43So on that note, we going to commercial break.
- 54:46No, I'm almost done. So we're gonna we're gonna keep
- 54:49this going. You know, 'cause this is this is
- 54:52a great. Oh, look, there's H hey, look.
- 54:54Hi. HH Hi.
- 54:56H there he is. That's our producer.
- 54:58That's our producer. That's our producer in a second.
- 55:01Hold on. Hey, we're back to four people.
- 55:05Look at that. So.
- 55:07We're back to three, yo. I'm sorry guys.
- 55:14No, that's OK. It's right now.
- 55:16See, this is, this is the fun we have on here, Kevin.
- 55:19We love to have this kind of fun.
- 55:20It's great. I love, I love being able to
- 55:23message the producer when he pops on the screen because I
- 55:25think it's hilarious. So Kevin, tell us about all the
- 55:31cigars that you put in a $5 pack.
- 55:36So it's it's 50 bucks. He's needed the the five packs
- 55:40of all your your vintage stuff and why you're you know like you
- 55:44said earlier you touched on it a little bit you know because
- 55:47you're kind of your cigars took a back seat to all the vintage
- 55:51stuff. So now if I'm now correct me if
- 55:55I'm wrong, the the, the way you are getting and I don't want to
- 55:59say getting rid of, but the way you are expediting your vintage
- 56:04cigars to be out of the humidor so you can focus on yours is
- 56:07through these these 5 packs, correct?
- 56:09Yeah, you know because we we started off, I mean because we
- 56:12we've had some boxes, lots of boxes of vintage cigars and some
- 56:16of them weren't selling you know and which is hard for some
- 56:19people because I mean we just sold a the Avvo anniversary box
- 56:24now that was an $800 box of cigars.
- 56:27You know that that I sold, you know, some of these boxes are
- 56:315600 dollars $700.00 for these 10/12/15 year old cigars and
- 56:36some people just can't afford that.
- 56:37I understand that it's hard to to spend $500 on on a box of on
- 56:42a box of cigars. So we when we decided that you
- 56:45were going to start liquidating our our inventory and just
- 56:48really pushing them, I opened up all those cigars, all those
- 56:51boxes. And that's one thing I've never
- 56:53done out of all the vintage cigars I've ever sold.
- 56:56I've never opened the boxes and and some of the and I and I've
- 57:00always and I always tell people I go do me a favor and when you
- 57:02open up the boxes please send me a picture.
- 57:04I want to know what they look like because some of the the
- 57:07some of the old packaging is so beautiful.
- 57:09But I've never broken the seal on any of these because some
- 57:12people just collect them and I've got some guys that say, oh
- 57:15I'm I'm, I'm only buying these. I'm never smoking them.
- 57:17I'm putting these in my humidor and they're going to stay there
- 57:19forever. And I'm like, you know.
- 57:21So you know, vintage like I've I've found.
- 57:25So. So I'm sure you've I don't know
- 57:27if you've heard of it, but you know Sam Lucia and his Lucia,
- 57:31tobacco and all. That yeah, yeah.
- 57:32Of. Course, so I've been fortunate
- 57:35enough to find some shops that have those that I've been able
- 57:39to get my hands on and people are like, you're smoking them.
- 57:41I'm like, that's what they were meant for, was to be smoked.
- 57:46They they, they are. So I I found a couple of old.
- 57:49I found an original box of Daruma from room 101 and it's
- 57:54just sealed and I hung on to that box forever and and
- 57:58finally, you know Matt Booth, you know, had told me, you know
- 58:01he's like bro, open the box and smoke the cigar.
- 58:05That's that's what I made him. Feel free, feel free to send
- 58:09some oh. Those are probably all smoke
- 58:11them. Free to send some he.
- 58:12Probably smoked them all. No, it's I've.
- 58:15I've got like 5 left and like and and just.
- 58:18And there's only three of us, so.
- 58:19So the. Only three of us.
- 58:21I have a hard time smoking them because they're once they're
- 58:23gone, they're gone. I mean, yeah.
- 58:26I mean, they're never coming back.
- 58:28So the the one box that you have on there the I think you said it
- 58:33was made for you guys or by by I think it was booth or somebody
- 58:39the the all black box. Oh, that was by Espinosa, the
- 58:42back in black. Yes, that one.
- 58:45Yes, that was the one I was thinking of.
- 58:47Yeah, that one we we we're probably going to redo that one.
- 58:50That one, that one went over really well.
- 58:52It's a really strong cigar, so we might come back out with that
- 58:55cigar. That's that's right up my alley.
- 58:57I love that really strong, strong stuff.
- 59:01Feel free to send each one of us a cigar we appreciate.
- 59:05No, we won't do that to him. No, I'm just.
- 59:07Ready to do that to him? I know.
- 59:08But listen, I know what it's like to get your hands on those.
- 59:11You know, the the vintage cigars.
- 59:13Are cigars not made by, you know, other companies anymore
- 59:17like the like the Luchadors, like the Lucia tobacco, you
- 59:20know, the the black and the white.
- 59:21Like when I get my hands on them, I buy five or six and I'll
- 59:26smoke one or two and the rest will sit there and everybody
- 59:30goes, why are they sitting there?
- 59:31I sit because I have to go back and get more before I can smoke
- 59:33those. So I make sure I always have
- 59:35some in my humidor. I'm I'm with you.
- 59:37I sat on a a a couple of luchadors for like 6 months and
- 59:42I'm like you know what, to hell with it.
- 59:45I I'm just, I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna smoke them.
- 59:47And I smoked them both and they were and they were so, so good.
- 59:51And there's I I had been going through my personal vintage
- 59:55supply and I have just been just saying the hell with it.
- 59:58And I've been opening them up and smoking some of them.
- 1:00:00Is like, I've had people tell me, oh, I'm, you know, like you
- 1:00:03said, I'm holding on to all these.
- 1:00:05You know why? Why?
- 1:00:06Yeah, well, and and you know, Pedro, just probably as well as
- 1:00:09I do, Pedro said to me one day, 'cause I was saving my A from
- 1:00:14the Barnsmoker, 'cause I knew, like you said, I'll never get it
- 1:00:17again until Barnsmoker. And you know, I didn't smoke it.
- 1:00:21And he, he had said to me or to somebody else that I know and
- 1:00:27was like, you know, hey, why are you going to, what are you
- 1:00:30saving that for? And they said, well, special
- 1:00:32occasion. He said, Well, what happens if
- 1:00:33you never make it to that special occasion?
- 1:00:36Why not smoke it today and make today that special occasion,
- 1:00:40right? You know and and and and I don't
- 1:00:43and I don't smoke. I don't have those special
- 1:00:48occasion cigars where I smoke like like some people will have.
- 1:00:51You know they'll they'll have their Dunbart and tobacco and
- 1:00:56trust. There are the unicorns $100
- 1:00:58cigar and they don't they don't have that and and they don't
- 1:01:02they're waiting for to to smoke that during a first special
- 1:01:05occasion and Steve Sacca said something years ago and he he's
- 1:01:09A and that's what got me to doing the same thing.
- 1:01:11He goes he doesn't believe in that because what happens God
- 1:01:14forbid that cigar something happens to it.
- 1:01:17It doesn't burn right. It falls apart.
- 1:01:19It ruin it ruins that occasion because now it's like you're
- 1:01:23waiting for the the birth of your child.
- 1:01:26You're waiting for an anniversary, a special
- 1:01:28anniversary, and you smoke it and that cigar is always,
- 1:01:31usually always going to smoke really good.
- 1:01:33But what happens if it doesn't and it falls apart and it's
- 1:01:36cracked and now it kind of ruins that occasion and me that that
- 1:01:40really meant a lot to me. And I'm like, and I'm like, you
- 1:01:42know what? He's right.
- 1:01:44So on these special occasions I smoke just whatever, because now
- 1:01:48I can keep smoking that cigar. So on my anniversary, it may be
- 1:01:52I'm just going to smoke a Dunbart and tobacco and trust
- 1:01:55Sober Mesa El Americano. And it's a great cigar.
- 1:01:58And then I can I can smoke that cigar on every occasion, you
- 1:02:02know, So on the next anniversary or when your son turns 123, you
- 1:02:07can always keep smoking that cigar.
- 1:02:09You may not. You know, if you if you have
- 1:02:11those special cigars, those unicorns, or those vintage
- 1:02:13cigars, you're not going to smoke that again.
- 1:02:15But you can smoke it again the next year if you're smoking just
- 1:02:19a regular cigar. Right.
- 1:02:20And that's that's kind of what a lot of people have.
- 1:02:23I've kind of told a lot of people is, you know, kind of
- 1:02:26like you said, you know, I my special occasion cigars, you
- 1:02:30know, most of the time are stuff that I can get any time of year,
- 1:02:35anytime I want, you know, like I'll smoke on a, you know, on on
- 1:02:40my birthday or whatever. Let's just say I'm smoking a
- 1:02:42league of nine. I know I can go get another one.
- 1:02:44You know, I know I can. Go get you know MI Carita by
- 1:02:49Steve Sock. I know I can get all those.
- 1:02:52You know where the special occasion stuff is for what I say
- 1:02:55when I don't know what I want to smoke, because I don't know what
- 1:02:59I want to smoke. So let's pick this.
- 1:03:01And now guess what? It's a special occasion because
- 1:03:03I figured out what I wanted to smoke.
- 1:03:04So on that note, we're going to ring the bell and we're going to
- 1:03:08go to my man right there, the the, the everything that he has.
- 1:03:21The word Wow. We've already been on for an
- 1:03:24hour guys. I can't even believe it.
- 1:03:26It goes by so fast. Goes by so fast, guys.
- 1:03:32That that hour, All right, all right.
- 1:07:27What's up, everybody? So we are, we are back and I got
- 1:07:33AI just got a text from OG because he got a, he got a
- 1:07:37question from somebody. So we're actually going to go
- 1:07:40with the question of the week for you, Kevin.
- 1:07:42All right. Well, we're going to, we're
- 1:07:44going to have our producer hit our nice question of the Week
- 1:07:47graphic for us and then we will ask the question.
- 1:07:53If he hits it, if not. If not, I'll ask the question,
- 1:07:55It doesn't matter to me. That's the question.
- 1:07:58So the question of the week from somebody watching was, if you
- 1:08:04could smoke a cigar with any celebrity, who would it be?
- 1:08:10I mean, what what? How do you define celebrity?
- 1:08:13I I You know. He didn't say he.
- 1:08:16Didn't say. OK.
- 1:08:20I would assume, I would assume like a movie star or a sports
- 1:08:25figure or the traditional scent of celebrity cigar, I guess
- 1:08:32cigar celebrity, like, you know, I don't know.
- 1:08:36You know, if it if it's like regular celebrity, I I would
- 1:08:41probably say, you know, Shaq Shaquille, O'Neal, you know,
- 1:08:46definitely, you know, cigar celebrity Steve Sacca.
- 1:08:50You know, I I've sat down and smoked with Steve so many times
- 1:08:54and he's the, you know, he's one of those guys I always still
- 1:08:57want to smoke a cigar with, you know, 'cause he's, he's got so
- 1:09:00many stories and and I I love, I love just sitting down and and
- 1:09:06chatting with Steve. So.
- 1:09:10We're going to get Steve on here.
- 1:09:12We are, we're all, we're filling up our calendar for next year,
- 1:09:15so, so we're working. On that and get Steve on here.
- 1:09:18We're working on our calendar for next year.
- 1:09:20I actually have. I have to reach out to them and
- 1:09:25see if we can set a date with with these two guys.
- 1:09:28But as OG knows them, I know them.
- 1:09:30He knows them. You probably know them too,
- 1:09:32Kevin. I'm going to We're going to be
- 1:09:33having Chief and Bob the Cigar Guy on episode of our podcast
- 1:09:39for next year. Yeah, definitely.
- 1:09:41Sunday morning's going to be tough for them.
- 1:09:43You know, they got church on Sunday morning like I said.
- 1:09:46We already got church. We can, we can work around
- 1:09:49their, we can work around their schedules, which isn't a problem
- 1:09:51for us. You know, 'cause they are,
- 1:09:53they're two guys that over the last couple of years we've come
- 1:09:58to become very good friends with.
